Starting point is 00:00:00 Now's a good time to remember where Tequila's story truly began. In 1795, Cuervo invented Tequila. Cuervo. What are you doing here? Cuervo. Anytime someone says Cuervo, I show up. Well, I do know that to be true, but even during ad reads, like... Cuervo.
Starting point is 00:00:16 I think he could lay out, especially for one of our great partners. Sweet, delicious Cuervo. Since then, Cuervo has stayed true to its roots. The same family, the same land, the same passion. Cuervo. So, enjoy the Tequila that started it all. Cuervo has stayed true to its roots. The same family, the same land, the same passion. Cuervo. So, enjoy the tequila that started it all. Cuervo. Cuervo. The tequila that invented tequila.
Starting point is 00:00:32 Proximo. Cuervo.com. Please drink responsibly. Cuervo. Start of the day, start of the day, in this year's start of the day. Start of the day, start of the day, in this year's start of the day start of the day start of the day and this is the start of the day start of the day start of the day and this is the start of the day start of the day start of the day Hey. Hey. Hey. Hey. Hey.
Starting point is 00:01:12 Hey. Hey. Hey. Hey. Hey. Hey. Hey. Hey.
Starting point is 00:01:19 Hey. Hey. Hey. Hey. Hey. Hey. Hey. Hey. Hey. Hey. Hey. Hey. Teams in the what are constantly referred to as the four major sports in America so Major League Baseball NBA NFL NHL and
Starting point is 00:01:29 Group them by playoff winning percentage all time all time In the history of their sport gotta be some heavy hitters up here in the NFL. It's the New England Patriots Brady In the NBA, it's the Los Angeles Lakers Expected and the NHL the Edmonton Oilers. In the Major League Baseball, it's your Miami Marlins. Greatest playoff winning percentage of all time. That's what happens when you make the playoffs three times. Four times.
Starting point is 00:02:00 Four times total. 2020 and 2023, but they only played three games each. And then the other two times they made it, they won the World Series. Wow. That's ridiculous. Number two is the Yankees. We welcome in Julie and Juju Gotti.
Starting point is 00:02:17 What's up, Juju? First of all, I wanna ask you, we didn't get any time on the show about this, but me and Tony are on to this Ace Bailey thing. What are your take on Ace Bailey and his draft strategy, Juju? I think basically, you know how the same situation Shadour found himself in, man. It's like the old guard wants you to do a certain thing their way, no matter what it is.
Starting point is 00:02:42 And if you deviate from that path, they're gonna label you now this, they're gonna label you this, oh, undraftable, unculturable. But it's just the fact that he doesn't wanna jump through the same hoops that our ancestors jumped through, our previous people jumped through. And so they're, right, right. So they're just labeling him that now.
Starting point is 00:03:02 But I don't think his drafts stocks are far because we saw what the brother can do. He's gonna contribute greatly to a team. See, Juju, I have a theory. I didn't get to unleash this on the show, but I'm releasing it now on the universe. Number one is obviously Cooper Flack, he's going to Dallas. Number two, San Antonio,
Starting point is 00:03:19 they're probably taking Dillon Harper. Number three is Philadelphia. If I'm A's Bailey, I wanna play in Philadelphia. Do I wanna play behind Embiid and Maxie and Paul George and McCain? No man, I want my show. So Philadelphia, I don't wanna go there. Then the next one is Charlotte. Same thing, LaMelo Ball and Bridges, man.
Starting point is 00:03:39 Those guys are doing like, I got, and what was the kid, Brandon? Brandon Miller? Brandon Miller, like oh no Number five is Utah. I definitely don't know hell number six is Washington Who I gotta beat out below cool about it Do that like and then Washington is like a cooler city. It's closer. He's from Tennessee. It's closer to Tennessee It's close to New York. It's close that land. It's closer all the cool places I think he wants to go to Washington and this is all about him just not wanting to go to
Starting point is 00:04:08 the three teams that pick ahead of Washington. I like it, I can dig it. Even though Washington is never going to compete for a championship. I'm going to put that on wax. In the history of the earth, Washington will never compete for a championship. Book it. Put it on the scroll. This connects to what Jeremy just said about the Marlins.
Starting point is 00:04:28 This is what happens when you only make the playoffs four times or whatever. RIP the Bullets. The Wizards haven't been to the conference finals since they lost in the finals in 79. They haven't been past the second round since 79. Even with Gil? Even with all of them.
Starting point is 00:04:47 Damn. They never made it. I don't think Gil made it out of the first round, to be honest with you. Because they kept meeting LeBron in the first round and losing. No, it's one of those crazy things. That's why Tony Kornheiser says there's a curse
Starting point is 00:05:00 on the curse of Le Bullet. Like there's a curse. So Juju, I hate to take the thunder out of your prediction, but it's kind of like, yeah, man. That's pretty accurate. Right, speaking of taking the thunder out, report breaking news, the Heat are very interested in Jonathan Kaminga.
Starting point is 00:05:20 Guys, what do you think about that? Cum bucket. That's his big thing. I think he said it all. Look, this is the part where I think Miami, and Dan tried to get me in the lightning round about this, and I'm like, this isn't a lightning round topic. If you're Miami, you gotta do one of two things. Either you gotta go take a swing on someone who you think could be great, but no one else really does right now,
Starting point is 00:05:47 or you gotta go get the established guy who's available. Kevin Durant was available, they hemmed and they hawed, was it about needing more than what was reported, more pigs, whatever? Doesn't matter. All that matters is you deemed it not worthy of going after. So the next best thing I think you do is you look at
Starting point is 00:06:05 Jonathan Kaminga, he's a restrictive free agent, he probably doesn't want to go back to Golden State. Truth be told, Golden State probably doesn't want him back. They had an opportunity to play him, and they never really did. He doesn't fit the way they played. So if you're Miami, it's like, okay, it'll cost me some money, but if I can acquire him,
Starting point is 00:06:25 that's the beginning piece of something. And then try to find out what's next after that, what's next after that. Jeremy wants Markkinen. Yeah, I think Laurie Markkinen would be like a perfect guy for the heat to go after, but I just don't know what the market looks like, what Utah's actual willingness to trade him would look like.
Starting point is 00:06:42 If you could, I don't think you can find a way to get him without literally including like everything that they have on the table, including Kalauwear. his actual willingness to trade him would look like. If you could, I don't think you can find a way to get him without literally including like everything that they have on the table, including Kalauwear. And so in turn, I just do think that Markanen and Bam would play remarkably well off of one another, both offensively and defensively. And if Bam is gonna be the stalwart of your team,
Starting point is 00:07:00 you need to put him in the greatest position to succeed. And Markanen's a guy playing alongside him that could do that. So there's two things going on there. Number one is you've gotta deal with someone who looks at this guy as an asset and I want someone to return. Danny Ange, he's not just gonna give you
Starting point is 00:07:14 Laurie Mark Anand. Right, he's the worst guy to deal with. Right? Number two, versus Kamingo, where it's like they don't want him. Depreciated asset. Right, they just like, they just wanna get something for him but it's not like, oh I couldn't give you my Jonathan Kamiga, where Danny Angel will do that with Laurie Markkinen.
Starting point is 00:07:29 Number two is Laurie Markkinen, because he signed that extension, under contract for the next four years, making 46 for, 46 on, 49, what's that, 49.8, and then 53.4. Kamiga's a lot cheaper than that. Yeah, absolutely. So you don't spend as much,
Starting point is 00:07:46 you don't give up as much in the sign and trade for Kaminga versus a trade for Lloyd Markkinen. And he's got some upside to him. Markkinen's the right guy to pair right now with just sort of the guys who are out there. If you're not going to add Durant, you still wanna add a high level player. I think the reality is for Miami right now
Starting point is 00:08:05 is they're in this weird in between because next season they will have such a tremendous amount of flexibility because they have so many contracts coming off the books. They have Tyler Hero in that position, if he doesn't sign an extension now, going in to the final year of a deal and they have one more year to evaluate
Starting point is 00:08:23 what Hero and Bam can look like leading a roster. They wanna make this roster a better version of itself to give them the best chance to succeed. But I also, like, I can understand if their thought process from here, if not getting Durant at the price they want, is let's go into a full season with a similar look. Basically, give the keys to the couple of younger guys
Starting point is 00:08:46 and Bam and Tyler and see what we look like come the trade deadline, whether or not guys have built up their value, lowered their value and sort of evaluate from there because they're in this weird in between phase. Yeah, see to me is like the cost of getting Kuminga is gonna be relatively. It's minimal.
Starting point is 00:09:03 Like as far as asset giving up, right? And that's the thing. It's just, can you get Gonsai to play ball with a sign and trade? So that's the only question to me. But you know, that fits with what you're talking about. Yep, 100%. It's an upgrade.
Starting point is 00:09:19 Upgraded that position, but not necessarily an investment that's too deep into the future. Is BAM to the Lakers a real thing or is it just father This is we're back, you know where we're back. We're back to when Kobe was still playing Every offseason every trade deadline the Lakers led the league in Photoshop's They're the first season the league in that now. Yeah now that I see that now. I've seen Luca one. I've seen. Damn. You'll be seeing Luca all season long, just so you know. Juju, what are the polls?
Starting point is 00:09:50 Before we get to the polls, I have to... Dewana Bronner has been released by the Indiana Fever. What? The legend. She apparently, reportedly, had a couple of disagreements with how her roster position was being handled. She didn't necessarily agree with it. And so instead of trading her, the Indiana Fever has decided to just release her and her destinations of choice, she says is Phoenix or either Atlanta. So you know, I don't have a problem with that. Big news in the WNBA, you know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:10:27 Juju. Katelyn. Duana Bonner, two time champ, that first championship she won in Phoenix. Yeah. You're welcome. You had to look it up? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:10:38 What's up? Did you have to look that up? I knew she was on the team. I knew she was on the team. I knew she was on the team. Come on now. Also, also a big night from the sky. Camila Cardoso, 27 points, Angel Reese, then she had 18 and 17. The fever got the W with behind the big performance from Aliyah Boston last night and Kelsey Mitchell.
Starting point is 00:11:05 Mystics got it done over the, over the number one seeded Minnesota Lynx. Even though Nafisa Collier is not necessarily healthy right now, she didn't get a chance to play last night, but still a great win. And my Dallas, I mean, and my Atlanta dream went down to the Dallas wings last night behind a great performance from the first time star
Starting point is 00:11:24 from Lee Yeroux roof back to you guys back to you juju what's the polls okay the polls for today bought to you by draft Kings do you celebrate your child's six month birthday this is big Tony 92% of the audience says no they don't. Damn. Neither one. All right, Louis. What do you like more, people or your team winning? Also, I was gonna throw this in, friend or coworker, dangerous game. Very dangerous game.
Starting point is 00:12:00 For male. All right. Some say the most dangerous. The game's really, you're a liar because you're just gonna say that the person's your friend because they're gonna listen to it. What about friend or employee? Right, I found out the hard way, co-workers,
Starting point is 00:12:14 neither here nor there. 94% of the audience is your team winning. Of course. Were you afraid that the trophy was going to tip Chet over? 85% of the audience says, yes they were. Wasn't the trophy, it was alcohol that was gonna tip them over. Right. And the last poll, did we inconvenience the Thunder by making them win the NBA championship?
Starting point is 00:12:39 93% of the audience says, yes we did. Of course. Back to you guys. Those are the polls. Thanks a lot, Juju. Thank y'all. Bye.
