Starting point is 00:00:00 You're listening to Giraffe King's Network. Learn more at rbc.com slash support youth. artists and athletes. Learn more at rbc.com slash support youth. A lot of mockery coming through here from all angles on a couple of fronts. One, I saw Stugatz and Jess both working really hard on the fly, improv, trying to think quickly when Jermell Hill was her, that Kamala Harris's
Starting point is 00:00:47 favorite word starts with an M and ends with an A and that she wanted to say to Trump, this starts with an M, ends with an A instead of this former president. They were trying to come up with a word. I heard it sort of ping ponging around the room. It was going to be this mocha. And then as soon as the segment ended, both of them clapped their hands and they're like, Meshuguna. Meshuguna, this Meshuguna would have been the word
Starting point is 00:01:12 to choose there. I was like Madonna? No, I can't, I can't, I couldn't think of one. Maradona. Ah! Yeah, but you guys are making more fun of me for calling it Generation CFB instead of Gen CFB. Two times. What's wrong with calling it Generation CFB instead of Gen CFB. Two times.
Starting point is 00:01:26 What's wrong with calling it Generation CFB? Nothing Daniel. It's proper name. We don't have Gen on that show, so Gen CFB is Generation CFB, right? Who is Gen? Who is Jen? My wife? You got this, Jessica.
Starting point is 00:01:48 Is it not? So it's not called, it's not called, I thought it was called Jen CFB. I thought that's what it was called. No, it is, no, like Jen, but you mean with a G. But he means J-E-N, Jen. Yeah, Jen, yeah, yeah. I thought it was.
Starting point is 00:02:01 It's playing off Gen Z, Dan. I know. What are you talking about here? Making sure you were. But Gen Z is Generation Z, is it not like I understand what we're all on the same page Feel like I never hear anyone say generation Z like it's everyone just says Gen Z So it's like when you said generation CFB, I was just like that's but you also said it Jen isn't on it But then who is Jen's Jen?
Starting point is 00:02:24 I'm sure that you guys were correcting me if Jen isn't on it, but then who is Jen? Who's Jen? Who's Jen? Right. Jess is on it. I'm saying that you guys were correcting me as if, Jen is short for generation. And Jennifer. Also short for Jennifer. Which is the confusion here. Right, yes, yes.
Starting point is 00:02:36 The question is who's Jennifer? Billy, I haven't heard from you in a while. It's good that you decided to get involved here. Well, he's trying to help out. Yeah, yeah, it's real suspicious. I'm trying to organize the pigs for this week on God Bless Football. Mora Kawa.
Starting point is 00:02:47 Oh. He's busy, Dan. Dan, I have a confession to make. I think that our loyal listeners are gonna be really unhappy with that. Well, they already are. This is what they're upset about, Jen. This is what bothers them.
Starting point is 00:03:01 They've had three days here of wanting to taste your tears on Notre Dame, and we have not given the audience what it wants there. And I agree. And I wasn't on the schedule Monday, which I think would have been the best opportunity. And then unfortunately, I wish this hadn't happened either, but Tyree Kill got detained by the police
Starting point is 00:03:25 and the video came out. So we spent the whole show on Tuesday about that. So this is- And the NFL happened, which worked to your benefit. That's true. So this was really, this is the first chance that we've gotten, but then Lucy and I were like, let's do a bit to piss everyone off.
Starting point is 00:03:37 And we went full steam ahead on that because guess what? We get the show. Are bad losses at home, Marcus Freeman's thing. It appears so. It appears that that is in fact his thing. And you can write them off in year one. Year two, he lost to three pretty good teams,
Starting point is 00:03:55 but one of them was a very winnable game at home against Ohio State. But in year three, it's harder to make excuses about it. I don't really know what there is to say other than Notre Dame's got a big quarterback problem. I know what to say. Belichick? I wonder, Jessica, if people, what they want from you
Starting point is 00:04:14 is just to sort of know where you were, how it impacted you, how bad it ends up feeling when the biggest home loss of the season so far is your team. And we know that if that had happened to Mike, we would all be jumping up and down on his neck. And so people want to know how it is you experienced that. Mike is also a booster at Miami, so kind of a slight difference there.
Starting point is 00:04:41 He's also here on Monday. But he didn't go to Miami. I don't make the schedules, Dugats. He didn't go to Miami, you went to Notre Dame. True. I was actually, my sister was in town, she moved back to the States, she was living in Madagascar for like six years,
Starting point is 00:04:54 so I haven't seen her a lot over the last few years. So she came in town and I thought, hmm, this will be a fine weekend for her to come to town, there's a lot of football on, but Notre Dame's playing Northern Illinois, so if I have to miss some of the game, it should be fine But then I made the crucial error during the Texas A&M game I bargained with God and I said God if you let Notre Dame win this game against Texas A&M
Starting point is 00:05:16 They can lose to Northern. I don't care. I want to win this game And so I spoke that into existence and I think it's actually my fault So not only did I watch the game I watched like half of the game with my sister who was like, what's this? What's going on? Who's that? She went to Notre Dame by the way. She just isn't, when it comes to sports, she's like an alien.
Starting point is 00:05:34 She doesn't know anything. And my brother-in-law who's not from America who also was like, so there's four downs and I'm like, I can't do this right now. So I was like, let's go to a bar with no TV And I'm not gonna watch this and I don't care what happens I'm gonna put my phone down because I already bargained with God and I know this is not gonna end well for me This is your fault. Who does God like and Bill's dolphins minus two and a half. Mm-hmm. That's a really good question I'll have a chat with him later tonight and figure it out Let's be honest Notre Dame losing while it was a bad loss. They can lose two more times and still make it to the playoff
Starting point is 00:06:04 Yeah, that's why college football is ruined, Dan-o. I mean. Well, why is it though? Because Lucy says she doesn't wanna hear from anybody when Iowa loses. Lucy said that she didn't come after you when Notre Dame lost, but I do feel that part of one of the great joys in sports is coming after your friends
Starting point is 00:06:25 when their teams lose unless your friends are so they care so much that they're actually heartbroken by the result and now what you're doing is not funny it ends up being cruel because they're already defeated but the key to doing that is your team needs to win in their case both team lost like both of their teams they they both lost. So she's gonna make fun of her. She's gonna make fun of her. No, but Lucy says she wouldn't.
Starting point is 00:06:50 Lucy said whether her team wins or loses, she's simply not going to do that to Jessica. And man, we stepped in it with Sarah Spain. Do you remember when the Marlins and the Cubs were playing? Sarah Spain didn't think any of that was funny when we were just teasing her about games she cared about in a way that was unreasonable. And I don't think that your fandom for any team, and do I have this wrong?
Starting point is 00:07:10 Because you actually watch all of this with a smirk, but I thought that your fandom for Notre Dame was stronger than it is for most teams. You're, the thing is, Dan, like, once we get to Wednesday, I'm now at the point where I'm like, this is deeply and darkly very funny. And there's like, it's the kind of fandom
Starting point is 00:07:31 where Notre Dame could lose this game every week for the rest of my life, and I'm not really going anywhere, so like, ah, oh well, f*** it. But the audience doesn't like to hear that, so I'm gonna start fake crying. Just take a minute. The audience feels like it was denied your tears for three days. Let's see you suffer!
Starting point is 00:07:52 You know what it's like to be in a Catholic school, let's put her on the crucifix and have her suffer! I want Jen's tears! Yes, Jen! I was crying Monday, but I wasn't here.
