Stu gots mentioned Stephen A Smith and I enjoyed this weekend just sending the following text to Stephen A Smith with no context about Shannon Sharp. Shannon Sharp was having sex. That's the Stephen A Smith show.
Starting point is 00:01:01 Shannon Sharp was having sex. Available on YouTube. Shannon Sharp was having sex. Tells it how it is. Always. It's an interesting place in sports broadcast. Steven A. A lot happened last week. What does it all mean? Thank you. It's an interesting place in sports broadcast. Stephen A, a lot happened last week. What does it all mean?
Starting point is 00:01:26 Shannon Shaw was having sex. Thank you. A couple of things from the weekend in sports that shouldn't be and didn't get dwarfed by football. Caitlin Clark continues to set every record. She had like six minutes to get ready for the WNBA. The first two games were filled with rioting and mattresses burning and everybody going crazy and now she's just breaking every record. Yeah so she broke the all-time scoring record by a rookie. She's also broken the all-time assist
Starting point is 00:01:59 record by anybody in a season not just rookie. All-time three points by a rookie and not a Caitlin shout out but Asia Wilson scored a thousand points this season never been done before and she's three rounds rebounds away from the all-time WNBA rebound record in a season so they're both having remarkable years Caitlin clear favorite for rookie of the year Asia MVP or we riot but now now that Angel Reese is hurt and we can't make it about the bird Magic race war that we were doing between her and Caitlin Perhaps Asia Wilson can climb into a conversation that merits her place in the game as being more excellent than everyone else I think she's already there. I think it's pretty consensus that going into the season. She got snubbed for MVP last year
Starting point is 00:02:42 She is the best player in the world like straight up in the world. But not talked about that way in the discourse outside outside of the sport I'm talking about people who are coming to the sport to arrive and talk about Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark the way that they're arriving and then discovering Asia Wilson because they're being introduced to everything that we're seeing. You're right that in the center of the sport everyone's known this for a couple of years. She's the MVP, but she's the third most famous person in the sport. Is she not? Yeah, probably, but I would say it's growing rapidly and like no offense to the people
Starting point is 00:03:15 outside of the sport, but like they're really not talking about it that much in general. So like her stock is going up significantly. I think the Olympics helps that. She got a signature shoe deal, but it is unreal what she has done this season. No one has ever scored 1,000 points in a season before. And it was really cool. She was crying in the locker room after talking about
Starting point is 00:03:34 how much her teammates meant to her. She's wonderful, amazing, and once again, if she doesn't win MVP, we have to do something really drastic. I don't know what that'll be. E. Greg Cody's toenail, probably. I endorse her for MVP. Other thing from sports, Stugatz, that was a big loud noise this weekend was the UFC in the sphere in Vegas. Dana White, the circus carnival barker, does a great job
Starting point is 00:04:01 of promoting things. And so he promised a bunch of things that didn't end up being as wonderful as a viewing experience as perhaps he had promised and then the fights at the end were not aesthetically pleasing and one of his big stars maybe maybe his biggest star right now Sugar Shane O'Malley gets knocked gets defeated in a way that was boring because the wrestlers can take over that sport and make fights uninteresting to watch. I can't speak to the fights, but I can speak to that venue,
Starting point is 00:04:31 and at least from what I got on social media, Mike, it seems like everyone was thrilled with this fear as a venue for a sporting event. I'm sure they were. It's much better. There's always impressive videos that find their way way online and they look pretty incredible on social media And then that place and then you get there and you realize wow, this is Something even though it's impressive online something doesn't translate it has to literally be seen to be experienced
Starting point is 00:04:58 Sean O'Malley credit to him. He went up against it. He took a fight against an opponent that is Difficult for his skill set. He still went, tried to win that fight and make the people happy. O'Malley only a favorite in that fight because of his star power. Like he was a very small favorite at and a lot of the popular money was coming in on him only because he is great and famous, but this was a style everyone in the sport knew would be a problem for him And he was dominated. Yeah, O'Malley is a legitimate star inside that sport the buy rates Back that up and the fact that he was a face of this ambitious card also suggests that but I would say that Dana White did a lot of hyping up for this thing saying that he was gonna do things that no one had never seen before and
Starting point is 00:05:43 outside of actually running an event there a sporting event there I actually left a lot to be desired this guy was taking shots at the NHL draft for having like static images up there I was actually hoping for a cooler experience I I know that he was trying to tell a story and there was narrative based stuff and it was trying to tell the story of fighting and I caught all that stuff admittedly I didn't watch the card. I had other stuff going on, but I thought everybody would be blown away by this canvas afforded to them. And it wasn't really all that impressive. Greg Cody is a strange person for a number of different reasons, but high on the list,
Starting point is 00:06:22 I would nominate the way that he shares hash browns when he's eating them at McDonald's. Serial killer shit. What do you mean? I was at his house over the weekend and as one does, Uber eats some McDonald's. And he had a hash brown and he wanted to split it with my mom, very nice thing. And he cut it long ways down the middle, and I said to him,
Starting point is 00:06:47 if I gave this hash brown to a thousand people, I think probably two or three are cutting it that way. And everyone else is just diagonal. Diagonal, you're diagonal guys, right? Like a sandwich. No, a little triangle. It would've, I would've gone the other way, the exact opposite of that.
Starting point is 00:07:01 Wow, that is super weird. Like when you have a sub and you're splitting a sandwich, how do you cut that, you cut it the long way, the exact opposite of the other. Wow, that is super weird. Like when you have a sub and you're splitting a sandwich, how do you cut that, you cut it the long way? I might. Yeah, all right, all right. Put it on the poll, put it on the poll at Lebatard, show sharing hash browns, do you cut them vertically or do you cut them sideways?
Starting point is 00:07:18 Why is this in, no, it's diagonal. Diagonal. Diagonal. Diagonal. Nobody does diagonal. Everyone looks at the points and they cut it into a triangle. No, nobody does diagonal. Most surface area, best bites.
Starting point is 00:07:28 Yeah. You guys are crazy. Most surface area, it's the exact same surface area. No. It's more. No, it's more. Yeah. And then you have the two corners for the perfect bite.
Starting point is 00:07:37 It's literally the same amount. No, no, no. You cut it evenly. No, it's not. If you cut it evenly, like I'm precise. You know, if I had a scale capable of doing it by the 10th of an ounce, I would win the 50-50 scale contest when cutting anything, a gourd, a sandwich.
Starting point is 00:07:59 I've seen that, I've seen on social media that there are competitions out there of like, you have a piece of cake cake and we're having a competition To see if you can cut it exactly in half and then you weigh both sides of the cake. I would excel Now everyone knows that's how you cut a gourd like that. That's irrefutable We're not debating that but I you cut a hash browns clearly diagonal and I felt like you could try to frame this Conversation as if there's only two ways to do it vertically and horizontally and then you guys showed your own asses only one diagonal guys horizontal bag no it's the heck down the middle horizontal that's it you had a sandwich
Starting point is 00:08:31 diagonal I'm trying to confuse things with the gourd talk and it's not gonna work out I know how to cut a gourd yeah it didn't even need to be said by do you know how to protect a fort do you know how to hold down my second command that's why I put my second in command like that's why you climb the rings with Porridge you get Lamar Huntley Tyler Huntley Was having sex Black quarterbacks are named Lamar. You called them sugar Shane earlier
Starting point is 00:08:59 Shannon Shaw was having sex
