I'm in a baseball chat and I'm not a huge baseball fan, but this is how I followed the sport and in the baseball chat why are you with so many chats we should not call this the baseball chat I'm a little upset at the baseball chat because it's been co-opted it's now a Marlins chat it should be a bet I had less interest in just an exclusive Marlins
Starting point is 00:01:00 chat like during the World Series I was one text that flew by mm-hmm This is I I'm in this chat as an educational thing other people inform me on what's going on It's actually I'm I just entered a darts chat. It was amazing. I don't actually have to follow darts other people follow it for me It's hugely informative, but okay someone dropped in a Gabe Kapler video in the group chat And I learned through this video that Gabe Kapler is in Miami right now. And he has a job with the Miami Marlins. He's assistant GM. And he put out this TikTok video, which I guess he was trying.
Starting point is 00:01:38 Well, you know what? I'm going to play it and just gauge your reaction by it. OK. You're trying to decide whether you're gonna walk somewhere or Uber or drive and Google Maps says it's gonna take you 10 minutes Be a car. It's probably about right, but if it tells you it's gonna take 15 or 17 minutes to walk that same distance it could be wrong All you have to do is walk fast and maybe you're cutting that down by three or four minutes So don't let that make you get in the car.
Starting point is 00:02:08 Just walk faster. The eyes. He's right, he is right. I always cut the Google Maps walk time by like two or three minutes, because I know I outpace it. Is this supposed to be one of those male influencer type hype videos?
Starting point is 00:02:30 This is all mindset right now. Your mindset needs to be you need to walk faster and you can apply that to everything in life. Is that what he's going for there? He's got the chin for it. I will tell you, New York and Chicago, like if Uber said, I will always walk. I will not take a car. It takes longer to deal with the traffic. Oh, I would much rather walk than go into those subterranean tunnels and ride a... The subway? Yeah. Disgusting. No, Jess, I'm saying I'd rather walk the streets in Chicago or New York City to get, you know, from point A to point B than taking Uber. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:02:57 Yeah, that's, I mean, that's, of course, to God's, Uber's cost so much money and they're so inefficient. Not just that, in those cities you can turn down a street that you think is wide open and all of a sudden you're sitting there for 35 minutes. If on my ways it tells me it's gonna take 70 minutes to walk to this place or 40 minutes via public transportation, in New York especially, I will walk.
Starting point is 00:03:22 Ugh. His maths way off though, maybe it's different in New York. Like in Miami, I just did an example. Like Marlins Park, Lone Depot Park, it says like a 12 minute drive from here. It says 46 minute walk. Walk faster. This is not a walkable city.
Starting point is 00:03:35 I'm just saying, his math was like, his math was like 10 minute drive. If it says 17 minute walk, I'm just walking. It's like, that's never the math. Can you replay the video because I'm pretty sure there is no sidewalk where he is walking at the time? And we don't have to do it with, we don't have to do it with sound. Like, I don't see a sidewalk.
Starting point is 00:03:51 He's on the sidewalk. Well, look at this one point where a car whizzes past him. This is not a walking city. Welcome to Miami, baby. Yep. I think the sidewalk has a curb and then there's the street. Okay. But there, in Little Havana, especially,
Starting point is 00:04:03 there's plenty of streets that don't have actual sidewalks I think his point was more so that the drive time is always right because you can't really control it But the walk time you can you can just drive faster. So just walk walk Even if you drive faster than we'd always that's the thing about all of these apps They're also the time's always changing so you never actually remember what it was when you started and it's always Exactly, right? It's cheating did he just leave space that looks like it's like 8 a.m. And he's just like I'm walking home space, you know if you just walk fast he's on Northwest 7th Street He looks damn good though. I mean it looks kind of like Julian Edelman a little bit. Yeah, I don't see it
Starting point is 00:04:40 I don't see it at all. No, like I with a beard put it up talking to me I don't see it at all. He's just white guy with a beard. Put it up. Talking to me as if. I bet a Julian Ellman right there. I mean, Julian Ellman would be very happy that you just said that. Mike seems offended.
Starting point is 00:04:50 How did he become an assistant GM? Wasn't he a manager? This is like a weird career move. We don't see this often. He was a manager a couple places, right? Wasn't he in Philadelphia and San Francisco? You usually see those guys except like bench coach roles, but now he wants to be a front office.
Starting point is 00:05:04 The rare skip right to be a front office. The rare skip right to assistant GM. Yeah. I do like the hat though. I mean he's quickly assimilating. And Rick Ross playing too. Yeah. Okay, walk faster.
Starting point is 00:05:18 That's the cue. Walk faster.
