Starting point is 00:00:00 You're listening to Giraffe King's Network. Welcome to the big, sweet, presented by Giraffe King. Why are you listening to this show? The podcast that seems very similar to the other Dan Levitard podcast. I'm sorry, I'm not going to apologize for that. In fact, the only difference seems to be this imaging. I have been tempted in restaurants just walking past tables to grab somebody's fries that if they're just there.
Starting point is 00:00:34 That hasn't happened to you guys. I've done it. And now here's the marching band to nowhere, that face and the habitual liar. Billy, how do you feel about Jessica snubbing you for the Emmy for Best Rant in the first hour of the show? Because I've asked Jessica this before and she denies it. I have said, your kinship, your alignment on commonalities, it's closer to Jeremy than it is to anybody else around here. Correct? And she said she's not sure, she's not ready
Starting point is 00:01:05 to determine that, but it seems like she aligns with him more often in terms of sensibilities than anyone else here, but it might be an indictment of everyone else here, not that she's actually that close to Jeremy. It depends on how we're determining this. Like, that was a private conversation also I should add, and I'm just asking you, like, is this like a stranded on an island situation
Starting point is 00:01:27 like who would I want to be stranded with? Because I don't think it would be Jeremy. No, I wouldn't want to be stranded with me either. Yeah, so fair. None of us would. Jeremy, I get it. I also think at times I have a little bit of a Billy kinship in terms of playing the role that likes to piss you off.
Starting point is 00:01:44 So I don't know. it's a tough question. And also Lucy, I love Lucy. No one's ever said that before. Billy, what are you objecting to there? You don't understand this role that I exist to piss you off. I feel like I just exist. If you guys get pissed off by me, that's like you guys. Like, I don't know what to tell you.
Starting point is 00:02:02 Put it on the poll, please, Juju. Does Billy just exist or does he exist to piss you off? It can be a thing. Like I could be doing something that you find annoying and it's not me trying to annoy you. It's just you are annoyed by what I'm doing. What do you mean? That's a great question.
Starting point is 00:02:20 Who's more annoying? Put that on the pole as well, Juju, Jeremy or Billy. Oh, why did you, that's really or Billy. Oh, why do that's we know we all know how that's gonna come. Yeah, we do. Yeah, we do. Well, bullying welcome new comer. Thanks. Um, well, I'm a democracy. I'm allowing the audience to decide. I'm not deciding for them. I've also been here for two years, Dan. It's a democracy. Uh, Billy's been here for close to 20. No, I'm just not, you know, newcomer. I just believe like spiritually, Jeremy's rant was something that I really identified in and believed.
Starting point is 00:02:52 I fully agree with him, whereas Billy's rant. Thank you. Ripping Dwayne Wade. Ripping Dwayne, right. I did not rip Dwayne Wade. He just wants to honest something. I did not rip Dwayne Wade. It was a great rant, but I don't necessarily agree with it
Starting point is 00:03:07 he wants honesty statue also like if we're gonna honor you can we just give you all the presents at once like what what is this like these honors are on layaway with the heat or the hard times what's going on here to just give them the statue and give them the this and then that and just let okay let's next they're not going to give you regular season games that matter by forcing Jimmy Butler to play in them instead of load management so they'll give you special nights of nostalgia to make the regular season. Go in the IST now.
Starting point is 00:03:35 That's what makes this. The bills did it recently and it went really well. We didn't talk about the fact that the Ravens honored Ray Rice. How did we not talk about it? I was so afraid. How did this happen? That actually happened. Yeah, the dolphins the Ravens honored Ray Rice. How did we not talk about the way? How did that actually happen? Yeah, the dolphins game. They honored Ray Rice.
Starting point is 00:03:48 I thought I got balls. I thought that was a ball sack. No, it's real. I really enjoy people listening to this, not having any context for, I thought I got ball sack, but I am delighted to see that young people are now being ball sacked in the the media it's not just me it's also a manual at show oh that was that was tough he liked he posted up so let's be let's be fair i get ball-sacked all the time i got i was last week that's an unfortunate
Starting point is 00:04:19 sentence you're right oh how do we how do we fix this uh... how do we find another word other than Balsac for what happens to me, whatever, I don't care. Fools by the internet. Last week when Jared Mayo was hired to be the New England Patriots head coach, I announced it to the room. And then Tony was like, that didn't happen.
Starting point is 00:04:36 And I was like, oh, crap, like, did I get Balsac? Because honestly, it's so annoying now, having to like go and make sure it's Adam Schefter and not Adarn Schefter, like, and this has been happening for years. This is nothing new, but it is harder now, having to like go and make sure it's Adam Shepter, not Adarn Shepter. Like, and this has been happening for years. This is nothing new, but it is harder now, I think, on Twitter because there's no verification badges or whatever. So, Emmanuel Acho saw a tweet from a guy who posts a lot of like parody content where he's
Starting point is 00:04:57 trying to like fool people about Caleb Williams, posted it on his TikTok, and it was not true. It was about like him not wanting to get drafted the Bears, which has like been a whole thing, and now he's declared for the draft and make it draft to the bears anyways. And Acho posted a tick talk about and got called out and he was like, well, if I post stuff on tick tick talks, not a serious app, so it doesn't matter. And then he deleted that tweet. So it was like a whole thing and it just goes to show how Anyone really can get ball sack Dan even young young people even people working in the media who should probably double check Make sure they're not getting ball sacked people like me people like you all of us. We're all we all may be victims Well, let me let me ask the audience something here because video please give give me the I
Starting point is 00:05:46 Guess I'm gonna call it a commercial for Donald Trump that I Was fascinated by because it seemed like something out of fiction It seemed like something Saturday night live would do if they had Donald Trump on as a guest and before we play that I just want to ask all of you because I know it's a silly, fun thing in sports to have people fooled and to be trolls and who fool media members and embarrass them. So I know that that's not a serious thing.
Starting point is 00:06:19 But I grew up being warned by my grandparents and my parents about something that I couldn't have possibly understood at the time, which is communist propaganda and the skewing of facts and how it is that you get people to be sheep in silos that are believing things that aren't true because you can fool them or because you create media arms that are government-owned and it becomes hard for the people to know what's true and what isn't true. I know in sports, it's a silly thing. I know that I ruin all sorts of silly fun sports conversations with my seriousness and
Starting point is 00:07:00 my fear, but as we head into an election where I think all of us... We're here right now, by the way. We're here right now, what? Having that your fears take over the sports conversation? Yes, I'm aware of that. That's why I'm articulating it. As I do so, thank you, though, for always being helpful in that regard. I know that you're not interested in annoying me at all. I know that that's a thing that you try not to do all the time. You're not an anarchist in any way. But I grew up around the idea that propaganda and misinformation were things to be feared because people cannot tell what is fact and what is fiction. When I saw this Donald Trump thing, I thought it felt like something out of comedy. Watch this, if I'd want to find
Starting point is 00:07:48 it funny if I could find the danger in this funny. Look at what's being sold here and tell me it doesn't feel like something you'd see not from a presidential candidate who might be favored and might go to jail, but something at 2 a.m. from somebody who doesn't have any money and is just trying to trick people who can't sleep during their televised broadcast into giving him money for something that's not worth money. Hi everyone, this is your favorite president, Donald J. Trump, with some very exciting news. My last two Trump digital trading card collections sold out in just hours, and now I'm back with
Starting point is 00:08:23 my latest series called the Mug Shot Edition. I wonder where that came from. The Mug Shot Edition. 47 all-new stunning cards, and here is the best part. I'm doing two important things for my Trump collectors. For the first time, we're creating a real physical Trump card. Purchase 47 digital cards and will mail you a beautiful trading card. It is an authentic piece of the suit I wore when I took that now famous mug shot. And it was a great suit. Leave me a really good suit. It's all cut up and you're gonna get a piece of it. I'll be autographing some of them. A true collector's item. This is something to give to your family, to your kids, grandchildren.
Starting point is 00:09:05 With a purchase of 47 of the Trump digital trading cards, you will also be invited to join me for a Gallaudetter at my beautiful Mar-a-Lago, my home in Florida, and you perhaps heard of it, become a pretty famous place. We just had our first dinner for my collectors and we had a lot of fun together. That was a great evening. that was a fantastic evening. Some people call these cards pop art or modern art I wish I looked as good as I do on those cards that I can tell you they give me muscles where believe me I don't have them. I wanted to keep my trump digital trading cards at the same price $99 each. So go to collecttrumpcards.com. It's really easy to buy.
Starting point is 00:09:48 They sold out incredibly fast the last time and I think the Monkshot edition will sell out even faster. So don't miss out. We'll all have fun together. Have a good life. Have a good life. Game over in Jersey.
Starting point is 00:10:03 That's an SNL skit now. I mean, it feels like it does it not I think Jeremy's response is the correct response to have his mouth hanging open Billy What are you thinking over there as you slink it? Ridiculous. I mean it's you're gonna get a piece of it. The jack- The dollar Z that's a commitment man 47 for 99 dollars. Give it to your kids. Give it to your grandkids It is weird though like if like a hundred years from now that's the family heirloom that's getting passed down right. So mug shot suit. It's no different than the old Confederate flags
Starting point is 00:10:31 I got passed down. Wonder where they got the mug shot thing from. Jeremy do you have the Emanuel Ocho? I do. The thing that is so I'm so shaken by what we just watched. It's just completely insane. I can't even get my thoughts together. But the Ocho thing, the part that was wild about after he was found out for having fallen for this fake report was that he responded to a tweet where someone said, so you purposely post fake news for clout and money. And he said, nah, in the event it was a fake.
Starting point is 00:11:04 I posted it to the least serious website because no lives are being lost based on that post but either way real or fake the video would garner traction which would increase followers more followers equals larger brand deals understand so the patronizing nature of which he's saying that but then also basically admitting yeah I don't really care if it's fake because we're gonna get engagement for it no matter what. That part is where it starts to get a little bit dicey when your job is legitimately tractioning in sports news.
Starting point is 00:11:36 I don't know, Emmanuel Acho, Kugler, would you do me the favor from South Beach sessions, please, and find me the sound of Marcellus Wiley talking about his relationship with Emmanuel Acho because when you talk about cloud chasing I remember the early days of at ESPN I heard some stories when Acho was learning how this business works he was a little more sensitive than he is now, a little less learned and a little less calculated about how it is that you end up getting the attention. Because in the present media economy, I'm not sure it matters how you get the attention. If you're learning at the knee of Skip Bayless, or if you're learning at the knee of skip bailess or if you're learning around skip bailess,
Starting point is 00:12:25 I'm not positive right now that you're not better off just chasing. If that's what you're interested in, if what you're interested in is followers and don't care about the infamy, if what you're interested in is increasing your profile, even if you have to do it occasionally with shameless chasing I'm not totally positive that this isn't the new Media currency the new media economy is how do you get attention got more people fighting for the attention than ever before How do you go about getting it you You can make yourself a joke sometimes, even if it's not a laughing matter.
Starting point is 00:13:07 But he is too in. The Dan Levitard Show with Stugots is sponsored by BetterHelp. They call the event 70,000 tons of metal. It's more than that.
Starting point is 00:15:29 Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. It's a lot of metal, man. I mean, listen to me, Roy. I love Miami. That music has made me consider moving. You're talking about more of like that. BROP! BROP!
Starting point is 00:15:42 BROP! BROP! BROP! BROP! BROP! BROP! BROP! BROP! BROP! BROP! BROP! BROP!
Starting point is 00:15:50 BROP! BROP! Like that. DC's the Don Limitahtar Show with their stugats. Chris Cody, you just had a very unique experience with Poppy, Poppy wandered in. Everybody was thrilled to see him, Poppy seemed wildly indifferent about seeing everyone else. How did that go with you?
Starting point is 00:16:12 You're explained to the audience your most recent experience with my beloved Poppy. Well, I don't want to be too pushy. So I'm kind of doing the thing of like, all right, Poppy, we're ready when you are and he kind of gives me the, huh, so I'm like, all right, he's gonna start walking this way and I look back over a minute later and he's just kind of like looking at a picture and I'm like, all right, Poppy, we're ready when you are and he kind of gives me the, huh. So I'm like, all right, he's gonna start walking this way
Starting point is 00:16:25 and I look back over a minute later and he's just kind of like looking at a picture. And I'm like, all right, did he not get my mess? So I do the thing, I literally just repeat it. All right, Poppy, you can sit and still got to just so two of those I've done. And then that next time he takes like four or five steps, I'm like, all right, this time he's definitely coming
Starting point is 00:16:38 and I look back 10 seconds later and he's once again, just kind of like, and I just got the feeling does he not want to go in there? Morning, Poppy. Morning, everybody. Morning, good morning. That was a very curious headphone cell that you've got over there.
Starting point is 00:16:51 Yeah. Yeah, the headphone goes over the year. You have the outside part on the inside. Oh, okay. Yeah, there you go. He's out of practice. He's rusty. He's been in retirement.
Starting point is 00:17:00 And when Chris Cody was calling him, at various points comedically, one of the things that was funny is that he's like are poppy and poppy is in exactly the same place and then he looks again and that poppy is in the same place but also eating a Danish with no no interest whatsoever it seemed like on coming on and being on with us so what was happening there poppy i thought you'd be thrilled to come in here and rip the dolphins no first i got to pay
Starting point is 00:17:25 attention to the spread. I like that spread. Yeah it is. We didn't have that at the point there. Not the point there. Okay, I'm so spread. I want to spread with the dolphin. That's a different part. He's not against the spread. He's for the spread. He's very much. For the spread. Pastelitos. I love those ones. I know. I know. You know. You have to file a complaint. I couldn't find a croqueta. You know, that's my weakness. Yes, I failed to, again, we didn't have any breakfast at the Cleveland and now we have breakfast, but they're not good enough because they do seem a little cheap
Starting point is 00:17:58 and they don't have croquetas. But we thought that you'd be coming in raring to go to just see another dolphin season and the way all the dolphin seasons. And we thought that you'd be wanting to run to a microphone to tell everybody that you've been right for 25 years. Well, I mean, that goes without saying this, you'll say, and they're still talking about the perfect season. They will revert back to the perfect season.
Starting point is 00:18:24 You know, I just feel sorry for these dolphins fans, you know, I mean, their hopes they get real high, they buy dope kind of things, you know, hats and t-shirts, the old marine t-shirts, you know, jerseys, you know, even pants, you know, and they will happen. Oh, they come out strong out of the gate. They should in the helmet, hoppy. And then all of these so that when it keeps down down to the home wire and it's not losing games, I have always said that in order for the dolphins to win, they got a plating hat weather. That's a tropical weather team. You know,
Starting point is 00:19:00 what I mean, they got to change the playoff to June, July and August. team. You know what I mean? They got a change. We play off to June, July and August, 30 dolphins to make it. Put it on the pole, please. It's not fair. You know, that you practice and you play at home, 95, 102 degrees, and then you got a face and shape, you know, 40 below, you know, in Kansas City. And you expect the dolphins to win. Did not take him long. He's cooking now. cooking now should dolphins fans boycott buying team merchandise until they want to play off game poppy. Oh, they want to play off game I'm not sure not my lifetime. Oh, well, yeah, I mean, I see Dan Marin on the
Starting point is 00:19:35 silence. Maybe that's what they have to get rid of you know what I mean. Whoa. We're blasphemy against the legend. You're on Billy's side here. Billy thinks that the statue that the heat should put outside the arena is a more honest statue of the Rachel Nichols interview with Wade and LeBron. James commemorating his best moment with the Cleveland Cavaliers. That's what Billy thinks should be the statue. That is what you'd say.
Starting point is 00:19:59 I said it'd be funny if they did that. They do have an actual problem with the Wade statue though, like if they're gonna be a historically accurate because you would think the one that they would make is that this is my house one, right? But he's wearing an L-heat jersey. So are they gonna make the one heat statue him
Starting point is 00:20:16 wearing an L-heat jersey? I was surprised that he got his statue and he got a so-called T-shirt retirement type of move you know after what he did to the heat. That's right. He's finally some sense in this room. No, it's true, you know. He left us, you know, he went to a Chicago, Chicago, the booths and from the booths they figured out he couldn't do anything else. I traded him to the Cavaliers and the Cavaliers figured out after three or four games he couldn't do anything else
Starting point is 00:20:45 And then he went back to them. I'm like, yeah me and there was a godfather, you know with this arms open here Come my son. I'm waiting for you back to your home And I'll be something got a statue on everything. You don't think you should you don't think Wade should have a statue I leave that for the masses to the side a statue. I leave that for the masses to this side. Sounds like you have sounds like you have some opinions here that are aligned with billies that are I'm surprised I don't hear very many Miami people being anti-weight. No I'm not going to. Neither am I. I'm just telling you what happened. Pro truth exactly right we're just stating the facts and yeah we leave it up to the masses to decide if they make statues or not you're too much of a politician
Starting point is 00:21:32 big-sized classic put it on the pole is poppy not anti-weight but just pro truth at Levitard show uh you don'tis Haslam is mad at me, Poppy. Let's play the video here from his podcast with Mike Miller on this podcast incidentally. He walked back slightly what he said about Bleep Bill Russell. He said he would like to apologize to the family of Bill Russell for saying Bleep Bill Russell when it was said that the heat would retire
Starting point is 00:22:04 the jersey of Bill Russell. But he said those mother bleepers in Boston, those fans, he's not apologizing to them for anything, but I hadn't heard what they played for me here when I got in today, which is he's still holding on to something here from 25 years ago that I simply don't remember. Before I even set foot on the basketball court, there was an article written by Dan Levertaud I love you, Dan, but you tried saying that shot can never win with a powerful six seven six six six seven Now mine you're six seven and a half anyways. Yeah, but I'm just one with Travis night So what the cuz you talking about You know single me out. I kick Travis night ass seven days a week and twice on Sunday
Starting point is 00:22:41 So like for that just right there instantly that you see how I am I don't I have not asked seven days a week and twice on Sunday. So like for that just right there instantly. And you see how I am, I don't, I have not forgot that. What mother of the fuck is don't understand is, you tell me I can't, I'll show you I can. That's right. I love that. I love that. He's a mommy guy, I love his mom, I love his dad,
Starting point is 00:22:56 I love Poppy, I love his show. Yeah, it shows off. Yeah, it's all the time, but then try it. That's it, I mean, that's my man. I'm your man, I'm supposed to be your man. I'm your son. That's different. You these three or five. Why'd you say that about you, Deba? I don't remember saying that about you. I'm not totally sure. Can you guys find it for me?
Starting point is 00:23:20 It feels like it's way pre-internet, but I don't have any recollection of saying that or writing that, but he's told me that a number of times before. Udonus Haslam, the most that I have ever seen Udonus Haslam laugh, and I've been covering him since he was in high school, was with my father on the set of High League Questionable. I came out of an area and found, Udonis Haslam, was being held up by my father's shoulder because of how hard he was laughing on my father's shoulder as they were watching some of those Highly Questionable rap duo things that my father did with some of the rappers that are celebrated in the 21 Savage movie trailer. Can we get the movie trailer real quick and show the show, Poppy? Because I don't think, Poppy, if
Starting point is 00:24:10 you've seen this, you don't have any idea. We talked to 21 Savage on a highly questionable, but you don't know anything about 21 Savage. Okay, well, he's a famous rapper and they had in what looked like a movie trailer, a spoof recreation of highly questionable of us interviewing 21 Savage. And I want you to look on the screen here of the person that they've chosen to represent you. That is you. That is an actor representing you on the highly questionable. Does that look like you?
Starting point is 00:24:45 Do you think that that's an affair and accurate representation? I'm not sure. I never had a most highly questionable right? I had the glasses. My hair wasn't wide. It was kind of in between grade and why, but it wasn't that wide. So I don't know.
Starting point is 00:25:02 They got the eyebrows, right? They got the eyebrows, right? Yeah. probably they got a good deal with the guy You know what I mean? You think they got it? But you got a minute discount you think they got a discount poppy there. That's right. They got a health discount You got it looks like he's a desperate really okay? He's a desperate actor to take To take that role. Yeah, that's but just looking for a big splash. I think that he made a big splash. Are you offended? Do you want to? No, I don't want to. You don't want to create beef with 21 savage. No, I don't want to get into that. I don't. Oh, that's a guy that's 21 savage. No, that's
Starting point is 00:25:38 me. That's me. That's your son, dad. That's about two 21 savage. Where'd you come from? Who's the guy on the left? That's Bomanic, dad. That's Bomanic, okay. That, does that not look like the set of highly questionable to you? Certainly, they got the palm trees, right? That's right, they got that,
Starting point is 00:25:59 but they're missing the water though, you know what I mean? They are. What do you think about fake Dan? Who was treated like that? I like his hair though. Yeah. Who is the most reason to be bothered by the way
Starting point is 00:26:13 that we have been portrayed there? Is it you? Is it me? Or is it Bomanic? I think that is Bomanic. Yeah. Yeah. No.
Starting point is 00:26:23 No, I think they got B Romani exactly right. Oh, yeah Right, yes, I think it's I think that you have reason to be bothered by that and I have reason to be bothered by that I think Romani should be flattered by that appraisal of him. Okay, whatever you say this fine with me All right since when popping since when since about five minutes ago Okay, since I gave you a Danish gave you a free day but no croquitas no croquitas as they say no croquitas right the people miss you pop it they want to know how you're doing people want to catch up on how it is you're
Starting point is 00:26:55 doing you're enjoying retirement mom says you're sleeping a bunch you're sleeping too much according to mom you'll see not here and there that's all you know love a good nap that's, that's all, you know. Love a good nap. That's right, after my lunch, you know, you should go for a nap and I sleep for a bowl, for five hours. What do we have for lunch? What's lunch? What do we usually have for lunch, Poppy?
Starting point is 00:27:15 It's not a nap. It's a black bean, some rice, but it's... Oh, yeah. And that's what I love. Can't leave without that. Mom could live without it because the reactions that you generally have to black beans are the cliched reactions to black beans. Mom complains anytime I bring you black beans. He's all right.
Starting point is 00:27:33 You know this. Gene never mentioned that to me. Hard to believe. I like a lot too. That's perfect for that seat. He lies a lot. Are you a prodigious father? What was that?
Starting point is 00:27:50 Why'd you put on your South Beach sessions voice for that? Are you a prodigious father? Being a vicious boy. That's a big word. I'm just a playing footer. That's all. Garden variety. Done. Lebertard. Give me a favor, Chris. Look up Gerald McCoy's IMDB and let's see how many stats
Starting point is 00:28:14 do gods get right about what Gerald McCoy? IMDB. Look at movies. Look at them to check it out. Check out Gerald McCoy's IMDB. His profile focus grade. Stugats. Okay, so I'm out Gerald McCoy's IMDB, his profile focus grade. Stugats. Okay, so I'm on Gerald McCoy's IMDB. There was an acting credit in which he played Gerald McCoy in The League, which was a popular show on FX. Then he played himself on the Dan Patrick show in episode 12.4, 2018, and also something called
Starting point is 00:28:42 The Game Day Commute. He played himself. Archive footage, he was featured once on Roman's Burning. I mean, look at that. 2012.4 2018 and also something called the game day commute he played himself archive footage he was featured once on romance burning I mean look at that this is the dan lebertar show with this two gods I was talking about a manual acho and what marcellus wiley had to say about him but when the king arrives everything stops everyone gets out of the way, and Poppy eats his pastries and his Danishes, he's back over there, he's left, he doesn't want to participate
Starting point is 00:29:11 anymore. It's kind of feeling a bit like the end at highly questionable when he just sort of said, I don't really want to do this anymore. Not interested in the celebrity and the fanfare, I just want the post-delete those. But what I was saying, because I was surprised, I hadn't heard this, I was talking about how it is, that you can gain attention and currency in the fractured and modern media market where there are so many people fighting for space at the trough and Marcellus Wiley apparently took a manual
Starting point is 00:29:47 at show under his wing and you tell me because he was pretty matter of fact about the business of this, but it sounded cold and dirty even though he didn't seem terribly bitter on South Beach sessions. You understood that he was gonna do things on the way to start him that you weren't willing to with the take Look I was not bitter and I'm not bitter at what he did
Starting point is 00:30:12 And a lot of people want me to be bitter at what he did. I said no, I'm not now how he did it That's the conversation if you want to have that I get Icho and Icho and I are working together all great but I get Acho and Acho and I are working together all great. But few weeks into it, just from hell low. I've known Acho for years, I met him before, kind of like in the more of a like, I'm in the industry, he wasn't, he was just leaving school and we stayed in touch, new him from his ex-girlfriend blah blah.
Starting point is 00:30:43 And I'm like, all right, you imagine working with somebody a few weeks and then you get a call. And I got a call from two people, boss and co-worker. Hey, what's going on with your show? I was like, what do you mean? I'm just trying to do another show with his brother and all these other cats and trying to get you out.
Starting point is 00:31:04 Man, we good. I tucked that away because that's who I am. I'm not going to hold that against you, but I'm going to watch. Remember, I just went through this with Whitlock. So we basically went almost two years of him giving me the dab in my face, but behind working. And I didn't put up any resistance because we weren't fighting for the same thing. So when it was time to move on, I wasn't mad at what he did
Starting point is 00:31:34 because I was like, I can't go to coach, to say, coach, give me the ball more. If you wanna give me the ball more, it wasn't that kind of dynamic. He wanted what I had, what we had. Now, if he were to went about it, like Max did, but first take, soon Max got to call from Stephen A, Max like Marcel, what's up? I was like, doll, what you think? And I was like, well, what you think? And we went back
Starting point is 00:31:55 and forth many of times. That's what I wanted. I didn't get that out of Whitlock. I didn't get that out of our show. And I wasn't mad at either one for what that was, which is how it was. Wittingham and Jessica are young people competing in the space to get noticed, to have a career, to have a future in this business. And I was delighted to hear the other day, Jessica, that even though, waiting him, can be the strangest of individuals, that he just came over to your house in his free time long after having left here, because you guys are still friends after having worked together,
Starting point is 00:32:38 even though he's got to be one of your strangest friends. He's definitely one of my strangest friends. In fact, I invited him over to watch football football and he's great company during a football game. I should say American football, not the type of football that he's been doing play by play broadcast for. He actually, we offered him T and he had his own T-bag in his backpack, which I thought was weird, but other than that, very normal hang. Is it strange? Was he looking down on your tea? No, it was more so that he wants to drink his throat coat
Starting point is 00:33:14 to protect his vocal cords. And when I was like, did you seriously bring a little baggy with your own tea? The room turned on me and was like, you're an asshole. He's protecting his vocal cords. Like, of course he's bringing his own tea. And then I was treated like I was the weird one for thinking that he was weird, that he just casually had
Starting point is 00:33:32 his own preferred tea brand in a backpack that he brought over to my house to watch in NFL game. Well, you're an excellent baker. If you offered him something that you had baked and he said, no, thank you. And then went into his backpack and got something different out of there. I believe you are offending the host. You're not... Ron McGill has told us the story of when he was eating with an indigenous people. He is eating
Starting point is 00:33:57 strange animals on occasion just to be polite. Not quite the same thing, but I see your point. It wasn't my own hand harvested tea. So I wasn't offended that he didn't want my tea. I'm more so like, when I go over to someone's house to watch a Cowboys game, I might bring my phone, my keys, maybe a tube of lip gloss, and Whitty to come over to my house had a backpack with a laptop and a bag of throat coat tea. I just thought it was a little strange.
Starting point is 00:34:32 It's a vibe killer. I think he was coming from work to be fair, but I'm not going to be fair, because it's Whitty, and I want to roast him. I think that that is something that you should be polite about with your host. How much better could his possibly be, his tea at throat coding and career protecting of his voice than your tea? It says throat code in the name, which is huge for branding. In terms of making you assume it's better?
Starting point is 00:35:00 Is your tea called throat code? No, it's just tea pigs. It's very good tea though. I miss when Woody was here. Everyone used to be a lot nicer to me when he was here. That's true. He was too out, by the way, for a while. And he still is, I believe. I can't believe that Woody gets stranger in absence than he was when he was here.
Starting point is 00:35:23 Mike, you know him better than anybody. I don't think that you have betrayed him. He's always been strange. I don't think he gets stranger in absence, not at all. No. He's more things that would make us assume he's a serial killer would pop up if he were here constantly, although I'm very proud of him. He's a good boy. I wanted to ask you guys something. I saw something that happened the other day at the Las Vegas airport because it made me think of Woody because he was so delighted. One of the happiest times I've ever seen him is that on the way out of Las Vegas, he won airport slots. And I think the Las Vegas
Starting point is 00:35:57 airport leaving is one of the saddest places in the universe, leaving the Las Vegas airport. Now keep in mind, you're getting your ass kicked by Las Vegas the two or three days before that. And that airport and its slot machines, the people who are hiding in the corners where they do the caged lepers of smokers in the corner. And the old, and now this, my information's dated because I haven't been to Vegas in a while.
Starting point is 00:36:23 But those slot machines outside of the gate make me sad. The people playing at them, all of that stuff, just the rest of their money. But somebody the other day, on a $3 slot machine, $1 million, $1 million. And you do what if that is you? Obviously you're missing the flight, right? You have to, uh have to I get Caleb downs in the portal. That's for one I'm trying to figure out like
Starting point is 00:36:51 Am I cashing that out at the airport like how does that work? Yeah, you go to TSA I'm very skeptical and I'm all for the Hail Mary Right aboard right before you board the red eye at the slots like I'm down. I had this budget. I'm down to my last seven bucks. Let's let this puppy ride that and when you hit on it, you were better feelings in that. No, those last seven bucks in Vegas are sad. The last seven bucks that you just throw you never feel more alive than when they're pulling the chips away, right? And if you somehow make money, it changes your entire attitude towards the trip that you
Starting point is 00:37:29 had. I'll always, if I've like, let's say I'm going to spend like 200 bucks at the casino, I always save like 10 or 15 bucks for like one number on roulette at the end. Like it's like, all right, I have 200 bucks here and willing to lose, play a little black jack, maybe a little craps, down like 150. So now I have $50 left that I'm willing to lose. I turn into the most aggressive gambler. I start betting for the bigger,
Starting point is 00:37:49 like I'm trying to hit big now. Now it's like, I've already basically in my mind lost this 200, so I'm gonna take this last 50, I'm gonna put $10 on five numbers. So if I hit a number, I'm gonna like win way more money than I would have. Responsibly. Right.
Starting point is 00:38:01 This is why the casinos in Las Vegas famously are very large. Oh, you've never won that, correct? I've hit numbers. Responsibly, right. This is why the casinos in Las Vegas famously are very large. You've never won that, correct? I've hit numbers. Yes, I've had, I mean, am I up, Dan? No. But have I like pulled out a win at the end by just hitting a number?
Starting point is 00:38:15 Yes, I have done it before. You put up a win at the win with that. Oh, we went on a heater on absolute tear in Tahoe. That was great. We were hitting on numbers at the tables. And then we went on Crap's absolute tear in Tahoe. That was great. We were hitting on numbers at the tables. And then we went on Crap's. We had a nice night.
Starting point is 00:38:29 Oh, that was a great time. The heart six. I mean, the heart six. Oh, the heart six. And then the vaccine ruined everything. Yeah. Billy, Chris Cody asked me something earlier that I did not know the answer to, which was,
Starting point is 00:38:49 do you have any idea, Dan, what billy's neuroses are headed to Vegas for mass Vegas and the Super Bowl? I didn't know the answer. He assumed, he assumed that you are plagued at all times by whatever it is that your anxieties are, but I didn't know how to answer his question as to how anxious you were about what we're doing in Vegas for the Super Bowl. I'm not, I don't think I'm saying I'm anxious, I don't know where that's coming from. No, I'm saying, I'm asking, I think that, I know you're dealing with Stugots the most, and we're doing it a big undertaking, so I'm just imagining, I haven't spoken to you about this, that it's gotta, you've got to be the most stressed of all of us heading into this Vegas trip
Starting point is 00:39:26 If I'm gonna be perfectly honest with you I don't want any of you going to the Super Bowl like that is just a fact me to it's just kind of like The dolphins didn't make it so none of us will it's just it kind of throws off what like you know We do it the Super Bowl now. There's like a whole other thing And I'm not least people and all these other responsibilities. Like, okay, well, you know, don't forget who was, you know, doing the gritty with Mac Jones, all right. Some of us have been to the Super Bowl before, you know.
Starting point is 00:39:52 Well, I'm just saying, we planned, like, radio row, we can't do anything, because we planned the shows when it's prime time, baby. Radio row, so like, now we're just hoping, like, the lizard man is walking by Tuesday at 9 PM over there. We're not gonna be anywhere near radio room. No, I know, you're not,
Starting point is 00:40:07 because you are the idiot. But I needed to be at radio room for the Friday show that we need to put out and we can't get those guests now because they're gonna be doing the other shows. But the main shows could be incredible. Yeah, no, that's gonna be great. No, that's gonna be fun. And if you wanna reserve your spot,
Starting point is 00:40:20 head over to cirkalausvegas.com slash levitard. We're doing shows on February 8th and February 9th, blown away by the early signups. Keep it going because the more you sign up, the more power we have over cirka swim. It's kind of like, you know how you like your friends, but you like to go home where your friends aren't. It's like that a little bit, you know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:40:40 Is it just, is it just Dan that you feel this way about? No, it's just, you know, you really want those 10 minutes with Stefan Diggs talking about Subway. Yeah, I love that. I like those interviews. I like talking to them about whatever they want to talk about. It's fun. Boom, boom, boom.
Starting point is 00:40:54 Is it an out one after another? It's a special quality to asking BJ Rajee about 1-800-plowers. I feel headed into this the way that I heard Jason Kelsey feels about the Tush push push and Jalen hurts Confirm this. This is a direct quote of what Jason Kelsey yells as soon as he snaps the ball a direct quote from Jason Kelsey on the push. He screams in the middle of that FOOT MY LIFE! Hey, it's Mike Ryan. I love football and I love Miller light.
Starting point is 00:41:27 Why do I love Miller light? Well, the penable flavor, the fact that it's a beer that tastes like beer, the fact that when I'm having a Miller light, I don't have to think for one second about the beer that I'm drinking. And I know that it's only 96 calories and 3.2 carbs per 12 ounces. It's my favorite beer. I believe in the product. You might be sick of hearing me talk about it, but I'll be talking about it till I'm old and gray because Miller Lite is with me wherever I go no matter the season. And especially the winter time. I love drinking Miller Lite during the winter, it's because when it's cold outside, I don't need a cozy for it. It says a perfect temp. It is the best beer and it pairs well with Playoff football.
Starting point is 00:42:05 Miller Light, great taste, 96 calories. Go to MillerLight.com slash Dan to find delivery options near you or you can pick up some Miller Light pretty much anywhere that they sell beer. Taste like Miller Time, celebrate responsibly. Miller Brewing Company, Milwaukee, Wisconsin 96 calories and 3.2 carbs per 12 ounces. 3.2 carbs per 12 ounces.
