Just and I just kicked out not one of our bosses, but two of our bosses to be here and film this unnamed segment for you guys. And Taylor is not here because he couldn't find

a paper bag to put over his head. So Billy Gill is here. So Billy, way to go, kicking out John and Dan. I can't believe you guys did that. I was so scared. Who did it? Who initiated it, of course. No, you can't. Yeah, it sounds. Sometimes I'm in there and I'm trying to like, like, attention of this room and I'm like, waving and banging. Yeah, they were. They were. It was so serious of a conversation Dan took his hat off. And that's when Mike point has had the bright idea.

Why don't you guys put on the studio lights as like a hey, we're getting ready to record. So then we did that and they were like, whoa, what's going on? And then looked up and I was like, I did like that. I pointed at me, pointed at you, pointed at like, we got up like, and then they went out and they were like, oh, John was like, I'm so sorry, you should have told me you were using the studio. And I was like, oh, I'm sorry for interrupting your very, very, very, very, very, pretty, pretty sure.

I was doing impressions, Lucy. Yeah, and I was hiding in the back the whole time. Can I just really quick before you do like college stuff because I don't want to waste you have limited time today. So I have a grid of death punishment that's dressed like John Skipper and I almost did it on Halloween. But my dogs ate my glasses. No. So I couldn't do it. And that's why you didn Skipper, and I almost did it on Halloween. But my dogs ate my glasses, so I couldn't do it. And that's why you didn't have a costume. And then he showed up.

And I had never been happier than my dogs ate my glasses because I could have been dressed as him, and he just surprised showed up. And I would have been him. Nothing more rattling than when he surprised shows up. Like today I got sent to the penalty box after my against the spread picking of Clemson, which we'll get to.

Not fair. And John is like, so did you pick Clemson? And I was like, what, you're here? It was very jarring. He scares me a little, but not in a bad way. And just I'm new here. And you're up to your mind. You're high up Lucy.

If it were up to you, how long would you have been waiting? I was prepared to move in. Yeah. I am my impatience. I admire that. As soon as we came in and we saw that they were in there, like, this might be a while. And she's like, I'm giving them five minutes. And then that's my studio. Okay. Thank God. That's why this segment works, though. If it were me, we would never record. We would just be here. I didn't want to waste Billy Gills' time.

Yeah. Baloozy, what happened last weekend? We'll do like five minutes of that and then five minutes previewing what is about to be one of the best weekends of the College Football Schedule Year. The big thing from last weekend was Kansas beating Oklahoma.

I did not see this one coming, but I wasn't necessarily shocked by it. Kansas and Jason Bean, great name as well. Jason Bean! Jason Bean! Almost be Oklahoma two years ago and you just kind of felt like Kansas was going to funnel this one. They did it. I'll sort of that, not a ton of upsets, which makes me really excited for the next few

They will correct itself. It was Kansas's first regular season when over a top 10 opponent since 1995. Lucy, before I was not alive, before we were born, wink, kind of.

Right around the time I was born for being honest, doesn't matter. I'm not one of those people who's afraid of my adjutant while I'm doing this. Anyways, you're right, Jason Bean. It looked like at the end of the game, like Kansas didn't have the juice. Like he threw a pick, I think, to go up in like three minutes

left and then they got the ball back, made Oklahoma go three now and they scored on a game winning like 80-yard drive. It was beautiful, it was a beautiful thing. One of the weirdest parts of this game is we're now at a spot where Oklahoma State controls its own destiny to the big 12-chapy chip game. Boy, how are you?

Who are states in competition for the big 12 championship game. I don't know what is going on. There's a five way tie. It's crazy. The big 12 has really shocked me when there's been some really big stinker results, like especially Oklahoma state. And now they've got a running back who is putting up numbers. And we're gonna see him play this weekend in what is the

last of the bedlam series of the big 12 era might be there might not this weekend once Oklahoma or once Kansas beat Oklahoma and Oklahoma had the loss over over or the win over Texas text speed Alabama. I went and found the funniest transit of property win South Alabama over Alabama. I well I love I love the to the state 33-7. I love the transit of property in college football. It is so stupid. And it is college football playoff committee ranking season. The first ranking came out on Tuesday.

We both are not super into dissecting the rankings this early in the season, which I have found. I appreciate that we're not dedicating 12 minutes to that Lucy. It's, this is the initial set. Everything will correct itself. Teams will win, teams will lose. They will figure it out. I'm not going to lose my mind.

I think we all think Ohio State isn't the best team in the country, but we get why we're there. It's fine. It's okay. Yeah. Ohio State number one was kind of surprising. Penn State had 11 kind of surprising, but then like you kind of like work your reasoning backwards. You're like, all right, well,

if Penn State's 11, then it justifies them putting Ohio State first. But if Washington's five and Oregon six, how come they're not higher? Because they have the best win. But you know, you could put your brain in a pretzel trying to do all of it, but it's October. So we won't Penn State should never be ranked above 17 until they've beaten Ohio State or Michigan. I just, I can't trust them over that. They are always the 17th best team in the country. I mean, I think that's perfect. I love that about you.

We are the same. We really are. Uh, Brian for it. Brian Farons. Yeah. Give me your, give me your like little mini-speel on how it feels right now to be an Iowa fan. It's a weird time because something about this firing is, watch Kirk-Ferris press conference this week about it.

They went over his head to make this decision. Kirk obviously was not going to fire his kid. That's kind of why we were in this position in the first place. The interim athletic director went over Kirk-Ferris's head and fired Brian, and it like as a courtesy, which she didn't say this, but we know as a courtesy, he's there through the rest of the season. so I don't think he's going to be back next year. He doesn't seem very optimistic. Is there like a coup happening right now in Iowa athletics? It, I would say somewhat the last athletic director there, pretty much Kirk Farence had his way with him the entirety of his tenure. So Iowa fans are collectively really excited about this new athletic director. We hope she gets the full-time job, get rid of that interim title.

She's amazing. Someone needed to do this, but Kirk very hurt, very upset by the fact that this happened in the middle of the season. It's going to be an interesting offseason for Iowa football. Was she like, this is going to make me so popular? It's, she definitely lost the most powerful man on campus to support, but the rest of the state, like I would wear a Beth Gates t-shirt right now if I could. Well, thank you, Beth. Thank you, Beth.

I'm picturing people in Jacksonville with martini glass, and they just go fill it up with cocktail mixers, but I guess that's not the case. That's a disappointment.

That's what I thought. It was a very beer heavy day. We were given some jello shots, which was nice, but cocktails didn't find them. That's upsetting. I know what that was about. Georgia also beat Florida shocker. They're good at doing that. They're very good at that.

They're very good at that. There was a big result for Louisville this weekend beating Duke, blanking them 23-0. Right. Now Louisville's got a pretty quality win, so that's something that is good for them, because we talked about their schedule not being like the most difficult of the ACC schedule. So they have to win all their games, and other than losing to Pitt, they've won a lot of games this year that will propel them in the rankings. Another weird conference like finale sort of deal.

We're probably going to have a Louisville of Florida state, ACC title game hell. We can throw Virginia Tech in there potentially. Technically. Fourth in the ACC. Very weird conference. It's very weird. The big 10 West has a four way tie. The big 12's got a big tie at the top now that Oklahoma's lost. The ACC, I just, if you look up the standings, you'll be like, huh? It's just a

very weird season so far in terms of like a few marquee names missing and a lot of like, like we were saying, transit of property wins and losses that make things very confusing. The weekend upcoming Lucy, you're going to be potentially in Oklahoma, potentially in Alabama, but this is probably one of the better college football weekends of the season in terms of games that will matter in regards to conference championships and the college football weekends of the season in terms of games that will matter in regards

to conference championships and the college football playoffs. Yeah. Bayon M. LSU is really interesting. I don't think this game is as close as the as biggest things it is minus three for Alabama seems kind of crazy to me. Alabama, Jaylen Melrose, certain hit is stride. He's playing a lot better. He doesn't look like Jaylen Melrose in September of the offensive lines to less some issues.

LSU's defense is bad. This is like a revenge game because Brian Kelly beat Alabama last season. And Tommy Reese now is the offensive. Tommy Reese, uh, Brian Kelly's former quarterback, uh, back when I was in school and then former offensive coordinator. So these are two coaches that know each other's tendencies very, very well playing against one another and Alabama right now. If you kind of like wrote them off after they lost to Texas.

I did a little bit. I think a lot of people did because they were playing uncharacteristically against South Florida and against Texas even. And they are still right up in there in terms of where they are in the SEC West. And so this is a game that really matters for them. And if they win it, they're going to be a favorite for moving into the playoffs. Oklahoma State, Oklahoma, last bedroom. That's really sad. I didn't even realize that. That's a few days ago. That's it. That is a great rivalry that is ending. And I didn't realize it until all this weird stuff for

the big 12 happened. How much of a stake it has on the playoff on the big 12 championship. Oklahoma loses their out. Oklahoma State wins. They pretty much control their destiny, the Big 12 championship. They don't have a super tough schedule remaining. There's gonna be a lot of bad blood and still a lot of this weekend. Yeah, Washington and USC is a game that I, after USC lost to Notre Dame and Utah,

kinda wrote that off, but Washington has struggled the last few weeks, played a little bit closer to Stanford than you'd expect and then of course the Arizona State game two weeks ago. I think the committee has kinda dinged them for that. So they not only need to win, but I think like this, they need to put up style points

for the rest of the season. And USC, they have not thrown in the towel and given up. They had a really close call against Cal. But there's like Caleb Williams is still capable of doing Caleb Williams things, unless he sits out. And yeah, well, he's not going to do that. So that's another game to watch this weekend. And there is an exciting, I don't know if it will be exciting at the end of the game,

Missouri, Georgia, match up, which is now going, now a top 15 match up based off the College Football Playoffering Games. That feels weird to say. I also think this is a course, correct game. I think we're going to have another Kirby smart just kick the crap out of somebody because there was no one happier in the entire world when those those rankings came out than Kirby smart being like everybody. Everybody. Everybody. We have adversity. They're selling all of us. We're only the number two team in the country. Now what do

you believe in on bulletin board? He is the real, so I think Georgia wins big. I think Missouri is good, but we're starting to see what happens every single year in college football where you hit November and everything starts to separate. The top, it's very obvious who is up there and it just becomes a whole lot of middle after that. And I think Missouri is top of the middle. No matter what happens this weekend,

I'm excited to hear what Tyler from Spartanburg is about it. I'm so excited. I can't wait. Please bet the Iowa under. Stugas is going to be there. That's going to be a gross nasty game. What is it? Like, right now it's 29.

mmm really good I'm waving to you I'm waving yes this is the down lebertar show with a stugats I want to go over the Panthers week right now. We are recording this on a Thursday to be released on Friday. So we're going to miss talking about the Game Buses the Red Wings, but we are going to

talk about what happened on Monday between the Panthers and Flyers. The Panthers lost an overtime three to two. I think I went to a two nothing lead in the first period. But of course, they had Sam Bennett in the lineup and then he got hurt and then things changed from there, David. Yeah, it's never good when this team has to go without Sam Bennett. We saw last season late in the year. Bennett was hurt. The Panther struggled. Bennett came back for game two of the playoffs and they took off this year. They've done okay without him, but certainly

we've been waiting for Bennett to pop into that lineup. He was in there for all of, I think, seven minutes of Jane time and he went out. It just sucks for the Panthers. Roy, there's no better way to paint it. Hopefully he's not out for that long. Can I jump in here before we get it before I get into Benny and I have a lot of thoughts on Benny.

Um, the Toronto group back together. Oh, look at us. The three of us. Even Danny. Danny was there. Danny was in Toronto. Look at us. Just back together. Where are we going this year? Probably back to Toronto. The all-star game is there. Oh, yeah. But I like cold. Probably now you just reminded me of our all-star

game party experience. Man, we just said we have a good time last year. Yeah, man. And the Panthers made the final. Oh, what a good year last year was. We were spoiled. We went. Are the Panthers now last year? The Panthers were a good team. Obviously made the stand-up final. They were bad on the power play. Yeah. This year doesn't seem much better. I think make me feel better about the power play. I think it's early in the season. I think the central sample. Pretty small. So, uh, but I think it'll even out, but right now it's been often on. There's been a couple of games where the power play has shown decency. They've had good puck movement. They just kind of finish.

Yeah. They've shown flashes of greatness. And I think with this, you just got to look at the cast of characters on this power play. You've got Barkov, Kitchuk, Reinhardt. You've had Evan Rodriguez to the mix. All of the recommend Larson. He's been great as a quarterback to this power play. And that's what he's done throughout his career. I think that there's so much talent, Chris. Yeah. It's only a matter of time before they start to break it. I have, the jury still is out for me on this Rodriguez guy.

I don't know, and I know he's a nice player. I don't have a lot, I'm not as a guy that really just follows the panthers. I don't know him that well. I don't know, I've seen some good, same things I like. He seems like he's fast. Yeah, he is fast, and we lost a lot of speed when an Anthony declared that.

That's basically, like, that's the switch, right? He's taking do Claire's minutes, right right in terms of like shifts and stuff. Just saying just as a Panther guy I'm not I'm not fully there yet. I hope to see more from him. Back in the the Bruins game I want to talk about the Charlie McAvoy match penalty. You got a major for 30 play. Major for check a legal check to the head. He got the game esconduct and the league automatically reviewed that and gave him a four game suspension. He's a repeat offender. So I guess that's what a four games came in right? He is once before I think it wasn't during the playoffs actually. There was another instance that he was suspended for. But yeah, I mean, just look at that game. It was a repeat of offense offense in that game. There was a hit in

the first period where he had a card of a Haiti in the head, and that went on notice, then for Haiti had the pucks, you could argue that maybe there's a little bit more, you know, should have, but you should never hit a guy in the head. Right. Yeah, it just always lived my life. Yeah.

Yeah. When she was a kid, and she, there was a story about it and the herald and everything. That's how she got on the Zamboni. That's why they have those ridiculously high nets now. Yeah. And they go, have you noticed how much higher those are this year? Oh, I get how? All the way up to you guys' thing and the press box, it seems like.

She was like a few, like last year, it was high, but a player could throw a puck over it. Now, it's not even, you can't even throw it like up, you have to give a, like you can only give pucks away now on the sides of the ice because behind the nets, the netting is, is double the height. Maybe you guys don't notice it from here where your vantage point is I noticed it from my seats. I love what it is.

We had an old man, your child's come to Jesus type experience where like, are we just trying to look at each other. You and Sarah disappeared to the dance floor, and God, you know, have a great time. I wouldn't put it that way. It was just, we stayed around the, like, moved closer to DJ Paul ID, and you guys were like,

yeah, you moved closer into the party. And what do you guys, I call when we were doing dancing, we were just kind of staying in. Why don't you and you and I was like, I was somewhere around each other. A classic fist pump situation is what was going on. And Roy and I were huddled next to the bar.

Yeah. As soon as we finished our drinks, we're like, you want to get out of here? Yeah. This is scary. The one moment I'll take from that is you ordering drinks at the bar inside that club. I mean, you just took somebody else's spot. Oh, yeah. Hooked up against this guy.

Lately, you were boxing out, man. It's like a long zone warning. It's a fight you. And I was ready to fight Hill. Okay, the penalty box doors open again. We have ourselves a new five minute major and Sarah Sivian from the bleach report and the co-host of Too Many Minus joining us.

And the last time we saw you, Sarah, was at a nightclub for the all saw game. We didn't last long there, but you happen to stay there. Can you go over that night again for us? And already, the drinks are ridiculously expensive. But what do you think? So we're just having red bulls, some of us, some of us are doing the red bullbaga.

I'll admit, I had one. And then all of a sudden, some of us, some of us are doing the Red Bull vodka. I'll admit I had one. And then all of a sudden out of nowhere, Paulie D shows up in a golden night's jersey. If I'm not mistaken, he's a golden night's fan. But he showed up and he showed out. And it was like, everybody went from zero to 100. Correct me if I'm wrong. Yeah, I went from zero to a hard stop.

I like, I crashed into something. Well, part, I don't know how that happened. That was a jarring experience. Yes, it was. It like the music, the bass went through my entire body and soul. So we have to escape. Yeah.

Yeah. Yeah, the fighter flight kicked in. Yeah, some of us thought, some of us bought. Well, you and Cody, you and Chris like, beeline for the middle of the dance floor. You were gone. I saw your drinks up in the air, but you guys were out of here. Roy and I just looked at each other like, dude, do you want to get out of here? Yeah. I still had my backpack from the event. And somebody let me put it in VIP. So I'm just

like, tossing my backpack. I'm like, guys, it's Paulie D. This is a huge moment. You didn't miss a beat. I will say he looks as young as ever. Well, we miss playing a beat so we're about to set poker table. We were feeling it. We're sitting at this bar and just like decompressing. Our bodies are still shaking from the base from the club and we're just like trying to drink and calm down.

And you guys were in there having a blast. So I have to say, the highlight of that day was still meeting your cat. Oh, Mojo says hi, by the way. Mojo's the real star of the show. Uh, um, I want to talk about the, uh, the Bruins game the Panthers had earlier this week. Uh, Charlie McAvoy.

What happened, man? What you just scored a goal and you come out immediately after and give a head shot to Oliver Ekman Lawson. Like, why? What happened? First of all, the Bruins One game eight, so that was the most important game. Yeah, one of the two game nine.

That's a boy I would say he deserves more than four games for that. That was egregious. And we need to start talking about intent, right? A lot of the time in the NHL, something that needs to change is that, OK, if a guy's bleeding on the ice, if a guy has to leave the game, if a guy's can cuss, then you give a harsher punishment. I don't think that's the way to go. And I

think things might be changing slowly but surely. And back in the day, you might not see a four game suspension for something like this. I still think it should have been at least five send a message early in the season, right? But I guess we'll take four. And now the Bruins have harsher opponents coming up as compared to their easy slates. We'll see how they do without McAvoy, but that was just wrong. It's interesting what you say there about playing the result. I feel like that's something the NHL kind of does not in the best ways to where they'll

wait for something to happen. I mean, you know, the Pride tape is an interesting way. They'll do something. People freak out. People get upset. Oh, you know what? Let me, let me, let me backtrack a little bit. As opposed to in this situation, like you're saying, a guy gets hurt,

who cares, like not who cares, but whatever the result's gonna be, if he got hit in the head and he's on the ice and he's getting mental attention, that should be enough right there. That should be, that's end of sentence. It doesn't matter what happens after that. Absolutely.

And the events of last week with Adam Johnson kind of drive that home more, it's just kind of, you've got to, we got to be careful out there and we have to treat everything preemptively, like there should have been more paramedics there. There's a lot that we can go over with that situation, but the NHL and Allhockey leagues do need to take safety more seriously. And I mean, McAvoy for a game, that's probably more than the usual what he'd get for that. And I hope he's one of the best defenseman, one of the most new age, but hybrid from the old age to defenseman, like kind of he has it all. And I wish he wouldn't do some of these dirtier plays that he's a sneaky perpetrator of plays like this. And I hope he's still pretty young in his career. And I hope this is a wake up call that, okay,

let's clean it up a little bit. Not to switch gears too severely on you, Sarah, but one of the things that I think you're known for, one of the many things is your, your amazing fashion reports, the style rankings. I love them. But I did send you, I texted you a picture, a couple pictures before we got started here, and we're gonna show them to everybody after the fact.
