Starting point is 00:00:00 You're listening to Giraffe King's Network. Welcome to the big, sweet, presented by Giraffe King. Why are you listening to this show? The podcast that seems very similar to the other Dan Levitard podcast. I'm sorry, I'm not going to apologize for that. In fact, the only difference seems to be this imaging. I have been tempted in restaurants, just walking past tables to grab somebody's fries
Starting point is 00:00:33 that if they're just there. That hasn't happened to you guys. I've done it. And now, here's the marching man to nowhere, that face and the habitual liar. Mike was lamenting the lack of upsets in college football. And there may not have been a giant top five upset this weekend, but Jordan Travis' injury makes it so that FSU season is over.
Starting point is 00:01:01 I can't on see the injury. Unfortunately, I was watching it when Nagandhi and Bugger went to the highlight. They had no idea the highlight was going to end that way to see an entire bottom half of the leg sticking out in a different direction. I told my wife and I told my two daughters who are home for break. I said, don't seek out the video. Two of them listened to me. The one that didn't reach all regrets ever seeing that video. It was horrific.
Starting point is 00:01:28 Hip drop, the hip drop tackle got Jordan Travis, who's been there for what, five years. And it does ruin a special season. A quarterback that they have there, you can't have the kind of the same kind of faith in him. He's been on the roster for a long time. They have a pretty good idea of what he is. That was a bummer to see.
Starting point is 00:01:46 I do wonder if the committee will factor that into the equation. They're not supposed to. They say that they would, you know, that they don't usually do that, but don't you have to factor that into the equation? They're starting quarterback and best player or one of their best players is not going to be there for the playoffs.
Starting point is 00:02:02 The reason you can is because Ohio State won the championship with its third string quarterback. Right. And fair point. If they go undefeated, and you have to reward that season right then. You have to, but I don't think they can go undefeated, though, I don't think they have Florida left
Starting point is 00:02:17 who's also got a backup quarterback in that game. And that's Florida, by the way. And then they have Louisville has to beat Kentucky in a rivalry game. That's not Florida, by the way. And then they have Louisville has to be Kentucky and arrive a real game. That's not going to be easy. But let's just say both favorites go on to advance to the ACC Championship game.
Starting point is 00:02:32 That's a top seven Louisville team at that point. If FSU has a win over a top seven team, you have to reward their season. An undefeated ACC team with big time wins over LSU, who the committee has shown you, despite their win loss record really rates and a Louisville team that retrospect what a weird loss to pit that that team deserves to be in there you can't just penalize them because they have an injured quarterback getting back to the The hip drop tackles we've seen throughout this NFL weekend them claim
Starting point is 00:03:00 Jordan Travis in college mark Andrews and pros on Thursday nights. Like, this tackle is a big impediment to the game because when you're running and your momentum is taking you one place and then you've got a guy who's 250, 270 pounds, stopping your momentum and then dropping you down. All that's down there is your legs. You're going to get so many more things poking out of place with those tackles. It's terrible. It's the same exact thing that they were trying to eradicate with the horse collar. It's the same exact thing.
Starting point is 00:03:26 It's the hip drop is worse than the horse collar. But it's like at some point, you're leaving the defense no options. Like I'm with, obviously it's a gross tackle. I'm not in favor of the hip tackle, but you've taken so many things away from defense. Where can they hit them? When you're, I get it from the front,
Starting point is 00:03:39 you could just tackle and wrap up, but when you're chasing someone down, how do you tackle them if you can't? That's just how you do it. Wrap them up and not drop your hip. You can wrap somebody up. Easier, I think it's a much easier said than not. Sure, but when you look at it,
Starting point is 00:03:51 it looks like a malicious tackle. And I'm not here to tell you, I'm the UFC guy, I like violence, but I'm here to tell you, when you swing your body weight around and you know what's down there as an ankle and a knee, like that is a terrible tackle. The conundrum is you're trying to make a violent game safe. It's not possible. It's not
Starting point is 00:04:09 possible. The conundrum is these players are all getting bigger, stronger, faster, scientifically medically, and the game already wasn't safe, and no amount of rule changes is going to make it safe. But Dan, is it fair to say that they're not trying to make the game safe? They're trying to make it safe for, and we have seen quantifiable numbers throughout all levels of football, and by trying to make the game a little bit safer, some major head injuries are going down, certainly with horse collars. You don't have the example of someone's season being ended by a horse collar tackle,
Starting point is 00:04:42 because they've legislated that with the rules. Seems like a losing battle. What if you try to make the game more dangerous? Because going safe for your never going to win, right? You just have everyone admit, hey, this is never going to really be that safe. There's always going to be crazy injuries. Let's just stop the charade. Wasn't that the XFL first thing?
Starting point is 00:05:02 Let's make it more dangerous. But guys, just so you're aware,FL's first angle more dangerous and just and like but guys just so you're where we're making it more dangerous so like we can't say we don't know what we signed up for you know what you're signing up for more dangerous and then once everybody knows and everyone's on the same page this is going to be more dangerous the bar of danger well you can't feel gross watching it because you can't say they didn't know they knew we're saying it right now the most dangerous high-up how dangerous it is it'll seem less dangerous exactly no matter what happens it'll be a lot done if anything and maybe safer what would you do to make it more dangerous what would I do yeah because you're the one bringing the the idea to Roger Delay let's make it more commissioner of this less less pads
Starting point is 00:05:40 well they just I'm falling and justing. I saw Sam how run to the locker room at half time with a cleaver embedded in his forehead. He was he was wobbly and I'm hit. I missed that one. Yeah. Well, now Tony saw it also. Right to the face, Matt will levus is all his played three
Starting point is 00:06:00 games and he's already limping. He's already limping all over the planet. Yeah. Just going to push back a little bit on your Dan Marino comparison. You gotta squint though. That's the thing. If your eyes are open, that's not a little bit.
Starting point is 00:06:09 Squint. I'm not ready to crown him next day, Marino. After seeing him a little bit more. Just squint. Mike Ryan mentioned the University of Florida's backup quarterback situation, Sturghatson. I've never seen what happened before to injure Florida's quarterback. This is the story. Okay. They are playing
Starting point is 00:06:29 a fun game against Missouri and Graham Mertz has a third and four and he's running around the left side and there are two corners there to meet him. They both collide with him before the lined gain. And both of them get injured as merts, heroically, breaks through both of them, runs another 10 yards, and then makes a vigorous first down signal because he's fired up, because he in his wake are literally a quarterbacks not going to feel better than that. He put down his shoulder and injured two dudes. They didn't collide into each other. They had both of his shoulders and they collided on the floor and they were on the ground writhing and merges in front of everybody being like first down I'm so
Starting point is 00:07:13 strong then he goes back to the huddle and he hands the ball off and clearly his clavicle collapses he's in so much pain that he tries to run to the sideline But he collapses before he gets to the sideline like he's just trying to get off the field Right and whatever he felt that felt so good a play ago His clavicle dissolved on a handoff Do you think the pointing the vigorous pointing of the first down at anything you do? It may have.
Starting point is 00:07:46 Right? That's where you wrote this. It may have. But I understand being so hopped up on this game so dangerous and did you see what I just did on that imaginary line marker that they can only see on television, that I can't actually see. I was short of the first down and I ran through two corners.
Starting point is 00:08:05 Both of them are in my wake, broke it. It's a special kind of adrenaline. That's like UFC adrenaline where you watch John Jones dominate a fight and then the camera pans down to his foot and it's in like three pieces. It is toe is the other way. And I'm like, that guy threw a lot of kicks after that injury.
Starting point is 00:08:23 I know that many of you, when I'm always talking about the injuries, I think we should start a new segment on Mondays, where is time for Dan gets uncomfortable, but is titillated. With all of the violence, what Billy is saying, it is so dangerous and so not so good. Well, Billy wants to make it more violent. I just want us to have an honest conversation and not pretend like this whole charade like we're trying to make it safer. Let's just all admit what we're watching here. It's not safe and admit that everybody knows what they've signed up for and then we can move on. There were some hits in that dolphin
Starting point is 00:08:55 game early on. Whoof. The jet really have a bone coming out of his glove. I thought I saw that yesterday where a jet player had a bone coming out of his hand through his glove. Don't you think you'd remember seeing that? I remember seeing it, but I don't know what's real and what's not on the table. And you see Sam Howell with the cleaver in his for him. I'm looking this up. Yeah, earlier this is Tony Adams. They're safety and it's gross. Mike Toreco just volunteered that Justin Herbert was looking down at his bone one one game, which he knows. David. Chris just time in place. Chris just confirmed that someone had a bone poking through their glove. Yeah showed Tony
Starting point is 00:09:30 Let me see and he goes oh, yeah, and then we just kept moving on right you you who is a football host number one number four insider Internationally the dukey on God bless football you said! You said moments ago, that happened so. I think I saw someone's bone hanging out of their skin and gloves. And I missed a cleaver so I wasn't sure. Most of the time you think he'd be in this guy's just as calm as a cucumber.
Starting point is 00:09:59 Yeah, that's good. So was Jordan Travison picked up his leg and we were like, oh God! And he was just sitting there like, guys look at my leg. Didn't hit him right away. He had to see it before he felt it. So was Jordan Travis and he picked up his leg and we were like, oh God. And he was just sitting there like, guys, look at my leg. Didn't hit him right away. He had to see it before he felt it. It was weird. It was pointing in the wrong direction.
Starting point is 00:10:12 How much pain does Bosa have to be in to be sobbing into a towel on the cart on the sidelines when he's already playing with a broken toe and they just say foot injury? I think it's just emotional. No one who has had coaches at that point. That right. I got one of his football. I mean, this franchise always like this. They stink, man. That coach is awful. That coach has to get fired. Does he not? You can't after the game blame your best player, Austin Eccler, who will join us tomorrow. God bless football for a fumble saying he's you the game. They're best player. He is not there.
Starting point is 00:10:46 Dan, he's one of their best players, but you cannot come out after the game. After you go for it repeatedly on fourth down and put your team and your defense in compromising positions, you cannot come out and blame it on one of your best players. The guy who has scored more touchdowns for you than any other players since you've been the head coach there. You can't blame it on him because you have to refumbles the ball. They still have the lead.
Starting point is 00:11:09 Blame your defense if you're going to blame someone, but how about you don't blame anyone and blame yourself? How's that sound? There's a debate going on back here. Hot debate. I'm saying that Ecler is their best player and these guys are like, it's clearly Herbert and I argue that Ecler is better and it might be that they they have a good safety Darwin James it like I don't think Herbert. I mean Keenan Allen is except.
Starting point is 00:11:28 Excellent. Well, but to just dismiss it like I wouldn't. Where do you have Herbert ranked among all the quarterbacks? I like quarterback. I like quarterback. I like the five charge. If you do. Wow.
Starting point is 00:11:38 In Chris's defense, if you start ranking quarterbacks in the NFL and you start ranking running backs. I heard a few of us are going to have Eccler ranked high. And the running back is totally disposable and the quarterback is not. It's just debatable is my point. But also, it's not just like really- It's just not their best player, it's okay. I get the argument.
Starting point is 00:11:57 I get the argument. I get the argument. I got the argument. I just gave you- Might be Bosa. Herbert, Teen and Halen and Bosa are- No. And those three are at least all those three. It's okay. Herbert is not good,
Starting point is 00:12:09 but Eckler's the best one that we have on God bless football. So he gets climb, he climbs up the rankings because you got to talk to him every day. That's not what's happening here. I mean, the last two years, he had 29 touchdowns. Yeah. Are you saying that? She got to have given a favorable take
Starting point is 00:12:23 because he has all the necklace. They're not. Let's just do that. It's just that happens during the break. That calls them like he sees them was working on on on the break. He was working on how he would do a made up sideline report and he was just saying, guys, I just heard down here on the sideline that McKinnon is tired
Starting point is 00:12:42 of this Kelsey Swift stuff back to you. Jerk McKinnon. By the way, that debate that we just have, who the Charter's best player is and so many people being available is exactly why Brandon Taylor should be fired. We will play some funny sound from him getting agitated, which is for now the highlight of his entire Charter's reign. Don Lebertard. David Samson weirdo. Because he was not.
Starting point is 00:13:10 He was not the fun substitute teacher who wheeled out a TV and play a VHS tape on Armageddon and science class. He was the weird one who would eat an ex-salad sandwich while clipping his toenails into the trash can and running about Ronald Reagan. Still got the guy kept talking about how his ass was smooth smoother than a and which while clipping his toenails into the trash can and and running about Ronald Reagan. Stugots. The guy kept talking about how his ass was smooth. Smoother than a newborns cheek. He wouldn't stop bragging about his bare buttics to me.
Starting point is 00:13:33 This is the Don Lebatars show with the Stugots. I have been in contact with Tim Legler warning the last couple of years to send a correspondent to his new Florida Halloween, but he has not done it the last couple of years. We are hoping to do that next year. People have gotten mad at us, but like, we can't force ourselves on his house if he says no.
Starting point is 00:13:59 It's his house, right? Politely. But like he has things that have gone on in his life, life events, and hasn't done it and like we've tried and just as no, politely. But like he has things that have gone on in his life, life events and hasn't done it. And like we've tried and just as no, very nicely. We can force our way onto and around his house if he's doing Halloween, but it'd be extra awkward if we did that and he wasn't doing the big ornate Halloween.
Starting point is 00:14:18 And we were just showing up at his house, but we, yeah, that's what stopped us because, unless you think that Dan wouldn't force us on Tim Legler. He has attempted several times. I sent many an awkward email to a Tim Legler who seemed very disinterested in continuing this just to kind of let's make it happen. And then, you know, he said, no, politely. What's not? I think we've made Tim Legler stop celebrating
Starting point is 00:14:39 Halloween. We put pressure on it. Sure. He moves. Was it when we sent Billy there? He liked that. I felt like on it. Sure. He moved. Was it when we sent Billy there? He liked that. I felt like I was part of his family, even though he didn't let me in his house. He's like, you can pee outside. We were trying to combine in Florida the trip to Legler's house and doing a live broadcast
Starting point is 00:14:58 from Stan Van Gundy's Pantoon Boats. Do you know what a Pantoon boat looks like? I do. Captain Lee, by the way, said he would captain that boat. If we wanted to do it, that's the guy you're supposed to call Jimmy Johnson for. Have you done it yet? I mean... I'm not going to do that. So, fortunate. Here's what a pontoon boat generally doesn't look like, although in Florida, this is sometimes what you get when you are just looking at random, you know, rivers and canals and
Starting point is 00:15:28 here it looks like a bit of a fire truck. It's not a fire truck, right? It's just a truck that is on... It's Rex Ryan on that. It's a rat. It is, is it Rex Ryan or Rob Ryan? He is running a half truck, half boat. It seemed like it had a lot of coolers
Starting point is 00:15:46 as a boat like that must have. A lot of places for drinks, but how do we feel? That's not doing well on the open seas, right? That is only on waters that are that kind of placid. That boat is tipping over on its side in water that has some waves. Pondton largely, fresh water bones. Yeah, bass, lakes, stuff like that.
Starting point is 00:16:09 You don't want to take a pontoon out on the open ocean. That also seems like a thing, by the way, that you don't just see once, right? Like, you can't just see that and be like, what was that? Like, they have to know, like, that's Jim. He lives down the lake over there with him. Oh, Jimmy. Down the canal, yeah. You got a lot off from the bill. It's kind of sticks out a little bit.
Starting point is 00:16:29 Not one. It's not a fire truck. Correct. It's just a truck. No, it's an 18 wheel. That's a front end of a semi truck. Yeah. They don't make them like that. Dan. That was a custom. Yeah. That's a custom. Yeah. Punto. I appreciate the clarification, Billy. Although when someone sees that I mean if you can do that once You can do that a number of times and there's probably a market for people that like that first off Cuban people have been doing that for years to get over here. You'd see a truck You'd see anything that you could take that to Cuban back a million times. I actually take more offense at that than I do the Italian fingers
Starting point is 00:17:02 I don't believe they have modern trucks very much in Cuba. I believe it's mostly 1950s. Well, you know what I should mean, in automobiles, I don't believe that they have, I do know what you generally mean. I feel though like they don't have car parts or truck parts that are modern. Also, that is done like for necessity.
Starting point is 00:17:21 And the ingenuity is not for pleasure. That is a pleasure craft. In Cuba, no, there is some desperation involved. It's like an endorsement for free market capitalism. It is not a pleasure. Do you think that that person is like a retired like long hauler? Like they made their money going on runs like trucking every. No, not put their truck on a boat, but like that's how they made their money.
Starting point is 00:17:43 That's how they bought their house on the water. And he said, you know what? Here's a little nod to the old career. I remember we took old Bessie up and down the coast east to west 75 times. That's not making it up and down a coast. That is not handling anything in the way of. No, this that was on the road. Nobody saying the bridge. Yeah, the original originally, yeah, old Bessie was on the road.
Starting point is 00:18:04 You know what I mean? And then Jim Bo said, you know what? I'm going to call it a career, but don't only Vole Bessu behind. Brought Bessu on the boat. I'm seeing that this boat is owned by a trucking company, Jeff Foster trucking. Jeff!
Starting point is 00:18:15 Huh. It looks so close when I said, a retirement vehicle. Let's get to the testy Brandon Staley sound here, because he is due got under duress. He is aged a great deal. He used to be a boy wonder. He was going for it on four down. He was the coach who was least afraid and most aggressive, but the chargers have beaten him down as Chris Cody told you Herbert has lost more games since 2020 than any quarterback
Starting point is 00:18:42 in the league. And he's great. I know he's great. He is an exceptional quarterback who never rallies to win games late. Chris said he's bad. I was defending you there, Stubat. That's what I'm saying. You're turning on me. All I said was, it's debatable where he ranks.
Starting point is 00:18:55 We're Echlor ranks amongst running backs. Thank you. Let's play the sound or one of the sounds of Tasty Brandon Staley. I have full confidence. Like I told you, and like I told you from the beginning, I have full confidence, like I told you, and like I told you from the beginning, I have full confidence in our way of playing.
Starting point is 00:19:09 Full confidence in myself is the play collar, and the way that we teach, and the way that we scheme, full confidence in that. We got to bring this group together and do it consistently, okay? And that's where it's at. So you can stop asking that question, okay? I'm going to be calling the defenses, okay? So we're clear. So you don't have to asking that question. Okay? I'm going to be calling the defenses.
Starting point is 00:19:25 Okay? So we're clear. So you don't have to ask that again. This, of course, is from the maker of what do you think my mood is, Jeff. That is the last time we checked in with Brandon Staley. I introduced in Los Angeles, Mike to Jeff. Really? Yeah, I met Jeff.
Starting point is 00:19:44 Not the Jeff and the pontoon boat who ran the tuck. I was it. Jeff Foster. It was thrilling. You know me, I hate Brandon Staley. So anybody that can get under his skin as a friend of mine, the enemy and the enemy is my friend. They're afraid at this point, the reporters who cover the team to ask the questions because
Starting point is 00:20:03 they're going to get this kind of defensiveness. Let's play. Which one's better to got on the Brandon Staley defensive front? The one we just played or this one? I'm not here to talk to the fan base. I'm here to talk to my players, the locker room. I know that we give ourselves a chance to win every single week with the game plans that we have. Okay? And we have done it here. You guys act like we've never played good defense.
Starting point is 00:20:23 That's not the truth. That's not the truth. You act like we haven't made any improvements today in the run game. We played outstanding. We're rushing the quarterback well. We got to do a better job of is in the passing game and that's where our full attention is and it's where it will continue to be. There are a lot of other things that cause us to lose today. It certainly wasn't our defense. It was the way we played as a team. We didn't play well on the red zone on offense. We dropped too many passes. We gave up a few killer sacks. We did this as a team.
Starting point is 00:20:49 Stop making it about one unit, because that's not what happened out there today. Our team lost, and I am fully responsible for it, and I take full responsibility. But we lost as a team today, and that's the storyline. The second one. Full responsibility means taking full responsibility. It doesn't mean blaming the defense, it doesn't mean blaming Justin Herbert, it doesn't mean blaming
Starting point is 00:21:10 Austin Eccler for fumbling, it means blaming yourself. It's all on you. It's on no one else. He didn't do that. He tried to do it, he didn't do it. Rex Ryan on GetUp said Brandon Saley should go back to where he belongs in Division 3 football. Wow. So the type of quote is a bit football. Oh wow. So the type of quote is it much? That's not necessarily the type of quote you want to give when you need your team to fight for you and your job. You run the risk of losing the locker room and you're at a precarious situation right now in your schedule and in your season and in your tenure.
Starting point is 00:21:39 Stugots, I want to in a second because our football Mondays are so soaked in football. I want to get to everyone's 11th most interesting observation from yesterday's games. Only the top 10 are good enough to make the show, but I just want to show everyone how good the top 10 is by just pointing out what everyone's 11th best one is. But before we do that, I just want a little quiz for you because tonight's a great one. Tonight you got chiefs eagles. Thursday could have been a great one with burrow where you had Baltimore Cincinnati. Go ahead and off the top of your head, Stugat. Give me all the games
Starting point is 00:22:21 yesterday that involved two winning teams. Give me all of the football games that were played yesterday. This is the magic of the sport, okay? The magic of the sport is that the games are interesting even though the teams aren't necessarily. So when I ask you to give me, now if Oakland and what, I'm sorry, if Las Vegas had one yesterday, then the dolphins would have beaten a winning team.
Starting point is 00:22:45 Right. Well, I see what you're doing. It would have lost a winning team. It would have been an indictment on them. I actually foolished them to go on and beat the team because it turned them into a losing team. But that was one of the games that at least had a winning team against a 500 team. I'm asking you to give me all the games yesterday that involve non-to-not losing teams playing against each other before the game started.
Starting point is 00:23:12 This is your slate, the whole slate. Go ahead. There's a good slate. It wasn't a good slate, but that's it. Steelers Brown. Steelers Brown's. Steelers Brown's. They're for a great game.
Starting point is 00:23:24 The Steelers spent that entire game on their own 25 yard line Can he pick it is when you do the advanced numbers? He's been Zach Wilson worse. I think he's been Zach Wilson not worse. Nobody's been worse than Zach Wilson I need to like five passes beyond the sticks and entire game But that was your that was your big game. It was a great game. involving winning teams. I enjoyed that game too, even though it was a special kind of awful because you knew both offenses had no chance
Starting point is 00:23:53 to move down the game. I love the physicality. I think that stuff is good. I mean, it reminded me of the Raven Steelers from a couple of years ago. Those games were compelling. I've been saying forever, I love a good defensive struggle. We don't get them much in the NFL anymore. We had one yesterday. That was a classic. I wish I could have just written written ass over that game
Starting point is 00:24:11 That's what I wanted it was a good game. It was a dramatic DTR so every single Drive was important. Yes, he did he showed me so he showed you showed you something he did He did he showed me that he is not to Sean Watson Where's totally different you know? I'm never there. Mike are you enjoying the success of the browser? I'm not even I you're wearing the colors today Not even paying attention. I'm just learning right now that they won Again, I don't care. That was the game between the two winning teams
Starting point is 00:24:42 There are no others What did he show you? What? Moxie. Moxie, a guy who can lead a group of men to a victory in a battle. That's when he showed me Joe Flacco practice squad. In a quarterbacks beat Mike Tomlin, huh?
Starting point is 00:24:55 In a war of attrition, they made it happen. DTR with a rookie quarterback. Yeah. That I'm just learning about. I don't care really all that much. What? I'm onto you. I don't care about that much. I'm not rooting for them. By you smiling. By week 17 he has a dog pound mask on.
Starting point is 00:25:14 Way earlier than that. Yo more Watson Mike. I mean, I don't care. I really don't know this where. I may have seen a text. It wasn't Mike, but Mike was in the vicinity of plucky little team. They got there in seven and three Cleveland Little likable team It was strange Don't don't Mike don't compromise your morals for this team And they don't have a quarterback like don't publicly don't publicly cave on everything you stood for last year For a team that has no quarterback and cannot make a run it It won't change what a good thing you did last year. Not even 100% cheek.
Starting point is 00:25:48 No, it wouldn't. It'd be like, look, you can't take a moral stand. I put them in time out. It's watching. It got hurt. You can't just you can't just pluck away the one major problem I had with a team and expect me in a room for them all this. That's happening.
Starting point is 00:26:01 Don't live a tart. You got to know I'm a big colambo guy. Slude to that boy. Okay. I don't think that's proof. I don't think that's proof. I don't think that's proof. I think that's proof.
Starting point is 00:26:11 I think that's a lie. I don't think that's proof. That's absolute. I don't think that is evidence. Slude to that boy. It suggests Kim and Flaj. It suggests that Judea has no idea what we're talking about.
Starting point is 00:26:23 And now he's just Googling it. Stugats. I'm not Googling in here. My grandma must stay in the country. I watch the braves, I watch the Colombo, I watch Matt Lutton, I watch Andy Griffin. Yeah, I watch the Juju. You go to the Pillar of the Bucks, damn.
Starting point is 00:26:37 You tell him I'm a Pillar of the Bucks. I'll do you a lie. You tell him Juju. Back to you, Stu. This is the Don Leverter Show with a Stugat. I know what happens every week, Stugat, in a way that it's not even an astute observation to Marvel at just how many interceptions are dropped in that league.
Starting point is 00:27:04 But the Jalen Ramsey play at the end of the game Reminded me of how many Super easy Interceptions I saw drop that was not an easy one. I saw dropped yesterday It must have been in a sport where they're valuing so much the turnover It must have happened 10 times yesterday, where I'm watching a defensive back, drop a ball, and I'm like, how the hell do you drop that?
Starting point is 00:27:29 But that's not even my 11th most interesting observation from yesterday. There's a reason they're not playing wide receiver, Dano. I know, everyone said- Someone always has to say that. I hate when people say that. I'm the guy. Does the analogy play wide receiver?
Starting point is 00:27:42 Does he drop one? It could be the route running. You never really know what goes south for them when they're trying out at wide receiver school. Stugots is good for reheating an observation that someone is made for 20 years. Put it on the pole, please, dude, you're at Levitage. Is one of Stugots's finest traits reheating an observation everyone else has been making for 20 years?
Starting point is 00:28:04 Set it and forget it, Dano. Are you guys ready to give me your 11th most interesting observation from all of yesterday's football? Again, I will say it again. It involved no winning football being played. There you had one game, the one game that had winning teams, two, six and three teams are both teams that you all know are shit. You, Cleveland's defense is great.
Starting point is 00:28:30 Whoa. Between the two of them. Hey, hey, hey, hey. I'm not here to defend them, but they're, well, feisty and I wouldn't want to play them in the market for the second. I would not want to play them in the playoffs. Yes, I would not.
Starting point is 00:28:41 I would certainly not go. Don't ask me to go. I'm not going. Mm-hmm. Their defense is championship good. Cleveland's defense historically good. You have to say, man. Well, they are going to Joe Flacco to save them. No, no, they got DTR. They got DTR. We have Joe faith in him. Don't compromise your morals for the... If they had a quarterback, 100% compromise your morals, but they don't have one So they got that
Starting point is 00:29:06 We're trying to Right yourself up for heartbreak Heartbreak public humiliation. I'm gonna investigate your social media likes. We're rolling with the kid Chris Cody What was your 11th most interesting observation from yesterday? Robert Salas shaving his clearly dyed beard observation from yesterday. Robert Salah shaving his clearly dyed beard. Whoa. What? He tackled Zach Wilson. So they were giving him credit there for that. They were like, he broke his fall. What a head coach. The one time you want to see a hip drop tackle. He didn't break his fall from being a starting quarterback in his career being over though. Because that happened yesterday. I remind you by the way that Stugots was arguing that Aaron Rogers should stay on the sidelines because Zach Wilson won a game.
Starting point is 00:29:55 That Aaron Rogers should get some there, Dano. Now he's saying he's coming back December 2nd for what's why the team's going nowhere. Why he's coming back in two weeks. Well, a couple of fortnights. I mean, he did show them video of him practicing and they were wowed. At one point yesterday and this number is larger now than it was when I heard it, but they gave the stat during that game. The jets have not scored a touchdown in 40 possessions. I saw that. And now it's almost through well. That was the third quarter of that game before. That was your all his dad. That was thunder. My 12th and 11th favorite thing. No, no, no, you can't. 13, you gotta go to 13.
Starting point is 00:30:45 Yeah, you gotta go to your 30th. Chris Cody, give us your 11th most. I just did, you forgot it. It was the beard. That's right. Clearly died. He denied it, but it's died. He denied it.
Starting point is 00:30:57 I did forget it. I'm sorry. It was that uninteresting. Got us though. It was a springboard though. There's some nice jetstalk. It led to Tony's 11th and 12th. Yeah, now we get 13.
Starting point is 00:31:06 Billy, what is your 11th most interesting observation from yesterday? So this was news that broke yesterday that impacts today's game. Guys, Taylor will not be able to travel to the game tonight. A super bowl preview slash rematch. She won't be able to go. And this is supposed to be the game where her parents meet the Kelsey parents So it makes you wonder to the parents still go and meet the other parents because if you were gonna meet your you know Significant others parents you'd want them to be there, correct? Maybe she heard that holiday song and she's like what's going on here?
Starting point is 00:31:36 I don't know about you, but when I started dating my significant other I wanted our parents to meet in front of the a national audience. That is not weird at all That is how you first meet. At Monday night football. I also wonder is Travis gonna put on a show for the Swift parents tonight or is he gonna buckle under the pressure? Right, well you took the over for Kelsey Yardage, didn't you?
Starting point is 00:31:56 I did take the best boiler alert, I did take the over. How are you, BigBets brought to you by going now on God bless football? I had a rough week last week, I was one and two bringing me to 15, 11 and one on the season. But still, you know, doing pretty good. Last week, Josh Allen had to come in and ruin
Starting point is 00:32:12 what would have been a two and one week? Well, if they would have won, it would have been three and all. But he had to ruin a two and one when he had a wide open receiver in the end, so he could have just tossed it. I had over one and a half touchdown pass and said he ran it in. But it wasn't total touch since that was last week. Well, not that I expect you to follow the rules but you're interesting observation
Starting point is 00:32:27 about tonight's game in the kelsies is how an interesting observation from yesterday broke yesterday the news on that one broke the thing is i have other interesting ones that i can give you but i don't want to be accused of recycling something i said earlier like for example here's an interesting one what numbers this on your list this this could be number 11 but I also use it as my gamesmanship moment of the week on double football this morning and my gamesmanship moment of the week we're just patent pending is the first time we've done it forget the sponsor will continue if not we probably forget about
Starting point is 00:32:56 it the sea hawks signed Brett rip into their practice squad the same week that the Rams cut him gave me ship they lost didn't end up working out. Seahawks still lost, but they they signed the quarterback of the other team hoping to get some secrets. These are eight secrets, if you will, do you just give it all up if you're him? He was. They were running up to him on the silent. The announcer even said he's the most popular man on the team today.
Starting point is 00:33:19 Right. So they hired him for yes, you have to. It is, it is one of the dumber things that I get with my football experience. Here's another one. Hey, everybody, you're not going to believe this. Frank Reich is taking over the play calling duties. Yeah, okay. Great. They scored. They did. They scored a touchdown. They scored a touchdown. It was a 17 play drive and they went for it on four down three. Yeah, Adam feeling had like four Fort Down conversions on that drive and they were all like five yard outs. Did he recently give up the play calling duties?
Starting point is 00:33:49 Did I say it on the back? Yeah, great. I mean, desperate. He's got him back now. These are says he's on the hot seat. Well, he is. This ripping guy, if I ever get cut by a team and brought the team they're playing that week,
Starting point is 00:34:01 I need a guarantee that I'm with you the rest of the season. Like, I need, if it's just, this is a one week thing and I'm done, I'm giving you, you think you've got leverage in that position? I'm giving bad information. I'm like, you want this information? I need the rest of the year. Bad information for me.
Starting point is 00:34:14 I'm just saying, and if I think I'm just gonna get cut the very next week, I'm not giving the goods. I like the idea of like being Brett Ripon and just announcing to the world, like, I'm on tour. I will go to any team that's going to play against the Rams moving forward this season. Like, just bring me out of your team for a week. I don't care.
Starting point is 00:34:29 I like to tour the country. Imagine if like a dolphins player got cut. Cause that's an offense. Teams are like, I need information on this team. If I'm a dolphin. I'm going to start calling him artificial intelligence. So you think you think Chosen Anderson when he was cut earlier this week
Starting point is 00:34:43 just to immediately be signed back onto the practice squad and elevated to the active roster? You think you should have started a bidding war to tell the trade secrets of the dolphins offense? I bet the jets were like, oh Chosen's available. We need some input. I don't have any proof that he knows it. That's fair. Hmm. So you have Arizona signing Brett Rip in this week. I'm just saying. If I was, if I'm Brett Rip in, I'm not giving up the good. I'm not giving up the good. But you can get a guy who's got some information.
Starting point is 00:35:07 A warm body. Oh no, Chris is right. If you want my information, give me a full year. Right, the rest of the season. Whatever. You have no leverage. My love the information. I have some of the information stays with me. I'll go get somebody else who has information. Alright, then do it. See you. Also the Rams are four and six. So like, do you need it? Now I'm back at home. I've made the not only look up much, I bet he's fine. I bet the Ripon is doing fine.
Starting point is 00:35:28 You just caused yourself a couple of hundred thousand dollars. It's to be used. So what it comes for money. Put it on the pole is Ripon fine because he comes for money. Tony, what was the 11th most interesting observation? I'm gonna go down to my 13th. Yeah, 13th, keep an eye on Tommy Davido. There's something there. I can go down to 14 if you want. Jason, Jason Peters, 41-year-old Jason Peters
Starting point is 00:35:53 played for the Seahawks. They signed him for this year, 20-year NFL veteran. That's insane playing that position. That's pretty cool. Brett Ripon has made 3.6 in his life. All right. I'm whole and strong if I'm him. You want the good stuff? Give me the rest of the season. Well, they signed him to a one-year contract. Oh, I don't know how this shit works. I just assume it's like one week, give us the info you're gone. But it's not the good stuff.
Starting point is 00:36:14 He didn't give him the good stuff. He didn't give him nothing. No, nothing. Mike, what is your 11th most interesting football observation? There's so many things to choose from. In a game that Dan called the game of the week and the NFL between the Steelers and Browns, there was a funny little moment where Miles Garrett had a loose helmet in his hand.
Starting point is 00:36:31 And it freaked out all the Pittsburgh Steelers. You know, not a lot of people talked about a trade that the Browns made in August, where they acquired Dustin Hopkins for seventh rounder, and that's really turned our season around. Hour? Oh, what? A lot of weas weasel higher to what's going on there Waiting on the D. How I think you're hearing things
Starting point is 00:36:54 Stugots what was your back-to-back weeks the Browns had beaten the Ravens and Steelers and if you've been a long suffering That is not something that you've seen since they've come back Primarily because the Ravens weren't in the league before because they used to be the Browns aren't our model, move them. The whole thing. Stugots, your 11th most interesting observation. The commanders are confusing. I don't understand them.
Starting point is 00:37:16 They have a good team. They're playing a bad team in the New York Giants. Everyone tells me the defense is so good for a couple of the years now. Sam Howell, there's good quarterback. They have Eric B. Enemy. They have Riverboat Ron. They're not good.'s good quarterback. They have Eric B. Enemy. They have Riverboat Ron. They're not good. They're confusing.
Starting point is 00:37:27 They're a confusing football team. I think they could be good, but I have no idea if they're any good. What do you make those traits? I don't know. They were sitting in an all right position to make a playoff push and they just kind of punted on sweat and young.
Starting point is 00:37:40 Those are guys that can help them win and it kind of seems like the team has gone in a different direction since they made those moves. Video get from me please the last time that the commanders lost to the giants, their defensive linemen who is now lonely because all the others have left sweat got money. It's sort of chase young what's going on. I'm the squeaky wheel here and I'm stuck. But the last time that Washington lost to the New York Giants, here is this menace of a man who looks like somebody that I would not want to be tackled by,
Starting point is 00:38:12 just like super pissed off. What's the evaluation like after a loss like that? It worked all right, plain and simple. Gotta be better. Anything they did that surprised you guys early on? No, I want to say so. I think it's just a lack of focus on our part of lack of attention to detail, not starting fast and creating holes that are too big for us to overcome this thing.
Starting point is 00:38:33 Is it getting frustrating when that's... Yes it does. I'm f***ing tired of this. I'm f***ing tired of this. B****** has been 7 f*** years of the same s***. I'm tired of this s***. What can you do now going forward to get it turned around? Get our minds right and get ready to play f*** full of delphia. I would have sprinted away after that last answer.
Starting point is 00:38:51 What can you do to change that? That was from a couple of weeks ago. How do you think Jonathan Allen felt after losing yesterday and going back to a locker room that had no running water? No, it did. It was cold. It was cold water. Cold showers are good for you though. And how I knew you'd, that was the most predictable.
Starting point is 00:39:07 How does he feel walking in? We just lost to Tommy DeVito.
