Starting point is 00:00:00 Welcome to the Big Sui presented by DraftKings. Why are you listening to this show? The podcast that seems very similar to the other Dan LeBattard podcast. I'm sorry, I'm not going to apologize for that. In fact, the only difference seems to be this imaging. I have been tempted in restaurants just walking past tables to grab somebody's fries. If they're just there, that hasn't happened to you guys. I've done it. able to grab somebody's fries if they're just there. That hasn't happened to you guys?
Starting point is 00:00:25 I've done it. And now, here's the marching man to nowhere, fat face, and the habitual liar. This episode is presented by DraftKings. DraftKings, the crown is yours. All right, so I don't know what to do about that first hour because we now have an orally binding commitment, Billy, and that's not the way you negotiate these things.
Starting point is 00:00:45 Usually you talk these things out, they don't happen on air. Well, you did this once before where you said, if I have another kid, I'd get a raise. And then I thought we were just joking, and then weeks later you're like, so where are we on this kid? And I was like, that was just a bit we were doing.
Starting point is 00:01:00 I didn't think that a raise was coming if I had a child. And you kept saying it's orally binding, and I don't think that a raise was coming if I had a child. And you kept saying it's orally binding. And I don't think that's how it works. OK, well, it is orally binding right now. I'm a lawyer. I think that is how it works. Well, OK. I'm a judge.
Starting point is 00:01:13 And a lawyer. With prejudice. How do you think I became a judge? By doing Spanish play-by-play. Law school. So the thing that I have trouble with here here is uh... and and still i just called steward me told me that this is that because i've done this a couple of times now with you
Starting point is 00:01:31 that we're out ahead of ourselves where a lot like he done knows that we need this property and it's a condemned properties a small property it's a cat it's gonna be one of the few properties in south florida doesn't have a great deal of value because we're building straight up because we have no more room because it's the least affordable housing market in the united states i think it still is so uh... we're in a bad negotiating position with a lot of people but i do want to buy it for you whether you have a kid or not and i want to buy it so that uh... la vacchito studios is something that we're
Starting point is 00:02:00 building at metal art media through billy gill it's something that i wish to do but we gotta get we gotta get the price down and we gotta negotiate this correctly. Not you and me, us and them. So what do we do? I need more. Let me work it, Dan. Let me work it, I'll talk to the guy,
Starting point is 00:02:15 we'll make something happen. Can we agree he came in with a really stank attitude today? Like everybody here was riding high and was pretty happy and you came in like, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, with a stank ass attitude and you really brought things down. Well, it's a Wild Willy Wednesday. He's never wrong on Wild Willy Wednesdays.
Starting point is 00:02:34 He gets gifts from Dan if he has a child. Dan wants to buy him things. Like, I don't know what's going on here. We need to talk to Stuart about other things. I mean, he's got, wait a minute, he's got seniority over you. It's not about me. It's not about me, Dan.
Starting point is 00:02:44 You report to me, son. I do not report to you. I would have been gone long ago. Billy, we can arrange that too if you want as part of. It is a wild west end. We can actually arrange, we're in the middle, we are right now in the middle of making the company org chart.
Starting point is 00:02:59 I'm not even kidding, like remaking the entire company org chart. I would actually be happy to create a situation where Tony reports to you. No, I don't want that. Because then his failures reflect poorly on me and we know those are coming. Those are bountiful.
Starting point is 00:03:13 And I don't want that on my resume. Okay, but this is the issue we have today on a Wild Willy Wednesday, because it is on your resume. Tony's tonight is a burgeoning thing. Tony tonight as a, Tony every day as a hustler has hustled his way into business
Starting point is 00:03:28 in truly pure Rakita Cuban style. Like he's created some things and he's got a big head now. Like he's gotten, he came in with confidence and now he's got more confidence. Same thing happened to that. Talk to him. And so what do I do about Tony tonight is 10 minutes long? And man, that's a big piece of property.
Starting point is 00:03:48 It's great. To play Tony tonight for 10 minutes, and you, oh, something you missed Tony before you got here. And we still haven't gotten to whether or not you were arrested on the train or not. Billy said that if he had your confidence, he said some version of he would have conquered the world already.
Starting point is 00:04:03 He's right. And left this place five years ago. He's right. Not left, but of he would have conquered the world already. He's right and left these this place five years ago. He's right Not left but like someone would have graduated you're saying yeah, not left graduated No, I'd still be around everybody's still around look at me. It's still here. Yeah, I'm not going anywhere exactly It's the same thing with his wardrobe to like if he had the confidence to go out and wear some of the things that I Wear he could do it. I've seen him wear things where I'm like, okay. Good job Billy. That's good He's got a work get rid of the body this I wear, he could do it. I've seen him wear things where I'm like, okay, good job, Billy, that's good. He's gotta work, get rid of the body dysmorphia. You look good, you're more than 200 pounds.
Starting point is 00:04:30 You're out there, dude. I don't know, now I'm starting to understand the soda drinker's body feeling that Zaz got. Yo, why you gotta look at me while you talk about this? No, I'm just saying I'm understanding what you were feeling before, because he said you're over 200 pounds, and the way that he said that seemed like,
Starting point is 00:04:44 you know, like a little slight. I'm over 200 pounds. I did have a conversation with someone yesterday here in this office that you will probably agree with where I said, I need to be completely honest with you. I said this to Matthew Kugler who was sitting on the couch. I said, I need to be completely honest with you because he was talking to me about I don't know what.
Starting point is 00:05:00 Kugz. And I go, I put very little effort into my appearance. And he laughed at me and he said, everybody knows that. And I was like, whoa, like I thought I was confessing something here, like an insecurity that like, I didn't really try in my appearance. And it turns out everybody here just knows that I'm a bad dresser.
Starting point is 00:05:17 ["Soda Drinker's Body"] Brian Scalabrini, soda drinker's body. Good one. I would look like an asshole if I dressed like you. And I don't mean that as like an insult. No, but you need to have the confidence to go with it. Cause if you walk in kinda like, oh I kinda look stupid like this.
Starting point is 00:05:32 You wear these linens and like these things that look like they go on old ladies couches and it's like, I can't pull that off. Like I'm not a fish, I don't belong in like a net top. Like what are you wearing? You know, I can't do it. It's not a net top. Billy, anytime I've seen you dress up,
Starting point is 00:05:46 you dress up nicely. Oh, I clean up well. But that's also the, I think that we've said the story on air, that when we went to Austin, and we were going to do the shows, we had run throughs at like the four seasons or wherever it was, I don't remember.
Starting point is 00:06:00 Two seasons. But I showed up on a different flight than everyone else. My flight was later in the day, so everyone had already spent like half a day bonding when I arrived, so I was like texting, trying to figure out where everybody is so I could meet up with them. So I go meet up with them,
Starting point is 00:06:14 and I simply got a haircut and put on my contacts, and they didn't know that I was their coworker. Nobody knew who I was. They didn't recognize you. They didn't recognize me. At the time, the person that was running it looked at me and was like, how can I help you? And I was like, we work together.
Starting point is 00:06:31 And they're like, oh, I didn't even recognize you. So I clean up well, but it's because I come from such a shit layer of normalcy there that if I do really anything to try to not look you know myself I'm better you know no you're right found a word that was shocking I appreciate that again if you just walk in with the confidence that hey I own this like I'm I look good and what I am and what I'm in yeah make it happen Paul Canerco soda drink his body
Starting point is 00:07:01 tremendous yeah I can't believe that tony while giving you the tom cruise in magnolia confidence talk corrected you correctly on a word i can't believe i haven't you at what we just were about to make him report to you and about to make you decide whether we play tony's that tony tonight today or not because that now that he reports to you orally binding since we've been speaking we have a 10-minute segment with Tony and the last time we played a
Starting point is 00:07:32 segment I got to tell you that the aforementioned Cougs didn't want to play it and Tony's like who's he and I'm like he did Craig Ferguson show who cares I'm Tony no I said he's here now he's not on the Craig Ferguson show he's here now right but he didn't want to play he didn't want to that wasn't Tony's tonight That was something else but Tony did he didn't want to play that but he didn't want to tell you he didn't want to Play that and we shouldn't have played it because it didn't have the conclusion of you sparring with someone and needed a payoff now we've got a Tony's tonight and Billy's in charge today. I haven't seen this. I don't know what it is. So I can't vouch for this one's great
Starting point is 00:08:03 This one's with local Luminary in the media. Oh, mr. Eats 305 my buddy George Okay, but I need your help here bill. He gave me a hat once so I'm like leaning towards We'll just promote his stuff cuz I got a free hat for him. That's how I roll you give me a free hat We're good. Well, no, but I need you to make an executive decision here There are ten minutes of valuable property long if I'm gonna be honest with you on the front and ten minutes seems like a long time okay well let's talk this out because we're not talk about we're not an organized production here hold on we'll find out or not whether or not Tony
Starting point is 00:08:32 tonight plays today you're going to make the decision Dexter Pittman soda drinkers body I feel like we need a skinny person in there so like you can understand like that you know skinny people in there so like you can understand like that, you know Skinny people can also be soda drinkers, you know Jalen Rose So the drinkers body skinny guy. Nice one. So the drinker is he skinny though. He's big guy We're now but Jalen Rose when he played Yeah skinny diet coke Dan for later on today
Starting point is 00:09:00 I have three different pickles and you can choose the pickle that you want to figure out Sell pickles in my movie theater. You know what Zazz? I went and they sold pickles in my movie theater, too No way! I think it was $2.99, right? And mine is $2.99 Yeah Dill I didn't ask what kind
Starting point is 00:09:19 I want to Billy come to terms on you getting more power I'm endorsing what it is that Tony's saying. You just need a little more attitude in your game, but you have to be the person that's also willing to tell Tony, hey, that's not good enough, those 10 minutes. Oh, I'm more than willing to tell Tony that's not good enough. I tell him that every day about everything.
Starting point is 00:09:34 I think Tony maybe should report to you then. I think you should be the... Let's do it. I think we should create La Vaquita Studios. I look... What do I do when he threatens to fight people? Well, no, we a call outside human resources We got a call to fight them to who hit no
Starting point is 00:09:49 This is the problem bring in an HR nerd here. We'll see what happens. Oh, no On-site HR that's Dominique Foxworth. Okay, that's not gonna work It's not the way that needs to be I'm having trouble Billy. I'm not gonna lie to you I'm having trouble keeping Billy, I'm not gonna lie to you, I'm having trouble keeping up with the show today. I'm getting knocked aside here and I meant to get to Tyreek Hill 90 minutes ago. Sports. Yeah, well, I meant to do this 90 minutes ago because I've been making fun for the last couple of days about like how ridiculous it is that we're headed into another football season during a slow
Starting point is 00:10:22 time and our local team that used to be the winningest is now an Afterthought everywhere they had a couple of years of who that looks like maybe it's exciting and then it was nothing So fun that one year Well, it was fun that one year because of the guy who we're about to hear from and it's been interesting to watch everything there watch he went from Kansas City to here and He said in Kansas City to here, and he said, in Kansas City, we'll win seven or eight championships. And if they'd stayed, there weren't going to be a whole,
Starting point is 00:10:50 like if Tyree Kill, if Tyree Kill and Travis Kelsey and Patrick Mahomes loved each other so very much, like the Panthers do, they could have stayed together for a really long time. But Tyree Kill wanted to be a star, and he gave us those three years of, oh, look what it feels like to have one fifthfifth of the Chiefs, it seems exciting. One-fifth of the Chiefs excitement, we haven't had that here in 25 years.
Starting point is 00:11:11 We got the fastest guy. But he's an embarrassment to the region. And only because he's the fastest dude in the league do we support any of his nonsense. Because his life is a reckless mess off the field and if he gets in trouble, whatever I tell you right now, he got in trouble today this way you'd believe it I could tell you anything and you'd be like yeah that probably happened let's try that I think that's a way my executive I love it keep going I think this side is this real or false that's a good game you want to play that
Starting point is 00:11:41 game it seems like you guys don't and And it's going to lead to trouble. I think with Tyree Killis, he does have bad things, right? But a lot of the things also that come out in the news about him are infidelity issues. And now he has a child with another partner or whatever, which, that's none of my business whatsoever. The legal stuff obviously is bad and not defendable. But when we're there, we're talking about like look
Starting point is 00:12:06 He had another kid he cheated on his wife. It's like, oh, I'm pretty long. There's also a lot of BS. It's broke my leg in his backyard and it's got pushed off of a dock. Oh, yeah, that stuff's terrible. I'm saying when we come at him about he had this many kids. That's not mine. Folks nothing says summer like long days, clutch plays, and firing off a few bets on the game. That's not mine. Special for first timers, new DraftKings customers. Starting point is 00:13:17 Bonus bets expire seven days after issuance for additional terms and responsible gaming resources see DKNG.co slash audio. Don LeBretard. All right, we got to go back out there. That was big. Wake him up. Uh oh. He doesn't want to be bothering anymore. Now it's getting tense because he didn't need that as a result.
Starting point is 00:13:34 He needs something that happens. You can see him mother-asshole. Can we bother? Are we bothering you right now? Turn on your microphone. My microphone's on. Stugats. Paint the scene.
Starting point is 00:13:46 The paint the scene is I gotta go to work. Good night. This is the Don Lebatar Show with the Stugats. ["Soda Drinker's Body"] Kevin Euclid, Soda Drinker's Body. Ho, ho, ho, ho, ho, ho, ho, ho, ho, ho, ho, ho. I'm kind of out on all of this Tyreek Hill we got yesterday because it's just, he does it every year.
Starting point is 00:14:09 He shows up to spring training and he says, it's like, it felt just like Jimmy, this last camp for the Heat. I'm gonna say all the right things and then as soon as something doesn't go my way, I'm out with this. As soon as Tyreek has a game where he has three catches for 40 yards, he's gonna be mad again.
Starting point is 00:14:24 Like he's trying to do this, we can play this sound where he's just, oh I have to be a better, he says all the right things and it just means nothing. Say it after a bad game. I think the only difference right now between Tyreek Hill and Jimmy Butler was Tyreek Hill actually said he's quitting. Like we were assuming that Jimmy Butler is quitting during games.
Starting point is 00:14:43 Tyreek Hill actually said I quit during the game. he's quitting like we were assuming that Jimmy Butler is quitting during games Tyree kill Actually said I quit during the game. I'm sorry. Did you say he showed up to spring training? Yes, he did Camp you guys not say training words With NBA spring fine. I apologize. I didn't want to correct them. I would and want to but I am struggling because I want our company to build studios for Billy Gill at Lava Geek. I should have not said that. I feel like now you're gonna get caught up on this
Starting point is 00:15:14 and it's gonna kinda distract from what we're trying to accomplish. Yeah. Okay. I didn't intend it, and now here's the thing. If I wanted to buy that on my own, now I've started a bidding war, so I've really done a disservice to myself. Which I don't know why I did that.
Starting point is 00:15:27 Cause I know Stewart's never gonna approve this. Billy, here's the thing though. All you gotta tell the owner is, look at this big company trying to buy this thing. I'm a local guy. I wanna do this for me. I wanna do this for my family, for my community. Grow the roots.
Starting point is 00:15:38 All of a sudden they get weeded out, you get a lower offer, bam! You know what I've learned from when I was buying a home? They usually don't like the, the I'll put what was me story where I'm offering less. They're gonna take the most money from whoever it is that offers it to them. No, you gotta play the local angle.
Starting point is 00:15:53 You say, hey, look up Metal Arch Media. Where's their headquarters? New York? Do you want those big city ass? Yeah, city slickers? Yeah, no, man. Keep it local here. I'm a local boy.
Starting point is 00:16:03 Yeah. Born and raised. Born and bred. Generations. Keep it here in the family. And that's how you sell yourself. No, man, keep it local here. I'm a local boy. Yeah born and raised born and generations Yeah, keep it here in the family. That's how you sell yourself Okay I believe we should crowd source this to our audience and see if they want to rise up and buy this for you in a Very difficult time see if they buy it for you. I'll leave it alone for the moment. I'm gonna buy lava kita Yeah, I want to figure out how to buy this. I'm gonna leave it alone right now
Starting point is 00:16:23 But I do want to offer an apology for yesterday we were talking about boy bands there was a lot of menudo there was a lot what what are you shaking your head about you guys really did a bad job on that what oh sorry we didn't mention o town I can't believe the way that you guys skipped over and saying we was unbelievable we acknowledge you just sort of threw them to the side it's a conversation about new kids on the block and Backstreet Boys. You obviously weren't listening.
Starting point is 00:16:47 I was listening. He was obsessed with them. We dismissed Zazz and we were like, it's clearly NSYNC and Backstreet Boys is the top two. Behind New Kids. There was not even a debate about whether NSYNC was ahead of Backstreet Boys when clearly they are. No.
Starting point is 00:16:59 If you're someone who's 30 or under, first of all, you don't even know New Kids on the Block. They didn't even make that type of a back. Okay, great. They might have started it. Anything before Kids on the Block. They didn't even make that type of an act. Okay, great. They might have started it. Anything before 1990 didn't exist. Well, if you go right now, you guys started doing record sales.
Starting point is 00:17:10 Go to Spotify right now. What are the most streamed songs? What do people actually listen to right now? What are the ones with lasting impact? I want it that way. That's the biggest song of any of them. Who cares about the number of streams? Someone yesterday made up an artist called Diplo and said they're popular I mean what conversation are we having look at who we're talking
Starting point is 00:17:28 to new kids on the block did have a Saturday morning cartoon now I don't know if anyone wants to have this but I am ready for a Backstreet Boys verse in sync debate I think the difficulty is that Backstreet Boys because none of them could be capable of going solo they They're deeper. They're still. Justin Timberlake, if we were drafting the two bands, hear me out, it would be Justin Timberlake first from NSYNC, the next four picks. J.B. Chazee was great, dude.
Starting point is 00:17:54 There's Nick, Brian, AJ, and Howie and J.C. are close. Donnie Wahlberg's ahead of all of them. Howie and J.C. are close. Howie is a great voice. J.C. is a tremendous. The bottom. He was a massive flop. The bottom three of In Sync are just like nothings.
Starting point is 00:18:08 JC, how dare you say that about Joey Fatone? Cisco had a great single. Joey Fatone, Joey Fatone is not only all over in Practical Jokers. He performs at Epcot, Joey and Friends. But also, Soda Drinker Body. I don't know that that means he was a good singer though. That's hard times, dog.
Starting point is 00:18:23 Hot Dog and Presario too. Can I tell you an idea that I had of me that I think only you would appreciate and I'm glad that I didn't follow through on it. So you know how like there's all these podcasts that are like watch along podcasts and they rewatch like old shows and then they break down the shows.
Starting point is 00:18:39 Are you familiar with this concept? Yes. Okay good. So I was joking around about doing that here with the aforementioned? Cougar and with Thomas who used to work here with us, please do it and we were gonna do it You don't even know what it is. We were gonna do it. We can't we can't do it now So we were gonna do it for impractical jokers and impractical jokers watch along from the beginning and break it down as though it was like real art
Starting point is 00:19:05 and we're breaking down all these pranks. And then half of them were sexual predators. Well, now. Half is a strong number. It's not half. It's a quarter. Two of four. One.
Starting point is 00:19:16 Who's the other one? Well, there's other texts out there, you know? And, you know, just saying. Glad we didn't do that one. All right, so forgive me, Billy, on this Wild Willy Wednesday. The apology I was gonna give before I, oddly, a boy band argument broke out again. The apology that I was going to give is, and Jeremy, I'm gonna cede the floor to you here
Starting point is 00:19:36 to just make all the corrections you want from yesterday's show about, not just necessarily boy bands, but anything that we got wrong wrong because there are any number of times when Zazzle says who the hell's Diplo where we age out in a way that's embarrassing but the thing before I do that with you okay because what's happening around here and I'm sorry that I'm this kind of disoriented today because this is not an act but i meant to apologize because every conversation that we were having yesterday that calls men who know the orgies are nuclear anybody orgies and no one ever says the jackson five when we're talking about boy you when we're talking about banned
Starting point is 00:20:18 it never comes up like is one of the great embarrassments of my career one of the great it shames of career. One of the great shames of my career that no one around here said anything that all of these forever will pale forever more because there was another group of people 20 years ahead of them that were far and away better than Joey Fat One. Okay, hold on, time out.
Starting point is 00:20:40 So there was a Jackson 5 and all these other bands we've mentioned is all these other bands were manufactured. They were put together versus Jackson 5 was an actual family, right? These people grew up together, so there's a chemistry there you can never duplicate. Having said that, I thought you were going to go with New Edition, which is the blueprint for all these other bands. New Kids on the Block was basically, this New Edition thing is cool, what if we did
Starting point is 00:21:00 a white one? New Edition was mentioned by... They were eventually mentioned yesterday. Yeah, because Zaz said that New Kids on the Block were the original, and then eventually it had to be brought up that, well, they were really based on New Edition. Right. And then also, if we want to talk about Stardom, New Edition, all those jokers went on to be solo acts. And you can't say that about any of them other bands.
Starting point is 00:21:18 They all went on to be solo acts. That was the one thing with NSYNC that made them different than everybody else. Backstreet Boys, the only reason they're still together is because none of them could do it on their own. Couldn't stand, but NSYNC, again, you have Timberlake obviously superstar. J.C. Chazay had a solo career. And he's written for a lot of other artists
Starting point is 00:21:37 is what it is. Sure, but it's like, okay. And then Joey Fatone, my guy, I love him, but also he's playing an Epcot apparently with you. I mean, Chris Kirkpatrick was the voice of My Shiny Teeth and Me on The Fairly Oddparents. That's not a huge moment in your career. We saw Chris Skylar. Chris Kirkpatrick one day, when we were at ESPN,
Starting point is 00:21:55 was just hanging out in the bar at the Clevelander. No, it wasn't Super Bowl week. It was just a random week. He was just hanging out there with friends, and we sent multiple people down there to go like do a, for sure we were caught, to do a pass, like I think that's Chris Kirkpatrick. And he was wearing shorts, so then we started
Starting point is 00:22:12 like comparing tattoos, like pictures we could find of tattoos on his calf to see if it was him. Turns out it was him just hanging out there with his friends. We were all too embarrassed to talk to him. The crazy hair going? No, no. Not anymore?
Starting point is 00:22:24 No, toned down. Tony, no way that you're too embarrassed to to talk to him. The crazy hair going? No, no, no, tone down. Tony, no way that you're too embarrassed to go talk to him in that situation, right? I don't know who he is, so yeah, I'll go talk to him. No, but I'm just saying, no, but I'm saying, would you behave the way, Billy said he's- I don't have the reverence for Billy's- This is his thing, he's too cool for everything.
Starting point is 00:22:37 No, I actually do. I don't know who that is. You don't know who one of the members of the biggest bands of all time is. I don't know if it's Baxter Boys or NSYNC, I don't know which one it is. Okay. Can you tell me? No, I'm not indulging you on this.
Starting point is 00:22:47 We'll talk about this at your media review. Okay. Billy, I wanna turn that. He wants me to know bands I don't know? Like, what do I do? No, the question I was asking you, Tony, is if you would behave that way around anyone that you admired.
Starting point is 00:23:02 You're hiding around them, you're taking pictures of their tattoo, you're trying to make sure it's them, but then you never get close enough to actually talk to them or have an exchange. You just have the story of photographing their ankle. No, I've been known to go up and say hi. Like, Dan, there was one time where we were at Sandbar.
Starting point is 00:23:19 Yeah, there was one time we were at Sandbar, Dan, back in the day, and I went up and I said hi to you, and I said, hey. Wow. Respectfully, Dan is no Chris Kirkpatrick. OK. But if I don't know Chris Kirkpatrick, and I've seen Dan on TV my whole life,
Starting point is 00:23:29 that's the closest thing I have to somebody who's famous. That doesn't feel respectfully. I just want to say that right now. He's no Chris Kirkpatrick. You remember this event? Probably not. How old were you? This was pro.
Starting point is 00:23:40 I'll look it up. It's on my Instagram. Hold on. Did you know your dad? You just said hi to your dad's friend. Yeah, but I mean not my dad's friend. I've never met Dan before, I just saw him at a sandbar and they had an event and I was like,
Starting point is 00:23:50 let me go say hi to Dan and there was. Can I bring something back for a moment? Please. I think, and I'm saying this as a compliment to Tony because I feel like he's been getting beat up. I think Tony probably goes on the best dates with his wife out of everyone here. Thank you.
Starting point is 00:24:04 I... I don't need you for that, he's right. Tony probably goes on the best dates with his wife out of everyone here. Thank you. I'm only for that, he's right. Zazzos dates at a bar, shit dates. Like we could agree on that. And it's good for me, I don't know what you're talking about. Exactly, well that's the attitude that, you know, led to the breakup probably. It's good for me, you know. They just did Backstreet Boys, I mean, geez.
Starting point is 00:24:20 Yeah, but you went to Backstreet Boys because you wanted to see Backstreet Boys. Tony, I feel like him and his wife like actually go on dates They dress up in their linens and they go they they put on their heels they do all that stuff Yeah, and they like still like are very much like in love I date my wife. Yeah When you when you go out with your wife through the restaurant Do you sit on the same side of the booth never because because we're normal people you pull her chair out when you sit down
Starting point is 00:24:45 I tried to Sometimes sometimes the place we go to the waiters will do it for us just inconvenient sometimes like I'm gonna walk Do you guys not do that? I've done it. I've done take your wife on dates. I've done of it I see Tony on a date with his wife at the Cole concert. That's right. Yeah, I Believe I'll probably beat Tony on most romantic But we'll have a game show about it at some point and we'll figure out how to. Who's your sunflower guy now that we're on the subject?
Starting point is 00:25:10 I don't know what that means. Oh, okay, nevermind. Sunflower plug. You have a sunflower person for when you get your wife's sunflowers? Told you mine before. Romance. I'll give you my sunflower guy, don't worry.
Starting point is 00:25:19 Look it up. No, I go get my wife's sunflowers. In a field? I didn't realize what you were asking me when you said who's your sunflower person. No, I go to, wife sunflowers. I didn't realize what you were asking me when you said who's your sunflower person. No, I go to, I get them from Whole Foods. Is that what you're saying? With flower friends.
Starting point is 00:25:31 Whole Foods, this guy. Do you even know what love is? So they shouldn't, they're not good flowers at Whole Foods? You gotta go, you gotta have a plug. You gotta have a guy you go to. Maybe in the La Vaquita, a former La Vaquita. There are people that look down on grocery store flowers for so I don't understand That either who knows where I get my flowers. I go to Publix. I get flowers
Starting point is 00:25:51 I take off the hair I take off you know where they have good tulips Where's that target has good tulips in tulip season you can go there get them at an affordable price You can then you go into like the craft section you go buy your own ribbon Then you take off all the plastic surroundings you go buy your own ribbon, then you take off all the plastic surroundings, you go buy the ribbon, you tie a bow around it like this, and like, look at this! No one knows if that cost me $12.99 or if that cost me $87.
Starting point is 00:26:13 Great prices on the tulips, tulips for the price of one. If you're ripping off the public sticker from the flowers, it's probably not the best. No, you gotta get rid of that plastic that it comes in. You gotta, yeah, you destroy that evidence You got to get rid of that plastic that it comes in. You got to, yeah, you destroy that evidence right away. Get rid of that plastic. Yeah. Don Lebatard.
Starting point is 00:26:32 What is the worst part of the life? Stugats. The worst part of the life of what? This is the Don Lebatard Show with the Stugats. So to drink your bodies in sports, can we, are these all going to end up being baseball players? Is there a reason that you just keep choosing nothing but baseball? You threw Jalen Rose in there. Dexter Pittman too. There's going to be an occasional. Mike Loll he put in, not fat. There's an inflammation we're talking about here, right? Like this
Starting point is 00:27:14 is Billy asked you moments ago, he asked you, how do you look like that if you don't drink soda? It's bullshit. Michael ha ha. Michael Dolyak. Yeah. No, but Michael Dolyak, but Michael Dolyak. How does he look like he has a soda bottle? Michael Dolyak doesn't seem like he has had any sugar since 1988.
Starting point is 00:27:34 False. That person is not an egg. What Michael Dolyak are you looking at? Michael Dolyak looks like a guy who buys the two liter because it's cheaper per ounce than buying the 20 ounce. Bill Wennington. Oh yeah. Big Bill. That soda.
Starting point is 00:27:47 I have no idea how you're like pasty and white. The criteria is. Well he just told you, he beat you to the punch there. It's just pasty and white. And I would say also inflammation, right? But I will, you tell me I have this wrong. I mean, because you know, because I would argue as we talk here
Starting point is 00:28:04 that if Michael Doliak was behind the shirtless, and I would love if that were so, though not as much as Chris would like if Paul Skeens were, I think all of these people here would be impressed by that Michael Doliak would not look like he drinks very... Even today? That him and the Plumleys and whatever it is that you think are people, white and pasty, that those people shirtless would not look to you. Oh, this guy crushes soda.
Starting point is 00:28:27 So you guys did this to Michael Doliak when you're like, that guy hasn't, that's probably him now too, by the way. Why do we have this picture on deck? Why did Dan just do that shit out there? And then- I didn't see him with the V. Someone saw him on vacation, it seems like. This is a picture someone here took. Okay, but this is where you guys consistently underestimate athletes.
Starting point is 00:28:49 But when you do it to Scalabrini, I think it's fair and maybe it shouldn't be. Is that ginger what you're doing? You're okay with it because it's ginger maybe? Still a hate crime, Dan. I got one from hockey. Phil Kessel. I got one from hockey. Everyone. No, that's not true. Well, maybe Magic Kachuk. Zaslow comes in here today and he was sad.
Starting point is 00:29:11 Zaslow was legitimately sad. I was. Because he's like, man, we really blew an opportunity yesterday. We really, as I said, he's gotten more and more confident and he's gotten better at telling me how to do my job, though not when I need him on the Jackson 5 because he's Got his biases that are cultural. I like what I like
Starting point is 00:29:29 He comes in here disappointed in me and to my face like says I'm disappointed in you and It's because yesterday I missed an opportunity and this is why he's a local South Florida media legend to celebrate that Yesterday was the three-year anniversary of the Panthers got Kachak. I blame myself just like I should have been all over that yesterday. That's something to talk about. Three years to the day. We can't do it today. It's not three years and a day to the day.
Starting point is 00:29:58 No, we had to do it yesterday. Three years to the day. Maybe the greatest trade in the history of South Florida sports. Also, three-year anniversary of Chris Whittingham abandoning the Panthers. Yeah. Jesus. So there's an all-time loser fan move. Dog. Could you think of a, that's never happened, right? There's never been that much success in three years after someone quit a fandom. And you have to consider the startling lack of success prior to previous 20 years. It's always great when a know-it-all knows nothing
Starting point is 00:30:32 and Whittingham has publicly, and he was, Whittingham is gonna have whatever he wants in broadcasting, already does really, and here when he was South Florida, we will always remember, eternal fool, like know-it-all gas bag fool about the best thing South Florida's ever seen in remember, eternal fool, like know it all, gas bag fool, about the best thing South Florida's ever seen in sports. He didn't want any of it. The things that you want as a sports fan,
Starting point is 00:30:51 the only reason you are a sports fan, he decided to abandon and not have any of it. It's word association now with person who made the worst sports decision that I can remember. Whittingham, getting rid of, like that's it, it's just easy, hate him, he's the worst sports decision that I can remember. Wittingham getting rid of, like that's it, it's just easy, hate him, he's the worst. I'm going to need to go on vacation because I'm having a little bit of trouble
Starting point is 00:31:13 keeping up with the show. I was trying to get to Tyreek Hill and Tyreek Hill's influence in our market headed into football. Tyreek Hill, whether you like it or not, Miami, when he speaks, he's, because of what's happened with your coach, he and your quarterback are the people on this team who speak for this team
Starting point is 00:31:32 and represent this team. This era of football and dolphin football belongs to Tua, Tyreek Hill, and McDaniel. I liked it so much better when the reps, like the spokespeople of the team were Jason Taylor and Zach Thomas To a so much better to a soda body. Yeah Tyree kill is saying he needs to be a better leader. Keep in mind what we're coming out of
Starting point is 00:31:54 Okay, and this person can't be your leader like he can work hard But he can't be your leader the end of last season when I'm saying that's it. I'm done I quit in public like to cameras and everyone's like, what do you mean? him saying, that's it, I'm done, I quit, in public, like to cameras, and everyone's like, what do you mean? This can't be your leader. This needs to be just your speed. This shouldn't be your voice. Kansas City didn't let him talk.
Starting point is 00:32:10 Like Kansas City, he wasn't, you didn't hear this much from him when he was in Kansas City. I think McDaniel's gonna buy this though. I bet they make him captain again. It's bullshit, man. It's like, he does this every year, and then he has a bad game, and then he'll rip the team again, it's like, McDaniel wants to convince us that the culture's changed but he's gonna make
Starting point is 00:32:27 him captain again. I mean I'd speak to you on this okay you need your leader to be your hard worker and I do not question his work ethic but I question everything else. I don't question his work ethic, I don't question his speed, I question everything else and I feel comfortable doing that. Like this is that this person okay when we're when we're when Zazzle's like, ah, they're crimes of immorality, or yeah, I know, whatever the recklessness is, and you make your judgments about however many children he has,
Starting point is 00:32:53 I don't know whether it's 10 or 11, but emotional person who's violent with women, we've only seen some of that. And this person represents your team, and some things about him get forgotten because he's fast But he is a reckless immature person. We've seen that publicly. It's obvious. He cannot be your leader Can't be your leader. I think one of the things you guys are neglecting is how is he perceived in the locker room? I don't know. I'm just asking because sometimes
Starting point is 00:33:23 Leadership is not bestowed, sometimes it's just there. And so the guys listen to him, if they respect him, if they look up to him, like it's kind of hard to fight that. But how can they when in the last game of the season he's on the sideline, they're about to come out for an offensive series and Jalen Waddle yells over to him, yo, Reek, you coming? Oh, you're done? Oh. Like, he literally told them I'm done in the middle of the game.
Starting point is 00:33:51 Well, but here's your problem. A bunch of suckers in that locker room, then. Okay, well, no. This, well. Yeah. Their teammate quit on them? Oh, it's my leader. Well, but here, okay. So you say there's suckers in the locker room. Man, this one's complicated. So he came from a champion okay and he left for money in power and got it they run to room because he's the one with the money in the power everyone else here's pretty interchangeable
Starting point is 00:34:11 everyone knows all or car quarterbacks dot we can't trust him all we got all we got that we know is he's fast like that shape that changes everything our coach doesn't look so good when he's injured our quarterback doesn't look so good if he's not trying his hardest what i mean is saying is interesting because they might not respect a million things about him but he makes the most money in there you know him in his quarterback
Starting point is 00:34:36 and he's got a ton of power he's also the only one has done some actual winning that's that's the thing he's the only one like when all of them get questioned for being tough, he's not questioned for it. We're not questioning his toughness. So when he says, well, how do the guys feel about him? I would say you got a whole lot of guys who don't have job security proof that they're actually winners.
Starting point is 00:34:55 And that's the guy that's at the top of the food chain as their most famous important person. But they also have did plenty of winning without him in Kansas City. Like as soon as he was gone, they didn't really lose a step, and they actually have done more winning without him than they did winning with him. Like honestly, if you're a Dolphins fan, I don't know how you can want anything but them
Starting point is 00:35:13 having traded him already. Like they should have gotten out from the Tyreek Hill business already. Oh, it's really not possible though. It's like the cap hit, the dead money would be so huge if you traded him. Like it's not worth it. You have to just keep him.
Starting point is 00:35:26 Well, you won't get something fair in exchange for him, right, but I think the most productive days of Tyree Hill are behind us. Do you not think that? Like I think the Tyree Hill window probably, the Dolphins window in general with this team has probably closed somewhat. That is such, I mean you might be right
Starting point is 00:35:42 and that is such a disgrace. We'll always have that Ravens game. I remember watching that on TV. We had like nine on game. We ordered two of Jersey because of that game. That Dolphins Ravens game, that one, that one to me was, I know there was a game where they scored 70.
Starting point is 00:35:54 No, no, the Ravens game. The Ravens game was the pinnacle. They were down like three touchdowns at halftime. We went to the movies, didn't see the game. I know I'm thinking of it through the Dolphins prism but there has to be another example of a team having such a small window of being good. The Dolphins, what did we have?
Starting point is 00:36:10 We had the best offense of that, and then everyone got hurt at the end of the year, we lost in that, but that one year, Dolphin fans were like, we have Mike McGoode. There was three seasons. And it's done. There was three seasons. There was the first season,
Starting point is 00:36:21 and then there was the injury with Tua. Then there was the second season. And that was it, it's two years. Yeah, I guess, yeah. Even that first one we weren't convinced yet. It was really just one year of like, we are good. And then it's gone. And I feel like what other team had a one year run
Starting point is 00:36:35 of being good? It's bullshit, I thought we had arrived. I was like, I waited my whole life to be good. And it's done already. The Rams had a small window but then won the Super Bowl. What do you guys make of like the reports? I guess like former dolphins that come out and kind of take shots at McDaniel's basically saying like yeah He doesn't run a tight ship like there's no structure there people just come and go as they please they do whatever they want like
Starting point is 00:36:54 That's a problem. I like coming in here and having rules to follow because everyone was accurate Everyone was praising him for that like oh look at him. He's a different guy. He comes in here He has his meetings that you know whatever 25 past the hour because it's been 25 years. Tell Marino we're gonna break all your records. Yeah he goes around he has the shoes with the tags on them still and then you know the capris and this and that. He's going to heat games and sitting courtside a lot. Living his life he loves his wife and kids like where's this guy's thing. Where's the shirt at practice I wish it were colder. Yeah and then we're getting frostbite sunglasses indoors do you guys realize what a ticking time bomb this is when zaslow is talking about disgrace
Starting point is 00:37:31 we haven't even started with this with the disgrace i really i'm looking at what the chiefs have been for 10 years however it is they got to that kind of excellence and tyree kill almost like a caricature like like a cartoon, like a stereotype, comes in and gets the money and the power of breaking away from team, and now you're gonna try to rein him in when all he's known is success, and it's just so easy to lead and get along
Starting point is 00:37:57 when everything's good. When everyone's healthy and fine, it's just so easy to do. You cannot trust this person headed into an uncertain season to not be volatile as your leader and the front of your team. You lose three games and he has four catches because you can't block again. This whole thing is gonna go up in flames. He's gonna get fired during the season because they've given him all the power. They can't take it back now. He
Starting point is 00:38:24 yells at the end of the season get me out of here I'm gone and now he's given you this sound to start training camp because he's your guy he's your voice he's your legs. This is what you're stuck with dolphins you're riding this. My whole life and I've always been a competitor though. I'm going to raise me away. I enjoy winning. I mean, I know how to lose, but in those moments like that, I need to be better as a leader. And I realized that throughout this whole entire offense
Starting point is 00:38:55 because ever since me and my family got here, this fan base has been special to us. You know, showing up to like different engagements. Whenever we meet people in the community, they've been great. So as a leader of this team and also as a leader of this community, I just need to be better in that sense. And then just know like, like there are like a ton of like little kids that like look up to me as a player, as a role model. So I just got to remind myself of that, you know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:39:26 And then just take hold of that and then own it. So.
