When WestJet first took flight in 1996, the vibes were a bit different.
People thought denim on denim was peak fashion, inline skates were everywhere,
and two out of three women rocked, the Rachel.
While those things stayed in the 90s,
one thing that hasn't is that fuzzy feeling you get when WestJet welcomes you on board.
Here's to WestJetting since 96.
Travel back in time with us and actually travel with us at westjet.com slash 30 years.
Are we tanking or not?

The Hockey Show was off last week
Because I was busy
getting beaten by a bunch of kids
In a barbecue contest
You can watch that video
on the Levitard show YouTube.
By the way, Dave, Jody and Chico,
who were a part of the Meet Dave team
along with myself, we deserve the better fate.
We were better than those damn kids, right?
Let's get that straight right now.
And you can check that video out, as I said,
because it was produced by and edited by Rosie
with the intent on making me
look like a jackass.
Thank you very much, Rose.
No, you didn't look like a jackass.
I'm so sorry.
I know. No, you're not.
You're not sorry.
You did.
You did.
You talked, I just filmed.
Okay, well, you talk to.
You talk, I filmed.
It's not that hard.
No, I mean, you talk to.
You had a microphone next to.
Yeah, yeah.
I actually got a fish.
Well, Roy got the fish, and I tried to take out the thing.
It's very difficult.
Like, like, the spines go to you, and then Roy was like, you just killed her.
You let Rose around a sharp object?
She picked it up.
I picked it up.
Oh, my God, dude.
But Roy was like, you just killed it.
So I was like, no, don't die on me for fish.
Nemo, no.
Nemo, no.
So, yeah, I took the hook out and threw the fish back in the water.
I would have been the same way.
No, I took it.
You didn't.
I did take it for anyone because I don't.
I did.
I took the hook out of fish.
Literally.
The video says, roll the tapes.
There's one line of demarcation on whether this was a successful trip or not.
What did you lose?
Last year you lost a hat.
You lost your wallet.
But we got a back.
You had to go fishing in like the,
dump for your wallet, didn't you?
Yeah.
No, this time my wallet
staying in my car,
I just had one backpack
and my hat
was floating,
so whenever I lost it,
we could go get it back.
Well, Dave had his hat
fly off first,
which was not something
I was expecting.
No, that's a rookie move.
Yeah, that would be her move.
Right, he probably felt
a little embarrassed.
Excuse me, but it's my second time,
so it's not rookie.
Well, that's why I didn't lose your hat this time.
The sophomore time.
Anyway, as I said, there was no hockey show last week that meant there was no trade deadline talk.
So that we missed last week, we might as well talk about the trade deadline now.
So what was the biggest surprise and one of the bigger moves that you thought that happened last week, Friday, David?
I mean, I was a little surprised, I guess, that the Panthers didn't do much.
And we'll talk about that more than a little bit.
Oh, excuse me.
So I'll just set that first.
I was wondering what I was, I was forgetting to say something.
Oh, yes, we had the Panther thing.
We could talk about the Panthers moves in a little bit.
But yes, as you were saying.
Let's see.
Top trade deadline moves.
There wasn't really any big splashes, right?
I was just going to say.
There were no big surprises.
Like, I'm racking my brain for anything.
I jumped out and smacked me in the –
Why don't you go ahead then?
Because you kind of set up.
The John Carlson move?
Yes.
What I was it.
17 years with the Washington Capitals, he gets traded the biggest.
That is –
Anaheim.
I'm sorry, Anaheim.
But the biggest move is a guy who's like been in the lead for two decades.
Yeah.
I mean, there are people.
Now, there's a generation of fans that don't know this capitals team without Alexander Overskin or John Carlson.
They've been around forever.
I mean, I think a lot of the big business this year got done before the deadline.
So the Jari trade, the Quinn Hughes trade obviously occurred.
When was that back in December or November?
You know, the John Carlson trade was the surprising trade because nobody really had him on their radars.
And I love that move for Anaheim to go get some veteran experience to pair with all the young talent that they have out there.
especially at their blue line.
I think that move will really help them a lot.
But overall, it was a pretty quiet deadline, guys.
The most surprising thing to me, and you guys can tell me what you think about this,
is the lack of movement from some of these teams,
especially, in my opinion, Carolina.
I don't understand why Carolina.
The East is wide open.
It's right there for the taking for them,
and they didn't go out and do anything except get Deloree.
I don't know why the Oilers didn't make another move in net.
I thought they might after the Jar,
The sorry thing went so south, but yeah, I think the big surprises were the lack of movement rather than the actual movement itself.
What would Carolina need in this situation?
They always need a second line center and goaltending.
Like they still just have been calling out for a second line center for years.
And they can't get rid of Jespercat Kokoniemi.
They just got Deloree.
Like, Eilers, it looks like he's going to be out for a while.
Like that happened right after the deadline where they did, again, nothing virtually.
like, man, they just, they just never go for it.
They always hold on to all these prospects that they have, and they never go out and make a big move.
I think the big move, not the big move, but the move Carolina should have made was made by Colorado instead,
and Colorado's probably going to win the Stanley Cup, and that was acquiring Nick Waugh from Toronto.
Yeah.
Like a great two-way center can play, you know, middle six-type role.
He's really what Carolina could use, just depth, they can pop some offense in there.
Colorado, I mean, last year they got Brock Nelson, now they get Nick Waugh.
They were already a wagon with Nathan McKinnon, Kail McCar.
They got two amazing goalies with the name Wood in their last name.
I thought you were going to say Nazim Kodry.
You said Nick Waugh, but I thought you were going to say Nassum Kadri for the Colorado avalanche and a guy that's also a good move.
The hurricane should have gotten because that's another guy that could be their, I mean, he would be the 2C on Carolina.
He's obviously the 2C in Colorado as well unless he's playing on the wing with McKinning.
He said 2C.
That's a great player and that was a great move by Colorado in my opinion to bring that guy back.
It feels like he's been the missing link for them for a few years since they last won a cup and some of the struggles they've had since.
Do you have anything else on the tree deadline?
Next year will be more fun?
Probably.
Nothing happens.
Yeah, no.
Really just a blah trade deadline.
It was.
Yeah, it was.
So you were just kind of waiting around for a big move to happen.
We were waiting around for a big move to happen and it was like Justin Falk going to Detroit.
You know what I mean?
It was like the big move.
I'm excited to see how the playoffs.
roll out though because like now obviously the panthers probably not going to be around we're going to
be able to what we haven't done in a few years which is kind of sit back and enjoy it and analyze it a little
bit differently and rest yeah well we don't have to travel you know cross-continent multiple flights
we don't have to do that yeah that'll be nice I don't know punchers chance all of a sudden guys
rose once the interesting thing that happened in the tread deadline was roy trying to get
service in the in the boat because we we didn't have service so we couldn't know anything so
he was like where do I get my service
I'm like, God, take my phone.
That's your foot.
Is it going to help?
Can I ask you guys one more hockey question real quick?
No.
No, okay.
No, go ahead.
Robert Thomas Stang, what did you guys think about that?
Because that was the big name out there that was kind of like could be moved.
St. Louis is kind of in the middle right now.
Nobody really kind of knows what direction they're going to go in.
There were some teams out there that could have used them.
What did you guys think about him saying put?
Yeah, I mean, one of the blues thing, they're not going to make the playoffs this year.
So, I mean, they're effectively sellers.
So why?
The blues at the moment.
are there's six points out of a
playoff spot.
I don't think that's happening.
Two more games played than San Jose
who I think I had as a playoff team.
Yeah, yes, you did.
But yeah, I was a little surprised too, Ethan,
because Bennington was on the market.
He didn't go anywhere.
Thomas has been on fire, though.
Like, I understand.
He would have drawn out.
26-year-old center.
I understand wanting to keep him and build around him as well,
but they could have gotten,
especially with the prices at this deadline.
My God.
Yep.
Okay, several illegal things happened recently.
first the Malkin slash on the shoulder of Dahlene and the penguin's sabres.
Not his face?
Not his face?
It was his shoulder.
They said it was his shoulder.
But yeah, look at it.
He just got whacked what the pads are on his shoulder.
It was not a match penalty for high sticking.
It was a slash.
That could have been either way.
That was a full-fledged two-hand chop.
That was ridiculous.
So Malkin ended up with a five game suspension on that one.
On Tuesday, the oil is an avalanche got together and Nathan McKinnon while skating parallel to the goal line tip the shot wide.
Okay.
But his momentum carried him through the crease and collided with Connor Ingram.
But the refs gave McKinnon a major for go-tuner interference in the game misconduct.
The major was rescinded by the NHL, by the way, so he won't be in a suspension if he had another one sooner or later.
And last, I'm sorry.
You can't have your heart trophy candidate missing games.
It's just not good look.
No, no.
And last night, Radco Gudis, trying to poke check the puck away from Austin Matthews,
collided with the knee of Matthews.
Gutis was given a game misconduct, the Maple Leafs.
I just never responded to the captain or the best player on the team getting injured like that
on knee-on-knee collision.
Never responded, not a single fight.
You're a jerk.
Tustle on Rakuten on Rakuten.
I don't know if they were intimidated by him or anything like that,
but you got to step up for your.
captain and they did not do that.
So Gouda's got a, is going to have a
phone hearing, not an in-person hearing.
So that pretty much means...
There's a suspension coming.
A suspension coming, but it's going to be five games or less, most likely.
What did you think about these three incidents that happened?
You didn't even mention Brandon Hagle going after Rasmus Dahlin.
He got fined.
Yes.
I don't know what Rasmus Dahlia's been doing.
I don't know what Dahlia's doing.
No, look, it's hockey.
I mean, the McKinnon thing I didn't think was in terms.
intentional, so I'm glad that like, and look, I'm very hyper-sensitive to violence against
goaltenders, but I thought that was okay. The Goudis thing, knee hits are, you know,
they're always funky, Radco Goudis. I think he's cleaned up his reputation over the last five,
six years. Like when he first went to Florida, it was like, oh, God, Radco Goudas, but he was,
he toned it down. Like, he's a violent physical player, but he's not headhunting like he may
have been in early of his career, but. It wasn't even knee-hunting in that situation. It was
a tip of a poke check. Yeah. I don't know about it.
that voice.
Uh-oh.
He hit,
okay,
maybe he hit the...
I think colliding
with Austin Matthew's knee
was a light way to put it.
He kind of stuck his leg out.
You're putting yourself in a position
to get hurt too, though.
Like, it's not like you can just stick your leg out
and you're like, okay, I'll be fine.
Like, that's a dangerous place.
So when anybody accuses somebody
of doing that on purpose,
I always not saying Ethan's wrong,
I just always pause because like you could really
bleep up your own leg,
your own knee there too.
It's happened before.
I mean, it's like Nikita Kutrov
in that knee incident against Matthew Kachach.
Chuck. I mean, what we say about that?
I've put that
to the back of my mind. That was at a very
sensitive time.
And just glad Chuckie turned out
to be okay after that.
I have plenty of thoughts about
Nikita Kuturov's antics on the ice.
You're a big Kuturov fan. I'm surprised you didn't wear
a Kuturov jersey today. He's a dirty player.
He's a very dirty player.
I mean, straight up, Rosie.
I got something to say, Matthew.
That's why you put your finger up.
Yeah.
That happened to Matthews.
That's what's going to get him out in two years,
and he's going to come to the Florida Panthers.
That's why he's going to be out of the team.
You're saying that Austin Matthews is going to be a panther?
Austin Matthews, Brady-Kitchuk.
They're all coming down.
All the Canadian captains.
He doesn't want to be Toronto anymore.
The American captains in Canada, they're coming to the Panthers.
After the two years, he's got to be like, oh, Panthers.
Bye.
Unbelievable.
Okay, so everybody's coming to the Panthers.
In two years?
Man.
If I'm not dead?
If you're, I'm sure you're going to be,
don't put that out in the universe.
If you're not or if he's not.
Oh, me.
Don't put that out on the universe, woman.
You go to church every Sunday.
You're going to be fine.
It's us sinners that we got to worry about.
I go to church every Sunday.
Dying is not bad.
Huh?
Dying is not bad.
Well, for you, maybe.
Yeah, of course, because I know where I'm going.
This has taken a turn.
Yeah, right?
Holy!
I'm just saying.
I mean, he's going to die from a knee-on-need contact.
Ethan, do you have any thoughts on this existential crisis?
that we're having right now. No, I've got too much going on.
I've got a lot going on. I'm juggling a lot of things. Let's go.
Come on. Get Percy in here.
Percy's under the desk. Percy's under the desk. Let me get it.
Percy's going to live forever.
The Panthers Street.
Correct. Hey, I'm trying to talk here, woman.
All right. The Panthers trade deadline saw them lose a player.
That was Jeff Petrie. The team got a seventh round draft pick from Minnesota for him.
They also made another deal with Minnesota. Vinie Hennistroza.
So they got him.
But they did not deal with Sergey Proverbalt.
Oroski or A.J. Greer.
And instead, they will try to negotiate new contracts with them.
They're going to have to decide whether to shut down Brad Marshand or actually play
Alexander Barkoff at the end of the season just for him to get, I guess, reps or whatever.
They still have that protected top 10 pick that they will be able to keep if they, again,
are in the worst 10 teams in the league.
So there's a lot of variables up in the air for a team that seems to be very prideful.
that does not seem not like they won a tank at all, given the results in both games
versus Detroit and last night versus Columbus.
What say you, David?
As it stands, the Panthers are the 12th worst team in the league, but they're only two points
out of dropping all the way to like seventh.
It's a tough situation to analyze, to predict rather, just because, like, you know,
as you said, the Panthers are full of pride, they're going to go out there and they're going
to give whatever they have every night.
It's just how much do they have to give.
and who can they put on the ice at this point.
We've seen Sam Reinhart miss time.
We've seen Anton Lindell miss time.
We know that Brad Marchand's going to miss extended time.
Barkov is skating, but is he going to play?
I don't know.
Does it matter?
Like getting reps, maybe.
You know, you're going to have to deal with the salary cap soon.
Seth Jones is about to come back.
That's going to cost them money against the cap.
I think they've got like $2.5 million.
They're going to have to make another $1.3 or whatever it is to make room for Seth.
But it's just so many balls are in the air right now for a season that's, you know, essentially over.
I think at this point you're just setting up for, you're setting yourself up as
best you can for next year.
Yeah, we saw the lineups against the home game versus Detroit.
And last night, they are playing the young players right now.
And, yeah, good on Benning coming in for his first game.
We got the game-winning assist in overtime.
Yeah, that was nice.
Look, he's somebody who's drafted in 2020.
So he's been around for a while.
High-end prospect, as the Panthers brought him in, he's been really good for Charlotte.
He's been a consistent source of offense from their blue line.
Over the last, I think, like three or four weeks, he had really turned it up in terms of
offensive contributions. So it's good to see that they're giving him a chance to show what he can do
at this level. They could use young guys that are going to be cheap moving forward. So the more
HL, the more draft pick type guys that they can bring in and they can have contributed at the
NHL level, the better. Percy has a lot of thoughts. Hold on. We don't have time for this.
No, I actually have a lot of thoughts on the Panthers. You just stopped Percy?
I think Bill Zito sent a clear message that the Panthers truly believe that if they had not
suffered all these injuries this year, especially the Barkov one. They could have and would have
won the Stanley Cup. I think he sent a clear message that they think they can just do it again
next year with pretty much the same exact squad. They'll have a little bit of financial
flexibility to make some ads probably at the bottom of the roster, I would assume. Oh, by the way,
the cap's going up. And the cap's going up. And they're probably going to have to add another
goaltender next year. So we'll see what they try and do. And obviously, if they end up with the top 10
pick, maybe the balls bounced away and you get somebody really special. But anyway, that
That's besides the point.
I think the other point is just that...
I don't think that's besides the point.
No, that is...
I think Rose just stumbled into a situation
that's going to piss the entire world off.
It would be amazing.
It would be the greatest thing.
It would be worse than when Crosby and Flower
went to the Penguins back to back.
Yeah, it would be amazing if they ended up.
You miss out on the playoffs.
You take a year off in the middle of your window
and you end up with the number one overall pick
and a player that some had compared,
like put in that generational type tier in Gavin McKenna.
But I think it's pretty clear to the Panthers.
They believe in what they're doing.
They believe in Sergey Barovsky.
Look at how he's played in the last two starts since the trade deadline.
Look at how the Panthers have played as well.
And they're coming back and they're going to remind everybody,
they're going to use the rest of this year to remind everybody we're not going anywhere.
All right.
So let's say they do end up in the worst 10.
They keep the pick.
They don't get number one pick.
All right.
So they don't get Gavin McKenna.
Do you go after, do you draft the goaltender or do you go with a position player in whatever
spot they're going to end up getting?
Honestly, I think if the Panthers end up with their draft pick, if it ends up being a top 10 pick, unless the McKenna situation happens, I'd actually be kind of surprised if they ended up making that pick.
I agree.
I think that's a pretty solid asset.
This offseason is going to be a little funky in terms of free agency.
It's not like a huge market.
So it would not surprise me at all to see that turn into a movable asset for Bill Zito.
However, if they do make the pick, I would say you get the, like right now this draft, they're going to be some decent talent in the top half.
of the top track, the top half of the first round, speed, David Christ.
It's been a long morning.
Yeah.
So, no, like, I think ultimately the Panthers are in such a win now mode for the next several
years that bring in in somebody that couldn't contribute fairly soon, almost goes against
what they've been trying to do.
So hopefully they have that asset to move, but we'll see how it plays out.
That win-now mentality is why I think you saw guys like AJ Greer and J. Greer and J.
Boquist and others stick around because they know.
that AJ Greer is more valuable
to winning a championship next year should he
extend with the Panthers, which all signs point
to the fact that he wants to.
They know he's more valuable to winning a
championship next year than a first round pick would be
unless obviously that first round pick
is Gavin McKenna, which
if you're trading Greer for a first round pick
that's not happening. You know, you're getting
a late first round pick probably
because you're getting it from a playoff team.
The other thing is I think
they should move that, use that first round pick.
Like I would go after Jesper
Walshstead. That's the guy I would go after.
Because there's a little bit of clutter in that
goaltending situation in Minnesota right now. He's a young
goalie. He can be the future of your team
and he has shown he can be the
number one in net in Minnesota in my opinion this year.
That's a guy I would go after with a top 10 pick.
All right, it's time for puck luck brought you
by draft kings. The crown is yours. David, go ahead.
Only two games on the slate tonight, but I think we
dissected some value. So let's get started
with the Edmonton Oilers, St. Louis
game. We're going to go Evan Bouchard
over two and a half shots on goal. He's hit that
in four of his last six.
The Blues give up 28 shots per game,
and the third most shots on goal to defensemen.
We're also in that game going to take Robert Thomas getting a point.
Edmonton has given up the most goals in the NHL over the last 10 games,
and Robert Thomas has points in eight straight,
13 points during that span, Roy.
Third leg, Joel Hofer over 25 and a half saves.
St. Louis is allowing over 30 shots a game over their past 10,
just under 30, 29 and a half shots per game over the last 10 at home.
And Edmonton likes to put pucks on that.
And just to add a little bit of value,
sprinkle a little bit of extra to this.
We're going to take Bo Horvatt in the Kings Islanders game, an alternate line, over two
and a half shots on goal.
He's hit that number at eight of his last nine.
The Kings give up the fourth most shots on goal, the centers, and the seventh most shots
to forwards.
Total odds on this parlay is plus 575.
Let's go make some money.
All right, Dave.
Man, you made a chance to breathe.
I'm sorry.
We got a hard.
My win of the week, it's kind of a sad win.
Colin Dorgan, this young man lost his mother.
his brother and his grandfather in the shooting at the Pawtucket, Rhode Island hockey rink a couple
weeks ago.
He went out and scored the game-winning goal for his high school team in their playoff game
last week.
It was a double overtime goal for Blackstone Valley, sent them to the Rhode Island interscholastic
lead Division II boys hockey championship game.
A very happy moment.
The rink went crazy.
His teammates just totally mobbed him.
It was awesome.
So good on Colin.
Good for you.
Take whatever happiness you can get right now.
It's nice to see that the community is really rallying around this family.
Jared Kiso plays the title character on Shorzie.
That show has become a giant hit.
Settle down.
Yeah, I mean, if you look at my laptop, I got a whole bunch of stickers over here dedicated to show.
So, yeah, that show has become such a giant hit that is now taking the advantage of being a giant hit.
They're now barnstorming hockey arenas.
They are playing games called the Shorzi Classic in the United States and Canada.
And Kiso got emotional.
when the Shorzie Classic hit the destination of his favorite NHL team.
Holy smokes, this is where my favorite team on planet Earth plays.
Hi, everybody.
My name's Jared Kiso.
I'm from Listerville, Ontario.
I play Shorzy.
I want to thank everybody for coming out tonight, guys.
We are 8,400 strong in this beautiful, iconic barn.
I can't wait to see how loud you guys get.
He's trying.
He's got such a thick accent.
Yeah.
You know, we've done about a dozen of the...
across North America at this point, but this one is particularly special to me as a lifelong fan
of the Calgary Flames. There's a lot of guys on this bench right here that I idolized growing up.
Gentlemen, I just want to say it is an absolute honor to share the ice with you tonight.
Thank you so much for doing this with us.
As the Flames alumni.
He's so serious, but I'm just laughing.
I can't hear him talking about.
I never thought I'd get to play in this barn, and just in case I never get to again, I want to say
Calgary Flames, I love this team.
I will always love this team. It's Calgary Flames till I die.
So that was nice. That was nice for Jared to be in a barn, the Saddome, with all the Flames players that I used to look up to and idolize. That's pretty nice.
Ethan, what's your win?
My win of the week.
You got to think about that?
I got to think about it.
What was my win in the week this week?
Oh, yeah.
Okay.
The sound is, I'm just going to run through this.
We were on the...
I was watching the broadcast.
of the Red Wings game on Monday night.
The sound is in, but it's going to take too long to download.
Sorry, I got thrown off.
I'm doing a million things at once right now.
Okay, so describe the sound.
Okay, so Bob was Shuzin, friend of the show, obviously,
legend in the hockey chat.
The hockey chat got its first ever shout out on ESPN from Bob was
shoozen.
It was a great moment during, yes, I swear to God,
during the Red Wings game, during the Red Wings game on Monday.
Bob, they are,
did a highlight of the crazy, you know, lightning sabers game.
And they came back to Bob, and Bob told the story of how he got a text and the hockey chat.
I promise the sound is in the system, but we just totally forgot to grab it and whatever.
So anyway, Bob, shout out to you.
We'll play in the clothes.
We love you, Bob.
You're the absolute best, the voice of the NHL, Bob was choosing, giving the chat a shout out.
It was awesome.
All right, we'll play at the close of the show.
Rosie, what you win?
What the hell?
What's your win, Rosie?
It was not bad.
Whatever that was.
My win is, soces for accident.
This is a new movie that is going to be theaters.
Is that Sidney's Mom?
And it's...
It looks like Sidney's Sweeney's Mom on the left.
No, no, no.
That's Angelique Boyer and Barbara de Regal.
It's a comedy, guys.
Go watch the...
If you speak Spanish.
Woo-hoo!
That's my win of the week.
Hell, dude, I can't appreciate beauty.
Okay, what's your fill, David?
Appreciate beauty.
Thank you.
Come on.
My fail.
Former Sabres Enforcer and current TV analyst Rob Ray is not a little guy.
He's six feet tall, Roy.
He's big.
Yeah.
That's nothing to sneeze at.
But the other night, he had to do an in-game interview with Sabres defenseman Logan Stanley, who stands six foot seven without skates on.
Oh, he's on a box?
He was on a box.
Oh, boy.
Many little guys, Ethan, we're familiar with the box.
We know the box.
I know all about the box.
Whoa.
Do you?
Please play the clip so I can forget that he just said that.
sound up.
No, well, he's talking to him.
No, I didn't ask for sound.
But look, you see, the background shot,
he's standing on a good foot and a half tall box
so they can, you know, be eye level and everything.
But that's, I don't care if you're an NHL enforcer
or a 5-foot-7 podcast host.
That hurts your ego.
My fail is for you, Rob Ray.
I'm sorry.
My fail of the week is Charlie McAvoy's face.
Poor Charlie McAvoy, man.
It has been a rough season for McAvoy's mug.
Back in November, you took a puck to the face,
breaking his jaw.
early February he caught a
Sandysville Manus elbow to the jaw
when the Bruins played the Panthers before the Olympics.
Last week, Thursday,
he called a puck to the face.
On Tuesday,
before scoring the game winner versus the Kings,
he went to the locker room
after Sam Hellenius hit him
into the glass.
Face first, losing some
more the remaining teeth that you had.
In the face. In the face.
So this is what you have to say about playing through it.
You know, I wish the hits would stop coming, honestly.
You know, just, it's tiring.
My mouth, honestly, can't feel worse.
But I'll get some work.
We've got a really good dentist here, who's great.
I'm just really happy we got two points tonight, honestly.
I didn't feel great or have my stuff tonight.
And just to see it go in at the end,
and, you know, I kind of feel like all's forgiven.
and, you know, I just need to get some rest and, you know, I'll be better on Thursday.
We just keep this thing gone.
I can hear you laughing with your mic off rose.
This is not funny.
This man's mouth, this man's head has been injured so badly this season.
Yeah, but my timing with the sound effect was crazy.
It's not even funny.
He's hurt.
This is a painful situation.
Oh, my gosh.
Ethan, what's your fare?
My fare was me last.
All right, so that's your fail.
Good job.
What's your fail, Rosie?
My fail, this is not a fail for me.
It's a fail just for Roy because he thinks he's a fail.
For me, it's very funny.
And I am giving you culture, people.
I gave you culture in my wind,
culture, Mexican culture, and I'm giving you fishing culture.
So it's my favorite a little bit of a week.
We're getting beaten by a bunch of children.
That's fantastic, girls.
So we went to Key West, and sadly we got bitten by a bunch of children.
Were they actually children or were they?
Yeah, they were the
10 year old youth team.
They were actually kids?
They were, yeah.
They were lower teenage, like high, 10 to whatever.
The Bar Mitzvah boys took it down.
All right, so I don't know if they were Jewish or not.
Sorry, I just where I went with it.
But the age sounds about right.
All right, quickly, let's talk about the Oscars.
Rosie, what do you have?
Well, I actually don't enjoy that very much the Oscars because it's very
politicized.
Is it this week, the Oscars?
It's Sunday.
Yeah, it's Sunday.
Which I'm not going to be here.
Woo-hee.
You're going to have Adnan soon to break everything down.
Yeah, no, I know.
We're going to break it.
But the thing is, 16 Oscars for sinners.
Nominations.
Nominations, sorry, for sinners.
I don't like it because, you know what?
More than Lord of the Rings, it broke my heart.
Oh, that's really, oh, goodness, Lord.
Yeah, and I don't think Michael B. Jordan should win Best Actor.
I like Ryan Coogler, though.
Oh, Ryan Coogler, though.
As director, I think...
It would be a shame if Cinderers won best picture, but he didn't win...
Cougler!
He works here!
Oh, yeah.
Well, uh...
Nobody knows he's talking about.
Matthew Cougler.
It's a great joke.
Murder the rails.
Way off.
Yeah, so that's my own thought.
So, uh, people were going to do a live show on Sunday.
Well, they're going to do it.
I'm not going to be here.
So, watch it.
All right. For those of you watching on Draft Kings Network, check out a YouTube channel because we have the Damashach from Football America to share hockey stories.
That's David Demershack. Coming up next.
Hey, Roy, buddy.
You know that energy shift when the game gets good and everybody altogether in unison knows to stand up on their feet?
Oh, absolutely, Mike.
Yeah, you've been at many big-time sporting events. You know that moment quite well.
That's what it's like when you take your first sip of Cuervo.
Oh, delicious.
It's the signal that says, we're not checking the table.
time anymore, pal. It's when
small talk turns into stories.
Quervo, man, it's at
high five a random stranger effect.
That's right. The game is popping.
You're hugging people you never met before.
That's the kind of energy that Quervo
brings. It's so smooth, so
delicious. That's the
Quervo effect.
Keep it, Quervo.
Folks, listen up.

Listen, I'm old.
I'm turning 42 this year.
David's old.
He's turning 43 this year.
And this is why our very young producers in the other room are...
I turn 27 this year.
I'm old.
I'm 30.
I'm old.
No, you're not.
No, you're not.
You guys don't relate to us because you're
too damn young.
All right.
So we brought in a ringer.
We brought in a man who's older than all of us.
We brought in Dave Damasek,
who is, I'm not going to reveal
his age.
Is he still here?
This is some setup.
Yeah.
What the hell?
Wait, wait, what?
I didn't come on here to be attacked.
I apologize.
Come on, Roy.
What are you, Tom Wilson?
Listen, I mentioned all of this because you have a lot more experience than us.
That means you have a lot more hockey experiences,
experiences that you've gone through in your life.
So that means you have stories.
And you are on here today, hopefully more often, to regal us with your hockey stories.
So Dave, tell us a story.
Well, I go far enough back that I remember what real dynasties in the NHL, really more than any other sport, I guess, in the span of my lifetime, even more than the Chicago Bulls reigned over the NBA or the Patriots or Chiefs did pro football.
It used to always be. When I was growing up, I vaguely recall the Montreal Canadians completing
their fourth straight Stanley Cup run. And then that gave way immediately to four straight
Stanley Cup runs for the New York Islanders. And then the Oilers won four out of the next five.
That's what I grew up steeped in. So this, I'm still trying to get used to the idea of what
Roy said on the Lebitard show this week, which was,
which is the reality.
Like, if you win two in a row, you should be happy Florida Panthers fans or any other fan base.
Three in a row is just about impossible because of the elevated nature of the playoffs now
and how many games you have to run through to complete the feat.
It's just about it's borderline impossible to do these days.
But that's not really a story.
What story can I regale you with the time I drank from the Stanley Cup?
How about that?
Yes, we can go with that.
because I didn't do it.
Well, now that we have an understanding.
We kind of know now.
We have some experience that we know how hard.
We're not even allowed to hold it on our own.
Like if you don't win the cup, you're not even supposed to hold it without somebody who's actually allowed to be holding it holding it.
So let alone drinking out of it.
That's tough.
Yeah.
So who'd you pay?
Well, you're allowed to now.
Now you are.
No, we need somebody who they have to hold it for us.
We can't just go, you know, grab it.
Yeah, Phil Pritcher would kill us if we did that.
Oh, shame the devil.
I think you will see I like that though because now it makes me think you're aspirational enough at least to think like it's within the realm of possibility that I will be on an NHL roster at some point and maybe if things break the right way my team will win the Stanley Cup my organization will bring it home and then and only then will I drink in the cup maybe not on the roster but in the front office somewhere like an intern I'm assistant GM in 20 I don't know like I'm I'm
43. I feel like I had another 20, 30 years before I can finally retire.
So who knows where this is going to lead.
I mean, hell, in 20, 23, I was definitely afraid to touch the cup.
I could not do it.
And then the Panthers lost in the cup final.
I still can't do it.
And then they finally won.
And I'm hugging the thing.
Yeah.
None of us are ever going to.
Sorry, go, Dave.
Well, I was just going to say Roy's favorite player in today's game, the savior of the
NHL, Sidney Crosby.
I thought he ruined that.
I thought he spoiled all that foolishness.
when he handled the Prince of Wales trophy on more than one occasion.
Everybody can't touch it.
It's going to be a pox of me.
How about my greater skill than yours is going to win the day
and allow me to hoist the cup in a four night from now?
And that's exactly what he did, Roy.
Well, the Panthers famously touched the Prince of Wales trophy in 2023
and then lost the cup final.
So the next year, they were all like, we're not touching it.
We're not touching it.
And then it went back to back.
So they did it again the next year and then they won again.
So I don't think the Panthers will ever be touching the Prince of Wales Trophy.
Because they also touched the Prince of Wales Trophy in 96, did they not?
Yes.
They grew up.
Also, none of us are ever going to play in the NHL.
So I think we're good to touch the cup.
No.
If I let's establishes right now.
We can touch the cup when our favorite team wins.
Are you goons all in lockstep?
Well, now I hear Ethan bringing some sense to the conversation.
Would you guys really not drink from the Stanley Cup or it presented to you?
Oh, hell yeah, I would.
Your favorite grog thrown in there?
Who said I wouldn't?
I would now, yes.
Obviously, I mean, I'm dry, but I have to water.
It's hard to get your hands on it.
Hard to get in the room with it.
Hard to be able to physically embrace it.
So having the opportunity to be in that situation where somebody's got a beverage,
preferably an adult beverage, put it in the cup and drink out.
Like that's a lot of balls falling into place at the exact right way, Dave.
I'm not saying we wouldn't.
I'm just saying it's impressive that you have the opportunity.
I don't want any balls, anybody throwing their balls or any kind of ball.
No, we use puck.
That has no.
You know what?
Yes, thank you.
I have some buddies that drank from the cup during at the elbow room.
But wait a man.
They poured the beer from the cup on top of that head.
No, no, no, no.
Like, Joshapel was up there with them and got to like.
Seriously, how am I?
How was I not able to go up in the elbow room?
Because you didn't try hard enough?
Unbelievable.
I was in.
I'm going to tell my story.
story now. Okay, go ahead. I was once in the summer of 1991. That's how old I am. I was sitting in a bar
with my pals. It was Brett, Richie, and Josh, I think, are the three guys I was with. Very important
to include those details. We were sitting, it was a two-story bar, docks. It no longer exists.
And in the Shadyside area of Pittsburgh. And we were sitting there and it was round closing
time and the bartender upstairs said you guys should wrap it up with the pitcher we're closing down
we were dragging our feet and sipping our beers a little too slowly and then five minutes later he said
well if this uh get you to if this motivate you a little bit the stanley cup just showed up
downstairs it was with a person it didn't just show up on its own and that per that person was
was paul staggerwald who at the time was doing the the tv color analysis for the pittsburgh
And so we hurried ourselves along.
We ran downstairs immediately.
And there it was sitting on the corner of a bar.
And I swear there were not more than four other people in the joint.
That's spectacular.
So it was the Stanley Cup alone.
And, you know, a mouthy, as you guys may have noticed.
So I said to Paul Sagrewald at some point like, hey, man, would you mind if we gave it a feel, if we hoisted it, you know?
and he said, hey, that's what it's all about.
And then he referred to the guy next to him in a blazer who was there to guard the Stanley Cup.
And he said, as long as it's all right with him, it's good with me.
And the next thing you knew, we were like without skates on.
Otherwise, though, just like the fellas down on the ice a few nights before,
we were handing the Stanley Cup to each other and then to the two or three strangers around us and giving a feel for it.
Kind of heavy.
Not, not, you know, you think like, ah, because you see him like they're a little heavy,
but not overwhelming even for weak, weak arm Dave.
I was able to do that.
And then I worked up the nerve to say that to Staggy, mind if we put a little Iron City
beer in there and see what it tastes like.
And once again, if it's okay with him, it's okay with me.
And then we next thing, we're drinking in a line, like going around,
cannonball and Iron City beer from the Stanley Cup.
taking our turns and then this is before cell phones and easy photographs and everything so we had a
semi-sincere debate about first of all brett lived closest to home so he's like should
brett run and try to get a camera in time but it'll probably be gone before he gets back so he
didn't want to leave and then we thought maybe i mean there are four of us what if we make a run for
it what if we just make a run for the stanley cup not not like to steal it
and to do some grand heist and, like, hold it hostage for millions of dollars or anything.
Plata a movie.
Just to spend a night with it.
Just spend a night with it.
We'll give it back or we'll leave it out somewhere where it's easy for you to find.
But just one night so we can have our pictures taken with it for all of time.
We ultimately decided not to go that route.
Yeah, good idea.
But it was sweet enough.
The reality of it was good enough for us.
Is that the worst idea that you're glad that you've never pulled the trigger on in your life?
Because you may not be here talking to us.
if you had done that.
Yeah, I think you're right.
I mean, I've always thought, like, I'm just athletic enough that I wouldn't be able to,
like, if there were a military draft, like, I wouldn't get out.
It wouldn't be like, oh, no, flat feet or whatever.
It's like, ah, he's too infirm to, to, you know, to go out there and fight the enemy.
I would be just good enough to pass muster on that, but I'd be the first one they get.
I'd be like that I'd be the first one.
Like, at the end of the war, they'd be like, remember that guy on that?
day one, that loudmouth guy who they took out, like he was the first, like in the first
three minutes of the war. They were like, run, here. Come the guys. Like, I'd be the first one down.
They'd be like, yeah, that loud mouth. I remember him vaguely from the start of the war.
That's who I would be. And that's what would have happened to me with the Stanley Cup.
My friends would have all escaped, but I would have been the one who they caught and I
would have done time. But none of that would have hung on to it. You would have been the one
that would have just hung on to the 40-pound trophy instead of running away like a smart person,
and you'd be trying to schlep this thing down the street under your arm.
Not easy to get away with.
Yeah, exactly.
Just long enough to etch my name into it.
Now what are you going to do?
Now what are you going to do?
Your Pittsburgh Penguins are currently second in the Metropolitan Division
via tie break.
They have the same amount of points as the New York Islanders,
but they have lost two in a row.
And things are looking a little bit down right now for them.
Nobody's going to catch the Carolina hurricanes.
So they're really going to have to hope that they can,
either get the two spots in the metro or a wild card spot.
So I'm looking at the standings, and there is a glaring, and I mean a glaring stat
that I'm seeing here, not a single team has double-digit shootout losses except for the
Pittsburgh Penguins.
What is going on with them?
Roy, we were talking about this previously, and it really is weird and ironic for anybody
who's paid attention to the Pittsburgh Penguins for, you know, for three minutes.
let alone for the last 20 years.
It's bizarre looking at the entirety of what that team has done and how they've done it,
that they are the worst shootout team you've ever seen in your life.
It used to be a decade ago that, oh, we got, we survived three on three or whatever.
Oh, the shootout, well, give us the two points now.
I mean, look at our weapons.
We're obviously going to win pretty much every shootout.
Now it's the opposite.
that they are an atrocity.
And half the time, Artur Shilovs is between the pipes.
And he is like he's never been on skates before when the shootouts starts.
It's really weird to watch how bad he is as a goaltender, specifically in the shootouts.
If they were merely, if they were merely league average, they would be a lock for the playoffs right now.
We would not be talking about, can they survive and what's the math on all this?
The math instead would be that it would be like, who's going to win that division?
Is it the canes or the penguins?
But as it is, the reality is they suck.
Yeah, I mean, those two losses represents two thirds of their overtime losses this year.
Think about that.
Think about that.
I mean, like, do the, I mean, it's pretty simple math.
I don't know it off the top of my head.
But, I mean, just apply five extra points to them, which is about what it would be.
And we're having a very different conversation about who these.
penguins are and whether or not they can make a deep run or otherwise. Now it's in question of whether or not
they'll even get to the postseason. I mean, I'll give them the obvious grace that they don't have
their best player in Crosby. And then Malkin, you know, you can see it coming, suspended rightly.
And you could see he's vexed. You know, he's an emotional guy and always has been. And, you know, he's vexed that he hasn't been extended by the
penguins, and he lashed out for a couple of games in a row after he met with GM Kyle Dubus
to try and negotiate some sort of an extension, and instead they shelved that until after the
season. So now it's real murky for what a guy at 39, what his future is going to be with
the organization or in the NHL at all. And as an emotional guy, he kind of lashed out,
and he swung a stick at Dahlene's head, and now he got shelved for five games. So,
They're behind the eight ball in terms of not having, you know,
two of their better players.
They're malcon still counts as being that.
Yeah, I'd say so.
What I've been assured by experts,
and I turn to you guys as more experts,
people are trying to talk themselves into this, I feel like,
more than this being the case is like,
oh, the pens will make it because the Columbus blue jackets.
These aren't just random fans.
These are experts.
The blue jackets are due.
a cold spell here. They're going to fall off a little bit. They've been way too hot of late.
Do you buy that? This is exactly what the Blue Jackets did last year. They got really hot at the end of the
year. And the Senators are doing the same thing as well. Like the Sends got really hot at the end of
the year last year too. They got into the playoffs. The Blue Jackets just missed out on like the
last day of the season. This might just be their thing. That's a good team. Zach Werenski.
We all know from Team USA now. Great player. Like I like the Blue Jackets Squad, but I don't, I just don't
that they have enough. Like there's some firepower missing with that Blue Jacket squad.
23 regulation wins, by the way for Columbus. That's not going to get it done. No, no.
That's bad, but Roy, as you point out, you know, if it comes down to it with the tiebreakers,
regular season wins, the pens are behind the eight ball there. Yeah, actually, they have 27.
They have 27. That is a fault cry from 23. Detroit has 25. That's okay. But look at every,
I mean, the aisles, the wings. The Islanders have 23 regular regular.
wins. So that's four above them. The wings, they have 25 regulation wins. That's two above them.
So tiebreaker is going to work in the Penguins favor as far as the other three spots in the playoffs.
Just looking at the teams that are fighting for in the division. The Islander's 23. The Blue Jackets is 23.
The Flyers 20. And then you get down to Washington at 28. But Washington's also six points behind Pittsburgh right now with two games. Pittsburgh's out of hand there.
So Capitals, man, that's a spiral out of control. Man, that's been rough.
The East is funny because it's still so wide open.
You could see any of these teams getting in, but also like two out of five of like New Jersey, New York, Pittsburgh, Columbus and maybe even Philly.
Like, Philly's kind of coming on in the last week or so.
Like all of these teams could kind of get in.
And any of these teams are you really like, wow, that's like a playoff quality roster.
Like Ottawa, I would say.
Well, I think that's a great question, Ethan.
I think that's a great question.
I, if we assume, which is assuming too much, but I'm going to do it, like the flyers and caps and Panthers, forgive me, are, they could conceivably play themselves in, but there's enough to look at without even involving them about who is going to sneak in there.
It's fascinating to me that the two conferences, and by the way, as an old man, I refuse to call them.
Oh, to Campbell, the Campbell Conference of Wales.
Why did we do that?
If we can do anything as a group, let's get in Betman's year.
By the way, I have gotten in Betman's ear about this 15 or 20 years ago.
Of course you have.
I don't understand.
Why is it more appealing?
Do you think there were any casual sports fans or casual hockey fans who bought into the NHL
who otherwise wouldn't have?
Because I can't understand.
What is a Patrick division?
Oh, count me out.
Oh, now it's the Atlantic.
Okay.
Now it's the Metro.
Okay, now I get it.
It's such a foolish math.
It was a distinction from every other sport.
It was such a cool thing that the divisions and the conferences were named after luminaries.
The only failing is with, you know, we found out on the Lebitard show this week that 10-day Tony has never heard of dances with wolves.
Not never seen it.
Has never heard of the movie.
I don't know how that's possible.
He wasn't born in that one.
I don't either.
He was born in a way.
So what do I care?
So what?
So what?
References for his whole professional career.
Like,
I wasn't alive when,
I wasn't alive when,
uh,
when Lady Bing was around either.
But I,
I've heard of the Lady Bing.
I wasn't alive when they made gone with the wind,
but you bet your ass I've heard of it.
That's true.
Well,
it was a person too.
The lady,
well, right,
Lady Bing is a person.
And as the actual,
the actual person.
You've heard of the actual person,
uh,
Miss Lady Bing.
I don't know.
I know.
It sounds like a funny.
It's a funny.
I think it's a funny message.
delivered by the hockey gods that or the framers of the NHL,
that they were like, oh, gentlemanly doesn't fight, lady.
Yeah.
I think they're trying to insinuate something about who you are if you're in the
NHL, but you're not getting any penalties.
You're not dropping the gloves ever.
Oh, here you go.
Here's a trophy for you, lady.
I think that's what they're saying.
The trophy was donated to the National Hockey League by Lady Bing of Vimy,
then Vice Regal Consort of Canada.
Have you got the hockey trophies are ridiculous.
They're all too giant to transport around.
Like the NFL MVP is like a tiny little award.
The MLB MVP is like a plaque.
Like these trophies are all so ridiculous.
Wrong.
You're upside down.
Badowski.
It's the up.
You have it exactly the wrong way.
Yes, you want a cool, distinctive looking trophy.
The only two trophies that anybody, that universally may be with the
of 10-day Tony that everybody recognizes are the Stanley Cup and the Heisman
trophy. Why? Because they're cool looking and they have cool names and they're named after
people from from history. The NFL MVP trophy by comparison. It's the most popular
sport in society. Nobody can tell you who won it six years ago. You don't know what it looks
like. It's such a football on top of like a shaft. Is it even still? Yes, the Vince and Lombard.
It's the shield now. No.
The Lombardi, you know.
The Lombardi is kind of cool.
It's the conference trophies that look like the shield, I believe, now.
Which is relatively new.
No, this is the MVP trophy now.
Hold that up there.
You can't even see.
It's like a shield.
It's nothing.
It always is that weird silver circle thing.
Yeah, there are a lot of cool.
The Art Ross isn't the most attractive.
But the point is, we should go back.
Let's meet in the middle here.
Okay.
Okay.
I don't know who Patrick is.
and I don't know who Norris was or Adams.
I don't know who all those long gone people are.
Lester Patrick.
Okay.
What we should do is let's start fresh with the new legends of the game.
I think that there should be.
I know where this is going to.
I mean, oh, God, what?
No, you are not going to name a division out of Cindy Crosby right now while he's still playing.
No, I'm not.
No, that would be the Lemieux. It would be the Lemieux division.
That would be a good division.
It should be the, you know what it should be?
It should be the best player from that division.
So it would be like the Orr division.
Yeah.
The Lemieux division.
Mm-hmm.
The, so the Hawks.
I'm trying to think of who would be the person from that.
It would not be Bobby Hall.
The McKita Division.
The McKita Division.
The Glen Hall Division.
The Duke Grand Division.
Well, let me, there's got to be a good one.
Tony S.
If we're doing Lemieux, if we're doing Lemieux,
and new cellios.
No.
Why would one,
why would that,
what's the,
they were the math on that?
You think they're,
same age.
Same era.
I thought you were going to say same.
No,
no.
No, of course,
nobody's at that caliber as Lemieux.
It's like five guys that are up there.
I'm just saying in terms of like,
you know,
big to his team.
You were trying to name a good black hawks.
I'm trying to name a good black hawk.
The Dennis of Bard.
And then I guess like the,
the Western Conference,
who's the best player,
like you have Edmond,
the Greski division and the King.
So I guess we would call that like the Bernie
Nichols division. Yeah, the Luke Robatai
Division. The Robatai.
Bill Ranford. Good. But that right?
Who wouldn't be down for that?
I guess the rivals wouldn't like it.
I guess Flyers fans would like playing
in the Lemieux Division, but
they'll deal with it. That's what they
get for not winning a Stanley Cup since
1975. One thing I got to ask
Dave about before we go, we were talking about it
before the show, but we're talking about Tony
hadn't heard it Gone with the Wind. Did I hear
correctly that you've never heard a
song sung by Mariah
Mary Carrie? You've never heard during Christmas time all I want.
That's the only one he's got. I did know that one. I mean, he's walked into plenty of CVS.
Well, that's what I'm saying. Like, it's ridiculous to say you've never heard Mariah Carey saying. So, okay, we're good.
Well, there are a lot of ridiculous things. And my wife, who has ridiculous things, too, well, that sounds bad out of context.
Don't let her listen to that. All her things are all right. That's what I mean. But here's a bit.
Kind of things I don't know about are like, I'm fascinated by the men, the celebrities that she finds attractive.
Like I know Brad Pitt is handsome, but she said the other day, like the godfather was on.
The Godfather was on, and she said, Rose, weigh in on this.
She says, the first scene from the Godfather, you know, at the wedding and everything.
And Kay and Michael are sitting at the table having their talk about.
That's my family, Kay.
That's not me.
That's Luca Brossie.
She says, oh, she says, oh, young Al Pacino.
There's nobody better than that.
I was like, what?
What?
Young Al Pacino.
He looks all right.
He's all right.
Pachino.
Is he not handsome in that movie?
Young Dustin Hoffman.
He's got like the nice hair.
I prefer.
Not Dustin, no.
The other guy, not him.
Al Pacino, no.
James Kahn?
No, what's the other?
Marlon Brando?
Marlon Brando?
Robert De Niro.
I even think Robert DeNiro.
So that's Godfather.
He wasn't in the godfather, too.
His godfather too.
Yeah, but we're going to say some more handsomer than, like, when he was young, him.
But Ommino?
Dano does look good.
He looks better as an old guy.
He looks better.
He looks better.
He kind of like aged into being like a tall.
In that time.
Okay.
But around that time?
What about?
What about Jacob?
Lordy.
I haven't seen that.
Who?
I've never seen.
I think I get it, but I feel like he's already been, I feel like, because he's been like,
he's been presented to me.
I don't think I was ever given a choice in it.
He's always been volunteered to me in the movie with what's her name, the Fox from
Margot Robbie.
Yeah, Margot Robbie.
Who, by the way, herself like a year or two ago, remember when that was an online thing?
When that was a social media thing, like, she's mid.
Like, what world are you living in?
Six for five.
With that.
But, yeah, that's what stands out to me, Rose, to answer your question.
Oh, my God.
That man has a strong talk.
Tall drink of water.
What about Jennifer?
Yeah, that water is tall.
That's a tall drink of water.
Before you go, then, who do you think is handsome?
Harrison Ford.
Hans Solo.
Hand solo.
I mean, well, who's better than that?
Dr. Indiana Jones.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
That's good.
That's a man.
Yeah.
That's pretty good.
Yeah, I cannot.
Yeah, I cannot debate there.
Patriot games.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah, that's pretty good.
You know what else's a looker?
Who's that?
Mario Lemieux.
He's a nice looking man.
Well, he is a nice looking man.
Okay, that's about enough for you, Dave.
That's enough.
All right.
Dave, DeVosheke, you can find him on Football America.
He used to host of that show that's expertly produced by the Forentez Brothers,
both Mike and Gino, who happens to be back in a video.
studio.
Hey, Jeano, how you doing?
Gino, thank you
for producing that show and all show.
And Dave, thank you for joining us
showing one of your hockey stories.
Sure thing.
Mariah Carey,
I think that
Christmas song is overrated
and for the record,
my wife, who I was mentioning,
was ashamed when I was like,
these guys were giving me the business.
Like, why would I know Mariah Carey?
She's like, what are you talking about?
And I said, I don't know, Mariah.
You know, I don't like that.
I think that Christmas song.
a little overrated.
And she said, but yeah, what do you talk?
You know Mariah Care.
I'm like, I really don't.
They were playing some songs for me.
And then she didn't believe it.
And she played three or four.
And I was like, I've never heard this song in my life.
And then she played one with ODB.
And I was like, okay, that one I recognize.
Me and Mariah.
Mission Accomplish.
Go back like babies a pacify.
That's like in 10 years saying, I've never heard a Beyonce, though.
Like, Mariah was huge for like over a decade.
Also, you don't know.
Huh?
I know exactly what I'm talking about just off of that.
Yeah, that's the emotion song.
That's emotions.
Yeah.
Emotions.
Yes.
Dave, thank you for not knowing who Mariah Carey is.
Hey, no trouble.
Thank you for the little break.
I'm going to return now to sweating it out to see if the Pittsburgh Penguins can get into the playoffs.
This is going to be a nail biter from now.
The other thing I was going to say, and I'll leave you guys to talk about this, is the two conferences are so interesting that they are all, every team on one side of the bracket, almost a couple teams stand out.
But otherwise, it's just everybody's the exact same level.
And then on the other side, it's like two heavyweight teams and a bunch of direct.
It's fascinating the differences between the two.
And I can't wait to watch these playoffs and see how it all shakes out.
With that said, good night.
We have to build tape out like it's the Oscars.
We're going to play them out.
There's son still out.
Thanks, Tim.
I'd said, thanks, Dave.
I'd say, thanks, Dave.
We love you, Dave.
Thanks again, the Dave Damashik for joining us.
Ethan Sound, let's get to that real quick, please.
21st of the year, four power play goals in this game for the Sabres.
First time in eight years, eight seven with under a minute to go, Bob.
Hockey group chat that I'm a part of on my phone.
And I looked down and there was a text message from one of the guys that said,
Is Sabers Lightning the greatest game in NHL history?
And I said something very interesting must be happening there.
And sure enough, there's Arda.
Johnny on the spot to keep us updated.
Does somebody have gone out on the phone?
Do you know who one of those guys was?
You.
Now we're getting to why we're playing the sound.
Hey, guys.
Oh, it's the hockey chat shout out, dude.
Come on, man.
One of the week.
Yeah, that I'm not a proud of.
What do you think?
We are nothing.
Yes, yes, apparently we are nothing.
Shout out to the men, to the, I'm sorry, was it the United States men's?
Yes, the United States men's Paralympic.
hockey team, the sled hockey team,
won 6-1 today over, I believe,
Chequia, to advance to the gold medal game.
So shout out to them. Shout out to
all the Paralympians out there.
They deserve our support just as
much as the Olympians. Yes.
If not more. Please do not allow
Kasper Tal into your locker room.
Thanks to Gino and Jason in the back.
Thanks to Ethan and Rosie
in that studio.
What a show this was, boys.
What a show. You're welcome. Dave
Rambling. Charge.
That's David Truk. I'm right. Go to be on my own out of here. Goodbye.
