Now is a good time to remember where tequila's story truly began.
In 1795, Cuervo invented tequila.
Quervo.
What are you doing here?
Quervo.
Anytime someone says quarevo, I show up.
Well, I do know that to be true, but even during and reads, like...
Quervo.
I think he could lay out, especially from one of our great partners.
Sweet, delicious quervo.
Since then, Cuervo is stayed true to its roots.
The same family, the same land, the same passion.
Quervo.
So, enjoy the tequila that started it all.
Quervo.
Quervo.
The tequila.
That invented tequila.
Broximo.com.
Please drink responsibly.
Quervo.
When you're flying Emirates business class,
dining on a world-class menu at 40,000 feet,
you'll see that your vacation isn't really over
until your flight is over.
Fly Emirates.
Fly better.
Rose is making me to...
Sorry.
Rose is making you what?
I'm sorry.
I'm sorry.
I'm sorry.
Three, two, one.
Rose is making me say this.
The NHL is in the upside down.
I don't know what that means.
This is the hockey show.
David Droker, the hockey news is to my left.
Rose and Ethan are in there somewhere.
It's like dark.
I don't know.
The lights red.
I don't know what's going on over there.
My name is Roy Gallamy.
This is the hockey show.
We have a new YouTube page.
It's not new anymore.
Follow us at Hockey Show, at the Hockey Show, DLS.
We also have a TikTok, the Hockey Show 7,
and on X Instagram and threads at Hockey Show DLS.
We have some breaking news coming from Winnipeg.
The Jets goaltender, Kana Hella Buck Underwent knee surgery.
He will be out four to six weeks in injuries this season
have been pretty overwhelming.
As you guys know, we covered the Florida.
the Panthers down here.
A little injury issues.
Yeah, a little injury issues.
Now, of course, that's why we talk about the Panthers most often because we covered them.
We go to the game.
So if you have a problem with that, sorry.
Anyway, they have seven players out now?
Let's see.
Barkov, Kachuk, Nosek, Dadavich, Kulik, Kulik, Schwik, Schwint, Shwin, Lusterainen.
I stopped counting.
Is that seven or eight?
I didn't count it.
You said Nosek?
I did.
Yeah.
So, yeah, that's about seven.
That's a lot.
And most of them are out months at the least, right?
Like Gajovic is out three months.
Swin is out two to three months.
No sick we don't know anything about.
Kachuk's return, we're starting to see could be around the corner.
We all know about Barkov.
Kulikov was out five months when he got injured.
These are all long-term injuries.
These aren't week-to-week, except I guess Lusterine
and is literally listed as week-to-week.
But these are long-term injuries for some very important players for the Panthers right now.
Well, I checked on Wednesday, the Maple Leafs Pink.
Penguins, they all have seven players out, just like the Panthers do.
Buffalo, New Jersey, Vancouver, they have six players out.
It's just ridiculous.
It's like things are going on right now in the league that are getting these players
hurt and out for a significant amount of time.
I'm surprised Rose hasn't chimed in with some stranger things reference as to why all
these injuries are occurring.
Only three minutes in.
No, but the thing is, if you've seen these injuries, they haven't been even like at games.
One was in practice, the other one was grilling, the other one was chasing something, the team dinner.
Yeah, the Jack Houston.
I just think, yeah, we are on the upside down.
We're getting there.
So that's the NHEL is in chaos also.
Yeah, let's get into these injuries because loose Ryan and got hurt from burns at a propane tank in front of his barbecue.
I don't know if I've ever seen barbecue accident as a valid injury reason before.
So that's a new one.
This is why I don't use propane.
I use wood.
I have a smoker.
You don't even use charcoal?
I do have a weber.
So I use charcoal.
But I do not use propane at all.
But you smoke your meats.
You don't grill your meats.
Yeah.
Yeah, I can grow on the weber and I can smoke on my Cabellus grow.
So yeah.
That's why I don't use propane because of stupid shit like that.
Before we really dive into the Panthers, can we go back to Helibuck
for a second. This is a four to six week
injury. First of all, did either of you guys
know that he was dealing with anything? Like, this caught
me completely off guard this morning.
And then also,
four to six weeks, it's November 21st.
He is the presumptive starting
goaltender for the United States at this
year's, at this upcoming
Milan Olympics starts
February 6, 2026.
Six weeks, guys. It's getting really
close to that date. So,
it's not coming back in six weeks. He's going to
try to get back here.
Yeah, I would think that this is something that they're keeping in mind, that he's very cognizant about keeping that in mind.
And he's having a pretty good season.
Like, the record is whatever, 8 and 6, but two and a half goals against 9-13, save percent.
I mean, he's Connor Hellebuck.
Yeah.
And it's the regular season, so you know he's going to perform well.
So, uh, loose running with his burn injuries, he joins Jack Hughes on the.
On the weird injury list?
On the weird injury front.
Weird injury.
Jack Hughes that occurred while preparing or eating food.
Yeah.
From what I heard, he slipped and fell, and I guess his hand landed on a wine glass is what I heard.
That's Hughes.
That's Hughes, not Lus Ryan.
Yeah, I said that.
That's Jack Hughes.
I already said that Lusarana got injured in a barbecue grill accident with his propane tank.
So, yeah, Hughes cut his hand, and he's going to be out a significant amount of the time.
Eight weeks.
Lusterion is going to show up looking like gold member.
the unfortunate
barbecuing accident
well the other thing is
Maurice said he's going to be out a few weeks
and then they're going to have to try and get the pads
back on him and see if he's comfortable
enough with the pads on to play like they tie
into each other like it's just a matter of because
it's not like he can't move his body or
it's a strength thing it's just a matter of his skin
being comfortable wearing anything
let alone hockey deer
so it's just going to be a healing thing
bandages on top of what most
likely will be a shirt
which would end up having his pads
over and then the jersey so yeah that's a lot of layers right there and those burns are going
have to protect from what i heard i think it was lower body oh jesus christ that's even oh no oh no
hopefully lower lower lower yeah i was going to say yeah no i think it's lower lower i don't
like a like a big toe let's just calm down let's everybody take a breath let's just relax
let's not put that out into the world that's not that's not good um jim parsons of the hockey news
wrote about some odd injuries over the course of the last, I would say, 30, 40 years.
And here's a couple of them.
Joe Sackett, if you remember, broke three fingers and had tendon damage trying to fix a snowblower.
See, I've got nothing for that at all.
Brent Soaple hurt his neck picking up a cracker.
What?
Yes.
That happened.
That's like Howard Bryant tearing both his hamström.
getting out of bed.
Yeah, just about, yeah, somewhat similar to that.
Dustin Pinter had back spasms after leaning forward to eat pancakes.
See, the last two ring true in terms of a getting older
and random things going wrong for everyday activities.
Like, that all kind of sounds a bit familiar.
And this one is really, really weird here.
Glenn Healy cut through his hand with a knife and
a pair of scissors, respectively
trying to fix a set
of bagpipes from the First World War.
Wow. That is a hell of a mouthful.
Yeah. So he cut himself not once but twice
while trying to fix bagpipes.
Yeah. He might be the only person outside of Scotland
to ever do that. Yeah, I am not making that up. You can find the article. Jim
Parsons wrote about that. That's spectacular. And of course it was a goalie.
Yeah, of course. I mean, because you guys are weird.
Glennie.
Glennie. Gollies are weird.
Yeah. I mean,
We heard on the big show, who is it, it was Cooley for the Flames on how in his mind he accepts, what, was it losing?
Yeah, he accepts losing.
And the Flames are dead last.
They're bad.
They stink.
And it's not even because of the goal to me.
It's because they can't score the second worst in the league and goals four.
Yeah, what was it that he's like, nothing matters.
We're all going to die.
The funny thing about the Flames is they're sixth in the league right behind the Panthers,
an expected goals percentage.
How?
They just don't score.
They're good defensively.
They're sound defensively,
and Dustin Wolf while struggling
not as good this year as last year,
like, it's just crazy.
What a weird team.
There's only one team in the lead
that has scored less goals
than the Calgary Flames.
Can you guess which one it is?
I think I know.
Noah Philip.
Okay.
It's not here at the ice player.
It's not, no.
Is it the Rangers?
It is not the Rangers.
It is a Western Conference team.
The Oilers.
It is not the Oilers.
It's not the Oilers, Bro.
The Oilers have actually scored a lot of goals this year.
They've given up way more, but they've actually stored a lot of goals this year.
No, the answer to the question is the Nashville Predators.
They've stored two less goals in two less games than the Calgary Flames.
I want to get into this Noel or Philip situation because what we're doing lately is we are taking packs of cards, packs of up-a-deck cards.
Yes, I have a box in my bag out in the bullpen, actually.
Yeah, you do.
And we're opening them up.
It's a pack of four cards.
were taking at least one of those cards and one of those players, depending on how they
do during the week, there's a point system.
Whoever has the most points out of me, Rosie, and David end up being the winner for that
week and a collective over the season.
So right now, Rosie, back-to-back weeks of being dead last, currently with Noah Phillips,
who is a rookie for the Emmett to Norseberg.
And Philippe Forrestburg last week has brought out the rear.
That's because Rose built into her game, the ability for us to choose each other's cards if we'd spin and get a certain spot.
So Rose kind of stubbed herself in the toe.
I just think Roy's one lucky guy.
Yeah, Roy's gotten very fortunate.
He's 17 points and I just have three.
Stubbed herself in the toe.
Yeah, that was...
That's a new one.
Yeah.
I forgot who I had last week.
Last week you had friggin Nietzsche.
Oh, that's a good guy to have right now.
And now he has, he could have or Macon Celebrini or.
Or another good guy.
Timmy Penneran.
Because there was a specialty card.
Because a jersey card.
God.
How good are the Colorado Avalanche?
I was watching them last night.
They're amazing to watch.
Just play beautiful hockey.
Yeah.
Macklin Celebrini.
The hat trick.
The night after I picked him, I was like, oh, no.
But automatic six points for the card that I picked, which was Panarin.
And Rosie is not happy.
Sorry, Rosie.
No, I'm not. Bye.
I love how, as you were breaking down the game, I looked over at Rose, and she was, like, the expression on her face was like, don't bleep this up, Roy.
This is my baby.
You're sending it out to the, like, she, the look on her face was, I've never seen her, like, so, like, laser-focused on you before.
She created the game.
No, you know why I'm laser-focused?
Because he's so lucky.
He's like, I don't want to play.
Because I don't want to play up.
That's the thing.
When you don't want to play and you don't take seriously, the game.
everything goes well
that's why I am great at other games
at Katana and all of that because I don't care
but this one I do care
so it's just
Maybe you care too much
You got to send in your redemption card by the way
Don't forget to do that
Oh I already did you already sent it I love it
You already sent it in yeah but it's a savers
So but who cares
Yeah let's send you back a card
It'll be fine don't worry
Who's Buffalo's big rookie this year
They have nobody
No one no one
I want to talk about the
I want to talk about New York Rangers
Captain J.T. Miller and what he did the night before.
Again, he's their captain, right?
He's also the guy who divided the Canucks locker room with his beef with Elias Pedersen,
the Ford, which led him to be traded back to the Rangers in the first place.
Now, look at his play here.
He turned the puck over, kind of gave up on the play, and then just skated away.
That led to a goal for the, go to night.
They want up to two nothing.
They want three to two.
That's really bad.
I mean, we're looking at this through Panthers colored lenses.
Like, we've been watching Paul Maurice build the Florida Panthers into a team that nobody would even think about doing something like that.
So to see somebody of his caliber give up on a play like that and immediately leading to a goal.
Like, that's disturbing.
Yeah, he's one of those loud, fiery, well, talk at you type of leaders.
He's not one of those leaders by example.
Clearly.
Players like Alexander Barcloth.
is, but I mean, that's the type of play that Mike Sullivan really should sit him down and
read on the riot act.
I was listening to what chaos the other day, and they had Johnny Lazz on the show, and he
was basically saying that J.T. Miller is the kind of guy, or there was a quote that came out
that J.T. Miller is the kind of guy that when things are going really good, he makes everything
go that little bit better. And when things are going really bad, he kind of drags everything
down and makes things go a lot worse. So it's kind of an interesting choice as captain.
even though he is that fiery guy
and they kind of need that fiery guy
in the New York locker room I think
and there are signs
like he was one of the guys that fought
at the Four Nations right with the Kachuk brothers
he was the third guy that fought
so you can see that he elevates
he rises to that occasion and brings that kind of energy
but then you see that kind of effort there
and to have that out of your captain
that's just unacceptable and especially in a season
where the Rangers are struggling and all the things
that have been surrounding them for the last two or three years or so
That's a strip-to-sea situation, man.
Oh, that's bad.
You got Trocheck on this scene, too, so he can easily be a captain.
Meet his advantage at Artemie Panarin.
There are options.
Adam Fox, he's a great guy.
Yeah, he is.
But no, like, to Ethan's point, you shouldn't be asking these questions of the guy wearing the seat.
Like, I don't know if we've ever had a conversation like this about a captain.
So that is jarring me.
Like, that in and of itself is a little weird.
It's just, it sucks for the Rangers because we all talked about the Rangers as a
team we thought they were going to kind of step back into relevancy this year after a down year.
So, yeah, rough start, man.
That's weird year for them.
Like, they're playing well.
Their underlying numbers are great, but they just can't get any goals.
And right now, I didn't think this was the case, but it is.
They're in last place in the Metropolitan Division.
Now, we all know the East is very scrunched up right now, and that doesn't really mean a lot.
They're only like a point or two out of a playoff spot.
But, man, it's been a weird year.
The vibes have been weird there for two years now, and it's continuing.
this year. Let's talk about game etiquette for fans here. As you know, again, David and I are in
the press box. I love that you put this in the show. I love this. Yeah. Whatever home games for
the Panthers. And for the past, I would say, three seasons, as you just heard, there's a fan
in a section to, I would believe, the right of the press box who is whistling. It's just about
that annoying. No, it's worse than that. No, it actually is worse than that because it's louder than
what she's doing.
And there's no, like, there's no organization to the whistling.
This guy just randomly interjects his whistles at random times in the game.
And I probably wouldn't notice as much if you didn't loathe it so much.
I swear to goodness.
Like, I'm in the press box.
I'm sitting next to you.
And I just want to scream, shut the fuck up.
Yeah.
And that would get me kicked out.
And that would get me kicked out of the press box most likely.
but, yeah, I really want to say that to this guy.
That is just poor form.
Now, I hope this guy is not listening.
I hope this guy is listening.
No, because we're going to get it way worse on Saturday.
No, I hope this guy is listening.
I hope he is listening.
This is just bad behavior.
So, yes.
So Ethan says that's bad behavior.
What about you and Rosie?
This is this bad behavior for a fan?
I think I'm kind of wishy-washy on it because, like, on one hand, I think, like,
going to a game and cheering and whistling and, you know, that kind of thing is part of it.
On the other hand, if I was sitting in that man's section as a season,
and sickle holder, I'd want to, like, blow my brains out.
So it's incredibly annoying hearing it from a few sections away.
I can't imagine sitting on top of it.
So, yeah, I don't know, man.
You're not going to like my answer, but the man paying for his tickets.
He's cheering.
That's the way he's cheering.
Let him cheer.
That's kind of where it's loud.
And everybody's loud.
That might be your point, but that's disturbing the fans and disturbing the press.
I do love Roy using our show to air his grievances.
Just be like, you suck.
Your behavior sucks.
I hope you're listening.
I think that's a great.
This is a great forum for that.
Let's not talk Puck.
Let's talk about fans behaving poorly.
Let's know.
Let's talk about fans behaving poorly while watching Puck.
How about that?
How about that, sir?
Fans need to be watching out because if they're not on their best behavior at a Panther game, they're going to hear about it.
Yeah.
So, yeah, I'm not happy with this guy, and I believe he needs to stop.
Please.
We'll see.
Stop.
We'll see what happens tomorrow.
It's time for Puck Luck.
It's sponsored by Draft Kings.
The Crown is yours.
Dave.
What is Paul?
this week. All right. Tonight we are going to Buffalo first for the Blackhawks in Buffalo. First,
we're going to take the Blackhawks on the money line because we're getting great value. Chicago will
be playing a second end of a back-to-back. However, it's the first time all season that they've
played a back-to-back. Chicago is also above 500 road team, and they've won three straight on the
road, and Buffalo is Buffalo. The only time they win is when we bet against them, and we're going
to end that street today. Also in that game, we're taking Connor Bedard over three and a half
shots on goal. He's hit this number.
in seven of nine games, and Buffalo allows the most shots on goal in the NHL.
And we're going to wrap up our parley with Adrian Kempe in Los Angeles.
He's hit his over three and a half shots total, six games in a row,
and Boston allows the ninth most shots on goal in the league.
And this parlay, this three-led little parlay, will give you odds of 1039.
We're going to make some good money tonight, Roy.
All right.
It's time for the start of the week.
Ooh.
The hockey.
Hey guys
I was just talking to you
I know but hey
it's time for the hockey stat of the week guys
somebody we need to be talking about more
Dave you're going to love this
Yaroslav Ascarov out in San Jose
he had a very rough month of October
really really rough but he has turned it on
in November so far guys guys guys
guys guys I don't know what that was
he's got a 952
safe percentage in November
he's got a one
153 goals allowed average in November.
What was the same percentage again in November?
9.52.
That's a lot.
He's 11th in the NHL now with 7.6 goals saved above expected.
He's got 10.5 of those in his last 10 games, which is fourth in the NHL over that span.
He's done all of this without pitching a single shutout.
He's not allowed more than three goals in the month of November, and that occurred last
night in the Sharks 4-3 win over the Los Angeles Kings.
The guy's been phenomenal.
a lot of people have been saying he is the next big thing
in goaltending in the NHL and he is turning it on in November
and proving that. I love the young goalie movement we're getting this year
between Ascarov, Spencer Knight, Walsett, in Minnesota's playing spectacular.
The young goalies are stepping up, Roy.
Yeah. All right, it's time for Rosa in Un Minuto.
Hit it, Rosie.
Let's hit this.
Yeah, let's hit that.
Go ahead. Go and hit it.
Hit that.
Okay, everybody.
So...

and then the room started changing.
Yes.
All right, that was Rosa Enum Minuto.
Thank you, Rosie.
And now it is time for Rose in a minute.

And the upside down starts opening doors in absolutely everywhere.
Season three, the Russians build a secret base in the mall.
Why is it always a mall?
I don't understand.
But the mall explodes and we cry over Hopper.
But he did not die.
He was in Severea.
Season four, Begna arrives, the most traumatized villain on Earth.
Max almost dies.
Eddie does die.
And the upside down invades Hawkins, like the hell level terminates.
And now, after years, we're getting the final season.
And I want to watch it, but I'm not ready if they kill Steve.
So don't kill Steve.
Duffer Brothers, or I'll go kill you.
Ambrose.
It was one minute for your things.
See you in the upside down case.
All right.
I haven't seen a single episode of this show.
You should have been paying attention.
I was paying attention to what?
I don't understand what she's saying.
It's time for wins and fails of the week.
It's sent it by Yeager Meijer Meijs to serve it or don't serve it at all.
Yager Meijer says, damn, that's cold.
For more, visit yagermaster.com. Drink responsibly. David, what you win?
My win, we're going junior hockey this week. We're doing one of the British Columbia
Hockey League, the Spruce Grove Saints. They have a mascot named Chuckie the Angel.
And his new bit this season is, if there's an opposing player in the penalty box during the TV timeout,
he skates out onto the ice, stands right outside the door, and stares them the hell down.
Oh, wow. Shame.
He's done it a few times this season. He did.
It did it the other night when they beat the Vernon Vipers 5 to 4 in overtime.
And look at him.
He looks like an emoji from the back with a little halo over him.
He's not the wings.
I almost want to take a penalty just to experience this.
I don't know.
I love it.
I love it.
I think it's one of the coolest things the mascot could do.
Well, take a safe penalty.
Delay a game.
Flip it over glass of your divest.
No, I'm taking someone out.
Oh, wow.
Okay.
Two minutes for severe interference.
My winner the week are the Winter Classic uniforms.
The Rangers and Panthers have unveiled their new, the new,
Unis for the Winter Classic, the Rangers are going with a road version of the Centennial uniforms.
White jersey that says New York on a diagonal red pants, blue and red stripes on the sleeves, bottom of the jersey, and the socks, the Florida Panthers, have brought back an updated version of the Leaping Panther.
It's not like the current alternate that they have in the locker room, as you've seen, obviously, it's more of an updated version of the old one.
Gold pants, gold gloves, gold stripes on the sleeves.
and socks, both teams would have special patches, and I think the Panthers should have gone
with the alternate version of the Leap and Panther in the locker room, but...
They said they wanted to make it look like it was made in the, like, the 20s, 30s.
Like, the whole uniform is like a throwback to the area.
Oh, yeah, that's right, yeah, because they do have a patch, they have a sun patch.
Yeah.
From, what was it, the Tropical Hockey League back in the 30s?
Yeah, the South Beach somethings, it's pretty cool, like how they're, like, tapping into hockey
that we didn't even know existed 100, literally 100 years ago.
I think that...
the coach's jacket.
I think the reimagining is really cool.
Like, I, yeah, it would have been cool to just go with the original Leaping Panther logo and
for nostalgia and everything.
But the reimagining and kind of trying to make it, what would this look like if the
Panthers were a team in the 1920s, I think is really cool?
I think if the Panthers go and have a stadium series game in February because they can't have
it in January because of college football, then they should do something similar to that.
Can I say something?
I don't know if it's unpopular or popular, but I like the Rangers one better.
Yeah, the Rangers ones are really nice.
It's clean.
It's very clean.
Yeah, we look like bees, the Panthers.
We look like bees?
Yeah, the socks in the Panthers ones, they look like bees.
Yeah.
The only thing I don't like is the tan pants.
They feel very Boca Raton, elderly.
It's gold.
No, they're supposed to be leather.
Yes, gold letter.
And that's the color.
But yes, I mean, that's Panthers.
I like them.
Yeah, Ethan.
My one of the week comes from last night's game between the Florida Panthers and the New Jersey Devils.
It was the only goal scored in last night's game, and it was an absolute
beauty from our guy Sam Ryan Hart.
Look how he goes near post here.
This kind of reminded me of his goal in game six of the Stanley Cup final last year
where he went around Evan Bouchard.
He was so good last night, ran the game every time he was on the ice,
in complete control on every shift.
And this goal is just beautiful up over the near shoulder of Jake Allen.
Absolute gorgeous.
Put that one in the highlight reel.
Rhino is having a great year.
Probably the best player.
Keep in mind that move that led to that under the stick,
the defenseman.
Get back possession was able to go bar down
on Jake Allen.
Rosie, what should win?
Rosie's chirping me.
You guys don't even hear it.
She's chirping me because I hear it.
I'm looking right at you mouthing to her.
I should have had Sam Reinhart for our card game this week for Rip the Ice and you guys
robbed me of it.
I would have had a game winning goal there.
A goal.
And I didn't even think about it.
Rose is in my ear like, you know you would have had Sam Reinhart game winning goal.
Unbelievable.
I'm going to want you to guys to guess.
What my win is.
Stranger things.
Yeah, there we go.
Put it up at there.
Strange Things is coming in September 26.
Rose is Tynevar 11.
I'll give her that.
Yeah, thank you very much.
I mean, you know, you talked about it on your minute.
Twice, mind you.
That's why I was like, I'm going to give you a quiz that it's easy.
Okay.
There we go.
Is there a Stranger Things what the puck this week?
Please tell me no.
Yes.
Of course it is.
God, damn it.
All right, Dave, what's your fail?
My fail is, we're going to Buffalo.
Rob Ray, Sabres color commentator.
The Sabres hosted the Edmonton Oilers this week and beat them down, stored five goals on Edmonton.
And when the Oilers pulled Stewart's dinner for an extra attacker in hopes of trying to come back in this game, Rob Ray made a nice little comment that I think we all kind of snickered at.
Entity net. Sorry, Rob. Go ahead.
Yeah, empty net for Edmonton.
Yeah, it has been most of the night, so it's a difference.
But Ellis has been fantastic
Ouch baby
Ouch
Rob Ray
He's kind of got a point
Pulling no punches
Yeah for sure
It's just to hear it
You know
Kind of blast it out like that
And of all the teams
To be talking shit about anybody else
The Sabres
Yeah
But you know
And who's going to trip back at them
An empty net
My winner
The week is within the last 11 games
I'm sorry
My fellow the week
Within the last 11 games
For the Blackhawks
Connor Bardard has scored two hat tricks.
Jesus.
Keep in mind, those are the only two hat tricks of his career.
Badaar scored his second career hat trick on Tuesday to fail.
In this situation, then come from the flames.
He came from this Blackhawks fan who took his phone out to film himself,
throw his cap on the ice.
And all he was able to do was throw the cap and completely miss everything.
He ended up hitting the glass.
Nice.
Yeah, that was a week throw.
He was standing like the fourth row.
How do you miss the ice?
Yeah.
I mean, it wouldn't be as, yeah, exactly, from the fifth row.
That's, that's bad.
And it wouldn't be as bad as if he didn't have the phone out.
Well, that's the thing.
He's documenting his fail for everybody to see.
Yeah, and so did local TV because that was on the Black Arts broadcast.
Got to be careful.
Ethan, what's your fail?
You know who else documented their fail this week was Bill Simmons?
He went on his show this week and claimed that the Columbus Blue Jackets are, quote,
the most irrelevant franchise in professional sports.
Now, listen, you might have an argument.
But the problem I have here in the fail of the week is he said, quote,
I have never had a conversation in my life about the Columbus Blue Jackets.
My brother.
So why are you starting one?
My brother, you've never sat down and talked with your buddies about Zach Worensky?
I feel terrible for you.
That must be a miserable existence.
Well, hold on, hold on, because I heard what he said.
All I do is talk about Zach Worensky with the fellas.
I heard what he said.
He got half of his information wrong.
He did.
He did.
They had been past the second, past the first round of the playoffs before.
He said something about losing to the Panthers in 2019.
They lost to the lightning in 2019.
He had a lot of it wrong.
He might have an argument again, but again, Bill, look at me.
You've never talked about Zach Worensky with your boys before?
Sit down with your boys and talk about Zach Werenski.
It's a great experience.
He's a great player.
You should talk about him more.
We should all talk about Zach Werenck.
He's going to be a huge part of Team USA coming up in Milan.
Because he used AI.
You're probably right about that.
Rosie, what is your fail?
I'm sorry, but I'm going to remember.
Pied this is Noah Philip. Thank you.
Okay. Nice.
If you are watching on Draft King's Network coming up next,
we have Adnan Verk from Prime Canada's Monday Night Hockey.
We are going to talk about movies.
And strange your things.
And apparently stranger things.
I don't know if he's ever watched it so on.
I don't think he likes stranger things.
I think we've asked him about this before.
He doesn't like it.
Oh, that's right.
Well, Rose is in for a disappointment.
You can watch that on YouTube and listen to the audio podcast.
Ann Annan Verk is coming up next.
Folks, the leaves are turning.
The weather's getting a little chillier.
That means a football games are more important.
That means football time.
Should be Miller time.
Game day hits different with a Miller light in your hand.
From jaw-dropping touchdowns, the fantasy heartbreaks,
my fantasy season's over already.
But you know what makes that better?
Miller time.
It's the beer that's been there for every moment.
50 years of great taste, simple ingredients,
and then iconic golden color you can spot from across the room.
And here's the kicker, it's just 96 calories, 3.2 carbs per 12 ounces,
the original light beer since 1975, and still hitting different five decades later.
So whatever your game day looks like, remember Miller Time is always a good time.
Miller Light, great taste, 96 calories.
Go to Miller Lite.com slash Dan to find delivery options near you.
Or you can pick up Miller Light pretty much anywhere they sell beer.
It's Miller Time.
Celebrate responsibly.
Miller Brewing Company, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, 96 calories,
and 3.2 carbs per 12 ounces.
It's time for a monthly check-in with Adnan.
Verki is the studio host for Prime Monday Night Hockey.
Adnan, where were you this week?
And where are you going next week?
Roy, great to always see you and David and Ethan and Rose, of course.
I was in Columbus, which I'd never been before.
And it's always struck me as odd.
Cleveland, which is a great sports city,
not the best of you all, but a great sports city,
has every major protein that is not.
of hockey. The hockey team in Ohio,
we're like, man, we'll get that in Columbus.
So, first time ever in Columbus, to be
honest, I worked my travel schedule on my beloved
Philadelphia Eagles, so a 5 o'clock fight to Columbus
Sunday, had to watch Eagles' lines Sunday football.
We win in a very boring game, great defensive
battle. Next morning, morning skate,
talk to Marty San Luis, Habs were in town.
I thought I'd have explored Columbus a little bit.
I've got to be honest, fellas, I think if I was there
from an Ohio State game in like,
you know, late September or something, it's
better. I just kind of wandered around and it's like,
oh, it's such a great city. I really didn't see much
of Columbus to earn money.
It kind of just felt like Ohio.
I would still run ahead of Cincinnati
for being honest.
But as far as the game,
the canon was awesome.
And for years,
I'd not know.
They said,
why are they called the Blue Jackets?
And for those who don't know,
because I didn't know,
it's after the fact that was the name
of the jackets
that were in the Civil War,
exactly.
So that's why they're called Blue Jackets.
And the Canon is unbelievable.
I went to go see the Canon,
and everyone kept warning me this.
It's a lot louder than you think.
And I asked the guy,
said, let's be honest.
Why is it so loud?
Like between us?
And he was like, well, there's a firework inside.
And he goes, we pump in some noise.
Okay, exactly.
Oh, really?
Breaking news on the Huggie show.
Breaking news.
There is a firework inside the cannon,
but they also have noise being pumped up.
So that was the game adding in that the Canadians goalie,
Jacob Dobish, he scared the bleep out of him
when the cannon went off before the game, right?
Yeah, you nailed it.
Because that's the big thing, David.
I was like, well, I just hope they score a lot of goals.
You'll, don't worry.
You'll get it in the warm up,
and it will jolt players in it.
That's exactly what happened.
She said, holy crap.
If you're not ready for it, it is loud.
There's no question about it.
A great game.
Habs are down 3-1, tied it up, and then lost it in the shootout.
Murchenko in his shoot-up, by the way, it's unbelievable.
Jody Schilley's like, watch this guy because he is so borderline arrogant in the shootout.
It's amazing.
And, of course, he scored on Dobish.
But fun game, good atmosphere.
I just feel overall, fellas, if I said to you a hockey franchise, it feels relatively irrelevant,
and I believe Bill Simmons was going on this rant the other day,
the Blue Jackets in 25 years of history have one playoff series.
That's almost tough to comprehend.
He would have thought at one point you could have got to conference finals.
No, one playoff series victory in 25 years.
Is Bob against the Lightning a few years ago?
That was what got him the big contract in Florida.
Yeah, what Bill Simmons thought was the Florida Panthers.
Oh, God.
Side note, what the hell happened in Montreal?
They've lost eight of nine?
All they do is play overtime games,
and now they're just losing those overtime games instead of winning them.
And Marty's one of my favorites.
I asked Martina-Saint-Louis about it,
because in the previous game, they had two five-on-threes and didn't score.
And I said to Marty, what are you going to do next to him?
He's like, pull the goalie.
They've given up five, seven, and eight goals in three of their last five games.
And they're all losses.
Yeah.
Montembo not good.
Domit was not good.
And collectively defensive, they are not good.
But even Marty said to us, he was honestly, you just got to get one point at a time.
Like I saw him after the game and he was in a relatively good mood because they're like,
they were down three one, scored twice.
At least they got a point.
That's the way hockey is now, right?
Fellas, because I'm about the win.
Let me just try to get a point.
The regulation is not talking about the loser.
point.
That's overtime pie.
Exactly.
The loser point.
Where are you going
next week,
At nan?
Off to L.A.,
Roy,
one of my favorite
cities of course.
It's a love
Los Angeles.
Go check out
75 and sunny
in the beach.
And I've never
seen a hockey game
at Staples.
I've been to see
a couple of Lakers
games before,
but staying
the J.W.
Marriott right there
next to the
arena.
It's a gorgeous
hotel.
When I used to do
sports in L.A.
with the great
Neil Everett or
Stan Verret
they would put us
up in that hotel.
So I can't wait
me off to Staples.
Although, Roy, I did not realize the Kings don't practice at stable.
No, they're in El Cigundo.
Right, David, that's annoying.
So, so Monday morning, we're going to have to.
How far else are going to that?
It's like 20, 25 minutes.
The last time I was out there, I actually stayed at a hotel next to the practice rink.
Okay.
So, yeah, the commute downtown wasn't that great.
But it's only like 20, 25 minutes.
Not that bad.
Okay.
So we'll get out there and see Jim Hiller in the morning.
And it's a cool practice ring, too.
It's like multi-levels.
It's, you know, do a little exploring.
Okay.
I look forward to it.
The Kings, by the way, as you guys know, last year,
were unbelievable at home. This year, they played the fewest home games, and they've been terrible.
One, four, and two, on homeites. They're almost as bad as the Rangers on Homeites.
So we'll see what happens to the Ottawaisters are in town on Monday.
We mentioned the one of classic uniforms with the Rangers and the Panthers.
I believe, personally, it's a seven out of ten for each of them, respectively.
What say you're at, then?
You know, I think around seven, probably sounds about fair.
Like, I think most times people either have really a jarring reaction that's a true love or I hate it,
but I just think it's decent.
You know, I think in today's world,
I'm the old guy who just likes, you know,
the classic Black Hawk's jersey,
or the Red Wings Jersey.
There's a third jersey,
alternate this and that.
But Winter Classic,
I get it's going to be different.
I think the fact it's not too flashy,
not too overdone.
I think it's Jason.
I'm with you.
I give it a seven.
There's an update on the jersey front,
by the way,
you brought up the Black Hawks.
They are bringing back the black jerseys that they're had in the mid-90s.
These are good.
The Eric Dazes.
Yeah, the Eric Dazes.
The Gary Suitoris.
That is great pull by David.
Eric Dazet.
That was Dazet, Alpherson, and Jovenosti.
That was the rookies in 96.
Yeah.
The Tonya Monti's.
Yes.
The Bellfo's.
Jeremy Rodick, keep going.
Great Blackhawks the fast.
Clever Trassov.
Blackhooks, by the way, good start.
How about Connor Bedoub?
I love watching them.
I love watching them, Adnan.
I watched them the other night.
I was, like, dialed into their game against,
I think they were playing Calgary and like Calgary in Chicago, whatever.
But, oh, my God.
They're fun to watch, man.
Especially that Baddard.
He's amazing.
So yeah, interesting what happened.
Badard had a great rookie season.
Sorry to cut you off, David.
No, you're good.
Last year he regressed.
We went and did a game of Chicago, and there was whispers around like,
is Badaar really the real deal?
Like, was it too much too soon?
And this year he's come like a house on fire.
Like between him and Celebrini,
like we always talk about how the game is in good hands with great young players
and how many years has it been Crosby and Ovechkin
who are still going and still performing.
But now, like, you can make a case.
Like Macklin, Salarney, Connor Bader, two great young guns.
Celebrating is on pace for like 130 points this year.
And Bader could score 50.
It's crazy.
Man, it's fun.
We're just talking about the youth movement among goaltenders,
and it's kind of all across the board.
It's pretty cool, Adnan.
Now, you're going to hate me for this question as a Canadian man, I imagine.
But right now, there's only one Canadian team in a playoff spot.
And I know the standings are really tightly packed and everything,
but major disappointments, I would think,
between Vancouver, Edmont, obviously, Calgary,
Montreal, we just talked about.
They've kind of fallen off the side of a cliff lately.
Which Canadian team, when all is said and done,
is going to give your nation?
It's best chance at a Stanley Cup this year.
but certainly not Calgo
let's go through each one they've been terrible
I love Ryan Huska he's a great guy
last year they were like that classic team with not much
offensive punch aside from Nassam Khadry
Dustin Wolf
yeah and Wolf is the guy who carried them right
as a rookie it's like oh he's in the caller
conversation and this year it's like well
even Dustin Wolf can't help this team they're awful
tank for McKenna away we go
the oilers they still think are the answer
honestly David because they have that collective
town they're off to a slow start you're absolutely right
they're way too reliant on those two guys
I do think getting Hyman back is big
a couple years ago he scored 54 goals, so clearly he's going to help with their secondary
scoring. Pickard played great last night, deserved a better result. They just weren't able to
get any goals scoring, quite frankly, and lost 2-1.
Vancouver is a weird team. I think they're a bit of a mismatch. It feels like they
got a dark cloud hanging over them, which isn't just the rain in Vancouver. I don't like
them that much. And the leaves right now are a fascinating story, because as you said,
the East is very tightly bunched up. They're like two points in the last place in the
east, but there are four points of a playoff spot, but they have not been good. Like when
your general manager and President Bradford for Living's coming out and giving a press
conference in November just addressing
the state of the team. They've been
really disappointing. Now, Stoll Arts has been out.
Matthew's been out. I get it. You shouldn't
still be a 500 team with the leaves collection of talent.
Nealander's wonderful, but they really do miss
Mitch Marger. And it's more of a Craig
Bruby team. In fact, they're heavy on the puck and slower,
but they're certainly not better, and there's a lot of
concern right now in Toronto for a good reason.
Just to close a loop on the youth movement in the
NHL right now, if you look at the point
leaders in the NHL, number three,
Macklin-Sellebrini, number four,
Connor Bardard, and number five,
Carlson, who was the second pick behind
Connor Bardard in the
2023 NHL draft. These guys are here
and they're all really good. Adnan, I want to ask you about
I saw a clip, I think it was a couple weeks ago.
I wish I had it, but I don't. Where
Biz's friend Oldie
crashed the
Monday night hockey. What was that
experience like? Because he is an interesting
fella. So here's what happens
Ethan. When you go on these different shows
to meet different people, sometimes you need
a scouting report. And so with regards
to Biz, like I've seen him on TNT and I know
was working. I'm a huge fan of his, but I am not, forgive me, an avid listener of the
Spit and Chickens podcast. I know that they're irreverence and outspoken and all the rest of it.
So when we got to the arena, I just saw olding these guys. And again, I don't know them.
I'm making it sound like I know them now, but I'm being totally honest. I'm like, I just knew
that there are buddies of biz. I could just tell the mustache, the truck or how to my car, you guys
are clearly with biz. But I don't know the deal. So when the show is going on,
it's like, if you didn't know the Levertart Show, you had no idea about Greg Coding the Hardout.
Like, if you don't get the show, you wouldn't know it. So I'm just like, God, these are,
They're buddies of Biz.
I'm assuming they're part of the pocket.
I don't know what's going on.
At the end of the show,
what Ethan's referring to,
Biz is firing up the crowd.
When we get to see you next.
He goes,
oh, they get out here.
Do what you'd always do.
And I'm like, oh, this guy's a part of the show now.
And he gets out there and does the splits.
He also appears to have some packaging below the waist.
And at one point, Biz, like, tried to hand a microphone to interview his crotch.
So this is clearly when things have gone awry.
And afterwards, people are telling me, oh, oldie's so great.
And I'm talking to this old days.
If I know, I'm like, hey, good to see you, buddy.
All the best.
Hey, great job.
I was like, no, he's known for doing the splits.
Even more, Ethan, this past weekend Columbus, we interviewed Rick Nash.
And the first day I said to Rick Nash, apparently, he's known oldies since they were kids.
So I apologize.
I should have known this guy's a big deal.
He's a big deal now.
He's doing the splits and he's a boyhead friends of Rick Nash, old he doing the splits.
Got to love it.
Apparently, Nash used to, like, bring him into the locker room to fire up the guys.
And he would, like, do dances before the games and stuff.
Like, he is an NHL legend, apparently.
Yeah, doesn't take himself too seriously, really a fun guy.
I look forward to seeing him the next time.
we have biz with us. What did you think
of the Miko Renton and hit on
Alexander Romanoff and Patrick
Waugh's reaction to it? I loved
Waugh's reaction. I mean, he's so fiery,
right. I love the fact he was passionate about it.
I understood his point. He's like, once you see the numbers,
you have to hold up. But I am,
I wouldn't say defensive of Randson. I do
think it was awkward. I came with the player was, but he kind
was brushing with him, and then it kind of
went into the player Romanov. So
I don't think Ransom had ill intent.
So I don't think he was trying to
drill the guy in, you know, injure his career, especially
check from behind like that. But I totally appreciate Patrick Waugh being fired up and being
at Swelbukin. It's one of the reasons why we love Patrick Waugh. As a goal, he was always
outspoken. As a coach, he's been in the way, got to support your team. So I personally did not
think the hit was malicious, but I understand Patty being so upset. And I love the fact he was
so vocal about it. It was good theater. The Red Wings and Rangers got together at
Senate Ice and had a brouhaha as the benches cleared. What did you think about that?
So after watching the Beloved Eagles game, there was no NFL network in the hotel in Columbus.
They didn't have NHL network, which is great, got to watch on the fly.
But I'm trying to watch NFL coverage just to get caught up.
So in the meantime, I'm just watching SportsCenter, which I don't do often these days.
It's not a sleigh.
I just don't do it.
And I said they get to a hockey highlight.
They roll the front Rangers Red Wings, and they pick it up nine seconds left.
And I go, wow, this must have been a hell of an ending.
Like, this is a 10 second highlight.
And they just show, obviously, come off the quick losing his mind.
I get an example, Roy, where I get both ends.
Like, I understand, in this instance, a player going, I'm not going to wait until the sale.
Like, if I have a shot at a free goal, I'm taking a free goal.
Like, I just shoot the puck, and then the horn sounds fine.
But I get quick thinking, hey, it's my net.
I'm going to defend it.
What I didn't like is Panarin and the rest of the Rangers not really having Quicks back.
You know what I'm saying?
I get to shoot the puck for a goal.
And then Quicks like, F that.
This is my net.
But then the other Rangers starts to come in and mix up a little bit.
So it's one of those unwritten rules.
Again, I asked Thomas Hickey about it.
One of my colleagues on Prim United Hockey, and he goes, I get it from both ends.
Like, if I have a chance of a free goal, I'm taking it.
But I love Jonathan Quicks and say, no, let's mind that you don't mess with it.
Yeah, it's the type of season that the Rangers are having.
I mean, you saw what happened with J.T. Miller and that,
him just giving up on a play and go to night's scoring.
I mean, it's like they don't have each other's backs on that team.
That was a bad.
That's ugly.
And there could be no greater indictment of a team, right?
If you're bad, at least you have each other's backs, fine.
Drop the gloves, do something.
If it's like, no, we don't even care together.
Like, that's a really a bad sign.
And again, it's mystifying how bad they are at home ice.
You would think on Broadway's where the Rangers star hasn't been the case.
I just was taken aback by Jonathan Quick reacting like that.
Like, I don't know.
The game's over.
The Nets empty.
Like, you just lost.
Like, is that really the time and the place to be getting all pissed off about a goal that does?
Like, even like if you do it during play during the game and it's like a delayed penalty or something, I get that.
But the game's over.
Like, everybody's skating away.
Your own teammates were right there when it happened and nobody seemed to care.
Like, read the room.
And I'm a big Jonathan Quick fan.
Sure.
I just didn't like that.
that at all. One of the great American goalies
of all time. Rubber hips, dude.
It's amazing. It's a great point if
it was a delayed call. You're right, if it's in the
heart of the game. Like, okay, I can understand. The game
is over. Like, why is it that big a deal? But
clearly, I think he's frustrated for reasons
beyond just that play. Next
week is Thanksgiving. That is the magic day
where all the teams look at their
rosters and look at the standings
and see where they are in the league
so far the season. Outside
of Canada, because we talked about what's going on
up north. Let's look at
the entire league, look at the standings, who's going to make a move, who's not going to make
a move, who's going to make the playoffs, and who's going to miss out? So we look at specifically
the East, just to again show the parity here. Like, it's crazy how many teams, like from 24 points
to 22, there's 12 teams. Like, it's crazy. So in the East, it's very difficult to predict
who's going to be better. Like Carolina and Jersey, the head of the class, Islanders, but again,
you've got literally every team separated by six points. So I would expect that you're
Florida Panthers are going to be better, 23 points in 20 games.
The Bruins are a fascinating story because they look terrible.
And we interviewed Marcus Sturman Otto and he's a great guy.
He's grinning the whole time.
He ain't going to be smiling in February.
His team keeps it up.
They lose 7-2.
Then they ripped off like seven straight wins.
Oh, my God.
The Bruins are atop the Atlantic.
Now they've only had one in their last four games.
So I find them very fascinating and schizophrenic.
But I think they're a better team they've shown.
The capitals are going to they've taken its step back.
The real question of me, Roy, at least in the east, is like, which of these so-called surprises continues.
Like, I think if you look at Carolina and New Jersey, it's okay, I expect.
to them be good. But Islanders, Detroit, Pittsburgh, which of those three is actually
legit? Because once you get the 20-game mark, which we're about to hit by Thanksgiving,
you say, all right, these teams are actually good or they're not good. So that's concerning.
As far as the West is concerned, Colorado is incredible. This is going to be one of the great
teams ever, 14-1 and 5. Them in Dallas together, we knew last year how good that matchup was
in the Western Conference. We can only hope to get that, perhaps, in a Western Conference
final. I think Anaheim is here to stay, pleasant surprise. Seattle, I'm interviewing
Lane Lambert today. He's in a great job with their defense. DeCore looks like he's taking a big
step everly as far as the leadership role.
And those bottom drag teams, I think are not good.
Vancouver, St. Louis, Nashville, Calgary.
Edmonton's better, hopefully at some point.
That's kind of it.
The Chicago, like Ethan mentioned, 10, 6, and 4, like 24 points and 20 games.
They're a fun team right now.
I hope they can hang.
So I said before the season, I felt a little sheepish after the first couple weeks of the season.
But before the season, I said that I thought San Jose was going to contend for a
playoff spot by the end of the year.
Now, there are one point out right now after a horrible start, Adnan.
and am I going to be proved right
or are the Sharts going to sharks?
It would be an incredible prediction, David.
I don't think it'll happen.
I think the sharks are going to shark.
But I'll tell you this,
we had this conversation with the great Chris Bronger,
Hall of Fame Defensive, one of the greats ever.
And I said to him, who is going to be quicker to a Stanley Cup?
Connor McDavid or Connor Bedard.
And he said, I'll go a wild card with you,
and I'll say McLeodlin Celebrini.
I was like, wow, imagine Celebrity
and the Sharks win a cup before McDavid and the Oilers
and Bedard in the Block.
Can you imagine?
People love Celebrity around the league.
league, man. Can you imagine? They love him.
Their heads would explode. They would be crazy.
Oh, my God. Adnan, do you...
Everyone was a family cup, and you're telling me celebrating,
you're telling me a cup of...
McDavid to the Sharks. Here it goes.
McDavid to the Sharks.
That's what happens. I love it.
So, Adnan, I am very eager for, also for
Thanksgiving, but not because of hockey.
The lights again.
Yes. Because it's called Stranger Things.
Oh, yeah.
Yeah?
So, no, I don't watch it. I'm aware of it.
My wife and the kids watch.
I gave you a yeah, like I know, Rose.
Yeah.
Misleading.
You're killing me here.
Yeah, this could be like, Stranger Things.
I'm like, yep, I'm aware of it.
I know it.
My wife watched the kids watch it.
They're excited the final season.
Yeah, I love Maya Hawke.
I love Ethan Hawke so much.
He's got a great film called Blue.
She's right now, so I know that's his daughter.
So by association, I root for her.
Once again, Rose, I'm unfamiliar with the topic.
Go ahead.
Tell me how excited you are for Stranger Things.
I'm telling you, this is one of the best shows I've ever seen in my life.
And people are like, have you watched Breaking Bad and everything.
I'm like, yes.
The Sopranos, yes, I have.
I have watched all of them.
And I still rank it as one of my favorite shows of all time.
And people are like, why would I watch it?
And then I'm telling you, if you like movies,
if you like how it's done, the arcs of characters and everything,
I am telling you, go watch it.
If you like movies.
I can't get past that one.
Yeah.
I think he likes movies.
I know.
It's a masterpiece.
Like the music, the art, the acting, everything.
This voice, I cannot convince them.
She's giving you an assignment.
But, yeah.
David, Rose, it sounds like a lot of work.
The two of the shows you mentioned, by the way, are my two favorite dramas.
The soprano's in Breaking Bad.
So I can't imagine Strader things.
It's going to be better than those two.
So I'm skeptical like all those other people you're talking to.
But Rose, more importantly, isn't this like the fifth season?
I'm guessing at least 10 episodes.
That's like 50 episodes you're expecting me to pound through.
That's a lot of work.
Well, not in time for the new season, Adnan.
But you could certainly get started and work at your own pace.
24, because season one.
is eight season two is eight so it's just 24 and the new season is going to be nine the new season is like
every episode's like two hours too right yeah yeah and and the last uh the last episode is going to be
televised how about how about this is my wife and one of my kids is definitely going to be watching
they're locked in they're excited like you why don't i just pick it up with them watching the final
season and they can fill in the holes for me as i'm watching is possible okay so yes so you can talk
theories and then you can be like
okay my guess is here
this people are going to die
this are not going to die so we can play
the game yeah imagine like not
watching the sopranos but then watching the final season
oh man we've missed so much
there you go two hour
episodes get over
yourself who are you saying that to us
no not you guys
because I get it I get why you like the show
it's a great show whatever just two hour
episodes in general like if you're just make 18
hour long episodes
That's fine. I'm good with that.
I think what they're doing is they're trying to not make the mistake that got made at the end of Game of Thrones
where they knew they had to end it by X season.
So they crammed in so much shit to what it was, like five or six episodes in that last season of Game of Thrones and basically ruined one of the best shows of all time.
The best shows of all.
For sure.
So I'm thinking maybe Stranger Things said, okay, we're going to still finish it this season, but we're going to pack each episode.
We're going to get every piece of crucial information, every storyline is going to make sense.
So I'm hoping that they're not going to ruin this one
Because God, I don't know
I love Game of Thrones almost as much as I love my kids
And the way that they ruined it in that last season
It hurts.
They ruined it. Almost as much as you love the kid.
It's a good show.
But when I started Gamma Thrones the first time,
I was like, what is this?
Then the second time, I was like, oh my God.
And then when I got to the seventh, I was like,
I was better off because watching that last season was the worst.
Like I can get through the first two or three episodes
of the last season, but once you get past the big battle,
it's like, all right, I'm done.
Oh, okay. All right. All right.
Adnan has had enough.
I've had enough. I've had enough.
I've definitely had enough. But Brosman, I didn't have verbally being like flavor
Flavre. They're like David's hype man. Whatever he was saying,
she was like, definitely one of the best.
That's my girl.
Yeah, girl.
Adnan Burke of Prime Monday night and hockey. Have fun in Los Angeles, brother.
I appreciate so much.
And we'll see you soon, Adnan.
Yes.
I bet I'll see in two weeks. I booked my rental car.
I'm landing at the Orlando International Airport.
I've picked up the rental, drive to Miami.
I will see you boys in two weeks, December 6.
Let's get it.
Absolutely. Looking forward to it. Thank you, brother.
Thanks, boys. Appreciate you.
The Florida Panthers do better in the upside down.
We are in the Panthers then as Rose just decided to start this segment and not tell me about it.
So I'm a bit off on what we are doing here. Thank you very much.
The upside down.
That was good, though.
Yeah. The Panthers have won four out of the last five.
Here's what happened so far. This week, on Saturday, they lost to Tampa.
three to one. Monday, they beat Vancouver
8 to 5, and last
night they beat New Jersey 1. Nothing.
They have Edmonton.
Tomorrow, before they go on the road
to Nashville. Now, as I said, they won four out of the last five.
The win versus the Canucks,
vastly different
from no win last night against the Devils.
They played everybody. Both teams
played in mud. That was a weird game.
Weird game.
The Canucks game was weird.
Yeah. That was a really weird game.
They were down 2-0.
They were up 5-2, tied 5-5, and then they won 8-5.
Yeah, that's exactly what happened.
A lot of staying power by the Panthers there.
I mean, they can score.
They gave up 15 shots.
They scored eight goals and they gave up 15 shots.
Like, forgetting how the final ended, that right there, it's like, okay, even though
they gave up five goals, like, that's a really dominant game, you would think.
Bad Night for Bob.
Sorry, they outshot Vancouver 41 to 15.
Like, you can say it's a bad night for Bob because five wouldn't.
in on 15. The Panthers got out XG'd in that game. The Canucks actually had more
expected goals because all of their shots, like if you watch back, all five of their goals
were like point one of them was weird. The first one was really weird. Like Bob had it covered
and then he kind of didn't and then it went in. Like all of their shots were like right there
point blank chances. So like yeah, Bob, when you see five on 15 you're like, God, he had a terrible
night. But at the end of the day, like, you know, a lot of those chances were right out in front
and the defending was really bad for the Panthers,
but they really tightened up last game.
They were fantastic defensively yesterday.
Bob was great as well.
Sergei Brabowski, whenever he has a bad game,
comes right back and has a very good game.
That's what happened against New Jersey.
In fact, both goaltenders had good games.
Jake Allen was good as well.
And it seems to be a common occurrence where the Panthers
can't finish the shots, especially Carter Verhege.
What's going on with him?
In the last couple years now that Verhege is just not
finding the net the way that he had for his first several years with the Panthers talking about
shooting percentage. His first, what, four years with the Panthers, 16.8, 14.4, 15.3.13.8. That's all
pretty solid for a goal swore, right? Yeah. Last year, it got cut in half to 8.3. This year,
that's been cut in a half to 4.3. Carter Hades is just snake bitten right now when it comes to
finding the back of the net. Is that just it? He's just snake bitten? Yeah, he's still getting
shots. He's still creating opportunities. He's still great both sides of the ice. He's still the same.
tenacious player that he's always been.
It just feels like he can't beat goaltenders right now.
Jack Devine had his first game last night, and he looked good.
I mean, he made plays.
Confident.
He had that, yeah, he made confident plays.
He had that one turnover in his first shift, but kind of got it to get it after that.
And really, we saw some good passes by Jack Devine last night.
It was nice to see.
Like, he's leading the Charlotte Checkers and scoring the season.
Obviously, Paul Maurice has talked about his championship predigree.
He won the national championships with the University.
City of Denver before coming to the pro hockey.
I was going to say the NHL before coming to pro hockey.
Then he went with Charlotte last year on their run to almost winning the Calder Cup.
It came up short to the Abbotsford Canuts and Shilovs with your penguins.
But no, like I liked what I saw a lot.
And just the word that you said, that I said, confidence.
When you see it from a guy playing his first NHL game that the game's not too big for him,
that's big for me.
Because I think this year with like Mackie Samiskevich talking about younger guys,
the confidence that he's shown this season, it's been spectacular.
A couple things.
one on Verhege, that 4.3 shooting percentage,
second worst on the team among players that have actually scored a goal this year.
The worst would be Aaron Eckblad at 3%.
Guys, let's all do an exercise here.
It's 20 games in.
Let's all just take a big deep breath.
Ready?
With me, ready?
Big deep breath, guys.
20 games in.
20 games in.
20 games in.
20 games in, the Panthers are one game off of their pace the last two seasons,
and that's without Alexander Barkoff, Matthew Chuk, Dmitri Kulikov, Jonah Gajevich,
at Duolosurinus now on the injured list, Tomas Nosek,
Cole Schwent now, like seven, what is it, six, seven, eight guys.
We've got to start counting if we're going to keep doing it.
It's crazy. The Panthers, for all the injuries, and it looked right.
Like some of those games at the beginning of the year were tough.
They were getting beaten down.
They're 6-3-1 in their last 10.
They're one point out of a playoff spot with a game in hand on the Washington Capitals.
Penalty for time.
They're going to be fine.
Wasn't it you that was panicking?
I'm doing a thing, Roy.
I'm doing a thing.
No, that was no, no, no.
What I said, what I said was panic.
Here's what I said during training camp.
What I said during training camp was that if the Panthers don't have Alexander Barkov in the playoffs,
they're not going to win the Stanley Cup.
And I stand by that.
I still don't think, like, they're going to have to get Bar Cuff.
The season was over today.
I said it feels like your season ends before it even starts.
Semantics!
When the Panthers, when you've won two Stanley Cups,
when you've won back-to-back Stanley Cups,
get out of here.
Not winning the Stanley Cup is a failure, right?
When you've won two in a row.
So it feels like your chances at a Stanley Cup end when Alexander Barkov goes down.
We'll see how everything plays out.
But the Panthers are in a really,
good spot. They're still going to be a playoff team. They're playing really, really good hockey
despite all the injuries. Cachuk will be back, hopefully soon, you know, Nosecic eventually,
Gajov eventually, Cooley eventually, and then we'll see about Barkov come playoff time. This team is
going to be fine. Well, listen, not winning the Stanley Cup as a failure, even if you did win
the Stanley Cup last season. That's just the way things are in this league. The Panthers are coming
up on the Edmonton game tomorrow at home. The last game in this homestead before,
a homestand before they go up to Nashville
and then come back for another
homestand? Where do you see
in this Emmettin game? Because Stuart Skinner has not
been good. No, I don't think he's going to play either.
I think Calvin Pickard, he played pretty well.
Was it last night in Tampa?
Yeah, last night in Tampa.
And Skinner has just not been good at all
this season. I mean, his goals against
is three. His safe percentage is 882
and he's not coming up
with timely saves, which was an issue in the playoffs.
So I think you're going to see a motivated
Euler squad. They've lost four or five.
They've given up a ton of goals lately.
So I'm excited for the game.
Ethan Roy. I'm, you know, nice little Stanley Cup final
rematch, but I think... I'm excited for the game.
If the Panthers don't win, it would be a disappointment.
You said Ethan Roy, Rose?
You're going to be in Gainesville, Rosie.
You're going to be at the Gator game.
No, Rosie's going to be at the swamp.
But you can be, you can be excited, though I can also be part of the Ethan...
Well, I know why you're excited, because your guy,
your rip-the-ice guy will be playing.
No, he doesn't play.
Oh, he's not...
No. I'm telling you, he's the worst.
Yeah, he's probably going to be.
Probably for you, Noah, buddy.
You're not giving me a shit.
I expect the Oilers to come out firing in this game.
They're going to be, they're pissed off after the last couple years.
They're not playing well at all.
Pickard, I agree with you, Dave.
I think that's a great point.
He's going to be their starting goaltender for the immediate future.
Probably.
They need to make a move, though.
I think everybody knows they need to make a move.
But I think they're going to come out fired up.
It's going to be a great game.
I'm going to be in the building.
Can't wait for.
it and I'm going to be in the building.
Of course. I'll beat the game. Can't wait.
Fired up.
And I'm fired up.
Like, this should be, this is a,
the Oilers are going to want this to be the game that turns their season around, right?
They're going to want to give everything they have to come out and beat this team that's
beat them twice in a row in the Stanley Cup final.
But I think the Panthers are going to have some good pushback.
And it's going to be a fun game on Saturday.
I don't know if I want to put all my heads in that basket if I'm the Oilers, but to
each their own, man.
Like if they want to say, we're going to, the Panthers have got like, no, like, I, like,
I agree that that would be a good spark for them, right?
I just don't know if it would be smart just because it's the Panthers.
For sure, right?
They do.
And the press box last night.
I remember who said it, but somebody was talking about quality losses in the playoffs.
And who's got more?
Quality loss over the last few years than the Edmonton Oilers.
Like, they've got so much experience.
Happy Thanksgiving, everybody.
We are off next week.
We will return December 5th for Ann Ann Annberg.
Thank you for joining us for Gino and Danny Benitez.
