Starting point is 00:00:00 An individual approached U.S. Border Patrol officers with a 9mm semi-automatic handgun. The officers attempted to disarm this individual, but the armed suspect reacted violently. Fearing for his life and for the lives of his fellow officers around him, an agent fired defensive shots. Medics were on the scene immediately and attempted to deliver medical aid to the subject, but he was pronounced dead at the scene. The suspect also had two magazines with ammunition in them that held dozen. dozens of rounds. He also had no ID. This looks like a situation where an individual arrived at the scene to inflict maximum damage on individuals and to kill law enforcement. So, gosh, there's a lot to unpack here. And I got to say, like, right off the gate,
Starting point is 00:00:46 I had some issues with the wording. And I'm going to explain why it's not being picky. It's because it's important. And it's because certain things, language matters in instances like these. Welcome to the program right off the bat. Dana Lash with you and we're at the top of this first hour and we're going to unpack all of this stuff. Now if you're watching the we don't, obviously because Texas is iced down, we can't get the crew here because there's about an inch and a half of ice over all the roads. So we don't have the video simulcast today. However, we are going to, I mean, we're able to have the audio for you. So we're not going to be able to do the video simulcast because we can't get the people, we can't get the folks here. Anyway,
Starting point is 00:01:34 so this whole story over the weekend, everybody is aware of it now. And this whole story is, it's tragic. It was entirely avoidable. And yet we're dealing with it. And there's some, There's a lot of questions that still exist. If you are a subscriber over at my substack, you subscribers got all of this early. I just opened it up. There's no paywall or anything. And you can see the latest because I wrote about exactly kind of where we were and exactly, you know, what to expect, what we know and what we don't know.
Starting point is 00:02:22 I'm going to start out by saying this. I am not going to take a single lecture from anybody at all who, before this weekend, advocated for policies that would have made this Alex Preti a felon for the firearm that he was carrying. So let's be crystal clear. There is an effort underway, in my opinion, to weaponize two-way stuff for folks and to really kind of get people to hammer on ice and really divide the right. And so this is, it's an issue. And we're going to dive into this. We're going to get into firearm law. we're going to get into protests.
Starting point is 00:03:18 We're going to get into what you can expect, et cetera, all of that. We're going to dive into it. And get you to understand what your rights are and what they aren't. I didn't like Christyneum's remarks because I thought they were sloppy and poorly worded. And I feel like if anybody in the administration is going to go on and talk about this, that you owe people the effort of using correct language. Why do I say this? Why is this important? It's not petty. It's not nitpicking. It's because different language invokes different statutes. It invokes different aspects of the law and with that different penalties. That is why it's important. So when I hear one of the things to establish as well is it's not illegal to carry a gun at a protest. I carry guns at numerous protests. I've carried guns at numerous protests. I've
Starting point is 00:04:16 have open carried right in front of police at a protest. But what I didn't do is impede a federal law enforcement operation. That is a crime. The presence of a firearm in commission of a crime makes everything crazier. You can dislike this, but that is the way the law works. the video is mostly unhelpful. I've seen every single piece of video that has been made publicly available. I have seen it at regular speed. I have seen it slowed down. I have seen it stabilized, which really didn't help a whole hell of a lot.
Starting point is 00:05:03 Because it's very blurry and grainy and et cetera. I've seen all of it. I think people are going into this with a lot of confirmation bias, and want to see what they want to see. With the video, in this case with Alex Prattie, the individual who was shot by border by ice agents over the weekend, what it seems to show is that he was armed. At one point, one of the videos, one of the angles suggests that he may have been disarmed before shots.
Starting point is 00:05:44 ring out before shots were fired. So then you have to take into consideration. This happened within the span of what? A handful of seconds. It is a very chaotic scene. You have about six or seven agents involved and chaotic. They're trying to figure out what's what shots ring out and then one agent fires at Preti, killing him. Now the narratives that we have heard is that, well, you know, he went there with two magazines. That's irrelevant. Most people who carry, as I do, always have an extra spare mag. That's completely irrelevant. Some were saying, well, you know, it's a crime that he didn't have his concealed carry ID. It's actually a petty misdemeanor in Minnesota for which the first time offense is a wrist slap of a $25 fee, which is only
Starting point is 00:06:45 paid about 50% of the time. No one's getting shot because they don't have an ID. But I tell you what complicates things. And you don't have to forfeit support for the Second Amendment to say you can't impede a federal investigation. You can't do it armed or unarmed. And it's not the smartest thing to do it when armed. You don't seek confrontation and to purposefully put yourself in a situation where things can escalate dramatically and maybe perhaps take a violent turn. To acknowledge this is not to forfeit support for Second Amendment rights. And you're not, this has nothing to do with the First Amendment either. I've seen video too leading up to the moment of engagement where you have Preddy, who is
Starting point is 00:07:42 seen on camera, in the street blocking traffic and then telling people, where to drive. He wasn't appointed by the Minnesota Department of Transportation to direct traffic in that particular part of Minnesota. He was not appointed by ICE or Border Patrol to direct traffic in that particular operation. He had been out there for the better part of the day, and this was not the first time that he has been out there either, as his parents have indicated, because they have told him to not put himself or involve himself in the operations. So they know that he has done this before and he's done this apparently a handful of times previously. And to be out in the middle of the street, blocking traffic and telling people where they can drive
Starting point is 00:08:37 with the sole purpose of disrupting a federal law enforcement operation is considered impeding. It's covered by a federal statute. It is a crime. You can dislike that it is a crime, but that does not change the fact that it is a crime, and it has been a crime for quite some time. These are all facts. The presence of a firearm in the mix makes it a little tense. Why would it make it tense? Well, let's see.
Starting point is 00:09:07 What has been happening in Minnesota for the past several weeks? Hell, what has been happening in Minnesota since George Floyd? What has been happening in Minnesota since Occupy Wall Street? Antifa. I mean, we can go on and on. Border agents have been targeted. They have been attacked. They have been doxed. They have been stalked. They have had hotels where they have stayed at overrun with rioters breaking windows and vandalizing private property. People have had their cars vandalized because they were suspected of being law enforcement or in some way associated with ICE. This has been happening the entire time. You have had people like Tim Walls tell everyone to go out in the street and cause problems. Jacob Fry telling people to go out in the street and cause problems. The Attorney General of Arizona telling people to go and shoot ICE agents. That is a fact.
Starting point is 00:10:04 That was one of the really fun little sound bites over the weekend. Actually, I think I tweeted about it on Thursday of last week. That is not helpful. None of this is helpful. They're calling ICE agents Nazis and tyrants and monsters and murderers. They have been demonizing these people from the get-go. And this isn't just started this year. It's been ongoing.
Starting point is 00:10:40 Let's not forget how you had the entire nation geared up to lynch border patrol agents who simply rode horses and held horse reins. They were accused of whipping people at the southern border. So it's not shocking that people who are doing the job that they were hired to do to enforce a policy that was voted on by the majority of the country, it is not beyond the realm of possibility that they might feel a little bit as though their safety is threatened when you have someone who is impeding a federal investigation while simultaneously. armed. He was lawfully armed to be sure up until the point he decided to impede in an investigation and a law enforcement operation. The moment you decide to participate in criminal activity is the moment according to the law, you cease being quote unquote lawful. Now, these are all facts.
Starting point is 00:11:53 It is also a fact that someone was shot and killed on camera. It is also completely legitimate, and it is not to say that you hate ICE to question what was it that triggered use of lethal force? There is nothing wrong with asking that question. There's nothing wrong with asking what the standard operating procedure is. There is nothing wrong with any of this. You're not declaring innocence or guilt. you're not declaring a rejection of border patrol or enforcement. You have every right to ask that question.
Starting point is 00:12:39 Free people are encouraged to freely ask questions. That is how a transparent society with a transparent government works. And it is completely legitimate to criticize any language from any elected official, be it someone like Tim Walz, who is telling people to go out. and cause problems or the Attorney General of Arizona who is saying that it is stand your ground to shoot ice agents, as it is to criticize maybe the head of DHS for mischaracterizing the presence of two magazines as somehow indicative of ill intent. These are all absolutely true and legitimate things to question. We need to stop with the idiot tribalism and return to intellectual nuance when
Starting point is 00:13:32 discussing these issues. It is one of the things that is sending this nation to hell in a handbasket faster than anything else. So we're going to explore all of these themes here coming up. And we also have the signal group. This individual was part of a very well-organized leftist effort to go out and disrupt these operations. We're going to discuss that. These are all true things. And we're also going to get into the prospect of an eventual maybe another government. and shutdown. So we got this and a lot to touch on. The folks who help bring you the program, it's our friends over at Relief Factor. Relief Factor wants to help you with everyday aches and pains. And maybe you want to try to get it under control. A lot of people have found relief, including my own husband, call 800 number four relief or visitrelieffactor.com. That's relieffactor.com. That's relieffactor.com.
Starting point is 00:15:04 or call 800 number four relief and tell them Dana sent you. And now, all of the news you would probably miss. It's time for Dana's Quick Five. All right. So first up, I don't think I actually pulled this up yet. Maybe I did. Maybe I didn't. Like I said, we're going to get into all of this other stuff here momentarily.
Starting point is 00:15:27 You'll have to forgive me for a moment. I'm having a little bit of a technical difficult date because this is an opening. All right. So, like I said, we're going to get into also the shutdown potential because now we're facing another, well, we are going to face another government shutdown. That's just something that's going to happen. We were talking about that as they have another spending bill that's coming forward. Also, the winter storm, ice power outages insane right now.
Starting point is 00:15:52 I think, though, in Texas, we haven't really had, it hasn't been anything like Ice Mageddon. It's been a little rough with the closures, but we haven't had a crazy amount of, power outages. There have been thousands of flights canceled, though, as the storm has moved across the country. So I know what in some of the airports, I think what in DFW was like over, or several hundred that had been canceled. And I think O'Hare, DFW, Atlanta, some of these are the ones that are most affected. So that they said, Transportation Secretary said that they're looking to have things start to be normalized towards the end of the week. So there you go. Also, if don't, Oh, goodness. Don't drive around with snow on your car. Clear your windshield off. I don't know why this is
Starting point is 00:16:36 a headline, but it's a story in Maine. We're going to get into a whole bunch more coming up. Stick with us. January is when a lot of people finally stop and look at their money. And instead of chasing big predictions or the next hot thing, they just want something solid. And that's why gold keeps coming up as a steady, reliable option. I was talking with Colin Plum over at Noble Gold Investments. And we were discussing how no one really knows what 2026 is going to bring, elections, markets, wars. But one thing we do know, gold and silver have outlasted every empire, every crash, every currency. And at the end of the day, it's about that peace of mind. Having a little gold in your strategy can make those wild market swings a lot easier to live with because real wealth isn't flashy. It's being prepared and protecting what you've already built for yourself,
Starting point is 00:17:23 your kids, and your grandkids. And quit referring to these people as law enforcement. They are not law enforcement. We have law enforcement who do an incredible job. And to listen to Greg Bevino, No, denigrate the work of our people who are out there cleaning up their mess. No, I don't have a lot of confidence that he himself will do it.
Starting point is 00:18:04 So Tim Walls, Minnesota Governor, is not helping with his rhetoric. And when he's talking about, do not refer to them, he's specifically referencing ice. And he's had a number of soundbites over the weekend. He's been pouring gasoline on this fire. And case and point, the reason why we are all here, talking about this in the first place is because Tim Walsz and other blue state and other blue city leaders have refused to cooperate with immigrations and customs enforcement on detainers and also on arresting and deporting criminal multiple offenses, multiple conviction, illegal aliens who are being apprehended in their states and. cities. This is indisputable fact. Welcome back to the program. In fact, last week, if you've missed any of this, you can go and find the archives of this on our podcast, on the Dana Show podcast.
Starting point is 00:19:07 But I went through, what, like 50 some odd names of these individuals that have been detained by ICE. This has just been in the last few months. And it was shocking how many of them, which all of them, by the way, in case you were curious, every single one of the names, and I didn't just like go out and cherry pick or I just grabbed all the names I could see of the published lists that were made available. Every single one of these individuals had a violent conviction. Some of them were convicted of violent crimes in countries like El Salvador. Some were convicted in Colombia, Guatemala, some were, you know, Mexico, doesn't matter. all of them had violent convictions. Some of them had actually a lot. Most all of them had more than one. There were a number of them, an untold number of them, for instance, that had been convicted of rape. Some of them brutalized multiple women in horrific ways. A whole bunch of them had child predation convictions. Some of them were actually detained and had been previously charged with making child pornography. making. Why in the world would you risk your life getting out in front of any of these people?
Starting point is 00:20:34 If you want to talk about tyranny, and that was something that came up this morning. I was on CBS, and I'm glad that they asked me to come on, and they were talking, they were open to talking about this aspect of the story. But when people talk about tyranny and the way that Tim Walz refers to these ICE agents, I don't consider enforcing the law that the people gave through the consent of their vote elected officials to implement, which, by the way, all of this is existing law and has been existing law for decades. It didn't just come into fruition when Trump was reelected. But you're talking about laws and policies that the American people had voted to implement over a majority, a majority of the country, over half of the country. They're implementing this.
Starting point is 00:21:20 and these lawmakers are referring to ICE agents as tyrants, etc. You know, the tyranny that I think of is the tyranny of allowing violent criminals to run freely throughout our streets and terrorize our communities. I think of people like Jocelyn Nungerre. The tyranny of allowing people to come into the country illegally and continue to commit crimes, that is tyranny. Refusing to do your one job of keeping people safe is tyranny. creating a society through unfettered deluge at the border and allowing every single criminal
Starting point is 00:21:57 to come in and then telling everyone that they're mean for wanting the violent criminals to go. That's tyranny. That is the tyranny I think of when you talked about, when people talk about mask thugs, I think of the mask thugs that are going around smashing cars in the streets because they think one of the owners might be an ice agent or related to law enforcement. I think of people who stormed churches and terrify people, terrify the congregants, get in the faces of the children and the women, causing one woman in fear to flee, fall and break her arm, by the way. When I think of masked thugs, I think of Antifa. They go to Hot Topic. They get their little kerchiefs, and then they run out into the street.
Starting point is 00:22:35 That's what I think of when I hear discussion of tyranny. This Alex Pready case, it's unfortunate. A couple of things. the video, first off, I think it's important to note, and this is all for context, this guy was a part of a very well-organized leftist effort to target ICE agents and disrupt federal operations. If you want to have a discussion of what tyranny is and isn't, I would say that encouraging people to disregard the law that has been voted on in support of by over half of the country, that's probably what we would call tyranny. But it was part of a very well-organized leftist effort. They had groups organized on the more anonymous-leaning messaging app signal to coordinate their riots and, you know, responses. So I think that's important to know. Not illegal, but if you're talking about targeting law enforcement and upending rule of law, it could very well be. But this individual also, when looking at the video, leading up to the moment of engagement of the other videos, he was out
Starting point is 00:23:48 in the street. He was obstructing traffic and impeding the operation, which is why they apparently told him to stop. So everyone thinks that the moment of engagement happened the second that the edited video started rolling and I completely challenged that whole that assertion. I think that there was a lot in the lead up. That's what I would like for to be made public in this investigation. I would also like to see his video footage from his own phone that he was holding. I realize that that's likely, we haven't seen it yet likely because of the ongoing investigation, but I do think it's important that we see it and I think it's important for it to be made public. There's nothing wrong with transparency, folks. But the whole point of this being a Second Amendment issue, I reject. I don't
Starting point is 00:24:35 think that this is a Second Amendment issue. Why would this be a Second Amendment issue? Because he was carrying. I disregard the whole licensing thing as well, and I'm not going to entertain that anymore. Because as I said in our first segment, people saying, well, he didn't have his concealed carry license on him. He's in violation of the law. First off, I'm not going to sit here and use anti-gun narratives in order to argue any of this. Just like I'm not going to take lectures from people who until last week advocated for policies that would have made Alex Pretty a felon. Not going to take lectures from those people on anything involving this case. So, and I don't not paying attention to the whole, well, he didn't have his concealed carry license. It's a petty misdemeanor in Minnesota. First
Starting point is 00:25:19 defense is $25 and 50% of the time it's not paid. That's irrelevant. And I'm also of the mindset that if you have to ask for something that means you're right to it is abridged. That being said, he was carrying the moment that you impede a federal investigation or a federal operation, it is irrelevant whether or not you think you can. The point is that it is already codified by federal statute. I think it's like USC, it's USC 1811. It's already a federal law. You can't impede a federal law enforcement operation. Now, you would say, well, he was just recording. Was that all he was doing when he was in the streets blocking traffic?
Starting point is 00:26:06 I'm telling cars where they couldn't, couldn't drive. Come on now. Oh, well, he was helping a woman up. A woman, apparently, that was also obstructing. Fine, whatever. He was helping a woman up. But the moment that he decided to involve himself in that, operation. That is the moment you can stop using the word lawful. And that's not a forfeiture of
Starting point is 00:26:29 your Second Amendment rights to correctly note what is existing federal law. You can dislike it all I want to, but that's just the way the law is on the books. That's why language matters, guys. The moment you're impeding a federal operation is the moment then you're committing a felony, and then the fact that you're carrying enhances all of that, and it makes all of it crazier. And it kickstarts a tragic domino effect that can have horrible consequences, as we have all seen. And the reason that we are here discussing any of this is because the first choice that was made was a poor choice, and it was made by Alex Pretty to involve himself in a federal operation. It is unfortunate, and I wish he hadn't done that.
Starting point is 00:27:16 because now we have this, you know, all of this awfulness that is a nation we're dealing with. Now, I also think it is completely relevant to mention the language and tone of all of these people out here that are continuing to pour gas on this fire. I mean, for instance, look at this. This is, where do we have? Golly. This is cut. This is, first off, this is what he said last week. This was Tim Walts when he was talking about Civil War. Listen to this. This is insane. This is a flashback, but somewhat recent. When things looked really bleak, it was Minnesota's first that held that line for the nation on that July 3rd, 1863. And I think now we may be in that moment that the nation's looking to us to hold the line on democracy. Why are we using language like this? Then you have Jacob Fry. who, this is cut 13 when he was talking about what happened over the weekend. His language also, listen.
Starting point is 00:28:21 I just saw a video of more than six masked agents pummeling one of our constituents and shooting him to death. How many more residents, how many more Americans need to die or get badly hurt for this? So the way that he's like, how many more, what he's doing, is he said, that's a straw me an argument. I mean, he's begging the question by assuming that ice agents are just going around randomly going after people. The reason that ICE agents and Prety even had engagement in the first place is because the latter involved himself in this operation, unfortunately. Now, I think it's perfectly acceptable to say why did they feel like there was need to use lethal force? What happened in the chaotic scene? Because the video, as shaky and garbagey as it is, seems to suggest that he had been disarmed at one point. And after that point, then shots rang out. At what point did agents feel as though that they needed to use lethal force? It's not, you're not, there's literally nothing wrong with asking this question. I don't know why people get so bent out of shape on it.
Starting point is 00:29:29 You either believe in a transparent government or you don't. Which is it? It's completely fine to ask this question. What is the standard operating procedure here? Did they think that he was, did they know he was disarmed? There was at one point people were saying gun, gun, gun, which is kind of hard to make out because the insane, whistles that are blowing in the background because of the rioters, did they think that that meant he had like another weapon on him?
Starting point is 00:29:54 Did they believe that he had another weapon on him? I don't know. At some point, though, one of the agents felt that their lives or safety were under threat and they felt it necessary to use lethal force. And I just want to know what was that thought, what happened in order to invoke that. And I feel that's completely fine for people to ask that question. But as I said, I don't believe that this is a Second Amendment issue.
Starting point is 00:30:20 I don't think it's a Second Amendment issue just because he was carrying. It's an issue of law enforcement. It's an issue of federal law. And it's an issue of a very well-organized left that is telling its citizens to go out and recklessly disregard their own safety and the safety of others by impeding federal operations that are targeting violent repeat criminals who are here illegally. that is the whole that's the whole focus of this story and it doesn't help when we have people in the administration going out and trying to make this about guns which we're going to talk about more here coming up are you being lied to about your retirement i mean the advice sounds familiar max out your 401k and your IRA and hand your life savings to wall street and just hope that the market cooperates
Starting point is 00:31:08 if that were the only way why do so many people then risk outliving their savings why does the inventor of the 401k, call it a monster that should be destroyed. The time has come to hear the truth. Bank on yourself is a retirement plan alternative that provides guaranteed predictable growth and reliable retirement income. Like sands through the algorithms, so are the days of the United States. What are you guys? What are you guys giving out? Coffee donuts, hot chocolate. And you're with the Minnesota National Guard? Yeah, we are. Yes, we are.
Starting point is 00:32:27 Why was this important for you guys to do today? This is a demonstration of safety and security. We're here to help them. So they were giving donuts and coffee to, I think there are protesters and there are rioters. And I think that the people that are out in the middle of the street, they're not protesting. these people are rioters. But, you know, the National Guard. They're trying to de-escalate the situation, which unfortunately is not being done by any of the state or local leaders.
Starting point is 00:32:55 It's just simply not. They're choosing to pour gas on this fire and make it just as dicey and as violent as possible. One of the reasons that they are doing this is because, honestly, they want to distract from probably one of the. biggest fraud stories in our nation's history, where taxpayers have paid hundreds of billions of our hard-earned dollars to members of the Somali diaspora in Minnesota so that they could buy porches and luxury homes, designer items, go on luxury vacations, all of this. And all of the people that are pouring gasoline on this situation. Every single one of them are implicated in the fraud.
Starting point is 00:33:46 Every single one of them have taken money, probably our taxpayer dollars, from all of these fraudsters. Everybody from Tim Walz to the AG, Keith Ellison, to the mayor, Jacob Fry, every single one of them. And they would love to have this go on for as long as possible because they need the distraction. they want to be they want everyone to turn away from that story and focus on something different so they've created this perfect storm this chaos in Minnesota Trump posted that waltz called him this is very recent within the last hour with the request to as Trump says worked together with respect to Minnesota he said it was a very good call we seem to be on a similar wavelength. He said he told the governor he would have Tom Homan call him and that all we are looking for are any and all criminals that they have in their possession. He said the governor very respectfully understood that,
Starting point is 00:34:50 and I'll be speaking to him in the near future. He was happy that Tom Homan was going to Minnesota and so am I. Now the way that the media, MSNBC says Trump is now looking for a way to tone down Minnesota. Actually, it sounds like that's Wals doing it, which he should have done in the beginning. So we we could have avoided all of this. Second hour on the way. By the way, don't let the left kid you with this, that this is just a normal protest where people are peacefully protesting. No, it's not. Peaceful protesters don't have nine millimeter weapons with two extra magazines. Peaceful protesters, I don't know about you, but I'm sure the same as me. I don't go in my closet and I don't have professional gray gas masks. to go in case tear gas is thrown. A normal neighborhood, what happens
Starting point is 00:36:40 in a normal situation is a cooperative. I get this is Congressman Jeff Andrew. He's natively New Yorker, but he represents New Jersey. Republican. We don't need Republicans using the anti-gun language of the left, y'all.
Starting point is 00:36:56 We don't need that. Welcome back to the program. Top of the second hour, Dana Lash, with you. And you're listening to, well, we're not have the video simulcast today because Texas is iced down. Can't get the guys to the suit the studio. So we're just audio today. But the claim that normal peaceful protesters don't carry nine millimeters and have two magazines is nonsense. I always carry a spare mag. I don't know anybody who
Starting point is 00:37:27 doesn't. That's not indicative of ill intent. Merely carrying a spare mag is not indicative of ill intent. Let's stop this nonsense right now. It doesn't mean anything of that nature. We're not doing the thought police stuff and we're not going to undermine the Second Amendment or try to make this issue, which isn't about the Second Amendment about the Second Amendment. And the more I learned about this, the more adamant I think I am about it. This isn't a Second Amendment issue. This is a guy who's part of the organized left who decided to impede a federal operation and it's unfortunate that he did so and it helped contribute to a super chaotic scene at which at one point enforcement became aware of the presence of a firearm and then somehow, I don't know, hopefully the investigation shed some
Starting point is 00:38:16 light on this. We'll find out why they felt the need to use lethal force if what the video suggests is true that he was disarmed. We'll see. Totally fine to ask these questions. But we're not going to sit here and try to say that, oh, well, merely the presence of a firearm at a protest means somehow ill intent. We're not doing that. I've carried numerous protests over the years. I, we're not getting into that. Now, I know that the, I mean, obviously the investigation is ongoing. I just saw something from Bill Malugian where apparently, which I figured, DHS spokesperson confirmed to him that the agents all had their body cameras on during the interaction. So, and that it's current, they're all currently being reviewed by investigators,
Starting point is 00:39:06 which is probably why it hasn't been released yet, all for it being released. As they analyze it, all for it being released after. And that's totally fine. And I think you should be able to request something like that. There's nothing wrong with transparency. Nothing wrong with that at all. But we're not going to sit here and demonize people. Oh, well, you're carrying, you have an extra mag that might be indicative of ill intent. That's not what that means. We're not doing that. it's also to just dispel this myth, not illegal to carry a firearm at a protest in Minnesota. Now, I know Gavin Newsom pushed legislation to criminalize that. I know that Tim Wals wanted to, if Tim Wals had his way,
Starting point is 00:39:46 Alex Pretty would have already been a felon for that sidearm that he was carrying. In fact, if any of these people trying to lecture you about the Second Amendment had their way, he would have already been a felon simply for the firearm that he was carrying. They wanted to make anything with a detachable magazine, anything with the threaded barrel, all of this stuff. They wanted to basically make everything in FA items. It's insane. So let's not take lectures from any of these people who would have made this guy a felon for what he was carrying before this weekend. You can carry at a protest of Minnesota.
Starting point is 00:40:19 It's perfectly legal to do so. But what you can't do anywhere is, again, impede a federal law enforcement operation. And that's what ended up happening. So I don't know. I'm hearing, you know, the administration, you had people like, known that came out. We talked about what she had said. Van Drew is not helping anything with his remarks here. And, of course, you've got cut 25. Go ahead and play. This is Scott Besson, which I don't even know why Treasury is weighing in on this. Listen. He brought a gun. Have you ever gone to a protest, Jonathan? I mean, we do have a second amendment in this country that.
Starting point is 00:40:55 Jonathan, have you ever gone to a protest? I mean, have you gone to a protest? I mean, I've, no, I actually, as a reporter covering it. Okay, I've been to a protest. Guess what? I didn't bring a gun. I brought a billboard. Okay. Okay.
Starting point is 00:41:08 You can go ahead and bring a gun on a billboard. That's fine. He can do that. But again, it doesn't indicate anything if you do carry at a protest. Like I said, I have as well. Here's something. I've seen a lot of people also try to compare this to the Rittenhouse thing. And by a lot of people, I mean the, you know, previously, apparently anti-gun people.
Starting point is 00:41:27 This isn't even remotely comparable to the Kyle Rittenhouse. situation. Kyle Rittenhouse was attacked by actual, no exaggeration, literal predators. Like, there was an actual pedophile that attacked him, like a guy who had been convicted, that's, and was literally like out on, like had just completed a prison sentence. So he had been attacked. He responded accordingly. And then when law enforcement showed up, he put his rifle down and his hands in the air. He didn't reach for anything. He didn't do anything. He didn't do anything. Rittenhouse was well within his right of self-defense against repeat offenders, one of them being a violent felon, who tried attacking him, and then he fired his rifle and everything that happened happened. This is an instance of a guy who involved himself in a federal operation, and then the series of unfortunate events kicked off.
Starting point is 00:42:22 They're not even remotely, remotely comparable. But we need people in the administration a kind of slow their role. I don't want to see people who have no idea about firearms going out there. I don't want to see Secretary of the Treasury talking about guns. I don't even want to see DHS sitting here going, well, they had an extra magazine. All of these things are irrelevant. That's not helping your, it's not, it's not, because you're dragging the Second Amendment into it, and you're trying to make it seem as though the presence of a firearm by anyone at any protest is somehow suspect. And that is exactly not what we want to have happen. There's nothing wrong with that.
Starting point is 00:43:04 Just don't engage in felonious criminal activity while you're carrying. And guess what? Impeeding a federal law enforcement operation is classified as it's under a federal statute that is looked at as a felony. Don't engage in criminal behavior while carrying. Very simple. And it looks like this guy, well, he's, had already gone to a number of these different events. It looks like that's what he purposely sought
Starting point is 00:43:31 out to do, that he was looking to do. I mean, it's all just unfortunate, you know, I mean, I wrote about this in my substack. I said, Prattie made the choice to disrupt a federal operation made necessary because blue state leaders refused to honor ICE detainers on violent repeat offenders, so they had to go there themselves to enforce the law. And that set off a chain of reaction of tragic events. That's it. And I think you, it's safe. to say that you can disregard a lot of these CSI Minnesota LARPers that are out there. You know, these images are shaky. When they're zoomed in, they're shaky and grainy. And then there's a lot of confirmation bias that comes into play here. And what little the images do suggest is that at one point,
Starting point is 00:44:14 it looks like Preddy was disarmed. And after he was disarmed, shots are fired. So was he disarmed? Did the, or the agents aware, if so, were the agents aware that he was disarmed? Did they reasonably believe that he may have had another, that had it concealed another weapon, what was the impetus for use of lethal force? You don't forfeit your support of the Second Amendment to ask any of this stuff. It's completely fair. But I'm going to caution people, the Second Amendment isn't an exemption for making stupid choices. You also should not want to make stupid choices while exercising your Second Amendment rights. But don't forget why we are in this position in the first place. We're not in this position because of the Second Amendment. We're not in this
Starting point is 00:45:00 position because of any confusion on guns. We're not in this position because any confusion on firearm law. We are in this exact position because Blue State governors and Blue State City leaders have outright refused to enforce established immigration law. They have refused to share information on repeat illegal offenders with Department of Homeland Security. They have refused repeatedly ICE detainer requests on some of these most violent offenders imaginable? This is why we are in this position. They want to dodge accountability. They want to reprieve on all of these issues and they will use two-A advocacy as covered to do it. Do not take the bait. This is not a Second Amendment issue. There is no reason why it needs to even
Starting point is 00:45:47 be remotely characterized as such by anybody in this administration or anyone calling themselves a conservative. The issue here isn't that he was carrying. The issue is impeding a federal operation and an organized leftist effort to do so. That is the issue. It doesn't matter if you're carrying a foam finger, a firearm, or whatever. It is always illegal to impede a federal law enforcement operation. This is what the current federal law states. I think it's like the statutes 18 U.S.C. 11. If you dislike the law, then change the law. But you don't fight it out with cops in the streets. You had this attorney general, Bill Assail, who had said, if you approach law enforcement with a gun, there's a high likelihood. They will be legally justified
Starting point is 00:46:42 in shooting you. I think he got a little upset that I had criticized him because I had said, what do you mean approach? What does that mean? Mere legal possession within the vicinity of law enforcement is not a criminal offense and does not merit the use of force's response. language is important. It matters. I don't want to see all of this become B-roll and gun control ads in the next election cycle. So please be smart. Someone referred to me as Antifa 2A, hardly. And I take issue with the judgment of any elected official who would dodge accountability of criticism and or clarity on their remarks by accusing people who know more about it apparently than they do of being Antifa because they correct them on bad gun control language. Let's stop. These statements don't help. What the guy
Starting point is 00:47:31 had or it didn't have isn't the issue. It's what he was doing. That is the issue. And as I said, being armed is different from being armed in commission of obstructing a federal law enforcement operation. Bottom line. Now, I'm sure all of this video and I hope it is will be released. Trump had said earlier within the last hour he had posted on his platform. that he had talked to Governor Tim Walz and that Walls had reached out to him. So it looks like Walls might finally, maybe, I don't know, I don't want to jinx it,
Starting point is 00:48:08 he might finally be looking to try to kind of calm tensions a little bit, get everything under control. And he needs to because you have people out in the streets. I mean, have you seen some of these stories recently? You have these writers now targeting random hotels, because they think ICE agents are staying there. These are pretty wild scenes. There's a lot of photos and video of it.
Starting point is 00:48:33 They're trashing. There's video of them busting the windows of a home suites by Hilton in Minneapolis. This was Sunday night. They were busting up into the hotel because they thought ice was staying there. They've been targeting restaurants that they think serve people who are part of ice. And in the meantime, it came out that there was this huge signal group of which Pready was part of, by the way. where they were organizing and instructing people on how to obstruct these arrests and these operations. So they were telling, I mean, the crazy thing is, is that even in the Signal group,
Starting point is 00:49:10 and there are screenshots because there have been independent reporters that have embedded themselves with it, they literally tell them at one point, do not obstruct an arrest under any circumstances. don't telling them don't run out the street and don't run or resist and you know the video shows something quite different. So these are all fair questions to ask, right? They're all incredibly fair questions to ask. And I don't think it's fair to determine someone's Second Amendment rights by whether or not they were engaged in, by judging ICE's response to someone who's involved in felonious criminal activity of obstruction. We're going to talk more about this here coming up. I was on CBS about this this morning. It was a very interesting conversation. The folks who will bring you the
Starting point is 00:50:00 program. It's our friends over at WebRute. WebRood is a great, it's a great program to have that runs so quietly in the background and it takes up so much less space than everything else that is out there. That's one of the reasons why a lot of people don't like to put antivirus stuff on their computers, like the McAfee's and the Nortons, because they're clunky as all get out and they take up so much room and they're so slow. Webroot though is not like that. Web root scans six times faster and takes up 33 times less space than the others out there. And it does so much more. This is something that not only protects and locks down your devices, but depending on whether you get web route total protection or web root essentials, you're also locking down your privacy, your identity as well. So none of your
Starting point is 00:50:47 personal private information ends up out there on the dark web. Webroot makes protecting yourself online super easy. You download it and then WebRood just runs quietly in the background. It's light. You don't even notice that it's there, but you do know that you're protected from everything. And you can also add members of your own family, other members of your family on and multiple devices too. Start the year off right. Get 60% off of WebRoot. This is protection for your digital life. Think about how much we're doing digitally now. Protect yourself and your family 60% off at webroot.com slash Dana. For a limited time only, webroot.com slash Dana. And now, all of the news you would probably miss.
Starting point is 00:51:28 It's time for Dana's Quick Five. So the mystery of Egypt's Giza Pyramids has deepened now because they say that there's a hidden megastructure, 4,000 feet below. There's an Italian scientist who conducted scans, and they used a synthetic aperture radar, and they were mapping out the subsurface using radio waves. They did 200 scans from multiple satellites, and it showed uniform results suggesting massive pillars
Starting point is 00:51:59 about 65 feet in diameter, wrapped in spirals and plunged nearly 4,000 feet deep. That's insane. They said that they appear to end in 260-foot cubic chambers beneath all three pyramids in the sphinx. Wow. So that's what they think it might be. How in the world? That's just wild. So anyway, that's what they're suggesting here. Also, California suing the administration over plans to restart oil pipelines along the coast. The state of California, not for it. So there were two oil pipelines along the state's western coast there. Well, the only coast. The fight escalated. The administration, the project was Houston-based, say, offshore court. They were going to restart production and waters near off Santa Barbara. It was damaged by a 2015 spill. And now they're fighting. They're fighting to prevent that from being
Starting point is 00:52:55 kickstarted and operating again. We'll see how that plays out. A.I. Generated British schoolgirl who's a fall right social media star. She's all AI slop. It's an avatar that I have no idea why. it was created to deter young people from extremism, and now she's apparently famous in her own right. Can we stop now? Oh my gosh. Can we stop creating AI famous things? High January's dry. Oh my gosh.
Starting point is 00:53:22 Seriously. Big pot. We have a lot more on the way. Stay with us. It's the folks over at Burn a gun. Burn a gun is there to give you an option to diversify your self-defense, your weapons array, for the lack of a better way to put it. Because, you know, you carry different calibre. you carry blades, why wouldn't you have something like this in mind too? Especially for those college
Starting point is 00:53:42 kids that live by themselves and they, you know, maybe they got to walk to class at night. Maybe they've, you know, they've got to walk out in the parking lot. Maybe they're, you know, walk under their job or whatever. They can't, they're not old enough to carry, but they need to protect themselves. Regular stun guns only shoot like maybe one or two rounds. The Berna, CL, the only one you need to know about, stands for compact launcher. The thing is a 15 round shot capacity. It's roughly the size of an iPhone. There's no target acquisition. Here's the kicker. There is no gun-free zone signs. It doesn't care because it's not a gun. And you order it online, they send it to your house. There's no background check. There's no fee, no tax stamp, nothing.
Starting point is 00:54:17 And those places that tell you you can't protect yourself with a firearm, well, it's not a firearm. So you can protect yourself and use a burner gun as a way to diversify what you got. Always stay protected. Burner is giving you another option to do that when other entities or people are trying to take that option from you. Visit burna.com slash dana, B-Y-R-R-N-A. Check out the Burna, CL, Compact Launcher. And they have different projectiles, different accessories, everything. Burna.com slash Dana, ready when you are. Make some common sense of the crazy headlines with the Dana Show podcast.
Starting point is 00:54:50 You're on the go guide for getting up to speed on today's most important stories. Subscribe on YouTube, Apple, or your favorite podcast platform. Many of us grew up reading that story of Anne Frank. Somebody's going to write that children's story about Minnesota. What? What? Golly. So now Tim Walz is thinking that somehow it's like the Anne Frank.
Starting point is 00:55:13 This is getting ridiculous. This guy seriously needs to just watch his language and stop trying to incite. Welcome back to the program. Dana Lash with you, an iced out day here in Texas. You know, I will say the, it was very interesting to me when the admin first came out and talking about this because some people were saying, and I think they got it from Noam, because I think it was Christine Noem who had first said that this guy was brandishing. Alex Pruddy was brandishing. I didn't see that in any of the video. Now, there's obviously a difference between defensive carry and brandishing. And I really feel like the people who are weighing in on this
Starting point is 00:55:56 don't know that. They don't know the difference between it or the legal implications of, you know, low ready and, you know, full on you're presenting. So I, those people need to, because that doesn't it's not helpful. And it's not helpful for the way, part of the reason why this is such a big argument is because the administration came out and made it so with the way they were describing it. The guy was called a domestic terrorist. I don't think he's a terrorist. I think he's a, I think the guy was a moron who made some stupid choices and was obstructing a federal operation and stupidly decided to carry in the middle of it. You know, you can't be doing that kind of stuff with the federal statute the way it is. And especially after ICE agents have been
Starting point is 00:56:37 repeatedly violently attacked by these people. I mean, for crying out loud, just the other week, we were talking about the woman who hit the guy, and he fired a shot, fired several shots in defense of his life after she hit him with her vehicle. That was on camera. So you don't go out there and be like, well, he brandished. I didn't see that. Nothing in the video supported that claim. And it was sloppy that it was made. And I, Christy Noem did not do herself any favors at all whatsoever. In fact, it made it, it partly contributed to one of the reasons why we're all having this discussion right now. It was entirely unhelpful. The guy wasn't brandishing.
Starting point is 00:57:16 And I think to imply that that Pruddy was intending to kill law enforcement, I think that that also doesn't, that seems kooky. And I don't know why they would present that as part of this story before the investigations concluded. Look, I think that if we're going to sit here and act like the story is as serious as it is, then you need to give that seriousness the respect of allowing the fact gathering to continue and allowing the investigation to proceed. It's incredibly important that that happens. So, as I said, from the video, I don't see any indication of anybody brandishing anything. I didn't see that.
Starting point is 00:57:58 I mean, I will say you can't tell in the video whether or not his hand goes back to where his holster. was or where we can't tell. I don't know how anybody can say confidently. I think they're BSing you because the video, it shows some things, but it doesn't show enough to where you can make a 100% confident assessment. I think that we are owed an explanation though, but getting out there saying somebody was brandishing or that, you know, he was intending to kill. I just, he hadn't yet. I don't know where that just because he had a presence of a spare mag. That's not enough for it to indicate any kind of ill intent. There's thousands. of people they carry every single day and carry spare mag with them. Probably over thousands.
Starting point is 00:58:42 I'd say maybe according to gun ownership in the United States, probably more like millions. But language matters. Why does it matter? We're not being petty and we're not nitpicking. It matters because different statutes are invoked depending on the language that is used. Different penalties are applied, specifically predicated upon the language that is used. That is why it's a important. That is why it's important. And I don't think anybody in the administration needs to be getting out ahead of any of this now. They don't have a great track record on it anyway of two-way stuff. So don't make that the thing that you focus on. All the administration needs to do is say, look, you can't obstruct federal enforcement. And you can't have Democrats up there
Starting point is 00:59:34 encouraging and encouraging this violence, encouraging this chaos. I mean, think about this. This came out, New York Post and others wrote about it. The well-organized network that is encouraging people to go and get involved in these operations. You've had a couple of independent journalists somehow get a part of these. These are all very Marxist-Leninist networks. These are these little commie cells. and they have signal chats, they're organizing,
Starting point is 01:00:11 it talks about where they're meeting, it talks about rapid responders, they have a database where they have been inputting in license plates of suspected ice agents. They are monitoring where vehicles are going. So it's all very well organized. There's tons of screenshots, very, very well organized.
Starting point is 01:00:34 and it's very, I really wish that these Democrat officials would say, you know, we need to slow the role. They have a responsibility. They have a responsibility to help restore law and order. And I think it's insane that these leftist groups are encouraging people to go out there and risk their safety by impeding these operations. It's insane that they're making lists of people's vehicles. Before they even confirm that they're ICE agents, if they just suspect that they are, they've been attacking regular everyday citizens, demanding that citizens prove that they're citizens. How unbelievably ironic. They're like, prove that you're not an ICE agent. What? Going up to
Starting point is 01:01:36 random people. This is weird. These people are nuts. But this is, these are Marxists. This is how Marxists fight. This is exactly the stuff that they do. Looking at this. This, I mean, it's just, well, you got this. This is a citizen. They said that they were followed by multiple vehicles for over an hour because they were suspected of being ice agents. Listen to this. They're being followed by these vehicles. Apparently they were added to these databases. We are not ice. We're not ice.
Starting point is 01:02:28 I'm showing my face. I'm not ice. We've come to you. We're not ice. What is that about tyranny? Yeah, they've been following us for over an hour. We're not ice. We're just letting them know in that and they...
Starting point is 01:02:46 Not ice. Not in an ice vehicle, right? No. Right. Right. Get in your truck. Get the f*** out. Why?
Starting point is 01:02:51 Because you need to go. Confirmed ice through who? We're American citizens. We're not ICE. Came to the people that you're abducting. Get out. Please go. So these people, they claim to object to ICE arresting criminals in their area.
Starting point is 01:03:11 But now what they've done is they've taken to starting, now they're harassing average everyday people. If they so much is even suspect that you don't agree with them, they take pictures of your license plates. they added to a database and they start falling you around town. These people are looking for confrontation. They are looking for violence. They are trying to cultivate violence so that they then can go to the press and say, look at how mean ICE is being to us. They were destroying a hotel the other day because they thought ICE agents were there.
Starting point is 01:03:49 They're attacking vehicles because they think an ice. agent might drive it or have been in it at some point. This is insane. And Chris Murphy, Democrat Chris Murphy, here's another example. This does not help. Listen. Minneapolis is fundamentally less safe because ICE and CVP are there. And that's the point. They are there to cause a conflict. They are there to create mayhem. And it isn't going to be just isolated to Minneapolis, as they continue to staff up with officers who are not trained for this kind of work. This is going to be in Philadelphia. This is going to be in Phoenix.
Starting point is 01:04:29 This is coming to your city as well. Hmm. I mean, inciting violence. This is just none of this may. They're looking, they're looking to create the issue. They're looking to create the issue. This is unfortunate. incredibly unfortunate. And then you got this Minneapolis police chief. This is cut nine. Now,
Starting point is 01:04:58 this is what he's saying about ICE agents, specifically the ones in the video with Alex Pretty. Listen. It's very untrained. It looks unprofessional. It looks very chaotic. It doesn't look like there is clear teamwork tactically to achieve the same objective. And it's just, it is absolutely not how we train law enforcement in Minnesota. And I think the, the greater issue, the greater concern is, you know, people should be able to have an expectation that the federal government can enforce federal immigration law without these, you know, poor tactics and really unconstitutional. You know, the reason why you have to have the poor, that, what he's calling for poor tactics,
Starting point is 01:05:40 you know the reason why they're there is because him and the other officials refuse to work with them. That's what they're not telling you. Minneapolis, Minnesota, they've refused ICE detainer requests. they've refused ICE detainer request, meaning they're ignoring the people, the violent offenders that they're looking to detain, they've been ignoring it. In fact, this is Hennepin County.
Starting point is 01:06:08 They have an established policy. This was invoked in 2021, where they refuse ICE detainer requests, and they also do not notify ICE about the release of those illegal aliens back into the community. That is a fact. This is an absolute fact. So the reason, this police chief is full of excrement.
Starting point is 01:06:35 He's one of the reasons why we don't say back the blue universally. He's lying to you because he's refusing to tell you, by the way, our offices, we have an established policy in Minneapolis where we refuse ICE detainer requests, and we also don't notify anybody in DHS or ICE whenever we release any of these violent criminal aliens. That is why they're there. Everyone seems to be ignoring this fact. The whole reason they are there in the streets doing this is because of that. They do not in Hennepin County at all notify ICE whenever any illegal aliens are released from the county jail. They do not at all acknowledge ICE detainer requests, and they have not since they adopted their policy in 2021.
Starting point is 01:07:33 This is why ICE had to go there. Because these lawmakers and these people, this politically appointed police chief, appointed by the lefty mayor, not elected by the people, this police chief, goes along with it. they don't do their job they don't work with ice so ice has to go there all of these people that you're hearing have all contributed into creating this problem this is ridiculous i'm so tired of hearing it well i can't believe they're here now do you know that this is not every democrat city there are some democrat cities where they have been working with ice not every Democrat leader or every Democrat city has been ignoring these ICE requests, but all of the cities where ICE has to go in order to enforce this are Democrat-run cities that have ignored ICE requests. That's why they're there. I mean, hell, you don't even have
Starting point is 01:08:39 this in Dallas. Do you know why you don't have this in Dallas? Because at least the law elected officials in Dallas have been acknowledging and have been working with ICE. Dallas is lefty. So they can't say this. They don't tell you this because they want you to think that these people are jackbooted thugs. No, they had to go there because they weren't getting any answers. You would have people, you have crimes against American citizens that these Democrat elected officials actually work to help cover up because they refuse to work with DHS and ICE on this. You have people here, and in fact, that's one of these cases, one of these individuals who have has been repeatedly convicted of sexual assault, one brutal rape, there's another case charged
Starting point is 01:09:25 with rape here. They were ignoring the ICE detainer request. I mean, this is the stuff that they're doing. We have more on the way. It's his life mission to make bad decisions. It's time for Florida man. I am never, ever at all surprised at all of the creative ways that Some of these people that come up in these headlines, the things that they use as weapons. A teenager was arrested for battery because she struck her mother with a pork chop. It's true story. Jensen Beach, Florida. Teenage girl was arrested.
Starting point is 01:10:03 This is Local Channel 12 for battery after she struck her mother with a pork chop during an argument. 18-year-old Farah Kernan slapped her mother across her face with her right hand. And apparently it was recorded by one of her mother's friends. I don't know what in the world. And then she threw a pork chop at her. The responding deputy said he observed, quote, food residue on her shoulder that was consistent with the story. And they took the teenager into custody. So now she'll have an assault and battery charge with a pork chop of all things.
Starting point is 01:10:38 Why are you going to be doing perfectly good meat that way? I don't know, but that's what happened. This is crazy. Also, this, uh, tant, tant, da, we've, got this Florida man who was accused of driving a car on fire. He was arrested on DUI charges. This is WESH Channel 2. His car was literally on fire. Oh, he's got a sweet mullet. The guy's got a sweet mullet. Brevard County Sheriff's Office. He was arrested on charges in DUI on Friday. Patrick Rinaldi 60 was driving under the influence. He refused to submit to DUI testing.
Starting point is 01:11:15 Apparently, witnesses said that he had stopped the car in the middle of the road, then got back in the vehicle, began driving. There was smoke coming out of the car. Flames started taking over the vehicle. Brevard County Fire rescues had to respond. They thought they were, apparently, they had to put out a brush fire that kicked off after the burning vehicle ignited that as well. So there, they, he smelled like alcohol. He said he had one beer and just one beer, but they found apparently lots of bottles of liquor on the floorboard of the car. So that was kind of a clue that it was maybe more than one beer. So he was taken into custody. Good heavens. I mean, I can't believe he was driving it while flames were consuming it.
Starting point is 01:11:54 That's like some planes, trains, and automobile stuff. We have more on the way. Our third hour is upcoming. And now Democrats are trying to make Minneapolis all about the government shutdown now. We'll explain. Stay with us. Welcome back to the program. Top of this third hour in an iced down, Texas. So audio today, no video simulcast, because I wasn't going to have the guys risk their lives to come through and get video up because there's an inch and a half of ice on the ground everywhere. So welcome back. You know, I got to tell you, I saw video, I pulled this up, of Caroline Levitt just had press avail and had made mention of the Alex Pretty case in Minnesota. And this is the only messaging that the White House should have on this, Steve, if we're able to play this. This is the only messaging that the White House should have on this
Starting point is 01:12:53 right now. Listen, let's be clear about the circumstances which led to that moment on Saturday. This tragedy occurred as a result of a deliberate and hostile resistance by Democrat leaders in Minnesota. For weeks, Governor Waltz and the mayor Jacob Fry and other elected Democrats were spreading lies about federal law enforcement officers who are risking their lives daily to remove the worst criminal illegal aliens from our streets, murderers, rapists, pedophiles, human traffickers, and gang members. Governor Walts and Mayor Frye have shamefully blocked local and state police from cooperating with ICE, actively inhibiting efforts to arrest violent criminals. They have also used their platforms to
Starting point is 01:13:38 encourage left-wing agitators to stock, record, confront, and obstruct federal officers who are just trying to lawfully perform their duty. which has created dangerous situations threatening both these officers and the general public and Minnesotans alike. This is precisely what unfolded in Minneapolis on Saturday morning. And that's really, that is the only messaging that the White House needs to have on this. I don't want to see Cash Patel. I don't want to see Scott Besson. I don't want to see Christine Noam or anybody else go out with any other, any messaging other than just
Starting point is 01:14:17 that what she just said because that's the truth of it. That's why this whole situation has unfolded is because you have law enforcement, you have elected officials in Minnesota. Not only have they had they given stand-on orders, but they're also, they've been ignoring, I mean, it's been their policy since 2021 to ignore ICE detainer requests. So these violent criminals, the ones that they're going after, those, that's, that's, one of the reasons why there's so many in Minnesota, it's a safe space for them. It's a sanctuary state where since 2021 it has been established policy to ignore detainer requests. They do not at all whatsoever communicate with ICE. They do not. They don't even notify ICE when a dangerous
Starting point is 01:15:06 illegal alien has been released from their county jail. That's also part of their policy. So, yeah, that's why ICE went there. That is what happened. This is what Tim Walz and Jacob Frye and all of these people have created. They created a place where violent criminals who are in the country illegally go to hide out because they know that local law enforcement isn't going to do anything. They know that elected officials
Starting point is 01:15:29 aren't going to do anything. So ICE shows up. And then the left decides to get these street activists and use them as human fodder, much like Hamas does, use them as human fodder to try to obstruct the federal op on this. that's what happened.
Starting point is 01:15:49 That's not a Second Amendment issue. They're trying to make it one because they want to divide the right and make it think, make you, these people who by the way would have had Alex Preti be a felon for what he carries up until Saturday. These people want to weaponize it and they want to further divide the right by making it seem like the two-a community isn't even all on the same page. This is nonsense. Do not take overtures on narratives from these people. do not there's no point so we'll see but i will say one of the things democrats are now looking to do is they want to make this about shutdown they want to try to tie up immigration funding into this and i don't know i the whole point that just this is this crazy you've had particularly adam schiff this is cut 15 he says that they're not they want to defund ice
Starting point is 01:16:47 They're talking about defunding all of this, not having any kind of operation where we go after violent criminal illegal aliens. Listen to this. Cut 15. If Democrats vote against this DHS funding measure, my question for you, Senator, are you prepared to vote against DHS funding if it means partially shutting down the government? Again, coming on the heels of an incredibly long shutdown. Well, I'm not giving ICE or Border Patrol another dime. Of course he's not. Of course he's not. But they never, they just, they're looking for an excuse. They're looking for an excuse to not pass any kind of legislation. They don't want to give, they don't want to give the administration any kind of a win at all whatsoever.
Starting point is 01:17:36 They don't want any kind of a win. So they're using this as an excuse. That's all this is. They don't care about any of this stuff. They're using it as an excuse. So we're going to end up, we're going to be probably, I mean, even Trump said over the weekend that we're probably going to have another shutdown. That's what probably will end up happening. And then all of this still is continuing completely in Minneapolis, completely in Minnesota, and they're just going to keep it going. Just craziness. This is lawlessness and disorder. You know, I was on CBS earlier today. I've been going since very early this morning. And I was amazed at what, you know, the host was thinking was tyrannical. He was classifying the enforcement of immigration laws somehow being tyrannical.
Starting point is 01:18:32 You know, these masked ICE agents. Well, why do you think that they're masked for? Well, probably because they've had the public doxing them, following them, endangering the safety of their own families. But is it tyrannical to enforce immigration law, existing immigration law? Is it tyrannical to allow people who are violent, dangerous, repeat offenders to run around on the streets and continue to offend, especially when the offenses are things like assault, murder, rape, child predation? That's kind of a big question. is that tyranny to allow those people to run loose on the streets, terrorizing their communities?
Starting point is 01:19:19 Because that's what's being described here. I can't believe that people are defending would actually jeopardize their own lives to defend violent criminal illegal aliens. And I wasn't joking. I didn't know when I was reading the names off of all of these last week. I wasn't cherry picking. I wasn't going in there and only looking at the worst. I mean, it would have been far more difficult to try to pick out the least, the criminals with the least offenses and the maybe perhaps most minor offenses. That would have been difficult.
Starting point is 01:19:59 But this is goofy. I mean, it's just, they really want to make this a flashpoint. And I think the administration is moving. to sour that, to at least stop that, should be. But what's more, and this is something that I think that they're going to be looking into, is the depth of organization for this stuff, right? You know, when I was looking at the videos of this Alex, the Alex Preddy, one of the videos, there's a video that was released.
Starting point is 01:20:36 I think it was late last night. It's him in the street directing traffic. And this is apparently a little bit before the video showing the engagement that we've all seen. He was filming Border Patrol agents who were trying to set up a perimeter for their operation. And they were trying to get people who kept impeding them out of the way. And that when Preddy chose to insert himself, into this federal operation by telling traffic to drive
Starting point is 01:21:19 into the ice perimeter that these agents were trying to establish. That makes everything far more dangerous. And then, and you can say that he didn't get rough or do anything, but there literally is, the video suggests that as one federal agent is trying to arrest a female rioter. Alex Pretty is seen at least in one still,
Starting point is 01:21:48 I mean, as suggested by the shaky garbage video, of putting his hands on a federal agent. Now, you do that and that changes things dramatically. Changes stuff very quickly. Makes it far more dangerous, especially when you choose to carry. Now, I think it's just as important to assess what happened in those brief seconds that he was being detained by law enforcement
Starting point is 01:22:21 before the shot that took his life, just as much as it is, to analyze what was happening in the lead-up to this. I think it's all very fair to ask. Those are very fair questions. And hopefully we'll get some answers from this. But the bottom line is that this guy chose, He chose something very differently than what other than I have done ever at a protest when I was carrying.
Starting point is 01:22:51 I never involved myself in a federal operation. He chose even very differently. I would say than Kyle Rittenhouse. I've seen a lot of those comparisons six years ago. Rittenhouse was attacked. He defended himself and then later when law enforcement and then turned turned himself into law enforcement. But there was a lot of chaos in this video. And at one point, like one of the agency.
Starting point is 01:23:16 gun, I heard gun gun, gun, and I'm assuming that that's when they saw that he had a holstered sidearm. And then I don't know what happened, and this is where the investigation needs to play out. Did they think that he had gotten it? Do they know that he had been disarmed, essentially? And if they saw one second that he had a gun holstered, and then they said, saw that the gun was unholstered and that the gun was not in the holster and they had no idea that maybe another agent had taken it would they assume that maybe pretty in that scrum that they were having where he was covered by like five other guys did they assume that he had a hold of it i mean that's the big question and that they have to do they do they believe that there was a legitimate
Starting point is 01:24:14 threat that they were, that's what the investigation has to will out. I mean, there's a lot of things. I don't know. I've heard people, some say, oh, well, maybe did it, you know, it was a sick. It was a, did it accidentally discharge? I'm not even going to entertain that narrative without knowing anything that we do. I just feel like it's fruitless and silly. It's fruitless and silly. But I don't know. It's, um, the people who have, antagonized everybody to get to this level bear a lot of responsibility for this we have a lot more to touch on and now all of the news you would probably miss it's time for dana's quick five i read that something like 20 000 flights have been canceled since the weekend because of the storm and something
Starting point is 01:25:10 like on sunday alone it was it was like over like there were like 11000 flights canceled on sundial day alone. That is a lot. And the transportation secretary was saying it was going to be probably around the end of the week before everything is kind of normalized at that point. So my heavens, yeah, it's over 20,000. That's some of the latest numbers for this. Good night. Let's see. A couple of others. This, oh, Alaska student arrested for eating an AI art exhibit. This is interesting. I don't even know what this is about. How do you eat an AI art exhibit? I don't even understand what that just apparently a guy.
Starting point is 01:25:54 I mean, apparently there were an art exhibit where there were about 160 images on the wall and this guy literally physically ate these AI generated images. And the, I have no. Okay. Well, that's something I haven't heard of before. Oh, let's see. Also, a couple of other things to touch on. They're saying that colon cancer specifically.
Starting point is 01:26:18 Colon cancer is now the top killer for Americans under the age of 50. According to the latest data, you knew that it was going to be an explosive epidemic. It is by far number one. And it's claimed the spot seven years earlier than it was previously anticipated, which I think indicates quite a lot about how quickly this is growing and spreading and good heavens. also a couple of other things we're going to make sure that we hit we also oh goodness Kanye West took out a full page ad in Wall Street Journal apologizing for apparently being anti-Semitic he literally has a song called Heil Hitler I don't I don't understand what that
Starting point is 01:27:03 means but okay yeah but he's apologized a full page ad which didn't come cheap in the Wall Street Journal where he attributes the the I don't don't know, his lack of reason from 2002 car crash. He said, apparently that's, it's from that. I don't know. A couple of other things. Let's see. We've also, China's top general accused of giving nuclear secrets, giving away nuclear secrets, but to the U.S. bribery allegations against one palace intrigue. Very interesting. Stick with us. brighten up your timely news consumption with a Dana Show podcast where every update comes with a little dash of not so serious on YouTube, Apple, or wherever you get your podcasts. In one city, we have this outrage and this powder cake happening and it's not right and it doesn't happen anywhere else.
Starting point is 01:28:01 And it's simply because of one reason. And that's leadership in that state. When there was all the focus on the billions and billions of dollars in fraud happening in many. Minneapolis, suddenly, suddenly Minneapolis becomes a powder cake. And the people that caused that to happen were the governor, the mayor, the Attorney General, Omar, they're the ones that incited rhetoric, encouraged these rioters to go with their cell phones, not to peacefully protest, not to peacefully protest, but to go out and do exactly what was happening on Saturday morning.
Starting point is 01:28:32 And so there was a powder cake, and it was absolutely lit by the... Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche. who said that it's very weird that all of this decided to kick off right as everyone was looking at this massive fraud in Minnesota, that it all kicked off, everything else kicked off right there like that. That is very interesting, I think. Very telling. Welcome back to the program, Dana Lash, with you. No, it's all very telling, I think. And that's exactly true what happened. You had all of this fraud, and then you had these individuals, now they started to kick all this off.
Starting point is 01:29:15 So really is a way to, they're trying to, in any way possible. They're trying to distract from the massive, multi, hundreds of billions of dollars of taxpayer fraud. And that's it. A few other things. I told you that POTUS apparently
Starting point is 01:29:34 has been talking to Tim Walz. He's sending Tom Homan to Minnesota. And Tom Homan's going to report directly to the president. not Noam. Very interesting. Bill Mullugent first reported this yesterday evening, where apparently a lot of immigration agents had expressed frustration with the way the DHS handled a lot of this stuff.
Starting point is 01:29:57 Now, I'll have you know if you don't think that it's merited, No one was the one who went out and said first and put the idea out there that it was somehow illegal to ever carry, even at a protest, and also said the word brandishing, was saying that the individual that Alex Pready was brandishing, which the video doesn't suggest that. That undermines all of the good things that you're doing when you get out ahead of your skis like this.
Starting point is 01:30:26 When you use bad language, you are undermining all of the good work that you've done. You're taking attention away from the violent repeat offenders that are here in the country illegally. You're not shining light on their crimes. You're having to clean up a mess that was made because of rhetoric. So I don't know if that's why he's sending Holman, who's going to directly report to him, not quite sure if that's why he's sending him or not, as opposed to Noam, but he's sending
Starting point is 01:30:51 Holman. And Holman's going to report directly to POTUS. Now, I've seen a couple of things and where they've been trying to get around the very real fact of the ICE detainer, ignoring ICE detainers. Tim Walz, they put out there that he had a productive call with POTUS and was discussing that, you know, talking about reducing the number of agents and, you know, helping to apprehend these illegal aliens. But he was also giving the suggestion that somehow his prisons and Bill Malugian made this note honor ICE detainers by transferring the criminal repeat illegal aliens. after they convicted criminal aliens after they serve their sentence. But the problem is that his city and county jails do not. ICE does not want these people to be just released into the streets. And the crazy thing is that Minnesota is worse than California and acknowledging these detainer requests.
Starting point is 01:32:01 That's what's crazy. So they're having this brawl over the city jails and the, county jails. They're not having this brawl over state prisons. And Walses is trying to conflate all of that so he doesn't have to answer us for why his sitting in county jails have been ignoring ICE detainer requests since they established it first in 20 of 21. So don't be misled on that stuff. I feel like they're really trying to gaslight people on this. Just and be careful of some of these other, just some of the other videos. I've already seen AI slop going around where there's supposed to be an image of pretty being shot and the agent that's right behind him
Starting point is 01:32:43 doesn't have a head and he's got like seven fingers on one hand oh my gosh let's not let's not start sharing a it doesn't help when you have official accounts that share it but let's not share the AI slop because that's just the worst of the let's just let's just not do that goodness we have a million other things to deal with adding that on and again all that stuff undermines the work that they're doing you know they have a training manual, by the way, for all these people that have been chasing ice agents in Minneapolis. They have a whole training manual. Kim Higby was able to get his hands on all of it.
Starting point is 01:33:20 They walk people through how to obstruct. They, and this is the far left like Marxist kind of group of it. They have a whole, they have plans. They have a database where they've been putting in every license plate that they think even kind of remotely might be ice. they've been saving or amenable to ICE, I think. They've been saving their license plate numbers. This is crazy. This is what they're doing there.
Starting point is 01:33:46 Where are Democrats saying, you guys need to stop? You guys need to comply with these violent illegal aliens being detained. Just stop. Why is it that people like Josh Shapiro can go along with it, but people like Tim Walts can't? A million dollar question. They need the distraction. They're going to let this go on for as long as possible, so long as they can dodge it, accountability from that multi hundreds of billions of dollars fraud story. That's the whole purpose of this,
Starting point is 01:34:12 is they want to dodge accountability and they will literally get people killed in the process. They will get them killed in the process, absolutely. No accountability for these people. You know, they've established, remember Chas Chop? Chas Chop had, I don't know, like they were trying to say that it was an autonomous zone. And do you remember that they had a portion, actually it was like a big intersection, completely cordoned off with like plywood and the traffic barrels and they weren't allowing anybody in. Well, now they're apparently they're doing it in Minneapolis. They've established a new autonomous zone where they've said law enforcement is not allowed and it's all very, very well funded. They did the
Starting point is 01:35:00 perimeter in the same way. And they have all these, the other thing is they have tons of supplies is that fall through that go through there? Dustin, Grange had actually taken some video. They had free winter gear, hand warmers, food, coffee, all of that, like tons of it brought in. How was that being funded? It's like several blocks. Now, the people who live in their so-called autonomous zone, the rioters there in Minneapolis have been barring them from getting back into their homes. So if they come back from work and they're trying to just to get home and they happen to live within that multi-block radio, where these people, these violent writers, have set up this autonomous zone in Minneapolis, they don't let them back into their houses. They will not let them back through. That's insane. So you're being arrested, which basically is like kidnapping by people who are trying to claim that they're the victims.
Starting point is 01:35:54 This is a well-funded insurrection. If you want to call it what it is, here's an actual insurrection. organizing and having a well-funded operation to go and obstruct impede law enforcement action. That's what it's all about. So yeah, this is, some people were saying that the autonomous zone that they've established in Minneapolis looks identical to the Chaz Chop. Remember Chas stood for Capitol Hill Autonomous. anonymous zone. Chaz. It was
Starting point is 01:36:36 Chop and they changed it to Chas and I can't remember what Chop stood for. So remember Chaz had murders and all kinds of stuff. They had a SoundCloud warlord who was giving everybody guns out of his trunk and these people had no idea how to use them. Everybody had their fingers on the trigger and it was just a disaster waiting to happen. It's a well organized and they're going to do this. I wouldn't doubt Democrats are probably using some of our taxpayer dollars in the Somali front to pay this stuff.
Starting point is 01:37:02 How much you want to bet? I wouldn't doubt it for one second. Feels like that's exactly what they're doing with this. So they have this autonomous zone. So not only they've been doxing citizens and stopping people to ask for their papers, they have it cordoned off. And there's already graffiti everywhere, trash. Like, how is it?
Starting point is 01:37:24 It's been a day. And already it looks like a hellhole. Why? These people destroy things so fast. They're like the plague. It's like one of the plagues. legs of Egypt. That's how fast they destroy the stuff. Yeah, there's already graffiti, and of course, the graffiti vandalizing private property, things like that. They also have armed guards at the,
Starting point is 01:37:44 at the new Chas. They're in Minneapolis. Apparently, they have new armed guards. They said that they're guarding the autonomous zone. One of them identified as Comrade Loon, which is the Minnesota state bird. Oh, and hey, guess whose faces are covered and all that stuff? Yeah, those are guys are yeah their faces are covered they kind of had one in atlanta when rayshar brooks was killed they had uh kind of a chas thing but it wasn't anything like what was in like i think portland so they're having they're going to have their own little autonomous zone here it's well organized it's well funded and it's all about obstruction it's all about impeding this has nothing to do with the second amendment This has everything to do with people's reckless disregards for human life and their willingness to coddle violent criminals at the expense of the innocent.
Starting point is 01:38:42 That's the truly sad thing. So I don't know. I mean, I don't know how long they think they're going to be able to keep this going. Because at some point, they think they're going to take this all the way to the battle over the budget so that they can get a shutdown. because now they want to have a reason for not voting and giving the administration any kind of perception of a win. So they'll use this as the agitator to get support for it. Instead of making the case themselves, they're just going to use this stuff as a way to get support, to pass as support. I mean, hey, if it's zealous, if it's zealitary around a particular variable,
Starting point is 01:39:22 I mean, you could use that energy to advocate for, you know, your control. I mean, that's, that's the whole purpose of this. On the go and need a quick news fix with a fun twist. Follow Dana's absurd truth podcast for bite-size informative episodes, perfect for your busy schedule on Apple or wherever you get your podcast. So Kanye West comes out and he has a like full page ad in the Wall Street Journal where he says he's sorry for his anti-Semitic comments. And I still have questions. I think it's obvious that he has mental issues and he also did major damage
Starting point is 01:40:06 in trying to mainstream some of this stuff and he kept doing it while people were telling him that it was wrong and he shouldn't do it. I don't know, I feel like, because he said he came out with a good gospel album. It was a really good album. And then he like turned his, like did a 180 on that. now he's doing a 180 again.
Starting point is 01:40:29 I just don't know. Like, is this all like a PR stunt? And he just does this because he's got like another album coming out. I mean, he literally has a song called the Heil Hiller. He actually has a song that says this in the chorus, like repeatedly. I mean, I just feel like people, he says, he says this because he's bipolar and he was like in an accident in 2002 or something
Starting point is 01:40:55 like that. I don't know. It just seems like he's always pivoted on a dime on a lot of this stuff. Like after he did the Christian album, then he just, then he pivoted, and then it was just crazy, and then he pivoted again. I don't know. I mean, who's to say he's not going to go right back to doing this in another week? And I don't know if it's because he's reacting to those Nazi twinks that were playing his song into club.
Starting point is 01:41:23 I don't know, like over and over again. I don't know if it's that or what, but I don't know. It's just so weird. I don't know if I just believe it. know. I'm not quite sure. But regardless, ugh, still. Now, Trump and Walsh have been talking. Walsh says that the police are going to be, that they're going to be investigating the shooting that took place on Saturday. I think Walsh is trying to get ahead of POTUS on what the call was about and what to expect. Because the media came out like, oh, Trump's wanting to get, you know,
Starting point is 01:42:03 ahead on this, et cetera. You don't think so. It looks like it's Waltz that's trying to because he apparently reached out to POTUS. And maybe, I don't know, it sounds like they had a nice discussion. The bottom line is that Democrats need to stop encouraging their citizens to go out on the street and do this stuff. It's insane. They have got to stop. And the media has to stop. How helping them. Remember, they came out with this whole entire fake story about a five-year-old kid that ended up, as it was discovered, was abandoned by both his parents, apparently, not just his illegal alien dad, but also his illegal alien mother. There's a, you know, there's a big, big thing here. So all of the misrepresentations that they have been a part of, this all has to
Starting point is 01:42:56 stop. All of this stuff has to stop. It just has to stop. Because this is going to keep getting worse and worse.
