Good Monday morning.
That should be, we should do a new jingle for Monday morning.
It's like, it's Monday for your morning and the dating detectives.
Right?
No.
Okay, we're done.
I think I might hire songfins to do that.
Oh, yeah, songfins.
I like them.
Let's cut out that part where I was singing.
Hi, you guys.
Hi, everyone.
We have a guest today.
Listen, I love this guest.
She's so beautiful.
She's so kind.
I love the way that she shares her story with us.
Like I'm really excited to share this episode with you guys.
And I'm like, I think you'll really like her too.
I wanted to hang out with her more.
I still do.
Well, Anne, it was, this is, we recorded this episode when I was in L.A.
So we got to sit with her like in chairs, like actually in the same room together.
And I think that that was really cool.
I really enjoyed that.
Yeah, we'll definitely try to post some BTS stuff and video, obviously, on social.
But Patreon, join our Patreon for.
some extras. We've been posting deleted scenes. If you want more Patreon, there's two extra
episodes a month and some deleted parts of a story, which we will always let you know about. Also,
when we do investigations into stories, such as like the only fans pimped from back in the day,
the Bitcoin boyfriend, we sometimes will put updates in Patreon until we have a big, big update.
We will always share that with everyone. But in this case, yeah, and it's only, it's only $5,
month. And we're, we are just so grateful for our Patreoners because we just, first of all,
we enjoy the connection with them and doing our lives and they show, they show up and connect with
us and we get to chat with them like real time. It's, it's awesome. Yeah. And in this story,
we'll tell you at the end more, but there may or may not be some McKenzie digging investigative
elements that we did for, for Jenna.
Mm-hmm. So also just a little disclaimer. We anonymize all of our stories. So some details of
this story have been changed or anonymized to protect everyone involved.
Let's get into it.
Let's do it.
We have a beautiful guest with us, and will you please introduce yourself to our audience
and tell us your story?
Oh, we need all the same.
Why are you here?
Hello, I'm Jenna Jean.
I'm here because...
You've been through it?
Yeah, I'm like, how do you explain it in one sentence?
We'll get into it.
We have a whole podcast.
How do you want to start?
Yeah.
So take your time.
But thank you for being here. You're adorable.
Thank you so much for having me.
I love being in this girl energy.
Yes.
It's fun.
Sleigh.
Sleth.
Shall we?
Get into it?
Okay.
Strap the fuck in.
Okay.
So, I met Aiden.
In 2021, after a terrible year of COVID, I decided to move to Hawaii to find some refuge.
Love that.
Yep.
And I get on a dating app for the first time ever.
And I see like literally my dream boy.
Oh.
Like blonde hair, blue eyes, body chiseled from God himself.
Okay.
So we match.
So I try to find him on social media after we match.
Can't find him anywhere.
Not even on LinkedIn.
No, I don't.
We don't love that.
I'm a corporate girl.
I'm going on LinkedIn.
Can't find him.
So I actually think he's like a fan.
or a catfish or something. I was like, there's no way someone is this hot, right? And it's an
Abercombe model that they're using pictures. Yeah, exactly. That's what I thought. So, but we start
talking and then actually, after a few days, I left him on red. I ghosted him. And then
you were only talking in the app? Yeah, just like texting. And then he messages back like,
did I scare you away or something? And I'm like, I honestly think you're a catfish or something
like that. And he was like, okay, sends me pictures of him. I'm still like, you could have gotten
these off the day. Yeah, yeah. Exactly. Thank you. But we do decide to set up a first date because,
like, I'm here for the plot. I don't give him my address because I still don't know. Yeah.
Don't ever do that. I just give him like a street close by. Yeah. And I have my roommate walk me
to his car because I'm like, if we need to make a getaway, you're here with me. This is smart. I like
it. Thank you. That's maybe the only smart decision. I mean. Oh, boy. Buckle up. So we meet him,
not a cavish, at least with looks. We're like, let's go. I get in his car and we go to our first date
destination, which is a hike on the North Shore, which is an hour away from where I live. So we have
an hour drive to this hike and then there's traffic too. So we're in the car for like two hours at the
beginning of our first date, which is a lot. Was there good conversation? That is a lot. So when I came into
the car, I saw a camo hat. I was like, oh, he must be in the military because so far in Hawaii,
I've just met so many people in the military because there's a base there. Right. So I ask,
what do you do for work? It's literally the first question I asked him, because I see that hat right
away. And he says, no hesitation. I'm an FBI agent. What? Oh, okay.
I feel like are they allowed?
I guess FBI agents can tell that they're FBI agents.
But it feels like something that they don't...
That's CIA, I think.
CIA is like more secret.
A CIA, you can tell people you're in a...
I don't really know.
Okay, so...
I'm glad this is your response.
Because I also was like...
The fuck?
Yeah, I'm like, oh, I've seen like TV shows about that, but I don't know anything.
Thank you for saying that because what I said was, okay, agent Cody Bain?
Oh my gosh.
I thought he was joking.
Do you remember that?
That's that.
Frankie you did.
Okay, agent, Cody.
So what was his response to that?
He's dead ass.
He's dead ass serious, but I'm still popping off.
I'm like, now, compare your job to Spy Kids, the movie.
Like, I'm just, I think he's fucking kidding.
I think he's joking, right?
Right.
He's not.
He's like, he's like Spy Kids was an insult to my profession.
He's like, this is a very serious job.
And I'm like, okay.
Okay.
Sorry.
Okay, Cody Bing.
Let me just real back.
Real quick.
You're literally never.
And so that was my reaction. I'm just like shocked. I've never met anyone who works for the FBI for the CIA,
anything. And I'm just like, I'm shook. And I'm just fueling him because I'm so interested in this.
And so I'm just like trying to ask a bunch of questions, but he's super vague and just like,
like he won't tell me much. And then I realized, oh, he can't tell me much about this job. So,
yeah, then we get to know each other. So then we start asking about each other's family. We're still getting to
know each other. And this is where it starts getting just deep. Okay. Because we have two hours to kill.
Yeah. And I start talking about his family. And he starts just deep diving into his family. And he's just
like opening up to me and it's fascinating. I'm very open as well. So I'm sharing things with him too.
And I'm just like, wow, so nice to meet someone who's so vulnerable and honest and open and raw.
And skipping this small talk and like, let's get deep. I love that shit. That's great. Tell me all your
secrets. You know? I'm in.
Then we get to the hike finally after two hours and he takes off his shirt because we're going to a waterfall.
I'm like, so you're not a catfish in any way.
I'm like, one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, counting the abs.
Like, woo, he's hot.
It's getting hot.
Out here.
Yeah, he's hot.
He's so hot.
It was like also a three hour hike.
So we're like five hours in by the time we get to the waterfall and just more deep chats, super deep.
Like we've talked about everything at this point.
And then we get to the waterfall. Again, no one's there. It's so romantic. And I'm like new to Hawaii. So everything is just so exciting to me. And he's lived in Hawaii for five years. And so he can be my tour guide. He can already show me these amazing places. I'm already like, yes, I love this. I want date too. You know what I mean? I'm very into it. So we jump into the waterfall. We're swimming. It's so cute. I'm breezing like my lips are turning blue. And he's hugging me. He's warming me up.
And then I get dirt and mud like all over me.
So I have mud all over me.
I go back into the water to wash it off.
And he's like sitting on a rock by the water.
And I'm just like-
Like a fucking merman.
Okay.
I'm looking down on my legs.
And I look up at him and he's looking at me.
And I wrote him my diary later.
I was like, no one has ever looked at me like that in my life.
Oh, okay.
It was like, I actually stopped dead of my tracks. I'm like, watching my legs and I look up and I'm like, ah, like it's just singing.
Like, it was like sexy, right? Like, like, holy count. Like, like, I fucking love you. Like the look in his eyes, I was like, what is that? Like, I was like, like, my heart is beating right now thinking of it. I immediately walked over and kissed him.
Because I was like, I want to be looked at like that all the time. Great kisser. Of course. It's great. It's so romantic too. We're the only people. Should we turn the A-C?
You're in here? This is like, I'm like, oh my God, I want this story to just end like a rom-com.
Me too. So that concludes the hike. We walk back again, like three-hour hike. We've really gotten to know each other at this point. And that was supposed to be the end of the date. And then we're like, no, let's keep going. He's like, let's go to dinner. He takes me to a really nice dinner spot. When we drive to the dinner spot, he pulls like backs into his parking spot. It's like, okay.
Unnecessary. And so I make a comment. I'm like, trying to impress me with your backing up skills. Like, just giving him shit. And he was like, oh, I'll always back into my car parking spot so we have a fast getaway. And I was just like, from the restaurant?
What's the story there? Who are we going to see in this restaurant? Like, I'm scared. Then he gets out of the car and leaves his keys in the ignition. And I was like, you left your keys in. He's like, yep.
what that's on purpose i'm like what he's like we need a fast getaway i always leave my keys in the car
a fast getaway from what does he know how cars work that's like i'm like you want a fast getaway
you're going to need your damn car yeah you're going to need your keys but it's hawaii it's super
safe he was like i've lived here for five years i've left my keys in the ignition every single
day and so i'm just like all right i was just i thought that was weird we get into dinner and then he
make sure that he's watching the door.
Yeah.
Yeah, because he's going to be able to catch the truck if someone gets in a drive-to-way.
Well, to be fair, I am the same way.
Like, head on a swivel.
That is one thing you can do to be safe is to back into the space.
I've learned that as a PI, though, because they'll try to block you in if you could
bust it, whatever.
So, but he's, what is he getting away from this fella?
It's fine.
Anyways, go ahead.
But what I realized it was doing was, like, making me feel safe.
He's like, let me sit here so I can watch the door and let me back into this parking
spot.
So we have a fast getaway.
I'm like, that makes me feel safe.
but also why the fuck do I get away from this restaurant?
Yeah.
I'm scared.
Yeah.
So it's like instilling fear and safety at the same time.
That's a mind fuck right there.
I feel like his FBI thing though would I would be like, well, maybe he's, you know,
I don't know what he's seen.
Like I get if he's a paranoid person and this is like how you're a PI, it's like I get
where you're coming from.
It made total sense.
I mean, I didn't think it was weird or anything.
Like it made total sense.
Yeah.
I thought the keys in the emotion was weird.
It's a little weird. I mean, that's a little weird, but it's fine. So he pays, he seems like literally my dream guy. And then he takes me home. I actually tell him my house. I trust him at this point. And he drops me off and he gets out of the car and kisses me and sends me on my lovely way.
Okay. Gentleman. Nice. Yeah. Doesn't try to come in or anything. I like that. We love him. So obviously we start texting every single day. He starts sending me a song every morning. That's like how I wake up now. A beautiful song.
they're all such great lyrics. They're like love songs. Oh my goodness. I love song every day. I can't
decide if I love that or if it's love. Well, it's what we're going to find out, I'm sure. Yeah.
We were just like texting all day and like very quickly set up date two. So for date two,
he comes over to my house and we make cocktails at my house. Like within days? Oh yeah.
Okay. Yeah. And he meets my roommate again. And,
she's like, so what do you do for work? And he's like, I work for the government.
Okay. And then quickly changes the subject. And so that's the start of when I realize he never
will tell anyone else he works for the FBI. But he told you and he didn't tell you like,
don't tell anyone. Yep. So I asked him later on like, how come you have not told a single person
that we've met together that you work for the FBI? And you told me literally question one on date one.
and he was like, it's part of my job to read people, and I just knew I could trust you.
I knew I could trust you right away.
I didn't question this because I'm like, yeah, I'm a fucking trustworthy person.
I'm like such an honest person.
So I was just like, oh, you're good at reading people.
Thank you.
Okay.
Good job, fella.
Good job, Cody Banks.
So that's what we should call him actually.
He's Cody.
Yeah, Cody Banks.
Yeah.
But Aiden, right?
Aiden.
Okay.
So for a date number two, after we made cocktails, he takes me to the,
nicest steakhouse in my area.
Okay, nice. And we do a little surf and turf action. I'm talking lobster. Date 2. Let's go.
We've got abs. We've got lobster. Like, what else do you need? Honestly.
I like it. And really great, really great second date. And then I go to the bathroom after
dinner. I come back and the mood has like shifted. And he's like, so what are you looking for?
What are we? Like literally. Wow. Second date. Yeah. Yeah. And I'm like,
makes sense because remember he looked at me like he loved me on date one. Like this guy loves me. I'm convinced
at this point. And so there's my ego. And it's confidence. Yeah, there's my confidence. And I'm like,
okay, so this is where I tell him about my ex-boyfriend. So I just got out of a relationship right before I
moved to Hawaii. And so I tell him that. Like, I just got out of a relationship at this point. It was
two months ago. Wow. Yeah. So,
With my ex-boyfriend, we were on and off. And so exactly, it was complicated, right? It was on and off,
on and off. We were still actually talking because we're so used to this on and off, on and off. Like,
is it really off? So I said that to him. Like, I'm still kind of figuring that out. I just got out of that
relationship two months ago. I just moved to Hawaii. I'm not really looking for anything serious.
I do really like you. Obviously, I'm looking to date because I was on a dating app. But, like,
also, this is date two. Chill the fuck out. I didn't say that. But, but.
I'm like, whatever. I'm good. I was honest. I told you where I am at.
So then he comes home with me. Yes, it's a date two. Get over it. No judgment.
And we are, I'm saying it for the other people. We are grownups. Yeah. I do what I want.
Grown ass adults. And it was time to get my hands on those abs. So we're just making out. Okay, actually, I wasn't going to do anything else. But before I even said anything, I didn't have to because he was being so respectful and such a gentleman. But before I even said anything, he was like, hey,
I just don't want to move too fast.
Isn't that so hot?
Okay.
And I'm like, okay, now I want to do it.
Exactly.
That's exactly what is.
You're like, okay, I respect that.
You're like, now I kind of want to do it.
Bang me.
She said bang me.
Yeah, it is reverse psychology.
Bang me like a screen door to hurricane.
I'm like, this guy's so respectful.
He's such a gentleman.
He really likes me.
And so we just end up having a sleepover.
Like innocent. And we cuddle all night long. In the morning we wake up. I have like barely any furniture. I have one plant. A cactus. He knocks it over in the morning. And there's dirt all over my floor. And I don't have a vacuum. I just moved in two months ago. Okay, yeah, I should probably have a vacuum at this point. But I don't. And he's like, I'm so sorry. I got to go. Like it's 6 a.m. And he's like, I, you know, I have a very strict schedule. I'm so sorry.
out without telling you?
No, no, we woke up.
He knocks over the cactus and I wake up.
Like, what the fuck's going on with my cactus?
No, he's not sneaking out.
He's a gentleman, remember.
We wake up.
So he's out the door and he's like, I'm going to take care of this.
Don't even worry.
And I'm like, fuck, literally I have to go by a vacuum today.
An hour later, this person shows up at my doorstep with a vacuum, brand new vacuum.
And they're like, hey, Cody Bank sent me.
And I'm like, what?
I'm sorry, what?
Is it like a task rabbit?
Like an Amazon delivery driver?
Like what do you mean a person?
Exactly.
Just a person.
A random dude.
Not wearing a delivery, you know, not like a UPS.
No, just a dude.
And I'm like, okay.
Thank you.
Did he say Cody Bank sent me?
The guy.
Yeah.
He said Aidan sent me.
Oh, okay.
Aidan sent me.
Okay.
I accept the vacuum and I text him immediately like,
so who is this at my house?
And he's like, oh, those are our courier.
for the FBI. They're like runners. He's like, they usually deliver subpoenas, but they'll do,
but they'll do whatever you want. He's like, they're assigned to us. Like, I can have them do
anything. Let me know if you ever need anything. Oh, my. So he's so busy, right? He has to leave me
at 6 a.m. And I work from home. I started my own social media marketing agency. I work from home
every day. So we're texting every day. I'm still getting a song every day. And I work from home every
day and I'm lonely and I miss him and I'm like, I wish you had a work from home job. Oh, no. And he was like,
well, let me see if I can get a day off because I have a ton of paperwork and computer work to do.
So let me see if I could do it from home. And so he's like pretty soon, hey, like, I got this day off.
Let's do a work from home day together. So he comes over and we do our work from home days together.
And then afterwards, so he stays all day. And then that night, we're out. And then that night, we're out.
Out on my lanai, which is what they call it in Hawaii.
It's just a balcony.
It's just like makes me sound cool like I lived in Hawaii.
We're out on my lanai.
He's painting the picture.
And he plays the song that he sent me that morning.
What do you mean?
He plays it like on a little ukulele?
What do you mean he played?
Is he like Ken?
In the Barbie movie?
And play, I'm just Ken.
No.
He's an honest speaker.
Okay.
Oh.
That's how you made.
He passed out of the ukulelele.
He's like, let me see.
He puts on his Hawaiian shirt.
I imagine the grass skirt.
I thought this is like a whole performance.
Okay.
I wish.
I mean, he's not that good.
So he just plays it.
But actually he is that good because then we start slow dancing.
And he's like, he knows the tricks, like the spins and the behind the backs and the dips.
And like clearly he was like, yeah, I took like dancing growing up on my ranch.
Like I can line dance and whatever.
Okay.
Okay, Cody.
Yeah.
I'm like, go off, Cody.
And this song is called, when I get my.
hands on you. It's like murder. It's when I get my hands on you, never going to let you out of my
sight. I like this. Okay. When I get my hands on you, I'm going to make you marry me. Oh,
what? And you're like, huh. And now I know, everywhere on earth you go, you're going to have me as your
man. We're like two weeks in. That's the song he sends me. That becomes our song. Also, the lyrics were so
specific every morning. Like very like, I was like, how did you find these songs? Like something like,
we went on a hike on our first day. I'm like, wow. Oh my gosh. That's so funny. I love it's a low and
like, okay. So were you were you turned off by the song because you were like, oh, this is really fast.
Like were you kind of like, this is really fast? No, no, no, I'm hoping. I'm getting dipped and
spin and I'm in love. You're like, can we spin into the bed now?
Wait, did you do it by this point? No, no, no. Okay. Because.
Like, let's keep in mind. I'm still figuring things out with my ex-boyfriend.
Sure.
So I'm really liking this guy, but I am definitely keeping him at a distance.
Yes.
Like, I'm having fun with him.
He is very serious, and I know, I know he really likes me.
Okay.
Of course.
Dah.
So, yes, that song comes back into play later.
So when I get my hands on you.
Written by Ted Bundy.
Oh, my God.
Quickly after this, date number three.
We go to a very fancy restaurant in downtown Honolulu.
And then we go to his apartment.
Well, was that day good?
Like, did anything crazy happen?
Every day is good.
Every day is amazing.
Okay.
We're in paradise.
He's amazing.
Okay.
No getaways needed.
No.
Definitely backed into the car parking spot, but no, no getaways.
So then what happened in his apartment?
What happens?
So I'm really starting to like him at this point as well.
And I need to like tell him my situation more because we're at his apartment.
I'm like, okay, I don't want.
things to like move to the next level. I need to kind of set the scene here. I'm like, okay, so
I have two people coming to visit me, one of them being a boy. That's what I said to him.
I didn't say, this is my ex-boyfriend. I said, I have a guy coming to visit me from Utah
next week. So my ex-boyfriend and I decided, like, we need to figure this out because we're
talking. I'm like, I need to figure this out with you. Because, like, I need to move forward with
someone in my life and who. Is it you or is it?
not.
Is it Jacob or is it Edward?
So.
No.
No.
Oh, wait.
Twilight.
Who?
Twilight.
What?
What's Twilight?
Don't worry about it.
You're watching Twilight tonight.
Yeah.
We're going to do a little Harry Potter 12th.
Oh, the shiny vampires.
Yeah, exactly.
I know.
The guy that, the Twinkle Kid with the Bella girl, right?
And then she, yeah.
Yeah, let's say Aiden is Jacob with the abs.
Oh, and your ex is Edward.
Right.
What is this is Twilight glitter shit we're talking about?
I don't understand.
So I need to figure this out with my ex-boyfriend.
And I want him to know he's coming.
But I'm also like, I don't owe you the whole story.
I don't need to tell you.
My ex-boyfriend's coming.
Like, I barely know you.
We're three weeks in.
Did he flip out?
No.
Super cool.
Okay.
Super cool.
I was like, no worries.
Also, because he doesn't know I like this boy.
It could be, it could be my boy, a guy friend.
So he's just like, okay, yeah, no worries.
I'm like, I won't be able to see you for two weeks because they're visiting for one week and one week.
So I won't be able to see you.
And he's chill.
So we end that date. We're still not taking things to the next level, right? Because I'm playing it cool. I'm trying to figure out my life. I don't think I'm going to see him until my ex-boyfriend comes until one night the stars align. What do you know? I end up going to a birthday dinner. And it's literally right next to his apartment. And so we were so busy and we didn't think we'd see each other. But I was like, hey, I'm going to dinner. I'm literally right next to your house. Like let me just pop over and say hi before I go home. And so,
I go over and we have our first slumber party, if you will.
Wait, wait.
This was, this was not.
Nobody was in town?
No.
This is like a few days before my ex comes.
Yeah.
Oh, okay, okay, okay.
But I'm a girl trying to figure it out.
You're a girl navigating.
So you say, hey, I'm coming over and you stay the night.
You're very communicative, it seems like.
Did you guys do it?
Did he bang you a screen door and hurricane?
Yep.
Okay, good.
So that's that night.
So was that period?
Period.
Well put. So I was holding off because I didn't want to do that until my ex came because I just felt like, you know, that was like more of an honorable thing to do. But I seriously was like, the stars aligned. Like we didn't think we were going to see each other. Obviously we're supposed to be together tonight. Like it actually felt right. And I was like, I'm going for this. Sure. Why not? It felt right until it felt very, very, very, very wrong. Why win? Why? Because we go to sleep and about an hour later, I wake up and I am so desperately ill and poisoned.
I'm like sprinting to the toilet and I'm unleashing the demons.
Oh, why?
I think I got food poisoned from the restaurant.
I'm on my death bed, on the death floor in the bathroom floor.
Is it like that scene in bridesmaids?
Yes, it's worse.
What was he doing?
I called the toilet.
Oh, no.
There's no freaking plunger.
Oh, no.
And I'm like, I still have to go.
I'm like considering going in the shower.
Like, I'm so sick.
Oh, my God.
And then Jesus took the wheel.
He flushed the toilet from me.
me and I kept going. I was in there for hours and hours and hours. I'm like for someone who's an
FBI agent, you should be more aware of your surroundings and you should know like this girl's dying
and needs help in the bathroom. Was he sleeping? Dead asleep. Like a rock. Okay. Which thank God, though.
I'm keeping the mystery alive. He has no clue. Did he have no clue? Like what happened then he did
wake up? I'm sure. I hope he has no clue. Like I tried to frabreeze that shit. But did he know you're sick?
Literally, frabrease that shit.
I don't when he woke up.
So it's 3 a.m. or so at this point, I've been in there for hours.
And I go wake him.
I'm like, I'm like, I'm like, I need you to take me home because I got dropped off.
I was like, I need you to take me home right now.
I'm so sick.
And I feel so bad because I think, like, this is our first night, like having this intimate
moment together, like taking this next step.
And he, as far as I know, he doesn't know, I just died in the bathroom.
And so I thought he might think, like, she doesn't want this.
Yeah.
So I was like really nervous.
But I'm like, honestly, just go in there and smell.
Like, you'll know.
I'm dead.
I'm dying.
I'm dead inside.
Well, not inside anymore.
Oh, my God.
So he takes me home.
And this sickness stuff will come back later in the story.
The next morning, I get a call from Aden.
And he was like, hey, I really need to know, like, is this guy that's coming to visit you, like, someone you're dating or someone you're interested in?
And I was like, it's interesting.
You didn't ask me this, you know, before.
I know why he asked, why ask now?
I guess now, since we're kind of more serious, we've taken this next step.
Yeah.
And so I'm like, yeah, this is my ex that I told you about on date two.
I'm sorry if that's uncomfortable for you.
I wasn't planning on taking this next step with you, but like we just kind of felt like it was right last night.
We're trying to figure this out.
And that's why I told you I'm not going to see you for a week.
I really need to figure this out before I move forward with you.
I'm sorry that I've put you in this situation.
If you're not comfortable with this, tell me.
But like, I'm happy to tell you how things go after he leaves.
leaves and see you and see how this goes. We're only three weeks in. Like, you're still kind of figuring
it out. Yeah, you're communicating. He wasn't okay with the situation. He was so sad. He was so
hurt. Did you feel like it was like possessive or just like, I thought it was crazy for sure.
Okay. Yeah. I'm like, this is my first red flag flying. I'm like, okay. Like, I don't know what to
tell you. Like, I've always just known being honest is the best policy and I've done that and like I'm
living my own life. I met you three weeks ago. But how did he present it?
Was he like, how dare you?
Or was he like, man, that really sucks.
Like, I just thought we were, like, how did he present it to you?
Like, because I could, I can kind of understand like what.
It was just like, I can't handle this.
Like, this sucks so fucking much.
Like, I can't ever see you again.
Like, this is not okay with me, you know.
Okay.
Which is like he's fair if he wants to hold with that.
And you told him the information.
You guys connected and now he's like, wait a minute.
Now we've gotten into this like sexual relationship.
which is intimate. So now if she's seeing this other guy, now these feelings are being brought up
by this intimacy. Like, I could understand why it's why I totally got it. And that's why I said.
I was like, if you're not okay. Yeah. I was like, all I can do is be honest. And like,
tell you exactly what's going on, which is the right thing to do. And then I'm like,
goodbye, my lover. And he's gone. He gone. Okay. So he leaves. And then ex-boyfriend comes. And what
happens? Yeah. So my ex-boyfriend comes. And I think I'm never going to hear from Aiden again because he says you're
literally never going to hear from me again.
Because he said you're never going to.
Which is great.
I have the time to figure it out with my ex without him in the way.
Kind of nice.
Within the first two days of my ex being there, we're like, you're just my best friend.
And I love you so much, but you're just my best friend.
And we're so much better as friends.
And we made the right decision.
And so we're like, great.
Let's just have a freaking awesome week together.
This is awesome.
And I'm like, damn, too bad.
You know, things didn't work out with Aiden because like, now I'm sure of this decision.
Yes.
And, you know, whatever.
But it's okay.
then I get a text from Aiden, who I thought I was never going to hear from again, while my ex is still there.
Do you want me to read it?
Yes.
She brought receipts?
Is that a real question?
Did she just ask?
Yes.
It's way better to read this.
Also, of course he texted you.
Oh, that.
How do you say?
What do you say?
All right.
I'm sorry.
This is definitely inappropriately timed and not the medium to do it, but I can't wait any longer.
So fuck it.
Here we go.
I am horribly and hopelessly in love with you and have been since the moment we danced to that
dumb song at your place that night.
Aww.
I should have said something to you earlier, but I had no idea how to say that to someone
you just met and not sound like a complete idiot.
Plus, I very much didn't want it to be true and I still don't.
But it is and I can't change it.
You're all that I think about and my heart hurts when I'm not with you and my stomach gets
butterflies when I am.
I know you don't feel the same way, which makes it even harder, but I figured I owed it to say it to you to let you know why all of this has been so hard for me. I'm going to fall more in love with you every time we're together, and I find that terrible news for me, considering it is both unrequitted and on an expiration date, but I can't, I just can't help it. I can barely take it now. I've been positively miserable this week thinking about you. I know I need to let you and this go for both of our sakes, but I just don't know how to do that.
Aw. It's very twilight.
that means, but that's really sweet. Speaking of Twilight, I was irrevocably.
Yeah, that was when I learned that word. It's just like, Twiller is just like romance, romance, romance to the point of it being like, I would die without you.
Okay, so he had a little help sharing his feeling.
He probably did.
I've done that.
That was, like, beautiful.
And I feel like it's so easy to be like three weeks in.
That's so much.
That's love bombing.
But I bet everyone listening can be like, yeah, but I've had that moment.
Yeah.
And he explains it.
He's like, I know this sounds crazy.
But like, I can't help it.
And so I actually didn't know what love bombing was at this point.
It's a trendy word now.
Like, 23 years old or so.
Like, I don't know.
It doesn't see like red flags so far.
what happens. I need more. It seems like beautiful. No, I thought it was beautiful. I literally,
that's why I have the screenshot of it. Like, I kept it. Because I was just like, this is amazing.
And I'm like, I just respond, because I still have my week with my ex. She hearts it.
Just thumbs up. She said she responds with Kay. Thanks. Cool.
Actually, I did. I literally like, thank you so much. You know, for telling me how you feel.
I would love to talk about this in person when my guests are gone. I love you.
You know, I didn't say that. But I just was like, oh.
like dying over this message.
I mean, shoot your shot, fella.
He did.
No, I loved it.
So my ex leaves.
And then next person who visited me was my best friend, Julia.
She is from Pennsylvania.
And her mom actually works in the FBI.
So this will come around later.
Oh, convenient.
Julia Golia.
So Julia comes.
And I read her the text from Aiden.
And I tell her all about him.
And up to this point, I'm only saying good things.
things because, like, really, there's only been amazing things. But she is, like, one of those friends
that is just such an energy feeler. And she's like, I swear she has, like, a six-cent. She's, like,
psychic. She was like, I have a terrible feeling about him. And I was like, what? She was like,
I have a terrible, terrible feeling about him. Like, I don't like any of this. I don't want you to
respond to him. Like, this is terrible. Wow. And I was just like, I don't like. I don't like, I'm
like, I'm like, I'm like, la, la, la, la, la, like covering my ear. That must have been really hard
to hear. That must have been really difficult.
Which just, I'm so thankful for friends like that.
Yeah.
That really actually tell you what they think and look out for your feelings.
But I was like, I'm not listening to you.
Yeah, of course.
I completely ignored her.
And sorry, Julia.
We love you, Julia.
Then she leaves.
We have a great visit.
She leaves.
And Aiden and I meet up at the beach now that all my guests are gone.
And I'm thinking like he's not going to say what he said in text because like he's very bold over text.
Like anyone can be bold over.
a screen, right? I'm just thinking, like, will he even tell me? He, like, really loves me in person.
Like, is this all real? And we meet up on this speech and it's just a profession of love.
Like, so he did. Oh, yeah. Okay. Sounds like the bachelor. And then how were you feeling about that?
Like, how did it? Like, were you like, okay. I was so happy that he was saying it in person and that
this was like real and he wasn't like. And you didn't have the weight of your other, your ex-boyfriend
in the relationship. And now we can actually explore this. And it made so much sense. He's like,
this is, he just explained it to me, like, this is why it was so hard for me that he was coming and why I kind of freaked out because I was like, yeah, I didn't really get that. So he was so happy and you were so happy. And you're like, yay, now we can move forward. No. Oh. He still was like, it was weird because he was like, I love you so much, but I don't want to want you so much, but I don't want you so much, but I don't want to love island soon. He said, he's transitioning out of. Why? Because like, no one else is in the picture now. Like, what sucks? And he was just like, I don't want to love anyone. Like, I'm, I'm moving off island soon. He said he's transitioning out of.
the Marines and he's like going to be just a full-time agent and he's going to move off island. He's
going to be relocated. And I'm like, oh, okay, interesting. He's like, I don't have a date for it or
anything, but I know it's going to happen this year. So I don't want to fall for you. Like,
I'm going to have to leave eventually. And I'm just like, you don't even know when. Like, why are you
worrying about something that's not even present right now? So did he just find this out just now?
He's known this, I guess, but I didn't know. So all of a sudden he's concerned about
And he was the one asking you. That's why in the text he said, it's on an expiration date. It's unrequited. Unrequited. And on an expiration date. So I was like, you know, what's that about? He is eventually going to move off island because he's only there to be in the military. Or he was at least. And now he's an FBI agent. So at this point he's told me he's in the military. He's in the Marines. And he's an FBI agent. He said he's been transitioning out of the military slowly. Like he was still working as a bodyguard for a very high profile Marine. So he's a, he's a
He's like not really in the Marines anymore, but he was like this bodyguard for this super important general in the Marines.
But he's like an FBI agent.
So he's just like kind of slowly like getting rid of that part of his life.
And he's like an FBI agent.
I don't know.
When I say it now, it makes no sense.
But if he doesn't want to be in love, why is he professing his love and meeting up with you?
And why is he going asking you earlier, what are you in this for?
Like it's a Nicholas Sparks novel.
He's literally like.
Your love is too painful.
Yeah.
Like, yeah.
It's just so dramatic.
And so like, I love you and I don't want to.
And this guy.
It's tying me in.
And you're like, love will prevail.
Yes.
I'm like, let me show you how amazing love can be and like let me heal you and let me fix you.
This is literally when you guys start singing in the movie.
Like I get it.
Exactly.
He's all the drama.
Okay, so go ahead.
So what happens after that day?
So we, he brings me gifts every single time.
He sees me this time.
He brought me.
Me too.
It's my love language.
Same.
He brought me a coin this time when he came to.
have this conversation and it had my birth year on it, which apparently is a thing in the military,
like that you give to someone, you find a coin of their birth year. And it's like a nice symbol.
And so I had that coin. And so he was like, let's flip a coin. Let's flip the coin. And heads will be
together in tails. We won't. And I'm like, I'm going to lie. Whatever I flip this too,
I'm going to say it's heads, you know? So I flip it and I catch it and we both see it.
And it's tales. The universe is telling me something. And I'm like, it's heads. We're supposed to be
together. And he just immediately kisses me. And he's like, I cannot believe you actually would
leave that up to chance. And he's like, of course we're going to be together. You know?
A movie. It was a movie. I wrote about this in my journal. I read it the other day. I was like,
I'm submitting that to Netflix. Like, it's a movie. It's just all so planned out. And it was
like so like the whole coin flip and the like thinking of what it's going to be while it's in the air.
and catching and seeing its tails and being like its heads and then the whole dramatic kiss
and then the sweeping me off my feet and being like, of course we're going to be together.
I love you. I don't know. It's a lot. So, but what happens next?
We start dating. Yeah, okay. Yeah, we start dating. And it's, it's magical. It's perfection.
He takes on the role of tour guide in Hawaii. He takes me everywhere. And he's not holding back,
worried that he's leaving? No, we, so I don't hear about that for like a month or so.
I don't hear about it.
No, this is the montage. It's perfect. We live in Hawaii. He's staying. Like, we're a happy family,
you know, like nothing's wrong. It's actually so perfect. He brings me gifts all the time.
He takes me to really nice dinners. Like, everything is going perfectly. And we're falling in love in
absolute paradise, Hawaii. Okay, let me tell you what I know about him so far. The facts.
Okay. When he introduces himself to people, he says, I work for the government. He has never told
a single person he works for the FBI besides me. Okay. He tells me, I can't ask.
ask about his job. Like, I literally would be like, how was your day? How was your day, babe? You can't
ask. Don't ask me. Like that, that extreme. To the extreme of, I cannot tell you a single thing about
my job. He was in the military, but he was transitioning out. He was in the Marines. He now is a bodyguard
for a very high-profile Marine. The main thing I know about his job is what he wears, because he'll send
me a picture of him in a suit often on Snapchat. He'll send you a picture of a suit in him and
he'll send me a picture of him, just him, you know, but he's in a suit. And they're always like,
mirror selfies of like him in a suit looking really good. But like in my head, I'm thinking like,
oh, like he has to dress up for work. Like this is like very high profile, you know, very serious.
He once sent me a video of him keycarding into a building. And I remember because the photo on
his keycard, he looked so young in it. And I was like, oh my God, he looks so young in your keycard.
So cute. So again, like he has to like he got into a secretive building. No one else can get in,
right? So I see stuff like that. It could be the Spotify building we're in right now.
I was thinking that we had to be like the parking garage at the courthouse.
Yeah.
You don't know.
He said he has no social media because of his job.
He said he can't like be known, not even a LinkedIn.
Whatever.
Because of his job.
That makes sense though.
There was one time he told me we were on the hot tub on his roof and his amazing downtown Honolulu apartment.
And he's like looking at this building like all disgusted.
And I'm like, are you okay?
And he was like, I just did an interrogation with some guys from that building today.
And I was like, shocked.
because I'm like, I thought I wasn't allowed to hear about your job. You know, so I'm like,
what happened? And he was like, there was a gang bang in that building and my job is like
interrogating the guys in it. And he's like, he was so angry and so disgusted and talking about
this interrogation. And I was feeling sick. I was feeling sick because I was like, it made me
feeling safe and scared. I was like, that's happening in safe Hawaii. You know, I'm just like,
and so close to us, I can see the building.
But also, like, my hero is...
Exactly.
Then he tells me about his benefits in the FBI.
He told me a story about how one of his coworkers literally just got married because the wife
wanted the benefits so bad, because apparently these benefits are so good.
He has his whole life planned out.
He's going to retire at 40 because he's going to be paid that well.
He's going to work a 90-day-on, 90-day-off schedule with the FBI.
He gets to tell them his top five preference.
of where he wants to be an FBI agent, and then that changes like every three years,
he moves, which is exciting for me because I'm a traveler. Also, in his 90 days off, he can travel
with me. He can send himself and his wife through any schooling, so like a master's program,
which he knew I wanted to do. He can, he can send you through that. All of his kids, he can send
through college. I don't know anything is true. I'm going off of what I see. He has a freaking nice
ass apartment. He pays for expensive ass meals. Like he... You didn't think to ask Julia Gullia's mom.
I think Julia is probably well off. I've never met Julia's mom. Oh, so you did. Okay. Never met her mom.
Okay. Gotcha. So he doesn't do any drugs. Neither do I. But he came over one day and my roommate
was smoking weed, which is illegal in Hawaii. And he was like... I'm an FBI, bitch. This is a real bold move
of you to smoke in front of a federal officer, like a federal agent. And she was like,
freaking the fuck out, hiding all the weed. And he was like, I'm kidding. I'm kidding. You know,
like, but just so you know, that's illegal, you know, and like scared her. And she was scared.
And I'm looking at her like, I'm so sorry. Like, okay, good to know. And he was like, I can't do any
drugs. Like, you actually can't do drugs at all in your life, he said, to be in the FBI.
But they also can't know that. That will come.
back. He says he surfs every week. So he's lived in Hawaii for five years, was deployed for two or three of
those. So at least two years of his life living in Hawaii, he's gone surfing every single week. I'm assuming he's a
pretty damn good surper at this point. Those are the things I know about him, you know, so far when we first
started dating. I learned a lot more. But not much about his job, because I can't. I can't ask. So when we
start dating, I'm so happy because he is literally like world's best. He's not my boyfriend yet,
but let's just say world's best boyfriend. Yeah, yeah. Okay. If I, if I'm,
I wanted anything, I got it.
Like, I was going shopping with my roommate, and I just texted him, we're going shopping.
I get a $200 benmo from him.
So $200 don't get you shit even at Target.
So we're going to need you to do.
It's also true.
I'm like, where's the rest of it?
You forgot a hero.
Then after my shopping spree, I go to his house and I, like, show him everything I got.
And I didn't try on some of it.
And I put on this dress that I wanted so badly.
and it didn't fit. I was like, no, I'm so sad. He's like, no worries. Immediately schedules an appointment with his tailor. He takes me to the tailor like the next day.
Who is this guy? I get a tailor and he pays for it. Yeah, it feels like that. Yeah. I have my perfect dress. We walked into a store another time him and I were going shopping together and we walked into a store and there was this pink hat and that's my favorite color. And I was like, oh, love that hat so much. I'm like looking at it a bit. We walk out of the store. He has the hat. He bought it behind my back.
And you're like, I'm like, oh, amazing.
Okay, I like him. It's fine.
Or maybe two months in, everything's perfect. Everything's great.
Okay.
I have no problems. Like, literally, I say jump. He's like, how high?
Like, I can, he's a fixer. Like, everything is just perfect, which is so nice because I'm new to this island.
Like, I don't have my family there. So I'm like at his house all the time, all the time now.
I'm like basically living with him. And so one time I'm there and I'm like, can I please have a phone charger?
because I'm basically moving in. He was like, sure. Do you want one with a camera on it or without?
I'm sorry. I'm sorry. What? On the phone charger. I'm like, what? Yeah. What?
In his nightstand, he pulls out all these gadgets, multiple gadgets, with many cameras in them.
And he's showing me because he's trying to make it seem like you travel so much. You need to make sure that these are not in your hotel rooms and your Airbnbs. Like, these record you and
they record audio and he's showing me like, I would never, I would never know these things. Like,
one was a speaker, one was a phone charger, I would never know. You should see the gadgets I have
have a PI. I have a pen that's a camera and a hat that's a, yeah, it's wild. It makes sense that
you have them because you're a PI. I thought it makes sense he has them. I said, no, but I still
was like, what the fuck? Why are these in your room? Yeah. And he was like, everyone in the FBI has
these for sure. He was like, it's literally not a big deal. Like, everyone.
has these like, you have to. I was like, do you use these? And I'm freaked out. I said, are these at my
house? Are these at my house? What do you say? And he was like, like appalled that I would even think that,
you know? And I'm like kind of joking, but kind of serious. So that was interesting, but part of the
job, just gear that he has, obviously. While I'm there also, we watched a movie and he puts his
laptop on the bed. He's like, pull up the movie. I open his laptop to his desktop screen. There's only two
documents on the desktop. FBI cover letter FBI resume. And I remember seeing it because I was like,
hmm, this is the first time I have ever seen any documentation that says FBI on it. Like,
I don't expect to see it because clearly it's top secret. I can't see anything. Yeah.
But I was like, oh, interesting. Did you open it? I would have opened it. No, I should have.
But weird. Only thing on the desktop. And he asked me to pull up the movie. Oh, okay.
So we're a few months in and he finally gets the date.
he's going to have to leave the island.
And at this point, things are getting more serious.
This guy is like my dream guy.
I can't imagine this ending.
So why don't I just go with him?
You know, we started making plans.
So he was going to be moving off island.
He was going to go to the FBI Academy where my best friend Julia lives.
So I made plans to go live there, hang out with Julia, be there with him.
Like, I'm a traveler.
I'm happy to go.
off island. I can always come back. I can go stay where he is. Exactly. I work remote. I can follow
him. So we started making these plans and he's feeding me these ideas of these benefits and I'll get 90
days off and we can travel together and our life's going to be so amazing. So then you asked when shit
hits the fan. It hits the fan with us now. So he, we are at my place having a movie night.
I get so sick all of a sudden. I start feeling so sick.
to my stomach. Yes, my stomach is hurting so bad to the point where I'm like, I can't watch this movie anymore.
We're sitting in our two-person hammock on the line. And I'm like, I need to go inside. I need to lay down.
I go inside and lay down. He's out there with my roommate and they're watching the movie.
Then he comes in like a bat out of hell after the movie is done. He's on fire. He's enraged.
And I already have a fire in my stomach. So I'm like, what? Like I can barely move. I'm like literally so sick.
And he was like, I just got, are you ready for this?
Yes.
Yes.
I just got news from the FBI that you're texting your ex.
Ooh, hoo.
More to come.
Okay, that was a little bit to take.
Yeah, there's so much more to come.
So, like, I don't want to give anything away.
So there's a lot more, first of all, just to this story in part two, but also.
You are going to investigate.
Yes, there will be an investigation.
and then you guys are going to hear about what I find in my investigation, and it's going to be a dozy.
Because, yeah, she has brought this story to us not knowing quite as many answers as she would like.
So that's what McKenzie's going to do for her, which I'm excited about.
Guys, I'm so sorry.
Like, I really don't want to give anything away, but just hold on to your freaking pants for next week.
The second half of her story is insane.
And you guys are going to get some real answers at the end with my investigation.
I'm just so excited for you to hear it next week.
As always, if you have stories in the meantime,
Hey, McKenzie, do you know the email?
Yeah, it's whatever Hannah says.
It's fine.
It's in the show notes.
