Starting point is 00:00:00 Welcome back everybody to the David Pakman show. Luke Beasley here filling in for David. He's traveling. Funnily enough, I'm also traveling. But when David calls, you take the call. And so that's why I'm not in a studio myself, but a great show ahead of us, starting with former President Barack Obama, just absolutely devastating Donald Trump at a Harris event in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. People have been wondering, I've been wondering, where has Barack Obama been? He needs to, every day until the the election be doing rallies like this one, starting with this. Or a car seat or diapers. I remember buying that.
Starting point is 00:00:57 I remember the first time I went in the store right after Malia was born. I was like, what? That's how much diapers cost? I remember changing diapers. You think Donald Trump ever changed a diaper? No. No. No chance. Yeah. I almost said that but i decided i shouldn't say it what the crowd member said was his own
Starting point is 00:01:35 meaning trump has changed his own diaper uh but then on to something even though that that gets to a point about how out of touch trump is and how his interest is himself that man in the mirror that's the one person that he's concerned with and not people working changing diapers purchasing car seats, purchasing diapers, etc. And here, Obama makes a point that if you're a viewer of my show, I know David Patman has made similar points, but you know, I bring this up constantly, a little bit of an obsession of mine. I wish more mainstream media figures would contextualize the Trump points that he'll make about the metrics of economic performance before the pandemic while Trump was president with how the inheritance of Biden-Harris is so different than that of Trump's, meaning the economy Trump inherited
Starting point is 00:02:39 was solid compared to the disaster that Biden-Harris had too. And then, don't boo, I'm going to break you of this habit. And the reason some people think, wow, I don't know, I remember that economy when he first came in being pretty good. Yeah, it was pretty good because it was my economy. We had had 75 straight months of job growth that I handed over to him.
Starting point is 00:03:16 It wasn't something he did. I spent eight years cleaning up the mess that the Republicans had left me the last time. So just in case everybody has a hazy memory. He didn't do nothing except those big tax cuts. Exactly right. So often you'll hear people justify the fact that Trump is a
Starting point is 00:03:48 civilly liable sexual abuser. Justify the fact that Trump refused to leave office until all of his allegedly illegal schemes failed to keep him in power unlawfully. Justify every one of the disastrous things he has said and done by going, well, the economy was good. And then you go, really? Because four years ago, everything was, was it going to hell? And they said, well, no, before the pandemic, before the pandemic. But if you're saying the big accomplishment of Donald Trump is not messing up a ton what was handed to him economically by Obama, seeing economic trends head about a little bit slow, but about in the direction they were expected to when Obama left office, and then mismanaging the economic crisis that came
Starting point is 00:04:47 when Trump was called to be a leader during this economic, social, and public health crisis. That's the big accomplishment? That he did fail when he was called to lead, but things were sort of good when he inherited a good situation? Come on. Come on. Then more from Obama. sort of good when he inherited a good situation come on come on then more from obama she will have an outstanding partner in governor tim wall tim is a veteran he is a teacher he's a coach he's a hunter he He is a teacher. He's a coach. He's a hunter.
Starting point is 00:05:29 He's been a great governor working with Democrats and Republicans to get stuff done. He can also take a vintage truck apart and put it back together again. You think Donald Trump can do that? For that matter, do you think Donald Trump has ever changed a tire in his life? I'm just trying to picture it. Okay. I have to say, this is fantastic. But, sir, Mr. President, Barack Obama, even if you're a MAGA person, I feel like you could acknowledge this is compelling stuff. His delivery, his rhetorical efficacy is compelling. And the substance, as you'll hear here, is compelling as well.
Starting point is 00:06:43 The other day, his running mate, J.D. Vance, had the... You gotta vote! The other day, his running mate had the nerve to say, Donald Trump salvaged the Affordable Care Act. I... I mean, Donald Trump spent his entire presidency trying to tear it down. And by the way, he couldn't even do that right. And now, eight years after he was elected, when he was asked about what he was going to do, he says he's got concepts of a plan for how he'd replace it.
Starting point is 00:07:36 Yeah, it would be funny if it weren't so devastating. And if it didn't represent the way that there's such a strong bubble that MAGA people get to live in, that they don't contend with how absurd and unpresidential that is. To get into politics running in part on overturning, repealing the Affordable Care Act so that you can replace it with something way better. As Trump described it, by the way, back in the 2016 campaign, a plan that would be covered for everyone, universal and free for consumers and cheaper than what we have now and also not one of those communist systems that the democrats are proposing just it never made sense but to this day he still doesn't have a plan as trump said concepts of the plan is the best that he could come up with and then the gall for Republicans now to be saying, oh, no, Trump saved Obamacare. It's gaslighting like I've never seen before. Obama continued on this topic.
Starting point is 00:08:58 Or you could try it at home. Honey, did you do the dishes? I have a concept of a plan to do the dishes. How's that going to go over? If it wouldn't work for you, why in the heck should it work for for the president of the United States. That is a fantastic, fantastic question. Now, there's just so much from this, and I know that these segments, when I'm going through this many clips and I have a lot to say,
Starting point is 00:09:36 get drawn out too long. Let's try this one, and then we'll try to wrap up. One of those values is freedom. And during election time, there are a lot of flags and there's a lot of talk about freedom. So let me talk about that just for a second.
Starting point is 00:09:57 Because I don't think we've ever had an election with candidates who understand freedom more differently. For Donald Trump and his cronies, freedom means that the powerful can do whatever they please. Fireworkers for trying to organize a union. Dodge paying their fair share of taxes. Try to throw out your votes when they lose an election. Control what women can and can't do with their bodies.
Starting point is 00:10:36 In other words, for Trump, freedom is getting away with stuff. Perfectly said, and it closed like this. And the good news is that you have candidates to vote for in this election that demonstrate that kind of character, who know what real strength looks like, who will set a good example and do the right thing and lead this country better than they found it. So Pennsylvania, that is the choice in this election. It's not just about policies that are on the ballot.
Starting point is 00:11:19 It is about values and it is about character. So whether this election is making you feel excited or scared or hopeful or frustrated or anything in between, do not just sit back and hope for the best. Get off your couch and vote. Put down your phone and vote. Grab your friends and family and vote. Vote for Kamala Harris as the next president of the United States. at that rally, which is why, again, I say, I'm honestly, I don't think I knew how much I felt this until I watched this rally, but now I'm a little bit upset. So he should be worried with Obama for not starting this earlier. These clips, the humor, the soundbiteable nature of them will make them go viral,
Starting point is 00:12:25 will reach people in a way that some of the other rallies haven't. And so hopefully this and more to come will do just that. But on the last two clips, for so long, Republicans, I think, illegitimately even then, or inaccurately even then, but especially now, they, I should say, they used to really own the term freedom. But especially now it's outrageous that they grab that term. And I think they're losing grip of it in the eyes of Americans. Because as Obama said, it seems like it just means freedom for Trump to do whatever he'd like personally or in his governance. Freedom for the government to control people more.
Starting point is 00:13:16 So that contrast needs to be laid bare. And then I know some people get upset with the get off the couch and vote rhetoric as if the only reason people aren't voting is just because they're too lazy. And there are tons of reasons and to their neighbors to vote for what is better for that country and that those neighbors and those people individually. And this election is an example of one where you really don't want to sit out of it, given the stakes. Much, much more after this quick break. Questions like will Trump win the presidential election? Will Kamala Harris flip a state? Will political commentator destiny appear on Joe Rogan's podcast? If you predict correctly, you win play money called mana or sweep cash. One sweep cash is redeemable for a US dollar.
Starting point is 00:14:38 So if you predict right, you can turn it into cash and the platform gives you free mana and sweep cash to play with every single day. I spend a lot of my day in front of screens and sitting for long periods has been linked to poor heart health, bad posture, diabetes. The list goes on. And this is one of the many reasons I started using an uplift standing desk many years ago, long before they became a sponsor. I stand when I'm doing work at the desk. I sit to film and it's all on the same adjustable desk. A standing desk boosts my energy throughout the day, makes it easier to stay alert. I use the desk for everything. I'm sitting at it right now. I use it every day to record. I've tried a ton of different standing desks. A lot of them are
Starting point is 00:16:18 wobbly or cheap. They don't provide cable management options. I've stuck with uplift desk We'll be right back. up. When you go to uplift desk dot com slash Pacman, that's UPL, IFT desk dot com slash Pacman for up to three hundred dollars off and you get four desk accessories totally free. Luke Beasley, as I said, filling in for David, you can find me at luke beasley on
Starting point is 00:18:46 youtube or podcast listeners i know lots of people listen to the pacman podcast you can also listen to me there it has been really shocking and disheartening seeing the willingness for mag MAGA Republicans, for Trump, people online, Marjorie LeGreen, to exploit an extremely frightening and, for many people, tragic moment amid Hurricane Helene that we just experienced, Hurricane Milton that we're experiencing now, and the fallout from those hurricanes. And MAGA jumped right into action, not solely as we should caring about people. The people impacted, the lives lost and ravaged, but instead attacking their political opponents with lies. And Trump has been saying that the federal government waited days to do anything. He's been saying that FEMA disaster response funds are being reallocated instead to house migrants or something. And that's why there's no FEMA money for anyone.
Starting point is 00:19:58 And if you try to get relief, you're not going to get it. And then Marcia the Green is saying that the weather's being controlled by the government to attack republican areas or alluding to that and biden had the perfect response to those claims and to trump himself take a look mr president have you spoken with former president trump at all are you kidding me mr president trump former president trump get a life man help these people if you're going to speak on this which we all should if you're going to focus on this, focus on people, helping people, hearing people, etc. Not pushing misinformation. Get a life, Biden says.
Starting point is 00:20:55 And then Biden also addressed Marjorie LeGreen during a briefing. Now, I want to be clear about something. The last few weeks, there's been a reckless, irresponsible, and relentless promotion of disinformation and outright lies that are disturbing people. It's undermining confidence in the incredible rescue and recovery work that has already been taken and will continue to be taken. It's harmful to those who need help the most. There is simply no place for this to happen. Former President Trump has led the onslaught of lies. Assertions have been made that property is being confiscated. That's simply not true. They're saying people
Starting point is 00:21:33 impacted by these storms will receive $750 in cash and no more. That's simply not true. They're saying the money is needed for this crisis is being diverted to migrants. What a ridiculous thing to say. It's not true. Now the claims are getting even more bizarre. Congressman Marjorie Taylor Greene, a congresswoman from Georgia, is now saying the federal government is literally controlling the weather. We're controlling the weather. It's beyond ridiculous. It's got to stop. Moments like this, there are no red or blue states there's one united states of america i honestly i don't think i'll ever understand this To me, just like we say on sort of there will be people who pass away and you set aside politics for that.
Starting point is 00:22:32 This and certain limited subjects, you just don't politicize. Unless you're MAGA, then you do. I don't get the urge. I don't understand how you could go to bed at night knowing that you're just pumping out stuff that's getting people hurt. And what Biden's referencing is listen to someone who called into a radio show and said, his dad is not applying for FEMA money
Starting point is 00:23:02 that he could get because of the online misinformation. Let's go to Anthony in North Carolina. Anthony, how you doing? What do you got? Hi, Dan. Thank you for taking my call. This situation is actually breaking up our family. My father-in-law lives just outside of Asheville, North Carolina, and he was badly damaged by Hurricane Helene. And he has refused all FEMA help because he's a hardcore Trumper.
Starting point is 00:23:30 And he believes he literally believes that if he accepts anything from FEMA, they're going to take his house. Wow. And my wife, my wife is I mean, we're literally I mean, we're at the point where like, screw them. I mean, if they're going to listen to. So because of online MAGA nonsense, you have someone who was impacted by the hurricane, isn't applying for FEMA relief that he'd probably be qualified for because he thinks they'll come and take his property or something. I haven't even heard that particular conspiracy yet. So stop.
Starting point is 00:24:14 Stop, stop, stop. Get a life. Stop spending your life pushing misinformation and instead spending it. If this is going to be your focus, helping people. There's plenty to do. But instead, that's the focus for people. There really is no line for some.
Starting point is 00:24:34 And I think the deterioration of some of those norms and standards we had in American politics can be attributed to MAGA Trumpism. Earlier in the show, we talked about Barack Obama and his pretty incredible rally in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. That's one version of how you can deliver a political speech, okay? We reviewed that. Another is a different former president, Donald Trump. And let's see how he delivered a speech in Pennsylvania as well, starting with this. And the women are going to like Trump. I think they like me anyway. I think it's all bullshit. Yeah, I mean, believe that at your own peril. Believe that all the polls indicating there's this unprecedented gender gap between Harris and Trump is all just BS. And hopefully him not responding strategically to that reality that is very real, not BS, will cost him the election.
Starting point is 00:25:51 Then he can't stop complimenting himself and rambling about how he never rambles, but he just says a lot of stuff and he weaves in this way that English professors have said is incredible and indicative of a genius. He just goes from one topic to the next and never connects them, but does sort of in a way that you could not possibly understand unless you're a genius. He just goes from one topic to the next and never connects them, but does sort of in a way that you could not possibly understand unless you're a genius. I have a great memory. I can talk about hundreds of things at one time and always get back to that point that you were trying to make. I can do things that people can't do, but know what we have the biggest this is the this must be why he constantly insults vice president harris's intelligence because he's clearly so insecure about his i know some smart people okay they never tell me they're smart. Don't tell me, show me is the policy on that topic for sure. But Trump constantly says he's a very stable genius, as he once said it, or talks about how the way that he rambles is actually 16 D chess. That doesn't make sense.
Starting point is 00:27:05 In a way that, that only geniuses understand. That's a sign that he is concerned that people think he's a dumb, dumb. And that's why he always accuses vice president Harris, someone who's obviously very intelligent of being unintelligent or low IQ or stupid. It's projection.
Starting point is 00:27:24 Then he insulted Dave McCormick. He's tough as hell. David, I know you just spoke. Just come here, say like for two seconds, because nobody wants to hear you right now. Just come up. You're inviting him up, but saying no one wants to hear you. And then McCormick ran on stage and went, I'll be quick. This is cult. That's what we're witnessing. That he'll come up after being embarrassed and go, Mr. President, oh God, oh God, you're so, you're so great. Right after you insulted me. Then this.
Starting point is 00:28:12 But for that to happen, the people of Pennsylvania have to tell Kamala Harris that we've had enough. We think you're a horrible person. We think you're a liar. And we, right? We think. We think you're a liar. Right? You're a liar, right? You're a liar. We think you're not a smart person and we're tired of having stupid people run our country. But for there it is again.
Starting point is 00:28:33 I said on my show when we covered this or something related. By the way, again, you can find my show at luke bees on youtube but there's so many things you can criticize your political opponent about vice president harris about some tough criticisms of of political opponents i think it's totally within a decent political environment but trump insists on taking our political dialogue and deteriorating, as I said in the past segment, more and more and more to where it's just a bunch of children screaming at each other. At least if we all acted like him, that's what it would be. It's unfortunate. Then he's very upset with wind again. The thing is crazy. You remember when I used to say, darling,
Starting point is 00:29:22 I want to watch our president tonight on television. And the husband looks, I'm sorry, Derek. The windmills aren't wind. There's no wind tonight. You can't watch. Wait. There's so many times when I'm listening to Trump talk, and I think that I
Starting point is 00:29:39 my brain wasn't working. Let's listen to that first part one more time. The whole thing is crazy. You remember when I used to say, darling, I want to watch our president tonight on television. And the husband looks, I'm sorry, Derek. I'm sorry what? I'm sorry, Derek. The windmills aren't wind.
Starting point is 00:29:59 There's no wind tonight. You can't watch, darling. We're not going to be watching tonight. The windmills aren't wind no they're windmills you're correct uh the windmills aren't aren't be winding tonight so no tv i don't want to be insulting i just criticize him for being a child um that's not an intelligent person i think the other one asking the question is dumber than kamala so that's like she's a dummy i watched her over the years that is one dumb that is one dumb woman sorry
Starting point is 00:30:44 i'm sorry women she's a dummy That is one dumb woman. Sorry. I'm sorry, women. She's a dummy. People say women don't like me. She's dumb. She's a dumb woman. Sorry, women. But women love me.
Starting point is 00:30:59 It's BS if you ever say otherwise. He doesn't understand the contradiction there. That's the stuff plus overturning and revoking the rights that that hurts too it's and then i'll play another he's obsessed with insulting other people's intelligence because he thinks if in an instant if one individual moment, wind's not blowing, then the energy generated by windmills can't be accessed. So he has to call everyone else stupid to make himself feel better. So think of that. So I heard that question when it was given because I had to watch because, you know, she doesn't do any interviews. She doesn't do any press conferences.
Starting point is 00:31:51 She doesn't do them for one reason. She's not smart. She's not smart. No one repeats that that much unless it's about them. And this is so weird then he says this about whoopi goldberg she said i'm making a movie would you be in it i said in what capacity just a walk on you're so great would you do i did a walk on for what big over now. She says I refuse to mention his name. You know what? Politics can do strange things to demented people. Now, I've hired Whoopi to work for me as a comedian before this stuff and a long time ago. And I went and, you know, I'm not particularly shy about what I hear.
Starting point is 00:32:47 Her mouth was so foul. Every word out of her mouth was like the F word. I was with a group of people, like sort of nice people, and we had to leave. She was so filthy, dirty, disgusting. Half the place left. I said I'd never hire her again again but she was so dirty every word was filthy dirty and i left and then i see her why did she say it like that every word is dirty filthy disgusting filthy dirty dirty filthy so filthy oh gosh he attacked howard stern i don't even think
Starting point is 00:33:22 we need to keep getting into that. But I do think you should continue being subjected to this pattern. And because she's speaking, people are realizing she's a dumb person, say about a sign of his decline, is that he is having a harder and harder time coming up with new, unique, thoughtful ways to explain himself, to articulate a thought. And so this is the best example of it. He can't think of better insults. So it's just, she's dumb because she's a dummy dummy. And her friend has a nasty foul disgusting dummy mouth so they're all a bunch of dummies so i don't care they don't
Starting point is 00:34:10 like me because they're dumb and stupid and also nasty and it's embarrassing it's truly embarrassing why people wait for hours to watch this in person i'll never know. I will never, never know. I know this becomes repetitive for the full show viewers, but got to make sure it's it's probably being communicated. You can find me at Luke Beasley on YouTube and podcast listeners searching that on any podcast platform. We'll be back after this. Donald Trump has made it clear in a truth social post that if he gets elected, he will prosecute people in response to imaginary voter fraud using the Justice Department as his personal tool for revenge. And it's crazy how conservative news outlets are framing this story like this headline
Starting point is 00:35:02 from Ben Shapiro's Daily Wire, which says Governor Burgum defends Trump against leftist outrage over his demand for fair elections. Meanwhile, when independent media outlet Mother Jones is reporting on the same story, their headline is the Trump plan to prosecute election officials and suppress the vote. So you get a totally different idea of the story depending on who's reporting it. Our sponsor, Ground News, makes it really easy to see these differences for every news story. Ground News shows me a breakdown of how each outlet is framing the story, who owns the outlet, what their political biases. So you can make up your own mind. I can also follow ground news is dedicated twenty twenty four presidential election page for each candidate,
Starting point is 00:35:50 which is an amazing tool right now just to sort out fact from fiction on the race. And my viewers get 40 percent off the same unlimited access vantage plan that I use when you go to ground dot news slash Pacman, dodge the manipulation and see the media landscape more transparently. Go to ground dot news slash Pacman to get 40 percent off ground news is unlimited access vantage plan. The link is in the podcast notes. If you've ever struggled with sleep, melatonin can be a good option. No crazy side effects like the prescription drugs and proven to work. And the most relaxing way to enjoy melatonin before bed is a nice mug of dream hot cocoa by our sponsor beam. Dream is a flavorful hot cocoa with a dose of melatonin designed to ease you into
Starting point is 00:36:47 restful sleep. Comes in flavors like mint chocolate chip, chocolate, peanut butter, sea salt, caramel. Dream has no added sugar. It's naturally sweetened with monk fruit and only 15 calories per serving. I'm a big fan of dreams, cinnamon, cocoa flavor, warm, soothing, perfect way to wind down before bed. And as a relatively new parent, I can tell you I have a whole new appreciation for sleep being up at many various hours of the night with my daughter. And dream hot cocoa puts my sleep rhythm back on track, helps me fall asleep and stay asleep longer as melatonin is clinically proven to do. You know, slash Pacman. Use code Pacman for 40 percent off. The link is in the podcast notes.
Starting point is 00:37:47 You know, it's interesting to consider the categories of irritation when it comes to your MAGA movement at large, broadly Republicans who don't speak out against Trump. Because, of course, the Lauren Boebert's, the Marjorie Taylor Greene's, the Matt Gaetz's. These people that are fully ride or die MAGA are really irritating. But imagine being someone who knows better. Is it worse for you to support trump and there are figures like republican congressman dan crenshaw that given some of his critiques of the more extreme mega people given just his whole vibe it feels like he knows better and he's not totally drinking the Kool-Aid like a Marjorie Shetley Green is. But then he goes right along with it and thus should be judged just as aggressively and should be called out just as aggressively. And that's what Tim Miller, friend of the David Hackman show and friend of the Luke Beasley show show um did on pierce morgan's show so let's
Starting point is 00:39:05 watch this clip and then we'll discuss you surely tim you must recoil a bit when you see the way she responds to those kind of questions i mean she literally says nothing it's just i don't it's just i don't i don't because you this is the thing you guys don't want to show donald trump's answers because they're even more word salad it's lies and it's conspiracies and it's dangerous and, that's why we're not showing his interviews where he's lying about what's happening with Hurricane Helene right now or any other debate where Kamala mopped the floor with him. Here's the thing. Congressman Crenshaw wants your audience to think that the Republican Party right now is the same as it was in 2017 and that the donald trump administration will be the
Starting point is 00:39:45 same as it was when he brought in a bunch of traditional republicans to be around him in his cabinet and to work in his staff and i'm sorry that's just an imaginary world that the congressman wants to live in to feel comfortable because what the world we live in now is all those people i'm sorry let me finish let me finish all those people are gone now. And at the RNC at the box, the people around Trump are Matt Gaetz, Marjorie Taylor Greene, Tucker Carlson. Tucker had a prominent spot to speak at the convention. Congressman Crenshaw did not. This new party is a nativist party that's going to be about mass deportations and tariffs and revenge on Donald Trump's enemies. If you don't believe me, listen to what Donald Trump says. And I just want to know why Congressman Crenshaw thinks that he understands where the party is better than Trump's own vice president, Mike Pence, who assesses this and says, no, this is not someone we can trust. Why does Congressman Crenshaw think that he knows better than Mike Pence about Donald Trump's character and what kind of policies he would put him? Dan, do you want to respond to that?
Starting point is 00:40:45 Yeah. Yeah. So I'll just remind everybody that we're about to vote in November and on your ballot, it doesn't ask you the question of whether Donald Trump is the same as Jesus Christ. That's not what the question is. The question is, do you prefer Donald Trump or do you prefer Kamala Harris? And the look on Tim Miller's face is perfect at the end. Yeah. It's so interesting. One of the points, I'm trying to remember who made, oh, Mark Cuban.
Starting point is 00:41:11 Mark Cuban makes this point a lot. One of the interesting differences between Vice President Harris's campaign and Trump's is Trump's relies so much more on his allies explaining what it is that he's saying day to day. Oh, Tim Scott, I know David covered Tim Scott on CNBC saying, no, when Trump's talking about tariffs, you know, often Trump talks in the abstract. He's saying specific numbers, the size of tariffs that he's going to implement, but that's just an abstraction, right? It's painting you a picture that then you're supposed to have some conclusion. You're going to be inspired by the picture he painted with his specific numbers to realize that the tariffs can be something different.
Starting point is 00:41:55 And then Tim Scott goes on to try to make sound more sane the ramblings of Trump at his events. Dan Crenshaw is a big part of this. You need your perceived to be, at least, more moderate Republicans to be out there saying, oh, listen, I know that Trump's not Jesus Christ, unlike what a lot of American people pretend. And he has these flaws, but we're just talking about policy.
Starting point is 00:42:26 And Trump on policy. And that allows for so many people, some that I know personally and love them, to go, no, I get it, Luke. He's terrible in this way and that way and this way but people that i respect like dan crinshaw are willing or have convinced me that trump's just better he's just better because of the border or the economy even though for those reasons and those are whole different conversations he's not better on those issues and this holds together the movement that's just large enough to maybe be able to win. Because if it were just Trump's hardcore ride-or-die folks, you wouldn't be able to have an electoral shot on the national level. And they do rely on these moderates.
Starting point is 00:43:22 It feels weird to say that because if it's more than Trump, it's hard to hard to call you that but uh they rely on people like dan cringe to make the case and so tim miller saying don't redefine what trump stands for to then advocate for him either stand with what trump actually stands for which is disastrous you justify the fact that he tried to unlawfully stay in power last time he was president torching our constitution was what he was willing to do in the interest of that you justify that or you get on our side because in our movement we don't have to agree on a lot of policies but we do have to agree on the fundamental foundational constitutional principles that MAGA has abandoned so you're either over there or you're standing with all that stuff from Trump
Starting point is 00:44:10 it's different than I disagree with Kamala on this position or in times gone by I disagree with the Republican on this issue but I think they're the better option because the foundation foundational things have to come first and dan crenshaw is seemingly willing to look past or he has the wrong stance on the foundational stuff those fundamental things like a basic respect for democracy and so i love that tim miller flipped it around and went no no you're not i don't care if if some moment Harris was kind of vague. I'd like her not to be. But then the moment right after that clip, probably, as we've seen so often, she gets much more specific.
Starting point is 00:44:53 I'd like to know why you think that's more consequential than all that Trump stands for. And I'd like to know why you criticize that and, excuse me, and not, as Tim Miller put it, Trump being far, far worse, not even comparable with the word salads he delivers. Occasionally, just to subject myself to it, I watch Fox News, not just in clip form, but try to watch it on television in longer form to see, as a Fox News viewer, what is the world I'm living in? And it's a crazy one. And so often the most irritating part of it is having to sit there as people say things that you know could so easily be debunked, pushed back against, smacked down. And you just sit there and no one does it.
Starting point is 00:45:45 And you're just thinking, what? But sometimes one person does it. And that's Jessica Tarlov on The Five. Let's check in on her. She's, of course, the one liberal on this five member show. And here is the first clip. No, but the reality is often when you're talking about, you know, some of these third-term abortions.
Starting point is 00:46:08 It's about protecting yourself. That's not the reality. That's what you want to tell people, the reality. No, that is a reality in some states. But the bottom line is Donald Trump is protecting women in terms of law and order. Are you kidding me? Law and order.
Starting point is 00:46:22 As the criminals run through this country and they're bailed out because people like Kamala Harris made a decision that we can bail everybody out? You just said that women are overwhelmingly Democrat. There are more women voters. Right? You guys have
Starting point is 00:46:37 you can vote for abortion. Go for it. No one's stopping you. What? He means, I guess, on the the state level you can do it hey greg sometimes we think that rights should be universal for people i don't want to hope that eventually in this red state the state legislatures who we've seen are willing to go further than their people want them to in these extreme bans. I don't want to hope that ultimately something gets put on the ballot that then people can go out to vote for to get their rights back. How about we just, like we do with so many others, make it a national right like it was for 50 years like it was before all of these terrible and heartbreaking stories were having to be told about the outcome of overturning roe v wade
Starting point is 00:47:33 and one of the things that you really have to look out for and by the way i do have more clips from this to play for you is if someone has a weak argument and especially conspiracy theorists maga conspiracy theorists especially especially do this a lot what they'll do is when they get cornered they just throw it to a different topic and so you never feel like you got that slam dunk. We've completed this topic and you've conceded because it's, well, this thing, well, that thing. And you saw it there. Jeanine Pirro was saying something about late term abortions and Jessica Tarlow was was correcting her on it. And Jeanine Pirro goes, well, OK, well, well, the reason that Trump's a protector of women then is because of public safety. He's going to keep them safe.
Starting point is 00:48:28 And so then Jessica Tarlow goes, well, crime's plummeting under Biden-Harris. So then Greg Gottfeld goes, well, vote for abortion then. If you can't stick on an issue, you probably are the one losing the argument and even i think every issue right now in politics every topic could logically reasonably and incorrectly be brought back to how trump threatens democracy because that's the foundation of everything right but even so in my personal life when someone will well, I don't want to talk about that. I don't know. I need to look into the fake electric scheme, whatever.
Starting point is 00:49:08 Can we just debate over the economy? I'll say, yes, we're going to come back to the democracy thing because that's foundational. But I also believe that you're incorrect on your economic position. So let me explain. And then we can talk about that as long as they'd like to. There's no need to go, what about january 6th because i believe that i'm informed enough to talk about one issue at a time when you're not you have to what about your way around in circles until someone gives up and stops talking to you next clip but this mich thing, and obviously we desperately need to win Michigan,
Starting point is 00:49:45 but on the ground, I don't see this on Tuesday. J.D. Vance had a rally there and there were guys wearing auto workers for Trump shirts that weren't actually auto workers. So just paid to wear the T-shirt there when there was the auto worker strike. Joe Biden on the picket line. Donald Trump had a rally that he said was in support of the unions, but was at a non-union plant because the union workers didn't want him there with him. Yeah, Trump has really, well, in some ways, effectively tricked people into thinking he's but even then he's tried to act like i'm also here in solidarity with the strikers uh when when biden was getting positive press for becoming the first president to strike with uaw and it's a it's a really unfortunate phenomenon because it's true a lot of working class people support trump despite him being so openly and brazenly against their interests this is just a short clip but jenny imperio also said this donald trump you just saw him i mean
Starting point is 00:50:52 he's relatable he's seen as cool uh and he has a swagger there's donald you can't disagree with that when i think man i have not used this word in ages when i think swagger i think don trump okay that's that's the strongest association in my brain uh and then more from jessica tarloff i hope so they're definitely trying it's top of mind with all of this and i do appreciate the explanation of world of warcraft but the point was being on a twitch stream where a majority of young men are spending their time and I wouldn't be surprised if we saw Donald Trump also on a twitch stream before we go to vote on November 5th it's smart to go where the people's are outreach especially to black men is something
Starting point is 00:51:42 that they're focused on things like bar barbershop tours, doing a lot of focus grouping in these blue wall states to talk to young men about what their lives are like, what their priorities are, the economy coming up over and over again. I'm wanting to know specifically what is the deliverable? What did you do for me as part of the Biden-Harris administration? What will be different in the Harris-Walls administration? But I find it difficult to sit for all of these discussions about how the Democrats are blowing it with men and this is irredeemable and, you know, we're terrible and we belittle, et cetera, when the gender gap on the other side with women is bigger than the gap with men. So Donald Trump is losing to Kamala Harris with women 15 to 20 points, which is bigger than the margins of any Republicans have before. And I don't hear the Republican, you know,
Starting point is 00:52:37 tour about women. I just hear him even on with Andrew Schultz doubling down on, you know, it was good to get rid of Roe. That's no problem. And Andrew Schultz set him even on with andrew schultz doubling down on you know it was good to get rid of roe that's no problem and andrew schultz set him up perfectly with a hilarious joke about how baron is such a stud and bet you're feeling bad about getting rid of roe v wade and trump can't even nail it because it's so ludicrous that he's a quote protector of women that's the outreach to these women who are saying the Republican Party has abandoned us. They do not care about our needs. They do not understand our health. They do not understand our health care issues. They don't understand family planning. They don't even know how it
Starting point is 00:53:17 works. You don't even have. And that's where Greg got Phil jumps in, but his response will make me rant for 10 minutes, so I'm not going to do that today for you. But it is just, separate from the morality of it, strategically very, very wacky to be getting feedback over and over and over that says people, or I should say specifically women, are abandoning you, Trump. They're abandoning you. And for your reaction to go, okay, I'm not going to change my policy stances. I'm not going to try to hear why that might be, but I'm your protector, so come back. And then it's a really interesting and accurate point from Jessica Tarlow that drives me crazy about how when a trend goes one way or there's a gap that's favorable to Republicans, they'll say that's why the Democrats are out of touch. The Democrats are alienating people. The Democrats are elitist snobs. The Democrats hate the working class, etc. So with working class men, that will be their argument.
Starting point is 00:54:26 See, look at the polls. With working class women or women at large or any other group that we could talk about where the numbers look more favorable for Democrats, Republicans never turn that back on themselves. And Trump goes verbatim, that's BS is what he said about the women polling and also similarly and this drives me crazy i do believe that it's important which is why actually the very beginning of my journey in this field it was doing correspondent work talking to trump supporters for the david hackman show and one of the reasons I found that important aside from just the sort of entertainment value of it and the interest around it was to know that I was talking face to face with people who are of this block of people that I find so unreasonable irrational and i want to make sure i'm not arguing against a straw man
Starting point is 00:55:29 and maybe this isn't a real group of people talking the way they do it's real i can tell you it's real um so i i totally am willing to say if a lot of people support a candidate we don't have to agree with them we don't have to share their views or normalize their views to at least go in and go what what is this let's at least understand it maybe just so we can know how to better oppose those views and then bring people over but always wanting to hear and figure out why people believe what they do i do think is important but you see wall to wall especially right when trump came onto the scene coverage of mainstream media of of wow so many people elected trump what is trump tapping into what is the truth that he's tapping into
Starting point is 00:56:19 how did democrats F up so much? But then never is there a segment on Fox News going, why did 81 MFing people vote for Joe Biden when we say he's the embodiment of Satan? Let's listen. Let's hear what people are saying and try to empathize with it. There's never that. There's constantly that on the other side. Those double standards drive me crazy, crazy. I will request one more time for you to go over and subscribe to me at Luke Beasley on YouTube if you're enjoying today's show and then podcast listeners by searching on any podcast platform, Luke Beasley. We have quite the time. And here Trump spoke in Detroit.
Starting point is 01:00:15 These events are just getting wilder and wilder, more unhinged and more unhinged. Let's just jump right into it. No, sir. They love it. And I haven't noticed anybody leaving. There was one gentleman over there, but he came back. He went to the bathroom. And what the fake news will do is take a picture of one empty seat, say people are fleeing. Now they don't flee. Nobody's fleeing. Nobody's leaving. I always watch if they start to leave. I just end the speech. Thank you very much, ladies and gentlemen. We're going to make America great again. Enjoy. put out into the world his obsession. It's one thing for him to have this bizarre fixation with crowd size and people and Harris saying that people leave his rallies makes him freak out.
Starting point is 01:01:12 But it's a whole nother thing for him to say it out loud where then it becomes so easy to criticize him. But if people did leave this event, I would not blame them. My assumption is if you were sitting in the crowd, this whole event would shock you. I'll try to portray that the best I can with the clips that we have, starting with this. Try your very best to decipher what it is that Trump's saying here. It's a very big plant. Many countries, they do that. And then all of a sudden, you hear that they're leaving Milwaukee or they're leaving wherever they may be located. It's very sad to see it. And it's so simple. I mean, you know, this isn't like Elon with his rocket ships that land within 12 inches on the moon where they wanted to land or he gets the engines back. That was the first I realized. I said, who the hell did that? I saw engines about
Starting point is 01:02:06 three, four years ago. These things were coming, cylinders, no wings, no nothing. And they're coming down very slowly, landing on a raft in the middle of the ocean someplace with a circle. Boom. Reminded me of the Biden circles that he used to have, right? He'd have eight circles and he couldn't fill them up. But then I heard he beat us with the popular vote. I don't know. I don't know. Couldn't fill up the eight circles. I always loved those circles. They were so beautiful.
Starting point is 01:02:35 It's honestly like how a kid tells a story. And you're trying to follow. Okay, so the car, you spilled your drink, and then later you went to a park. And then, I'm sorry, I'm trying to, the circles, because the rocket is an engine that goes down like a cylinder on a circle like Biden's circles. And you could decipher it, what he's saying at least there but the free association of thoughts as if he's just chatting with some people when he's at a political speech in the final stretch before an election is all very very weird then here yes he brought it up every time he's in michigan i swear, okay, I swear I was named Michigan Man
Starting point is 01:03:27 of the Year. A big problem in our country is the fake news. We have such fake news. I mean, I've had a recent thing where, as an example, an Obama disciple named Peter Baker, he writes for the failing New York Times, he wrote a piece about me. And just one of the many things he said that was wrong, but he said that I would go around saying that I was honored here years ago as the man of the year or whatever. And I talked about how your car industry, this was long before, many years before I ran for president,
Starting point is 01:04:03 maybe 18, 20 years ago. And he made the statement that that never took place, that honor never took place. I was never honored here, which was quite insulting, actually. I didn't remember the specifics of it. It was 18 or 20 years ago. But he said it never took place. Very like kamala she said she worked at mcdonald's and she didn't and i didn't want to get into that so what i did is i asked my people you gotta find it when it was like 19 years 70 it was a long time but i was honored and guess what they found that i was so the story gets better because i'll explain what he's about the show but the obsessions it's so weird uh the point i made when we covered this before on my show was harris was right at these events it's all about him talking about himself.
Starting point is 01:05:06 His own grievance is not about the audience. Right here. Nice looking young guy. No, it was a long time ago, so this was in... We looked at that photo in the segment when we did before. That photo was from a CNN town hall not a long time ago. Let's see. This was an update of the article that they originally printed.
Starting point is 01:05:32 It says Oakland County GOP to honor Donald Trump, former president, to speak at upcoming Lincoln Day fundraising dinner. And it says down here, the county party gave Trump the Man of the Year Award at the dinner, too. And he was honored as Man of the Year. So here's your article right here. Oakland Press, Oakland County GOP to honor Trump. Okay. So I will say, now that in preparation for segments, of course, I watched the clips. And then I watched them while we're doing them. And normally that's it.
Starting point is 01:06:13 But because I'm doing it on this show as well, that's now the third time I've watched that. And it never gets more sane, these clips, I have to tell you. So I showed like the articles and stuff before but just to really quickly summarize for viewers who watch both shows so you don't have to hear it all again essentially the current chair of the oakland county republican party in 2023 held a lincoln day dinner for trump to honor him as the michigan man of the decade after years of him telling that man of the year lie clearly to make him feel better about it. So a Republican party in Michigan went, we'll honor you now in 2023 when you said it was 20 years ago you got this. Then that person
Starting point is 01:06:58 was asked, was Trump honored by the Oakland County Republican Party before? And the person went, yeah, in 2013 at this dinner. And Trump had previously referenced that dinner. Well, then we go to the person who chaired that dinner, and he says, never happened. The dinner happened. We didn't honor him as the Michigan Man of the Year. So the current share of the – think about how sad this is, how much is done to protect Trump's ego. The current share of the Oakland County Republican Party lied that in 2013 Trump got an award, which by the way, 2013 wouldn't be 20 years ago. So that he could then be honored as the man of the decade in 2023 so that they could say that he wasn't lying.
Starting point is 01:07:47 But the person who organized that dinner said that's not what happened at all in 2013. The one that they say was the one that Trump has been referencing, even though he's been saying dates that wouldn't have lined up with that. It's all crazy. But the things they do, they built an entire media ecosystem around the big lie to protect protect trump's ego meaning around the election lies they created videos that look suspicious to make trump feel better about the fact they lost joe biden this is maga's big boy this is the person they want to be the most powerful person in the world. A guy who has an entire series of the most destructive conspiracy theories in the history of this country created just because he's such a sensitive snowflake.
Starting point is 01:08:38 And now he has to get Republicans to surround him telling him, no, you were honored as the Michigan man of the year because you're, you're not just the Michigan man of the year. You're the world's man of the year. It's pitiful. Then this. I have more complaints on grocery, the word grocery, you know, it's sort of simple word, but it sort of means like everything you eat, the stomach is speaking it always does and i have more complaints about that it sounded like a some sort of bulls are poem grocery it's sort of like all the things you eat the sounds of our stomach roar as i want to eat more um than this we allowed them to come in and raid and rape our country
Starting point is 01:09:30 that's what they did oh he used the word rape that's right i used the word he raped our country so now he's having conversations with himself uh then a little bit more. That's up for whoever is going to be a next president. I think Kamala, it's not going to be high on her list. I don't think anything that we're talking about today is high on her list. The whole country is going to be like, you want to know the truth? It'll be like Detroit. Our whole country will end up being like Detroit if she's your president. You're going to have a mess on your hands. She destroyed San Francisco. Did I say this to y'all earlier? You see it if you're a video viewer. If you're a podcast listener, he's speaking in Detroit. A little weird. A little weird to go to a city and say, elect me. Because if you don't, the whole country is going to be like you.
Starting point is 01:10:32 Very weird. Then he says something that while his intended point is ridiculous, I think I might agree with it. You know, they're destroying our country. You see, that's the real threat to democracy, stupid people. That's the threat. Our biggest threat to democracy is stupid people. And I'm thinking about one right now. And then he goes over and does a Q&A and says this.
Starting point is 01:11:00 It's a little bit that, I think, more than anything else. And I enjoy what I do. And I love this, you know, despite I could be right now in the most beautiful ocean on the sand, exposing my really beautiful body. So beautiful. To the sun and the surf. And he's actually been bringing up much more frequently lately. And I know he thinks it's just like the funniest thing that anyone's ever said. But he's been bringing up this this i could be on a beach and my body's more beautiful than biden is something he said before and i have a better body i'm just
Starting point is 01:11:30 so hot and sexy as you can so clearly see um and i could be doing that instead of this i know that david talked about how while it's difficult to believe trump would not want to win this election, and I personally think he does want to win the election, I see, though, why people are going, does he even want this? Why is he doing everything wrong strategically? Which the sad part is he could do everything wrong and still win. But why, if he really wanted to win and his freedom might be on the line with his legal cases why is he messing things up so much and being so impulsive and and driving this thing into the ground as much as he can and maybe it's because he wants to go be
Starting point is 01:12:16 be uh shirtless on the beach he's seen the videos of Biden. He's thinking, I want that, as he repeats so many times. All disturbing in how absurd it is. And that is it for today's show. Thank you all so much for watching. I've said it before, but it's always special to come back guest host, given this is where it all started. And everyone have an absolutely wonderful weekend.
