Well my friends, it brings me no pleasure at all to report to you that Trump is getting
away with it.
They're eating the cats.
You know what I'm talking about.
After his sentencing in his 34 felony count conviction in New York. I already told you that his sentencing has
been postponed indefinitely. And now special counsel Jack Smith, after indicting Donald
Trump on a small mountain of federal charges, has filed motions to drop them. And a judge
has agreed to fully dismiss the 2020 election interference case about Donald
against Donald Trump.
Why?
Well, because Trump's victory means that Department of Justice tradition, not legal policy tradition,
says we don't prosecute sitting presidents, which Trump will soon be. Yes, the same Trump who claimed
that the prosecutions were a political witch hunt is now being shielded by a DOJ policy or
convention meant to ensure that presidents can focus on running the country without pesky distractions like multiple felony
indictments and trials. This was the first time in American history that a president
faced federal charges for clinging to power and obstructing justice. And yet here we are
watching the cases evaporate like a MAGA hat in the wind, like a miracle.
Trump's victory, of course, fueled by just under 50 percent of voters shrugging off January
6th and four years of chaos and putting him back into power.
And it has once again proven that irony is alive and well, but so is ignorance.
We're going to talk about the ignorance element in a moment.
Speaking of weaponized justice system, the Supreme Court's conservative majority didn't
just help Trump in this entire legal battle.
They practically gift wrapped immunity with a bow.
Their July ruling granted sweeping protect protections to presidential actions, making
sure that pesky accountability wouldn't interrupt, you know, his golf schedule or whatever he's
getting up to.
And then meanwhile, judge Eileen cannon, the Trump appointed judge overseeing the classified
documents case dismissed that one entirely.
Her reasoning was that Jack Smith wasn't properly appointed, which by the way, is an opinion
not widely shared by too many legal experts.
So that's where we are today.
I wish it were somewhere else, but we have to deal with reality as it is not as we would
wish it to be.
And with the cases dismissed and the DOJ policies
saying we're just not going to prosecute, we are also expecting Jack Smith to resign
before Donald Trump takes office and his team. The one sort of interesting or depressing thing
is that Jack Smith's team now has to file a report explaining why did you choose to ask for
the charges to be dropped? And I can only imagine
that that's going to be one of the most depressing documents I could read. It's going to be more
depressing than a Russian novel. Let me put it that way. A Trump spokesman, of course, bragging,
saying that the drop charges are, quote, a victory for the rule of law, which is a real irony
considering the allegations
are extremely well documented against Trump and they point to Trump being the criminal,
not Trump being the victim.
It's all completely backwards and it is true that Maga world sees this as a vindication.
It's not what this should be seen as is an indictment of a completely broken justice
system that claims no one is above the
law, but Trump's above the law. I mean, there's no other way to say it, but instead they say, no,
it is the rule of law that now Trump gets away with everything. So what's next? Trump becomes
president. Uh, and then we have to see what happens with the cases of the Trump rioters.
That will sort of be the next battle line of law and order.
Many of the rioters have already said, I regret even believing what Trump said about the election
back in 2020. I regret getting involved. I regret all of it. And yet Donald Trump has promised to
pardon at least some of the rioters. He's even called them patriots. He's called them the J six hostages. So we're going to see, we have learned that
you are not above the law unless you are president or unless maybe you rioted in favor of a guy
who is once again going to be president. And, uh, what this will leave us, you might be
wondering, is this it is, are these all the cases against
Trump? No, we still have the Georgia election interference trial. That's a state case.
It's not going to trial anytime soon. And then, as I mentioned, the sentencing for Trump in New
York has been postponed indefinitely. Some are saying 2029, at which point Trump would be what, 83 and leaving his second term in office.
So I'm as frustrated as everybody else about how this played out.
I do think it's worth mentioning this really isn't on Jack Smith.
Jack Smith was appointed too late by Merrick Garland.
That's Merrick Garland's fault.
Had Jack Smith been appointed earlier, maybe more could
have been done. Um, we had judge Eileen cannon, a Trump appointed judge interfering further to help
Trump, the inevitable role of the Supreme court in saying that anything that is even remotely
arguable as an official act, Trump has immunity for that wiped out further possibility for accountability.
And now Jack Smith, you know, he's now going to have a target on his back no matter what
he does or where he goes because he is one of the big enemies and political adversaries
of Trump and Maga and of Trumpism.
So a lot of blame to go around here, no doubt.
But I don't know that it is Jack Smith who is to blame.
He was sort of working in the
environment and with the parameters that, uh, that were given to him. Merrick Garland, however,
you can certainly say the slow walking on the appointment of the special counsel,
certainly part of the problem. All right. I want to tackle this next subject delicately
and with tact, but I do have to tackle it. This is one of those topics where no matter how you
phrase it, someone's going to say, David, what an asshole, what an asshole that you're being.
But I think this is too important to let it slide. So let, let me, let me lay this out.
Last week, I pointed out in a discussion about Trump having a plurality, but not a majority of the vote. I pointed out that
21 percent of the country is functionally illiterate. What I mean by that is one out of
five adults, roughly 20, 21 percent, one out of five adults does not read beyond a sixth grade
level. And in a sense, that works fine. If Trump speaks at a sixth grade level and the, you know,
20% of the adult public doesn't read beyond a sixth grade level.
But the point is you really can't communicate nuanced ideas to people whose literacy doesn't
go beyond grade six.
So we've talked about this in terms of how it influences policy and politics and what
people fall for. So then I'm on TikTok
and I come across a video of a guy who goes by your bummy math tutor, also known as math guy
doing basic multiplication. And as I looked at this video, which I'm going to play,
I thought to myself, who on earth is this video for? Because the video is of this guy explaining
like you would to a little kid. How do you multiply point eight by point twelve? Now,
right away you look at it. Eight times twelve is ninety six and there are three decimal places.
So it's point zero nine six. This is instant mental math.
It's multiplication tables and knowing decimal points. Eight times 12 is 96.
Move the decimal point three spots point nine six. It is only one more step beyond three times nine.
We learned this in fourth grade. But you look at the comments on this video and I'll play it in a moment. And people are saying, why isn't the answer 0.96, for example?
And of course, if you look at it and you say, what's 80 percent of 0.12, it couldn't possibly
be 0.96.
80 percent of 0.12 can't be more than 0.12.
OK, so TikTok in the United States is for 13 plus. 0.12 can't be more than 0.12. Okay.
So tick tock in the United States is for 13 plus.
If you're younger, it's a different app with different safety features.
You wouldn't see this creator's content.
13 year olds are in seventh to ninth grade depending on your state and your birth date.
Is this video for adults?
So check it out.
I'm going to play the video for you and then I want to talk about it in some more detail. All right. The average American can't
do this question. Yes, you could use a calculator for this, but let me show you how you can do it
without a calculator. So first let's break down the bare numbers. So we have eight and I see 12.
So first you can do just eight times 12 and you can do that in your head or you just do 12 times
eight, two times eight gives you 16, carry the 1.
8 times 1 is 8, plus 1, which is 96.
Now, that means that you have to work with the number 96.
So what do you have to do?
Now we have to calculate how many decimals we have.
So looking at the number 0.8, how many decimal places do we have?
So the idea is that to go from this decimal place to the last digit,
we just have to move it once.
So that's one decimal place.
And how about 0.12? In 0.12, we have to move 1, 2 to get to the last digit. So that's one decimal place. And how about 0.12? In 0.12,
we have to move one, two to get to the last digit. So that's two decimal places. So in total,
how many decimal places are we moving? We're moving one plus two, which is going to be three
decimal places. So in this case, with the number 96, moving to the left three decimal places. So
we start from here, move one, two, and then three. So we end up right there, which means we have to add the extra zero,
meaning your answer is 0.096. Okay. Now, if you don't know this math instantly,
when you look at 0.8 times 0.12, this isn't about making fun of you. If anything, it's,
it's almost like there are victims out there, victims of the educational system,
victims of a growing culture of non-thinking, but what is going on here? And I know some people are going to say, David, you prick with you, you smug prick with your
private school, this or that.
I want to know private schools, I guess, for grad school.
Technically, I did.
But elementary school, middle school, high school, undergrad, public or state schools.
It's not about that.
The other day I met a guy.
We were talking about a driveway paving job and he goes, OK, let me see. Uh, the number was 112 and he needed
to add 20%. He goes 112 and we've got to add 20% of that. And I see the guy struggling now
instantly in my head. That's 22.4, right? A hundred. If you've got 112, uh, 10% of that is
11.2. And then you just double it. It's 22.4. That's how you get 20, 20%. You take 10% of
something and you double it. This guy's struggling. He takes out a calculator and I go, Oh, it's 22.4. All right.
How did we get here? But most importantly, this isn't a math show. What does it mean about our
politics? If a significant portion of the population struggles with basic critical thinking,
understanding foundational concepts, understanding things that kids learn
when they are nine.
How on earth can we expect them to evaluate policy proposals?
Think about Trump's proposals, tax cuts or tariffs or health care on the surface.
They're often sold as good for everybody.
Of course, the reality is if you don't understand nuance, you can't possibly
engage critically with it. Trump will tell you tariffs are great for America. We're really
sticking it to China and people go, yeah, we are. But they don't realize tariffs are essentially
taxes paid by American consumers. It's basic economics. The cost gets passed down to us.
But if you're not equipped to process that, you buy the sound
bite and you miss the impact when you consider limited language capabilities of people who
write into the show. You know, sometimes I'll feature these, these messages I get from people
furious with me. They're clearly American. They, they clearly only speak, speak English.
They can barely string a coherent sentence together in written form.
This has real consequences.
It's not about laughing at people.
So we really are in this wild situation.
It's not about multiplying decimals together in your head or calculating percentages.
It's about equipping people with the tools to navigate the world and not get duped by
the slick talking points and empty promises of a populist sounding demagogue.
And that's how people end up being sold a lot of these ideas.
Now, I'm not claiming Trump won because people can't do math.
OK, that's that's not the point.
But what I am saying is that in general, aside from which candidate motivates people to turn
out or did, how did Trump's turnout compare with 2020 or Harris versus Biden's and increased
decrease shrink ring of the electorate demographic, all that stuff is real.
But also also when education has been deliberately decimated by Republicans for decades and you
end up with a large share of the population that can't string together a coherent one
paragraph email, I get it all the time, can't do basic math.
Of course they fall for stuff like if I put tariffs on everybody now it's Canada and Mexico
too.
We'll talk about that later in the show.
Of course they fall for it and they don't go, wait a second. I can actually figure this out for myself. What happened? So
I don't have an answer, uh, in my book, my forthcoming book. Of course I talk about
in public education, we need to be teaching critical thinking, media literacy and epistemology.
But if critical, if, if you decimate funding for public education, where are they going
to get the money to teach those things?
So it's not the easy solution that maybe we would hope for.
Let me know your thoughts.
I'm not trying to be a smug prick as Dave Rubin called me.
I'm trying to talk about a real issue.
I want to hear from you.

Donald Trump is already laying the groundwork to manipulate the economy. And if you've been
paying attention to his latest social media outbursts
about tariffs, you hopefully will see them for what they are. Now we're going to look in detail
at Trump's latest tariff proposal involving Mexico and Canada in a moment. But before even doing that,
I do think it's important to understand the context and what Trump is trying to do.
Donald Trump is intentionally trying to hurt the economy
now so he can look like a savior later. And I want to explain to you how this works because it's
really classic Trump and it's very dangerous and it doesn't take into consideration what's going on
for people in Iowa. It's simply what does Trump think is good for him? And the strategy really is
overly simple. If Trump can tank the economy
now before Joe Biden leaves office, Biden gets stuck with the blame. It hurts Biden's
economic record and it also gives Donald Trump more headroom to quote, fix it when he comes
into office. Most people aren't pouring over the details of economic policy. They're looking
at what's happening right now in the moment. If markets crash, if unemployment ticks up, if prices surge,
voters will say Biden was still president at that time. I mean, it's November going into December.
Biden is the president. Trump knows this. And Trump's goal is to inflict as much damage as
possible between now and January 20th so
that Biden's economic numbers are as bad as they can possibly be when Biden peacefully
relinquishes the oval office to Trump.
But this isn't only about making Biden look bad because by hurting the economy now, Trump
lowers the baseline for his own presidency. When he takes office,
any recovery, no matter how small, will make it look like Trump has turned the ship around.
So think of it right now. The Dow is around 44,500 roughly, but plus or minus a few hundred
points. If Trump takes over with the Dow at 44,500, that's now his baseline for growth.
If Trump takes over and the Dow is down at forty two thousand, this gives Trump an additional
twenty five hundred points of breathing room that he can take credit for if the stock market
eventually goes back up.
So imagine inheriting an economy that's been deliberately destabilized and sabotaged.
So then growth that would otherwise seem mediocre all of a sudden looks great when you're starting
from the rubble rather than from where we are right now.
Trump would get to ride the wave of improvement while pretending that the chaos he caused
was actually the fault of Joe Biden.
And we've seen this before.
Back during his first term, Trump repeatedly hyped these small gains in the stock market as evidence
of his brilliance, even though they were often just part of the broader economic trends. And
now Trump is trying to set himself up to repeat the trick. Only this time he's intentionally doing the sabotage. It's
economic arson disguised as just being tough on trade. And it isn't without consequence because
these threats of tariffs that we're going to look at in a moment, the other destabilizing moves,
these aren't going to hurt Trump's billionaire buddies. This isn't going to hurt the corporations
that bankroll Trump's campaign. This is't going to hurt the corporations that bankroll Trump's campaign.
This is all going to hurt average working people, middle class families who are going
to feel the squeeze of paying a little bit more or have lost jobs or reduced economic
stability.
Businesses that rely on steadiness in the markets will struggle.
Consumers will spend less because they have less and Trump doesn't care about any
of it. What he wants is hurt Biden's economic record as much as he can. And what makes this
even more insidious is the word I'd use is that Trump knows he can count on a friendly right wing
media machine to help him sell the story when the economy hopefully inevitably
improves from the artificially low baseline Trump is trying to generate. Fox News and others are
going to trumpet Trump's economic genius. The same outlets that will ignore or downplay the
current damage Trump is doing by talking about these wild tariffs are going to be the loudest cheerleaders if and when the
supposed comeback takes place. So I'm going to analyze the new tariff proposal because it's
important to understand it. But it's also just as important to know that there is a reason Trump is
announcing these whacked out tariffs now and it's in order to try to hurt Joe Biden. Now, that all being said, that
it's not really a disclaimer, but that context now provided. Let's talk about Donald Trump's
latest proposal. Remember when Donald Trump promised to lower prices to help out all
Americans, we're going to have lower bread prices, lower gas prices, lower beer prices, lower egg prices.
Of course, construction prices will come down.
Everything's going to be cheaper under Trump.
What we need to be ready for is to pay more for pretty much everything.
Trump is making a new policy announcement and the announcement is that in addition to
China, he's going to put new tariffs on Mexico,
our biggest trading partner, as well as Canada.
And this is the guy who swore up and down.
He's going to make life cheaper for you and for me.
He is now driving up the cost of your avocados, your smartphones, probably your toilet paper.
And God knows Trump goes through a lot of that.
Baruch Hashem.
These tariffs are just taxes in disguise.
And the people that will foot the bill, it's not Trump.
It's not Wall Street.
It's you.
It's me.
It's everybody else.
Trump is going to make America great again by you paying more for stuff.
Here is Trump making the announcement on truth central, central, right?
Here is Trump yesterday quote, as everyone is aware, thousands of people are pouring
through Mexico and Canada, bringing crime and drugs at levels never seen before.
That's already a lie. Right now, a caravan coming from Mexico
composed of thousands of people seems to be unstoppable in its quest to come through our
currently open border. Of course, the border is not open and caravan should, uh, tickle your
pandering sense, uh, which Trump loves to talk about caravans when it's convenient,
then he never talks about it when he's in office. On January 20th, as one as much as one of my very
first of many first executive orders, I will sign all necessary documents to charge Mexico
and Canada a twenty five percent tariff on all products coming into the United States and its ridiculous open borders.
This tariff will remain in effect until such time as drugs, in particular fentanyl, and all illegal aliens stop this invasion of our country.
Both Mexico and Canada have the absolute right and power to easily solve this
long simmering problem. We hereby demand that they use this power. And until such time that they do,
it is time for them to pay a very big price. You know, proposing a 25 percent tariff on all imports
from Mexico and Canada shows something we knew, which is Trump doesn't
understand economics because the tariffs don't just harm the exporting country. They raise costs
here in the United States for businesses and for consumers. This is Trump announcing a new tax on
Americans. And of course, suggesting that Mexico and Canada alone can solve the drug crisis ignores that the reason the drugs
are coming here is because there is demand here for them. What about dealing with that aspect?
Trump then continues with another troth where he says, quote, I have had many talks with China
about the massive amounts of drugs, in particular fentanyl being sent into the United States,
but to no avail. Representatives of China told me that they would institute their maximum penalty,
that of death for any drug dealers caught doing this. But unfortunately, they never followed
through and drugs are pouring into our country, mostly through Mexico at levels never seen before.
Until such time as they stop, we will be charging China an additional 10 percent tariff above
any additional tariffs on all of their many products coming into the United States.
Thank you for your attention to, to this matter. So a 10% tariff on Chinese imports is framed as punishment,
but would likely backfire. It'll just increase costs for American businesses and consumers.
Economists know this. Now you might say, what is Trump really trying to accomplish with his
tariffs? Well, there's two aspects to this. George Conway explains one aspect of it on blue sky where he says it's a mistake to ask
this question because it assumes Trump's rationality.
He wants to do this because it makes him feel powerful.
He doesn't care if the effects are good or bad.
Indeed, the more destruction he causes or the more people fear destruction he may cause,
the more powerful he feels.
Now, George is of course correct, but in addition, it's what we talked about earlier.
Trump wants to rattle the markets as much as possible right now in order to hurt Biden's
economic record.
The Trump at the end of the day knows that when the transfer of power happens on January
20th, wherever Biden leaves things is the starting point for Trump.
If unemployment remains low on January 20th, how's Trump going to reduce it?
It would probably go up or stay the same.
If the stock market is at another record high on January 20th, that makes it harder for
Trump to reach new ground with the stock market.
So anything Trump can do in the interim to raise inflation, raise unemployment, lower
the stock market, it all sets Trump up to have more breathing room, to have a record
to brag about.
Now, as I've said before, I want the country to do well no matter who is president.
But this is downright cruel because Trump doesn't suffer as a result.
Trump's wealthy friends don't suffer as a result. Trump's wealthy friends don't suffer as a result,

The David Pakman Show David Pakman dot com. MSNBC, CNN, they are bleeding viewers like it's the end of the cable television era.
And maybe it is.
That's what we have to consider.
So let's look at some of the numbers.
New York Times reports viewers flee MSNBC and flock to Fox News in the wake of the election.
Primetime viewership at MSNBC down 53 percent from October, up 21 percent on Fox News ad week reports. Fox News wins the week,
but still loses viewers. This was the immediate aftermath pointing out that, according to Fox
News, they drew a 69 percent share of the cable news audience, 72 percent share in primetime. That's their best in 28 years.
Meanwhile, MSNBC and CNN are at the bottom of their historical viewership. And then Yahoo News,
MSNBC viewership craters, 38 percent, CNN down 27 percent. Fox News audience jumps 41 percent
post election. There is a lot to talk about here.
Post election drop offs are not unusual. We saw it, too, for three days. You'll many of you
much to your dismay will remember that I talked about it a couple of times.
What you kind of have is oftentimes there's a general tune out after the election. The losers kind of lick their wounds and go home.
The winners take a victory lap, which could explain some of Fox News's bump.
Everybody might tune out for a little while, but something different seems to be happening
here that this is increasingly not smelling like the we're just taking a break from politics on
corporate media moment.
There seems to be something broader going on.
People are tired.
People are disillusioned with what they get from corporate media.
And many are realizing, wow, it was the influencer election, the social media election, the independent
creator election.
We had our best viewership ever in August and September and to some degree, October
ever, ever, ever.
And a lot of people seem to be saying, I may be tuning out for now or not from news and
politics in general, but I don't know that I'm going back to CNN or
MSNBC when I come back and there's not been a lot to be hopeful about over the last few
weeks, but this is kind of making me feel like actually we're doing okay.
We had this two day decline.
Um, and we're, we're back.
We're kind of, we're not at the September, October record numbers.
But to give you a sense, you know, pre-election, we had this sort of baseline of one one to one
point four million views a day on YouTube during the height of the election. You know,
four million views a day, four point five million views a day. But things have sort of settled around 2 million
views a day, 1.8, 2.3. This means that even after this kind of come down 50 percent down on MSNBC,
et cetera, we're still kind of double where we were a year ago. Now, I'm not really saying
anything groundbreaking here by saying it seems like there's a more
systemic shift from corporate to independent media.
We've known for a while that the networks are more invested in maintaining access to
power rather than challenging it.
But here's the real kind of new part.
More and more people seem to be catching on, you know, just because there's shiny graphics and breaking news banners and 24 hours of pundits recycling the same stale talking points.
That doesn't mean that it's your only option and viewers seem to be coming to independent
media.
They're, they are coming to creators who aren't necessarily beholden to the corporate sponsors
or dictated by party lines.
That's all good.
They're coming to shows like this one.
That's great.
That's incredible.
That being said, the right wing independent media space is way better funded than the
left wing independent media space.
And so we can say it's great that more people are coming to shows like ours, but organizations
like the Daily Wire and Turning Point USA and
others are way better equipped as far as infrastructure and financing. So the shift
is bigger right now than a temporary ratings dip. We seem to be seeing the longer term trend
where the gatekeepers of old school corporate media are losing power. They're losing relevance.
They're losing the ability for four layers of editors to say, you know what, David Parkman,
cause they never even get my name right.
They don't even care.
You know what, David Parkman, we don't want you to have a show.
All right.
Well, if enough people online say they do want me to, then I do. And um, I, I don't want to break any confidences, but I've had some interesting conversations
just with people involved with corporate media over the last three to four months and they're
not offering me anything to be clear.
They seem to recognize what's happening and they're trying to figure out, should we be
doing more on YouTube?
What should we be doing?
So here's the bottom line.
The post election corporate media collapse.
Is it a collapse or is it a dip?
It's a symptom of a much bigger problem and it's certainly a huge opportunity for us.
We know the right is taking advantage of the opportunity.
Hopefully the left will figure out how to do it as well.
If you're here, you're already ahead of the curve.
Let's try to keep building towards something that matters and something that will have
influence.
And for the Democratic Party, you've got to recognize that just considering some interviews
on left wing independent media shows three
weeks before the election, that's not really going to be enough.
You've got to do better and hopefully they will going into the next election cycle.
Um, we have another one of these situations where Fox news gets its black women confused.
You just, you know, I don't even know what the analysis is other than once again, they just got their
black ladies confused. Here is Laura Ingraham putting up a picture of Letitia James while
talking about Fannie Willis, different black woman, Laura. So history is going to remember
Jack Smith and Alvin Bragg, Fannie Willis and the judges will let these cases get as far as they did. Yeah, that is not Fannie Willis.
It is a black woman, but that is not Fannie Willis.
Later in her show, Laura Ingraham apologized about that.
And the apology is pretty rich.
Take a listen.
So history is going to remember Jack Smith and Alvin Bragg, Fannie Willis and the judges.
So let these cases get as far as they did earlier in the angle. We accidentally showed
a graphic that had a photo of another vicious anti-Trump figure, Letitia James, when we
were talking about Fannie Willis. So that was our mistake. But they both they both hate
Trump. All right. Come on. There you go. You know, Laura says we got the wrong Trump hater on the screen. Is that the
only thing that Letitia James and Fannie Willis have in common? Laura? Oops. We lied about the
wrong person, but they happen to both be black women. It is the epitome of stereotyped views on race.
And there is a lot of it floating around with these mega people.
Just yesterday we talked about how Trump doesn't really nominate too many black people to his
cabinet.
And back in his first term, he nominated Ben Carson, a black doctor, to be secretary of
housing and urban development.
And we said, what on earth does Ben
Carson know about that? Maybe Trump thinks because the word urban is in the title, he should pick a
black guy. Could that be it? I don't know. Well, now Trump has again nominated a black guy so far,
the lone black guy to his cabinet, Scott Turner, to lead housing and urban development. It really
seems like Trump hears urban development and assumes
that means I need a black guy for that. Fox news gets its black women confused. You know,
they always say, no, it's you guys are so simplistically minded when you call this stuff
out. It's so wrong. It doesn't seem like there's a more nuanced explanation. They seem to just get confused about the appearance of black women.
They seem to hear urban and think I've got to hire a black guy.
I wish there were a more detail oriented and nuanced analysis of what's going on, but it
just keeps happening the same damn way time and time and time again.
If there's a different explanation,
I want to hear it. Email me info at David Pakman dot com. their power, break free from outdated masculinity norms and find purpose. Integrated men host weekly meetings that guide men in overcoming shame and self-limiting beliefs. If you feel lost,

It's probably only going to be two episodes today and tomorrow, although Trump's next
term might actually give us more material.
The theme is called Trump versus Trump.
We're going to be looking at some of Trump's biggest flip flops and incongruities.
And there's actually not one obvious takeaway from this.
When you hear in a moment, Trump say one thing about trans bathroom access and then another
thing about trans people.
Is it that he doesn't really have an opinion?
Is it that his opinion has changed?
Is it that he's willing to just say whatever? Is it that his opinion has changed? Is it that
he's willing to just say whatever to whichever group of people he's in front of? What's the
reality? And I would submit to you, it kind of doesn't matter. What matters is who does
he bamboozle a trick and grift with these flip flops and how does he ultimately actually govern? But let's give some examples.
Here is old Trump back in 2016 on trans bathrooms, really making it seem like this is not an issue
he cares about. He cares about China, trade economics, but bathrooms let people do whatever
they want. This is 2016 Trump.
Take a listen.
Leave it the way it is right now.
There have been not very few problems.
Leave it the way it is.
North Carolina, what they're going through with all of the business that's leaving and
all of the strife and and that's on both sides.
You leave it the way it is.
There have been very few complaints the way it is.
People go.
They use the bathroom that they feel is appropriate.
There has been so little trouble. Sounds like a different guy, doesn't it? And the problem with
what happened in North Carolina is the strife and the economic, I mean, the economic punishment
that they're taking. So I would say that's probably the best way. Do you have any transgender people
working in your organization? I don't know. No? I really don't know. I probably do. I really don't
know. So if Caitlyn Jenner were to walk into Trump tower and want to use the bathroom, you would be fine with her using
any bathroom she chooses. That is correct. That is a very different Trump from this guy
who seems against inclusive bathrooms, ridicules everything as woke insanity.
This is 2024 Trump now.
I'm not sure it is, but they say it's the most important.
Short inflation is the most important, but that's part of economy.
Kamala Harris wants to be in charge of the entire US economy, but neither she nor her
running mate is to do the beauty, isn't he?
He signed a bill.
He wants tampons in boys' bathrooms.
I don't think so.
Tampons.
But they've never held a private sector job in their entire professional careers.
And it's no wonder they're both socialists. They're actually beyond socialists. I think they skipped over socialists. That's
why I think when people find out because you don't know who these people are, I think when
people find out who they are, I personally don't think they can do well in the election.
So anyway, we could do 100 clips of 2024 Trump viciously anti trans in every single
way, making up stories, et cetera.
This is not unique to just trans issues within the LGBT umbrella.
Of course, this is Trump way back when holding up a, I hope I am saying this correctly, an LGBT flag, uh, that says LGBT
for Trump on it. This is Trump years and years ago during his 2016 campaign, in fact, and a very,
very different situation today as Trump is reportedly planning to kick trans troops out of the military within
days of being inaugurated.
That is a very different Donald Trump than the one we saw before.
We're actually going to dig more deeply in tomorrow's Trump versus Trump on the issue
of Trump on gay marriage because there's a lot there as well.
And then famously, this is one of the
the the biggest ones. Here is Trump calling himself very, very pro choice, which, by the
way, I believe is the real position of Trump. Here was Donald Trump on the abortion issue
when he appeared on Meet the Press with Tim Russert back in 99. Let's watch.
Well, look, I'm very pro-choice.
I hate the concept of abortion.
I hate it.
I hate everything it stands for.
I cringe when I listen to people debating the subject.
But you still, I just believe in choice.
But I am strongly for choice, and yet I hate the concept of abortion.
But you would not ban it. No, only for choice.
Very clear.
Strongly for choice.
Very pro choice.
I might not do it, but that's not what choice is about.
Choices should other people be allowed to decide for themselves.
Skip to the 2016 campaign where Trump said you have to punish the women who seek an abortion.
Wow.
He of course walked it back the following day.
Well I, I, I have been pro-life.
I know.
What should the law, I know your principal, that's a good value, but what should be the
law?
This presidential election is going to be very important because when you say what's
the law, nobody knows what the law is going to be.
It depends on who gets elected because somebody is going to appoint conservative judges and somebody is going to appoint liberal judges depending on who wins.
I've never understood the pro-life position. Well, I never understood because I understand
principle. It's human life as people see it. But what crime? What crime is it? Well, it's human
life. No. Should the woman be punished for having an abortion? Look, I would say that it's a very
serious problem. And that's a problem that we have to decide on.
It's very hard.
But you're for banning it.
Well, wait.
Are you going to say put them in jail?
Is that the punishment that you're talking about?
Well, no, what I'm asking you.
Because you say you want to ban it.
What's that mean?
I am against.
I am pro-life, yes.
What is ban?
How do you ban abortion?
How do you actually do it?
Well, you know, you'll go back to a position like they had where people will perhaps go to illegal places. Yeah. But you have
to ban it. Do you believe in punishment for abortion? Yes or no? As a principle. The answer
is that there has to be some form of punishment for the woman. Yeah, it has to be some form.
Some form for the woman walking that back the following day. And then finally here is Trump again later on in his presidency and post-presidency era
saying not only has he switched from being pro choice to pro life, he is the most pro
life president in history.
Quite a reversal, quite a reversal.
Take a listen.
Strong people, smart people have been fighting for 50 years and it never even came close to getting done. Take a listen. pro-life on this. And somebody stood up, a woman stood up and said, this guy ended Roe v. Wade.
How the hell can you go against him? And I sort of said that myself, actually.
But I'm proud to be the most pro-life president in American history.
I am proud to be the most pro-life president in American history.
Now there are two aspects of this to grapple with and we're going to do some more of these
examples tomorrow.
Trump versus Trump to some degree.
Does it really matter what Trump's personal privately held view is on any of these issues. If we are really focused on how it affects other people,
which means how he governs Trump's first opinion about trans bathrooms, which is, I don't care,
use whatever bathroom you want versus Trump's second opinion about ridiculing so-called tampons
in boys bathrooms and attacking people in all the ways that he does, riling up the
bloodthirsty anti trout trans crowds at his rallies and this sort of thing.
Does it matter which is the real one on a personal level?
It doesn't really.
What does matter is how he would govern.
And we know that he's elicited these anti trans reactions from people by his new points
of view.
These really are his cult followers.
If Trump said, listen, guys, guys and gals, I'm going to make the economy work for you.
I don't care what bathrooms people use.
Forget about it.
It's just not an issue.
Just forget about it.
I'm going to I'm going to put money in your pocket.
You're not going to care who's in the bathroom.
If I put money in your pocket, his cult would mostly go along with it.
OK, so what whatever Trump's real view is fine. It doesn't matter, but it does matter that he riles people
up with this stuff. Same thing with the abortion thing. If I am honest, I think that Trump's
probably still pro-choice. He's been pro-choice what, 68 years. And then in year 69, he became
against abortion. And now he calls himself the most pro-life
president.
I struggle to believe that his views really have changed other than as a matter of political
expediency.
But does it matter?
He got Roe v. Wade overturned.
Even if he still is pro choice personally, it doesn't really matter because he did choose
Supreme Court justices that ultimately got Roe v. Wade overturned.
So tomorrow we're going to look more deeply at some of these other issues with Trump versus
Trump gun safety regulations and others.
Eric Trump appeared last night on the Laura Ingraham show.
This was after Laura got her black women confused, putting up a picture of Letitia James while
talking about Fannie Willis.
We talked about that earlier in the show.
This interview for Eric Trump did not go well.
He should really stop doing these.
That would be the smartest thing.
He is no longer claiming that his dad is innocent of all charges.
Eric Trump's new thing is the cases are dead.
There's a statute of limitations.
You can't have double jeopardy.
What happened to he's completely innocent.
Take a listen.
But I think the only thing I disagree with you on this case is dead.
The case got dismissed.
The case will not get revived.
By the time my father's out of office, the statute of limitations will be long gone.
You can't have double jeopardy. All of a sudden, the entire tune of this whole thing has shifted dramatically from there's
just nothing, nothing, nothing here to statute of limitations, double jeopardy.
He forgot to mention my dad's completely innocent.
This sadly, there is a little bit of a similarity between Eric Trump and
Pete Hegseth, Trump's secretary of defense nominee. As some of you, of course, know,
Pete Hegseth was accused of sexual assault and he actually paid off the accuser and he was
ultimately not charged. Pete Hegseth was recently asked in, uh, about the incident that took place in Monterey, California.
And he was asked, did you sexually assault a woman? And his response was not, of course not.
I would never sexually assault anyone. His response was, well, I was cleared. The police
decided not to prosecute. Uh, the investigation was dropped. Nowhere in there was, no, I didn't
sexually assault a woman. I would never sexually assault anybody.
And similarly here with Eric Trump, it's well, we've got a statute of limitations and we've
got this and we've got that.
What about your dad's supposed in innocence?
And then finally during this interview, he really should stop accepting these invitations.
They are continuing to really go for the tariffs thing.
And one of the funniest things or maybe saddest things about Eric Trump is whenever he sees
an opportunity to latch onto something his dad is latching onto, he'll just take it too
far and it starts to come off as desperate, sort of like pay attention to me, dad.
Um, and here he is going completely overboard on the tariff stuff.
You want to allow drugs to come through our southern border? We're going to tariff stuff. You want to allow drugs to come through our Southern border.
We're going to tear a few.
You want to allow them to come through Canada.
We're going to tear a few China.
If you're going to allow this stuff to get sold in our country, largely produced in China,
we're going to add another 10% to your chair.
We are going to cost your countries, your economies.
We're going to cost your businesses billions, hundreds of billions of dollars.
If you you know who pays those tariffs, Eric, it's the businesses here. It's the people
here. Think you're going to pair terror. You're going to poison Americans. It's not going
to happen. You're not going to destroy our youth. You're not going to destroy our society.
You're not going to destroy our families. You're not going to do it. It's going to cost
you. I'm going to put an end to it.
Laura, when my father sent that 20 minutes ago, I literally cheered out loud.
He literally cheered out loud and he was in a Duane Reade at the time getting sunscreen
that was locked up and the entire staff of Duane Reade saluted him and said, sir, you've
been treated so unfairly.
And then a couple of people cried.
We are, we are supposed to believe, you know, one of the things you've got a hand to these
mega people is they are pretty good at campaigning against incumbents.
I mean, Biden has by all measures a completely reasonable, fine economy.
They campaign on inflation and the economy sucks, whatever.
Enough people believe it to their credit.
Enough people believe it.
But now they're going to run on policies that will make inflation even higher.
They ran on we will lower inflation, we will lower prices, which, by the way, is deflation.
That's a different thing.
And then they won.
And now the plan is let's do more tariffs, which will only make things even more expensive. There's something, there's some kind of major disconnect happening here.
Uh, and I don't know where it's going to land as far as the tariffs go, but my advice would
be no more interviews for Eric Trump, please.
All right.
Big, big update.
Couple of updates.
Number one, we are here today.
We're here tomorrow.
But then we are off Thursday and Friday for the holiday here in the United States.
Thanksgiving, Black Friday, then the weekend.
So we're getting a little break here to head off people writing in saying, David, where's
the show?
We will be off Thursday, Friday. We have now given away 12 copies of my
forthcoming book, The Echo Machine. I gave away five of my personal uncorrected proofs, one of
which I have the last one of which I have here. We also on Blue Sky or Blue S ski, as some call it, gave away seven hardcover books, including
goodie bags with a bunch of stuff related to the book to seven people who follow me
on blue sky.
There will be more opportunities for free books.
In the meantime, you can preorder the book at David Pakman dot com slash echo on Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Audible, Apple Music, podcasts,
Kindle, et cetera, et cetera. And you can call any local bookshop and say, please get David
Pakman's echo machine for me. Every local bookstore can order it. We are approaching
four thousand preorders without any of the bookstore orders. I just found this out, you know, uh, a lot of the
fake generals won't tell you this, but the pre-order numbers do not include anything ordered
at local bookstores. And I know my audience loves local bookstores. So I I'm hoping there's at least
several hundred more orders there. So we're right close to 4,000. We're going to set our sites on
5,000 copies pre-ordered by the end of the year.
And no matter where you preorder your copy, submit your receipt at David Pakman dot com
slash free book stuff.
All one word free book stuff.
David Pakman dot com slash free book stuff.
On today's bonus show, Matt Gates is now on cameo. How much is he
charging? 500 bucks. Uh, it's all crazy and we will discuss it. We will dig into more detail
about the aforementioned plan to kick out all trans people from the military in Trump's first
days as president. Can he really do it? How would he do it?
And finally, the Supreme Court has rejected a tobacco industry challenge to those graphic
images you see on packs of cigarettes that are very common in Europe, for example.
What will this mean?
We will discuss it and more on today's bonus show.
