Starting point is 00:00:00 Welcome to the David Pacman show bonus show. This is a sneak peek at our premium paywalled content. The extra show our members get five days a week. It is great to be back in the studio. I want to talk a little bit about the LA trip. Should we just mention what we were just talking? talking about Pat just briefly because I think about it. Absolutely. I was thinking we should have recorded that. We should have recorded. So Andrew Wilson, who I don't even know how to explain to people who he is. He's just like an online right winger who debates people.
Starting point is 00:00:47 Andrew Wilson debated Candace Owens. And I find both of these individuals despicable. But Andrew Wilson wanted this debate over the true nature of the killer of Charlie Kirk. Andrew Wilson believes that it was Tyler Robinson. Candace Owens has been saying it is not Tyler Robinson. And she has sources. He, I guess, put up $300,000 to debate Candace Owens and is trying to fundraise the money for it. The debate already happened.
Starting point is 00:01:17 It went terribly for him. And so far, he's only been able to raise $79,000 of the $300,000. So he's in the hole for $220K. He was completely unprepared. He was like visibly shaking. And I said to Pat, I found out that Andrew Wilson has wanted to debate me for a long time. I didn't even know he was for a long time, but people would write to me. They go, hey, we want to organize a debate with Andrew Wilson about I don't even know what.
Starting point is 00:01:41 And the clips I've seen of him were so, he seems such like a highly disturbed person where he's like, he has this indignant anger. He just is so angry all the time. He's visibly shaking and he needs smoke breaks during debates and all this crazy stuff. I was just like, listen, I don't really know who this guy is, but I'm definitely not interested. And then he pops up debating Candace Owens. And it just went terribly for him. And I just think he never should have gotten into this in the first place.
Starting point is 00:02:10 That's absolutely right. I think what Candace Owens is saying having to do with the Charlie Kirk conspiracy theories, it doesn't make sense whatsoever. And she doesn't really have the evidence to back up her claims. But stylistically, she absolutely won that debate because of just like the rhetorical techniques that she used. And you can say those are like cheap tactics. But it's Andrew Wilson who's supposed to be the debate master, debate me bro.
Starting point is 00:02:32 And he did not do a good job. He didn't seem prepared like you said. He didn't know the charges against Tyler Robinson. He didn't seem to really know what claims he wanted to make either during the debate. So if you're going to pay someone $300,000 to debate you, you got to smoke that person. Right. In order for that to be a win for you, you have to come out of it looking like you just did absolutely way better than the other person. That did not happen at all.
Starting point is 00:02:56 I think Candace stylistically actually won the debate and she got 300K on top of it, apparently. The funny thing is it. actually is in more interesting to pay to debate and then you lose because what what I mean by that is if you pay to debate and then you win easily it's like listen you kind of just like bullied your way with money and then you just crush someone but they got the money so it's like listen what what do you expect I find it funnier that he was so convinced that this would go well that he was willing to pay and then he ultimately lost like that's way more interesting than paying and winning. Oh, no. It's loss on top of loss. And we're saying this not as Candace Owens fans.
Starting point is 00:03:35 We think that she's despicable too. But totally, you know, to take a step back and watch the right wing fight, especially over a matter like this, something so idiotic. It's really something that's fascinating to watch and something that's fun to laugh at that. It really is. So that, that's that. Check out the debate if you're interested. And I completely understand if you're not because it's like degenerates arguing with each other. Fine. I had a really funny thing happened on the way home from Los Angeles. So flying home with kids, I had my whole family out in LA and I did interviews for that which will not be named. I'm not supposed to talk about the B O. Okay. So I was in LA for reasons. Okay. Flying home, I've got my two kids with me and you know,
Starting point is 00:04:19 my girlfriend and I during the best weekend to manage that. It's a it's a long flight back to the East Coast. I kind of notice that there's a commotion where, you know, there's a bunch of flight attendants kind of just like around us. And I'm kind of like, wait a second. I thought that these flight attendants were working in different parts of the plane. I don't really know what's going on. And they're kind of like talking to me. And I just think, you know, when you have a baby, sometimes people find babies cute. And so sometimes flight attendants are like really interested in the baby. So I was like that that that must be what's going on. But then all of a sudden, I'm like, they really don't seem that interested in the baby. Like something strange is going on.
Starting point is 00:04:57 here. And then eventually the flight attendants dispersed. This is all during the flight, by the way. And the flight attendant actually assigned to our section comes over to me. And he goes, can I tell you something funny? And I go, sure. This is kind of a, this is already an unusual conversation to be having with a flight attendant. And he goes, I thought you were McCauley Culkin when you got on the plane. And I had my colleagues come up just to see. And then they were like, no, No, we don't think that that's Macaulay Culkin. Now, I'll mention I was wearing glasses. I don't have blonde hair.
Starting point is 00:05:33 Macaulay Culkin's wife is Asian. There are a lot of his kids are older, I think. There are a lot of reasons to like, if you know anything about McCauley Culkin, which it's not like I know a lot about McCauley Culkin, but I would go, no, the dark haired guy with the non-Asian girlfriend can't possibly be McCauley Culkin. What, did you just find something interesting? I'm just looking at pictures of McCauley Culkin now and comparing them to your face. And I can see why someone would think that you were him, if not for the hair.
Starting point is 00:05:59 The flight attendant pulled up a picture. Let me, let me pull up a picture now. Yeah. There are definitely some pictures where he's wearing glasses where it sort of maybe looked a little like me on the plane with my glasses. But regardless, he said to me, that's why everybody was up here. And then we figured out. Now, here's the second layer to this, right?
Starting point is 00:06:20 And I think you know what it is. Every other day when I'm out in the world, right, if I'm at the gym, if I'm at a cafe, someone will come up to me and half the time they know exactly who I am. They go, David, big fan. The other half, they go, I know who you are. Hold on. Do you do sports commentary? Now, when that's the situation, I help them out, right? I don't, I could just play stupid and go, no, I'm aware of the fact. I'm socially aware enough, Pat, to know that they clearly do recognize me from something they watch, but they're just wrong that it's sports content. So I'll go, no, no, but I am, I am like on YouTube and stuff. Do you watch political content? And then they go,
Starting point is 00:07:04 oh, that's what it is, right? I know to help them out. What if, what if they go, are you Brian Tyler Cohen? What do you say in that instance? I say, nobody's a friend of mine. And then they get really confused because then wait a second. Where am I recognize you? That happens a lot too. That is weird. People come up to me and go, I told the story. I think didn't I were I was walking down the street and a city bus door opens and a guy runs out and he goes, Brian, Brian and chases me down. Anyway, so when someone goes, oh, don't you do sports or like I don't do the weird thing where I just go, no, I'm sorry, you must be have me confused with someone else and walk away. I'll help them out. And then they go, oh, yeah, David, blah, blah, blah, fine. Now,
Starting point is 00:07:44 On this flight, it occurred to me. It is possible that someone is recognizing me from something else. And then they're kind of going like, but is it McCauley Calkin? I'm not really sure. I it didn't. It wasn't obvious enough. Like maybe they really don't know me from any content. And they just think I look like McCauley Calkin and I might be, you know, an accountant.
Starting point is 00:08:07 And they would say the same thing to me. So I opted not to say. But do you watch the David Packman show? Whereas afterwards, my girlfriend was like, you know, you could have kind of said like, but do and I go, now, it seemed a little bit self-serving in that environment because I don't know that they really recognized me. Right. You would only be able to say that to the first person who thought that they knew you from somewhere, which I guess was the flight attendant who showed up at the end of all of it, right? So I guess you're going to that person. That was our flight attendant who was the one assigned to our section. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:08:39 said he had his colleagues come up to see if maybe it was, but in any case, I don't know. I could have thrown that in there, but I opted not to. But I will take McCauley Culkin. I've never gotten that one before, but I like it. Yep. So I got a little teaser for this story. I heard it for the first time with the audience just now, but you sent me that you have a story called they thought I was McCauley Culkin.
Starting point is 00:08:59 So my thought was that maybe someone recognized you from the show or a couple people on your flight recognized you from the show. And then some other people who maybe didn't know who you were, were thinking, who's this guy, who's this guy? And then maybe word spread that McCulley Culkin was on the plane. And so that maybe two of the people on the plane knew who you were, but then the rest thought you were someone else. Yeah, no. So slightly, slightly different. So anyway, interesting little story.
Starting point is 00:09:23 I got to say, I like McCauley Culkin. And, you know, interesting guy. There are definitely worse people to be confused with. That's for sure. So it would be quite a quite a life too to be quite that famous that young too. I don't know if that would be for me or for everyone. No. That would be quite the story.
Starting point is 00:09:42 So beyond that, great trip to LA and doing a lot of promotion for that thing which will not be named. I will mention to people this week I have interviews coming up with. Let me tell you who's going to be interviewing me this week. Jack Coacharella. Brian Shapiro, who does a great. great show. Channel 4 in the UK. Adam Mockler is going to be interviewing me. Jim Acosta and Harry Sisson. That's all this week, Pat. Okay. Next week, I will be interviewed. This is for
Starting point is 00:10:20 no particular reason. Just they're interviewing me right now, but there's no, there's no particular reason. We're not allowed to say why that is. Jesse Dallimore will be interviewing me. Luke Beasley, Farron Cousins will be interviewing me. That's next week and still lining up a couple others. And then in September, we got a bunch of other ones, Cliff Schechter and we're talking to Michelangelo Senior Relay. I'll be on with Sarah Matthews on the Home of the Brave podcast, a whole bunch of different stuff. So interviews, folks, interviews and last week, my episode of love it or leave it was published. I was also on the What a Day podcast. I also did a series of interviews with Brian Tyler Cohen, Brian Tyler, Brian Cohen, Tyler Brynson, Tyler Cohenson.
Starting point is 00:11:08 So that was like seven interviews right there. Yeah, a lot of interviews. You pretty much named everyone in this space. I can't really think of too many names that you left out from that list. And of course, last Friday I hosted the show, which I'm sure everyone out there enjoyed, gave it five stars. But I told people, you know, if you miss David, he's been doing a whole bunch of interviews lately, because of the reason that shall not be named and he's going to be doing a bunch of interviews in the next coming weeks. So just because you're missing out on some David content right now, that doesn't mean it's
Starting point is 00:11:38 not out there. That's right. And then I also have one other thing to announce. This is an opportunity to come say hi in person. On Saturday, October 3rd, okay, I will be with Jessica Tarlov each talking about our thing which shall not be named. We each wrote a thing which shall not be named and our things which shall not be named will be out by that October 3rd. I am going to be traveling back to my ancestral home, not of Argentina, but of Springfield, Massachusetts. And Jessica and I will be doing a joint event at 6 p.m. at the Springfield Public Forum, where we will be in conversation. There will be audience Q and A. And then so Jessica signing books, I need to figure out whether I'm also signing books. It's going to be very, very interesting. But that's October 3rd, the Springfield Public
Starting point is 00:12:34 Forum. I don't have any information as to whether tickets are required, how to get it. They've told me nothing. I just am showing up, Pat. So that's going to be a cool event, I think. And hopefully we'll meet some people there. Yeah, absolutely. Hopefully Jessica treats you better than she does her co-hosts or co-panelists on Fox News, because if she decides to use that tactic, it may not go so well for you. Yeah, no, that's, that's absolutely for sure. So all of that stuff going on, nothing else really big from Los Angeles. You know, it's always like I said last week, you get to Los Angeles and it's like everything is driving. Everything, everything, everything is driving. Even to go sometimes to a place that's nearby, you kind of have to drive
Starting point is 00:13:12 because there's no public transit between a lot of spots. And you have to cross these insane, you know, seven lanes in either direction, streets and stuff. So the car. Our culture is definitely something. But I was kind of saying, look, I did kind of get used to it. And there is something convenient about it. You just have your space. But it's very individualistic. Whereas in the Northeast, we're more used to like public transit walking around.
Starting point is 00:13:36 So it is a very different lifestyle. Absolutely. I don't know if it's the type of thing I could get used to so easily. There are certain places, especially the ones that just aren't walkable that I don't think I could live. Like I understand maybe there are places where they don't have the best system of public transit, Everyone drives, but you can still like walk because everything is relatively close by. Los Angeles is not going to be one of those places because this is giant metropolis.
Starting point is 00:14:02 And on top of that, there's no great system for public transit. So that's exactly right for me. Great place to visit, though, beautiful weather. By the way, I filled up with some nasty gas. It was $5.89 a gallon. Just absolutely disgusting. And, you know, who's to blame for that, of course? Yeah, the newscom.
Starting point is 00:14:20 I think Trump, right? I don't know. All right. It is. And there was diesel. I think there was I saw. Could I have seen diesel for seven bucks a gallon? Is that possible?
Starting point is 00:14:31 It depends. During the Biden administration when it was over 20 bucks a gallon as Trump would tell you? Or is it done under his administration when it was just last week. It couldn't have possibly been because that would never happen under Donald. No, of course not. So, all right. A successful trip. I'm in the studio.
Starting point is 00:14:47 I'm here. We're doing it. And we will be back with a completely standard. normal bonus show tomorrow. That does it for today's bonus show preview.
