Today, Donald Trump teases a mysterious midterm surprise with Project 2025 architect Russ
vote. And we are going to look at what do we know about what they might be planning.
Trump then gives a completely bizarre speech, gets asked the most basic possible question about,
what do voters care about this election? And he goes, I don't know. Now, meanwhile, Fox News is
cutting away from his speeches after only five minutes and former Trump voters in Michigan delivered
deliver massive dumps of bad news to Republicans.
Mike Johnson, the Speaker of the House, says another Trump impeachment is a guarantee if Democrats
take the House.
And Gavin Newscum, a nasty guy, goes even further.
And he says Trump is mentally ill and he must be immediately removed.
We've got a show today.
And if the internet gods let us publish it, hopefully you're about to listen to it.
it or watch it right now.
We start with the disastrous night for Republicans.
A whole bunch of Republican candidates debated their Democratic opponents last night and Republicans
had a nightmare evening.
They should be terrified before the midterms and we are going to look at a bunch of these.
There was a debate on Fox 23 in Maine where Troy Jackson is the Democratic nominee incumbent
Republican Senator Susan.
Cousin Collins is the Republican nominee and it went terribly, terribly, terribly for her.
Troy Jackson accusing Susan Collins accurately of being like the arsonist who brings a little
cup of water after setting the fire and says, praise me for bringing a little bit of water
to the fire that I started.
This was, this couldn't have gone worse for Susan Collins.
And he knows very well that I proposed paying for the Rural Health Care Fund by increasing the costs on everyone of taxes for people making over $250,000 a year.
And that's direct a response to Senator Jackson.
Yeah, well, Senator Collins is like an arsonist who helped set the fire,
and then she wants credit for bringing a cup of water to put it out.
I mean, she advanced the bill out of committees.
You just heard her say if she just, if she'd have stopped it, she wouldn't be able to do the other things, meaning that she couldn't stop it.
That's exactly the point.
I mean, all of her Republican colleagues called her a team player.
She stood with Donald Trump whenever he wanted that.
96% of the time she votes with him.
We're not going to have any rural health care left because of the $3 billion in cuts that we're going to be having.
Brutal.
I mean, just brutal stuff.
And we can talk about, you know, the degree.
to which debates matter. We can talk about the degree to which debates establish who has the better
policy ideas. You know, these are all kind of open questions, but a really bad night for Susan
Collins. Now, I know every time I play videos of Susan Collins, people write in and they go,
David, does she have Parkinson's? What's going on medically with her? Is she even healthy enough to be
senator? I have no idea. You know, we've sort of become acculturated in this environment,
especially because of Donald Trump's opacity about his health. We've become acculturated to,
Like, we don't know what's going on health-wise with these people.
We don't know what's going on with Trump.
We don't know what's going on with Mitch McConnell.
I have no idea what's going on with Susan Collins.
I wish I had more information.
I don't.
So we'll focus on the substance.
Continuing where we left off, Troy Jackson very strongly making the case that even though
Susan Collins may try to distance himself, herself, I misgendered her.
Even though Susan Collins may try to distance herself from Donald Trump now.
because it's so terrible to be associated with him in Maine.
She does vote with what Trump wants almost all the time.
And Jackson making the case, he doesn't know Trump anything.
But what we do know about Navitech is that as late as 2024, the FBI was circling around
Senator Collins. They had emails. They know about meetings. They got a check, obviously, a great
big check for $150,000, paid a play scheme involved in her office and our taxpayer dollars.
And then whenever President Trump came back, his administration dismantled the investigation.
Now she votes with Donald Trump 906% of the time.
Look, I don't owe Trump. I don't owe the billionaires.
Nothing, in fact, I've spent my life fighting back against billionaires.
But I do all the people who maintain everything.
I refuse corporate PAC money.
I want to ban congressional stock trading.
I fight for working Mainers every day.
I'm not taking money from corporations like Senator Collins does.
You know, in this country, politicians are bought and paid for.
And the people that I know don't have enough money to buy them back.
That's why I'm fighting for them.
A super strong economic message.
And then finally from this debate and then we'll look at a couple of others.
Susan Collins desperate to try to get credit for something.
And she goes, I ended tariffs on road salt from Canada.
And Troy Jackson goes, you can't eat road salt.
It's not helping us.
I have been strongly voting against the tariffs with Canada,
but I've also been working behind the scenes.
Troy mocked it, but I was successful in getting concrete, pulp, and road salt removed from the tariff list.
And if you ask towns in northern Maine and eastern Maine, they get all of their roads.
from Canada.
The small town of Frenchville
with 900 people
would have to pay
$10,000 more
this winter had I not
been successful.
A businessman in Waldo County
who's in the concrete business
would have faced $150,000
more a month.
And I'm not finished.
I'm still fighting
for more
of a reduction in the tariff.
Thank you. Senator Jackson, same question to you.
Well, look, Maynors can't afford to pay their bills with a press release or a strongly worded letter like Senator Collins keeps talking about.
I didn't mock the fact that she got road salt back. I mocked the fact that what about everything else?
I mean, we can't eat road salt. And the thing about it is, is that everything.
So you get the point. This was not good for Susan Collins. We then go over to Maryland, where our friend,
Governor Westmore really just, I mean, these are such one-sided debates.
I won't even introduce this one.
I'll just play it for you and see the dynamics that develop.
That alone could save Medicaid and I'm going to do it.
Secondly, as to snap.
This is, we're first hearing from Dan Cox, by the way, who's the Republican candidate
for governor running against the incumbent Democrat Westmore.
Same exact issues.
There were 1858 people incarcerated receiving SNAP.
And one person apparently won a $2 million lottery.
This is outrageous.
We need common sense again to make sure our budget is cared for.
We didn't have these issues under Governor Hogan and our budget director David Brinkley.
We're having them now because of the kind of mismanagement that you're seeing.
And so what Dan Cox is trying to do is raise prior Republican governors, but Westmore
does something super smart here.
Governor Moore.
Governor Hogan called you a Q&on whack job and said he would never support you.
because he didn't think that you were fit to lead.
And so let's get some accurate numbers here.
The snap error rate was actually the second highest in the country
when I came on as governor.
And now during our time,
Maryland has had amongst the fastest drops in snap error rate
in the United States of America.
But, you know, making sure you're fixing the snap error rate is one thing.
Making sure you're also dealing with a federal administration
who seems to be perfectly comfortable.
with trying to kick hundreds of thousands of people off of healthcare.
All right.
So Westmore making it clear that listen, your claims about your allegiance with the former governor,
he thought you were a Q and on nut, your claims about this food stamp error rate.
Republicans love this.
They love to go.
People who don't deserve food stamps are getting food stamps all over the place.
Well, sometimes mistakes are made with any program.
We sort of price that into social welfare programs.
The question is, are they mostly doing good anyway?
And Westmore pointing out the, we fixed the error rate when I came in.
And just doing a very good job of dismantling this guy.
Westmore is going to win, but still an interesting debate to look at.
We then go to the governor's race in Michigan where this is a great example.
Stay with me on this one.
This is a great example of how these debates are often not about the facts per se, but they
are about presentation and being articulate and being prepared.
The topic of data centers came up between Democratic nominee for governor, Jocelyn Ben,
Minson and the Republican candidate, John James, take a look at how that went.
Well, thank you for the opportunity to set the record straight here.
We have disclosed all our personal finances with the state, and that has reinforced the fact
that my family has not profited from data centers.
It's a lie, and my opponent knows it.
I've called for a moratorium on any new data center developments until we have real guardrails
in place to protect local control, protect our water, require data centers to shoulder the burden
of any energy usage, and invest in community benefits agreements.
that will protect our communities.
In sharp contrast, my opponent has become a multi-millionaire
buying stocks and data center companies that he regulates.
And he, not his spouse, he has voted to cut taxes
on those very same companies.
And he, not his spouse, he has also voted four times
to block the ability of local communities
to have a voice or a say in whether data centers
can come to those communities.
So that is a very specific set of accusations.
And I'm going to play for you, John James, answer when he has asked more directly about this.
And then I have some thoughts.
Do you have stock in data centers and data center related companies?
So when you consider having mutual funds and everything that's disclosed, then sure.
But to insinuate that somebody is on the take from anything is reckless.
And frankly, it's wrong, especially when you consider the fact.
that her family has not disclosed all this information. We have been extremely transparent.
We are in compliance with ethics. So listen, this is one of those things where I'll be honest,
John James might be completely right here. I mean, listen, I am not someone who knows how to pick
stocks. I don't have the time to go, well, I'm going to buy this one and sell it. And then I'm
I'm going to get. I just buy total stock market index funds. It's just little pieces of every
publicly publicly traded company.
in the country. Are there petroleum companies in index funds that I am invested in in some way? Probably.
I mean, it's the simplest way is you buy the cheapest index funds. John James maybe is right about this,
but Jocelyn Benson put him on the defensive right away on an issue that is a hot button
issue in this country right now data centers. And he sounds extraordinarily defensive. And his
explanation kind of sucks. And so it's just a reminder. These.
are really adjudications of preparation, being articulate, being aggressive to some degree. Okay, bonus.
You want to know what makes you sound not super relatable, referring to gas stations as gas stores.
And that is what Rick Jackson, Republican candidate in Georgia, called a gas station.
This is the kind of policy that we cannot have in running Georgia, not having people feeling safe to go to work or go to the
gas store. I was able to go to the gas store today and obtain refined petroleum as working
class people do when they commute to robotically out of touch. I will have one marijuana, please.
See how in touch I am with the average person. Disastrous night for Republicans. But if your
thought is, wow day, wow, they're going to lose and we don't have to worry about it.
Trump claims to have a plan.
This is one of the most terrifying videos of the last week or two.
Donald Trump squirting out a disgusting threat, which understandably has people freaking out.
Trump is now openly teasing some kind of surprise coming in the next couple of weeks
right before the election.
The person standing next to Trump when he said it is Russ vote.
Vote is Trump's budget director.
He's one of the primary architects of Project 2025.
And listen to what Trump had to say.
Director of the Office of Management and Budget, Russ, vote, who's fantastic.
He's on a job.
We have some big surprises coming up in another few weeks, right, Russ?
He's going to be one of the very important people in the history of our country, in my opinion.
He's got some-
Think about what Trump is saying.
We have a big surprise coming and it's going to involve Russ vote and he will be one of the
most important people in the history of our country.
What does Trump have planned?
What is Russ vote about to do in the next few weeks that will make them one of the most
important people in the history of the country?
Well, Trump doesn't say, if this were the only thing like this Trump had said, maybe
we would just say, oh, it's Trumpian hyperbole.
Everything's the biggest and historic and happening in two weeks, except hours earlier.
Donald Trump also posted the following to truth social.
Quote, my rally crowds and enthusiasm are unbelievable.
Nobody has ever seen anything like it.
We are flipping races all over the place.
The fake news knows it, but they don't want to be truthful with their viewers.
It's all happening.
The Democrats never counted on this.
Thank you to the great networks that are covering the rallies in full.
They are being rewarded with big ratings.
And here's the key.
Watch for the midterm surprise.
So we have two statements within hours.
First, it's watch for the midterm surprise.
Then Trump appears with Russ vote, a project 2025 architect.
And he goes, Russ and I.
We've got some big surprises coming in the next few weeks.
So this is understandably getting people who want free and fair elections saying, what is Trump talking about?
Now, we don't know.
Trump hasn't explained it.
There is a huge range of possibilities.
Some, you know, completely conventional political announcement to something involving an executive takeover of elections.
And what's making people nervous is the context.
Because number one, Republicans are just getting crushed in the polls.
They're getting crushed in the debates.
Trump's underwater.
This vote is not a random campaign surrogate.
He is Trump's director of Office of Management and Budget.
And he was a central figure in Project 2025.
And Trump has spent months trying to shape the environment around these midterms.
And so he wants redrawn congressional maps and restrictions on mail in voting.
And he wants Congress to put in place new proof of citizenship requirements for federal elections.
And this is why when Trump, days before an election, is talking to.
a Russ vote about surprises, we assume that it might have something to do with the election.
Jessica Tarlov, our friend wrote, between this and his midterm surprise, the time to prepare
for him to try to steal an election is now.
And Jessica's right.
Now, online, the speculation goes way further.
Is Trump planning martial law declaration, an emergency of some kind?
Those are theories.
Trump hasn't said that.
I think that we should focus on what Trump did say because it's crazy already, publicly promising
a midterm surprise.
And then he's standing next to one of the most powerful officials in his administration saying
there will be big surprises.
And you, Russ, will be one of the most important people in the history of our country.
So what is he talking about?
Now, could this be the bluster of Trump that his defenders love to talk about?
Maybe.
Maybe this is some kind of political theater.
Maybe Trump announces something unrelated.
Maybe surprise means we're finally getting that healthcare plan.
We've been waiting on for six and a half years.
But the timing of this and the fact that vote is the person being singled out, I think makes
it totally reasonable for us to start asking. What are you and Russ vote planning?
Much like reporters should be saying to Trump every time he falls asleep in public, it looked
like you were just sleeping. What's the deal with that? They should be saying what exactly
are you and Russ vote planning? And let Trump say,
that he's not going to tell you. But maybe Trump makes a mistake and tells us what it is. The midterms
are under a month away. We can't wait till later to figure out what Trump meant. That will be too
late. That would be the wrong approach. Now, we are gearing up to be fighting these Republicans,
hopefully after taking back some control of Congress in November. And the way we are doing that in part
is that on October 20th, we are going to be doing a one-day membership drive.
The idea is, let's bolster the resources of the show to be positioned to put these people
on the defensive for Trump's final two years in office and hopefully orient the country in the
right direction for when Trump finally goes.
If you would like to be notified of that membership special on the 20th, just get on my
newsletter at substack. David Pakman.com or get on my texting list, which you can do by texting

ever seen in American politics are running right now. I'm talking about Mike Rogers, the Senate
nominee for Republicans in Michigan, and Ken Paxton, the Senate nominee for Republicans in Texas.
It is almost like they are trying to lose. If you wanted to lose, you would pick people like these two
dofaces to represent your party. And I want to show you what just happened in Michigan.
Now, also known as MSNBC, almost also sometimes known to the president as MSDNC, MS now put together
a focus group of 10 Michigan conservatives.
All 10 of these people voted for Donald Trump in 2024.
All 10 say they now regret that vote.
And they asked those Michigan Republicans a really simple question.
There are two choices in the Michigan Senate race.
It is Republican Mike Rogers and Democrat Abu El-Sayed.
Who are you voting for?
And take a look at this.
Read them and weep.
Show of hands, who has decided who they're going to vote for in the Senate race?
How many of you are going to vote for Mike Rogers?
One arm, one hand went up just for people listening.
So how many of you are going to vote for Abdul El-Said?
And that looks like one, two, three, four, five hands go out.
And how firm do you think you are in your choice to stick to that?
I'm about 90% if I don't vote for him.
I'm not voting.
Right.
That's how I would be too.
I wouldn't vote for my crime.
All right.
That is people who voted for Donald Trump in Michigan.
Now, of course, this is a group only of people who regret voting for Trump.
You could find people in Michigan who don't regret voting for Trump previously and they're
probably voting for Mike Rogers. But only one out of these 10 folks says she is voting for the
Trump endorsed Republican Senate candidate. And that is absolutely wacky and remarkable stuff.
Now, important caveat, this is also only 10 people. This is not a poll. It's not a random sample
of Michigan voters. And again, I said this before. I want to say it again, the group is specifically
composed of Trump voters who have buyers remorse about Trump. So we can.
can't go and you say, oh, 50% of Trump voters are voting for the Democrat, we can't, we can't do that.
But this is a qualitative look at a very particular group of Republicans that Republicans need to be
thinking about. Now, listen to the one person who actually said she would vote for Mike Rogers.
Generally undecided. Well, I'm leaning Rogers.
Oh, sorry. This is the one person who is undecided, but she's leaning Rogers.
heavily, but I'm still, I'm still reading and deciding I had not definitively done.
And I may not until I get to the voting booth.
I've done that before.
I'm not happy about it.
Yeah, I might be trying to talk myself out of it.
Yeah, I'm not happy about it.
This is now the woman who said she has decided to vote for Rogers, but she's not happy.
But there again, it's either vote or don't vote.
There you go.
Now, as a brief interlude, not to get total.
off track. Maybe this is my bias because I follow this stuff. I don't understand being undecided
in October. Like, I'm undecided about 2028 because it's years away and I don't even know who
the candidates are, right? But I don't understand that I might not decide until like-
In order to get anything done. You need- Popping out of nowhere. I don't understand being undecided
at this point, but maybe I'm being unfair because for a lot of people, this isn't something they
think about often. But these candidates are so different. I just don't know how you could be undecided.
But the point is, even the one voting for Mike Rogers isn't excited about it. She's like, I have to
vote for somebody. It's either you vote or you don't vote. And this comes in a race where Rogers
needs to do something Republican struggle with in midterms when Trump isn't on the ballot, which is
how do we even get people to show up? Now, Rogers has already lost in Michigan. Two years ago,
he lost by fewer than 20,000 votes out of five and a half million that were cast. This year,
are spending massive money to try to get him over the line.
But he is, he is a dog crap candidate.
There's no other way to say it.
He's terrible.
And there are some polls that show it being close.
There are some, some that say, no, Rogers is losing, maybe within the margin of error.
And then there's one poll from Marist conducted about 10 days ago, which says El-Said is up seven
among registered voters.
So different polls, different margins.
But there's another number that explains why the focus group matters.
42% of Michigan registered voters in the Marist poll said their congressional vote is mainly
a vote against Trump, against Trump.
Only 20% said their vote is mainly a vote for Trump.
So for people who are kind of trying to go and either help or hurt Trump, even though
Trump's not on the ballot, they mostly want to hurt them.
And that is not a good sign for Republicans in general.
And that brings us, by the way, this is a little bonus clip, brings us to new.
New York Republican Congressman Mike Lawler. Lawler is in a fight to keep his seat in New York 17th
congressional district. And Fox Business asks him a really straightforward question. Is Trump
going to come to your district and help you? And Lawler says, no, he's not.
In order to get anything done, you need somebody who's going to stand on their own two feet.
Are there plans then for the president to come back and campaign again?
No. Okay. All right. So put all of this stuff next to each other.
In Michigan, you put together 10 Trump voters from 24 who regret it. Five say, hey, we're voting
for the Democrat. Four aren't sure. And the one picking Mike Rogers seems miserable about it,
completely miserable. In another competitive race, a Republican congressman has asked,
is Trump going to come help you out campaign with you? And the answer is no. And nationally,
Reuters finds candidates in two-thirds of competitive races are either distancing themselves from Trump or
just kind of downplaying their connection to Trump. Now, anything can happen on election day. This
only tells us something limited. There is a group of voters who backed Trump last election. They are
not transferring that support to Republicans in 2026 or they're at least not necessarily doing it.
And in races that could be decided by really small margins, Republicans have to figure out what to do
about it because Trump's not on the ballot. Mike Rogers is on the ballot. Mike Lawler is on the ballot.
And I voted for Trump is not translating into I'm voting for Republicans this November.
A delightful problem for us to see them having. I have no suggestions or interest in helping them
fix this problem. But they've only got a few days left to do it. Oh boy. Donald Trump is not going to
like this. California Governor Gavin Newsom is openly saying Trump is mentally ill and it is time to invoke
the 25th Amendment right now and removed Trump. The reason for this timing is that Trump made these
deranged comments at his rally a couple days ago about Iran and the acceptable price that Americans
might have to pay. And Trump said, you know, if they have to take out Los Angeles and San Diego,
it would be a small price to pay. Just 16 million people would die. And again, remember with the war,
artificial. It's a little bit high. It's a small price to pay for keeping the world safe,
keeping our country safe. They can take out a city. Let them take out Los Angeles. Let them take out
San Diego. That's, this is a very small price to pay. And it's going to be over with very soon.
All right. So of course, this was a very stupid idea because the reality is that those two metro
areas have more Republicans than many states do.
It's a stupid idea because San Diego has a massive military population.
And it's also a stupid idea because as the president, you're supposed to defend the entire
country.
Gavin Newsom's response was, it wasn't subtle.
He calls Trump deranged and dangerous.
This is a clip from Gavin Newsom's podcast.
So if you didn't think the November election mattered, just considered what just happened.
The president of the United States, the same one who sent in the National Guard into Los Angeles,
sent 700 active duty Marines to the second largest city in the United States of America,
just invited Iran to take out Los Angeles and San Diego,
where, by the way, over 130,000 active duty personnel are stationed, our best and the brightest.
This is not only madness, this is dangerous, and it's deranged.
And the question is self-evident.
Where the hell is Congress?
Where the hell are you, Speaker Johnson?
Marco Rubio, the great J.D. Vance.
Where is your outrage?
Find a backbone.
Do your damn job.
The absence of that, it's time for all of us to do our job.
And we'll do that.
We're going to stand up this November.
And we're going to put an end to the presidency of Donald Trump as we know it.
We will take this country back.
So if he went further when he was speaking to the Hill,
Gavin Newscombe saying Donald Trump,
is mentally ill and then said it is time for the 25th Amendment. In other words, new scum the nasty
guy isn't saying I'm offended by Trump, uh, what Trump said. He's not saying Trump should apologize.
He's not doing, I'm going to write a strongly worded letter. The governor of California is saying
we have a constitutional mechanism for removing a president who can't discharge the powers and duties
of the office. Trump can't discharge the powers and duties of the office. And Gavin Newsom isn't the only
politician who's reacting to this. The mayor of Los Angeles, Karen Bass, said, Trump's remarks are
dangerous. They could compromise the city's safety. San Diego mayor Todd Gloria said, we got to keep Trump
out of our city, uh, or rather keep our city out of your mouth, out of your reckless war talk. I think
this actually gets worse for Trump politically because even Republicans are hearing this and going,
Yeah, no, I don't think so. Jim Desmond's a Republican running for Congress in the San Diego area.
He says he vehemently disagrees with Trump. No American city is expendable, he said. No American family should ever be treated as collateral damage.
So it's not just Democrats are offended. Oh, it's the outrage machine. It's the grievance machine.
No, no, no, no. Even a Republican candidate just days before the midterms decided I have to distance myself from the Republican president.
days before the midterms.
Now, of course, the White House is doing the, he's so misunderstood.
Stephen Chung, who has attacked me on Twitter, says Trump was saying, if Iran got nuclear
weapons, American cities could have been threatened.
But even a former Trump campaign aide who's involved in the midterm effort said, no,
those those comments are a real problem.
And, you know, whether Trump was, Trump isn't saying he will allow the destruction of L.A.
and San Diego.
Like in that sense, you could go, well, it's a joke.
Obviously, if Trump was told they're bombing L.A., he's not going to do nothing.
But even though it's a joke, it's a very bad idea.
It's a very bad idea for the president to be doing this.
And this is really the problem because Republicans are desperate to make this last month about
Democrats, these crazy Marxists and communists and anarchists and all these people.
people are crazy and, you know, AOC is crazy and Zoran Mamdani is crazy and Gavin Yuscom is
they want to make it all about Democrats.
But they're now in a position of being asked, why is your president joking about Iran
destroying American cities and which cities would be acceptable to destroy?
And so even if it's a quote joke, very stupid joke for a president to make, it's a big
problem for Republicans, a huge problem.
And I don't think, I mean, you all know, Gavin Newsom calling for the 25th Amendment doesn't
mean the 25th Amendment will be invoked.
That would require Trump's Vice President and Cabinet to take action.
They're not going to do it.
There's no indication that they will do it.
But we have crossed into some, some remarkable political territory where the Democratic governor
of the country's largest state, a state larger than most global economies, is saying the sitting
president has a mental illness that prevents him from doing his.
job and he should be removed right away. That is not normal. And if Republicans were sort of hoping
Trump will spend the final weeks, you know, methodically making a coherent closing argument for all of the
down ballot Republicans that are running, good luck with that because Trump is clearly, forget about,
you know, we can speculate. Does Trump want to make a coherent closing argument? I don't know if he
wants that. Sometimes I wonder, but he is unable to do it. Trump.
is unable to coherently communicate political ideas at this point in time.
And I don't want to make this a health segment.
We, you know, we don't know what the hell is going on with Trump's help.
But even in looking at some videos from four years ago, Trump, his speech and apparent
cognitive capabilities have declined so much just from four years ago.
It is night and day. Check out some of the videos. You'll see for yourselves. We'll take a quick break
and more after this.

It's not a Democrat saying it. It's the Republican Speaker of the House, Mike Johnson. He's being
asked, hey, what happens, Mr. Speaker, if Democrats take control of the House in the midterm elections?
And it's Scott Jennings asking him about this on his podcast, which is now nauseatingly being
rebroadcast on C-SPAN 2. Put that aside for a second. Scott Jennings asks him, how sure are you
that Democrats would impeach Trump if they take control of the House? And here is the answer from Mike Johnson.
Mr. Speaker, I want to paint a little bit of a bleak picture here.
Let's say, and I'm not sure it's going to happen, but let's say Democrats and Hakeem Jeffries take over the House next year,
how sure are you that they would immediately move to impeach President Trump?
It's guaranteed, probably on the first day, first or second day.
Remember, they've already filed articles of impeachment in this Congress.
I mean, they're raring to go.
And that's what you could expect.
This is not going to happen.
Let's just paint this alternative world, okay?
Because I'm convinced, Scott, we can hold this majority.
Yeah, they're almost certainly not going to hold the majority.
But put that aside for a second.
Mike Johnson has an incentive to say this.
We are days from the midterms.
And I think he believes that with no other options, right, they've fired all of their
other bullets, he believes Mike Johnson does that if he goes, you know, if they do win, they're going
to impeach Trump, thinking that that will motivate Republicans. I got to get out there and make sure
to vote for Republicans so that then the Democrats don't impeach Trump. It's also relevant to mention
Democratic leaders have not announced that they are impeaching Trump on day one, although
there is certainly an appetite for impeaching Trump. And I believe he will get impeached if Democrats
take the House. Johnson is saying it's a guaranteeing.
That doesn't make it a guarantee, but I think it is certainly likely.
There are Democrats preparing for it.
And Axios has reported that there are House Democrats already wanting to build an impeachment case before the election.
So they would be ready if they take control.
But I think the real more consequential thing that Democrats are planning, I'm going to get back to impeachment in a second.
I think the investigations that Democrats are obviously planning are potentially way more consequential.
because if Democrats take control of the House, they control the committees.
Controlling committees gives them subpoena power.
They can demand documents.
They can call witnesses.
They can investigate the administration.
The AP has already said Democrats are looking at investigations into Trump's family business
dealings, immigration enforcement, the military actions of the administration, allegations of
corruption and abuses of power.
And impeachment hasn't been ruled out.
Now, this is where I think it's important to remind because I always see comments and
get text messages and emails about this. This is still confusing, I think, to some people,
even though we've been through it twice with Trump. Getting impeached doesn't mean you're removed
from office. Think of impeachment as being indicted. The House votes, are we impeaching or not?
The way a grand jury might say, are we indicting or not? And it takes a simple majority in the
house to approve articles of impeachment. At that moment, the president has been impeaching.
Some call it impeachment. I don't know why, but I call it impeachment. So Trump was impeached in
2019. Trump was impeached in 2021. He's the only American president ever to be impeached twice.
He wasn't removed either time because much like you can be indicted and found not guilty and then you go
free. He was impeached, but in the Senate trial, the Senate did not convict him. So remember, the House impeaches the Senate
decides are almost like a jury, are we convicting or not? And the standard for conviction on
impeachment is very high. You need two thirds of the senators present. And if you were to be
convicted on impeachment, you were then removed from office. So if Democrats take the House
and Republicans keep the Senate or if Democrats take the House and Democrats take the Senate,
but only with 51, 52, maybe 54 seats.
Trump is not going to get convicted on impeachment.
It's just not going to happen.
Now, I know people will go, David, you're putting the cart before the horse and how can
you assume?
And it's, I'm just telling you guys, they're, you're not going to get enough Republicans
to join in on it to get to two thirds.
So what we can see happen here is that a third impeachment of Trump may be coming.
Now, I think that there's another reason, even if Democrats, you know, you.
know, Mike Johnson is saying they've already decided they're impeaching them on day one.
Even if Democrats haven't decided that, there's another reason a third impeachment is possible,
which is that the investigations could uncover things.
It's conceivable that Democrats don't have the support or wouldn't have the support on day
one for impeachment based on what Trump has already done.
But you can go and issue subpoenas and get documents and question witnesses.
And then all of a sudden, you're fighting obstruction and executive power and all of the stuff.
And an impeachment develops because Democrats go, this cannot be allowed.
So Mike Johnson is overstating the certainty. The underlying possibility is very real.
Trump has made history already as the only president to be impeached twice. If Dems win the
house, they very well could impeach him a third time. And then we would again be having the
conversation that I guess we need every few years. Trump's been impeached. It doesn't mean has been
been removed. And yes, we are doing it again. Now, I know.
know that there are there is division in my audience. There is dissent in the ranks of the David
Pacman show audience as to whether Democrats should because the Senate will never convict. I have a very
firm view, I guess I would say, which is the House should not calculate what the Senate will do
in deciding whether to impeach. They shouldn't. You know, one of the things that I think is a
problem is when a constitutional duty is replaced with a political calculation. And my view, and
if I were a member of the House, the way I would see it is, I am not going to allow impeachment
to distract me from economic policy and constituent services and all of this stuff. But if the president
has taken actions, has engaged in behavior worthy of impeachment, then it is my responsibility to
impeach and the political implications are sorted out later. So that's my view. I don't think the he will
never be convicted is a, a good reason or quite frankly, even a mediocre reason not to impeach.
You've got to evaluate the actions and then make a decision on that basis. Donald Trump just
admitted something that explains a lot about what we are watching right now. We are less than a month
from the midterms. Days remain. Trump is traveling around the country doing rallies for Republican
candidates and he's talking about these are such important elections and my rallies are transforming
races and we're going to win and fine. So a reporter says to Trump, what's the most important issue
for Americans right now? Trump goes, I don't know. Just he has no idea.
It's the number one issue for American voters in the new case. Well, I don't know exactly.
When you look at the American voters, we're doing better. We're taking in trillions of dollars
of investment. We have more jobs. You know, more people are working in America today.
than at any time in history.
The poverty rate is the best it's ever been in terms of individual.
That includes African American, Asian American, Hispanic American poverty rate.
African America is the single best poverty rate, meaning lowest.
All right.
So he has no answer.
Not only does he have no answer.
It panicked him so much to be asked that question that he immediately went into we're taking in money and doing all this different stuff.
You're the president of the United States spending your time.
campaigning across the country. And you've been telling us these are the most important elections
in American history. And you don't know what the number one issue is? Now, there's another
interpretation here, which is anything that Trump could realistically cite as the number one issue
would be really bad for Republicans. Because if Trump goes, the number one issue is affordability.
Oh, you don't want to remind people of that. Affordability is a problem. The number one issue is a
president who will keep us out of Middle East wars like I promised. You don't want to call attention
to that. That'll remind people you did break another promise. And if you go, the number one issue is
men and women's sports, as he likes to call it. Nobody believes that. Nobody thinks that's the number
one issue. Almost nobody thinks that's the number one issue. So maybe Trump isn't stupid. It's that he's
terrified of the question. All right. Trump was then asked, what did you mean by those comments about
Iran wiping out San Diego and Los Angeles. And Trump just like waves the Trump.
He quite literally just waves it away. Doesn't want to answer that one. No explanation. All right.
Then he is asked about his proposed $5,000 dividend. Some of us call it a bribe. And he is asked,
why can't you just do it now? And Trump's explanation continues to be an.
penetrable linguistic mess.
How do you have you doing sure that all that money would be spent domestic?
How would you?
Well, we're going to be a second to be a big problem.
But the dividends are happening and we win.
If we Republicans win that dividend and the Democrats can't do it because they don't do tariffs.
And therefore the country is going to go bankrupt.
First of all, the dividend isn't happening.
Trump has floated five grand in a tariff-funded dividend if Republicans win the House and Senate.
We've done the math on it.
Forget about the math.
There would be major legislative obstacles to that.
Trump can't just authorize that.
But more importantly, even though the tariff money is collected from American companies,
if Trump wanted to do this, the cost would be six or so times the total tariff revenue
that American companies have paid to the Treasury.
The idea that Democrats can't do it because they don't impose tariffs and therefore the U.S. will go bankrupt is a jumble of just completely unrelated false claims.
Now, Trump is asked about whether he's seen Ken Paxton's comments that he doesn't have control over his own race.
And Trump goes, oh, no, I've started doing rallies and the rallies are going really well.
What?
I've got a lot of having to call the message.
And you're not doing much better now that I everybody is, since starting three, four days
ago, since starting the rallies, it's brought a whole new awareness to how great the Republicans
are doing, how great the economy is doing in terms of $21 trillion being invested, factories
being built all over the country.
Yeah, people aren't buying it.
People aren't buying it.
were unaware of how great the economy was until he did a rally.
People experienced the economy.
And this is why it's so difficult to talk your way out of a problematic economy.
People buy groceries.
Well, let's see.
Trump did a rally in Nebraska and said, it's all great with groceries.
And then I went to the grocery store in Connecticut and got nothing for $110.
And then Trump goes, we've done affordability on housing.
And then people pay their rent.
They pay their mortgage.
They get utility bills.
and people know what stuff costs, introduce telling people at a rally how the economy is doing.
Give me a break. And then finally, the topic of plague comes up. A little something called the
Russia virus, even though it's a bacteria. We have a terrifying situation right now. I'm after my report,
I think to some degree I was early on this, a pneumonic plague story out of Russia.
In response to the story, I've got friends texting me.
I've got all sorts of people now saying, what is going on with this plague in Russia?
And we don't know.
A worker at an, at a quote, anti-plague research institute in Siberia died.
We're trying to figure out whether the report of a second death is accurate.
Trump's asked, have you spoken to Putin about this?
And he goes, I will be speaking to him very soon.
I have you spoken with President Kuhman?
I have a call scheduled.
Yeah.
Very soon.
And how is this is the call this week?
Three concerns about Trump's reportedly forthcoming call with Vladimir Putin.
Number one, Trump can't tell when Putin's lying to him.
So the idea of we're going to get to the bottom of this by having Trump talk to Putin on the phone.
is not going to get us to the bottom of it because Putin just lies and lies and lies and
Trump can't tell. Number two, Russia is in a war with Ukraine. And so when we even broach the topic
of biological weapons, we should be very skeptical about Russia telling the truth in general.
And then number three, Trump really screwed us on COVID. And so the most terrifying aspect
of this in addition to the possibility of an atypical novel modified pneumonic plague strain,
which is terrible no matter who's the American president, is that Trump is not qualified to deal
with this. He cannot do it. And it's to terrify all of us to even think about the possibility
that we might have Trump as president when we are trying to deal with a potential biological
warfare element coming out of Putin's right.
Russia. I really hope it doesn't come to that because it would be terrifying.

You can be careful with your identity and still have it exposed by a company you've never
heard of and that's what makes this breach so unsettling. 153 million American and Canadian driver's
license scans were leaked to the dark web, mostly belonging to Americans. The scans came from
ID scan.net. They processed 21 million ID checks a month. The leak contains people's photos, names,
birth dates, addresses, and also those infrared and ultraviolet layers that machines use to verify
that a license is authentic. Think about how casually we hand over our IDs. I gave mine to a hotel

Donald Trump forgot that time moves forward and proposed things that would only be possible
with time travel at a completely deranged rally. And music started randomly playing. And in fact,
it wasn't even really a rally. Trump behaved as though it was a rally, but he was actually
announcing investment in a new submarine shipyard. But Trump can't tell the difference. So he does
this routine where he does his accent.
And in this accent, he's describing a phone call he received from Claudia Shinebound, the president
of Mexico.
And he says that she is beautiful.
And she has a beautiful voice.
And she is also elegant.
And here is Trump doing his best impression of a Mexican person who learned to speak English
as a second language.
By ocean and sea, by the Gulf of America.
The Gulf of America.
Not Mexico.
That was a little rough time when I did.
that I got a call from the president of Mexico.
No, no president.
She was a very, no, no president.
A very nice woman, beautiful woman, beautiful voice.
And she said, no, no president, very elegant.
Please, please, tell me it's not so, it's so, I'm sorry.
Please, tell me it is not so.
So we change the name from the Gulf of Mexico
to the Gulf of America.
It is so, I'm sorry.
And no, no, but it's just one of those.
things. I always felt it. Yeah. He felt it really, really strongly. Now, here is where we get into the
time travel portion of the speech. I love this. Donald Trump said there you have the, the war against
Iran ended when the B2 bombers struck Iran's nuclear sites. Okay. Now, I'm going to tell you in a
moment when that was. But Trump's claim is there is no more war right now because when the B2 bombers hit
Iran, it ended the war.
They don't talk about that.
They say, oh, we're in for six months into Iran.
Yeah, Iran's bigger.
But we really ended it as soon as the B2 bombers hit because that was the end of their
nuclear.
That was 95% of the reason we did it, maybe 100%.
Yeah.
This fear is confident and strategic.
There's a little problem with that.
The B2s hit Iran in June of 2025.
And the war didn't start until the last day of February of 2026, eight months later.
And by the way, we are now in month eight of this completely insane war.
So unless time moves backwards or unless there is a time travel capability that Donald
Trump and B2 bombers have that I'm simply not aware of, it seems as though something
is a little bit off with this assessment of time.
Now, I don't know if this was an attempt to save Trump because the speech was going so poorly.
I don't know.
I don't know if it was a technical issue.
I don't know if Black Lives Matters was running audio at this event.
But YMCA randomly started playing during Trump's speech.
I've always had a good relationship, but we're making a lot of money with China.
But my administration has already secured over $76 billion in funding for shipbuilding.
produce more than 80 new ships for the Navy and Coast Guard.
And we're doing a better.
Oh, why is that so funny?
I just love that.
But my administration has already secured over $76 billion in funding for shipbuilding.
Produce more than 80.
It's also, it's not totally clear whether Trump hears it and just talks through it or
whether he didn't hear it for some strange reason.
I don't know.
Okay.
Then we get into what?
I describe as low energy Trump. Oh, no, I'm sorry. Before we get to low energy Trump, the straight
of Hormuz, Trump goes, it's ours. We've got it, which may be one of the, I mean, listen,
if we control the straight and gas prices are still sky high, then I guess Trump's doing it
on purpose. I don't even know what to make of that. Blockades in history. Nobody's ever seen a
blockade like that with no ships zero getting in.
Every once in a while, they'll do a run and they'll either hit the cabin.
If it's got oil, they'll hit the cabin or they'll hit the rudder.
If it doesn't have oil, we just sink the ship.
Yet oil shipments from outside of Iran right now, they're back to almost higher than they've
ever been.
In other words, the Hormor Strait belongs to the United States Navy and the United States
of America.
That's where it belongs and that's where it is right now.
So this is of course completely untrue.
This entire thing to a great degree is hinging on who does control the straight of Hormuz.
Prices of gas and energy aren't up because we control it.
They aren't up because it's open.
They're up because of the opposite of those things.
Okay.
We then get to low energy Trump.
Low energy Trump, who is just, he's out of energy.
He's sort of less like too tired.
He can't really do it.
He goes, we're doing things no one has ever done before.
really inspiring much of anything. And here we are. We're going to, we're doing things that nobody's
ever done before. As an example, this country should have been taken care of. We're into 51 years
now, the bully of the Middle East. This should have been done a long time ago by other presidents
or other countries. Doesn't have to be us. It's always us. Should have been done by other
countries long ago because with time, it just got worse. But we've done a job and frankly, I get
calls all the time from the leaders of the world thanking me very much. I said, good. When are you going
to pay for it? Everyone says, thank you. Thank you, sir. What a ridiculous speech. And this mumbly,
low energy tirade ends when YMCA finally starts again. And Donald Trump.
Trump seemingly waits for applause that never shows up because the audience, I guess,
seems to be mostly military, maybe Navy.
And it is not their practice to clap, I guess, although some do.
It's ever done before with the envy of the world that we're going to keep it that way.
I want to thank you all very much.
God bless you all.
God bless the US Navy.
God bless the United States of America.
Thank you very much, everybody.
All right. Anyway, listen, I'm not going to just keep playing this endlessly for you. The point is an extraordinarily low energy speech. And this is really a setup to get to the next critical aspect of all of this, which is that right wing media are increasingly done with these speeches. Let's talk about that next. Something very interesting is happening at Fox News. Fox News is increasingly deciding that it just doesn't need to carry Donald Trump speeches.
And Trump has noticed. We spoke earlier this week about Trump flipping out about Fox and Friends
Sunday morning, didn't talk about his rally the previous night. And then within 54 minutes,
Fox News was talking about it, clearly wanting to stay on the good side of the dear orange leader.
And so Trump, as I mentioned, spoke yesterday at Sparrow's Point, Maryland, and Fox News carried
it. And after five minutes, watch what happened live.
And we're 21 trillion.
And that's building factories all over the country.
Is building plans.
So that is President Trump speaking in Maryland focused on defense manufacturing.
You hear him there talking about the state of the economy.
We're going to dive into that in just a few moments here.
Let's talk about the reality behind the economy.
And that was it.
Bye-bye.
They cut away.
Trump's speech continued another 25 minutes and Fox News never went back with Will Kane
cutting in and going, oh, he's talking about.
defense in the economy and then he just moves on and they never come back. Now, there are two very
different interpretations of what this means. First of all, I am not suggesting or implying,
nor do we have reason to believe that Fox has instituted some kind of Trump blackout. They
cover Trump all the time. They have hosts and commentators who love Trump. They show clips from
his rallies. A couple of exceptions, but they're still doing all of the stuff. In fact, October 1st,
Sean Hannity carried about 36 straight minutes of Trump's Oklahoma rally. But I want to talk about the
broader pattern. But then I want to give you two different interpretations because I don't think the
the the anybody can just see what happened. But the interpretation is what matters. So media
I looked at Fox's coverage of the recent rallies of Trump. And what they found is that their more
typical approach is they announced Trump is speaking. They go to a correspondent.
at the event and then they select clips afterwards instead of giving Trump huge blocks of programming.
And for years, they were just running the whole speech.
So this is this alone is already a distinction that matters.
It used to be Trump speaks and they carry the whole thing.
And he gets 30, 60, 90, 100, 115 minutes, whatever.
And you get the unfiltered Trump experience.
Fox is saying we've had enough of that.
But there are two different interpretations.
Interpretation number one is that Fox is sick of Trump and Fox is hedging on Trump retaining
power and all of that stuff.
So they're like, we don't value this enough.
We don't respect Trump enough.
We don't think these speeches are important enough to carry them live.
That's one interpretation, which is negative on Trump.
There's a different interpretation now, which is, you know, we are trying to help Trump.
And the truth right now is that people getting unfiltered Trump.
hurts Trump because he's so incoherent. And so you could interpret this as Fox going, the more we show of Trump, the worse it is for Republicans. We are going to try to help themselves by not airing Trump unfiltered. And we'll go to a correspondent who knows how to speak. And then we'll air carefully selected clips, which will make Trump look better. So this could either be a sign of this guy is dead in the water and we're getting the hell away from him.
It's how they're trying to help Trump by making him seem less unhinged than the full speeches
suggest.
I don't know what the answer is.
Now, as I mentioned over the weekend, Trump attacked Fox and friends for not covering his rally.
And he said, you know, I did I did these great rallies in Ohio and Alabama, Texas, Oklahoma.
The viewers want them, Trump said.
And Jessica Tarlov sucks and Maria Barteromo should still be there and all this stuff.
And then he threatened Fox.
And he said, if you don't cover my rallies, your ratings are going to suffer.
And then, I mean, think about how weird it is for a sitting president to tell a cable network
what to do.
Show more of me and my rallies and all of that.
But Fox's response over the weekend was to put him on as clips and saying, hey, we are covering
the rally.
We are doing the right thing.
And then maybe taking that, that, learning that lesson with yesterday's speech, they said,
I will, we'll throw five minutes.
Now, there may be a very mundane explanation here.
You know, television networks have competing interests in Trump's rallies are repetitive and he speaks a long time.
They may just conclude there isn't really any information here.
That doesn't prove an ideological shift.
That doesn't make them anti-Trump.
But it's still interesting politically because Trump seems to think that these speeches and rallies are the most essential thing.
Trump.
Trump believes that his crowds are so big and that it's so enthusiastically clear.
that everybody loves them and that he's transforming races he believes by giving these speeches.
And he said, act as if I'm on the ballot.
But Trump wanting maximum exposure doesn't mean that that matches Fox's priorities.
And it certainly doesn't mean that it matches the priorities of broader Republicans
who are sort of like, man, this guy's hurting us, not helping us.
Trump wants hours of live TV and everybody else is going like, actually less Trump is probably
better for us. We will see where it shakes out in just days in this election, but it is certainly
not looking good at this point in time. And I don't think there is a number of minutes of Trump
speaking. I don't think zero minutes of Trump speaking and I don't think a thousand minutes of
Trump speaking is going to help Republicans in any serious way. Now, on the bonus show today,
we will talk about new polling that shows the left is winning America's health care debate.
very interesting. We will also look at the counterintelligence failures that are taking place
as Donald Trump has focused the FBI on immigration rather than counterintelligence. This is not good.
And we have to announce the death of Jim Baker, the televangelist sort of pioneer, I guess I would say,
who did a lot of horrible things. He has died at 86. We will talk about
We'll talk about it on the bonus show.
