Donovan, if we had a TD3 media day and which you can speak to the fans after a long off season of disappearing,
working on your craft, coming back a new version of you, ready to accomplish a new task,
what would you say to them?
I would say the time for sacrifice is over.
I've gotten everything that I want in years past.
It's time for me to get paid.
Time for me to get my shots.
I am averaging 30 this season.
I'm going for the MVP.
Would you tell the fans you're currently unsatisfied with your contract situation?
probably pretty clearly
and I'll probably walk in and just be like hey
like I spent all offseason
having fun obviously because you know we won the
title last year but I need a new deal
and that really hasn't happened so let's get that done
yo you say that to the fucking media
you're gonna be the most hated man in the front office ever
also he said we won the title I love how in his make
blue scenario he's a Nick not a podcaster
we did very well last year
okay we won a title
Alashton?
Yeah.
Okay.
Okay.
Fair.
I don't see you on a stat sheet, but sure, buddy.
Yeah.
Cardio, man.
You got it.
As you guys see about the title, we are here today to not talk about the fictitious T3 Media
Day.
We are here to react to everything you need to know from NBA Media Day 2026.
It is happening as we speak at 154 on Monday, September 28th.
They're still going on.
We're react to the best quotes that have come out from today's Media Day,
as well as a couple teams who did their Media Day than the last week because they're playing
international in the preseason.
go through all of it
what's interesting
what's important
and talk about it all
let's go
okay
hopefully there's some
juicy stuff
let's come out man
what kind of juicy
you're gonna go with that
no we're not doing that right now
too early
with that being said
cue the intro music
it's actually much less early
than normally we record
but nevertheless still too early
for Moe cue the intro music
let's talk about me today
we're about to run
and listen for
Mix in for it's all.
It's up.
At Big Ben and peace bucket.
Damn.
Jesus Christ.
Holy!
Nuggets!
I could cry.
Brown eaters rejoice.
So let's go ahead and start with the team that had the media day at the end of next week.
The Houston Rockets.
We saw Kevin Durant buck on our screen.
We saw Men Thompson, Operation Schengoon.
But the most interesting headline to come out of this was Marcus Mark
talking about his.
departure from the Los Angeles Lakers.
Marcus Marte says he signed with the Rockets for less money because the Lakers offer was
disrespectful.
He says first off, I played so well that the offer that was ultimately given didn't match
the way that I played, especially when you see guys who played way worse than I did, the offers
they're getting.
And then it wasn't any security that we wanted that we were willing to do.
We talked about this a lot when it happened.
He went with the Rockets on the first day of free agency.
We kind of assumed it was mostly just because he wanted to go home to Texas.
And that is what it is.
I read the whole article.
It is mostly that he wanted to go in Texas.
but like you said he took less money
from the Rockies and he took with the Lakers
but also the Lakers offer is disrespectful
so it kind of sounds like they offered him like 9 mil or whatever
when he thought he deserved 14
so he said fuck that shit I'm going home for six
damn
that was pretty drastic
if you asked me but I can understand it
but 9 mil or 6 million
compared to whatever is that the Lakers actually
offered it's like quite a difference
and I can understand it for someone like him
who had literally no little to know
expectations beyond exceed that help care help lebron and luke canard i guess disappointed in
ruckett's as well it matters and i feel yeah i mean based on what a lot of NBA players have
have said i'm sure um the the difference from la money to houston money because you know there's
taxes and so like i think that it might yeah and so i think it might it might even out it might be
be okay but I can I can see why why for all the reasons that you said that market smart is like
when I'm already leaning to go to one place then that was just that was just the okay that he needed
from the Lakers he really just needed a reason to justify you know going going back home to Texas
as opposed to playing with Luca and Austin Reeves this upcoming year was it a mistake by the Lakers
to give him a disrespectful offer that was nothing you can go home for less money I'm assuming
it was like 9-mill or something or maybe what they gave Colin Sexton and he like I say he probably
won a multi-year mid-level money if he's going to stay at the Lakers anything less than that was
disrespectful for the reasons he outlined was that a mistake to not retain Marcus Smart?
You think it's a problem?
I don't at the end of day if Marcus Smart is ever like a mistake of part of why your season failed
brother you have way bigger issues.
Marcus Smart is additive and he is very helpful and he does things that still some people can't
do on your roster but at the end of the day I don't think it's going to make or break
season. I think what he did last year made a break their season just because they were so in need
of defense and he held the defense together in many ways. But they clearly wanted to get younger,
more athletic and sustainable with the moves that made this free agency cycle. He's old. He was
hurt beyond belief before this past season. Maybe they feel like they caught lightning in a bottle
and got the best case in error out of him health-wise that that gamble when they already want
to go young wasn't worth a multi-year commitment. I'm not terribly mad at that. I would rather in a
vacuum have him than Colin Sexton if things were going to go well.
But it's not a guarantee that all things go well with the youth factor.
I'm kind of, it's whatever.
I get it from both sides.
Yeah.
And also for Marcus Smart, too, like, people not necessarily forget, but he might forget himself that,
you know, right before this year, like, you were not on anything.
You were going from team to team.
You were just hurt and injury riddled.
You went from Memphis, where it wasn't Washington for two seconds.
Like, this is your first good year, and it sucks to say, but I guess the Lakers kind of
feel like he should prove it again.
But, like, is that also not the same thing?
with Colin Sexton of an injury riddle guard that provides that provides something obviously with
Markets Smart it's more defensive leaning Colin Sexton more offensive leaning but this idea of having
this other guard that provides a small boost elsewhere because Colin Sexton doesn't doesn't play a lot
of games as is anyway like he played played 42 games last year he played 26 the year before
63 and then 78 48 1860 like he's not he's not he's not he's not stacking up these years of
I'm just putting up 65, 70 games.
So I think that the injury concern is still there from the Lakers.
And I think when, if you are assuming that you have Luca and Reeves there for the entirety of the season,
then making sure that your defense isn't just a Walker Kessler got us.
I think from that standpoint, it might end up being a mistake.
And they might, like, I can very easily CSB in December.
And you being up here like, man, you know, they really need to.
market smart over the last five games.
It makes it hurt less because they got Matisse Stibble.
If they didn't get Matisse, I would be with that.
But they got Matisse and Zaire Williams,
who I think are pretty good defensive signings for the margins,
that I think we'll avoid that scenario,
but you're right.
There's definitely a scenario in which she is drastically missed.
Yeah, for sure, for sure.
Speaking of, JJ Redick,
press conference last week,
got up there and said,
perhaps the most important thing he said all year,
perhaps the most important thing he said since he joined the Lakers.
In the 2026, 2027 season,
we can now confirm that the Los Angeles Lakers
will not be starting five white players
at the same time come opening nights.
He said he's pretty confident
in three of his starting spots,
assuming that's Luca, Rees, and Kessler.
The other two spots will not be two white guys.
Those are two things I'm confident in.
Ah, Mamu suck ass on the bench.
But he didn't say that won't be one more white guy.
So it could be what we all assume,
Grimes and Mamu, or La Ravia and Zaire,
or Adieu in La Ravir, or connect in La Ravie,
whatever it is, there could be four white guys,
but there will not be five.
That I can guarantee you.
Okay.
And I think Reddick more than a lot of other players,
like being the cold white boy for a majority of his career
and then coaching the coldest white boy out right now in Luca,
I do think that he is very aware of the situation
and how tight he has to walk that rope.
And so that's why he's just putting this out there.
Like, hey, I know what you guys have been saying all offseason.
that's not really what we're on.
I know what's going on in the world.
Just say it.
That's not really us, though.
Just say it.
He saw the snow time tweets.
Of course.
Yeah, that's not me.
He put his hand in the air and said, I'm an ally.
That's not me.
And that's really good.
I do commend that from Gigi Reddy.
Does that make him one of the good ones?
I think so.
Yeah.
And that's all he wants in life, I'm sure.
That's a white basketball player.
That's really important.
He gets the pass.
So I've been building my career for 25 years
of being one of the good ones.
No.
I'm not going to let these guys ruin it in a single offseason.
I've worked so hard for this.
And the sacrifice that for La Ravia?
Hell no.
Hell no.
Grimes are starting.
J.J. Reddick, one of the good ones.
I do hope it's Zaire and Grimes some more I'm thinking about it.
Just to get some athleticism?
Yeah.
Like some middle-moving.
I really see the vision with Zaire feeling that Derek Jones Jr. role.
He didn't start with him for the maps all the time either.
But I do think he could.
of, I think that's the alignment I want to see to start the year.
I almost want to see Grimes for sure, but I think I want to see Matisse,
simply because he's, I think he's stronger than Zaire.
And I don't know, of course, Matisse has, like, injury issues over the course of the last
one year or two years of his career.
Yeah.
But I think the, not necessarily ceiling is higher, but I think he'll lend you to more
versatile defense.
Yeah, he's just smaller.
He's 6.5, which is smaller than you think because he has long arms.
Zaire is a solid 6-9.
So I kind of just want somebody.
that can potentially guard a big wing or like power forward
and not have that have to be Luca.
He's thin those iron things.
He is thin for sure.
Like if they play,
if they play the Celtics,
Luca has to guard Jason Tatum.
That's Matisse, man.
Matisse got that.
He's been doing it for years.
I'll go for the bigger guy
who's also more of a lot of threat,
which I think could be important.
That's fair.
Yeah, but yeah, we'll see.
And better rebounder.
And also I don't want to run Matisse into the ground.
So I think he's going to be awesome for them when he's healthy.
I want him to make his minutes to be fucking managed.
He wants to make his minutes managed.
Make his minutes managed.
But okay.
next headline that came into last week
the car lengthy towns extension talks
have completely stalled
obviously he wants a new deal he's a champion
why should I be the one to sacrifice I'm the star
I figured it out and got us a championship
team said our owner came
in front of a mic last year and said we will not
be going to the second apron no matter what
those are words that are real NBA owners said
with absolute certainty despite being a defending champion
in 2026
so now he's here without a contract at media
day how do we feel about this
I think this is once again
a data point in why James Dolan should be smacked.
Like I think that this is ridiculous.
And I can understand at in the grand scheme of things, fine.
I can understand not going into the second apron for Mitchell Robinson.
Would I have done it?
A hundred percent yes.
And in this specific situation, I would have done it.
And I still am very upset that they didn't do it.
But if you're going to go into the second apron, you should do it for at least one of your stars.
And for somebody who did prove themselves in the in the playoffs, somebody who you did trade a core piece of your franchise at the time in Julius Randall to go get.
And now somebody that really opens up a lot for the way that Brunson plays this, the way that this team operates with a legit stretch big that can space the floor, that can attack everything.
And I think that it's a mistake to not give him a deal.
and he's also not the only one.
It's him.
It's Josh Hart that's looking for a deal.
It's Juice McBride that's looking for a deal.
And you have multiple people now from this championship core where at least give it a year to run it back to see what the Knicks can do and make sure that everybody is in good spirits.
And as opposed to that, Dolan is saying, hey, everybody, I want you guys hungry.
I want to see you guys with a chip on your shoulder.
And I feel like it's a mistake.
He said he wants you guys hungry.
Cat looks skinnier, bro.
He looks hungrier now.
We'll get to that.
Quite literally, bro.
Well, there's a train going around in the league.
We'll get to that in a little bit for sure.
You look hungry.
Yeah.
Yeah, it's not my favorite way to start the, to start the season, especially when Mike
Brown comes out yesterday and is talking about, you know, this is the standard.
And we still have the standard of sacrifice.
And that I do think that the idea of sacrifice is something that made the Knicks so special last year.
And you know that people wanting to get deals is going to creep up.
But that's not on the court sacrifice.
And you have the ability to do it.
I don't think it's the right move.
What type of sacrifice do you think?
I mean, obviously when it comes to this looming deal between him, you said OG.
Josh Hart.
Oh, Josh Hart and Deuce also too.
Obviously, like, there has to be a little bit more.
more sacrifice on probably someone like Kat's end?
You think it will be willing to do that too?
Like play-out wise?
Oh, financially he shouldn't.
I think.
Really?
I think what the Knicks are going to lean on and what they probably are leaning on right
now is, hey, Brunton took his deal a year early and opted for security over maximum
bans.
You can do the same in your situation in terms of taking less money that we can keep
this team together and if you take less then everybody else can get paid and then we can all eat
but that's a that's a very singular situation with brunson where his dad is on the bench yeah
his godfather is in the front office and shout to him that's great that's not cat's situation
that's not josh hart's situation and i think that they are approaching it incorrectly and this is
again it's one of the weirdest things that for years Dolan has been willing to spend
end and now all of a sudden he's he's penny pinching and it it feels weird that's like a
apron hammerer fucking hits bro and that's why i hate the second apron too because it's such a
such like a bail for these owners to to hide behind so it's not it's not cool it can't be that hard
to smack the name's own bro you can find some angry dominican anywhere but he'll do it for free
alleged next up chad hongren has answered our demands after getting ritually abused
by Richard Wobinyama in the 2026 playoffs.
He came back, he put on some weight.
Apparently, he has risen from 213 pounds list of weight last year to 215.
Big weight, Chet.
How are we feeling?
Caduce Chet is in the building.
His ass-local been drinking insured.
He was a kiddie short before the goddamn media day.
That's so funny.
He held in a fart for a little bit.
Except on the scale.
He ate a burger before the pictures.
He put an approaching bar in his pocket.
Didn't you need it.
Just quick carbs.
Real quick.
Now he put on LeBron 10s.
Put on some thick, heavy shoes.
Man, those things were bricks.
They're huge.
The 11s were crazy.
The fucking those.
He put on the 11th, the big ones.
Well, the 11s?
Well, the 11th was crazy.
All right.
Was it angular ones?
The ones are all like spiky looking?
Yeah.
Those are the 11s.
Okay.
Those are, those are aged weird.
Those are five.
I had a pair.
I did too.
You're nice.
You warm with jeans?
Of course.
Yeah.
How could you?
Not it's 2015 or whatever.
Free dress day?
Well, you're just getting,
pre dress day?
Yeah.
Oh, wow.
Okay.
That's tough.
Yeah.
What are you know?
You were to a nice school.
Yeah, check it on.
Wait, how are you feeling?
It's two pounds, bro.
Yeah, I mean, he's going to lose by the end of the day, so I don't know how.
There's really nothing to say.
Like, he didn't answer that question or that information wasn't put out, right?
Like, what is that?
You can lose that by just taking 10K stamps.
What the fuck?
Why is it not putting on weight?
Again?
I mean, at all.
Just have insane metabolism.
I'm sure he tries.
I doubt it.
Maybe just, when he just can't.
There's some people who just can't gain weight.
No, there's not.
There's people that don't understand thermodynamics.
I think they can't gain weight.
He's an NBA athlete with access to grace trainers in the world.
I promise you can put on weight.
Now, maybe he doesn't want to.
Maybe he thinks his game doesn't benefit from it,
which seems to run.
I think Kevin Durant says the same thing.
Like, does want to mess up a jump shot
further. He likes his mobility. Doesn't feel like he's going to have weight that's functional
in that frame. Whatever, maybe. Feels crazy, doesn't it? A little bit. I think, though,
listen, if he's not coming out this season, has he tweening, then I'm a be mad. Yeah, he better
be mobile issue. Yeah, because if you are, if you are going to do this and stay somewhat lean,
somewhat, we don't got to be nice about it. Yeah. And stay skinny as hell. Then, yeah, you should,
You should be mobile.
And we even talked about this last year where people are already posting clips of Chet
his rookie year saying like,
dang,
he doesn't move like that anymore.
And post hip surgery,
if this is now the era and the style of basketball that you're going to play,
you are going to have to bulk up.
And so I'm very,
I am curious to see what the first like 20 games look like because with him playing,
playing at the four,
and as long as they have Hartenstein,
and now that you see the,
the pipeline that they're creating
where we are going to run
these double bigs because Wemby is out there
and so we're drafting all of these sentences.
If they're going to keep him at the fore,
then he really does need to lean in to being mobile,
to being fast, to being agile.
If the two pounds was the difference
between his shot being
one second and two seconds, cool.
Yeah, you're right.
That is the reason why.
It's because he's playing four primarily the season.
You're right, that is exactly the reason why.
Yeah.
shit doesn't understand
that I'm right
some Isaac Newton
don't read a book
it's because you're right
because he wants to be mobile
to play the former often
and we'll see how that goes
I'm sure they'll be reviving
that every single year
we talk about a few years
hate that for touch production
but it's probably good
for their defense and their ability
How much does one be way
it's the best for the team
honestly at this point
bro because even if he had
the opportunity to
which he has before
to play straight out five
and his offense
does look a little bit better
when it matters
the most and when he is asked to do some of the things that he would do if he was at the
fire spot which is great a little bit, shoot a little bit more, whatever.
It all into the same thing.
So it's what it is.
Yeah.
So when we talk about the San Antonio Spurs, the one thing we talk about all summer,
what is up with their guard situation?
They have three star guards.
Hard to imagine you start them all full time.
What does that do for their team chemistry, etc?
Dylan Harper was asked about this about coming out the bench.
He started the interview by said, I'm going to win six man in the year.
He came back later in the interview.
And if I'm reading this correctly, this is after he said that.
he said, what's the political answer here?
I'm gonna do whatever the team needs me to do, man.
If that's come off the bench, that's crazy.
Fuck no.
I ain't coming off no bench.
Later in the conversation, he walked the six-man thing back
because I was lying.
And I think he's saying I was lying
about saying I win six men of the year.
Maybe the context series, he was saying I was lying
about not coming off the bench.
Hard for me to tell, but I'm pretty sure
this is him saying, I don't want to come off the bench.
Hey, man.
Can't win six men of the year if you're starting.
Can't.
Let's get active, Dylan.
Come on, man.
It's my guy.
Nice.
Wait, wait, what's that mean?
He's Filipino.
Oh, that's a Filipino flag or Bandarwood?
Oh, it's the son on the Filipino flag.
And and bedazzled.
Nice.
Yeah.
Tough.
Okay.
Were you pro-badazzle?
Were you allowing the bedazzle trend?
Me allow.
Who might as far my one would get to?
Are you allowing it in your studio?
It passes.
Okay.
So, yeah.
we have a half-joking, maybe half-serious.
I can't really tell for sure
because it's a written article.
Proof of Dylan Harper's saying,
I won't come off the bench.
I don't want to.
He will come off the bench.
Let me make that clear.
He's not saying I'm not going to do it.
He's not making some crazy stand.
He'll do what he needs to do.
He's a good teammate.
But whether it was a half-joke or half-serious or whatever,
he threw that out there.
What do you guys feel about this?
No, he's serious.
He's 100% serious.
And I think that,
so he's 20 years old right now.
Yep.
Darren Fox is 28
almost a decade older than him
he probably hates the hell out of that old man
and
I so you have this quote
do you guys see the story
in GQ there's a profile
of him
and and Stefan Castle
I believe this is from that right
I think so yeah they are
they are and like all the other pictures
that are coming from it
you are seeing the dynamic duo
and the positioning of these two guards
being the future of the spurs
because Deere Fox, be careful.
You are getting back door next week.
It's on the way.
It's getting, it's getting set up.
And it's really just not like, you can't escape it.
And it feels so clear like what is about to happen in San Antonio.
I mean, yeah, that, that GQ thing is, damn near obvious to me.
Because it's like, what's you're going to do?
Have Castle and Deer Fox posted together?
Like, what the fuck is?
Like, that don't make no sense.
Super tough.
Hey.
Pretty tough.
It's cool.
It's tough.
Quite tough.
It is.
Yeah. So do you think they can start all three of them?
Because, I mean, whether or not they trade to Aaron Fox on the line that I think clearly if there's an opportunity to trade him for an All-Star wing, they would do it.
Like, that's pretty obvious to me. There's not that opportunity.
It's probably also obvious to me, at least in this given moment.
Can they start all three of them to start the year? Do you just go for it and do the three guards, put Vassel off the bench and see what happens?
No, I think Vizel got to start because he's one of the, probably the best three-point shooter on this team.
For sure. But I think starting or not, hopefully someone like my...
or whoever in his corner got in his ears like, yo, like the starting role, whatever,
it's just a tightout thing.
You're going to get the most amount of minutes between the two.
Or at least you're going to touch a lot of minutes at the end of the day, which is what we
saw in the Western Conference finals and also in NBA finals as well.
As long as he gets those minutes, which he clearly will because he's good.
He's not blind.
He sees what's going on, obviously online.
And also right in front of his face, as long as he gets like, I don't know, 20 minutes,
30 minutes a game or whatever.
And like, that's not enough.
I mean, as long as it's more than Deeran Fox or it's level with him, that's fine.
But I think more than Deeran Fox, that's pretty, it's just like, that's hard to achieve when you're not starting.
And especially like if Deeran starting is because he still has a cachet and like should play a lot too, he's still very good.
That's easier said than done to accomplish that rotation wise unless you want to play a heavy dose of those three guard lineups.
Yeah, I think you can do that, I think.
Yeah.
You have to, I don't think you could start the year with that.
I think that you have to basically,
like test
Dena Harper and be like, hey,
you had a very good playoffs, right?
You were fantastic in the finals.
But up and down
in the regular season last year, can you come
out this season in your role and be a star
and do all that? And then if you play your way,
like if he comes out in the first half of this year
and he's playing as well as he did in the finals,
then it becomes inevitable and then you will have to start them.
But I think, but to start the year,
they probably have to just keep going with what worked
and see how the season progresses.
Something to monitor all year.
You mentioned this earlier.
Cat's skinny.
Cat's very skinny, actually.
This is quite the crazy picture.
We have multiple big men coming into training camp,
extremely skinny.
He said he likes to lose the weight
that he gained during the season,
during the off season.
I don't remember him doing this before.
He looks incredibly skinny.
He looks like Chet, man.
What the fuck?
Like, that's concerning almost.
And he's going to put weight on.
I think we see this a lot.
The logic he described does happen
where they get skinny in the off season
because they know you don't practice as much.
You have a lot of off time.
It's probably harder to stay on top of things during the season so they gain weight.
So I imagine by December he'll look more like cat and also the angles playing a part of this.
But even with that being considered, that still feels notably more skinny than he was at a normal media day.
This is the first time that he's played into June.
And the idea of giving him, given his body a chance to rest and not, you know, carry around so much weight throughout the off season, I think is smart and it makes sense.
and by the time we get to January
and he's back to looking like regular cat
everyone's going to be making jokes of like
oh wow he's been eating for real
like it's a it's a cycle
but you see like you said you see so many players
go through these these transitions
and stuff like that
yeah so it's probably nothing
in the grand scheme of things
like it probably will get back to being cat we know
but something tomorrow
we'll see how it impacts him early in the season
in which you probably will be playing
closer to this weight than normally
another one to come in skinny to camp
Joel M. Bede
we saw pictures of him
like a month ago, looking incredibly thin.
Like it looked photoshopped.
He looked like a civilian.
Like he wasn't an NBA player.
He still looks that way.
He did that this one to me is meaningful.
In a year in which this team is all in,
five star players in their starting lineup,
they need Joel and B to keep it all together
and play as many games as possible.
This to me seems like a concert effort
to put less pressure on his body
and hopefully help him stay healthy.
He doesn't need to throw around as much weight.
He'll probably still be functionally strong
because he's hit that grow man strength.
And even if not,
even if he can't score quite the same,
They don't need them to score at that much volume, so it's about staying healthy.
This, to me, feels quite important to monitor.
At this point, they've got to try everything.
And this is, like, the last thing that's been, that's the last thing that they haven't tried, just yet to this extreme degree.
And I wonder how he's going to hold up.
And if the banging down low and the girl man's strength still will be there, I assume it will, because he's doing and beaten.
He's a lost little weight last year, too, you know, and he was still as effective.
I just, I'm hoping that this will not necessarily.
be like a bare minimum like 50 game I don't even know 50 games for joan b at this point is
a bare minimum hope it's like a regular 60 game season for joan b that's my expectation
in the standard for him well expectation that's that's a lofty one for what I want the
sixes to achieve if that if that happens he ends up playing 60 games he's not I'm I'm
I'm letting you know he's not 60 I you should you should expect 40 hope
for 50, dream for 60.
Like, that's probably, that's probably the tier.
Fair.
But it's not, it's just not going to happen.
And I do think that, I mean,
last year, he was on track to play in the playoffs.
And they did do a good job of managing him throughout the regular season.
He just got appendicitis going into the playoffs.
Yeah.
Which is, again, unheard of.
So I, I think that, you know, as he is 32, going to be,
33 by the time the playoffs roll around.
This is crazy. He's going to be
33 years old. Jesus.
Speaking of the 76ers and their lofty
goals, we have a first look at 76ers
LeBron James and Jersey that is in Photoshopped.
How does this feel to look at?
He's completely bald now.
He's bald, bald now. He's bald, bald now. And he looks
old as shit. He does.
He looks so old.
Also, that looks like a meme. He's so dark.
This picture didn't know justice.
The iPhone cameras are making him look older than he is.
Yeah.
He looks ancient here.
It looks ashy, too.
Damn.
I mean, he's ancient.
Yeah.
Maybe it's just what he looks like now.
How has it feel?
This is the first time we've seen him in the official, like, say,
his jersey, and it's like, wow.
It feels so random.
But I understand it.
It did hit me today.
The whole offseason, I've been viewing it through the lens of as a Lakers fan.
He needs to leave.
It's time.
The team shouldn't be invested in LeBron James anymore.
I want him to go for him and for the team.
And then the whole,
like the whole choice got like extended to the off season we thought he was in go this that
didn't happen it was just like pure shock he's a sixer now it felt very hollow to me I didn't
really care in a weird way seeing it seeing the lineup together hearing him talk about it
I'm like oh this is quite exciting I think I do really want the section to succeed it's like the
first time that I'm like wow am I going to root for the sixers in some way oh yeah that's crazy
I know then that feel odd I'm in a little bit but you on that boat but I don't know about me
Yeah, I wasn't going to root root either way.
Well, you guys have conference rivals.
I mean, obviously you're not going to be...
Ma, are you rooting for the Sixers?
Absolutely. What do you mean?
Dumbass?
The fuck's going to rival with the Hawks?
Like, I'm straight.
We have no rivalry with the Sixers.
Ask the silly questions.
The fuck?
Of course, I am I going to root for the Sixers?
Do I breathe?
Am I hungry tomorrow morning?
Probably ridiculous.
But yeah, so he's on the Sixers.
Met money.
Things have come out from this.
He's obviously talking about sacrifice.
Everyone needs to do their part, all that typical stuff.
He said, I didn't leave my family to losing the second round.
Wow.
Got some bad news for you, buddy.
It's loud.
He's oral farming for the documentary.
You got missed their second round exit on your team.
Y'all got to get it done.
A lot of Sixers fans were calming.
I'm like, yo, I got bad news for this guy, man.
He doesn't know where he's at is the thing.
Like, he forgets that he's going to Philly.
He said, in order for us to be great, we have to do things that is not comfortable.
I didn't leave my family to losing the second round.
I know that work needs to be done
and I'm ready to put the work in.
This is straight aura farming for the documentary.
This is straight final chapter of the documentary.
I went to the Sixers.
I'm sure the previous 10 minutes would be him agonizing
over leaving his family in L.A.
having to go be without them for six months during the season.
Cue this title card.
I'd leave my family to lose in the second round.
Cut to them in the playoffs, hopefully winning.
Cinema, it works.
You got me.
He's a fucking director.
I'm sure Tom Brady didn't lose his family
to get first round it either.
And guess what?
Like,
it happens.
Why you go to invoke Tompenter this conversation?
God damn it happens.
And so,
like,
I'm probably,
why we got to go to the worst case in area?
I'm sure,
I'm sure that's,
I'm sure that's not the case.
I'm sure that that is not the plan.
But the East is not the same East that he left years ago.
Like,
this East is not sweet.
Because of them.
And, all right.
Yeah,
yeah,
whatever.
Look at that starting five.
Tell me you don't feel the aura.
Let me find out the first time of the East.
is comfy he gets first round
dude
let me let me find out
that can't happen man
that's all going to happen can't happen
no man
anything's possible
it is a deep east like if they
if they have the four or five game
against the Pacers
in their first round they lose
like that's possible
yo Joel's gonna be winded bro
he can't play in that
exactly as possible
so I am optimistic about this team
I should say I'm choosing optimism
and I'm hoping things go well for them
yeah this it should be
it should be a very
a very good team
I am I am expecting them
to be one of the top three seeds in the Eastern Conference.
I do have high hopes, especially as a regular season team,
even with all of these players going in and out,
okay, we lose and B.
We said Brian, Maxie and J.B.
Like, they have so many options on a night-to-night basis
that I think that they will be a wins machine in the regular season.
Yeah, they're just so talented.
Even looking at this picture right now, I'm like, wow, like you said
Braun, Maxi, J.B.
Vijay Edgecom is right there.
and he's not none no one to necessarily just gloss over of course we did because he's a rookie
and all that but he was a top like three pick just a couple just last year and he had a really
good rookie season and he was a big part of the reason why this philadelphia 76ers team ended up
upsetting the boston celtics and he can be whatever the fuck he wants to be in his career whether it be
like this good old like three and d player or whatever which is what i'm assuming he's going to be
this year or if he he was like just ended up being too good to ignore hey man like he could sit down on
average 17 points a game this year and it wouldn't surprise me yep we also got news from this
media day from various sources of reasons while lebron james didn't go to certain teams first off from himself
he confirmed that he did want to go in the nicks and he had a vision for himself to finish his career
in madison square garden doing the destination city retirement thing but couldn't go because they beat the
beat the spurs in the finals and he said i can't do that from his mouth and i did want to retire nick for
fun essentially he thought it'd be cool bro he's lying right no he's lying i i i said he's lying i i
So I don't think that he's lying, but I've never been happier that LeBron's not on my team.
Right now?
He's up right now, yeah.
Imagine how cool would be.
Not cool than a ring, man.
Not cool than a ring, man.
I think it would be pretty cool.
But it is, it is funny because like, bro, especially at this point, yo, Brian, get our name out your mouth, man.
Oh, my God.
You've been doing Nix for Clicked your whole career.
Oh, my God.
You can stop now.
I wish he didn't say this, man.
You can stop now.
But he did, like in D. Wade's last game, when they, after, after their game, he told him, he was like, it's either going to be here.
He was either going to be here or at the garden.
And so it's, it's been a plan, obviously, that he's had for a long time.
But it makes sense that he, that LeBron can't join the team that just won the title.
Yeah.
Like, that would not have flat at all.
Yeah.
So we had a report of this.
Turns out to be true.
They'll be there, though.
A lot of things that were reported about.
about LeBron.
True.
We also got word
from the greatest
LeBron James
insider in the media
business.
Draymond Green
reports on why
LeBron James
did not pick
Golden States.
What did he say,
Fisels?
What did he say?
I don't have a pulled up.
He said,
he couldn't get over
the past,
which is I battled
with these guys over and over
again.
What is that going to
look like for me if I
sign there?
What type of beating
will I get if I go there?
So basically
if German
went to the mic
media day. I was like, LeBron was scared of the hate.
He didn't come here for the hates.
Listen, man.
He couldn't get over the past.
And you know what?
I do like that because that from the one thing that we can't say, or there's a lot of
things obviously that you can say about LeBron, but very clearly in a lot of his moves,
he does have an understanding for the moment that is unlike a lot of other people.
and I think
it's a different stage
of his career obviously
but if he would have went to
the obvious parallel
would have been KD going there
and I think
LeBron having this
epiphany I guess
on this side of the decision
saying oh I'm not going to go there
because it would mean X, Y, Z
is completely different
than KD going there
and then even 10 years later
still
kind of like publicly grappling
with the decision of
hey, I went there and I should kind of be accepted for that and I had the right to do it.
And it's like, nobody ever said that you didn't really have the right.
But there's a reaction that comes with it.
And then LeBron thinking about that on the front end just kind of shows the way that he's moved throughout his career.
And not going to go to state, not going to New York, it all falls in line with these thinking.
And at least right now, this year and this offseason might have been one of the most honest
off seasons from LeBron that we've seen.
Yeah.
I mean, I don't think he's lying.
about anything. I agree. Something that you've been saying for a minute now is you believe
LeBron James is super calculated. And yeah, like he pays attention to his story and what certain
things means. And if he was to go to the Warriors, like, I guess maybe, maybe it's a slightly
different conversation of Anthony Davis is there or whatever. But let's even entertain the thought
of the Warriors. No one will ever have them winning like the championship or they won't be
heavily favored in odds or anything like that. At that point in time, if you're not there to win and
you lose. It like not necessarily stains his resume of course because his job is done as like an
NBA all-time player. But it does look a little ugly at to look down on your basketball
reference in 20 year 24 or whatever year he's in. It's like a random nasty golden state year and
you only play 60 games and yada yada yada yada. It just doesn't feel good. You know, it's not additive
to his career at all. So instead of you get a nasty sixers year? You know, nasty 60s year potentially.
But guess what?
It's with a clear purpose that's commendable and respectable.
Like, could you imagine if he led Joel M.B.
to his first NBA finals?
It's like, oh.
Which he said.
It's cool.
Yeah, he said on mind the game.
Like, that's one of the main things.
And one of the reasons why he's here is to, you know, help Joel get the one thing
that's missing from, from his trophy case.
And I think the, like, this goes back to our conversation about whether or not he,
about the idea that he's, like, choosing to be the fourth option and why that's
different than being put in that spot in L.A.
and I can see this working very, very well for that.
He gets more legacy points being with Duelan B
versus being with someone like Stefan,
like doing whatever might be on the table.
He does.
He didn't want to win Lucas first ring?
He motivated by that?
I mean, he probably did, but also they forced him to do that.
They forced him to do that.
The front office didn't want him there.
You didn't want him there.
So I think being in a place where he feels chosen.
Yeah.
And that's fair.
And that last part was the most important part.
He knew I didn't want him here and he left for my mental health.
He heard.
Everybody wants to be wanted, man.
He's clearly tapped in on eBay Twitter.
He's tapped.
Exactly.
I didn't tweet it one time.
That means he's tapping into the D3 podcast.
Speaking of things that people didn't like and were forced to do,
Jalen Brown, when asked who the Sixers Alpha is.
Next question.
What is going on, bro?
Why would you ask this?
Yeah, I don't know why he would ask this to him.
Like, what answer do you expect, Jaylon Brown to say?
Like, what does he possibly going to be like, hey, it's me?
It's Tyrus.
It's Brunt.
Like, any answer's bad other than, man, get out of here.
Like, what are you trying to do?
I think any time I hear the term alpha at this point, I'm like,
I run away, run away.
Yeah.
Yeah.
It's not really my favorite.
So, good job, Jalen.
That's one of the first good pieces of media.
a media maneuvering that he's had
the entire summer.
Yeah.
Successfully ducking the clickbait.
Oh, man.
Good job.
It is a silly question.
Bad reporter.
I mean, I don't know if it was a bad reporter.
It was a poorly phrased question.
I think it is fine to ask the general point of like
how you guys manage this
pretty unique circumstance you're now in.
But straight up.
And the best way to do that is Balf in the room.
Who's the alpha?
Pretty bad phrasing.
They just gave him more ammo to go on a Twitter stream in two months and be like,
Man, the media just be out here.
I hate the media.
Bro, Jalen Brown should have took his shoe off
and done the reverse George Bush
just took his show off and threw at his ass.
Not even next question.
Speaking of throwing shoes,
people like deserve to get shoes on at them.
Joe Dumar says,
if Pelicans want to be a playoff team.
It doesn't everyone.
Doesn't everybody, right?
Everybody deserves to have a dream.
Like, everybody deserves to have a thought
and a hope and an aspiration in this world.
Why shouldn't the Pelicans want to be a playoff team?
We'd like to be a playoff team.
Nice, man.
I'd like to be the biggest YouTuber on Earth.
What's more likely?
I see that.
The Pelicans are sniffing the playoffs, bro.
Yeah.
Not sniffing is mean.
I think they'll be like a feisty.
They'll sniffing.
They'll be like a team or something like that.
They'll catch an aroma from across the hall.
But they'll get denied at the door.
If it's too whack, they got to tell them this is a dress code.
You can't wear shorts in the club.
Yeah, they're just going to be too far gone, man.
Yeah.
You got to make it from mine.
It's like when you're walking down, you get a whiff of dog piss.
Hmm, interesting.
The body, you just keep pushing.
That's not your reality.
There's no dogs around?
Yeah.
Man, don't want to make it clear.
I want us to know as a show, as a community of current years watching,
the Pelicans do want to be a playoff team.
Stamp it.
I mean, that's kind of improvement from last year.
Because remember last year, he was going back and forth,
and he was saying, like, oh, we actually are rebuilding.
little bit. So I guess in his mind
they're going for it.
Nice. And what the fuck does that mean?
It means that
he thinks that they're taking steps as a franchise.
Again, we got to, we gotta reward
confidence. No one's ever said
Joe Dumontz doesn't got that.
Anybody can have confidence, no, man.
There might be the one thing he does have at this point.
And they'll be a lot to get you places. I don't know if we'll get you to the
playoffs, but we'll get you somewhere. And so yeah,
I'm glad he believes that.
Okay. Chris Osperzingis is already out
indefinitely.
He was reporting to the team
and the team was under the assumption
he'd be available.
Well, I think they said yesterday
it was confirmed to them
that he's out indefinitely
with an illness,
presumably the same health issues
that he's been dealing with
since his Celtics career fell apart
because of this
and the lack of availability
that comes with
this chronic illness he's dealing with.
Sucks, they're starting the injury
riddle season right away.
That's sad, man.
Honestly, I think he should just retire
at this point.
I can keep catching those checks.
They'll give him to you, take them.
They keep offering them 40 million hours.
What's the hell?
I'm not leaving.
I'm going to be sick and dealing with that, give me millions to deal with it.
Yeah, of course.
It's cool, but it's just so debilitating to hear as a fan.
If any fan has any expectation of, like, KP, being healthy for your team, which I fell for that last year.
Ah, man, I got bad news for you.
Super bad news.
Speaking of things you fell for, Zachary Shays and some new threads.
Posted with the starting lineup of the Dallas Mavericks, new looks starting five, presumably.
Maybe that's why they're taking this picture?
Karee, Zach.
Cooper Flag, PJ Washington, Derek lively.
Kind of big.
Can I tell you something?
I kind of see the vision.
It's a good team.
I kind of see the vision.
Yeah.
I kind of hope Zach starts.
I kind of hope that he figures it out in this role.
And like this team taking a bet on him in a role they see fit for him.
They always liked him.
Him just needed to be a three and D fifth option.
If it works out and he can be the defensive thing that you thought he could be,
I see some here.
I think he 100% can.
And I think if Cooper Flagg and Kyrie's playmaking,
do equate to having like good team synergy overall.
I can see Zachary Rishay going back to his rookie year.
Brian's like he's like doing it's 11 points actually.
It was actually 12.
Oh, you let it up.
12 points.
Yes, exactly.
And just having a lot of good catch and shoot opportunities and just making like easy cuts.
Straight baseline drives.
Pull up two pointers.
Easy bro.
Like you can do that.
You know, when,
whenever they inevitably trade PJ Washington at the deadline,
start Merez there.
I see the vision with his team.
I see what they're cooking.
I think maybe Rishasei sucks and it means nothing.
We'll see.
Or maybe this is a good second draft guy taking a chance on him
and he fits well with Cooper Flagg and they have this length
and kind of insulate Kyrie and Derek Lively is one in fives.
He's in the second stage of his career, bro.
Like right now as he speak,
we finally got rid of the whole Atlanta stink stuff
and him being the number one overall pick.
Now people just look at him as like, yeah,
you're Rishay, bro. That's it.
This is another dude and Lee trying to figure it out and keep a job.
Respect.
Respect.
Yeah.
Sure.
Do you have high hope for Zachary Rishay and the new look at the Al's Mavericks?
To me, those are two different questions.
Nope, make him the same.
And yes, I do.
Because I do have, I do have hope for the Mavericks.
And I do like what they are cooking.
Even last year, I thought that they could be somewhat frisky and that they had
the potential to be at like the bottom of the playing race
and you know before the whole DLO experiment went
went south but if if he can be there
in average nine points fine it really it really
give you good defense most important it really does not matter
for them yes it does though I don't you're saying but yes it does though
I do think that like when you take gambols like that like that when I say it matters
I mean like if it works and they can get him in a better situation to get back to
what we thought he could be
after his rookie year.
We didn't enter that.
We didn't exit that
rookie year thinking
he was fucking horrible.
We actually thinking,
okay,
that's a regular 3-&D player.
Shouldn't have gone number one overall,
but that can be a good player
that can defend.
That's what I don't,
like I think even at his best,
I don't think he's anybody that
even as a,
as a 3-D guy is need a moving.
And so I think that if he,
if we get into next year
and you're still building on
what the maps have,
you can find another 3-D guy
and it would be fun.
It's harder than you think of.
Yeah,
those guys are valuable.
I think finding those types of,
taking a chance on a guy like that,
it was a distressed asset
and molding him to be that.
Even a regular 3MD guy
makes $15, $20 million a year.
Like, I think those are the type of margin moves
that if it works,
that could like seriously accelerate you.
He's a better, he's a better,
in theory, he's a better defendant
than he is shooter.
And if you're, like,
if he's just going to shoot league average
or around there,
that's a hit.
Then I'm saying,
I think that you can find somebody
in that spot that either leans a little bit more,
towards either side and that might be a little bit more helpful than
than having somebody who is just average at both.
But let me tell you this.
The ceiling is better with Zachary Richet and do you even remember what they traded
them for?
No.
No one remembers bro.
It doesn't fucking matter.
It's a great bet.
If it doesn't work out then it doesn't matter for sure.
But I think there's enough there ceiling wise and like hope for giving a guy another chance
wise, hope that we can fix him, which again, we're acting like he's broken. He's just mid and
didn't do anything. It's not like he's absolutely putrid and can't play. It's just for the
couldn't play. For the standards of number one pick, absolutely putrid. For a regular young player
that needs a fresh start. Like, if he was the 15th pick, it'd be like, okay, that's a guy
you take a chance on and see what you can do over a team that doesn't have control over their picks.
Like, if it works out, I think that could be very seriously impactful for him.
What's the last like new scenery guy that really, really worked out? Let me check. It happens
a fair amount, I think.
Like, yeah, and I know, I know, I know,
Wiggins.
That's almost on my head.
That's like the most famous.
Yeah.
Obviously there's levels to this shit.
He's not like, he doesn't, he doesn't possess any, he doesn't possess 90% of the tools that, that Wiggins has.
Porzengis when he went to the Celtics?
Again, not everything's championship.
And that's all, and even then that's on like team, team three.
But I'm in more so just in recent history of top five, top, top six.
The Nets to DeLo, which again, it's not all about winning a championship.
They got an also year out of him, got value out of him.
I think it does happen a fair amount.
Does it always happen when I'm going to all picks?
No.
But I do think the idea of a young player going to a second team and a team makes him into a rotation player and it like moves needles for them.
I think it probably does happen more than we think.
Yeah.
No, most definitely it does.
I'm not sending a high bar here.
It's like be a fit starter.
And this team specifically needs to find those type of guys.
Like it's different because he's a number of an overall pick.
But can you be a usable rotation player with.
your expectations of diminished and overall
just like whole vibes is reset.
Like so many guys have done that over the course of the year.
The Lakers saved Malik Monk got him paid by another team
because they couldn't pay him.
He came that one year and gave him some spark off the bench.
Happens a decent amount.
I hope it happens for him because that Mads team
could be very, very fun, very, very quickly.
I agree.
Kauai Leonard is on the Toronto Raptors now
and he is wearing way too many accessories
in a way I've never seen him do.
Forearm band, full sleeve, and thick ass headband.
Who gave him VC?
Speaking of, when talking about leaving the Clippers to join the Toronto Raptors,
he says that he felt he wasn't in a competitive situation last year with the Clippers
and feels that Toronto Raptors give him a real chance to compete for a championship.
He said, I need the pressure.
I want to be in a winning situation.
You know, I really have no choice but to respect this.
No matter what he says or does.
No matter what.
I've heard a lot of podcasters, mostly like old white dudes, be like really, really happy.
a lot of like just like fervor in their voice around kawai because he got off scot free from
the cheating thing they really have this like distaste in their mouth for him i've respected him in
every step of the way i'm not gonna lie they had a need for for somebody to be punished that is the
carcoral punishment to kawai lennard and i don't care about that every time he talks i'm like i gotta
give it to him the smirk on his face yo he's just so happy you can't believe he got off so
easily too so i i feel i feel more emboldened to support him just because i really can't stand that
tone certain media members have when talking about him.
Yeah, and like, I think that, so when we did the quiet episode after the ruling came out,
I was like, I think that he probably should have had a little bit more punishment,
but it was very clear a tactic from the NBA to make sure that bomber can't go into arbitration.
But if you get off of one of the biggest scams that you've ever ran in your life,
and you get basically everything that you want, you got another kind of,
track you got to go to the team bet that you wanted to you got to go back to a fan base that that loves you
do have you do have the obligation to come out and act as recklessly and as obnoxious as possible
and just flaunt the flunt your freedom yeah in everybody's face be so you put that other tweet in
the bottom of the doc about this the before and after because i think you're right i don't know if he
feels obligation to flaunt but i do think he looks like he feels the obligation to be grateful for the
day. He really appreciates the spot he's in. Here we see the difference between Kauai's
two raptors pressers is actually killing me. In 2018 he didn't speak until he got to ask
a question today man sat down and hit us with a hey everyone thanks for coming. He knew
he just got off from the worst potential arrest of his life bro. He does he
done some serious problems yeah this is so this is so funny and you have you can't do
anything but smile and say you know what kudos you're doing it the right way yeah now he's
thoroughly living life bro he's going out in Asia making record labels and shit bro just the pocket
for us left and right yeah making music himself bro life is great yeah we have to be careful
the kawai podcast is a year away now be cinema yeah everyone has a bit like 15 minutes long
no one has it better than him I know truly like what a role model man
I need to hit a lick.
I got to figure something out.
I don't know what it can be, but I got to figure it out.
She got to do with the Kauaiway, though.
Everyone, like sometimes wakes up in the morning and be like,
yo, I need to hit a lick, bro.
I need this money in my account.
By tomorrow, just ends up bouncing back in their face.
I got to find a family member who will do some nefarious things in my name.
Yeah.
And I can be like, hey, he's tripping.
Speaking of, Rui Hachimora, when asked why he decided to go to the Clippers.
You know, he had a friend of him.
probably right market as a big shooter
that can go multiple places.
He said the one thing everyone says about the clippers
is how well they take care of their players.
He just lined his ass off.
Who the hell said this shit?
Kawai.
Kawai.
Kawai.
They got his uncle fired, man.
Does he really?
He's not run by his uncle.
I don't get my uncle fired like shit for $50 million.
I'll easily get my uncle banned from the NBA
for $15 million.
There's more players who say
who would disagree with this, then agree with this.
It's Steve Bomber who takes care of his players.
If his next team is the Bucks,
okay.
Okay.
Oh, man, it's hilarious.
Sad I really, man,
not having a single ounce of awareness of the things he says.
Just talking.
Speaking of talking,
Stefan Castle called Madison Square Garden,
weak as fuck.
He said it was underwhelming in that first game.
They made it seem like it was going to be way crazier in there.
OKC was way louder than it.
That's so crazy, dude, because avogers, people who go to Madison Square Garden on an often basis, consistent basis, would always say, like, yo, this is the craziest place has ever been.
And he just like, yeah, I think we're not shit, bro.
OKC was louder.
Then boys Oklahoma, different.
That might be, that might be more about OKC than anything, because OKC does have an insane home court advantage.
So I think he's probably right, like, factually.
But fuck all that.
He said he walked into your house and shit stunk like shit.
It was easy in there.
How do you feel about this, Donovan?
I mean
It's okay
I can understand this
You know
They're charging people
$8,000 just to get in the door
Even more
The CEOs went rowdy
Yeah I get it
I get it
But also I mean
Listen game four
He was two of seven from the field
His homie was missing free throws
Left and right
So clearly it was loud enough
Which homie?
The big one
Oh, the big one's his name?
Yeah.
Victor, I think.
Oh, it's in France, yeah.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Oh, the French guy.
Yeah.
So.
Kind of weak.
So clearly there was some level of, of, well, that he was, you know, for, hey, man, 4-1 is 4-1.
Mm.
But he said in that first game only, though.
He did specify that.
I didn't see that.
Just like.
The first game was also weird because they had.
oh boy there
who
oh true
I forget about that
chill down their spine
it was weird vibes
yeah yeah yeah
that that game three
is one of like
the weirder
vibes around the game
that I can remember
so suck all the fun out of the air
yeah
fair
yeah
okay
the Los Angeles clipper
has continued to be
the most unlucky
team ever
actually I shouldn't say
they're unlucky
for the first time
after trading for Brandon Ingram
and giving
him a surgery to repair the injured heel he was dealing with that they knew about.
They found a partially torn Achilles tendon.
Wow.
That's crazy as fuck.
Normally from what I've gathered in a quick Twitter look,
six months is the normal estimate time for a torn Achilles.
You don't go out of the med school, basically.
For what I've seen others say, that's about assumed a six-month recovery time.
So he's out for the year?
Well, I imagine that this was probably a couple months ago, so we'll see you in January.
Yeah. There's some,
something tells me that there's no way in hell that they just found that out
through another procedure that was being done.
And that's probably why they ended up giving up like,
what, two first round picks, I believe, or picks off or something like that, extra.
And fairs, I mean, I guess that's a good swap,
knowing that he is somewhat like damage.
I'm pissed off if I'm steep off.
He knew, he knew, but he knew, I promise.
He couldn't even get a call because he's banned.
So they had to be outside of his house.
With Q cards saying, hey, man, he tore his Achilles.
I would be so, this is one of the worst summers for a Clippers fan, for really any fan in NBA history.
I look that you have to say one of and you can't say the worst summer, which is quite hilarious.
That's the only team you have to say that for it.
Yeah.
Because they've had a couple worse one.
That's crazy.
Most teams, this is rock bottom.
But we've been here before.
Yeah, you had your owner remove on a racism scandal.
It's kind of tough.
Jalen Duren is not reporting
to Media Day today
as he does not have a trading camp
I mean does not have a signed schedule yet
ahead of trading camp
is confirmed by Shams
that he was offered
that $40 million a year
$200 million deal
which he declined
so he cannot be either today
what a goddamn distraction
at this point
wow man
more power to him
get your money
apparently they keep up in the offer
get whatever you can
you know they played with you to begin with
you should hold out
and do what you have to do
get your most money
I'm not holding against him at all
but man for the Pistons
you're allowing a huge
distraction to fill that locker room to start the year.
Wow, man.
It is. And honestly,
if the distraction will only be worth it,
if it comes out and just looks like a different
player, more locked and defensively intangibles
are just out of this world, which hopefully
they will be as time goes on when that
contract continuously grows.
But man, as a fan, if I was a Pistons fan,
I won't want them on my team anymore.
I'd be just fully done with this. I've seen a lot of that
sentiment around that they're just kind of sick
it that the he's a good player but if there's a sign and trade on the table that it gives you
adequate value that maybe it's not worth the headache yeah and like i can if i'm putting myself
in jail endurance position i can understand like yo you wanted to if i remember correctly he
wanted a contract extension last year and the places were like hold up big dog like prove it to us show
show some more and you walk into the year of course all-mbia all-star team yada yada yada big big big
talking point when it comes to being the reason why the Pistons won 60 games or whatever it was.
And then this offseason happens.
The numbers don't align necessarily.
And Asar gets a contract immediately, like day one, no matter what.
And it was in the same exact position as you were last year.
That does rub me the wrong way slightly.
But also, you got what you, you got pretty much what you want.
And now you're just upping the offer.
I can never say I don't understand spite.
fundamentally I understand spite
whether or not you choose to agree with it
or say I condone it to each their own
either you're a spiteful guy
and understand or you're not
I can't really debate you either way
that is literally to each their own
but I have to like I can never criticize it
and say what is he thinking
I know precisely what he's thinking
he's thinking they have now offered me
the exact amount of money I would make
if I took the qualifying offer
and took a max in the Kings next year
the most I could come from that route
is $199 million over five years
they offer 200 they did the bare
minimum they could to appease me to not leave.
He's saying, you piss me off. I need more than the
bare minimum. Give me two ten.
I can at least, clearly I understand why he's
saying that.
It's been the whole thing this
entire summer is
it's very clear the
the levels of disrespect that he feels
and at a certain table.
I mean at a certain time
you just got to stand up for yourself.
Like if you feel like
you're being disrespected, you just can't sit there
and let them and let them disrespect you
to your face for the pistons,
it may ultimately bear out to be a,
the more beneficial thing.
Like maybe Dern doesn't take another leap
and you'd rather not have somebody locked in
for $200 million for five years
when they're going to be, you know,
maybe 18 and 10 for those five years
and just be a pretty good,
even if he improves massively as a playoff player,
be a pretty good playoff player.
They'll probably do more to,
to handcuff your team building to do that.
But I mean, damn, you really got to know who you are
and where you've come from.
And to be doing this on the heels of a 61 year
and K-leveling up and everybody feeling the best
that they felt about your franchise in years,
I don't think I would have had the stomach
to tell Jalen Duren, no, we're not going to give you this money.
I think I would have given them the money much sooner.
But that also may just be me
And I'm probably just not fit to be a GM
And go and go through
Negotiations like this
So I'm just conflict diverse
Yeah
You know what, you got a big dog
Whatever you want man
And you said that many times
The stadium pulse would be high
Yeah
I just I probably can't do it
Yeah
That's real
That's just not
Where my strengths lie
I'm already predicting them the tank
At this point
The tank?
No no no
No
Like, take.
Like,
Take from where they came from.
Yeah, yeah, plummet.
Okay.
To clarify that, man.
Two completely different takes.
Holy shit.
Like, he slurt us.
Shit.
That was crazy.
Yo.
So plummet.
Yeah, it's a plummet.
I, I, I agree.
I think for, for chemistry reasons.
T.
I think for chemistry reasons and for offensive reasons that if everybody on that team hasn't leveled up
or if you haven't got one or two massive offensive leaps on that team, one, they're not going to win 60 games again.
Two, we've talked about how the East is not sweet anymore.
I can very easily see them being a five seed, being a six seed in the East this year.
And it wouldn't, it wouldn't shock me in the least.
Yeah, it's clearly in the wrong possibility.
Shay Gildas Alexander this summer
Shaved his hair off
Went low cut
I remember like very low cut
Yeah
That was like what July
Mm-hmm
The braids are back
Damn
Whoa
She had a fade two weeks ago
Those are extensions
Per who ever tweeted this
Wow man
And there's like a lot of rolls
In that too
Like that's a lot of hair
And they don't look tight either
Yeah
Like
Are you guys concerned
You clearly would know more
about the subject than I do, are we considering the possibility that the tweet is right?
Extensions are mad popular these days.
There's someone in New York goes dumb, and I know they'd done Brunson's hair before.
Could he have grown it out that fast?
First of all, you shut your mouth.
You know, I'm not lying.
I mean, Brentons is like clearly.
Yeah.
Could she have grown out fast enough?
You stop that.
Since July?
Was it?
Three months?
Yeah.
That's longer than you think.
It's a lot of time.
I wonder how long each braid.
That'll tell me everything.
I think, yes.
If like the corn row in the back is like short, then it's like, okay.
It's cool.
Say, do it three, six.
Yeah, it's like spin around for me.
Yeah, it's like spinning around.
Meek check.
Let me see that.
I'm the meek check.
What about the hell?
He cracks himself up.
It sounded crazy.
I said meek check.
Do crack myself up.
He's still crack myself up.
No, that's funny.
He's just a knee slapper.
No, literally.
Oh, my God.
Maybe.
I've seen people's hair grow out pretty, pretty quickly.
But three months to get back to where it was, that seems like I need to know what drops he's been using.
Yeah, he got to turn around, man.
I got to see how long, how long the meeks are.
That told me everything.
We got a picture, a video actually, of Paul George in his jersey.
Oh shit
How did we feel about this
This visual
Of Celtics
Paul George
Are he grew the beard back
Okay
Play the video for me
Because we gotta get the full experience here
All right
Yeah gonna mute it
You let my fire
No
Not the pose
He's doing the gillie
No he's doing to gilly
play it again
What is this like just viscerally what comes out of you when you see this
This should have happened fucking 10 years ago
He said the same thing
He said he wishes he was here sooner
He very much enjoys his time and has been happy
Since becoming a Celtic
Good for him
Honestly he doesn't look as wash
A lot of unchange team this year
We have a lot of these
Yeah
Go below this tweet there is another one of LeBron James
We have a lot
Not below the tweet
We have a lot of these curse
that have entered the league this year.
Some of these are going to be horrible.
We're going to look back and be like, damn,
Clay was on the heat.
Oh, my goodness.
Oh, man.
That's, that's going to be bad.
For PG, I think it's a little bit better just because this is the error that he's in.
Last year, when, or when he was in Philly for the first time,
that one was very, very shocking, I think.
And it was very clear, like, oh, yeah.
Oh, that picture can go like.
this.
Yeah.
Yeah. It's, it's not, it's not gonna, gonna work out here.
Let's see this LeBron video.
This LeBron video?
I'm trying to pull it up.
I don't see it.
It's right below the PG one.
Right below it.
I think, yeah, I think PG,
Kyrie had said something about it to all the,
you're right, all the old guys.
I do think that it gets to a point where,
it kind of becomes like endearing.
Where no, no longer you, like,
you don't get the shock of, oh, wow, you're watch.
You're just like, man, I'm glad you're still here.
Like an old dog?
Yeah.
Okay.
Okay.
Okay.
Okay.
Now that makes the worst a little bit.
This is not one of those situations.
Ah, man.
Okay.
The screaming is hilarious.
Yeah.
But he doesn't look overly washed though.
Cap.
I'm trying to lie for you.
King.
It's not working out right now.
He's really bald bald.
Like this is the first time he's looked bald.
Oh, wow.
It's smooth.
It's smooth.
That pose lends itself to look and watch.
It's a watch pose.
Yeah, it is.
You don't see any star players who are like in the prime of the career doing that.
Bro, he looks exactly like Quincy AC.
Oh, man.
Oh, man.
The bald head big beer combo.
No, man.
He does that 360.
Watch.
Watch.
Hold on.
Damn, there's nothing up there.
I will say he has to get his head shinier.
Shiner.
If you're going to rock the baldy, you really have to put a lot of time into it.
And I do think we need to see, like, in his commercials, made the comments about all the good barbers in Philly.
I know Brown is going back and forth between Philly and in New York.
I think within three months, we should have a video of.
LeBron at some studio where they have his head back on the on the barber chair.
I need full towel on the on the dome.
We're getting shaving cream full shave, you know, getting in the head buffed and everything.
I think he needs to be a little bit better of a baldy.
I don't think he's reaching his full potential.
You're right.
It's kind of mat bald right now.
It's not really bad.
Matt balls.
It's kind of dull.
You have a pretty powder on it?
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Like what Caruso is doing in the in the space.
It's legendary.
Yeah,
I think Caruso's been a pioneer.
I think LeBron has a lot to learn about being bald.
It's his first time being balls.
That's fair.
Yeah,
so I understand that there's like levels to get in things of like the trade that you,
you only pick up after you've been in the game for a minute.
No one's good at everything right away.
Like this is unrealistic to ask him that.
Like anybody who learns a new scheme,
a quarterback being thrust into something new,
we get in time.
You have a month of regular season games to adjust.
LeBron needs like three months to adjust to being a baldy for real.
Yeah.
That's fair.
Speaking of LeBron James,
the other one says,
Ronnie James are no longer
being a teammate with his dad.
I'm excited to experience
something different with him not being here
and to see how the staff treats me
without him being here.
No, he's mad real for that, bro.
He's so real.
I know his ass was laughing
when he said this.
Yeah.
That's so real.
He probably experienced some shit already, bro.
His house was in Slovenia with Luca.
Just felt like a dude.
I know.
Which, that must be so relieving.
To not have to go to work
with your dad,
saying his person on the planet to just be a dude.
It was just feel awesome.
I granted it to the back of his jersey, he still said James, so he's only kind of a dude.
But it must feel pretty relieving for him, I imagine.
You might have to get his real college experience now.
Yeah.
In L.A.?
Dad's out of town.
I've got to hear him.
Oh, bad.
Luca Donchich.
Hold that thought.
Luca Donchish.
I'm playing golf against Austin Reed.
He gave me some strokes as you should
Wow
Wow
Real quote
Austin's like that man
Austin's like that
He's learned a thing or two from Ron
And you've been told me that
You've been aware
Of you're talking about that last year
Did I?
Yeah you're talking about this last year
Hmm
I guess so
What have I witnessed
To attribute to this
He said he gave me some strokes
As he should
okay so I think naturally sometimes like on on first glance of this quote some people might say hey
Lucas from Slovenia right he's this is not his his first language right he's he's not fully
understanding the way that certain words are coming across however I'm gonna push back to that
and say that he's been here for a minute was real tapped in to to American calls
and Dallas culture.
He loved Dallas.
So I think he knew what he was doing.
And for that,
shout out to you, Luca.
You're playing the game the right way.
I just found out
that Anthony Edwards is also extremely real.
I feel like a natural two guard at heart.
I never thought I could develop
any real point guard skills.
I know Finchie harps on me passing the ball,
but now we got lamello.
I'm so happy.
This is what I've been saying
for two years.
Motherfugger's been telling me
make him the point guard.
And I've been saying,
I hate watching that with all my heart.
For the past two deadlines,
I've said,
please get him a point guard.
This shit is not going to stick.
It's clearly a stopgap until we can find the new Mike colony because he's too old to play this role.
It's been so utterly appearance.
And some Anthony Edwards fans will tell you it's not true.
He can do it.
He can be the lead initiator.
We were fine.
We made the conference finals of him doing that.
That shit was so clearly unideal for him.
I'm so glad to hear he feels the same way.
I love this so much.
He said, I ain't passing for shit next to your number one.
He said, I'm a bunch.
He said, I'm a bunch.
He don't ask me to do anything else.
Man, that's fire.
That's a, that's a fantastic quote.
I'm going to look back on this error and think those are the two years I hated advanced career the most.
I hate him.
We didn't have a point guard next to him.
It was terrible.
Oh my God.
Oh my God.
Pulled this one up.
Speaking of Washington.
Oh, my God.
What happens?
Is this Clay?
It's Clay Thompson in the Miami Heat Jersey doing nonsense.
Why is he moving so erratically?
I've been waiting for this.
Look at this goofy about you.
He's never pulled that move off a day in his life, man.
Never in a game.
Why is he moving?
like this?
Why he looks so silly?
He's hanging at paw
a little bit too long.
Oh my God.
Just about here, guys.
His animations are so
as, get some VC.
Bro, this is when you pick your animation
on the screen, your guys just sitting there
doing them.
Yeah. Like, repeated.
Deciding his movement style.
He's a little like silly bands, man.
What's going on?
Oh, this is bad.
Oh.
No, that's funny.
He's chopping the stories.
Okay.
And all seriousness, I'm excited, man.
I'm excited as fuck for this season for the Miami Heat.
Yes, but this does look bad.
This is, um, dare I say, top, top three most watched anybody's ever looked.
Got to be up there.
Got to be in the combos.
I mean, we know Shaq and KG get to have the two top spots.
I think maybe Clay is vying for a spot.
I'm out Rushmore.
Because even KG's watch.
washed, uh, washed placing, placement.
I understand that.
And, but I don't think he looked at as watches as Shaq did.
I don't think he's, he's looking at as watches as play.
It's good.
It's tough to compete with Shaq because Shaq was like gigantic.
Yeah, exactly.
When you get to be like an obese NBA player, there's not looking more washed.
It's, it's hard.
And at least for like, KG, KG is going to be skinny his entire life.
Yeah.
You know, so he's always going to look like, like him or Reggie Miller, they're always going to be like, hey, if you get in shave, you can get them, you know, five, five, ten minutes on the court.
It's, it's a little bit different for, for other players.
I think, I think Clay's definitely up there.
Quinn Rhymes looks like he has the greatest skincare routine on planet Earth.
His skin looks marvelous.
He's always glistening.
He takes care of his skin.
Do you see him on TikTok, the videos?
I mean, once in a while.
I mean, his skin just looks, you know, when people have.
like real good skin and it's just like watery.
Yeah.
He has fantastic skin.
He does.
He's slugs every night.
Oh, wow.
No, can I see it?
Please.
Oh, wow.
He said, please.
Yeah.
That's good skin.
He has fantastic skin care.
Hella exfoliated every day.
Okay, I got to hit the Korean skincare store soon.
He owns her, probably.
But in the NBA money, he can open his own.
Traveling routines.
He's like a fucking cart that falls behind him before he goes.
Like a food truck
All right
Let him have a 20 point for game season
We're gonna have to revisit those sex and what conversations
He's up there
If he average is 20
You got average 20
He did some of you just now
Man
He can get in the door
I think he could see the performance
What you're really working with
He got the prerequisites
Yeah
I just need to build up my case
I'm still up here man
Oh my God
Quinn Grimes said he spoke
With JJ Redick
But returning to his defensive role
on responsibilities for his first couple years with the Nix.
He wants to be an intense, nasty point of attack defender,
referencing OKC in San Antonio's point of attack defenders as an example.
His ability to do that will be one of the single things
that decide the Lakers season the most.
Because if you can't do that,
if you remember, like with the NICs,
when he was a point of attack defender,
he was a good.
He was good.
He can do that,
and the past couple years that hasn't been his role,
I've seen a lot of breakdowns from Lakers fans
explaining the difference and what Philly asked him to do versus the Nix.
I kind of buy he can do some version of that.
We'll see.
It's always easier set than done to reverse.
to a young version of you that could defend better.
But if he can, man.
Yeah, if he, if he can, it's...
That makes a difference.
And it's definitely dangerous for the rest of the league.
If you, if, like, if the Lakers let go of Marcus Swine,
they replace him with Grimes,
and Grimes is able to fill that role and do all these things.
Be a much better shooter.
Yeah.
Like, that's, that's leveling up.
And then that would bring us to a spot where you don't think it was a mistake to let
do that.
And then you go from Atenham Rep protection to Walker,
Messler.
Hey, man.
Now, I'm actually from LeBron,
Desire Williams, so I don't know about that part,
but we can ignore that.
This also might be, in that case,
addition by subtraction.
I agree.
But, you know, it's not going to,
I'll be accused of glaze if I said that part.
If that happens, I think they have one of,
he might have one of the best starting lineups in the league.
I also like it.
Again, I think they're going to be like the four seed.
Queen Grimes, hold it down for the non-whites out there in L.A.
It's all on you.
Potentially the only one in the starting lineup.
And it is funny that he is last game.
Yeah.
They allowed one in the lineup.
But only a little bit.
Only halfway.
That's it, man.
Who's the darkest player on Yon-Saint?
A Duthier.
Do you have anybody else close?
Oh, Jerry Vanderbilt.
All right.
Kavanaugh and there's a fair amount.
Colin Sexton, too.
Yep, yep, yeah.
Colin Sexton, yeah.
They just don't get to play that much.
What I'm going to say?
Vandals I play.
Hopefully, Kvonan Loonie doesn't play.
He will, sadly.
Again, that's the one part of the team I'm really scared about.
But okay, that is all the
major headlines to talk about from
NBA Media Day.
I was having fun, man.
You can open up Twitter, you can keep going.
There's more for you to see.
You can be a fun day for you.
Yeah, it can be a...
Oh, we need to talk about John Morant being back, man.
He is on the Trailblazers.
He said, a reporter asked a good question.
Do you see yourself as a starter on the Blazers?
And he said, I think winning is the most important thing for me.
Okay.
Timoral up plus two.
You believe him?
I mean, he said what he was supposed to say, kind of.
Yeah.
Because we're after this, like, who wants him?
The South of the Kings could have had him.
They don't want him.
I find it hard to believe you can go from that level of the start
to coming off the bench at this age.
That feels hard to imagine being going over well.
I'm not saying he's in a fucking going strike or anything,
but like that doesn't see it.
If I had all the players, I would assume,
but come off the bench and be cool with it
and mold themselves into that awesome six man,
Jaws not high on my list of assumptions.
To see how fall he's,
like fallen since what
2022
this has to be like
the most
the most ultimate
humbling experience ever
to be traded out of all places
yeah
I will see how you respond
because this is the ultimate test
of his humility
this year
like this literally would change
your entire trajectory
your life bro so
yeah we'll see what happens
I'm doing I'm doing research right now
I don't think Shay has
a lot of hang time
on his on his brains
they might be real
okay yeah
yeah he might just have
the goat hair growth serum
Fair.
Last thing we're going to do today,
now that we're done with the breakdown of the media day,
we are going to pick the ceiling, floor,
and realistic outcome for every single NBA team
in the Western Conference.
You guys know what this works.
We're going to see one on screen and decide
what we as a group feel is in the carts
for that team and all three outcomes.
So Beasol, who is the first team up today?
First team.
We talked about them a lot today.
The Lakers.
Floor.
If things go poorly and they really miss LeBron,
Walker Kessler, God forbid, misses games
and it's Kavanaugh-Luny starting.
What's the worst-case scenario for this team?
Playing the team.
I don't know if they'll be a better
for you playing team.
I think if Walker Kessler gets,
has a serious injury
or if it's something where it's not,
like if he plays like 40 games,
he plays half the year, right?
I think they definitely can be a playoff team.
I mean, we can't assume that for every team.
We can't just say what are the best players get hurt.
I'm just saying,
I'm saying for him just because he has had
injury concerns in the,
in the past.
And he's coming off of a year where he did miss the whole year because of injury.
And so for them specifically, they can be down there.
I think no matter what, you will have probably the most potent and hard to defend
back court between Luca and Austin Reeves already.
And that's going to be so hard to stop.
I think maybe if Walker Kessler ends up either being missing games here or just not
necessarily living up to potential, worst case scenario still just like looking at the math
in terms of what makes a basketball team good.
Big ass elite defender,
got buckets all over the place between Luke and Austin Reeves
and a lot of filler guys in between.
Your floor, to me, is you're a six seed.
I think even...
You can be the Phoenix Suns last year.
That should be bare minimum.
Even healthy, there's a world
where they could be a playing team.
Nah, I don't think so.
Even healthy.
If all the guys...
Even healthy?
If all the guys in between are...
Are misses?
Because you are...
You're asking for Quentin Garvey.
to go back to a version of himself that he was.
You're asking for Kavanaugh need to step in as a backup role.
You're asking for Zaire Williams to come in and do certain things.
I think that there are about three to four players on this team that you are asking to not change who they are,
but provide something that hasn't necessarily been there 100% of the time.
I don't know what that part. So yeah, if all the players suck and other players are good,
they could be really bad.
I don't think anyone's believe that's actually in the cards, though.
I think floor okay
If you want to say seven seats at the floor
I think that's fine
Probably because of injuries
And lack of big man depth specifically
But I do think seven seat at the floor is
That's fair to say
Sealing
I mean they could win a chip this year
You think what?
I think it went to ship
Damn
Oh you think the range is
You think it's the Grand Canyon this bitch
Yes
The ceiling is a floor type sheet
This brother's on the truth
He sees everything bro
Everything is possible
He sees Dr. Strange
All the multivirons
Fuck it
Sealing win a chip
I guess.
No,
I don't think so.
I think they can go,
I think with Luca and Reeves,
and I'm not as scared of Reeves in the playoffs this year as I have been in years past,
but I do think that Luca always has a fantastic time playing against OKC,
and we will see how San Antonio progresses throughout the year,
especially with their guard dynamic.
But outside of those two,
everybody else in the West is very getable.
And I think that the Lakers can be there.
And if all the players do click and we do get just another, not even like massive leap,
but just step forward from Kessler, a backcourt scoring 60 and one of the better room protectors in the league,
I think can take you a very, very long way.
Okay, I guess sealing is championship.
There you go.
I don't know, man.
Sealing is finals appearance.
I think so.
Sealing is finals appearance.
Well, let's say that.
Whether or not they win or lose.
Sure. I'll let you be optimistic.
I think you can make the conference finals.
That's like the absolute ceiling from my mind because there's too many variables between the filler guys like we mentioned that have to prove something that they haven't done in a minute.
You're right when it comes to that.
But man, finals?
Realistic.
There's a team somewhere in there.
Okay.
What's realistic?
Third seed.
Three to five seats, one of the teams in the second tier?
I would say, yeah, I would say three seed is very realistic.
and second round exit.
Okay, respectable third seats,
second round exit to one of the real contenders.
That's probably realistic.
That's a good season.
That's a good year one,
actually rebuilding this team around Luca Donutson.
We've had three year ones already.
Your respectable team that someone says,
don't let them get hot,
and then you see one of the teams
that are real contenders,
and they bludgeon you.
Yeah.
Okay, next team.
Houston Rockets.
Floor?
I don't really see them being a play-in team.
I think regular season,
they're going to be way too competent
to fall that low.
with Fred and Stephen Adams back,
we know what their nucleus
that this team can do
with Kevin Durant there.
I think their floor is like the six seed.
I feel like their four is a little bit higher on it.
I think it's like the fifth seed.
It's a little bit higher.
Fifth seed.
You won like 52 games last year
without Fred and Stephen Adams.
So the floor of 50 games?
Yeah.
Me 51.
Sealing?
53.
I think they're exactly who we think they are.
I think they are a solid
low to mid 50 win team.
Go to 50 wins.
Yeah, I think honestly
Realistic
The only reason why I can see like the ceiling any higher is if a SAR or
Shangoon has like some drastic changes into the game
Sealing 51 kids
Yeah, 51 to 55 I think they are who we think they are
They're a very good playoff team that won't compete with the top two teams I don't think
But they're also not going to fall down to close to playing range
Also the stars stay healthy too
That is true
That's Kevin Durant who's old as fuck but like around him they stay very healthy
Katie had a super healthy year too.
All right, so Floor 50 wins,
ceiling 52, realistic 51.
Yes.
Precisely.
Welcome to the 4C in Houston Rockets.
They will be a good team this year.
Yep, yep, no doubt about it.
Okay, next.
Dallas Mavericks, going down to the middle tier.
Now this is like true variance right here.
Floor, welcome back to the top five picks.
Actually, no, because the new lottery odds.
Floor, you're one of those mid-teams
that get the good new lottery odds
and you're picking number four in this year's draft.
I don't even know if they have their pick outright.
I forgot swapped.
Yeah.
Floor, you're giving another team.
The Hornets is it is?
I don't remember.
It probably would be the Hornets.
Every pick goes through like three teams at this.
FACs.
The Flores, you're giving some other team
that has your pick swap a top four pick in this draft.
They could just suck again.
That's super possible.
That they're still rebuilding.
I see just suck.
I think if that happens in my mind,
the expectations I have for Hooper 5 going to next year,
dramatically disappoints.
Yeah, I actually don't.
This is floor, though.
I think...
I don't think still...
I don't think that's their floor.
Do you think there's no...
There's no chance they still suck?
No.
Okay, then what's the floor?
The 8th seat is not the floor.
It's a different term.
I'm trying to find the word, but it's not...
Respectable playing team.
I think they make the playing...
Playing regardless.
Okay, so floor is playing to you.
Yeah, I would say floor is ten seats.
That feels ambitious.
There's a lot of teams we're going to say that about.
Well, they're an ambitious team.
But the, as I'm saying, as a floor,
I don't think they're guaranteed to be in the playing.
I think I'll,
I like the odds that it happens,
but to me,
the floor is lower because things could go.
Maybe Cooper Flagg's not ready to be a top 15 player.
Maybe Kyrieu is 35 years old.
And Derek Lovie is never going to be healthy again.
And Marej Johnson's a rookie.
And Zachary Rich Scha still sucks.
Maybe all this happens.
And none of those things are like crazy.
That is a definition of what a floor is.
Yeah, like that would be the worst case in it.
That can be the 13th scene pretty easy.
Like that's in a deep conference.
There's no guarantee it's a great team.
I don't know.
Like everything that you're saying doesn't align with Cooper flag.
We're hitting on the list.
If he's the same Cooper flag that we saw for the last two months of the year, he's a fucking all-star.
You know, and that guy alongside someone else who can do a couple of German moves and shoot 40% from three.
Kyrie, we're not asking you to be like the same Kyrie at all.
He'd be our version of Fred Van Vlitt and be simply a threat and read defenses.
Yes, he can.
But this team isn't built out where they're like one Kyrie being a threat away from.
from being good.
Like, there's still more swing factors
that go their way.
This isn't a well-built roster yet.
For sure.
I think as long as Gafford is there
and lively can show signs
of being alive here and there
and what's his name?
Max Christy also, he's good too.
You can start, if Rich say sucks,
that's cool, that's fine.
That doesn't really matter
because you give up nothing for him.
They will, yeah, they will make the plan.
Yeah.
Flores playing.
Guaranteed.
There you go.
That's Jell's prediction.
Floren is playing team.
Then ceiling.
Can they get to the top six?
No, they can't be.
their ceiling is playing team?
I think they'd be seven.
I don't think we're playing the game here.
It's seven.
No,
I think that they will be a seven to ten team.
Most likely probably ten.
Like nine or ten.
But I think that if everything goes right,
they'll be like the suns from last year.
Exactly.
They can be seven easy.
What was the difference in seven and ten last year in games?
What if it's like a three game difference?
Right.
The floor,
42, the ceiling, 44.
No, it was more than that.
It was more than three games.
Well, then do you think the realistic is a ceiling?
You think they're just a seventh seed?
Realistic?
Yeah, I think they're eight seed.
The barges were operating on here, killing me.
It's a razor thin, man.
All right.
There's the eight scenes for the Dallas Mavericks.
Your destiny's written.
All right.
Next.
Memphis Grizzlies.
The 15 seed.
Is the floor?
Yeah.
Yeah.
I guess the floor of Camboozoo's looks like a rookie and isn't ready to be a creator.
And Zach Eadie, unfortunately, he's still very,
injury prone, you could once again just be a terrible
team. That's fair. And if someone like
Tides your own is not ready to take the
load of being the number one point guard
on a consistent basis, I can see that happening.
My bad. 14 C, they are not going to be
worse than the Kings. Oh, the Kings exist.
You're right. Fourteen C is the floor.
The Kings exist, you're right. That's an
important thing to really clarify there. True, true.
I don't want to disrespect the city of Memphis. LeBron James did
enough. I think we got to be, make sure.
You did in there last week. He did.
Sealing?
Eight, I think. I think they could
If Cambooz is ready to be playing like not star production because he's a rookie,
but whatever that looks like for a rookie and Edie's healthy being a really, really good 15 and 10.
Tagger Rooms here.
Tadjooms here, who I think is the most underrated guard in the league.
I think that could be the eight seed.
Said your cowardice well.
You're too leap.
Your guy.
I can see that happening.
That's your guy.
Eight.
I have a fine.
I think I said if they are the sons of this year, I can see that as a ceiling outcome.
Yeah.
Realistic?
Probably the 11 seed.
The first team out?
Yeah.
I don't think that they're going to be competing for a playoff spot for real for real.
I think they will.
But if they're the first team to miss out, I'm not shocked.
Yeah.
Yeah.
They will be extremely spunky.
Yeah, fair.
I agree.
They might lead the NBA in small.
I think when we do our predictions, I put them 10 because I wanted to exist.
But if they're 11th, I won't be shocked at all.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Okay.
Next.
Los Angeles Clippers, fresh off the investigation.
Brandon Ingram has a torn Achilles, partially.
Just partially.
The floor is 15.
The floor is, this is an uttered.
fucking disaster. Rui and Brooke Lopez can't grab any rebounds. Darrys Garland is alone,
very small, very injury prone. Granite Ingram exists somewhere in the ether. King Wagner
takes too much time to get going. He's a rookie. This could be a terrible team. But could they
be worse than the Kings though? Yes. Yes. Worst case in here. I don't think they will be. Their
coaching is too good, but like one Garland injury and they're worse than everybody. Okay.
And Garland does get hurt. That is true. Yeah, I'm saying 15 is the floor. I'm investing absolutely
zero stock. Realistic?
I don't see that being a playing team, honestly.
I really don't see the ceiling there if anything
great. Is 11 playing
so? Nope. Yeah, I think
the real estate is like 11 seed.
I think I agree. Which is
quite pessimistic for a team that has an all-star player,
but yeah, they don't have much going on, bro.
I really don't see the vision whatsoever.
I don't know who their best defender is.
I don't know who their best rebounder
is. I don't know who's going to do
a lot of big mass up for this team. Yanich, shout at him.
But he's coming off of it.
injury.
So yeah.
I think the answer to all your questions was Brooke Lopez and that's like a really
really,
oh my God.
It's a horrible answer.
See,
that's why I didn't want to say anything,
bro.
It's a terrible answer.
Realistic.
Fucking 13.
Yeah,
right in the middle.
Low key 14.
I think it's like them in the Kings.
Yeah.
You put 14 honestly.
Hey.
Damn.
How pessimistic.
What are you going to do?
Someone's got to suck.
We can't put everybody to play in.
All right.
Next.
Oklahoma City Thunder.
Floor.
You're back to,
you're back to being on page.
for a dynasty.
Oh, oh, I said, Floor.
Ceiling.
I know.
Gail.
Boy, boy, boy.
Oh, my God.
Yeah.
Sealing.
You're back on pace
of being a dynasty.
You're back on pace
to being the spurs,
winning championships
multiple years,
being back in the finals
over and over again.
That's clearly in the cards
of the ceiling.
Yep.
I agree.
So 68 games is the ceiling.
J-Dubs'Halthy as L
has a redemption year.
Champs, yeah.
And not just champs.
I think, like,
the framing of, like,
Dynasty's back in the cards
that we had that blip for one year
we're back to being
an elongated stretch
of being the top team
I think is the ceiling
okay
back to dynasty talks
Floor
what's the worst case scenario
floor is a three seed
and first round exit
and they get first round
it was just a three seed for sure
I can see them being like
three seed
maybe shade has been healthy
this entire time
never sustained anything
like worth missing 20 games
that's like the only thing
that I could see happening
I think the floor is two seed.
Who's passing them up besides the spurs?
If the Lakers have just like a, bro.
A blast year.
Bro.
Then I can see it happen.
I'm just saying in the regular seat, we've seen this team, even, even though that they've won the title two years ago and were 24-0 last year, they have injuries all the time.
Like, they really, really do battle with that.
And look like that.
I think, though, you have a lot of, they've done a lot of shuffling of their, of, of,
like the back end of their roster.
And what if what if this is the year where at the start of the year,
those debt pieces don't come, you know,
100% ready to lock in?
I can see a world where they still are very good.
And they know we're trying to play at this point in time.
Not to say that we're going to like take it easy,
but the Lakers have a very good year.
You can get to the three seed and all of a sudden you find yourself
in a dog fight in the first round.
I can see that being the floor.
I'm optimistic about the Lakers.
I think there's almost no chance
to Lakers win 60 games
And I think for the OKC Thunder
Their floor is clearly like 60 wins
Unless she gets a cataclysmic injury
Which while we, that would we factor that in?
They don't lose games like that in the regular season
Because they lost Aaron Wiggins and Isaiah Joe
And Lou Dort
Lou Dort
Whoa
Stop the presses
I'm saying man
I think there's no chance they win less than 60 games
in a regular season unless it's crazy injuries obviously
But same for everybody
They're just a regular season wins
machine
They could definitely win less than 60.
I mean, sure.
Anything's possible.
That would be crazy to me.
They win 56 games.
I mean,
okay.
One, it is a big difference.
That would be crazy to me.
But also,
and maybe they're exempt from it because they're at the top of the league,
but the whole league is different.
Like,
you're not going to have as many games against just complete,
where the other team is completely mailing it in.
True.
You will have about five,
five to six more games that are actually,
actual NBA games and I mean we see stuff happen all the time so I can see them getting to 56 so the 60 is not that's not what I'm basing them off of obviously at at this point in their championship robust every single year yeah
shay missed a lot of games last year jadip was hurt for a majority of the year age of Mitchell always hurt 64 wins last year
56 to me would be completely shocking okay so what you want to put second two seed yeah loki I don't think any team has a chance to pass them besides the thunder besides the spurs blaze on two seed
Realistic.
No, I think they could drop.
But realistic is probably 65 wins
in a conference championship appearance.
I would say one seed.
Let's see what happens with them versus Spurs.
Who knows?
Yeah.
I'm like, I mean, realistically, probably they lose to spurs again
because they've shown no reason for us to pick them for real.
We'll see.
I mean, injuries in the seven seed.
I mean, I mean, injuries in a seven game series.
So, like, obviously, I can make the case.
But for most people, I think realistically
could just be losing to the spurs again.
That's fair to say right now.
They're, I mean, I'm not going to be that person.
But, you know, most people will.
Yeah.
Man, that's serious was cinema.
Man, that picture of Wembe, crying, grabbing his hand.
Yeah, like this.
His hand is massive, bro.
He had a claw on his head.
He thought he had it at all, man.
He thought it was free eats.
That's crazy.
Everybody besides Knicks fans did.
What a crazy fucking run that was.
Nobody was picking the Knicks.
What an amazing run.
All right.
Next.
New Orleans Pelicans.
15.
Floor?
Floor.
I don't think they're better on to be 50 because this is too much talent.
Post-A-Jante comeback last year, they were more competent than that.
I don't think the floor is that low.
No, I do think they, they do remind you the Kings exist.
They can go band for ban with them.
That's a tough accusation.
Roll the ball out?
They can't.
The Kings can.
I'm not going to have this argument with you for more than 15 more seconds.
You know what you just said.
You said they can.
But they were 11 last year, and they're going to.
be better this year don't bring it no they are not why would they be worse than last year
they're not going to be better than 11 why would they be worse why are they going to be better
because Joe Dumar said they were like everybody's helping yeah
Desauntamberry is fully healthy you're coming in healthy again year two of the young guys
put it in after this here sadique bay's going to have another good year they have a new head
coach here who's gonna place a better defensive infrastructure like they're not going to be as
bad they're gonna be bad but not as bad hey man 15s are fucking I think
think that's the floor i think things can get very late early for them i'll i'll say the floor is 13
to me yeah 13's fair i think they can get pretty low and honestly the 13 to 15 isn't very different
so we just say floor is what back to number one pick talks yeah but we can just put it that way
that these teams are all going to be there yeah they're going to be in there regardless
let me see i'm trying to see i'm just trying to see what the what the difference is the difference
between it was four wins last year yeah
could be four games worse.
Which four wins is a decent amount?
The Middaka, that's nothing.
Four wins is a decent amount.
So we can't basketball.
Yeah, but these teams are tanking.
Like,
it's hard.
These people are trying to catch them
that they just can't
because the teams are tanking better.
It's hard to be the 15th seed.
Like, low key,
it's very hard to be the 15th seed.
I'm saying,
I don't think that that gap.
I think four games is very attainable,
especially when you know that the teams
at the bottom are,
the teams in 14 and 15,
the ones who did try very hard to be there
when they're trying to be a little bit
closer up, I think a lot can get caught in the shuffle.
And the pelicans can be 15.
Okay.
So Florida, let's just say, worst team in the conference.
Trash.
Trash, sure.
There you go.
Sealing.
Playing.
Is there ceiling?
Man, they have no ceiling.
Oh my God.
They have a house.
There's no roof.
There's nothing there.
I don't have to take it away.
What's the ceiling?
There's nothing.
There is none.
None.
Blake?
Blank.
Yes.
We'll see what's the realistic
No roof
I don't know
relocation
Relocation is the realistic outcome
Oh man
As you guys your team
Snatched from you by force
We put them in Seattle
That's funny
There you go
Mexico City
Yeah that's tough
Minnesota Timberwolves
Lemello Ant scary sight
What's the ceiling?
Ceiling?
Conference finals appearance
Game set
Game seven, I know, right?
Losing to Shea in the conference finals again.
Sick.
I'll say seven games conference finals appearance.
They're not taking the Thunder to Seven.
You push anybody.
You have to take steps forward.
You push this thing as much as possible.
Losing to Shea again in the conference finals.
That's their ceiling.
Specifically, Western Conference Finals lose DeShay.
Because that's Anthony Edwards,
Destiny in life, is to beat a Clyde Drexler to She's microphone.
Well, if they beat him in the second round.
Down.
Now, man.
Glaze.
We talked about a couple months ago.
That's his destiny.
It's to be the little brother in the shadow.
They never gets to beat him.
Nah, man.
That's his destiny.
He's not playing fair.
Neither was Clyde.
I was dunking real good.
Oh, man.
Clyde was dunking real good.
He was playing very fair.
Has that reached Clyde's peak shit?
No.
No?
Clyde couldn't go left.
What are you doing?
Whatever.
whatever. What's the floor? What's your scenario?
Worst case scenario? Yeah, succeed. First round exit.
Yeah, they don't have a lot of variance to him, do they?
Fifth, 60s, I'm like, well, should we, should we like,
Lemelik has heard a lot? He's up and down. He's a different type of play style.
Like, what if it does not mess super well? Is that possible?
Yeah, him is then also John and Minga, like, just be in a mouse. It's tough.
Should we assume it is that those guys just mesh together? Is there a world where it doesn't?
I think I'm very happy assuming it mesh as well.
I think it will too
But if we're examining the floor
So how many
There's 100 worlds
How many of them don't mesh
I don't know
Because I think
20?
I'm thinking like seven
I think those two specific
Whether the rest of the team
Comes together
That's a different story
I feel like we should learn by now
That it's never that easy
It seems
I think the two of them though
At least offensively
Will mesh very well
But there's no at least
Like it's a whole team thing
Like the realities of doing that
like I feel there's surely more than seven out of a hundred that doesn't work.
I think it might not be them who those two specifically who end up being a fifth or six
seed but it's a depth around those guys and the coming get committed by their ass.
They're going to be treacher's twins.
Yeah, I think they're going to be fine and keep them a foot regardless.
Is the other things in the back end that will.
I agree.
Or paint this scene.
But you got a boy who takes too much food.
Like he's he's going to be a problem, right?
He might be fine.
He might be an issue.
You have no bench depth.
Rudy is really going to be able to hold down the
What is Terry Shannon Jr. going to look like?
You know exactly.
I'm done asking that question.
You know exactly what it looked like.
Those are important questions, right?
At this point, we're going to have to be in the middle of the season
and Tarynan Jr. is going to have to watch and play.
I'm going to be like, I'm genuinely surprised.
Thank you for showing me that because I did not know that you could do this.
That's why I'm at with Taryn Shannon Jr.
Yeah.
Fair.
So.
So what's the floor?
60.
Yeah, fifth succeed, something like that.
Actually, can they be playing?
No, probably no.
Zero chance.
Zero chance.
Yeah.
There is a chance.
I mean, obviously, but right now, no.
Realistic, just second round exit again?
Yeah.
I can see that.
Continue to get belted by those thunder.
By the thunder only.
She's own them.
All right, next.
Phoenix Suns.
Ceiling.
Seventh seed last year.
How did they build on that?
What's the best case scenario?
I've had eight seed last year.
Are you eight to you last year?
They were
80 again
Yeah, AC'd still
Yep, that's your ceiling
Is you do the same thing
You hope to achieve the same high
As you found last year
You made no realistic
roster improvements at all
You decided to bring in
Miles Bridges
Yeah, no
That roster
Destruction
Stinks and also you lost
Mark Williams too
AC is like the absolute
And a lot of Suns fan
Would be happy as fuck with that too
Yeah, floor
They're gonna try really hard
So actually
But everybody tries hard now
With the lottery odds
Loki the floor is like 12
It could fall out
Yeah.
Yeah, I'll say 13.
I don't know.
I think they're too stable to be 13, but whatever.
Realistic.
Realistically speaking, they're probably like a nine.
Bottom of the plan.
Yeah, like bottom of the plane.
Actually, they might not make it.
I'll say real estate is probably 11.
Do you think no one's going to make it?
What is he?
Who's going to make it then?
What the fuck?
Say, yeah, you suck, you suck
I have a very clear
tier of who I think is going to make the playing.
The season is starting to come into focus for me
and I think I have my teams that I think are going to make it.
He just wants to get rid of the plane.
Yeah, exactly.
I've said it before, yes, but not in the situation.
They really think one of the worst teams in the play
in nine or ten, whatever it falls.
It's a one game difference.
I just know the maps are going to be in it.
That's it.
Never been more confident in anything ever.
The year two of a Kupu Flag maps.
20-year-old
Kupu-flag.
Hell, you're out to the moon.
All right, next one.
Golden State Warriors.
Can they be a top 16?
Sealing?
If Jimmy Butler was here already, maybe I could convince myself.
He's not coming about to January.
The ceiling's like seven or eight.
They disgusts me.
Me.
All right.
Sealing, seven, floor nine,
realistic eight.
We just know what they're going to be.
Same shit, bro.
Last year.
Last year before that.
Yeah, that's the floor
All right, ten is the floor is still ten
How many games of career play last year? Like 40?
Not a lot
I think floor should be might be like 12 bro
They might get the number one overall pick
Honestly
I think they're gonna get the number of all pick
Next year
Okay floor new lottery odds you get the number one
Yeah number one overall pick
Okay number one overall pick floor
Realistic
What are you giving him?
Probably 90th
Yeah we can move on
90 bye
Yeah you can be better than the maps
realistically
10 no
also yeah I think the maps are like
they're 10
that's it
they have way more depth than these guys
Saltiel Adam is on the
on the on the
math wait yeah he's on the math
low key realistic
I think he's just still 10
I think it'll be the same as last year
10 one
this team is just who they are
well actually is it help
that Jimmy brother comes back at the end
instead of being there at the beginning
come back at the end
yeah they're gonna need
they're gonna need Jimmy badly
Get the number of overall pick.
Yeah, okay.
All right, next.
Denver Nuggets.
Championship roster is deteriorating year by year.
No more Peyton Watson.
What's the ceiling?
Their ceiling is three seed at the best case scenario.
Three seed and playoff waxing.
And the days of them being the best playoff teams are far behind us.
We haven't seen Yokish go band to band with one of the best teams in the NBA in several years.
It's just been two years.
that's yeah
the last time
was three years ago
the last time he had
his fighting chance
yeah
two years
that's that's a couple
but it's been three
since he did it
so three is few
four more
four more is like several
it's very important
are several
and few synonymous
I mean yeah
relatively like they mean relatively
like they mean relatively
the same thing
but this kind of
context
yeah okay
I'm glad you clarified
three seed specifically
and playoff waxing
they're not gonna be a team
that can beat the top two guys
it's not happening
What's the floor?
Six seed and playoff waxing.
You will get destroyed by the Spurs or the Thunder.
You pick which round it is first or second.
And you're thoroughly done with them, man.
Thoroughly done with them.
I mean, if they're a six seed, are they beating the Lakers in the first round?
Maybe just to get thoroughly waxed by the Spurs.
I don't care who they beat in the first round.
They'll be in the Rockets?
Maybe, maybe not.
No.
That playoff waxing can be by anybody's hand.
But they will get destroyed in the playoffs.
I'll tell you that.
4-1.
What did you say?
4-1.
4-1?
Yeah.
Oh, if they play the top two teams, yeah.
Realistic.
I'm thinking fourth seed, fifth seed, and playoff waxing.
Okay, waxing will be in play regardless.
Yeah, somebody's getting waxed.
Somebody's going to put on a t-shirt.
And it's probably Jamal Murray in history.
So is waxing to you being a first round exit or just being waxed in the second?
In general.
You enter a playoff series, you'll lose feeling terrible.
Whatever round it is, you get fucked.
I don't know where it goes, which round, but you're getting destroyed four.
one.
Okay.
You tell me, dealer's choice,
get waxed.
Get waxed.
All right, next.
Utah Jazz.
It might be a decent range of outcomes here.
If Kessler was here,
I would have gotten cute,
maybe said succeed,
or top six seed,
wherever you want to put on.
But no Kessler,
I'm not quite as optimistic about that.
Yeah, I don't know how
the whole center rotation
is going to really work out
fully because now you don't even
have a solid backup
or consistent backup.
I'm going to say,
say your ceiling is like 8th seed i'm gonna say 8th seed because the defense is going to be
in flux to me and i don't know it's going to be hard to like management between ace bailey uh
darren peterson jaron jackson jr it's a lot going on i think it'll take them a minute to figure
it out fair range uh last year they were the 15 seed now they won't tank quite as egregiously
they're jumping up floor 13 and they know the method they're gonna be mid bro you you're
You're right. They're really good at tanking.
They do know the methods.
They know the message.
The bottom four is the teams that are in the relegation zone?
Bottom three.
Bottom three?
In each conference?
Okay.
I thought it was four teams total in the league.
I don't remember.
I got to reread the rules.
I think it's the bottom four teams in the league are in relegation zone.
So they won't be there.
So floor, 13 seed.
They want to allow themselves to be one of the two ways in the conference.
It'll be impossible to do that.
Yep.
They're definitely good enough to be a smooth 11 or 12.
Realistic?
I know.
It's the bottom three teams in the league.
Okay, so it's not four. Regardless. I think Floor's 13 seed. Realistic, smooth 12 or 11, I think. There's a lot of good teams out there. Say 11 seed. I think I'll pick the Mabs and Grizzlies to stock over them more. Actually, maybe not Grizzlies. That's doing too much. Yeah, Mazz's for sure I would. They do have two All-Stars and Keontte-George is ascending. Darren Peterson, top pick. Maybe 11 seed is fair.
You can rock me with them. They didn't get to nine. They really can. They can be better in the Mavs. They can be better than the Grizzlies. The Suns.
So I think I think realistic is too there's so many like I think at 11 in the West and all those things are getable that's fine
Do win the turn all those teams that jasks me better than low key the ceiling might be seven yeah
Like they can be better than all those teams that won't be that shocked
Okay, I wouldn't either this is a ceiling play again this isn't a prediction ceiling that's super pop those teams suck I just said
There's no way they need to settle I think okay
Okay, come on now
This motherfucker's certain about everything
But realistic 11?
I can wrong with that.
Probably.
Okay.
Yeah, if they are still a year away from contending in a playing context,
it just takes a little bit more time.
You need one more role player piece.
Mind you, I think we've said,
dude, there's 13 teams we're talking about.
We put them all on the top of 11.
That's the kind of, that's the state of it.
It's good.
It's six really good teams and like six more that are just whatever,
but they're also close to the same kind of whatever
that it looks like a good conference.
Yeah.
All those scenes are food, honestly.
We just named.
Not bad.
Thanks.
Sacramento Kings.
15.
Cross the board, man.
All three, no more words.
Yep.
You will be the 15 seed?
Yep.
So when we do our predictions in two weeks,
I better not see anybody
get cute and put him a 14.
Bro, I'm straight.
Are you feeling cute?
Don't do that.
Oh, you do that.
Really?
Let's talk on with me.
I promise.
I promise.
I promise.
I can tell you're feeling cute.
and you're going to do that.
I think they're going to trade some more.
He's saying, I promise, you can't see his hand.
Fingers across.
I know you're lying through your team.
Okay.
The Spurs.
Well, Floor, I mean, sealing is clearly win the championship.
Yep, of course.
And the Wembeian, the Wembe Air begins,
and you win a championship with a little pushback.
Sealing is we did just dominate the league
in the second year of contention,
and nobody can fuck with us.
Yeah.
What's their floor?
like two seed two seed what about in the playoffs two seed lose the thunder they can they can fall to
to the to the three seed i think that they can get that they can i think they're gonna be farming wins
bro these two teams are head and shoulders i think there's again barring injury which can say for
anybody there's to me if they're healthy ish literally no chance they fall at the top two yeah i think
there's two teams that will win 60 games and then 13 other teams have no chance at winning 60 you're
going into year three stephan castle who knows how good dylan harb is going to be in year two darren
Fox is going to be healthy again.
Wemby just keeps on getting better and better.
You got your good old vets and Harrison Barnes and Tobias Harris is there now too.
They're a better team.
They got better.
They got better, like, to me pretty clearly.
And we don't feel that much better by any of these other motherfuckers around them.
Their floors, too.
Floors too.
Two seed.
I do.
I think like those two are in stone.
They're head and shoulders better than everyone else.
Except for O'KC, obviously.
What makes a fun is, I have no clue.
I can see the three seed.
I can, I can see anybody fall into to three.
I don't think that it's going to just be
I think you can in theory
But what team do you
Are we not doing theory right now?
No, I mean it's easy to say that
But if you actually thought
Which team could actually pass them
I don't think you actually feel there's a chance
Of the Lakers pass them
I do think that there's a chance
That the Lakers can get to the two C
That one of these two teams dropping
That the Lakers have a very successful
Regular season
And get up there to one of the top seeds
I think they're
They're the only one that I feel like
over or I feel the strongest about
them and then the only other team that I feel
potentially could do that just because of
the range of variance that they have is Minnesota
but I don't I don't I wouldn't bank on it in any sense
but I think that their range of outcomes if everything just goes perfectly
I think those two teams could potentially get up there
I think those teams are way too flawed for me to get there
yeah and like there's a little way something
happened something like that could happen is if like
a meteor strike specifically
San Antonio. That is true.
There's a bioweapon attack on San Antonio.
We're talking about theory.
See, and I just don't think
that we need biow warfare for
first to fall to three.
I'm certain we do.
And that's what we did.
That's what we did for.
I don't think it's a world
ending event if they get to three.
I do think we need nuclear fallout
to happen.
So realistic,
do you think they make the finals?
The bombs drop.
Yeah,
Realistic, I think they win the finals.
No, realistic.
Do they win the finals?
Is that realistic?
Realistic, back to conference finals, roll the ball out.
We'll see who wins.
Seven game series for Western Conference finals,
realistic.
I don't know what to call it.
Yeah, I think they're belting whoever is in the finals for these.
I think they won the finals.
Realistic.
But you said last year.
The facts.
People don't learn from the mistakes.
Yes, again.
I do it again.
Meanwhile, he's in the same thing to Lakers.
Me, I won't.
I learned.
Over happening.
They're expecting too high
for the medium outcome, I'd say.
But yeah, I think realistic
is Weston Carverts finals, game seven.
We'll see who wins this time.
Yeah.
Do y'all have any confidence
in who to call right now?
Right now, no.
Honestly, feel better about the Thunder.
Me too, but it's like so little margin
than I'm like, I don't know.
Like, I'm going to pick them, I guess,
but it doesn't really mean much to me.
It's just like, I have to see
one of these two guards in AJ Mitchell
or Case on Wallace.
Maybe he's going to be AJ Mitchell.
Like take a.
serious, serious leap as a shooter.
Which age is already there, I guess, but more so is like Kaysen because he's going to eat up
a lot of those minutes.
I don't really care about anybody making a leap and thunder.
I know who they are.
To me, it's just like maybe the spurs take a big step.
Yeah.
And I don't know how to account for that.
You can't account for year three, Stefan, or year two, Harper.
I mean, the Harper reason is the only thing that I'm kind of caught up on because I do think
that he's going to be better.
And I think that he's obviously going to be an improved player, but also the
shooting does have to come around.
And, you know, like, there are a number of things to his game that the way that we're
talking about Dylan Harper and the, the heist that he's going to reach, he still does
have to prove that he can do those things for sure in year two.
So that's the only reason why I think I'm holding off on like, oh, Spurs number one seed,
they're going to walk that.
I need to see that a little bit.
It's just tough when it was a two-game gap last year.
I'm like, that's a rounding error.
Like, that could go either way so easily that I truly have no confidence either way.
Yeah.
Okay.
I think it's the last team.
Portland Trailblazers.
Man, I don't have any stock in this team.
They can be,
so they can be a playing team.
Yeah,
I think, yeah,
I think the,
the best should be their floor.
The question to me is the ceiling.
With this goofy-ass guard group here
with Jodd, Dame,
Scoot, Drew, Shade,
and like all these motherfuckers
playing the same spots,
I don't really have any faith in a ceiling
that matters.
So to me, the ceiling is what they were
last year, seven seed.
Yeah, okay, fair.
That's perfectly right.
Seventh seed, floor, playing,
realistic.
Well, floor, I think the floor,
we need a lot of teams
that could be the plan.
They could fall out.
I don't think they can.
I think they can bottom out.
I think their defense will be too good.
I think Klingin coming into
what year three as well or four.
I think we're going to see another,
not seismic leap or whatever,
but I think he should be head and toes
like one of the five best room protectors in the game.
But what if...
He's no Kessler.
What if...
What if Dame coming off this,
this Achilles is looking rough?
What is,
if Jah just isn't who like he just can't reach that level and both those things are quite likely
a potential again but Drew's playing well but he's also old like there's a lot of things that
can fall out from the guard position you're already missing shading sharp if tumani Kumar misses any time
the perimeter defense is fucked that's a lot of burden on one guy it can get bad I think
14 is kind of in the in the cards 14 deep nah that I think they're just too I'll just say the floor is
Missed a play.
Stable as a team.
I'll just phrase it that way.
Flores missed a play in.
And you're going to be competitive.
You can just miss it by a game or two,
and that's super possible.
I do have to push back on that.
Two stable of a team is actually the worst thing that you can say about this team.
Nah.
Stable meaning like they're not the Kings.
That's what stable means to me in the West.
I don't think they're that far from me, the Kings.
Like,
I don't think they are.
But like, if they have a year from hell,
I don't think that's massively shocking.
Mind you.
Coach got arrested by the feds last year.
We were talking about stability.
Last year was so crazy.
How was that like?
We'll talk about the ability
There's a lot of things on their on their team that can go wrong
Yeah
So let's just say floor missed the plan
What's realistic?
Probably the
Probably the 9th seed
I think they fall down a little bit
I think that there could be some of the teams that
That jump up ahead of it
Realistic make the plan
There we go
There's gonna be like 10 teams in the plane
I know I know bro
It's all gonna be like separated by like two or three games
Each and every fucking seed
We guys come
It really is not like
It's really not great.
Yeah.
And that's the ceiling of floor
For every team in this conference.
Yeah.
Everybody's making of play.
I know.
Everybody has the ability to.
Except for the Kings.
Which is where Adam wants.
And the correct.
Super correct.
That was desired effect.
He's loving this experiment.
Yeah.
There you go.
With that being said,
that is the end of our Media Day recap episode.
We'll see you on Thursday.
