Starting point is 00:00:00 We are going to pick the best NBA moment for every single season since 2000. Starting with 2026, pick the best moment we just saw and go back in time until we have the top moment in our hearts from all these years. Okay. So first off, the 2025, 2025, 2026 season. We got to go BAM 83, right? BAM 83. Remember at opening night when Blyle? So please stop talking.
Starting point is 00:00:24 It's the New York Knicks winning the title. Was that good? That was actually terrible. No, it's actually amazing. You know how many people got beat up in the streets of New York for no fucking reason. Texans at that. You're okay with San Antonio resident violence. Not very texting.
Starting point is 00:00:37 You're from Texas and you're not putting on. Hey, man. Wow. You should have known what you were walking into. And you're okay with that. I'm a victim blame here. That's easy. I'm going to do it.
Starting point is 00:00:48 You walked outside of Madison Square Garden with the Spurs jersey on. I'm not saying I condone it. That happens. But I understand what happened. Now, if you don't want to go to the championship as a whole, I do think them. We'll pin the Hawks by 50 by 60 at a point. It is on here.
Starting point is 00:01:03 I think that's definitely up here. You're right. We can go the whole next run. The whole Knicks run was legendary and deserves to be the best monumental moment of this. Dude, they didn't lose for a month. That's ridiculous. In the playoffs. Ridiculous.
Starting point is 00:01:12 And they weren't supposed to be that good and they just locked the fuck in. Nothing really touches it. Bam. Hey, shout to the Hawks. Sorry, Bam. Hey, you're on here for something. All publicity is good publicity. Always involved.
Starting point is 00:01:24 Championship runner-R-Ur Us. You're always a part of the story. No one can call you irrelevant. We beat the next twice this year, man. No one could say that. No one can say that. In the playoffs, yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:01:32 Fair enough. When we can't say that. All right, next 25 season. The Luke being traded was fucking craziest shit. But I ain't go lie. Yo, that finals run from the Pacers. Yeah. I feel like I've never seen anything like that in my life.
Starting point is 00:01:49 Yeah. Specifically the game. He was the Knicks. That's not. No more. That means. He blitz everything. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:01:55 Him choking sign against the Knicks. Yeah. It got all that not to win. That was. tough. We got the chip. Is it better than Luca moment though? Because that show was crazy.
Starting point is 00:02:04 That was, yeah. We woke up at like 1 a.m. Only the reason I wasn't going to say it because some people wouldn't consider it a good moment. They'd be mad because he's a Laker now. But that's my favorite moment of the year by far. The genuine shock in everyone's eyes.
Starting point is 00:02:15 Like no one, this is the last thing on everyone's mind that could happen. No one even knew he was up for trade. Fuck it. There you got. Luka don't should trade to Lakers is the best moment of the 2025 season. Yeah. It altered the trajectory of my life for the better.
Starting point is 00:02:28 I'm not the same man I was before this. It's always cool when you can see something to happen and be like, oh, we are living in history. Yeah. Like the day of people said this is the craziest trade in American sports history and it wasn't really the hyperbolic. It was so bad. Pissed so many Mazz fans also at the points of where I remember they brought coffins outside the stadium, bro. It's crazy. Yeah. The reactions, the nine month to a year long saga that we had a runway where we could just make fun of Nico Harrison in the maps, that was good.
Starting point is 00:02:57 And like every podcast ever, when they talk to NBA player, they get to. to be like, what did you think when you saw the Luca Donstraight happened? It gave ammo to creators forever. Everyone was, man. I thought it was fake. All right, next. I was asleep.
Starting point is 00:03:11 Ooh, 2024. What's the best moments? Luka Gaming Over Gobert was a good moment for sure in the playoffs. I remember that. We were in Mexico watching that. Eating wings, that was a good moment. Yep. I know mine.
Starting point is 00:03:23 That's just me though. The finals is ass. Yeah, I don't think people care. The Celtics title wasn't necessarily like an amazing moment. It was a lot. for them. Yeah, if I'm being an objective, I get it. I'm not, though.
Starting point is 00:03:32 So. I think the wolves beaten the Nuggets in game seven. Because even though the Ant didn't play well, that whole moment and that series felt really, really big. And the Nuggets were defending champs. And it was like, down goes the Giants. We expected to be in the finals. All year we talked about, the Celtics are amazing.
Starting point is 00:03:50 They can't defend Yokic. When we get to the finals, Yopich is going to get him. His ass didn't get there. Yeah. I'm not going to lie. Once the Timberwolves beat the Nuggets, That's when I thought we had it for real, for you guys. You should have.
Starting point is 00:04:02 That was fair, yeah. Because everyone was trying to big up the maps. It was a good moment. But yeah. Yeah, it was never going to happen. Oh, Bronny got traded or he got signed to the Lakers this year too. I remember that. That was cool.
Starting point is 00:04:14 Fuck the Timberwolves. Bronny draft it to the Lakers. We got double LeBron James on the Lakers. A cat was also traded to the Knicks. I don't care. We got double LeBron James on the Lakers. We're going there. All right.
Starting point is 00:04:25 I ain't going to argue it. Two Lebrons, one city. Never been seen before. Never will be seen again. True. All right. Next. 23 season.
Starting point is 00:04:32 They'll never be in the same city again? Never. Ryan is carving his own path. How many people do you think are to name their kids like LeBron in like 15, 20 years from now? At least one. You might see a lot. You might see a lot.
Starting point is 00:04:44 Yeah. I think you'll do it. I can't do it. That's a lot. LeBron's name is so unique. It's like if I name my son, LeBron, like that's crazy glaze. People would do it. You can't really play it off?
Starting point is 00:04:57 People would do it, yeah. Is that more? glazed than the heat retiring my hood or dorn his number yes nah i'm named my son rajan fuck does michael d'urr means a philippo name rizahn hell yeah he doesn't you just born in the black face where'd you get your name from you didn't give him a chance all right 23 season i mean it's got to be lebron breaking the scoring record right yeah that's cool and shit ever this season had a lot of moments it did as i was doing research there's a lot of funny moments too is this the year where Patrick Beverly had the camera and showed it
Starting point is 00:05:29 in the ref, the Lakers? What's he there? This is that moment. Everyone was like, this is the funniest season ever. That was this year, I think. Maybe. You don't think playoff Jimmy?
Starting point is 00:05:39 That was tough. That's a very important. I think playoff, playoff Jimmy going insane and him fighting with the Celtics all the time. I kind of like that. Yeah. LeBron broke the scoring record.
Starting point is 00:05:50 I think it's LeBron breaking the score record, for sure. The Draymont Pool moment also happened this year. Yeah, best one with the year. Sick. I loved it. Light the beam. This is the like the beam here too.
Starting point is 00:06:01 True. Honestly, light the beam was. It was cool. It was very cool. It was one of the better moments. Just a moment. But not the moment, though. Yeah, I think it's got to be LeBron James breaking the scoring record.
Starting point is 00:06:10 Yeah. Thanks. 22 season. It's hard to not go with something Curry related. This kind of cemented Curry's legacy, getting his finals MVP, winning without Kevin Durant again. I'm sorry, it's Curry. It's kind of hard to not go with the champs. Yeah, it's Curry.
Starting point is 00:06:27 specifically pointing at the ring finger that was cool oh in games six pointing at the ring finger the cocky shit being like oh it's over it wasn't over like yeah he did that in the like the third quarter I was gonna say more more game four that 43
Starting point is 00:06:42 where he's putting up over everybody because they were they were down to one in that in that game as well so being able to even up the series I would go game four but yeah that entire series is the best moment when you think about how popular Steph Curry is and like just how much you rose up NBA history. People were saying Curry's top five all time now
Starting point is 00:06:59 in 2022 summer after this. Like, this was truly us watching history of one of the game's greatest legends. Defined as good. I saw a narrative's fucking die that night, bro. It was crazy. The NBA literally was never the same. The way it was talked about changed forever after May, 2022. Mavs and Bears sons in Game 7 was fun.
Starting point is 00:07:15 That was good. That was fun. People calling Luca Devin Booker's dad for like two years. Even now. Still was that. True. Yeah. I just wish he did it against the heat, man. I forgot Luke had a 60 point triple double. We don't care about that.
Starting point is 00:07:30 Yeah, we don't. All right, correct it is. Next, 21 season. It's hard not to pick the champs every time, but I did. I did love watching Janus ink himself into history, and the way he did it with the lob and the block, that felt like history in a way. I can't remember that many guys being crowned that way. Fuck all that bullshit.
Starting point is 00:07:48 It's really, it's really, it's really the end of Benson's career. The Hawks run to the Eastern Conference finals. That's real. It's the James Harden's trait. The moment that K.D., Kyrie and James Harder all get on one team, that shakes the NBA to a different level. And obviously, like, they don't play all the time
Starting point is 00:08:10 and that's a different thing. But for a singular moment and the stress in everybody's voice of, like, how are we actually going to do this? I do think that's kind of peak. That's the only time we've seen since KD. went to the Warriors that we see a team put together and say, wow, is this just as good as the 2017 Warriors? it would have been wrong, but that was a thought
Starting point is 00:08:28 people had and were excited to see it happen. They're the best offense we've ever seen. Yeah. For seven games. Yeah, true. And that's it. That KD. Flip moment was, the discourse afterwards was hilarious.
Starting point is 00:08:38 Yeah. In that same game, too, didn't he have like a 30, 40 point triple double or something crazy like that? Yeah. Yeah. That's crazy. I don't know if it was a triple double or not,
Starting point is 00:08:47 but it was 49 points, I think. Yeah. I think he went out swinging. He had a triple double. Yeah. It's crazy. Zero points in OT, though. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:08:53 He did have zero points in OT. All right, next. 2020 season. The bubble. I think Dame. That's honestly like the most electrification. Dame in the bubble. Just a combination of all the bubble performances.
Starting point is 00:09:08 Yeah, the bubble crazy shooting. T.J. Warren. Dame. Anthony Davis. Jimmy Butler. Everybody who couldn't miss in the bubble. It was cinema. That was the best version of Anthony Davis has seen in my life.
Starting point is 00:09:18 Those Murray D. Mitch battles. Oh, yeah. They're giving each other like 50 and 40. The electric shooting of the bubble from all involved. T.J. The video that we were getting or the story where Dwight Howard was the only person to show up to the party that they had. Like all the small little details that were coming out. It's just a bubble in general.
Starting point is 00:09:37 That's such a that's obviously. I mean, is it a great moment? It's a moment. It's a moment. It's definitely the defining moment of the 2020 year. Russ yelling at babies through screams. Yeah, that's tough. Lemon pepper, Lou.
Starting point is 00:09:48 Lemon pepper, Lou. True. Then bubble was cinema. There's so much entertainment. The Clippers blown at 3-1 Lee. Oh, that's it right. there. That was the start of the downfall. Yeah. All right. 2019 season. Is it dame shot or kawai shot? That's a real question. Two amazing shots. I think the dame shot to me is better because that you hit
Starting point is 00:10:09 that to end the series. So do why. Kauai is in game seven. That is true. It's not to be Kauai. The legendary. The fact that led to a championship is part of it, the four bounces. Kauai is in the middle of this superhero run where we're watching the best player in the world. It's got to be Kauai. shot. Dame took a step back from 35 feet. And he was talking shit to the entire series with Russ. It did. They also beat a regular playoff team.
Starting point is 00:10:36 The Raptors beat the team that we were talking about should come out the east because Jimmy Butler came and they had the best starting five in the conference. And they didn't have a chance. That wasn't Beatt's best chance. Wasn't Dane's game winner like for 50 points too? Was it? I don't remember. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:10:51 Could be. He definitely did have a big scoring day though. I remember Joel and B. Meem of him crying after this, too. Just an hallway just being big and wild. We could also just say LeBron going to the Lakers. No.
Starting point is 00:11:05 Fuck no. He did. Dame got 50 with that bucket. That's crazy. Now, the first, in terms of just moments, the first back and forth of LeBron's first game with the Lakers, where he's going back and forth with Dame
Starting point is 00:11:19 and they're dunking the ball on both sides of the floor. That was a very, very fun back and forth. We also can't forget. The Toronto Raptors shot. happened the same time for the final season of the Game of Thrones so we watched that
Starting point is 00:11:30 and then watched a battle Winterfell. It was quite the moment. It was quite a crazy night of pop culture and sports coming together. I knew you. I don't say that.
Starting point is 00:11:36 That wasn't insane. That was an insane night to be an American. You go to be a quiet shot. Because everybody's watching Game of Thrones and everybody's watching Kauai shot. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:11:50 From Norway. No, I'm kidding. You can be from Norway too. To be a human then, fuck it. It breaks borders. I guess just because Kaua Shat was around later, we're going Kauai Shot. Okay.
Starting point is 00:12:02 Fair. Next. 2018. That J.R. Smith's shit will never kill me. It will never not kill me. LeBron's whole playoff run, but I think game one of the finals is the best moment, funniest. Because you have the performance, you have the meme, and then you just have the clashing of him versus the unstoppable warriors again.
Starting point is 00:12:24 I would do that. Like we're never going to stop talking about that was a single best game I've ever seen LeBron play and the drama of it not mattering is crazy. Single best is debatable. I get it.
Starting point is 00:12:35 Sure, sure. But like it felt like given the moment like it felt like oh my God it's ending every post fade. LeBron's never been better because he's so locked.
Starting point is 00:12:42 Is he going to do it? Yeah. Nope. To be fair, the only reason it is debatable is because he lost. So if you, oh, you're saying if you want
Starting point is 00:12:50 it would have been the best? For me, yeah, it would be a strong contender. over over 45 in Boston 40 yeah let's move on to the next one all right 2017 Russ's MVP Russ's MVP shot hell yeah that that entire season is defined by Katie going to the Warriors and then you have like you have their dominance but then you have on the other side Russ who's like oh you left me let's see what happens and everyone's coming into the season saying, oh, Russ is about to go crazy
Starting point is 00:13:24 and then he goes crazy, wins the MEP scores 50 in the last game of the season. On top of the- When you end the regular season with the buzzer-beater, that's pretty momentous. But on top of that, too, the Nuggets needed to win that game.
Starting point is 00:13:37 He eliminated him from the fucking playoffs. I'm going to Russ. Tough. I'm going to Russ's moment. That's fair, because the biggest moment is KD, and this is a video called the best moment of every season. And nobody likes the Kevin DeRat moment,
Starting point is 00:13:48 so we'll go with Russ. Yeah. Yeah, and I don't give a fuck about that moment. Oh, we give a fuck. People just hate it. They give a lot of fuck, actually. It was one of the worst moments. Shout to IT as well.
Starting point is 00:13:58 Salute. All right, next. 2016. Obviously. Well, actually, I was just to say, obviously, the dunk contest is crazy. Steph Curry's whole run
Starting point is 00:14:07 for unanimous MVP is crazy. Obviously, Kobe's last game, if you're so inclined. But it's got to be the block, right? It's got to be the block. For sure.
Starting point is 00:14:14 It's a legacy-defining moment of his entire career. These four pictures, you see why everybody romanticizes in the 2016 season. That's an insane four moments for one year. Mind you. Okay, so we have steps.
Starting point is 00:14:26 Curry's MVP is the best MVP at the last 15 years. And that's three on this list. Wow. You can have his individual shot that he had in the regular season. And we didn't even say 73 wins? Yeah. You didn't even mention that. The fifth best moment of the year is breaking the regular season win total.
Starting point is 00:14:44 That's crazy. Have y'all seen that game seven recently? I haven't watched that. It's a rock fight. Just missing. Fun. The last. like three minutes,
Starting point is 00:14:53 fun watch. I don't think I've watched it in like five years. The energy's electric. Mad, mad rewatchable. They're just running around boxing, running up,
Starting point is 00:15:01 and missing shots, for everyone's tired, it's crazy. Bro, on the rewatch, I didn't see LeBron James' block.
Starting point is 00:15:08 I was like, oh shit. You watch a movie the twist still gets you? Dude, that's what I love. I wait like seven, eight years after
Starting point is 00:15:18 I watch the movie so the twist can hit again. never watched he's had no long term memory he is Tyler Darden what dude started watching Infinity War again lately
Starting point is 00:15:29 the twists or twisting no now bro you're literally a fish man fish okay yeah we won't come back man there'll never be a moment like it facts
Starting point is 00:15:43 that speak sports and didn't we no it was 2017 we got the Brady come back back to back years we got crazy comebacks Oh yeah, it was it was it? It was a 2016. 17 was the Eagles game where they shoot out.
Starting point is 00:15:56 So yeah, in February we got Brady coming back against the Falcons and then in May or June we got LeBron doing it. Cubs won this year too. What a year of sports. Maybe 2016 is the best year. Facts.
Starting point is 00:16:09 Uzi came out too. They'll be started. Oozie came out 15. Okay. Not a day one. You weren't there for money longer to show. It was excess hell freestyle.
Starting point is 00:16:21 Anyways, 2015. Is it LeBron coming home? I think it's LeBron coming home. That's cool as shit. I just put the 2015 Hawks on there for Mo. Hell yeah. Nobody could pick him. Four all-stars.
Starting point is 00:16:37 Regular-ass moment. Actually, it's not regular moment. It's not regular. Four all-stars is crazy. You would never see that again. As we shouldn't. That was ridiculous. Five.
Starting point is 00:16:43 It's the whole star in five. What a testament? No, DeMarre wasn't an all-star. It was four. Yeah. What a testament to have. Oh, they give him the player of the week. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:16:50 The play of the week or play of the month. Play the month. The whole starting five got it. Yeah, his defense, man. I'm telling you. It's crazy. Yeah, it's 2015. It's got to be LeBron coming home.
Starting point is 00:16:58 It, what a moment? Storybook. Literally. It's a perfect situation. You got a young guy in Carrie trying to figure it out. You go ahead and trade four. You get the number one over a big. Trade that shit.
Starting point is 00:17:08 Get Kevin Love in the building. Amen. You know, he's finishing business. Oh, cool it is that we're in the era of the big three. He forms one. He forms another one by going home. Yeah. It's like,
Starting point is 00:17:17 motherfucker did it again. Yeah. Some people were like You gotta stack the deck Yeah Me I was like Ooh cool team I like it
Starting point is 00:17:25 Wiggins never played a second I know It's like that's one of the more heartbreaking things If I was an NBA player One of the last things That I want to experience Is being drafted to a team
Starting point is 00:17:35 And either the star player Who you got drafted to Who you were looking for to play with Left Or they trade your ass immediately That should must suck Was it funny part of the West immediately If it's a draft night trade
Starting point is 00:17:46 Okay you don't really care The Whiplash You forget about that team They traded him like a month after the draft, didn't they? Yeah. Did you play some movie for them? No, and he didn't play at all. Oh, yeah, probably.
Starting point is 00:17:54 No, I think they probably held them out of that because they knew they were going to do something. Yeah. I think he got traded in like August for Kevin Love, if I remember correctly. Damn. That's such a hold-up on your life. Maybe he did play some of them actually. I don't remember. I don't remember, bro.
Starting point is 00:18:07 I can remember. But I know it wasn't, I don't think it was draft night. I think it was weeks till a month after. He did the same thing to Colin Sexton, man. I'm ready to hoop her pro, man. I'm not going to say, I'm not going to do. be here. And guess what?
Starting point is 00:18:20 He just did the call it sexing again. Yeah. He said, this guy stinks. Keep away from me. All right, next. 2013, 14. Mm. The Kevin-Dren MVP was cool.
Starting point is 00:18:32 Is it the Spurs being the shit out of the Miami? Nah, that wasn't fun to see like that. LeBron was catching cramps. He had to be carried off the fucking court. Dame Tewson, Schott. I think it's Katie. This is in a crazy year of moments. I think it's Katie's MVP speech specifically.
Starting point is 00:18:48 Yes. Okay. Is the best moment. Fair. Yeah. I'm talking to his mom. That can get it. Is that the last time Katie
Starting point is 00:18:54 was likable to people, to the masses? Yes. One of the last times for sure. That's an awful weird when kids that are born like last year grow up and they hear about Kevin Rand,
Starting point is 00:19:01 they hear about everybody hates them. They call them a snake. They call them insecure, whatever. And they go back and see this footage. It's like, wow, I love this guy. I wonder why they grew up to hate him. Just wait two more years. Yeah, just wait on it.
Starting point is 00:19:13 It's coming. All right. Next, 2013. Okay, so the streak. So, wow, 2013 is a really good year too. It's the Ray Allen shot. It's the Ray Allen shot for sure. The people were leaving the stadium.
Starting point is 00:19:28 Spurs fans were bringing up the tape ready to win the finals and they just didn't. That's crazy. I ain't go ahead. The birth of Lob City, too. Not even the birth of a lot. Just that dunk. Just that dunk.
Starting point is 00:19:39 That's up there. That's up there. But the Ray Allen shot is like fucking modern myth being built in front of your eyes. And the heartbreak of the other team, beautiful. Can you mad like backtracking and having enough space with awareness to be in front of the three point line.
Starting point is 00:19:52 So you get your three points, but also not step out of bounds too while being somewhat off balance because you're going full speed. That's just crazy. Fans were leaving the arena, ready to hit South Beach. They had to try to scramble back in like ants, trying to get back in the arena and they got told no. That's something I will never understand as a fan. I would never leave the game unless you're getting blown by like 40.
Starting point is 00:20:09 Especially the finals game? Yeah, you're dumb. With all the money that you pay for that ticket? Only only heat families would do that. They're Miami residents. Spoiled. They got other shit to do. They are spoiled.
Starting point is 00:20:20 It's a very young franchise. They got all these chips. Yeah. Next. 2012. Oh, you know exactly what it is. Yeah. It's about damn time.
Starting point is 00:20:33 Is that better? Is that singular moment better than 45 in Boston? Yeah, I think that I... I think 45 moment in Boston's just like, that's a mythical creature right there. It is. But also, you can't underestimate just how special is to see the Bron finally hold that trophy. After all the angsts. of getting there after years of he can't get it done
Starting point is 00:20:51 and then 2011 happens and that gets magnified and to come back from that horror of a season just seeing him hold a trophy like the euphoria that must have swept through the nation of LeBron fans but that hard to replicate that LeBron game though is it better than Linsanity yes come on please shout out Linsanity
Starting point is 00:21:08 the two week run of Linsanity and just the peak of that was cool was that during the 27 win streak no the 27 win streak was after oh okay okay okay but he's he's going he's hitting game winners he's going bucket for for bucket with coby like oh you got me fuck lebron linsanity gets it oh man this is the this is the turning point of lebron's career that game
Starting point is 00:21:29 he said i refuse to lose we'll go insanity yeah jeremy leon refuse to lose too all right got paid true hell yeah let's go next 2011 de rose MVP i'm not thinking twice about that shit either uh uh huh for a moment's So for best moment, I agree. I think defining moment is the decision. But that one was so polarizing that. I don't think you can say it's the best. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:21:59 It's the same thing with the finals and the choke. Yeah. Okay, that's fair. Yeah. Having the youngest MVP, somebody who hoops the way that he does. Yeah, it's the youngest MVP. That's the sentence is crazy. Like, that's the moment that most people will look fondly on.
Starting point is 00:22:15 Not me. I'll go with the decision. but I get it. Yeah, it was very... Yeah. And they hate it, you love it. But most people would pick the Derrick's MVP. Okay, next.
Starting point is 00:22:25 2010. I don't know why the LeBron picture. Yeah, I was like that. I was like, oh. LeBron? What? It's one the previous one. It's Lakers Celtics game seven.
Starting point is 00:22:38 I think it should be that. The game of all time. What? One of the best games of all time. Yeah. Storage franchises of all time. It's quite picturesque. The game itself sucked,
Starting point is 00:22:47 but it sucked in like a fun way because it's a rock fight and nobody can make anything. And Kobe wasn't shooting well that game. And so there's still this tension of like, is he ever going to turn it on? They're going, they're going back to back. You have the Celtics trying to get, you know, trying to win twice over them. That's the, that's the best moment. Did you shed a tear that night as a young Kobe fan?
Starting point is 00:23:06 Of course I did. You shed a multiple? Of course. Were you bawling? Yes. Were you heaving? I was on the floor. Did you almost throw up?
Starting point is 00:23:14 Throw up. No. Okay. That's the line it is. Okay. Heaving, rolling around, but no vomit came up. Okay, fair enough Dude, I had hope till the last second
Starting point is 00:23:22 I don't know if you'll remember that late Rondo 3. Yeah. I was like, oh my God, we're still in it. Were you watching this while you're in the Philippines or you were like here? I was already here. But I still didn't have like a good grasp of the moment for a for real for real. But it was cool. Looking back. Hey, my happiness was, you was crying? I wasn't crying.
Starting point is 00:23:44 Yeah. Okay. But I feel like if I was the fan that I was now, I probably would have. fro for it. But it was just like my first year's eye to, you know, still had a lot to love. As a LeBron fan, I've experienced too much loss at the highest level growing up, so I can't cry over a loss anymore. Like shit made you a man, I feel you.
Starting point is 00:24:01 2011? Take it to the chin. Yeah. And it happened like four more times. Yeah. Fuck. Up the next year, right. The first dude with the Warriors ones, it hurt. 2015? Oh my God. Cairo busted his kneecap.
Starting point is 00:24:15 I knew it was over. It was how crazy it is? I hit his knee real hard on the floor. Yeah. What the hell? That doesn't happen. I've never seen that again. Yeah, man. I'll jump up for joy at the stuff that.
Starting point is 00:24:25 Hell yeah, I take his other knee. 2009. Let's see. LeBron's first MVP. Those Celtics Bulls series. Kobe gets his first one without Shaq. It's got to be that, right? It's got to be Kobe getting back to the mountaintop without Shaq.
Starting point is 00:24:40 Like, there's really not another competition for this year. Yeah, that's the ultimate fuck you moment for sure. Yeah, like that honestly, that defined him as the top 10 player of all time that people know him as now. before that I don't think if he had never got no nine and ten which to get ten you had to get nine I don't think people would be having the convos of like that's my third best player of all time yeah yeah especially because that's their because they came back from losing to the Celtics the year prior
Starting point is 00:25:04 so the fact that you can come back make it to the finals again get get the chip and you know get that narrative off and it cemented this new era of Celtics versus Lakers rivalry kind of getting back to that 80s feeling getting two in a row against them yeah well no no mind this is the one against magic 10 was the one against Lakers Like, yeah.
Starting point is 00:25:21 Cornine Lee out of smoking lips. To see LeBron get his first MVP. That's pretty cool. It meant something. Yeah. 09 LeBron was different. That game, that game winner.
Starting point is 00:25:33 Oh my God, yeah. It's one of my favorite game winners. The one against Pissons? No, those against the magic. Which one? The first one.
Starting point is 00:25:39 That one. The first one. What's the third picture? I can't see that very well. That's Bulls Celtics. And what was that game winner? Nah. It's just the whole series.
Starting point is 00:25:48 Yeah. I can barely see what that picture is. Is that the Ray-Out The pictures from the 80s? No, that's Paul Pierce shooting But yeah, Ray-Reyin had some moments Oh, Paul-Pier. I thought a bullet shooting
Starting point is 00:25:57 The picture's so small from the far away. That's Paul-Pier. I was like, what am I looking at? Cool. Our next, 2008. Houston wins 22 straight games. Kobe's first on VP. Celtics win.
Starting point is 00:26:10 17. Do you want us to make the Celtics win the O-HMptich? Hell no. I just know what I'm picking. I can do whatever. Do you want us to give it to you? You can do it.
Starting point is 00:26:20 whatever you want, man. Do you want it? Yeah, I do. I don't know. Should we give it to him? Houston winning 22 straight was pretty, pretty exciting. I was tapped in.
Starting point is 00:26:30 You're tapping? No way. See, he was jumping back then? They actually was. I bet it was. 22's crazy. 22 straight? They thought that like, you know,
Starting point is 00:26:41 oh, this is the year. Like, we're actually gonna get back. We're gonna get back. Yeah, all this stuff. I think we have to give it to him. Okay. Let's go. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:26:49 Kobe's first MVP and really and that one being the only one when you're coming off of these years where you're playing with Smush Parker, Kwame Brown, all these other. Like cathartic. Yeah. I'll be dealing with that anymore. Hey man. Like I said. I'm going Kobe. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:27:04 Go what y'all want. I know my favorite. I'll give you the Celtics, man. I gave it to you. Best moment? I'll give it to him. First big three. KG finally getting a ring.
Starting point is 00:27:14 If I was watching back then as a big fan, I would have been very happy for Kiji. Yeah. KG's scream of. anything as possible makes it makes it yeah exactly i love how cage is the only reason like non-seltics fans remotely rob it to south i don't give him a damn paul pierce facts he's like the link to mainstream that being i don't give a single fuck about paul pierce's legacy yeah cage is most likable out of them all yeah all right next 2007 lebron scores cleven's final 25 points coby scored 62 and three quarter
Starting point is 00:27:49 We believe? We believe Warriors. Is we believe better than Brons going 25? I wasn't there for that The We Believe moment to know, but I imagine there's got to be we believe. I imagine back then seeing an 8-1 upset doesn't happen a whole lot.
Starting point is 00:28:04 Oh, Kobe's a different year, my bed, though. Kobe's here? Yeah. Different year, different year, different year. Oh, okay. You don't get a whole lot of 8-1 upsets, especially not ones that get a tagline to it, a slogan attached.
Starting point is 00:28:14 Yeah. This one, but, so it happens against the Mavericks, and especially given where the Mavits, where the NBA was at, it gives a lot of people ammo. To slander this European star, they don't respect to be soft. People must have loved that. I imagine, remember when, like,
Starting point is 00:28:29 Janus was the one game bouncing the first round and everyone was slandering the shit out of him and beat a bunch of times? This is the OG of that and the other team is likable. I think I'll go we believe, yeah. It has to be, like, that's clearly number one. Because, like, the finals was a nothing burger. Nobody, like, I don't know anybody was
Starting point is 00:28:45 jumping for joy that LeBron got smacked with no help around him. Like, nobody really cared. Yeah, let's go we believe. I doesn't move no one. Okay. 2006. Kobe 81, 06, Wade. Ooh.
Starting point is 00:28:57 I think it's Kobe 81. Are you sure? I think so, because I think Kobe 81 has more mythology around it. Even, even De Wade now, I feel like you used to have to go back and keep reminding people, Wade did this in 06. Fair. This is something that happens. Kobe 81 was treated as the scoring record.
Starting point is 00:29:16 Yeah, it is. Even though that it's not. This is waiting year three, right? Yeah. Yeah. Leading a team to a championship. It's the craziest, it's one of the craziest accomplishments, but nobody really thinks of it in that way. Yeah, it's definitely like the most impressive accomplishment and the most impressive thing to happen that year, for sure.
Starting point is 00:29:33 Being down 02 in the finals, winning four straight. I'm going that. Shout out of Kobe 81. I think winning, being a superstar averaging 30 points per game to win a finals in year three is berserk. Like that, that is insane. That is a beautiful moment. It is crazy. And for Shaq to get a ring post-Co.
Starting point is 00:29:48 I don't need him. He was second MVP that year, right? He's still amazing. Yeah, I'm still going to cope. 06 miles. He runs crazy. No, I fucks to Steve Nash. And again, the Mavs lose, so twice in a row he's laugh at the Mavs?
Starting point is 00:30:03 Yeah, you'd have been having a field day laughing at the Mavs if you were 16 years happened. You would have hated the Mavs. You would have been like, Dirk sucks shit. Sick of this guy. Fraud. Next. 2005.
Starting point is 00:30:16 Spurs, Pistons, go to seven. this is the Kobe Mouse and the ballast Two I don't know if that's the best moment To me As somebody who wasn't
Starting point is 00:30:25 Around back then Looking back Best moment Yeah I'll take it I'll take that 100% Mows in the ballads
Starting point is 00:30:30 I wish I was there I don't Make it punch No no Like just living in the moment Okay You might have to A soda
Starting point is 00:30:40 You might have gotten overzealous Oh hell no You throw beers No I've seen you throw beer too you like you're a sex man man it's in your blood what do you mean yeah that's what I've seen you curse at a player before you do ridiculous things I don't put this on me man yeah we can't take you nowhere
Starting point is 00:30:59 I mean it's not but it is malice in the palace just because I want it to be I forgot we'll never see that again I think it's mouth and a palace like it will never happen again I like it's a terrible moment obviously yeah I guess we're terrible yeah but you know that our next 2004 La debut We gotta go La debut
Starting point is 00:31:24 We do Deficious point four shot Was here too KGMVP I imagine back then People really Actually I was gonna say Did people love watching the Pistons
Starting point is 00:31:35 Beat the Lakers I doubt it I think people much You think so I think so I think back then That was the age of like monoculture I bet the Lakers more loved
Starting point is 00:31:42 No but you had They had already three peted Anytime that you three peat Do you think the masses are rooting against them now? Yeah. At that point, it happens. I don't know. People really loved successful teams up until like 2010.
Starting point is 00:31:55 Especially before the internet was really like as big as it was. Monoculture and rooting for the defined team of an era was a big deal. I still think the Pistons is up there. Winning with no superstar score, just pure defense and willpower. Yeah. And you have this era because you can also look at the Lakers and be like, oh, you guys are, even though it's not the case because. Jay Payton and Malone were past their primes.
Starting point is 00:32:19 It's like, oh, you guys have the super team just stacking the deck and doing all this stuff. I think I would go to Detroit. Fair. Okay. 2003, Tim Duncan's near quaddub, just a whole three draft in general. Jordan's final game and Kobe's nine game 40 points streak. And move out the way, Mike. Move out the way.
Starting point is 00:32:38 New guys here. It's a new day. Get over it. Woo! Yeah, that's 03 draft. O2 draft is ridiculous. It's not even close. Having that many legends in one draft.
Starting point is 00:32:49 Crazy. Was that four defining superstars? Also the fits that were at the O'3 draft? iconic as hell. We still waiting for the O'3 draft. We're even sitting around. Who's compared to the O'3 draft? Best draft since O'3?
Starting point is 00:32:59 None sniffed. Yeah, so far. They don't do a whole lot of those. Yeah. Okay. Next, 2002. Robert O'Reilly's game four buzzer-beater. Lakers King's game seven.
Starting point is 00:33:09 It's the Lakers'Reepen. Lakers' game seven. That's so controversial. Yeah. Not a good moment to a lot of people. Yeah, I'm not going to say that's a good moment. But I think in general, with the Lakers three pinning.
Starting point is 00:33:18 You got to give it. For sure. A three Pete is crazy. You got to give it to that. Yeah, that's their era, for sure. Yeah, a crowning achievement of, like, just literally NBA history. A crowning them is like one of the best teams of all time. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:33:28 Maybe the second best team of all time. If you go to era by error to some people. Yeah. For sure. For sure. For those. 2001. Alan Naverson step over.
Starting point is 00:33:38 AI. AI. AI. In any context. Let's go specifically him winning one game in the finals. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, because that gets treated like...
Starting point is 00:33:47 Like another ring. Like a ring for sure. It's the final's MVP to me. And the fact that it was game one, like if it was game three, it would have been just like, oh, okay, it's whatever. To start the series that way.
Starting point is 00:33:57 Set the tone. It gets looked at as a different way. Do we care that they didn't win another game? No. Because I got one. Actually, is it step over from game one? Yeah. Yeah, so there you go.
Starting point is 00:34:06 And he dropped 50. Imagine that happened today. Oh, my God. Like, I can't even, how do we even quantify it? There's no super team like the Lakers today. It would have. If Lebronon,
Starting point is 00:34:15 if Lebron, If LeBron won game one. That'd be it. Yeah, against in 2018? Yeah. Yeah, I guess so. Or like... But also, LeBron's LeBron.
Starting point is 00:34:22 Alan Arverson is, like, amazing, but he's still, he's a little guy. He's not quite LeBron. If the Blazers made the finals in 19, and they won game one, that would have been it. And they went crazy? Yeah. Yeah. Wow. Or like, Harry going crazy in the finals, one of them, too.
Starting point is 00:34:40 Yeah. All right. Last year, 2000. Kobe takes over a game four of the first. finals, Shaq MVP season. I think it's the dunk contest. It might be the only all-sargue moment for it. I do think
Starting point is 00:34:53 it's the dunk contest. I think that Vince Carter and the show. Is that the, it's over? Yeah. And the showing that he had there is still regarded as the best dunk contest, like singular dunk contest performance. And it's set a standard that basically
Starting point is 00:35:09 at this point, everyone's like, hey, just cancel the dunk contest. Because you can't go back and replicate the the aura from that moment. The human body is only capable of so much. And Vince hit like 99% of that in 2000. It's a dunk contest. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:35:22 I agree. Kenny got to let that, um, it's over, give me. You gotta let that go, man. He's never going to. He's over. He does it every year.
Starting point is 00:35:30 Yeah. And it's never over. He said, it's over. They give him like a 45. You're just bad at calling it. It's actually mad close. It couldn't be less over, actually. It's actually.
Starting point is 00:35:44 just beginning.
