Warning, if you are a Los Angeles resident and happen to be one of the sorry souls in this universe
that root for the Los Angeles Clippers, turn away.
This is not going to be the video for you.
It's weird about to spend, I don't know, 30 minutes, maybe 45 for got some stamina in us.
Laughing at the expense of the funniest fan base in the world,
the Los Angeles Clippers have just entered the seventh circle of hell.
Steve Balmer has officially received the Adam Silver Hammer.
Five person on picks removed from the Los Angeles Clippers.
Clippers as well as $30 million from Steve Bomber's pockets.
One year of team activities from him.
Six months of team activities from their GM and a year of team activities from their
head of business operations because they were found culpable for giving Quay Leonard
money under the table, slipping him a couple crisp $100 bills to come join the Clippers.
Yeah, I don't even know if running away or turning around for Clippers fans is enough.
Cut off the Wi-Fi.
Go to some random country where there's not internet.
Like, go to my home country, bro.
stay there for a couple months because
actually I don't even know if a couple months is enough
because that's five first round picks
five years no young
talent entering those doors
yeah there's no running away from this they've been
damned to mediocrity for at least a decade
unless they are the best drafting team we've ever seen
that find stars and second round picks and free agency
finds the next jail in brunson the clippers
just found themselves staring down the barrel
of being a complete embarrassment
for the rest of 2020s
probably for most of 2030s
there's very little pathways to get out of this
and this is the new reality
unless the appeal they're going to submit
in the coming weeks is successful
and Adam Silver changes his fucking mind
because arbitration convinces him or whatever
that's probably not going to happen
and they're now staring down the barrel
of Brandon Ingram hoops
he said we were going to lose some fans
he lost like five
those fans don't exist man
and they're all in Pablo Torreys mentions right now
screaming Adam Tongom he's still an idiot or whatever
I will say there's
there's a moment in every single
and honestly maybe not every single
because some teams are run fairly well.
But for a lot of the basement dwellers
that comes a time, we have to look yourself in the face
and look yourself in the mirror and say,
do I want to keep doing this to myself?
And I do think if you're a Clippers fan
and today you get this ruling,
you see your team go to jail,
you don't have to hold them down.
You don't have to respond to their letters.
You don't have to go to visitation.
Pick a new team.
Or it is a sport.
It is time.
to switch up a new sport the dodgers a very good team to root for the rams are up more than anybody's
ever been up true the dodgers if they pick the dodgers right now it's the same thing their
owners selling that everything oh yeah right so everybody in l a slaming right now pick the rams
they're up how the chargers for a single year they might be a little bit can't do that that's the same
cycle yeah but they're already used to it they can go they can deal with misery just no but again
now is your time to get out now is your time you've seen people treat you poorly and you
have to decide, do I deserve better than this?
You have to, you have to decide, is my self-esteem and my idea of self-worth higher than this?
And if it's not, then, okay, pick the charges, do all that.
But, like, if you do think somewhat highly of yourself, now's the time to go and find another team.
Yep.
So, like we said, we're here for an emergency episode to react to the Quiet Lantern News.
Let's read this report verbatim because there is much to digest here in this report.
But initial thing from Shams is breaking.
The NBA has ruled on the Clippers.
NBA has ruled on the clippers in force
This is not even me
What the hell they shot was right
The NBA has ruled on the closet
Clippers in for salary cap circuit
investigations
You can see him smiling
On Kawai Leonard after a year long probe
Stripping the franchise of five first round picks
issuing a $30 million fine to owner Steve Bomber
And suspensions for bomber
Lawrence Frank and Gillian Zucker
Gillian Zucker is their head of business operations
Kauai Leonard will have to pay $700,000
in restitution for improper benefits
by the Clippers for his uncle and former business rep Dennis Robertson.
No contract void or suspension for Leonard.
And Robertson, who was fired by Leonard in June, is being banned by the NBA for all business doings.
Yo, what the fuck he's supposed to do now?
Mind you, he's just Kauai's uncle.
I don't think Keaton Wogler was going to go hire him or something.
Like, they're banning him.
Nobody was rushing to hire Uncle Dennis for anything in the NBA anyways.
I don't like how his alias has become Uncle Dennis.
He's just Kawhi's uncle.
And his name is deadness.
It's not a nickname.
What are we doing?
He's not worthy of that.
So what are y'all's first reaction when you see this on a real level?
Outside of laughing at Clippers fans who are down bed, obviously.
And there'll be a time for sympathy, but for now we're still giggling at you.
Outside of the fans, what do you all think about when you see this tweet come across your phone
about three hours ago?
Honestly, surprised.
Because I think the investigation took so long that part of me was like,
the NBA is just going to come out and, you know, give them a slap on the wrist.
And maybe one first round pick.
but I certainly didn't think five was on the table.
Yeah.
And then you paired this with the,
with the story that ESPN released a couple,
a couple weeks ago and that the NBA was going back and forth
and, you know, refuting and stuff like that.
And all those two things in combination were really interesting
because I thought that the NBA was kind of just like,
yo, don't, don't blow up the, up the spot.
Like, we, I thought that they weren't going to do anything.
That's why they got mad at ESPN for that story releasing.
But this is honestly one of the harsher punishments that we've seen Adam Silver dole out in his entire tenure.
You know, obviously the circumstances are very, very high.
But I'm surprised he had this much, you know, really just gall to do this.
I think that's an understatement.
Even so you're right, it's still an understatement.
This is one of the harshest punishments in American sports.
Like this is the full max you've ever seen in NBA history for a punishment by Frischamp.
the precedent set by the Joe Smith thing
to the Timberwolves in 2000s.
We did that exact same amount.
$30 million isn't a lot for Steve Bomber
because he's one of the richest people in America.
I've never seen a fine that big from an NBA team.
That's a large sum of money.
Now again, doesn't fucking matter for Steve Bomber for real.
But this is the most money and picks.
So a team and personal punishment
I've ever seen in American sports.
Yeah.
The first thing that came to my mind is like,
yo, fuck, you fans are fucking in hell right now
because there's no worst thing
that can happen to,
period like in any NBA fan base for a team that is as
pick like desolate as the clippers have been for the last few years because of the whole
okayc shit for this to happen to like for the next legitimately for the next like 15 years
you're probably not going to be very like relevant at all to any like realistic degree of
contending for a championship unless you really find a whole lot of diamonds and rust and shit
like and the likelihood of that is like non-existent because you don't do that shit any
anyways regardless so feel so social.
sorry for them on that front for the whole kawai leonard thing like he's unbelievably up you only got charged
seven hundred thousand dollars and these guys paid you damn there 30 million dollars in the back in oh my
god investment of the fucking decade bro what the fuck you're up what are the returns yeah and you're
already going to Toronto so you're not going to be here to deal with the downfall assuming that so goes
through and if it doesn't go through either way you're getting traded so it's not your problem
whatsoever yeah i saw like people have an issue with that we can start there do you guys
feel like Kauai should have gotten either find more money or like some people thought could
happen. Contract void is, has spent it for a whole year, whatever. I am personally the belief that
I don't care that much about what happens to Kauai. The big deal to me is that the Clippers get
the Adams Overhammer and that we make sure that every NBA team knows that they cannot
secure a free agent in a draft, in a free agency class like Kauai of his caliber by giving money
off the table. It seems kind of directly connected that they got the Clippers, the Clippers got
Kauai over the Raptors or Lakers in 2020
because they gave him extra money off the side that he
asked for. It's important to me that
teams know they can't do shit like that.
Not particularly important to me that Kauai Leonard
personally is punished. Do you all disagree?
A little bit just because
I do think that if you're going to go
if you're going to go as hard
as you did as Adam Silver did here,
very clearly he's trying to send a message like this is unacceptable.
I do think that you have to go across the board with everybody.
Yeah. And so whether
it be the Clippers or being the ones to
provide that situation or kawai for asking that in the first place i think i think you should
have some form of punishment for for kawai i don't it doesn't have to be like half the season
a whole season it doesn't have to be that but whatever it is five 10 games something has to i think
be on the books saying you can't even you shouldn't even feel that you have the power to ask a team
to set you up like this if this is how hard that you are trying to send the message on top of that
too. I do feel like Kauai deserves a little bit more of a punishment because, okay, Uncle
Dennis gets suspended for fucking five years. Why? Because we know he's a serial offender.
A couple of years ago with the Lakers and also with the Raptors. His ass was asking for like
jets. He was asking for a mansion. And I think I saw some report that alleged that he asked
for like stake in the team or ownership and it's some fuck shit, you know. And that's also tied to
Kawhi Lander. Maybe he didn't necessarily ask for those things. But he's like your man's literally
at that point.
That's your man's asking for that stuff.
That's him.
And you're only getting charged $700K?
No, like, I'm not saying like forfeit his money or anything like that, but maybe suspend
him for half the season or something like that because they're hand in hand to me.
Yeah, crime was committed and he was a part of it.
I think him just getting fined $700K is kind of, it's kind of easy.
He got off easy.
It's also, it's super interesting because I think, like, do you think that the Clippers would
have, if they knew that the punishment was going to be like this, do you think they would have
traded Kauai?
Then?
Or?
You're talking about right now?
Like prior, because Kauai's not here.
So like, if you're the clippers today, you have no first round picks.
You're trying to figure out any way that you can, you know, maintain some type of relevancy.
And you would see any type of assets that you can accumulate by trading away a Kauai or Garland.
Do you think that that you would have made the Kauai trade when you did or do you think
that Kauai still would have been here?
if they thought that this punishment was on the table.
So would I have held on to him to try to be competitive and just be decent?
To trade him after.
To get what more first-on picks instead of?
Or not even first-on picks.
I think, yes, if I would have, if I'm in the Clippers that I would have known,
I would have traded for some win-now type players similar to Garland.
Oh, not even win now, but just like.
Because they got first-on picks.
I'm wondering what you'd see is the difference in doing it then and now.
They got two first-time picks for him in the Raptors trade.
yeah I'm I don't know I think I think there is something to be said that maybe they keep him
and try to be competitive because they're in hell anyways and do the win now stuff that maybe that would
change their outlook because it feels weird doesn't it not feel weird that like the kawai's not
there right now that he's just gone well he's there the trade hasn't gone through yet he's still
there so like I think that is all part of it to your point yeah I see what you're saying
that there's a lot of strangeness right now by the fact that he was traded in the midst of this
and clearly the clippers thought there weren't can be found any wrongdoing they issued a statement
after that was very arrogant that they were saying that the NBA, the things they told them behind
the scenes are not congruent with what just came out in this report and they feel blindsided.
They feel like it's a witch hunt.
All this extremely confident verbiage to say, we still believe we're innocent and we're
going to appeal this.
Whereas Kauai put out a statement and he basically said, my bad, I took ownership, I shouldn't
have done that.
I should have known better.
I shouldn't have allowed this to happen in my name and I fully take blame.
Very different tones here.
So that to me signals that Kauai has a brain and understands that he did that shit and I
shouldn't have done that shit and I'm caught and is what it is. And the clippers are operating
from extreme arrogance where they truly believed this wouldn't happen. So I think you are right
that they probably would have done something slightly different if they knew that was going to happen,
whether it be holding on to Kauai and trying to have the next four years with him be as good as you
can get because you're not going to be able to get young players or trading him for more for
Sean picks, higher volume. I don't know. But it definitely is strange in their circumstances to have
traded him in the middle. Yeah. Honestly, if Kauai would have still been here, I think the punishment
would be a little bit harsher just because he's fully there you know i think you're right he got off because
of that yeah and if he was here like your contract is what you're making no money and you're probably
banned from the NBA too bro for at least three years there you go that's your career i don't
i don't know about three but there would be some kind of suspension i think because the raptor's
element of this of them being thrown into this is i also believe probably why kauai got no
suspension because if you're the raptors you don't like i don't deserve to get fucked over and
have us have to undo this trade and look at brandon ingram and be like sorry you're still here
Like there's so many moving pieces there that like it would be extremely
Unfair to the raptors that the clippers do you think so I I he disagree just because if you know that if you know that that this player is in in the middle of an investigation
You still decide to pull the trigger on the on the trade if the suspension comes out after you traded for him that is kind of on you I guess I wouldn't feel bad for the I guess there's some element to that sure but also I think like I mean when we were talking about it we were talking the whole time they're like yeah Clippers so
Overhammer.
Kawhi, you asked, they gave it to you, is what it is.
Like, I'm way more inclined to think the carceral element here goes towards
a team.
If I'm the Raptors, I'm assuming that Kauai is just Kauai, and you paid him.
He didn't do anything.
He's not the one that signed the check.
So why shouldn't I trade for him?
Especially, I imagine there was communication involved too, and the Clippers probably misled
them a little bit, thinking they were probably saying, we've been talking to the NBA
and they haven't necessarily told us they found anything yet.
Like, I imagine the guys, we talked a little bit by Lawrence Frank.
It's straight fantasy football.
It's like, listen.
This deal is better for you.
than it is for me.
I'm taking a receipt.
It's my favorite line.
Let's help each other.
So, yeah, so obviously, Kauai guys off scoffrey.
Many people think he should have gotten more, whatever to me, right, whatever.
Steve Palmer, $30 million.
I'm sure the biggest fine the NBA's ever given out.
I don't know.
30 mil is insane.
It's insane, right?
Has to be the biggest.
Obviously, it doesn't matter for him being the richest people in the world, but still shows
that they're taking as hard a line.
as they can.
I've seen people complain
like that's nothing to him.
It doesn't matter.
What do you?
A billion dollars.
Give me a billion.
Sir,
he can make that shit back
in half a year,
but it doesn't matter for someone like it.
And he also just won't do it.
It's a billion dollars.
He didn't tell him to fuck off.
He's going to treat it like a hospital bill.
He ain't never getting paid, brother.
Adam's never cannot ask him for a amount of money that matters to him.
Otherwise,
he looks fucking ridiculous.
Let's get ridiculous, though.
The worst thing he can do is say no.
Honestly.
Why doesn't he ask for $48 billion right now?
So that's that, right?
One year ban for Steve Bomber.
My favorite element of this whole thing, looking back, is, well, for one, to make a different point first.
ESPN, fucking embarrassed.
Oh, my God, bro.
This organization is in the trenches right now.
ESPN has been embarrassing for years now.
For everything we know about how they haven't prioritized substance and reporting and how all the
reporting now is just like they're a hub for communication from agents to get a message out.
They don't actually report jack shit. It's here, tweet this. Okay. That's the bulk of ESPN reporting
these days. Not only do you do that for this, the biggest story of the NBA year. One of the
biggest scandals in the NBA's history, really, you provide zero substance and are just an
input of information to be spread. Not only are you that a neutral being. You also allow
Steve Bomber to try to spin his PR through you. The day after
breaks, you have Steve Bummer on TV a year ago saying, they con me. I don't know. I'm a victim.
Sounded a real R. Kelly-ish being, why would I hanktie? He's trying to defend himself. Ridiculous
in the first place. And now a year later, two weeks ago, you put out a report that the NBA's
found nothing. I wonder who fucking told them that. Maybe the same people that were on TV saying,
why would I hog tie on your platform? Ridiculous that they've allowed themselves to fall into this
clear spin from the clipper side. That being neutral will be one thing. Allowing them to use
you like that is so goddamn embarrassing.
Listen, we can spend another hour on everything that day.
ESPN's done for the last, you know, five years, five, ten years, whatever.
I think for the, for the, the clippers, we, so we joke about it a lot.
They really do need to get out of L.A.
Honestly, like, I do, I do think that this franchise and the history that they have in,
in L.A., is very clear.
it's not going to get done here.
And you have, you have, what, five years of, maybe seven of competency with Lob City and then like a year and a half where Kauai and PG were either healthy and you had the run to the conference finals.
But the two biggest punishments that Adam Silver has given out on his dime has been the first thing that he did whenever he came in here and get Donald Sterling out of here for the Clippers.
this one for the Clippers.
They, they time in time and time again, they have proven, regardless of who's in charge,
that they are not going to be a respectable organization.
The owner of the Clippers is a cursed position, like the defense against the dark arts teacher
at Harry Potter.
Every movie there's a new teacher that gets fired for some mysterious reason.
That's the Gliber's ownership position.
You come in and you get coppers scandal.
Yeah.
And all this is like, for what?
Would you get out of this whole Kauai winter era?
You went to the Western Conference Finals once, but oh shit, I forget.
Kawhi wasn't there actually in the Western Conference Finals because he tore's ACL.
And then you may have won, like, maybe one or two other playoff series, you know?
You had a little moment.
You didn't have an era.
You didn't have, like, a full season.
You had a singular moment where, you know, you were popping your shit back in 2019 a little bit before the bubble happened.
But outside of that, like, you got absolutely nothing.
And you get to watch OKC, you runoff with guys.
who you drafted in Shay and then a guy who you potentially could have had in J-Dub
and you got, you unloaded 10 first round picks.
Be Souls, please read me the copy of this tweet, word for word.
The total cost of Kawhi Leonard signing with the Clippers.
SGA, Jalen Williams, 10 first round picks, two first-round pick swaps.
He is the worst investment.
Freaking unreal.
Made to a single organization in human, like history, bro.
This shit is crazy.
Yeah, the shit I'm seeing Clippers fans online talk about Kauai is hilarious.
I thought of crazy.
Yeah, this is one of the worst eras of NBA history.
For a singular team, absolutely.
Like, for all it costs them to go all in.
Like, this would almost, this would be an interesting conversation if they had actually
gotten the championship in 2020 like people thought they would.
Because then you could do this whole like, at least you got a ring.
It's the cost of a championship.
Are you willing to pay this theoretically?
You get all this given up accumulation of 10 first round picks.
was it worth it?
They didn't even get a job done.
They had the worst meltdown
I've ever seen in the playoffs in 2020.
Yeah.
All they have is misery and humiliation.
Yeah.
And what's worse about this too is like,
yeah, you lose out on these picks.
And that's fine because teams literally like lose out on picks all the time in the NBA
drafts, you know.
Not five.
You're right.
But there's bad.
But not five consecutive.
And not for nothing.
Yeah.
I know.
It's not a bad trade.
It's a,
you got nothing.
Yes.
At least people like me can sit here and be like,
you know, Rishet's a.
ass, but we got another year.
You have no one to point to at all.
All of a sudden, Keaton Wackler's just staring at the fucking mirror every day and be like,
yo, I have to save this city.
I have to save this organization.
It literally lies on Keating Wackler's frail shoulders right now.
Am I the chosen one?
He has to be.
The next pick is 2034, which means the next player they'll be able to draft
with their own pick was born in 2015 and is currently 10 or 11 years old from Roger
Sherman.
Hilarious.
It's like 2034.
That is crazy.
But we're going to be 34, 35 years old at this time.
Jesus Christ, that's the next time they're going to have a pick?
Yeah.
That's actually ridiculous.
That's insane.
They're cursions telling them in my mid-30s?
Bro, guess who got their 2028 pick though?
We up.
Yeah, oh my God.
So obviously we know.
What do they do?
Like, because I guess there's a couple of paths that could go down.
They have Garland.
Assuming the Raptor straight happens, which.
if they're going to do some arbitration and try to stretch this bitch out,
I don't know that you can assume that anymore,
because if they think we shouldn't be held responsible for this,
I would imagine that trade is on ice into the season,
which makes it weird as hell.
We'll see.
But assuming that happens,
you have a nucleus of Darius Garland and Ingram as your win now stars.
You can provide, you know, decency.
Those are stars,
and you can play around to whatever degree of success.
I don't know, but you can build around them
and try to win a game any given night.
You can try it, yeah, yeah.
Yeah, and you have Keaton Wogler,
who's your young core,
which thank God,
the Zubot thing went their way.
Yeah.
Thank God that coin flip
went their way, right?
And that's it.
And then you got a bunch of role players
that are cool.
You have a solid,
a good amount of role players.
You have Derek Jones Jr.
You signed Rui.
End of sentence.
Oh, Chris Dunn.
You have valuable guns.
Max Cruz.
Maxx is there.
Oh,
facts.
So I'm saying these role players
because, like,
I think we traded for second round picks,
maybe some swaps,
low first round picks,
whatever?
Like, do you sell the farm
and try to just get
as many picks as you can
because we have none now?
Do you go all in on winnings and make games as you can?
Winning or losing doesn't matter anymore, bro.
Like at all for this team.
I think you owe it to...
Your fans to put out the best product.
Yeah.
Especially in this situation, I think you actually do.
Because they know that for the next...
Until 2034, there's no hope.
Like what you said about if you have a bad year,
you can always tell yourself, there's next year we can, you know, have good luck in
in the lottery and that's just not possible anymore.
So it's either, I think that they should do that and they should just keep rolling with Garland
and B.I.
Also, if they're scammers, then they're scammers and everything's crazy and everything's
upside down right now.
Let's get real crazy.
Garland, you're gone.
Nah.
Bia, you're gone.
For what, though?
One of, one of them, would it be crazy if you trade, you don't have to trade both of them,
but you trade one of them because the way that the lottery odds are set up for the next
three years, if you're somewhat mid, then you can, you can get to the top. And so obviously,
like, you know, that's not, that depends more on the other person's pick than how you perform.
But to give yourself something to look forward to, one of them could go in like a year or two.
I would trade them today. So here's the thing. You mentioned the fact that they owe their fans
something. That is a real thing here that most of the time we have convos about what a team
should do. I'm not going to be thinking about sitting here and telling you what they should do
to like appease fans. This is a rare circumstance where they definitely need to think about
how do I cultivate a fan base that doesn't completely abandon us over the next decade.
True calamities on the table for them as a franchise organization that is in the business of
growing fans to come watch games and give money to them, right? There's really is a doomsday
scenario where nobody fucks with them. That matters and they probably can't be horrible with no
reward.
But I also think it would make sense to just, can you get two first-time picks for Darius,
Garland?
I think you can't.
Yeah.
You can two for him.
You probably can get much for Ingram.
Maybe you can get some, I don't know.
You can get salary and second round picks, whatever.
Maybe you keep Ingram for that reason.
But like, they can trade Derek Jones Jr. for picks.
Next year at the deadline, they can trade Ruby for picks, like all this stuff.
Like, I would think they have to just like sell off all the veterans they have
and get as many mediocre assets as possible and try to do what the Nets did when they had
that one year where they had DeLo Reclamation Project All-Star,
they had all these like second round pick and low first-on picks
that ended up becoming something better than they were no more anticipated to be.
Yeah.
I feel like they have to try to do that, right?
You can't just, you can't accept no first-on picks for five years.
There's no way to make that work, even if you're trying to be respectable.
Like, you're just going to go out and sign mid-free agents and be the team that spends money.
Like, there's no path to that making sense.
I think they are at the calamity point.
That's kind of where I'm at with it because I was kind of joking earlier,
but not really like the whole like building a fan base shit even with all the cheating
they've already failed yes so like where do we go from here it can only go down it's it's dead
the lakers had their worst stretch in franchise history but they're not making the playoffs
in the most prosperous time that the clippers had in lob city and that gets fumbled because
you have the donald sterling stuff and then even once you get kawai and you get paul george
and you kind of revitalize everything.
Now, that, that, that doesn't work out because you have these failed things.
And even with Steve Balmer and the Intuit Dome and everything, now the Lakers are back up.
Like, think, think you are building everything from the ground up and you think that you're
going to have a fan base.
And you're like, man, it's about to be jumping in here.
And then the, the stadium across the city, they're like, oh, yeah, we like, we like,
what party are you guys are throwing?
Hey, LeBron's going to be at our party.
And so it just completely.
completely destroys everything that you've done.
This is why I say I do think that they
should be moved because I think from a fan-based
perspective, I don't think you can recover from this.
Yeah, this is something that's just like, I can't take you back as a fan.
This is so embarrassing.
Yeah, you should leave.
Like, you literally, like, gave me nothing to look forward to
for the next five years.
And on top of that, too, like, the state of this roster is just mad ass, bro.
Like, what do you mean?
One of the biggest off-season acquisitions that we made
is also like has something to do with Bradley Bill
who's here for no reason.
Brandon Ingram and Bradley Bill Hoops for the next five years
with zero room for improvement
would make any sane person lose their mind.
I'd choke somebody out.
Like what do you mean?
You're calling me up asking me if I want to buy season tickets.
Are you dumb?
Pay me.
Are you stupid?
So they get two first-on picks back for the Kauai trade.
We can do some math here to try to use some agent math
like Jonathan Camingo's agent and convince ourselves
we'd net out neutral.
We get two back from the Raptors.
And really Raptors picks are worth.
more than Clippers picks is we're going to be good.
So that's really worth three rather than two.
So now we're only two in the hole.
Then we trade Darius Garland for one pick and two swaps.
Those two swaps really equal 1.5 picks because we have optionalities.
And now we're up.
That's five and a half picks to the five we lost.
We trade Derek Jones Jr. and Rui for a couple second round picks.
Three of them.
That culminates to another first round pick.
So in the span of like two weeks plus a cycle of deadline for Rui, we can be up six
picks after we lost five.
We can really be up in general.
I like the way you think
Brought you by Aaron Turner
That's good math right there
It's good math
It's done
I
Yeah I think for the Clippers
This whole
This whole season is
The last 18 months have been such a
Just a roller coaster
Because even after the investigation
comes down
In the trade deadline
When they got Darius Garland
We're like
Oh my goodness
How were they able to
to pull this off, right?
How were you able to go into this next era,
knowing that all of your old guys are gone,
and you get a 26-year-old point guard to man your future?
And then, you know, we find out that they just don't have a future anymore.
It's still very hard for me to put everything into perspective of how bad this is for this team.
The only thing that you can do is doing things similar to the Darius Garn trade,
which is you have to find a team.
that might be even more desperate than you at this point in time.
And right now it's hard to do because literally like you're 30 out of 30.
You have nothing to offer for anybody outside of the little money that you do have.
But really like that is the method.
And then also on top of that too,
investing hell of money when it comes to your scouting department, bro,
because that is one of the biggest issues that the entire NBA,
like that the end,
out of every single team in their weaknesses,
you have the biggest blight when it comes to not finding any like quality players
through the NBA draft.
You think they can go
with Julius Randall?
You'd think that's the answer?
How about we get the Raptors back involved?
The Raptors clearly have good report.
Actually, I was going to say that good report
with the Clippers, but the guys who made that trade
in the front office are clearly getting suspended for a year.
So they're going to have to make new rapport
with new Clippers people because all those guys are fired.
But we had that connection.
RJ Bear and one more first-on pick for Garland.
Hey, you think you're funny,
but that's actually valid.
It's very valid.
That's very valid.
You think I'm funny?
I'm not joking.
You're chuckling, but hold on, man.
Clippers fans go walk with me real quick.
Garland, Kauai and Scotty.
Hey.
CMB, we can make some shit happen.
Hey.
What is it worth, too?
I think Steve Baumers still got off easy.
Like, why is he coming back?
I understand, like, one year suspension is crazy, but...
You think they should ban him or something?
Yeah.
Yeah.
Why he should...
The complications to make himself just, like, that's like a...
That's hard because it's a private business thing.
Like, it's tough to, like, realistically.
Like, they could kick Donald Sterling out.
because he was a raging racist and like there's a certain line where like it's going to be hard for people to side against you i feel like it'll be pretty hard to convince owners
that they should set the precedent of being able to make billionaires sell their team on like non-obvious things like racism you know i felt that just be hard to get done yeah either like they even wanted to i don't know if adam silver is even in the interest of that maybe they like steve bomber want him in there because he's so rich i don't know but i feel like that would be hard to get done in reality wouldn't it listen i
I think in, especially in light of the Mark Walter stuff, I think he likes having somebody
with actual running a team.
But what can they do outside of that?
Because if that's, there's many reasons why it's tough to make somebody sell a business.
Is there anything else that could have done to Bomber that would like feel more appropriate
since obviously money doesn't phase him?
$40 billion.
$40 billion.
No, I think.
Yeah.
I think it really is just make the suspension longer than a year.
That's probably the only thing because he very clearly cares about the team.
and likes being around there.
And obviously like the Into a Dome is his baby.
And so if you tell him like,
oh, you can't be around the team for two years for three years.
Maybe that is something.
Give the Dome to the Lakers.
Nah, bro.
Give the dome to the Lakers.
Take his dome.
That would be, and I'm glad you said that,
that would be the best outcome out of this entire thing.
You move them.
Take that dome purple.
Take that wall down, man.
That weight mass wall.
Take that fucking wall down.
Yeah.
Knock it over.
Yeah, let's give the Lakers into a dome.
Let's move the Clippers to Seattle.
Actually, not.
Seattle deserves like a real fresh start.
Send him to Shanghai or something.
You know, Adam Silver is all about expanding into foreign markets.
Send him overseas, wherever you want.
Overseas, yeah.
To be the London team?
Yeah, or like Istanbul or something.
Damn.
Yeah.
Not one of the premier markets.
London's like too desirable.
Okay, okay.
Yeah.
Tim's somewhere like, it's not a bad city.
Like Istanbul, I'm sure they want that market.
It's a major city in the world
Here you go
But it's not number one
Picking on the Turks again
I just said it's a major city
But he's not number one
Yeah
He can't have Tokyo
Mano
Send him to Manila
They're going to have to fly
10 hours
To the nearest
Laker game
Oh my God
That's gonna be the closest game
Is a 10 hour flight
Fuck instead of the Juarez
Got no fan showing up
So yeah, obviously Steve bomber got the hammer.
Do you think there's any chance that arbitration works?
Do we, should we care about the fact they're appealing?
Should we look forward to seeing how this goes or does it seem pretty shut?
Yeah, I think it's pretty sure.
I don't think like, what are you going to appeal?
Like, how are you going to?
No.
Exactly.
You're trying to know your way to shut up.
No.
Like that's not going to work.
It's not going to work.
like you just you just have to deal with it at this point in time it's just a whole it's a waste of time
and honestly to me it's almost more embarrassing to appeal like what are you going to try to
peel like instead of get instead of five first round picks getting taken yes maybe like only get
four taken yeah three yeah you fight to to the max you can try but I think I like just listen
come out the building have your hands up we got you red-handed like the building like the
being surrounded.
It got me.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And I think that allowing this suspension to go through so that the Kauai trade can finally
be completed and you can actually move on to your, to your next era, that's what this is
about.
You're not getting all free.
You're taking the plea, right?
And so you have to figure out a way to mitigate all of the damage.
And so I think that just not appealing will probably be the best thing.
Dude, what type of a player do you have to be in order to be happy with the clippers?
Like, what type of stage in your career do you have to be?
One that enjoys getting a paycheck?
I guess.
Yeah.
There I'm money to give up.
It's just so damning to be like a young player.
Like, he waggon was like, fuck, bro.
Like, I'm going to be one of the youngest here for the next five years, pretty much.
That's, he has job security.
What's their caps to do you look at right now?
If they execute the quiet trade today, could they free up cap space and offer Jalen Dernabag?
that's the route they probably can't do that because they have so much going on in their front office they're probably not doing jack shit yeah because like they're ever the the roof's on fire and they're trying to get a fucking straw and suck up a little bit of water at a time and blow it out they're going to be figuring this shit out for a month that's a way to get some first round fix back just give jalen durin a fuck ton of money flip them later like that's like that's like players like jillandering who are going through similar things that he's going through right now who aren't like the most desirable and man training camp is in two weeks two weeks
Fuck.
Yeah.
There's no way
the Kwai Laner trade
is executed by then,
right?
Well, actually,
no,
no mind.
Maybe they can
because I suppose
either way,
whether they win
the appeal or not,
they could still,
they still trade Kauai
and doesn't really
change anything.
So I guess they have to
just push it
before training in Kemp, right?
Like, you can't allow that
to go into midseason.
What the fuck do those players do?
Yeah,
because I think unless the appeal
comes back and they're like,
actually,
Kauai is suspended.
The rapper is like,
bro, shut up,
yeah.
But because all of the punishment is on the clipper side and kawai's not there, you can't appeal, but the kai thing still should go through before it can't.
So, yeah, I mean, the Durn stuff, this is basically how they're going to have to have to work for the next eight years.
And it's fixable.
You're going to have to be a demon at the thrift store.
Yeah.
And you got to have to find some pieces when, you know, when, when, when, it's.
25 cents like that that's that's the that's the move i don't know about 25 cents it's a little like
deep no i've you there's there's sort of like that we're like the first day is like 25 cents then
the next day is like 50 next day a dollar oh yeah yeah yeah yeah seen stuff like that they're like
sliding scales and that's it's very possible for them to do things like that it just sucks
so they don't have the track record or history of doing anything like that over the last like 20 years
bro so at this point in time yeah just send your core and deal with it bro right we're in the
of the worst scammers in history.
Y'all got to step up y'all game, man.
All the scammers getting caught.
All of them from all over the leagues.
Do you got tips for them?
If you were there trying to get off with that,
what would you have done differently?
If you're going to pay someone to do a brand deal,
have them do a brain deal, that's one.
That's one.
Good place to start, plant a tree or two?
Yeah, plant a tree or two.
What if Clyl looks at you and says, I don't want to?
What do you say about that?
Listen, you want the bread or not.
You're going to have to plant this tree, buddy.
I don't know.
You have a hard bargain
Just fucking do it
Fuck he got me
I'm gonna carry koaii
You're a real convincing person
I'm gonna carry koai learning to the garden
My five foot eight ass
We can negotiate with him
We sent him in our behalf
Couldn't get throttled
We're all even broke
It's like bro just do it
Come on
Dude
Let to tear you
It's also going to be mad weird.
Seeing going into draft night for the next five years knowing that there's going to be 29 picks available instead of the normal 30.
Some high school kid right now for the next few years it's just gone fucked to off of a million dollars or so.
Yeah.
And it's not the next five years just to clarify.
They got taken in 2029, 2030, 21, 23, and 23 and 23rd and I guess 32.
I didn't say in between.
So it starts in a couple of years.
And the Pacey got taken away.
You're interesting.
One of them is the one they're owed by the Pacers in 2029.
They don't have their own first time picking the year.
They've already traded it.
It took away that Pacers pick.
So in that year, the Clippers pick will matter and will go to somebody else.
I don't remember who they trade to.
I'm guessing that was a quiet trade maybe.
Regardless.
Some of these years, though, the Clippers just won't be part of the lottery.
Their name just won't be in there at all.
Strange.
It's going to be a weird year of technicalities being different.
tough
so
amen
it's what they get for home
Chris Paul too man
oh I know Chris Ball's
unbelievably up right now
Karma
Chris Paul's on a boat
throwing lives to Russell Westbrook
Yeah
Wow
Wow
Yeah
And he wins
He does
He sees them
He gets the last laugh
He gets a last laugh
Yeah
Nobody gets a bigger last half than Pobla Tori though like
We got to put him up there
With 2016 Braun
For the run that he had
Yeah like this is
Beyond generation
generational once in a generation this is like what do you what's once in a millennia a millennial
run like you're not going to see this in your lifetime your kid's lifetime your kids lifetime your
kids kids lifetime and so forth like 10 generations you're not going to see a journalism run like him
the clippers did this shit twice now I know they get they got another scan okay like maybe like
17 years from now or something like that I can see yeah 15 years yeah okay I wonder who's
gonna uncover that one Apollo tory yeah he's gonna be double back yeah on the mental probably
I mean, the guy who did Watergate didn't do this.
There's always somebody new.
Bobi Tori, Jr.
Beesles, are you ready?
Yes.
To come stand up in 16 years to bring down bomber.
I will take Pablo Tori's Filipino journalism, like.
He's Filipino?
Yeah.
Oh, I didn't know that.
I'd be knowing things.
That's one of, like, the least, like, secrets.
There's not a secret at all.
He actually wears that very, very proudly.
Ah.
Right of that.
It's one of, like, the defining characteristics of Bob.
And like, even if he never once mentioned it, not hard to ascertain that knowledge.
It's still being knowing, though.
Okay.
Yeah, he's very up.
And it's just one of you watching.
I mean, the clippers have very few fans, obviously.
You know who's very down, though?
Who?
Mark Cuban dumbass.
Oh, yeah.
I'm team bomber.
He's a fucking idiot.
You're a team dork.
He just went ahead and like inserted himself and backed up all the owners for literally
no reason at all, bro.
He's the last person on this earth who should be coming out here and be like,
actually you didn't do it he's very innocent after the whole like selling of the team shit
happened with the Dallas Mavericks he's the worst for this is overly embarrassing he just
he's innocent bro he was on there saying steve's way too smart to do this a smart billionaire
of our class would never be so foolish like a normal person yeah this dumb motherfucker
you didn't know nothing bro you fucking idiot how embarrassing he's too smart for this I
know Steve he would never he's one of us
shut the fuck up
mark
yeah you saw the tweet
these soldiers pulled up
he's response congrats Pablo
so we're losing bro
yeah to the high road
yeah it's actually crazy acting like he doesn't know
what billionaires be doing
it's
why would a hog die
it's all the same
what a crazy world right
it's also been a bad 18 months for him
for who for mark Cuban
what else happening
traded the team
that Luca gets traded now yeah
sold the team to the Adelson's of all people
but he just did it on his like on his own
like he didn't have to be a bad 18 months
I know
he sold his team to the Adelson's who
the fans are like are they gonna send us to
Vegas for gambling money like
is it worse
they might
they might
they might do both
they might trade Luca
and still go to Vegas.
You're screwed, buddy.
Now what.
Yeah, I wish there is some kind of silver line for the Clippers.
There's something interesting to say, like, but there's not.
It's just truly fucked.
There's the Clippers.
Yeah, the Clippers said Clippers to an even greater degree.
It'll be a fun experiment for us, though, to see, like, just how miserable and miserable
can get for a franchise.
I will say this.
I do think that, what's his name, Lawrence Frank?
Yep.
Good GM. Over the last few years specifically, he's made like several like smart underlying in between weeds moves.
And I do think he's spending free, which is tough.
But I'm sure like he has a voice in there somehow and he can send those emails and burners and stuff like that.
He's a six months.
He's going to do six months?
He's a six months.
Oh.
Only six?
Yeah, because I mean the business person cut the check.
They got a year.
Ah, okay.
Regardless.
I think someone like him can find a way out because he's been known to do smarter things.
things around the edges. So it's not the, it's not mission impossible to become like somewhat decent
again and maintain being like an eighth, ninth seed like they've been over the last few years.
It's not impossible. I would agree with you and say you can try to do what the Nets did, right?
The Nets drafted decently on the margins, did what they could and then signed Kyrie and KD.
Free agency is fucking dead. You don't sign stars anymore. You can thank the last couple of CBAs
for that. True. What's the avenue? We do everything we can. We draft some gems here and there.
Desmond Bain and pair him with Randall or something
Entella offer sheets. Yeah.
Great. We can go pair Jalen Duren
Desmond Bain and win a championship.
Yep. A Desmond Bain type guy. I'm saying it was
with a 27th pick or whatever. I got to do this in 2K.
They got to update that shit today. Oh, all the
2K YouTubers? Yeah. I can already, I'm sure Kenny's
printing money. I've rebuilt the Los Angeles
Cooper. I'm sure
Steve Bauer and handcuffs.
What a thumb-nill?
You got black eyes?
The mouth open.
A gate.
Donovan, you're next.
You're next.
You're next, buddy.
Can you play the baby?
This goes back.
This goes back to Isaac's earlier point of the clippers didn't get the job done.
And they didn't win a chip.
And so you can't even have the conversation of, is it worth it?
And if they end up taking five first-on picks from the Knicks in the next decade, it's worth it.
Just take McGale.
Same thing.
Same math.
Just take McHale.
Arrest them.
You need nothing.
Send him away.
What the fuck?
But stay healthy, man.
Give them his money, buy him out.
He has to go somewhere else.
That would be the money's out.
They better not.
They better not.
Are the Knicks just like a successful Clippers timeline?
Yes.
Yes.
Yes.
And I'm glad to live in this.
List out on Kyrie KD.
Yeah.
Got Jell and out on the big creation.
Look at y'all, man.
Good scamming.
Good scaming.
We scammed properly.
I love this.
I love that.
I do think that Clippers fans,
there has to be some type of speed dating round
that they could go to and figure out
who they want to root for next.
Do we have suggestions?
Do we have suggestions for Clippers fans
of who they should root for now?
If you had a Clippers fan in your life, what would you tell him to do?
What's his course of action to find some type of hope in the NBA?
It really.
Try the Nets.
Let's start there.
Okay, we could try the Nets.
Go to the other little brother in the other major city.
You're going to feel a little bit at home.
J.
Jor Jomon got you?
Okay.
So you have that.
Is there an option on the West Coast?
He made a point, though.
You're going to feel a little bit of home.
You can't ask them to up with their lives entirely and go to somewhere new.
As somebody's in Wisconsin, you can't tell them to just go to L.A.
You've got to put them somewhere that feels right.
You're going to send Sacramento.
No, Brooklyn.
Yeah, Brooklyn.
Brooklyn, that feels right.
I feel like you're in the same type of place with a different font.
Okay, so Brooklyn's on the table.
Would you send them to,
do you send them to Golden State?
Would you send them to Sacramento?
Because I don't think the Clippers King's rivalry is anything there.
What the fuck?
That's what I'm saying.
That's what I'm saying?
What the fuck?
I was going cheek for cheek.
I don't think that there's beef.
So I think it's okay.
Who's the stinkiest turn?
Yeah.
Me.
I'm the biggest shit.
I'm the biggest, the largest shit.
Okay, so obviously the Nets, we can go Sacramento.
We can keep them in that same realm of poverty,
but maybe this is poverty with hope because this is poverty with draft picks.
Yeah, because if they still want to,
they still want to have the vibe of I was with this team at their lowest.
They could stay at home.
Go to Lakers.
Nobody, if you're a Clippers fan,
nobody's going to blame you if you were for the Lakers.
They're going to say,
say, oh, you're just now doing that.
You've been the ops for so long, though.
You're 30 and you're just not really ops, though.
Nobody cares.
They're not ops, but you can't do that.
And their own heads, they've been in ops.
You can't do that.
That's a one-sided thing that the Clippers have been getting off.
Exactly. Clippers fans are, address me.
They're not real off.
They're not real offs to anybody.
Make it root for the Lakers and get off scoffrey.
Nobody really cares.
Mind you again, we are just talking about five people.
Exactly.
Five people looking for a new home.
We can do this, man.
16 people by her Reeves.
Jersey, nobody noticing.
Literally, nothing changes.
So I think we put the Lakers on there.
For West Coast vibes.
Yeah, yeah.
In the middle of the country.
Okay, yeah, we need middle of America representation.
Yeah.
I mean, the Bulls are mediocre.
The Bulls have famously bad ownership.
Yeah, things are starting to turn around a little bit.
Big market. Right, so you still get that vibe.
You still get that, like, people do want to come to your city.
Yeah.
So the Bulls are there.
It's a solid option.
Do we have to put?
Dallas in there? Mark Cuban put up
raised his hand and says Steve Bomber is a genius. He never
do this. If he's still on the Mavericks, I would say yes
but he's kind of removed himself. Okay, so no
there's no link there. Yeah.
Imagine just following the paper trail and
becoming a Thunder fan.
Honestly, you can say
they built this shit,
that's okay. That's basically my team.
Yeah. Yeah. That's basically my team.
Yeah. So you can go in Oklahoma City, get
your reparations and be a
Thunder fan. Yes. Wow. Look at
Sam Presti in the eyes
and be like,
bitch,
I created you.
Yeah.
That's like us,
us betting,
you win,
you take my money,
I'm broke,
you buy a car.
I'm like,
that's really my car.
Exactly.
I'm coming back for one day.
That hell is really my
when you're thinking about it.
Clippers are on there.
I mean,
Thunder's on there for sure then.
Yeah.
Last scene in a round out of top five.
You could follow Kauai.
Go the Raptors.
But they probably
fucking hate Kauai though.
So maybe they want nothing to do with him.
Nah,
nah,
yeah,
no.
So we've got to get as far as from Canada as we can.
I would say just on the same scamming vibe, or if you want to go completely different.
So city-wise and what you're kind of used to, the city of Miami do be scamming.
However, the organization is very...
Too stand-up.
It's very stand-up.
It's very hard work.
And so that is a good balance for what you're coming from.
Okay, well, Miami has the...
That's a good point.
You also have your honest there now?
True.
Good point.
Miami has the most scammers in America.
Houston might have the second.
Rockets?
Hawks?
Atlanta probably has a second, never mind.
Trump's all that shit.
Oh, they got to be Hawks, man.
Okay.
Scammer you.
It's the test.
There's already too many people in Atlanta.
You could fit five more.
You're talking about five people.
You're right.
They can have one of those shared units.
Put them in one building.
Yeah.
One duplex even.
I got a place when it was in like Forsy,
or something like that.
You know, they'll be right.
There goes.
The top five team is the Clippers fans
your root for it.
Kings, Lakers,
heat,
Hawks, Thunder.
Oh, you do Nets in there,
not heat.
Oh, yeah.
Oh, yeah,
the Hawks are the scammer.
Yeah,
yeah, yeah.
And there you go.
Any last words for Clippers fans
for Steve bomber,
for anybody involved?
Blow it up.
Get bombed.
Blow up what?
The team.
The franchise.
And we'll see y'all tomorrow for Thursday's episode.
