Starting point is 00:00:00 Mo, I would like you to close your eyes. And picture something for me. Let's do it. Picture the greatest performance you've ever seen your life. What face comes to mind? Him. That man right there. That man right there.
Starting point is 00:00:13 Donovan Smoot. Donovan Smoot. Yes, I believe the year is 2022, maybe 2023, our first ever IRL podcast. And it was him and his infamous rant about Walt Chamberlain. And that fake ass hundred point game, greatest that I've seen in my life. You don't think about LeBron James, Steph Curry, know of that bullshit. Nah. You think about Donovan D. Smooth.
Starting point is 00:00:35 One for one. Never seen someone who's so locked in in my entire life. Unfortunately, Donovan would not be the topic of conversation today. It will be the NBA stars we talked about because as you guys see with a title, we're here today to draft the greatest individual game performances of the 2020s. Whether it be finals, playoffs, regular season, scoring outbursts, defensive lockdown performances, shots to block and win finals, whatever might be. We're going to draft the 20. Best individual game performances. Hell yeah.
Starting point is 00:01:02 What if I, what's going to stop me from drafting Donovan? I think Beesoles. Yeah. He's the right things down and he just like won't input your pick. He'll give you something stupid in response. I got some for him. Okay. I got some for him.
Starting point is 00:01:16 I don't know what you got for him. Stay tuned to find out. Yeah, watch the whole video. Find out what you got for him. Yeah, what the fuck? No worry about it. Got another death note. So yeah, we'll get into that as the main topic today.
Starting point is 00:01:29 Before that, you guys know how these Monday episodes work. We'll talk about the biggest news stories of this week. I wish there are not many because we were in the dead of the off season. But we got some stuff to talk about. Then the draft. Then some TikTok time stuff. Cue the intro music. Let's get into it.
Starting point is 00:01:44 We're throwing it back. That's crazy. He was bragging. You didn't say. The cranium is crazy. Oh, my God. Thank you. Crown eaters rejoice.
Starting point is 00:02:03 kicking this episode off talking about the news as always Steve Balmer has decided to gracefully accept his punishment from the NBA for being a lying cheating owner and giving Kauai Leonard money under the table he has issued a statement saying I will not sue I will take my punishment Beesles why don't you read us that statement he put up oh man it's popcorn reading it's a long one man
Starting point is 00:02:30 try your best Okay. From my LA Clipper followers. This has been a very difficult time for everybody associated with the Clippers. And for that, I have sincere regrets. I want to apologize to our fans, employees, and my fellow NBA team owners for the distraction and distress this matter has caused, for which I accept responsibility as principal owner.
Starting point is 00:02:53 We are committing to put this chapter behind us. We have communicated to the NBA that we are complying with the penalties assessed by the league, have paid the fine, and are moving forward. While there are still disagreements concerning the findings in the report, this is not where I want to focus. Team owners should support, not distract. This is my favorite performance right now. Fuck that. You off to the side.
Starting point is 00:03:13 I was about to say, listen, the work that we have done here. Did I stutter? No stutter. Hold on. You got three sentences left. Don't fall with the last time. The challenges ahead of us are significant, but so is our resolved. We will continue to build our team and invest in our community.
Starting point is 00:03:29 The confidence of our fans is our priority. with our talented roster, outstanding staff, and clear vision, I am certain that we will compete at the highest level and be an organization our fans can be proud of.
Starting point is 00:03:39 Almost over at the end. Organization came home and looked like, but you did it. What fuck is y'all I talk about? This man came to us, couldn't read. We'll reverse this like you.
Starting point is 00:03:53 The TDD program, man. I have seniors that can't read. And now he's reading. Now he's reading full official statements. Clap it up for me. That he's articulate. Hey! Gaser.
Starting point is 00:04:08 Are we clapping it up for Steve Bomber for accepting his punishment gracefully and not taking this to the courts? Because as we figured out last week, per Pablo Tori, he could not appeal this and take it to arbitration because NBA arbitration is limited to the NBA PA and obviously Kauai Leonard settled so that wouldn't happen. The only way he could go about this was to literally sue the league in the courts, not doing that. Do you commend him or is this to be expected?
Starting point is 00:04:28 I can't commend him because. the house of surroundings. Yeah. It wasn't surrounded. They were in the house. They already arrested you. Yeah. You're in the cell talking your lawyer being like,
Starting point is 00:04:40 I'm not going to accept this. And now he's like, okay, I'll accept it. So I guess just that everything can be over, sure. Thank you for doing this. Because even if he took it to the courts, he was going to lose. There wasn't going to be a way where the federal government was going to be like, nah, Adam Silver was actually wilding on this. Here are your first round picks back.
Starting point is 00:05:00 So I think. just so that this entire story could be over, he lost and you have to know when to cut your losses. And it's a good play from him on that part. On the NBA part, man, you had him surrounded checkmate from the moment you dropped this. So shout out to you guys because they got exactly what they wanted. Yeah, yeah, I agree. I feel like if I was a Clippers fan, nothing would be worse than to see your owner get caught and then continuously fight against being caught and just drag this whole situation out.
Starting point is 00:05:30 If I'm Steve Bomber, okay, like, you did what you're supposed to do because now you just focus on the future and how to maneuver around this. It feels like impossible, but maybe not so impossible, like, tasks that you've been handed when it comes to turning things around and having let no picks on your name. You'll be right. Yeah. So, like, it really is tough for, for the fans because you just need this nightmare to be over. And it's not going to be over for a decade. Yeah. And so I guess the first step to healing is, you know, is acceptance.
Starting point is 00:06:04 Exactly. And you accepted it. And acknowledging that you have a problem. And that is exactly what this step feels like for the clippers moving forward. Speaking of not being over, though, the Stein line reported that sources breached on the situation tell him that the clippers and raptors are free at any time to co-submit for NBA approval on their agreed in June Kauai Leonard trade. Obviously, both teams must want the trade to happen. but I'm told there is no holdup at the league level. So this trade could be done right now, but it hasn't.
Starting point is 00:06:34 Leading people to talk on Twitter, are the clippers going to, are they going to pull some shenanigans and be like, either I'm not doing this trade, we're keeping Kauai because why would we take now? We want more assets now because we need more picks. Is there some type of tomfoolery afoot? Or is this trade going to happen as was expected? What do you think?
Starting point is 00:06:49 Hey, man. I haven't even entertained a thought in my mind of what this could look like if it bounced back. low-key, like, devious side of me, wants to see it bounce back and see Kauai, just stuck with the clippers. But man, I don't see, like, that's, this is blowing me right now.
Starting point is 00:07:05 I'm not going to, it's crazy. At this point, I don't, it would make no sense to, to not do the trade, knowing that you have all of these pigs stripped, and if you do this, you have two picks coming back your way. And if you want to be, like, spiteful, I saw some, I've seen people, like, joke around and be like, oh, yeah, they're, they're going to send them to,
Starting point is 00:07:23 to the kings as, like, a punishment for doing them wrong. any other team that wants to get in the sweepstakes, they know that the clippers are at a disadvantage. They're not going to pay top dollar. So you're not going to get the two first-arm picks that Toronto is giving. So I think that they should probably just complete this trade, get the picks, and keep it moving. I'm not a particularly spiteful guy.
Starting point is 00:07:47 I don't normally condone an NBA team operating on spite. I would think it would be foolish to let emotions guide you in your decision-making, especially at a time where you need to be as smart as ever. since you're dealing from a place of disadvantage having your going to pick strip for five years, right? I'd understand it this time. Why? This motherfucker sold him out.
Starting point is 00:08:07 He made a deal. He copped a plea. He did. I will not allow arbitrations that the clippers are going to be paying this fine. So for you, what's the best gap back for the clippers? Send him to the place where he wants to go the least in life. Apparently, back to Canada,
Starting point is 00:08:22 you would have thought be one of them because he wants to stay in L.A., but apparently he wants to go to Canada now. So send him the opposite direction, like Orlando. That's the furthest place you can get, I think, from Toronto. Orlando's good. Oh, no, but yeah. You don't want to go to Miami.
Starting point is 00:08:33 I might like it there. Or maybe somewhere Indiana, I bet you'd fucking hate Indiana. Or you could send him to like somewhere there where they're like really inconvenience and send him to Portland, man. Somehow like real broke people move. But he can't be. If he's on the West Coast, he's a flight away from LA. Too happy. Too close.
Starting point is 00:08:50 Too happy. I was going to say send him back to San Antonio, but. Oh, yeah. That may be too bad for the league. Nah, they can't do that. San Antonio might not want that. Yeah, and that's too good for him because he's going to win.
Starting point is 00:09:00 They'll pass it up. It'll be all right. You got to send him somewhere really, really unappealing. You got to send him to the number one place that all NBA players hate. Memphis. He's a Memphis Greek.
Starting point is 00:09:10 Facts. If I've ever seen it. Or he's an L.A. guy. A lot of times people from L.A. really hate the East Coast because there's L.A. is so polar opposite and people get performative about their love for one spot and hate the other. Maybe he doesn't like New York.
Starting point is 00:09:23 Maybe he doesn't want to be a little bro. because you just did that with the Clippers. Send him to the Brooklyn Nets. With MPJ's podcast on a loop, 24 hours a day. That's torment. Every day you got to have a cemented like five-hour show at MPZA. Do you know what his podcast is called? I just looked it up yesterday.
Starting point is 00:09:41 Curious Mike? Yeah. It was like Just Curious. The Just Careers podcast. Oh, really? Just curious. Yes. Okay.
Starting point is 00:09:48 I'm just asking questions. I'm just bothered. I swear that's what it's called. Something one goes on. You listen to it? No. I'm just starting a dialogue. I'm just starting a dialogue with Lana Rhodes.
Starting point is 00:09:59 He's a ridiculous guy. It used to be interesting because he used to interview like Nicole Yogan said one time and all that. Oh, I thought. Come on. Come on. He had access. Come on now.
Starting point is 00:10:13 Maybe I started off with the wrong foot. That response after what I had just said, we're players. Yeah, we don't know if that trade's going to go down. We even operate on the assumption it is. We just did our duo's rankings. And we put Cole. on the Raptors, assuming it's just going to be a matter of time?
Starting point is 00:10:26 What if it's not? We'll see. Yeah. I think at this point, so I would like it to be over. But if we do get more, more wacky, more whimsical, I'm also for that. Yeah. So, Kings, it is. They've already, Grizzlies it is.
Starting point is 00:10:45 I think it would probably be unwise for them to try to pull something. Yeah. Like, knowing the reputation it is right now, I wouldn't be trying to dig that a hole in further. Maybe they think of this and we're already the pariah. the league let's go all the way just just be selfish give us another pick Toronto maybe that's what they're going to do I would doubt it though I bet they're going to try to be
Starting point is 00:11:02 cool and be non-problematic yeah yeah if I'm Toronto I'm like yeah kick rocks I'm not I'm not giving you the other but then you're in a tough spot though because you just trade a brand and England now he's back like the fan base is excited another not like you're in a rough spot if you have to do that
Starting point is 00:11:17 but you're trying to strong I'm not yeah I'm not disrespectful I'm not gonna do that right yeah you probably you're probably do tell you you go fuck yourself, but like, it's not, it's not easy. You're going to have to, like, to massage it and be like, come on, let's just have the deal we had before. Like, you're not going to just be like, go
Starting point is 00:11:32 to hell. No, you have to trade Brennan. I'm like, the quick way of say possible, and you're going to end up with probably a worse version of whatever he is. That just that just be the most unfortunate situation. That can happen. I'd fly from Toronto to LA, the slap bomber in person.
Starting point is 00:11:48 If they, if they come out here and they start asking for three first-on-pics, yeah, we're doing a lot here. Yeah. Yeah. too much. It's bad for everybody. Speaking of bad for everybody, Mark Williams has gotten surgery for a left shoulder labrum
Starting point is 00:12:02 injury that is torn and he's reported to miss an extended period of time. It hasn't been exactly confirmed. There was a report by somebody, I think it was a son's report, if I remember correctly, that this is speculation. Speculated that this could be a five-month injury. Jesus Christ. Damn. And for a torn labor and
Starting point is 00:12:18 repair, that doesn't sound crazy to me. Maybe it is sooner he comes back by December or whatever may be. But he is out for an extended period. of time on a very serious injury, which is a sentence that we have said before about Mark Williams, not great to see it in the summer when basketball isn't being played, especially as those Phoenix Suns, the team that need to win now because they have no reason to ever lose games, not controlling their picks forever. Not great to see at all. All eyes are on you. Come on, Malawash. I think he's a good player. I think he's going to not necessarily be like a star or anything
Starting point is 00:12:46 like that, but he's going to be one of the more impact guys coming out of year two. And he's going to have so much opportunity. I remember like to start the year, I was, Someone like me was kind of confused and slightly irritated that he wasn't getting literally any burn at all. But then that started to change towards the back half of the year. And he really had a lot of good moments that made me feel like, okay, like he has a place in his league. They just weren't given the opportunity yet. They had him on like training wheels. Yeah, they kind of like redshirted him as a Ricky big, which isn't like, it's understandable.
Starting point is 00:13:12 It's annoying because like we were all pretty high on him and we like him a lot. It's annoying, but understandable to see about you like you said, now is your time. They're going to need you. Lots of common minutes. Lots of Osloogado at center minutes. they're going to have to get by. Ooh, you could do our minutes. I mean, this team, they were the 8 seed last year.
Starting point is 00:13:32 They're probably, I mean, some other teams are going to bump up. But if he's not there, especially for the first half of the year and these other bigs don't step up, this is probably a 11 seed. Like, last year was very nice and it was, it's one of those seasons, one of like the house money seasons where it doesn't really matter what happens. Nobody had any expectations. I do think that the Suns fans are probably, if they think that they are going back to the playoffs and they're like, okay, we're right back in it, they might be disappointed here.
Starting point is 00:14:00 Yeah. Do we think this affects them at all? Mark Williams is the starting center. I think we all view him average starter. Yeah, type of guy. He's not a bad player. Yeah, he's a good play finisher. We know what he brings offensively.
Starting point is 00:14:10 Defensively, I think he'll never be elites, but you can rebound, good play finisher off your guards and they're healthy. Like, we know what he is, right? Does it impact their like playoff chances to you if they're going to have to do Moloash starter for a while? while and wait for him to come back. If Malawash is ready, then I don't think it would have much of impact because remember
Starting point is 00:14:26 last year they went off most of the year without someone like Jalen Green and they got off by Dylan Brooks isolation hoops, barely getting 20 a game, you know? And I think that they'll be perfectly fine. As long as Malawas and he's like ready to be, give you the same level of production or maybe like 10% worse. I think they'll be fine. Malawash only played a 411 minutes last year. Not much to be meaningful, right?
Starting point is 00:14:48 But in that time, the team's defensive rating was meaningfully by. better 13 points better with him on the court probably because mark williams isn't very special defensively so maybe they're defensively they'll take a notch up in this time and they'll find that they're better off with mallowash starting yeah of course this sucks because this is why like this is part of the reason why the lakers pulled the rug on them a couple years ago uh makes sense you know yeah those medicals must have been spooky yeah they said the knees the shoulders the wrist the head everything's fucked how are you alive on the next story Dremont Green is back in the news for actually not in the news necessarily.
Starting point is 00:15:22 Let me not make sound like he did something. But Jermon Greed is back on the podcast circuit. Interesting comment here that is I think is worth talking about. Dremont says that Clay Thompson was going to leave the Golden State Warriors after the 2019 playoffs to be number one option, but he tore his ACL. He says it was highly likely that after 2019 Clay Thompson was going to leave Golden State to be number one option somewhere, highly fucking likely. Then he got hurt and so he stayed.
Starting point is 00:15:44 But the one thing I can assure you, there was a 90% chance my brother was going to leave Golden State and go somewhere else and test that number one option thing out. Interesting. I imagine he wouldn't say this for no reason. That sounds like something he would know exactly to be true. Like his Bobby Clay told him or like it was like clear by being around him that he was curious about the type of thing. I'm just wondering how y'all would have like imagined that plays out in 2019 specifically
Starting point is 00:16:05 if he never gets hurt and he goes to whatever team. For for Clay. Um, I mean, it probably would have been okay. I think even even at that point like pre-injury, I mean, we should. saw, especially in game six in that series, like Clay has still had the ability to go nuclear and to carry an offense for a certain amount of time. For players like him, where you are super offball, the context of the team matters so much and who is around you, the point guard, do you have the records of Biggs? 2019 was probably, it was just a rough time because if you're
Starting point is 00:16:44 going to stay in the west, then you're going to keep dealing with Steph and Draymond. LeBron's in the west now. And if you want to go out, East Janice is rising, the Celtics are rising. I don't know exactly who he would have went to. Because after that season, like, who would have been up? Nix. You think so?
Starting point is 00:17:07 Remember they try get. That's the summer they try get Katie and Kyrie. They miss out on them. Clay? Clay in New York. around. Obviously the Lakers thing was always in the area.
Starting point is 00:17:17 Father played there. People always kind of like expected that to happen. But Brown was already there so he wouldn't have been like the number one option. Oh true true. You want to be number one option.
Starting point is 00:17:26 You're right. Yeah. He wouldn't. He also AD that they got AD that summer. So that wouldn't have been the case either. And so like if you go like if you go to the standings of of that season right after,
Starting point is 00:17:35 at least in the east, the Pacers are the four seed, the heat are the five seed. Sixers are the six seed, Nets of the seven. Magic of the eight. Maybe Miami or the six. Sixers feel somewhat realistic.
Starting point is 00:17:45 The Miami got Jimmy that summer too, right? Yeah. Yeah. So maybe that in his mind maybe. I would imagine it would result in the Knicks who struck you out and missed on those two stars they wanted. Clay hoops. Could have been fun.
Starting point is 00:17:59 Yeah. The other options out West, like everybody else kind of already had their guy with Lakers, Clippers, Nuggets, Rockets, Thunder. The Jazz had D. Mitch at that time. The Mavs had a young Luca. Yeah, there really wasn't any. anywhere unless he won't like he could have been a grizzly yeah how bad did he really want to be a number one option maybe that's what he was on uh interesting part would be you know if you're
Starting point is 00:18:24 assuming he didn't get hurt that means they probably win the finals so in this scenario either katy gets hurt or he doesn't i guess doesn't matter for this they win the finals so they three pete are they just like bet we're both gonna leave does katie is clay leaving affect katie at all if they're both healthy like there's so many moving parts there like do they how do they replace both those guys in one summer maybe they have cap space a dude something now like so many moving parts happen if that happens they yeah and i can see both of them leaving after a three p because then everybody probably would be like you know what we did what we came here to do then there's draymond leave when he could have went to memphis so he talked about a
Starting point is 00:18:57 couple years ago does he leave oh my god is it just step leave like did they did this brother this bitch up we saw they they basically won that championship with clay being a pretty minor role in 22 so they still could have got there in the same exact way but i don't know maybe not maybe things would have just accelerated in a different direction. I think if they won, maybe Cahey would leave just in general because, like, what else was there to do? Winning three rings pretty much in three years is insane. But I do imagine a world where Clay leaves and he, like, tries to complete his storybook
Starting point is 00:19:27 and really feels, understand what it feels like to be a true number one option because why not? Yeah. Would have been fun to see, nevertheless. Yeah. I'm going to ask you guys, is this a bar? Shea Gildos Alexander via Instagram. I don't know why they call it the off season.
Starting point is 00:19:43 because I still haven't taken a season off. I wonder when people are going to ever look at this and be like, oh, this is corny. They already did. I don't think it is, but. What do you mean two years ago? People hate them. Really? People definitely, the Shay haters, think he's the corniest man alive.
Starting point is 00:19:59 Man, if Zero said this, he would have been. Oh, yeah. He cannot say none like this. But that's a different combo. Know yourself. Know the messenger. If I said this, I'd be baked. I wouldn't say this.
Starting point is 00:20:10 I wouldn't do this. I'm not Shea. that's blaze no it's real I am not say I do not have back to back MVP's I do not have the conference shoe line
Starting point is 00:20:20 I do not have the allure of Shayken with Alexander I can't tweet no aura farmer shit like this I mean you can you want to test it out right now hell not see what happens
Starting point is 00:20:29 I'm not trying to be Tatum he's good man I'm gonna give it like a six out of ten it definitely could could be better he's too simplistic to me yeah he's had
Starting point is 00:20:40 he's had better better captions. And sometimes I am in the camp of like, a lot of times good writing can be very, very simple. You don't need to have this very like flowery, overly poetic caption to be like, oh, wow, that's a bar. It could be two words.
Starting point is 00:20:57 It could be three words, whatever. But this isn't, it's not his best word. So he should get back in the lot. You're expecting to be better. A little bit. Fair enough. Yeah. Speaking of, I don't know why I got us derailed on this irrelevant
Starting point is 00:21:11 S2D. It doesn't really matter. We need to get back to the news that really shakes the league and really actually is worthwhile for us talking about on this platform on this given Monday. The Celtics reportedly want Devin Carter. Yo. Oh, that's not where I thought you were going. Atlanta Hawks have waived former lottery pick Devin Carter. Oh, shit.
Starting point is 00:21:28 I can go, I completely stick that. I didn't even know that we wave this ass. I didn't even know that. You know, it's funny? What? I didn't even know you had them. I knew we had them. I knew we had them because the other day.
Starting point is 00:21:41 Not the other day. It was a couple weeks ago. He was posted up at like a team dinner with Dan Johnson and everyone. I was like, okay, cool. Yeah, I saw this tweet. I didn't even know you had him. Damn.
Starting point is 00:21:49 They had zero clue he was there. And now he's waving. The Celtics apparently won him. Dude, he was a lottery pick by the Kings a couple years ago. And people liked him because of win now, older rookie. Yeah. A lot of times it doesn't work out. But nevertheless, the Celtics won him and are showing interest inside him.
Starting point is 00:22:03 They are king. I can fix him. And I think they could fix someone like him. He's interesting player. He obviously doesn't have like the scoring and the spacing that's like worked out for him. as a guard, but like, I guess a lot of rebounds, creates turnovers, does all the mathematics stuff that they like now to win the possession battle. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:22:18 If they can get that shooting coach in a lap with him and he could shoot a requisite amount from the corner, I could definitely imagine that being the next, oh, Brad Stevens got one. And it makes sense because to have, to have another guard behind, because the Seltz's, they got Mike Connolly. And so my colleague's not. Dude, what the hell is he on the Celtics? I hate that. The Celtics got my comedy.
Starting point is 00:22:37 He's only got to play, but so many games. And so you should probably have, if you brought Mike Conley there for a guard depth, you should have some insurance to this old man, you know, running your third unit, whatever it is. But yeah, it wouldn't be a best sign. Devin Carter per 75 possessions, 95 percentile in rebounding for a guard, six and a half per 75, 2.4 steel charges, steel slash charges per 75, 87th percentile.
Starting point is 00:23:02 That's some Celtics shit right there. Yeah, he plays hard, right? He plays hard. And if he was on the Celtics, maybe not this upcoming season, but next year, I could see him definitely being a good like 15, maybe even 20 minute guy. That's probably a bit high, but I won't be shocked. I guess I won't be shocked at the Celtics final one. He was a lot.
Starting point is 00:23:20 There's something there. There's talent there. Yeah, yeah. And that's the right spot for him. Hopefully that works out for him. Chris Finch has said some words that I find interesting. There was a big report that came out by him talking about all things Timberwells. He talked about Lamello and the things he wants to bring in here.
Starting point is 00:23:34 He mentioned about Lamello's rim finishing not being what you'd want. He talked about coaching him in a way that gets him to be more of aggressive the rim score because he believes that normally Lamella looks too hard to pass when we gets a paint touch. A lot of good bits there you can guys go read from this article by Britt Robson. Interesting part we have. My approach with
Starting point is 00:23:51 or with Jaden or with all these guys is if we're going to take off the diapers, let's take the diapers off. Like it's your team now. Says Chris Finch on intentionally avoiding signing vets this year. They went out and they purposely said we're not going to go get veterans to replace Mike Connolly to replace Julius Randall. No more olds. We want you guys to be the veterans.
Starting point is 00:24:08 How do you guys feel about that approach, bringing in LaMello, who's obviously a very big personality. People have their speculations about what he brings to a team good and bad as a personality, neither here nor there. How do you guys feel about putting the onus on Ant and Jaden specifically to be the leaders of the culture? So I think there's two versions of it. I like both of them because I think that the first way to look at it is these guys are
Starting point is 00:24:31 like, there comes just like a random day where you look up and your young players are not your young players anymore. And it's like, oh, wow, you're actually. the vet here. And so I understand it from that aspect. The other aspect is, hey, we really don't have anybody else to do this. And so we do need you to take this level of responsibility and onus on the way that the team operates. And especially for the for the wolves whose depth has really, really been challenged over the last couple years, I think asking and asking Lamello, especially when you're trading the core pieces of your team and the core pieces of your former
Starting point is 00:25:09 identity to go get them. Yeah, I'm not, I'm not shipping off Nass Reed and salary dumping Julius Randall and all that just to get somebody to play a background role. I need you to be, you know, one of the guys on the team. So it, I like what Chris Finch is saying and it makes complete sense. Yeah, I agree. Time goes so fast as crazy, right? We're entering year seven of Anthony Edwards. And you think I'm going to sit down and prioritize, yo, I need some Vets to Coase these young guys up. What young guys? Yeah. You know, these guys are fairly young, of course, but they're pretty much entering or like in the dead of their middle of their prime right now at least athletically physically speaking or whatever you're saying and yeah that's that's crazy to say that's crazy
Starting point is 00:25:48 to say i think i got drafted when we were juniors in college that's mad bro we're old as fuck yeah that's mad and damn honestly too this kind of feels like a yeah everybody really need my colony anymore this is why he's on the celtics or anyway so i don't remember's too yeah we don't need that anymore we don't we don't need training wills we're old people we're good yeah ironically enough this is how i justified the celtics um trading mark is smart when they did. Yeah, the baby's got to grow up at some point, man.
Starting point is 00:26:11 Yeah. Yeah. Did they do it? I think they did. Yeah. I think ultimately it worked out. So. Will it work out for the Timbules? Um, we'll see.
Starting point is 00:26:20 We'll see. They don't got big zero. Yeah. Big zero. How'd grow up to be like, hard to grow up to be like big zero. The biggest. Is there a bigger zero?
Starting point is 00:26:31 Probably. Yes. All time. Westbill. Yes. No, like size was. Oh. Aaron Gorton's double zero?
Starting point is 00:26:38 Is that count? Nope. Okay, fuck it. There's no bigger zero. You're already here first. Kevin Love War's zero? Yeah, I know. You were literally the largest zero.
Starting point is 00:26:47 There's a larger zero. He's a bigger. Until we find a bigger zero. Okay. Next topic, another one that we've been talking about all summer and have not stopped. Jayland Dern wants a five-year contract from the Pistons, and it's considering taking the qualifying offer if Detroit doesn't meet his demands. We talked about this last week.
Starting point is 00:27:04 Donovan was in favor of him taking the qualifying offer. And I said, I will believe that shit when I see it because nobody's ever done it. Financially, no one's ever thought it was smart to take that risk. They've all poshured and said they'll do it and ended up taking whatever deal they got because it doesn't make sense to pass up on $100 million when you can tear your Achilles and lose it all. Apparently, he's feeling risky.
Starting point is 00:27:24 Do you fuck this is real? Is he really feeling that way or is it posturing? I don't think it's posturing. I think that it's real. I think that and like I said last time, this is the only way that he's going to be able to take steps to get what he actually wants, which is you're in this, in this position, you are in restrictive free agency. You're going to have to put things on, on the line to get the, to get the contract and to get the freedom and the choice that you feel like you deserve.
Starting point is 00:27:53 And if that means that much to you and if the disrespect from the pistons is that high, then this is the move. And I don't think that it's, it's posturing. I think that all, I think that all summer we've heard just how far the gap is between the Pistons and Dern. And the fact that whether regardless of what the reported number is that comes out, he wants more than that. They're like, sorry, but we're not giving you that money. This is going to be the only way for him to even have a chance to get the money that he feels like he deserves. So go out and if that's how you feel, go out and stand on it and do it.
Starting point is 00:28:29 But is it worth the risk of shing down having this. guaranteed money, which is obviously like way more than what you used to have or whatever. But is it worth risking that just to get, I don't know, five to seven more million dollars per year? Fuck no, which is why I think I believe it when I see it. I think this is posturing, them trying to get a trade or whatever, that it's all negotiation leverage. Again, I will believe it when I see it. I cannot say that enough times. Nobody has ever done this and I highly doubt he'll be the first.
Starting point is 00:28:57 Like next year, I wouldn't be surprised if, let's say he does to go ahead and do this shit. he goes into the season, brought to the same player, but because of PR and you know how things go in the NBA, he doesn't make the All-Star team. The pistons are like the four or five seed. And he goes out the exact same way and doesn't really improve on a lot of those weaknesses.
Starting point is 00:29:16 You lost money. You're not worth the player. The same dollar sign that you had last year is not the same dollar sign that you will have going forward. Which is why it's risky. On one hand, though, if he does do this and he proves me shocked and does it, I won't be like mad at him.
Starting point is 00:29:28 I'll be like, okay, respect, I guess. You're betting on yourself. It's insane. but yeah i can be mad at you i guess if that's what you feel you you don't feel like that 120 million dollars or whatever they're offering you is that big of a deal because you feel like you're you believe in yourself to be better i won't call them stupid i'll call him so you brave yeah you're brave you're crazy you're more risk willing than i am but i i won't criticize it for real and to the playoff part the good thing for him is that the bar for playoff production is in hell yeah
Starting point is 00:29:58 which is why we're here yeah but like you can't play as bad as he did in the in the playoffs and so if he gets through the if he gets through through the year healthy i mean the last year he averaged 10 points 8.5 rebounds he shot 51% from from the field it we saw multiple times over and over and over again he was getting outrebound he was getting outmuscled which especially look looking at during you're like i'm man like what what else he got for me man yeah do you have anything else else to offer if he plays a little bit better if you get that to 1415 right if you can if you can if you can average a double double semi efficiently then then we're talking about getting you the money that you want and I didn't I don't
Starting point is 00:30:40 think that that doing that is a big ass when you came into this year and you finished the year averaging 20 and 10 so it's it's on the table yeah and we'll see just again just how risk willing he is last new story of the day uh Colin cowherd had Sophie cutting him on his podcast and he called her to her face the sex symbol of the WMBA. It's crazy. Which was hilarious and crazy as fuck for many reasons that we will not get into today. Obviously, some people were upset by this for different reasons, right? Whatever.
Starting point is 00:31:10 At no suit for George on Twitter tweets, Hey, Colin Cowherd, who was the MNBA sex symbol? Asking you're comfortable sharing who you think the WMBA sex symbol is. And of course, Civil War went down in the comments, people from both sides of him for this. Again, whatever, not here to comment on this tweet. I see this. I respond.
Starting point is 00:31:28 I can put down a 90-minute episode telling you exactly who it is right now. Well, you've been waiting for something to ask. I can't fucking wait to talk about this topic. We got to make this episode exactly 90 minutes just off the snowmove. They're like, oh my God, they really talked about it. Fuck the new main topic. Unfortunately, I know the answer at 90 seconds before we can get to that.
Starting point is 00:31:47 But I'm wondering who you guys think, because if you look in the comments of this, our whole audience, a bunch of people, a hundred responses of people telling me who they think the right answer is for the sex symbol of the NBA. it kind of just devolved into everybody saying the Romani crush it was no objectivity who were like Andrew Nemhard all the different things
Starting point is 00:32:05 Nemard is like a good look of dude but yeah yeah he don't have like the lore don't sleep don't sleep I don't sleep I'm like
Starting point is 00:32:13 I'm like yo look at his eyes I'm like oh my god dreamy tough yeah like it's multi-colored yeah it's multi-colored it's crazy
Starting point is 00:32:22 I'm looking in comments I see Caleb Wilson is my section bull I'm seeing all this stuff I know to you're an obvious answer I'm wondering who you
Starting point is 00:32:27 guys think it is? I think there's legitimately like only one answer. There's one for me. I don't know if we're on the same page though. I don't think we might not be. I think the clear answer should be Shea. Oh, nope, you're wrong.
Starting point is 00:32:40 Because no, I'm not. You're wrong as well. No, because he's. I'll just line them up. He's legitimately, when it comes to just being good or whatever and having like a montage, people like glorify you for other things other than your looks, he has that obviously. When it comes to, of course, like the whole skims thing and all that, like, he
Starting point is 00:32:57 he's viewed and like he has his flowers when it comes to being beautiful outside of the NBA world. When it comes to obviously the looks, I mean, it goes to say for itself, bro, like he has all the plays and all that. Yeah. I mean, do I even have to talk? Yeah. Two words. So this is, in, in shade defense, this is a compelling argument. Sure, fair.
Starting point is 00:33:23 Two words. He's not playing fair this year. you agree? Two words. Fuck that hole for me five. Two words, send a video. Everything about him, good or bad, is linked to sex. It is so clearly Anthony Edwards.
Starting point is 00:33:40 You cannot think about Anthony Edwards as NBA fans and not have some idea of provocative nature in there. Dude, people on Twitter were saying he's not playing fair this year because he got a haircut. They're in love with him. The negative side of that, clearly he's very, very linked to sex.
Starting point is 00:33:55 There's no competition to me. I think in any sport, he's the clear-cutting one. I mean, if that's a criteria, let me bring up one big Z. I, whenever I think about it. No. He has the negative side, but he's on the positive side. Yeah, yeah, yeah. There's no, there's no fuck that hole for me Z.
Starting point is 00:34:10 No, I'm saying that. He can't see that. We don't want him to do that shit, bro. It's all right. We can't even want it to. But people are still saying it. But Zahn is sloppy with anybody inside the house. And it's not.
Starting point is 00:34:23 Never mind. I'm going to get off the real. But now, I don't think. I think, yes, like, that implies that it has to do with Athe A word in his world. But no one is looking at him and be like, yo, like, you're conventionally like attractive. What? That's the whole definition of it. Okay. He's not playing fair to here.
Starting point is 00:34:38 He's not playing fair to here. No one looks at a legit sex symbol outside of the NBA world. That's what I'm saying. I'm going to talk to right there. Because people, people do say that about about it. I think that the bigger conversation here is whether or not the- Get that shit out of my face, right?
Starting point is 00:34:58 He's showing me the picture. So I think, so for Shay to have the, for Shay to have the skims at and for Aunt to have, for Aunt not to have that. Now we're in a, now we're in a battle
Starting point is 00:35:12 of like, what is true sexiness? Like, do you, do you even have to be revealing to be sexy? Because Aunt doesn't really, like,
Starting point is 00:35:18 Ant's not out here modeling. He's not trying to be sexy. In underwear. Which is what makes him fair. And that's what I'm saying. Is it sexier to not even, try to be sexy, but people still think you are. Meanwhile, on the other side,
Starting point is 00:35:30 you see Shay on Instagram, we just broke down his IG caption. His public persona is very, very calculated. Sex forward. For Shea? I'm just kidding. But like, it's very, it's very calculated.
Starting point is 00:35:43 It's a very curated, you know, showing of his life. Does that, does that take away or add to the- It takes away because it makes, sexiness is also like imagery. in my head, bro. Yeah, like, when it comes to Anthony Edwards,
Starting point is 00:35:59 I know imagery, he's telling you what the fuck he's doing or people exposing him about what the fuck he's doing. But it comes to Shane, no, he's not doing all that at all. He makes you imagine? Yes. Yes. Oh, Jesus. You also keep in mind that Shay has the side that hates him.
Starting point is 00:36:15 Aunt is like in terms of his like aura to it all and like his likability and the sex symbolness. Unanimous approval rating. People like the nonchalantness. They like the casualness. This is just him. That he's not performative. they think she is performative.
Starting point is 00:36:26 They think that takes away from the symbol of factor of it. And it's just, and people just have magnitude to him. They're just drawn towards them. Somebody replied and said, him in the request responses with the gift of Jalen Duren.
Starting point is 00:36:38 I said, maybe if he didn't have the playoff sneak on him, you can't be a male sex symbol when people associate you with being physically overmatched. Yeah, he's just bad. Yeah. It was simply bad.
Starting point is 00:36:47 Yeah. And someone said, fair, but he is fine shit. I understand the argument for Anthony Edwards, but I think it's more of like a, it's just like a more NBA centered thing and not like, okay, take yourself out of the basketball world and grab the average person and tell them all the things you know about these two people.
Starting point is 00:37:09 They're going to lean towards Jay. I actually don't know. I actually don't know because I do think that they're, and again, this is, this is, goes a little bit. But like the fact that the way that Shea presents himself, I think that there is a category of people that will remove themselves from the situation and that they would gravitate towards Ant's persona a little bit more.
Starting point is 00:37:36 Okay, but, okay, take that away. Who looks better? I'm not. I'm not. I don't know. If you were to have one of these players swag for a whole year, their whole warder whatever hairstyle and all that don't frame it that way don't try to make it
Starting point is 00:37:52 straight who looks better yeah that's what I'm saying who's better don't know if you would rather be in who it looks better actually don't know you're fucking lying I know I actually don't know I actually don't know nah bad right which is why I do think that it's about it's core I think I think it's a fair conversation I think it's a it's a good debate but I don't even know what we're fucking talking this is B-soul's conversation oh yeah they were in the comments saying kinky souls have been summoned Exactly. This is your segment. That's what I'm saying.
Starting point is 00:38:22 What's the answer? Freaky Z. If you think of, when you think of and the NBA, it is Freaky Z. BBL Demon Z. Whenever we talk about this topic
Starting point is 00:38:34 and the NBA, one name comes to mind. No, man. See, I think Z's too similar to Anthony Edwards in terms of yeah, you're just out here, but you just be saying shit. No one really actually thinks
Starting point is 00:38:43 you're actually attractive like that, is the freak of Freak of Freakie while having the allure of Shay. If we're talking about, No, there's just one tweet that say he's not playing fair this year for no fucking reason. That's the, that hole for me five took off. Think about that sentence. People are saying fuck that hole for me five.
Starting point is 00:38:59 That's crazy cuckoldry because he's that much of a sex symbol. Yeah. And to Big Z's point, it's the same thing with with like Jane, with Jalen Duren. You can't be the sex symbol when we associate you with degeneracy. Right. Correct. Like if. You can't be a, you can't be.
Starting point is 00:39:19 sloppy. Yeah. And the fact that we've seen Zion out here get put on on blast by some of his endeavors, that's not something that people are are really, really like clamoring for. And that is why it is aunt, because he has so much allure to him that he's not associated with sloppiness like you're saying. Because he should be. He is Zion. They're the same. And what we've heard about them, they're not that different. Zion gets slander for it. So you're saying that the, that the perseverance is proof. Yes. That he is. He has the Shay strength. that make up for the Zion strengths so we ignore the Zion strengths.
Starting point is 00:39:52 When the Zion strengths are really weaknesses, he is able to bring the magnitude of both. He is an anomaly in this conversation. Hold on. Scaling back a little bit. Who? Fuck that hole for me if I. Where did that come from?
Starting point is 00:40:02 It came from what you think. What you think were. Let's circle back. No, no, no, no. That came from a fucking destroy lonely, bro. He's one who said that shit. About it.
Starting point is 00:40:11 Like, you know, not about ant. No, it's not about ant. Maybe I don't know the origin. Yes, exactly. But he took it to ant. Yeah, exactly. So that's not about aunt. really that's just them saying oh number five they're not saying fuck the hole for me zero
Starting point is 00:40:22 or two they never said that because that's i'm saying they brought to aunt bro they brought it to aunt only because it was convenient it was funny you know that's all because his numbers five he exactly but it's not five anymore so doesn't even count mm mo's spotting right now i don't think so nevertheless they brought to him they could have brought to a lot of people if we if we went to nobody saying that about jaden daniels he's five If we went to like 50 New York magazine model companies or whatever, they're taking shade all day over someone. Because he wants to be there.
Starting point is 00:40:54 And it's going to say, get off my phone. Come on now. You're leaning a little bit more into this like conventional. Like high fashion. Yeah. High fashion. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:41:05 That's what a sex symbol is. No. No, it's not. No, it's not. No, it's not. It's not just that. Sex symbol is essentially like face of the league. We can be like, oh, he's, he's that person, he's that person.
Starting point is 00:41:18 Really, it happens organically in the, and it is the people's champ for sexiness. A sex symbol is a famous person, athlete or singer, whatever, who's widely considered by the public to be sexually attractive. Yeah, that isn't negate anything he just said. And we're talking about the sex symbol of the NBA as if it's a crown to be one. They're both sex symbols to some degree. But who has the belt right now? Yeah. And I would, I would say, we should have expected this from Mr. Shundies.
Starting point is 00:41:43 exactly again you're building up my case right now no one never thought you're the first person my fucking human history to think to put Shaggill was Alexander's face on a pair of underwear when I was glazing before the fucking MVP okay so can I been day one when it comes to the station can I make this argument especially especially because the conversation that we are having
Starting point is 00:42:05 is very much an online conversation yes we can take it off on can you be Can you be because one of the things that you pointed to was the skims at Can you be the sex symbol when that skims at is the basis of people saying we outmeeted you Hmm, they never got outmitted we don't know that he's conciliate that's why We he's concealing it But if you have been publicly outmeeting then I don't think that you can have the belt of
Starting point is 00:42:35 Sex symbol I don't I don't think that that is there which is why I'm going back So I will say it because I do think that the fact that the fact The fact that he is not overly, you know, showing his body overly revealing, but people are still clamoring. He lost a meat war. Yeah. And then what the fuck happens when we see fucking fruit of loom throw 80 Edwards $20 million. We see no print too again. Now what?
Starting point is 00:43:02 And fucking fruit of loom too. You mad regular. The combo's got on too long. I'm just saying. The combo's extended for too long. They're just hypotheticals, man. She put us up. Time out of even it's insane.
Starting point is 00:43:13 And one of the ants be the little. Mind you. We still have 75 minutes to go to get to that. Oh, shit. Oh, so big guy, are you voting your hands, well? I think I'm running it. Two ads on Big Z and one, Shea. Let us know.
Starting point is 00:43:31 Big Z is so disgusting, prep. He didn't mention zero. It's crazy. He knows what's up. No, yeah. No appeal. Yeah. I really do want to bring him up.
Starting point is 00:43:40 just know how the conversation is going to go. It's not going to be productive. He's handsome, but he's not a sex symbol. Yeah, I just don't think he's known for like being freaky enough. Yeah, not even just freaky enough. He just not, he doesn't have the allure. He's too quiet and like just not. It isn't the personality for it. You got to have the charisma as well. Yes. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, some people don't like him because of it. His charisma was the wrong. Like nonchalom, bro. Even like postgame interviews, shut up, shut up, shut up, shut up to his teammates. And what's his name Jay Will be like, ooh, like that meme.
Starting point is 00:44:06 Tainble don't have that shit at all. I got him going. Yeah. Fax, bro. He likes an asshole. He likes him flirt with fucking. We need top five, though. We need a top five. Okay, first team, all sex symbol. Aunt Shea, I guess, Freaky's E. Who rounds it out? Tatum.
Starting point is 00:44:18 No. I could entertain it. Yeah, he's just not like, you know, he doesn't have a strong case for one, but he's still a candidate. Yeah. When he was young, I remember there's a lot of on social media people saying
Starting point is 00:44:27 Kyrie was extremely handsome. Yes. Age out of it. Kelly Uber has aged out of it. Kelly Uber was, he had the crown for a long time. I guess we can still go Dern at Center. Books, Lightskin,
Starting point is 00:44:36 and his dating a Kardashian. Is he on the first team? Kind of aging out of it, low key. Okay. I think this conversation, people throw you away when you're 26. It's like when a female actresses can't work anymore after they turn 30. That's how males in the NBA world treat. It's a DiCaprio situation.
Starting point is 00:44:53 Yeah, you're 25. You can't be here no more. Also, my tweet, when I said, I said, Ann, has like a year left. He's going to be replaced. People are going to replace him like Dylan Harper or some shit. Yeah. Because Anson turned 26 and they were like, I don't want to play with you anymore. Your face is getting too round.
Starting point is 00:45:05 Get out of here. Okay. Okay. I think we can put Dern at the center. Sure. Sure. Yeah. So we need a forward to round out the first team.
Starting point is 00:45:14 It could be Tatum, but I think we could open the doors. Come on, man. How do you feel about? Yeah. You could put no one for no reason, man. I thought you said we need a forward. Well, okay, so on the basis of a freakiness, the same way that Big Z is there, does Yannis get into this conversation?
Starting point is 00:45:30 No. Because he's very forward. He's freaky about his wife, though. He's, yeah. He's a wife guy. Yeah. Let me tell you. It's limited.
Starting point is 00:45:37 If we're having pretty conversations, there's no conversation. We're not having a conversation. conversation. Shut the fuck up. I'm going to say, that's not a question with yonis. Like that's not
Starting point is 00:45:47 what you're not. What have you seen? Don't tell him what you've seen. Oh my God. Oh my God. Oh, my God, man. The skinny Luke are getting into a combo. His hair is long.
Starting point is 00:46:01 He's skinny now. You got to, you know, the LA Globe. We can throw them a white boy representation on here. Sure, sure, sure. You can put Luke in there. I think you're not going to be a party. here. I said that too loud.
Starting point is 00:46:14 I wouldn't even. Come on. It's a bad. He said that too long. I don't know with Tatum on you. I'm giving him a mirror. You were excited. That's okay. Oh, man.
Starting point is 00:46:33 Oh, my God. You're killing. All right. Tatum gets his last spot. That's, funny. Shout out the off season. I love the off season.
Starting point is 00:46:45 The off season is fire, man. Imagine this segment had an underwear sponsor my skins. Yeah, that'll be so tough. Hey, man, it's almost on the clip. Have you ever bought anything from skims? That's all I'm saying, man. Let's build.
Starting point is 00:47:00 I have to. Oh, yeah, I have a, like, a long-sleeve shirt. They have solid, like, I think he's supposed to be around in the house, but, like, just wear it out. It's a nice, like, pretty well put together, long-sleeve. I have a great hoodie
Starting point is 00:47:10 from them. Mad comfy. Yeah, it's pretty good quality. Mad comfy. I got a white tea from them stuff. Oh, I sent it to Donovan last week. They have a vest that looks like his Walmart vest. Skims out? Yeah. All right. On to the main topic. Kim, let's build. That'd be the funniest. That would be
Starting point is 00:47:30 hilarious. A presenting sponsor. Yeah. Skims. Big Skims logo behind Mozhead. Oh, my God. That would be hysterical. We do have a have placement for y'all, man. All right, on to the main topic of today's episode, 50 minutes in because we spent 20 talking about the sex symbol of the NBA. We are going to do a draft of the best single game performances of the 2020s. No modifiers on that.
Starting point is 00:47:54 It can be playoffs. It can be regular season. It can be big scoring outbursts. It can be impressive. For whatever reason you want, we're all going to draft five. So I started off first pick, then Mo, then Donovan, then Beasols. By the end, you guys let us know who you think has the best team of performances. I will start off by going with what I think is.
Starting point is 00:48:10 The obvious number one. Yonis, game 6, 2021 finals close out. 50 points. Game winning block. Game winning lob. Did the whole thing. Esch himself into history, winning his first championship after winning two MVP's, got the monkey off his back of the haters saying you can never win in the finals.
Starting point is 00:48:25 Did it in truly dominant fashion with 50 points off of an injured knee when he was the 100% and he's still moving different. He hyper-extended the fuck out of that. I remember that. And you could not tell. He rose to the occasion, insane clutch factor against a good-ass team, too, that we forget about them in history, but that was against comp. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:48:42 And the two-way impacts, I haven't, I don't even know there's a close second. Yeah, okay. That was my pick, obviously. I think he is the best player here by, maybe not by far on those lists, by, like, a good amount. I don't know about best player,
Starting point is 00:48:55 I think he's the best player. Best performance. Oh, I see what you're saying. I see what you're saying. Yeah, that peak Janus, I think he's kind of gotten overshadow because Yokic became like the best offensive player ever in 2022 allward.
Starting point is 00:49:06 Peak Yonis is just as good as peak Yokch. Like that version of Yonis, when he was still an elite defender, could still move as good as he could, getting off the ground for dunks. Now he's a little more layup focus, as he's told us. That version is just as good
Starting point is 00:49:16 as anybody's peak in the league. Okay, fair. Is that the best peak since pick LeBron? Maybe. It's in the combo. Yeah, definitely in the combo. Definitely. You know what you'll put Kurt on there before him?
Starting point is 00:49:26 That's obviously fair, but like Janus is in those combos. Yeah, I agree. I'm happy you said that because my first pick, he may not be the best. There's definitely like arguments, but I think someone who's shocked me the most is that 2022 NBA finals appearance
Starting point is 00:49:42 Steph Curry specifically game four he put up like 42 and 10 I don't know if that was the game where he said I'm not sure if that was a game where he said I think it was game like two games after that yeah it was interesting so you're on game four that one's a combo is that better than the closeout game he scored a little bit more
Starting point is 00:49:59 yeah he's 42 and 10 is 10 rebounds specifically it's kind of crazy but overall like listen he was special that entire series but this game specifically the type of shots that he was making. You can really say that about any Curry season or fucking game. But to me, that was, like, defining on who he is as a standalone player and not whatever else is going on around it because the roster was for the first time of his career
Starting point is 00:50:21 pretty much like lackluster. Yeah. And this one, I think game four is better than game six just because game six got out of hand in the third quarter because it was like the whole team had went on this crazy like 20 to nothing run. And game four, they needed every single shot. that stuff was hitting down the stretch. They needed him to be clutch.
Starting point is 00:50:42 And he just kept doing it over and over and over again. So I do think that game four is better than game six. Is there an argument for that should have been over Yanis's game? I don't think so. I think it's a different level of dominance. I think, yeah, I think 50. And I think the fact that Janus is a bad frito shooter. And for him to lock in and go 16 of 16 from the frito line is different.
Starting point is 00:51:06 Underrated element. Like that is like, like, Not even just impressive, like a vast statistical unlikelyhood. And for that to happen that like, you can't call it luck because it's free throws. Like he just locked the hell in. He also had five blocks that. Oh my gosh. It says a side note.
Starting point is 00:51:23 Yes. Yeah. What's wrong with him? Loki. Yeah, bro. That was his moment. Game winning block and game wing lock. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:51:33 What the hell? Ah, he went 17 to 19 for the free throw line. Not 16 for 16. All right I think you had like 15 or a Or something crazy like that Yeah maybe start off 60s That must have been like yeah
Starting point is 00:51:42 Yeah You're trying to see where I want to go now My first pick You got big shoes to follow up We pick the championship Defining ones I don't know if there's any other Individual games
Starting point is 00:51:52 To win a championship That are on this level To win a championship There is There's So there's two That I really really want to get So I'm just get my favorite
Starting point is 00:52:02 And I am going to get Bruns in Game 5 This past this past year. Okay. I think 45 on the road, in a close-out game and hitting all of the tough shots and carrying the offense, him and OG hitting tough shots down the stretch. But I suing Wemby towards the end, just consistently knocking down shots over and over and
Starting point is 00:52:25 over again. And to have his best game of the series to win the title, I think Brunson is definitely has to be on this list and should be in the top 15 minimum. Yeah, for sure. I definitely had them on my list when it comes to guys who should be, like, mentioned. I knew there was zero chance to be getting them because I knew what she was going to do regardless. But Fares, yeah, that makes sense. He had every single clutch shot.
Starting point is 00:52:50 To be that clutch consistently, not even, like, honestly this year, but throughout his pretty much entire playoff career up to this point, it's been ridiculous, bro. Yeah, there's like, if I wanted to, I could, there's four other Brunson games. Yeah. That are throughout this entire run. that have been absolutely insane. But I think that this one shines above it all, especially as one of these, like,
Starting point is 00:53:13 championship defining ones. Yeah. Okay. For my first pick, I'm going to bam 83. No way. Wilts, Bam, Kobe. And the Bam before the Kobe.
Starting point is 00:53:27 That's what I'm saying. In terms of like historical significance, I mean, pretty significant. I don't know. I understand it's very controversial. That's a part of the Lord. There's three teams on here, or three players I've been selected, that won a championship off a crazy game. There's one 80-point game on this list.
Starting point is 00:53:44 Can you stand out like a motherfucker? Thanks. That's all I got to put down, Bam-83. And how can we argue with it? Could we say they played the worst team in the league? I guess. Could we say they weren't trying? I guess.
Starting point is 00:53:56 Could we say the end of the game was nonsense and they were purposely farming it and kind of disrespecting the game? I guess. Could we say it took overtime? I guess. Could we say all these things? I guess. But Bam-83. But will we?
Starting point is 00:54:07 No. Bam 83. Yeah. Facts. And it's on the table. Okay. Facts. My next one, Tatum 51, game seven.
Starting point is 00:54:17 I'm shocked that you went with that one. Yeah, I mean, I got some games that can pick from. But, you know, I think that game specifically coming off of game six where he was shitting the bed up until like the last three minutes. Yeah. And then to come home and drop 50 on the MVP's head. Man, glorious day. This is the game seven, right?
Starting point is 00:54:36 Yeah. Were you scared they're going to lose this series? Yeah, absolutely. Did you, or did you believe they were going to lose? I'm not going to lie. In that game six, I was legitimately like low-key off of Tatum. Like, that's how bad he was playing in that game six. You like, Dan, maybe I was wrong?
Starting point is 00:54:48 Yeah, I was like, man, I was revisiting a lot of convos in my head. That's the worst. Yeah, yeah. All of it. And then for him to bounce back in those last two minutes and go home, drop 51 on a bead's head. The week after Curry dropped 50 himself for the record. what an emotional roadcoaster you're like damn maybe my goat is a mouse never mind 50 points yeah must be nice that'd be like if just and herbert finally want to play
Starting point is 00:55:15 out game yeah yeah yeah beat the car I knew I was right the whole time yeah I'll never get that um all right so you went with so you had the first regular season pick in here do you think he uh are these overdrafted do you think he reached I think he reached for tatum 51 I think band 83 is probably okay yeah do I want to go playoff or regular season? That's a hard part is we can just go playoffs all day and just be naturally biased towards finals. I don't have to be.
Starting point is 00:55:45 My framing of this is like if I want to invite someone into being a hardcore NBA fan, here are the five games I'm showing you first of individual performances. Okay, that's fair. I think for me, Yokic 60-2020 is on here. And there's so many,
Starting point is 00:56:05 especially with Yokic there's so many just like crazy stat lines where you look up and you're like he did he did what he shot 80% from the field and had 40 like what was going on but to have me 30 20 20 20 or 60 he had he had some that sounds like a he had 60 2020 would be the greatest game of all time
Starting point is 00:56:24 he had to I was a hold on you it was 30 20 20 20 playoffs I'm sure you're 16 no no no it was a regular season game Luca had 60 2010 yeah okay Luca had 60 2010 and Yokch had 30 20 20-20. Yoakach had 56.
Starting point is 00:56:38 It was the 30-2020. I remembered it at 60 and I typed it in at 60 and then it said 30-20-20-20 and I just read it at 60. I was like, am I misremembering things? Because usually you remember things better than I do. 30-20-20-20. And then he had 56 and another crazy one. Either way. It is one of the greatest performances I've ever seen.
Starting point is 00:56:56 So you want 30-2020? Yeah. Okay. That was a 2025 playoffs. Yeah. Yeah. Because I think, I think, well, no, with those one in the regular. season as well. He did 30, 20, twice?
Starting point is 00:57:08 Yeah. Okay. Jesus. I'm not much to say. I know. Which again, it's like insane. Which are we talking about here? I know. I think every time I look at Yokic, it's just like we can go every, every two months and
Starting point is 00:57:21 whenever he's healthy. And that's one of the main reasons why I still have hope for the nuggets in this upcoming season is that you can say, hey, Yokic just wasn't, he just wasn't right. And they're going to come back healthy and he's going to be okay. but the things that he's able to do and the way that he's able to dominate and it's funny when you look back like three years ago or four years ago when the nuggets are starting to make their run and everyone's like you know if you want to stop yokits you really have to make him a score like you yeah i remember right you need to stop stop all the passes and then yoke's just like hey i can
Starting point is 00:57:55 i can do that too like i can put 40 on your head insanely efficiently as well so it doesn't really matter what you want to do. I'm going to get every single bucket, every single action that I want. And I think that all of these games are a perfect encapsulation of Yokic. And I'm right.
Starting point is 00:58:16 It was regular season. It was March 7th. I misremembered the playoff element. I don't know fucking why I thought that. 22 assists in that game, the most ever for a center. 22 assists. And it's just like, no,
Starting point is 00:58:27 yeah, nobody, nobody's ever played like him before. from that size to have the touch that he has inside, inside the paint, outside the paint with his three-point shot, his ability to go down into the post, his post moves. Like, he is as an offensive player,
Starting point is 00:58:44 just, again, like one of the best offensive players of all time. Yeah. Fair. Okay. For my second pick, I'm going to take Bubble AD. Specifically, just the whole bubble. No, specifically, it was game two of the, 2020, uh, watch the conference finals where he hit the game winning shot.
Starting point is 00:59:04 Oh yeah. I don't know if it was over Yokits or whatever, but obviously it was in that vicinity. And that game, he did have finished with 31 and 9. And for that whole series where he was ridiculous, but that game winning three was like the last memories that I've ever had with Anthony Davis with a consistent, reliable jump shot. And that felt like it was probably the most complete version of Anthony Davis that I've ever seen when it comes to like mentals while also still having a certain
Starting point is 00:59:30 out of skill there before he got overly big in the war and the lake which are like fuck that no more centers on the roster that's like peak A.T Davis in my mind when it comes all those things. Do you know how many times I've watched this clip with him running off that screen, out of balance play catching it, I think it was left wing shooting a pull up three. I've seen this clip
Starting point is 00:59:47 a hundred thousand times. He cannot do that shit no more row. It's been a long time. He couldn't even do it then. He just did that shit. He just pulled it out. He wasn't doing it on a regular basis. He was not. He just pulled that shit out his back. Even then like there was a I can't. It might have been either 2016 or 2017 where he had a game winner against the thunder where he had like double clutch to a three and the evolution in 80.
Starting point is 01:00:09 Oh, that was getting mad longer. The evolution in 80s game and how fluid he used to be, that was the inflection point of him having the best of both worlds of being as big and as strong as he is now and being able to do those types of things and have a solid shot. Yeah. And yeah, that was, I mean, everybody in the bubble got like a, you know, 5% boost on on their attributes, on the shooting attributes. He did the absolute most with it, though.
Starting point is 01:00:39 Yeah. Okay, next pick. I'm going to go to one of the regular season scoring outbursts. Oh, we've seen a lot of them, obviously. We have like, I don't know, like eight 60 point games. I think three, 70 point games to choose from. I'm going to go to the one that didn't feel forced that most felt like a man walking on water. I'm going to Luke at 7.3 versus the Hawks.
Starting point is 01:00:57 that is one of the most euphoric basketball games ever watched in my life that's one of the most despicable basketball games I've seen in my life bro because all the buckets are overly easy just fried nobody is saying in front of him he got to his spots it was partly regular season malaise easy I'm sure bad defense from a bad team
Starting point is 01:01:13 partly like they had no answers for this guy where he just like was so definitive in every decision the stepback threes were immediately decided the drive immediately decided there was no effort no pushback just got to his spots it looked like a guy playing against high That was on that run where everybody scored 70 and it's like, hey, the league is broken.
Starting point is 01:01:34 Yeah, he did this one and they were like, there's a problem because he made it so easy. Because it was his before or after Embedes? I can't remember exactly. Yeah, because it was the run. This is after Demich's though. I know that for sure. Because it was Demits, Dame, Embed, and Bid and Luca all had 70 in like an 18 month span. Luca was several days after Embed.
Starting point is 01:01:52 So it was real close. Yeah. So that whole week is the jump. ball point of where it's like amen we we have we have to do something what's going on here and you know I would go 70 point in beat here because that was also very special but there's one more game I'm gonna go the other way and go back to playoffs that I got to be first and y'all can have him beat if you'd like him Kevin Durant game five versus the bucks 2021 playoffs and I was hoping he made it back to no I'm going to loss
Starting point is 01:02:15 Kevin Durant scored 49 points 17 rebounds 10 assists three seals two blocks but it's goddamn fat ass foot was on the line so it didn't matter because his three-pointer became a two pointer and he didn't win this game on what should have been a clutch shot to send them home ended up losing the series legacy didn't go anywhere because of this wait wait no no they won game five he had the the 49 where are you talking about game seven or the 49 triple double because the 49 triple double happens in game five i completely conflate those two in my head just now yeah i know the whole the whole series especially after katie and kairie get get hurt the whole series kind of blends together but that game five yeah i forgot i conflated the two in my head the two memories so not the foot on
Starting point is 01:02:54 the line shit but game five he won the game with absolutely berserk 49 points okay there you go because i was about to like not score in overtime no no no forgot about like i conflated the two memories yeah yeah jibble and he still dropped 48 in game seven that's why i conflated him yeah yeah i should i go with that he's a guy man i don't know i mean they so they go up three two here i think that that game was like oh wow they're actually going to win this series yeah i'm trying to which one i want because i do think the pushing to overtime the game seven felt heroic. They didn't score in the final minutes and overtime. They lost a game.
Starting point is 01:03:25 But that game felt more heroic. I'll go with this one because it's a better stateline. I forgot he did this year twice. Two 48 players. After this game, people were calling him the best in the world. Oh yeah. And that was the most definitive that conversation has ever been. And then he lost and then Janus did what he did and that guy got taken from him
Starting point is 01:03:41 real fast real quick. Yeah. Yeah. And that's because on the box score James Harden. So Katie played all 48 minutes in game five. James Hardin played 46 minutes, have five points, one for 10 from the field. Also, he was dealing with the hamstring at this point. He was playing through it.
Starting point is 01:03:58 Joe Harris, 37 minutes, five points, two of 11 from the field. The two biggest contributors, Blake Griffin gave him 17. Jeff Green was 8 of 11, seven of eight from three had 27 points. Landry Shamit had nine points.
Starting point is 01:04:15 Dragging them, bro. Just pulling guys. Just dudes. Was that the year, was that the year of Marcus Lodgers on the team? or the next year. I think Lamarckis had gotten, he had the hearts of this year.
Starting point is 01:04:25 Oh, yeah, true, true. Just dragging guys through the playoffs, getting it out by himself. And that was the point, too, where we didn't consider KD a playmaker. We didn't consider KD. Or we had questions, especially, if post-Aquillies,
Starting point is 01:04:37 he'd be an elite defender. He did everything. Every single thing. That was most well-rounded of him. If he had done that for his whole career and playmate like that, rebunded like that, like, oh, that's just,
Starting point is 01:04:45 that's Braun. That's another one. A big guy that can do all those things and create for others and play defense and score and pass. ass and all these things. That would have, if he played that forever,
Starting point is 01:04:53 that he'd be an entirely different player in history. Grief. Yeah. Okay. For my next pick, had him on my list. We mentioned him earlier. Dolan Bied and him giving Victor Wiminyama,
Starting point is 01:05:06 again, rookie year, Victor Winnama. You gotta preface it. You don't. He gave him a 70. He gave him fucking belt, bro.
Starting point is 01:05:13 Unbelievable belt. Give him 70. And this is like one of the more entertaining 70s because it's not like he was like just hot from three or whatever. He took like one or two three this game. I don't think he hit any of them. It was straight bag works straight. Like, I'm bigger and you can't fuck with me, bro. And it was almost like reminiscent of a couple years back, not a couple, a lot of time back where I think it was Joel Embed in his rookie year, rookie year, quote, versus DeMarcus cousins. And DeMarcoons is like,
Starting point is 01:05:42 yeah, he's going to be the best league in the league soon, but I'm still here right now. It very felt like a moment where like, yeah, Joel Embed, you know, Yon was around and all that. But this is the year right after Joel Bede's MVP year where he was like, yeah, like, you can call him the best big in the league and no one's going to be incredibly mad at you. Wembe is going to, run B. Albies has that crown now. But it just feels like a cool little moment, one last stamp of Joe and Bid like cementing his bark in NBA history. And now, of course, this was like along the run of everyone against 70 at that point in time. But what felt different about the 72 is that they look he needed the 70 because outside of it was him and Tyrese outside of that, They had Tobias Harris.
Starting point is 01:06:21 Nick Batoon was on this team. Tobias Harris was 0 for 5 from 3. They needed every single point just to barely win by 9. It was a great game. Yeah, that was one where, especially that whole first year of Wembe, every game was such a spectacle because we were like, okay, how is he going to perform? And they opened up the season. I think we're back-to-back games against Phoenix and KD.
Starting point is 01:06:42 And it's like, oh, my gosh. Like, he's going band for band with KD and you're trying to see how well he stacks up with everybody else. Yeah. And he could do it. something with KD, there's nothing that he could do with him beat. And that game two with him beat, he did play well. He had 33 points and seven boards. Yeah, he was a really good game. But Joe NB. was just, it was just different levels of this shit. My next pick, I'm going Jimmy Butler, scoring 56 points against the bucks, giving Drew
Starting point is 01:07:11 Holiday fits all night long. Yeah. 2023, he felt like LeBron. That was insane the whole run. It felt, yeah. I mean, he's taking, he's taking shots from, from everywhere. He's in transition taking double stepbacks. It doesn't make sense. And even like a lot of the shots that he was taking, you go back and you watch him.
Starting point is 01:07:38 And Drew's there. Like somebody has a hand in his face. Somebody's making a solid contest. It just doesn't matter because everything that he's putting up is going to go down. And that run of playoff Jimmy. and I have a couple of playoff Jimmy games that I want to I want to take but this one I feel like encapsulates it to the to the highest degree because of how much he was backpacking this team and there's like we've seen we've seen versions of him put teams on his back and it's very like all
Starting point is 01:08:07 around I was I always like gravitate towards like hey man I'm just go out here and get these buckets and that's what that's what he was doing that game so I had to have a playoff Jimmy moment. in my top five. Okay, fair. And that's probably the best one too. There's obviously many moments.
Starting point is 01:08:25 I can't think of any. I think about more than this, especially because they were down double digits in that game and came back. And that was a game where it's like, oh, he can do anything he wants in his life. Like, sure willpower, if you have a problem that needs to be solved,
Starting point is 01:08:37 ask Jimmy Butler how to do it. And he'll give you a two-step solution that if you work hard enough, you will succeed in. Yeah. Believe you can do it, do it. And that's it. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:08:47 Like that run felt more. pure grit and belief than even 2020 did. And that's the one where he was scruffy, wasn't shaving. Hobbled over on this. Hobled over. Putting his head down like that. 2023 felt even more hard work. Yeah, I didn't, I didn't know which one to, for the first pick,
Starting point is 01:09:04 I didn't know which one to go with whether it would be this one or the, I think it was game four in the 2020 finals. I think this one was just, the electricity also of having fans around you. And every single shot that he's making, you hear the crowd pop. that was also different than the bubble obviously. Definitely. Okay. My next one, I'm honestly thinking about a Wembe game here.
Starting point is 01:09:27 Low-key sleeper pick game one last year of just versus the maps. Like the regular season. Oh, damn. Yeah. I'm thinking about that one or game one against the Thunder where he dropped 40, 20. I think those two games in general. I'm going to just pick the one in the playoffs because it mattered more. And Christmas, too.
Starting point is 01:09:46 Was that two years ago or last year? Two years ago. do a Christmas against the Knicks. Yeah, what would he drop? I don't know. I think 43. He dropped 40. 40 exactly.
Starting point is 01:09:55 But it was the first one of those games where it's like always here. Yeah. It's just like any one of these like Wemby, his jump shots are falling 40 point games where he's still like an insane shot blocker getting like 20 rebounds. Like those games are just like, yeah. When Wembe's on it, he is the best player of all time. And you can't really say much about it for real for real, when he's on it. When he's not, I mean, that's a different conversation. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:10:18 He definitely has some of the highest flashes you've ever seen right now. Yeah, his highs are just so high. So which one are you going with? I'm going in the playoffs. Game one versus the Thunder. Damn it, that's the right pick. I was going to pick that next. If it fell back to me.
Starting point is 01:10:29 That was the game where I'm like, oh, so this is the best player in the world. And he has that title. I think he said that on the show. Yeah. He just took the best player in the world title and he's not giving it back for 10 years. That definitively felt like that moment in his career.
Starting point is 01:10:40 That it didn't work out in the finals. So I guess we get a debate still who has a title for real. Now the finals is over. but like maybe by midseason we're like oh not really he still is that still was best player in the world chain and he still is that guy whether he wins or not in any given year it's the era of parody you know but this is the guy to be in topple yeah and then um my next shot too sorry cut you off no yeah that pull up three yeah that's yeah the biggest like no no no oh yeah didn't he block a shot right before that was that the same play he did that many times i can remember if that one was i felt like i remember him blocking a shot coming back pulling a three like it's something like something like like that Either way, you'd expect that, given the two-way impact. But the fact that he was doing that type of stuff is dominating both ends. On the road in game one. On the road.
Starting point is 01:11:21 I guess the team that we can't forget how dominant the Thunder were. And Jada played that game, so we still kind of felt like they had the necessary, you know, or did J. J.O. play the game? He played some game in that series. I don't remember if it was one or two. Nevertheless, we weren't at the point yet where they were so injured. I know A.J. Mitchell played that game. We still felt like the Thunder should win that series and should win the finals.
Starting point is 01:11:39 You just completely stomped their hearts out. Yeah. That's crazy. I was at a bar of D.C. during that game. Electric. That was supposed to be a dynasty. That was supposed to be a dynasty.
Starting point is 01:11:49 And still could be, but like you took away back to back from them. He killed it. My goodness, man. Yeah. All right. And then our next pick. Take another Tatum game, man. Tatum, game six, 2246 versus the bucks on the road.
Starting point is 01:12:02 The shot making. Dude, whenever I watched the highlights from that game, bro, every shot is a swish. Like, it truly doesn't even touch for him. That shit is just crazy. going on the road facing elimination. Yeah, man.
Starting point is 01:12:16 Special performance for my God, man. You're, listen, you're lucky you picked that right there because I was going to be my next pick. Yeah. Really? Yeah. Tell me about that one. I don't really remember that one very well.
Starting point is 01:12:24 I think they were down three, two, in the series. And that series specifically, it was like, it's crazy that they were even in that position because Middleton was out for that series. And so Janus is out here playing the best. I think that that series of Yonis, I think is the best that he's ever played because of the caring that he had to do.
Starting point is 01:12:43 Yeah. And for them to be up three to have a chance to close it and Tatum is just hitting step back after step back, closing out the game and gets it to a game seven where Grant Williams goes crazy, hits the seven threes, you know, gets them over the finish line. But that was one of those moments where I was very much a Tatum fan in that moment because him doing that was like,
Starting point is 01:13:09 you have all the pieces. and now this is going to be like your stepping stone to go to go you know move forward and become one of these like you know solidify top three guys and it felt like a coming out party because you're taking down yannis on the other side you have step kuri and the words who are obviously very very good but the seltics and their defense was awesome like it felt like the like the seas were parting for the sotics to get a title yeah fair is salute now where are you going to go with your next big feels weird not having a step moment on on my list um well but it doesn't have too many in the 2020 i know slim pickings
Starting point is 01:13:51 unless you want to pick another game in the finals well no there's there's two that I can pick there's another one there's a few you can pick for sure yeah it's just like I understand what you picked others before yeah um so I'm gonna go with the game that I feel like also felt like this like wild coming out party
Starting point is 01:14:08 Luca in the bubble game four against the Clippers. Oh my God. Yes. Hitting a step back game winning three on the Black Lives Matter. Yes. Was it over Zubach?
Starting point is 01:14:19 It was over Reggie Jackson. Okay, okay. I thought it was PG. The shot's always over the big. Yeah, they're always over the big. Yeah. It was a switch. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:14:29 But that was one of those, one of those games where Luca is, Luca's on. He's, he's controlling the, the pace of the game with his, with his playmaking. He's getting any shot that he wants. And even with Kauai and PG, and especially at that time in 2020, they're both still in their primes,
Starting point is 01:14:49 you're looking at a team that has two of the best wing defenders in the league and just saying there's nothing that you can do to stop me. And that was the entire strength of the clippers and this idea that like, oh, we can go up against Giannis and we can go up against Brown because we have these two guys to throw out them. Hey, it doesn't matter because Lucas is going to score at well at ease. to hit. I think that,
Starting point is 01:15:14 I think that shot also, it might have been a double bank for Mike Breinas as well. Rare. Rare. But for that, for that team to be there, Porzingis was just,
Starting point is 01:15:26 you know, around in the, in the ether. Like, it wasn't, it wasn't as, he did exist. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:15:31 But it wasn't as much of this super duo that you thought that it was going to be. And Luca is putting everybody on his back. That was, that moment,
Starting point is 01:15:42 And that game was something for me where I saw it and just, like, knew, like, yeah, Lucas, Lucas is going to be here for 15 years doing this to everybody. Yeah. Okay. I think the bubble was Pete. It was. Yeah. I think I remember specifically after that to everyone was saying, oh, Lucas racist after
Starting point is 01:16:00 he hit him on the back line bad. I think was hilarious. For my next pick, I think I got to get Tyrese Hallibor in here, man. specifically game one of the what was it the Eastern Commonwealth finals can never be me against the next yeah yeah against the next but yes I remember correctly
Starting point is 01:16:21 he led the comeback well you guys were like up by like pretty much 15 and with five minutes little less than five minutes to go yeah it was a lot yeah it was like yeah like four minutes and 30 seconds it was like a 16 point league Jesus Christ
Starting point is 01:16:36 Is it the one we watched at the bar yeah yes he was hit all those three yes it was Nis Smith hit a lot of head all those threes me smith hurt more than what really yes because because nismith was knee smith was coming off of off of screens yeah they refused to change any of their covers they refused to figure out a way to guard to guard the the pin down any any any uh any differently and even whenever they finally made an adjustment they finally got a body on knee smith he was falling down making threes yeah he was unstoppable yeah and then haliburne would his shot was more the
Starting point is 01:17:07 cherry on top exactly yeah to nismith going crazy crazy in the fore. Yeah, which is why ultimately we picked Halliburton. He was obviously orchestrating all those, all those passes and hidden needsmith off these, off these screens. But hitting that three-pointer, which it hit back rim pretty much. Skied for, it felt like a million miles in the air. And it ultimately, like, drop down and feeling, going back to those ones,
Starting point is 01:17:32 feeling the silence in the entire crowd. And it just going through the rim perfectly. and then him immediately just putting out the they choke they choked they choked peak moment sucks that it was a two so that choke wasn't the end of the game yeah exactly the order that would have happened if that was the last play of the game would have been amazing exactly he did it too early at least they won an overtime though yeah at least they won an overtime
Starting point is 01:17:53 I look he forgot um cat and brunson brunson dropped 43 and cat dropped 35 this game yeah Brunson's always whovin and it didn't matter yeah brunson is over who's right he will show up it's not his fault yep I'm gonna go with an emotional pick here one that I remember incredibly fondly from the bubble the entirety of Damien Lillard's run I remember with the most upmost rose tinted glasses from the bubble being such a big point of our lives with nothing else going on August comes around the world is still you're still
Starting point is 01:18:22 staying inside for the most part NBA comes back after all that time and Dame cannot miss a shot for two weeks I'll go with 61 points versus the Mavericks that was his highest point total in the bubble and I believe I get the memories mixed up because of all these games felt magical I think this is the one though where in the game he was just walking down pulling deep three after deep three after deep three late in the game and it just it felt like I was watching a different sport like the inevitability of these threes he was hitting the amount of times I went oh my god oh my god oh my god in a row it was nirvana yeah good pick love those games I know it's funny because this is the least consequential game he was fighting in the play in it was but it was an
Starting point is 01:19:03 amazing performance apparently with the most dangerous days seed of all time to people in the bubble. That's how dangerous he looked. They were saying people were saying they're going to upset the Lakers in the first round because Dane was looking that dangerous against the matter. It's never going to happen. Never going to happen. But it was a talking point because people had to figure to talk something to talk about.
Starting point is 01:19:19 I know Portland won game one. Did Dame like go crazy during game one? Do you remember it all? Do they win game one? Because I remember during that, that whole finals run from the Lakers. Everyone was like, ah, this is going to beat around. They'd get got. They'd lose game one and everyone would overreact.
Starting point is 01:19:32 They'd win like four straight. They lost a lot of game one. I don't remember exactly, but you're probably right. Yeah, you probably, he probably. I mean, if they beat them in game one, surely he went off. Yeah. I don't know if it was C.J. McCollum carrying him. Or maybe it was.
Starting point is 01:19:41 Maybe it was. Maybe it was. CJ was a guy, man. Oh, yeah, yeah. But I feel like, Dane probably took my heart out that night. So I remember. Last one, I'll go with another Luca moment. We'll go to Lucas 60 point triple double versus the Knicks.
Starting point is 01:19:54 It's a 60 point triple double. It's Luca Donchich. I love every time he goes off. We're putting him on here. Okay. Fares, fairs. He's 20 rebounds. Jesus Christ.
Starting point is 01:20:04 It's a point guard, by the way. Yeah, that's whatever. whatever it's true it was chill how'd you feel watching that game 22 just after Christmas I blinked out of my mind I don't remember The way y'all choked in the end of that game
Starting point is 01:20:17 60 points Was that the garden No it was at home in Dallas Okay I can't remember that element 60 points 20 rebounds on a point guard Holy shit He's 6, 7, he's that yeah It's big numbers
Starting point is 01:20:28 Yeah It's big numbers I like it I see big numbers like it I go burr I think my My last pick has to feel right. I'm going 2021, Tray Young. Specifically, it was game one of the Eastern Conference Finals.
Starting point is 01:20:47 He went into, what's Milwaukee's arena called? Ficer. Fiscer. Fisor form. Let that bitch on fucking five. He made Drew Hardy look like, Drew Holliday look like a fucking pipsqueak, though. He couldn't do shit against him. Specifically, he dropped four.
Starting point is 01:21:06 48, 7, and 11, bro. Hitting every floater imaginable, hitting every deep 3 E magical, hitting every pull-up because they pretty much dared him to shoot E-magil. We outperformed Yonis, bro. And Janus in that same game, too, he wasn't like, he wasn't anything special, special. He's average, like a cool, like 34, 18, 12, you know what I'm saying? That's it. Is that the game heard of me?
Starting point is 01:21:28 Nothing crazy? No, it wasn't the game that he heard of me. He was fully normal and healthy for that game, too. Which made you feel like even more Impressive because it's like wow, bro Like that was the year pretty much where All odds were against them that pole playoff run where For some reason the Knicks were favorite against us
Starting point is 01:21:44 And that's when the whole Ben Simmons thing happened I mean looking back at the Knicks roster too It was like pretty mid you know It was not like a massive It was less than mid Yeah exactly like they had Reggie Bullock miss Reliably needed him But yeah crazy right now
Starting point is 01:21:58 Going back to this morning Yeah like it's just the crowning achievement two islands for reggie bullet facts yeah you got one of the lilies too but this is like the crowning achievement for the alana hawks of this decade pretty much in the highest the highest bro i'm glad you have that you had drew holiday on fucking skates the entire time we got two games of people on this list sludding out drew holiday yeah that's what happens when you're one of the best defenders
Starting point is 01:22:25 yeah you take down a big target yeah satisfying yeah who's your next big Last pick. I could go this. I could go Brunson game four against the Sixers when he was going, he was going crazy, put the Knicks up 3-1. Wasn't that a blowout versus Sixers? I don't feel like any game was a blowout in the 24 series. Oh, 24.
Starting point is 01:22:50 I could go that. I could go Steph 50 against the Kings. I'm just saying all of my honorable mentions right now. I'm going to go Kauai. Game two versus the Nuggets a couple years ago when Kauai scored 39 he shot 80% from the field and He was it was just bucket after bucket after bucket and that game sticks out to me Because we did a whole career referendum On Kauai and like was Kauai actually better than KD this entire time? Yeah, did he get hurt like a few days later? Yeah like like oh no he got
Starting point is 01:23:28 They just lost the series. Oh yeah, that's one that went to seven they just lost yeah yeah yeah Yeah. And he wasn't, he wasn't on anything for the rest of the series. He was scoring like 20, 21. That was funny. Yeah, but it wasn't anything crazy. But in that, in that moment, and the day after and the two days after, it felt like, it felt like Kauai's entire career had been rewritten and that all of a sudden they were going to go on the trend. They were going to beat the nuggets in the first round. And now it's him, James Hardin. And they're, you know, it's them two against the world. They're doing all this stuff. and seeing Kauai at his best there are like him at his peak which is why we have these combos of one of the most impactful defenders all around especially wing defenders and then for somebody who was in a shooter to grow into the shooter and score that he is to get to any spot that he wants to rise up against anybody to have the control over the midterings like he does that that game was super special to to why.
Starting point is 01:24:30 and watching be as robotic and mechanical. Yeah. And like we make jokes also about like this era. Like, oh, Michael Jordan would be like DeMarden. It really felt like watching old Michael Jordan highlights of just, I'm going to get to this spot. I'm going to get to this spot. Fade away, fade away, fade away.
Starting point is 01:24:48 And there's nothing you can do about it. Fair. All right, Beasville. What's the last pick? My last pick is going to be the only loss on this list. But he was going too crazy. Dames 55. against Denver in 2021.
Starting point is 01:25:02 Very fair. Drop 12 threes, made awesome rivers pray to God. I remember that. Yeah. So I think that's all I need to say. Making somebody
Starting point is 01:25:11 that's a win at you. The Lord is pretty good. No, that's peak, bro. If you guys seek divine intervention, you deserve to be on this list. Yeah. Just 21 Dame in general is just like, yeah.
Starting point is 01:25:24 I think people forget about the conversations Dame was in. I think Dame and Luca are the most future players on this list, which is very fitting. Yeah. Or is there three dames? I don't know there's two.
Starting point is 01:25:34 No, just two for dame. Yeah, two d'am. Yeah, well, I wonder why. It's just you. For counting,
Starting point is 01:25:47 I mean. You're right. That does, that does put Tatum second place. No one can take that from you. Thanks. Which, if I was in drafting.
Starting point is 01:25:57 Makes sense for a lot of this where it's like, you know what? he is there you can't really say anything but he's there he's always winning always getting placements on the list fair just always there just looming never number one but like you know there yeah always winning and there you go those are our 20 favorites or most impressive performances of the 2020 so far anything else for bad they didn't make it what was what was the nastiest pick that you had on your list uh i don't think any of these picks are nasty for real no i'm saying
Starting point is 01:26:28 Just like on the... Okay, I'm guessing you're asking like, honorable mention. I did have one where I was like, it's kind of nasty. What would you say? There was a first round series game two against the Suns
Starting point is 01:26:40 where Brandon Ingram went nuts. Ingram? Brandon Ingram had 37 against the Suns and could not be stopped. And it felt like like the Pelicans had found their franchise guy. So that's best and nasty.
Starting point is 01:26:58 this one. All the other ones are like, a couple bubble games, stuff 50 against the Kings, all that. Shea, honestly, versus the Nuggets this past year. Yeah. That one game they had where he had a step back three to like clinch the
Starting point is 01:27:12 win. That was also on my list. In terms of honorable mentions, we're talking about nasty, man. Tatum 21 versus the Nets, you dropped 50 again. Is that the one? I was thinking, when's the one where he hit the spinning game winning shot? That was game one. That was game one, 22.
Starting point is 01:27:28 21 that was him Jalen Brown wasn't on the squad so it was him going up against the big three nets Yeah, because Brown hurt his wrist right? Yeah yeah yeah I always remember that spinning game when you were lay up for some reason that was so unique Hit a spinning game when you layup up to catch like I always think about that one because everyone was talking match you going into that game They took the crown after the the Blazers and 20 of like the deadliest eight seat of all time And then they got swept and then they took it afterwards and they're like it's the closest sweep of all time It's the most competitive sweep yeah Yeah. All right, that is our list.
Starting point is 01:27:59 On to the next thing. In an era in which Nike has almost single-handedly ruined NBA aesthetics and NBA jerseys. We have reached an all-time low. We are here today to react to the new NBA Specter jerseys and grade all eight of them on a scale of A through F. Okay. NBA Specter jerseys. I'm out of the loop, okay. This is a jersey that they are giving to the eight oldest teams in NBA history.
Starting point is 01:28:23 The most storied franchises, they're giving them a new jersey to wear this year. Bisseau, show us the first one. First one, the Lakers. Black jersey with some purple gradient of an L.A. And a tiny-ass Lakers in the middle with a Nike swoosh above it. I want to like this so bad. You guys know I'm an optimistic person, but I don't have an ounce in me for this shit right here.
Starting point is 01:28:46 What the fuck am I looking at? You want to like this so bad? I want to light this bitch on fire. This is the worst jersey I've ever seen. F, potentially the worst jersey in NBA history. Potency F. F. Worse in history, wow, man.
Starting point is 01:28:59 I'm speechless. This looks like 2010's middle school knockoff jersey with a bubble backpack like this. I can't put into words how much we've reached
Starting point is 01:29:09 an all-time low in sports jerseys as a whole in North America. This is an all-time low. This is absolute fucking nonsense in every way. This is crazy
Starting point is 01:29:19 because they're selling these jerseys. This actually makes me never want to buy another basketball jersey again. Look you to see. Right? Because I see it and it's like, is this what I look like with a basketball? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:29:32 I don't think I want to do this anymore. Look, unsurious, bro. What the hell are we talking about? Yeah. The whole foundation of this jersey of having this design that's like gradient and just like there's noise on it. It's like a cool design for a shirt. For a jersey, it's fucking ridiculous.
Starting point is 01:29:47 And that's before getting into the tiny ass logo with a Nike swoosh above it, it is incomprehensible. Yeah, the whole collection itself outside of the jersey. is actually fine. Yeah, I'm sure it was great hoodies. Yeah, yeah. But the jerseys? Yes.
Starting point is 01:30:00 Yes. Exactly. This cannot be a jersey at all, bro. F. Worst jersey of all time. If there was ever an argument to dismantle the way that we do business around the world, it would be this jersey. This is late stage capitalism at its finest.
Starting point is 01:30:17 And that's not, it actually is, though, by the fact that we feel need to continue to make more jerseys to sell more. That is the problem. Yeah. This is awful. Okay. Well, there's another one. It's the Nix. You guys.
Starting point is 01:30:29 New York Nix. This time, the noisy background with the gradient is the NICS NYK logo. Okay, this is a little bit better. F, potentially the worst jersey of all time. My eyes hurt. Really? I think it's better than the Lakers. It's also some shit, obviously.
Starting point is 01:30:42 Me too. I agree. F, potentially the worst jersey of all time. Potentially. Okay, keyword. Yeah, man. We're going to embarrass ourselves whenever we wear this. You're a walking x-ray scan.
Starting point is 01:30:54 Look at dumb as shit. And it doesn't make sense. You are trying to honor all of these teams that have been in the league for so long. And you say, go look like a clown for 48 minutes a night. This sucks. Let me ask, just to pause here a little bit. Out of all the major sports, what would y'all say is like the worst one that looks? Which one looks the worst off the court?
Starting point is 01:31:18 Basketball now. They ruined themselves. Oh, for sure. It should be the best. But they put themselves position to be the worst. They're the lowest lows. Would you say before this it was it was still back I would say it's been basketball for a minute now
Starting point is 01:31:27 So basketball basketball is in a weird spot Because the jerseys are sleeveless And so you so like a majority of time Like if you're just wearing a sleeveless jersey Hey man what like a lot of times? Yeah a lot of times what are we doing here? In general it's harder to get off for sure Yeah yeah but so like the other ones have sleeves
Starting point is 01:31:47 Football jersees are kind of tough to get off too though Because they're always pretty big Yeah, baggy The basketball is taking they've taken the baseball and hockey lend themselves to fashion the best
Starting point is 01:31:56 yeah so my second part question is like how would y'all kind of modify a jersey I know we're not like Nike designers but how would y'all modify a jersey to make it? Burn all this shit no free game no free game yeah
Starting point is 01:32:06 you gotta stop doing stupid shit and be traditional embrace tradition reject modernity that's what I would do stop letting 12 years old and through the office man's does retro max that and the NFL is doing
Starting point is 01:32:16 their version of city jerseys now with the robbery jerseys you get a new one every four years right now because they're just starting it two divisions get it every year and they're going to cycle through so because it's two divisions a year basically every four years
Starting point is 01:32:27 every team gets a new one that's perfect the NBA ran through all their good ideas because they did like eight uninterrupted years of new city jerseys and now the past few years they're just running back past ones because teams cannot continue
Starting point is 01:32:37 to pump out jerseys and have any good ideas left they might go 20 years now with no more good ideas because we burnt through 600 jerseys in five years and on top of that like the way that people have brought
Starting point is 01:32:48 like in the NFL you see a lot of teams going back to their other rituals on top of the city jersey They've been retro-wing stuff as well on top of having your three normal ones. So yeah, it's been like six, seven hundred jerseys that we've been rolling through.
Starting point is 01:33:01 They have no patience, no restraint. They want to sell as many jerse as possible and has led us to this fucking monstrosity. Because remember, even before these, before the city jerseys and before this collection, they used to have an earned addition where the teams that made the playoffs in the previous year got another special jersey.
Starting point is 01:33:20 And so that was another 60. jerseys that you're rolling with from like a two, three years because it's so out of ideas for city jerseys this year some teams are bringing back their earned jersey. Yeah. Because they have no ideas. There's only so many ways that you can
Starting point is 01:33:35 write a love letter to Portland. Oh, Nike. Nike, Nike. I hate you. All right. Let's see if this gets any better next. The Celtics. Okay, Shamrock in the background for the pattern. I will consider this one. The colors a little bit better and I'll
Starting point is 01:33:51 land on F potentially one of the worst. jerseys of all time. I think maybe F plus. F plus. I think it is better than the next jersey. I will, I'll hear you. I'll see you. It's still in consideration.
Starting point is 01:34:02 I'll take that in and I will say F potentially one of the worst charges of all time. I think for the whole model run, it's the only white dude too. We're in the Celtic jersey. Naturally. What you're doing, man. Okay, next. The Sixers.
Starting point is 01:34:17 Oh, we got stars. Wow. A lot to take in. Bro. Is that yellow? You're blowing me right now. It's giving 49ers. That is yellow.
Starting point is 01:34:25 Yeah, given 49ers. Once again, small sixers, small Nike symbol. Probably F, potentially one of the worst charges of all time if I had to pick something. Do you think it can go lower? Yeah, I could. But I'll probably say F potentially one of the worst studies of all time. Gotcha. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:34:41 Wow, bro. It just gets worse and worse, honestly. This is crazy. Well, let's see if it gets worse. Next, the Warriors. Oh, 30. So it's like the bridge on the right from their logo. Good headband and match the jersey
Starting point is 01:34:57 What's the strike of blue Where do they go to get this inspiration? It's that bridge The creative direction that they're going on. They're hitting demographics They are they are VVET better VVET better F potentially when the worst series of all time
Starting point is 01:35:13 Oh man Jersey has a dress kind of hard We're going back to 2000 Cool A little gentrification Yeah Cool man
Starting point is 01:35:25 Next. The Pistons. Okay, they have fire on it, which looks cool if you were looking at like, this looks like an AI generated social graphic. I ain't going to lie. It's like, who's the blackest one of them we can find? They got it. She's beautiful.
Starting point is 01:35:42 Love it, bro. She did put that shit on. She did. Unfortunately, she should put on that bullshit. F, potentially one of the worst jerse of all time. For some reason, the Pistons team is like the most proud of this jersey. They're the only one posting about this jersey. Yeah, the colors are nice.
Starting point is 01:35:58 Teal is cool. Again, the idea of having, if this was a hoodie and we had the fire on it, paying homage to that old Pistons logo that we all love, it would be dope on a jersey. F, potentially one of the worst series of all time.
Starting point is 01:36:08 This is one of, this is all misses, no hits. It's almost like skillful in that way. There's no way they, yeah, exactly. So you're really skillful or you have to be high thinking about something like this, bro. You can't be sober thinking about this.
Starting point is 01:36:22 This went through at least like 12 layers of approval with the league office. Unless they're just slashing jobs and one guy decided this because there's layoffs and they're just like, yep, go with Dave's ideas. Yeah, I mean, listen, Nike, they had, I think they had either two or three rounds of layoffs last year. Yeah, they got everybody that works in the NBA and there's just one dude left. He's like, we'll fuck him up with this one. I think they made like a whole jersey set trying to appeal to like Cardi fans. You think so?
Starting point is 01:36:46 They're all black. Yeah. It's fucking moronic. Everybody's been saying that Nike isn't cool for the last like, you know, year and a half. trying to find their way back so what do you do about that we prove them right cardy fans rescue us not going to rescue y'all right next the vamps are not your savior is another version another look at a pissing jersey great f potentially one of the worst jersey of all time the hawks come what the fuck is that what i mean i see it has a white line going down for like the old jerseys yeah is that a wing
Starting point is 01:37:18 in the background they put hella chains on them what sign is he holding up man all these chains What is he throwing up for me? Doing on YSL That's dumb ass boy You're no It's a
Starting point is 01:37:33 That shit down I'm going with this Virch Oh my God I don't know bro I don't think so I don't think so
Starting point is 01:37:45 But it was somewhat like that I don't know Because I just throw it up Okay But once again All misses no hits All misses no hits We will have to give it a grade
Starting point is 01:37:56 Out of respect for the segment and the audience, F, potentially one of the worst jerseys of all time if I do say so myself. It's so bad, bro. I can't believe this direction we're heading into. We've been doing this for years, bro. And I don't think we've ever had a segment
Starting point is 01:38:09 where we've had legitimately all S from New Jersey's. We've had all S, of course, like, when it comes to ranking bad jerseys. But even all the bad jersey videos that we've done, they're better than this shit right here. There's something like redeemable. Yeah, there's something endearing. Like, even if you go to like the Mavs,
Starting point is 01:38:24 the like gold satin, one it's like I can kind of see how you can get that all right I think this these jerseys if you have nostalgia for these in 10 years I'll think lesser of you as a person yeah probably you should you should not be buying these last one I think to to where the kings probably the best one better honestly this is probably the best that looks like a college football jersey because I can't see the sleeves and that makes it better yes exactly that damn near is Oregon font yeah it looks like a TCU jersey that's good but we are not playing football we're playing basketball I will have to finalize the
Starting point is 01:38:56 grade of F potentially the worst jersey of all time. And we do hate TCEO over here. So you also get an F for that. Association with the Ops. Yeah, this was a video. This was one of the T3 videos of all time. Wow, bro. Yeah. This is crazy. At this point,
Starting point is 01:39:14 they got to just they got to make a rifle. For what? Designed a jersey. There's a hard. So, that hard. So, So, Ted Lassau was back, and there's a, in one of the first episodes, they're, they're having trouble with getting their uniforms. The, and.
Starting point is 01:39:34 You watch Ted Lassau? Huh? You watch it? Yeah. And the, the solve to it is they have one of, one of the people in the organization have one of their nieces and her whole team come in and draw on jerseys and then they go out and that's what they wear for their first game.
