Secondly, Democrat state legislators out of Texas have fleed the state. And finally, President Trump destroys Elizabeth Warren. We're going to show you what both sides are saying in all of these stories and give you the bottom line. Fox News can confirm that Attorney General Pam Bondi today signed an order direct. an unnamed U.S. federal prosecutor to take evidence to a grand jury relating to an alleged conspiracy to tie then 2016 candidate Donald Trump to the country of Russia.

Now, Fox News reviewed the one-page order just hours ago signed by the Attorney General. A source familiar with the probe confirms this as well. While a DOJ spokesperson declined to comment on this report of an investigation, Fox is told Attorney General Bondi is taking the referrals from Director of National Intelligence. Tulsi Gabbard, quote, very seriously. The spokesperson says that Bondi believes there is, quote, clear cause for deep concern, end quote, and a need for the next steps. Now, this move will comes just a couple of weeks after the Director of National Intelligence. You see her right there.

Tulsi Gabbard sent a criminal referral to the Justice Department regarding what she says proves there was a conspiracy to undermine Trump's candidacy and later his first term in office. Now, to be clear today, there are no charges that have been filed, no indictments. This is incredibly early in the process. Okay, so no doubt that this is a big story. It's a big step, by the way, in the right direction. Results driven here, guys, that's who I am. So, yes, I've been critical at Pam Bondi and the Justice Department, but I'm not afraid to give

credit where credit is due. Taking this step, she deserves some credit. Now, you wouldn't take the evidence to a grand jury for funds. You're doing it because you want to get a conviction. You want somebody to be sent to prison to pay for crimes. I mean, that's the bottom line here. So this is good news. But it is still early in the process.

What we have here is taking evidence the Justice Department believes it has to a grand jury to secure an eventual indictment or indictments. We don't know exactly where the grand jury will meet. We don't know who will go before the grand jury. And that's by design, because grand juries determine if there's enough evidence to indict, and grand juries are secretive in the American legal system. So it's normal not to know all of the answers. Again, the DOJ declining on any comment regarding this investigation.

But, Will, big news, this was signed by the Attorney General Pam Bondi today to take this evidence of an alleged conspiracy to a grand jury with the hope to get an indictment or multiple indictments. But of course, we're going to find that out here shortly.

Okay, next story. And it's a big one. At the federal level right now, Texas is looking to reshape the congressional districts. Now, this has set off a fight publicly where Democrats are fleeing the state so they don't have to vote on this measure. In fact, the governor issued a clear threat to them that if they didn't return by a certain time, which was today at 3 p.m., that there are certain consequences that are going to take place. And you'll hear more of that as we go through this.

Bottom line up front before we get into the story is once again, Democrats know they're going to lose. But what they want to do is lose in a loud way. hoping to reshape public opinion. Listen to this. Texas House Democrats will not be returning to their home state, despite Governor Abbott's warning that they could face removal from office

if they are not back by 4 o'clock Eastern time today. Instead, they just announced a press conference at 7 p.m. And where are they? In Warrenville, Illinois is where those Texas representatives will be speaking from just about an hour outside of Chicago this evening around 7 o'clock. They've been in Illinois. They've been in other states.

They're protesting this GOP effort to redraw the congressional map. We know that both sides, Republicans and Democrats, are pretty good at getting very creative in carving out these lines. The Texas governor feels this is a legitimate move. The president supports it as well. We'll see where this whole thing goes. We'll be watching. Yeah, so this can be confusing if you really don't understand how this process works. It's the state legislators in Texas that are responsible for approving the state.

the congressional districts at the federal level. Now, I find that to be interesting that they are in charge of it, even though they don't serve at the federal level. It doesn't matter. That's just the way that it is. And once they approve it, it goes to the governor's desk, which would be Greg Abbott. He would sign off, and we're good. Also, this usually happens once every 10 years. Right now, we're halfway through those 10 years. And that's why Democrats are also crying about this. Now, Democrats are also accusing Republicans of gerrymandering this state, and all that really means is that one political side is purposely manipulating the congressional district lines to benefit their own party. Now, what's fascinating is the same people who are

allowed about accusing Republicans of doing this are the same people who have already done it in their state. Now, before we go any further, I want you guys to get the entire story. So we're going to take a step back and let you hear some more details about what got us to this point. Take a listen. Standoff in Texas and a warning from Governor Greg Abbott. Republicans versus Democrats at the state level, the GOP is redistricting with a plan and that plan is trying to go forward. And in the only play they have, and it's a flawed one, more than 50 Texas Democrats have run away from Texas to blue states across the country to try to keep

Republicans from voting on the issue that would leave Democrats politically limping. I'm Harris Faulkner. You are in the Faulkner focus. The President Trump-led effort to change the congressional map of Texas has Republicans at the ready to pick up

five new seats in Texas next year. Texas Governor Abbott, who's threatened to remove those Democrats if they don't return today by 3 p.m. with a warning just moments ago. be bribery if any lawmaker took money to perform or to refuse to perform an act in the legislature. Based upon comments made by legislators themselves, they face a possibility of facing bribery charges, which is a second-degree felony in the state of Texas.

There's one way to cure that, and that is if they get back to the state of Texas and make quorum today at a hearing that we have at 3 o'clock, they can cure themselves of any quid pro quo that would subject them to potential bribery charges. So this begs the question at this point, why would state legislators who are Democrats leave the state and go to another one? Because Republicans cannot hold the vote unless there's a certain amount of Democrats

that are physically there. And so that's their strategy. The only problem is, according to history, in 2003 and 2011 and 2021, where they tried the same tactic, they ended up losing anyway. And Republicans ended up voting what they wanted to vote on.

So, you know, this is just really more of a delay tactic to get public opinion, to get everybody talking about it, which is why we're talking about it now, to get national attention. The only problem is people see through this noise, especially if you have common sense. Democrats, once again, are pulling a stunt, but it's not going to work in their favor. It looks like those Democrats could be here for at least the next two weeks until Texas special legislative session is over to try and delay a vote on this new congressional map. And delay is really the key word there because Republicans have enough of a majority in the Texas House that whenever Democrats do come back, the governor can just call another special session and this can easily pass. What Democrats are doing is trying to buy time to change public opinion and build outrage over this effort in hopes that Republicans are pressured to change course. Here they are after landing in Illinois last night. We come here today with absolute moral clarity, that this is the absolutely the right thing to do to protect the people of the state of Texas.

This corn break is not about the Democratic Party. It is about the democratic process. Those Texas lawmakers are now facing a $500 fine for every day that they are not at the Capitol. And you heard Governor Abbott, they're threatening to have them arrested, or even, potentially to try to have them removed from office. And nationally, though, this redistricting fight is creating waves with some blue state governors like J.B. Pritzker here in Illinois, suggesting they could push to change congressional maps in their states to make up for any seats that Democrats might lose in Texas. And that last point is exactly why this is turned into, again, another episode called

the Desperate Democrats of Congress, right, where they just react so emotionally. So Governor Gavin New Scum and J.B. Pritzker, their reaction is, okay, if you guys want to gerrymander in Texas, well, Jerry Mandar in our own state. And what's fascinating, they've already done that, okay? I mean, California is a super majority. Illinois is a super majority. So it's fascinating that the people who are crying about this, they are what they're accusing Texas of being. That's what I find to be so interesting. Now, to add on to the drama, let's listen to some of it.

of the governors and their nonsense, starting with Kathy Hokel. Well, Donald Trump and his co-conspirator, Greg Abbott, erode our democracy and drag us toward authoritarianism. Now, what Texas and Republican states are doing at the direction of Donald Trump, I say is nothing short of a legal insurrection against our capital. Legal meaning they're using the legal process. Does not mean it's legal. must be stopped. If Republicans are willing to rewrite these rules to give themselves an advantage,

then they're leaving us no choice. We must do the same. There's a phrase, you have to fight fire with fire. That is a true statement of how we're feeling right now. As I've said, another overused but applicable phrase, all's fair in love and war. That's why I'm exploring with our leaders. Every option to redraw our state congressional lines as soon as possible. Yeah, so I told you guys this is a reality TV show. Already Kathy Hokel has put forth an amendment to disband the independent commission that is responsible for drawing congressional districts. Now, California has the same thing. It doesn't mean that it's not immune to political pressure or being manipulated because it has been in California. Same thing in New York. And the reason

reason why I'm trying to explain all this to you guys in the most neutral way, because if you watch the news or you go on social media, it's really polarizing this entire conversation. And it's distracting from the bottom line truth. Legally, whoever's in charge, whoever has the super majority, they can change the district lines to their favor. That is the bottom line. The Supreme Court has already ruled on that. There's nothing wrong with doing that.

The only time we start to have a problem is when you're doing the line. based on race. And that's something the Supreme Court has already signaled that they may be taking up to review and obviously rule on to prevent in the future. So Kathy Hochle, as I said, she's a hypocrite just like the rest of them. And to prove my point, listen to what she says here. Do you think given this situation where we've had these court battles, everything, that in this 27 amendment that you may put forward,

that the independent redistricting commission should be disbanded or changed in some way so that you don't have to go through that again in 32? Yes. I'm tired of fighting this fight with my hand tied behind my back. With all due respect to the good government groups, politics is a political process. And to think that we're going to do this

with a purity test and make sure it's completely fair to everybody involved, the reason we are able to draw the lines because we're Democrats, because the majority of people in this state selected us, elected us to be leaders. And when we say that we cannot use that power to its fullest,

then we're abdigating the responsibility that we all have. Republicans take over the legislature. They can have at it. But until then, we're in charge and we're sick and tired of being pushed around. See, that's why I'm saying this is a losing issue once again for Democrats.

That's why their strategy is to lose loudly. They think the public, and, you know, I don't fault them for thinking this way, won't do their research and educate themselves. That's why I show you guys both sides. You make up your own mind. I've given you the education. I'm not seeing what's wrong with what Texas is doing, okay, because it's nothing different than what all the other states have done up to this point. Now, here is a solid response from a Texas state legislator Republican who is honest about what's going on here and actually calls out Illinois for doing exactly. what they're accusing Texas of doing. Take a look at this. So then is your objection against

Pritzker or Newsom doing the same thing purely that it doesn't advantage your party? That's not consistent. No, I've never said something like that. You're putting words in my mouth. My objection to your point in the finger at them isn't that he's not allowed to do it. My objection is the rank hypocrisy and dishonesty of what he's saying. I'm going to hold this up. Can you see this? Do you see this? I want Prisker to did CNN? Did y'all have him on to explain Illinois 13, this pinky-sized finger that goes across the entire state that was 100% drawn for partisan political purposes? But I haven't seen anything at CNN or pretty much any of the other major networks bringing him on or the Democrats and his legislator that drew a map with districts that are far more gerrymandered than anything that the House, that the Texas maps that we're contemplating look like here today. So it's rank hypocrisy. That's my problem. And the dishonesty and the faux outrage. They're not mad that states are redistricting for partisan purposes. They're mad that a Republican state is doing. Yeah, that's the exact point that I was making, and this takes us to the bottom line of this story. Texas state legislators have the

authority to update the congressional districts. Yes, historically, they've only done it once every 10 years, and now they're doing it midway through, but there's nothing in the Constitution. There's nothing in the law that says they can't do that, okay? That's number of one. Number two, Democrats' response is a poor one. They think fleeing the state, which prevents them from doing their job that they were elected to do, will stop this. It won't. It will just delay the inevitable. They think public opinion will be changed by playing these games, but let's just be real. Democrats have zero credibility. What public opinion are they really going to change on this? This is nothing new and nothing different from what California, New York, Illinois has done

already. Now, let's circle back on what Greg Abbott had to say, the governor of Texas, because Democrats want to play stupid game, so he has stupid prizes for them. Listen to this. You said in your statement that you put out today, to all of them, in a letter to them, you said, in addition to abandoning their offices, these legislators may also have committed felonies. What is the felony? What are the penalties for this? So very simply, it would be bribery if any lawmaker took money to perform, or to refuse to perform an act in the legislature. And the reports are these legislators have been both they sought money and they offered money

to skip the vote, to leave the legislature to take a legislative act. That would be bribery. And so the facts will have to come out. But I think based upon comments made by legislators themselves, they face a possibility of facing bribery charges, which is a second. degree felony in the state of Texas. There's one way to cure that. And that is, if they get back to the state of Texas and make quorum today at a hearing that we have at 3 o'clock, they can cure themselves of any quid pro quo that would subject them to potential bribery charges. Okay, so clearly

we know they did not meet the 3 p.m. deadline. So we're going to find out, or they're going to find out, how serious the governor really is. Now, here was one reaction from one of the Democrats who fled the state. She actually ended up in New York at the press conference with Kathy Hockel. And here's what she had to say. Take a listen. I'm a lawyer. A part of my practice is criminal defense work. There is no felony in the Texas Penal Code for what he says. So respectfully, he's making up some shit. Okay? He's trying to get sound bites. And he has no legal mechanism. And if he did, subpoenas from Texas don't work in New York. So he's going to come get us how. Subpoenas

in Texas don't work in Chicago. He's going come get us how. So let me be clear. He's putting up smoke and mirrors. And I'm hopeful that the media doesn't follow that. Well, I would argue it's Democrats that are actually looking for the soundbite right now. They're the ones that fled the state.

They're the ones doing all these press conferences all over the place trying to rebuke the governor, make it all about President Trump. And the one person they continue to forget in all of this is the person who put them in office. So you guys are spending your time playing political games instead of doing the good work that you were elected to do. Now, another example of this nonsense is this state legislator,

Democrat, of course, on CNN telling the governor to come and take it. Texas Governor Greg Abbott says he will try to take your seats away if you don't go back. Let me read you what he said. He said, this truancy ends now. The derelict Democratic House members must return to Texas and be in attendance with the House reconvenes at 3 p.m. today, for any member who fails to do so, I will invoke Texas Attorney General Opinion number KP. 0382 to remove the missing Democrats from membership in the Texas House. What do you say to that threat? Well, first of all, I want to say, you know what, today is a great day to end the corruption of Greg Abbott. This has gone on far too long. The public has been in.

rage about this, how politicians continue to tell the public pretty words but never actually do what they say they would do. This is Governor Abbott being upset about that because he's been caught doing exactly that. And

to Governor Abbott, frankly, he doesn't know how to read Attorney General's opinions because he used to be Attorney General. And frankly, Democrats say, come and take it. Come and take it. You think, do you think he could be successful taking your seats away?

No. It's all bluster, sound and fury, signifying nothing. Okay, let me get your guys' reaction in the comments section below, especially for the people who live in Texas. Where are you at on this issue? Now, my family and I, we just moved here, okay?

So I'm not really familiar with Texas politics. I'm definitely familiar with California politics, which is just super rigged, by the way. is the Republicans on the right side of this issue? Or do you believe they're doing exactly what Democrats are accusing them of doing, which is discriminating against the voters, disfranchising minorities, and ultimately violating people's constitutional rights? Now, our next story is also a huge one and comes as known. shocker that Elizabeth Warren is out in full force today, publicly endorsing Mr. Mondani, the socialist communist candidate for New York City mayor, and she's just going all out.

You guys have to see this for yourself. But the real story behind this is she finally admits what she wants the Democrat Party to be all about. Progressive values mixed with socialism. Take a listen. Is this what the party should look like? Yes. You bet.

The Democratic Party needs to stand up and be clear. We are the party that fights for affordability for working families. That means childcare. That means housing. It means health care. It means making this country work better for the working people who make this country work. All right. Last question.

I get a little excited about this. I'll tell you what, I give her credit for at least being honest for a change. Okay. we know the policies that these people represent what they believe in, and we know why they won't work. And what's fascinating is that there are some Democrats who are endorsing him and some that are staying quiet. I think what's happening is they're waiting to see if he will win the election to become

the mayor of New York City. And if he does, then they will all get on board. Remember, there's a certain part of Democrats that are just far gone at this point that believe this is the road they need to go down. And there are some Democrats out there, more moderate leading, who are like, nah, I don't think we should be going down this road. That is to a tree. When someone stands up and says, I will lead this city by making it more affordable, and here are my plans, real plans, plans to deliver on child care, plans to deliver on housing, plans to deliver, we're going to experiment, we're going to try things on groceries. That is,

the democratic message. Now, as a result of Elizabeth Warren making her rounds this morning, throwing her support behind Mr. Mondani, and also calling out the president, well, of course, he fired back. And here's what he said. First, in just six months, I cut costs,

especially energy and taxes, tremendously. Elizabeth Pocahontas Warren on CNBC said costs have gone up. She is just angry that I blew up her terrible presidential campaign. Call her out. And then here's the second post. Elizabeth Warren is a loser.

She lies about everything, including the fact that she is an Indian. She's not. She's no Pocahontas. And finally, ask Pocahontas to real questions, CNBC. Of course they're not going to do that. And so that's what he had to say in response. But she continued to go at the president. Take a listen.

Are we running this country for a handful of billionaires? Or are we running this country for the American people, for working families? We are focused increasingly. on affordability. Donald Trump promised on day one that he was going to lower costs for Americans and what is he done? The cost of groceries is up. The cost of utilities is up. The cost of health care is up. The cost of housing is up. Remember, Donald Trump ran for office saying he would lower cost on day one. Cost of groceries are up. Cost of housing is up. Cost of health care is up and where is Donald Trump? He's passing a signature bill to throw people off their health care

so he can do tax cuts for billionaires. Democrats are the people who say billionaires actually should pay their fair share and that we need to focus on affordability for American families. And that's what we're out there fighting for. You mentioned. Yeah, so my question for Elizabeth Warren, why weren't you fighting for these same American people when Biden was the president, when we witnessed record inflation. Whatever cost, they say, has gone up under President Trump, it is nothing compared to what happened under Joe Biden. Let's just be honest about it.
