Starting point is 00:00:00 So in breaking news, you have Elon Musk coming out and threatening to primary Republicans who vote for the one big beautiful bill. You also have President Trump threatening to primary Republicans who vote against the one big beautiful bill. So plenty of updates in this video. We'll show you what both sides are saying and give you the bottom line. We're waiting right now to see when they might try to vote on this big beautiful bill in the Senate. They're in the middle of this voterama. They've been voting roll call vote after roll call vote since 940 this morning. Usually these voteramas take about 10 to 15 hours, and so this is definitely going to be on the longer end right now.
Starting point is 00:00:40 I will note one thing here. Nobody can tell me definitively when they think they will get there, and even though there's a lot of positivity on the Republican side of the eye, whether or not they, in fact, have the votes. We really think this might be a middle of the night or pre-dawn exercise provided they can get the votes. They do have two Republican nose on the board right now. That would be Tom Tillis from North Carolina and Rand Paul. And as I always say, it's about the math. So they can lose one more and maybe have a 50-50 vote and bring in Vice President Vance to break a tie. Now, the other question is whether or not they can get this through the House of Representatives.
Starting point is 00:01:14 Just because they get it through the Senate, it's not a done deal. To move it quickly, I talked to Don Bacon, the Republican representative from Nebraska today who is retiring. There's a lot of retirements here. Tom Tillis announced his retirement yesterday, Bacon, formerly today. Bacon says he thinks that they have cut Medicare too deeply. He also doesn't like what they've done with some of the green energy tax credits. So how this works out tonight, when it works out tonight, and if they can match up in the house, that remains an unanswered question.
Starting point is 00:01:43 All right. So that's the update from Fox News, according to their point of view on the one big, beautiful bill. But where I want to start first are the challenges this bill is going to have to overcome. Number one, it's Elon Musk. he's continuing to rip Republicans, anybody who votes for this bill, he will put up the money for their opponent during the midterm. So that's an issue there. Number two, Medicaid. According to which Republican you ask, some say Medicaid cuts. Other people say Medicaid reforms.
Starting point is 00:02:08 Now, the reforms are comprised of able-body workers, removing them out of the program, and establishing different requirements for that. Now, for other people, they say, we're going too far with Medicaid. All right. And number three, even if they get on the same page and they pass this, bill, question is, will the House approve it as it is? And that obviously remains to be unseen, as you guys heard earlier. However, the reason why I did not say Democrats are an issue and why Democrats are not something this bill is going to have to overcome is because, once again, they're focusing on the wrong things. Here is a prime example, Bernie Sanders yesterday saying this. You're raising a very important question. I want people to understand what's going
Starting point is 00:02:47 on. The Republican Party has not just to become a right-wing extremist party, in many cases has become like a Stalinist party, a cult of the individual. And what the party is about now is that Trump says something. And if you have an independent thought, if you disagree with Mr. Trump, if you think maybe what he's proposing doesn't work for your constituents, you're out of here. You raise your voice and in five minutes they will be announcing a primary to your election. So what happened is Tillis thought that this was a bad piece of legislation for North Carolina. He's right. It was. And the result of that is Trump said, good, we're going to primary you. You have the same thing in the House, you know, with the very few people who are
Starting point is 00:03:40 prepared to disagree with Trump. So right now, the Republican Party, People are just afraid to dissent, and all you have to do is say, I love President Trump, I will do anything and everything he says. Hey, that's what being a candidate in the Republican Party is today. Pretty pathetic. Okay, so that's Bernie Sanders' perspective, and no wonder Democrats are not a challenge here for the one big, beautiful bill. But I will say politically, that's a lot of hypocrisy coming out of his mouth. At least President Trump is going to do it publicly and let you know where he stands. unlike Nancy Pelosi, who operates in the shadows, and before you know it, people are gone.
Starting point is 00:04:18 Democrats have been treating their members like that for decades on end. And let's not forget about Senator Federman and how they're currently treating him because he has a difference of opinion with the entire party. But I digress. All right. Now, before we get to Elon Musk and what other people have to say about his comments, let's first address the elephant in the room, Tom Tillis. We know he announced that he will no longer be re-seeking election,
Starting point is 00:04:39 which is an issue for the GOP in the midterms, because it gives Democrats a chance here, but also his criticism on the one big, beautiful bill. Here is the press catching him earlier this morning and what he had to say about President Trump's criticism. Take a look. Do you surprise by the extent of some of his political threats to you last night, just one out of the other?
Starting point is 00:05:00 Frankly, I never read them, so I'm not really sure how many of their word, you know? I mean, I'm not on truth. What is it? It's a truth, social. I'm not on that platform. Yeah, I mean, he sort of, you know, he pledged to meet with anyone that friend to primary, You know, I told him, actually, I'd be a tax that he probably needed to start looking for a replacement anyway before he posted that.
Starting point is 00:05:20 If we're responsible for moving this bill, I believe that it's going to be a massive mistake. And sooner or later, you've got to help the president understand that he's getting a lot of advice from people who have never governed. And all they've done is written white papers. And it's very different to talk about the perfect versus implement the practical. Okay, so that was Tom Tillis, and of course, rumors are already spreading that Laura Trump might be considering a Senate bid in North Carolina to replace Tom Tillis. Now, what we're going to do is use ground news to understand more of this story, what both sides are saying, and make up our own mind about what we believe to be true. And if you guys want to follow along, just go to ground.com. Now, the cool thing about ground news that I love is every time you click on a story, it gives you the bottom line in these bullet points about what's happening.
Starting point is 00:06:09 So if we just scroll down here where it says, according to polls, TILA's favorability rating stands at a 26.4% while Laura Trump leads a hypothetical Republican primary with 64% of support and 24% of undecided. And in case you didn't know this, she did grow up in Wilmington, North Carolina, because I know there's a lot of people who say that she's from Florida. So there's that. Now, before we go any further, here's what Tom Tillis said on the Senate floor yesterday, where he claimed President Trump is not getting the right information and he's misinformed. Take a listen. So, Mr. President, over the course of the evening, I may look for an opportunity to speak again. But I'm telling the president that you have been misinformed.
Starting point is 00:06:56 You supporting the Senate mark will hurt people who are eligible and qualified. for Medicaid. I love the work requirement. I love the other reforms in this bill. They are necessary and I appreciate the leadership of the House for putting it in there. In fact, I like the work of the House so much that I wouldn't be having to do this speech if we simply start it with the House mark. Mr. President, we owe it to the American people and I owe it to the people of North Carolina to withhold my affirmative vote until it's demonstrated to me that we've done our homework. We're going to make sure that we fulfill the promise, and then I can feel good about a bill
Starting point is 00:07:44 that I'm willing to vote for. But until that time, I will be withholding my vote. All right, so that was the senator claiming that President Trump is misinformed. Just let me know in the comment section. Do you buy that from the senator? Because I don't. But I really want to know what your guys' thoughts are about that. And here's what the media is already doing.
Starting point is 00:08:02 We're using ground news because it shows us what both sides are saying and that way we can think for ourselves. And that brings us to what the left is saying about Laura Trump potentially running for his seat. Here we go. She'd be a disaster. Campaign consultant laughs off Laura Trump's Senate run. And she hasn't even come out publicly and confirmed that she's going to do this. This is all speculation at the end of the day, which is why left-leaning outlets are talking about this and not right-leaning outlets. And why is that?
Starting point is 00:08:30 Because they're seeking to frame a narrative about Laura Trump. And the bottom line here, folks, you got to be using Ground News if you want to see the full picture. You got to use something like this so you can think for yourself. So if you want to use this tool for yourself, all you have to do is go to ground. That news 4 slash DeVore or you can download the mobile app. Just use promo code DeVorey. And it's going to give you access to everything that I showed you in this video, including 40% off the vantage plan. And meanwhile, Elon Musk is back on X or Twitter.
Starting point is 00:08:58 casting his former best buddy President Trump's agenda here and attacking people who support it. Yeah, Jake, and saying that anyone who has advocated to be a fiscal hawk to say they want to reduce the federal deficit and the debt, that they should hang their heads in shame if they vote for this. Look at what he just posted earlier. He said every member of Congress who campaigned on reducing government spending and then immediately voted for the biggest debt increase in history should hang their head in shame. And this part is key, Jake. He said they will lose their primary next year. is the last thing I do on this earth. Essentially, he is saying there that he is going to try to primary. Every Republican who votes yes on this bill, obviously that could be quite a few,
Starting point is 00:09:39 even though we're talking about a few holdouts here. But you are seeing Jake where he's essentially just saying that there needs to be another political party, this notion that he came out with right after he left the White House a few weeks ago saying that both parties have it wrong. There needs to be a new party formed here in Washington. It just goes to show Jake that even people who have been allies of this president are criticizing him. And that was another example of what I just said about Lord Trump, but they're doing it with Elon Musk. And that is the media looking to capitalize on these moments every time a Republican has a disagreement about what's going on.
Starting point is 00:10:09 And the fact of the matter is having a disagreement is healthy, ladies and gentlemen. Democrats are not used to that, which is why they believe in cancel culture, okay? And censorship. Now, to prove my point, here's Sher Michael Singleton, supporting what Elon Musk is saying, but also supporting what the president is trying to accomplish here. Tillis is not running for real election number one. And as it pertains to Elon Musk, his argument is correct if you base the premise of the argument on the projections from the CBO, which is based upon static spending, meaning you're not taken into consideration how the consumer base may act with this new tax bill once it's passed. You're not thinking how businesses may react in real time to this. Republicans are predicating the argument upon growth.
Starting point is 00:10:52 The argument is we extend these tax cuts for middle class workers and businesses. to spend more, they're going to have more disposable income. I think, based on what we have seen thus far, despite what your views may be on terrorists, that there is a very logical argument and through line to point to to say that the argument coming from Trump and his supporters is correct that we likely will see continued growth. Consumers will potentially have more disposable income. Okay, so hopefully we're starting to see the perspective from the White House and why they believe this bill has to pass because they're not buying into what the CBO is saying. Elon Musk is, and he has a valid point.
Starting point is 00:11:26 Let's not be naive here. Spending will continue to go up because the entitlement benefit programs are continuing to go up. So to say that spending won't increase, that is a lie. However, the thing that the Trump administration has on their side to make their point or argument are tariffs. Have you seen the latest announcement when it comes to tariff revenue from CNBC this morning? If not, take a look. Look how much we've been collecting in revenues. And I did this in part because Wilfred's here and he can talk about the UK trade deal.
Starting point is 00:11:58 But just this is the monthly numbers. And they have gone up a lot. June is actually set for another big increase of $27 billion. That is money coming into U.S. coffers from tariffs. We are collecting a lot of revenues. So far, guys, $121 billion has flowed into the U.S. government since the start of the fiscal year. It's still a tiny portion of the overall revenues that the U.S. government gets. it's increasingly a lot, especially we haven't seen it in terms of the consumer paying
Starting point is 00:12:28 off higher inflation. Okay, even if we only average, let's say, 30 billion, okay, we're looking at what, almost 400 billion in one year? Yeah, 400 billion is not chump change to the overall budget, okay? This is a huge win. And if you throw in what small businesses will do, and especially tax cuts, because it's already been proven, when you lower taxes, more tax rates. revenue comes in because people are more likely to pay their taxes versus when you raise taxes
Starting point is 00:12:58 on people. So I think those two points are definitely spot on. Now, here is Scott Jennings of what he had to say about Elon Musk's criticism. I'm never going to say a bad word about Elon because I think what he did to help Donald Trump win the election and save Western civilization can never be forgotten. He has a difference of opinion with the president on this. I would just say that getting the debt ceiling lifted in this bill, so Republicans doing it on their terms as opposed to having to beg Chuck Schumer for votes will be a lot less costly than if they did it the other way. That's number one. Number two, there's still a way for Republicans to pivot to cutting spending. This is not a spending bill. It's a reconciliation bill. It's largely just
Starting point is 00:13:32 a tax bill. There's still a way to pivot to this topic. His concerns are not unfounded. They're not misplaced. There's still a way to pivot to this later. And I actually think the Republican should pivot to this once they're done with the taxes. And therein lies my my main criticism about this entire process so far. I understand President Trump loves the words the one big, beautiful bill. That's all great, but quite frankly, who cares in the end? We care about results. Why not just put a bill together that's only about the taxes? Get that pass. Then let's move on to border security. Get that pass. But when you wrap it all under one, you know you're going to have problems because Congress barely reads these bills as it is
Starting point is 00:14:09 until it's time to vote. And that's what frustrates me the most about this entire process, including the language they continue to use to claim that cuts are going to happen, which here's Fox News, Brett Baer debunking that claim. Take a listen. So, Britt, it is about, you know, this is a Washington thing. A cut is a cut in the expansion of the growth. Yeah, that's right. And that's been Washington budget speak for a long time, that if you hold spending below the projected rate of increase,
Starting point is 00:14:43 even though it's an actual increase, that's considered a cut and that's been true in budget speak for a long time. Republicans have tried to resist it, but you know, the word cut as I think most people understand it, Brett, means something is lower than it already than its current level. And that's
Starting point is 00:14:59 not the case here. As Senator Graham is correct to point out that Medicaid spending would actually go up under this bill. It just wouldn't go up as fast as it's been growing and it has been growing very fast and is one of the now the main drivers of the deficit spending that everybody pretends to decry.
Starting point is 00:15:16 So there's a lot of wordsmithing going on here. I'm a guy that doesn't like that stuff, just given the bottom line. Will people lose Medicaid if this bill passes? According to everything I've seen, the answer is no. Now, will there be new requirements that may make it challenging for current people who are on the program? Absolutely. Able body workers, younger people.
Starting point is 00:15:41 But one thing is for sure. Regardless of wherever you stand on this issue, Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, and the entire entitlement benefit program in our country, it is a problem because it makes up majority of our deficit. So sooner or later, we do need to look at these programs and figure out how we're going to be able to save money, but still take care of our citizens. You know what's really frustrating is that, I mean, you look at these programs. I mean, at some point, every entitlement needs to be looked at.
Starting point is 00:16:13 moment that you even talk about it, you get lambasted by the media and the other side, as if they're not aware of the deficit disaster that we already currently have. I mean, you even just hint at Medicaid reform because there is so much waste. There's so many people pulling from that that shouldn't be, and they immediately say you're going to kill somebody's grandma. Again, that was the design of Obamacare. Let's go to a single-payer system. Let's bring up single adults who should be working getting health care through the employer, but we incentivize them not to work. Your earlier segment we're saying, we can't get people to fill these jobs.
Starting point is 00:16:45 Well, we pay them not to work. So this is a huge problem. Nobody wants to take Medicaid away from children. It's Medicaid expansion of those single adults who get again reimbursed $9 to $1. That's crowding out to those vulnerable populations from even providers.
Starting point is 00:17:01 Okay, so let's get to the bottom line of this video. First, over the weekend, President Trump threatened to primary Republicans who vote against the big, beautiful bill. Now you have Elon Musk threatening to primary Republicans who vote for this bill. Then you have this word smithing about Medicaid cuts and Medicaid expansion and work requirements to the point where you're almost left confused. I mean, this is just getting crazy.
Starting point is 00:17:29 And I can't wait to see what actually happens. Remember, President Trump has a deadline of July 4th. And remember, results are going to tell the story if the one big, beautiful bill truly delivers on his campaign. promises because we'll know by next year. Now, let's hear from you guys in the comments section below to both of these stories. Obviously, starting with the big update about where we're at. We're probably going to go to the middle of the night as retains to the voting. What Elon Musk had to say, which again is insane. And then also Tom Tillis not seeking re-election where there's rumors about Laura Trump possibly replacing him. Just give me all your thoughts about this entire process in the
Starting point is 00:18:07 comment section below. And do you agree with me that this is just nonsense? Why don't we just vote on taxes, get that done, because I believe that's more important than anything else. And then let's move to the second important issue, border security. And then let's move to the next issue. I mean, it makes logical sense to me, but maybe that's why I don't serve in Congress. Let me know what you guys think about all that in the comments section below. Now, earlier today, in breaking news, the DOJ announced the largest fraud scheme in health care history, $15 billion in fraudulent payments coming out of Medicaid and Medicare, you guys got to watch this video for yourself. And so if you want to watch that video, all you have to do
Starting point is 00:18:45 is click on it because it's coming up right now.
