Starting point is 00:00:00 Okay, in today's video, we're providing updated details that are chilling about the suspect from last night's failed assassination attempt on the president during the White House correspondence dinner. We'll also cover some delusional reactions from people on the left and still people who are disappointed that this assassination attempt failed. So let's start with what we know at this point. Take a look. What a night it was. And the president himself has been quite outspoken of the events of the last 12 hours or so, sharing not only what has. happened behind the scenes with him and his security detail, but what we're also learning about the suspected gunman in this case, who, as you know, ran past the security checkpoint. This morning,
Starting point is 00:00:39 the acting attorney general says they believe the suspect acted alone, but that they are still trying to piece together the exact motive of what brought this person to the Washington, Hilton, but that they believe it was the president as well as top administration officials who were the targeted of this attack. They believe the man was armed with knives, a shotgun, a handgun. He was a registered guest to the Hilton, also believed, to have traveled to D.C. via Chicago, via train. Investigators are still hoping to give more details about what they've learned about him. My colleague Davis-Bunton reporting that he is not cooperating with law enforcement right now,
Starting point is 00:01:11 but he'll be making his first court appearance on Monday. The incident once again raising questions about the president's security, how events are handled when it comes to America's top politicians, the leaders. The Secret Service is going to great lengths to defend its procedures today, insisting the system works as the gunman never reached the president. It shows that our multi-layered protection works and I'm grateful to our partners that help assist us with building these sites and protecting these sites. Very fortunate that this officer is alive, is being observed. I'm grateful that the president reached out to this officer and spoke with him earlier.
Starting point is 00:01:51 So what an eventful night it was yesterday. And I have to tell you guys, the reactions are nothing short. what's broken in our society. So let me go through them really quickly. According to the president, his main focus actually has been on the bar room that he continues to push for these obvious reasons. It would definitely be much more secure. There's nothing wrong with him saying that, obviously. And when you have the president, the vice president and top cabinet members in a hotel lobby or in one of those banquet rooms, it just doesn't feel secure to me, if that makes sense. The other side to it, which is definitely unhinged at the highest level,
Starting point is 00:02:30 are people on the left claiming that this was all staged. It was a fake assassination attempt that the president was able to convince someone who voted for Kamala Harris and who has attended no King's protest to show up and I guess go through with this operation. All right. And of course, you also have people screaming about gun control. It's all the usual reactions. Okay. And so we will cover each and every one of them. But where I want to start first is really about the shooter himself. Listen to this. White House officials tell our CBS News, Jennifer Jacobs, that authorities have found anti-Trump and anti-Christian rhetoric on the suspect social media accounts. We're also told by law enforcement sources, both of his firearms were purchased legally in California. As for the defendant, Margaret Hill appear in federal court tomorrow.
Starting point is 00:03:21 Now, the readers digest about the shooter is he's a teacher from California. He donated to Kamala Harris. He's a member of Wide Awakes, attended to No King's protests, a radical leftist rhetoric on blue skies, and wrote anti-Trump manifesto, which we're about to get into now. But first, watch this clip because he was actually on the news some years ago. College student, Cole Allen, developed a prototype for a wheelchair emergency break. The wheelchair brakes tend to lock the wheels, but don't actually lock the chair to the ground. The idea with this is to prevent it from moving at all. Now, that anti-Trump rhetoric in the form of a manifesto is nothing new.
Starting point is 00:04:06 Okay. Now, for the people who are into conspiracy theories, it seems like the suspect here listed all of the top people within the government as the target, except for Cash Patel, the FBI director. Some people are going down a rabbit hole for that. Anyways, he writes up this whole thing. I'm not going to read every line to it. You guys can definitely go read this for yourself. But, you know, he says, I apologize to my parents. I apologize to people that I travel with.
Starting point is 00:04:36 I apologize to everyone who was abused or murdered before this. And he says the reason why he did any of this is because he's a citizen of the USA. What my representatives do reflects on me. I am no longer willing to permit a pedophile, a grapice, and traitor to coat my hands with his crimes. Now, that statement alone is something we continue to hear every single day on social media because we have one side of the political spectrum that is engaged in a high level of hyperbole in everything that happens with the president. I mean, you can't have a thorough, nuanced, good faith conversation with these people. They believe the most extreme things about
Starting point is 00:05:17 the president. And so I'm not shocked that this is in this statement. Again, some people say this is all fake, which I find that to be laughable, but okay. But this is his manifest. Okay, having said that, let's take you to the clip itself, which I think we've been able to find probably the Claris audio yet in case you haven't seen it because you're too busy like me last night. Let's watch it. There's more to life than finding the perfect car. But finding the perfect car can help you get the most out of life. Like the SUV that handles everything from drop off to off road. and the car that hulls groceries and hockey teams,
Starting point is 00:06:05 or the van that's gone from just practical to practically family. Whatever you want, wherever you're going. Start your search at autotraider.ca. Canada's car marketplace. The ride that steals the spotlight every time it hits the road, that's the Volkswagen TIG-1. Its sleek exterior makes a first impression you can't ignore. Step inside to find available full leather seats
Starting point is 00:06:33 and wood accents. Under the hood, the available 201 turbocharged horsepower engine gives it a fun to drive edge. The refined Tiguan, you deserve more style. Visit vw.ca to learn more. SuvW, German engineered for all. Yeah, so if you heard, it was about five shots, it was a big pop, and then four pops after that, and one of the officers were shot in his vest, as you guys know already. And of course, the Secret Service, as you heard, is protecting their protocols. I think the average American citizen would probably still wonder, how does a guy like that even access the lobby? And other people had said, because of their experience of attending this event,
Starting point is 00:07:39 that they were never patted down. There was no actual security. People were not checked for weapons. And the shooter even himself celebrated the idea that he had accessed this area the day previously. Now, anyone who's been to a major event, like a rally for the president, it takes forever to get in. They do patch you down.
Starting point is 00:07:58 They check your purse and everything. So what's difference, I guess, what is the difference between this White House correspondence dinner and the rallies you would attend with the president? It's really interesting. Okay, let's go to this clip. This is the president this morning saying this. I hope that we can have it within a short period of time, whether it's 30 days or a little less, a little more.
Starting point is 00:08:18 But I hope we can do it with that because we can't let these criminals and these really bad people change the course of events in our country. We have to, you know, it's an important event. That was going to be an important event. I mean, I was going to get up and make an entirely different speech. I was going to really rip it last night. I was talking about everybody. And then I said, well, my speech is going to be much different. It will be a speech of love. But I didn't get a chance to do that. Probably I was better off if I didn't. I don't know. But I think it's important. and, you know, you're a president who headed chairman or president. She did really a good job.
Starting point is 00:08:57 I was sad in a way because she works so hard, and she's a good person. CBS, as you know, was the lead. I think you're going to be the lead next year. But I think it's very, and I look forward to in the year 28, you're going to have a ballroom that's the top of the line security. You're not going to have problems like this. So now that you guys know everything that happened, And let's get into the reactions at this point.
Starting point is 00:09:21 And this is why I said at the very beginning, it continues to demonstrate not only the delusion that our words and how impactful they are on certain Americans, but the unwillingness to truly accept responsibility for what we say and what we do. I don't deny that both sides are tribal. There's a lot of toxic statements that are made. But what I just find to be interesting is the people who scream the loudest about how dangerous the president is to our democracy are the same people claiming that we need to bring the temperature down. I'll give you an example of that. This is Hakeem Jeffries saying this earlier today. Violence is never the answer, whether it's targeted at the right, the left, or the center. We have issues that we have to work out amongst each other.
Starting point is 00:10:13 that's embedded in the First Amendment that was being celebrated last night. But what is also embedded in the First Amendment is the right to peacefully protest and to petition the government peacefully. Yeah, so this is your standard politician talking point that is just nothing but robotic and not rooted in reality because he knows his particular party has been hijacked by violent extremists is what I would actually classify. them as. I mean, individuals who are willing to justify violence against their political representatives. Yeah, these are extremists. And they do it because they want to change policy. Now, in some definitions and some perceptions, that is a domestic terrorist. And whether it's the firebombing of Tesla, whether it's the multiple assassination attempts on the president, there's no doubt that we have a faction in our country that are being funded to create chaos
Starting point is 00:11:08 and divisiveness. And we already seen what happened with the SPLC, who pretty much had been funding that over the course of history. But, you know, again, let's do a contrast here. So that's what he had to say this morning. Let's go back to what he just said last week. We are in an era of maximum warfare. Everywhere all the time. The threat right now in this country to the American people are extreme MAGA Republicans.
Starting point is 00:11:41 That's the threat. That's the problem. That's the crisis that we confront. Extreme MAGA Republican. Republican policies are doing violence to the American people. Now, let's just be objectively fair, because DeVorey has called progressives a threat to this country as well. And I say that because they literally do not believe in the way that the Declaration of Independence is constructed. They believe the founding fathers got it wrong, et cetera. You know, that's how I feel about it. But I don't go to the level of calling for these people to be violently neutered or to be attacked.
Starting point is 00:12:22 We have to attack what they believe in with our intellect and electing the right representatives to push back on this stuff. So I just want to be objectively fair because I think everybody's used to where threat. But we know exactly what Hakeem Jeffries and the rest of that party believes. They've been saying it for the past 10 years that the president is a threat to democracy and people who support them are extremists. And you heard them using violence against the people. So anybody would a couple of screws loose would definitely take that for face value and literally believe their life is in danger. I mean, how many times have you seen white liberal women claiming their life is in danger, their rights have been stripped away, and Donald Trump is going to come after their
Starting point is 00:13:02 menstrual cycles. I mean, this is how mentally unwell they have become. Let's go to Jamie Raskin, And here's what he had to say as he tries to conduct mental gymnastics as a reaction. Take a look. Yeah. And you have, as many of your fellow Democrats, have used some heated rhetoric against the president. And do you think twice about that when something like this happens? What rhetoric do you have in mind? Just talking about some of the fact that he, you know, is terrible for this country and so on and so forth.
Starting point is 00:13:34 I understand that that's your Democratic right. But overall, do you have a... personal problem with Donald Trump at all. I mean, I talk about the policies of this administration, the authoritarianism like we saw on display in Minneapolis, where two of our citizens were gunned down in the streets simply for exercising their First Amendment rights, Renee Good, Alex Prady, and others have died in custody. I'm talking about policies. I don't personalize it. And I certainly have never called the press the enemy of the people. I think the press are the people's best friend. And that's why it's written right there into the First Amendment.
Starting point is 00:14:11 We need the press to be a vigilant watchdog against every level of government, federal, state, local, all of it. Okay, but where was that attitude when COVID happened? You guys were not only shutting people down if they voiced their opposition to COVID. You get service members out of the military over it. You censored anybody who was really a staunch supporter of the president on social media. So I don't think you guys really are all about the freedom of the press. Let's just cover that. And we know how they treat it conservative outlets.
Starting point is 00:14:41 Okay, they were not even allowed on White House grounds under the Biden administration. So again, rules for the, not for me, right? I mean, I think that's the term here. And none of you guys are surprised by this, obviously. So the other disheartening thing is, again, these media outlets are now going to the gun control talking point. Maybe that's the source of the problem here. So let's go to Margaret Brennan speaking. with the now acting attorney general of the United States.
Starting point is 00:15:10 Todd Blanche, take a look. So the alleged shooter, as we just said, had multiple weapons in his possession. Here in the District of Columbia, open carry is not permitted. You just said he traveled from California across the country by train. At this point, are you thinking at the federal level of changing security protocols in any way to, for example, match on trains what you are expected to go through when you fly? where you do have to declare a weapon when you cross state lines. How did he travel by train without any challenge and arrive here in the nation's capital?
Starting point is 00:15:46 Look, this isn't about, in my mind, changing the law or making the laws more restrictive around possession of firearms. It appears he purchased these firearms the past couple years. We don't know how those firearms ended up in his possession in D.C. We can make some assumptions based upon what I just said about how he got to D.C. but I don't think the narrative here is about changing laws or changing making making our laws more restrictive. This is about law enforcement who are doing their jobs and a suspect who tried to do something and failed miserably. Well, I'm not talking about changing the law in terms of possession of a firearm. I'm asking about crossing state lines with that firearm and arriving the Capitol.
Starting point is 00:16:26 If you try to fly, you do have to have your firearms declared in some way. You don't when you get on a train. Look, you are talking about, I mean, if we're asking the question that's talking about changing the laws, and I don't think that's something that we should be focused on right now in any way, shape, or form. So Margaret wants to focus on gun laws, particularly crossing state lines with firearms. Obviously, conservatives are for smaller government, so we wouldn't actually believe in a program that would make our Second Amendment even more restrictive, that would create more government programs to crack down on people crossing state lines.
Starting point is 00:16:59 I don't think we would actually support something like that. And here's the bottom line to it, folks. What she should be focusing on is the continuous heated rhetoric and politics and calling it out. And in case you guys need a reminder, listen to this. The former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Mark Milley said, no one has ever been more dangerous to this country than Donald Trump, and he is a fascist to his core. Let that sink in and don't be a damn bit afraid of saying it because that's exactly who he is. There's highly disturbing allegations of Donald Trump raping children, of Donald Trump threatening
Starting point is 00:17:41 to kill children. And obviously, those statements were in the manifesto itself. So, I mean, when you have direct correlation to show that, okay, here's what politicians are saying, those exact same statements are in this manifesto. So maybe Margaret Brennan should be focused on that and not necessarily about how the government is able to cross state lines. It is the United States of America. I think people can cross state lines.
Starting point is 00:18:04 I mean, okay. I think I said it up. Let's go to Scott Jennings as we get into more reactions, this time from more commentators, really. Here's what he had to say. This guy's obviously another of these left-wing lunatics who's come to kill the president. Three assassination attempts on the president now.
Starting point is 00:18:25 Charlie is dead. You have people on the left lionizing Luigi Mangione. Well, there's a bar in Wisconsin. Let me finish. You have polling showing a tolerance for political violence on the left. And I heard Hakeem Jeffrey say this week, it's maximum warfare all the time. We have a violent streak on the left and a rhetoric problem on the left, and it must be acknowledged today. When I was at the Department of Justice, what we found is after the 2020 election, there was a significant rise of threats to all elected leaders.
Starting point is 00:18:54 State legislators, some who were killed, to our president, Joe Biden at the time, Barack Obama, someone tried to go into his residence. This is a problem. Who's the president? How many assassination attempts? There are several assassination attempts to other presidents that were not successful. I agree. It should be investigated about why they continue. What are the failures in the secret?
Starting point is 00:19:14 And the Democratic, and just quickly, the Speaker of the House in Minnesota, a Democrat, lost her life to political violence this past number. This is not solely a problem on the left. It is a problem across the board. It is a rising crisis. Don't count play at this point. It is rising crisis. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:19:29 So when we put things in perspective, we have to start asking the, question, what is really causing this? Because we've been heated regarding politics for a very long time in this country. I mean, what's really changed over the past 20 years, right? Well, I'll tell you what's changed. Social media has changed. You see, today, all you need is five minutes on a social media platform and it will have you programmed or it will cram certain information down your throat because you engage with it for five seconds. Imagine what it is doing to the average American out there. How addicted are you to this thing right here? Now combine your addiction to this thing, to your addiction to a social media platform. You know how much money they spend making us addicted to this?
Starting point is 00:20:14 I don't think most people really appreciate that. Unless you exercise the conscious will to turn it off, unless you exercise your mental faculties to decline certain information you see on social media, you're not going to be able to stop it. And there are people out there who are already mentally unwell. have a mental illness in our country regarding politics. You put social media with that and you amplify it. Speaking of the acting attorney general, you heard him just tell me that this should be a wake-up call for Congress to fund DHS. Does Congress need to act in the wake of this incident to fully fund DHS? Absolutely. We've been funding the Democrats have been saying we want to fund DHS. We just don't want to fund ICE agents with the ICE raids against American citizens.
Starting point is 00:21:03 and against immigrants in ways that broke the law. But the Democrats have said that we will fund DHS as long as you separate that from the ICE funding, and we have done that many, many times. So there's that clip about policy-wise what Democrats will refuse to do. And there are consequences to the way that they're governing at this point or refusing to govern. I guess that would probably be a better way to putting it. But if we circle back on social media, because I want to make sure my point is clear here, guys. Maybe you and me, we have the intellect and the discernment and the emotional intelligence to reject a lot of the noise on social media.
Starting point is 00:21:40 You'd be shocked at how many people really don't. Okay. Listen, let's go to the numbers so you guys can see it for yourself, what I'm really talking about here. As you guys know, there was a poll that was conducted about the mental health of our politics here. Let me put this on the screen for you guys. Says it right here. Among very liberal individuals, is it ever justified for citizens to resort to violence in order to achieve political goals? 25%. Add on to among liberals, 17%. So you pretty much had bumped that up to, what is that? 42% people who lean left. So 42% of left-leaning individuals believe using violence is justified in order to achieve political goals. That is the cancer I'm talking about. That is the mental illness I'm talking about.
Starting point is 00:22:34 And it's social media algorithms that are amplifying that type of mindset. Let me show you an example of that mindset itself. This is social media, TikTok, a lefty saying this. I wake up each morning hoping he has died. I go to bed each night, hoping by the time I get up in the morning, he has died. I'm fully convinced that we can't even begin to start fixing any of our problems until he has died. For the love of all things good, just fucking die.
Starting point is 00:23:14 Yeah, so when you see a clip like that, how does it make you feel about our country and where we are going? I'm still overly optimistic, but again, I just think that social media is a cesspool with ideas that are negative to the well-being of our society, they're negative to the well-being of our intellect, and our emotional intelligence. A lot of stuff on social media is just not healthy to consume with repetition every single day.
Starting point is 00:23:38 And that's what's happening here. And then we layer on, obviously, the rhetoric from our politicians, the rhetoric from some institutions, including universities and these professors. And then sometimes the lack of security measures when you have this amount of high-ranking individuals in one location. I mean, it just boggles my mind. Okay. One more final thing I want to discuss, and that's Erica Kurt. So as soon as these shots were heard and people were being escorted out of the room and the building, someone caught a video of her essentially crying and saying that she just wants to go home. Watch this. And so her particular clip is also disturbing because of the reaction that was on social.
Starting point is 00:24:30 media. People were making fun of her. People say that she was faking it. And the way I just want to wrap all this up is what type of world do we live in where someone who gets their husband assassinated in front of the world is not allowed to grieve. And everything that she does is fake according to experts. I mean, that's the world we live in. We live in a world where people believe the president stole the 2024 election because of Elon Musk. We live in a world where people believe that the president's faked all of his assassination attempts. This is where we are, folks. People no longer care about the truth.
Starting point is 00:25:07 They make up the truth because it's in alignment with the way that they feel. And anyone with a high IQ or understands the concept of life knows that the truth in a lot of different ways goes counter to the way that you feel. But in politics, that's not a reality for most folks. So, giving you guys this thoughts in the comments section below, where you're watching this live? What do you make of it? What is your stance about the measures that were taken to secure this building? Do you think they did enough? What do you think about the manifesto?
Starting point is 00:25:42 What do you think of the reactions? Just give you your thoughts, everything you got in the comment section below. Now, yesterday we had posted a video right before this event took place where the peace talks for Iran are now on hold because the trip has been canceled. You guys missed out on that update?
