As Los Angeles continues to fall apart, I mean, she can't show her face anywhere in public without getting booed. And yes, we're going to show you the booze themselves. But this all comes as she has a water main infrastructure. problem and buildings are catching on fire because of homeless encampments. We'll get to those updates in this video as well. Let's just cut to the booze and enjoy it for ourselves.

Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. I cannot hear y'all. All right, let's pause it. So politics, no. People don't go to a DJ quick concert to hear about politics. They don't go there to see the mayor. Okay, that's as clear as day. Now, it'd be one thing if the mayor was a huge DJ,

a quick fan and she's always gone to those concerts. Maybe that makes sense, but that doesn't mean she'd be on stage. This is the problem with Democrats. They always think they can use celebrities, Hollywood, athletes, and, you know, rappers and DJs or twerk experts to get their political message across. It doesn't work. The numbers show that. So as a result of her making this stupid mistake, this is what she got. Yeah, so people didn't want to hear it.

and it makes sense. She was just booed in Boiling Heights. And people are fed up. They're done with her. Now, obviously, because the elections are pretty much rigged in Los Angeles or California, that is, she's going to have a chance. You know, we'll see who wins. But this is what you get, okay?

This is why I say local elections matter. You vote for a communist. You get bad results. You vote for someone who, in my opinion, has poor executional skills, poor communication skills. If you're the male of Los Angeles, she sucks at communicating. This is what happens.

Sooner or later, people turn on you. And part of the reason why is because LA continues to fall apart. So let me show an example of that. This is downtown vacant buildings that are catching on fire repeatedly. Only on Fox 11 tonight, downtown Los Angeles block

has become a repeat fire zone. Vacant buildings on South Hope Street have caught fire over and over again. Neighbors say they're tired of watching the same block burn. Fox 11th Matthew Cedar, live there tonight with more. Matthew.

Like I've seen, residents out here are angry. You can see them out here. They saw it record about an hour ago. They're chanting stop the fires or fire rotto, which is the council member. But it feels like a war zone. Just take a look at the destruction inside from the front to the back of the building.

and neighbors say the fires keep happening. A block of downtown L.A. that keeps being set on fire. Neighbors recording as flames ripped through one vacant building after another. My building is about to catch on fire. I don't think they are doing anything. Like, they don't really care. That intense fire took place. Less than two months ago, we first exclusively reported on this problem and concerns from nearby residents.

Keep happening. Neighbors worry it's going to happen again. Of course it's going to happen again. And the reason why it's going to happen again is because this isn't the priority of the mayor. For whatever reason, these mayors are way in over their head. And because they are, they're diverting financial resources to things that are not going to improve the well-being of the people they say that they care about. So we know the infrastructure is not priority number one. We know cleaning up homeless encampments are not priority.

Number one. It's funding LGBTQ programs. It's issuing virtue signaling messages. It's essentially doing everything except the very thing you are elected to do. It's the same principle of Hollywood. They do everything except the very thing that would make the movie great, right? That's what's happening here. Drop everything. Pretty eye-opening to see this building has burned right here, another one, and then right across the street, one more.

There's an invasion of addicts and people that are just break into properties and make it their home, and then fires erupt. I wonder why that is. Why are people on the street finding vacant buildings and sending them on fire? I mean, they're homeless. Oh, that's right, because her homeless program is a failure. Again, just because you spend a lot of money doesn't mean it's going to solve the problems. Now, anybody in business knows this principle.

Spending more money doesn't mean you'll make more money and doesn't mean it'll make your business more efficient. In fact, sometimes it could have the opposite effect. If you have too much money, sometimes you're not forced to figure it out because you think money will just solve the problem. It's a tough lesson to learn as an entrepreneur, actually. In fact, I find that most businesses that start with too much capital, they are destined to fail, essentially.

They're not in a position to figure it out. They don't have to be nimble. They don't have to second guess every choice that they're making financially. They just spend the money. That's what's happening in most cities, by the way. They don't really have people questioning where the money's going. There's no accountability about where the money is going. And you know why that is?

It's because it's not the mayor's money. It's the people of Los Angeles. It's their money. The people of Los Angeles was stopped being so bitchy about the president to start focusing on what's happening in their own city, in their own communities. Maybe they'd have a fighting chance. But that's not what...

While on the roof, another person seems to be crawling in. People in the building have written to counsel woman,

Perado, but as far as I know, she hasn't taken any action. Neighbors say the fires keep moving further down the street, and they worry without action, the destruction will continue. The city government needs to do a lot more than they seem to be doing, right? We did reach out to Councilmember Harado's office so far. We haven't heard back. Residents out here, though, definitely demanding change. Are you guys upset tonight?

I think that's definitely, yes. A lot downtown. Matthew Cedar, Fox 11 minutes. Yeah. All right. The scene there downtown. So, yeah, council, excuse me, council member, Harado, it's a woman, actually.

Get this. Just so you guys understand who's responsible for this, this is fascinating. You just can't make this stuff up. I think you're going to understand why this issue is never going to be fixed just based on this. Look at this. Council member, Isabelle Horado, is a former tenant's right attorney, affordable housing activist, single mom, daughter of undocumented Filipino immigrants. Just stop right there. I think that's everything you need to know about what she stands for.

And I'm not in the business of judging people as if they're the worst thing on the planet. I'm not doing that. What I'm saying is, based on the first sentence of this biography of her, I think we know exactly what's going on here and why those fires are not going to stop. She's affordable housing activists. Maybe that's why those buildings are vacant. Okay, born and raised in Highland Park. She attended Pasadena City College and put herself through college at UCLA. where she completed her bachelor's degree.

I wonder what she got a degree in. After graduating, she went on to UCLA School of Law. Oh, where she graduated with a jurist doctorate with a specializations in critical race studies. You can't make it up. Sorry. You can't make it up. So we're dealing with a single mother, PhD,

specializing in critical race studies, and you think she's going to fix those fires? Absolutely not. And she's a housing rights attorney. I wonder how that's working out for that district. Doesn't look like it's working. Here we go. She focuses on expanding affordable housing,

ending homelessness, supporting small businesses, tackling the climate crisis, and building a more just economy for all. Sure looks like a just economy to me. I wonder what the real estate value is on that street. And the small businesses. I wonder how that's,

working out for them. Now it takes us to the second issue why LA has fallen apart, which is the infrastructure regarding the water mains. Now, the basic concept around this, in case you're not familiar, the water is traveling underneath the roads and the buildings in Los Angeles, okay, the water system, that is. And what's happened is the water system was installed literally over 100 years ago. It was installed like in 1908 and 1911, okay? So, it's very old. And the problem is, every mayor since whenever essentially has not actually replaced them in full. What they've been doing is patching them up. And we already know, patching does not sound like something that's permanent, right? So what's been happening is once

they burst, because they're so old, it'll flood the local neighborhood. Their waters get turned off so they have no water, so they can't cook or eat any food, essentially. Electricity goes off in some cases, and it's a slow response. And that's why I said Los Angeles is falling apart, and that's why they're fed up with her. Let's take a look at this. Saturday afternoon, Los Angeles firefighters were called to the 200 block of Grand Boulevard where water was spilling into the streets.

LA fire crews responded first before turning the scene over to the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power. LADWP says a six-inch cast-iron water main broke near Main street, leaving 67 water services impacted as crews were to repair the line. It's just like start to gush, and by the time we circled the block, it was like a river. It was dumping water probably for a couple hours before anyone even came to check on it. For many here, the scene felt all too familiar. A few days ago, a massive water main break in West Hollywood damaged hundreds of vehicles

in over a dozen apartment homes, leaving residents cleaning up the mess. Neighbors say they're worried. This could be the start of a troubling trend. Okay, hold on. I want you guys to look at this again. Guys, this is Los Angeles. This isn't North Carolina after the hurricane. This isn't Florida after the hurricane. This isn't South Carolina after a hurricane. This is Los Angeles. A massive water main break in West Hollywood damaged hundreds of vehicles in over a dozen apartment homes, leaving residents cleaning up the mess. Neighbors say they're worried. This could be the start of a troubling trend. I feel like we pay so much in tax dollars here in Los Angeles, I would think they would be able to fix all these things. They're not fixing until it breaks.

That seems to be the problem. They're not proactive. They're reactive. Hmm. And that's why some people argue the elections are rigged, because the people of Los Angeles, when you interview them, they've been upset at multitude of things. It proves that because Karen Bass only got 30% of the vote. I think that's a huge indictment on her. I think that's a data point that proves that they're finished with her.

But for some reason, Spencer Pratt did not advance, and I think we know what the reason is. But having said all that, yeah, you're right. Your tax dollars are going to a lot. And what are you getting in return? However, why don't we find out what the answer is from the mayor? Because she's in charge. So she went on to the local affiliate, KTLA, or actually Los Angeles's own news network. And she made excuses.

So we hope soon, I will tell you that they were closing the leak, and then another one happened. And so they'll have a better sense by noon today. But the hope is it'll be in a couple of days. But I just have to tell you, going on that scene, as you have shown, especially the aerial views, I was fearful it was going to take weeks and weeks. I was shocked that they were actually going to be able to repair it sooner than later. But, you know, it is one of the consequences of the fact that Los Angeles City, the nation's second largest city, has never had a comprehensive infrastructure plan. I wonder why that is.

You've been the mayor. Why haven't you passed one? Why haven't you implemented one? Why haven't you executed on one? Why didn't you run on that? It's almost as if they tell on themselves without realizing it. I mean, look at these vehicles. They're literally, some of them probably were definitely damaged.

I wonder how long it's going to take for them to figure that out. They didn't do anything wrong, but they're paying a hefty tax for living there. And you guys already know how I feel about all that. I wouldn't even live there, by the way. I guess I'm a little bit more radical in this issue. I just wouldn't put my family through stuff like this. I'm not saying taxes is perfect, but I just don't believe there's a return on investment living in California at this point, not in these areas, that is.

I mean, there may be some other areas that I would, if I had to live in California, there would be other areas I would live in. and although it might be expensive, I think it would still be worth it. All right, so this takes us to where the mayor essentially has an awkward moment here because she's asked about the infrastructure and she was posed a valid question about all of this

and here's what she said. Look at your infrastructure plan. It's quite long and detailed. It seems to be focused on how things are done or the priorities that you choose whatever you're going to be improving. and not with the money. It doesn't seem to identify money to speed up these projects.

And we're talking about, for example, with water mains. There's 7,400 miles of water mains in the city of Los Angeles, some of them dating back 110, 120 years. We're only going to be replacing 45 miles of the 7,400 this year. That's like less than 1%. If you do the math, it will take 164 years. Well, and also the issue there is how we speed that up. Well, where does the money come from?

Hold on. With our new general manager, he is looking at going much, much faster. But I will tell you an infrastructure plan, the other role I serve is on the Metro board. Fail, fail, fail, fail. Where's the money going to come from and how are you going to use the money? It's a very simple question. And the fact that this reporter knew the numbers better than she did, I mean, that's one lesson from the military. when you had to present to the commander at any time,

you better know your damn numbers. And if you are the commander of your troops, you better know your numbers. I mean, I've seen where an 05 chewed out a captain because the captain, he asked him a simple question. Well, what's the numbers on this? Oh, I don't know. How do you not know?

You're in charge. Even if you're not the guy who goes find the numbers, her aid, right, the people she's paying a lot of money to, they should have slipped her a one-page sheet that said, here's the numbers. And when they ask her that question, yeah, let's see here. According to the numbers here, this is how much we're planning to spend. This is why we're only doing less than 1% now.

This is why it's necessary to, she does not have any answers.
