Starting point is 00:00:00 In today's video, Mayor Mondani just made a huge announcement regarding government-owned grocery stores in the city. Eric Swalwell, a couple of members of the Democrat Party, are refusing to commit to the idea of expelling him. And the president has a public beef with Pope Leo. So much to get to in this video. But let's start with Mondani and his announcement. Take a listen. During our campaign, we promised New Yorkers that we would create a network of five city-owned grocery stores, one in each borough. today we make good on that promise.
Starting point is 00:00:31 I am proud to announce that we will open every single one of these stores by the end of our first term. And the first one will open next year. So New York City Mayor is over on Mom Dani announces the first in a series of city-owned grocery stores. The mayor is celebrating the first 100 days in office and says he's delivering on a campaign promise to bring down the cost of living for New Yorkers. But Mom Doni's socialist agenda is facing some harsh reality checks as he stares down a budget deficit. And Democratic strategist, Melissa DeRosa, also an author, and Rich Zioly, host of the Rich Zioly podcast. We're both here. You know the city well.
Starting point is 00:01:09 He said this on Sunday about this call for number one, about what he needed to do with the city. I have thought often of the Margaret Chatter's quote. The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people. money. If anything, my friends, it seems that you eventually need a socialist to clean up the mess. What this really should be called is the first hundred days of a disaster is what this rally should have been called from the mayor because it has been a disaster. I don't believe that's hyperbole. I mean, every week we have a story coming out of New York City that happens to be either fatal or another case of the government there, essentially, and excuse my language, raping New Yorkers
Starting point is 00:01:54 for their hard-earned money. How else do you explain what he's done? We know he doesn't care for the police. He doesn't care for the veterans, but he does care for illegal aliens. He does care for, obviously, Muslims. He definitely sympathizes with terrorists. So 100 days of a disaster is what I would call it.
Starting point is 00:02:16 And listen, I don't live in New York. Maybe some of you guys do, so maybe I'm wrong, and you can prove me otherwise. But when you're talking about capping rents, raising property taxes, taxing the wealthy, then you're going to introduce a government-owned grocery store, which we know was already tried in Kansas City, didn't work. They went out of business. We know you had to take a step back from these bus fees that you wanted to waive and make it free to travel on the bus in New York City. You had to step back from that because in his own words, he said that New York City is worse than broke. From a financial point of view, we'll fix that. Socialism violates all financial literacy principles. We know that. Let's continue.
Starting point is 00:03:00 How's Keir Starrmer doing in the UK? I mean, that's kind of crazy. Last week he had to announce that city buses, free buses are not going to happen, but he's got one grocery store. He's going to get it open? Well, I mean, listen, Zora Mamdami ran a con of a campaign where 50% of New Yorkers believed him that everything was going to be free. And here we are, 100 days later.
Starting point is 00:03:21 there's no free daycare or any path to it. He had to admit that his free bus program is not going to happen. And now he's quickly pivoting to say, I'm going to have one city-run grocery store, and that's going to show everyone that I can deliver on my promises, and we are going to have lower cost of eggs, and we are going to have lower cost of milk. But I think that it's sad, and someone should probably slip him a copy of a history book about the USSR, or he could, I don't know, look to Kansas City, Missouri
Starting point is 00:03:48 where this experiment was tried and failed. The cost of groceries is not expensive because grocery store owners have runaway profit margins. On average, it's about a percent and a half. John Katz and Matidis will tell you they operate at a loss in New York City. Wow. What we're talking about is inflation. And so this is a guy who could never be accused as being a modern day Isaac Newton. The math doesn't math.
Starting point is 00:04:12 It doesn't pencil out and it's going to be another failure. Even if half of what he says is true, it still financially will be a failure for New York City. See, he doesn't want to do the hard right. We talked about this last week. Hard right, easy wrong. I think it defines exactly the type of leader you want to be in life. The hard right for Zoroamandani would be to get rid of illegal immigration, to get rid of housing illegal aliens in his city, to stop funding that mess.
Starting point is 00:04:39 If you want to make bus travel free, if you want to provide free child care, if you want to have a government-owned grocery store, you've got to pay for it, but you can't pay for that. And then also foot the bill regarding illegal immigration and particularly sanctuary city policies. They're financially damaging. And so she's right. The math is not going to add up on this. And it would be too uncomfortable, especially for what he ran on, for him to make a hard decision like that. I think it's an easy one, in my opinion.
Starting point is 00:05:12 I mean, you're already elected. There's no going back. You might as well just do the right thing. But hey, that's another thing, right? The ongoing spotlight on Mamdani's public safety ideas comes as high-profile cases linger on the minds of New Yorkers. Yesterday, there was a triple stabbing at Manhattan's Grand Central Terminal. Thankfully, the victims are expected to survive. Other campaign promises like city-run grocery stores are tax hikes on the wealthy are stalled up in state politics or budget talks.
Starting point is 00:05:42 Namely, New York Governor Kathy Hogle has said she disagrees with raising taxes on the wealthiest New York. workers. Yeah, that's, he's spot on about that because this whole hundred days of a disaster rally that he hosted, he also brought out Bernie Sanders, who's clearly benefited from capitalism, even though every day he tries to rage against it. And he wants to go after the oligarchs, which I'm not saying oligarchs don't exist. And I'm not saying that we should find ways to diminish their control over the economy. I think that's fair. But the way he goes about it is so hypocritical. It's not even funny. But anyways, he was brought out on stage and he had a whole little intro and I think you guys will find it hilarious.
Starting point is 00:06:25 So watch this. I think two of the leadership of Mayor Bernie Sanders of Burlington, Vermont. Truly sorry that he can't be here with us today. Cost of living isn't just high thanks to Democrats. It could be exhausting. As you guys know, people still have PTSD from the previous administration. And there's a lot of Americans out there that have been leaning in on credit cards. lately just to cover basic things like groceries, gas, and utility bills. You're essentially
Starting point is 00:07:33 paying a survival tax of 20% interest or more. Why keep handing your hard-earned paycheck to the big banks when you can keep it in your family? This is why if you're a homeowner out there, my friends at American financing, have a better way. They're helping homeowners tap into their equity to pay off high-interest debt with mortgage rates currently in the fives. On average, American financing is saving their customers $800 a month. That's nearly $10,000 a year back in your pocket. It's not just a loan. It's a total financial reset. It only takes 10 minutes to speak to them and find out if this is something that fits for you and what you have going on. So here's the bottom line. Start today. You could even delay two mortgage payments. Call American financing 866 890
Starting point is 00:08:18 9392. That is 866 890-932 or go to Americanfinancing.net 4 slash DeVore. or you can click the link in the description below. Let's go to our next story. Hopefully this is a little bit more positive, if that makes sense. We're talking about Eric Swalwell, which I think is a great segue, because the positive side to his story,
Starting point is 00:08:40 he's officially dropped out of the governor's race. Now, some say this is coordinated. I mean, if you think and you witness all of the reactions, the statements, the timing, it's as if they all knew it was coming and they were ready to push the button called post. right? So it's really interesting. But at any rate, he finally said that he's dropping out. And what I want to get into first is Democrats still refusing to accept the idea that he should be expelled from Congress. Let's start with this first one.
Starting point is 00:09:10 You do know one of the issues that could very well come to the floor is the issue of Democratic Congressman Eric Swalwell, who's dropped out of the California governor's race accused by four women and sexual misconduct, including one woman accusing him of rape. He's denied those allegations. If there is a vote that comes to the floor to expel Eric Swalwell, how will you vote? Yeah, based on the allegations that have come out and on his own comments where he seemed to have admitted some form of wrongdoing, though he didn't specify, I think he should probably resign. And I'll have to see evidence before I vote to expel. The allegations are incredibly serious, but I got to look at it very closely because expelling a member of Congress is, is, a big move. We've done it twice now in my career in Congress. Both times it was after the person in question had actually been found, well, in one case found guilty. That was Jim's James Traffick way back in the day. And then Santos. George Santos. That was an, the ethics committee
Starting point is 00:10:15 had reached a finding. Okay. It wasn't just an allegation. This seems very damning. I think it probably will lead to that, but I want to look at the evidence before I substitute my judgment for the judgement of the voters who elected Eric Swaller or anyone else for that matter. So Representative Adam Smith, if only he always had that response to everything as far as damning information is concerned. We know he wouldn't speak that way if this information was in relation to the president. If you had 50 former staffers coming out and accusing the president of rape, you think he'd be saying, yeah, I want to wait until we reach a guilty verdict before doing something.
Starting point is 00:10:52 they'd be looking to invoke the 25th Amendment. Hell, they're already looking to invoke the 25th Amendment over a truth social post. So no, I don't buy into that. But see, this is where they get to continue to show us their true colors, people. I'm telling you, this at some level has to be coordinated against Eric Swallow. Either they said, we don't want you being the governor of California, and he refused to listen. Okay, or this just happens to be a coincidence, right? And he was defiant.
Starting point is 00:11:20 So they said, you know what? We're going to take care of you. Don't worry. You don't want to listen to us? We'll find a way. And they've been very effective. All right, let's go to this other representative, or excuse me, Senator, take a listen. Fellow Democrat, he's in the House, Eric Swalwell. He's facing allegations right now of sexual misconduct and assault, Senator, allegations he denies. He just dropped his bid for governor of California overnight over this.
Starting point is 00:11:45 He's now facing calls to resign his house seat. You are a leader in your party, and you have seen quite a lot from your colleagues in the many years that you've served. Do you think that he should resign from Congress or face expulsion? Well, I certainly think given the number of, given the people who have come forward his former staffers and raise these allegations that they must be investigated and have found true, and I think we need to give the victims the benefit of the doubt, if found true, then he should resign. some of your colleagues many are there's a growing number who are not waiting to see an investigation
Starting point is 00:12:29 take place they think in light of what has been already alleged that they would like to see him resign in face of it you you are not there yet well i think he needs to answer to his constituents and to his colleagues but i do think as i said we need to listen when victims come forward who have been sexually assaulted or raped. I think victims who allege inappropriate behavior need to be listened to. And it needs to be done in a way that provides for a real investigation and real consequences
Starting point is 00:13:10 if found guilty. Now, let's take a step back and get into a life lesson for the men out there, especially the younger men. I never, and I'll just tell you guys a personal story. I never understood, and this is my own personality, by the way, so take it for what it is. I never understood how men could manage multiple personalities when it comes to women, meaning dating multiple women at the same time and managing their personalities and their relationships. I never had the energy for that.
Starting point is 00:13:41 I could never have the patient. Listen, I tell my wife, I only have patience for you. I don't have patience for another one of you. I can't do that. I'm so focused on this show and my purpose and the calling God has given me. I don't got time for that. But for some reason, there are men out there that I guess they do have time for that. They just can't get enough.
Starting point is 00:14:02 And the lesson here is that women are clear downfall for men. There's no doubt about it, sex and lust and all this other stuff. There's a reason why the Bible talks about it. Now, this isn't a sermon. This is just plain common sense, high performance, success principles, timeless. women can be a serious distraction. In some ways, it's sadly predictable. You know, man behaves extremely badly as it relates to women.
Starting point is 00:14:33 We have seen this bring down lots and lots of members of Congress. On the other hand, though, Markey, the stakes here are significant, right? I mean, this is the governorship of California. This is the frontrunner. Now, not huge frontrunner, but frontrunner to be. be in one of the final two slots in the general election. This is happening. I'm looking at my calendar, you know, six weeks before the June 2nd primary.
Starting point is 00:15:01 So this really shakes up a race for governor and, you know, the impact in Congress is real. I think there's going to be an effort to potentially expel Swalwell. There may be pressure on, um, um, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, Democrats to call for his resignation from Congress, not just, not just, you know, dropping out of the governor's race. And obviously, the numbers are extremely close, right? I think Republicans currently have a two-seat majority. So any variance in that makes a very big deal. Right, you're showing this. So Tony Gonzalez and Corey Mills, both Republicans and Sheila Sherylis McCormick, another Democrat. We could have four expulsion votes this week in Congress. Now, it takes a two-thirds majority to expel
Starting point is 00:15:48 someone unlikely but not impossible. And again, that could throw majority control. So there's just a lot going. Yeah. So I don't know how you guys feel about Corey Mills or Tony Gonzalez or McCormick or Swalwell. But there's more of them in Congress currently today. Still getting away with sexual assault. Still getting away with corruption.
Starting point is 00:16:07 Still getting away with insider trading. This is just the surface level stuff, guys. So excuse me, if I'm not buying into this accountability as it relates to Eric Swalwell. I think the establishment has targeted him and he'll be, they'll do whatever they got to do with him. And maybe they'll find someone they want to replace him with. But accountability in Congress, I think they're opposites of each other. Let's go to CNN because, you know, they like to hop on this and run their little polls and number analytics. And here's an example of that.
Starting point is 00:16:39 Take a list. People were really paying attention. So, you know, you look at these members of Congress, right? But just take a look at the Google searches in California. Look at this. Google searches for Swalwell in California, up 3,200% versus last week. This was an all-time high over the last four days. As soon as these allegations hit the press, Eric Swalwell, Google searches went up because the members, the voters in California were realizing this. The members of Congress were realizing this, and they recognized Eric Swolewell on the campaign that there was no escaping this.
Starting point is 00:17:10 All eyes were on him and in a very negative way. So people are looking at California polls the last several months. Everyone was all bunched up. You know, Swallow might have had a slight lead at the very end there. But what now? What are the prediction market
Starting point is 00:17:21 saying now? You know, all I can say is, I don't know what's going to happen next in California, but if you look at the cash your prediction market, look at this. Tom Steyer, who has spent
Starting point is 00:17:29 a ton of money. You might remember him if you remember the Democratic campaign back in 2020. He ran on Thursday at a 29% chance, now a 56% chance. So he's a majority favorite, but a bare majority favorite.
Starting point is 00:17:42 So if we're looking for the bottom line here, there has to be some political advantage to why they were so coordinated here and getting rid of Eric Swalwell out of this race. And the only one that we could come up with is that it would help them win the California governorship. I'm talking about Democrats. Maybe it's too crowded. There's too many Democrats in there. They're taking votes away from each other. We've got to get rid of the guy. We really don't want to put our money behind. And that's Eric Swalwell. Let's get them out of it. That is just one theory, of course. Okay. So let's go to this final clip. This is Nancy Pelosi, year of 2020, saying this
Starting point is 00:18:15 about Eric Swalwell after he was discovered he was sleeping with a Chinese spy. I don't have any concern about Mr. Swalwell. There are those in the Congress who believe, and I am among them, that we should be seeing what influence the Chinese. I've been fighting them, as you know, for over 30 years in terms of their undue influence at universities in our country and the overtures they try to make to members of Congress. In terms of Mr. Swalwell, in the spring of 2015, the leadership of the House and the committee were informed that overtures from a Chinese person were being made to members of Congress. When that was made known to the members of Congress, it was over.
Starting point is 00:19:07 You know, that was the end of any communication with those people. So it isn't, I don't, I think we should make sure that everybody knows what they are being subjected to. But I don't know that it means that we have the background checks for every intern who comes into the Capitol. Well, I'm wondering how she feels today. Oh, yeah, that's right. She's already called for him to resign as governor, but not as a member of Congress. So we'll see if that's where this ends up going. Now, next story is more controversy. This time it's on the president's side. He put up a photo of projecting him, as some people perceived it as Jesus, and healing the nation. This is a meme. He didn't create it. Someone else on social media creates it. So he takes it. He posts on true social. And then this comes as there's this public spat between him and Pope Leo. Now, as we get into this story, two things I think are very apparent to me. Number one, this is just another latest example of the president distracting the
Starting point is 00:20:06 media from what he wants them to talk about. And sometimes he just does it by using true social. I wouldn't post it, obviously. And secondly, this also demonstrates why sometimes religious leaders should just stay out of politics. Let's go here. Did you post that picture of yourself depicted as Jesus Christ? Well, it wasn't a picture. It was me. I did post it. And I thought it was me as a doctor and had to do with Red Cross as a Red Cross worker there, which we support, and only the fake news could come up with that one. So I had just heard about it, and I said, how do they come up with that? It's supposed to be me as a doctor, making people better.
Starting point is 00:20:49 And I do make people better. I make people a lot better. As an example, the 11,000, I understand your husband's going through treatment. Yes, sir. Yes, sir. He's going through some very serious cancer treatment. Yes. This goes a long way.
Starting point is 00:21:04 Yes, sir. It sure does. All right. So here is that photo that we were talking about here. As you guys can see. So, you know, people perceive that as him mocking Jesus or God. I don't believe he was truly mocking Jesus, if that makes sense. And then, of course, people fired back and said, hey, if you guys are outraged about that, then you have to be outraged about this.
Starting point is 00:21:28 This is trans activists portraying the Last Supper. at the Olympics a few years ago. But, you know, at the end of the day, I wouldn't post this. And I also wouldn't waste my time firing back at Pope Leo. And that's what the president did as well, is he basically called Pope Leo a loser because he's soft on illegal immigration. And he's not the only pope to do that, by the way. I don't understand their fascination or their obsession with encouraging illegal immigration.
Starting point is 00:21:58 I might be wrong. Maybe I'm naive on this particular topic as far as Christianity is concerned. I just don't get it. I mean, technically, there's a border when it comes to heaven. Not everybody can get it. I mean, if that's happening at the highest level that we're going to end up, hopefully we're blessed to ascend to, what's wrong with having borders in our own country? Okay.
Starting point is 00:22:19 So the president had to say what he called, he called Pope Leo a loser. So then they ask him about it today to see if he would apologize for it. And he did it. Take a listen. He asked him to owe Pope Leo an apology. No, I don't because Pope Leo said things that are wrong. He was very much against what I'm doing with regard to Iran, and you cannot have a nuclear Iran. Pope Leo would not be happy with the end result.
Starting point is 00:22:46 You have hundreds of millions of people dead, and it's not going to happen. So I can't. I think he's very weak on crime and other things. So I'm not. I mean, he went public. I'm just responding to Pope Leo. And you know his brother is a big, mega person, and he's a great guy, Lewis. And I said, I like Lewis better than I like the Pope.
Starting point is 00:23:06 Now, you have to have law and order in our country, and that's what we have now. We have the lowest crime numbers we've had in a long time, despite the fact that many criminals were allowed into our country, but we've gotten a lot of them out. We've done a great job on crime. So we have the lowest murder rate in 125 years since 1900, the lowest murder rate. the lowest murder rate. So we believe strongly in law and order. And he, he seemed to have a problem with that. So there's nothing to apologize for. He's wrong. And the other thing is he didn't like
Starting point is 00:23:40 what we're doing with respect to Iran. But Iran is a, uh, wants to be a nuclear nation. So they can exterminate the world. Not going to happen. So again, I wouldn't post that because I just don't think it works. I don't think you can defend it. This is why the post has since been removed. By the way, it's gone. It's no longer on his true social account because it's just one of those things where, one, you shouldn't post it. Two, you shouldn't even be in a position to have to explain it or defend it. I get the meme part of it, right? Because we see this every single day on the internet, particularly on X. And, you know, it's funny in some ways, depending on the memes you see. but I don't think we really want to see that from the president.
Starting point is 00:24:25 But that doesn't mean we throw him out of the window and say he's a loser and we should cast them down, you know, as Democrats would love to do. But the fact that they were moved that, I think, kind of sums up the awareness that they have for this particular issue in the backlash that the president received. Now, Pope Leo responding to this, saying that it's his duty to speak out on these issues and to advocate for the scripture and what the scripture says about. peace. But, you know, in a larger sense, we do have election cycles coming up. Catholics, they're looking to the Pope as their leader, along with, you know, the president of the United States being a leader. How do you think this will play, at least for the billions of Catholics around the world? Yeah, I didn't have president railing against Pope on my dance card, right, when I woke up this morning.
Starting point is 00:25:17 I think that there's a lot of folks who will just kind of discount this, right? There's a Trump element here, right? So a lot of people will look and go, ah, it's President Trump. Of course, it's late in the evening, and he's going to do this on social media so they can discount it. I don't think they'll be overly offended. There's another element, right, that takes everything he says literally. And those individuals will, I suspect, be somewhat offended if they're Catholic or, you know, Catholic light. it's it's not a surprise that a pope any pope would come out and talk about peace
Starting point is 00:25:52 in relation to the scriptures or to the church or to the global good however they want to to phrase it so that shouldn't be a surprise to anyone but it is right in line with president Trump's you know sort of bombat analogy yeah it's just the way he does things so I you know I think those that, you know, appreciate that, you know, that nature of Trump, I think they're not going to be offended if they're Catholic. And I think they're, again, there's always an element that's offended by anything. I actually agree with that. I don't think anybody should be shocked because we know who President Trump is. We know what he likes to do with true social. I think it's a tool that he uses to distract the media. He likes to dominate narratives. He likes to disrupt
Starting point is 00:26:32 narratives. If he thinks the White House is experiencing bad press, he will distract people with something else essentially. I don't know if that's what he intentionally meant to do in this particular situation, but I know based on observation, that's what he's been doing since he stepped foot into politics. Now, let's hear what you guys have to say in the comments section below. What do you make up Democrats refusing the call for the resignation of Eric Swalwell and commit to expelling him? What do you make of Mondani's first 100 days of an utter disaster for New York City? And then give me your reaction to the president and his beef with Pope Leo. Your thoughts. to everything you got in the comments section below.
