Starting point is 00:00:00 All right, some interesting developments from today. SCOTUS issued a bombshell ruling, upholding Tennessee's ban on gender affirming care. Also, Jerome Powell refuses to lower rates once again. And the Senate held a committee hearing on Biden's mental acuity. I think you'll be stunned by what happened. Supreme Court is upholding Tennessee's ban on gender affirming care for transgender youth. Now, this delivers a major blow to the trans community. Let's just go through this Tennessee law.
Starting point is 00:00:33 It restricts hormone therapy and puberty blockers for transgender minors, and it also punishes doctors if they provide such care. In addition to saying that this is not a sex discrimination law, he really highlighted the policy implications saying this case carries with it the weight of fierce scientific and policy debates about the safety, efficacy, and propriety of medical treatments. in an evolving field, we leave questions regarding its policy to the people, their elected representatives, and the democratic process.
Starting point is 00:01:06 And then, Erin, Justice Sotomayor, writing for the Liberals in dissent, really said that the chief had recharacterized this law, that it was truly about sex discrimination. And she concluded by saying, by retreating from meaningful judicial review exactly where it matters most, the court abandons transgender children and their families. to political whims. Okay, so clearly this is a bombshell ruling, and let me explain to you why that is. Number one, Justice Jackson claims they are abandoning these children. Well, let me remind the justice.
Starting point is 00:01:38 It's the parents who abandon these children, okay? They have allowed these children to get mutilated. Their hormones are messed with with these purity blockers. They're mentally confused. I mean, just imagine the negative impact for the rest of their lives. These are not happy individuals, for the record, if you actually run the numbers. And secondly, what I find to be so interesting, is that these churlin are not old enough to join the military, get a driver's license, drink
Starting point is 00:02:02 alcohol, rent a vehicle, vote in our elections, rent an apartment, or even sign up for health insurance, but they are old enough to cut off their things. I mean, just think about that for a second. All right, this is a complete joke, the reaction that we're hearing from the left, and that's why I wanted to talk about it first. And as an example of how they're not taking this very well, listen to Senator Schumer react. Yes. I'm hoping you can give a quick reaction to the Supreme Court ruling that just came in. from the Tennessee about the well that bans you know this
Starting point is 00:02:31 this Supreme Court seems to have forgotten that one of their jobs is to protect individual rights and protect individuals from being discriminated against it's an awful decision what can be done for on the floor we had a bill that the Republicans wanted
Starting point is 00:02:47 to take away these rights and we got I believe every Democrat voting against it so it failed because it needed 60 votes so we're going to explore every solution all right so you heard what Chuck Schumer had to say, he calls it discrimination, which is peak delusion, in my opinion. And what I just can't wrap my head around is how Democrats have not learned their lesson from this past election. This is an 80-20 issue. They will not win on this. And if we remove the politics from this, just from a scientific
Starting point is 00:03:15 standpoint, from a mental health standpoint, this is dangerous. I mean, that's what we know. Other countries have already banned this because they thought it was a great idea. And then they found that, wait a minute, this is not a great idea. We're hurting children. We're making it worse. And what's interesting, this wasn't an issue 40 years ago. Why? Because you didn't hear about the word transgender when you were in school. You weren't showing books that was messing with your perception of what your sex might be. I mean, this is craziness. Now, here is CNN trying to make this political. Take a list. 27 states, as you know, have passed bans on gender affirming care. The issue of trans rights
Starting point is 00:03:54 was maybe, maybe the most important culture war issue of the 2024 election. Will it continue to be? It was certainly one of them, and it is continuing to be. If you look at advertising on the Republican side, even this early on, we're still a year and a half or so from the midterms wolf, and you can see a lot of Republican candidates are making sure to put trans issues from their perspective into their paid advertising. I think, listen, you got to separate. out the politics of this from the real human impact of this.
Starting point is 00:04:27 I think as, as Paula noted, we're going to learn what the human impact is of this court decision among families across the country. But in the politics of it, I think the two things to watch are how Republicans will sort of hit the gas on this issue, what they believe is a winning culture war issue for them. And watch how Democrats, especially those considering a 2028 presidential campaign, respond to this court ruling, have they learned to. to message around this issue in a way that's more politically palatable than what Kamala Harris was able to do back in 24.

Yeah, well, as I already stated, Democrats are not going to learn because they've yet to indicate that they have. And secondly, in regards to who this is going to negatively impact, listen, this is a free country, meaning what? You don't have to live in Tennessee. This is why they call it
Starting point is 00:05:33 a democracy, even though. It's a republic. I know. I know. But using their words against them here, if they so badly need gender affirming care to happen, they can move to Minnesota. They can move to California because those states are not going to pass a ban like this, okay? And if you don't believe in these things and you believe they're actually harmful for children. You don't have to live in those states. You can move somewhere else. That's why it's the greatest country on earth. And what's interesting is Democrats, they don't even like that idea. And yes, I do have an example of that here is the attorney who represents transgender on MSDNC complaining about this ruling. Take a listen. I can imagine this is a pretty intense day. It is an intense day.
Starting point is 00:06:14 And it's intense to watch my clients talk about their experience as parents. And you and and I are both fathers, and I think we, as many other parents have, have had the experience of sitting in our doctor's office with our child and our doctor and making decisions together about what our children need. And what this case is about at its core is that Tennessee lawmakers came into that doctor's office and decided they know best and displaced that careful, reason, judgment of those parents in Tennessee. And that is unimaginable and should be unimaginable for any parent. Yeah, what's interesting is you can use his same argument against them. You have lawmakers in California. You have some people in the medical community who believe in this nonsense,
Starting point is 00:07:00 and they truly believe they know best about how we should handle this entire issue as it relates to children who are confused about their sex or gender. I mean, let's be real. I believe this is the devil at work, okay? One way that you can destroy people, including their faith in God is to get them wrapped up in nonsense like this. I truly believe that. The easiest thing for the devil to do every single time is to attack the minds and the hearts of children. It's the most disgusting thing. But in the end, the Supreme Court made the right decision here. All right. Now we're going to shift gears to more financial, and that is Fed Chair, Jerome Powell, is doing what he's been doing since Trump has come into office refused to lower rates.
Starting point is 00:07:44 Here's the official announcement. Good afternoon. My colleagues and I remain squarely focused on achieving our dual mandate goals of maximum employment and stable prices for the benefit of the American people. Despite elevated uncertainty, the economy is in a solid position. The unemployment rate remains low, and the labor market is at or near maximum employment. Inflation has come down a great deal, but has been running somewhat above our 2% longer run objective. In support of our goals, today the Federal Open Market Committee decided to leave our policy interest rate unchanged. We believe that the current stance of monetary policy leaves us well positioned to respond in a timely way to potential economic developments. I'll have more to say about monetary policy after briefly reviewing economic developments. Okay, let's just be real here.
Starting point is 00:08:38 This is just my personal opinion really quickly here. Jerome Powell probably will not lower any rates. He will probably serve out the rest of his term and the person. term and the person who replaces him, maybe they will lower rates, okay? Because that's how I see this going. I will be shocked if he does it this year. Why is that? Which leads me more to the economic front and has to do with trade is he's in a wait and see position. He doesn't know what's going to happen with these tariffs. He doesn't believe in tariffs. So of course he's going to be very reserved in lowering rates. And quite frankly, as time continues to go by, his case continues
Starting point is 00:09:12 to get stronger because the White House doesn't have that many agreements to their name. So they need to get the ball rolling on these trade agreements. They need to build the certainty up. We understand what President Trump is doing, but the reality is the market, including the Fed, does not buy into his tariff strategy. Now, here is what the president had to say about this. Take a listen. So we have a stupid person, frankly, at the Fed.
Starting point is 00:09:39 He probably won't cut today. Europe had 10 cuts and we had none. And I guess he's a political guy. I don't know. He's a political guy who's not a smart person. But he's costing the country of fortune. So what I'm going to do is, you know, he gets out in about nine months. He gets fortunately terminated.
Starting point is 00:09:58 Biden, I would have never reappointed him. Biden reappointed him. I don't know why that is, but I guess maybe he was a Democrat, you know. I got great advice from Mnuchin on this one, great advice. But he's done a poor job. up. So we have no inflation. We have only success. And I'd like to see interest rates get down. Now, Biden did a lot of very short-term debt. So we have short-term debt coming to. And because of this guy's rates, you know, if he'd lower the point, I'd pay about a point
Starting point is 00:10:28 less. Then if it'd lower two points, I'd pay about two points less. And that's for 10 years, 12 years, 15 years, five years. It's hundreds of billions. It's even trillions of dollars. that we're going to lose because of this too late. I call him too late, pal, because he's always too late. I mean, if you look at him, every time I did this, I was right, 100%. He was wrong. Maybe I should go to the Fed. Am I allowed to appoint myself, Doug?
Starting point is 00:10:55 I don't know. Am I allowed to appoint myself at the Fed? I'd do a much better job than these people. So, of course, you know that people will take his words too seriously. They will think that President Trump is literally trying to become the next Fed chair. We know he can't do that. It's not even possible. and the other thing is he continues to attack and insult the Fed chair. And listen, this is who
Starting point is 00:11:18 President Trump is. Okay. He has a way of communicating. He's going to tell you exactly what he thinks, and you either love it or you don't. That's the bottom line here. And no matter how many times, and I think I've said this repeatedly, that he comes out and criticizes Jerome Powell, it's not going to change anything. Okay. This guy is not going to lower rates until he believes in his mind it's the appropriate thing to do. So it's almost a mute point. point debating this in general. Now, here is the media doing what they do best, which is trying to get stories and sound bites. Take a listen to this. Michael McKee from Bloomberg Radio and television. Your friend down at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue continues to lob insults in your direction.
Starting point is 00:11:57 And I'm wondering, given how that the Supreme Court has maybe carved out the Fed from some of the legal implications of that, whether this is just noise that the markets and everybody should ignore until your term is up, or whether you worry that it could lead to more pressure on confidence on Wall Street, on consumers, about the outlook for the economy? Okay. For my standpoint, it's not complicated. What everyone on the FOMC wants, it's a good, solid American economy with strong labor market and price stability. That's what we want. We think our policy is well positioned right now to deliver that. and to be able to respond in a timely way as the data lead us around.
Starting point is 00:12:44 The economy's been resilient, and part of that is our stance. And, again, we think we're in a good place on that to respond to significant economic developments. That's what matters. That is what matters to us. Pretty much that's all that matters to us. I need to ask. Assuming you are not reappointed, would you stay on as governor when your term is chair? I'm not thinking about that. I'm thinking about this. All right. So we know exactly where the media was trying to go with that line of questioning. But let's circle back on the president. It's something that he said that is profound. And he's really emitting it out loud. Why does the federal government want the Fed chair to lower rates? Why in some spaces people want a recession to take place right now? Because it allows the federal government to take the interest on the debt and refinance it at a lower rate. So in a sense, I could see the frustration.
Starting point is 00:13:38 on behalf of President Trump, because we're talking almost a trillion dollars. He's right on that. I mean, the interest on the debt is insane. So really, there's only two ways that you're going to lower rates on that. Either the Fed chair just decides to do it or a recession takes place. So anyway, we should be two points lower. It would be nice to be two and a half points lower. We'd be saving $800 billion, $700 billion.
Starting point is 00:14:02 That's a lot of money. Thank you for nothing. For absolutely nothing. We'd save $6, 7, $800 billion. We have, I think we're 38th now in interest, and we should be number one. We should be the lowest. And by the way, if he's worried about inflation, that's okay. I understand that.
Starting point is 00:14:21 I don't think there's going to be any. So far there hasn't. I mean, we have almost no inflation. We've done a great job. All right, let's move to our next story, and this is about the Senate holding a hearing today on Biden's mental acuity. We already know it's a scandal. Democrats have been making money off of this scandal.
Starting point is 00:14:37 They also covered up the scandal. And they're pointing the finger at the Biden administration, right? That's really what's taking place up to this point. So now Congress is finally doing their job and they're hosting a hearing about it. Well, guess what? Majority of the Democrats in this committee didn't even show up. Take a listen. I will note that few of my Democratic colleagues are here today.
Starting point is 00:14:58 Thank you to Senator Welsh from Vermont for being here, leaving us with no other option than to take the boycotting of this hearing as an admission of guilt for their role in this crisis. We must not turn away from the search for answers. Yeah, and that actually points to the most important question here. Is it worth time, money, and energy to investigate exactly what went down during the Biden administration as it relates to Biden's mental acuity, who was actually signing these executive orders and who was truly making the decisions.
Starting point is 00:15:37 Now, as it relates to the cover-up, there should definitely be an investigation. But I'm not naive either. I believe the book has done enough investigation for Democrats. I don't think they want to go any further than what that book from Jake Tapper is saying. Okay? So hosting hearings, that's not really going to get anywhere unless they're able to subpoena White House aides and the president himself. then I don't think this is really going to gain any traction.
Starting point is 00:16:04 I mean, come on, this is Congress. There is a uniparty here. And I don't think they're really going to get anywhere with probing this particular story. But again, this is what's happening. And here's what Chuck Schumer had to say about it. Take a listen. What do you make of the Republicans holding this hearing on President Biden's cognitive abilities tomorrow and talking about the 20th? This is the kind of coarseness that America doesn't like.
Starting point is 00:16:27 And they're just unrelenting in. diversionary actions. This has nothing to do with cutting Medicaid costs, cutting Medicaid help, helping clean energy, keeping hungry kids fed. Yeah, Democrats don't want anything to do with this story whatsoever. They do not want to participate in these hearings because they're already struggling as it is. And so they would rather continue to come out against the big, beautiful bill. They would rather seek to stop President Trump from executing military action against Iran. And ultimately, they could care less about this. And that's just unfortunate because it continues to prove that they have no credibility because they're not even willing to condemn
Starting point is 00:17:14 their own. Now, the one Democrat that was in attendance in this hearing, he made an outrageous claim. Take a listen. I think we should consider what happened in Alberta, Canada, just this week where President Trump was at a press conference with British Prime Minister Kira Starrmer and said the following, you all know the great PM of the UK, and we just signed a document. President Trump continued. We just signed it so we have our trade agreement with the EU. Britain has not been a party to the EU for five years, but President Trump made a statement which clearly was wrong.
Starting point is 00:17:55 Now I'd like you to see a short video that includes some other examples of cognitive ability. So the reality and the thing that I would say to people who believe in stuff like that is the difference between President Trump and Joe Biden is a personality one. People don't like President Trump because it's his personality. It's not that he has mental cognitive issues, okay? If you are working every single day, you are likely to switch up your words every now and then. you will stutter, you will make a mistake, you will call someone the wrong name, everybody does it. So to act like it doesn't happen, especially to someone who's 78 years old, I would call you ignorant at best, all right? That's the first thing. Secondly, in regards to Biden, we know it's a
Starting point is 00:18:42 mental cognitive issue because we all seen it firsthand on that debate stage. Now, I know of other instances before that, but I used the debate stage because everybody and their mom saw that, right? And saw that, right? So again, this is how petty Democrats can be and how delusional they are. So at this point, I'd like to get your guys' reaction in the comments section to all of these stories. Let's just start with where we just left off, which is Biden mental acuity. And now all of a sudden, they're finally doing a hearing. It's crazy to me.
Starting point is 00:19:17 And Democrats boycotted it. I mean, what type of nonsense is that? But you wouldn't expect anything less from them. But more importantly, what about the bombshell ruling from SCOTUS? I think it's the right one. Leave kids alone. Matter of fact, leave God's children alone, please. And then the big update here as it pertains to the Fed not lowering rates. I'm sure you're not shocked by that. But give me your reaction to all of those stories in the comments section below. All right. So earlier, President Trump delivered another ultimatum to Iran as tensions continue to escalate. And now it's being reported. that he might be approving attack plans. Also, Border Patrol just made an historic announcement on border crossings. If you guys want to check out those stories, all you have to do is click on that video because it's coming up right now.
