Starting point is 00:00:00 Behind every F-35 jet is a Canadian company, horizontal tails built in Winnipeg, engine sensors from Ottawa, and stealth composite panels crafted in Loonenburg to name just a few. Thanks to thousands of skilled Canadian workers, the F-35 aircraft is delivering unmatched capabilities for 20 allied nations around the world, and will generate more than $15.5 billion in industrial value for Canada. Starting point is 00:00:30 So three teens were arrested for 12 separate shootings in a matter of 24 hours in Austin. And we have to talk about what is behind this behavior in America. And Zara Mondani, he's doubling down on his government-owned grocery stores. But there's a problem. Who's going to pay for it? We're going to get into these stores in today's video. But let's hear first what happened in Austin yesterday. Take a listen.
Starting point is 00:00:52 Texas teenagers are facing charges related to 12 different shootings in the Austin area. And several people are hurt. Police say the teenagers used stolen guns to go on a crime spree. Vinnie Mortarano has that story. Austin police say it was all hands on deck to track down the two suspects responsible for 12 shootings in the area. They say the spree started when a teenager stole a gun from a gun shop. Our hearts are certainly with the victims of this senseless, senseless violence. 12 shootings, four people injured, four stolen cars, and two.
Starting point is 00:01:28 suspects arrested in Austin all within 19 hours. I don't know what motive would drive anybody to come and drive around senselessly in the city shooting. Austin police say a 15-year-old stole a gun from a gun shop and then stole a car with another 17-year-old and began their violent streak across the city. At one point triggering a shelter in place for much of South Austin. But the 17-year-old had a warrant on him from stealing a separate weapon from that same store. Police called the shootings random with no motive. The suspects fired shots at apartment buildings, fire stations, homes, and into people all over South and East Austin. Pick it up where we started the show off with,
Starting point is 00:02:10 which is about how parenting and mindset and development of children go such a long way, especially in our adult years. I mean, the way we behave as an adult really comes from our upbringing. So when people are shooting up places and people within 24 hours, I mean, the report says 10 shootings, that is a failure of the parents all the way. And guess what? These law enforcement agencies, these judges, district attorneys, they can't fix something that really isn't their responsibility. Their responsibility is to keep people safe. Yes.
Starting point is 00:02:45 But this is a father's responsibility, a parent's responsibility, and they clearly have been failed. There's no doubt about that. And I hope they do get the severe consequences that should be coming to them. But again, district attorney out of Boston, he's more concerned with prosecuting cops than he is criminals. I think that's a fair statement, but that's just me. Let's go here. Police say the suspects changed vehicles multiple times. It's alarming. Drive-by shootings don't really happen. Four people were shot. One is in critical condition.
Starting point is 00:03:17 It was treated with whole blood on the scene before being transported to a local drama center. Police caught the suspects driving a stolen car in Maynor, Texas, just northeast of Austin. Two were arrested as they were running from police. We need to take seriously the fact that we've got two juveniles, 15 and 17, running around with guns, you know, creating this havoc. So those 15-year-old and 17-year-old were taken to the juvenile detention center and police then arresting a third teenager around 9 o'clock last night at a gas station at an H.E.B. Governor Greg Abbott responding to all this on social media,
Starting point is 00:03:52 he says these kids are serious criminals who will harm against. if released, he wants the local DA and the courts to keep them locked up in jail. Yeah, I know that's what the governor wants, but I'm not too sure he's going to get it based on the history of the district attorney. Now, just think about this for a second. Probably one of the most hardest things for political leaders to do is submit that their policies don't work, bail reform, prosecutorial discretion, deprioritizing low-level offenses, you know, treating juvenile crime as a public health
Starting point is 00:04:24 issue rather than a public safety one, these types of positions on those issues have clearly failed cities across America. And remember, I've said this plenty of times. You'll get the Democrats who waved their finger telling you what the policy should be, telling you that we need more empathy, telling you that it is right. But then when it goes wrong and the results are disastrous, they say they're not responsible for the consequences. That's what kills me every single time about this. I want to talk a little bit about, like, license plate readers. I know Austin is taking a stance against for maybe not using them what LPR has been helpful in this scenario and I know Manner uses LPRs did they use it and did that was that helpful in this
Starting point is 00:05:03 scenario as well well I can tell you I think that conversation you know we have the trust act you know setting guidelines on where we are with our technology and I think that the conversation is ripe to have what could that have helped it yes it could have helped and so I think as we we move forward and we can start having those conversations around what that trust act those those parameters I think I'm I'm absolutely open to having those conversations And from my, one second, and from my perspective, when we talk about Austin being safe and people feeling safe in Austin, we need to make sure that our law enforcement has the tools that they need so that we can keep people safe. You know, I'm not going to speculate about whether or not you might piece things together sooner.
Starting point is 00:05:44 things might in this instance but we certainly know that well I'll say is this probably having licensed plate readers would have been helpful under these circumstances so we need to make sure that when we're trying
Starting point is 00:06:00 to reach balance and perspective we take all of that into account. Yeah well that was an interesting exchange and license plate readers why don't you guys let me know would you support that? That's a very good debate. See, these are the debates worth having. Not whether or not a boy can play in a girl's sports,
Starting point is 00:06:19 but should the city or your local government, particularly the police department, have access to license plate readers that I'm assuming these would be installed at intersections. I'm without even looking into this. I believe that's what they're getting at. And it sounds like they attempted to pass something like that before and it failed. Now, if you guys see here on the screen, 12 shootings, four injured, they terrorize Austin. Why aren't police releasing their names? Well, that's a very good question. I wonder why that is.
Starting point is 00:06:47 I guess we're going to have to find out here shortly. All right. Now, let's go to Zara Mondani. And I'm telling you, every single week, this guy's making waves. He just can't help himself. Okay? This time, he is taking the quote of Ronald Reagan and saying that he disagrees with it. Meaning he's tripling down on his socialist positions.
Starting point is 00:07:08 Take a listen. This store and the peninsula as a whole. will serve as physical proof of our conviction that government can be a force for good, that government can drive change that improves people's lives. And standing here this morning, I cannot help but think of the words of our 40th President, Ronald Reagan. He famously said, the nine most terrifying words in the English language are I'm from the government, and I'm here to help. It's a good quote, but I disagree. I think nine more terrifying words are actually, I worked all day and can't feed my family.
Starting point is 00:07:48 We are going to use the power of government to lower prices and make it easier for New Yorkers to put food on the table. When government understands its purpose as serving the very working people that it has left behind time and again, it can make a difference. So there's so many things wrong with what he had to say, but let's just be honest about it. that line, that punch line that he used was rhetorically sharp, I believe someone could say. But here's the question that nobody wants to ask, which I think is really fascinating. In 1960, before most of the programs designed to help working families existed, the share of two parent households feeding their kids on one income was higher than it is today across every demographic. So what does that mean? The working class who can't feed their family, is that a
Starting point is 00:08:40 the government failed to solve, or is it a problem that got worse as more government programs were introduced in the system? That's what no one wants to answer. You see, the more government gets involved, the more they jack it up. I mean, that's as simple as I can make it. Why? Because that's what the results show. You want to judge something? Look at the results. The government's not good at helping people inside their homes. In fact, I would, and you guys know my story, and maybe I'm biased on this, I believe every person has the capacity to rise above poverty and experience positive financial health just by changing what's happening in here. Last month, we announced that we would fulfill a campaign promise that we would lower prices by creating a network of city-owned grocery stores, one in each borough. In these stores, prices will be cheaper.
Starting point is 00:09:34 Workers will be paid fairly and treated with dignity. going to the grocery store will no longer cause that same anxiety for so many New Yorkers. Now on April 13th, we announced the first site, La Marquetta in El Barrio, and in doing so honoring the legacy of Fiorella LaGuardia, who opened a site close to 100 years prior with the same mission of delivering cheaper goods to New Yorkers. Today, my friends, I am so proud to announce that the Bronx location
Starting point is 00:10:07 will be here at the peninsula. and New Yorkers will not need to wait long for costs to drop. This store will be the first of the five city-run grocery stores to open. Now, let's talk about this. Most financial advisors won't tell you about buying gold. Because by the time they tell you and the American media tells you, it's already too late. Right now, people are sitting around waiting to see what happens with the ceasefire in Iran, waiting on the new Fed chair, waiting on the next headline to tell them what to do.
Starting point is 00:10:44 But markets move before the public reacts. That's why it's smart to talk to the experts at noble gold investments. My friends, by the way, not only will they educate you on precious metals, but why gold and silver might be a good option for you right now. All you have to do is call them at 1877-647-5347. Again, that number is 8776-46-5-337 or scan the QR code you see on the screen because they help Americans protect their retirement and savings with physical gold and silver that they will ship directly to your door, by the way, or you can place it inside
Starting point is 00:11:20 a tax advantage gold IRA. Again, call 877-646-537. I mean, this is a nightmare if you really think about it. But let me step off being hyperbolic and really just think about this clearly. So bodegas already exist, right, in New York, as everybody knows, and they deliver groceries at this point, thousands of them actually. And guess, Guess what? A lot of these bodegas were owned by immigrants who took the risks, learned the neighborhood and the culture, and operated on margins that in a bad month would put them out of business. They've gone through a lot. So the question really isn't, will the city stores have cheaper prices? I think the question is this, cheaper than what? Substitized by whom? And what happens to the bodega on the corner when it has to compete with a store that doesn't need to turn a profit? We talked about this previously.
Starting point is 00:12:16 Government-owned grocery stores, there's no incentive for it to be successful. I think that, as Jeannie has said, there has been sustained outreach to a number of trade organizations representing grocery stores as well as bodegas, and then upon the announcement of any site, also outreach to the specific bodegas and supermarkets in that area. and that's going to continue. And what Jeannie has said is something that I will also restate, which is that oftentimes the items that drive most profit for these kinds of entities are also not the items that these city-run grocery stores are going to be selling. We're not going to be selling lottery tickets.
Starting point is 00:12:51 We're not going to be selling a lot of the things that make the margin, whether it's tobacco products or things of that nature. So wait a minute. There was the tail right there. He said they're not going to be selling things that usually will help these bodegas turn a profit. So how is the government-owned grocery store going to turn a profit? Oh, yeah, that's right.
Starting point is 00:13:10 They don't need to because the taxpayers will fund it. See, I mean, all you've got to do is use their logic. I mean, and guess what? Rocket science doesn't even need to investigate this to know this doesn't work. Why? History has shown us. It doesn't matter what the country is. It doesn't matter what state it's in. It hasn't worked.
Starting point is 00:13:30 But progressives and particularly socialist will say, well, it didn't work that time, but this time it will work because we'll do it differently. But what they don't understand is they're exercising the same principles that was the cause of why it didn't work to begin with. In fact, I would throw this on top, they're exercising this inside of a system called capitalism, which is definitely why it won't work. All right, so let's shift gears to a little culture.
Starting point is 00:13:54 This happened over the weekend at something called the Festival Day Canis. I might be butchering that name, But this brings together Hollywood celebrities and actors, actresses. And they didn't waste any time speaking about our country, the president, and why women, I guess, in America, are so oppressed. Let's start with this first clip. We're pretty far away, honestly, in lots of, in the world in terms of real gender equality. So it's not something that is endemic to the film industry.
Starting point is 00:14:27 It's something that's a global issue. So gender equality is on the menu. Now, the Cairns Film Festival, again, I might be butchering it, but it's considered the most prestigious film festival in the world. And it's in France. And it's from May 12th to May 23rd of this week. And the, or for the rest of the week. And the interesting part about here in regards to gender equality is that it misses the point. And what do I mean by that? Well, the people giving it are the most powerful, highest paid, most celebrated people in the industry are the loudest on this issue and they happen to be female. So the fact that you're talking this way, but you're a walking contradiction of what you say, that's why it doesn't land. Now, because there's plenty of money in the film industry, they'll do whatever they got to do.
Starting point is 00:15:22 They'll make quotas, as we've seen with DEI. They'll make sure women are in lead roles more than men. We've seen that as well. And so they can do that because they control the energy, but they don't control the world. And a lot of Americans are really fed up with this type of talking points. It's just toxic in the end. Let's go to this clip. Well, when it comes to, we have had so many good female roles now that we got lots of contenders for the best female actor.
Starting point is 00:15:50 We've only had one male. So because it's women, even male directors wants women to perform. So that's it. Now, here's the other thing. They don't know when to quit. This is the same Hollywood
Starting point is 00:16:08 where the top paid actresses made eight figures last year, where last year's best pitcher had a black woman lead, and where the studios are run by self-described allies, that championed DEI, and women equality. So what more else do you want? When is the line here?
Starting point is 00:16:28 How far will you go and tell you what? Alienate men out of the industry? I mean, they've been making this effort, obviously, across different genres to replace men with women. And what has happened as a result? Hollywood's, it's in a dump. No one wants to watch 2026 movies. We want to go back to early 2000s, 90s,
Starting point is 00:16:49 because we know movies had no agenda back then. It was about telling a story. Oh, that is missed today. No question. One more clip for you. Listen to this. We kind of normalized it. It's like, well, yeah, it's horrible.
Starting point is 00:17:05 I mean, are we fucking nuts? We are killing women because some men think they own them. They possess them. So, and that problem also goes to Mr. Trump, I'm Mr. Putin. I'm Mr. Netanyahu. the big balls man saying, my cock is bigger than yours, and I'm going to bomb the shit out of you.
Starting point is 00:17:27 It's a fucking male toxic behavior that is creating thousands of death people. So, yeah, we have to talk about it. And I think we are talking about it is because we are more aware of it, thankfully. All right. So let me just get this straight. Putin invading Ukraine is because of toxic masculinity. And Trump needs to push back on it in order to save women's lives. I mean, I don't know how convoluted that is in what world he lives in.
Starting point is 00:17:58 But we have to understand Putin's been doing this for 25 years. And you think he's been at this all because of toxic masculinity? I mean, that just tells you how disconnected they really are. And Putin didn't invade Ukraine because he has a personality flaw for the record. He invaded because he calculated that the cost would be low, the West would fracture, and the territory was worth it. Remember, I mean, this is all on record. He has explained time and time again why he did this to begin with.
Starting point is 00:18:29 But, you know, listen, I'm not an expert on Russian history. I don't really care to be. But I know he definitely wasn't, if that makes sense. All right, let's move to this final clip where this actress is calling for a DEI film festival, meaning this film festival needs to be based on black women. Watch. You don't want to expose films that aren't ready, and you can't give opportunities to everyone all the time.
Starting point is 00:18:59 And I personally have noticed that there are increasing number of females represented, and there's many, many different pockets of the festival that one can interface with. I think I would love to see a festival where 75% of film were, women, you know, filmmakers of color. But, you know, that would probably send people into what's going on? You know, like, but I think that would be, wouldn't that be extraordinary? And that's why we say here on the show time and time again, they have forgotten what makes movies great to begin with. It's not the skin color. It's not the gender. It's the story. It's the story that should drive what the skin color and gender should be. I think that's fair.
Starting point is 00:19:45 There are certain movies in certain culture, certain stories where it should be a black person. So if we're running a story that's about slaves, it's not going to be white. It's clear as day. If we're running a story about the mob back in New York City of 40, 50 years ago, it's not going to be black. I mean, I think those are serious things. I think everybody knows that. And the problem here is Hollywood, for their own selfish reasons, I believe. They just think that this should be the way to go.
Starting point is 00:20:15 but results say otherwise. All right. So why don't you guys give me your thoughts in the comments section below to this entire video, especially what happened in Austin over the weekend, where there was three teens that were arrested, 12 total shootings, you know, four people injured. We showed you the photo of them. What did you make of that? And do you believe it is a failure of the family, a lack of a father?
Starting point is 00:20:38 Then what do you make up Mondani and his statement towards Ronald Reagan's famous quote and how he's doubling down on these government-owned grocery stores. Just give me your thoughts, everything you got in the comments section below. Please, if you did get value from this video, hit the like button, share the show with your family and friends.
