At Real Canadian Superstore, when you're ready, we're ready, with a whole world and more.
And another blow to Democrats in their working class talking points.
The president just announced a proposal that could change everything.
Take a look.
The Trump administration is considering a new way to help families with the cost of raising children.
A new proposal could extend federal child care support to some parents who stay at home with their kids.
News Nations Marcus Espinoza joins us now with more on this proposal and who would actually get paid under the plan.
Marcus.
Hey, Marnie, good morning.
Parent-based child care subsidies.
That's the new rule that the White House is drafting right now.
But there are qualifications that would need to take place for parents in order to get this assistance.
However, there's lots of questions over the funding.
and where exactly that money is going to come from.
But first, the qualifications would be this.
The couple would have to be married.
They would have to meet certain income requirements.
One parent could stay at home.
The other would need to work at least 35 hours a week.
So once again, this is another example of the president doing something that you would have expected
the Democrat Party to do because they keep claiming they are the party for the working class.
They are the party to help people who are struggling, especially families.
Now, the idea of this policy is spot on.
There should be relief for families out there, particularly families that are married and they want to continue to have kids.
This totally makes sense to me.
But the real question behind all of this is, how are we going to pay for it exactly?
Take a look.
The administration would use a Health and Human Services Department Fund that started in the 90s to help low income and working class parents afford child care so they can go to school or go to work.
that subsidy typically runs about $9,000 per child each year.
Vice President J.D. Vance is reportedly one of the plan's biggest champions.
If it's a much broader argument that he has made,
that Washington should reward families for having children and having larger families
and being able to support them with the necessities of life, Marnie.
As you guys know on the show, we tell you both sides.
So the good side of this is that the administration is trying to essentially deliver
for working families.
I would argue better late than never.
I kind of believe, just so you guys understand personally,
this should have been announced earlier this year.
You know, it's already September.
Midterms is pretty much here.
I think it's something they should have rolled out earlier this year,
just my opinion.
But on the other side of this is more of a financial one, okay?
So there's a difference of opinion in regards to
should we be taking money from a different pot
in order to fund something like this,
or could we do something differently?
Well, here's one idea.
It's definitely a political winner.
I see what the president is doing, but I think it's a terrible idea.
It's socialism.
Just give me the money.
Just give me more of my money.
I don't want any of these programs.
You want just a tax, like a lower my taxes.
Just lower my taxes.
I don't want all these programs.
Again, I understand that this is a political winner in this new age of populism,
but the government consistently choosing who they are going to give these.
tax benefits instead of just giving us the money. And if you want that money to pay for lower
child care, then you can use that money for that. But for example, I would not fall in this
category. I'm definitely going to pay for it, but I wouldn't fall in this category at this point
of my life. You're paying for that pot of money anyway. Yeah, it's a phenomenal point by Lawrence
Jones, the third. As you guys know, he's part of Fox and Friends in the morning. I'm of his
thinking, and I have kids, and I am married. I have presented this proposal to you guys,
quite a few times, which is, it's interesting now the administration's speaking on something like this.
And my proposal is very simple. If you're married and you have a kid, the first two years of that kid's
life, no federal income tax. Bottom line, you have another kid after two years. You get another
year of no, or another two years of no income tax. That way, you don't have to take the money from
anyone or any pot. They just don't pay into federal income tax. I think that's fair because I think
the overall objective here for a lot of Americans out there, especially across the political
spectrum, I think we all share one fundamental idea here. And what is that exactly? We want to
keep more money that we are earning. Critics say the proposal could reduce the amount of assistance
for single parent and working families already receiving it. Sources tell News Nation, much of the
criticism that comes from reports. There will not be any additional funding for this expanded
eligibility and the Associated Press found hundreds of thousands of eligible children already
on wait list this spring in 23 states and Washington, D.C. That makes political fight pretty simple
that you do you expand who gets help or first help the families that are already waiting.
Again, this isn't just in the proposal phase right now. A long way to go. Eventually would have to
go through Congress as well. But finding out that funding question or funding answer rather would be a top
priority, I think, for a lot of folks when they get back from this holiday weekend.
Yeah, so as you heard in that reporting from News Nation, they're going to take money from a program
that is already dealing with backlogs. Now, whether that is factually true or not, I have no
idea. I'm just going based off what they're saying here. But even if we took them at the word,
it supports what I've been saying already, which, why do that? Why not just forego taxes? I mean,
it's something that clearly people will feel because they're getting more money in their pocket.
and I would argue they would say much more money than this subsidy, which only comes in at about $9,000.
So that's why I support that.
But here's the other question that is floating around.
Women, do they really want to stay at home today?
And I ask that because according to this latest number about the workforce, it doesn't seem that way.
Take a look.
In June of 2026, the latest statistics says that women actually hold more jobs in the United States than men.
79.64 million versus men at 79.34 million. That's a 304,000 person difference. And I say that because in 2025, 52% of couples with children had two full-time working parents. There is a reason that more women are out in the workplace and not staying at home. It's because they cannot afford to not work. They cannot afford to be on a single income with the cost of childcare, with the cost of mortgages and interest rates and, and, and, you know,
their rent and the cost of food that's increasing.
That is why more women are out in the workforce.
But I think probably Bethany agrees with that.
But I think probably we all agree with that.
I think it would be much better if, you know, your dollar went further.
So we all had more choices, whether you're a man or a woman.
And so there's another example of what we're dealing with as a culture,
how women are more focused on careers and making money.
And some people argue they don't have a choice because when you're dealing with two working class individuals,
they both actually need a job in order to pay the rent and their bills.
So clearly things have changed in our economy in that regard.
But I like this idea of saying, no taxes, man.
You want to get married and having kids?
We will help you.
I think that's better than, hey, you want to have kids out of wedlock and not actually
make money for yourself.
Here's welfare.
I think those two different things will have two different outcomes.
and I would argue my approach would have more of a positive one, maybe because I'm biased, of course.
All right, next update is James Talafriko, which is the new nickname for him, of course.
And again, I don't want to get into attacking him personally.
It's just focus on the merits of the case.
Watch how he answers these questions from a CBS News interview that he was in.
It didn't go well.
Take a look.
I called out Joe Biden when he failed us on our southern border, when there was complete chaos in our border communities.
I called them out for his failures.
on immigration. When did you push back against President Biden's policies? Was it during his presidency,
or was it after the fact? Yes, you know, I gave a speech in 2022 in the middle of his presidency,
calling out the failures of the administration. Now, this interview overall has been turning a lot of
heads. There was a portion of the interview where obviously he was attacking Ken Paxton and the
president and the Republican Party. Then there's a part of the interview, which we're more focused on,
where this journalist just confronted him on a lot of his positions from refusing
to vote in regards to banning state income tax permanently in the state of Texas, which is an
interesting one. I don't understand why you would vote against that. Secondly, voting to essentially
attack the oil and gas industry that would clearly end jobs in Texas. And this one that you see
here that had just played, did he really call out Joe Biden? Well, let's take a look at the clip.
Watch.
President Biden, Mr. President, you saved our nation once by defeating.
Trump. Now we need you to restore its soul by defeating Trumpism. We need you and our nation's
leaders to start using every tool in the toolbox to protect our freedom. Lease federal land
to abortion providers, declare a public health emergency, impeach justices who lied under oath,
prosecute Trump and his fellow insurrectionists, and finally,
called a filibuster what it is
a Jim Crow relic that's standing between
the American people and
cheap prescription drugs, universal
pre-K, and a livable planet.
Yeah, if you're like me, you didn't hear anything that
remotely suggested that he
called out the Biden administration
for leaving the border wide open.
Okay, most Democrats never did.
And when they finally accepted
that there was a border crisis, they only did
it because they thought it would help
Kamala Harris win the presidential election,
which overall that didn't work either.
guys Tyler Rico is going to continue to lie because this is what Democrats do
woke 1.0 was very popular okay if you go back to the year of 2000 all right I mean
that's how you got attention in some respects that's how you got elected and now they're
noticing in today's times you don't want to lead with that much radicalism which is why
James Tyler Rico is trying to make it sound like he's a reasonable politician he didn't
sound so reasonable in that clip the Republicans have said you know you voted against
the banning the state income tax back in 2019. Why did you do that? Because it's already banned.
But this would have banned it permanently. There's already a high bar.
Okay. So obviously a lot of rhetoric on this particular topic. But let's look at some numbers
according to the prediction market known as Kaushi. I encourage you guys to go to kowshi.com
for slash devori. They'll give you a $10 credit on your first $100 that you decide to use
in order to trade on some of these outcomes.
So for an example, as you guys can see here on the screen,
Texas Senate winner, it has Ken Paxson here at 51%.
James Tyler Rick at 49%.
What about who's going to win the U.S. House of Representatives?
Well, according to them, it's going to be the Democratic Party,
not the Republican Party.
Right?
So you have all these elections that you could literally trade on,
and other topics, by the way.
But it's interesting to see that.
And by the way, prediction markets are not 100% correct.
what happened with Francesca Hong and Wisconsin proved that.
But I do find these numbers to be interesting.
Anyways, go to calci.com.
4 slash of Bori to get that credit today.
That question just shows you the logic of people who lean left.
I mean, why would you not permanently ban state income tax in Texas?
I don't understand.
I don't see the justification for voting against it.
I mean, obviously, if you believe taxes are needed in order to,
or state income taxes needed in order for Texas to flourish,
but I'm not convinced of that.
Just living here in a short period of time,
I've seen what they do with the money.
They're doing much better things with the money
than what's happening in California.
And California taxes are outrageous.
So, yeah, I think that's a bad look for James Tyler Rico,
and it actually is terrible timing
because the latest political ad from the president
highlighted the fact that Tyler Rico
is all about higher taxes.
Now, speaking to President Trump and the position and the role he's playing in this entire race,
let's hear more on that.
MAGA Inc. sharing this with Fox, quote, high tax, TALOigo wants to take money out of Texans' pockets.
MAGA Inc. is going to ensure Texas knows about Tala Rico's radical policies and Alex Ken Paxton to the U.S. Senate.
Tala Rico's campaign firing back saying, quote, billionaire back dark money groups are lying about James Talarico
because they're scared of the people-powered movement,
building to fix us broken corrupt political system.
Yeah, we had already covered this story over the weekend in regards to that new political
ad from MAGA Inc. The PAC.
And also Elon Musk is now funding ads against Tala Rico, which makes total sense,
in my opinion.
They're going to have to shell out a lot of money.
I mean, Tyler Rico has already raised upwards of $70 million and Ken Paxson somewhere
around eight.
So, yeah, there's a huge gap there.
Now, I will point out.
Now, there's been plenty of recent elections, by the way, especially in the primary,
where establishment Democrats, you know, they had a huge financial advantage, still lost.
So just because Tyler Rico may be out fundraising, Ken Paxson does not mean he's going to win.
Remember, he's got, or he's done nothing really to earn the vote of black people in Texas.
We know his beef with, you know, Jasmine Crockett, so to speak, has not been helpful.
So I think he's got other problems on his hands.
Now, I guess speaking of this whole thing with Jasmine Crockett and Tyler Rico, if I want to be fair, the same problem exists with Ken Paxson and John Cornyn.
The other question is just, you know, will Texas go blue Democrats feel like there's the chance and now is the time?
We haven't seen what the statewide Senate race hasn't been won there for the Democrats since 1988.
And otherwise they haven't seen a victory state, what is it, statewide since the 90s or something?
Why do they think that now is...
1994.
So why do they think that now is the time that this is the candidate, that Telarico is the candidate that can take Texas blue?

Talarico as it is Paxton, who was impeached by the House, the Republican House of Representatives
was not impeached and removed from office by the Republican Senate. But he's got a, he's got a record
of scandal and innuendo and problems that are coming home to
roost and it's going to be a tight election yeah the point that he's making is a fair one and i don't think
it's any secret in regards to ken paxton's personal life i think we all know what's going on here
and kind of what have what has taken place over the past a few years i also think and again i'm not
from texas like that but i live here and if you are a true texan you can fact check me in the comment
section but i like to believe that when he was attorney general or as attorney general especially
during COVID. He did a lot of great work. I mean, have people forgotten about that? I don't know.
I mean, I'm not a Texan, you know, so maybe. And maybe his drama with the House of Representatives
has completely overshadowed his record as an attorney general. I don't know that answer either.
But I do know that Tyler Rico would not be the best alternative to Ken Paxson if you personally
have a problem with him. I don't see how that law.
makes any sense. But as I told you, Ken Baxson has a similar issue that James Tilarico has,
and it's with the person he beat in the primary, John Cornyn. And John Corny has to end the pity party,
by the way. All right, stop being Tom Tillis, stop being a prick, and get out and get your guy
elected because that's a lot of voters that John Cornyn got in that primary. And the fact that he's still
resisting phone calls, be a man, take the call and figure out what you got to do, because you're
going to have a guy that is far to the left of Beto O'Rourke, if that's possible, as a senator in Texas.
be the difference between Republicans controlling the Senate and Democrats controlling the Senate,
and that is a very big deal.
It's notable more people voted for President Trump in 2024 than they did for Republicans down ballot.
It's amazing.
Well, that's why Trump's going to Dallas.
All right.
Still ahead, the Trump administration is fighting for parents.
You see, right there at the end is the point of the matter.
It's what I've been harping on, I don't know, since last year that is.
There's a difference in being a Trump supporter and being a Republican, okay?
there's a difference between being a Trump supporter, a Republican, or a conservative.
Okay, they're not all mutually exclusive, all right?
Not all a monolith, as they say.
And the fact of the matter is the Republican Party has done a piss poor job of earning people's vote,
especially in the midterms.
The only logical sense it makes for someone to get up off their couch and vote Republican
is because they're in tune with what the alternative would be,
which is James Tilerico and the Democrat Party gaining more power,
winning at least one or maybe two chambers in Congress,
and then we go into impeachment season, right?
Everybody knows the alternative there.
But maybe for the people who do not appreciate that,
the Republican could do themselves some favors
and truly step up their messaging,
which is why this whole convention, which we will be present at,
is going down in an effort to help Republicans take that next step,
which, again, I just think it's funny.
it takes the president to do that when it should have been the Republicans leading this convention.
But that's just me. So share your thoughts in the comments section below to both of these updates.
What do you make of what's happening with this convention this week? Do you think it's really going to make a difference for the midterms?
And how do you gauge this fight between Ken Paxson and James Tilarico?
And let's not forget another great policy from the president as far as the idea is concerned to give some relief to working class families.
let me know if you support it or maybe you support my idea. No tax on the first two years that a kid is
