In today's video, President Trump makes a shocking statement about Alcatraz prison.
DHS makes a huge announcement for illegal aliens, and Scott Bessent responds to economic fears.
Where did you get the idea for reopening Alcatraz?
Just an idea I've had, and I guess because the judges, so many of these radicalized judges,
they want to have trials for every single, think of it.
Every single person that's in our country illegally, they came in illegally,
that would mean millions of trials, and it's just so ridiculous what's happening.
And it's long been a symbol, Alcatraz, of whatever it is.
I mean, it's a sad symbol, but it's a symbol of law and order.
And, you know, it's got quite a history, frankly.
So I think we're going to do that, and we're looking at it right now.
So that's what President Trump said yesterday when he arrived back at the White House.
Now, I'm going to show you what both sides are saying about this topic, but let me just make this clear
right up front. Aquitrust prison is a historic landmark. It obviously isn't being used to house
prisoners at this point. It's more of a tourist attraction, if anything. I'm sure renovations would
have to happen. Some construction would have to take place. And quite frankly, I don't think
it's the biggest prison in the world. So obviously the feasibility of this, I don't think,
is existent. Will this actually happen in the end? Probably not. I think this is more of a symbolic
statement, and once again, President Trump dictating what the conversation is going to be this
week in mainstream media. Now, here's what MSNBC had to say about this announcement. Take a listen.
In fact, three months ago, the reliable Donald Trump Jr. did what we call in my area of work,
a trial balloon. He posted, hey, maybe we should reopen Alcatraz. And then the Maga World picked
it up and then it became a thing. And that's what propagandists do. They dump something as a trial
balloon, a little floater, and then it becomes possible. And so this shows you the priorities of the
regime, which is, you know, mass incarceration in the worst circumstances possible. I wouldn't put
it past them to be inspired by Buckele's Gulag in El Salvador to remodel Alcatraz. So that's what
the left is saying. And it's very clear that they take what president
Trump is saying very seriously. The fact of the matter is they get to decide what they want to
react to. And I told you guys, I think this is more about him. Once again, dictating what we talk about
here this week in the news cycle. And two, sending a signal to not only federal judges who continue
to issue injunctions, but Democrats who are continuing to fight him on these deportations.
So even if this doesn't happen, that's not even the point, ladies and gentlemen. It just shows you
that President Trump is willing to entertain any idea possible that will help him complete the
goal that the American people has given him. That's where we're at with all this, okay?
Now, here's what Senator Mullen, Republican, had to say. Well, I'm all about it. Well, let's have
Riker and let's have Alcatraz both open. So we've got the East Coast and the West Coast
both covered and put our most notorious criminals in both of them. So people understand
where a nation of laws again, unlike what we had underneath Biden. So I'm
I'm all about it. And when you, when we want to, you know, start talking about criminals being punished, I don't believe in keeping them comfortable. I want them to regret the crime that they have committed. And President Trump is committed to making sure that we enforce our nation laws again.
All right, Senator. So Senator Mullen had some great points. And Nancy Pelosi actually reacted to this, including the Department of Homeland Security. Before I show you those clips, let's take a look at what both sides are saying about this story using Ground News. If you guys want to check this off for yourself, go to ground. News 4 slash Devori. This is the perfect tool to do your own research and see what both sides are actually saying. And so for an example, the left is saying this. Huffington Post writes clearly unhinged. Critics sink Trump's assonine plan to reopen Akatra's prison. So clearly they've been.
triggered by his announcement. And here's an article that leans right. Trump directs federal agencies
to rebuild an open Alcatraz, which is pretty fair to say. That's exactly what came out of his mouth.
And by the way, this is a story where everyone has something to say about it, but sometimes only one
side will react to a story. And that's called Blind Spot and Ground News can help you identify that.
So if you want to do your own research, think for yourself. We use this tool for the show.

Congresswoman Pelosi, she had a different thought.
She said Alcatraz closed as a federal penitentiary
more than 60 years ago. It is now
a very popular national park and major
tourist attraction. The president's proposal
is not a serious one.
Is this something that
is being discussed loosely or
is there a plan to actually make this happen?
Our country, Dana, was founded on innovation and out-of-the-box ideas.
And I think that this is a great idea from President Trump.
He also mentioned in that post that this is symbolism, just like Guantanamo Bay.
Historically, Alcatraz was used to house the worst of the worst.
And that's exactly what we're doing at Guantanamo Bay and could potentially do at Alcatraz as well.
Okay, so let's go to our next story, which is the U.S. Army's 250th birthday, which is June 14th of this year.
It just so happens it's the same day as President Trump's birthday.
So he's hosting a military parade to celebrate the U.S. Army and people are not liking it, I guess.
Let's first hear the announcement.
Take a listen.
The president also told me that next month, he's planning a military parade celebrating the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Army that also falls on his 79th birthday.
We're going to have a big, beautiful parade.
A military parade?
Yeah, sure.
We're going to celebrate our military.
We have the greatest military in the world.
People, peanuts compared to the value of doing it.
We have the greatest missiles in the world.
We have the greatest submarines in the world.
We have the greatest army tanks in the world.
We have the greatest weapons in the world.
And we're going to celebrate it.
So let's think about this for a second.
We should celebrate the U.S. Army's birthday, especially because it's the 250th.
Now, it's not President Trump's fault that it falls on the same day as he.
his birthday. So is this celebration more about him or is it more about the army? Clearly,
he's saying that it's more about the army. Regardless of the matter, this has never happened
in history. So MSNBC is freaking out over it. And I guess they feel uncomfortable. They just don't
even know how to react. Take a listen. There is this plan for the military slash birthday parade.
I'm curious, how do you think reporters should cover this? You know, are we,
just going to be standing there walking alongside the parade, like business as usual.
What are you going to do?
And what do you think our industry should do to handle this and contextualize it in the most appropriate way?
For our purposes, as journalists, we have to do what we're doing day in and day out,
which is speak truth without fear or favor of what this administration could do.
And that's honestly telling people that, you know, it's not going to be free,
that it's going to cost potentially $45 million is what estimates have said.
that it would fall on different units inside of the Army, including the Navy, all those things
like that, potentially taking away from money that's used for training.
And just really all about how this military parade not just came to be, but it's affecting
the country and whether or not, you know, it's something that Americans want to see on their
streets.
So why don't we just do a poll and see how Americans truly feel about celebrating the Army's 250th
birthday, and it's also on the same day as the presidents. I wonder how Americans would support
it. I'm sure they probably would. But I find it very rich that now these people are worried about
every single penny, right? Where were these budget hawks to hold time over the past four years under
Biden? I just find that to be interesting. Let me know how you guys think about this story in the
comment section below. Now, moving on to some breaking news. Department of Homeland Security has
announced that they will be paying illegal aliens to self-deport. Take a listen.
Fox News can report exclusively that DHS will announce today that they're going to start
paying for the commercial flights of illegal aliens who self-deport from the U.S.
and on top of that, they're going to pay them an additional $1,000 stipend once they're
confirmed to have left the country. Now, DHS says doing this is going to be significantly
cheaper for the American taxpayer. They tell us that right now it costs on average about $17,000
to arrest, detain, and deport someone.
They say paying for self-deportations
and the stipend will only cost about $4,500 per person.
That's about 70% cheaper.
Aliens are going to have to register
to self-deport on the new CBP Home app
to access that DHS financial assistance
as well as announced their intent to leave the country.
DHS Secretary Kristi Noem tells Fox in part,
quote, if you are here illegally,
self-deportation is the best, safest,
and most cost-effective way to leave the United States.
States to avoid arrest.
Now, the one pushback on this entire thing is that Democrats will claim that it's costing
more money to deport illegal aliens than to just let them stay here.
I'm going to push back on that because it's a lie.
A one-time payment of 17,000 per American citizen is what it's costing in regards to
taxpayer dollars.
That's a one-time payment versus if they stay in this country, it's $9,000 at a minimum
every year that they stay.
So, obviously, it costs more for them to be here than to get them out.
That's why the stipend is a great idea.
Now, here's what Tom Homan had to say.
I think people are finding getting a message if you leave on your own, you can take advantage
of legal programs come back.
But if we have to go through the process of form deporting you, there are mandatory bars against
you for up to 20 years, sometimes forever.
So, you know, if you want to take advantage, come back as a, you know, a worker, a tourist visa,
a visitor's visa, a student visa.
or have a U.S. citizen child, if you have one, petition for you in the future,
leave yourself open to the opportunity of legal entry.
Do things the right way.
There's millions of people standing in line right now doing things the right way.
Taking the test, doing their background investigations, paying their fees.
They're sitting in the back seat.
Why millions of people are allowed into this country in Biden administration
that simply don't qualify for asylum.
Most of them will lose that asylum crime.
So while they're clocking up the whole system,
in addition to those who want to come in legally,
while the millions of fraudulent asylum claims under Biden administration,
there are people in this world who really are escaping fear and persecution from the homeland.
But they're sitting in the back seat, too,
because millions of people cheated the system come across the border
and release the United States that caused a significant backlog in immigration court.
And that's a good point made by Tom Holman,
which you'll never hear from mainstream media discuss,
is the actual negative impact from people who are actually doing,
the right thing and how the system clearly has been trained because of this influx of illegal aliens.
Now, the other interesting story that's related to this is that Cinco de Mayo is now being
canceled according to CNN because of fears of ICE deporting migrants. Take a listen.
Today is May 5th, and that means Cinco de Mayo, Wolf, a holiday that celebrates Mexico's
victory over France. But some in the Battle of Pueblo, I should say, but some communities have canceled
or scaled back cultural events because of President Trump's crackdown on illegal immigration
and the fear among many Latinos that they could be arrested.
Now, this is an honest question.
What is a bigger problem?
The fact that people are scared to celebrate a holiday that's very important to their culture
or that people are scared to celebrate a holiday because they know there are people
who are legally in this country at this party.
I'm not understanding where the media is going with this, right?
I think if you're here legally, you have nothing to worry about.
But if you're here illegally, yeah, you should probably be worried and you should be doing what
we said earlier that they are reporting, which is to self-deport.
And you're getting paid to self-deport.
So what's the problem here?
Now, CNN brings on some community leader to, I guess, deliver his sob story about all the money
that his community is losing out on and how they're so scared of President Trump and these deportations.
take a listen so yeah we lose money the business lose money but uh we have to protect our people
more important than money and we see all over the country this uh picking up people with uh no
record criminal records and honestly it's a horrible what we have seen in my 45 years have been
living in the united states when they see what they have seen and and the news what they have seen uh in the
community. Not only the news, they have seen the immigration department. So, of course, it's going
to be impacted. And believe me, some people are already thinking about to go back to Mexico.
So my thing about this story is that he's been in this country for 45 years, according to what
he said. Obviously, he's been in this country legally. So why is he encouraging illegal aliens to
stay in this country? Wouldn't he be encouraging them to self-deport? That's my first thing. Secondly,
He goes down this whole rant about how, you know, this is impacting the community, it's unsafe, we're losing money.
Okay, but what about the American citizens and our communities?
And how resources and government services have been impacted because the influx of illegal aliens.
Nobody wants to talk about that.
We all should feel sorry for the individual who broke our laws to get into this country and not for the American citizen who's been negatively impacted by that action.
Can somebody please make that make sense?
Now, here's what the acting director of ICE had to say.
It's a bad narrative that's being spun in the press, right?
It's a talking point that a lot of elected officials and a lot of other networks like to use.
ICE is not out there rounding up people that are here legally.
If you're in the country legally and you have not committed a crime, then by all means, go to a celebration.
We're not ICE isn't targeting U.S. citizens for deportation.
This is a false narrative about what the men and women.
women truly do in ice, you know, and that is really what's taking away from our public safety
mission, and it's taken away from our law enforcement mission. These false narratives are just
not protecting the communities, but they're stoking fair when they don't need to. Ice would not go
into a celebration like that and take any type of enforcement action. All right, so now let's go to
our next story. Scott Besson, the Treasury Secretary, had a interview this morning with CNBC,
and he once again delivered his calm, confident reaction to people's fears, their doubts about
the economy and the direction that the Trump administration is taking this country.
Let's take a listen at what he said here.
What I've been talking about is reprivatizing the economy.
So on one side, we're going to be bringing down government spending, which has been crowding
out the private sector.
We're also going to be shedding excess labor on the government side.
Then on the other side, we have a substantial financial deregulatory agenda coming from,
we put a lot of new regulators in place.
So the private sector can re-leverage.
And we're putting a special focus on community banks, small banks, small regional banks,
which were very near what I would call an extinction event in the next four or five years.
So the idea is to get them lending again, too.
Now, the main criticism from the left is that this will impact social programs.
Obviously, that makes up almost 60% of our budget.
They are skeptical about the tax policy because they don't want to see billionaires
receiving any type of tax cuts.
And they are all out against tariffs, as you guys know.
So when you have someone who's as common collective as Scott Besson come in and actually
deliver it in a very distinct way,
I'm not too sure how they're going to be able to respond to that because the fact of the matter is
when you're improving our trade situation, when the emphasis is on growth for Main Street,
and you're invested in community banks, what better way there is to grow America than to do things like that?
Now, he also commented on the tariffs as well.
I can say that I am highly competent that we have 18 important trading partners.
We'll put China to the side, the 17 other partners, many of them have approached us with the very good trade proposals.
President Trump is going to be involved in all of those.
He will be the final decision maker, and we'll see where that goes.
But I think that at the end of this, even if we have tariffs still in place, because the non-tariff trade barriers,
are coming down because we can see an end to some of the currency manipulation, the unfair subsidy
of labor and capital from the other countries. We could see the more frictionless trade.
Now, given the amount of resistance President Trump has received due to tariffs, my overall goal
for the president is just to be able to give this his best shot. And hopefully we can come
away with some type of reciprocal tariffs in place permanently.
and that China has been put on notice and is no longer getting away with ripping off our
IPs, benefiting from the trade agreement more than we do, and also decimating middle America
with manufacturing. If all those things can happen, that, ladies and gentlemen, I think,
would be a good part of Trump's legacy. Now, I actually want to get your opinion on a couple of
these stories in this video. What do you think about Sico de Mayo and how people are scared
to get deported on that day? Do you think it's because of what the mainstream media
is doing by stoking fear? Or do you think that is a legitimate thing that is happening? And also,
what is your take about President Trump considering reopening Alcatraz? Obviously, they would
have to rebuild it, expand it to actually do what he was saying. And the reaction that you heard
from it, let me know about those two stories, and particularly in the comment section below.
Yesterday, CNN interviewed Stephen A. Smith, and he delivered a warning for the Democrat Party.
and President Trump's interview with Kristen Walker sparked a meltdown.
If you missed out on those stories and more from yesterday, all you have to do is click on that video because it's coming up right now.
