Starting point is 00:00:00 So in shocking news, Tulsi Gabbard has resigned as the director of national intelligence. Her last day will be June 30th. And of course, the media is already trying to downplay the work that she's done up to this point. Also, California Governor Gavin Newsom has made up full of himself as he's choosing to get into this fight with Chevron on the internet. It just didn't go his way. Let's start with this resignation announcement from Tulsi Gabbard. Take a look. Fox News has just learned Tulsi Gabbard is resigning from her post.
Starting point is 00:00:30 As Director of National Intelligence. All right, let's get right to David Spont. He's got the news for us. David? Well, Sandra, we are told that Tulsi Gabbard is resigning effective June 30th because of her husband's recent diagnosis of an aggressive form of bone cancer. Our thoughts, of course, are with Ms. Gabbard and her family, Director Gabbard, and her husband, Abraham. She said that Abraham has been her rock since they've been married,
Starting point is 00:00:56 and she submitted her resignation letter to the president and two members of the senior staff announcing that her last day would be June 30th because of this diagnosis of her husband's bone cancer. Unfortunately, this is something that Gabbard says that she cannot continue to manage doing two jobs in at that time. So she will continue serving in the role of the Director of National Intelligence overseeing the CIA national security council, other agencies, but we'll leave June 30th because of this tragic news of her husband's bone cancer diagnosis. Sandra and John, as she helps him fight that over the coming months. Now, this breaking news update may not be breaking news from some people on the internet
Starting point is 00:01:44 because there's really three reactions I've seen up to this point. One, this was already expected. There's a difference of opinion regarding foreign policy between her or the president. so she was going to resign one way or another. This is what people say, by the way, okay? I don't know that to be a fact. Secondly, it has everything to do with her husband. So the reaction there will be, you know, thoughts and prayers with her husband.
Starting point is 00:02:08 And, you know, the work that she had did up to this point was good because she obviously exposed the essential coup against the president in his first administration. That's an objective fact, by the way. And three is, why are our? all the women in Trump's administration resigning or being fired? You'll see that as well. I'm just kind of summarizing exactly what the main reactions are, but this is definitely a big one. And so I guess the question is, who's going to take her place? Listen to this. And it's just a reminder that, you know, why we may be very busy in their daily work, there's always our families that come first.
Starting point is 00:02:48 I think it's important to note that she will be serving for quite some time that'll allow the President to figure out a transition and certainly make sure nothing is dropped when it comes to our nation's national security. Importantly, she just, her office, the ODNI, had done a significant threat assessment on China and Asia and national security issues. And so that's also good to have in the back as she faces what will be a very trying time with her family. Any thoughts on who might replace her?
Starting point is 00:03:23 Too early at this time. Yeah. Now, that clip was actually before the president took to choose social to say that the deputy director of national intelligence will now be the acting DNI. So still no word obviously on who will be confirmed as the official replacement. But in the meantime, when she finally leaves the office, it sounds like he will be in charge. Similar to Todd Blanche, he's the acting AG, but he has not technically been confirmed as the AG. So that's just the way things work as far as a process point of view. you. All right. So let's go to a couple of clips here that proves exactly what I told you guys in the very beginning, how people already reacting. This is CNN, essentially minimizing the work
Starting point is 00:04:06 she's done up to this point. Take a look. And I think that the primary issue was that she just didn't really deliver substance and kind of a purpose for the administration from an intelligence perspective and that John Radcliffe at CIA did. And so the contrast, between them and the ability of them to represent the intelligence in a way that, you know, I think that Director Radcliffe is just more artful in threading the needle and then behind the scenes providing really value added because the CIA has that value added, right? See, this is why people don't like watching mainstream media. Because what they like to do is reframe what's happening.
Starting point is 00:04:55 And that's why you hear me often say they lie by telling the truth. It is true that the CIA has obviously intelligence that the DNI doesn't really have because the CIA has been in this business for quite some time. DNI is actually a new position in the modern era of government technically. So that's true. But then they lie by saying she didn't add any value to this administration. I would definitely disagree with that according to the reports that she released publicly. But you know what's interesting if you go to MSDNC, they say she didn't do anything. What is she going to be remembered for?
Starting point is 00:05:31 What did she actually accomplish during her term at DNI? Nothing. And that's a good thing. First, though, I think we all say, regardless of whether she has been kind of pushed out or is resigning, that we should wish her husband well. That's a terrible thing to have to go through. And, you know, I think we have to send best weeks. wishes and hope he's okay. But she was completely ineffectual and that's good because she had a lot
Starting point is 00:06:01 of really strange ideas. She was not qualified for the job. She was not competent to be in that position. Now that statement from MSD&C is exactly the same statement that Adam Schiff made. My thoughts go out to Tulsi Gabbard and her family as her husband battles the serious health problem. I hope and pray that he makes a speedy and full recovery. While the circumstances around her departure are deserving of our sympathy. Let's be clear. Tossey Gabbard's only positive contribution to our nation's national security is a resignation. You see, the way that it goes is this. And I actually responded to this and said, they offer up a brief sympathy or brief sympathy. Then they do the, but let's be clear, which is a pivot. So let's forget about what I just said. And then they deliver
Starting point is 00:06:48 the insult. That's who these people are. I just been handed this. I can read from you. This is her resignation note that we've obtained from Tulsi Gabbard. It's about five paragraphs long. I'll just read as much of it as I can and try to break it down for you. Dear Mr. President, I am deeply grateful for the trust you placed in me and for the opportunity to leave the office of the Director of National Intelligence for the last year and a half. Unfortunately, I must submit my resignation effective June 30th, 2006. My husband, Abraham, has recently been diagnosed with an extremely rare form of bone cancer. She writes, he faces major challenges in the coming weeks and months. At this time, I must step away from public service to be by his side and fully support him
Starting point is 00:07:31 through this battle. Abraham has been my rock throughout our 11 years of marriage, standing steadfast through my deployment to East Africa on a joint special operations mission, multiple political campaigns, and now my service in this role. His strength and love have sustained me through every challenge. I cannot in good conscience ask him to face this fight alone while I continue in this demanding and time-consuming position. Now, do you guys recall when they made the announcement about the former president Joe Biden being diagnosed with cancer? The reactions were pretty simple on the conservative side. I mean, I even can go to my account and see it for yourself. I mean, all it really was was, hey, we wish him the best.
Starting point is 00:08:09 That was it. There was no, we wish him the best, but, right? that's the problem with politics is people they're too toxic. All right, let's move on. Speaking of toxic behavior, now we're going to be talking about Governor Gavin Newsom because he's made a full of himself once again. So Chevron shot back at the governor after he encouraged Californians over this Memorial weekend not to fill up gas at Chevron gas stations in California.
Starting point is 00:08:37 And the way that they did it, I thought, was pretty interesting. The governor is going to war on the busiest driving week. weekend of the year with the state's largest gasoline provider, Chevron. Now, this fight goes back actually several years when Governor Newsom accused big oil of price gouging and wanted to install a windfall profits tax. Two years later, Chevron moves its headquarters out of California to Texas, citing Newsom's hostile business environment. Well, yesterday, the governor posted this, quote, Californians, if you're hitting the road
Starting point is 00:09:08 this holiday weekend, be sure to avoid Chevron. Unbranded gas comes from the same refineries, tanks, and pipelines. Don't let them rip you off even more by overpaying for the brand name. He doesn't mention Exxon, Shell, or Mobile, but the governor also doesn't say. California has the highest gas taxes in the country. Air quality regulations raise prices, so does, importing 64% of our oil from overseas, at another 15 cents a gallon for specially blended clean gas, and then closing those refineries because the state doesn't produce enough oil, that also pushes up prices.
Starting point is 00:09:45 As an advocate of truth, you know that women shouldn't have to share locker rooms with men. Women shouldn't have to compete against male athletes, and they shouldn't be punished for speaking the truth regarding that. But across America, that's exactly what's happening. Men are allowed to compete in women's sports robbing girls of sponsorships, medals, titles, and safety. Now the U.S. Supreme Court has heard two cases. could be a watershed moment in this fight to protect biological reality and fairness. This is why our sponsor of today's show, Alliance Defending Freedom, needs your voice today. Visit join ADF.com 4 slash devori or text, DeVorey to 83848 to add your name to their declaration and side with
Starting point is 00:10:28 truth and fairness. Or you could scan the QR code on the screen. This is the right moment to push back. Stand with Alliance Defending Freedom today. Okay. Yeah. So this is just, just another embarrassment for Gavin Newsom because get this, California gas on average is $6.14. Okay. The national average is only $4.56. So that's almost a $2 difference. And here's the other thing. The governor's response to the high gas is to tell Californians to skip out on Chevron and go by unbranded fuel, which is just out of this world. Because according to the governor, the fuel comes from the same refrable. and the same pipelines. See, he can't even criticize people the right way, which we find to be interesting.
Starting point is 00:11:16 So that's why these signs started popping up at the Chevron gas stations to tell people who to actually blame. Take a look. And Chevron actually calls Democrats out at the pump. Look at this sign. Sacramento policies did this. Now you pay more. California politicians are choosing foreign oil and fuels over local jobs and lower.
Starting point is 00:11:39 costs. Governor Newsom also posted a map of four stations to justify his boycott. Two Chevron's had higher prices than nearby independence stations, which, he says, charged about 60 to 80 cents less. Well, for context, the state has 13,000 gas stations. 300 are owned by Chevron corporate. 1,500 others are independently owned, and they can charge what they want. The governor did have a commission in 2023, they did not find any price gouging by big oil. So, Dana, on my drive in this morning, I went by seven gas stations. I found a price difference of about 80 cents, and that was between a 7-Eleven, a mobile, a shell, a Sinclair, a Chevron, and prices seem to be more dictated by geography or competition than politics. Back to you.
Starting point is 00:12:32 Now, what's interesting about this is everybody knows why gas is high in California. Even the governor knows, but he'll lie about it anyway. And some people will actually believe him and blame President Trump on why gas prices are high in California. In fact, I would argue California is the ultimate case study regarding politics. The gas was already high. That's the crazy part about it. People are already complaining about gas prices. Even when this war with Iran comes to an end and the national gas average comes down,
Starting point is 00:13:03 that's not going to really impact California. they'll still be dealing with this. So that's why the president, just hours ago during his rally, said this about Governor Gavin Newsom. That's one of the worst governors in the country, by the way, that guy. But he took himself, did you hear he announced he's taking himself out of the race? He called himself a dumb person. He got very low board scores.
Starting point is 00:13:28 Everything he's done is tough, and he can't read a speech. He can't read a speech. So I don't read too many speeches either. I'd be better off if I did. But he can't read a speech. but he called himself a dumb person. And when you do that, I say it ends up, but a friend of mine very good at politics,
Starting point is 00:13:45 say, don't worry, people forget about it. I don't know, I don't think you can fend. I thought it was the worst, he did this during an interview, I thought it was the worst interview by a professional politician in the history of our country. Because Gavin, I think, is, when he says he's stupid, he said he's stupid, but remember, but he said he's smarter than the people in the room.
Starting point is 00:14:06 And then he got, sued for being a racist, okay? And I guess he probably is a racist, but he said he was a stupid person. You'll never hear me call myself. I'm the smartest guy you're ever going to meet. And don't you want to have a smart person as president? There's no question it would be a disaster for this country of Newsom was in charge because all we have to do is look at results. That's not a partisan statement. You look at the results. At the end of President Trump's second term, the results will judge him, okay? That's what will be his legacy.
Starting point is 00:14:42 That's why in the first term, his results prove that he was actually a better president than Joe Biden. And really, he spent more time trying to avoid impeachment in his first administration. He spent all this time firing people because he couldn't trust anyone in his first administration and still accomplish some great things. So, you know, I think that is really the bottom line here. Now, let me just show you this briefly because this is the argument that the governor was making. Well, why is it that Chevron is charging 50% more? more than Sinclair. Well, anybody who knows about gas stations or at your local intersection, that happens all the time. But $5.99, which is the cheaper one that he wants to compare it to,
Starting point is 00:15:22 that's still expensive. So I'm not understanding where he's going with this. Gavin Newsom is telling Californians to boycott Chevron because of their high gas prices. And they are high. 639 today in California. But also today, in Jackson County, Mississippi, you can get gas from Chevron for $3.99. That is $2.40. less than here in California. Same company, different prices. Why? Because of Gavin Newsom and his policies. We shouldn't be boycotting individual oil companies.
Starting point is 00:15:49 We should be boycotting the Democrat policies that have given us the highest gas prices in the country. My plan is to get us to $3 gas. Vote for change. See, there's a difference in the perception of what the government should be spending their time doing. The government should intervene, just not in the way that they've been doing if we take California as an example.
Starting point is 00:16:07 We don't need more taxes. We don't need more regulations. that state is overregulated as it is. That's a prime example why government intervention backfires. When should the government intervene when we know that businesses are ripping off customers in an unethical and illegal way? Or if they're spying on us, stealing our information, things of that nature, right? Or poisoning our food or water supply.
Starting point is 00:16:33 I mean, these are basic things that the government should be focused on, not on raising taxes, which does what? Push businesses away. And that's why I say it all the time when Valero came out and said they're willing to pay $1 billion to leave. That is the biggest red flag that you could have as a business community in California. So what did the spokesperson from Chevron have to say? Here it is. What we'd like to see from lawmakers is a real focus on reducing the cost of taxes and fees and regulation on the consumer.
Starting point is 00:17:07 A big chunk of the cost for a gallon of gas in California is taxes. So now we go to our next story, which is also about California. It's being reported that 660,000 California residents will lose their EBT food stamps as of June 1st. Now, this comes because the Trump administration changed the work requirements. Now, we actually talked about this last year during the first government shutdown because SNAP benefits and EBT essentially ran out and it was a talking point briefly. And since then, it's kind of been flying under the radar. So it's good to revisit this and update people in a sense to what's about to go down. Listen to this. Some changes are coming to CalFresh that could put hundreds of thousands of people at risk of losing
Starting point is 00:17:56 their food benefits. Starting June 1st, just a few days from now, some CalFresh recipients will have updated requirements to qualify for food assistance. ABC 7 eyewitness news, South Bay, of Dustin Dorsey is live with the big change and the impact. Dustin. Yeah, Dan, we're talking about hundreds of thousands of people who may not meet those requirements. That means they're at risk of losing food assistance from the federal government in just a few weeks. The onus will now fall on food banks and community service providers who are already helping more people than ever before. Today alone, more than 1,000 households across Sunnyvale will receive food assistance with help from programs like CalFresh and Snap. Similar distributions are happening throughout the Santa Clara County Emergency Assistance Network.
Starting point is 00:18:47 They have benefited Sally Gutierrez and her family for four generations. But Gutierrez and 55,000 others like her in Santa Clara County and thousands more across California are at risk of losing that assistance. Starting June 1st, new federal funding rules will require that Californians receiving food benefits prove they work at least 20 hours per week. As of now, more than 660,000 people may not meet those requirements. You see, when we enforce the standards and the law, that's when you hear people start to cry. Because we know people are going to lose out on what they've been benefiting from. The whole point of these programs is not to have people on the program on a permanent basis. on a temporary basis totally makes sense.
Starting point is 00:19:33 And get this, what better way to ensure you get off the program than to require you to work? Okay, so basically, if you don't work, you don't get any money. So take a look at your screen. You have to work at least 20 hours a week, 80 hours a month. And if you are between the ages of 18 and 64, and you are not taking care of any child 14 years or younger, you are, according to the federal government in California,
Starting point is 00:20:00 you have to work. There's no excuse for that. You have to work at least the minimum of 20 hours. And the average is $192 per person. Of course, if you have more family members, you get more money, but that's the jumping off point. There are some exceptions, including if you're pregnant or if you're somebody who's taking care of someone disabled, then you are exempt. As far as people impacted, well, if you are up for recertification or new to the program on June 1st, then you will have to prove that you are working. If you're still moving along in the program and say it does not expire until August or September, you don't have to do that June 1st. You will not have to be required to work until then.
Starting point is 00:20:43 But come August or September, once you're up for recertification, then you too will have to work at least 20 hours a week. And here's a couple of other numbers for your awareness. The average monthly recipients drawing from this program in California in 2020 was 4.0.0.0.0.2 3 million. Now it's up to 5.5 million. So it definitely is going up. No question. So question for you guys, do you support a requirement in regards to EBT or SNAP that people have to work? Let me know if you guys agree with that. And then also give me your reaction to everything in this video in the comments section below. If you got value, make sure you hit that like button,
