Starting point is 00:00:22 free of charge. BetMGM operates pursuant to an operating agreement with Eye Gaming, Ontario. So Tennessee lawmakers just descended into total chaos over redistricting. It got so bad that the police had escort representatives out of the building. Also last night, Katie Porter is reminding the country once again how radical they really are. She is willing to use taxpayer money to fund health care for illegal aliens. Let's start with what happened on the Tennessee State House floor. Take a look.
Starting point is 00:00:52 Let's remind ourselves that while we're hearing this special session. Mr. Trooper, please clear out that ballot. over there. Please clear out the balcony. Leader Lambert, Mr. Clerk. Speaker, I yield the remainder of my time. Leader Lambert yields the rest of his time. We're voting. We are voting on the bill.
Starting point is 00:01:18 All those in favor of House Bill, 7,003 as amended. Vote aye when the bell rings. Those opposed vote no. Has every member voted? Does any member wish to change their vote? Mr. Clerk, please take the vote. Please take the vote.
Starting point is 00:02:01 I, 64. 20. Bill 707,003, having received the Constitution's majority out here by the Clark passed with objection to the motion resetters table. Leader Lambert, you're recognized. All right. So a couple of things happened during this voter right after it on the House floor in Tennessee. One of the state representatives had to be escorted out of the building by law enforcement.
Starting point is 00:02:24 And he had some nice things to say to them, which we'll get to. Secondly, we knew this was going to happen. Alabama's up next. Florida already got it done. At the end of the day, Republicans may pick up an additional seven seats. Is that enough to, you know, change the outcome of the midterm election? Maybe, maybe not. A lot can happen between now and then.
Starting point is 00:02:44 And three, I'm going to make a point about the Voting Rights Act and whether or not black members of Congress are truly representing black majority districts. I'll get to that. But I want to show you what the state representative had to say to law enforcement. Take a look at this. Hey, man. You don't want to be a lot of myself. Move the B' back.
Starting point is 00:03:08 All right. Let it. Yeah, let Red Pearson. Let me get it. What is wrong with you? What is wrong with you? Ted. He's stupid, mother.
Starting point is 00:03:20 All right. Number one, if a white dude was speaking that way to a black officer, imagine what social media would have to say about that. Secondly, they claim this is racism, Meaning what? Black voters will not have the right representation. They should be represented by someone who looks like them. That's their talking point. Well, this brings me to the truth, which is point number three, out of the 22 black majority congressional districts, meaning majority of this district is black. One of them is represented by a white member of Congress, Stephen Cohen, which happens to be that district they were just screaming about. Now, that's 22. 32. 39 of majority white congressional districts in this country is represented. by a black member of Congress. What is the bottom line here? If you're running for Congress and you're black,
Starting point is 00:04:07 you're more likely to get elected in a congressional district that is majority white or majority non-black than a majority black congressional district. This is the most important vote we will ever take. It's the most important vote that the Republicans will ever take. We know where we stand. We stand on the right side of history. This is about race and diluting the representation of blacks
Starting point is 00:04:31 and brown people in Memphis, Tennessee. This is serious. This is gravely serious for people. People fought, died, were tortured for the right to vote. And so the world needs to be watching this. Because what is happening today will happen to the rest of the country. Okay, so they're making the wrong argument. It's not about race.
Starting point is 00:04:53 And for the record, just so you guys understand where I personally stand, this is my own opinion just based on the data. gerrymandering is a loophole in the system that both political parties have yet to address, Congress and the Supreme Court. It's been happening since the 1800s. It's nothing new. Massachusetts kicked it off. Okay. And so all you're seeing is the manifestation what was going to happen sooner or later. Now, having said that, the argument, again, should not be about race, but they'll make it that because that's the easy thing to do. The hard thing to do is to articulate why gerrymandering should be. banned. And so it's fascinating that states are not moving to ban it, but are still moving to redistrict, because that's what will continue to happen here. One more clip. This is the other
Starting point is 00:05:42 problem with it. Take a look. Do you feel it's a fair characterization or hyperbole when some Democratic politicians argue the U.S. is in a second Jim Crow era? Well, I think we're potentially on the verge of that, if you take away the tools that erased Jim Crow, and chief among them being the Voting Rights Act of 1965, and you see what legislatures are racing to do in Louisiana, in Tennessee, in Alabama, you see the beginnings, the potential beginnings of, if not a Jim Crow era, as we have known it, a modern Jim Crow era where African Americans, Hispanics don't have the ability to fully express themselves when it comes to their political power. And that's really something that worries me.
Starting point is 00:06:30 But again, I emphasize if partisan gerrymandering is something that is going to be accepted by this Supreme Court, if that is the thing to say, well, it's not racial gerrymandering, it's only partisan gerrymandering. That affects white people in this country as well. It takes power away from all Americans and something that needs to be stopped. You know, every now and then we get a sponsor, and I'm just really excited about it, because I really understand to a T, their mission, their purpose, and I think they're doing something bigger than themselves. Did you know that there are more than 300,000 kids in the foster care system in America today?
Starting point is 00:07:04 That's hundreds of thousands of kids in need of loving families. Christians are stepping up to meet this need, living out the biblical command to care for orphans. But in recent years, as you guys are aware, the government has been turning away Christian foster parents, even though most states desperately need more foster families. this was reported by the DOJ, expose how the Biden administration was discriminating against Christian families.
Starting point is 00:07:28 The government is telling these parents that they have to agree to take kids to pride parades or even facilitate a gender transition in order to serve as foster parents, which violates their Christian beliefs. Thankfully, Alliance defending freedom is fighting and winning on behalf of these Christian foster parents, but there's still more legal cases to be fought, and ADF relies on the generosity of people like you and me, to keep this work going. So go to join adaf.com for slash darkens or text darkens at 83848. That is 83848 to give your support of Christian foster parents today. Again, wrong argument.
Starting point is 00:08:07 Black people, Hispanic people are definitely well represented. I mean, you have 61 members of Congress who are black, more that are Hispanic technically. So again, that's just the wrong argument. It's not a racial thing. this is a partisan thing that should be stopped. But again, the loudest people in the room are not going to be, they're not going to stop it. Okay. Let's go to our next update. And now we're talking about what happened last night in California, which is the governor's debate, particularly Katie Porter. And again, how, I mean, she looks unhinged just to say the least.
Starting point is 00:08:43 But what I'm going to do is just focus on the policies. Starting off with a very important question. if elected governor, will you continue to support the hidespeed rail project? And I think you're going to be entertained by the answers to that question. Watch this. Another thing, everybody has an opinion about this. You don't need to go into detail. It'll cost another $30 billion to finish California high speed rail from Merced to Bakersfield.
Starting point is 00:09:09 We've got the viaduct laid. We have overpasses. Do you finish it? Yes or no. Mayor Virugosa. Yes. Congresswoman Porter. Yes, if you can build it faster and cheaper than it's been projected.
Starting point is 00:09:21 Okay, Sheriff Yaco. No, I would rather arrest the people that stole our money. All right. That was the odd brand for you doing things that are illegal. No, stop spending taxpayers money on pointless things and improve our roads, which are the worst in the country because of Democrat policies. Mr. Steyer. Yes, we need.
Starting point is 00:09:38 Secretary of transportation. The slow speed delivery of high speed rail, no, but a high speed delivery of high speed rail, yes. What does that mean? That means we get rid of all of your office. You got to make the call. You have to make the call. I don't think we're on your desk. Do you say yes or do you veto it?
Starting point is 00:09:58 Is that to me? Yes. I said, I don't want to do it the way it's been done because we've overspent. But yes, we're going to build high speed rail. We're going to build high speed rail. Conan, I would send it back to the legislature and say fix SQL, reduce litigation risk. Let's fix the regulatory environment and then I'll sign the bill. Okay.
Starting point is 00:10:16 I think that tells you everything you need to know about. about what they plan to do with your money if you're in California, especially if one of these radicals get into power again. And that is what? They don't care about your money. They want it and they'll tax you to oblivion and say, we're taxing the rich. But we know what happens historically.
Starting point is 00:10:34 When they scream tax the rich and they apply taxes, it trickles down. We have four to six weeks left of fuel if the Iranian war continues. Now, if a bill comes before you, I want to know. Do you sign it or do you veto it? And this bill would be whether to seek an increase in oil production in Kern County in the Central Valley. The governor of this state was not a big fan of oil. He's actually changed his tune a little bit on that. Yes or no.
Starting point is 00:11:03 This is the bill. Do you sign or do you veto it? Mayor Virugosa. Yes. Congressman Mun Porter. Can you repeat the question? So would you advocate for an increase in oil production in the state? Western states point of...
Starting point is 00:11:16 No. All right. No. All right. Very good. Mr. Sheriff Bianco. Absolutely. Mr. Hilton. We don't need a bill. I'll get it done directly as governor by instructing the California Department of geologic and energy management
Starting point is 00:11:28 to open up oil production. This is the problem with Democrats' endless legislation instead of just getting the job done. We're going to veto it next time. Mr. Steyer. No. All right. Mr. Secretary Bicera. Versus importing? Yes. Mayor. Yes. We also should stop pushing all of our refining capacity.
Starting point is 00:11:47 out of state and importing dirtier oil from thousands of miles away. It doesn't make sense. No, it doesn't make sense. But Governor Gavin Newsom defends it, right? He says California is the national model for success. The fourth largest economy in the world, these are the talking points, right? You guys have heard them time and time again. I mean, somewhere along the line, it should be illegal for what they have done to California. Just politics aside. For what you're doing to or what they've done to California should be gross negligence. I mean, it violates just common sense overall and financial literacy. And what do you expect is going to happen when you're importing more oil than you are producing internally?
Starting point is 00:12:34 You slap on a gas tax. Then you kick the or you force the refineries out of the state where one of them is willing to pay a billion dollars to leave. What do you think is going to happen? So I think it's important to recognize that our sanctuary laws are only as good as the enforcement of them. We have entities right now, including local sheriffs, including state agencies in a lot of our counties that are violating sanctuary law. He says he wants to enforce the sanctuary law. He wants to do away with the sanctuary law policy. That's because he doesn't want to have to follow it.
Starting point is 00:13:10 Every Californian deserves the protection of their governor. Talk. Every Californian deserves the protection of their governor. Exactly. They do deserve the protection of the governor. So why is innocent Californians being killed by illegal aliens? Yeah, she won't talk about that. In fact, when you bring up countless fatal outcomes of American citizens at the hand of illegal aliens, they look the other way. It's not a talking point for them. They don't want to accept it as a fact.
Starting point is 00:13:41 But it is one. And it's just common sense to mean when you allow people to cross the border in the millions, unvetted, some of them are just criminals. There's no doubt about it. You know what the fascinating part is if you just go on to the actual website for ICE, they list every single person they've arrested and their rap sheet. But we live in a time today where people will just ignore the facts. They don't care about that. Let me say this. ICE is a criminal organization.
Starting point is 00:14:08 They're coming into our state. They're terrorizing people. They're racially profiling people. and they're harming people and committing violence against them. I'm in favor of abolishing ICE. But along the way, I did push for the sanctuary state law, which I absolutely believe in. But more than that, we should be prosecuting ICE agents for racial profiling. It's illegal in the state of California.
Starting point is 00:14:29 We should be prosecuting them for violence against Californians. It's illegal. And we should go up to the chain to the people who asked them to commit violence, including Stephen Miller. The truth is we should be investigating their detention centers that they would. will not show that are dangerous and they won't let anyone in. And I guess you can figure why. See, we wouldn't need the nationwide facilities if Joe Biden never opened the border.
Starting point is 00:14:53 If he just did half of what Obama did, I don't think we'd be talking about this today. But he didn't do anything. In fact, he did the polar opposite intentionally. It was like a badge on their sleeve to say the border was wide open. Please come in. They went so far in giving thousands of dollars on a debit card luxury hotels for these individuals. Now, what signal does that send to the rest of the world? What signal does that send to criminals?
Starting point is 00:15:24 Behind every crisis in America, there is a criminal waiting to take advantage. They won't talk about that either. This whole fraud situation that's going on across the country, yeah, scammers have been standing by to take advantage. And still, there are people scamming off the scammers. Democratic Katie Porter enthusiastically said she supports taxpayer-funded health care for illegal immigrants during a California primary debate. At least she's honest, right? That's important. At least she tells you where she stands.
Starting point is 00:15:59 Look at that. I do appreciate that. But the question remains, who's going to pay for that? Do you guys know? Where's the money going to come from? I mean, I think we ought to enforce the existing sanctuary laws everywhere. So we don't have crazy cowboys taking the law into their own house. Tell that to a crazy mother who lost her child.
Starting point is 00:16:28 Sir, I don't need any lectures from you about being a mother. Of course. You might. Okay. Wow, did you see that look that she gave him? I'm telling you, she's crazy. She's got anger problems, no doubt about that. And people literally are going to vote for her just so you understand.
Starting point is 00:16:47 But listen, those are my thoughts or this has been my thoughts about these stories. Why don't you share with me yours in the comment section? What did you make of Tennessee and what they're doing overall gerrymandering as a whole? And then what did you think of that state representative had to be escorted in his language that he decided to use towards law enforcement officers? And then what did you think of the California governor primary debate? I think it's really going to show us what's coming. If we don't get our act together, that is. Give you your thoughts, everything you got in the comment section below.
