Starting point is 00:03:26 toilet paper USA That's right October 3rd 1953 year of our Lord Jay Town I know who this is I already know what it is
Starting point is 00:03:39 You know Jay Town Jay Town was in that cave for like three days And then he came out Jesus yeah Do you know what he had in there Xbox?
Starting point is 00:03:50 You had an Xbox He had an Xbox He had an Xbox This was a long time That's why he was able to hang in there for three days And he was finishing a HALA campaign.
Starting point is 00:04:00 Halo campaign? Yeah, you're doing a campaign. It just took a while. So he was advertising for Halo. He wasn't advertising for Halo. He was fucking ripping it up. He was fucking in there, taking care of scarves and other shit,
Starting point is 00:04:14 and getting a campaign done. Okay. I'm good. I don't want to... I mean, Trump does worse stuff to Jesus now, so I'm back in. There was no rough anything. Huh?
Starting point is 00:04:26 He was in, he was, I mean, basically it was a man cave. Nope. Yeah, Jesus was in a man cave for three days. Don't be saying he was in the first man cave. He's in the first man cave. Why'd he come out then? At some point you got to eat. Isn't the man cave supposed to have like a nacho cheese dispenser?
Starting point is 00:04:43 The old ones didn't. A nach cheese dispenser? You have the worst man cave ever. It's not the only thing. I've got a Winston ashtray, a nacho cheese dispenser. I got a fridge. with a glory hole, a lazy boy. Karen Ruth Bass was born in South L.A.
Starting point is 00:05:03 to father DeWitt, Talmrich Bass, a male carry who had fled the South, and mother Wilhelmina Duckett Bass. She was raised on the west side in Venice and Fairfax neighborhoods, middle-class family. I actually did not know she was fully from here. Yeah, she was from here. So in an emerging black middle-class kind of neighborhood, the Venice and Fairfax neighborhoods more racially integrated
Starting point is 00:05:28 than other redline districts in L.A. Sure. So she grows up with Jewish people and Latino and white, white, whites. They were, of course. We're there to watch. We will be hurting you. We're making sure you all are integrating properly.
Starting point is 00:05:46 Here's how it's going to go. At some point, we're going to freak out to do some bad shit. Here's the deal. But for now, we're going to hang out. Yeah, we took this land and now we want to make sure that other races are doing it by our rules. And then we're going to freak out. And we will freak out.
Starting point is 00:05:59 Her mom. Sorry, we're freaking out. Yeah, we're going to be freaking out. Get the fuck out of here. Light chatter. Her mom spoke of racial injustice and not just noticing unfairness, but doing something about it, right? Put some action in there.
Starting point is 00:06:16 On TV, Karen, watch a civil rights movement unfold. So it's that time, right? It's a big time. she gets into watching that she gets into interested in community activism at 10 her family took her to Delano California to support farm worker strikes so they're involved sure they're not sitting on the sidelines like your family was they're actually in it well my family didn't really understand what was happening it's the it's Wisconsin whites is what that shows called English whites in Wisconsin I mean it was really it was teed up English whites in Wisconsin should be should be
Starting point is 00:06:54 Teed up for not really understanding what the problems were. That's the new Mormon Wives show. Yeah. English whites in Wisconsin. Oh, my God. They all passed away that winter. So she got to watch multiracial coalitions building and all that stuff right?
Starting point is 00:07:13 He was a kid. At 11 in August of 1965, the Watts riots uprising hit South L.A. It's just a few miles from where she lives. Six days. They're long, it's long ass riots, dozens of deaths, totally changes the LA political scene for a long time. And as she watches it, she is like moved to take action to do something. So in middle school, she volunteered for RFK's presidential campaign.
Starting point is 00:07:43 You know what's fucking, and you know this is, you probably... I don't know what happened with that one. Well, you know what is, it's amazing how the new RFK has ruined. the old RFK. Yes, completely. Because 10 years ago, if you heard RFK, you were like, oh my God, it might have been the transformative president.
Starting point is 00:08:02 Yeah, the lost hope, right? It was like that, it was going to be, that was maybe it. Yeah. And then now you hear it and you just go, he should have been chemically castrated. Yeah, absolutely. Now, now it's,
Starting point is 00:08:13 eat beetles to cure leprosy. Yeah, now we get heroin jerky with laryngitis. Yeah. But also, RFK was a terrible, terrible parent. So then RFK gets killed in June, probably by the CA. No, sir, hands, sir, huh. Probably the bus boy. You know, those buses are.
Starting point is 00:08:34 The busboys are killed all the time. And then that was followed by MLK getting killed, probably murdered by the FBI. Yes. So despite these murders, Karen keeps going. She keeps plugging along. When she graduated from high school in 1971, the city had exploded into a constant battle between black neighborhoods and the LAPD. LAPD being the bad guy.
Starting point is 00:08:57 Two years earlier, a SWAT team was formed to raid, which we've covered, to raid the Black Panthers headquarters. There's a five-hour shootout, 350 cops going up in a tank. Got to have a tank. Going up against 13 black people, most women and kids, teens. If you're trying to jiggle me out of the LAPD fandom,
Starting point is 00:09:21 not working. I understand what you're saying. And I think, you know, the stats are a little alarming for sure. But the crime's crime. They had a tank and whatever. Yeah. Yeah. So this war is waged on black Angelina's by the LAPD.
Starting point is 00:09:36 That would stick with her for a long time. Sure. I mean, shit, I just heard an episode about it. It stuck with me. Yeah. She goes to San Diego State University and studies philosophy for two years, but then she's like, fuck this. and she comes back to L.A. and throws herself into anti-police organizing.
Starting point is 00:09:56 God damn. It's tough to hear early. Joining the coalition against police abuse, known as Kappa, at 19 years old. Kappa was a multiracial organization dedicated to building a coalition of black and Latinos who were being brutalized by the LAPD. She joined with local activist Antonio Virgosa. Oh, my God. Oh, my God. Oh, God.
Starting point is 00:10:24 I don't know. Is it the... Is it that I've lived in capitalism for long enough that I hate it so much? Or is it that it's really bottoming out that when you kind of see these... Yeah, it's very weird because... I can't tell. When I was reading this, I remember... Like John Lewis, right?
Starting point is 00:10:44 He was a hero. But then I remember at the end, I was just like, fuck this guy. Like, you know what I mean? And like they all, they get old and then they turn into this other fucking thing. So I don't know if it's age or if it is just money. It's probably the money. It's probably the money. It is.
Starting point is 00:10:59 I think it is the money. Because there's also this clip of Van Jones, like in 1993 on his college campus. But it's like, potentially what you're going to say is true, that he was always performative. Yeah. Yes, potentially. But he did start, he did do acorn, which was a communist neighborhood association. They were like, sorry.
Starting point is 00:11:18 If, you know. And now Van Jones is like one of the worst people. It's like George W. Bush. Like if you once had morals and then you turn into that, you're worse than a person who never had morals. Well, that's the problem. We're recording this. Stuff is being recorded. We have footage of you.
Starting point is 00:11:36 Well, you're going to love this story. Oh, God. Yeah. I already do. Yeah. So, Vera Gussel would later become mayor, then cheat on his wife with a telemundo reporter and end his career. But when he was... I did not know that part.
Starting point is 00:11:49 Oh, you didn't? No. Yeah, that's why he... But as a fan of Telemundo, I mean... Because he was like, he was like the guy who was going to be governor next. Yeah. And then he got caught cheating with a telemundo reporter. Right.
Starting point is 00:12:01 When she was mayor... Boy, when the wife found out, it must have been like a real telenovela situation. Do you think? Yeah, probably. Yeah. When he was mayor, he said Karen never wanted to get in front of the camera. She was a true door to. door organizer who wanted the coalition to get the spotlight.
Starting point is 00:12:20 There have been times I've seen where she didn't want to get in front of the camera. But she was still targeted, quote, the police were always abusing us. And it was personal. During her time with Kappa, the LAPD, public disorder, and intelligence division broke into her home and vandalized her car. God. What year is this?
Starting point is 00:12:46 This is like... This is the 60s, early 70s. Man, it's so fucking crazy. Like, it's... How different of a person she was? Well, no. How the cops have, you know, slowly just kind of been breadcrumming this future that we live in. Where it's like, yeah, fuck with us and we'll fucking personally ruin you.
Starting point is 00:13:09 And it's toppling us now. Huh? Mm-hmm. So it was later revealed that the division, the intelligence division, planted undercover cops in left-wing organizations and spied on tens of thousands of Angelinos, including Mayor Tom Bradley. Who has a terminal at LAX. He's the international terminal. I think he was the first black mayor. I might be wrong about that, but I think he was the first black mayor, pretty sure. So you got to spy on him. That's the other thing.
Starting point is 00:13:46 Having a good way of detecting these fucking narcs is like so essential. Yeah, but now they don't need narcs. They just put microphones and cameras everywhere. Right. So Karen's name showed up in documents that were revealed by an ACLU lawsuit. The LAPD message to organizers was, try to stop us and we'll make your life hell. Lots changed. that same year, Karen, joined the
Starting point is 00:14:17 Venceramos Brigade. Sure. A group that organized trips for American leftists to travel to Cuba. By the way. She's a commie. I mean, it's crazy. She's a commie. Fully.
Starting point is 00:14:36 She went to fucking Cuba. That night, she had dinner with Castro. She told him everything he said is perfect. We don't get a lot of the Cuba updates. in the mainstream media anymore. No, they're all dying. It's weird. Haven't heard Karen Bass come out and talk about it too much.
Starting point is 00:14:52 No, she's not really bringing it up anymore, is she? Interesting. They openly flouted the U.S. travel man flying to Cuba to cut sugar cane, build housing, and lend a hand to the projects of the Cuban Revolution. I really fucking, I just hate that our change is in the Jurassic Park mosquito amber. Like, you're just like, that's it. That's where it'll live.
Starting point is 00:15:15 Cuba's never, it's all this, just worse. Karen made eight trips over a decade and even saw Fidel Castro speak at Revolution Square in Havana. She said he was an extremely charismatic man. That's what you say when you can't understand it. She went to Cuba eight fucking times. Eight is nuts. Right after the revolution. Eighth's nuts.
Starting point is 00:15:37 Nuts. Like, in 1975, the Communist Party USA's newspaper, the Daily World, world called Karen the leader of the brigade's Southern California operation, which was what an LAPD intelligence report also called her. When you see that you're on that paper, you're like, hey, I'm not, I don't love that. Can we do a little more low-key stuff? Is that cool? Can we name like someone else that, maybe an enemy?
Starting point is 00:16:07 Karen, congratulations. You're America's best communist. Just Southern California. Whatever. Karen's office now says that's not true. That wasn't, even though the comedy said this and the LAPD said it. But she, yeah. By the mid-1970s, she's in health care, first nursing.
Starting point is 00:16:29 You're just pin by pin setting this up, huh? Really building the A side of our story, brick by brick. Then she became a physician assistant. She said she'd never be the mayor of Los Angeles. She said fire, she detested fire. It was one of the few jobs she could get as in as she came under immense pressure to open their doors to black students. So Karen got a physician assistant certification from USC's Keck School of Medicine in 1982. And then she stayed at USC for that decade.
Starting point is 00:17:03 She also became a clinical instructor and directed the school's health careers opportunity program, which helps students from disadvantaged backgrounds get into health career. Awesome. And then she helped launch project prepare, which let aspiring physician assistants shadow clinicians to build the kind of resume healthcare's gatekeepers demanded. It was the perfect encapsulation
Starting point is 00:17:26 of her skills and her values, working, teaching, opening the door for others to follow in her footsteps. Yeah, man. It's like a great person. What a great... I think I'll be voting for her this fall. I would absolutely be voting for this person.
Starting point is 00:17:39 This person is just getting it done. This person's just getting it done. She was on the front lines of L.A.'s In an emergency room that was the largest trauma center in the country. So she saw the worst of the outcomes of the neighborhoods that she had organized in. And by the 80s, it's the crack aminebic. Over a decade, South L.A. had been hit by factory closures. Let me ask you this, Dave.
Starting point is 00:18:11 Crack, planted? Oh, by the CIA, yeah. We already know the whole story. Yeah, they shipped it in and destroyed the neighborhoods. That was the whole point. Okay, thought that might go a little longer. Go ahead. No.
Starting point is 00:18:24 I mean, there's a TV show about it now. What's it called? Snowfall. Okay, so by the 80s, crack epidemic, over a decade, South L.A., hit by factory closures. Can you imagine being part of the government and being like, we're not disenfranchising the black neighborhoods enough.
Starting point is 00:18:45 Like to be like this plant, look, it's going pretty good, but we really... Well, they... Let's drop crack. They saw an opportunity to make money. Yeah. For their illegal operations against communists. Jesus Christ. So, I said that did.
Starting point is 00:19:00 Over... The Achilles heel of the communist. Drugs. Drugs. Over decades, South L.A. had been hit by factory closures, gutting blue collar off in unionized jobs that it anchored. LA's black middle class. And then on the heels of this unemployment
Starting point is 00:19:15 comes this cheap, extremely addictive new drug. So gangs, you know, fill the void. The CIA basically used South L.A. to fundraise for their nun raping and killing narco-terrorist Nicaraguan Contras. Sorry, what was the first one? Nun raping. Nunn raping?
Starting point is 00:19:33 Yeah, they killed the raped nuns. Jesus Christ. Those were our, that was our ally. they sold cheap cocaine to Freeway Rick Ross, who turned into widely available crack cocaine and obliterated his neighborhoods. Wow. Freeway Rick Ross, maybe we should do one on him.
Starting point is 00:19:55 He's basically what Snowfall is about. But now, if you go and look him up online, you'll see all these dudes talking to him like he's a successful businessman. And he's all mad that he didn't get credit. Maybe for the TV show, doesn't get any credit. For what?
Starting point is 00:20:15 He did it. He's like, it's my story. Wow. The whole thing is crazy. But yeah, he helped. I want to co-write on that. He destroyed his own neighborhoods. It's really...
Starting point is 00:20:26 I want to go. Come on. Karen allegedly got involved and helped the left-wing democratically elected Sandinistas by teaching them defensive driving courses on L.A.'s fucked up freeways. Is there a chance that there was like a... a body swap or something? Is that possible? Did she maybe like...
Starting point is 00:20:48 I don't know. Like, I'm trying to think of who had the opposite story, but is there someone who... Does this not sound like... They were both like pissing in a fountain at the same time and said,
Starting point is 00:20:58 I wish I had your political views. Does this not sound like the Karen Bass that you... There's some incongruity. Interesting, because it sounds like the Karen that I know. I mean, I don't know. Defensive driving to the Sandinistas? Not the vibe I'm getting. Our country's two-party political response,
Starting point is 00:21:15 including Senator Joe Biden, who helped write... Can you stop shitting on Joe? It's fucking gone, dude. I just seen him a diary so I can do those episodes. This is my impression of you, every dollop. Is Joe Biden involved in any... As a matter of fact, Dave. Yes, he was, actually.
Starting point is 00:21:33 Okay, so, yeah, Joe Biden helped write the punitive federal drug legislation, which was to... escalate the war on drugs, more aggressive policing, harsh mandatory sentences, more incarceration, disproportionately aimed at neighborhoods that Karen grew up in. The thing is that Joe Biden obviously, like, he completely, you know, he obviously, like, became old and couldn't communicate. But then you see him communicating, like, in his heyday, and you're like, I kind of like the one where he can't talk. Yeah. Way better.
Starting point is 00:22:04 Then the one where he was like, we're coming for it. We're going to take it. We're going to take it all. The thing where he whist... I have a problem with black people. The thing where he whispers that he's going to take... Social security and Medicare. Social security and Social security.
Starting point is 00:22:25 Yeah, it's not good. He's high-fiving a KKK member. Oh, right. Okay, look. In retrospect, the plan was really flawed. If I were to go back, and of the past 10 years, I think maybe top two historical moments was when Biden put out that ad right before South Carolina that tricked all of the boomers and the centrist Dems that Biden could fight
Starting point is 00:23:09 fascism. Oh. But it was like a glossy ad that said nothing. Yeah. and then they all immediately jumped on board. And that was like the end. And that's why we are. It was crazy.
Starting point is 00:23:19 There was like a four-day stretch there where it was like, what just happened? What? James Plyburn, that ad, Obama calling in the dropouts. Yeah, good times. And then the news was like, boy, this Biden momentum. And you're like, wait, what? We made it up. You were crying two days ago.
Starting point is 00:23:39 Uh, yeah. Chris Matthews got fired. He's like, he's a Nazi. Oh, the commies are going to kill us. Complete lunatics. But it did work out. It did. It's all good now.
Starting point is 00:23:52 Okay, so, yeah, Biden does all that shit. So Karen has now watched from two directions. As a physician, assistant in the ER, and then as a single mom, because she got married, Nady, she had a kid. She's divorced in 86. Okay. So she's just watching all this shit go on in her neighborhoods. And from this, she takes wanting to shift politics. away from law enforcement toward a public health and economic response, believing that addiction
Starting point is 00:24:21 in a community gutted by disinvestment was a health and economic issue, not a criminal one. So in other words, take care of the problem before it happens as opposed to the result after it occurs. Well, as well as probably treat versus punish, which is. we're fine um so basically the Kappa argument all over again what she'd started years ago right do you get into how Nithia Raman started out as a member of ice because I think they both swapped and that whatever that's that that's that they're in the middle of the body swap um the problem in South L.A. was not a a police shortage um but a shortage of resources That's what she's saying, but it's obviously not a police charge.
Starting point is 00:25:21 So in 1990, while still working as an ER assistant, Karen starts gathering fellow activists, health workers, and neighbors who are shaken by the crisis hitting and founded Community Coalition, which was originally chartered as a community coalition for substance abuse prevention and treatment. It is a black and Latino working class coalition. Coco is what it's called.
Starting point is 00:25:45 I don't love the name, but keep going. Oh, you can call it Kuku. also. I'd rather not. Mitch. So. How's Kuku going? How's your Kuku? You guys do a Kupu Kuku?
Starting point is 00:25:56 And Karen is a big hot shot over at Kuku. She's big. She's like the top Kuku. She's big at Kuku. She's president of Kuku. Koku's mission was to transform the social and economic conditions that fostered addiction, crime,
Starting point is 00:26:11 violence, and poverty by building a community institution capable of involving thousands of ordinary residents by in creating and shaping and changing the public policy that, you know, governs their neighborhoods. Interesting. So it's not, it's not flashy because Karen is running it and she's not flashy.
Starting point is 00:26:29 It's slow, right? It's unglomerous. It's activism plodding along, organizing, knocking on doors. They would go out and just ask neighbors what they thought needed to be fixed, what they thought was wrong. Do you imagine that actual bullshit? Yeah, it seems very effective. Answers, you know.
Starting point is 00:26:47 The glut of liquor stores and cheap motels served as de facto headquarters for the drug trade, and then that results in violence. So Karen's like... You know what? It's really if we could just get rid of cheap motels, maybe. Maybe that's the next move. If we're going to just start addressing symptoms, the cheap motels. Always a little dicey. Yeah, it could be a problem.
Starting point is 00:27:14 So her, like, biggest skill is, like, reading a room or region and figuring out how to connect people who didn't know they needed each other, right? So bringing people together. Community organizing. So she's finishing her degree in health sciences. This is Karen Bass, by the way. Did I mention that? And at some point, I do want to circle back on that, but keep going. It's Karen Bass.
Starting point is 00:27:38 So she's finishing a degree in health science. She's a full-time clinical job. She's a single mother. And then now she's heading this brand new organization. Two years after Coco was founded, four cops are acquitted in the beating of Rodney King. And that leads to... Because they didn't, to be fair, and I speak for both of us, they didn't do anything. They only did it for 15, 20 minutes.
Starting point is 00:27:59 That's not a beat, a real beating last 30. Well, the cops, the fence, they were probably like, that was nothing. I was driving by the place that happened that day, and I was like with fit, and I was like, it wasn't so much that they did it. It was the 20 cops standing around watching that made you go, oh. Oh, so they laugh. Oh, they're used to it. It was, that was.
Starting point is 00:28:25 Yep. Back when we could be affected. Now, yeah. So, sorry, got lost. Okay. So she's bringing people together. So she's finishing her degree. The cops are acquitted L.A.
Starting point is 00:28:43 riots, boom. A ton of it. A ton of the... I can't even get... How were they acquitted? Well, but they didn't see me valley. I know. What do you mean?
Starting point is 00:28:53 How were they acquitted? They moved the child to see me valley. What is like, is the lawyer? You're like, okay. You don't need to say anything once you move the trial to see me valley. You just go black guy and they go, I know.
Starting point is 00:29:03 I mean, it's copland. They moved the child to copland. I know, yeah. But it is... It's copland. Shocking to be on the jury. It's no different than moving a Deliberating in that is like wild.
Starting point is 00:29:14 It's no different than moving a trial in the south of a black lynching into Klanland. It's the same fucking thing. By the way, don't take your kids to Klanland. No, it's that part. It's really gone down. It used to be a great theme park. Can't write any of the rides. Your hood blows off.
Starting point is 00:29:33 So a lot of this is aimed at liquor stores, a lot of the violence. And then it ends. And afterwards, Karen pushes the city to limit. how many to limit how many of the hundreds of liquor stores in South L.A. can be rebuilt. And then at the same time, she works with the Korean community who own a lot of them through relationships that she's built up through a black Korean alliance to make sure the Korean shop owners aren't being scapegoated since they didn't start the crisis. The cops did.
Starting point is 00:30:07 So tensions are at this all-time high. and then after a Korean store owner kills Latasha Harlins, who was going to buy orange shoes. And then the lady said she was stealing it and killed her. So working with the coalition, they developed a liquor store conversion program. They got a city grant for over like $600,000 in today's money. And over 40 liquor stores have turned out to launder mats and markets and shoe stores and stuff.
Starting point is 00:30:35 Wow. Right? Like, that's actually doing something. It's crazy. Like that's actually, you're like, oh, Karen Bass actually used to do something. Well, not only just Karen Bass, but like planning things. Yeah, planning. Planning your community.
Starting point is 00:30:47 Yeah. Let's figure out a thing to do to change it for the better of everyone around it. Yeah. Yeah. That's so amazing. So Coco taught people how to interact with the city now. That's what AI. By the way, that's what AI is going to do.
Starting point is 00:31:02 It's going to go into our towns and figure out what's best and do it. And he's going to figure out how many liquor stores they can get into a neighborhood. Stop. That's not like, come on. You're being negative. Like they all said. Is it going to probably work unless it doesn't? So now the people are using public hearings, zoning law, environment, or review, petition, survey.
Starting point is 00:31:23 Like, they're pressuring the city council to get their goals done. And so they become, like, stakeholders in the community. It's not just about developers getting their way. So she's literally created a community organization from the bottom up. It's a really good way. to do it. This is Karen Bass, by the way. I remember.
Starting point is 00:31:40 Yeah. Next, Karen and Coco formed S-C-Y-E-A, which is pronounced say yeah. An organization of black and Latino students brought together to show unity in the face of rising
Starting point is 00:31:55 racial tensions. Racial tensions at this time in LA, there are massive fights on school campuses. Hold on beer. Massive fights. So first, they demanded more funding to repair South L.A. School.
Starting point is 00:32:07 They document all the leak of ruse and the filthy shit And it's how much of a nightmare they are And they tried to go through school Administration and then they get disciplined some kids are expelled Just trying to make the schools better But then Coco brings in the ACLU defends them and it works And the schools were awarded 153 million for repairs So the LA Times call it a major victory again
Starting point is 00:32:33 Karen Bass has led this really amazing thing for communities. Now this is the current mayor. Of Los Angeles. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:32:45 Next, Coco connected drug treatment, transitional housing, mental health, youth services, and other care workers to provide holistic services for anyone in need. Very much sounds like AI. And this would produce care. Because AI does this. GROC did this. Yeah, no, this sounds like GROC.
Starting point is 00:33:01 GROC is very much like this. This would produce Karen's signature victory with Coco, the family care not foster care campaign, which provided benefits for family members to care for their young relatives instead of placing them in the foster care. So like an aunt, an uncle, a grandpa, whatever. A, you know, a cousin's friend.
Starting point is 00:33:26 A dog. A family dog. Yeah, you get a loaned for the dog. The mall, Santa. The dog can take care of the kids for at least five years. Fish. Fish, the family fish, can take care of the baby. Grocers.
Starting point is 00:33:39 There's a lot of this. The deli counterman. The deli counter guy can do stuff. The milkman. Mm-hmm. The quarterback. The quarterback. The quarterback.
Starting point is 00:33:49 Take care of the twins. Yep. So. You're landscaper. The landscaper can. Yeah, go ahead. Okay. So violence is still wreaking havoc on the neighborhoods.
Starting point is 00:34:04 So in 2003, Karen, with government and other community leaders, organized summer of success to give kids something to do at night instead of just adding more cops to the streets. Activities included video games, soccer, midnight basketball, movies, hip hop classes, dance, boxing, weight lifting. Basketball's crazy. That was very popular. That's so funny. Did you not know that?
Starting point is 00:34:31 No. Oh, Midnight basketball is huge. Oh, so fucking fun. I'd be like, can we do a little earlier? 10, 15, midnight. Well, they were trying to keep him from me. I know, but still. It was a huge success.
Starting point is 00:34:43 Neighborhoods around where the events were held had zero homicides. Holy fuck. She sounds like a great, like, organizer person. I would love someone like this in office. This would be a great mayor, wouldn't it? I'm president. Yeah, president, yeah, that would be great. So Coco is now a force.
Starting point is 00:35:02 Develop a relationship with labor unions and churches. and elected officials. What's the labor union? It's the thing that we used to have. Do you remember the dinosaurs? Yeah. They died. Same thing with labor unions.
Starting point is 00:35:13 Foundations and other grassroots groups. The budget grew to 5.5 million in today's dollars. It's a lot of fucking money for a community organization. In 2004, allies like now council member Antonio Virigosa pushed her to run for the California assembly. And she ran against four men in the primary. Ricky Ivy, who's a prominent civil rights and personal injury lawyer who co-founded one of the oldest and largest black-owned law firms in the country. It is wild.
Starting point is 00:35:50 Just to talk about how everything term-wise has gotten worse, personal injury attorney never sounds legit anymore. No. Oh, it just sounds like a guy. It was phone number to the lawyer office is the same number seven times. I think it always sound like that. 777, 777, 7, 7, 7, 7. I'm jealous of that number, though. I like the 4-44 guy.
Starting point is 00:36:10 Yeah. So he is backed by major politicians. There's David Groper. It's not a great one. Not a great name. Sorry, Richard Groper. Did I say David? That's not...
Starting point is 00:36:22 Dick Grooper? Jesus Christ. That's his name is Dick Groper. Richard. If that guy came to my school... Dick Roper? It wouldn't be good. No.
Starting point is 00:36:31 Call me Richard. I've told the story many times. Dick Roper. But when we had a kid named Seaman come to our school, it was like a dollar bill signs popped on my eyeballs. Yeah. I was like, well, gentlemen, I'm going to go make this year's killing. So Dick Roper, a professor who specialized in campaigns and elections,
Starting point is 00:36:53 David A. Cooper, who's basically a nobody. And then a black ally leader named Nate Holden. Nate was 74. he had served on the city council and the state senate. The L.A. Times called him, quote, abrasive and contentious, overbearing, and pompous. He kept a mental list of everyone who voted against him. I know I'm voting for. I know who I'm voting for.
Starting point is 00:37:20 Holden was also credibly accused of three sexual harassment allegations by former AIDS in the 90s. One cost the city over three million illegal fees. he had racked up over 70,000, sorry, he'd racked up over 70 violations and tens of thousands of dollars in fines. Oh my God. He campaigned against Karen in a very... And I'm not the groper. He campaigned against Karen in a very interesting way.
Starting point is 00:37:46 Okay. Quote, he campaigned by marching down streets in the district and stopped every block to do one arm, to do a one arm push up. Holy fuck. It's 74. Oh my God These motherfuckers think we can't listen
Starting point is 00:38:04 We care that you can walk We don't like There's It's hard because we have a gerotocracy So it's like we do want you to be healthy Enough to serve But we don't need like Tom Tillis just did some fluff piece where he jumped over a train track
Starting point is 00:38:20 Did you see that? It was just like it was like Huh? I jumped over a little bit of a gap And it's like cool We're all dying This is like something you do out of the 1800s. It's crazy. It's absolutely crazy.
Starting point is 00:38:36 And yet if I saw it, I'd be like, Nate Holen's pretty good. All right, Groper, what do you do? Come on, Dick Groper. Show me a girl. Dick Groper. Karen organized putting together a multirational
Starting point is 00:38:51 working class coalition of Black and Latina. How many push-ups are you able to do it just one arm? Okay. Karen organized. putting together a multiracial working class coalition of black and Latino residents, faith leaders, and organized labor. And I love it. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:39:07 I just didn't, ugh. There's one-arm push-ups every block. She ran as a staunch progressive, a community organizer fighting the establishment. Boy, this must be. And she dominated the election. She won twice as many votes as her next competitor. I don't understand.
Starting point is 00:39:24 What do you mean you don't understand? It's just, it's not even a... her thing necessarily, but it's like, how she is right now in this story, an absolutely fantastic person. How she would... Like the type of person that you're like... I would love for her to be in government. Love for her to be in government. Fucking love it. And then now it's like
Starting point is 00:39:43 we need someone like her to beat her out of office. Yes. Because why? She's fucking awful. Karen is now in the assembly, which is... You know her name now should be not Karen. Well, like I was saying, or maybe I wasn't saying it, depending how it is. So like the way that when you're arrested at 18 for whatever and you go to prison and then you learn to be a criminal, a big criminal in prison, it's like criminal college, right? That's what they call it.
Starting point is 00:40:19 That's what going to a state assembly or legislature is like for a Democrat. then you go there and you learn how to be a piece of shit. Yeah. That's what they do. For a Republican, too. And, or are you saying that they just... Republicans start out that way.
Starting point is 00:40:39 Yeah. There's no Republican community organizing and learning how to bring people together. Yeah, it's like, it's nature nurture. Republicans, it's bred into them. Democrats learn it. Yes. But either way, at the end of the day, there's no hope. They're a piece of shit.
Starting point is 00:40:56 So Karen quickly learns to play the game in the assembly, and she won tens of millions of dollars for family foster care and children's health care. And over six years, she climbs the ladder to become assembly speaker. She is the first black woman in American history to ever lead a state house legislature. That's fucking great.
Starting point is 00:41:23 And she looked at all this shit. She did. She did great. Then it was two, 2008. Now we're in 2008? And the economy collapses. Okay.
Starting point is 00:41:33 So California is facing over 40 billion in a shortfall in a budget. Right. In a good way. In a good way. So she can use her powers now to demand higher taxes on the ultra-wealthy and corporations to fill those gaps. So, okay, keep going. She could. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:41:56 but for the first time in her life, well, I wouldn't say the first, she brought together a coalition. So it's not the first time in her life that she did that. But what she did for the first time in her life was bring in a coalition of Republicans to work together to create an austerity budget. We are committed to working with the devil
Starting point is 00:42:17 to try to figure out a solution of what to do with all the souls. The devil has, again, we want to be bipartisan. We want to represent. all the glory and all the light that the softer angelic side of our souls deserve. But we also are sick of shutting out the devil. So he is here to help us negotiate a little bit. And we hope we can come out with something that not only works for the clouds,
Starting point is 00:42:45 but works for underneath us as well. So, yeah. So we just figure, we've talked about reincarnation. and then I decided that I'll eat and shit them out. Jesus. And we wanted to meet him halfway, so we're just going to not ever have anyone ascend again. Yeah. Great.
Starting point is 00:43:06 Yeah, I think it works really well. It's working together. And I'm happy to butt-fuck dreams. Okay. All right. There we go. So. So what happened?
Starting point is 00:43:16 How did we get there? Because that's obviously a... She got into the powerful position. And she was there for long enough. The only way to get to be top dog in the assembly is by selling out. You're not going to get there without making concessions and deals with people. So she had to get people to back her to get in that position who are moderate. What we need is the con person who cons them and then does the switcher route.
Starting point is 00:43:49 We never get that one. Never get that one. That one, they always come out at the other side like. terrible. Yeah. I decided to work with your enemies for my benefit. How's that working about? So her deal provoked quote...
Starting point is 00:44:03 I have a pool. So her deal provoked, quote, bitter criticisms from labor unions, environmental groups, state employees, and social services providers. You know, all the people he used to bring together. But the demons in hell, the polls from hell are, have never been hired. So good.
Starting point is 00:44:19 We're really happy to be working with you. They were devastating cuts. to education and health care. She reduced welfare grants, aid for the blind and disabled, put caps on the wages of in-home health aides, and sharply paired the state university budgets. Ha, this was not a smooth, this was,
Starting point is 00:44:41 you jammed it in, there was no lube here for me. I tried to find it. It was a rapid, sudden evil. You were just like, what in the fuck? It was literally instantaneous. You're like, what in the fuck? fuck just happened. Now, she was in the assembly for, you know, almost a decade. So it did take a while, but to us, it's a, it's a flash. Yeah. I don't, I don't know how you can, you know, it's just so
Starting point is 00:45:10 fucking crazy, like to not have the, it has to just be an empathy stomper because she had it. She had the empathy. Yeah. And then now you're just literally like, yeah, no more home care. It's gone. It's like over. Yeah, I don't want kids, like, blind and the disabled. When I say it's like criminal college, I mean like you, when you get into the assembly,
Starting point is 00:45:36 you immediately learn to horse trade and start trading on things that you believe in. And it slowly chips away until your horse trading everything. Then there's no horses. And you're fine with that. You go, this is how it works. Yeah. You got to give up a little bit to get a little. give up so, and then you're giving up everything.
Starting point is 00:45:52 And then eventually you're starting to profit, and then you're just like, man, Wagu's delicious. Yes, why is delicious. I love this place. To my dying day, I will say a lot of this is about great dinners. It probably is. Yeah. It's great dinners and expensive wine.
Starting point is 00:46:06 Because when you do, like, we've talked about this a little bit, but when you do actually see the breakdown of what they're doing, it's nothing. It's really like just, it's like so dumb. Yeah. I mean, it's basically like showcase showdown shit. Yeah. They're just like, I got a hot tub. I went to the Bahamas.
Starting point is 00:46:20 Yeah. I drank a bunch of fruit punch. It was awesome. It's terrible. Yeah, and you're just like, that's it for like... I got to see a football game. Now blind people are suffering. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:46:29 Yeah. But I went to an island that very few can go to. The dollop is brought to you by Squarespace. Starting point is 00:53:25 Absolutely. You know, in life there are some things that are just, they're just too good to be true. Time shares, that's one, right? Those little pop-ups
Starting point is 00:53:36 that say you won a free iPhone on your computer or your phone, that's too good. The Nigerian print, you got a copy of this one, the Nigerian print's that wants to give me money? My guy's a prince. That's different. This guy is a legit prince. He took money from you.
Starting point is 00:53:51 No. I am being sworn in to their special services. And then after just a short jaunt through some desert and jungle terrain, I'm going to have access to not only money, but endless treasures. And my pick of my pick of partners. So. Okay. So that wasn't really, that doesn't help the example. You know what's not too good to. be true. Mint Mobile with their premium wireless plans that started $15 a month. Also a big deal. Since switching to Mint, I have saved money. I have saved a lot of money, actually. I've had no problems with my phone service. You got the data, you got the phone calls, you got the text. It's all, it's the same as all the big companies except cheaper. That's it. It's cheaper. What do you, why would you want that? It's just cheaper. It's just better. And the whole controversy that people keep bringing up about the taste of the phone is not even a
Starting point is 00:54:45 controversy. Dave and I have talked about it and the phone does not change taste. That's just right. It's not the phone that does it. It's you take a picture of like your desk and then you lick the desk and that is what tastes like mint. So look, you can bring your current phone and your number choose from three, six or 12 month plans and then that's it. Take about a monthly bill. The picture you take changes the flavor? You take the picture. Yeah. Yeah, yeah. Just trust me on that. That's what they said at the headquarters. So to get your new wireless plan. Who are you talking to over there?
Starting point is 00:55:19 I'm talking to Mint. Mr. Mint. Oh, okay. To get your new wireless plan for just 15 bucks a month, go to mintmobile.com slash dollop. That's mintmobile.com slash dollop. I just minted in my desk. Give it a shot.

So Hymns, you don't have office visits, no pharmacy line, no conversations that are weird in person. You just connect with the license

Ready to build a better sex life, visit Hems.com slash doll for a personalized plan for sex, hair, weight loss, and more. That's h-ims.com slash dollup. Prescription products require an online consultation with a licensed health care provider who will determine if a prescription is appropriate. Restrictions apply, individual results may vary based on a survey of HIMS customers.
Starting point is 00:57:52 See Hymns.com for details. Uh, yeah, so now there's Prop 13. Prop 13 was passed in like 78 or something. Rich homeowners and mega corporations are paying a fraction of the value of their real estate in property taxes. It was sold as a way to keep old people in their homes because homes are becoming so expensive and they're paying too much in property taxes,
Starting point is 00:58:20 which is reality. But the comedy of that now, when you're just like, how much did you pay for your home? I'm like, $8,000. Yeah, and I pay no taxes on it. But, like, the real problem is that we also gave that to corporations. Right. You might be able to get away with it.
Starting point is 00:58:40 with just doing old people, which I still also think, like, when you get old, you should sell your house and move on. But what are you talking about a death tax? A wealth tax? No, but when, like, the whole thing is like, we should let old people stay on their homes. Why, you did your life?
Starting point is 00:58:55 You don't need to, you don't need to live on the beach in fucking Carmel anymore. What age are we talking about you take their homes? You don't take their homes, but at some point you can't afford your fucking house anymore. Right. You're not, like, at some point, I'm going to have to move out of my fucking house
Starting point is 00:59:09 because now what is that? It's just mean. No, but at some point I'm gonna move. You were on a heater. I didn't think you'd hear me. At some point I'm gonna have to sell my house because I'm like, number one, I have to move out of the country
Starting point is 00:59:24 because if me and my wife ever get sick, we will then not have any money because that's how the system works. Like we'll have to move for Costa Rica or something where there's actually good health care for old people. But like you shouldn't get to, these old people are staying on like $6 million dollar fucking houses in Carmel and paying no
Starting point is 00:59:40 property tax and it's like no you should have to sell your house at some point and move on like sorry but that's how that's how it's going to work when you live in a place like this that's the fucking system that's how this shit is. But what you were sniffing on before too is the truth which is just like
Starting point is 00:59:56 it's when corporations became people it just that that just that was so fucking we knew well there's no there's also we were like what? There's also no fucking reason that Target should be getting a break from Prop 13 on the fucking property. Fuck off.
Starting point is 01:00:14 So, anyway, so whatever. So Prop 13 is a devastating thing for California. It's why our schools are like third worst in the country or whatever. So Karen allegedly cut prison oversight programs and parole services. Good. Smart. Zero new taxes on millionaires or large corporations. Zero.
Starting point is 01:00:35 Nothing. Business tax. incentives were pretty much intact. For that, Karen was given the John F. Kennedy profile and courage award. Oh, my God.
Starting point is 01:00:52 I mean... Oh, my God. What the fuck. That's devastating. They are so fucking awful. That's so bad. You are, like, when people are like, the Democrats and Republicans are different, you're like, okay. So, but can we agree
Starting point is 01:01:06 that they're both fucking awful in their own fucking fucking ways. That's... That's fucking crazy. Well, I mean, again, it's not like these people don't know what, like we're saying.
Starting point is 01:01:17 It's not like they don't know what works. They're just like good dinners. Yeah, like good shit. So all she has to do is completely cast aside the community and coalitions that had lifted her up
Starting point is 01:01:27 to get her there. That's all. In 2010, Diane Watson was retiring from Congress to, quote, care for her hundred-year-old mother. Because, unfortunately, that's now something I have to do because of some decisions in the legislature.
Starting point is 01:01:43 The assembly came to some conclusions. I mean, she's like 80, right? Yeah. The local Democratic machine now eyes Karen, who now was working across the aisle, betrayed her base. So she's the perfect successor. There was bad press because Karen missed 60% of her assembly votes while taking thousands of dollars in per diem wow i mean just like that so now we are fully dark side remember everything i described her as awesome what what you're thinking is how did she have the time yeah how did she have
Starting point is 01:02:19 the time yeah and now she's just fucking off and taking cash she retired this is retirement this is retirement totally or that she and her staff accepted sports tickets from oil giant british petroleum or when a long time first friend said she had changed and now, quote, needed to be treated like royalty. Everyone endorsed her. Obama, celebrities, even disgraced Republican sheriff Lee Baca. She won with 84% of the vote. It is so far beyond time.
Starting point is 01:02:59 This is what drives me insane. Yes. This is where the whole Democratic thing, what everybody thinks loses. me repeatedly Democrats will vote for someone who's completely changing a piece of shit or just someone who is a piece of shit and act like there's something different
Starting point is 01:03:17 they're not it's advertising and celebrity is it is so effective but you have to fucking read I know honestly you don't you don't even have to fucking read like you have to just kind of dig a little bit below what they're putting out yeah you're right
Starting point is 01:03:34 like you that's what is so shocking when you will talk to someone and you'll be like, how do you not know? Yeah. What do you, where are you, well, I don't know.
Starting point is 01:03:43 I'm kind of like the vibe. Like, it's like, Hey, Bcerra seems pretty good. I know. Really? Wait,
Starting point is 01:03:49 give me, give me three years. Like there's, it's really, it's just, just find a few people who do read and just like lightly read their things they wrote about what they read. And then you go,
Starting point is 01:04:03 oh, okay. Yeah, this is bad. Instead of just like, oh my God. Look at that. Katie Perry, Snoop Dog? I know who I'm voting for. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:04:15 So during her first four years in Congress, she continues to miss a lot of votes. Karen skipped over four times the rate of the median Congressperson and was ranked as more absent than 400 and other members of Congress. Wow. Now, is the strategy there that if you miss the votes, are you kind of influenced to miss those votes? Or she is not this many. No, she's just fucking jealous. No, this is just crazy.
Starting point is 01:04:48 This is someone not doing their job. And remember, Congress doesn't work that much as this. I know. She's just not there. I mean. She's not there. It's kind of the better version of the two. She's not even being influenced to not show up.
Starting point is 01:05:01 She's just like, well, fuck this. Tell them I'm sick. fucking watching a bar rescue marathon. Tell him I can't. In 2019, Karen backed this salt vote, which allowed the mega rich to deduct more out of their state and local taxes. I love the votes she's showing up for.
Starting point is 01:05:20 Yeah, right? It's a big one. In 2020, after cops murdered George Floyd and the ensuing uprising, Karen came up with the idea for Dems in Congress to kneel in silent. No, that was her? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:05:37 To kneel in silence while wearing Kente cloth. Oh, my God. That was, that was like terrible optically. It was also terrible because Nancy Pelosi was like, do I have an inward pass? It was like, lady, guys, it's also amazing to have a room full of 80-year-old's kneel. That is a huge risk.
Starting point is 01:05:58 Oh, that took a long time to get him down there. Oh, shit. Yeah, you're just here cracking, popping. Call 911. Oh, God, Chuck's hip. Ah, uh, steady Hoyer's down. They had to go down in there and hose them off after it was ever. Just like, just like helicopters, just like lifting them up slowly.
Starting point is 01:06:18 Jesus Christ. This room. Senator Blumenthal, don't try to get up on your own. I got this. Yeah, that was her idea. I mean, that really was when you were like, oh, so it is over. I remember seeing that. I was like, oh, it is over.
Starting point is 01:06:34 it's yeah the democrats if people don't remember it it's schumer and Pelosi and all these people but it's it's them kneeling down with their heads down and they're wearing the kente cloth which is obviously a white person african african something that white people wear yeah it's really bad um so people fucking everybody everybody is like what the fuck are you doing it's disgusting vomitous and the protesters are furious millions of protesters are furious remember these are the largest protest in american history all fucking furious. Prominent screenwriter Eric Haywood said, quote, what if they like just pass some laws instead of dressing up like a Wakandan chess set? Karen and her coalition, her little group of of Congress people, actually handed them the kente to put on. I'm picturing them off
Starting point is 01:07:31 to the side like, here you go, here's your kentay cloth. Just go ahead and new. I mean, they, they, because you remember, like, there were all these fucking just bullshit photo ops of, like, cops kneeling down with the protest. Oh, yeah. That's where they got this fucking idea. And to be, to watch that and go. Let's not sleep on the Kendall Jenner Pepsi commercial. Yeah, but to, but to watch that and go, oh, I have an idea. I mean, truly, this moment right here, she should have never been a, a actual good party, a party that understands what optics are.
Starting point is 01:08:04 fires whoever came up with the city. They're out of the party. They're out of the idea. It's such classic Democrat, like figuring it out. Honestly, there should be, we could replace Jump the Shark with Neil with Kente. Yeah. Oh, yeah. Like, you could just be like, I don't know, the first few seasons of that show were good, but
Starting point is 01:08:21 once they killed off that, like, like the Last of Us, it's like once they killed the main guy, you were just basically like, yeah, I don't know, it kind of was, they were kind of like kneeling with the Kente at that point. I don't know. I was like, once Pedro Pascal was gone, you're kind of just kneeling with the Kente for the rest of the second season. Okay, so this is a moment for Karen, right?
Starting point is 01:08:41 She was built for this moment with all the community organizing and they're bringing people together, right? Wow. So she works on a bill in response to the demands of BLM to reallocate money from police into social programs. Mm-hmm.
Starting point is 01:08:57 But this is, so she didn't sit down with movement groups or commens. that were affected, like in the past. This time, she sat down with the fraternal order of police, which is the cop union. The worst. And I mean... How do we replace Derek Chauvin's knee?
Starting point is 01:09:17 The worst human beings in the country. Hands down. Unreal to not even do the performative thing. Right. Like, at least fake it. And then be like, I will also sit down with that. But she's so fucking lost. that she just sees bringing people together as a thing.
Starting point is 01:09:38 Honestly, God, there should be, we really should study her brain for CTE. I mean, this is a, this is a talk, this is like, I remember when GPS, like, started. And I remember one time it, like, had me in the ocean. And I was like, I just need to, like, reboot the whole fucking, like, this is a reboot the whole system sort of thing. I mean, so then she waters down the bill even more to win over the corporate funded problem solvers caucus, which are bipartisan hacks. Like when a kid makes like a cake on the beach, none of this is edible. What are you doing?
Starting point is 01:10:23 It's just sand, saltwater, and shells. So she brings it. The problem solvers caucus hate progressives. Right. They hate the fucking left. It's so funny to be called the problem. It's so great. The end bill funneled...
Starting point is 01:10:39 The problem solvers. The end bill funneled hundreds of millions... Oh, my God. Two police instead of communities. The ACL calls it a non-starter and the bill never gets out of the Senate. Oh, my God. Just remarkable to be like, well, we finally worked out of bill to help the cops. George Floyd did not die in vain.
Starting point is 01:11:01 We will fix this through giving the police hundreds of millions of dollars. I mean, it's just so fucking amazing what she came from and what she did for fucking 20 years. And then to make a bill for a fucking cop union during BLM. Like, it's fucking crazy. It's so, it really is so fucking. because this is the thing. It's like we have seen over the past, you know, whatever, six years, really last three years maybe, the downgrading and degradation of George Floyd.
Starting point is 01:11:43 Yeah. And the sort of working. The right is convinced that he just died from a drug overdose of fentanyl. Which is just, again, I mean, you really have to have like a half of a brain. By the right, I mean my brother-in-law. Right. Of course, awesome stuff. That's awesome. But you also, the kind of rehabbing of Derek Chauvin. And those things are only allowed to happen because this is, it's like if you don't fix the problems, the crazies are going to keep coming out. That's right. And it's going to get crazier and crazier. And so when you actually don't address the problem. And again, it's the, it would not only be the massively popular decision, it would be, you would finance.
Starting point is 01:12:25 benefit from it. That's why I can't get over these fucking people don't understand whether it's a celebrity or a politician or whoever it is. It's like,
Starting point is 01:12:33 even when you're watching the Sebastian Manoscalco comedian shit that's going on right now, you're like, how do you just, dude, just come out and be like,
Starting point is 01:12:42 you're right. Yeah. You're going to be loved. We're going to carry you off the field. Yeah. Yeah. It's not hard.
Starting point is 01:12:49 It's not hard. But instead, they're just so fucking, they're just hooked on colluding. Yeah. It's crazy. Okay, so Gareth, of course, after all this, a buzz around Karen is growing. After stumbling for Biden and telling the press, Bernie Sanders had a bad relationship with black people because he didn't call her specifically.
Starting point is 01:13:17 Wow. She was picked to co-chair a fake unity task force to placate Bernie. Supporters. Unity Task Force. Open the fucking door. Break it down. Flash bombs. A fake Unity Task Force to placate Bernie supporters into being
Starting point is 01:13:39 conservative Biden supporters. So they look at the field and what this woman just did with the BLM fucking bill that she tried to do. And they thought, oh, hey, she'll bring in Bernie people because they're out of their
Starting point is 01:13:55 fucking minds. So they pick her to be this bridge with Bernie people who any, any Bernie person is like, I don't like her. This is when her career knelt the Kente. It really is so, I mean, it's just absolutely fucking crazy. I mean, so she and labor. I can't, I can't believe there's a second part. I'm going to jump through a wall. The second part's crazy. So she and labor leader. Sarah Nelson lead this task force. Sarah Nelson is awesome. Sarah Nelson is the flight attendants union leader.
Starting point is 01:14:35 She should actually run for fucking president. Karen waters down Bernie's proposals, strips out a wealth tax that Elizabeth Warren wanted, and cut a jobs guarantee. Sarah Nelson blasts this, saying leaving out a jobs guarantee because Sarah Nelson, oh, is a fucking labor leader.
Starting point is 01:15:02 There's no... I can't. Jobs... It's like one of the few metrics you'll be publicly judged by it. Why would you get rid of a jobs guarantee? They're so fucking stupid. Saying leaving out a jobs guarantee was built on cruel and dishonest premise that a percentage of people should stay unemployed
Starting point is 01:15:20 to control inflation. Look, okay, so we've taken away the cheese and the tomato sauce from the pizza. Do we have to have crust? Can we not use the silver thing that goes underneath it and just throw it on the table? Can we just put some pepperoni on a dish? I got it. Cheese on the floor. Yeah,
Starting point is 01:15:38 there we go. Suck it up. You're welcome. Blue no matter who. Sarah Nelson said it, quote, undermines labor's place at the table. Now, of course... Sarah Nelson was probably like, do I have to say this? I mean, well, she attacked it. Yeah, of course, but she's like, you know.
Starting point is 01:15:56 You never have a jobs guarantee. So this, doing this, helps Karen rise in Biden world, which had decided it was going to pick a black woman for vice president. Which, by the way, that stuff is also, that, like, that's what he did with the Supreme Court. It's like, it's also kind of like this weird, icky thing where you're like, what are you doing? He's like, we're going to pick a black woman for the Supreme Court. You're like, could you just... Just pick her and then you're...
Starting point is 01:16:32 And then it's a black woman. You have to say it. Like, why are you saying it? Don't call the shot. Just do it. Yeah. We like black people. Do you remember when they, when they were like, oh my God, look, his whole, the whole
Starting point is 01:16:43 White House spokes team are women. You're like, so then it's women saying terrible shit? Like, what? Yeah. What? Congratulations. But it was a pretty good mood. I mean, unfortunately, you're like, well, that's, that's worked.
Starting point is 01:16:55 Yeah, until it didn't. Yeah. So she's rising up. They're going to pick a black woman for vice president. Karen, with her experience, her progressive, you know, background immediately is, like, considered a top choice. What's great about Karen is she used to Karen. She's completely abandoned that, but it hasn't been that long. But someone has oppo on her because clips start coming out of Karen's unnecessary.
Starting point is 01:17:22 I'm betting this is Camalo's people of Karen's unnecessary and very stupid 2010 appearance at the opening of the Scientology Center in Hollywood. What the actual fuck! In which she said, quote,
Starting point is 01:17:40 this day and this new church of Scientology is an exciting moment because I know your goal and commitment is truly to make a difference. Oh, my fucking... God. Everybody in LA knows what Scientology is. Yeah, at 2010, there's not anybody who's confused.
Starting point is 01:17:59 In 2010, the cat was out of the bag. Way out of the bag. In 2010, the Miscavage was still in the yard somewhere. We haven't seen her since. This is post-jumping on the couch and your glib mat, your glib. She also said, quote, the words are exciting of your founder, L. Ron Hubbard. Oh, my God!
Starting point is 01:18:17 In the creed of the Church of Scientology. The Church of Scientology, I know has made a difference because your creed is a universal creed and speaks to all people everywhere, including the locked up. We are. Yes, of course. Of course, of course, of course. Yes, listen, we all recognize that we have a bunch of sick aliens in our bellies and
Starting point is 01:18:40 we're going to hopefully, through testing and through thermometers we put in our hands, after spending a billion years cleaning your ships, we will all end up to Zeno. So we're really excited. The first year I worked on Talking Dead, we were at this studio that nobody used because it was the cheapest show on Earth. And it was one that Scientology ended up buying because it was like a local TV station that went out of business. So it was like in this transitioning period before they bought it, I think they were negotiating. And man, all of a sudden, all these Scientologists showed up and they're working. And I swear to God, you know when there's a...
Starting point is 01:19:22 like a grate on the ground, like a rusty grate that the water goes into. I walked by one of those one day, and there were two dudes in khakis and blue polo shirts scrubbing it with toothbrushes. Oh, my God. Oh, my God. Okay. And the Democrats are like, yeah, that's right. Oh, my God.
Starting point is 01:19:52 Now, see, pretty obvious the big problem. there's the toothbrushes. Because you give them like, you know, whatever, an industrial sprayer of some sort, hey, they want to clean great. When it's a toothbrush, you're like, these men are being punished.
Starting point is 01:20:10 Punished. These men are being punished. Or just learning in a cult to do menial jobs as if that's your value. I mean, if you leave Scientology and become Amish, you're like, this is a breeze. So,
Starting point is 01:20:27 It's such a crazy own goal for... I mean, that is just shocking. Even for Democrats, they were like, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, what do we do? What do we do? What are we doing? What are we doing? Who know about that one? So Karen now has to defend herself, and she says she spoke glowingly at the grand opening
Starting point is 01:20:45 because it was in her district. Turns out it wasn't in her district. So she pivoted to being there to speak to people with, quote, beliefs that differ wildly from her own, because they all. agreed basically that racism was bad. Then she claimed not to know anything about any Scientology abuses, even though a few weeks earlier, Anderson Cooper on CNN, had did this hugely popular series on the abuses of Scientology.
Starting point is 01:21:13 That is a terrible cover because it's like, so what, you just have no idea how to get information into your head? I didn't know Scientology was bad. Because she's not a good politician. She's a good community organizer. That's why everything that we've seen from her as mayor, everything we've seen from her since she went to the assembly, she's not a good politician.
Starting point is 01:21:37 She's a good community organizer. If she is a politician did the same thing and organized communities to come together to push bills, she would be wildly successful. She's a fucking shitty politician. Well, but that's under the premise that a politician wants to do good things. No, I'm not saying they, I'm not saying they do. But even as a politician who doesn't want,
Starting point is 01:21:57 want to do good things, you still should have the wherewithal to avoid these bad things. But she's a shitty politician. She's a shitty politician. Terrible. Yes. Fuck me. And then, and then again, someone is putting out Opel on her. Then came reports about her trip to Cuba and calling Castro's death a great loss and calling
Starting point is 01:22:20 him Commandant El Hefe. Florida Republican Cuban exiles lost their shit. And Karen said she had been naive, but also that she had the same POV on Cuba as the Obama administration. She said she was no Castro sympathizer. Fucking. You went there eight times. You said he was hot. You went to his speeches.
Starting point is 01:22:49 You fucking worked for the revolution. It's just, it's incredible to always make the wrong step. And then she said, but these things I have said about Castro aren't really a problem in California. Quote, I'm not a socialist. I'm not a communist. I belong to one party my entire life. And that's the Democratic Party. And I'm a Christian.
Starting point is 01:23:12 Well, hello. Talk about Scientology. I mean, you were a communist. At the very least, you were a socialist. The Democrat instinct to run away from. from your popular times to beat the right wing at their own game. Crazy. Real fun.
Starting point is 01:23:34 The attacks, along with her really terrible fucking responses, gets her booted from Biden World. They chose Kamala Harris, who had already been vetted during her incredible future presidential run in which she had to drop out before Iowa because she was going to come in third in California. Who knew what else might come out about Karen? So they're like, what else is going to come out with this fucking loon? In Congress, Karen couldn't barely get anything done. During her entire tenure. She wasn't there. Right.
Starting point is 01:24:07 During her entire tenure, she got one bill passed renaming a post office, the Marvin Gay Post Office. She's like an S&L character. She's a fucking cloud. Is that because every time you walk into the post office, you're like, what is going on? Man. She is a fucking club. She was so good because she was using her skills that God gave her. So she was pro-gay rights.
Starting point is 01:24:39 And then she just turned into whatever and the fuck this is. She probably worked so hard to get that post office for names. Oh, fuck. Yeah, Marvin Gay Pope. I mean, like, no upside. No. We could go to the one 10 minutes away. That's the Marvin Gay one.
Starting point is 01:24:57 Yeah, okay. Oh, my God. So she wants power, she wants decision-making power, and L.A. has a terrible homeless crisis, and she sees a lot of anger towards it. And she's like, okay. Called my kente. So she says she sees real anger in L.A.
Starting point is 01:25:20 and she's worried that it will lead to a conservative backlash of crime and punishment policies like happened in the 1990s. She wants to stop that. One of the kids from Laguna Hills might be in charge. But not careful. And the way to help was to run for mayor of Los Angeles. She has deep roots there. She rejects the notion that she was running as a stepping stone or ambition-driven career move.
Starting point is 01:25:48 Quote, I wasn't sitting back in D.C. going, ooh, what's my next move? What's my next position? No, you weren't there. She said she decided to run only a few weeks after thinking of it. about it. I'm quote tossing everything up in the air because I feel my city is in a crisis. So she wants to stay in L.A., she says, not be a jet setter like L.A.'s previous mayor, Eric Garcetti, who was always flying around doing shit. Big fancy pants. She promised the L.A. Times that she would never travel internationally as mayor, only visiting the state capital and Washington, D.C.
Starting point is 01:26:28 and Zeno. And boy, she will never travel internationally. I can't think of one specific instance. Well, if she does, nobody will know. Where that happens? Nobody will know. And it was a terrible decision. And if she does, it'll be a short flight.
Starting point is 01:26:42 It'll be a quick one. Karen brought in City Hall's most successful expert on housing and homeless and providing them with services, which was Nithia Rahman. Nithia had been elected a city council in 2020 and was implementing new strategy. She's using evidence-based. tactics that actually work. Has she tested that out in the polls? She, yeah, some were obvious.
Starting point is 01:27:07 We call it effective strategy. She was putting up a no camping sign and patrolling the area with cops. Doesn't get people indoors. No. So using, and then some things aren't obvious, right? So like using an encampment by encampment approach, targeting a single encampment,
Starting point is 01:27:25 city workers build relationships of trust with the people there, and when the guy in the tent next door sees his neighbor being helped by government workers and being brought in doors, instead of getting fucked, he would go inside too.
Starting point is 01:27:42 So it's like organizing, using trust, letting people know you're there to help them. So she's pioneered long-term health leases, hotel vouchers make up for the, Because there is, despite what the right wing likes to say, there is simply not enough housing to put people in in L.A. It's total bullshit. There's a very small supply of interim housing beds
Starting point is 01:28:08 while people wait for permanent housing. So Nithia is using this process that's really never been used in Los Angeles to get people off the streets. And she's restoring public trust with the homeless. So Karen sees this and is like, I'm going to replicate this model. Okay.
Starting point is 01:28:30 And she campaigns on it. And she calls for more urgency, expanding vouchers, using federal and state funding instead of just letting it expire, which was a big thing that happened. But, I mean, we've let hundreds of millions of dollars that was ready for the homeless to expire. And then Rick Caruso, who's a billionaire mall builder, a Republican who said he was a Democrat, who once told him. Joe Rogan, the thing in his life that gives him an intense sense of euphoria is his daily combination of cold plunge in infrared sauna. You got to love. He got it from fucking Rick Russo.
Starting point is 01:29:09 You got a love. Oh, no. I think so. Oh, see, I always think that's every time anyone goes. It's like when Mark Zuckerberg went out there and he was like, maybe. How cool is punching things with your fisty hands? I mean, maybe he just said that to him because he also did it. Hey, one of my favorite thing to do is meat smoker.
Starting point is 01:29:26 and enjoy it outside in a normal chair. Oxygen is really fun for your lungs to have. Because that's also, they all do that when they go to Rogan, too. Like, hey, may we have a cigar? Those are very fun for your relaxation activities. You know what I love is the cold plunge. It is very cold, but then you're able to do the sauna later, and that is the opposite sensation to your body.
Starting point is 01:29:54 So Rick Crusoe throws his hat in. he's going to run for mayor. It's a law and order campaign. It's against the homeless. You know, it's sweeping up the streets and crime and corruption, all that fucking usual bullshit. And there's a lot of L.A. L.A. is like the worst run study in the country.
Starting point is 01:30:09 There's a ton of corruption. Shocking. An FBI operation found city council member, John Lee, was being bribed by developers, getting sex workers, laundering money with casino chips, and getting cash exchanged in gross public bathrooms. another ex-council member was indicted for, among other things, receiving $400,000 in a brown paper bag, also in a bathroom.
Starting point is 01:30:33 By the way, way, way more into that than poker chips. Yeah. Just like casino money to be like, I don't know. But at least that was smart and that you... Kind of. Well, you're kind of laundering in it in some way. I guess, but I would still be like, wait a minute. There's no bucky casino.
Starting point is 01:30:48 But you can, but that way you can cash in the chips and go, oh, I gambled and won. Yeah. But this way, you're just getting $400,000 and you've got to put it somewhere. Yeah. That's all. And Rick Jacobs, who was a powerful advisor to Mayor Eric Garcetti, who was accused of sexually harassing a cop, forcing tight hugs, grabbing the cop's biceps, massaging him, and saying, quote, you're so strong and handsome. I did not know that. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 01:31:16 That was a big deal. Caruso campaign strategy was just... Garcetti? Yeah, Garcetti was shit. Caruso campaign. strategy was to just outspend. He blew a hundred million of his own money on fucking mayor. But don't forget
Starting point is 01:31:30 the amount of celebrities that came out for you. Oh my God, we'll get there. Okay. Um, he got and in many cases purchased endorsements. Snoop Dogg, Elon Musk, Kim Kardashian, Gwyneth Paltrow, Wolfgang Puck, Lisa Vanderpump, Jessica Alba, Chris Jenner, Scooter Braun, Paris Hilton, George Lopez, Katie Perry, and
Starting point is 01:31:50 Shank Ung-Gy. Oh, that's right. I forgot about that. Boy, that was his right wing turn. That list is just, it has, it is a list, it really should just be a fucking, it would be a BuzzFeed list of the worst people in celebrity. I mean, oh my God, Gwyneth Paltrow. Yeah. Kim Cardage. Chris Jenner, Schroeder Braun. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:32:16 Oh, man. Bobby Hitler. at one point he gave 5,000 to the Italian American Golf Association. Now, I bring that up because the Italian American part is very notable because, so tapes have been leaked of three Latino politicians plotting to keep power away from among others, Nithia Rahman and the black political machine. they called council member Mike. Mike Bonin is a white guy,
Starting point is 01:32:54 but he adopted a black son. They called his black son a little monkey and said he needed a beatdown. Counselman Kevin DeLeon compared the child to a designer handbag. So that's the... There's audio of that. Yes.
Starting point is 01:33:13 Someone went above the room and recorded it. So that's the vibe. in L.A. at that point, and then there's a debate. And the moderator said the choice was between a black woman and a white man, and Crusoe immediately interrupted. Excuse me.
Starting point is 01:33:30 Asserting that he's not white. Oh, boy. He's Italian. So, he's Latin. You're Betty. What are you doing? My arm hurt. I don't know why, but one of my arms is killing me all of a sudden. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:33:48 Yeah. Feel free to look up a picture at Rick Crusoe. He's Latin. Oh, shit. He's Latin. Ah, spread to my neck. I'm Latin. Excuse me, I want to stop you right there.
Starting point is 01:34:06 I'm Italian. So I'm basically J-Lo. I'm Ricky from the block. Do you not know how maps work, Rick? I don't need to. So the media goes crazy. Twitter goes crazy. columnist. Everybody goes fucking crazy.
Starting point is 01:34:21 And it's perfect timing for Karen, who also has this minor scandal happening out of her own. A few weeks before, she had been traveling, and there was a break-in at her house, and she was robbed. But the robbers did not take the cash that was there, or the valuables that was there. Instead, they stole just two 38 revolvers from a lock-by. in her closet. Now, two men in the valley were arrested in this extremely bizarre crime,
Starting point is 01:34:56 and they pled no contest. And then Caruso started hitting her with jabs, saying she was so big on gun control, and now she was responsible for two guns hitting the streets. And I know what guns can do to the streets. I'm a Latin king. So we clearly hired someone. He clearly hired.
Starting point is 01:35:19 Right. It's the most transparently stupid thing. Yeah. Fuck, they're dumb. Yeah, well, if you're also dumb. Steal other shit. It's just... How hard is it to take other stuff?
Starting point is 01:35:29 I know. You should just take it a bunch of other stuff. Why would you just take the gun? Yeah. It's so fucking dumb. We have a few more things. Turner and Hooch DVD. Whatever she's got.
Starting point is 01:35:38 So election night in California is always weird, especially the L.A., early voters are Republican. And then early tallies always come out and they're conservative. looking, right? Oh, look, the conservatives are winning. I call it rigged. But no one is worried, right? And especially cruises at the top, the first night. Okay, big deal. But idiots,
Starting point is 01:35:58 they're all crowing about California's done a turn to the right and there's a red wave. Rod Dreher wrote, The woke left gave Los Angeles what they wanted, and it gave it to him good and hard. And Brett Stevens said, quote,
Starting point is 01:36:13 the left is being mugged by reality. Of course, a few days later, Karen overtook him. because that's what happens. We count the votes. Brett Stevens never had a reality to be mugged. No. She won't with a six-point lead. Okay.
Starting point is 01:36:29 So for her first thing she does, she declares a state of emergency on homelessness. Right. Which is what she said she was going to do. That's why people voted for her. So this gives the mayor's office more power and flexibility to move resources
Starting point is 01:36:42 and bypass ordinary procedures that could slow her responses. Which is what L.A. is. It's just as junk. clogged machine. Right. Like accelerate contracts to bring people indoors, remove or modify red tape that impeded housing, acquire rooms, properties, land for housing,
Starting point is 01:37:01 and coordinate city departments. City council unanimously approves it. Karen has step it up. She's taking full responsibility for the crisis. She continued with some executive directives. She crucially set the ball in motion for her signature homeless plan called Inside Safe. Right.
Starting point is 01:37:21 This was taking what Nithiaramund did from her district, which was extremely successful and scale it up citywide. Most importantly was the part that was most humane. Nobody can be forced inside. If they didn't want to take their own hotel rooms, they were allowed to stay given a new tent, given supplies, and the area cleaned. and sterilized. She forced the LAPD to stay around the corner while this was going on so they would not intimidate the homeless
Starting point is 01:38:01 as they decide whether or not to trust the local government. Very hard for them to do. If any of you ever seen them trying to have to stand back to not intimidate, it's like taking your dog to the dog park and leaving it in the car. The energy is really intense. So, yeah, they're trying to build up trust.
Starting point is 01:38:21 right? And the cops had just been... Really would love to get over there and intimidate a little bit. And the cops have just been cracking homeless skull forever, right? That's like their thing. So it's a huge success off the bat. One homeless man wept openly,
Starting point is 01:38:36 telling council member Hugo Soto Martinez's office that he had been waiting for this moment for years. He had become homeless because he spent all his money on his daughter's cancer treatments after his house burned down. So stories like this are all over the place. Despite what right wiggers want you to believe
Starting point is 01:38:57 that everyone's on drugs, no, it's a fucking system. I think like 40% of LA homeless have jobs. I think that's the number. You know, it's shocking. Like, and so they're on drugs, really? Because they're also working at Target, you fuck. But then came problems.
Starting point is 01:39:14 Karen became very deferential to council members. DSA council members like Sotom Martinez and Nithia checked in on ex-homeless neighbors at hotels, making sure they retrieve with dignity and respect, but reactionaries like Tracy Park and Monica Rodriguez. By the way, Monica Rodriguez is the district
Starting point is 01:39:38 that is closest to where I live. I live in L.A. County, so I don't actually live in the cities, but just like two miles away is her district. filthy fucking just disgusting her district is fucking disgusting um so
Starting point is 01:39:54 they they just let people languish in these terrible conditions that included cockroaches, mold so they get moved indoors but there's faulty plumbing there's broken locks there's powder outages all the time one room had mushrooms growing in it well that's a good one I mean it's something to eat that's fun so so that's what she's that's what I have I would If I have the choice that when they ask you what floor you want to stay on, I just go, as long as I can forage.
Starting point is 01:40:21 Yeah, as long as there's mushrooms. So whenever these assholes, Tracy Park and Monica Ruius, talk about getting the people indoors and off the street, they're putting them in the worst situation as humanly possible. So then the people want to get the fuck out on the street. They're fucking idiots. So, and then the cops come. Good. So many council members, many council members don't want. this plan that works that Nifia came up with, they want the cops in front.
Starting point is 01:40:52 It's just insane. It's just dumb. It's dumb and it's like so. It doesn't work. It doesn't work and it's horrible. It's like, what is your upside here? Well, we get to be real pricks. Why do you need the cops in the situation?
Starting point is 01:41:06 Is it not what they're supposed to do? No, they make them go do crime. Yeah. Whatever the fuck they're supposed to do. Or whatever it is. I mean, literally do crime. Yeah, literally. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:41:14 So Karen gives it to the council members. even in DSA council member districts after an operation ended cops immediately moved in and intimidated who anyone who does who who wants to remain why being homeless yeah what do you fucking do it why are you doing homeless quit being home and get a home once a Soto Martinez advisor stayed after the cleanup for hours and had to keep flashing his badge of cops who kept stopping to harass a mentally ill man but the next morning the man was gone and the man was gone likely moved on by police. So here's the, it's both bad and dumb and dumb and bad. First, pushing people from block to block doesn't do anything. It's truly. It's the dumbest thing ever. It's just the dumb, it is the dumbest tactic.
Starting point is 01:42:04 Yeah. Second, many, if not most, are connected to service providers. They're on wait lists for shelters, for housing. if the cops come and bounce them then the provider the government worker who had them on a wait list now loses track and they go to the end of the line for services you've now made their stay on the street longer and more difficult karen knew this and safe inside was working and its first year they brought in over 2,000 people indoors around 80% stayed and a quarter replaced in permanent housing.
Starting point is 01:42:46 So it's working. They're getting people on the street. Then the idiots are like, oh, crack heads, get it, but. Now, said she pissed off the cops by not letting them crack skulls of poor people whenever they wanted. She, in turn, through the cops, a huge bone. Karen was saying she wanted to fully fund a police department that was
Starting point is 01:43:08 hammering officers. So, like, after the whole Black Lives Matter shit hit, they could not find anyone who wanted to be a cop. It was a they they just couldn't. Everyone's like, yeah, no, I don't think so. So there's less and less officers. And so she's like, we'll fund it and bring back the departments to previous numbers.
Starting point is 01:43:27 And she puts it in her budget. But she knew it was going to be impossible to do. And once the city council got a hold of it, they slashed the numbers. So there's no way they could hire that many cops. So the DSA council members did the hard work of RIA council members did the hard work of RIA reallocating that extra money into unarmed crisis response, which lowers the operating budget for the LAPD for the first time in recent memory. So I think at that point there's three DSA people,
Starting point is 01:43:58 but they work hard to get that changed. And then Karen made $180. When it came time to renegotiate the police salaries, Karen just, didn't just give in to the cop. union's demands, she gave them more than they asked for. She brought their loyalty for her election, right? She just bought the cops. The one problem was it will bankrupt the city of Los Angeles by adding one billion in costs. DSA council numbers, Soto Martinez, Nithia Rahman,
Starting point is 01:44:43 vote against it, but it sails through council. Nithia, specifically, said it's going to eat up money from other departments. And she singled out one specific department, the fire department. And next we'll have part two. Oh, fuck my fucking brain. I don't know why I singled out the fire department. Well, I also remember, it's funny because it's not funny,
Starting point is 01:45:07 but I remember when this was going on. It was also there was a lot of like animal shelter shit and stuff like that. Oh, my God. There were so many. She shifted. And when you see the pie chart, the pie chart is all. Like, crazy.
Starting point is 01:45:20 She, she, I'm not kidding. San Francisco is going to go bankrupt because of cop salaries and cop, uh, lawsuit liabilities. It is 100% going bankrupt. And it's all because of Nithi Rahman. Yeah, but when there's crime, I'm sorry, it's all because of care of pass. Yeah, right. But when there's crime there, the cops will be able to stop it.
Starting point is 01:45:41 Crime because people have no money based on that previous decision. We'll have enough cops to stop it. I always go back to it. And this is happening all of it. the country. The cops are bankrupting the cities because they don't care. They're taking all the money out of the cities and then they're also they're also just beating people up so that there are lawsuits because they don't live in the city. I was just going to say they don't live there. They never live there. So they're happy to destroy it. Yeah, they go to work. They're literally what I say they're happy
Starting point is 01:46:07 to destroy it. I mean, they're watching Fox News and they're happy to destroy the cities. They're destroying the cities. And democratic politicians are going along with it. We just at some point have to have an alternative party. And this whole idea that we do is just the fucking dumbish shit. The thing that you take away from Ralph Nader's run, he wrote a book about his run. It's literally, they've literally created so many laws and different organizations, different things. You cannot run independently and win. Well, by the way, even if you could, the majority of dipshitschits still,
Starting point is 01:46:48 view Ralph Nader as the reason that that election got us W. And it's like, talk about just reading a little bit. You don't have to read a lot. You can read a very little bit. And first of all, find out that Al Gore won. And second of all, find out that, I mean, Ralph, so Ralph Nader did not lose him the election. Right. And then they stole it.
Starting point is 01:47:11 Yeah. But then you bring that up and they go, but it shouldn't have been that close. And you're like, no, that's not how it works. They won. Yeah, too many of you voted for the wrong guy. The Democrats won. And you guys voted for the wrong guy. And by the, yeah, he won. He won. He won. We know that. They counted all the votes afterwards. He won. And Gore said, I, for the unity of the country, I'm giving up.
Starting point is 01:47:30 As much as I strong. Cool, man. And then they got three. And then they got three Supreme Court's decisions. And then they got three Supreme Court justices out of that. And then Old Lady didn't retire from the Supreme Court in time. And then Obama did nothing. when they blocked a Supreme Court justice because he thought it would help. Yeah, but then they...
Starting point is 01:47:51 That's five Supreme Court justices. Hold on, but then thankfully, the guy who we wanted to be the Supreme Court justice, we made a charge of the Justice Department and he didn't do anything. Do you understand how cool the world is? Stand up. You like that? I didn't know you like that.
