Coming up on this episode of The Doctor's Pharmacy.
Here's a mantra for you. It's a prayer. I'm open to creative possibilities.
When I say that, what happens is it opens your consciousness up to
release that single-pointed focus of this was the only way that this could have happened
and open you up to, well, what's possible now.
Hey everyone, it's Dr. Hyman here.
Starting the morning right is such a key piece
to feeling great throughout the entire day
and doing the things you love.
Now, I bet most of you can relate to waking up
and eating a cup of coffee before you feel fully functional,
and I've definitely been there myself.
But I started a new routine every morning,
and now it's something I can't wait to get out of bed for.
Instead of regular coffee, I've been drinking Four Sigmatic's Ground Mushroom Coffee
with Lion's Mane and Chaga.
And it gives me energy that is much longer lasting,
along with a better sense of focus and calm.
Instead of that jittery feeling and without the late morning caffeine crash.
Lately, I've been loving blending this up with some ice,
cacao powder, and coconut
milk for a really tasty summer morning treat. Now, I know you might have your doubt about the
taste of mushrooms, but I promise Four Sigmatic's ground mushroom coffee just tastes like a robust,
delicious cup of coffee, and you don't even know there are therapeutic mushrooms hiding inside.
Lion's Mane supports productivity and creativity and Chaga,
known as the king of mushrooms, has beneficial support for the immune system. All Four Sigmatic
products are organic, vegan, and gluten-free. Every single batch is tested in a third-party lab for
heavy metals, allergens, bad bacteria, yeast molds, mycotoxins, pesticides, and to check for purity and
safety. And no worries if you don't love it.

to this week's episode. Hi, I'm Kaya Perot at one of the producers of The Doctor's Pharmacy.
How do we take action toward pursuing our dreams in a time of so much
change and uncertainty? At the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic, Dr. Hyman discussed this
question with bestselling author, Gabrielle Bernstein. Right now, it's an unusual time.
And you say in your book that when you have faith in the universe, it becomes safe to hold big visions even if you can't see them yet and and the question is in this time where
um people don't feel safe in this time where you know even if you had dreams and visions for your
life and i know i had that have been completely derailed um you know how, how do we deal with this in this time? And what holds people back in the
best of times from pursuing their dreams? There's so much I want to say on this,
I'm just going to rant, okay? First things first, I have a mantra that I use whenever I feel that
there's a block in the way. And if it's particularly around an abundance block or a, actually,
you know, it's really just around any block. I would, and I offer this up for people who are having abundance blocks or blocks around life purpose and goals and visions. Here's a mantra
for you. It's a prayer. I'm open to creative possibilities. When I say that, what happens is it opens your consciousness up to
release that single-pointed focus of this was the only way that this could have happened
and open you up to, well, what's possible now? So it's a prayer. It's a prayer. It's saying
guidance that I'm aware of, a God of my own
understanding. I am open to creative possibilities. Show me what you've got, right? Reveal to me what
I can do right now. And so that energetic state can relax you because it gives you this opportunity
to stop searching and start allowing. But it's also just
a very different vibrational stance to be in. So that's step one. The other thing that I do,
and I believe this has been the key to the momentum that's been the work I've done in the
world, and I think you can probably find your own agreement with this, and it's probably a practice
that could be most valuable for us right now.
And it's a method in Super Attractor called the Spiritually Aligned Action Method.
And here's the message behind it.
The message behind it is that whenever we take an action from a place of fear or uncertainty
or grasping or controlling, it will not be supported because that energy is funky, right?
So if you send an email with that graspy energy, the universe doesn't support it because the other
person on the receiving end feels assaulted by that email, right? It's what you talk about as
pushers, right? People who push and try to control and reach their goals and feel safe, right?
Right, baby. That's right. The actions that we take right now in the pursuit of momentum for getting a new job or running a business or
keeping healthy or whatever it may be has to come from a place of spiritual alignment.
Because when we take an action from that centered place of spiritual alignment,
it is greatly supported. It's supported by others because what happens is those that are
on the receiving end feel like you're not assaulting them, right? They feel relaxed in
your relaxed delivery. So here's how it works. Step one is to make sure that your desire,
whatever it is, is backed with love and service and not your own ego, right? And so our ego gets
into the story of like, I was supposed to be that way. Or our ego gets into the story of like,
I'm losing money right now, or I lost my job and I'll never get another job again.
But get back into why do I love the work that I do? What is the service behind the work that I do?
And we can use your example right now.
Love and service is this book I wrote will help people stay healthy right now.
Love and service, right?
And the second step is to have faith.
And that's where we have to return to our spiritual condition in whatever form that comes.
So that faith comes through prayer,
that faith comes through the affirmation.
I just said, I'm open to creative possibilities.
That faith is asking of us to return to a centered state.
However we get there individually,
there's methods all throughout the book.
There's methods all online that are free,
but coming back to center through meditation,
through prayer, so that we can get grounded in the faith that everything is working out for me. I am truly supported and
taken care of, even though I can't see it right now, as you quoted me before. That's step one and
two. And then step three is that only take action from that place of service, love, and faith. No action unless it's coming from that
place. So if you're out there writing a newsletter to your audience or you're sending an email for
employment, ask yourself, tune in, is this email backed with service, love, and faith? Is this
post on social media backed with service, love, and faith? Is this post on social media backed with service,
love, and faith? Is this announcement about the book backed with service, love, and faith?
And when you know that you're grounded in that place of service, love, and faith,
you know that you're there because you're not attached to the outcome.
Right. Right. So whenever you take an action, when you've released the outcome, it will always be supported. Now, the final step, the other end of it. And that attachment to the result is what
causes all the suffering and pain and actually impairs your ability to get what you want.
Exactly. And then the final step, which is so relevant right now, is patience.
So we have to continue to take action. If you're unemployed, you have to seek employment and get on LinkedIn and create work on your resume.
If you are a business owner struggling to sell your products,
do not try selling a single product until you are spiritually aligned.
It will fail.
It will offend.
It will offend.
It will come off as tone deaf.
I really, really, really cannot emphasize this method enough right now. We all have to take action in order to keep the momentum of our lives going. We can't just, you know, crumble and fall apart to the point of that will be the demise of our economic system if we all just stop working and fail to show up, right? So what we have to do right now is really use this time
to strengthen our commitment to service and love,
set devotional practices that strengthen our faith.
And then when we feel that we're in that alignment,
that's when we take an action.
Often we don't spend the time to identify a clear vision for our lives.
We sometimes tell ourselves our dreams are impossible
even before thinking about what steps
it would take to reach them.
John and Missy Butcher designed a system
that breaks down the most important aspects of living well
and guides you to create the life you envision.
How to have healthy relationships,
how to manage your financial life,
how to manage your health.
These are like foundational ideas
that we kind of learn by accident, if at all,
in our lives. And most people end up pretty unhappy and miserable because they haven't
been thoughtful or intentional about it. So take us through, for you, what was the sort of
insights that led you to sort of come up with these four questions? And can you go over what
those are for each category
and how those work to help people create this life vision?
12 categories of life that we focus on are,
the first five are your personal life categories.
These are you separate from the rest of the world.
These do not require the cooperation of others like your career.
It requires the cooperation of others.
Parenting, your social life. These first five are you it requires the cooperation of others parenting your social life
These first five are you separate from the rest of the world? They're your health and fitness
intellectual life
emotional life
Character and your spiritual life. Yeah, those are the five categories that are all you was interesting
You make health and fitness the first category. That's right. Because it's foundational. Health is the first wealth.
Because if you don't take care of that, it's hard to execute on the other things.
100%.
How to be emotionally stable.
That's right.
Intellectually curious.
100%.
To have a character that doesn't get batted around by ill health, which can happen.
Tremendous amount of thinking went into how to sequence these categories.
And you're exactly right.
Health and fitness is first for a reason.
And your personal life categories are first for a reason.
Because until you get your own stuff together,
you're not gonna have good relationships.
You're not gonna be able to create that great career.
You're not gonna be able to move into the world
and show up in the way that you need to
to create the success that you want to create.
So those are the first five.
And then we go into the relationships, which are your love relationship, romantic love,
parenting, and your social life.
In those 12 categories, the Lifebook process takes you through four questions in each of
those 12 categories.
And the four questions are, what do I believe about this category?
What are my beliefs that control my behavior in this area of my life?
That's an interesting one.
It's kind of a big one.
Because everything derives from your beliefs, right?
So your choices, your actions, your responses to things all derive from your beliefs, whether
they're good or bad.
If you believe in limitless possibilities or if you believe that your life is really
constricted and limited and confined, well, that's what you'll end up getting.
That's exactly right.
Whether they're conscious or unconscious.
Whether they're true or not true.
That's right.
What precisely do I want in this area of my life is the second question.
With no fuzziness, with complete clarity, what do I want in my health and fitness?
What do I want my love relationship? What exactly do I want in my health and fitness? What do I want my love relationship?
What exactly do I want for my financial life? Third question is, why do I want that? What is
the purpose behind my vision? And then the last one is, what exactly do I need to do to get it?
Yeah. Strategy. So premise, vision, purpose, strategy. What do I believe?
And they all build on each other. Because first, it's like, what do I believe?
Well, whatever you believe is going to be the base of your entire life.
And then what is your vision?
Well, that's based on your beliefs, right?
And then the next thing is, well, why do I want that?
If I believe that and that's my vision, I want that.
Well, why?
Because that is the fuel.
And that purpose is based on your vision.
That literally is your fuel.
Yeah.
When we take the time to create a vision
for the life that we want to have,
we can have wide reaching impacts
on our families and communities.
And it's never too late to point your life
in a new direction.
