Starting point is 00:00:00 Hey everyone, it's Dr. Josh Axe, and today I'm going to be bringing you something really powerful. Recently, I had the honor of speaking at the Health Optimization Summit. This is one of the largest summits in the entire country where I shared my personal story of how to heal from everything from cancer to autoimmune disease and promote longevity. And I talked about the miraculous way God healed my body and can help heal your body. This talk goes beyond other things you've heard me talk about. I go really in depth on the most healing diet ever created, on the top nutrients and herbals and therapies to help reverse disease at a cellular level. If you want to heal your cells and reverse any condition and optimize your health and longevity, I believe this is one of the most important messages I've ever shared. So whether you're struggling with fatigue or chronic illness or just want to live with more energy and purpose, I hope this bonus episode encourages you and equips you with real,
Starting point is 00:00:59 tools to reclaim health. And I want to mention this was an event that people paid a lot of money to go to, but I did want to offer it for free for you right now while this video is still up. Take a listen to this right now. All right. Well, it's great to be here, everybody. Super excited to talk about cellular longevity and healing today. And I feel like it's, you know, I think I tried to fit a two-hour presentation into 40 minutes, but I'm going to do my absolute. us today. All right. So the focus here is healing yourselves. And this picture on the right is me two years ago. Many of you know this. Not everybody knows this, but I went from being a triathletely in really good shape to having a spinal infection and almost dying two years ago. I went to visit
Starting point is 00:01:53 a doctor and I actually let me go back a little bit further. I ended up. I ended up. up having a little bit of back pain. And I went and got stem cell therapy and saw amazing results in it helping heal my back. Well, I thought, I'm going to get it done again. And something went wrong during the procedure. This is a natural therapy in stem cells. And my disc got infected and my bone. And I ended up one day after getting this, this is three months later. I woke up one morning. I just couldn't move. My back was in so much pain. Days went by. I still couldn't move, I had to call an ambulance. They came and picked me up. And I was in Puerto Rico at the time. I had to take a medical flight to Florida. And I met with an infectious disease doctor there and he said,
Starting point is 00:02:38 Josh, listen, here's what we found. There's a major infection that's spread throughout your spine. And he said, your best case scenario is you're going to have chronic pain the rest of your life. He said, worst case, it could kill you, but more than likely you're going to have your spine fuse, rods put in your spine. This was just a little over two. years ago. And I went from doing triathons, squatting, lifting weights, throwing my two-year-old daughter in the 10-foot, you know, in the air in the pool, to being told what I felt like was my life was over. And I had always been the physician for so many people, my mom, my family, tens of thousands of patients, but I really needed a healing miracle. And I spent some time in prayer. And I had about 48
Starting point is 00:03:22 hours where I felt like my life was over. Felt hopeless, felt despair. And finally, I just felt God saying to me, you're going to be okay. And so I decided to stop focusing on where I was at and start focusing on my future and start focusing on how to heal my body and how to heal at the cellular level. Because one thing I believe is that God is bigger than any diagnosis. And so I decided through prayer and through really focusing on cellular medicine I was going to heal. And so I started reading every study possible on how do you heal? And how do you heal and unhealable disease. Because I thought, okay, I'm going to go and do research online and probably be encouraged.
Starting point is 00:04:03 Because this doctor, maybe he's just giving me the worst case ever a scenario. Then I read online and I wasn't any more encouraged. Because I know someone else who had what I had. And they had to have rods put in their spine and have their spine fused. And so I started doing research and I came across articles on hyperbaric chambers and that those can help oxygen get very deep into this. cells and body. I started doing IVs of methylene blue and ozone and very high dose nutrients. I followed a very specific diet of pretty much berries and organ meats and certain vegetables,
Starting point is 00:04:42 very high protein and very high collagen. And so I went through this very specific protocol. And you can actually see my spine here. If you look at the white part that's not the back wipe, but that front white part, that's where the infection was spread into my bone. So I actually had, if you imagine, like yellow pus, like infection in the bone eating away at it. And via following this process of cellular healing, which I'm going to share with you how to heal on healable conditions today, how to reverse hypothyroidis, how to reduce autoimmune disease, how to reverse infertility in so many other conditions. But I went from this to this. Clear MRI. Now, I didn't walk for nearly an entire year. So this time, two years ago, I wasn't walking yet. And I was
Starting point is 00:05:26 able to fully heal and regenerate my tissues, as you can see here. In fact, the doctors that saw this that said we've never seen a spine heal like this before. We've never, we've never seen this sort of cellular healing and regeneration. And so this is what I'm going to go through today is how to do this very same thing in your organ systems and yourselves. And so I went from this, by the way, I lost 40 pounds in that picture on the left to back being fit and healthy. again, there's a picture with my four-year-old daughter, Arwin, there in the pool, and I'm so grateful to God for healing. And, you know, oftentimes we go through these things so we can help others heal, and that's what I'm going to go through today. So one of the big things we're going to see in the
Starting point is 00:06:07 future is the future of medicine is cellular medicine and focusing on healing organ systems. Oftentimes our medical, conventional medicine today creates all of the separation. Well, we're going to treat your thyroid. or we're going to treat your ovaries or we're going to treat your liver. And the reality, these organs don't function individually. They tend to function with other organs. And if you want to get to the, if you want to, well, let me jump into this study and this will explain it. So there's a recent study done at Stanford.
Starting point is 00:06:44 And this was done on over 5,000 participants. And they found that our organs age at different rates. okay so the study found that about 20% of the adults over 50 had at least one organ aging much faster than expected now everybody has one organ aging faster than others but they found this very extreme like like 20 20 years difference between some organs and others and so for instance um they found that somebody that had um an older heart had a 250% greater risk of dying of heart disease, where if somebody had an older brain based on their testing, they had 180% increase risk of dementia. And so what we really want to focus on is finding
Starting point is 00:07:33 what organ in you is aging faster than others and reversed that age, and we can do that. You know, I had something tragic happen about this time last year, and my father-in-law passed away. And he was my best friend. He was living with my wife and I at the time, him and my mother-in-law and just out of the blue died of a heart attack. And we were going to gym together. We were, you know, spending every moment together pretty much. And it was devastating. And one of the things that we discovered with him is that he had had high blood pressure. He thought it was just white coat cinder, but had it for years. He had psoriasis, so he took steroids for 25 years. And there's all these things that started up looking at. His heart was probably 20, 30, 40 years older
Starting point is 00:08:18 than his muscles and his brain and the rest of his body. And if we would have knew ahead of time, we could have helped. And so we're going to start seeing a lot more medical testing. I have a close friend of mine who runs a blood work company called True Diagnostics. And what they're doing now is they're testing the age of your organs or organ system. So you can see, you can test your metabolic age, the age of your immune system, your musculoskeletal system. And it goes beyond this even, but just as an example, you can look at the age of various organs.
Starting point is 00:08:53 And so for this person, you can see, you know, you might look at, they have a pace greater than one, has an associated 56% increased risk of death in an area. So you can look at a very specific organ system and see if it's aging too fast via blood work today. And we've all seen this, right? Even without blood work, we know, we've all seen somebody that was in their 60s and we thought they were in their 40s, right? And we've also seen people in their 40s and we thought they were in their 60s. So how is it possible that their chronological age could be 20 years greater or less than what their chronological age? Well, it has to do with your biological age. And here's a reality. I believe that the Bible
Starting point is 00:09:36 talks about this and it says we have the capacity of living to 120 years with great health. It says that Moses when he died, his eyes were strong, which means he had, you know, full health in his body. But if you think about it like this, the average life expectancy is around 77.8 years. We are doing about 40 years plus of damage to our bodies, taking those years off. And that can be toxicity, nutritional deficiency, stress, lack of sleep. All of these start taking years off our body. But here's the good news. Your body can regenerate.
Starting point is 00:10:18 You know, Gary, Breka, who spoke right before me, was sharing some of this. But your body is about 50% new every year. Every seven years, it's at the very least 70% new. And for some people, could nearly be 100% new. So your body is regenerating healing. But why is it then, if that's true, if you have 300 billion new cells a day, why is it that you still have hypothyroidism or Hashimoto's? Why are you still struggling with infertility?
Starting point is 00:10:49 Why are you still struggling with a fatty liver? The reason is that your body is dealing with toxicities or deficiencies. And if we can correct those specific to that organ, we can reverse disease and heal the body in a profound way. You can see here the regeneration capacity of different organ systems here. The liver regenerates. In fact, if you have a damaged liver, if we would cut part of your liver off today, almost the entire thing would grow back in eight weeks.
Starting point is 00:11:21 It's amazing. You know, looking at this with a lot of different areas, your stomach lining, your intestines, your muscles. We know you break a bone that can heal in about eight weeks. So we know that the body has an incredible capacity to heal, but in order to heal, we need to start reversing the age of the organ and the cells. and we're going to get into how to do that right now. So how do we do it? Well, what I'm bringing together is ancient medicine with the cellular medicine of today.
Starting point is 00:11:53 And in ancient Asia, they had longevity medicine, and they called it the three treasures. And with that, it was really focusing on healing. They would call it, they would call it Shen, Chi, and Jing, which basically means we need to focus on supporting your cellular intelligence, your cellular energy, which is really tied to your
Starting point is 00:12:16 mitochondria, and your cellular structure, which has to do with your cell membrane. And so if we can focus on healing those three parts of the cell in Chinese medicine, you can reverse disease. Now, in mainstream, longevity medicine, I shouldn't say mainstream, in longevity medicine today, they have something called the nine hallmarks of aging. Now, that number has been recently increased at 12 and 15. They just keep adding. I bet you'll be 100 hallmarks. But if we focus on the nine, you can see, well, let me hit on this first. You can see here cellular intelligence.
Starting point is 00:12:51 What's that? Cellular intelligence are the, think about your spiritual health. It's the architect of your cells. It's your cellular nucleus. And this is connected to your cellular communication, the health of your gut microbiome, which is your second brain and even your hormones. And if we can focus on supporting really your brain and your gut, that's a very important part of longevity.
Starting point is 00:13:21 The next part here is cellular energy. This is really tied to your adrenal glands as an organ system and your mitochondria, which is the power plants that give energy to your cells, and then cellular structure. This is the fatty acids, the aminos that make up the same. cell membrane that allow things to get into your cell and things out of your cell. And so we're going to focus on these things. And then the 12 hallmarks are nine hallmarks of aging. We see in functional medicine today, you can see right here. Things like stem cell exhaustion,
Starting point is 00:13:57 chronic inflammation, dysbiosis of the gut microbiome, mitochondrial dysfunction as a few examples. And this is a pathway that I put together as an example of how aging occurs. For most people, it starts with poor diet, lack of exercise, chronic stress, sleep deprivation, toxin exposure, and loneliness. And the biggest thing those things impact, and the other thing I would throw out there is just lack of connection to nature. The first thing that does is, disrupts your circadian rhythms. So if your body, your body likes to be in rhythm. And when your body gets off of rhythm, for instance, if you don't get sunlight during the day, or you're wearing, or you're exposing yourself to a lot of blue light in the evening, that's going to disrupt those,
Starting point is 00:14:54 that circadian rhythm. That's going to start the aging pathway. That will then disrupt your gut microbiome. So it's really affecting your brain, then your gut. Then it affects, your methylation and epigenetic cycles. Gary talked about that quite a bit. He really focused on in that one component there of that methylation cycle, okay, of that pathway of aging. And then that creates oxidative stress and damages the mitochondria. That's going to cause inflammation, affect atophoge, which is your body's ability to detoxify itself. And then that's going to cause something called cellular senescence where your body starts building up something, called zombie cells, which are like, imagine a city full of just waste and trash and broken down
Starting point is 00:15:41 cars. Things are not operating properly. What autophagy is, is this waste management system and recycling that get rid of all of the things you don't need and then use the spare parts to rebuild new and healthy cars, buildings, all the things you need for a thriving city. And then the last one is stem cell exhaustion. If you're bought, what, what, if you have hypothyroid, and you need new thyroid tissue. Stem cells are what your body create via your bone marrow to become that new tissue, that new, healthy, thriving tissue that's younger and has better longevity. And then, of course, if you don't fix these things, this cascade effect that happens,
Starting point is 00:16:22 it leads to chronic illness and premature death in organ age, ultimately. So I'm going to go through some of these slides pretty quickly just to show you, though. Here's an example of this circadian rhythms in cellular communication issue. You know, this is very much tied to melatonin and cortisol. Okay? Your body has a clock. Did you know that certain organs are operating at a higher level at certain parts of the day than others?
Starting point is 00:16:50 So, for instance, your digestive system is the strongest in the morning right when you wake up. It's when you're going to have the highest absorption of nutrients. That's why I recommend most people take supplements first thing in the morning. Okay. Now, some of the ones that are higher in fats might actually be better absorbed in the evening. But most supplements are best in the morning. And there are certain nutrients critical to your circadian rhythms. Magnesium is at the absolute top of that list along with vitamin D. But magnesium is
Starting point is 00:17:18 absolutely key. And then other herbs that help lower cortisol. That is key here for their circadian rhythms to help your body heal. And warning signs that this is your issue as part of your aging pathway. is number one. If you are not sleeping well, this is the thing that's being affected most. Number two, microbiome dysbiosis. If you have a too much bad bacteria, not enough good microbes in your gut. Of course, any sort of gas, bloating, even an autoimmune disease, this is a warning sign that this is off. There are very specific nutrients you need for this, which I'll get into more later, but key disruptors here, antibiotics, contraceptive drugs, poor diet, stress and toxins start to alter and damage this error of the body.
Starting point is 00:18:15 And then we have epigenetic changes. Now, many of you saw Gary's really big chart, right? Let's hone in on one of the key elements of that chart, and that is the methylfolate pathway. So anyone here who struggles with the MTHFR gene variant to where you know you are not methylating properly via this process. Well, I want to mention, by the way, that doesn't mean you can't methylate at all. It means you're just not methylating as well. I think sometimes people think, well, I can't do it. Like, I'm totally broken here.
Starting point is 00:18:53 No. And by the way, that really needs to partly be turned on as well. So if your gut microbiome, remember, especially the two slides before this, if your gut and your cell communication or the circadian rhythms are very operating at very high level, your methylation will work just fine. And it really has to do with two things. Cortisol and insulin. If you can fix cortisol and insulin, you will methylate at a much, much higher level.
Starting point is 00:19:24 But you can see here there are key nutrient. you have to have de-methylate. Folate, vitamin B6, vitamin B2 probably isn't talked about enough. It's probably the most essential outside of B-9 for this cycle. And then we also have B-12. We have coline. There as well that's important for this methylfolate cycle. But there are, I would say, you know, I think a lot of people are recommending a methylated B complex if you're struggling with the methyl folic cycle, and that would be one of the supplements you want to take. But in addition, I would very much recommend glandulars. Glanulars, like liver, thymus gland, and a multi-glanular supplement, they have the most
Starting point is 00:20:10 components, including peptides, that support methylation. And it is the number one thing people are missing their diet. Now, I've talked for years about the number one missing food is bone broth. And that's partly true because one third of your entire body's, protein is made up of collagen. So that is very important, but equally up there with bone broth, organ meats and glanulars are the single greatest food we're missing in our diet. Now, here's the thing. You may not love to taste a liver, but that's okay. You can get in it as a capsule or a tablet. You can get it in those forms. But if you have methylation issues, here's the first
Starting point is 00:20:44 three things you should take. A methylated be complex, a multi-organ glandular supplement, and high-dose probiotics. Now, Gary also mentioned doing, you know, things like sauerkraut. Yeah, I would do that as well. I would do sourcrow. I would do kimchi. I would do kefir, whether it be a coconut or a A2 raw milk-based fermented dairy, but I would go very, very high in your good bacteria and also prebiotic fiber.
Starting point is 00:21:18 Anything you can do to heal the gut microbiome will help. methylation, along with the B complex in glandulars. Next up, oxidative stress. Now, this is where you really start to see somebody aging. And if you ever take a bite of an apple, a little bit later, it'll start to turn brown. That's oxidation. When you start to get skin spots, when your skin starts to get thin, when you start to notice you're looking older, that's oxidative stress accumulating via in your cells, which then starts to show up on your skin. And the greatest way to start to turn this around is via
Starting point is 00:21:55 reducing oxidative stress. Now, Gary focuses in on he likes hydrogen for this. And I think that's one great thing to add in. I think hydrogen can be gray. There's a lot of other things dietarily, though, that also act to reduce oxidative stress. You know, of course we hear of antioxidants. Selenium and zinc and vitamin E are going to be critical. Coenzyme Q10. herbs like turmeric are going to be great for this as well. And then things that help detoxify the body, because a lot of those toxins are what
Starting point is 00:22:25 create the oxidative stress in the first place. And then, of course, getting rid of seed oils and sugar and environmental toxins is going to be key to helping reverse this aging pathway. And then mitochondrial dysfunction, this is huge. You know, our mitochondria are what produce energy for our entire body. You know, I remember going into an acupunctureous years ago, and I was overworking, working 60 hours a week, and I was eating perfectly, but I developed some gut issues. And he said, he goes, Dr. Axe, he goes, your battery should be here, it's here. And, you know, if you've ever driven a golf cart or used any sort of electrical equipment, and the battery gets low and it kind of putting along my daughter, she's got this, you know, this power wheel, it's like a car, you know, they used to be called power wheels when I was.
Starting point is 00:23:16 kid now they're called something else but they you know you drive those and the batteries low and it's like okay now as dad I'm like having to push the thing you know half a mile back to the house so but that's what's happening in a lot of your bodies your body doesn't have cellular energy so if you in one of the biggest symptoms of mitochondrial weakness is hypothyroidism think about this your body temperature starts to drop with hypothyroidism because your cells don't have enough energy to heat your own body up. It's predominantly a mitochondrial issue from a cellular standpoint, and then an adrenal issue, and if it's Hashimoto is combined with a microbiome issue from an organ standpoint. But if you can do things to really charge up those mitochondria, that's how you
Starting point is 00:24:04 reverse hypothyroidism. I've helped thousands of women reverse hypothyroidism in Hashimoto's and get completely off their medication focusing on healing the mitochondria. That's the thing. That's the the key. B vitamins, Rodeol, doing a lot of the adaptogenic herbs. I really like Aschua Gondda, rhodozobs, pinnics, ginseng, and organ meats,
Starting point is 00:24:28 things like that, especially adrenal and thymus, to help heal the mitochondria. And then inflamaging, you know, we want to be able to reduce inflammation or reduce the things causing inflammation. This is a lot of processed food, sugar, stress. This is where turmeric and omega-3 fatty, acids and ginger and Boswellia really help.
Starting point is 00:24:49 Atophagy, I talked about this earlier. This is the cleanup crew, detoxifying your body. This is where fasting or intermittent fasting can be beneficial. Now, I do want to say, I am not a fan of intermittent fasting for everybody, and women tend to not be as ideal candidates as men when it comes to intermittent fasting in most cases because of just the way your cycle works. It's just not ideal for most women. Now, I think you can close your eating window down to maybe 10 hours.
Starting point is 00:25:16 Maybe eat a late breakfast at 9. You need to get at 1, eat an early dinner at 5. And if you want to close that eating window, that's fine. But for most people, if you need to heal, intermittent fasting every day or doing just a 6- or 4-hour window is not optimal. For most people who need to heal. But cutting down your eating window. And the other big thing is exercise.
Starting point is 00:25:38 Walking a lot, doing actual physical exercise, is very good for supporting a table. Pectophagy. Cellular senescence, this is these zombie cells that start to take up your body. This really happens if you have chronic infections. If you have Lyme disease, mold issues, Epsteinvar, CMV, long COVID, those tend to be connected to cellular senescence combined with mitochondrial dysfunction. So we want to be able to clean this up in a pretty significant way.
Starting point is 00:26:10 This is where Corsetan, Bromelin, a lot of the pre-chondriolin. proteolytic enzymes can help with this. Doing a little bit of fasting can help there as well clean up these senescent cells. And the last one here is stem cell exhaustion. This is really how your body regenerates and heals. We want to optimize your cellular healing and regeneration. And this is where bone broth is really powerful. Astragalus NAD plus is probably one of the regenerative nutrients you can take. And zinc. So many people are deficient in zinc. If you have a skin or gut issue, it's almost a guarantee or an immune deficiency. It's almost guaranteed you have a zinc deficiency. So we really want to focus and optimize in healing
Starting point is 00:26:57 your body from the stem cell exhaustion. Now, the way to think about this is we talked about your, I talked about a lot of things, but I want to kind of bring it in. here to help you focus on a fewer things. And we're going to get specifically into protocols for healing your organs. Your body functions like a city, okay, or your cells function like a city. And different cellular components have different responsibilities. So the first one here is your cell membrane. This is the outer part of your cell. Again, this is sort of like your city walls or border control. They're saying, hey, certain things we should let in, certain things we should keep out. Well, for so your cell membrane, though, should be very fluid and soft and supple. Think about like a baby. It's very
Starting point is 00:27:42 bouncy. Think about when you played, if you were a teenager and you were playing sports and your body was able to bounce back so fast. That's what those cells should be like over time via poor diet and aging and a number of things. They get stiff. Those cell membranes get stiff. And they stop letting things in and out properly. That makes you sick. The biggest way to heal that, There was actually a physician, and she created a cancer therapy for this very issue. Her name was Joanna Budwig. She created something called the Budwig Protocol. And she believed what Otto Warburg did.
Starting point is 00:28:15 I saw a very similar quote to what Gary said was, disease is lack of oxygen. That's what Otto Warburg said. And then Joanna Budwig said that. And then lots of people are now using their methods to help heal the system. But the biggest way to start heal the cell to allow oxygen in and out are to optimize your fat intakes combined with fermented peptides. And so she created a meal to do this via it was a fermented dairy beverage called cork,
Starting point is 00:28:50 which is basically like cottage cheese or kefir, okay, adding multiple like three to nine tablespoons of flax meal to it and a tablespoon of flax oil. So you had this fermented dairy very high in. peptides and then very high dose omega-3s with doing that. And I think there's even ways to optimize that. I would probably rather do the table swim in a flax oil. I'd do the tablespoon of cladolver oil with that. But again, there are ways to do this. And this helps repair the cell membrane. The next one here are your cell receptor sites. Now, your cells have receptors for iron and zinc and magnesium and a lot of these minerals. One of the problems for most people today, though, is you've got
Starting point is 00:29:31 heavy metals, in glyphosate, in chemicals, taking up those cell receptor sites, or the cell receptor sites are burnt out not working due to things like insulin sensitivity. That's an example of, like a cell receptor issue is diabetes. That's a, that's the problem. And you can start to fix and heal that with nutrients like zinc and magnesium and movement and reducing toxicity is really big there. And then mitochondria. We talked about this already, right? Optimize. NAD plus, CO-Q-10, B-vitamins, ALA, red light therapy, infrared light for healing the mitochondria. And then the nucleus, that's the brain of your cell. If you've got methylation issues, if you have DNA issues, if you've turned on those
Starting point is 00:30:18 epigenetic switches, like cancer genes that you want turned off, we need to focus on healing the nucleus. Vitamin B12, folate, chlorine. Big thing there is lowering stress. single greatest thing you can do to start to heal the cell membrane, its community, its connection, and then lysosomes. These are responsible for autophagy in this waste management system, recycling. This is where fasting can work, exercise, turmeric, and detoxification herbs like milk thistle. Now, if you're wondering, okay, well, Dr. Actually, I should do nine different things.
Starting point is 00:30:56 This is really complex. No, it really comes down to there are certain. foods that tend to be the top longevity foods. And these are the top longevity foods that have been used for thousands of years in Chinese medicine and Iyerveda and now prove today via cellular medicine studies. Bone broth, organs, olives like extra virgin olive oil, onions and garlic, pomegranates are incredibly unique. Berries, wild fatty fish like salmon, vegetables, mushrooms, avocado, coconuts, red meat, honey, especially honey if you combine it with or it's in higher levels of royal jelly, propolis, and pollen. And then there are other some healing foods as well.
Starting point is 00:31:40 But for the most part, these are the top longevity foods to add into your diet. Now, I do want to mention, and I'm going to get into here in the last few slides, longevity medicine should be personalized. So for some people, pomegranates might be the most healing food on this entire list. However, if you have major oxalate issues, you may not do well with berries and pomegranates, and you need to focus on other foods. But when I get into the last few slides, it'll help you determine what you should do there. Longevity herbals.
Starting point is 00:32:13 Here are the most prized herbals used in all of ancient medicine. Number one is green tea, especially matcha. Japan has the longest lifespan in the world. Why? What is the number one beverage they consume in Japan? It's green tea. Rishi mushroom is known as the mushroom of immortality. Its ability to fight cancer, its ability to help you sleep better, its ability to boost
Starting point is 00:32:40 your mitochondrial health is amazing. Chisandra, another powerful adaptogen, astragalus, especially if you have weak digestion and immune issues. Ashwaganda, amazing for thyroid and adrenal longevity, turmeric for inflammation, ginseng, there, again, adrenals, goji berry, foe tea, holy basil, lions made for brain longevity, and rhodiola, again for mitochondrial. And then longevity supplements. NAD plus, omega-3s, vitamin D, magnesium, tumor or curcumin, super fruits like berry powders and probiotics. Probably the top things overall you could take for longevity. Now, I do want to mention something
Starting point is 00:33:24 that's really unique and important is that you can take a lot of these foods, but the most healing that takes place, remember, is your brain and your gut. If you're going to focus on healing two organ systems, it's cortisol and its insulin. What I mean gut, I mean the whole digestive system, including pancreas and digestive tract. And there is a compound that's been shown in clinical studies to help reverse aging, maybe just as much or more than any other, and it's urolithinae. Now, urinithin A is created from allegic acid. And pomegranates are the highest food in allegic acid.
Starting point is 00:34:06 Now, other foods that are high in them, red raspberries, are the next highest in other superberries. And then actually walnuts and pecans have a little bit as well. The problem is this, though. Only about 30 to 40% of people have the right gut bacteria to convert allergic acid to your Lithon A. So while some of you might eat pomegranates, the problem is you're not converting it into the greatest anti-aging nutrient in the planet. And so as I was reading these clinical studies, I discovered that if you can really increase your probiotic intake, and if you actually keep epaumigranets while doing that, your absorption will increase over time greatly, really,
Starting point is 00:34:48 really significantly. So the idea there is you really want to focus and strengthen your gut microbiome. Now, one of the things somebody asked in the prior lecture about as well was this xenohormesis in terms of helping your body better adapting to your own with stress. I'm going to run out of time before I get into this, so I'm going to kind of move on a little bit, but it's this idea. The most nutrient-dense herbs you can take are the ones that took the most stress and survived.
Starting point is 00:35:17 This is why dry farm wines are much higher in resveratrol. They have no irrigation. Now, they have a less chance of survival those grape vines, but if they're cared for properly and you let the roots get really deep, and then in areas like California and Italy and France, where it gets really hot during the day and really cool at night, there's this, you know, it's being stressed in a way. That creates more nutrients. So the most nutrient-dense plants are the ones that have the most stress without killing it. Guess what?
Starting point is 00:35:47 Your body works in the very same way. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy is stressing your body in a way. It's forcing oxygen deep into your cells. But if you can survive it or you don't overdo it and you do it at the right pace with the right amount, that what it does for healing and regenerating your tissues is unlike anything else. Red light therapy. This is like sunshine. You want to get some, but not too much.
Starting point is 00:36:14 Same red light therapy. It's a stressor on the body that boosts mitochondria. You know, by the way, all of these biohacks are, we're basically taking the next best thing from nature. that we're deficient in. Red light therapy is just taking some of the rays from the sun. You're not getting all of them, you're getting some of them that are healing. You're still should get some because it's way more healing than red light therapy. But red light therapy is the next best thing. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy or exercising without oxygen. That's like going to altitude and exercise and you're missing some of that, are swimming deeply underwater. Hot and cold.
Starting point is 00:36:47 You know, it's, most of the time we're just sitting in 70 degree temperature inside all day. If it's 20 degrees out, you should get outside. If it's 90 degrees out, you should get outside. But not to the point where it breaks you. You know, you want to stress it. It's all building the muscle, you know? Start off with the 15-pounders and then go to the 20 and then the 25. But don't start with the 100-pound and just break yourself.
Starting point is 00:37:14 That's not what you want to do. We see this with peptides as well. Amazing for longevity therapy, stem cell injections, IVs, ozone, plasma exchange, and practices like acupuncture and cryopracketion. These are amazing longevity therapies we have access to that can help turn back the clock exercise. There is a study done, and they found that the most anti-aging exercise is based on a study. Number one was tennis. And then badminton and pickleball, like racket sports were the top longevity exercise.
Starting point is 00:37:46 Listen, this is more than weight training by double. How is that? Well, you're working on hand-eye coordination. You're getting some cardiovascular fitness. You're getting low using your legs. And here's the biggest part. You're doing it in community with others. You're having fun, right?
Starting point is 00:38:02 That 90-year Harvard study showed that the number one thing you can do for longevity is have a strong community. Strong family, strong friends. The opposite of loneliness and isolation is you have very strong, deep friendships and bonds. Number one thing for longevity and cellular healing. Number one.
Starting point is 00:38:23 All right. next here. So I'm going to break down now how to reverse organ age in our six primary organ systems. Well, actually, I'm getting into five. But so number one here, your cardiovascular health. If you want to reverse the age of your heart, you want to mostly consume fatty fish like salmon. Lever. Red meat that's grass fed. Steamed green leafy vegetables. Berries, beets, pomegranates, tomatoes, red berries, specifically walnuts and extra virgin olive oil. These will most help regenerate the heart and the blood vessels. Coenzyme Q10, omega-3 fatty acids, garlic, hawthorn, ginkgo, magnesium, and a heart glandular
Starting point is 00:39:10 supplement. And then a mix of cardiovascular and VO2 max training. Your immune system, this is reducing inflammation, fighting infection, cellular health. It's a lot of foods that are yellow or white. It's chicken bone broth. It's miso. It's yogurt. It's pears.
Starting point is 00:39:30 It's onions. Garlic. Ginger. It's herbs like estrangelis. Eldabary, echinacea, zinc, vitamin C, and D. So this is, and the immune system also in Chinese medicine is very much connected to having structure and good habits. If you feel like your life is kind of everywhere and you've got an autoimmune issue or inflammatory bowel disease or you're fighting an infection, creating a infection, creating structure.
Starting point is 00:39:50 creating structure in your life, something to build and grow on. You really want to make sure you have that. And also, a lot of these things are emotional. Immune system issues are most connected to your father. If you had a bad relationship with your dad or a trauma that's happened with a male figure or a male in your life, and you have autoimmune disease, inflammatory bowel disease, are one of those issues.
Starting point is 00:40:14 You have to go back and repair those relationships. So many of these conditions we have today are not in. nutritional. They're not lack of exercise. They're spiritual, emotional, and mental issues. Metabolic and digestive issues really related to the digestive system, including the liver. Doing more bone broth, meat, fermented foods, apples, sweet potatoes, congee and squash. Doing lots and lots of probiotics. Listen, most people, we're not doing high enough doses of probiotics, by the way. Doing 10 billion or 50 billion or even 100, you can do a trillion probiotics. You know like a serving of kefir? You get like a really strong dose fermented kefir has a
Starting point is 00:40:57 trillion probiotics. You've got probably 40 trillion bacteria in your gut. If you have a real major gut issue, you probably need to go way, way higher than you're going. Just for everyone, everyone just thinking about that here. And let's focus on healing your metabolic health. Burberine also incredible from the Bayberry leaf. Jim Neiman is great. But we really want to balance insulin here for this metabolic health. This is wearing a continuous glucose. glucose monitor is so powerful. And by the way, this is also very connected to the relationship with your mom. Okay? If you had a mom that was controlling, mom that shamed you, made you guilty all the time, you don't have a good relationship with your mom, or you're still living with that
Starting point is 00:41:37 today and you hadn't gone and worked on that, that really affects your digestive system and will cause major issues there. So healing from those things. Your detoxification channels, this is your liver and lymphatic system in gallbladder. Cruciferous vegetables, leafy greens, green apples, livers, beets, apple cider vinegar, milk thistle, dandelion, nalcestine. These sort of things are very helpful. The big thing here with liver is getting way more time in nature. Walking in nature, spending time in nature in Japan, they prescribe forest bathing. Just being in nature more is so healing to the liver and detoxification channels, lowering the stress, limiting alcohol is also very helpful. And last one here, your hormonal channel. If you want to heal your hormones, of course, men and women are very
Starting point is 00:42:23 different in this. For men, we need to focus on building in Chinese medicine what they call kidney yang chi. This is testosterone. Did you know that male testosterone levels have dropped 30% in the last 50 years? So men that are in their 20s today have the average levels of testosterone that men did in the night during World War II when they were in their 70s. That's how much testosterone has dropped in men. It is insane. And women isn't much better when you look at thyroid issues and when you look at the estrogen progesterone imbalance. So here's some things you can do. Number one, a lot of this is psychological. Men need to be men. You need to chop firewood. You need to go camping. You need to have guys nights. You need to, you know, do men's stuff. I don't, you know.
Starting point is 00:43:12 So, but it's a real thing. There was a study done on this, and they wanted to see men shopping firewood, what help build testosterone more? That or going out and playing soccer or basketball or some sort of sport. By far, chopping firewood, it grazed testosterone in men. And so men need to do that more. And so the foods that tend to build the most testosterone would be red meat, bone broth, cruciferous vegetables, because that'll help you detoxify the xenoestrogens.
Starting point is 00:43:42 what you're going to need to do to raise testosterone. Pumpkin seeds, because they're so high in zinc, fatty fish, beans and pomegranates, go high dose in zinc. Also for peptides for men. I really like BPC-157 and TB 500 for that. And then strength training. Do a lot of weight training there as well and a lot of time in nature good sleep.
Starting point is 00:44:01 For women, it's flax seeds, it's nato, it's vegetables, it's fish, it's sweet potatoes, it's yogurt. It's beans, avocado, goji berries. Now, I want to mention for women who are premenopausal, you tend to need a lot more aschwaganda, berberine, and vitex. For women that are postmenopausal, we want to get that estrogen up more. And that's going to be black cohosh, wild yam, chitavri, and red clover. Okay, different herbs based for those two phases of women there.
Starting point is 00:44:38 But here's what I would say is I'm clear. closing out. If you want to heal, listen, all medicine should be personalized today. There is no one like you in this room, no one exactly like you. So a lot of times when you go in your doctors and they're like, everybody should be on paleo or everyone should be on keto, everyone should be vegan. No, you need a diet that's customized exactly for you. Like if I have a patient coming with cancer versus inflammatory bowel disease, the diets are radically different, radically different. And so think about that for yourself as what is the ideal diet for you. Of course, you can find practitioners that can help walk you through that if it's a very, very good top 1%
Starting point is 00:45:15 cellular medicine practitioner. And so remember this, care for these treasures and focus on reversing your organ age to be healthy. And I do want to mention if anybody is interested, if you're saying yourself, hey, I need help figuring out my cellular health. I have a group I recommend. I have a group of doctors I've trained. It's at a group called the health institute. So you can visit thehealthinstitute.com. It's thehealthinstitute.com and find a practitioner that can kind of help you walk you through exactly what's going on with you to help you reverse that cellular age and that organ age to help your body heal.
