Starting point is 00:00:00 All right, here we go. Week two, the action is the juice. It's machine. It's John Daigle from Establish the Run grinding through it. He's got a bit of a Muppet voice, but actually you don't sound bad, man. You overly warned me, uh, which is very Daegle thing to do, to be self-conscious of your own voice, but, uh, he's, he's going through it a bit. You got the, you got the strep going on. got strep i got my dirk flu game going on over here we're going to get to the pickups talk about football it's going to be okay he's he's doing this for y'all guys okay he's fighting through it for y'all so you can win your home leagues make a little bit of dough it's a very sweet man i know that about john and he's very thoughtful so uh let's get rolling with week two we're gonna we're
Starting point is 00:00:51 going to get you a lot of good information, a lot of a lot of good plays, a lot of action items, as they're called as we enter week three, the NFL season looking back at week two and what do we do with that information? It is the Brandon Cook's recession indicator section of the season. So if you're wondering how bad things have gotten Brandon Cooks is back in the league for the 49ers, just letting everybody know. I was like, I was in a text thread which Brandon Cooks came up earlier and I was like, what are you guys talking about? Why? But I guess he's a 49er. But let's start what we always do for our redraft friends
Starting point is 00:01:27 and maybe probably for our dynasty friends as well. Not so much our best ball friends because they don't care. They kind of said it, forget it. But who lost the most value in week two in your mind, John? And I'll say the way I think about this is after two bad weeks, if it's a dude I was already doubting, they're probably at zero. So tell me the guys that you have, you just can't, you can't trade for anything right now. You have no confidence starting unless your team is just in like hell of pain.
Starting point is 00:02:01 Who are those dudes for you? Let's start with some obvious drops, players I don't mind getting rid of in case my waiver wire is exciting and has a handful of players that we'll talk about later on in this show. but I think the most obvious ones to start are Kenneth Gainwell. Not only are there better contensity options, direct backups to have right now. It's the fact that Kenneth Gainwell, when we draft to them this summer, we assume there could have been, his range of outcomes included a standalone role. But that's no longer the case. Bucky Irvin has gotten healthier and really just taking the role that we perceived Gainwell is going to have
Starting point is 00:02:44 with for Bucky a route on 56% of dropback. So he is the past catching back. If he is the goal line back when Sean Tucker is healthy, we're still not sure. But as of right now, Bucky Irving has been a tremendous value in his range. So Kenneth Gainwell is a player. I don't mind dropping.
Starting point is 00:03:01 And then another one that rivals someone, I know you have on your list. And we'll talk about your list in a second. But I think adjacent to Marvin Harrison Jr., for example, who we'll talk about in a minute, is Cortland Sutton. as well. It always seemed like for fantasy football, drafting and starting Cortland Sutton was an empty proposition just because we understood in trading for Jalen Waddle and being out targeted
Starting point is 00:03:28 last year by Pat Bryant over the last month and a half of the season whenever Bryant started over Troy Franklin. It really just seemed like Sutton was losing at every single level and had no ceiling or worst of all, no floor to start him. And so far through two games, even if you look at expected fantasy points, which is a stat we use in fantasy football, just stating that with this type of volume and opportunity and usage, this player is typically scoring or expected to score this many fantasy points. Corlin Sutton's the wide receiver 61 and expected fantasy points.
Starting point is 00:04:04 So basically you have to be in a what, a 16 person league that starts three wide receivers mandatory in order to get there and play him. So he's just a player that I can't envision ever starting. Thus, I do not mind dropping Sutton immediately. Yeah, I mean, he's always, the only hesitation I have with Sutton is I've seen this before from him. And then he'll have that like four to six weeks stretch where it's like, hey, Cortland Sutton, double figures last three weeks, guys. Like this is, I've lived the Cortland Sutton life.
Starting point is 00:04:37 But this one's different because I think that, you know, they traded for a wide receiver that is, you know, a lottery. pick and then threw a through some first rounder to get them as well so i don't i don't think the answer ever is if if their offense is in a situation where courtland sutton is the answer then i'm going to assume jalen wattle is long gone pat bryant is long gone and even evan ingram is long gone um and this this will feed into something later that i'm kind of getting back to which i would have i wish i would just remember the things i thought midseason last year like about sean peyton's offense, but we'll get to some of that stuff later whenever it comes to the running back situation. Oh, yeah. But Marv, Marva, Maserati. And that's why when you make, when you make
Starting point is 00:05:26 a joke about it, saying if Cortland Sutton's the answer, then, you know, we're assuming Pat Bryant, Jalen Walto, all these guys, something happened. But another way to phrase it is, if Gordon something of the answer, we probably shouldn't be asking the question either. that's fair that's very fair uh marvin harrison jr i'm sure you've seen the clips those don't matter to me as much as just like he's not putting up numbers um it's fun to do that stuff on social media and you know show a couple plays where guys not supposed to get the ball all the dudes have them that's the fun thing you can do them uh all the wide receivers do that nowadays except for like st brown is a psycho and probably goes 110% every route but uh marv is just i can't believe
Starting point is 00:06:11 leave the runout that Marvin Harrison Jr.'s had and it looks insane. And his career is just really sad to me, but I don't want anything to do with it. You can't trade it for anything. D.K. is, man, I don't know how many more weeks we have of D.K. having any value
Starting point is 00:06:29 because I said he was a buy last week and he might even be more of a buy now considering how cheap you could probably get him, you know, throwing like a late second at somebody in a dynasty or, you know, a spec running back might be able to get DK off somebody. And then a guy who I used to like, because he was a touchdown machine. And there were, you know, years where Sam Darnold and, you know, fill in Vikings quarterback could sustain that offense and sustained two wide receivers
Starting point is 00:07:01 and even two wide receivers and T.J. Hawkinson at times. It was Jordan Addison. And that's, that bumming me out. He's just non-factor across the board. And I don't, you know, Kyler's going to come back and everyone's like, oh, Kyler's better than Carson Wentz, but Kyler is not good either. And so I don't think it gets better when when Kyler gets back in there playing for Carson Wentz. So, yeah, those are the guys that I'm like, I already had my questions.
Starting point is 00:07:29 And then you've shown me two times in a row that you don't have it or your offense won't allow you to have it. like I was on a walk earlier after dinner and I was like they should trade Marvin Harrison Jr. for Brian Thomas Jr. and just see what happens. Just see if those guys needed. Yeah, just yeah, just an old fashioned challenge trade and just see if those dudes can like restart their careers. To add context to dropping Marvin Harrison Jr. because I agree with you last year, even zoom out and think about it. He only had to, he only had Trey McBride really lapping them
Starting point is 00:08:11 in targets and earning targets on that team. This year, if you look at their target shares for the Cardinals, there are two games, I'm just going to round up to save everyone time from reading decimal points off. But Trey McBride leads the team with a 37% target share, Michael Wilson, 23%, Kendrick Bourne,
Starting point is 00:08:27 17%. Jeremiah Love, 11%. Backup, running back Tyler, Algier, 7%. Marvin Harrison Jr., then checks in at 6%. percent through two games not even earning targets around that group either so an easy player to part with yeah that's nasty work man when two running backs are getting more more looks than you on a regular basis um i also want to shout out a couple of players that i don't think we're going to see again or if we do it's not going to be till later people might be latching on to jaden reed for example even though he
Starting point is 00:08:58 got stretched to the hospital and sunday's game uh anytime the coach says we're still a whether he can return this season, that means we're probably not going to see that player again this year. So no need to hold on to Jane Reed. Same thing for Zon Stripling, who unfortunately, they said is going to miss 10 games, thus for our purpose for fantasy season. It's not only a 10-week gap until we can use him again. You also wouldn't use him in his first game back from injury because we don't know the workbook. So you can get rid of stripling as well. and then Alec Pierce re-aggravated the same surgically repaired heel that kept him out all of training camp.
Starting point is 00:09:40 It sounds like at minimum half the year. Thus, if we already couldn't start Alec Pierce when he returned with an offseason to heal, we know we probably can't start him for at least a month when he even returned. So just a player, we're probably not going to see in lineups again. Yeah, and I mean, Pierce probably more so than Reed, but I don't, I don't know. they might have had big ideas for Jaden Reed. They're just a little bit deeper at wide receiver, whereas Pierce, a lot of their offense and how it functions is built around him being
Starting point is 00:10:10 able to stretch the field. So those are the situations that I look at for these offenses and go, okay, well, what's the plan now, guys? If you can't keep eight guys or nine games out of the box against Jonathan Taylor, like, does that have an adverse effect on his rushing effectiveness? I think the Packers will be fine. you know, they still got golden and Watson and Tucker Kraft is ramping up his route. So I'm like, okay, that's fine.
Starting point is 00:10:36 But you look at those whenever they're a wide receiver one, which appears sadly enough is a wide receiver one. When one exits, we talked about this last week with AJ Brown, like, what's the side effect? What happens then? And for the Colts, I don't know if I have an answer besides, we'll talk about Josh Downs later. That might be the answer is Josh Downs.
Starting point is 00:10:56 But unfortunately, the story of the season thus far, I mean, is Josh Allen and it's injuries. And maybe JSN, maybe Jackson Smith and Jigbo. But here, I'll rifle through this, this injury. You do a very, a very fan service friendly thing of posting what I would call like an injury matrix of this guy's out. This means here. And I also treat social media, my ex account, like my journal. thus it's all my notes that I can keep in one tidy spot just publicly for everyone to see and so when I write down a player's injured, their fallout so I can write about it in the waiver
Starting point is 00:11:35 wire column and establish a run. That's why I do that major tweet that everyone can go to my account and look at it simply because I need to fact check it myself too, especially when we get to this time of the year where we are already going through it for reference to that remark. the last time through two games, 38 quarterbacks have played was 2021. So it's not only the first time we've done that since this since 2021, since now 38 have played through two weeks. It's the second most in the 21st century.
Starting point is 00:12:09 But again, we're already going through an under center. And that's what happens is that quarterback offensive lines get injured. And then quarterbacks get injured. And then play just naturally gets worse around the league because we can't field 16 good quarterbacks, let alone like backups now starting for these players. So it seems like we're already in that territory approaching week three. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:12:31 And there's things about football games that people don't really take into account, unless they start getting into like the sicko streets, which is like there's a level to complementary football within a team, which is like, how does your defense leave your offense? Are you getting short fields? There's the other side of it whenever you're evaluating games is like, is this team going to get pushed by the other team? are you going to be chasing points?
Starting point is 00:12:53 Is this going to turn into a pass funnel on the defense? And whenever you start throwing in, your Cooper Rush, your James Winston, your Tyson, Bajent, whenever enough of these games, a third of the games maybe in the league, are being played by quarterbacks that you don't think can just effectively convert first downs. That has a major effect on fantasy, man. And there's no way to solve it, like, except for just avoid that stuff if you can. But a lot of times you don't have the option to avoid it. Like you can't sit your, you know, who's going to, maybe you can sit neighbors if you're lucky enough.
Starting point is 00:13:34 Maybe you can sit your bears if you're lucky enough. But a lot of times you aren't. And it just creates like a shittier product for us. And I hate when there's, you know, QB. Armageddon. But let me run through your injury matrix that you posted earlier, at least the new ones. that are new for this week. And give me any thoughts or spin-off if you agree or whatever as you move along, if you have thoughts.
Starting point is 00:13:56 Yeah, yeah, and just jump in because I don't, you know, I want you to save your voice. You don't have to read all these names. I'll do it for you. But just, yeah, just raise your hand or chime in whenever you want to. So Dobbins, obviously, I think had a hamstring issue or cramps. They ended up being cramps. RJ Harvey has another leg issue.
Starting point is 00:14:18 So Jonah Coleman, which we'll tell you. talk about a bunch about Jonah Coleman here in a minute so we can probably save that one. Zay Flowers and Jacoby Lane for the Ravens as they head down to Rio to play the Cowboys. The answer there would be Rashad Bateman. Had a touchdown last week. It seemed to be a pretty straightforward. It's always been that way whenever Zay misses. Sequin got a stinger, I think first play of the game last week.
Starting point is 00:14:44 And so Tink Biggsby had a nice day. And Will Shipley ran a lot of routes. So, shockingly, I kind of wouldn't say expected it, but we thought based on last year, whenever Saquoan Barclay was off the field, it was strictly going to be Tank Bigsby as an elite backup. But now, even in the first week one as well, Will Shipley is absolutely involved and more of the pass catcher, around 57% of dropbacks without Saquan Barclay on Sunday. So, yeah, it's actually a committee. The thing is we're talking about the Bears on Monday night football.
Starting point is 00:15:18 if Sequin Barclay's out. Thus, in that, the softest match at possible, you can start both players, Will Shipley and Tank Busby if Barkley's out. Yeah, if you're in desperation mode, I think Will Shipley could be a sneaky one that can probably get you double-digit points if he gets the same kind of role against the Bears' defense.
Starting point is 00:15:39 Aaron Jones went for over 100 yards. Chuba Hubber was the RB10 on the week and week one. It's just a great matchup. Yeah. Judarian Price had what turned out to be, what like a chest injury. And Emmanuel Wilson, my old friend from the Packers, who I didn't think I'd see a 20-carry, 21-carry-a-Manuel Wilson game this season.
Starting point is 00:16:01 But week two and we're here, guys, we've arrived. You got to be a real stick-o. Logically good game script too. We're talking about Marcus Marriota against Seattle's defense, which I believe hasn't allowed a single 20-yard completion on the year so far. it seems like the commanders are walking into a death trap where Seattle, if Jordan Price is out, can get away with giving Emmanuel Wilson 25 touches
Starting point is 00:16:27 and just getting the hell out of there with the win. We saw that with the Packers last year when he had 30 touches for 120 yards from scrimmage and a couple scores. This is why they signed him. He's a giant big-bodied guy, not the most explosive, but he can take on 20-plus touches when need be.
Starting point is 00:16:43 Whereas George Halani, their backup, is strictly a career special teamer and can mix in for a couple catches. Yeah, yeah. And I think, you know, they had DJ Dallas there for a long time and they brought in Emmanuel Wilson to be the answer there. And he is just a tank of a man. Like he 30 carries and he'll just, you know, he'll be fine afterwards and did that with the Packers last year.
Starting point is 00:17:06 And I was stunned to see that style like so I wasn't watching that game live. And in relation to that game, you know, we can get to a little bit later on players I'm looking to buy or I'm buy curious on. That game, and even last week's game, feels like a real launching pad for Rashad White in the commander's backfield in his role. Because I don't know if bill time is over. It kind of feels like bill time is over the way they were utilizing Rashad White. We can get to his usage a little bit later.
Starting point is 00:17:41 To the Eagles we go, Dallas Goddard is going to be out for a while. It looks like Mackay Limon is your answer in Don Tavian Wix. Who's the third guy that kind of touched as Darius? It wasn't Darius Butler, was it? Darius Cooper, who is their fourth wide receiver. So my answer, if you're looking at your waiver wire, similar to picking up Jalen Coker and Matthew Golden, wherever they are available last week.
Starting point is 00:18:05 Mackay Lemon is probably not out there. But if he was dropped by someone after week one or two, then yes, you should pick up Mackay Lemon because the Eagles don't have. a competent tight-in who can be Dallas Goddard. They only have Johnny Mutton, E.J. Jenkins. Thus, it's going to be the wide receivers instead who get to hammer Chicago. Omar Cooper looks like he's going to miss some time. And A.D. Mitchell is your solve there.
Starting point is 00:18:33 DJ Moore. Go ahead. And multi-week injuries as well. Omar Cooper and I are, Aaron Smith, week to week. The Jets, after those two injuries, only have three active receivers on their roster. So I am expecting we only see a heaping of Garrett Wilson, A.D. Mitchell, A.D. Mitchell, who's the talk here, just because he's coming away with a 31% target share this past game. Now get the Lions this upcoming week, which, as we saw, it's not apples to apples.
Starting point is 00:19:02 It's not putting Gino Smith in place of Josh Allen on Thursday night and saying he's going to have that kind of performance, but the Lions are going through it. Like Josh Allen won that game, as much as the Lions defense lost the first two games, really including week one against the Saints really snuck away all because the Saints missed from a two point conversion. So the lines are a team. We're just going to target every single week.
Starting point is 00:19:23 And for the time being, A.D. Mitchell is going to be out there for nearly every play. Yeah. And maybe a nice little opportunity for Kenyon, Sadiq, to get out there. With Mason Taylor injured. Yeah, both. Yeah, exactly. So, yeah, we can next that one off. Mason Taylor's injured Kenyon Sadiq, who got some fun usage in week one out of the
Starting point is 00:19:43 backfield and a 05, I guess is what you would call it. Package got rolled out there with five tight ends as well. So they've shown some fun things with Sadiq already. DJ Moore getting injured last week. Khalil Shakir had an OK game. And then Kenyon Coleman popped up and reminded you that he can still do things. So those are your two answers off BJ Moore if he missed his time. Michael Pittman already questionable.
Starting point is 00:20:13 I think for next week, missed last week. Jeremy Bernard, the rookie at Alabama, looks like a solve there. If the Steelers can even get the ball past midfield, which is, I did not anticipate this with a Mike McCarthy, Aaron Rogers combo. But here we are. Nico Collins, his annual two to four week injury timeline hit early this year. And Dalton Schultz, man, 12 catches last week, right? Absolutely insane. just because not just Nico Collins.
Starting point is 00:20:45 Remember, Jaden Higgins' season any injury from the preseason. Kishon Booty, who they acquired from New England, still learning the playbook. He did have a massive bump and route share, but at least for this past week, it's familiarity, chemistry between Dalton Schultz and C.J. Stroud. Not to mention that the Bengals are quietly right now, one of, if not the best defense in the league outside of Seattle, which logically doesn't make sense, I understand, to everyone. just tuning in to the regular football season under the Bengals historically have never cared.
Starting point is 00:21:18 But all the money they put into premium players in free agency, including trading the number 10 overall pick for Dexter Lawrence. So far, it's all panned out, which is why the Texans couldn't even run the ball last week. Zero success. Because right now, Dexter Lawrence is owning the trenches. So it just seems like the Bengals could still be weak at linebacker. Thus, we target them with their tight ends just like last. year. Shultz was the one without Nico Collins this week, who ate. Still a tremendous pickup,
Starting point is 00:21:47 though, in case Nico's out again. Yeah, and a lot of Schultz's production came, I think, in the fourth quarter, but, you know, that's fine. I'll take a garbage time tied-in. And Schultz's, Schultz has been a cheat play for a long time. Speaking of tight-ins, the chargers are down to their third string tight end after Charlie Kolar and David Injoku both hit IR after that game. So, Arande Gadsden, who was dead to rights, come on down, bud. Maybe this can jumpstart their offense because it has been absolute dog-ass through two weeks. They need something. And forcing Aranda Gadsden on the field might not be the worst thing, honestly, for their passing game.
Starting point is 00:22:32 Let's see, Puka, obviously drove everyone crazy with the, is he playing? Isn't he playing? And then trending in the wrong direction towards Monday. just kind of had to sit him Sunday if you're at noon, which was a decision we had to make a couple times. And I was like, I swear to God, if he plays Monday and goes off and does normal puka shit him be so upset. But he didn't. And Terrence Ferguson looked awesome. He's as good as a, I knew he's a phenomenal athlete, but I just didn't know if they could figure out the ways to use him properly, because a lot of tight-ins come in and are great athletes. And then their coaches
Starting point is 00:23:06 don't figure it out. But they've figured out a great plan for Terrence Ferguson. And he looked Pretty electric, man. Was very encouraged by his game on Monday night. We talked about Mason Taylor and Sadiq. The 49ers got a whole list here. Yeah. Evans, Robinson, Stribling. I'm guessing this is Isaiah Hodge.
Starting point is 00:23:29 I don't even know what Hodge this is. Cadaral Hodge is the next guy on their roster who was forced to play behind DeVos Samuel because they legitimately don't have another receiver outside of Jacob Cohen, who they've never used at all. Arizona kid. If you are that desperate, like, plugging in, I plugged into Marcus Robinson in a couple of 14 team leagues last week.
Starting point is 00:23:50 And it was, I feel as it feels going to be fine. Maybe it would not have, but ultimately suffered a high ankle sprain, now out for the foreseeable future because the 49ers cannot keep anyone healthy. Even if Mike Evans played, Kyle Shanahan came out and said they have to monitor him and limit him this week in order to keep him safe.
Starting point is 00:24:09 So it seems like a week where you can't even start Mike Evans, even if he were to play, because sounds like he's going to be truly limited through his, I believe it's a hip injury, groin injury or something like that. Yeah, I think it was hip. I just practicing what I preach and letting people know actual moves I'm making. I sold Mike Evans last week right before that game. So I was pretty happy. I was like, Mike Evans had one good game, time to get off of it.
Starting point is 00:24:38 But they did sign him rain and great. Cook, so watch out, everyone. Alec Pierce obviously reaggravates the heel, Keenan Allen, who I didn't realize they were going to get a three-game suspension on Keenan Allen, which hasn't taken effect yet, but for that DUI, apparently
Starting point is 00:24:53 there's going to be a three-game suspension on Keenan Allen. Right now, they only have LeQuan Treadwell who stepped on the field whenever Alec Pierce left was carded off on Monday night or Sunday night, and then signed Darius Slayton on two
Starting point is 00:25:09 day who as far as I know doesn't know Shane Steichen's playbook so it could be some ramp up time there as well. Oh, for sure. Yeah, and I'd love to see how they use Josh Downs after that or just across the board in that game. Caleb Douglas, something minor, but I might miss one game. Chris Bell might be your answer there. Jake Ferguson, I didn't even notice he got, he was dealing with an injury, but Ryan
Starting point is 00:25:34 Fleur-Noy would be the next target getter for the Cowboys there. And then you got the quarterbacks, which, yeah, yeah, obviously Tyson, Bayesian in line to start. But I read he was dealing with concussion issue. Yeah, it's no longer Bayesian, actually. He got put him to concussion protocol. So if Caleb Williams can't go Monday night, it's now going to be Case Keenum. Perfect. Love it.
Starting point is 00:25:58 We are already, it's week three, and we're at Case Keenum territory. It is interesting because Ben Johnson has never coached a backup in his entire career since Jared Gough never missed a game. So it's already a super tough matchup against a stout eagles defense. Now it's Case Keenum with Ben Johnson calling the play should be interesting. But, you know, this is deep super flex leagues where even Shreder Sanders is rostered because no one leaves one that's breathing on the waiver wire. Yeah. So of the, I think, so I'm going to take Locke out of this question because,
Starting point is 00:26:34 number one, I don't know how much longer he starts. Yeah. darn old if he got his butt fixed or whatever he was dealing with and and it's been two weeks have already proven that drew lock can sustain at least the key pieces in the seahawks offense which is just j is it but of mariotta winston um i guess case keenum in chicago which one do you have the most confidence in being able to just keep your guys um um a float for whatever period they have to play. And that means just keeping the wide receivers,
Starting point is 00:27:15 keeping, you know, if they have a star tight in, keeping them just alive and not flatlining. For fantasy, James Winston is the one who keeps at least one in Malik neighbors, maybe Isaiah likely as well, elevated throughout the year. I am concerned as early as Sunday against the Titans and Robert Sala, just because we know James Winston is a, it is not a quarterback who is good at diagnosing pre-snap coverage. He needs to read it on the fly and let the ball fly then against man coverage.
Starting point is 00:27:51 That's when he's best. That's why he's had success in the past, even against stout defenses like the Broncos, because they play a ton of man coverage given their elite talent on the roster, whereas bad defenses typically try to cover themselves, mask that weakness with zone coverage. coverage and make you throw into windows. Unfortunately, Robert Sala plays a lot of zone coverage.
Starting point is 00:28:11 This total has already decreased two to and a half points since it opened without Jackson Dart. So I think it's going to be a low-scoring ugly game against the Titans this week, not one that James Winston necessarily steps in and creates points all over the place. But in terms of armed talent, he does give them the best. Unfortunately, for the commanders, like I said, they are hosting Seattle. it's going to be cross-country for an early game that Seattle has to fly to, but that's still the Mike McDonald defense against the back or quarterback.
Starting point is 00:28:43 So I'm very much worried until we can at least get out of that game, since Adam Shepter's most recent report on Jaden Daniels is same timeline as last year, missed four to five weeks. Thus, right now the early timeline is Jane Daniels returning after the commander's week seven by in week eight. Mm-hmm. I after this week, and I don't know, the commander's full runout schedule of the Marriota, you know, expected games. But then after this week, after they, you know, get curbstombed by the Seahawks, I think I would have some interest in not necessarily Mariotta, but in him being able to keep, I'd say Diggs and Antonio, Antonio Williams, right? That says, yeah.
Starting point is 00:29:31 Yes. most generic name ever, but Antonio Williams, the rookie. Because Marriota is like the classic point and click quarterback. Like if they design a five-yard curl for digs, like he would love to throw that 25 times. And so he did it last year. You know, he kept a lot of those guys afloat whenever he was starting for the commanders in the same exact scenario. So like I wouldn't freak out too much about digs. I wouldn't freak out too much about Antonio Williams.
Starting point is 00:30:01 is now F1, Terry. Yeah, I think we're good here. McCorn left a lot on the field Sunday. So I'm not worried just yet, but 31. I understand like he needs to produce very quickly in order for him to pay off the value. We drafted him at in the summer. But he'd left three touchdowns on the board,
Starting point is 00:30:24 one penalty, one drop, one major underthrow in the end zone when he was wide open. So one of those, you know, one of three, and we're talking about this differently. Yeah, the push-off one, that was kind of horseshit. The rest of them, like, okay, that's kind of like user error type things. But, okay, so yeah, Winston's the one you have the most, watching him was funny as shit, watching that game,
Starting point is 00:30:47 because it seems like the play doesn't start until he tries to reset the pocket at least once. And it's, it's a joy. Everyone's league differs as well, but if you have Jane Daniels, you don't want to drop him since right now the only intel we have is that we're assuming he's back week eight. So you want to keep him. Thus, you're only padding your roster and lineup for the next month. So if that's the case, I will say when we look at, I looked out at projected defense past defenses that these quarterbacks are facing. And on the
Starting point is 00:31:19 waiver wire, Kyler Murray, who was probably dropped, the Vikings actually have the easiest passing schedule over the next month. So you can pick him up rather and get in a piece of the Kevin O'Connell offense, rather than going to Marcus Marriota. Same thing for Michael Pennix, since the Falcons have the sixth easiest schedule moving forward. Michael Pennix, we saw last year when he was healthy. He elevated Drake London, Kyle Pitts. I know those players don't sound exciting right now because they've been playing with Cooper Rush and Jack Strand, but I think we're about to see something entirely different on
Starting point is 00:31:50 Thursday night. Yeah, I think this changes everything for the Falcons. Like, I don't want to be too dramatic about it. But even, I mean, I would have been fine with Tua playing, just someone that can just operate the offense. And if they do get down in a game, take advantage of a defense playing pre-vent in a second half and get Drake London the ball 10 yards down the field and get Kyle hits the ball running up the seam. And whether or not Tua can do that, you know, that's debatable. But I know Michael Pinnock's can do it because I've seen him do it. And his problem is absolutely turnovers and consistency and stuff like that.
Starting point is 00:32:30 But I've seen Pinnock's play like, yeah, I get why you drafted him in the first round, guys. And that's within the last, you know, 18 months I've seen him do that. And he loves Drake London. He absolutely loves Drake London. So I think this does change everything for the Falcons offense. I don't think it's going to be a Bijan 56% target share, whatever it was week one. That's not going to happen. And I think they're going to be able to convert first downs.
Starting point is 00:32:56 I think they're going to be able to actually run a real big boy offense. And, you know, we've been worried about Drake London, been worried about Kyle Pitts. Maybe you sold those guys. Maybe you moved those guys to your bench with Cooper Rush there. But I hope as everything is like fading in points are going to, and, you know, EPA is getting crushed and things like that just across the board like that. And also I forgot the good news of Brock Bowers is expected to play this. week. So those two things are very positive. Before we jump on a waiver wire targets, I will tell you, I am in a league that you're only allowed to have three quarterbacks. It is a super flex league.
Starting point is 00:33:38 And I have Caleb Williams and Jane Daniels. And so if one of those dudes doesn't get moved to IR, like I'm being forced to drop one to pick up a quarterback that can play. You don't have a player on your bench. You can start? I have Daniel Jones as my third quarterback because I was pretty happy with Caleb and Jaden. When I got out of the draft, got out of the draft. And I can only have three. And people started drafting quarterbacks pretty, the third quarterback pretty quickly. So I'm at to start Daniel Jones.
Starting point is 00:34:08 And then if one of these dudes doesn't get thrown to IR, which I can throw in my IR spot before waivers run, then I literally will have to drop one. Unfortunately, Jane Daniels is your best bet. It sounds like Caleb Williams is truly going to take his hamstring injury down. to the last second Monday night. Yeah, Jaden is my only hope to get thrown on IR with his funky ass elbow that he cannot get fixed. Can't believe they kept replaying it either, by the way. I didn't see it for that kind of injury.
Starting point is 00:34:37 I didn't see what happened the first, like, two times. I was like looking at his leg. I was watching the knee. Yeah, I was like, what did he hurt on his leg? And then I was like, oh, God. Oh, yeah. Oh, the bones are not supposed to do that up top. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:34:52 Yeah, it looks like someone messed up like a chicken wing. Okay, so hit me with your top waiver wire targets this week. I've got your list here, so I'll follow along. Last week we talked about Devon Vele, who you can keep starting every single week. Antonio Williams actually, it was a blowout against the Cowboys, but Antonio Williams actually did get more routes and basically mirroring Stefan Diggs and DiMie Brown. once again produced as well.
Starting point is 00:35:23 So not a player you can necessarily start and the outlook gets a little bit thinner without Jane Daniels over the next month, but still like holding Antonio Williams where you can. But the top pickups this week are pretty clear cut in that Jonah Coleman is the top one after Jackie Dobbins, as you mentioned earlier, hamstring injury, then it came out for cramps on Monday,
Starting point is 00:35:45 but they're still unsure if he's going to play. RJ Harvey suffered an injury in practice, but it sounds like he's going to be active week three. So you could end up starting Jonah Coleman or flexing him. And he delivers nothing because like we saw with Jalen and Waddle in week one, the antics are consistent in Denver under Sean Payton. Does not care about your fantasy team.
Starting point is 00:36:05 Honestly, he doesn't care about giving the best players the most touches, really just calls his offense. And it is spread out and sporadic weekly. But Jonah Coleman was the one for reference whenever J.K. Dobbins left that game who out touched Tyler Badee, 9 to 1 had the fourth highest rate of explosive carries, 10-yard runs in the entire league among all running backs. And then mid-fourth quarter did score the go-ahead touchdown run that perhaps gives him favor moving forward as well under Sean Payton.
Starting point is 00:36:35 So I think he's a tremendous pickup. I think a player you pick up. But I also understand his range of outcomes in that maybe it's like week one where he gets zero touches again in week three. So it is scary. And I think that's probably why you're a little lower on it than I am. Yeah, I'm fine. picking him up. I'm just, yeah, it seems like Sean Payton is on a never-ending like side quest. Yeah. And the side quest is like, how do I not let anybody eat? And it would be the most
Starting point is 00:37:03 Sean Peyton-ass thing on earth for them to, you know, give Tyler Badegh 15 touches and sign somebody like Thursday and Melvin Gordon gets nine carries or something like that. Like, that would just, that would make Sean Payton so happy to win a game doing that. because he's just, just got a fucked up mind. He's to get an insane person. Yeah. Whereas,
Starting point is 00:37:28 and I don't know, I have, I have a decent amount of Jonah Coleman, not as much as I would have liked. I was trying to own the Broncos backfield. That was a fun little trick. I was trying to pull the last week of drafts. And then I'd be damn,
Starting point is 00:37:41 Jonah Coleman was jumping up to like the beginning of the 10th round in high dollar leagues. So I was like, ooh, didn't see that coming. But yeah, for those people, that did that, like you might get this nice start. I hope it isn't a flop start. I really hope it
Starting point is 00:37:57 isn't. I hope he comes in and does what I think Jonah Coleman can do. It's just Denver's, I would sell on anybody that is desperate at running back right now and is like, it thinks Jonah Coleman's a thing, which might be, I mean, that'll be the right league. Because I haven't been a league and everyone's going to know he's starting this week, but they're not going to like have have had a previous opinion on Jonah Coleman coming to the draft necessarily. But yeah, he's the clear cut. I wish I felt better about a guy that just had the decks cleared in front of him. I really wish I did.
Starting point is 00:38:35 Completely understand. I think that's why if you're talking about a pure flex, who is safer, Denzel Boston is my next pickup. We talked to him about him a little bit last week in that he scored the long touchdown from Bishon Watson. and it's a wide open target tree with a rookie with high draft capital. So we're just closing our eyes and saying perhaps he is actually pegging out, you know, targets in this in this tree.
Starting point is 00:39:02 And that's kind of what happened again in week two. Now through two games, Denzel Boston has as many targets as first rounder Casey Concepcion, except with his 21% target share, Boston's, he's averaging his target, 16 and a half yards downfield. If you don't get a heaping of volume, then that's a coin toss, right? And you can't start that player in fantasy because he's getting balls launched downfield. Coin toss catches only once or twice a game. But now we're talking about it five to eight times for game for Denzel Boston who can just lead this team in receiving the west of the way. Not to mention he has an end zone target in both games as well as someone they, that's where they want to get him the ball,
Starting point is 00:39:42 scoring points. So I've gotten even higher on Denzel Boston, you know, in the last week. Yeah. And I, to me, the runout for Denzel Boston is very optimistic because even if Deshaun is not playing quarterback there, Shadur does a lot of the same shit in terms of launch, launches the ball, 40 yards. And I just think, you know, there'll be, if you put any other quarterback in that situation, then they're getting more first downs. They're getting in the red zone. more often. And that's where I thought Denzel Boston really thrive is like the 20-yard line in because he is such a big-ass dude that can win jump balls in his physical.
Starting point is 00:40:24 And I thought he was going to be like a just, you know, a seven touchdown guy. You know, Jacoby Lane, very, very kind of similar rookie year expectations where I was like, these guys are going to be annoying because they're going to get a lot of touchdowns. Then Denzel Boston is breaking giant plays left and right early. on. And I like that call. I think that's like more of a long term. You know, the, the Jonah Coleman thing is like the sugar high for hopefully a week. The Denzel Boston thing is the, hey, if he continues produced right now, that's cool. But I would really like him to be hit my lineup, like starting lineup like a month from now. And just be able to stay in there.
Starting point is 00:41:05 Hey, hit it consistently. Yeah. That's the exact point too. And like you said, I'm optimistic that can happen. Even as soon as this week, I believe the ramp doesn't come down. He just keeps churning up, given that what we've seen from the Panthers defense, who is going on the road now into Cleveland for better or worse, they have allowed 59 points to the Bears. And then they played Cooper Rush and Jack Strand. So we don't know anything about the Panthers defense just yet. We need a relevant league average test, which I believe the Browns bring. Sean Watson also quietly, 17th and fantasy points for dropback. So league average quarterback play is what's happening despite the, you know, no one has
Starting point is 00:41:48 worse PR than Deshaun Watson. He did it. He made his own bed. He made his own bed. But also, like, he has no one in his ear telling him to go to the podium and even be the least a bit sorry about anything. He's run the opposite spend zone where actually he's done his penance and he wants you to know about it.
Starting point is 00:42:07 Yeah. You saw the CBS graphic, right? What was the graphic? It was quarterback comparison last week, whoever they played. You just said it, and I completely forgot. Baker. It was Deshawn versus Baker, and it was whatever, you know, stats or career yards. And it had a line for allegations.
Starting point is 00:42:30 And it said 27 allegations for Deshaun and zero for Baker. And I was like, Jesus, guys. whoa I was like someone's getting fired for that yeah the statistician slipped that past the producer for sure yeah yeah yeah the guy running the kairon back there was like watch this shit guys he's out of there he doesn't have a job this week
Starting point is 00:42:48 but yeah this I think this is their I think this is their home opener yes and I think it would be so poetic for Deshaun to get hurt no home opener and shudder to have to come in fans would love it be so funny yeah that'd be the biggest crowd pop you could possibly get.
Starting point is 00:43:07 Yeah. Okay, I think the rest of the guys we touched on kind of in the injury matrix above, but if anybody else you wanted to hit on. I will just touch on also. I want to bring home the point of O'Ronday Gadsden right now because a lot of people listening may have just lost Dallas Goddard and Gadsden in the second half whenever the charters took the field again without Charlie Kolar and David and Joku ran around on 72% of dropbacks.
Starting point is 00:43:34 He was out there as a point. player who we saw a month-long window last year where he was a top 12 tied-in. You can start weekly. I feel like now you have no choice. And we get, I understand, week one, week two, Cardinals, the Raiders, it should have been much better, most likely. But also, like, when you're looking at the advanced stats, like EPA per play and drop back, like the Cardinals and Raiders are somehow, like in the top half of the league.
Starting point is 00:44:01 And so we're still, it's early. The football season is so long. We're still stepping back and questioning, are they up there because of the quarterbacks and offenses they played? Or are they up there because they added talent and they're good. The Raiders did spend a ton of money in free agency as well. They might just be a good defense. But I know through two games, the Bill's defense is not good.
Starting point is 00:44:24 They have a lot of players out there who should be CVS cashiers right now. And that's why David Montgomery scored three touchdowns against them in week one and Zia Stroud moved the ball at these. That's why last week, again, Jared Gough, it really just came down to which defense is going to get a stop first. And the blinds had to punt a couple times and couldn't keep up with Josh Allen. But the Bill's defense is rough out there. This is my last litmus test. I'm not dropping Justin Herbert.
Starting point is 00:44:52 I'm not dropping Quentin Johnston like a lot of people. In fact, I'm starting them. I'm giving them one more chance. And then I will happily overreact with everyone in week three, but I refuse to do it against this Buffalo offense. and defense just yet. Yeah, if you just want to tail our moves, I did just acquire Ronda Gadsden in FFP Diasdi League,
Starting point is 00:45:14 and I plan on starting him because that is a tight-in premium. And I've already taking on water in some other positions where I can't play anybody I like more at the flex than a second time. And given the, that's where I was going with that whole spill, given the multi-week injury for Dallas Goddard, you can drop him because, I'm very high on Dallas Gardet.
Starting point is 00:45:36 It would have been nice for him to stay healthy, but he's also a player we can probably find on WaverWire. We can get another Dallas Goddard. I think we have a couple chances in that. This week in both Ronda Gadsden and Terrence Ferguson, Kenyon Sadiq, the next tier after that. Yeah, what's Ferguson's ownership? Is he way too on to make any of these lists?
Starting point is 00:46:00 No, no, no. Ferguson is on this list, so it just comes down to whether we need to tie. I believe he's 19% roster in Yahoo Leagues. And what we saw last night without Pukua, that's why I think it's really hard to gauge. Yeah. Since we saw a punted Rams game in Australia, basically, that they didn't care about.
Starting point is 00:46:19 And then we got the usage last night, which included a 30% target share and a route on 72% of dropbacks, which are incredibly elite peripherals. But does that stick around when Pukunakua is healthy is my, biggest concern and it's a pressing question given that a ronde gadsden if it goes right has at minimum a month for this room by himself yeah yeah and it's it's i'm interested to see how they read what they did last night because devante obviously went nuts like that was an old-fashioned like erin rogers to devonte game where he was just eating did they read it as yeah thanks for filling in good job good job
Starting point is 00:47:02 T. Ferg, like, thanks so much for your service. Like, we'll see you down the road. Or does McVeagle, you know, this could be pretty effing easy if I use all three of these guys. And that's, you know, the conversation he's going to have and the decision he's going to make. Okay. I want to jump to this next part, which I think is, this is the most, putting these together is the most fun to me. But then seeing how John answers them is also the most fun to me. So it's week two, or it's week three.
Starting point is 00:47:31 so we have two weeks of track record already. So I wanted to do what's more real. And then I wanted to do bring back most worried about and try not to duplicate anything we did last week. So the first one was fun. So what's more real? What are you taking more confidence in out of week two moving forward? Devante Smith, Trevion Henderson, or Bay Shelter?
Starting point is 00:48:01 Tutton. Devonta Smith is real because we do have splits going back multiple years with Devontas Smith without A.J. Brown on the field. Now, I will say, I think it's interesting for Trayvion Henderson that last year, whenever Ramondri Stevenson returned from injury, then through the postseason, so their last five games together, I believe it was. Henderson was only handling 46% of the backfield touches. His first game back this week against the Steelers up to 64%.
Starting point is 00:48:36 For one of the most explosive players in league, that's awesome. That's something you can start immediately. And Remandre Stevenson, I know people will push back and say, yeah, but Stevenson fumbled, it could change. You're right, but Stephen also leads all running back in fumbles since 2024. So what's stopping him from fumbling once again and just giving Henderson to work once again? So the fact that they proved they're willing to bench Henderson,
Starting point is 00:48:59 Stevenson if he fumbles and lean on Henderson who then exploded against the Steelers necessary explosiveness because they had zero juice so far through the air against the Seahawks and Steelers just seems like a genie you can't but back in the lamp. So I'm very excited about Henderson, but I played devil's advocate just there because I'm telling you where it could go wrong. Devonda Smith is just out here without Dallas Scott or now. It can't go wrong even when it goes wrong. Yeah, I think we've already, it took no time at all to do a 360 on Henderson of, you know, still drafting him in fifth round, sixth round as a solid RB2.
Starting point is 00:49:42 And then week one was, we're such idiots. What are we doing here? Stevenson got all the playoff touches. We're dumb guys. What do we do this? And then we're all the way back around to the Patriots need anything. They need anything on offense that can move the ball. Anderson looked awesome.
Starting point is 00:50:00 I think all are both, all three of them are pretty real, or significantly real. Henderson is obviously, I've seen, I've been rug pulled. We've all been rug pulled on Henderson a couple times. Yeah. Where they kind of teeter, totter back and forth.
Starting point is 00:50:14 This is a Ramandre game. This is a Trevian game. Tomente Smith, I hope that's real. He's a guy, have a lot of money invested in, him being real. And then Tutin, obviously, I think everyone knows our feelings on Baychell Tutin.
Starting point is 00:50:28 Chris Rodriguez has been pushed to the side so quickly. It's encouraging, but I need Bayshel to pop off. It's to the point where Amir Abdullah is also playing basically side by side with Chris Rodriguez. I got a lot of questions asking if you could drop Chris Rodriguez for Jonah Coleman, for example. And I'm definitely doing that if you had that choice, just because one showed he has a ceiling, whereas Rodriguez is strictly a contingency option who doesn't seem like he'd even get all the work to himself. if Bachel Tutin got injured. So I'm stashing instead to hire a ceiling player.
Starting point is 00:51:04 Sliding down the ADP board, and that's kind of how I try and pair these a little bit, or at least somewhat close. What's more real, Denzel Boston, Devon, Valle, or Josh Downs. Obviously, two weeks of good production from Velae, 1.5 good weeks, I'd say out of Boston, and then Josh Downs finally popped off in week two. I would say for the next month, Devon Valle is the most real because, again, all they use is three wide receivers.
Starting point is 00:51:34 And their third one, Bryce Lance, is only out there running cardio and not actually earning targets. It is all going to Chris Oliva, Devon Velae, and Jawan Johnson. So still love Devon Velae. Having said that Josh Downs is one of only 15 players in the league to run around on 85% of dropbacks through two games. and this is why you drafted Josh Downs, by the way. It's because the range of outcomes was so wide, and Alec Pierce returning from this significant injury, we were not sure of the ramp-up time,
Starting point is 00:52:08 or as we saw, reaggravation and trying to come back too quickly. Keenan Allen, you know, didn't sign until August. He's only been on the team for about a month in a couple weeks, so we just didn't even know what he could bring to the table anymore, not to mention suddenly the three-game suspension, and there's no other debt behind them. So Josh Downs among these three, Denzel Boston, Valet Downs. Downs is the player I want the most out of them.
Starting point is 00:52:31 He's the one I believe can also be the most real all season long, whereas Jordan Tyson in the second half of the year looms for Devon Bailey overthrowing him for targets. And Denzel Boston, though, long term, rest of season, I think could easily his ceiling be higher than Josh Downs, but I'll still buy Josh Downs. I like all three, though. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:52:53 Yeah. I mean, I don't think there's any wrong answer. There's kind of like different timelines because of the nature of the Saints. I are right now. And then the quarterback situation with the Browns. You know, I think Shadur would be a plus. But whenever you add instability, you know, whenever you swap a player or a coach, like it just introduces volatility.
Starting point is 00:53:20 Yeah. Okay, these are guys that are kind of just flat. flashed for, or minor, minor flashes and some big flashes, but, but one, you know, these guys are a little bit further down the ADP board. Caleb Johnson, we have yet to talk about Dalton Schultz or A.D. Mitchell, which one is more real to you? A.D. Mitchell does not seem like at least his participation is going anywhere right now, given the injuries we talked about earlier to both Omar Cooper.
Starting point is 00:53:53 and Arian Smith. Maybe Omar Cooper returns the moment he can after missing four games. Again, there's probably going to be ramp-up time there. Maybe Gino Smith, if the Jets fail, gets benched towards the end of the year, and we instead get K. Clubnick under center, which would be a disaster. But overall, right now, I think A.D. Mitchell has the highest ceiling of this bunch. Dalton Schultz is a player. We can continue plugging in.
Starting point is 00:54:17 Obviously, this past week, as you said, 25% target share, 14 receptions. just an easy plug-and-play option when Nico Collins is available, but also when Nico Collins plays, you go right back into thinking you can't use Dalton Schultz unless you're desperate. So I'll stick with Mitchell and Caleb Johnson, the Packers running back. So on Sunday, Marshawn Lloyd, leading this team in touches,
Starting point is 00:54:40 fumbles to open the fourth quarter, and from that point forward, Chris Brooks gets four touches, Caleb Johnson gets two touches, including the first two carries in overtime, Marshawn Lloyd benched with zero touches. I don't know if that's a teaching lesson though because we've seen this so many times or now they have moved on from Marshaun Lloyd altogether.
Starting point is 00:55:01 Not to mention their best tackle, Zach Bakubuale, is now out for the entire year. And last year, whenever they lost him, I think I may have talked about this on last week's show. They moved to be, I can't remember the exact ranking, but I think it was 30th and EPA per dropback without him because their offense just can't function. without good pass protection. So I'm actually worried about the running game for the Packers as a whole, and that they're probably like the Jaguars last year. They just can't be a good running team no matter who's back there
Starting point is 00:55:34 because their offensive line is such trash. Yeah, it rifling through three different running backs and all three of them being like some level of ineffective. I guess that happens, you know, I guess that's a thing that can just happen in a game, it felt like I have I guess I got to run it a couple times just to keep people honest but it seemed like either they had the mentality of eff it Josh jacobs be back at some point I don't really need to establish any of these guys or eff it we're not going to win the game this way
Starting point is 00:56:12 anyway like we're going to have to sling it I'm going to have to get Christian watson going and even Tucker Kraft ramped up quicker than I probably wanted to. Okay, to most worried about, I threw three quarterbacks on here to start off, because we never talked about quarterbacks. Drake May, Baker Mayfield, or Justin Herbert? Most worried about Baker Mayfield, too. Anyone who watched that game Sunday against the Browns, Baker Mayfield was wildly out of sinking all over the play.
Starting point is 00:56:47 It doesn't have, it's only two games, so it doesn't have a top 12 finish just yet for fantasy. Not to mention his lone matchup against Brian Flores coming up against the Vikings this week. Baker averaged 5.1 yards per attempt the last time they squared off. We know Flores is going to bring the blitz heavily, and I'm very much concerned. You know, it's funny having said all that.
Starting point is 00:57:10 Like, we know what Baker does whenever all the odds are against him. Like it's an endless cycle of Baker Mayfield. You have to be completely out before you then get right back in and believing him. So would it be shocking if they, like, upset the Vikings with Kyler Murray coming back? No, but at least what we've seen on paper and behind the scene so far, Baker Mayfield is absolutely the one to be concerned about this group. That's what I'm, that's what I'm ready for. I'm ready for everyone to pronounce him dead so we can finally play good this season.
Starting point is 00:57:39 Might be this week. Dray, I know people aren't happy so far, but, I mean, we still saw a top five, quarterback and points per game last year. And this season, he's opened against the Seahawks, which are the toughest team to play in terms of passing the ball. And the Steelers, which kind of revamped in the offseason and are a much better secondary this year. So I'm not believing anything we're seeing from Drake May yet.
Starting point is 00:58:06 I believe he'll be just fine. All right. Next grouping here. This one is kind of a grab bag of people that, well, I, we'll see what you answer is. Most worried about. Travis Etienne, A. Chain, David Montgomery, or Luther Burden, all drafted around the same range, fourth, fifth round in the leagues, high dollar leagues that I was wrapping up the season in. So Etienne, Montgomery, or Burden, most worried about. What is happening with Travis E.T.N. Because he hasn't earned being called A. Chan yet.
Starting point is 00:58:44 Hasn't played like A.C.C. It's befuddling. It's insane. So for reference, ETN was guaranteed $28 million by the Saints this offseat and free agency. Kenneth Walker was guaranteed $28.7 million. And we're seeing Kenneth Walker now have at least 26 touches in back-to-back games, a career high, 23% target share where they are literally revolving the offense around him to make the best quarterback in the game. Petra Mahomes, his life just much easier. And it's sympathetical right now. But Travis E.TN, what's happened instead, despite all that money, is that week one, finished 25th among all running backs,
Starting point is 00:59:21 and the share of backfield touches he received from the Saints. And then last week with Kendry Miller, Healthy Scratch, in place of Alvin Kamar, 31 years old, who's coming off a knee injury in camp, ETN dropped to 40% share 32nd in the entire league. It's a disaster. I even wrote in the Waverwire column, I'm not dropping him because he's one of those guys
Starting point is 00:59:43 that you would have high on your priority list as a stash the second someone else drops him. So similar to Trayvion Henderson's outlook last year where you could not drop him understanding his ceiling, then Stevenson got injured and we played him every week. I still feel like there's a range of outcome. There's something going on here and injury by the scenes where ETN will get 18 plus touches. But can you start them this week? Absolutely not. Get them as far away from your lineup as you can keep them stashed.
Starting point is 01:00:12 Yeah, and then Dave Montgomery had a bit of a thud last week and got, I think, out snapped by Woody Marks, which I don't know. There's going to, Dave Montgomery is not going to have all bangers. I'm not that worried about it. Luther Burden is obviously closely tied to whatever the hell was going on the first two weeks, which is half Vikings and then half Khalif Raymond fixation for Ben Johnson. Can't really explain because the same shit's happened to Colston Lovell and I'm not. It's some reason makes me less worried about burden. But Bayesian didn't target him three times. Bajon does end up playing.
Starting point is 01:00:47 He did target him three times in the fourth quarter. So maybe we get some PPR scam with Luther Burden. And overall, I meant to make this point earlier, like, I don't know why I think it's going to take a completely different quarterback starting for the Bears to get Colston Lovelin going. But I'm like, yeah, maybe this gets Colston Loveland going. Like, whoever the hell ends up starting. If it's Bayesian or Case Keenom and they're just like, yeah, that big son of a bitch right there. Yeah, I'm just going to get, that seems easy. That's the easiest thing to do right now.
Starting point is 01:01:19 But I'm just, maybe I'm wishful thinking because I have a lot of money invested in Colston Lowland. Stornium. He's a player. I'm not selling just yet. But I do fear the stock is about to get lower on prime time in Monday night football with a third string quarterback against the Eagles defense. So if you're thinking about buying, I would wait. One more week, yeah, because you can get them for even lower. Yeah, I'm waiting and then I'm sending some offers.
Starting point is 01:01:47 All right, final, most worried about pairing, Carnal Tate, D.K. Metcalfe and Emeka, Ekbuka, underperforming wide receivers having a time. Cardinal Tate was already had a shaky profile because unlike the rest of the brethren that came from Ohio State, carnal Tate did not produce. We could step back and say, yes, but he was around elite receivers for his entire career out of that wide receiver factory for the Buckeyes. So no big deal. He'll step in and perform. But I don't think people realize Cornell Tate averaged less than four catches per game for his career in college.
Starting point is 01:02:25 It was not good whatsoever. And now we're seeing him through only two weeks, first round receiver, but he's only averaging three and a half catches per game. So I don't think it's just as easy to say, yeah, but it's Cam Ward and one of the least intuitive offenses in the league. under Brian Dable and the Titans. It's also the fact of who Cornell Tate is as a player. So I think the red flags have been there since April on tape. Yeah, it's Carnell Tate and Brian Thomas Jr. like Spider-Man meme, like right back at each other, except for I got dunked on for Brian Thomas Jr. for one season.
Starting point is 01:03:00 But long enough timeline, I got you, Doc. Both of them just didn't do anything in college and went so high the draft. I'm like, maybe I don't know what I'm talking about. Okay, that was fun. But even if, like, Cardinal Tate himself figures it out, they'd still have to manufacture his targets near the line of scrimmage since Cam Ward is 28th in the league right now among the 33 quarterbacks we've seen have a threshold of a high dropbacks.
Starting point is 01:03:29 Cam Ward's 28th and catchable target rate. So as you would expect, even his passes, aren't near his receivers whenever he drops back. Yeah, I'm really excited for them to get the number one pick and then Arch Manning hold out and not want to play there. That'll be cool. That'll rule. Okay, I think we touched on like the other bigger topics. We touched on Saints backfield earlier, Pinnix jumping in there, Packers backfield and Chargers tied in. Those are like the kind of like the influx situation.
Starting point is 01:03:59 So let's wrap up with some buy cells. So here's my list. I always say it's top three by adding more as I get further down the list. DeAndre Swift, if you think the Bears, sorry, Bears offense is going to tank, and he kind of flatlined on you last week, and Manunga had actually a better game and working him in a lot, I'll take that off your hands. I'll take the Andre Swift off your hands. I'm buying curious on DeAndre Swift, just checking the fences going, I think I know,
Starting point is 01:04:33 say Caleb has to miss two weeks, and it's the Case Keenham show or the Tyson Bayesian show. they are going to run the ever-loving piss out of the football. And DeAndre Swift is going to get 20 touches, and Kaumannan guy is going to get 18, and they're going to try and do it on the ground. Whether or not they can do it, I don't know. I mean, the best example is for an offense that scored three points last week, and DeAndre Swift averaged 2.8 yards per carry,
Starting point is 01:05:04 he was the RB-16 on the week, because the volume and this offense is still way too good. Now imagine when it hits like it did in week one, that's the kind of player where you say this doesn't look like buying low, but my medium is buying low. Yeah. Yeah, if you're getting any kind of for the top three guys that I'm mentioning here, if you're getting any kind of discount,
Starting point is 01:05:28 if there's any kind of hesitation on the guy that spent a, you know, third, fourth round pick on Swift. likewise with George Pickens. I know George Pickens has been a little bit underwhelming for people and they probably, there is this thing that happens whenever the other wide receiver on your team is going off
Starting point is 01:05:46 that people go, well, he's not the favorite. You know, he's not the, you know, he's not the fortunate son. He's not the guy that's getting, you know, the sun's not shining on him type shit. And it's, to me, that's just telling me that offense can do that.
Starting point is 01:06:01 And it's going to be different guys each time. I'd rather have the offense that, can break out and put up four passing touchdowns like the Cowboys did last week. And Pickens has just kind of been like a soft silent killer through two weeks. And I don't think that lasts very long. They're going to get pushed, I think, quite a bit by the Ravens. I don't know how this game's going to go because it's in Rio. But I think better days are ahead for Pickens.
Starting point is 01:06:27 And I'd like to test the fences on what people are willing to sell Pickens for. Likewise, on Giovante, kind of the same thing. was probably the worst, one of the worst rushing games the Cowboys are going to have, just because they didn't have to. They ate through the air and they kept eating. And Jake Ferguson had a great game. I don't, you never expect the touchdown from Jake Ferguson, low, though, too.
Starting point is 01:06:50 I think they get right back to Giovante week one usage as quickly as possible. I do want to note for Giovante, what's happening here is the Cowboys offensive line. You see it when you watch the game too. But right now the Cowboys are literally dead last and, yards before contact per attempt, which is an offensive line stat because anytime he touched the ball, he can't make it, literally can't make it one yard before having to shed a tackle. For example, the only running backs averaging fewer yards per carry before their touch this year are Tank Bigsby, Jeremiah Love, Rico Dattle, Quintan Junkins, and Tyler Al Jir.
Starting point is 01:07:28 Two of those guys are on the same team for that bad Cardinals offensive line. So this for Javante Williams, I'm not saying he's the most explosive. back in the league, but he showed us last year when he's healthy, he can be a workhorse. The issue is anytime he touches the ball, he's getting sworn by seven dudes immediately. Yeah, and the commanders, that's kind of like their strength is up front in their front seven. And the Giants do have a, the Giants have an incredibly talented front seven, too. So that's what we can be looking at so far as well. Yeah, and he was good against the Giants.
Starting point is 01:08:00 And then they decided they just, you know, didn't have to do it against the command. Anders. Two other guys that I just kind of saw some things from that made me really interested. I mentioned earlier, like, I think bill time is over in Washington. They were using Rashad White every which way whenever they actually needed to move the ball and were chasing points. And I think the Cowboys are about to be in for a long, a long second half if Jaden's elbow doesn't self-destruct because he was getting whatever he wanted. And Rashad White was getting quite a bit of what he wanted. And, you know, it's Rashad White. He's never going to be 20 carries and five receptions like we dreamed whenever he was coming out of college. But, you know,
Starting point is 01:08:42 if he can get a little bit of work in the running game and then be on the field for every third down, every two-minute drill, get those checkdowns that Marriota's going to love to throw. I think Rashad White's about to be a factor in a real annoying way. And then if you just got to watch a Chiefs game and see what image. Johnson does, man. I know we all wanted to dunk on him because of the combine stuff, but guy rules. Yeah, despite
Starting point is 01:09:09 the combine stuff, though, when you watch Emma Johnson and his profile coming out of camp, like the peripherals were really good, and he was a really good player. The only thing about Emma Johnson is that I feel like he's the perfect Travion Henderson
Starting point is 01:09:25 comp from last year, and that you legitimately can't start him. The good thing is, Emma Johnson was a last round pick, if not on your waiver wire, which you shouldn't be, by the way, whereas Henderson still is a rookie, because he had high draft capital in an open situation, still garnered a mid-round pick. But Amos Johnson is arguably one of, if not the very best handcuffed to roster. I just don't think there's a path here, a role here, unless Kenneth Walker gets injured because
Starting point is 01:09:53 they've already shown us, they are willing to lace it up and ride Kenneth Walker out. Yeah. And, you know, that seems really fun right now. now, but I've also done, I've been on this, this ride a couple times with Kenneth Walker. I think whatever he was, four years into his career, four years, he, he gets some pretty hardcore injuries consistently. And, you know, it's fun while it lasts. But, yeah, and image just looks great. He's putting, it's putting moves on people and just, yeah. Did you want to throw any buys in there that were, that were interesting you to knock on people's door?
Starting point is 01:10:30 I think we've honestly talked about a few players already that I'm checking on like Chargers, wide receivers. Ladd-McConkie played with a flat jacket last year and the Chargers have literally been a top-ton offense when he's been on the field on first routes and they've plummeted to bottom three whenever he can't play. Again, an offense shouldn't revolve around one player, but so far, like if Lab McCong is healthy, that's what makes the Mike McDaniel offense go. So I'm very willing to buy him.
Starting point is 01:11:00 and it seems like you might be able to get him low if someone wants to get out on the chargers altogether ahead of what is on paper this juicy matchup against Buffalo unlike Zayflowers, for example, where you can't get in low because before he got injured, all he did was explode for 100 yards. So someone who has him is holding on to him.
Starting point is 01:11:19 And then, yeah, Colston Loveland, I'd give it a week to buy, but still, I'm in. It could be ugly Monday night, but I'm back in still. I'm not really selling him. Yeah, there's that psychological thing of when a guy like literally one year a week, which Zayflowers probably did week one.
Starting point is 01:11:37 It's just like a different kind of, nah, not selling him. And I forgot to mention, and Drake London ahead of Thursday. So you mentioned Michael Pinnock's changing everything. And when Pinnock and Drake London were on the field together through week 11 last year, because that's when Drake London suffered his injury and was ruled out for the rest of the season. And to that point, London was only one of four players. who was seeing 30% of his team's targets, and only Jackson Smith and Jigba and Pookonakua
Starting point is 01:12:05 average more fantasy points at wide receiver than Drake London did. I think it could be genuinely a massive game for London on Thursday. Thus, this window is going to close really soon when people realize just how bad Cooper Rush was. Yeah, yeah, and I think he probably fits in that category of like Swift and Pickens of it's if you're getting any kind of legitimate discount. Yeah. If you have a guy that was drafted, say, two rounds behind Drake London,
Starting point is 01:12:33 and then you've had somebody that emerges, Gadsden, whoever, that another team can use. Like, okay, take these two guys. Let me take that problem off your hands for you. Let me, let me take care of George Pickens over here. Give him a new home. Like, he hasn't helped you. Same thing with Drake London. I think that's a great call.
Starting point is 01:12:53 Who is the first guy you mentioned? Glad McConkey. Yeah. interesting idea for Mike McDaniel to build a whole offense around a little tiny white receiver that that missed half his college action. But here we are, dude. When I laugh, so I'm trying not to laugh. But yeah.
Starting point is 01:13:11 We're here. We're here, dude. I just, I want a temperature check at least because, again, the fire that's happening is everyone drinks their coffee and says, this is fine in L.A. Maybe someone wants the, to get rid of the entire Charter's office from the roster. So I at least want to check on Lagmaconchi for due diligence. Yeah, there's that psychological thing that happens to of like when an entire offense is a chemical spill, then people are like, why didn't I see this coming?
Starting point is 01:13:42 And I want to get off this as soon as possible. And that's not the read for me. The read for me is, yeah, when Ladd McConkey is healthy, he's going to be a problem. We run out of hope with some cells pretty quickly. Devante Adams, I think that's obvious. three touchdown game two or three touchdown game um look like 25 year old devante adams again obviously it's because puka's out but tay was still going pretty early in drafts i was surprised the community as a whole was still that high on devante adams uh going in drafts this
Starting point is 01:14:14 year and um you know i'm trying to get off him in a lot of dynasty situations so this might be more of a dynasty slant but um if t ferg is emerging and puka comes in comes back kind of getting squeezed a little bit for devante future production but obviously i'll tell you uh sell high and a guy after a game like that um but just a reminder the same thing for digs uh stephan digs um had two touchdown game against the cowboys it's one of the situations or you can copy and paste you don't want stephan digs moving forward you want x wide receiver number one against the Cowboys. And then Jonah Coleman,
Starting point is 01:14:58 if you are in sharp leagues where people, you do have a rookie draft, maybe, or just people know what they're looking at and are really into prospecting, then they know the name Jonah Coleman. People get overly excited when a rookie running back
Starting point is 01:15:16 gets a clear deck in front of them, whether they've produced or not. And sometimes they're willing to pay someone like I drafted three or four rounds ahead of that guy to jump on and ride the wave of a running back that's taking, you know, taking over a backfield. And I don't know if Jonah Coleman is. That's just, I think they're right back to the same bullshit
Starting point is 01:15:41 Sean Payton wants to do as soon as the other two guys are healthy and it might be really short-lived. It's certainly possible. Yeah. Any anybody you're trying to get off of right now? I'll quickly mention. I did say, you know, buy Chargers and Ladd-McConkey, but at the same time,
Starting point is 01:15:57 I do think it could be worth selling Omari and Hampton either this week or after this upcoming game against the bills, if only because everyone's seen on social media, the Chargers' upcoming schedule, which is the toughest in the league. But not only that, the Chargers and Justin Herbert currently have the lowest running back target rate in the league. They're not throwing to their running backs at all,
Starting point is 01:16:20 under my Daniel. And when you look at that upcoming schedule that we've all seen, I believe Dan has even talked about it on the dumb zone. The chargers after the bills play Seattle, Broncos, Chiefs, Rams, Texans, and Ravens. It is a buzzsaw front sevens that even statistically, like behind the scenes, you can't run on. So super tough if you're not getting those outs for targets. Yeah, the two easy ones are behind them.
Starting point is 01:16:47 And they crap their pants. And they not only lost, they crap their pants. Yeah, it's, and I, you know, I don't want to get too deep into Colin O'Marion Hampton, a, you know, a flop or not quite fitting, but there is a lot of, there's a lot of, there's a lot of talk that he doesn't fit in the Mike McDaniel offense. And they might be right. I have no idea. But we'll, we'll see.
Starting point is 01:17:13 He was always the one that was shakiest around that one-two turn this season where I was like, yeah, I'm good. I think I'm good. But not that I saw this Chargers thing happening. I did not. I didn't see Joe all sucking and all the offense just being atrocious and not being able to get first down to that Led McConkey. So do not trust me whenever predicting offensive outputs. But this is awesome, man.
Starting point is 01:17:37 You're a warrior. You're a beast, dude. I know I know you're feeling. I know you got a long week and need to get some rest. But you put forth a badass effort and I appreciate it, dude. I literally went from drinking P.D. light. I feel like Kayla Williams, actually. I went from drinking pediolite, just trying to get any kind of fluids going in my body to doing an hour 20 when I said, hey, let's try and come to 30 minutes.
Starting point is 01:18:01 Because like I'm not, I have stripped throat. I can't breathe at all. It's so tough to speak. So yeah, this is my crying when I simply tweaked my hamstring moment. You were crushing it, dude. I was like, I was like, do you want me to go faster, speed through this? And I was like, no, John's fucking killing it. Just get it out of the way. Well, now I'm going to say. And I'm glad. I'm glad. we got to do this again together, which we will every single week at the normal time, which is being debated still, but I believe we have a better idea next week. Somewhere around 8.30 will be on here.
Starting point is 01:18:35 But thank you guys for watching. Thank you for listening on the audio version of the dumb zones feed.
