Hello, I'm professional broadcaster Dan McDowell, letting you know that you were about to hear one of our free podcast.
But if you'd like to subscribe at dumzone.com, you'll get four shows per week plus the weekend wrap-up and any bonus sods like our business Wednesday interviews.
So if you forgot how to use the 15-second rewind, that's dumbzone.com to subscribe.
Now, on to today's program.
Let us talk for a moment about fair lease.org.
That is our car dealership.
It is Brandon Aubrey's car dealership, and it could be yours as well.
They've helped out so many Dumbzone listeners that they set up a special hotline just for you.
972-705-4815, Connor or Nick.
They will handle all Dumbzone leases and maybe even for your business.
Maybe for your business.
Get unlimited miles on commercial leases.
You can write those bad boys off.
Just write it all off.
Just write it off.
What does that mean?
I mean, they can help you.
They're a credit union.
That's what makes them unique, what makes them flexible when it comes to your financing and flexible when it comes to finding you a car.
But the flexibility really comes home because you just don't have to go anywhere.
You don't have to change your schedule at all.
You can just watch ball or do whatever you do.
With that dumb zone hotline, Connor or Nick, 972-705-4815, fairly.
Fairlease.org.
Fair least when you don't know what to do about a car, because car stuff is hard.
You don't need a dealership, baby.
Hey, hello friends, let's do this.
Happy Monday.
I'm Dan McDowell.
I'm Jake K.
We're going to do this thing.
I'm Blake Jones.
I'm Fudy CK.
Henry is here on the couch as well.
Here, not the Game Day Men's Health Studio, gameday.
com.
It lives on in the cloud.
It is the Game Day Men's Health
studio high atop my garage as we will broadcast live to tape here today.
I believe maybe tomorrow.
I know we're here Thursday evening.
If we can promote ahead, we have a nice little game stream.
Carry that momentum.
Big victory Sunday into Thursday against a reeling Tampa Bay club with a backup,
backup quarterback.
Yeah, it's one of those deals.
You know, you buy tickets to a game,
you many sorts of things.
Maybe you buy vacation.
You make vacation plans,
and then there's a big storm,
a Nor-Easter.
Who knows?
Oh, yeah, because we made the plan
because it's Baker.
I'm betting that if we had the full menu
available to us again,
and Jalen Daniels was coming to town,
we'd probably,
Jalen Daniels, yeah, Jalen Daniels,
we can bail.
I feel that.
Daniels.
Good one, but I think that there are too many tentacles.
Yeah, it's all right.
And you're the one who has to deal with them.
Yeah, football is great.
Let's watch some football.
We're going to watch football anyway.
Might as well just do it together.
Oh, I, the cowboy fan, am in no position to discount any game slash victory, whatever.
I haven't heard it.
I haven't looked it.
Guess the line?
I say eight and a half.
I'm going to tell you, I have very little idea of what happened in the bucks.
game yesterday other than they lost. So I don't know how bad like they played. I saw the score.
It was Green Bay, right? Green Bay's ass.
Yeah. Their issues. We'll see them next, right? The Cowboys' High Flying Offense at home. There's
no way it's less than a touchdown. I'm going to say seven. I was going to say seven a half.
It is currently at 10. That's insane. Here we go. I will of course still take Dallas,
but you do win. I mean, that's the whole, that's the game.
If they made it 11, are you taking Dallas?
If they made it 13, are you taking Dallas?
Of course you are.
Interesting.
Well, yes, Thursday night, big stream.
It's always funny to me when gamblers are like three, not three and a half, though.
No, no, no, but, dude, that's, that's, I've, man, I've watched my dad, my brother and been around it enough to know.
That's what, I mean, maybe it's just a cognitive bias where those are the ones you remember,
the ones that you won or lost by half a point or could have.
that's probably what it is.
In any case, Soroy will be here Thursday night as one of our couch guests.
John Hampton, former S.M.
The great John Hampton.
Great football, great football fun guy.
I spent a lot of my weekend with TC though, and I'm not particularly fired up about this,
but I want to take you all's temperature.
He's really not willing to look past the Soroy's abdication
of their payoff of last season's
I like that energy picks
and I'm like buddy I don't know I mean I'm one man of a three man op
or his op opportunity opposition operation
shot he will tell us later
he really forced an op last night
into his press conference
so it's up to you guys but something
it's going to come up you know
we'll have two interactions with Mike Soy on Thursday
we got to reset well we'll do it on Thursday during the show
but yeah, we've even got more evidence.
The Sorroys did not do their best payoff.
We think they went to two games.
One person came forward and then 20 other women.
Yeah, they definitely didn't go to three games.
And you know, my, I don't know, I'll make public my thought.
My thought is it's a good bit for them.
It would be good pub for their podcast.
And I think why should we continue to just do that for them?
Like, you're going to insult us with this?
you're kind of shitting on our little game here
and it was fun.
We invited you because we're really good friends.
I want to see them do well.
And then they just want to ignore it all season long.
And then at the end, also not really do the bit.
And it would be really good for their show.
And so us complaining about it and calling more attention to it
might be better for their show than me just ignoring it.
So one thing on the table is,
just ignoring it.
And if you don't want to respect our show,
well, then why should I give a shit about yours?
How about that?
Well, I apparently do not give a shit enough about our picks
to win a game or triple play ever for sure.
I haven't looked this morning, but I don't know.
I clearly don't know what I'm doing.
Nobody does.
It's all fun.
It's all fun.
Who cares?
That's the whole point.
Oh, I, yeah.
I'm not.
I think you guys are a little more.
That's what's ironic about it is I think Soroy's the one who's the most fired up every weekend, like dialed.
Now.
Oh, I care.
Now I will tell you.
I care.
But in the end, it's fun.
Yeah.
Do bet payout.
That's the point.
The point of all of it.
We could just pick games every week.
The point was the bet payoff.
Isn't that the fapping thing where you just add yourself?
They're just doing the whole thing without the end?
Yeah, I mean, wasn't the point the bet payout?
That's of all of these.
We could just do picks every week with friends.
It's fun.
We've done that in the past, you know.
But, you know, let's add a little something to it.
Now, I would be willing to offer.
It's just disrespect for our show.
I just won't have that.
I don't want to bring it back up,
but if you'll go to a Wings playoff game in Blackface.
Oh.
Now we got something.
How about those wings?
I don't know.
What does that mean?
Survive in advance, baby.
Oh, yeah?
Who do we beat?
I couldn't tell you.
No, I do.
I could tell you what the lady looked like.
They could be one lady?
No, the lady that fainted.
The other team's coach.
All right, wings versus current day LeBron.
All five, LeBron's one person.
Five minute quarters.
How does that game go?
Does LeBron score?
Yeah.
Yeah.
If you can have five defenders.
albeit it was the golden state valkyries dan their coach if you haven't seen it she's uh talking to a referee
during a time out and gets really excited and then just drops to her knees and like falls out
tie walker's desperate the wings got knocked out oh well they won the night when did they get knocked
out jacob ballsack they lost they won they won the other night they lost friday night okay that may
in the game where she fainted.
So how about those wings?
Man, a moment of silence for the wings.
Well, they've got to pay it off somehow.
One more thing before we get into a weekend check.
But it is a...
We have mentioned it a couple times before, but it's in passing.
But I want to do it on a Monday show in the beginning.
And you told me last week, just bring it up again and pound it a little harder.
We are looking for a bowling alley.
We're trying to host an event.
Not sure exactly what it's going to be, but if anyone has a bowling alley contact, you go to a bowling alley you like.
You think it might be good for an event for us.
We'll reach out, but share some numbers for us or share anybody you know who has a, you know, we know Titans of Industry.
We had Frank last week who helped us in Houston, who is a Titan of Industry.
has many buildings under his watchful eye.
You know, there's guys like that in Dallas that tune in.
So if you have any bowling connections,
we're looking for a place to host a bowling event.
We've had a couple.
We've talked to a couple different ones.
Yeah, shout out to Andretti's in Grantscape.
I don't know if we'll do it there or not.
Jefferson let us tour that place.
I'm absolutely, have you ever been to a birthday there or anything, Blake?
No.
Man, that feels like Mount Ejon steroids.
I'm definitely doing a kid birthday.
birthday party there one day. But bowling for sure, and I think it's important to know we will do a
weeknight. A lot of people run away when they're like, ah, we don't really do events.
Oh, that's what it's all about. Week night for sure.
My partner wants your Luby's special where we'll take the Tuesday 3 p.m. slot.
Not that early. It's an evening event. But anyway, bowling, hit us up. You can go to the Dumb Zone at
Hotmail.
What is our thing?
The dumbzone at gmail.com.
The dumbzone at gmail.com.
The only one privileged enough for a high-quality hotmail account would be Brackett Dan at hotmail.
We can check.
We'll be brought to us by a new sponsor, which is, are we calling it Beva Holmes?
Because I thought Blake said Beva before.
Well, yeah.
No, that's actually not correct.
Beva Holmes.
is part of this new sponsorship.
But we're directing you to realestate.dumzone.com for all of your real estate needs.
So there's three different entities here.
One run by Logan Verrett, one run by Chris Holman, who is Blake's softball stalker,
and the other run by Beva Holmes, who is Brian Evans.
Beva focuses on, like, if you've inherited a home, your parents' home or something,
or somehow I know Will, and it's like falling apart, you'd like to get that thing to market.
You don't want to deal with all the hassles of that.
A lot of like what they do with Clause and the insurance companies.
Beva can help you with that.
If you're looking to sell or purchase a home, maybe you're trying to get into the rental game.
These guys can help you with that for sure.
Chris Hallman, former Major League pitcher.
You know Logan Verrett, Blake?
Remember him?
Yeah, corner.
Well, he's involved here, as well as Brian Evans and Beva Holmes.
It's got real estate.dumzone.com, whether you're looking to buy, sell, rental properties.
You need to get rid of a home that needs some rehabbing.
it is real estate.dumzone.com.
All right, weekend check.
We were in Houston, as you may know, on Friday.
A lot of rain driving.
And it just got me to thinking with all of these rain delays in sports as well.
If we see lightning on the roadways, you don't have to just pull over.
Like everybody didn't have to stop driving for a half hour.
Does lightning hit cars?
so why don't we all vacate
does
what's a lightning rod
like tomy
Loren
Hassan Piker
that's
solid political comedy
but
what is it really
is it something that attracts
the lightning
like if you have a lightning rod
I've always come to
understand very basic
you probably learn by cartoons
or something that
it like if there's a lightning
rod and there's a bunch of other stuff, the lightning would gravitate towards that lightning rod,
right?
Yeah, I'm not going to look this up.
So why not?
But I just want to know.
Just put a lightning rod at the top of stadiums.
Right.
And then say, we're just going to keep playing because if there is lightning, it'll go to the lightning
rod.
It's like a little magnet to lightning.
That's what I believe a lightning rod to be.
There's honestly no better explanation.
Because why would you ever be out on the farm and be like, God, we just need some lightning.
We need a rod to, like, there's no.
why would you ever need it?
It's to
redirect it from somewhere else.
Yeah.
So I believe I've just solved all these delays in sports.
Well, I'm interested in Clayton's thing of,
he said, cars have rubber.
Is that somehow stopping this?
I've always...
You don't want to get hit by lightning?
Throw a condom on.
Right.
You're good.
Right.
Got home.
Dan fights for this.
wife.
Yes.
She wasn't just waiting.
Just, I mean.
In saran wrap.
And greeting me at the door.
Body paint.
Hot meal on the table.
Just her panting.
Just couldn't wait for me to get home.
No, it was just that it has to do.
It's happened many times, but then it happened again this weekend when I get home because
she was already parked in the garage.
And she doesn't park straight.
So then later she yelled at me
She's like, why do you park so close to my car?
It's hard to get into my...
I'm like, well, you...
She parks like diagonally.
So what is my job?
Is it my job to pull in there
and then also park incorrectly
so that she can get...
Have more room or should I just park?
Like a human just parks...
No.
Yeah, you should have been like...
You know, actually I assume that you wanted me
to just move your car for you,
but then I looked in there
and your keys weren't there.
So I couldn't.
But because it's like, what are they thinking?
Did they assume you'll move their car?
Well, like I said, it was just a little far, but when the garage is wide open, it's like, oh, I can park where bar one.
Yeah, he's gone.
When she's.
We left on Thursday.
I came back Saturday.
It's, of course, garbage day.
Friday, did the garbage get taken out?
No.
It did not.
Ouch.
Back to back.
But it was, I'll give her the rain.
It was raining exceptionally.
And did you remind?
Probably not.
I didn't even do the reminder.
Okay.
Why?
Why get carpal tunnel with all that typing on the phone?
Yeah, I don't know how you resist, man, without kids here.
Because with kids, I really, I keep my mouth shut.
Because I come home and I'm just like, hmm, hmm.
Go.
Go.
And then the mom weekly call got on that.
My mom lives in Cleveland, the home of the Gulf of Cleveland, I think, or the Lake of Cleveland, whatever it called.
And I know the Guardians are down 1-0.
Okay, she wasn't aware of any of that.
She, though, she was, there's always a problem.
Every week it's a minor problem, but it'll be a problem.
Remember the one time she called Apple?
like she's like i couldn't figure out this on my phone so i called apple so my called apple oh yeah
oh you weren't here the day i was talking about that might have been a stream or something
yeah she's called apple called apple she's like oh my iPhone i couldn't figure out this or this so i
called apple i'm like what does that mean that's awesome she was i just called apple i went online
and searched apple uh phone contact and hello do she get a person at all yeah eventually yeah
she ended up talking to apple that's great
Well, so my game was going to be, who did my mom call this week?
Because every week she does seem to call somebody.
So who did my mom call this week?
Okay, it's an east coast-y type city.
It's a downtown-ish, apartment-ish-type thing.
There's always the possibility of someone like with the city.
Well, I'll just tell you.
Cable.
Internet.
Ooh, Jake's got it going.
Spectrum cable.
Because for some reason, I turned on my TV, I could only have three channels.
And then apparently I hit a favorites button, and then that showed the most three traveled channels that I go to.
But she did have to spend a couple of hours navigating her way through Spectrum TV so she could.
And I believe next week, it's either, is Invidia?
Is that a TV place?
TV maker or Sony?
Sony certainly is.
Yeah, Bravia?
Bravia might be.
She's like, I can't figure out, but something then with her remote that is not the spectrum remote is going awry.
And she's like, I might have to call Bravia this week.
Oh, no.
The manufacturer.
I'm like, well, keep me informed on that.
You're not going to step in here?
What do you mean?
I can't do any.
I'm a thousand miles away.
I feel like, let's do the math of how many hours does she have left.
Do you want her spending some of those on the phone with a,
TV remote manufacturer.
Dude, I'm on Thumbtack.
I'm finding a handyman that I can trust
or somebody that I like
that I pay to go over to their apartment,
mounting a new TV,
getting a remote and saying
any time you've got a problem
to call this guy.
You can find some crackhead or something
that go over there and 20 bucks
fix whatever you need anytime.
I've got all kinds of services.
Thumbtack is legitimately a good service.
Have her call Henry.
I'll chip in for a wire wheel trip.
Oh, geez.
Just send him up there.
Yeah, just get everything straight.
Yeah, she could call Henry because I believe my daughters won't answer her call.
Oh.
Well, no, they don't like getting stuck on the phone with her when she's asking tech questions.
It is.
Because it will never end.
Yep.
Yeah.
Food E.K.
Well, I volunteered to drive young Henry down to the huge.
Houston event.
Going down, not eventful, he slept most of the way.
They ride in the back seat?
No.
He rode on a towel in the front seat.
And on the way back, though, we had a pretty decent time.
I had a little bit more conversation.
He decided to stay awake for the trip.
Yeah, that's a bad passenger falling asleep.
Is it?
He went to sleep on the way there?
Yeah.
That's interesting.
I've never known that.
This is why I don't like being a pacific.
A.m.?
Yeah.
Slept pretty much the whole way there.
You have a late night?
I would have thought that was great.
Yeah, I don't have to do it.
I'm worrying about this.
It was because.
Blake is a veteran.
It was raining the whole time.
That's why I usually roofie, whoever should drive them with me.
I just yerk them so that they fall right asleep.
No, you're happy.
I keep it really cold when I drive.
So he was freezing out over there next to me.
but it was all right going down just because it was raining most of the time so i was just uh you know
white knuckle in the steering wheel hoping that the idiots in front of me with their hazards on
weren't going to just stop in the middle of the road one did um and i just i was just
i lost a couple years of my life just trying not to just run people off the road because of
how stupid they drive in the rain so burline gets in the car it's an hour drive it just says maybe
Maybe I'll grab a quick 20 minutes in REM sleep or something.
Or let's say that it's you and Dave Barnett or fill in the blank and you're driving to Ames, Iowa or San Angelo State or something.
And I'm an asshole if immediately I fall asleep?
I've never considered that.
I mean, maybe Henry gets a pass because they see each other every day.
But, you know, if you don't see this person, why don't you want to catch up or just help navigate or just.
I mean, that person is doing you a favor by driving.
and you're just going to sleep on them.
I guess I don't know the circumstances.
I was okay with it going down.
It was fine.
I had to concentrate on the drive.
I have never really done that trip.
That's far south to Houston myself.
So, you know, new roads, new things.
On the way back.
It's not South America.
It's Houston.
I grew up.
I learned to drive on a dirt road when I was nine years old.
So, like, I don't...
But I get it, I guess.
I didn't get it to the extent that Houston would be like...
Well, there's a lot of roads down there, all converging in one spot.
On the way back, though, I took this opportunity.
I was like, you know what?
I got to teach this kid some things.
There we go.
So we talked about finances a little bit, taxes, things he's going to have to start worrying about a little bit.
That was only about 30 minutes of the trip.
he kind of got it
still don't think he's going to get it
but he said he got it
then he said probably the dumbest thing
I've ever heard him saying it was the only time on the weekend
that I got really mad at him
he said that
the best time of the Big 12
was 2012 to 2017
and I almost told him to get out of the car
because
that's the time
his consciousness in the Big 12 started.
Was the late 2010s and everything like that.
It was.
That's what you said.
Go ahead.
I said that was when, I didn't say it was the best.
I said that's when like the peak of the air raid was and it was the highest scoring.
My response was go home and just watch Mike Leach tape from tech in the early 2000s and tell me that that's not the funnest time of the Big 12.
But think about all the teams that were scoring 40 points a game.
Talk to me when you've watched all of Vince Young's highlight reel.
Talk to me when you've actually done research.
Does it sound like they drove down and just turned down the worst sports talk show you could want?
That was the time.
Well, no, then we realigned the entire NFL, or not the entire college football conference into Power 4,
realign the power for
made a
relegation league
below that for each conference
all of this all of what I hear is like
reinforcing
the belief I have that I'd like to drive
alone places
like this doesn't
no it's
I mean I got to do something
to stay awake you know
hey I forgot something from Friday night
so Friday after the show
and I
can I preface this with
TC's awesome
But it was Friday night.
And so T.C.
Big success were in Houston.
Shaken hands were literally kissing babies.
Right?
They had a baby out there.
They did.
Hot Jordan's hot baby.
Did not kiss it.
Just to be clear.
The word literally not used correctly there.
It's a high.
We're feeling great.
Another big road show.
It's a PLE.
Big crowd.
Houston people.
Some people were like,
Hey, here's a.
a picture of like three or three guys, I think. We're like, here's a picture of me and you when
you guys were here for the Super Bowl. Oh, wow. You know, they came out to the Houston meetup or whatever.
So it was a big, big success, I thought. And so we're going to ride high into the sunset one
more night at a great hotel. And T.C.'s like, hey, are you kind of spent for the night or you got
like a little bit of time after the show? Like, oh, okay, a little bit of time. How long? He's like,
I don't know, about half hour filming, you know? Oh, okay. So in my head, I added a half hour to
that because I'm dealing with TC. But we're going to get back to the hotel at seven, right?
Half hour, he says, all right, I'm going to give that till eight. But clearly, he's doing a good job.
He's writing skits. We're putting it out. From what I understand, our social media numbers are
doing well. Like, this is all going great, right? According to plan. He's happy. We're happy.
Anyway, what time did I leave your room? 9.45? It was a long film session.
You know, there was a little, oh, we filmed it all, but then I need, actually, that was the totally wrong angle.
I need to now get this angle.
Let's do it all again, which does help because you get your lines down.
Again, love it, love everything he's doing, just the whole, this is going to take half hour, and then it takes three hours.
I think he's got to work on that part of his game.
I've thought about saying something about it, because we've been doing a lot of this stuff.
a lot of it, some of it, behind the scenes, whatever,
and it does seem to be a feature of the process.
You know, we're like learning in sales that, okay, let's just say,
hey, we think you might get a call or two the first couple weeks.
Then when they get 20 calls, they're like, ah, I'm so happy.
But you would have said no.
But if I said, you're going to get 20 calls and then they got 15,
but if he said this is going to take three hours, then you're not in the sketch.
Yeah, but now I'm going to say no next time.
no matter what he says, and that's even worse for him, right?
No, he'll manipulate it.
He'll lie again somehow?
Yeah, I mean, well, I don't know if it's a lie, but I feel like the two of you are, you know.
Similar guys?
Kind of dancing back and forth.
He just said, hey, let's do it in the morning.
I wouldn't care how much time it was.
But it was after.
What if he then had to get up?
But it's like a long...
That's the part you're forgetting.
That's what you forgot.
So that's where we're both the same.
It's going to kind of tend to go back to what makes it easiest for him.
and that will usually produce a good time if you kind of go along with it.
It was a good time.
In fact, I know you were into it.
I'm not upset.
I'm really not upset.
Like, I left.
I went home back to my room.
It was like three hours later than I wanted to, but it was like, you know what?
That's cool.
I'm really tired now.
Kind of tired when we got done with the show.
But anyway, sorry.
I did a Dan Friday night.
Like, I just went by myself, ate some dinner, came back to the hotel, turned on the Stars game, fell asleep about 930, 945.
Oh, okay, so you got, I did Dan.
You fell asleep before I got done filming.
Damn, did you guys see what happened?
Probably after that game to Stars Glass guy.
No.
No.
The bang guy got arrested again, I think another DWI.
Oops.
Oh, wow.
And it was like he tweeted that night, like, Head it out.
season start
like the life or whatever

Let's see here.
Saturday we went to watch the Notre Dame North Carolina game pretty early.
I guess that was our first order of business.
Getting TC parked somewhere for that.
Because that's a non-starter to miss that game, right?
Yeah, he doesn't.
And he typically likes to be in one spot for the whole game.
I've been around him a long time now and know, again, see previous topic.
I watched the last quarter at the 24-hour fitness in the Woodlands.
Oh, nice.
The Woodlands.
Oh, you just stopped on the way up.
On the way home, I knew I would never go to the gym if I drove home and then I would be like, no, I'm just now too tired.
So I had to do it on the way out.
Yeah.
And the Woodlands, man.
South Lake South.
Well, I've never driven around there, but it's like there's nothing.
I mean, it's why they call it that, I guess.
You think there's nothing.
And then you pull in a driveway, and then there's this whole, like, huge,
there's 50 stores inside this wooded enclave.
And then you think the same thing.
You're driving down the street again.
You turn in.
Oh, wow, there's a whole 24-hour fitness and a Taco Bell right next to each other.
This was made for me, this stop.
So I did.
get a little, uh, treat yourself, a little crunch.
Yeah, sorry.
No, they're pretty strict about it.
My dad lived there for 20 years.
Thumbs up to all the trees.
Yeah.
It's awesome.
Yeah, I mean, it's, uh, it's, like I said, it's South Lake South.
It's high-tone.
Southwik South.
But I just thought everything's hidden.
That's very cool.
It's kind of cool.
And you'll see, like, uh, just the sign that just says like Chevron, but it's like kind of understated and small.
Yeah, you're like what?
Where?
You turn in and it's like, oh, wow.
Sorry.
No, no.
Jake, Saturday.
We, uh, we.
Notre Dame.
But we didn't really do too much else besides that, that day.
We checked into another hotel on Saturday.
Oh, I'll tell you one thing we did Friday night is we went to a place suggested by our CFO Billy.
He's an Aggie and an oil gas guy.
Those are the guys who know Houston.
And it was called Moon Tower Inn.
And it was just like a little divey bar restaurant that has about,
14 to 15, 16 types of wild game hot dogs.
Everything you could imagine.
Anything you could kill.
They got it in a dog.
Squirrel?
Venison, elk.
I think I went venison, elk, and buffalo.
But it was incredible.
Absolutely.
It was packed.
It was a good vibe type place.
So you'll eat.
How late was that?
11.
They were up until
1.30 or 2.
I think we went at 11.
Did you join this party?
No, I had to...
I did my own searching for food,
which was very hard in downtown
Houston at 9.30 or 10 o'clock.
So I just had to settle for Jack in the box.
Oh.
You want Uber Eats?
No, I was out, and I didn't want to get back.
I was starving because of
everything.
Filming.
And so, yeah, and I thought, you know, late night, if you could grab some breakfast at Jack in the Box, it's not that bad.
So I did my breakfast order, and I was told, we're not doing breakfast right now.
We ain't got no eggs.
Yeah, it's an important part.
Man, I will Uber Eats on the road.
That's a treat for myself for sure.
You can't be eating Jack in a Box late night on the road in Houston.
There's too many other options.
I was desperate.
I had some sort of like famed late night burger and the fries were insane.
They were like garlic fry.
I ordered that at like 2 a.m. on Saturday night.
But yeah, then we went to the game Sunday.
And it was an experience, man.
It's not like a top tier NFL experience by any means.
Did you get parking?
I paid for it.
Okay.
Yeah.
What was that?
100 bucks?
Yes.
And that lot was pretty rowdy, but it's not like a crazy scene, you know?
Nothing too gnarly going on.
It's got to be weird.
We had, I don't know who was telling us.
He was either McCool or Frank, a couple of our big business guys, were saying that the fan base, they're more into the Oilers.
Like, if they could have done the Browns thing.
Yeah.
where they kind of kept the name and colors and stuff.
Like when they do the Oilers' throwback uniforms with the Texans,
like that's when everybody gets really juiced.
Yeah, and they're trying to work it in now.
It's like it's fake.
Like they just dropped this other team in there
and it still hasn't really taken root.
Yep.
Maybe you've got to win something big.
That probably doesn't,
having all your playoff games be it too,
PM on Saturday.
Yeah.
Probably doesn't help.
And C.J.
Stroud was probably the brightest light
they've had in that
two plus decade, you know, running.
That's like 18 months now.
Well, yeah.
That would be the other one.
But so, yeah,
we did the game.
McCool said he saw
four fights in the game.
We texted, we saw each other at halftime,
and then texted a little bit afterward.
We were on opposite side.
Is it full dome or does it retractable?
I thought it retracted, but I don't, I've never seen it.
It's kind of like the top of a mall.
Like if you were.
Kind of translucent, I guess, yeah.
I don't mind it.
I think it looks fine.
I think it looks like a big high school stadium.
And TC hates it because it doesn't look like it was made with cocaine like the AT&T stadium was, which I hate.
I like that stadium.
Reliant?
NRG back to Reliant?
Yes.
Do you know why they changed it back?
Did a handful of people make a series of unwise bets on the company and end up behind bars?
Or is that their baseball stadium?
No, it's just literally no one in Houston called it NRG.
Everyone just called it Reliant.
Okay.
And so when the contract was up, they went back to Reliant.
Hey, can we work something out?
Everyone calls it Reliant.
And Reliant's like, yeah, well, the price of the...
Yes.
Yesterday's price is not today's price.
Getting out?
Was that a beating?
Because it was for us.
It was pretty bad.
It was pretty bad.
And we left before the, like we left after the Cowboys went up 3430.
I'm like, all right, well, I can watch them give up a touchdown if they're going to on the walkout.
And it was still brutal.
What was the fan breakdown percentage wise?
I heard JJ Watts say this morning 6040 Cowboys.
I would say it was definitely 50-50.
And, you know, there's a fun thing about being a cowboy fan, which is there's not that many other fan bases that have less juice than we do.
Especially among like, I mean, but you just think about like the teams the Cowboys play, the Giants, the Eagles, and the commanders, Cowboys fans are not near that rowdy.
We're not going to make a huge impact on the road there.
But, you know, when it's the Cardinals, we have a shot.
When it's the Texans and you're on the road, you have a shot.
And especially if, like, those fans are not loud enough to drown you out if you want to be loud is basically what I'm saying.
If the Cowboys bench wants to turn to a section and say, get loud, then for a brief period of time, it's basically a Cowboys game.
They're just not, they're not the type of fans that are, there's no, I was surprised to hear McCool say that it was fights.
I guess there's booze, whatever, but it's not like a threatening environment.
It's not.
You're right behind the bench?
We were in that section right behind the bench, but probably 20, 30 rows up.
Anything worth noting?
I, looking at the sideline all day.
I mean, that's my thing is I'm obsessed.
I'm obsessed with watching the sideline.
It's funny because T.C. and I went to a Texas, Texas A&M game about a year ago.
And from a similar vantage point, he was like,
it's so funny how many fewer people there are on an NFL sideline.
It's not just a player.
There's no bullshit on an NFL sidearm.
sideline.
It's,
everybody's down there
is doing something.
And,
uh,
it's,
it's really interesting to me to watch.
I don't recall ever
dialing in on where an on the sideline
defensive coordinator stood in my life,
but I'll tell you this,
Christian Parker stands all the way away from everyone and watches from behind or
whatever vantage point he can.
But then he's on headset.
He's like in between the booth and the field,
basically.
because down at like the sticks,
there's the position coaches,
the personnel groupings,
running guys onto the field.
He's down 10, 15 yards away watching the play.
He's not talking to anybody on the field
during the defensive possessions.
During offense, he's over talking, whatever.
Well, he's certainly talking to the green dot.
Yeah.
He's probably trying to get behind the play.
He's talking to the dot and do his assistant coaches.
But he is trying to get behind the play,
but I think he's also trying to, like, separate himself from,
so you get a little bit of what you get up there.
So they got a guy in the booth talking to him, right, saying.
Bunches of guys, I would imagine.
There are their guys telling him what personnel group is just coming in.
Yeah, and he can also see it a little bit down there.
Better than.
Or if there's ever been a study on booth versus.
There's no way it would be enough data.
What do you mean?
Thousands of games.
Yeah, but they would be against inconsistent.
like you there's no there's no way you would ever be able to to yeah this booth guy versus yeah
what was the other team did he have a booth guy yeah that that's interesting you think the booth
would be better because you can see the all 22 type thing but i would think talking to your players
would be better and that's the other theory he seems to be kind of trying to do both is like let me
get behind this so that i can at least see the breakout of the structure and then i can also go
talk to these guys in between possessions.
Joey Porter Jr. was fun to watch because he was,
I haven't gone back and looked at the snap counts,
but he's a guy who wears,
there's two things about him that are swagged the F out.
One, he wears the full white over the head, hood.
Like, you can just see his eyes, maybe his mouth, but like,
so he is defensive George Pickens.
Yes.
Pickens will mix his up a little bit, too.
But Porter wears that.
And when he takes his helmet off, he keeps that on,
but he puts a flat build fitted hat on over it, like forward.
And he's the only guy wearing that look on the sideline.
And it's notable because almost like a,
I mean, you see this with pass rushers,
but it was almost like a pitcher.
Late in the game, there'd be a third down,
and he would just take his hat off, put his helmet on,
go onto the field, cover Nico Collins,
and then come off and, like, put it back on and, like, dapp everybody up.
It was, like, it was really cool.
Like, he just, and he was talking shit the entire time.
Like, he would get on Nico Collins, and then I thought Joe Hoyt posted a video of it today.
Because that's obviously the thing about being at the game is you can just watch one guy the whole time, and it's awesome.
You can see their emotions coming and going.
You can see who they're talking to after a play and being like, I'm going to get you for that.
you can see him you know picking each other up but yeah they
Joey Porter Jr. is just a dog dude he's a he's an animal
I don't know if he's great or not but I mean like Daron blanded his peak
could never do what that guy was doing yesterday you have to have like a
demeanor about you but yeah it's it was it was a really really cool
I'm very thankful to get to do shit like that because it the vibes are very high
my insides right now.
I thought the crowd was insanely loud.
For the cowboy, from the cowboy's perspective, or overall?
Overall, I thought it was really loud in there.
And maybe the dome captures some of that.
But I thought it was really loud.
And I just thought the Houston presentation was great.
It is cool.
Now, some of it was overblown because they were celebrating the anniversary of their win over
Dallas 25 years ago.
Which is just their, it's also their anniversary year, right?
Sure, but I did hear from Christy that they invited everyone back, and you saw them all at halftime, Andre Johnson, DeAndre Hopkins, you know, everyone that was a part of the early days and in their ring of honor.
But then just like the pyrotechnics and the, they also, Houston does their mariachi thing, but it's in like a Matador feel.
So it's like leading the bulls out and then they run through the smoke.
And of course, Houston rap is playing.
I thought that was super, super cool.
There was somebody who did not think that that was cool.
Someday, we will go to an NFL stadium that does not insist on presenting its presentation like it was an NBA game.
But that day is not today.
What do you think he means by that?
Well, I think you know what he means.
Just too loud. I can't hear anything.
It's just insane.
Cornrose.
It's just insane coming from them.
Like this is not, you know, what is it, Merrill Reese or something.
The guy from the Eagles.
Oh, yeah.
Like, go back and play that Mickey clip where they're throwing it down to him.
What are you here?
Welcome to the jungle!
We got 40 games!
I can't hear the injury report.
Cowboys Stadium is the most aggressively tacky, like, cultural-less place on Earth.
That's really the only thing I like about.
And for Mickey to come out here and act like, oh.
Brad?
Yeah.
Excuse me, Brad, yeah.
We're above this.
This is insane.
So listen to this, this little intro here.
Partner, the Dollars Cowboys.
That was their opening reed.
The first words out of Brad Sham's mouth during that broadcast was,
Lord forbid, someone do something on my standards.
This effing stadium is playing too much hip hop.
What a dork.
Now, let me tell you something else that I think I can't really capture for you.
So it's just going to.
to sound racist.
There's just no way to...
There was something going on before the game that was like, felt vaguely Middle Eastern to me.
Like there was music, uh, lazery type shows.
Like it was kind of a...
Oh, like weird.
Not weird, but, you know, weird to a Western audience.
They do have, uh...
Well, they didn't have yesterday, but Aziz al-Shayir, who will wear pro-Palestinian
cleats that Kyrie Irving then pays the fine for.
He's on the team.
And I also just feel like when you get outside of downtown Houston,
I mean, I feel like there's a lot of like just, you know, your nail salon,
your tanning place, your whole, it's a lot of places that I feel like are owned by Persians.
I think there are a lot, uh, the, what's the guy who's really popular from, um,
talking to four guys who will not know this.
Bo French.
No, it's like, not Vidal Sess.
soon, but somebody who was very popular in, like, the beauty supply game was like a Houston
billionaire.
Oh, Mattress Mac.
Well, my point is that sort of culture, I feel like it's big down there.
I feel like there are a lot of, like, Persian people.
So I wasn't sure if they were trying to do something.
But it was, the pregame was not, let's just, it wasn't rock flagging eagle.
I'll tell you that.
Well, no.
But Brad's point is just there are.
There's bass.
But if you're going to list the top five cities where hip hop has a strong cultural impact,
Houston is in the top five.
And to then come out and say, like, what are all these instrumental beds playing?
Insane.
Yeah.
That's what he is.
Before we move on, let's just mention Atlas Foundation Company.
Kyler, we had him in studio.
Remember that?
We had him in studio.
I had him in-house.
And they want you to know, so sometimes these rains, got a little rain this weekend,
that can then mask some problems that you had.
Like it might be, you know, you had a door sticking or a window won't open or something,
and now it will, or it's like, oh, I guess I don't have foundation problems anymore.
Actually, it just could mask it for a little while.
It will rear its ugly head again in the future.
So you should still get that looked at.
If you had any suspection, suspicion?
Suspicion.
If you suspect that you have foundation issues,
Suspection.
Get an inspection.
They don't fall for the mask.
You can get a free inspection if you have suspicion.
Even in Dallas County, usually they don't travel that way for free.
But Kyler will do so for the Dumb Zone listener only.
So when you call or check out their website,
make sure you mentioned the dumb zone.
Yeah, that'll get it done for free.
Family-owned for 68 years.
They do not employ sales folk.
They're not there to upsell you.
So get that foundation looked at.
You'll meet, Tyler.
Atlas Foundation Inc.com.
817672-9950.
I got back at 830 or 9.
It's not horrible, right?
No.
Listen to a lot of the chiefs,
Raiders game on the way home.
The new CBS number one crew.
Got some audio from that for you.
And then, yeah, fresh off of it looks like they did
Austin City Limits Festival late last week,
Saturday night live Saturday.
And then tonight in Oklahoma City with Matt Grimm and the trucker
turnstile.
You're going to that tonight.
Yeah, I'm going to leave after I...
Take the kid to Jiu-Jitsu at four.
Then come back tonight.
Are you driving with Matt?
No.
I got too much I need to...
Just you?
Yeah.
So you're meeting Grim and his wife?
Yeah.
I think there's a couple listeners.
Just you solo?
Yes.
Are you sleeping over in Oklahoma?
No.
Dang.
I mean, I'd like to say I'm worried about you, but you've been through worse.
I feel like this is positive.
worry, right? I'm positively worried about you.
I'm not negatively worried about you.
And you, I think you're experiencing this a little bit with Blake and I.
You definitely caught the bad part on the booze part of it, but, you know, I mean, I guess
the point can be made. You need to stop doing this at some point, but this has been par for
the course for me forever. Same.
Yeah, yeah.
We didn't really talk about this stuff when I used to produce bad radio.
It was like, I'd rather not tell them.
I've spent my time doing lots of stuff, right?
Yeah.
Maybe that's just perhaps behind me, and I'm incredulous at your energy, I suppose.
Game day.
com.
There's no doubt.
Game day men's health.
There is no doubt.
Can help you live your best life and see turnstile after you go see the Cowboys and Texans.
And then after you do a show.
Go ahead, Blake.
Sorry.
So Saturday, Dan and I shared a breakfast with McCool.
That was a very nice experience.
I did try.
You were in a fairly posh neighborhood that parking was not happening.
And I did not want to valet because I just wanted to hang out.
Yeah, I hate things that are just a valet.
There's a lot of it down there.
Yeah.
Yeah, that was a good time.
McCool's great, one of our dream team lawyers.
I got to thinking about that when I was driving home.
I felt bad because McCool's like, so what do you do on a game?
He's asking me what I'm doing, how I'm watching the game.
So I'm like, well, I got one computer set up.
I'm recording Brad and Babe over there, but you've got to keep your eye on it because it always resets.
And then I got another computer.
I'm doing this.
And I'm watching the TV.
And I thought, I was thinking, I was presenting it as if, like, boy, I do a lot during a game, which it's not that much.
And I was sitting next to Blake, who's got cables hanging out of, you know, his body's hanging out.
He's trying to save a national broadcast.
He's coordinating this and that.
He's dealing with Steve Burline.
He's dealing with...
Right, he has to file Jerry Reco's taxes.
And McCool sitting there at breakfast wondering, like,
what do I do during game day?
We should have been interviewing Blake for all the...
Oh, we know.
No.
So, yeah, shared a breakfast, brunch, what have you, with McCool.
And then I had a day date with a buddy of mine.
We've been friends since middle school.
He moved to Houston shortly after high school
So he was in my wedding
But after you know
I've probably seen him two or three times since high school
Great wedding
Yeah
Yep
Thanks for coming
Yep
And so very cool to see him
But it was a
It was two
It was in the woodlands
So I had
I haven't mentioned that in a long time
Well you know what
It actually just reminded me that we need to
Follow up with our friend Tony
Because when I think of Blake's wedding
Oh that's right
I think of having a one-up on Dan is the first thing,
but right there after it is seeing Tony do the box thing.
Yeah.
He's a big.
He had a great night.
He lives it, folks.
So it was in the woodland, so 45-minute drive up.
So I had to check out of our hotel, go to lunch,
and then come back and check into the Cowboys Hotel.
But I was on Houston Roads a lot, and buddy,
the most aggressive driving I've ever witnessed.
Yeah.
It was every stretch of highway.
There's someone coming up on you.
And I'm normally going 85, 90 in the left lane, but that was slow compared to a lot of these people.
You're just frustrated that you live in Houston.
It must be, I don't know.
But damn, those roads are not safe.
I didn't talk to anybody who said they liked living in Houston better than they liked living in Dallas.
And I talked to a bunch of people who have lived in both.
I think...
Very humid.
I can't remember who said it.
but it is the city of billboards.
Oh, my God, dude.
And most of them are for law firms.
I was very excited to see the push-and-win series of billboards.
Push-and-winner legends.
I'm a big scammer horn guy.
That's a very funny name for me.
It makes me think the Frankles must be really good
because they don't have to dress up or do bits or put on cowboy hats
or sit on a horse or just because they're all doing bits.
So many bits.
It's the closer you get to the coast, you're going to see more of them.
Both insurance and lawyers.
I mean, you get work accidents, rigs, these sorts of things.
Floods, canes.
Ablamos, Español.
Yeah, some of those.
A lot of hearts on those billboards.
One billboard that caught my attention was it was like a, it was in the, it was like a heart-shaped picture, like a pendant.
or something. And in the picture
was George H.W. Bush
and Chuck Norris.
You know whose billboard that is?
It was a furniture store.
It's Mattress Max, bro.
It's right there all 45.
Why these two people for furniture?
Why not? You're friends.
Yeah, they're close personal friends of his
and he had... Because what billboards do you remember
today? That one. Yeah.
Yeah, I guess you're right.
Now you didn't know what it was for.
I did see an...
exotic store celebrating America 250.
Thought that was nice.
Yeah.
Sure.
So.
I can come up with something for that, I'm sure.
Yeah.
So, um, checked in at the Cowboys Hotel and then, um, had to gather credentials, kind of
get my mindset for that.
And then, uh, I had a, uh, I had a date with the symphony on Saturday night.
Well now.
Um, I think I detailed, I, I would like to do some.
the night before games on some of these road trips.
And in my little AI, I put in my musical interests.
And tonight, or Saturday night, it was Rock Mininoff's Second Symphony at the Houston Symphony.
Okay.
Which took you right back to where we were staying.
Why not?
It's just such a retired, like, upscale Houston.
Yeah.
Yeah, how are you dressed?
The dress code has to be.
I've got a jacket for the game anyway.
I just packed an extra shirt and basically wore what I wear to a Cowboys game to the Symphony.
How much was it?
No, it was 50, 50 bucks or so, and just me.
And how were you, as far as the age demographics, where did you slide?
Very young.
But it was cool.
A lot of solo people there, I would guess.
Probably not.
Probably not.
So I had to get some credentials and get some stuff to Steve and so whatever.
And so I was showing up right on time, which is probably a no-no for the symphony.
And so the way that they have it is their parking garage is across the street.
You park underneath and you walk in a tunnel basically across.
And you walk up this spiral staircase into the symphony.
And so when I get up to the top, I hear this lady playing this keyboard kind of thing.
And she's saying one minute to act, one minute to act.
And I'd gather that...
A little do-do-do-do.
Yes.
Yeah.
And she's walking around outside.
And she was saying, you will not be seated during an act.
And so really had to hurry in there and got seated just as the lights were kind of dimming.
And so I was right on time.
and so you sit there a lot of people in tuxedos a lot of older people and i just got the feeling
that this was just like this is how people used to gossip or oh who's he who's on his arm tonight
this is society yeah who's in the who's in the private box and you're in the parlor you have your
binoculars your little right you'll hold the one you hold up right and i'm sitting there like
i'm the poorest person in here yeah you know i'm sitting next to this guy in a nice tucks he doesn't
like that I showed up right on time. And so the symphony is already there. And then the first
chair walks out and everyone applauds. It's the first chair. And then she sits down. She bows and then
sits down. And then the conductor comes out. Oh, it's the conductor. And he takes his place. And
he does a little wave and then they go. And then you're at the symphony. And it was awesome. I
freaking loved it. I can't wait to go back. How long? It's, uh, it was two hours.
And so it could have been four
I would have been there the entire time
So the first act was just the symphony
It's music that I like
For some reason, I don't know
But then the second act
They brought out a choir
And you know
The choir's going
And this dude is Russian
So it's not in English
I don't understand a word of it
And then this guy walks out
Very slowly
I can't
I don't think I've ever understood a word
Of any opera music ever
I don't think is the rest of it in English
Well they had to put
the words on the screen.
Oh, you're like, okay, now I...
Yeah.
So then I was able to follow along.
Okay.
Well, the guy, a guy's enter, the guy enters, and it's like, who the F is this guy?
And he's slowly walking through.
And it was at a pace where I thought, who is this person?
But none of the other symphonies seemed to be eyeballing them or anything, so I guess he belongs.
And then he just starts belting out.
He's the opera guy.
And it was awesome.
So he's singing, and I didn't know operas went like this.
He was singing about murdering his wife.
Oh, yeah, dude.
Apparently she had done something wrong,
maybe a little infidelity or whatever,
and they were stuck inside during the winter,
and he's thinking about killing this bitch.
Yep.
And he's singing, like, singing loud about sharpening his knife,
and I can't get over this grief.
I can't believe what she did to me.
And then, like, while, you know, this score is going on in the background,
the choir is singing.
And then it just, like, changes,
and it's the song of spring, and it's about forgiveness.
And it was very cool.
I enjoyed my time a lot
And so then the conductor's done
Everyone claps
And that was where I thought of Dan
Because like I kind of want to be the first person to clap
But I don't want to clap too early
And so I just had to wait
But so then you clap
And then the conductor bows
And he leaves and you clap
And then the first chair gets up
And she leaves and you clap
And it's just a lot of
You gotta know when to clap
So then there was an intermission
You get yourself a drink
You go back in and I don't know
It was great
I really really enjoyed the symphony
You are the most complicated, most delicious layered onion I've ever ever taken a bite of.
Well, maybe it's a good thing.
So when I got back to the hotel...
Do you agree?
Yeah, who is this human?
It's awesome.
Yeah.
The two-hour thing is crazy.
But I respect it a lot.
The wide variety of things that Blake Jones does.
Yeah.
It's just like a lot of...
But then when he's...
by himself and he could do anything.
He goes to the Houston Symphony.
And it was, yeah, I love it.
I went to the jazz show in, uh, wherever we were.
New York, yeah, Jersey.
And that was fine.
I'd respected it, but this was, this was my element.
And I mean, don't give me too much credit.
It's because I grew up playing Halo.
In the orchestra and the score of that just kind of drew me to this kind of music.
So it's not like, you know, I'm high society or I have good taste.
It's just because I grew up playing Xbox.
That's pretty cool, though.
you would have cried if a Lindsay Sterling cover came on wouldn't you?
I might.
I might.
So, yeah, I had a little issue getting back in my room.
You know the fob that you put on your hotel door that's powered by a battery.
And sometimes they go out and mine did.
So I was stuck at the bar with DJ Ringenberg for a little while.
We watched the Brewers game.
So it wasn't too bad.
And then Game Day got there.
And I've told you about the 90-minute meeting.
before where TV and the referee gets together. This week we had Brad Allen. And the funny thing here
was the Texans walked up and they were going to have a special coin for the game. And so they
hand Brad Allen the coin to flip and they were like, we're just going to need this back after the
game. And he says, how about I make this easy? I'll flip my own coin. And he did. Did not take the
coin. I'm not dealing with this. I'm not giving it back. I got a coin. I'll flip it my own.
Thank you.
Man.
They didn't even look.
So I thought they wanted to use a commemorative coin, though.
Yeah, they did.
Brad Allen didn't.
Uh-huh.
Okay.
No, I'm not doing that.
I'm roughing the game.
Oh, hey, did you bring some of your own flags?
Yeah.
Did you want to toss some flags out here, too?
Did you have any new rules?
His point was, make two coins.
Just give me the coin, and I'm not going to then keep track of the coin.
Yeah.
But I'll think about your stupid coin.
Yeah.
Yep.
But I'll make this easy on you.
I'm going to flip my own.
So, Christy Scales noted that Houston was really dressing up this game because of the anniversary
and everything with the Cowboys.
And this was by far the most over-the-top ridiculous spread of any press box I've ever been in.
So for a lot of your Newton games, they'll serve your breakfast early on and switch to lunch during halftime and what have you.
But so you walk in, to your left is your snack mix.
You get your popcorn.
It's like a big buffet, right?
The eggs, all that kind of stuff.
Yeah, but this was on steroids.
Your snack mix is over here.
Your chips and walcomole and queso is over here.
The wakomole, there's someone there making it fresh for you.
Are they table in front or table to the side?
Never mind.
Sorry.
Oh, table sidewalk.
Okay, yes.
That's it.
That was that.
Over here is your breakfast buffet where you get your eggs, potatoes, and waffles.
Further ahead, if you want to skip ahead to lunch, you got your chicken and potatoes and what have you.
Over here, they have a...
like a soft serve machine where you punch in the flavor and texture you want,
and it'll, like, pour it into your cup, and you've got all of your candies to mix in.
Steve Berline was a big fan of the Reese's pieces, as he hammered two cups of this ice cream for the game.
And then your dessert bar, all of your pie shooters, your cookies, your gourmet donuts.
You want a donut with Captain Crunch on it.
Pie shoot.
You got it.
Yeah, these little apple pie shooters with a little spoon you got, a little pecan pie, little finger foods here.
Just, it was insane.
The spread they had.
Apps have had a big, big, big glow up in the past 20 years.
I really like it.
As a finger food guy, it's good.
It's good to just be able to kind of eat charables.
Yeah, you don't need a whole slide.
Yeah, just a little pecan pie here, a little apple pie shooter.
Yeah, it was, it was insane.
Yeah, and I thought the stadium was great.
It was really loud, really cool atmosphere.
I enjoyed the presentation growing up listening.
to all of these artists.
They played a millionaire after the game, and I was like, oh, yeah, I remember him.
Come on.
I kind of forgot about him.
No.
But it was awesome.
You weren't intimately tied up in the Paul Wall chameleonair feud, hoping they would
make friends one day again?
No.
They did.
That's good.
They were separated for a long time.
Very troubling stuff.
Had to take Burline to the airport.
Which is fine.
he did fall asleep
which I thought
I don't know
it's a 30 minute trip
you know to hang out or something
but he was just snoozing
over there
go over the game
I just
but then like I'm already
his chauffeur
his chauffeur
and I know it
but I feel like if you fall asleep
it's definitely
I am just dry
like I'm just doing you a favor
just sit in the back
yeah just sit in the back
and put your window up
for all the matters
and so stop
I stopped at Buckees a couple times on the way back,
and I think Buckees is a really popular spot
for the divorced parents to meet up and switch kids.
Oh, okay.
Because I saw that a couple times.
That makes sense.
Custody swap?
Yeah.
Yeah.
A lot of Cowboys fans, I think a lot of Cowboys fans drove down for the game,
because Buckees is popular anyway,
but there are a ton of Cowboys and Texans' jerseys and everything.
T.C. requests a Bucky stop.
So I stopped for him on the way home last night.
He went in,
And, yeah, there was a...
There were 40 people in Cowboy
jerseys there at 7 p.m.
Yeah. Hold on.
Texans just scored again.
And C.J. Stroud now, 7 of 8.
137 yards.
7.8-137.
If he's breaking a sweat, it's only from all of the pyrotechnic
smoke in here.
Pre-game warm-up.
Good.
Second-dure smoke up here.
No kidding.
Second and five, I write.
Just let it.
Go.
Do you think they did?
All right.
Let's talk about the game.
And let's talk about Game Day.
Game Day men's health.
I'm a big fan.
Got my team levels checked at Game Day men's health.
They said, you know, if you're trying to be active, trying to be doing a lot, you might
need a little help on this testosterone.
So I get the weekly TRT shots.
You can look into peptides for anything that you would like to do.
Maybe you're trying to get back into working out.
You've got some injuries, some aches, some pain, some soreness.
They've got peptides that can help you with that.
If you're looking to lose weight, you're looking to put on muscle.
Whatever you're looking to do, they've got different things.
Peptides can help you with it.
Hormone optimization.
Feel your best, look your best.
But the main thing is just be your best.
Whatever you're trying to do your best, do it with Game Day, MetSouth.
Gameday.com.
There's 12 locations, 10% all.
all services at all 12 of those locations.
It would be really weird if one of them were excluded.
Game Day, men's health.
Why is that wrong?
Gameday.dumzone.com.
Gameday.day.dumzone.com.
Go inquire about the peptides.
Get your levels checked.
And, yeah.
I really haven't done one of those outside of the open in a long time.
I'm sorry.
I thought you did great.
Oh, yeah, I like that.
All right.
We have a victory.
Solves, saves everything.
You know, it's a very similar game, I think, to last week.
But if you pull out that win at the end, then you have grit.
You have want.
Shottie.
I'll play some Shottie audio for you today, but he's got the, well, that just tells you a lot about the men in this room.
Okay.
I mean, it doesn't, right?
Last week, you know, Shaddy will say something like I knew we were, we knew we were going to win.
We knew we were going to win.
I'll bet you would have said that exact same thing if I interviewed you five minutes left in the Baltimore game.
You know?
Yeah, Clint Kubiak or whichever one it is at halftime claim they were going to win.
Oh, yeah.
And should they have, should Vegas have pulled that out, they'd have been playing that over and over.
Like, oh, man, look at that comp.
That's why.
they won because of that confidence.
But they won't replay that
too many times now because they didn't win.
You know how many guys
have guaranteed a win
before a big game?
You know, it becomes a big thing, but then
if you don't win, then no one
says anything. Anyway,
it was a good game.
Yeah, it was very fun.
It was a fun game to watch.
It was fun from what you guys
are saying, fun to be at, except it was really loud.
And pirate techniques.
Not to me.
at least for one guy.
I had a great time.
We had a Fox game, second tier, so we didn't get TB,
but we did get third leg Greg.
Kenny Albert, is that his main guy now?
No, it's because of baseball.
Oh, okay.
Joe Davis is doing baseball and Benetti's doing baseball.
Kenny Albert is the definition of, I don't know,
he makes, somehow he's here in the year 2020.
but he makes me think of a 1965 announcer.
Yeah.
Like he is just so pronounced with it.
Yeah.
He's just...
He's just...
But he's just there.
He's...
Not the worst, right?
But he'll also never be the best.
Right.
He's slotted right there.
What does he sound like making love?
We could probably get there.
But him third leg, Greg, and then you have...
Greg is disheveled, but I guess that's the look.
And then Pam Oliver.
A lot of concern about Pam Oliver.
We may or may not get to that throughout the show.
Now, as a guy who played on a lot of B teams in my life,
occasionally you would get, one of your buddies would get cut to the B team.
And they were like pretty good.
And you're like, oh, man, you don't belong down here.
They just had a positional, you know, a little log jam up there.
You really should not be with us nerds.
I feel legitimately bad.
It's how I used to feel when Aikman had to hang out with Kenny Albert during the World Series.
Greg, Eric Olson went from like, man, this guy's the man.
I love watching Greg Olson.
Now it's like, here's.
Did a Super Bowl.
Yeah, did a Super Bowl, you know, his times were good and not.
Hey, Greg, it's me, Kenny Albert in the noon game.
And he throws it down to Pam Oliver.
It's just, I don't know, feels bad.
It feels like he should get to go back to hang out with the cool team.
He's going to do fine.
I know, but.
You don't worry about third leg, Greg.
The problem is obviously that Brady's good, but stuff happens.
weapons like Romo.
It was the Joey Porter Jr.
He is now on the Cowboys.
How much is he going to play?
Nico Collins.
He's back.
That's fortuitous that Joey Porter Jr.
might be out there against him.
And it turned into the,
a game, this is how the Cowboys are going to win games, man.
30 point minimum.
You got to score 30.
and
DAC, it's
going to be on DAC.
Forget about Shottie playing calling
and shoddy this or that.
Shottie is what Shottie is.
He's a haircut as a head coach
and a play caller.
I think he's incredibly average.
But Dak is proving himself
to be well above average as a quarterback
and it's going to go as far as Dak takes him.
And C.D. Lamb was big boy, man.
He is
Didn't we say last week?
Sometimes he plays bigger than himself sometimes.
Yeah, I've always thought for his build, he just runs really physically bigger than he is.
The first catch, he got a first down, he did the stir the ramen or what is it, the drug thing?
Yeah.
That somehow.
Cook up a little.
Somehow that has escaped the NFL's.
Which is crazy.
It's crazy.
I mean, if you grew up as a rap fan, you've known for a while how insane it is, the stuff that does and does.
doesn't get beeped, right?
Like, you couldn't say blunt,
but, you know, you could infer that this song was about killing someone pretty easily.
Say Skeet.
Yeah, and Skeet made it through.
We saw last week, obviously, Colin Simmons got hit for the pissing everywhere.
Which Jamar Chase kind of did last week.
Yes, and what Jamar Chase is doing is, Dan, he's going, like,
like this.
Do you know what that is?
So big?
He's flopping his dick.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
And he got popped for that too.
A couple guys did.
And the NFL was like,
I've never seen a guy do a first down symbol like that.
Somebody's like,
that's not a first down symbol.
Now, other Texas player,
I don't believe,
did the kid get flagged for the taint thing?
Have you seen that kid?
No.
In the same game, Texas, Tennessee,
one of their players scored,
wiped his taint, smelt it, and passed out.
Oh, yeah.
And Chris Del Conti had to issue a statement this weekend on both.
He was like both Colin Simmons and this player.
I thought he has a sense of humor, Chris Delcund.
Not about that.
And yet still, I mean, yeah, you can say he's cooking, right?
And have people been saying that forever?
Like pre-cooking drugs, I assume.
Like, oh, the guys, he's cooking.
Cooking with fish grease, right?
that's what my grandpa would say but when cd's doing this
it's clearly a message to his boys it's yeah well anyway 17 catches not targets right
catches yeah and hell it might be 17 targets it feels like he caught everything thrown
his way deck though was threading the needle between defenders and you know he was under a bunch
of pressure at various times in the game.
But you just got to, if you do give him time, more often than not, it feels like he's going
to find CD and or George Pickens.
For how great you hear the Texans defense is to allow one guy to do that to you, seems
egregious.
Yeah, I heard a couple.
But it also says something about how great CD is, I guess.
I heard a couple of interesting notes.
And I can't sit here and tell you that I know what's going on with the Texans defense.
I did listen to their postgame show.
And it was really a second half thing, though, too, right?
First half, it seemed pretty good.
I mean, they were getting good pressure on DAC with just four men.
Right, but they're 0-and-4.
You know, their defense is getting, I mean, even if you want to use the nerd stat after four games, they're 26th.
Haven't you always said that's year-to-year, it's more difficult?
to predict that a defense is going to maintain what they were.
So hard.
Rather than the offense, you can usually tell the offense is going to be this and it is.
When you make the point about like pressure or coverage, that would, that's the one thing that I would say that I come back to is that I do think, you know, pressure is pretty consistent.
You don't see a ton of drop off in those guys.
Corners happens all the time.
Happens like they fall out of a damn window, you know?
Deron Blan.
They're on bland.
Maybe Derek Stingley, who knows.
But speaking of him, the Texans, I think had lined him up on the same side of the formation all but like two snaps all season.
He lines up on the left, which is a philosophical thing.
Some of these defenses like the Seahawks Legion of Boom defenses are built where they don't flip sides.
They assume right-handed quarterback.
he's probably throwing to the right.
Our best corner lines up on the left.
Yesterday, they moved him like 20 to 25 times,
which they have not done at all.
So to the point of like,
how do you just let this guy run you?
They were trying, at least on paper,
things that they had not done even in the first three weeks.
Yeah, I mean, it felt like,
well, really, especially with the hook and ladder,
lateral or whatever.
Yeah.
They were a desperate team that had to get a win.
Couldn't run the ball for shit.
No.
Cowboys really couldn't either, except down low.
That's a weird thing to say when Giovante Williams had three touchdowns.
But three or two.
The point is the overall rushing numbers aren't good either for the Cowboys.
No, they're not.
They're not great, but I don't take.
Boy run defense, definitely.
Pretty solid.
Pretty solid.
So, yeah, you don't want to, it's very hard to build your team around an overall defensive
unit playing together well for 17 games.
And then to do that over season, over season.
But their offense, I thought C.J. Shroud was pretty good, but they couldn't, they couldn't
get open outside of Nico, Jalen Noel once.
They're just a talentless team on offense, you know?
You just don't look at it.
You know, Schultz is not scared anybody.
don't have a running back you like.
Shultz is solid.
I think Shultz is solid, but I think he's even below Ferguson.
And I think Ferguson is just solid.
Who is it? David Montgomery.
They picked him up, and you thought that running game would be better this year.
It's been terrible, still.
A lot of penalties.
Houston took a lot of penalties.
That helped Dallas a lot.
I try not to think about that too much.
I was telling T.C. that on the way home, like, you know, because that won, dude.
the late one where you get the hold that backed Houston up and killed that drive.
I haven't even, I haven't seen a great look at that that made me think it was a hold.
But I try when the Cowboys get screwed by these to never think about it.
Like when we leave the den after a broadcast or I got to write a column, I'm like,
I'm just not going to think about the refs.
So this is kind of the other side of it.
When it works out your way, I don't know.
I don't think it affected the gameplay that much.
Well, you wonder, are you causing those penalties?
You know, if your pass rush is great.
I mean, Michael would draw a lot of penalties.
Sure.
George Pickens drew a couple of penalties, a couple holding penalties.
So that doesn't get on the offensive spreadsheet.
You think of it as a defensive problem.
You know, there's some pass interference ones that are tough that you wonder about.
Let's see.
DAC was incredible.
I mean, he's playing at an MVP level.
His best play of the game might have been the one to Flannoy,
where he just checked him into like the perfect play.
I don't remember when in the game that was,
but it was one where he just knew.
He knew they didn't know what to do.
And he's got, there may be half a dozen guys in the world
that can do what he does throughout a full game
as far as getting you into the right play.
Well, that's the key to,
right, if you say a guy's been around a long time,
didn't Romo talk about it?
Like the game slows down, now, you know,
and it's an age-old thing in life, right?
Once you're old enough to know and be smart enough,
but now your body can't perform like that anymore.
You hope that you can get to where you're physically still able to do things.
And I guess the modern athlete probably we get more of that.
Like Roger Stalbach is out of the league by the time he's mid-30s.
Sure.
Whereas now mid-30s seems to be like just where some of these guys are really getting it.
Matthew Stafford.
Yeah.
And then that can be a prime of a quarterback's career these days.
And it feels like DAC is kind of in there.
And it helps to have, look, you surround them with big weapons.
and that's if you want to credit either Jerry Jones or it's just the entire Cowboys organization,
the way to stay kind of relevant year over year is to put all your resources into your offense.
You're going to be, you might never win a Super Bowl again.
You might never get to the NFC championship game again, but you are always in the mix.
It's always fun.
you know, offense is fun.
Then it is like we said, year to year, you can rely on offenses more.
And maybe, you know, as you get older, you are able to handle these late in-game drives and things like that.
Because so much of this stuff comes down to that.
So much.
I would like them to lay it on a little bit earlier and try to build up some leads.
Not that they've never done that.
I mean, that was a big staple under Dack and McCarthy, wasn't it?
Oh, yeah.
And that was like the criticism in the playoffs.
Like, oh, man, they don't play tight games.
They either jumped out to 14-point leads and crews or else it's very tough for them.
You're like, oh, don't worry, we'll just get beat up in the playoffs.
We won't play tight games there either.
But no, the encouraging thing is the idea that even though their defense is not going to be good,
they might be good enough, and particularly against the run to where if you did get into
a late season or playoff type situation, you'd be good enough.
Because while their defense is still terrible, yesterday,
the defensive rushing performance they put forward,
they've only had one game that good in all of 24, 25, or now this year.
So it's like 36 games, something like that.
That's about as good as it's been.
Certainly under-shoddy, and then, you know, if you go back,
So basically Fluse, Zimmer, Christian Parker.
Yesterday was the best outside of one game.
They're ranked middle of the pack and rush defense right now.
They had no prayer at that last year.
None.
So, again, it's early, but they've got guys who can actually tackle.
You're not, you know, Kenneth Murray plays on the other team.
Which was crazy.
It is crazy.
I saw Kenneth Murray.
I was like, wait, what?
And then they're like, yeah, he's the green dot today.
Man, I tell you, the guy we reference, Aziz al-Shayr, the on-off splits for him are insane.
And this is an interesting thing league-wide.
I see a lot of the nerds, both film and, like, analytics and cap guys talking about this,
is like, we don't know what to do with linebacker.
Because Fred Warner's worth like $40 million a year because he runs an entire defense.
He could just, but there doesn't seem to be that many.
in the second tier.
So a lot of these guys make
way more than they should
and disappoint you,
but then you're trying to find
these diamond and the rough type guys
because a lot of them are now like,
are they a safety?
Are they an edge rusher?
But now we're starting to realize
the run is obviously important.
You need linebackers that can tie all this together.
It's why you look at a guy like overshone
and you dream.
Barham, for sure, you just dream.
And without having Shaire out there,
Apparently, I mean, I saw the numbers.
It's like a full yard and a half on offense, run and pass when he's out there against when he's not.
And I will take us to break with one more stat.
Unless I have the numbers wrong, do four games the Cowboys' opponents after kickoffs have the worst starting field position in the NFL this year?
I was going to read them off.
Okay.
Because, you know, they had three good starts, two or one after the blocked field goal, one after the missed field goal, then they did have a long return.
But on their other eight possessions, they started at the 15, the 8, the 24, the 17, 20, 14, 13, 28.
Houston always had a long field in front of them.
If you have a cruddy defense, that helps.
Dallas opponents after kicks first at the 27 and a half.
Dallas offense after kicks, 10th best, the 31 and a half.
And you see that with turf.
But I just, I'm trying to hammer this home because I, you know, our friend is going to be discussed a lot here.
You can tell.
Some more of them are still going to go out of bounds.
I mean, hell, I was watching, it might have been the broadcast from today.
It might have been Kenny Albert.
He's like, where was that kick last week when they needed it to go out of bounds or something?
Or go, you know, inbound.
It's like, what do we talk?
Eh.
But I'm telling you, the last couple years of Cowboys have been middle of the pack in this stat.
They've now introduced the dirty kick and they're first.
He's killing it.
Watch the way the returner catches the punt or the kick.
There was one late yesterday, and I was right in front of us,
and I told T.C., because Brandon was having an up and down day,
I'm like, dude, they're going to drop one of these.
He had to one hand the ball, like one hand over the shoulder,
like a warm-up fade catch.
That's not sustainable for the return team.
Like, that's going to land in the end zone.
And even without that happening,
they still have pinned to the best average starting position
for their defense after kickoffs.
Yeah, and then the final drive was just awesome.
It started with, so they go down 30 to 27.
Dack, it starts with a rare bad pass, almost interception.
Remember that one?
When that final drive started, it looks like it might have been intercepted
if another defender didn't come in and almost intercepted himself.
Then you get the two-minute warning
And they get themselves a
On the third and one
They try the very unimaginative
Let's screen to CD
It did work earlier
So that's why they went back to it
Yeah
Well Houston
That must have been like a hey
We won't get burned on that one again
Because now he gets a two-yard loss
That whole thing
You got to remember
You're like, oh the grit, the resilience
It's just the kind of men these guys are.
I don't know.
The whole game's over if they don't get that fourth and three.
It's fourth and three from your own 32-yard line.
And that gets Jake Ferguson, first down.
But the whole game's over.
And then what?
What is today?
If you had not converted that fourth and three,
you don't have the awesome drive
with a few CD catches,
a pickens catch.
And then, you know, you have C.D. had a great game.
He had 14 catches in this game.
But once again, this team just doesn't have it.
And they're one in three.
Think of your negativity if that one play doesn't convert.
They are one in three.
And was it with the McCool lunch?
We were talking about who they?
elevate if they're like we were in the uh all right there one and eight y'all are one and eight uh or would
would they would shoddy make it if they had lost houston and then they somehow lose as a 10 point
favorite at home to a backup backup backup backup court you need that's what y'all need you all need some
sort of he's the same way he's text me sorry if you have to go to this shitty game dude but it all
it's all it's all hinged on a fourth and three play this happens in almost every NFL game
If C.D. had made, you know,
Pickens doesn't have the drops in the other game.
Like, this happens all the time.
We should use Shottie for comedy, and that's it.
I don't care what he says about, I know, I'm just saying.
We had Dion coming in mid-season.
I mean, listen, post-Jep Saturday.
Well, we were talking it out that Shottie doesn't want anyone with head coaching experience around him
because there's no one that obviously you would elevate.
I just don't know why we're talking about it getting fired rather than just talking about the team.
Jeff Saturday was on our short list, I think.
So was Witten and Sean Lee.
Oh, that's right.
I want a DES.
Oh, hang on.
Houston just scored again.
Cowboys with two of their timeouts.
I'm trying to see the score, but it's, yeah, two timeouts remaining.
There's too much smoke because every time something happens, they set up another firework.
And we're indoors, so the smoke doesn't go anywhere.
Hey, may I quickly wish a happy anniversary?
My son, Luke's friend, Connor, and Abby.
celebrating an anniversary today.
So I want to say Connor and Abby, happy anniversary.
Happy anniversary.
Now, it's only 24 hours, mind you, but that's an anniversary, is it not?
They got married yesterday.
Stop.
Stop.
People said it wouldn't last, and to the best of my knowledge, they're still together.
28 yards.
And I told Connor, he can't get married in the fall.
I was invited to the wedding.
I said, we're in Houston.
You know better, and he's a huge Cowboys fan.
Not that huge.
Exactly.
Or we see that we're wearing the pants
And she said I love a fall wedding
He said so do I
Is the game over?
If he reacted that way
It'll be a long and process
I guess I'll keep looking for the game
This probably is a chance
Congratulations to Connor and Abby
Well actually maybe not a bad thing
Hold them to three after the block field goal
All right
That's a trip dude
Dumbzo.
Dumbzo.
Amber of the week.
I love that.
I think you also had a part-time job at Hooters.
You see the shorts?
Yeah, a little short.
Back in the day.
Greg, if you're teaching you can't have to throw him, you say, okay, I need to.
You're listening to the Dmzone.
That audio sounded bad.
With two Ds, it's been in hands.
Double Ds.
Double Ds.
Oh, promote.
Cowboys stream team watching party is a Thursday.
Thursday night, PILF catering will be on hand.
We'll probably have a Qualus drone high above my garage as well.
And you as well, perhaps, on YouTube.
That's what we're doing.
Thursday night, no baker, very unfortunate.
No puppet.
No puppet.
Maybe.
Maybe a puppet.
Tune in Thursday to find out.
Oh, do we have any announcement for Thursday's show?
I think it's going to work out.
I think we're going to have Steve Burline in studio.
Excellent.
So I'm going to need Henry to go pick him up, bring him to studio, do the show, and then we'll go to the game together.
That's awesome.
Could I send you with a list of questions and we roll on it?
Must.
Yeah.
Must do.
Tomorrow...
Do you think Troy stole your life?
I haven't asked Jake.
Do you think Jake will respond to the affirmative?
Would you like to start tomorrow's show at 11?
I'm not opposed to it.
I mean, I'll certainly be back.
Oh, my gosh.
That's right.
You're doing this tonight trip.
I don't care.
Well, Brandon Aubrey has a short week,
and I asked him when he would like to join us.
And he said, how about tomorrow at 11?
Let's do it.
I'm glad you said that, because that's the exact.
thing I responded with.
Maybe even 10.50.
So we can get going a little bit.
Well, I'm just saying
he'll be on at 11. We can start it.
Yeah, yeah. Right when you get home.
Let's do that.
Tomorrow night or tonight.
Relax. Flick the bean a little, as they say, you know?
So I just have a little shoddy.
I have a lot of, well, the stuff I have from the game.
You have for me?
One, two, three, four, five, six cuts, seven cuts.
I'll play you the one that isn't like the others.
Well, it was actually Greg pointing to a play and talking about the reason the Texans did well on this play.
I think he was talking about Caleb Downs and he was talking about the Dallas defense having poor communication,
which were just the two things in the offseason that you said.
this is why the defense will be better.
Caleb Downs and good communication,
Greg was pointing out pretty early on.
I can't tell if you're like full-time trolling me or not.
Well, I'm just telling you what Greg Olson was saying.
Okay.
And I wasn't going to play it, but I can play it because the,
but all the other cuts were kind of like this.
To Houston.
I'm damn all of us.
Is that real?
Yeah.
Oh, no.
Oh, no.
with their new defensive star
head coach Brian Schadenheimer
he loves Joey Porter
Jr.'s and physicality.
He said he can...
I was hoping she'd be okay,
but when I first got to the stadium
and went on the field,
she had somehow gotten tangled up
in the kicking net and couldn't get out.
Oh, no.
So I think...
Banger had to go get her out somehow,
but I didn't know
if she was feeling bad or what?
No, they put in her new contract.
This was underreported,
but they put in her new contract
that she had to do
every report with a Rice Krispy treat in her mouth.
And that's going to put you behind the sticks.
She's a football lady.
Let's hear more.
You want more?
Yeah, and Kenny, I got the checklist of sorts from Dak regarding Will Anderson.
He says for me, I've got to make sure.
The thing is, look, we're not a producer.
I just want to get ahead of this and say we're not the bad guy.
We didn't put her on TV.
We are replaying stuff that was on our TV yesterday.
And...
Romo just got fired.
Yeah, I think there's so much speculation.
Has she had...
And this has been for a few years now.
Like, has she had a...
A stroke?
Or has she had, like...
Just say it.
And then we could say, we're fighting through it.
And it's great.
Her perseverance.
And despite...
Yeah.
The fact that she's, you know, a sprinter who lost a leg, we're still letting her sprint.
Sure.
Like, I don't actually want to say that I'd definitely be cool about that, but it'd be better than this.
Because at this rate, why not just put her out there and let her score a touchdown?
Let's have everyone run down the field with her.
Pam, other way.
Hold her off.
That way.
Touchdown.
Anyway, I don't need to play all seven for sure.
I think you got the gist there.
Could play you a little bit of shoddy.
of course he will get a bingo on you.
I don't have a lot of Shoddy.
I wanted this game.
I don't think we needed this game.
You know, Rio doesn't define us as a football team, as a coaching staff.
You know, I think I was very upfront and honest with that.
But I wanted this game.
Why?
Because these guys came back off a 10-hour trip.
The Ravens, I think, played at home today.
We played on the road.
We played Thursday night.
We play anybody anywhere.
He heard that, like, a couple weeks ago,
and he wants to say it now.
You're two and two.
Coach.
Okay.
I have to pull up my shoddy file here.
I want to hear what all you have.
Well, I only have one other thing, and then I have, like, the walkoff seemed odd to me.
But this is just the beginning.
Yeah.
This is the opening of the press conference.
I'm sitting here with a pillow, and it needs to be monogrammed.
You're going to get it.
So the title of this cut is there's a lot here.
But we can start with the throw pillow, and we're going to move.
move on to the first question, which I think is ridiculous.
And then we will move on to a thing that means nothing.
We'll start, though, with the throw pillow.
Yeah, I'll start out with a couple things here.
One, God is good, man.
This was a tough week for our guys coming back from Rio.
We have a word in our family, the team, Godfidence.
What?
We have a word in our family, the team, Godfidence.
And that's what this team did.
I don't know.
I've been in church my entire life.
I've never heard that.
Because it's not just church.
It's when you mix church with Instagram and PTA and Etsy and wine and lazy Sundays.
You get confidence.
And I would have been fine if you just said our family.
Sutton came up with that, right?
Then he had to say it's the team.
It's the team.
That ruined your cowboyism.
We have a word in our family.
the team, Godfidence.
Let me tell you something else.
Let me tell you something else.
I'm not a religious guy, okay?
But God in the concept,
you don't need to come up with new words for religious terms.
He gave them to you.
The Lord has a book with all the words you need related to spirituality.
You don't have to come up with portmanteaus.
It sounds good on a fucking instant.
Godfidence.
You also have it in another word tattooed on you.
It's just faith.
Faith.
Confidence in God.
No, but we actually, we have a new twist on it.
No, no, no.
You don't.
It's tattooed on your arm.
But it's, this one's spicy.
We have a word in our family, the team, Godfidence.
And that's what this team did today.
Man, they stuck together.
We've been preaching consistency and finish all week.
And what a hell of a football game.
All right, so there's the Godfidence.
Let me tell you what happened.
They played at noon, and it's too close to when church was.
Because he came in with a lot of God stuff this week, way more than usual.
Well, they conveniently never mentioned that after the last second loss against Baltimore.
That God may have had something to do with it.
And maybe it was that we weren't enough with God.
Like, obviously, Baltimore has more players that are with God.
So we've got to clean that up this week.
I'll know once we look at the film.
Plum Quick.

I thought you're going to say a little something more so I could find the...
Oh, here it is.
When George got home in Michigan.
Keep your private license safe and clear.
I'll flush away.
My lifetime I feel it with Plum Clear.
Don't let poop fill up your house.
When George got his op, what's George do?
Makes place.
So beauty of the offense, thought Dac was incredibly gritty today.
Hung in there, took some shots against a really, really good defense.
Wait, did I, I miss the question, though.
Here was the first question.
I did want to hit you with some ops, though.
But first question, media.
Boy, you want to play in Dallas.
Tough media there in Dallas, right?
Probably want to go to Dallas when he moves.
We thought somehow a CD played today.
So one player had like 170 or whatever yards receiving, right?
What was it?
150.
17 catches, two touchdowns.
What were your thoughts on how he played?
You know, what are we doing?
We are not always having merit-based employment.
But I don't even know what, I'm complaining about it,
but I think the way the Cowboys do things, too, is they don't.
really like when you would watch a Tomlin press conference he comes out with a bunch of things he
has things I want to say I want to make sure I say these things and it would be C.D. Lamb
this is good this is it yeah this we like this we like this these are some negatives all right
what are your questions shot he just is like all right what are your questions so you can ask
him what's the injury report what's it like he always wants it to be like well you're interested
in me ask me questions um
And then so you have to ask like the basic stuff.
That's a good point.
I shouldn't say it's all that it's bad on one end.
But it is your, I'm going to write a, what do I got to write after this game?
Clearly, CD Lam stood out to me.
All right, let's get a coach quote on it.
Just confirming that he had a good game.
But your thoughts on how CD played?
If you don't mind, I'll try.
I don't know.
He didn't play that well, actually.
Did the Texans do anything to try to take CD away from you guys extra?
and what were you able to do to keep going to him?
What were they doing?
How was it that you got?
What were they doing to take George away that allowed you to get to CD?
The answer is probably going to be the same,
but at least you've got a shot at something.
Or there's some things at halftime that you noticed
because the second half split was different, right?
Yeah.
I mean, this is the tricky part
because if Calvin said,
hey, the Texans are a cover four quarter structure defense,
and if you move CD inside and run a tight end off and then run CD to the flat in the vacated spot,
he's going to be there all day.
Tad's not going to love that and neither is shoddy.
I don't think they want that, you know?
So it's again, I think it's a thing that exists because we needed it a hundred years ago.
Yeah, I mean, there's a reason that mainstream TV doesn't put up these 20-minute press conferences.
Right.
That's why we listen to it and maybe we.
we find 30 seconds out of it.
That's actually useful.
So what did I say?
There was three things in this.
The throw pillow.
It was the first question, and then the thing that means nothing.
Kept making plays, kept stacking plays, and we always believed.
We really did.
We always believed we'd find a way to win this game.
That's probably the thing that means nothing, as is I think he's going to answer the question
about the guys.
I think the next question is the old, what does it say about your team that you
you got the win like this.
Because again, if they did not convert on that fourth and three
and they lost this game,
why would that say anything different about this team?
I don't think it would, right?
It would mean that that one play, they happened to get a read on,
and that play didn't work.
The guys still prepared the same.
They still wanted to win, and they still, as Shottie told you,
you know, kept making plays, kept stacking plays,
and we always believed.
We really did.
We always believed we'd find a way to win this game.
I know.
And you did against Baltimore, too.
So that's why it doesn't mean anything
that you really believed you would find a way to win this game.
Unless after Baltimore, you come to us and say,
you know what, we kind of weren't sure we'd find a way to win this game.
And it turned out that that was true.
We didn't win the game.
I think that the prerequisite for succeeding in athletic competition
is believing that you can win.
The problem, I think, is...
Even during a game, even when somebody has momentum against...
You know, you have to still like, well, if we go out and play,
they're not going to have momentum against us because we just made a play.
I think the problem is that if they came out after they lost and said,
we thought we were going to win, we did everything, nobody would accept that.
If they were to say, we did everything right and a couple of plays didn't break our way,
you can't say that.
But that's the way it is.
I know.
Probably in every game, even games, yeah.
So I feel like he's just, he's an empty vessel.
He's up there.
I do think he had a good game calling plays for what it's worth.
I don't think C.D. just gets those yards without – I mean, he's also kind of great quarterback.
I get it.
But at some point, I try to get some credit here.
Yeah, it speaks to the type of young men we have in the room.
That's what it does.
And I just thought this was odd.
Is this odd or is it normal?
Is this at the end of the press conference?
Okay.
I do think we did a really nice job in the running game, holding them to, what, 62 yards, I guess, on 19.
the 10th? Here it is. Here it is.
Good.
Thanks, guys.
Thank you. Thank you.
Yeah.
Congratulations on what?
The win.
Getting to two and two?
But that's what I mean.
Does a media guys pick the end of the press?
Like, do you congratulate the coach?
It's a weird dynamic because they're, they always see each other.
That's why you don't really get local media guys breaking.
big, air quote, negative cowboy stories, you know?
You, because they have to coexist like this, and if there was a real in your face,
I'm always antagonizing cowboy's guy that was there, they would kind of want to weed them out,
or they would make them uncomfortable.
They would, if Don Van Nata doesn't go to every press conference, you know,
Yeah, there's institutional control.
It's interesting.
They kind of know. And he's a guy who does great PR, you know.
That's what shot.
He's good at that.
He's good at vibes.
And I do want to say just that yesterday they clearly,
I think about this a lot with Dak Prescott and Jason Garrett.
We didn't get a guy who has picked 135 and turn him into a franchise quarterback by Jason Garrett
being like fucking grimace from McDonald's just a bump that were like he had something to do
with this somewhere and and shoddy you're not going to find someone who is more repulsed by
that sort of personality than me i feel like this is how uh ego maniacal i am i feel like this is i'm
like jobe this is like a biblical thing for me like that i'm having to suffer through a guy like
this to watch my football team like i'm being tested morally i hate this guy i have
hate this guy before you knew guys like this existed.
That's the truth, because this has been my enemy since day one.
But I try to not let that completely blind me from the fact of he's a,
I think he's a competent NFL playcaller.
I don't think he's good at all.
But I've also seen some bad ones.
And I think he's good enough.
Now, more struggles inside the 10 yesterday still doesn't seem like, you know,
they have that totally figured out.
a podcast I was listening to Nate Tice, Mike Tice's son, and I saw this is going viral this morning.
I sent it to Saad and asked him to ask about it.
But Tice noticed, and who knows, maybe this is Clayton Adams, maybe it's offensive line coach Riley something.
But he noticed that Cooper Beebe was mixing up his head bob on his shotgun snaps like a lot.
and Will Anderson couldn't figure it out.
And the Texans couldn't tee off the way they normally would at home
because he was like mixing up on borderline, you know, with the Bob a little,
it's a subjective gray area.
And that's a sort of thing.
Yeah, that's the sort of thing when I hear, dude, I've been, you know,
I hear the 49ers and the Seahawks and in every sport, right?
The rays and the, like, have these little cool type things.
It's never the Cowboys, ever.
And so when I hear stuff like that, I'm like, all right, well, I don't know who it is,
but they seem to be trying to get little edges that they maybe didn't have before.
You see the way they move lamb around yesterday, and Shottie deserves some credit for that.
Well, yeah, we've talked about them getting rid of bones.
Why aren't they the raise?
Why aren't they the first one to do the Wildcat?
Why aren't it?
It all comes back to that's not the model.
The model.
What if it doesn't work?
And then...
It might be four and 12.
Four and 13. We don't do that.
Yeah, we could be 12 and 4, though.
You've got to keep it in the middle.
Yeah.
The video we put on Instagram yesterday, I mean, T.C.
It's kind of, it's fun, but him pointing a camera at you after they score, it's like,
that right there is how you get to seven, eight, maybe nine wins, buddy.
That's, uh, this is not the game they lose.
This is a game they went on the way to disappointing me.
Yeah. Overall, great.
I really thought, you know, they, again, they came out in the second half,
or just chucking it around,
scored on every possession initially.
And then after that really fortuitous timing on C.J. Stroud,
they had a third and three,
and now you get a nice Quinn and Williams sack.
Perfect time.
I think it was their second sack of the game.
The first one might have been like he was run out of bounds.
Yeah.
But he was two yards behind the line of scrimmage, so that's a sack.
But this one was also a sack.
So what, they double their sack total yesterday?
Still, they're now challenging last year's New York Jets,
looking for no interceptions for the season.
Small sample size, quarter of the season, though, almost.
Yeah, it's a small sample size, but I think they're now one of, like, three teams without one.
Really?
So it's not good.
And then you would have liked to see a nice dry, the thing I think, well, you tell me if I'm
It just feels like they still don't really have a handle on their running game.
Because there, they would have liked to, I think, eat a little bit of clock, right?
8.40 left in the game.
You're up 27 to 23.
In my head, it was like, well, don't even worry about clock.
Just score again.
And I think their head was like, let's worry about a little clock, see if we can eat some and they weren't able to.
Three and out.
a nice 65-yard punt by Bangor,
and that's what led to their drive
that ended with that trick play
and then the touchdown run.
Then they go up and then Dallas a great two-minute drive.
A fantastic, you know, wonderful.
That's, if they want to be the team that they want to be,
they're going to have to be able to pull out two-minute drives like that.
Yeah, I'd have to...
The Cowboy Run game has not been what it was last year.
They have not had the explosives.
They got a couple of them in that Baltimore game.
I guess they didn't, to my mind, have any yesterday.
Now, they are supposed to get Tyler Smith back soon.
That you release two guys that were with you all training camp.
And then you sign a guy you've never really heard of.
And he's like kind of looks kind of okay.
And doesn't that prove your old point of you never sign a contract to a second?
Like if you can pull a guy off the heap and he's busting out a 12-yard run or two,
As your backup?
Yeah, and I'm good for him, and I'm glad, no pun intended, that he was able to give him something.
But I do find myself thinking, man, if they just had like another Giovante, which I know that is, you just can't have those.
But he definitely looks tired at times.
Javante.
Yeah.
Well, yeah.
He'd like to have another watch.
Did they wear him out last year?
You know, did the year?
I think they're running it okay.
And I think the explosives will come.
And I also think they've treaded water with Tyler.
Smith out. Now Jerry says he might be back
like now. Well, that was
the original idea. Four?
Yeah.
Rocked field goal again.
The first one in the other game was definitely
not his fault. That one I feel like
probably the same thing, but I
it's a little... 62 yard.
Then he missed the 65 yard.
It looked like his plant foot
slipped, but we'll talk to him tomorrow about that, of course.
And then in the field
that he made the 39-yarder.
Did he make another one later?
I feel like he did, because I heard Shottie say his name twice, yeah.
Oh, you did the post-game thing, locker room?
Yeah, I did.
He made a 50, but when he made that 39-yarder, they said,
here's a couple things they said on the broadcast.
I think they said he made, that's his 44th straight make from inside the 50.
And now I didn't yell at Claude, but I talked to Claude a little bit.
And Claude informed me that that would be the fourth all-time.
44 straight under 50.
Trailing Matt Bryant, Ryan Sukkopp.
Matt Bryant had 46, suck-up 56.
And then former cowboy when he was with the Patriots,
Nick Folk, 64 straight fuel goals inside the 50.
So Brandon still has some work to do on that.
You'd be careful yelling at Claude, bro.
Well, I have to because it doesn't give me the information initially, and then you yell at it.
It's like, oh, I'm sorry.
They're trying to get the Pope to give it a soul.
I searched more now.
It's like, wait, what if you search more the first time I ask?
I don't have to.
Like a shitty intern.
Claude is like my kid.
Yeah.
It's like, why don't you tell me when the job's done?
I just.
What about that?
Let's see.
Any other notes from the game you want to get to?
I'm sure there's stuff that will come up over the next couple of days.
You're going to talk about his Dax throw along the sideline?
That was a...
I don't know if we call it a piss missile, but it was incredible.
Which one?
Threading it between the defensive backs?
Yeah.
It's a very similar shot as last week,
but for some reason last week's got a lot more praise than this one.
I thought it was equally as good.
Was that on the final drive?
Yeah, with a minute 12 left.
That's insane.
Yeah.
Oh, here's my other thing they mentioned on the broadcast.
Did you hear Kenny say that...
God, that's a throw.
Say that Joey Porter Jr. has never given up a touchdown?
No.
I did the condensed on the rewatch, but no, I did not hear that.
I hate those stats.
Like, it was like, yeah, he's at 600-some whatever coverages and never given up.
That sounds hard to believe.
But I didn't ask Claude about it, and I didn't follow up.
up at all. But anyway.
Did you see Joy Porter at the game?
Just get your picture with him.
The dad?
Yeah.
No.
I did not.
Oh, yeah.
Was he drawing attention to himself?
He was just recording himself saying it's good to be back and he's mad at the Steelers.
And he was...
Is he giant?
Joy Porter?
Yeah.
Yeah.
What do you mean like that?
No, he's just, I remember he was just the scariest fucking game.
He's still scary.
Yeah.
Like his son's body doesn't make any sense to me.
He's just yelling weed him.
boys. He's all about it. Now, I'll tell you this, there was an individual, a few rows in front of us,
really his lucky weekend, because he was wearing a 24 Steelers Porter, Jersey jersey.
I'm like, how did you just have this? You're a Steelers fan, you're just a JPJ fan who lives in
town and the Cowboys happen to trade him here and you were like, well, my favorite football player
happened to be in Houston, so I'll head on out.
Yeah, that's your bit.
Looking for jerseys, right?
Well, when you're the Texans, you're going to see some weird ones, you know?
They don't have the same history.
I got a bunch of stuff from the other games, but we can do that tomorrow.
Okay. News?
Sure.

Here's Jane with the Dumb Zone News.
News, news, news, news, news, news, news, news.
Okay, I'm going to start with a story from the world of sports.
Actually, first of all, I've got another one for the world of sports.
This guy's name's Julius Kim, and he's Romo's lawyer.
Did you see his statement?
No.
He just said, I've been hush-hush about this the past few months as I was representing Tony.
Now that this matter has been resolved, I'll say that I've represented many, many people who have made poor decisions,
and I can't say that all of them see the air of their ways and work to grow from the experience.
Tony handled this matter seriously, with class, and with dignity,
and I know he'll be an even better person from all of this.
So there's that part.
We're going to go down to Texas A&M.
I don't think he needed to tell me that.
I saw it.
I feel like Tony's been, right?
Not sure.
Maybe he's some kind of a lawyer that people were asking him,
hey, what do you think about this?
What do you think about this?
I don't know.
I just thought they might get rid of him because of his contract
and because they don't like the way he does his job and all that kind of stuff.
But as far as DWIs and videos you've seen, like think of Johnny Damon, think, you know,
like there's a lot, lot, lot worse out there.
Like, he was a fine gentleman.
He didn't offer him, what did Ed Bell for once offered a guy, like $500 million or something?
Yeah.
Offered a cop to get out of it.
Yeah.
Romo was just kind of like resigned.
Like, ah, damn it.
I'm just going to Grandpa's house.
He didn't call her sugar tits like Mel Gibson did.
Yeah, no, didn't slander some kind of a race or group of people or anything.
Right.
Well, speaking of the sports world and body camp footage,
Texas A&M was hosting Arkansas Saturday night or Saturday.
They had a, they had their, like, military uniforms on.
I don't even, I don't want to do it today.
But.
Come on.
So there's a, there's this thing that's been happening.
We've been tracking it closely here on the dumb zone.
We see this now, not only in college sports and high school sports, but in junior high
sports as well.
This is influencers and content creators showing up.
at sporting events.
So we've got
the Wall Street Journal article
called like the Pajama Mafia,
which is the way that these old coaches
and administrators refer to this
cadre of kids in pajama pants
with $1,000 cameras
that have been hired by parents
or by recruiting services
or by those two things
being the same thing in one.
And they're everywhere.
And then I showed you guys video
and audio of a streamer,
Eli,
Mac. It's got a few million
subscribers, and he's just
documenting Lovejoy,
a Lovejoy middle school's football season.
Arnaud Lovejoy this week.
I
can't wait to see the video.
He went to a Denton Guy or
Waxahatchee game,
and spelled Waxahatchee
totally wrong in the YouTube
title, but it was like,
this is the greatest high school football
game of all time.
Is Waxahatchee spelled wrong? Part of the game.
like now you can get the engagement of all the people telling you that you spelled it wrong
I'm gonna take a nap instead is that an option on this test
there's a guy named Ben the Dawn
he's been the dawn Dan if you don't know he's been the dawn
and he's got a million followers on Instagram
he's got whatever dude it's what you think it is
he's 10,000 he's got 1.4 million
he's a rapper, he's a streamer.
So here's how his day started, okay?
Here's a video of him on the sideline at Texas A&M.
The audio I don't think is going to be that important here, Clayton,
as long as we can just kind of see.
Somehow, and I'd ask this question,
what happens when these guys run into football programs?
This is not the AAU.
This is not college basketball.
This is still football.
So here he is on the sideline with his token douche white friend.
He's dancing, he's going crazy.
A&M just scored.
He's just screaming.
Life is good, man.
I'm an influencer.
I'm here on the sideline at a college football program,
which, again, I will remind you as a state institution with real laws and real accountability.
The next video is apparently some players told him, you're good in the locker room.
Come on in.
You've got this pass.
Bring your team in.
And it will start.
I don't know.
We might need all.
audio on this one just so you can kind of get the flavor.
But he is being removed from the locker room.
And there's a guy who looks like, because if you're A&M, you don't have one strength
and conditioning coach.
You've got five, ten guys who look like that.
And all of them would like you to make their fucking day.
Also, like if they're dreaming.
Every single guy with that hat and that face.
Also, just because the fourth string receiver told you you're good doesn't mean you can
come in here.
Yeah.
And these players, you know...
Oh, shut up.
Hey, guys, guys!
Guys!
Hey!
Now he's in the locker room with a camera with an umbrella on it.
An umbrella light.
What's up, brother?
Yeah.
Don't give a one.
Y'all players brought me in there.
You got a whole...
We got a whole lamp on top of our...
On top of our camera, bro.
You know the old, what's the line?
Southern folk, don't be wanting you in there.
We go no light.
It's a southern thing.
It's a southern thing.
So what we're seeing here is
the downstream effect of a lot of
different stuff going on. One,
the transient nature of college football.
Because if you're only like,
I'm hitting a lick at this school for seven months
and I'm going somewhere else, you don't care
what they think of you. If you're
like, I might get to play in three
years. If I
I really, really grind my balls
off, I can be an SEC safety
by my junior year, you're
not bringing Ben Da Dom into the locker room and telling him he's good, right?
There's just a lot going on here.
And at the end of the day...
Ben the Don is, as you know, right?
When you get kicked out of a locker room, there's nothing better than that.
That's good for you.
That is good for you.
The video's great.
That is good for you.
You can walk out being like, I don't give a shit.
You would rather have that almost.
Now, after that, I think the night continued, if I had to guess, over at Northgate,
which is, I think, like, the apartment area over there,
although this might be a bar.
In any case, he was not done after being kicked out of the locker room
because now it's time to go party.
He's a streamer.
He's there to give you the vibe of College Station on a Saturday night,
big-time college football.
Here's how his night ended.
Has Ben the Don is, you can see with one of his associates being tased.
Oh.
I guess this is the best engagement of all, right?
The time is 121 a.m. on the phone screen that is filming here.
Keep recording, boys.
Yeah.
Gotta keep rolling.
Yeah, so.
Yeah, Ben the Don.
Would rather his intern got tased.
They pull him off at one point.
Ben Dudan, sorry.
Yeah.
Yeah, and I think he put out a video today kind of like,
Yeah, I don't know, maybe saying what happened, this came out during our show.
It's a tasing.
Yeah.
That's probably enough.
You get the idea.
Do you still have it up?
Is this the end?
They pulled them up.
And I've been feeling just fine.
Like, you don't need taste of this music.
Oh, my God, dude.
And the flag, yeah, that's great.
Okay, I'm sorry.
No.
I just thought that was funny.
Just like Chappelle.
want your ass beat to the soundtrack.
It's just much like when we see the documentaries now and we have so much.
If you're a person who documents everything you do, like if you have a rough moment at the end of it, we've got the narrative.
We got the beginning.
We got the, ah, look at me.
I'm at A&M.
This is awesome.
Everyone's so cool to me.
Then we get a little bit, oh, I don't know.
Maybe they're not as cool as I thought.
And in the end, ah!
Like, in the old days, I don't know what this guy.
was doing before he got tased now i know what he did that there's 20 more videos of this guy
throughout the day at a and m just walking around talking start yeah that's kind of a uh
started out super positive yeah it really did on the sideline it really did um
the state of texas ranks seventh yeah in uf so uh oafo sightings per
capital.
So this is not one we're just being
popular state.
Per person, we have more sighting.
This is from 1974 to
2025 state yet. A lot of land.
Yeah, there's nothing like it.
I was pretty freaked out about this
when I was a kid. And a lot of it
was because we had to go, not had to, I liked it
some of the time, but my grandparents lived on a farm.
And they lived out in the country.
obviously, not one of your urban farms.
And it felt like that's where the, like, that's where aliens would be.
They would be out in fields, crop circles.
They had these huge, like, floodlights on their property that felt alien-y to me.
They were out near Aurora, which had a number of, I don't know.
I was going to say confirmed sightings, but, like, reported UFO sightings and, like,
supernatural type.
There's a lot of people on meth and a lot of land.
So a lot of weird shit happens out there.
People like, I saw the Moth Man.
But I was,
I was really, for the guy who took the space
his super gay turn, I never really
conflated those two things as one to me.
Like, I would go,
I mean, there's a guy named Jim Mars.
There's no way that's his real name.
Probably a gnome de plume.
But he was from Texas.
And he was like a,
he wrote a,
lot on JFK. He's a conspiracy guy. But he also wrote a lot of stuff about shit that's like
fairly mainstream now, like Alex Jonesy type stuff. And he was really into aliens. And I was really
into him. But it never seemed the same to me as the kid who had like a solar system lunchbox.
But in any case, Texas, a UFO haven. Or I mean, maybe UFO is offensive. I think they're
UAPs now.
Yeah, from Fort Worth.
Jim Mars, it might be his real name.
He used to speak at UTA.
That'd be wild.
A former Stephen Vale,
Stevenvale businessman
will do 13 years in prison
for some white-collar crime.
This is a fraudulent scheme.
It's a loan program.
Hey, loan me some money.
I'll invest in these programs.
They don't exist, but that's cool.
So, as part of his restitution, he has to give up 90 collector vehicles that he purchased.
They're about to have an auction.
I'm sorry that I missed the beginning.
Who is this?
A businessman at Stephenville.
This happened in Fort Worth Court.
Just some white-collar crime.
But when it comes to, you know, don't buy a fur coat or whatever.
Yeah.
He went over 90 exotic collector cars, which will be sold at auction for his rest of the two.
A 2012 Lamborghini model A, I don't know.
It was not flying under the radar.
Not at all.
Not at all.
Though that's pretty sick, though, because if you get caught, they have stuff to just sell and pay off for you.
If you just spend it all.
Yeah.
Thinking ahead.
Yeah, this guy's great.
Arlington police are searching for a male that they say attempted to film up a teenage girl's skirt before evading officers.
It doesn't say what store.
Attempted.
Yeah.
It says they have a photo.
Attempted to angle a recording device to film a teenage girl at a store.
and was alerted by the staff.
Back in my day, you had to get a little tiny mirror
and then somehow tape it to your shoe.
And then you just had to use your memory.
If you were able to get that little...
Just to catch a little glimpse.
A look of lip?
Well, no, it didn't even have to have that.
It could be covered.
It could be underwear, some panties.
Kind of panties.
And then you had to use your imagination, you know, back then.
and what you imagined was way better than what it actually ended up being
sure yeah it's a scary place down there
a woman who had been missing from Colorado
has been identified as the victim in a homicide investigation
in Amarillo on October 1st
authorities received a call that
a woman from Colorado had been shot at a property
in Amarillo.
Following an incident inside a vehicle,
they respond, and they find a body that had been burned.
Hmm.
Do you use dental records?
A burial site behind a detached garage.
Yeah, what happens when I get new teeth?
Dental records.
Can they still...
That's how they identify the burned body.
But what about with Steveo and Steveo dies in a fire?
I think new teeth come with a serial number.
They probably...
I don't let them.
I don't let my dentist do the imprint of my teeth or take any x-rays.
Why?
Because he's got to stay on one step ahead, man.
Yeah.
Dude, you just told me this weekend, too, you can tell he's been lifting.
He had to register both those arms.
Oh, yeah?
That's right.
Deadly weapons, yeah.
That's the reason I won't do that either.
Did you get bossed in the woodlands?
I did get boss over the weekend.
Yeah, it's weird.
No, it was at the hotel we were at.
Oh, okay.
It's by the front desk guy knew he belonged there more than we did.
Oh, my gosh, yeah.
So he bossed me.
He had an earring and it looked like he was into it.
Would you win a contest to get to stay here?
God, you.
When I'm like, can I see the charges?
Like, you don't go to that hotel and then ask for the charges.
No.
You just pay.
Legitimately, that might be a hotel.
Because you had the money just to pay for whatever.
I never did it.
I'm like, can I see the breakdown?
Not sure.
But that might be a hotel where you could walk in and throw the keys and someone would just catch it.
Like out front.
There was a hundred guys out there just trying to grab your bag.
Can I close this trunk?
Can I do this?
Can I?
It's like, all right.
It's great, I guess.
You know, you want to be served.
Yeah.
I'm more of a solo.
Lone Wolf type.
Yeah.
This is becoming more and more of a factor in everybody's world.
A police officer in Lufkin was sentenced to five years in prison.
He pled guilty to over 100 counts of misuse of the flock cameras.
Oh, yeah.
Pointing them upskirts?
Yeah, he had a...
What was he doing?
Just spying on people?
This story doesn't say, but that's...
is what most of these have been a
you know it's a girlfriend
thing or an ex
but I don't even want this
I don't even want to be near it yeah it says
some of them were an ex-girlfriend
some were family members a lot of them were her family members
people she dated
he's just crazy but every single day
he can go log in and just
kind of see who was at her apartment
last night
damn that's
your honor I'm in love
Have you ever been in love?
Let's put this whole system on trial.
And then my final story, I saw this over the weekend.
Galveston, down in Galveston.
They are, no pun intended here, rolling out through their coastal management program.
Like carpet slash mats for wheelchairs.
that people in wheelchairs can get on the beach too.
And like everybody's got a joke about gay marriage
where it's like, you guys don't know that this sucks.
But let me just tell you,
everyone who tells you the beach is good.
Take your W.
We're dealing with a lot of not good to get there.
Like, you're not missing it,
especially if you're going to be having to wheel around on these,
like, there's these mats that they're,
it just feels very parks and wrecked to me
without ever seeing the show.
That they're like, this is certainly something someone would want.
What are they missing, folks?
The beach on their wheelchair.
If only they could just get the sand in their gears.
And they do like this big rollout, again, no pun.
And it's like, I just wonder how much of a need there is, really, you know?
Yeah, did God intend this?
Wouldn't have made the wheelchairs different.
I just, I don't know.
It doesn't seem.
These are going up all over the state.
Do we got to let them swim too now?
Well, they can't feel the sand on their toes.
They feel little ramps on them.
Yeah, you'll see these all over the coast starting now.
All right, well, shout out to Ben De Dom.
And there's your Dumb Zone News.

Dear Dan Dan the Poonanny Man.
That's you.
To wish happy brother to my brother Boyd.
Happy birthday to my brother Boyd.
It is his Dirk plus Jha Pickens' birthday.
Jha.
He is the dumb zone dentist from Napa.
And apparently he knows about teeth and wine.
as Jake said recently
if your name is Boyd and you became a dentist
you have done way better than everyone was expecting
that's smart guy said that
we cannot stop laughing at that
good times
his leader emeritus is Mike Reiner
his leaders are the drop of Dan saying
well fading Chappie's lock of the week
and Blake punishing his toddler son
Brooks for his meltdown in front of Santa.
Baby arm and no puppet from Clark.
Hello, Daniel. I'm sending this email to wish myself a happy Hollywood Henderson birthday.
I handed sent it to myself because I've been married for five effing years.
I was married for two fucking years.
Hold on a minute.
What?
Married for five years.
Got married at 51?
It's 56-year-old dude.
I feel like that's the reason you get married again in your 50s, bud.
It might be time for number three.
Let's do the math here.
He said Hollywood Henderson.
Right.
And he married.
He sent it himself because he's been married for five years.
All the listeners we're running into, it seems like, to me, who are on their second marriage.
Those guys are, like, falling asleep.
Their balls are so empty.
They're just constantly having sex.
My leaders are geo-fencing Jake.
Good for them.
Blake's acting skills.
No doubt.
Dan's travel shirts
and Brett McQuay's
Miller Brewing Company personalized tours.
Oh, yeah.
Good dude.
I'm wearing the shirt today, actually, right now.
Keep cranking hog and never punt.
This is from Rob Schindler.
We've met his wife, right?
Yeah.
I think they were...
I think they were boning all the time.
He informed us.
Yeah.
Okay.
Things are going good there.
I like my buddies to tell me how much they're boning.
Definitely.
dude.
Yeah, tell me kind of how you did it.
That's why we're so mad at Henry.
He should just be slaying.
Look at him.
He's just sitting there.
Henry thought the Bruce Ariens clip was real.
That came up Friday night when we were shooting.
Oh, after the show, he thought of, yes.
Oh, yeah.
Oh, yeah.
Now I know I didn't get clip for so.
He was just like, what did she say to that?
Does that work with a girl?
Henry, that was fake.
And finally, I have Stephen writes,
Jents, I'm writing to you from the hospital
where we recently welcomed our new
son. In an
ultimate act of devotion to the beehive,
we named him Brooks.
Wow. And then you disciplined
him. The doctor
was explaining...
Called the doctor a homo.
The doctor was explaining the importance
and benefits of skin-to-skin contact
with the mother and father. He just wanted
to see your nipples, homo.
I said, let me stop you right there.
Chief. The producer of my
favorite local recreation podcast said it's really gay, so no thank you.
Yeah, but I'll be good, all right?
Yeah, we're fine.
Yeah.
Why don't you go get another degree?
We'll be in here.
Looking forward to racking up yardage over the next few weeks as friends and family bring us food and door dash gift cards.
Oh, my God.
You are in the green.
Dude.
My.
From Denton, D.F. number 21, Stephen.
You give me a Door Dash gift card, and I start coaching.
the way Shottie or every Cowboys coach should coach.
I'll do shit on there that you, like, you would not believe the combo orders I will do if I get a gift card.
Freezing stuff, big for the baby, too, my man.
Make some soups.
When you had kids 20 years ago like me, you'd only get like a casserole.
Yeah.
Like some food I would not want to eat.
But it was a nice gesture, I suppose.
But, yeah.
What's a casserole?
Is it just the bus?
bunch of stuff you had left over put together in a pan. It's the 80s in the 90s.
Gross. And you cover it with foil. Yeah. It's somehow when we had women start working,
they got better at cooking. I don't know what it, what it is, because they started in the 80s and 90s,
and food in the 80s and 90s was fucking dog shit, and everyone knows it. And it only started getting
better once they started working. I don't know why. It's the internet. It is the internet,
for sure. And if you notice, not just women, most your top cooks.
Leave that to the fellas
We call them chefs
Yes, chef

we already had an air conditioning unit here. So they just come over here for the preventive maintenance.
But they had to actually wire something up for you. Yeah, I got the mini split done. So if you're doing

good people today is Monday October 5th on this day in 1994 this totally escaped me this whole
story this three years escape me the NBA shortened a three point line to 22 feet around the
entire basket.
So what, now it's 23 feet, 9 inches at the top, and it tapers down to 22 feet.
But for three years, they shortened it.
And yeah, abandoned this at the beginning of the 97-98 season.
So, and I even saw some splits like on Jordan's three-point numbers.
Like he was 40% during those three years, but 33%.
everywhere else in his life.
He was never a big three-point shooter.
And I guess the whole league wasn't, right?
I got to look into this.
I'm interested.
Yeah.
Like, did volume go up and up?
I'm curious.
I wonder, it's, are you aware of this?
How did this escape me?
I think it was high.
That three years.
You're reading casserole.
On this day in 2007, U.S. sprinter Marion Jones
admitted that she took steroids
to enhance her track performance.
She might have been on Oprah when she did it.
Anyway, she had won five medals during the 2000 Olympic Games, three of them gold,
but she had to forfeit those medals.
And three famous weddings on this date.
Let's give them to you in this order.
I'll start with 2004, Tiger Woods, Mary's Swedish model, Ellen Nordgren.
Do you, Tiger Go to be a cheating on the wheel?
I'll go back to 1945, actress Janet Lee.
She would eventually be the mother of Jamie Lee Curtis.
But at this point, 1945, she's 18 years old and she gets married to a 21-year-old.
Okay.
Look at that.
It's her second marriage.
Oh.
Her first was when she was 14.
We don't like that.
Jerry Lee Lewis?
to a 70-year-old.
Oh, my God.
I'm joking.
It was a 17-year-old.
So she was age-appropriate, at least for her first two marriages.
And then they didn't work out.
Did she have a pain?
Jamie Lee Curtis did.
She got her from somewhere.
I don't know of all her kids had pains.
And on this day, in 1989, so this is our Dumb Zone wedding of the day.
All right.
Randy Quaid marries
Evie Motelanez.
Is that the lady from the video?
They would later star together in a sex tape.
There's no way that it's the lady from the video.
They stayed together.
Are he serious?
Yes, since 1989, she is now wearing Rupert Murdoch masks.
That's insane.
That's insane.
...hammed from behind by same husband, Randy Quaid.
As he yells basically the line from independent
Day.
Eyes.
I think that was the most shocked I'd ever been on the show.
That's fair.
October 5th, this day in Dumb Zone history.
In 2020, the Cowboys had just lost to the Browns at home.
And we were doing the computer minute, and he said he thought Mike McCarthy was a spy for Green Bay.
Nothing was implausible at that time.
I thought that was funny.
In 2022, Jake wants a real thing.
reason to have his voice protected.
What do you mean from AI?
No.
Like he's on the news and he's just a shadow and his voice is altered.
Yeah.
He's talking about somebody and he wants his identity protected.
There was a lot of blood back in those days.
Gangland, you know?
And then in 2021...
Then they said they would offer us three months, no spots.
Yeah.
You guys went to see
Pulaski versus Argyle Liberty Christian
Oh yeah
Kevin Kelly versus Jason Witten
That was hilarious to watch Witten
This says Witten is intense
Yeah but he also was like
What am I seeing here?
Because they were down by 30 within 20 minutes
Right like
Pulaski was just onside kicking
Fourth and eight from their own 20
they're going for it.
Yeah.
And then they would get it.
And Witten would be beside himself.
Like, hey, this is not football.
What are we doing here?
We had caveman seeing fire, dude.
It was awesome.
Smoke coming out of his ears.
And then his team would successfully recover their own kickoff that they're receiving
and cheer.
It's like, you just have the ball now.
Right.
You're down 21-0 and are touching the ball.
Defensively, where they just blitzing.
everyone every play. They do a lot.
They do a lot. It was fun. It was a fun game to go to.
They very rarely have like full down linemen.
Friday night football games are fun.
Oh my God.
Y'all went with Jubb.
So good.
The de facto mayor of Argyll.
Love it. And they know it too.
All right. Elsewhere today we have birthdays.
Barry Switzer, 89.
Good friend of mine.
Once offered to prank Corby back with me, called me after the show.
He's, though, unlike you guys, only guy who's ever recognized me as an athlete.
The three of us walked into his house.
So you got so wasted.
Yeah.
You passed out at Barry Switzer's house.
And then Corby later told you, dude, you broke his trophy case or something.
Yeah.
You were so wasted that plausibly you could believe that you did it.
you can't remember a thing.
Yeah, it was Barry Switzer's house,
and then his daughter lives across the street.
And they both live, like, across the street from campus.
And I've told this story before,
but when coach dropped me and Corby,
and I believe fits off,
he's driving like an old, not like a Lincoln,
but just an old car, long car.
And he's pulling up.
I mean, every, there's, you can't drive on campus.
It's game day.
But there's somebody at a roadblock,
and he's like, I'm going through.
And they're like, okay, coach.
And then he just did that like five more times that we were in front of the stadium.
He just does whatever he wants.
And he's like, y'all get out.
That's great.
You know, I just got out of the back of Barry's car in front of the stadium.
And then afterward, it's a party, dude.
They party hard.
And I was sitting in a chair and was like, yeah, I'd like to go home.
I'm just going to sleep here until it's time to go.
And then I woke up and I was in the car.
And they were like, dude, remember that trophy case we saw in his office?
Super Bowl?
They're like, you fell through it.
And they were rolling.
As I was like, no.
No way.
No.
And that is how we ended up convincing Dirk to get involved in a prank
that got Corby so nervous that he developed shingles.
It's good times.
Involving Schindler's list.
They were like,
like on a flight or something, and Dirk said something like,
yeah, I mean, it's not like you're going to pull up Schindler's list or something.
Corby said that to Dirk.
And Dirk kind of laughed.
And then after the interview, we were like,
we're going to have you act like you were real mad about that.
And he played completely along with it through Brian DeMaris.
Corby got shingles.
He was laughing now.
Very, uh, Taylor, or no, what's the kid's name?
Teneman, who eats his parents.
I don't know.
In South Park.
Scott Tenerman.
Oh.
The prank that goes wrong.
Alexei Ogondo is 43.
My favorite Ranger pitcher.
He used to have a lot of sex.
Fun, fun eighth inning guy, right?
Yeah.
Had sex, huh?
Yep.
Huh.
How do you know that?
Never heard that about Alexi Ogando?
Because I used to do a Sunday morning show across the street from the W.
Oh.
In the peak of the range.
You're rolling out of there.
Mario Lemieux, 61.
Grant Hill is 54.
He is born in Dallas.
His dad is Calvin Hill, former Cleveland Brown.
Speaking of Cleveland, Travis Kelsey is 37.
He is from Cleveland.
That means Taylor Swift has been where probably hangs out, places I would hang out.
Ariel Castro's basement, maybe.
Yeah, well, that's where our Airbnb was.
Let me tell you who loves that wedding, Jim Nance.
Oh, my God.
What a summer they had, folks.
Did they invite him, of course, right?
I'm sure they did.
Along with, like, Dean Blandino or somebody, right?
Right.
Patrick Waugh, 61.
Bill James is 77.
Patrick Waugh got in a goalie fight, right?
I'm sure he did.
A couple of them.
Feels like that used to be more of a thing.
Dude, but that was such a, I mean, the West, Chris Osgood, Waugh.
Sackick.
But I just mean the goal is.
Oh, yeah, I was a big.
I love that avalanche team.
My friend, my cousin, who's a professional poker player now,
got a photograph in the locker room with the Stanley Cup, like, the night they wanted.
And he was, like, barely even a hockey fan.
I was the hugest hockey fan at that time.
I was fucking obsessed, and he showed up at Christmas.
He was like, yeah.
Good to get a picture with the cup.
We did a show.
once when the cup was rolling through like at some kind of a local gymnasium because they were
going to have the cup there and people could just get a picture with it so there was a line around
the block just to stand next to the actual Stanley cup and get your picture taken with it
I feel like a few things break differently and I'm doing that just to say I did where was I
Bill James the great Bill James awesome murder and baseball Bonnie Bryant is 83 if still a
I didn't even search her this morning.
Sometimes I follow up on these.
But her, she's a golfer.
She's the only golfer, Jake, to win an LPGA event on her period.
Left-handed.
There's only been one left-handed winner on the LPGA, which seems wrong.
It doesn't seem wrong.
It seems interesting, right?
Like, are they skewing more?
I thought Michelle McGahn.
It might have been left-handed.
How do I know Michelle McGahn?
I don't.
Whatever you just did was really weird.
No, that's just interesting to me because...
I assume, what, 10 to 20% of the men's wins are by lefties, or is that crazy?
I think that's crazy.
There's not that many lefties.
Oh, really?
Don't you think, Blake, am I wrong?
Let's see.
McGahn has seven LPGA career victories.
Is she lefty?
That's the thing I don't know.
She's diabetic.
I don't know where that's in here.
She used to wear hats.
Oh, I'm seeing her dad was the Groupon guy.
For real?
Are you joking here?
No.
Okay.
Oh, no.
Here's a picture of her swinging right hand.
Yeah.
It's the only, I once interviewed a LPGA golfer.
I only know.
It was like the biggest thing in Youngstown that year was going to be an LPGA event.
They were like, holy.
What did you do?
talk to her about.
Her crazy hats.
I did an appearance at a golf store one time where they had.
It was her name Lexi Thompson, Blake.
She was a big-time golfer.
She could drive it really far.
And my call-ins were like, come on out.
See if you can out-drive Lexi Thompson, and you'll win a $100 gift card to Golf Planet or whatever.
Oh, nice.
And, you know, those girls are coming out there, like trying it.
She was like a big hero, taking pictures.
Some dude walked in there and flip-flops and, like, bombed it, like,
350 and just walked out.
They're like,
give card, he's like, I don't need...
He just wanted to show everybody.
Just embarrassed.
I mean...
Didn't swing, didn't warm up.
Didn't even swing it to halt.
It just like, pooh.
It's like, all right.
Hey, Jake.
I was like, hey, dude.
Steve Miller is 83.
Wee.
Wee.
Singer Brian Johnson is 79.
That's ACDC.
Hell yeah.
Hell yeah.
We can just get a little more of that high tone, high class.
Love ACDC.
And went to the Houston Philharmonic.
Yep.
Or whatever, symphony.
Is there a difference between a Philharmonic and a symphony?
Wrong guy.
It's just very funny that the cowboy cheerleaders literally,
their exclamation point is.
Yeah!
Brad's like, come on.
Yeah, that's more like it.
Jesus, have a little decorum.
Yeah, Bun B, instrumentals going.
Actress Karen Allen is 75.
Let's get Angus Young back in here to class to join up.
Who?
From Indiana Jones.
Karen Allen.
All right.
George Zimmerman is 43.
The guy that shot Trayvon.
He guaranteed it.
He was looking at his name today.
he has Little Man syndrome, huh?
He was like 5-8.
Big time.
I don't know.
Do you have to be below six foot to do Neighborhood Watch?
I was going to say, this is not going to be a bunch of starting pitchers.
You're walking around, do a neighborhood watch.
What are you doing?
Neil deGrasse Tyson is 68.
Beating.
Space.
Just interesting, what do you call, word association,
just to hear both of your first,
both of your first words.
I can't stand.
The guy makes me want to believe in God.
Actor Daniel Baldwin is 66.
Which one is he?
Kate Winslet is 51.
Man.
Young Blake, bad beats.
Jesse Eisenberg is 43.
He's good.
Nikki Hilton is 43.
Dan.
Never saw her tape.
Oh, I thought she was in that show.
Saw her sisters.
Her sister was in that show.
Oh, yeah.
Okay.
Nicole, Ritchie, Nikki Hill.
Okay.
No, this lady is, like, successful somehow.
Oh.
Nikki Hilton?
Ha!
Ha! Ha! Ha!
I know how!
She's Paris Hilton's sister.
Yeah, but she's not just Paris Hilton's sister.
She's married to James Rothschild.
Who's that?
He's a Rothschild.
Are they...
Is that, like, a Rockefeller?
Rockefeller?
Yeah.
That's just awesome.
Good for them.
We also have Bob Geldof.
So some music birthdays right now.
Bob Geldof, this is for me.
He's 75.
He played Pink in Pink Floyd the Wall.
You ever watched that movie?
Tried, man.
Just not for me.
The music's not for me.
You, Blake?
Mm-mm.
Maybe I should give that to Henry.
Make Henry watch that movie.
give us a report.
Big stoner movie.
And if your stoner age was mine.
We have other music birthdays.
We have James Valentine as 48, Jake.
Maroon 5.
And I know you'll be excited about Paul Thomas is 46 from Good Charlotte.
I did have a dalliance with Good Charlotte for sure.
I don't know about Maroon 5.
I think
I just enjoy your game
And this one might be for Blake
Merrin 5 or not
Or not, yeah
This might be for Blake
Morgan Webb is 48
Yeah that's definitely for me
There used to be a video game channel
And she was a host on one of them
And she was an emo hot
Talking about video games
They knew what they were doing here
G4
Yes
It was called attack on the show
My God
And just get them, it's extremely mid.
She's into the same stuff you are, dude.
She plays gears of war.
Yeah, she's not extremely hot, but she's, you can see, though, if you're a gamer and you're like, she's a gamer too.
They gothered her up a little bit and put her in low-waist jeans.
Yep.
And do we have a Henry birthday of the day?
Henry is our intern.
I do, Mr. Dan.
Let's keep it with the music birthdays.
And not only do we have a rapper, we have a local rapper.
She is Erica Banks.
She is 28.
And she is known for these classics.
Buss it?
On his face.
Toot that.
Real rap bitch.
And no love she mix 2.0.
How do I not know about her?
I'd like to.
From DeSoto.
Booker.
Bus it.
Dumb's on birthday today.
I will award this one to
Melrose Place's
Josie Bissette
That's a 90s name
Is 56
If Blake had a
Kate Winslet
I might have had a Josie Bissette
Born on this day now dead
She's great
Thanks
Yeah
Good taste
Favit
Bernie Mac
I'm telling you guys
And Bill Wirt
they would call him dollar bill words
because he was the Blackhawks owner
and would not spend money on the team
and took them off TV
and it was a very dark time
and then he died and then all of a sudden
they were like good and they start winning championships
Blake next time you're on the road
watch the original Kings of Comedy
you probably have
back in the day yeah
Bernie Max said and that is
hold on I'm going to mark that down again
because I need to do it.
So good.
You've said it so many times.
I will issue the same warning I did those other times.
What?
I won't like it.
There's a D.L. Hughley set.
Okay.
I think it's actually fine, but I know where you're coming from.
Personal.
I know.
And then honestly, that's where my hatred comes from.
He's going to be a dick to you in Cleveland 35 years ago.
Yeah.
He can suck my nuts.
He slept with my wife.
Sorry, me too.
What are you to tell you?
Dead on this day is still dead.
We have Roland Garros.
It's a person.
I never knew that.
He was a French fighter pilot,
and they named their tennis stadium after him.
That's pretty kick-ass.
Yeah.
My heroes don't die at the age of 29,
but I guess in World War I get it.
And money's awesome.
I'm sure planes weren't like real safe in World War.
He probably barely got it up in the air.
You don't want to be anti-money guy, but if AT&T Stadium were called like the Davy Crockett grounds or something, that would be cooler.
Heroes.
Also dead on this day, Earl Tupper.
Invented Tupperware.
Boy, you would have had a field day at the press box yesterday.
Rodney Dangerfield.
And died on this day in 2011, Steve Jobs.
And that's what happened.
On this day.
It would never allow all these updates to...
I think he'd be alive if he just took aspirin.
It did seem that he denounced modern medicine
and kind of the way that he was able to will his workers
to get some kind of a project over the finish line.
He thought he could just will that cancer out of his body.
And apparently that didn't work.
I think that's because he wasn't a sports fan
because if you think about it,
you would have become very aware
that you can't just will stuff, right?
I mean, when you're a kid,
how many times you close your eyes
when you were like eight and be like,
I'll be good, I swear to God,
just let them complete this.
Yeah.
You have no shot, Steve.
So closing remarks,
this is brought to us by
Frankl and Frankel,
personal injury attorneys.
If you're driving in bad weather
like we were this weekend,
I saw a number of accidents and thought, I hope they've got a three on their phone.
Because their phone number is 214 and then dial all threes.
4817 and then dial all threes.
Yeah.
It's either way.
Good dudes.
Spread the words.
Spread the words.
And like I said earlier, they don't, they're not dressed up in the cowboy hats or on a bull or on a rocket or they're not the Texas.
machine gun or whatever.
They don't have to do bits.
Their bit is getting you what you deserve,
fighting the insurance companies.
It's kind of like my thought on the,
I don't want Patch Adams as my doctor.
You know,
I don't want a clown nose.
I don't want goofing off.
I want a guy who's buried in a book at night
learning about the next thing,
how to, you know, attack cancer cells.
And that's kind of what the Frankles are like.
You know what?
They're buried in the law books.
They're trying to figure out what,
how best to get you the money that you deserve.
So check them out,
franklefirm.com and the phone number, of course.
You can't forget that.
And I wanted to mention here in closing remarks,
because I have an idea for a new bit,
and then we have to follow up on something
that we've been very lax on.
And the lax thing,
and then I'll mention the idea,
it'll go hand in hand.
We've been lax on our quarterly business review
meeting with our VIP subscribers.
Every three months, we will have a Zoom meeting
and we will kind of do like some brainstorming
and just kicking some stuff around.
And we've had great ideas out of come out of those things.
You know, that's really helped us with the summer event.
And the Christmas party, if you're in the, if you're in the, you know,
VIP, you get invited to our exclusive Christmas party.
That might be where a bowl, it might be at a bowling alley this year.
Who knows?
We'll see how that all works.
And we throw around different ideas like this one.
So I had this idea and I wanted to bounce it off of you guys.
And it can only work because I thought of a word that the alliteration.
It's a Tuesday treat.
Oh, I thought it was going to be Godfidence.
Oh, no, no, no.
I couldn't think of that.
Only one man could have thought of that word.
So a Tuesday treat, I was thinking,
It could be just something we tack on at the end of a Tuesday show.
We could promote it, or we could just tack it on, and you can choose to listen to it or not.
Like, it'll be after closing remarks, after your daughter tells us to like and subscribe, right?
But we just drop it there.
And the reason I thought of this is because I got to searching around some of the old archives we have,
and I came across the fact that we had Joe Rogan in studio in the early,
2000s before he was what you know is Joe Rogan.
There's a whole different person.
It's like Tom Brady's two sides of his career.
Like there's a whole different.
If you just got dropped into the earth in 2005 or 7 or whatever and you said the word
Joe Rogan, there's no way you would have predicted all of America will be following
this guy.
Moving the election?
He was just a guy like sea level.
Would you say?
Yeah, about that.
Do you think he got to B-level celebrity?
Fear factor might have been your B-level moment.
But he was a, you know, fourth or fifth guy on a comedy TV show, news radio.
I mean, he was good, but it wasn't like he was the star.
He could have been interchangeable right away.
You could have got someone else and somebody else would have done it.
The show would have been the same.
He was a stand-up, but never like, ah, that's Chris Rod.
Like, never huge.
He was just a stand-up.
And then he was, you know, the reason we had him, or excuse me, when we had him in,
he was just like doing the Addison Improv or something.
And it was right after he had busted Carlos Mencia on stage and called him Carlos Menstelia.
And it was, like, that's kind of all we talked to him about.
But to me, it's really interesting that he then became this phenomenon, this, like right now people are,
you have people wishing they could be Joe Rogan.
And there was nobody in 2005 that would have said,
man, I really would love to be Joe Rogan.
Like, that's the career path I want.
So my thought is, do we just drop that in at the end of an episode?
Is that something people would like to hear?
It's a paywalled episode, you know?
So it's just an extra special treat right after the, whatever.
This is an idea that I would throw out to the quarterly business review.
Now, I've had a couple people up my ass about that.
When are we going to do that?
Can't be this Thursday, right?
It's either a Monday or a Thursday.
And this Thursday we're doing the big game in Dallas?
Yeah.
So would you guarantee to the people that it's going to be soon?
Me?
You're the man.
What about next Tuesday?
It has to be a Monday or Thursday?
No, no, no.
I thought you said it had to be.
No, I have practiced then.
I was trying to get Monday or Thursday.
Okay.
What about a week from Thursday?
I think that works well.
All righty.
Locking it in?
Yep.
We got a big remote that day.
That'll be fun.
That's our...
What are we doing that?
Where are we going?
My girlfriends in Fort Worth.
You don't worry about it, dude.
Those are my friends.
By the way, last 30 years,
6% of PGA events have been worn by a left-hander.
Zero on the LPGA in the last 30 years.
Maybe that's right then.
I think it might be.
Their tiny brains can't figure out how to do it with the other hand.
Adios, mofo.
We've got to go before this becomes a zoo.
See you guys for drinks later.
Thank you for watching my video.
Subscribe and type for my name if you want to watch more of my video.
Hey, it's, uh, it's tight.
You can make you sleep?
Please.
Can you picture?
My wife.
Take your name off your phone.
Take your name.
Off your phone.
You got to do this for me.
Just tell you that's a number.
Your whole body's moving in.
Your sense is more height and everything seems to
feel better.
And you take your name
off your phone.
My wife is your phone
and my wife is your home.
Take your name.
Take your name off your phone.
You got it to do this for me.
Just have a nice of someone.
Take your name.
Off your phone.
I want to have to my phone.
I'm going to ask you my phone.
Take your name.
You got it in my phone.
Just have the last.
