Starting point is 00:00:00 Hello, I'm professional broadcaster Dan McDowell, letting you know that you were about to hear one of our free podcast. But if you'd like to subscribe at dumzone.com, you'll get four shows per week plus the weekend wrap-up and any bonus sods like our business Wednesday interviews. So if you forgot how to use the 15-second rewind, that's dumbzone.com to subscribe. Now, on to today's program. Hey, let's talk about the OG of our advertisers, Qualus Roofing. We are in my garage, high atop my garage right now, under a Qualis roof. It was so easy. You call for a free inspection or go to the website, sign up for a free inspection.
Starting point is 00:00:48 Then you'll get a Dumb Zone T-shirt. And then, if indeed you have damage, and I hadn't had my roof checked in many years, we had damage from, you know, hailstorms and whatnot over the years. They did it all through the insurance company. Like they set up the calls. They dealt with the waiting on hold. Whatever you have to do when you deal with an insurance company. Anyway, I got a new roof and all I paid is the deductible.
Starting point is 00:01:12 Could be money up there. 8175-009-008. That's how you get in contact with Qualis roofing. QualisGC.com. Schedule them today. QualisGC.com. When you need a roof on your home, they're the ones with the drum. Put a roof on the mother, put a roof on air
Starting point is 00:01:33 Quietly's gc.com Hello friends. Case of the Mondays. Dumbstone, I'm Dan McDowell. I'm Jake Kip. I'm Blake Jones. Voodie CK. And we are broadcasting live to tape
Starting point is 00:02:28 this morning slash afternoon. I'm going to get ahead of myself. I'll just say this morning. Who knows? We might not make it to the afternoon. What is time? But we are high atop my garage, under a qualous roof. The den, the dragon den of inequality, where it all started.
Starting point is 00:02:56 We are not in the Game Day Men's Health Studio. That's downtown. We do like GameDay.Dumzone.com, though. I want to start your week off right. If you had a rough weekend. Well, if you had a rough weekend, it's because you haven't been going to Game Day already, as you're indicating. Because when you're in the Game Day pipeline, and it's in your block. blood.
Starting point is 00:03:17 All the weekends are great. But they'll still accept you even if you haven't already regularly gone there. It's true. Getting a mix to win tickets to come watch a cowboy game with us. One of 17 wins. That's right. The watching parties will start. Is it a week from Sunday?
Starting point is 00:03:35 Correct. Yeah, a week from Sunday as the Cowboys will face, is it the Giants? Are they at Giants? The New York Football Giants. Someone sent us something. I think we're going to hang up for the cowboys. That is just tremendous. Watching parties.
Starting point is 00:03:55 Yeah, we've got a banner here with featuring a football kind of out on a farm, but also on a football field. And the text says family, friends, faith, and football. That's right. The four Fs. The shoddy way. Oh, look, and it's a little with the dumb zone, the little dumb zone engraved on the bottom there.
Starting point is 00:04:16 This doesn't really fit the normal? It's a garden flag, but it's going to hang up here. It has an official title. Yeah, a double-sided garden flag. I've never put a flag in my garden. Can't say I'm familiar with those. Although that could be a euphemism. I've planted my flag in the garden many times.
Starting point is 00:04:35 Many times, you know what I mean? I personally think it's weird that people have things like that in their yard that indicate that a small child looks. lives there, like proud parent of a six-year-old that's such-and-such-and-such elementary. Yeah, yeah, we really appreciate that. Yeah, the class of 2038 or whatever they got now. What are we up to? Yeah, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:05:00 It just seems given the stories I see on the news, odd to advertise that a small child lives here. What's your kid's class? They don't say? I don't know. Okay. I don't know that they're probably not getting that far ahead, robots and the like. We have somebody sitting in here that's not us. I love that.
Starting point is 00:05:19 He is a Nigel. Hello. He is a sit-in. I'm going to be honest. I didn't know they made Americans name Nigel. There's very few. You took a fence, didn't you? I took a shot on the show, actually.
Starting point is 00:05:33 One of your guests said their parents were going to name the Nigel. Can you imagine how much I would have been beat up? And I was in the car listening to the podcast, and I just, slump shoulder for the rest of the ride. 99% of the stuff we do is all right. Yeah, and maybe he doesn't want to give his last name. He just has a very British-sounding name to me. So when you see him...
Starting point is 00:05:54 Can we give your last name? Yeah, it's Lowry. Nigel Lowry. Yeah, I'm not picturing this. A lot of people have been very disappointed when they meet me. My first job, they were very disappointed when I actually came in. What do you do for work, Nigel? In video games.
Starting point is 00:06:10 Whoa. Marketing for video games. Oh, okay. In video games. I thought you meant like they use you as a character and you sort of. No. That's not even a joke. It's just poor attempted humor.
Starting point is 00:06:22 I'm sorry. Well, we had plenty of that this weekend. No. Coming up this week, Blake, tomorrow, MBR. Yeah. Are you ready? Are you excited? Wow, September 1st.
Starting point is 00:06:37 Where has August gone? I know it. And then we're going to do our regular, well, I guess, we're kind of sliding into regular football stuff. During the fall, I think Brandon will be every Tuesday. And then, of course, we have business Wednesday. And then Thursday will be picks. And then Friday, we will have Sandlot football with Jared Sandler.
Starting point is 00:07:02 Are you the Sandlot auction winner from last year's? I am. Jared Sandler event? Two years ago? I think it was last year. Okay. So you're very familiar with Jared Sandler? Extremely.
Starting point is 00:07:13 He was only in the last week, right? Yes, we have sworn that we will not go back to the Sanlott charity event this year because we're going to be in Seattle. I'm actually bummed about that. I'm going to see if my – it's a cheat code. Oh, it's a fun, yeah. If you have kids, their ability to get kids on an MLB field, very cool. Adults like walking on MLM major league baseball fields too as well.
Starting point is 00:07:40 Yeah, it's probably true. That's probably true. I just think it seems like to be a dork and be like, hey, go stand on a baseball field. You've got kids. It's so cool. But we will. Kids can be a good excuse to be a dork. There's a chance that this thing is on fire by December, and we're all bummed because we're watching Joe Milton.
Starting point is 00:07:57 And he's already been replaced by, I don't know, Kate Klubnick or some waiver wire pickup. But if the chalk holds the first weekend in December, Monday night football in Seattle could be pretty electric. So I'm not bummed about missing the San lot thing this year. Okay, you just talked yourself into being not bummed. I'm just saying, yeah. You started this whole thing with, I'm very upset. And then at the end of it, you're like, so I'm not bummed. I was explaining why we're not going to be there.
Starting point is 00:08:30 Okay, so you want to performatively tell Jared that you are upset, but you're actually not. You're going to be having a great time at the gumwall. I'll send the family to bid on another. auction item that we do nothing with. That's right. Well, Nigel is just cashing in his auction item today, so that means we're still able to get the Rangers bus. With Champ.
Starting point is 00:08:53 Yeah, we get a bus with a party. What do we do? How do we do it? I don't know. You bought it. I know I bought it, but I thought it'd be fun. And then nobody wants to have fun. What if I just had the pizza party, just me?
Starting point is 00:09:07 Like kind of that, what's his name, Louis C.K. bid on SNL. The clown? Yeah, the bus shows up. That's the bit. There's 10, 20 pizzas on it. There's Champ and me. That's where you should work on a set.
Starting point is 00:09:26 No, and I just want to sit and eat and then watch Champ do stuff. There's something there. We've already got it paid for. Do we get like secret camera? Like could T.C. set up, T.C. and Clayton set up a bunch of cameras are round and then have them pull into my driveway and this is just it. Yeah. No, sorry, kids are out of the house.
Starting point is 00:09:48 Your wife is here but doesn't participate. Yeah, no, no, she didn't like pizza. You're just floating in the pool while Champ just. She doesn't like pizza. She's going, no, yeah, she's trying to get off carbs. Yeah, I'll just go in the pool. It's me and Champ. There's 20 pizzas around the pool.
Starting point is 00:10:04 Champ is kind of just standing there. I paid my money. I got tuned. I bought this. Yeah. I mean, maybe Champ wants to ride the long- It's worth a shot.
Starting point is 00:10:18 That's a good idea. Now will we ever do that? Who knows? But it's a good idea. But we'll buy something else this year. That's not performative. But it's really for the kids. That's right.
Starting point is 00:10:31 That's right. All the kids get a free sandlot. Or Jared's taxes. One of the other. Whatever's going on. Either way, I want to help both of those things. Okay, we should slide into a weekend check. That will be brought to us by, oh, Trident Garage Door.
Starting point is 00:10:49 I was telling you about my quiet garage before the show. Yeah, Trident is our garage door company. They can come out, kind of just check everything out. That's what we had them do with my garage door set up. And they found a major problem from the company that I had installed the garage door a couple years ago. apparently there's something called a stud and you got to nail stuff into that or else it'll like rip through the wall and that was what was happening they did not hang the garage door on a steady part of the garage so trident's like this is bad so they fixed it but that garage door
Starting point is 00:11:31 could have fallen on my automobile Jake that would have been just horrible the extreme heat here in texas we think about it with like your your foundation your roof but it also affects your garage door. The weather temperature, that really can do a number on the components of that garage door. So as summer ends, hit up TXTridid.com. 817-51212. It's a team of veterans and first responders. I believe they own a decommissioned Humvee. So you can't go wrong. 10% off for Dumbzone customers. Get the work done at TXTridid.com. All right, my weekend. Can we talk about the comedy show a little bit?
Starting point is 00:12:18 Sure. We had Dumb Zone Comedy Night number two. It was sold out. It was good times. In a discussion with some of the attendees, people that attended, after the show, a little mix and mingle, a little talking. It was decided, what was that, August 29th? So it's late August. By late August.
Starting point is 00:12:46 three quarters of the year done. Some, like, Dan, Blake, Clayton, what would we have to do to take the title of year of Jake away from him? There's just no way. What a bounce back from the year that we lost Luca. This is absolutely the year of Jake because I was, I had a guy kind of busting my ball saying, like, he's like, all right, so you came on the air. you made a declare you declared you were going to do something and then Jake just cucked you. The toughest part about that was I thought I was doing the Dan thing because when you said that I was already five months into improv class.
Starting point is 00:13:37 But I was thinking in my head, I was like, boy, he's just coming out and saying it. But that's the guy that I learned don't tell anybody anything until you've already. Right. Where's the baby? No, I said I said I would, I want to open for Akash. Now, to be fair, Comedy show. You did say The Majestic,
Starting point is 00:13:53 which is a, and I'm not trying to be pedantic, but that's a huge deal, and I didn't do that. You didn't? No, I did, it's, I'm just saying. You did it in Oklahoma City at a real club.
Starting point is 00:14:04 It's a real club, but it's not. There's no downtown Dallas. I'm a theater. All right. It's a bit, I'm just trying to make sure people don't think I did.
Starting point is 00:14:12 Indian chicks I can get if I opened for Akash. Now you can do that at the club. Yeah. Yeah. You're good, You're good to go there. Anyway, next thing you know, Jake will pilot a helicopter.
Starting point is 00:14:23 Yeah. In declarative things. I say a lot of things. And get your wife going. And get my wife going. So I did my, oh, was kind of setting up all my football bit, you know, getting ready for my fantasy draft. I got these, the Monopoly football thing. I'm in a couple of those knockout leagues.
Starting point is 00:14:45 But the Dumzo knockout league sign up is now open. I saw the email come through. So same as the last couple years. I think maybe our guy has tweaked a little bit of the rules to try and make sure there's not 10 people tied for first at the end of the year. Yeah, you can only pick a team twice. And I think he dialed back the buyback to week four. Which is very common.
Starting point is 00:15:10 Like, in other leagues, you can only pick a team once, you know? Yeah. So I'm in a couple of those. So, yeah, I wanted to mention that the Dumb Zone Knockout League is up. Go to Dumbzone.com, right? And Knockout League link is up there on the top thingy, I'm guessing. Believe so, yeah. And if it's not, Blake will have it up there pretty soon.
Starting point is 00:15:34 I don't do right now. Really like having the, I know you're a big fan of symmetry. The Monday, September 1st is nice, but this feels like we get an extra day. Like having the weekend before, just having a Monday. September 1st. I don't know about you, but getting Dumzone Comedy Night 2 behind me. And now it's like the preseason of football is over. It's like now
Starting point is 00:15:54 the fall starts on September 1st. You get this weekend before to get all of your football stuff in order. Diet starts today? Maybe hit some chest. The benches will be certainly just free for you. Yeah, it'll be packed today.
Starting point is 00:16:10 And then I had my weekend call with my mom, of course. And I've thought a lot about this. What? Just preparing for later in life calls. And like, I think I have ambitious thoughts that would immediately dissipate if I was forced to put them to action. But I feel like you should go in with a plan. With my mom?
Starting point is 00:16:33 Like, we should give you a little topic every week. And if it gets five minutes, it gets five minutes. But the other day we found out that what was the guy that she, we had a so they got away with that, huh? Oh yeah, she went to high school with a guy Bank Who had walked in Wait or he walked out with like 50 grand 100 grand whatever
Starting point is 00:16:56 In 1969 And just disappeared Changed his identity And they never found out about him Until he was on his deathbed like in Boston So she went to high school in Cleveland And yeah He gave a deathbed confession
Starting point is 00:17:12 To his daughter or something like that And then she mentioned like And he was on the FBI wanted list for insane. And I'm not sure how you would reverse engineer getting that information, but it might be as simple as like, is anything crazy ever happen to anyone you do? Ever? I don't know how that came up, but yeah.
Starting point is 00:17:32 But I feel like she's lived a life, and you're going to have to do these dumb-ass calls anyway, so if you had a little. Little template. Well, we do like to compare weathers. I know, but. So, yeah. It's been really pleasant in Cleveland, by the way. Seems to be the case more often than people give it credit for.
Starting point is 00:17:52 So I just want to tell you one thing about talking to your older mom, and you probably will never experience this unless you don't live in the same city as your mom. But if you have the weekly call, so what happened this week? And a lot of it will be like, well, Tuesday I went to buy salmon. Or, you know, like she builds a whole day out of just I got to go to the grocery store to get milk. So she goes, yeah, my phone, remember I got her new phone when I went to visit earlier this summer? I don't know if I did tell you that.
Starting point is 00:18:30 Anyway, my phone wouldn't send an email. Oh, okay. Yeah, it wouldn't send the email. I was trying everything. So I called Apple. I go, is it Apple? I go, what? He's called Apple.
Starting point is 00:18:48 I think she has the number to Apple, to Amazon. Right. Like, Uber Eats. Anything you can think of that she has the number saved. She has called Apple. And then as usually happens when she calls Apple, unsatisfied with the final result, still can't send the email. Well, I think I'll schedule a trip to the Apple store.
Starting point is 00:19:20 I just wonder the percentage of time that Apple geniuses or Apple, certainly the Apple phone rep, what is the median, is it median or average age of a person who talks to somebody that's at Apple? 65. That's the average. The bulk of the people. Well, yeah, I think really either way in this case. Because I think most of the people who are talking to those people are 60, 65. And because before that, you might feel shame, too.
Starting point is 00:19:56 Like, I'll figure it out on my own before I cave to realizing that I'm washed. But at that age, you have no shame. Yeah. And, like, there's probably ways now you could, you could. I would just delete my email app and just do it on the computer. Reset the phone. Yeah. Yeah, and there's probably ways that you could remotely help her with this, but that would, that's another level.
Starting point is 00:20:24 That's the worst experience. Have you tried? Yeah. Don't ever do that. What do you mean? The remote into your parents. Oh, you get her to turn on the share. You turn on a remote thing, yeah.
Starting point is 00:20:34 Okay. It's the worst. Yeah, I can't do that. They fight it the whole time. Let go with the mouse. Let go with the mouse. Yeah, no, she's tried the, well, okay, I'll FaceTime you, and then I'll, I'll, I'll, I'll, Yeah, that's fun.
Starting point is 00:20:51 Anyway, that's my weekend check. Clayton? A little ball prep. Oklahoma State's most important season, the last 10 to 15 years is this year. We drove down to Denton, picked up everybody that was good on their team, and then drove them up to Stillwater. Oh, they stole the coach, right? And the quarterback. And the GM.
Starting point is 00:21:17 Pretty much everybody was good. They're raiding UNT, the secret to great success. UNT, who couldn't beat South Alabama, but yeah, have at it. Hey, we couldn't beat anybody last year. I was going to say, looking at what Gundy's been doing for the last half decade. Good for them for pulling the trigger, I'd say. Yeah. Our coach is killing Armadillo's.
Starting point is 00:21:44 in his backyard. It's the most Oklahoma State right of passage for a coach. Gundy used to kill rattlesnakes, shirtless, in his backyard on his ranch. Our coach is smoking Armadillos.
Starting point is 00:22:00 So I'm just doing some prep, watching some practice footage, seeing how the boys are prepping. Now, is the idea that Armadillos rip your shit up? Yeah, they tear up your garden. Grubes. Yeah, they're looking for grubs.
Starting point is 00:22:13 Okay. And still water. It feels like a very chappy problem. Yeah, it is a yay. It's a problem Blake's facing right now. I didn't, I don't care now because he's ripping up my backyard. No one sees the backyard. I don't mind.
Starting point is 00:22:27 Last year he's ripping out the front. Flower beds and stuff. Unacceptable. Yeah. Well, I put effort into my front yard. I want it green and looking nice and it's just all ripped up because of this little bastard. No respect. I had my phone call with my mom.
Starting point is 00:22:43 Do that every Saturday. she lives five minutes from my house but i still just don't call her every saturday i don't really see her that much um it's kind of funny because she watches the show or listens to it which is i tell her not to but her opinions of you guys have changed and she loves all of you now she's so grateful that i'm a part of this team but um the most change and it's it's come around to now is um blake oh so when i first started working here she thought blake was just a smart alec just a little smarty pants thinking he's better than everybody else but now she's like oh my god blake and brooks and all their little fun adventures
Starting point is 00:23:36 that's what a beard that's what a force field i'm just like that's your demo the old ladies The disgust that I wish to issue right now. Oh, bring them. Not be palatable enough. But, um. Just a sweet, sweet guy. Yeah, he's just such a nice guy. Pulling the wool over her eyes.
Starting point is 00:23:57 The whole audience doesn't understand who this guy is, man. I had a homeless guy for a year. That's got to buy me something. Sure, it has. Yeah, but the change really happened when we met in Scottsdale. for dinner. She was like, you know, Blake's really nice. He's just such a nice guy. If I can just get face-to-face,
Starting point is 00:24:20 I'm going to win you over. He's saving. Get him in the living room. That was it. Yeah. Fun night at the comedy night. I sat right behind Jake's father-in-law. So I just Oh. I just had... He was there? I didn't see him. I didn't see him.
Starting point is 00:24:40 I turned over and you guys were talking. I looked at you were shaking hands. Oh, that was him. That's right. See, this is the problem with doing this show. I didn't know if you were joking or not. No. And that happens all the time. No, I remember.
Starting point is 00:24:53 Now I remember. I knew this guy who was talking to me. I'm like, but I've met people for how many years, right? He's got a pretty unique. I know. But that's fine. I just, you did talk to him after a firm. Now I remember exactly talking to him.
Starting point is 00:25:08 And I was like, oh, great to see you. Okay. Which it was. It was great to see him. But I didn't, I didn't know that he was, uh, He enjoyed himself. He was the father-in-law. Now that you say it, yes.
Starting point is 00:25:21 Jake was getting some pretty good laughs. No, he's got to, he's not, he listened, he listened to the whole show on Thursday on the way up here. That was much more concerning to me than anything that could happen in five minutes. But no, he's just, he's a cool guy. He's not, they don't take shit too seriously, so, you know, it's weird. I think he knows how to do a lot of man stuff. And a lot of people will say to me, like, oh, it's so.
Starting point is 00:25:46 cooler this is weird you're doing this i'm like i don't know people learn to like whittle or if i can use tools when they get old i don't know i don't know how to do any of that stuff oh so like him he's like oh comedy stuff yeah like my father-in-law's a type of guy who's never really like he's always learning to do stuff and figuring stuff out and i don't know how to do anything with my hands so this is kind of just my version of it's more in the realm of what you've done before yeah so i think You know, he respects it from that standpoint. But, no, it was a good time. So the comedy night was a good time.
Starting point is 00:26:23 Speaking of, like, Nigel, you thought he was like an English boy? From Tottenham, right? Is that a place? What do you think Blake Kenny Lee looks like? He was one of the comedians. Do you know him? No. First guess would be an Asian fella.
Starting point is 00:26:45 Yeah. Absolutely. He's not? Couldn't wait to, no. Black guy. What? Yeah. Cool.
Starting point is 00:26:54 Yeah. That was, I guess, one of his jokes, too, right? Did he work that in? Oh, he's got to. Yeah, and I don't know him that well. He taught my stand-up class at DCC, but I would say he sort of has an Asian vibe to him. I mean, he's into anime. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:27:11 Like, he's. What a flex? What? You had a teacher. your teacher is opening for you. No, no, no, no. Yes. No, no, no, no.
Starting point is 00:27:23 Master, the... He's just so proud to see his protege. No, I don't... We decided at the last one, I guess. So you'd just be weird if I didn't go... I don't know. God, this sucks. I thought you demanded to go last.
Starting point is 00:27:41 That's the way I remember the meeting. And I remember everything. Yeah, Jimmy wanted to go last. And Jake's like, look, dude, this is my show. Do you get a show? I don't even... It's like you're throwing me a slurve. I do not know what to do with this pitch.
Starting point is 00:28:00 As Dan walked in, it was like, what are you fucking stupid? Put Jake at the end. It's our show. I'm like, I don't want to bother anybody. But it was, it was fun. It was a ton of fun. It was a dream. everybody was funny.
Starting point is 00:28:18 I severely do think we missed Blake, and I'm not saying that to make you feel bad. There's a lot more room on the couch. The energy. Now, that is one thing my father-in-law said. We went to dinner afterward at the barbecue place at Terry Blacks, and he was like, oh, Blake wouldn't there, right? And I'm like, yeah, he's a good thing, man.
Starting point is 00:28:35 They were ripping on him. I'm like, like, he still doesn't know that nobody would ever care about that at all. Because in his line of work, you know, you would just punch somebody out for, like, to talk. talking about you like that. For the stuff we say about each other? Yeah, yeah. So I was like, he wouldn't give a shit.
Starting point is 00:28:51 But I just like having the all three of us, you know? It's like if he's there, I need him. I don't know how to explain it. I didn't miss him at all. Well, that might, that was a lot of fun. But honestly, I had a pregame Friday night because I hadn't gotten up. I got up Monday night. I went to an open mic, but I was, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:29:13 I wanted to do mostly new stuff on Saturday. And so I was like, okay, I bet I can get up Friday night. There's one place in town that has a Friday night open mic. It's called Sharkies. It's below Frankie's Sports Bar downtown. Frankies is a pretty well-known sports bar. It's underneath it. And they have a Friday night open mic.
Starting point is 00:29:33 Very rare because most places are going to have a show. And typically the way these things work, the sign up is like an hour, hour and a half before the mic starts. But if you think the world of like radio is a little bit, Goosey Goosey, the world of like open mic stand-up comedy is closer to my experience in rehab. Like, shit might happen. It might not, you know? And I'm like, all right, I know I can get there by 9, 9.30, but I can't be there by 8 to sign up. I'll pay Henry a little bit to go sign up for me. I didn't realize that was Friday. Okay, I thought you did two shows Saturday night.
Starting point is 00:30:12 No, you were telling me about this. Okay. No, I went Friday night, and he went and signed a day. up for me. Dude, I literally, I was racing downtown. I parked on Maine. I just parked on the street, got out of my car, and went inside. Henry was like, I think you're next. And I just went up.
Starting point is 00:30:31 And there was probably 25, 30 people there. It was a good room. That was fun as hell. People were into it, which is not common. And, uh, for an open mic. Open mic, yeah. And then, all you've ever said is those stuff. Then afterward, this part was awkward.
Starting point is 00:30:46 Because I thought I had a pretty good set all things considered. And the guy was like, you know, people were like, oh, whatever. And he's like, ladies a gentleman, we're learning. This man used to work at the ticket. This is J. Kemp. He's a celebrity, folks. Give it up for the set. Hell, yeah.
Starting point is 00:31:03 And they were like. You were just letting it wash upon you? Like the applause at the end of the set was fine. Uh-huh. And then he's like, give it up for the celebrity and nobody reacted. Because they were like, oh, wow, now. I don't know if he was that good. Yeah, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:31:17 But it was just... Once you raised the bar, there. And then he was like... And these guys were great. I want to connect with them. But it was kind of funny. He was like, we're going to give you our golden coin. He was like, you can bump anyone on stage.
Starting point is 00:31:31 Anytime you come in here now for that set. He's like, you get this coin. Dude, baller. And then he's like... You're like Chris Rock at the New York. And then he's like, now he's like, do you want to sit here and judge this roast battle? The next thing they were doing.
Starting point is 00:31:42 And I guess every few comics, I guess they were having two people sign up who had signed up to battle each other. And in this case, those guys seem like friends, right? Like, they knew each other beforehand. It was probably a guy in his late 50s Indian guy and a guy in his probably 30s Mexican guy. And they just did race jokes back and forth for five minutes.
Starting point is 00:32:02 And it was fucking awesome. It was very funny. And then they asked, like, we voted and it was cool. That's awesome. Your mic's not on. But Henry came through big time for me there. And then, yeah, my car was still there, fortunately. I just ran out and well.
Starting point is 00:32:22 It was cool. Real quick, though, speaking of signing up, plum, quick. They were at my house. We'd like you to sign up for a annual month. Really? And I am now signed up for the membership. In this case, I only needed a little bit of work. Dan, there was a tile.
Starting point is 00:32:38 A tile somehow flushed down my toilet. Oh. Okay. Well, you got kids, right? I do have kids. We had to remodel, whatever. But I'm now a bunk-quick customer. Snake down there, and that was causing the problems.
Starting point is 00:32:56 It wasn't your giant BM? No, it wasn't my huge shits. I was trying to soften that. They said we could be out there today if you need to. I said, it's not that big of a deal. This is a minor deal. It gets to me when you can. But I'm now signed up for the home membership, get the whole inspection done.
Starting point is 00:33:15 Great experiences. with Plumquick. 469 331-369. That is a special dumb zone hotline. It's red. The phone is red. And it makes a special sound when it rings. Or go to plumbquick company.com.
Starting point is 00:33:35 That's just for any idiot. You don't have to be a dumb zone listener. Robert told me they're doing a dumb zone call like per day, at least. Well, call now then. Yeah. and get in on the action. Get one of those annual memberships. Are you, okay, that was part of your weekend check.
Starting point is 00:33:56 That was Friday, I guess Saturday. Yeah, Father of all weekend. So that's always, it's cool. He's super Cajun, right? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, relative. I mean, he might not say that because he's around super Cajun people,
Starting point is 00:34:08 but he's super Cajun. Yeah. And he, you know, he came up by himself. So that's easy. You know, he sometimes has the. girls with him, his other daughters, but this is just throw the boy at him and release the pressure off the valve on me for a little bit. How does that work?
Starting point is 00:34:27 The boy is an aggressive, violent little man. It works. I think the other day he was at, like, you pulled up to come by and get something or whatever, and he's in the back seat, and he was threatening to kick you, or he remembered that if he doesn't threaten to kick you, he gets a special treat or something. Like, it came halfway out of his mouth. He was, yeah. But, yeah, he seems to have, for, it's an interesting dynamic for the parent who says,
Starting point is 00:34:58 I will not hit my child. He's like, it feels like he's testing that all the time. Yep. Like, I think, what do you mean, pussy? Oh, you can't take, like, that's what the vibe I get from him is like, he's just challenging Jake. to see, can I make him hit me? And he'll directly verbalize that.
Starting point is 00:35:20 Jake has been cool. And my father-in-law... But it's early in the game. We're really working on just no hitting in the face. Like, I know that that sounds like a low bar. The boy is hitting. Yeah. Okay.
Starting point is 00:35:30 It's just, dude, don't hit me in the face. You want to wrestle? Hit me in the back. Hit me in the chest. You haven't taught him about Wiener? We just can't hit down there. Yeah, we're starting with face. And, you know, there was a time pretty quickly where my father-in-law was like,
Starting point is 00:35:45 Like, you tap me in a face. I'm going to hit you back in the face. And my son goes, do it. Do it. It won't hurt. And he kind of like lightly tapped him one time. And he was just like, that doesn't hurt. He wants it, dude.
Starting point is 00:36:00 And that's why I immediately intervened and was like, no, if he hits in the face again, we're putting up the switch or we're grounded. Because we can't, he wants you to hit him back. I know that because I used to want to get hit back. Like when I started getting slapped, I was like, oh, shit, this is a little juice to this. Like, it's the same as feeling like... I'm alive. Yeah, like playing football. It's like, okay, you get a little violence feels...
Starting point is 00:36:24 He wants that. At least it seems like it. So, any help is much appreciated. We had soccer practice on Saturday morning because we can't practice at night. Because we live in the woke vine. Does Grandpa... Wokeyville heritage. Now that I'm thinking, though, why...
Starting point is 00:36:43 why he must love that he doesn't have any boys, right? Right. Yeah. Yeah. That's the boy he's wanted, you know? He hasn't been able to... It's all in one. He wants to be able to hit a kid in the face.
Starting point is 00:36:54 Like, he's... You know, the girls weren't doing that. Fishing, all the stuff you do with boys. Beat them, you know? Okay. All of it. But yeah, we're back on the sidelines. Really like the group.
Starting point is 00:37:08 Really like the group of dads. Can't wait to see which one of us ends up fighting with us. another one of us over... Wait, what sport? Soccer. Are you the coach? Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:37:20 We're pressing on. This is the girls team? Yeah, you ate, I guess. Okay. They changed the way they did the ages. They used to do it where you were the oldest if it was January, and now it's back to school year. So, but whatever.
Starting point is 00:37:35 It's, uh, I, I love it. I know it sounds stupid, but I love it like irrationally. Is it indoor or outdoor? Outdoor? Okay. Come on. I just know that many parents have blessed the day that they switched to an indoor league just because, you know, being outdoors, cold or it's hot or it's whatever. All right.
Starting point is 00:38:00 Does everyone just become a giant gash? Yeah. Like when they get a little bit older, like your ancestors have been standing outside for hours and hours and hours on in. Like I hear this. They died at the ripe old age of 33. But I think there were other factors than, like, you spent a day every week outside. Like, I don't think you're meant to be inside. And you're inside at your job most of the time.
Starting point is 00:38:25 So, honestly, this is what I'm saying is Saturday morning. I felt like I got a workout in. Now I'm coaching, and I guess if you just got to sit there, that sucks. I would advise all those parents to take a walk. Like, we're outside. Maybe it seems like a free. Yeah, come check back in a minute. minute. No, I don't know. I think the complaining about the sports calendar of the weekend that
Starting point is 00:38:49 everyone, it feels like a lot of stuff that people told me about having kids. They're like, this sucks, this sucks. Now I'm realizing it's like, I think you and your life just suck. As a coach, it doesn't. Dude, it was the greatest. And you're a big part of the reason I'm doing it. It was the greatest Saturday. Just watching you come in every Monday. And I'm like, damn, I want some of that. I can't. It's weird now. But it was just like when I. had kids and every second is dedicated to them over the weekend. I'm looking at my wife like, what did we used to do before we had kids?
Starting point is 00:39:21 And I suppose it was constant sex. I don't know. No doubt. Which angle am I hitting it from today? Yeah. And then even now, I'm like how, what she's just thinking about what meals she'll make and, you know, whatever baking cool stuff she was obviously doing then. Now outside, even besides the call of the week to my mom, I'm very busy all weekend.
Starting point is 00:39:41 and I'm wondering how did I fit in 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. You know, softball tournaments every weekend. Now, I may mark this, you know, maybe 10 years from now you're playing me this, like you're playing me saying, oh, I'm going to be eating. I'm going to be having sex forever. But right now, I just think it's, if you have a good attitude about it, it's a lot of fun. That's where Blake falls short. No, I had some good attitude.
Starting point is 00:40:14 I had some coaching to do this weekend, too. My nephew is playing fall ball. So I was out on the diamond helping out the boys. How old is he? He's eight. Or he plays eight you. Okay, so this is great because now you can bring your little kid. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:40:30 And he's looking up to eight-year-olds. Yep. And he wants to be them. This is what practice looks like. And, yeah, this is how you follow direction, take your turn, all that kind of stuff. The other thing he's doing is swim lessons. So the great Dirk is teaching Brooks how to swim. We had a 9 a.m.
Starting point is 00:40:48 And at 9.30, in walks the great Donovan. Wow. For his swim lesson. Now, he's still doing swim lessons? 10 years later? I think it fell off and it's come back up on their show and now he's going to get back into it. Awesome. So Dirk is who originally taught Donovan some many, many years ago.
Starting point is 00:41:08 He's been here, right? He taught killer in my pool. Yeah. This is great. My pool. We'll have a champ. We've got to talk for a few minutes. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:41:21 It's a few better vibes than Donovan's. So the deal is, is Dirk, like, tries to get the parents to, like, walk away for the lesson, because if your kid, it's just going to be looking at you the whole time. Dude, I've cracked that code to a point where, I mean, there is utility to it, but I got shit to do. So I'll just tell whatever karate. We're doing Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu twice a week now, to your point, Dan. That's where we go Monday and Wednesday. I tell them right away, I'm like, hey, I'm going to walk down the hall.
Starting point is 00:41:54 Because he'll just stare at me, and he'll look over at me. And I think there's something to that. Yeah. So good on them to just, him to just tell you. Like, just chill out. Take a walk. So this lesson happens at a country club. We're not members.
Starting point is 00:42:11 We're not supposed to be there. But I see free coffee, and I'm going to treat myself. And so I'm getting a coffee, and a guy... First down. Thank you. Guy walks up to me, and he says, how have you not said anything about Too Good to Go on the show yet? I was like, boy, I really haven't thought about that.
Starting point is 00:42:33 You want to hit the first down again. Too Good to Go is these companies will, if they have donuts, they're going to throw out, they'll put it on the ad. and you can get a mess of donuts for a dollar or something. Wow. I've eaten a lot of Chinese food at 10 o'clock at night off a two good to go for like four bucks. Wait, what is this? Why?
Starting point is 00:42:53 Because it's the food they're going to throw out anyway. How is this legal? It's awesome. Because I've dealt with this before with the Cowboys Postgame Show. You know, Joe Letchie would want to feed his family until the next harvest. Yeah. And I would be like, I feel like we could take this. to a homeless shelter.
Starting point is 00:43:12 And what I was told, and I've been told this by other people, is they can't just take food, like open. Yeah, what if you placed it? Yeah. What if your bit was to poison homeless people? So there's a lot of, you know, donuts. Why is that so funny, Nigel? What was you?
Starting point is 00:43:30 What if your business of poison, the whole show? Homeless people. This bit is that? Well, different people are. So how does it work? You know, early in the morning, you'll get, your Dunkin or your donuts, and throughout the day that you'll get your Tiffs, treats, you know, stuff that that was going to get thrown out or get stale or whatever. Late at night, though, you have a ton of Chinese restaurants that's like you get a mess of rice, here's the meat that we didn't really use.
Starting point is 00:43:54 It's coming from the restaurant. It's from the restaurant, but it's stuff that was going to get thrown out. So rather than, you know, make zero off of it, they're not going to make you pay your 15 bucks. How about five? You get your little egg drop soup, your little rice dish, and it's five bucks. Now the problem, though, is you've got to eat at 10 o'clock whenever they're going to decide they're going to throw it out.
Starting point is 00:44:14 These are... But... Features, not bugs. For those interested, too good to go, you need to download it. And special thanks to Terrence, who came up to me at the swim lesson. It reminded me that I had not told my beehive audience
Starting point is 00:44:28 about too good to go yet. I'm in, dude. He's the only guy that has his own audience on this show. I think that makes more sense than anything we do. So I love it Don't you also have a Not like a you know the owner Operator but like a somewhat of an Eatsy sack
Starting point is 00:44:48 Isn't there a A time where they Yeah yeah Red dot? When I lived over here Yeah their red dot sale is buy one Get one It's like at nine or three
Starting point is 00:45:01 If they close at nine I think 830 Between 8 and 9 or something Yeah We have a half off card But anybody can go in and get Yeah Because you would say cops would do it
Starting point is 00:45:13 Right? If you go to ETSA Like a certain time of night Because they give cops a card Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah
Starting point is 00:45:18 So with my half off card Buy one get one free Became buy one Or buy one get three free Whatever the math But anyone can go there And do the buy one Yeah I was just stacking it
Starting point is 00:45:29 Or I was getting just a big Right Your Blank for nothing Too good to go Too good to go I watched the Untold Vince Young story.
Starting point is 00:45:38 So good. If we're going to do that on the show. I'm not done with it, but I... I will. I think so, yeah. I watched the preseason game, which I should not have. Yeah, I did too. I'm ready for it.
Starting point is 00:45:52 A playground thing, pleading insanity. Yeah, for sure. That was basically my Columbia house. Get out of jail. You know, it's like, look, I'm a minor. They're not going to make me pay for this. Like, dude, yeah, he killed him, but he's just going to plead insanity. Right. You can get away with anything. He'll be back at work by insanity.
Starting point is 00:46:14 Damn. He had insanity. We didn't think of that. Yep. Got us. And then a couple of football things. I forgot to mention this from Arizona. So where we were for Cowboys Cardinals, the National Radio booth is right next to the booth where the doctor is watching for concussions. And so I got to watch him. Cowboy Doctor? No. This is in it. Well, this is third party doctor, right? He's not affiliated with the league at all. he would watch the tape and then he would rewind it and just look for anyone who had helmet to helmet or showed any signs of concussion.
Starting point is 00:46:48 It was really cool to watch him and see what he was looking for. He was also using an Xbox controller, which threw me off because he had every TV angle on this screen. And the quickest way to get around to it, to select it, and to rewind it was for him to just play with this controller. So he'd work around it, he'd hit A, and then he'd hit left trigger rewind, right trigger to speed up, and then it's just he was, it was awesome to see. And it's all Microsoft, right? It's what it makes sense. Yeah, I mean, why would that not be like the best controller possible? It is the consumer, like, he's already maybe somewhat used to it and yeah.
Starting point is 00:47:27 Yeah, some of the, like, when they do the ref replay up in the booth, some of those systems are built off of just a basic. controller system. I just thought it's cool. I trained on it once and it was like, oh. Oh yeah, you told me that. He got what conference, it was one of the conference.
Starting point is 00:47:45 University. Yeah. To train to do the, yeah, the replay tech. Yeah, his doctor's fiddling with his controller during the game. It was cool. And then Friday night
Starting point is 00:47:54 did Cowboys, Saints, final preseason game. Somewhat there to work, somewhat there to just share the night with Ted Emrick. Who was celebrating a birthday. Ted Emrick, Jesse Hawley from DLLS. Now, did Ted have you wait downstairs by yourself for two hours like you did at your birthday one time?
Starting point is 00:48:16 No. I forgot about that. I wish I could. Yeah, me too. But as your friend, I could never forget such a serious industry misstep. I mean, it's Ted Emric and you left him in the lobby for while you were enjoying $100 stakes
Starting point is 00:48:35 and yeah yeah I'm sorry Ted the other day I was on the phone with Dan yesterday we got we had a business
Starting point is 00:48:44 Sunday and we were probably 20 minutes in I was like hey TC's for you can we get him in here he's like yeah so I called TC
Starting point is 00:48:54 and just started talking and I was like all right so what do we think about the angles from the comedy show I was like do you need to move around a little bit
Starting point is 00:49:01 we got like this email from Kent He's going to do like a brand refresh type deal for us. And I looked down and I hadn't heard from Dan and realized that I'd been talking for, I think, eight minutes. And Dan was still on hold. He says, I haven't heard from him. So I think he's probably not here. And I looked down.
Starting point is 00:49:22 I merged him in. I said, Dan. I was like, hey, guys. I was working on stuff. I had my computer open and I just figured, all right, whatever. I don't know. I had my text. Open on a market gear?
Starting point is 00:49:34 T.C. and Jake, you know, they got their own plotting to do. No, I mean, you know, maybe you had something and it came up, and TC's like, but I don't know. And I was going to text you eventually, but I was like, man. But it was one of those times where I was getting a lot done. Do you know when you have something else to do? But like, so that's on hold.
Starting point is 00:49:55 And I'm like, I'll get as much done as I can here while I'm waiting. And I kept not coming. So I kept answering emails. getting stuff done. Well, you're welcome if that's what you want me to say. Yeah, thank you. Pretty good crowd. I was actually surprised because I went into the game upset
Starting point is 00:50:12 because they scheduled a meaningless preseason game on the first night of high school football. And they don't care. You know, that preseason game was an audition for many of the guys. They were able to put something on tape for all the other teams in the league. And really, it's probably, Hey, thanks, football, man.
Starting point is 00:50:34 It's probably one of the games you'll see players play harder than even in the regular season. Well, that did hold up. It was a nice. It was a good game. And so, yeah, a decent-sized crowd. They started the wave. And I didn't hate it. There you go.
Starting point is 00:50:52 See? I don't know if I'm getting old or what. The wave does not belong at a football game. The wave started it. Well, no. That's insane. I don't care if it started at football. It doesn't belong.
Starting point is 00:51:04 Did it start a football or baseball? Because baseball, it's like when the other team's at bat, right? Baseball, it's that you're so bored that literally standing up and raising your hands feels like an exciting entertainment alternative. It's not needed in football. I thought you're baseball guy. I don't watch all the games now. I'm such baseball guy that I don't need the wave.
Starting point is 00:51:24 That's the thing. It's a good comeback. It feels like. There's excitement at an all-time high, and I'm worried about that. For Cowboys? Yes. Like, the vibe's just watching the broadcast from Friday night. It's just...
Starting point is 00:51:43 What could go wrong? Times are so good. Hearing Jerry talk after the game. Now, they did get out relatively unscathed. That's factual. Leafout. Do you do the parade Wednesday or do you do a Thursday? Like, do they need a couple days to recover?
Starting point is 00:52:00 I had a... I had put $6 million on yes on Dan on Kalshi using the word parade today. And I just... So Leifow broke his wrist or something? You ever heard the story of King Solomon? He let these problems solve themselves. Actually haven't. Maris Leifow...
Starting point is 00:52:19 I didn't want to have to be the guy to tell him to find a different career, but I'm glad he's going to have to. Yeah, Jesse was saying his fractured wrist kept him on the team. No, yeah, but I'm just saying, like, When he's back, he's done. For sure, but he gets to hang around a little bit. Sure. So he saw Julie on Friday's show and had an idea? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:52:39 Oh. How can I get hurt here? Yeah, that's a good bit. What if all the guys on the bubble, like Jaden Blue is trying to... Yeah. Although in the broadcast, they were like, ah, he's got the team made. Well, good times. Oh, okay.
Starting point is 00:53:01 Let's get into sports then, since Blake kind of led us there. A wonderful world of sports, radio sports, scoreboard. Oh, yeah, I like that. First, though, had an email from Matt. It was actually about something else, and at the end, he's like, two other things I want to mention. One, community mechanical was awesome. Travis was super patient, worked through a lot of decision-making after I realized it wasn't going to be a quick, cheap fix. They do things the right way.
Starting point is 00:53:33 They should be proud of what they have built. Okay. And then he says, number two, I had two best men in my wedding. Let the haters hate, no regrets. I don't know why he threw that in there. Don't know why I read it right now, because we're talking about community mechanical. I think probably just a contrast, right? Like community mechanical is a decision that we will salute you on.
Starting point is 00:53:56 Two best men in your wedding. But I love them both. I love them both. Anyway, community mechanical, that's the home of the PM. not the BM, the preventative maintenance. They will come out to my house about twice a year. Probably looking at one soon now, because they come out in the fall, they come out in the spring,
Starting point is 00:54:20 they'll kind of get you ready for the winter. They get you ready for the summer. HVAC, that's their game. What else can we say? They're awesome. If you're doing any sort of remodel, you're adding on, maybe you need a mini-split. That's what I got over at the house.
Starting point is 00:54:35 also have the preventative maintenance at our place. CommunityDFW.com 469667-7-290, and they will bring you another season of the Brandon Aubrey Show. Community Mechanical, Travis and the team real cool, you don't want your house to explode. Don't be a bitch, so pick up the phone, Dan almost died. Well, Cowboys' cuts, or, you know, NFL cuts in general. or the big story of the day, I would say.
Starting point is 00:55:10 We already mentioned a pretty big one, Jaden Blue. Very surprising. Yeah, it's probably surprising because it's the Cowboys and because they drafted him. But, I mean, fifth round running backs get cut after their second year camp. That happens, right? It just doesn't happen to the Cowboys. I certainly, now, part of this is,
Starting point is 00:55:36 is that I write a column. And sometimes that has to be every week. And sometimes that means that you will have to come up with topics that generate headlines that look like you're a lot more on board with a player like Michael Gallup or Jaden Blue than you made. Why did you do a Jaden Blue column? Definitely. But the idea was really more like, hey, this is not. the type of player the Cowboys have drafted before.
Starting point is 00:56:09 Let's see if they want to do something with it here. But even that level of excitement about Jaden Blue, I kind of feel dumb about. Because the more I think about it now, you really can't have gadget guys, period, anymore. There's just not that many of them, you know, in the same way that, as we've seen on the other end, the 6-4-65 receiver is less valuable now. you don't have a ton of five nine slot guys anymore you don't have a ton of like tiny running backs or huge running backs you just have a bunch of similarly built skill position players because teams are trying to disguise what they want to do and if there's a guy that every time we put him out there we have way more information about your your tendencies than another guy then they become a bit of a liability and there's a world where I think you could have Jaden Blue
Starting point is 00:57:08 and he could be a productive NFL player. It would probably start with him being dynamic in special teams, right? But he never showed that at all. So if you could do that and you could maybe be a part of the offense, really Turpin is like the best case scenario for a gadget player in the NFL. And you already have that. So if Jaden Blue could have been the running back version of Kavala, Tervin, which is not crazy, then he has a role.
Starting point is 00:57:36 If not, I just want the same Javante type running back 50 times over. You know what I mean? Just a guy who runs hard, has enough juice, gets the job done. Well, and that's what Malik Davis became, apparently. Without a doubt. It's what Rico Dowder was. Yeah, Malik Davis did what they wanted, you know, Jaden Blue or Phil Moff. They got rid of Phil Moffa.
Starting point is 00:58:03 That was probably a harder decision. I was just surprised they only kept two running backs, really. Hunter Lipke is a running back, but... That helps from the standpoint of their numbers, right? He plays a lot of special teams, and he is a third-down running back. So I think, you know, we joke about it. Malik Davis? No, Lipke can play enough different positions to where he gives them some flexibility there.
Starting point is 00:58:26 He is a third running back. if you know you look at them keeping a sixth wide receiver those numbers fit together because you can only have so many you know skill position guys yeah i was sad that phil mafa got cut only that i've first-hand information that he's a great dude and he's one of the few uh that my daughter would say that about to tell you the truth really a good guy but uh he'll have an NFL career you know like whether it's practice squad they've expanded the veteran practice squad so much now that you can look it ain't like it's is it like 20 guys or something yeah yeah and you used to you know at a certain level you couldn't be on it right the veteran yeah you said the veteran practice
Starting point is 00:59:09 squad big deal that's a big deal i'm not saying that your guidance counselor should be saying maybe nfl now but there are more jobs than there used to be and a guy like that can can make real money kept three quarterbacks that was a shock to me because i have seen nothing from sam how personally. Well, he was better than Joe Milton the other night. He was better than Joe Milton the other night. But I'm not a big Sam Howl guy, for sure. I thought they only brought him in here to kind of push Joe Milton.
Starting point is 00:59:41 And Joe Milton, I thought, responded well. Certainly played better the first couple of preseason games that he did Friday. But you're also with lesser caliber players out there with you against lesser caliber, but still. Yeah. But, you know, we've seen that blamed for the reason of. quarterback couldn't whatever but yeah i i so i that's kind of surprising like you said they keep six wide receivers which we will talk about but at skill position so you've decided three quarterbacks are more important and with dach's age i suppose maybe i don't know i don't know um
Starting point is 01:00:23 i wouldn't keep sam how i wouldn't either uh six wide receivers our guy that we talked to in the preseason, Camden Brown, the talk of the preseason. He makes the team, so that's a good story. Great story, really, really cool. Sweet guy really seemed, I don't know, I watched some videos of him just like celebrating with his family after he got the Cowboys call.
Starting point is 01:00:50 He is like a possession-y type receiver. You know, like we were just talking about, like, the big guy kind of not being in vogue anymore, but they need a lot of red zone. help. I mean, they were terrible, terrible. You know, that's the one area where not having a legit guy can be a problem. So maybe he offers some help there. Yeah, it'd be interesting to see him get put on the field during a
Starting point is 01:01:13 real game at that point. Well, I think that's the idea is that, like, you've got some, there are other teams that find ways to use guys down their skill position depth chart. We're just not used to it. Yeah. Other teams do this. Well, let's see. see how that happens. It's definitely harder when you have two guys who make a ton of money.
Starting point is 01:01:34 Yeah, you already have CD and Pickens. They need the ball. Jonathan Mingo makes the team. Had a better camp than he's had before. That's a, the bar is very low then, right? For Jonathan Mingo. But certainly he benefited from the Jerry traded for me. Glow, I would say.
Starting point is 01:01:59 Like if Jerry was the. guy who stood up and said, I need Jaden Blue here in the fifth round. Jaden Blue would probably still be on the team. We... Probably, but I feel like you got to give Shottie some credit, just that they're, or whoever, Will McLeigh, just that the fact that they're willing to cut a guy like Jaden Blue is different for Dallas. Absolutely.
Starting point is 01:02:21 The reason it's shocking is that Shottie clearly had problems with him last year, but really was talking him up throughout training camp. He's different guy. He's, you know, he's, he listened to what we had to say. He made some adjustments. He's, you know, things are getting better. And then he gets cut. And maybe it is the emergence of somebody like Camden Brown.
Starting point is 01:02:49 Maybe had he not stood out in camp, maybe they have, maybe Jayden Blues on the team. I don't know. I was upset, of course, that they got rid of a receiver named, Jordan Hudson. So I think she will go back to college, as it's the thing now in the NFL. You can go back to college. So she's at North Carolina again. Anything else surprise you, I guess, stand out?
Starting point is 01:03:15 No, not from a cowboy standpoint. But those were the big things, I guess. Oh, Sam Williams. That was thought that could definitely. be a thing. But I think that's surprising to me from where camp started. Just your thought of Sam Williams is, oh, cool, that's a guy, you got him on a one-year deal,
Starting point is 01:03:42 kind of a, you've shown some flashes. Now can he take some steps here and get himself a deal and be a productive player? Because there's some things I liked about Sam Williams. Yeah, but he was being asked to, completely relearn the position. So is this a change in? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:04:04 The D.C. change costs Sam Williams? I think Donovan Azaraku might be in a better spot than he was last year with Christian Parker here as opposed to Matt Eberfluse. But for Sam Williams, this was going to be a tough draw. Same as like Jadavion Clowny. Guys like that that have maybe not played as much in that system. But I know for sure with Sam Williams,
Starting point is 01:04:27 that was going to be tricky. Malachi Lawrence, these guys have played this drop sort of outside linebacker role before. And it's not like you've got to feel bad. I mean, Sam Williams. He had a lot of chances. He had a lot of chances. He had a lot of chances, folks. Nick Harris put out a tweet that said,
Starting point is 01:04:49 that was interesting to me, of the 26 defenders that were on the week one roster last year, year. 17 of them are not anymore. Yeah, no, it's more than that. Nine. It's more than that. What? So I think you revised it to 15, but they're not just not on the roster. They're not on any roster. Yes. Two are on the Pup list, which is Leah Fow who you thought would be cut, and Micah Parsons. Those other 15 guys, I don't think it's that they're different. 15 others are not on any team at all in week one right like no other team there's 31 other teams thought they are talented enough to be our third string or whatever string you know i mean i'm sure there have been cases where
Starting point is 01:05:41 this has happened but there there can't be many where in one year you're talking about two thirds of a group of people on one side of the ball are unemployed the next year now it's early in camp but do you think somebody's rushing to get Kenneth Murray and Jack Sanborn. And who the, God, dude, go pull up last year's week one starters. I mean, and again, I had an article. They even ended up trading for some guys that are on a roster too. There you go. What was the Cincinnati guy?
Starting point is 01:06:12 Logan Wilson. Yeah. And that's where it all gets back to, you know, you bringing up the thing in the FT& Almanac this year. It's the fourth worst defense in the history of the league. So there's just nowhere to go but up. Like the coordinator can't be worse. The players can't be worse.
Starting point is 01:06:34 By sheer dead of the fact that they're employed by NFL teams. Last year's defense is not. There were some other interesting cuts from around the NFL. Well, let's go around the NFL after I tell you about flooring direct DFW, flooring direct DFW.com slash DZ. You talk about can't get worse because that's our, Our house right now is like the old Texas stadium in the last couple years. Like my wife spilled a potted plant the other day and then cleaned up like half of it.
Starting point is 01:07:11 And then it's like, well, we're getting new floors soon. I'm like, whoa, what do you do? You can't just leave it there. But we're getting new floors soon. It's all about the decision. She's having a tough time making the decision. Can we film her flipping over tiles? Like making the decision?
Starting point is 01:07:30 Yeah, like the hat or in the hot tub or whatever. Yeah, well, anyway, they are great to work with, though. I think I've told you many times they're extremely patient. Right now we are running into football season, so it is fall is new floor season for you. FlooringDirectDFW.com slash DZ. FlooringDirectDefW.com slash DZ 972.4. 449-9456.
Starting point is 01:08:00 They've got tons of financing options available to you. They will move your stuff. They'll move it back, so you have no issues with that. It's a 4.8 stars on Google reviews. They're local. That's why they can get these samples right here to you. Foreign Direct, DFW.com slash DZ. Will Levis got cut.
Starting point is 01:08:22 Will Levis got cut. When was he drafted? Two years, right? That's it? Oh, no. Second round pick? Second round in 2023. Okay.
Starting point is 01:08:35 Still. 33rd overall. So it was barely the second round. Someone will take a shot, right? Always. I mean, heck, the guy of the Cowboys, the Cowboys traded for a tackle over the weekend. Broderick Jones of the Pittsburgh Steelers,
Starting point is 01:08:53 who was the 14th overall pick, just a couple years ago. And Giants cut Evan Neal. Cowboys love to trade for those. Was once a first round pick. I'd rather do that than was once a fifth. I mean, I don't know. At some point, you'd rather have an established player,
Starting point is 01:09:12 but you're taking what you can get at this point. And in reality, if Tyler Guyton sucks bad enough, they'll just move Tyler Smith, you would think. So in any case. Yeah, their offense is in great shape, obviously. If your swing tackle is your one thing that's standing out to you that you got to make a move. Other quarterbacks, Bailey Zappy,
Starting point is 01:09:39 if you wanted to grab him. Shane Bouchel. Remember him? Oh, yeah. He got cut. I don't know what other names. Jump out to you. McColl Hardman jumps out to me.
Starting point is 01:09:56 There's a guy who was, I don't know, he was at least part of the Chiefs for quite a few years. Yeah. And then speaking of the Cowboys' Defense guys who are not on a roster right now, Mazzie Smith got cut. Mazzie Smith. And Trayvon Diggs? Was Diggs even in a camp? I didn't know he was in a camp. He's currently with the Seahawks practice squad.
Starting point is 01:10:25 Wow. Dude. You didn't see that camp. clip going around. What was that? Trayvon Diggs got an interception in the Seahawks game. And Kate Scott, welcome to Seattle, Trayvon Diggs. I did not.
Starting point is 01:10:42 Did that break contain when you made fun of Kate Scott right there? It might. Yeah. Now that clip was going viral, but have you seen the one of him trying to tackle Travis Kelsey? That one, a little more indicative of his overall game. Just get trucked? He just gets out of the Wade.
Starting point is 01:11:03 Oh, he didn't try. He just hits the deck and is like, no, not today. Not doing it. And again, that's why I hate being. Mike McDonald loves that kind of guy. And I get the bit every year I'm going to think, oh, and when is the parade? But I do think that for the sake of providing sober-minded analysis, you can at least look at what they're doing right now as opposed to one year ago. and you have to feel better about going to war without,
Starting point is 01:11:35 oh, Mike has got half a jersey on today. Him and Mike are doing a live podcast over here with the media, just shitting on ownership. Who knows who Kenneth Murray is? I guess he's in charge. He's the captain of the defense. Here's Matt Eberfluse. Not exactly sure where he came from,
Starting point is 01:11:54 but he's back in the building. I don't know. I don't feel that much better because the cowboys themselves made that mess. It's hard to say, don't you feel better when they're scouting your apartment and Iberflue's got them there in the first place. Well, I mean, that's just what they've done since then, right? So in the last 20 years, no team has spent less on safety in the draft than the Cowboys. It's not even close. Like using the Jimmy Johnson chart.
Starting point is 01:12:22 And they took a safety in the first round. I'm not sure they've had a pair of defensive tackles this good in my life. like since the Super Bowl teams. They've just always been historically bad inside on defense. So however they got here, they've also always had retread guys as their coaches who don't walk onto the field with a schematic advantage because they didn't have to be the best at every job that they were at to rise above the rest.
Starting point is 01:12:51 They just knew guys. Now they have guys who actually had to have answers to the test to prove that they were the best at their job. jobs. And it's the first time I've ever felt like that before. It's concerning just the, is this a blueprint that is going to win in the NFL? And I guess you only want it to be a blueprint that's going to at least give you an average defense, right?
Starting point is 01:13:26 Because you have a really good offense. It's just the, when you, building from the inside out, I don't see that very many places. and when we talk Trayvon Diggs, I think he was extremely overrated because he had Mika terrorizing quarterbacks. Like their pass rush with Mika and Demarcus Lawrence on the other side. You know? Yeah, but the ultimate thing is how much are you getting home?
Starting point is 01:13:54 And the Cowboys still had a pretty good pressure rate last year. And that was, you know, they ended up half of a year of Quinn. If you end up top six or seven in pressures, it doesn't matter if eight guys got them or two. Because they, yeah, I'm just, I'm, I'm interested in how this will look over a whole season with a new coordinator. I kind of think it's one of those things where next year would be the year. But, you know, with Dak and his age and everything, you can't, you can't think like that. You wasted last year.
Starting point is 01:14:36 waste of a year of Dax Prime, I guess you would say. And so it's just, it's concerning to me of how this will work out. How will the big tackles in the middle, you know, work out? Can that mask the weak secondary that you have? You have a weak secondary? At least right now on paper, you would have to say so. And the Caleb Downs thing, that's interesting as to how much effect that can have. even if he's if he's great like it it kind of seems like there's no world in which he's not great that's i
Starting point is 01:15:15 i have not seen anyone try to make a good argument on why caleb downs won't work you have you yeah what's what uh yeah Gavin dawson is fighting with every single person online saying he's too small i've seen a little of that but i don't know that that's i mean by visual looks like that to me too, but then you read that, you know, he's kind of in line with some other great safeties and what they're... To me, he looks exactly like Cooper DeGine. Their dimensions are? DeGine's bigger.
Starting point is 01:15:49 By about one inch. At least on their, you know, but DeGine doesn't look big to me. I credit D.B. I credit Gavin Dawson. It's the bit you should do if you're going to try and get engagement online. It's the right one, you know, because he is the golden boy right now. can do no wrong. He's kind of the perfect draft pick.
Starting point is 01:16:10 Can't believe we got him. All that kind of stuff. But it's interesting, even if he's great, you wonder how much of an effect can he have on the defense. Yeah, I mean, I think that the biggest deal is that they have, again, they have a coordinator who's not just, I'm going to line up. I'm just going to line up. It's been a very long time.
Starting point is 01:16:38 All right. Would you like to work a break-in and drain some veins? Let's do it. The dumbs are dumbs. Got to know the young man a little bit, but also from a scouting standpoint, you were, you analyzed him over the years at Ohio State and coming into league with the Washington commanders and then going to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Starting point is 01:17:02 Obviously, it's a terrible tragedy, and one of your thoughts on that, and also on the player because you did chronicle his career very closely. Well, you know, Dan, I hate any time anybody is killed or anybody dies. But he was a guy that was living to be dead, so to speak. You know, they told him, don't, under any circumstances, leave school early. You just don't have the work habits.
Starting point is 01:17:33 You don't have this. You don't have that. What do you do? Left school early. I always can remember this. We invited players to the draft. and he was one of the players we invited to the draft. And we were told, no, we're going to have our own party.
Starting point is 01:17:52 His own party was a party at the bowling alley, charged him 50 bucks to get into the bowling alley for his party. It was always something, you know. It's one of those things. I'm never offside, but they keep calling me for offside is what it is. So, you know, it's a tragic thing. Anytime anybody dies is tragic. And especially when you're 24 years old,
Starting point is 01:18:18 and you got to hold your whole life ahead of you. But, you know, maybe if he'd have stayed in school a year, he wouldn't do silly things. I mean, when you're jogging on a highway, you know, on a road like that, that leaves it open because I'll tell you, it's so, a guy has two drinks, and he's just a little bit to the right side. side of the road and gets hit and killed, it's easy to happen.
Starting point is 01:18:46 Yeah. I want to just share this. This is a statement that you're listening to the Dumbzone. We need that. Yeah. I'm just asking you a question. You can answer it honestly because we hired you for your opinions and your point of view from being an NFL guy from your perch.
Starting point is 01:19:14 but if you give us an answer like that you're fired the next day like that's almost shock jock right I'm hiring Gil Brandt I didn't remember that he got fired some guy year old that's the last thing he ever said on serious whatever radio
Starting point is 01:19:35 I'm saying quite the walkoff yeah what'd you expect I'm hiring an 80 year old yeah personnel man scout like Again, from your point of view, what did you think of Dwayne Haskins? Did you want him to say, I thought he was the greatest human being that's ever lived? Why did you hire Gil Brandt? You hired, my perspective was the guy sucked.
Starting point is 01:20:02 He didn't listen to authority. He didn't go to our party that I invited him to, had his own party, then he charged money for it. And it was indicative of his play when they keep calling me for us. off sides. I'm not off sides. Like, that's what he was saying. This is his point of view. All right, Gil, we might disagree with that over here, but no, it's just fire you then. Gil, we're also saying that the Supreme Court has weighed in on gay marriage. You have any thoughts on that? You'd like to. But if you were hired, if you hired Gil Brand to a political talk show, yes, then he's going to say those things. You hired him as a football. What is a
Starting point is 01:20:39 football analyst? And football analysts were saying that about Dwayne Haskell. I'm going to go to my deathbed fighting for Gil Brantz. I just need his name, whatever. I need it cleaned up. You want it smirched. It's been be smirched, and I won't have it. Smirch that name back. Smirch this damn name.
Starting point is 01:21:02 So we have a new sponsor, but we're going to do a soft lunch. Oh, I like that. We're soft launching, and then Kyle is the owner. Kyler. I'm sorry, Kyler. I was always thinking Kyle, and we never asked him if he went to A&M, did we? No, but I kind of feel like it's probably... Actually, I don't know.
Starting point is 01:21:20 Just anyone named Kyle initially, so when I saw the name Kyler, anyway, his name is Kyler, but he's the owner of our newest sponsor, Atlas Foundation Company. Got a foundation company. That's right. Wow. Family owned for 68 years. They fly by day. If he sticks with us for at least a year, next year, he's not going to be so far.
Starting point is 01:21:42 fun. Oh, my God. That's why he joined us now. To celebrate the 69th year. Right. I wonder what day they will celebrate their 69th year in business. Grizzled guy in North Texas in the 60s or 70s, starting some foundation company so that his grandson, 70 years later, can do a big celebration on year 69. Oh, I thought you were saying Kyler is a grizzled guy because he's the kind of guy that's not going, oh, I hope there's this indoor soccer league.
Starting point is 01:22:12 Right. Because he spends a lot of time outside. They'll be at my house this week, actually. And like I said, they've been in business for 68 years. These are specialists. They handle everything from concrete lifting to steel piling to house tunneling. Hit them up. I don't even know what house tunneling is.
Starting point is 01:22:32 I don't either. Call 817934-4778 to find out. Or go to atlas Foundation inc.com. Atlas Foundation Inc. All right. I think you're worried that I'm going to be mean here. I'm not. I'm doing a, I'm doing cowboy audio, cowboy game audio, and I was listening.
Starting point is 01:22:55 I watched the whole game. Oh, I thought you're going to be mean to me. I don't care about this. Oh, no. I'm like, man, I'm not sure. No, I'm not being mean. But so I wait. I was looking for the regular, first of all, I'm very upset.
Starting point is 01:23:06 They didn't have the playmaker. They didn't have. They didn't tell us that that's what we were going to lose with the fourth preseason game. They didn't have Babe Lofenberg. They just had the same thing, Isaiah Standbeck. Who's fine? But he's not Babe Lofenberg or Playmaker.
Starting point is 01:23:23 I've just come to enjoy these things. Yeah, over the years. It would be moose sometimes, right? It would be, they would get Emmett. They would get Mani Pachial. Mani Pachial rubbing the guy with the ball defense. Well, he was just a guess. He wasn't the color commentator.
Starting point is 01:23:41 No, they had on the sideline. Yeah, they had them on the sideline. They would get Nate. Yeah. You know, they would get all sorts of people. So I'm not just complaining no playmaker. It's just that they don't, they're not doing anything. Well, so last game, I kind of focused on Bill Jones and Isaiah's chemistry or lack of.
Starting point is 01:24:07 Yeah. A lot of balls sailing into the stands there. They did have more of that. But then what stood out to me, I don't remember if Nicole was part of the – No, she wasn't the sideline reporter last week, was she? She was game one when you guys watched the West Coast broadcast. Oh, okay. Game two was Tommy Yarsh.
Starting point is 01:24:28 Game three is back to Nicole. Okay, but I was focusing – when I came out of this like, hey, I got a bunch of Nicole cuts. Let's play those because she's interviewing people on the sideline. The game doesn't matter, all that kind of stuff. And I'll start with her report. She was talking about, not talking to, but talking about Joe Milton. And interesting, you know, once you look at the stats after the game and you watch Joe Milton, didn't have that great of a game.
Starting point is 01:24:55 Certainly not as good as game two. But here's, I thought this was interesting point. Down on the sideline, let's check in with Nicole. Did you guys just see that rollout pass from Joe Milton? that's something that's been a big emphasis for him. Audio cuts out for some of it. He pointed out the way that his base has really improved. And he told me, Joe Milton said, hey, after I go through my progressions,
Starting point is 01:25:21 I'm always repeating myself. What's that? Why do you have the ref feed in the mix? Oh, now. So Blake knows who's fault that is. It's not Nicole's fault. Base, he said it took some time to get comfortable, this comfortable. And for that, he actually credits his becoming a girl dad
Starting point is 01:25:40 with teaching him to trust his growth instead of rushing it. All right, some great insight there. Well, number one, we have a new drop. Just don't even. All right, some great insight there. So he's a better quarterback because he had a girl? He stopped, yeah, let's try and decipher that. He said it took some time.
Starting point is 01:25:59 So it's, yeah. Time to get comfortable, this comfortable. And for that, he actually credits his becoming a girl dad with teaching him to trust his growth instead of rushing it. No, you could play the whole thing again. It's not going to make any more sense. I don't like that. It's not going to make any more sense.
Starting point is 01:26:13 Joe Milton, like, he credits becoming a girl dad. He used to bail on the pocket second progression because he'd only had a boy at that time. But now sometimes he'll get all the way to the fourth. I want to credit her because I think some sideline people will, like, all right, we're just kind of dicking around down here. It's the last preseason game. Hey, how do you like?
Starting point is 01:26:37 what's coming up? What do you guys do? You know, blah, blah, blah. Just kind of just general, generic. I'll just wing it. And she did have some prepared questions. But some of them were kind of like real in depth and deep. And I think the players are expecting, hey, we're just on the sideline here.
Starting point is 01:26:57 We're goofing around. It's the Cowboys Network. There's not going to be hard-hitting questions and stuff. So that's my example here with both Caleb Downs and DAC, that, well, listen to this. First year, 2026, what is the one thing NFL offenses are about to learn about you that college football already knew?
Starting point is 01:27:19 That's a really good question. Right, but that's what I'm saying. It would take some time to come up with an answer. And you're going to hear a lot of... Because... Is that a groove? Again, like I said, it was very... I'm giving your credit.
Starting point is 01:27:36 You did not just mail in your questions. She had kind of a list, a bunch of things, like, researched. Oh, you had been dealing, you talked to so-and-so, tell us about, you know, like, but it was funny that, so, okay, yeah, so what is this? What was the question again? One thing NFL offenses are about to learn about you that college football already knew. Yeah, I would just say, I'm a playmaker.
Starting point is 01:28:04 At the end of the day, I make plays, and that's what football's about. So, yeah, that's what I do. All right, Playmaker in 2026. Looking forward to seeing it. Thank you so much. I appreciate it. Tough to also, like, you're bragging on yourself, you know, like. That's what, as I think about the question more.
Starting point is 01:28:18 I'm kick ass. It makes it hard. And I'm, you know, really smart. And they think I'm a moron. There's a way you could answer it of, like, oh, I do the little things, right? Like, people, I was the first round draft pick, but I'm, like, a guy. who works like yeah but also but still that's bragging too it is it's
Starting point is 01:28:38 impossible but that's she also put a little stank on the end of that question too because she knew it was good you know that they didn't already know so offenses are about to learn about you that college football already knew all right and then of course you beat
Starting point is 01:28:52 yeah uh also same thing with dack I thought she's kind of getting deep with dac a little bit speaking of that Prescott, he is on the sideline with Nicole Hutchison. Oh, okay, but she's going to start this out in the way that Shottie starts press conferences. He is on the sideline with Nicole Hutchison.
Starting point is 01:29:16 Jack Prescott, it's always a pleasure. Just having fun. Shucks. We're just out here. We're having a great time. Listen closely to how she's actually. Jack Prescott, it's always a pleasure when I have the time to chat with you. Oh.
Starting point is 01:29:33 I'm normally too busy for you, Dak. You're always there ready to chat. Every time I leave this thinking we should do this more often. You think they buzz her at 3 in the morning? She's like, I got time. Anytime she's doing anything or is it like, yes. You know, whenever I have the... Jack Prescott, it's always a pleasure when I have the time to chat with you.
Starting point is 01:29:55 Anyway, but... You're entering year 11. What part of your rookie, I guess, that first walked into the Dallas Cowboys, Have you fought hardest to keep? That's a deep, deep, like you said. That would require some real thoughts, and give me a day or two, and I'll come back to you. Yeah. Like, what part of the rookie have you fought to keep?
Starting point is 01:30:18 You know, maybe you've become jaded by the business or you've been, you know, whatever. Like, what? Who am I, Odysseous? The childlike enthusiasm? Like, what are you, like? Keep it light. Right. And I just come down.
Starting point is 01:30:30 We're goofing around. We're laughing. Yeah, I'm here with Dak Prescott. Um, Dak, go deep into your psyche and what exactly? Which part of the trauma that you've lived through would you like to discuss right now? Right.
Starting point is 01:30:42 Let's see. How does he start his answer? Um. Um. Um. Um. We're going to have to put these against each other. So good.
Starting point is 01:30:53 Um. Um. Um. Hold on. Let me cue it up. We'll try for a three-way. Ready? Um.
Starting point is 01:31:01 Um. Um, that's Dax. Let's hear what Dack has to say about what part did you? Um, geez, yeah, just, it's flown by, honestly. You know what I mean? You said, right, 11 years ago, being in this game, really the third preseason game is where, you know, unfortunately Tony got hurt and took over from there. Okay, he lied there.
Starting point is 01:31:24 It wasn't unfortunate. He thinks that's great. And then he never really answered the question because it's just too deep and it would probably require therapy. and I'd be crying at the end of it. But sometimes when you prepare questions, you might also ask a question that answers the question. I think she kind of did that a little bit. All right.
Starting point is 01:31:50 This offense is trying to be goty, the greatest offense there is. What can this offense become truly in 2026? We can be guided. Just that is what that. What you said, our name. You know, we gave ourselves a name and we're going to try to live up to that standard. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:32:07 And I think she kind of did the same thing with George Pickens. Yeah, guys, joined by George Pickens. He's too cool, you know, for everybody over here. We're in the shade. Locking out everybody. But, George, I mean, one thing I've noticed that when you talk to the media, when you talk to me, you say, hey, it's always a good day when I'm around the guy's brotherhood, right? What has made this locker room truly one of one?
Starting point is 01:32:32 for you heading into your second year? I'll definitely say, like I say, the people. So like I said, she's well researched. She knows. She reads the, I know you said this, but then it's just like the, I'm going to repeat it. And I have one more. Well, just real quick. I don't know how to describe this exactly, but my aunt, my aunt,
Starting point is 01:32:57 and several of them over the years have had this same energy. Why do you Doesn't it feel dorky to have a player wearing sunglasses And you're like oh look who's too cool for school with sunglasses on What are you into are you into basketball now? You're wearing basketball jerseys to school Look at look at who's too cool man Mr. Cool we call him
Starting point is 01:33:18 He's his future's too bright That's why he's got to wear shades Like this dude This is like a top point oh oh oh one percent cool human being that exists right Yeah. And in normal circumstances, they're not interacting with anybody like me or like Nicole. Right.
Starting point is 01:33:37 And so there's not a lot of people. Like, it just feels like an S&L bit. Like, oh, look at his shiny sneakers. I don't know. So here is, okay, a little more pickings. And then... He's too cool. The one thing that I did focus on last game, we're going to end with.
Starting point is 01:33:59 it'll, this is all part of the same cut. There is going to be a little, a little chemistry issue, I think, at the end. But this one is Nicole finishing up with George Pickens. After a year together with CD, what has brought out of, and you, and what do you feel like your presence has brought out in him? I feel like he brought out of me just more creativity, more freedom.
Starting point is 01:34:22 And then I feel like vice versa, honestly. I feel like before he always felt pressure, he always felt like he was under some constraints. me too at Distiller, so just definitely us having each other back. Can you guys be the best duo in the NFL this year? See, I wanted that. So we took it down a notch. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:34:37 This is serious. Can you guys be the best duo in the NFL this year? Now, he probably will say no. I mean, Puka and Devonty Adams in L.A. probably got us. Right. He's probably going to say probably the fourth or fifth best duo. If that, we don't have a lot of confidence, really. Just definitely us having each other back.
Starting point is 01:34:56 Can you guys be the best duo in the NFL this year? Oh, yeah, most definitely. Period. All right. Thank you so much. I appreciate you, GP. Back to you guys. Did I tell you my daughter's closed to everything now as period? Yeah. Great. That's just great.
Starting point is 01:35:09 Girls will be doing that on you. Oh, and then I forgot. We have a, we're going to have a Bill Jones-Isaiah standback exclamation point on this whole thing. Can you guys be the best to do on the NFL this year? Oh, yeah, most definitely. Period. All right. Thank you so much. I appreciate you, GP. Back to you guys. All right. Thanks to Nicole and George Pied. Dallas Cowboys sideline reports presented by LG.
Starting point is 01:35:32 OLEDEvo. Choose perfection. Choose LG. OLEDEvo. Check out the best TV in the game. Okay, I'll just go. I just have it. When he reads that, and he reads it 100 times a game, it's probably the way you're
Starting point is 01:35:48 supposed to say it, but I always just think of an LED TV. But then he says OLED. Yeah. But if he's saying it on the Cowboy broadcast 100 times, that must be the way the company wants it said. Correct. Yeah, you played it last week and he messed it up. Oh, he said L-E-D?
Starting point is 01:36:06 He said O-L-E-D. Which is wrong. Okay, that's what I would think is right, though. Yeah, so now it's like he's... It's an L-D-TV. He's slowing it down every time since to make sure he says it right. Doesn't sound better. Nope.
Starting point is 01:36:19 But you can tell that he's, you know, he can tell he's scared of it on the prompter. Okay. Is just... LG thinks they're getting their money's worth with these reads? I think so, because when you... mess something up, then it's more apt to be remembered. And then you're remembering it's not the LG that sucks. Very low energy.
Starting point is 01:36:36 It's me. Here, anyway, is the, don't forget what George Pickens was dressed like on the sideline, right? Check out the best TV in the game at LG.com. Bill, I just want to know, when did you have time to give George Pickens your glasses before the game? I was wondering where they went. Down on the sideline during the pregame show, countdown to kickoff and couldn't find them anywhere. That's really good.
Starting point is 01:37:11 Hey, before we move on, I just want to be super clear. To anyone listening, this in the blue shirt, say hi. Me? That's Blake. I'm Blake Jones. Blake Jones. That over there is Dan McDowell, the guy, if you pull us up on YouTube, he's been playing the audio most this time.
Starting point is 01:37:28 So if you work at another media company or you work anywhere else, Boy, they're in his head. No. I feel like this should be content at some point. We keep having a problem where these two idiots keep doing things that upset people. And somehow, all of those people keep thinking that it's just the show. Keep thinking that it's just me. I keep getting emails.
Starting point is 01:37:50 I keep hearing from people. You're the face of the show. You're the face franchise. I want to be very clear. You end the comedy show, not me. You told us. And Blake, you can find him at Cowboys games. works in the booth. The other guy is Dan. Okay? I just want to be very clear there are three of us,
Starting point is 01:38:10 particularly if you have complaints related to a female. Today's news is going to be brought to us by Brain Topia. That's something you're involved with, right? It is. I'll be there today. My kids are actually very excited about it. BraintopiaCenters.com. I've been a customer for a while now. It's really started when Julie got involved with Braintopia. It's neural feedback. They've got a dozen or so. Ladies be tripping. It's brought to us by ladies. Boy, you talk about.
Starting point is 01:38:41 You said Julie and I just thought of girls. Sorry. You found that fast. But if you deal with your kids deal with, ADHD, anxiety, if you've had traumatic brain injury, memory loss, sleep issues, substance abuse, learning disabilities. These are the sorts of things that a lot of times get tackled by medication. Give Brain Topia a try instead. first. Braintopia, or not instead, but maybe in conjunction with BraintopiaCenters.com, they will give you 20% off your brain map. So get the brain map done and then go from there.
Starting point is 01:39:16 It's BraintopiaCenters.com. All right. Some great insight there. Here's James. That's fantastic. I like that. Yeah. Let's see here. Denton has got a number of guys. Hell yeah. For a while there was a conspiracy guy whose car was... Birds aren't real.
Starting point is 01:39:44 Birds aren't real. He would be parked near the square, and Jubb actually had him in studio once. He was known around town, right? I've told you guys about Frisbee Dan, who was a fixture at the park in my college town. And you'll see these types of things in weird college towns. Well, there's a guy in Denton County who is known for dressing up as Spider-Man. What? And he's been doing this since COVID.
Starting point is 01:40:18 He dresses up and goes to children's hospitals to cheer up the kids. Okay, this story's going to end great. It doesn't end with him fingering a kid. It does end with... Then this story's going to end better than I thought. It does end with him recovering from near first. fatal snake bites. Ah.
Starting point is 01:40:43 That he suffered last week. Not spider bites. Bites. Many. Yeah, multiple. He runs a, I think they were at like a ranch, works at a nonprofit ranch. He was bitten twice.
Starting point is 01:41:00 Do you remember when we first met Dave? Dave at Game Day? Yeah, he'd just been attacked by a snake. Yeah, same thing. Like, he had a, he had like a month-long recovery or something. Yeah, they said. But thanks to Game Day.com, that time, was able to bounce right back. They just shot the test right into it.
Starting point is 01:41:18 He's been administered 30 vials of anti-venom, which I thought I was going to need to have on me a lot more as a kid. Oh, absolutely. I thought at some point you will be required to suck the venom right of a thing. Is that gay? It depends where the bite is. You're going to go get the venom out of your buddies, or Chinese dick trap.
Starting point is 01:41:48 What was with you with the D-Trap? Yeah, that's... Clearly, you want to suck on it. Yeah, I'd rather get the venom, bro. D-Trap, you just move in and touch and you're out. Yeah, I'd rather do that. No, I'm saying. You move in and touch and you're out.
Starting point is 01:42:03 Yeah, but then your buddy's not real happy. I want to make you happy, bro. You killed two birds with one stone for him. Yeah, yeah, we're having fun. But when I saw this story, I just started thinking... I've saved your life and... And I don't know the rest of this guy's life story, but we were talking the other day, oh, it was about someone we know who's going to, like, try to volunteer with a high school program.
Starting point is 01:42:24 And it's like, you hear about guys doing this to coach, right? Like you're maybe a grad assistant in college football and you're like, oh, I want to help. What's the process of saying, hey, I'm 42 and I'd like to be kind of a fixture at these children's hospitals now? I'm going to be here a lot. Yes. I don't have kids with me. I'm going to be dressed like Spider-Man. So it's not like I just come in wearing, you know, a poncho and some khakis.
Starting point is 01:42:57 Yeah, it's one of the million things of why it's harder to be a man. Sure. Because even like, what do you think of if your kid's first grade teacher is a dude? You know, you're like, hmm. All right. you know and that's not fair it's not we can't just choose any noble profession like that because we'll be accused of being a pedophile and i'm not going to stand for this anymore i'm voting blake
Starting point is 01:43:24 boy i would be worried about what all that entailed what things blake would institute if he was in charge you think it would be just everything's a little cheaper and values things make sense but then all of a sudden your dog's acting up and the city comes and takes it and smashes its fucking brains out in front of your house. Listen, but you saved $500. That's a great. Great point.
Starting point is 01:43:56 I got a fellow popped by the North Texas feds for an identity theft scheme. This one was taking place at gyms. This guy's name was Craig McLaughlin. South African man. He is accused of a string of using a bunch of aliases to enter gyms in the DFW area, steal patrons credit cards from unattended bags or unlock lockers, and then he would use them to purchase, whatever, meals, groceries, thousands and thousands of dollars. That's unfortunate.
Starting point is 01:44:38 The gym is a trusting place. You know, you kind of do think that. Like if it's a place where you can have your hog out, you shouldn't have to be worried about your credit card. Not in the same room. Here, here. I'm going to vote for Jake. I'm switching my vote. One of these was in Grapevine, Coppell, Plano, Richardson.
Starting point is 01:45:03 He's done a, he did a ton of it. Do we export them back to South Africa? I don't know how that. No, we don't have an extradition treaty with them. That was probably more like high school playground. Once I started getting a little more geopolitical but still had myths. It's like, oh, no, dude, they can't. We don't have a treaty with them.
Starting point is 01:45:26 What about? He's just free now. That works. What about, what do they call it? It's like a Swiss bank or the. Oh, yeah. Offshore account. Offshore account.
Starting point is 01:45:38 That was the thing as a kid. Definitely. Man, I tell you, you know, if you go to like, we went, on our baby moon I don't think I was made fun of enough for that at the time but we went to Grand Cayman and I remember if you get away from the resort a little bit you can find basically little
Starting point is 01:46:00 mailboxes that are just banks like that they have set up there I think what we made fun of you back then for was the fact that you went like in the height of COVID was it? It was pretty COVID-y. My daughter was born before COVID Your son
Starting point is 01:46:21 Didn't you go on a He was after We went to Grand Came in after she was I think I swear that was one I'm saying Carter was after COVID Yeah yeah but I don't think we did anything for that I thought he was on some COVID trip There's possibly I was flagrant with COVID
Starting point is 01:46:34 But Like well I'll give it to Dan And I'm going to take a trip Take it on the road Let's see This is this story This window's not opening But I'm just going to roll with it
Starting point is 01:46:46 So we told you last week about the story of the Fort Worth Star Telegram, having their press credential revoked by TCU. This was over the reporting. So it was initially voked. Right, right. You're walking around voked up. Then it was re-voked. That's right.
Starting point is 01:47:04 North Carolina's looking good for your playoff. Hell yet. I forgot. That was on my sports list, bro. No, it's not deleted. They're looking great. That was the most disgusting football game I have ever watched in my life. That's the way Belichick.
Starting point is 01:47:16 He does things. That was so gross. Who has the W? I mean, just give them the buy now. Unbelievable. They might not want the buy. Rest over rush. TCU's got lots of problems.
Starting point is 01:47:31 The least of which are Bill Belichick and the tar heels. Well, no, that's the thing. If you're facing that kind of a teen, you're like, what's going on? I don't know what we're doing. Everything we practiced won't work. I kind of thought a year or so in a Jordan Hudson, like she'd kind of whip Bill into shape.
Starting point is 01:47:46 a little bit. But he's still off that? He looks disgusting. I can't tell if it's fake or not. There are some people that say he's got nipple rings. I saw that. I saw the picture. I can't tell.
Starting point is 01:47:58 Ryan Day definitely has real nipple rings. That checks. Belichick, I'm not buying it. But, I mean, I also, none of this else would have checked my past muster previously. But in any case, back to the TCU story, they kicked out the Star Telegram. for their reporting on an incident that definitely did occur in their locker room on August 13th, where a wide receiver, Dozy Azucama, was knocked unconscious by a star safety transfer in from La Tech. There's been a lot of back and forth on what happened here.
Starting point is 01:48:38 The guy who knocked him unconscious got run? Yeah, he got run. And as of this weekend, he's in jail. He turned himself into Tarrant County County. For what? He's sucker punched him. I mean, he fucked this guy up. Like, just because it happened in a locker room, you can't, I mean, it's not on a football field.
Starting point is 01:48:55 This is like a straight up. Now, Dozy in one video, said he was sucker punched, and then when his head hit the ground, he was unconscious. There's differing, I guess, accounts of how this happened. But in any case, the dude is, he's arrested. He kicked off the team. and yeah i'm not exactly sure where this leaves the star telegram i know i've heard from plenty of my tCU friends that have issues with the way that it was characterized i guess initially but i uh you know it's college football somebody's ox is being gourd uh have you heard about
Starting point is 01:49:38 the flood that occurred at the grand canyon yeah some guy died well or more than one. I have the local angle for you. There's a chiropractor from Granbury who was hiking with his wife, or I guess with a group, and they're missing. 15 people are missing. One person at least killed. Just a massive, like a flash storm that just boom.
Starting point is 01:50:06 Did you see the one last week, like in Thailand or somewhere? I did, and I know that this sounds, it's not really, it's probably racist. but it's kind of like looking at the history books and you're like, oh, okay. What do you mean? Like, why are you living there? No, more like the Stalin thing of a statistic. It just feels like
Starting point is 01:50:25 100,000 Asian people die in a flood every few years and it barely seems to register on the world. Like, that shit feels like it happens all the time. Massive, massive flooding. Do you see the photos or video? The bridge just getting overtaken? Yeah, it looked like the... and Superman when the dam burst.
Starting point is 01:50:47 We all saw that. We all remember that. That's a good reference. What year? What year? What year is the Superman movie that you refer to the most? Well, it's been available for a long time. It's available that last year.
Starting point is 01:51:06 It was out on, you can get it on HBO or something. Okay. Because I've never seen it, and I would for you. The year. I believe it was made in 1978 with Christopher Reeves Star Wars I think
Starting point is 01:51:21 maybe 77 but we were talking a lot of Star Wars this weekend at the house My dad My dad must have been in the first downs too Blake Because I remember seeing it With my dad and my little brother But it was like at a local church
Starting point is 01:51:37 On a big screen And they had a projector We had a projector We had a bag of popcorn. Like somehow, maybe it was a year after it came out or something. I don't know. But I just remember on one of the dad weekends, him taking us to see Superman,
Starting point is 01:51:53 but it was the most beaten-down movie I've ever seen. But I loved it. I took Brooks to a McDonald's play place yesterday and paid for his happy meal with points. Oh, wow. Yeah. What do you eat? First down.
Starting point is 01:52:09 Happy meal? What's wrong with a nice? Happy meal sharing it with your boy. You get one too. Isn't that fun? No, I haven't done that. Oh. But not opposed.
Starting point is 01:52:20 I can feel like enough food. Get a couple. Okay. Let's see. What else do we want to make sure we get to? You get a little toy. This is a... What's the toy?
Starting point is 01:52:34 He's pretty tired of the Hello Kitty toy right now. Wasn't a big fan of the World Cup toy either. What was that? These little plush toys that were soccer related. Does he hate soccer? No. He's... He's...
Starting point is 01:52:52 He's... He's... He's... He's... He's... No, no. We got practice tonight. He's all about soccer right now. Yeah, same. It's...
Starting point is 01:52:58 It's weird. You know, you don't want to feel like you're forcing your kid into anything. But my son... And obviously, dude, Nora never in a million years, would request this, let alone sit down for it. He just wants to watch ball. Like he knows that there's soccer on 24 hours a day. Anytime you want to see soccer, dude, we're watching, like, Turkish third division the other night.
Starting point is 01:53:23 Did you cause this because you're making him play FIFA? Yeah, probably. And that's where I think I kind of, like, messed up. But then it started making me think about, like, he doesn't really, like, Blake's son watching people play video games, right? It seems really weird. But my son, he started playing FIFA, and now when he watches soccer, like, it looks the same to him.
Starting point is 01:53:45 He gets excited. It's like it taught him how to watch. It's a gateway. He'll be like, pass, pass, you should pass. And it's like, holy shit, dude. I actually want to watch a movie because we'll go to sleep, right? He wants to. He's getting fired up.
Starting point is 01:54:01 And he's like, no, no, let's put on some ball. So let's see the key plays on YouTube TV. Rockwall Mental Care Facility Workers facing multiple sexual assault charges. After police say he engaged in a relationship with a 67-year-old patient with dementia. I am so obsessed with crime radar. It's not even funny. Get some good stuff this weekend? I get Rockwall News.
Starting point is 01:54:28 Yeah, because I'm over that way. What's this guy's age? 24. Ooh. Yeah. Classic May December romance. That's what I say. The victim's daughter found text and phone calls between the victim.
Starting point is 01:54:49 caused a little concern. Is she living the life, though? Is this great? She's nailing a 24-year-old. The victim told... Victim. Told police that the guy said that he loved her and wanted to marry her
Starting point is 01:55:06 and gave her code words to disguise their relationship. Sounds like she's having a great time. Yeah, I mean, this sounds like Belichick and his girlfriend. But again, the guy... When the guy's the younger one, all of a sudden... It's like, oh, no. Now we must be praying on her. That's just ridiculous.
Starting point is 01:55:27 I have always known the two of you to be romantics, so I hear you. I feel like probably dementia avoids the ability to consent, no matter how in love she is. Who's dementia, though? Whose definition? Yeah, I guess that's a good point. Who's dementia? Is our best. It's really really gross.
Starting point is 01:55:55 Does she have full-blown dementia? Or is it like sometimes? Is it like Alzheimer's? Well, it doesn't say. I mean, it says that she was texting and calling with the guy. You know, it says she's been in this care facility for about a year. So it's not like it's long, long-term. You know?
Starting point is 01:56:12 We heard from a listener of ours whose mom was getting down. But you can't be doing it with a worker. I don't think. And then... She just wants a clear head. I'm going to tell you about something actually that happened last weekend, and we'll close with this so that Dan can kind of fill you guys in on a bit he's cooking on. Last weekend on Saturday night, early Sunday morning,
Starting point is 01:56:38 a man was arrested facing four counts of aggravated assault after allegedly shooting three people in Deep Ellum. DeMont Hardy, 23 years old, arrested in charge. This, I tell you, because Dan would like us to maybe start canvassing Deep Ellum on the weekend for content a little more after he was out there experiencing the nightlife. To which I would just say there's a sundown type. And in talking to Dan is when I realized I'm washed now. Because I said to Jake, I went walking around Deep Ellum after. the comedy show.
Starting point is 01:57:23 Just to see and be seen and what's going on. So let me walk down the whole way to the highway type and then back. There's a lot going on. You just stop in a store here and there. Let me check in this vintage t-shirt shop
Starting point is 01:57:38 or whatever, right? And there's just bits galore. And I said, we should start, we should, T.C.'s already down there. He's got the camera and everything. early comedy show it's done at 630 let's just go take a walk down the street
Starting point is 01:57:54 and we'll do man on the street type stuff and because we all our big thing is we want to go viral now right Henry's making the gram a lot better than it ever was and all that's the whole goal in life right is to go viral and so we'll call it the DZGV
Starting point is 01:58:10 because it's the dumb zone goes viral that's our goal and we're just going to talk to lots of people and bits and to we find our own Hawk Tua. Yeah, Jake is just like... I'm sure I won't go down there past 8thia. Yeah, he's like, this is your bit, dude.
Starting point is 01:58:29 Well... Deep Ellen, man. That's scary. You ever watch Dallas, Texas TV? I know you're not supposed to... This is very nimbie of me, but... There's just a lot going on. And here's T.C.'s answer when we threw it at him yesterday.
Starting point is 01:58:42 He's like, they're not attacking the camera people. They're attacking each other. Whoa, who is each other? People, other people, people and people. All people. People. Be people. Men, women.
Starting point is 01:58:59 Men, people, women, people. I think it's a great idea. I'll meet you down there, okay? You let me know. I said just after a... Come so, new. Like and subscribe. Let's talk.

Starting point is 02:00:28 I need a dealership baby Happy birthday Thank you A couple of year mail birthdays today Please wait Oh no that's for Tuesday Greetings Gadoff Slittler I want to make an SG shout out
Starting point is 02:00:52 To my son for his second birthday It's been two years since he violently escaped from my wife's hoo-hoo his leaders are Spider-Man, trash truck, and milksheds. I politely asked for... Me too. For all of them.
Starting point is 02:01:10 I politely asked for some name ratings from the baby name Tsar Jake. So I think he has two kids. Luca Dean. And then the other one is Lira Lay-Lee Barron.
Starting point is 02:01:28 L-E-A-L-A-A-A-A-A-A B-A-R-R-O-N A lot going on That's from Travis I'll take the first one first I mean obviously that's a tough draw Luca Yeah Dean is a cool name
Starting point is 02:01:44 But Luca Dean feels like a Country Star who uses AI Dude it's his second birthday I'm just destroying it No he's like six months old and Luca gets traded And then the other one I like the name Lira but I don't know can you give your kids
Starting point is 02:02:02 I did three names. Three names. I guess you can, right? I mean, you can, but you're kind of saying, like, no, I'm kind of, my creativity kind of can't really be held to two names. I just have too much in me. Yeah. Dear Miss Jizzle of the Magic Bang Bus,
Starting point is 02:02:23 I'd like to wish my wife Allison a happy 32nd birthday. Things have been rocky between us ever since she shit on my dear. easy What a Burger car tray. We're just keeping it together for the kids. Leaders are two-way WNBA player Ennis Cantor, the quarterly WNBA season, and Blake's high body count. Keep chasing those imps and grabbing Life by the Box from Garrett.
Starting point is 02:02:55 She did what on the tray? Yeah. Is that a literal? Not what that's for at all. I wouldn't... For sauces. I wouldn't think it's literal, but... You know, everybody interprets it in their own way.
Starting point is 02:03:07 What is the format of the WNBA's playoffs? People have kings. I think your spring winner plays the fall winter. I want to go. And then you get the number one pick if you win it all. Best of three first round? I don't know. Let's go.
Starting point is 02:03:28 I want to go. You have fun. Dear Uncle Daniel, this is my last viewer mail birthday. Dear Uncle Daniel, the Poon Bandle, would like to wish my friend Josh a happy David Sanborn birthday his leaders are Sarah's hungry hungry heppelas and the Dan versus Claude segment Did you go crawling back to it?
Starting point is 02:03:54 What do you mean? No, I used it today for something. Yeah, you did. But I had to yell at it to get another one on there. Stop, move on. Such an abusive relationship with AI. You'll be hearing how I used it. coming up in today in history. I got a little crossways with mine, too.
Starting point is 02:04:12 Not fully, but just like, I was doing some, I had it make like a, basically I wanted to see the target, the share of targets by height for the last 30 years in the NFL, like to prove a point, right? And to myself. But the formatting, it had listed all the heights, and they all said, like, June 1, June 2, June 3, May 9, and I was like, no, this is formatted incorrectly.
Starting point is 02:04:41 These are dates, not numbers. That's fine, but I need to check to make sure that this didn't actually affect the calculations. And it replied, there are no dates in this document. Oh. Oh. And I screenshoted it. You're bitch. And I was like, no, there are.
Starting point is 02:05:03 Fix it. Guys are arguing the robot. I'm sorry. I missed that. It will apologize. It will apologize. It's usually right, but I was like, listen, motherfucker, you don't have a union, okay? Again, it's a robot.
Starting point is 02:05:17 What are we doing? Why are we being nice to it? Oh, I'm not trying to be nice to it. I don't, but I certainly not going to give me fucking lip. Why do you feel better about yourself whenever it apologizes to you? Perhaps incongruent, I concede. Because he's not winning any other arguments in that house. That's a really good point.
Starting point is 02:05:37 Anyway, and the leader's era, my leader used to be Blake. Oh, man. Same. Until he became a non-confrontational pussy when someone sat in his assigned seat on a plane. They had a big platter of food in front of them. Boy, I should have known you were going to sell me up the river then. When you lost your fastball on the plane. He had kids and he got soft.
Starting point is 02:06:00 It happens. But you know what the thing is, though, is he's much more repeatable on his rollouts now. Yep. Or whatever Joe Milton got out of having. I'm not patient enough to go through my progressions. What about like all the guys who have 12 kids in the NFL? Oh, look how patient he is. A bet payoff idea.
Starting point is 02:06:24 Loser goes to a Mavs game wearing a shirt with the words, Bring Back Nico. I got a really, I mean, I don't know if it's really funny, but I got one similar that you have to stand or sit out front with a table and a sign that says Nico was right, change my mind. That's a good bit. The Stephen Crowder bit. That is a good bit.
Starting point is 02:06:46 And Stephen Crowder beat his wife. He was pretty mean to her. And then a guy that he fired was like, hey, I have some bad stuff to stay about Stephen Crowder. Not gay Jared? And then Stephen Crowder was like, you're not allowed to say that. And then Matt Bruning was like, the fuck you're not. And Stephen Crowder had to pay him like 200 grand.
Starting point is 02:07:05 Nice. dubs all around. All I do is win. That's right, baby. Game Day Men's Health presents on this day in history. So Game Day Men's Health, I would like to focus today. Well, just as I started to say, I would like to focus on one thing, then I remembered. There's all kinds of copy points now for Game Day Men's Health.
Starting point is 02:07:33 We've got new stuff going on, but one of the main things is if you go to, to any game day men's health, 12 area locations. And you get a free testosterone test. So as they draw your blood, they will check for, can't they check kind of prostate cancer in that same one? It can. But they get your testosterone levels. And then you can do a consultation after, if you wish,
Starting point is 02:08:01 and just talk about, is TRT replacement right for you? Maybe it's not. maybe they can help you in some different ways but the point is just go in get that free test and say that you'd like to be entered into the drawing to win game day box seats here in the den high atop my garage
Starting point is 02:08:21 for one of our game watching parties the first game watching party is in two weeks Sunday the 13th so if you want to be in on that the possibility the odds are pretty good right now You know, there's not as many people in the contest as there will be later. So why not go there? Just stop in.
Starting point is 02:08:42 Put your name. Any game day men's health location. They're also online, gameday.dumzone.com. You can go there and see where all those locations are. Get yourself feeling good. They got the solutions for you. At gameday.dumzone.com. So this is today in history for Monday, August 31st.
Starting point is 02:09:05 on this day in 1988. Were you an alive person in 1988? Nope. What was your birth year? 91. Well, in 1988, a Delta Boeing 727 crashed during takeoff at DFW International Airport. This was a big deal because I had flown back for a, from Uncle Gary's house a couple weeks earlier.
Starting point is 02:09:45 14 people killed. It was later blamed on the cruise failure to set the wing flaps in their proper position. Don't forget that, folks. It wasn't because somebody didn't put their phone in airplane mode. It may have been that. They're trying to cover that up, maybe. On this day in 1990, Ken Griffey and Ken Griffey Jr. became the first father-son duo to play on the same team at the same time.
Starting point is 02:10:16 Share with his dad. They hit back-to-back singles in the first inning and both scored. On this day in 1996, here's a very odd, would you call this an ironic? I don't know if the irony is. Let me give you the story and then you tell me how to label this odd story, okay? So in 1996 on this day, there's three adults and four children in a vehicle.
Starting point is 02:10:50 Must have been some kind of a minivan or something. Station wagon, perhaps. They all drowned when their vehicle rolled into John D. Long Lake in Union, South Carolina. So why did they even drive to that lake? They went to see a monument at the lake. It was a monument to the sons of Susan Smith. She is a woman who had drowned these boys in October 1994. So two years later, seven people go to see the monument.
Starting point is 02:11:27 And then they, something went awry and they drowned. It's not irony, but it's something. I mean, I have so many questions. Did they get a statue, too? I have so many questions. Were they trying to like recreate the scene or something? Like what, how do you, I don't know.
Starting point is 02:11:52 What do you think she did? I don't know. She probably just drove. And it's like not, lots of stuff could happen with my car. It ending up in a lake with like that with me driving super low on the list. I mean, I don't know how we don't know more about this story. Like were they trying to do a social media media? bit like the Cowboys on the plane where they're all like frozen.
Starting point is 02:12:19 Oh, we've got to do that at GSC. Yep. You ruined everything, Blake. There's a lot going on. On this day in 2011, Texas A&M announced it would leave the Big 12 to join the Southeastern Conference. Boy, what a day. Remember that?
Starting point is 02:12:39 Big deal. Then Johnny Mansell started kicking ass. It's Texas's fault. Why? The Longhorn Network. Oh. Set all this in motion. And really, in a lot of ways, probably broke college football.
Starting point is 02:12:56 I blame them. All right. I'm with you. On this day in 2019, a gunman carried out a shooting rampage that stretched 10 miles between Midland and Odessa. Seven people dead before police killed him outside a movie theater in Odessa. And it's August 31st, this day in Dumb Zone history. Just one show on this day. It was in 2022.
Starting point is 02:13:22 Julie was sitting in. And this must have come up in the segment, but I think I wrote it down as a possible bet payoff. You have to renew your vows. Wow. What would you rather do that or jump out of an airplane? How many times do I jump out of the airplane? Hot air balloon.
Starting point is 02:13:47 I'll jump out of the hot air balloon. I'm not renewing my vows. That's... Got a ceremony. We're definitely going to be there heckling you. Dude. It would be awesome. Can we write your vows?
Starting point is 02:14:04 Yeah. Let us write them. That sounds horrible. Not quite as horrible as the details surrounding the second group of people that drown, though. Have you ever thought, I don't know, you'd probably go and do it. But I thought, what if my wife asked me to go to marriage counseling? Would I go ahead and do it?
Starting point is 02:14:29 Like, I haven't done it before. Oh, no. Some form, I'm sure. I'm trying to think if I have. I'm sure I have. Yeah. Wouldn't you just do it just to talk about it on the show? Yeah, they love that.
Starting point is 02:14:42 Roll on it while I'm there. Yeah. You're not going to believe it. You're listening to what she said about the show. She's crying. And then A couple of Dan things Dan wants a chef
Starting point is 02:14:55 I don't remember why you said that I would love to have a chef And then Dan loves prison stuff What do you mean? Like shows? Like every man Dan thinks he could escape prison in 30 years Oh
Starting point is 02:15:09 The Andy Dufrain They're very slow I don't know What was it you said right before prison Chef Oh, the chef. Wouldn't that be great? If you just had that kind of money, if I had LeBron money,
Starting point is 02:15:26 I'm having a driver and a chef, absolutely. You know how it's taught, eating healthy is very difficult. Dejan Love had one. I saw he got traded to the Rams. All I did all weekend, dude. Great videos. All I did all weekend. There's one this morning my buddy sent me where this video he sent to this lady.
Starting point is 02:15:49 He says that. his family is the part owner of three Gucci stores, which you don't really like part owner in store. It's really weird. Then there's a part where he's like, yeah, the last couple years, teams have been calling me to play, and I was just like, no, man, football's dangerous. I don't have to like go practice and all that shit.
Starting point is 02:16:14 But then they just kept on me. So, you know, this year I signed with the 49ers. That's just kind of how it works. You know? It kind of is. But then my buddy was like, man, you're already working out all the time anyways. Just go do this. The NFL is just a trip up to 24.
Starting point is 02:16:34 But then, you know what? The other part of it that people were breaking down was like, because what's the first thing everybody says? How could this bitch? How could any of these women fall for this? But you know what? Then you find all these posts from these women while they were. falling for it and they're all like, I'm done with all these broke boys.
Starting point is 02:16:56 I'm going out with an NFL player tonight. I finally leveled up. Like they can't wait to tell everyone that they got on. Anyone who's scammed often. Scam, scammer. You were looking to cut a corner and that's why they were able to scam you. Yeah, I guess that's true. Not anyone who's scammed.
Starting point is 02:17:17 Just in case I ever get scammed. I just need to throw it out there. Jalen Brunson is 30. Other birthdays here. The King of New York. I'm extremely happy for him. How could you not be? I'm so glad that it's an amazing story.
Starting point is 02:17:34 I honestly would have been happy. What if he beat Luca and with the Mavs? You'd still be like, oh, shit, this was awesome. Let's run it back. There's a way you could have been excited for him. Yeah, I would have been super happy because then Luca's still on the Mavs in your scenario here. Yeah.
Starting point is 02:17:51 Like, just being happy for Jalen didn't have to mean we lose Luka. Jordan Lewis is 31 Former cowboy Really enjoyed talking to him Joe Looney is 36 Same We talked to him right Well let's keep it going
Starting point is 02:18:09 Jeff Fry is 60 Less fun Less fun He wants you to put that bat Right down Perhaps on the first base line Perfectly as you But then what was his bit?
Starting point is 02:18:25 He needed to sing for the cycle and put one in the gap and stopped it first? Yeah. Like every one of these guys that are like, oh, the players today, and you go back and look, and it's like, oh, yep, well, here's Brett Far falling down for Michael Strahan. Everything's fake. Everything is fake.
Starting point is 02:18:44 Sauce Gardner is 25. Is he still good? He looked awesome this weekend. You know how I know? Because that's one of the preseason games I watch with my three-year-old. Drake May is 24. Tom? You're ready for the, we should have the regression.
Starting point is 02:19:01 We don't ever have that. What's the opposite of the comeback player of the war? The dumb zone should award that. Because that guy's about to fall on his face. Now, the A.J. Brown thing is definitely... First-place schedule. There's a lot, yeah. You're winning games by three points.
Starting point is 02:19:14 Or was it the second place? It was an easy schedule. Yeah. You're saying this year, yeah, yeah. He's... Were they... The fact that he was second his MVP voting is fraudulent. Some would have said that about the year Dac was.
Starting point is 02:19:33 It's fraudulent because he should have won. Tom Candiotti is 69. Knuckleball? Indians knuckleballer. It's really the only one I knew growing up. Von Hayes is 68. Bon Hayes was a Cleveland Indian prospect, a young player who was traded for five players.
Starting point is 02:19:55 One of them was Julio Franco, a very young Julio Franco. Tom Coughlin is 80, former Giants coach. Man. Larry Fitzgerald is 43, former Clemson. Wide receiver. That's how people usually think of them. All right, let me see if you shared a kids' playground myth about this guy. Richard Geer is 77.
Starting point is 02:20:26 Of course. That's as much as the Rod Stewart thing, Richard Geer had a gerbil in his anus. Yeah, it wasn't until later that I realized that you would have to have like a PVC pipe or something. But, yeah. Richard Gear can afford that. Chris Tucker is 54. Marsha Clark is 73, the OJ trial prosecutor. Chris Tucker, probably the name that you have the most when you see it on the Epstein files.
Starting point is 02:21:00 Because it's everywhere. Wow. He was flying with. with J.E. himself quite often. Is Chris Tucker banging kids? Big time. Damn. It's too bad.
Starting point is 02:21:11 That's why he would ask him if they understood the words that were coming out of his mouth and say, no, I'm too young. You say perfect. Debbie Gibson, singer is 56. What does she do? She bangles? I don't know. Gina Shock is 69, excuse me. She's with the go-goes.
Starting point is 02:21:33 We have Larry Hank in his 88. Says here the old guy in Home Alone, Billy Madison and Friends. Wow. Mr. Heckles. You recognize him? I do now. An extremely unique look.
Starting point is 02:21:53 He's funny. Jeff Hardy is 49. Clayton. Of the boys. Tag team. Pro wrestler. Rat birthdays. Joe Buzz.
Starting point is 02:22:12 Udden is 46. You know what that is? Yeah. Has become much more popular as a podcaster. You call him for the ball back there or no? Henry? We got a Henry birthday? Yeah, I got one.
Starting point is 02:22:27 Brittany Mahomes is 31. Oh, all right. She used to hand me a towel at the start of gym class or my workout at APEC. She was an intern. When you were... Yeah. It was crazy. Boxing training?
Starting point is 02:22:44 No, when I first started working out at the gym where Moms works out. Oh, okay. She was home for the summer interning there. She looks different now. And our Dumbzone birthday of the day, let's see here. Can I show you audio to illustrate
Starting point is 02:23:05 who's our Dumbzone birthday of the day? Hideo. Hideo Nomo is 58. No, 16, He don't really see him anymore, like ever. Did he go back? He must have. Born in this day now dead, Maria Montessori. Thank you, Miss Maria.
Starting point is 02:23:50 Do your kids go to Montessori? She did. Okay. Mine did too. I'm always interested in the kid that goes to Montessori through high school. Very rare. I just, I wonder, I would like to see, is there a study done? I mean, is there, have we seen Montessori adults and they're like awesome?
Starting point is 02:24:13 Like, Sade is a homeschool guy, right? That's not, how did he play football in high school? Was he not homeschool? I didn't think so. Wait, who am I thinking of? Damn, was that just a shot at Sod? No. Hey, so this guy seems weird.
Starting point is 02:24:29 This must be because... Sorry, Saad. V.J. Boyd is homeschool. That makes sense. He's a... Tebow was homeschool. Who? A writer man.
Starting point is 02:24:37 Who? Tim Tebow was homeschooled. So... He was able to play. We've got homeschool success stories. Where's the one person? We're going to be like, hey, Montessori through high school. Look how well it worked.
Starting point is 02:24:51 I guess if it did. Start going to an arts magnet high school or something. Maybe you get more... I got no idea. Also born in the stay now dead, Jim Fossel. And he's the one I yelled at, Claude this morning about.
Starting point is 02:25:06 Because I wanted to know what is the... Because John Fossil interim coached the Rams. Bones was the head coach of the Rams for a few games. Do you remember that? Oh, yeah. Like he was on hard knocks or something, and they were showing him, like,
Starting point is 02:25:22 taking pictures on the sideline with his wife and kids. Like, clearly he knew... I'm not getting another head coaching shot. I better soak this in, which he did. He went 0 and 3. But so I had to yell at Claude to say, hey, include them when I'm asking the question, when I need to know the combined regular season wins
Starting point is 02:25:46 for each father's son duo in NFL coaching history. Because the worst is the Callahan's. Bill and Brian are 22 and 44 together. The fossils together are 58, 56, and 1. Then we have the Ryans with 116 wins. The Mora's with 156 wins. Baum and Wade Phillips. Oddly enough, both of them have 82 wins.
Starting point is 02:26:25 164 total. and the third most winningest duo is the shoties bro with 207 career wins the 200 for Marty it's a little get your looks in now
Starting point is 02:26:47 it's a little Wayne and Brent Gretzky if we're looking at the stats here dude go look Blake if you haven't at like the end of Marty's run in San Diego oh yeah they're the one scene every year. That's why that Quentin Jammer
Starting point is 02:27:02 the other day was tweeting out like how much he supports Brian Schottenheimer and just like when Jerry hired him he was like, yeah, I don't really know the guy all that much, but I loved his dad. And he was like, you know, I think the Cowboys were playing the Chargers or something and he was like,
Starting point is 02:27:18 yeah, I hope he succeeds because he can stick it in the face of the Chargers, fuck them for what they did to Marty. I'm like, what's that? I don't know those specifics, but I know getting fired after 14 and two. And they lost by like a field goal in the playoffs.
Starting point is 02:27:36 They just ran it. All right. Almost as insane as the way Brian got his job. Truly. You know? All right. 13 and 3 out in the first round. 13 and 3 out in the first round.
Starting point is 02:27:52 12 and 4 out in the first round. 14 and 2 out in the first round. I mean it's five straight. I guess it's Sean McDermott. And he would never coach again. because that year he got fired. Jerry was in the market for a new coach. And he hired Wade Phillips,
Starting point is 02:28:07 Marty's defensive coordinator instead. Yeah. And that shows Jerry loved Marty, but he didn't love his, I want to do things my way. He hired Wade because Wade said, whatever you want, Jerry, you do your thing and I'll just be along for the ride.
Starting point is 02:28:25 Marty Schottinheimer's like, I know how to do things. I'm going to run things my way. and Jerry's like, I just got rid of Parcells, bro. Yeah. We're doing fine now. How about Wade Phillips? You'll be taking Jason Garrett.
Starting point is 02:28:40 Yeah, yeah. Marty Schottenheimer's like, I will have my own offensive coordinator. His name's Brian. Yeah. So anyway, yeah. But the, yeah, Don and Dave Shula. God, Dave Shula is horrible. It's so bad.
Starting point is 02:28:59 You get a lot of years. Bro, you think he's bad? He went 19 and 52. Like, how do you get that many years to keep proving you're horrible? Again, we don't really ever talk about this, but the worst, and this doesn't fit with your list, the worst is Marty's brother. Kurt. Kurt's coaching CV is. I know Kurt was like the Browns Special Team something or, you know.
Starting point is 02:29:24 Go look at Kurt Schottenheimer's page. It's just Special Teams assistant coordinator. like everywhere Marty was coach. Secondary coach, secondary coach, special teams, defensive volunteer. I wonder if Uncle Kurt, is he in the Cowboys Scouting Department yet? I don't know. I feel like Shottie is really good at being like, yeah, I'll call you back. And hires guys that aren't his uncle.
Starting point is 02:29:53 That's irony. That's your bit. Dead on the stay still dead. Mary Ward, the first person killed in a motor vehicle accident in 1869. Also died on this day in 1997, Princess Diana. How fast could she have been going? In 1896. 1869, right?
Starting point is 02:30:17 69. An automobile at that time. What is she dying? It just says motorized vehicle. Motor vehicle. So it moved and it had a motor. Princess Dye died on this day in 1997. That means my buddy Ed got married on this day.
Starting point is 02:30:38 Mary Ward, sorry. What happened? Mary Ward is listed as a scientist. Like, what sort of science was she doing? You just feel any scientist in 1869? I don't think. Does there some ridicule? A little bit, yeah.
Starting point is 02:30:54 Dude, how 1800s is this? She and her husband Henry were traveling. in it with the Parsons boys. Yeah. Oh, Parsons Boys. Not the Parsons Boys. Did it like roll over or something? Yeah, she fell under its wheels.
Starting point is 02:31:10 That's got to be the slowest. Yeah. And died on this day in 2023, Gil Brantz, which explains the break. You know. And that's what happened on this day in history. Closing remarks brought to you by Frankl Frankl personal injury attorneys if you Nigel get side swiped on your way home where do you live awesome oh man plenty opportunity yeah good luck with that thanks like you probably will yeah almost
Starting point is 02:31:47 definitely i'm going to load this on my phone be ready to press the button as soon as you get hit yeah i wish somebody would put it on your put make it the favorites but put it third on the favorites right because it's 214 or 817, then dial all threes. It's Frankel and Frankel. They will fight for you. They will fight those insurance companies that they actually used to work for. And they felt really bad about that whole situation. Then they'd look across and see I've won a big,
Starting point is 02:32:15 I've kept the money out of that guy's hands, that guy who will never walk again. I've saved that money from this big business. And they thought, it's hard to go to sleep at night when you do that kind of thing. So they decided they will work for the little guy, for the guy in the wheelchair, the guy who is in an accident. So give them a call or check out frankelfirm.com. 214.817, then all three's Frankl and Frankel.
Starting point is 02:32:42 Now we go back to not from Manchester. No. Nigel. He's from Austin. Are you from up here or what? I was here for 10 years, yeah. I went to SMU, stayed here for six more years. I moved to Austin in 2008.
Starting point is 02:33:00 Oh, you got in right at the right time. Yeah. You got changed rapidly afterwards, yeah. Property, I would imagine, much cheaper at the time. It was. I didn't have money to buy property at the time, but yeah. Did you come up today? It was all a field.
Starting point is 02:33:16 I came out last night. Okay. Yeah. You saw a family you're in the like or no. I was supposed to actually bring my buddy Luke, who the interesting story is, well, I think it's interesting maybe you won't but we were at uh we had a sit-in at bad radio back in the day nice and bob was out that day and it was uh the dan and jake show and i remember afterwards we're like they're great together they're awesome so it's been really cool it's very uh attached to
Starting point is 02:33:44 what you guys were doing uh when you left and they've been very very excited for what you guys been doing with the dumb zone since so you two are kind of the reason you first predicted it you saw. Yeah, sure. This can be a thing, yeah. I knew it would work if it did. So let me try this again. What video games are you in?
Starting point is 02:34:03 So I work at a company called Devolver Digital, and it's like an indie music label, but for games. And so we work with PC, console, sometimes mobile, but mostly PC and console stuff. So I was real excited when Blake starts talking about video games. So does somebody come to you guys, like with the game's done, and it's your job to sell it to people or is it? No, it's much earlier. Okay. No, they're the developer, but they will come to us from all over the world.
Starting point is 02:34:30 Usually we work with pretty small teams, but they'll say, hey, we have this idea. We might have a prototype, and they share it with this, and they need funding, they need support for marketing, localization, testing, everything that goes besides making the game itself. So we give them that. It's invent help for video games. Yeah, sure. I've been thinking about invent help a lot lately. I don't know why.
Starting point is 02:34:53 What is it? Yeah, remember when you watch like family feud or like daytime TV. The caveman is making the wheel. The caveman banging on the wheel. is like, do you have an idea for an invention? my ideas, right? Like, I just call, here he is again,
Starting point is 02:35:26 feed him another winner. It's just another bucket. There he goes. That's fun, though. Is that, like, was that, I don't know, by trade, but did you,
Starting point is 02:35:36 are you in tech? I know. I was, like, when I was in middle school, I knew I wanted to do advertising, and I was working here in Dallas doing advertising
Starting point is 02:35:45 after school. When I was in middle school. Yeah, I was weirdly into the, we used to, we used to make those videos in school where you'd, like, Hey, your assignment is to do the Odyssey or whatever. And the first thing we'd want to do is just make videos and entertain people and be informative.
Starting point is 02:36:01 And I've weirdly always liked that. That's super cool. And so I wanted to get out of advertising because it made me want to kill myself, watching people, like worry about for six hours what a hot pocket looks like. Like I worked on that. In fact, the coolest thing I ever did, it was the Crustios thing. We did that here in Dallas when we changed the 7-Elevens over to the for the Simpsons movie. That was the last thing I did in advertising basically
Starting point is 02:36:24 I was like I got to do something else It's either I want to move to Austin And I want to either work in sports or video games It's the things I care about And the Austin job was for I interviewed for the Austin I think they weren't ice bats then they were They had already moved to the Texas stars
Starting point is 02:36:42 I think it was and they stood me up on my interview And the other one was the video game company I got into that and I got that job And I've been working in video games ever since So at the Crescia he's pointing at on my one of my shelves I have a box of Krusty Krusty the clown Cheerios or whatever
Starting point is 02:36:57 So what is that You guys invented that? 7-Eleven Had a big partnership with Fox for the Simpsons movie When it came out And they said The pitch that we made to them
Starting point is 02:37:09 Was let's change some 7-Elevens Around the country into Quiky Marts And they gave us You were in like the meeting That came up with that idea? Yeah, yeah, yeah That's awesome And we sat me and my buddy Sterling
Starting point is 02:37:20 who still lives here, he still works in advertising. We sat with a writer in a room for two weeks and just what can we do in a fucking 7-Eleven to make it look like a Quickey Mart. Just had pictures up in the wall and what products could we make. I think we could make Duff Beer, but we could make the cola.
Starting point is 02:37:35 We made all sorts of stuff. Was Krustios? I guess that was probably already on the Simpsons. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. It was from the Simpsons. And so we got to do that. And everyone at the agency flew out to a different 7-Eleven to help convert the facade on the front.
Starting point is 02:37:48 and it was it was the i work in video games now i love it but that was the highlight of my career of doing anything it was so fun very very cool it was really people were fighting those those are probably still pretty valuable people were fighting each other for everything that we could put out there they were all gone in the first couple days so they had to make more i've met 711 bigwigs are because 711's located here right yeah well i think the CEO might yeah it's japanese now but oh really yeah the south but they were They're still headquartered here in the U.S. Damn.
Starting point is 02:38:23 It's awesome. Oh, by the way, we didn't talk about this. You brought up the stars. You know, they're move broadcast wives. Wise. They're moving to Amazon. Now. They're off of their own platform?
Starting point is 02:38:38 That's, I'm confused because they are victory, kind of, right? It's a Calgary-owned broadcast company. So they're bailing. They decided no. Can't pay themselves? I don't know. It's better for me to be able to watch the stars. All these teams are learning how much they were ripping off these companies.
Starting point is 02:39:00 They don't understand it's not a one-for-one. They don't understand, oh, you paid $10 million for our rights. Then we'll make $10 million in advertising, and we'll just call that. That's fine. We'll just run it our – they were doing that because it ate a lot of innings on their network that they had to fill 24 hours a day. And yeah, they're like, it's a loss, right? They knew they'd take a loss on the sports.
Starting point is 02:39:25 I'm sorry to ruin your closing remarks. Let's talk about this another time. What else do you got? Video games have a brighter future than the broadcast of hockey games. Well, and this is, I just feel like this might be where if there's ever going to be a salaries come back a little, this might be the reason for it. but the problem is that the own like you know how business is for most people is you cannot accept a loss of anything yeah but we're making 18 billion yeah but we have now go 19 you can't then go to 17 like it's not acceptable so that's they will jack up the price on everything
Starting point is 02:40:05 else well let's we got to build a new stadium that means we should you know rape this city for their resources like we have to do everything we can to make sure that's sure we all stay making at least the same level of not more than revenue streams yeah so anyway back to uh Nigel's not british nigel you got anything else what it would just not british we're taking over your uh closing remarks no not british not british let's get that clear not a british cigarette oh you don't know that no i don't he's out of town we'll find do whatever i want he's on the road we will find out south lake south lake was a party last night Well, thanks for supporting the sandlot.
Starting point is 02:40:47 Yeah. Right? And thanks for... How'd you get in studio with Bad Radio? Same thing? I gave... No, video games. Gave TC the Oculus VR set.
Starting point is 02:41:00 Wow. And he, in exchange, gave me that... I hooked me up with a sit-in. Wow. I wouldn't listen to that audio. I can count on one hand the people that I've hooked up for a sit-in back at the ticket. Like, T-C. Yeah.
Starting point is 02:41:12 X, come on to the back door. Yeah, you're fine. An Oculus. I'll get you in. I listened to the last night and listened to audio. And it was you ripping on them, like, you don't want to know where that Oculus is or what it's doing right now. Maybe, maybe uncomfortable. He hasn't seen it?
Starting point is 02:41:30 Oh. Yeah, he used to wear it in sex, right? That's what I've heard. What you heard publicly on a podcast. It's not like I'm... How's Oculus doing? Because I bought those for my kids. Not great.
Starting point is 02:41:47 They're dying? It didn't take off like they had hoped. Yeah, it was like, oh, we're going to, I'm going to wear mine at home, and Jake's going to wear his at home, and we'll be at the game together, like, because they have that sideline NBA thing, and we'll just be sitting on the court side seats together, and we can talk about the game. You can virtually do the Chinese trip. But we'll be wearing, yeah, but we'll be wearing this big thing,
Starting point is 02:42:08 and we'll look like an idiot in our living room, but it's going to be great. I think the last part is what hurts still. They never progressed hardware-wise, so everyone looks like an idiot still. How's the Oculus porn going, though? Probably pretty strong. Is VR porn a big deal? Man, I got nothing for you. All right.
Starting point is 02:42:27 I'm sorry. You out, Nigel? I'm out. Adios, mofo. We've got to go before this becomes a zoo. See you guys for drinks later. Thank you for watching my video. Subscribe and type for my name if you want to watch more of my video.
Starting point is 02:42:42 No more pitch and no runners come home Edeo no HID
