Starting point is 00:00:00 Hello, I'm professional broadcaster Dan McDowell, letting you know that you were about to hear one of our free podcast. But if you'd like to subscribe at dumzone.com, you'll get four shows per week plus the weekend wrap-up and any bonus sods like our business Wednesday interviews. So if you forgot how to use the 15-second rewind, that's dumbzone.com to subscribe. Now, on to today's program. All right, let's do this again. Go! Go! Go! He follows me on Twitter now. It's time to go.
Starting point is 00:00:38 That's you. I thought that was Greg Williams. That is a drop of you telling us to go, go, go, and get your foundation checked at Atlas Foundation Company. People have been doing it for 68 years. I did it just last week, Atlas Foundation Inc.com. 8176729950. We got us a foundation company. and they don't fly by night. These are daytime flyers.
Starting point is 00:01:02 They've been doing this since the laws used to be different. You want to ask about what the world was like when Atlas started doing foundation? It was different. You can trust them. They don't have salespeople. That's important. They're not just in there to try to see what they can get done. They're in there to get it done.
Starting point is 00:01:17 And that's what they did at my house. We got of a house, peer and beam, that we know we're going to have significant foundation work throughout the process. We need somebody we can trust. And I trust Kyler and the boys at Atlas Foundation Company. Some females, too. They're open to it, you know. 817-672-9950. The inspection is free.
Starting point is 00:01:39 And they'll do that for you in Dallas County, even in Dallas County for Dumb Zone listeners. So 817-672-9950. Book that inspection online at Atlas Foundation Inc.com. Men's Health Studio, downtown Dallas. I'm Dan McDell. I'm Jake Kim. I'm Blake Jones.
Starting point is 00:02:34 I'm Foodie CK. We have Henry's here. as well. And we are anticipating many more to be in studio today and with us on the Zoom as it is a game picking day. The payoff is set from February to football. The loser will wear an earring. Maybe there'll be some help in choosing which earring you have to wear occasionally.
Starting point is 00:03:03 Could be dependent on how you're feeling that day. Yeah. Very exciting. Do you get to use... I told you guys that there would be people in comedy writing classes. It would be like, I'm by, so I can say it. I'm like, why don't see you sucking it now? Yeah, how do you know that?
Starting point is 00:03:23 It's hard to indicate that. But if you have an hearing, like, do you get a few months? Hey. I think Soroy wanted the... He said the person of the team that loses the most games has to wear it in their right ear. Okay. So that's good. All right.
Starting point is 00:03:43 Did you have that growing up at all? Yeah. Just if it was a certain ear, it meant certain things. Yeah. I can't, I don't remember which is which. I guess right is bad. This must have been started by a heterosexual man who said, I want to get an earring. Incorrect.
Starting point is 00:04:00 And then they were like, you're gay. Uh-uh. Because I have it in this year. If it was in this year, I would, that's the indication of gay. That's funny. but that's not it. Why? Because for eons,
Starting point is 00:04:14 homosexuals have been having to signal to one another how they would like to have sex without the rest of us picking up on it. This is not new. Well, then how am I going to get into the game? If I don't know their thing. If you have to ask, you're not in. That's why they have it.
Starting point is 00:04:31 I mean, it's like the upside-down pineapple to let people know, hey, from across the, quad here at Ohio you. I am a fellow lesbian. Yeah. All right. Well, you learn something every day.
Starting point is 00:04:49 And that's what we've learned today. I mean, they probably have cool stuff right now that you don't know about that gay dudes are doing to signal to each other that they're down for some butt. And you just, you'll find out about it in 20 years. Unless gay listeners just, that's a good point. Email us and tell us about stuff.
Starting point is 00:05:06 The sign all along was we were into Dude Perfect. My God, it was right there. He just staring me in the nose. All right. Brandon Aubrey is on today's show. This might be the regular day for him. I don't know. I just know he used to like doing the Cowboys Off Day,
Starting point is 00:05:27 but now he has to watch two kids on the Cowboys Off Day. I guess that's Shoddy's Cowboys. So I think this is... Just do it whenever. His... I don't know. I guess they got time on a Thursday. At the Star.
Starting point is 00:05:41 in his little room. We're also doing Picks. What are we got, Saroy, T, C, and studio, KT, not here. How are you doing? Are you all right? Like in general or picks wise? Yeah, I don't know. Look a little haggard.
Starting point is 00:05:58 Everything cool? I think we're all right. All right. Just want to make sure you're okay. I don't want everybody to freak out. Am I allowed to say that's kind of a dick thing to do? What do you mean? Everyone's like, like, Dick's jumping on dance.
Starting point is 00:06:09 He's just here. And you're like, because I used to deal with it all. all the time. You walk in, Julie walks in. Nobody does that to Dan. What do you mean? Hey, you look like shit today. You do it to people all the time. And it's just fun. Well, he usually looks so hot. You do it to Julie. Like, oh, what's going on here? I'm a guy who, I'm an observational comic. I like to know what's the deal. So I go out yesterday. So we're downtown Dallas. It's the Fox floor building. I park across the street if I can't get in the in the limited space garage.
Starting point is 00:06:45 We're in the limited space garage. I park across the street every single time so that Fox 4 will never see, there's no parking, see a dumb zone car, and be upset. Okay. Not me. I know.
Starting point is 00:07:00 I try to get into the limited space garage. It doesn't work that often, to tell you the truth. It's not a high... And when it doesn't work, it's kind of a slump shoulder move. Yeah, because any other back out. It's hard to get out. I've stopped trying.
Starting point is 00:07:15 You don't even go? No, advice from Jake, just avoid things that are going to make you upset. And it will. So how often, though, I don't know if you've ever done this. Austin Powers car trying to back forward and back and forward and back. It's a tight fit. You get this damn park mobile app. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:07:35 What? There's three different ways to do it. So there's an app you can get. and you just type in what is the number of the lot you're in, and it tells you the parameters for parking there. It could be six hours for $5. Some places, it's like there's no other thing. It's just $20 for the day.
Starting point is 00:07:54 I think that's where you park. But anyway, text from Blake in the morning, right while I'm opening the park mobile app, so now I respond to Blake, and then I called him real quick. And then it all was just a whirlwind trying to get in. I forgot to think, and then I got a ticket. I didn't. You didn't pay yesterday either?
Starting point is 00:08:18 On accident. On accident. I know, I know. We're both in the... So it's a lot that is a $5 lot, right? Yeah. Ticket. It indicates where I parked.
Starting point is 00:08:32 Balance due. $97. Insane. Are you going to pay it? No. Good. I'm not, well, here's what I need. Well, we have 100 lawyers. I should call one of them. I want to talk to a lawyer and say,
Starting point is 00:08:53 how? How is this pot? How can that be legal? Hey, you forgot to pay that thing that was $5. Oh, okay. Here's the $5. Maybe here's like, what's like 20%? Here's $6, right? That would be 20% more. That seems big, right? What's the Vig? $6 would be incredible. Like, would that even be legal? How is this legal? How, how much, five times, 10, whatever it is, 10, 15, 18 time.
Starting point is 00:09:27 How many times the original thing are they charging me? How can this be legal? You're all, Congressmen are in, hey, we shouldn't be able to charge $5 on your bank fee. It should only be $2.50 if you're taking money out of the bank. because we're so worried about the people. Oh, okay, yeah, that does seem a lot. The $5 bank fee. I'm glad you're really worried about that.
Starting point is 00:09:50 You know what? We need to regulate the credit card companies because they're charging 20% interest on these poor people who are just trying to get by. Predatory. Ticket master. Let's have a big thing. No one is talking about empty pieces of land
Starting point is 00:10:05 that are doing nothing and these people. These fat cats with their monocle and top hats are just sitting here. employing some company? How much do you think they paid the poor idiot who put this on my car? Do you think that guy got paid $97 all day? Maybe. Maybe.
Starting point is 00:10:25 $97 is the charge. What if we tell you your entire payment goes straight to the ticket officer to kind of make you feel better about where your money's going? That would do a little something for me. Yeah, there's not a chance in the world that would happen and you know it. We're not paying them. you are. No, that's a, I at some point learned, business people must all know this. You know, parking lots are big business. They're big money, especially in a city like this, where we've decided,
Starting point is 00:10:55 let's just make the whole downtown a parking lot. You want to call the number? It says for further information. It's a cash machine. You're going to give them a piece of your mind? You should. You should tell them that you're... Call 877-302-7275. I'll give him a piece of my mind. Yeah, but I feel like it's probably... Excuse me. Recovery services. Parra Español.
Starting point is 00:11:22 Princeione el numero-o-o. I swear to God, if this guy tells us that their menu options have changed. They all have... Why is everyone's menu options just changed? Saturday, 7.30 a.m. to 3.30 p.m. Lock them in. Parra-espano. If you would like to make a payment on a notice or invoice,
Starting point is 00:11:42 no. Please have your notice number available. including the characters before the dash and press the number one or visit our website at prrrrs parking.com If you have a question or would like to speak with the next representative please remain on the line
Starting point is 00:11:57 we will if you prefer to leave a message and have a PRRS payment specialist contact you I think they make it 97 because they know none of us are going to pay please include your notice number and plate number and only leave one message
Starting point is 00:12:09 but maybe if they made it to give them every one would pay We will return your voicemail within two to three visits days. If you would like to file a dispute, please go to our website at No, because then I'd have to leave my plate number. Let's just see if they pop up. Anyway, so that sucks. There are 21.
Starting point is 00:12:33 Collars in the queue. Put it on old. We're never going to get to it. Brandon Aubrey's going to be in two minutes. I'm saying half an hour from hours. Are 21 other people doing what you're doing? That's because there's one guy in India answering these calls. It ain't that A.I. guy that just said that.
Starting point is 00:12:52 And he's actually working at the gas station by my house at the same. That's who they're on the phone with. He's hung over from the Texas game. That's who he's on the phone with. How can I get your case of D around? I'm 18 deep in this collection agency job I have. All right, go, let's leave a voicemail. Thank you for contacting parking revenue recovery services.
Starting point is 00:13:15 leave a message with your question or reason for calling. As appropriate, please include your notice or invoice number and license plate number, your name and a contact number to return your call. We will return your call in the order it was received. Please leave a message after the tone. Where'd you come from? Who? Which one? Bulldike at the end there. Oh, no. Well, no. Here's the deal. $97 for a $5. I won't stand for this. and I'm writing a letter to my representative Beau French right now. So if you don't want Bo French on your ass, you will rescind these tickets today.
Starting point is 00:13:55 You won't like him when he's angry. Not just for me, but for all the tickets that were unjustly given out on September 16th. And I want you to understand that my name is Dan McDowell, and this is a physical threat against the government official and provided you work for the government. you need to know we're not playing around bring back our anime hang up i love you pig okay no i don't i'm glad you're mad about it i don't uh i just take i i say i take it and then i don't pay it but i look at it and i think
Starting point is 00:14:39 like i'm like the hockey player on slap shot i never get mad at them i get mad at myself i feel shame i'm like what a photo idiot $97, though, again, if it was $10, if you doubled the price, you'd be like, God, that's not fair. And then he might pay it. Yeah, at least you didn't get one of their... $97. One of their four barnacles. But is this like the toll tag one?
Starting point is 00:15:02 Because the toll tag one is like, oh, you missed the toll. Here's $40. We're going to charge you. And then you call them and they're like, oh, no, no, no. Here, we'll bring it down. It's a $2 charge. I did that yesterday. It's great.
Starting point is 00:15:12 You did it? Yeah. It's easy. But they do it, like, to make you call and say, I mean, it's the same thing of spam, right? You're in your junk mail? It's like, hey, you were charged this on your Apple thing yesterday. You're like, wait, I didn't charge that.
Starting point is 00:15:27 I'm going to call. If you're telling me, I just got to make a phone call to cut my bill in half, I'll happily do it. First down. And those chains. So Brandon's going to be with us in a moment. It'll be brought to us by Community Mechanical. It is, they're our HVAC company. They're awesome.
Starting point is 00:15:44 They helped out Brandon a while back as well when he thought. he had a major problem because another company scared him into thinking that. It's a common thing in this game. Yeah, and then community came out. They're like, yeah, what if we just get you this part? It's $100. You will not have to pay over $10,000 for a whole new unit. And it's still going strong today.
Starting point is 00:16:05 In fact, he says sometimes they're a little too cold. Oh, no. Yeah. So, and then I'm like, well, just turn it up a couple degrees. And he goes, oh, okay. You know. They should call it the smart zone. CommunityDFW.com.
Starting point is 00:16:18 You can hit them up at 469-667-7-2-90. Brandon Aubrey's HVAC Company, the Dumb Zones, and yours. Our man is kicking holding bombs with his foot down on the gas. Homey kick it off the turf. Papa kick it off the grass. Community mechanical make a cold air blow a baby, baby buckle up. Brandon Aubrey Show. We show.
Starting point is 00:16:56 What's up, ladies? The kicker for your day. Dallas Cowboys. We just know the girls love you. Oh, that's good to hear. I don't know, probably. How's it going? How's the star?
Starting point is 00:17:12 It's going well. Another week of prep going on here. So just in the thick of it, trying to get ready for week number two now. I was telling the guy, I was guessing with the guys before we started is, are you, do you like this day better for moving on?
Starting point is 00:17:31 Like last year, we would always do it on the day off and now you have two kids. Yeah, so yeah. Yeah, might as well get it done as part of the work week. Got a little gap in time here, so might as well do it here instead of trying to take it home and find a quiet space. You know, naps are precious time now,
Starting point is 00:17:49 and I don't have too much time at home to get anything done. So that one nap I'm home for is my time. You don't have new house yet either, right? No, nope. So you've still. relegated to the kitchen table is Brandon Aubrey's office? Yes. You know it.
Starting point is 00:18:08 So do you have like blueprints for another house? Do you have like, I need myself. I need a den. We've got an office in this one. There'll be enough bedrooms there if we have the number of kids we want. Then we'll be set and we'll have to turn an office into another bedroom. So we'll be just fine in the new place. Blueprints are drawn.
Starting point is 00:18:30 Rendrings are ready to go. just trying to get approval from HOA process and then get going. You left some leading statements there that Dan is going to follow up on. Yeah, how many kids are in the mix? What's the goal? Yeah, we're at two now. The thought was if we can muscle our way through to four, we'd do that. But who knows, we're in the trenches now, so it's a bad time to ask about more.
Starting point is 00:18:59 All right. Are you from, like, are both of you from families with four or more kids? I got, it feels like a lot as a guy who had two kids. Yeah, we're both from a family of one brother named Ryan, one older brother named Ryan. Ryan Aubrey and Ryan Blune. And, you know, my brother has two kids. He's done. So smallish family, I guess average family there.
Starting point is 00:19:27 And then my brother-in-law, is married, but they don't plan on having kids. So if we want a big family gathering, it's kind of on us. That's the thought process there. We didn't grow up with big families, but my dad was one of four, and then Jen's mom was one of three, and they all had a bunch of kids. So we grew up around a bunch of cousins, and we enjoyed that. So that's kind of the idea there.
Starting point is 00:19:53 So you have the two kids now. Sleep is at, I would imagine, a minimum or a prehist. premium. Are you allowed, like, there's things that you can get at G&C that I could take, like pre-workouts that you can't take that, right? Yeah, I stay away from GNC. I don't take any supplements that don't come out of the star, pre-approved by our nutritionists. And even those can, you know, if you're really unlucky, it can be just tainted the wrong way. That's why the star makes sure they get their supplements from places that are really, really stringent, uh, stringent what they put in there and they test everything.
Starting point is 00:20:32 So should have the best supplements in the world. And, you know, I take whatever we're offered here. I think people like, maybe like Dan in years past would hear an athlete say, oh, I took something. I didn't know that this was going to trigger it and not believe it. But I think that actually is super common as a guy who's been cranking Yambi bark and pre-workout or whatever since I was 18. But are you allowed to take like extra creatine?
Starting point is 00:21:00 I take creatine. That one's really good for the brain health. Especially when you're not sleeping. Sleep deprived. Thank you. Okay, good. It makes me feel good to hear you say that because that's the one thing that I just, my sleep is uneven.
Starting point is 00:21:14 I'm like, all right. Creighton helps your sleep? Well, creatine is just going to, I think, help your brain function normally through levels of maybe mental stress. Like an increased dose of it. That's what I've heard. Same. I've heard the same thing.
Starting point is 00:21:28 And, you know, it's offered here. in the weight room. Got a really clean one. So just walk over there and throw it in some water with some salt. So it doesn't... You don't do it like LeBron and kind of throw it in the air and walk underneath it. No, no. Nope.
Starting point is 00:21:43 When you say mental stress, I can't remember who this was. I just saw some clip. Maybe it was Joe Thomas. Did you guys see that Joe Thomas clip? He was crying because... I'd love to talk about it. Everybody was like, this is so sad. I was like, this is beautiful.
Starting point is 00:21:56 This is the point of life is that you have to... love the work. But he was talking about how he would end up crying like mid-season when he was with the Browns because he had, he, he would discover, man, I've been lying to myself since training camp that I think this team could win a Super Bowl or like big any good. But it took him like 10 years. He was on Owen 16 teams. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:22:19 So this is, I'm not saying this is, I'm not trying to compare anything to you, Brandon, but you said mental. And then he said, you know, he had to go, he went to the team psychologist and sat down with him, her, I don't know, and worked it out. And then now I'm thinking, all right, kickers, there are, oh, so much of that game is mental. You can mentally mess yourself up and this and that. Do you, have you ever been with the team psychologist? Do you have regular sessions?
Starting point is 00:22:48 I don't have regular sessions. We do have both a psychologist and a sports, like mental performance coach. I spend more time with the mental performance coach. You know, just I have my routines that are in place to help me there. And I've got a couple of tools in the toolbox that you use. And then every year he's really good about presenting in front of the team something new that we can throw in our toolbox if we so choose. But yeah, kicking is very mental. And then you got to make sure the body feels right is the second aspect of that.
Starting point is 00:23:22 So that kind of even helps with the mental side. If you're prepared physically, it'll help like ease you. mentally. And then if I always say if I feel good physically, I'm going to be good on game day. So that helps with my mental edge as well. What's like a tool in the toolbox? Is it just kind of focusing on something? Like give me some little trick. It sounds, it sounds lame or I'm sure people would make fun of it, but it's just your mental talk to yourself on the sideline. As I'm sitting there, understanding we need a field goal or we need some important extra point whatever it is you're
Starting point is 00:24:03 sitting there telling yourself you've been kicking balls your whole life you're made for this no one in the world is more qualified for it that sort of thing just pumping yourself up getting yourself to think positively not think about the outcome and then i'm running on the field again just walking through each and every step that i'm taking and then another thing is visualization. It's a big one night before the game, walk through situations that might pop up and see the ball going through
Starting point is 00:24:33 in all those situations. And then walking on the field before, like before warmups, an hour or two before warmups and picking something to aim at from various spots on the field that you might kick from. Those are the big ones for me.
Starting point is 00:24:50 Yeah. And then trying not to focus on the past that makes sense. It's like I gone out and hit a ball and it didn't come off right. Don't think about, okay, you know, you pulled the last one. Let's make this adjustment and then make sure we don't over correct. So I just kind of half a second, understand what went wrong and then move on to, all right, now we're going to go through the same exact process. And we've done that a million times. And it's worked for us 980 times. So or 980, whatever.
Starting point is 00:25:20 Right, $980,000. That would be really bad percentage there. But, You know what I'm going to say. So besides being indoors and turf and everything, maybe that's why it's also better at home because you've got your familiar thing that you pick to aim at. You something like that. Yeah. Our stadium is fantastic.
Starting point is 00:25:41 There's lots of little aiming points. Like aim at the sun. Can't miss it there. Not a lot of kickoffs this week as the Cowboys didn't school. that didn't have a lot of possessions. But I do like to go back and look at, I think you had five or four, maybe five, four. Possessions? No, kickoffs.
Starting point is 00:26:07 Oh, good offs. So how would, like, does grading, you don't have to, you're probably not aware of this, but there's a whole other, like, nerd football world where people debate pro football focus is grades. It's been something that people have argued about since they started trying to do it, right? right? I played in high school, and I'm familiar with like the plus minus system, right? So you look at these four kicks. How did you, how do you think? And then I want to ask you some questions about them. Yeah, plus on three and minus on one. Pretty straightforward there, I think. The minus is the one that landed and then bounced out of the back of the end zone?
Starting point is 00:26:50 No, yeah, the one that landed in the end zone. Okay, so are you, are you kicking? the ball lower by any it like it just looks to me like the first one it's I mean they got got muffed one of them like there's it seems like there's a lot going on on the ball and the kickoff now like yeah it looks like very challenging to field
Starting point is 00:27:09 the rule is you can move as soon as somebody on the opposing team touches the ball or it touches the ground so the incentive there is to get the ball to touch the ground before they touch it so our covered team can get a jump and you know that's kind of if it's called
Starting point is 00:27:25 that way. We'll do that. We'll try and get it on the ground. And if not, we're going to try and put the ball around the goal line without going over it. So, yeah, we got the ball on the ground a couple of times, which is a big win. And we had some really good coverage. I think they averaged like the 26-yard line after kickoff, which is really good. That would be top five in the league, or maybe even number one, I think, from last year. So hopefully we can keep that running. The one to open the second half is just, it's awesome because it creates a level of panic in the returner that this is why I like the new kickoff. It's just, it's set up to have guys trying to fumble an oblong ball with a live fire coverage team. It's not like the old kick.
Starting point is 00:28:10 Most of the time, the old kickoffs were fielded through the air. It feels like it's half the time now. You're having to field a ball at about the six where the coverage team is at the 25, 30, and now it's. It's on. It was a, it's fun to watch the development of it. Yeah, it'll be a fun game to play with. You know, the Giants on the third kickoff after two had hit the ground and went from heels on the goal line to heels at the eight yard line or something like that. So that's why the next one I tried to go over their head a little bit to get it on the ground. And it was just a hair long. So get them running backwards is another way to win. Interesting. That's a good bit. That missed extra point. Obviously, you know, moved way back.
Starting point is 00:28:51 that wasn't what you were expecting. And I think you've told us in the past. Blake was saying you've said this in the past that it does make you mad that the stats in the end don't really show that, hey, I had a missed extra point, but it was from this district. Just says missed extra point. And you think, oh, man, this guy is missing extra points.
Starting point is 00:29:12 Is that a mental thing too? Like, oh, I thought I was about to go kick it from 20 yards shorter. Yeah, I mean, there's a little bit there. I think this one was mostly because we're going for two. We're going for two. So I'm taking my helmet off. I got shoot off the field and I'm going back to go up my kicking tea. And I've kind of released everything mentally from, okay, I'm kicking a point scoring play,
Starting point is 00:29:39 which is completely different mindset than the kickoff. And I kind of just relaxed my brain there. And then I had a hard time flipping it back on. And, yeah, the little frustration kicks in there. Um, because, you know, that mental, um, lock is really hard for you to sustain. So as soon as you think you're not going out to kick a extra point, big sigh relief, relax. Okay. Let's move on to the next thing, which is a kickoff, take the helmet off, start getting a little sip of water, talk to my guys, got my tea.
Starting point is 00:30:11 And then, okay, we're running back out there. Didn't properly get myself locked back into that moment. And even not getting yourself locked back in, you should. You should be making that kick. No excuses there. I just didn't finish my swing. It looked more like a kickoff swing than a field goal swing, which now is hilarious that kickoff swing is significantly softer than a field goal swing would be,
Starting point is 00:30:37 which before it was you're swinging as hard as you possibly can on the kickoff. Like you always say you're watching him. Did they know it right away when he kicked it? Yeah, which was surprising because you're normally, pretty calm, but that one I think you're a little visibly upset, if I remember right. With yourself. I mean, not with the situation, but, you know. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:30:58 I'm frustrated, obviously. More frustrated with myself because I didn't feel like I gave myself the chance mentally to succeed and had a hard time getting set up for it, which can't do it. When did you guys, you say you knew you were going for two? When is that communicated? pre-drive. Back of your head, I think it's communicated
Starting point is 00:31:22 to the coaching staff. I don't know when it's communicated, but I'm so locked into my own world. There's no one communicating with me and I want it that way. But as I'm jogging onto the field for the extra point, I just got to make sure I'm ready in the back of my head. Even if I know we're probably going for two,
Starting point is 00:31:38 I'm kicking that out. And I'm like, we're kicking an extra point. We're kicking extra point just for this sort of situation, really is why I do it. And then that's why I was frustrated with myself because I built it up. Like, I'm pretty sure we're going. for two here, but, and I was ready for the opportunity, jogged on the field, got told we're
Starting point is 00:31:53 going for two, okay, just did a little loop back and relaxed a hair too early. So probably future corrections there is, you know, stay ready, get shoot off the field, staying on the sideline, and stay in that mental preparation zone until the ball is snapped for the two-point play. That's super interesting. And I appreciate you being honest with us about it. It's just, it's fascinating, because, again, I don't know if you're aware of this. This is like a debate in the analytics community of like, should you go for it then or later? And there's been times in the past where basically every Cowboys coach
Starting point is 00:32:30 would have kicked and then kicked again and then played for overtime. It seems like the league is shifting a little bit towards the you want to know what you need, I think is the argument. So I just wasn't sure if that's like something that's discussed. Because I mean, I hear him say we were definitely going to go for two, but in situations past, they've not always done it. So it's interesting. You just give yourself a chance to win the game, which you don't. And the other way, you have to even another frame of mind, you score, kick, get a stop, score, kick, get a stop in the game.
Starting point is 00:33:09 And then win in overtime versus like ideally score two point, stop, score. kick game over or maybe you need a brief stop at the end of the game. But I like it. It's aggressive, puts our offense on the field for two yards and I feel like more than a 50% shot at that. I like our odds of scoring at least one of those, if not both. Did you talk to Tariko? Excuse me, Tariko pregame?
Starting point is 00:33:38 He's really into kickers, right? No, the only one I talked today, our pregame, this game was a, Blake's buddy, former Cowboys quarterback, came down with Blake. Steve, Burley, former, uh, he, uh, did you introduce him to, to Brandon? Uh, I think I did last year, but the Notre Dame connection, I mean, they've got an instant draw. Okay. In fact, that's all Burline wants to talk about. He, I don't know if he knows you're the kicker, but he knows he went to Notre Dame.
Starting point is 00:34:10 I'll take it. It's good times. Other things, pre. So I was seeing a thing where. apparently like in the Monday night game the Denver punter was punning into like the Kansas City warmups and then Kelsey got pissed
Starting point is 00:34:25 and then he punted the ball into the stands and all this stuff have you and Bangor ever gotten involved in some kind of pregame shenanigans like that or some team coming over messing up you trying to warm up? Nope. I've been pretty uneventful.
Starting point is 00:34:43 I'm on the field usually before any other teams except for their special teamers are out there. I don't know what I didn't see this or hear about this but I feel like the special teams players, the punters, kickers are out there way before anybody else usually. So I'm going to lean on without any sort of knowledge of the situation saying
Starting point is 00:35:08 punters are probably just fine punting. I mean, they're warming up. That's what you're supposed to do is punt the football. So I don't know. I have no knowledge of the situation, but I'm going to go with my punters here. Well, I potentially got ball sacked, but no, no, I think there's something here. I mean, it's in the New York Post. I'm not locked into Instagram or the happenings around the league this year.
Starting point is 00:35:31 It's kind of odd and just kind of family and football. You got a contract. Yeah. I don't need to mess with all this. That's not so much. I have a second kid is the issue. That's true. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:35:43 Nine o'clock is when free time starts on a good day. It, I mean, kids are the thing. Everybody's like, oh, when you get married, things don't change when you get married. Right? You were with her for years before. Now she just needs a lawyer if she wants to leave. You're still hanging out. No, but the kids change everything.
Starting point is 00:36:02 And then the second kid, then again, changes everything. It's all great. I was going to ask you, now Jake just mentioned the contract, though. What was it like? We never really talked in training camp about this. You walked into training camp with that kind of security. It's got to be a mentally just a whole different world. Yeah, it's the first time to go into camp where I felt like I can actually work on things in front of the team instead of just trying to be perfect.
Starting point is 00:36:35 So we worked on the dirty ball for kickoff. Just focused on my form, tried to hit the ball. ball straight down the uprights instead of playing the wind and didn't really care. What they happen is that wind is so unrealistic. And then maybe one or two days, performance mode. And you go through and you actually try and make your kicks where you're playing the wind, you're hitting a little lower ball because there'll be a day or two where we have to do that.
Starting point is 00:37:01 But for the most part, those conditions are unreplicated in the NFL on game day. There's, you know, your one or two games every year that are. like that, but not going to kind of shape my season around playing into the wind into your face, going in the opposite direction. Like if you have a little bit of a draw, it's going to really pull it left. So I just played my normal swing and didn't really care too much, wasn't bothered too much, if it moved more than I liked and looked nasty because, you know, I'm just trying to make sure I'm ready for week one instead of make all my kicks and training camp. Well, who do we got this week?
Starting point is 00:37:45 Who we plan? Let's just see if you know. That's right. Okay. So obviously the offense is scouting the defense and all their tenant. What are you scouting? The kickoffs, kickoff returns? Yeah, we're in all the special teams meetings.
Starting point is 00:38:01 We have to see all the teamers out there. And they always play hard. They're always really good. rushing team. We've got really good returners. Their guy had two punt returns for touchdowns last year, so got to be on top of our game. We got great gunners for their punning unit. I saw the clip, this one I did see, of their gunner going viral pushing over two. He got a vice, which means two people covering him. Got a release right in the middle of them and then pushed one over with one hand and then the other one to the ground.
Starting point is 00:38:37 with the other hand and then went and made a sweet tackle. So they've got some good players and we've got good players too. You've got to match them up properly, know and communicate what our calls are and execute our specific jobs every play and then want it better, want it worse than they do. That's what special team is about. When's the last time you talked to bones? We miss bones, Brandon. It's been a while.
Starting point is 00:39:03 I think the dead period between the drive. draft and training camp. He's got a roll of decks of players that he'll reach out to. I think maybe once in a while and happy to be on that list. I got to chat with him for five, 10 minutes and just kind of see how he's doing and he checked it on us. He seems fun. Yeah. My one thing from the plane, I noticed Shottie sits behind you. Do you kind of just put like film up just to trick him into thinking, like we're just grinding? Look how Hardy's working. Hey, look, I have an Excel sheet up with all my kicks on it. Yeah, I played the new college football game.
Starting point is 00:39:41 He got a contract. The kicking in that game is ridiculously hard. It is hard. I'm like four for 11 with my field goal kicker in that game. That's college, baby. Yeah, what the heck? Yeah, they're not you. But still, I think the longest attempt I had was like 42 yards.
Starting point is 00:39:58 How are you playing it? Handheld device. Nice. The Ovo Legion Go. Okay. That's what I'm doing on the plane. That's my time to game. So I'm getting it.
Starting point is 00:40:09 Well, if you want to get up to altitude and play each other, I'm down. You'd smoke me. I'm still working on the computers. All right. Well, good luck this week. Do something, win, set NFL records. I don't know, whatever your goals are for the weekend. I want them to come true.
Starting point is 00:40:27 Winning is a great start. Okay. Well, let's go with that one. And we'll talk to you next week. Maybe Thursday. Maybe Tuesday. All right. We'll see you.
Starting point is 00:40:37 That's the Brandon Aubrey show. Dude, that's crazy. I know it ended up not mattering, but... Community mechanical. From what? Community mechanical. Everybody knows what I meant. That's really cool.
Starting point is 00:40:48 I mean, not to use a S-G word, but it's pretty, like, vulnerable to be like, here's exactly what happened there. I chilled out because I thought we were going for two, and I wasn't ready, and the swing is different, and I love that. Yeah, you're paraphrasing him to make it. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:41:06 I don't know. chilled out, but it definitely affected him a little bit. I would have never thought that he would have said anything about here's why I missed a, here's a reason. You just don't hear guys say. It's very interesting. He's told us before about his first kick. But I've never thought that about, you know, you see an extra point miss by any team or
Starting point is 00:41:24 whatever. And you're never like, oh, okay, he actually didn't think they were going to be kicking at all. And I wouldn't have thought of that if it wasn't for him telling us that's how he missed his first kick. Yeah, and he's over prepping. Yeah. Do we have our online guest as well?
Starting point is 00:41:40 All right. Well, let's do this then. Oh, this will be brought to us by Qualis roofing today. QualisGC.com. That is our roofing company. It's one of our maybe the first advertiser. I don't know. It's tough to say.
Starting point is 00:41:56 Let's let them fight it out with Jay over at Conneroso. I can tell you this. When they got involved, they didn't have a drone and now they do. And TC's met their drone. T.C. went out and filmed Qualis when they were. They were putting the, you know what they do? They put a roof on a lowly widow's head. A lowly widow.
Starting point is 00:42:14 Yeah, why's she got to be lowly? She seemed like a nice lady. Well, she was... You mean lonely? I mean she was economically unable to replace her roof on her own. So people's only value is how much money they have? Now you're getting warmer. But they gave them a free roof, right?
Starting point is 00:42:29 Correct. Or gave her a free roof. She identifies to her. Correct. She was like 80. QualisGC.com. It could be free for you, too, if you just getting contact with Qualis.
Starting point is 00:42:39 Is there an 80-year-old? He's like, no, go with they. There's got to be. You think? If you go to enough places in the country, you're going to run into... She told me there's nine genders. Oh, okay. But only one roofing company. Qualis at 817, 5009008.
Starting point is 00:42:55 Your roof, kind of free, too, because they're going to deal with your insurance company. It's no hassle to you. You owe it to yourself to at least call, and if you get a roof, you can get a sit-in. QualisGC.com. Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, children of all ages. It is time for D. Just waiting. It's a big day.
Starting point is 00:43:42 It's Picks Thursday. Hell yeah. That rolls right off the tongue. And here to pick some games with us, Mike Soroy. Hi. Hi, Henry. Fleming. Hello.
Starting point is 00:43:56 Those two are in studio, and we have, KT. Kevin KT. Turner is joining us via the Zoom before he does his show on one of the many radio stations that he works at. Right? Oh, you did your show this morning. I'm sorry. You're now in the morning. I thought you were afternoon. Yeah. Yeah, I've already done it. And then I've got
Starting point is 00:44:21 to go up to Haymaker and do some more stuff. He's going to wake you up with a double shot of ZZ-Z-Tob. I've got some big news, though, guys. I've been asked to open up for Ed Shearin on tour now, so I'm not sure if I'll be able to go with you guys along the way. You might have to find another pair of lobes. Do you have any statements regarding the conflict that started with the Sykes-Pico Treaty in 1917? I've been advised by Ed not to go there. Aren't they having like a donate dick off now?
Starting point is 00:44:51 He has a Shearin NFL hat. Yeah, you have one too somewhere. I got a shirt. Yep. We all got it. We did? Yeah, they brought him up to the station when Ed Shearan did like, I don't even think it was the Super Bowl. DJ bought them for us.
Starting point is 00:45:04 Oh, he did at an NFL event. Because he was a fan? Remember Ed Shearin did something with the NFL and it was really weird. It was a kickoff, opening kickoff concert. I thought like 15. To get you fired up about football, Ed Shearin. All right. Is he SNL this year?
Starting point is 00:45:27 Probably not now. Okay. You're doing great, bud. I heard T.C.'s doing pretty good in your SNL league. Doing good in pretty much all the leagues, Dan. Oh, wow. Man, that's new money for you. Let's see how he's doing in this week.
Starting point is 00:45:43 No doubt. They don't know how this works. You just sit back and watch them, get a new pool. We'll see how he's doing in our league. We have, we are doing picks this year. We have teams. So T.C. is teamed up with Jake. I'm teamed up with Mike, Blake with KT.
Starting point is 00:46:02 And really the reason we're doing this, it's probably Blake's idea, right? You just didn't want, you didn't want someone to lose and potentially we wouldn't get to see an earring on our show every day. Right. You wanted one of us to have to also wear the earring. So that's kind of why we're doing this. So it could end up dragging one of these guys down into our... They signed up. Abyss.
Starting point is 00:46:30 But the best team this year... Well, let's just go individually. The best guy individually, it is T.C. Fleming, folks. He is 6 and 4 thus far. The only guy that hit his triple play. Yeah. Got more games wrong than right. So really, what is the record when you take away the triple play?
Starting point is 00:46:49 Three and four. He is 3 and 4. So that's important when you note that I was in second place this week. From all the picking, I'm in second place with a four and six record. Hell yeah. But one loss was a triple play. So in theory, I really just went four in three. Wow.
Starting point is 00:47:10 Four. I'm, don't worry about it. Then we go down to Mike Soroy at three and seven. Yeah, we're fine. And then we have what's next? Oh, everyone else is two and eight. The models just had some dust on it. It just had ball off.
Starting point is 00:47:30 The first week and Jake were all two and eight. So that's not good, guys. How'd we get two? We got to pick it up. But, you know, it's tough first week. You know, Chargers. That was a tough, right? It's because they don't play preseason anymore.
Starting point is 00:47:47 Do you think they're walking out? My models used to heavily wait week three of the preseason, and now they don't do it. My models are also pre-N-I-L. The date is changing Every second And as far as teams They are going in the same direction Because in first place
Starting point is 00:48:04 Would be the team that T.C. You can only see his footprints in the sand And then Our team, Mike, is We need to name it. We should name our team. We're 7 and 13 S&M
Starting point is 00:48:18 But that's not all that creative. TC's got eight wins TC and Jake eight wins. We've got seven wins. And then these bozos over here with four wins. Four and 16. We all sucked. We all sucked.
Starting point is 00:48:37 I would be interested. I mean, I know I saw the numbers on Circa Survivor, but did the House win big in general in week one? Has anyone seen any sort of action lab story or any? No, I don't really know. Are you in any knockout leagues? Yeah, I'm in a few.
Starting point is 00:48:51 I mean, Cirque to survive. and we lost like 40 something percent with the Chargers. Yeah. But I'm still, yeah, we're also a lot. I'm alive. I'm alive. I want Jags. But yeah, it was a brutal first week for everybody around here.
Starting point is 00:49:06 We'll be all right. And you brought a, I believe, a baseball glove. Yeah, I brought a little show and tell. Because just like the Lannisters, the Soroy's, always pay their debts. And we got Showtime tomorrow night at the Globe. 7.05 first pitch. Did you borrow that from my 12-year-old daughter? I barred it from a very small friend of mine who played shortstop in college.
Starting point is 00:49:28 So he did warn me it was a infielder's glove. Yeah. Yeah. So I'm expecting a tick off the top. Was he a midget? No, it's a very small. It's not. Mike's right.
Starting point is 00:49:38 I have a glove. Is it 11 inch? I have a, yeah, Parker gave me a glove that the cool kids use. And I was like, this is going to break my wrist. I would get an out of his hands. Yeah. Well, it's not ideal, but better than nothing. And it's all I'll need out there.
Starting point is 00:49:50 If you need a big glove. maybe you're not a good infielder. So the payoff is the Soros who lost last year are going to go out to the Rangers series. Blue Jays. Three games. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. You have to go to every game.
Starting point is 00:50:06 The thing is you just have to be there from inning one through nine. You have to be there until the last... I like the sound of that. The agreement was where they're from when the doors open. Well, no. The way you can get out, you don't have to go to batting practice.
Starting point is 00:50:21 Oh. Why don't you just go to three games? You don't have to catch a ball. The point is that if you can get there and catch a ball at any point during the game, batting practice, whatever, ball on a fly. Now, was it you that came up with the nice rule yesterday? I wasn't here yesterday. I don't like you. Came up with an idea.
Starting point is 00:50:41 I think this is going to help you. Taxation without representation. I'm here to help you. Go on. If you, the whole thing is you got to catch the ball in the air. It can't be rolling around the ground and go pick it up. I agree. However, if a kid catches the ball and you steal that ball from the kid, you may leave.
Starting point is 00:50:59 Okay. If you physically take it, people are mad at you, and then you leave. Then you're out. Absolutely. Publicity for the show. And this has to be filmed. Like the film, we have to film you catching it or at least enough reliable witnesses, not like, oh, Cash said I caught it.
Starting point is 00:51:17 Yep. Yeah, reliable witnesses. Ask Cash. filming you, stealing it from the kid's hand, the dad getting mad, you're just leaving, all that kind of stuff. That would be awesome. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:51:30 I like that as an option. Thank you, yes. Then you'll get banned from the ballpark and never have to go to a band. I'm just like, dang it. What a punishment. They banned you from the ballpark.
Starting point is 00:51:41 All Rangers fans hate me. I'm banned from low. It has its perks. Getting banned from the ballpark. You better be careful. I'll do this at 29 other ballparks. better look out. You didn't get banned for
Starting point is 00:51:53 what's his name, did you? Oh, yeah. What's the Marlon's Randy Chote? Randy Chote. Yeah. You weren't allowed back in the clubhouse
Starting point is 00:52:00 because of Randy Chote? They forgot a couple years later, but at the time they said it was lifetime. You're out of here. John Blake sent an email. Oh, wow. He ain't coming back.
Starting point is 00:52:09 And then I've told you this bunch of times, but we were going to revisit the issue and maybe offer a big apology, kind of let the dust settle on this whole thing, but they canceled it because they were having a busy day since the night before Josh Hamilton had thrown a ball to a fan who then fell over the left field fence and died.
Starting point is 00:52:28 That's right. I do remember we were going to. Shannon Stone. Make this right. I didn't remember that, though. Yeah, you were counseling me on this is how to handle Cat and Blake. You know, you got to go in there. Apologetic.
Starting point is 00:52:42 Don't justify. Right. And you'll be back. It'll be fine. Yeah. What'd you ask? I forgot. What'd you ask to Randy, Joe?
Starting point is 00:52:50 What his favorite sex positions? Oh, that's right. Pretty mild. For his class. Yeah, for... That sort of talk has never come up in a clubhouse, sir. And Bassick says he's like a Mr. Funny guy. Like that everyone loves Randy Choate and, like, you know, if you spend five minutes around Choate, you'll just be bust and laughing.
Starting point is 00:53:08 All right. It's only a minute and a half. So the theory was, we were just stealing an old bit that we had done, or intern Carlos had done a long time ago. because intern Carlos's mom was an actual teacher. Yeah. And then so he went in with this bit of Herc, you know, class school kids or whatever, students, would, uh, came up with a bunch of questions they'd like to ask a major leaguer. I'd like to present those to you.
Starting point is 00:53:37 And so that was the theory of the bit. And Carlos did it like, it was very good because he kind of eased into it. You know, we, we. we started with favorite color, then we went, I don't know, somehow he took some steps up to get to sexual position and it didn't feel like out of nowhere. And within like five minutes before I walked in and did what you're about to hear, Dan said that word for word to me over the phone. But I would like to say in retrospect, I think you're wrong.
Starting point is 00:54:10 Okay, well, let's listen to how you pulled it off and why the Marlins got so mad at you and you got banned from the ballpark for two years. Hey, do you have a second? Sorry? Do you have a second, just to talk? Yeah, what you told him? Huh? Oh, I tell you said, Keith.
Starting point is 00:54:25 No, no, no, I just said, do you have a second? I'm with a... It's not starting out well. We're really off to a great side. I have a second, just to talk. Oh, I thought you said Keith, and now you're flustered, right? Huh? I'm with...
Starting point is 00:54:38 My mom has a fifth grade class, and she just had them... All right, so he wants to say I'm with the radio station, the ticket, but he... Again, bullets are flying, man. He's in the foxhole. Right. He doesn't know what's going on. He's got a little shell shock. It's Randy Chote for God's something.
Starting point is 00:54:56 How do you keep your composure? Face to face. With a Randy Chote. The lanky left-hander. I don't know what his body type is. I'm with, my mom has a fifth grade class, and she just had them write down some questions. They wanted to ask a major league baseball player.
Starting point is 00:55:13 Is it okay if you answer a couple? Sure. What position did you want to play growing up? First base. And how did you pick your number? I like even numbers in the 30s. And why is the number 69 so funny? I don't know. I just watched some Billy Manesson.
Starting point is 00:55:33 When did you know you were good enough to play in the majors? I don't know. I think I always believed it in college, but I didn't know until I actually got called up. How many girls have you kissed? Are we serious right now? Yeah, just it's the kids. They, they formulated it. I think some of these are kind of silly. Probably about 100.
Starting point is 00:55:56 You know, what's your favorite? All right. Big ups, my man. Yeah, that's pretty kick-ass, right? I guess if you're like the star athlete in school growing up, all that, you're just... Are we serious right now? Yeah, just the kids, they formulated it. I think some of these are kind of silly.
Starting point is 00:56:13 Probably about 100. and what's your favorite sex position a fifth grade I don't think so go ahead do you play any golf go ahead I love the next
Starting point is 00:56:28 let's just go to the golf one yes lots you know like is this a joke am I on camera or something no I mean it's cool if you don't want to go ahead
Starting point is 00:56:42 that's fine And then just do you have a favorite candy? Yeah, Kit Kat, I guess. Thank you. Yeah. Now get out of there. Like, is it a joke? Yeah, way to go, dude.
Starting point is 00:56:55 Put that together pretty quick, huh? Do you play any golf? No, no, there's real fifth graders somewhere. The fifth grader also wants to know if you play golf. Why would a fifth grader do you want to know if you play golf? Get Fleming off the list. Yeah. And so then he.
Starting point is 00:57:14 He calls the clubhouse guy over. He called Marlins' man. We felt like it was an explosive situation of the time. We didn't play this. I don't know if we have since, but I kept it rolling for the Marlins guy coming over and saying he basically was like, what's up? And I was like, I'm leaving.
Starting point is 00:57:34 And he's like, that's good. And that was the end of it. But that was then communicated to the Rangers as we had to kick him out. They said if we're kicking people out, then they don't know. need to be coming back. We're going to call them up. Different world today, man.
Starting point is 00:57:49 We were talking the other day if that happened today. And we had that on video? What would happen? I just think it would be the top story in the sports world. T.C. and Randy Choate? Yeah. If it went like that and we had video of it, I think it would be, you just don't see stuff like this isn't happening anymore. There was a time where you could send T.C. into a locker room.
Starting point is 00:58:13 and all the players would turn to them like, I don't know, moth to a flame. Like, what's going on over there? Yeah. It's too bad. I had the idea for a long time that we should have parked Justin in there every day for media availability and just let Monty go to work. Yeah, no, that's a great hook.
Starting point is 00:58:37 They're not going to kick him out. Yeah. Right. I think he just holler, like come talk. to me from the middle of the... Can you get me something? Hot chick, military, or disabled? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:58:52 No, listen, I checked... Maybe not in that order, right? I looked the other day to see if the disability network was at any NFL games week one. He was at the Hall of Fame game. Oh, nice. Yeah, that's where he... He was interviewing Bryce Young, and Bryce Young said, I just want to be where my feet are. That's right.
Starting point is 00:59:09 Yeah, yeah, yeah. And the guy said, well, that's funny, because I don't have any. Didn't Bryce Young take a knee for the interview? He did. What's he supposed to do? Stand up. The guy's missing from the waist down. Yeah, we don't really frame it up right that way.
Starting point is 00:59:22 Yeah. What if he just had to hold a selfie stick and pull his mic up to there and then pull it down? That'd be kind of a baller move, right? Why should I stand? If I were him, I would be like Robotnik or something. I would be on a little thing that moves me. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:59:39 Yeah. Also, that Cowboys Giants game could. It couldn't help but notice, Arvel Reese did nothing for the veterans or the disabled. It's true. What does that have? Play me. What's the tie in there? That's where we got this.
Starting point is 00:59:55 When Arvel Reese was drafted and his first press conference, that's where we learned the disability network. Is the guy's like, what are you planning on doing for the disabled veterans and also homeless children this year? Oh, and he's like, hmm. I haven't thought about that one. I had the Bryce Youngfield. Yeah, why not? It's funny. If you have the video, we might as well watch it. What is that? Of course, the head of the disability network.
Starting point is 01:00:21 Carolina Panthers. And Bryce Young, what are your thoughts? I know you're not playing tonight, but here we are on the season. Juice is flowing. Getting around. Yeah, football's back. I mean, I'm super excited for the guys. Just to root team on. Nealing down. Whenever we get to take out, you know, go out as a team, take the field. It's always a blessing. So, I'm super excited for tonight. And maybe someday you'll be here in enshrined it.
Starting point is 01:00:42 I mean, do you think about things like that? Definitely the goal, but it's a long-term one. You know, I can't think too far ahead. Right now. It's about being the best version of the team we are. I thought you started a second contract. Definitely just where my feet are right now. I don't know.
Starting point is 01:00:55 Speaking of feet, I don't have any, but I was always wondering if you're a higher-in-win-win-win- I know. I know. I want to pause it because I want to set up. I thought we were close. No, if you're listening, we're looking at a video that the guy does not have any legs at all. Yeah, I thought, guys. He is set up on his torso.
Starting point is 01:01:12 and Bryce Young is in a catcher's stance, you know, as low as you can get. Because, yeah, that guy and... I'm just trying to be where my waist is. That's what I'm saying. If I were him, I would get put up on a little thing that I would control with a joystick. And I would zoom around with just like... Maybe mech legs. Yeah, something.
Starting point is 01:01:34 Definitely mech legs. I mean, it's waist down. Do you think he has to do the roll the field thing to get over to... You know, can't think too far ahead right now. It's about being the best version of the team we are. Training Camp is about finding that. So definitely just... What about four pogos?
Starting point is 01:01:52 Speaking of feet, I don't have any, but I was always wondering if you're a Heisman winner. What about like four Pogo stick like things on the bottom? Can you just... Why four? Well, no, two could fall. Four are just stable. It's like a table, you know?
Starting point is 01:02:06 You can stop and stay. At some point, though, he's becoming that head from Toy Story. It's like on the little spiders. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Anyway, we're going to do some picks. It'll be brought to us by Parlay Collective. All right, that makes sense. It's our marketing agency.
Starting point is 01:02:25 Marketing agency, yeah. I just know they help us with, like, for instance, we've got, they just made us a new graphic for our Conne Roso remote next Friday. They've helped us with, like, the sales decks. They can help your company, too. Let's see. It says here. They help build the foundation, then manage execution across websites, blogs, newsletters, social media, monetization, paid advertising, partnerships, analytics, and more.
Starting point is 01:02:53 If you got a business, you got a brand, you want to get the word out, parlay collective.com. Parlaycollective.com, they'll hook you up with a media plan. They've been great for us. Their tagline, it says, is all in by design. But I think it should be, we'll help you get your shit together. Well, it doesn't really have anything to do with the name. But it helped us. They did help us get our shit together.
Starting point is 01:03:19 Big time. Parlay Collective.com. All right, picking games. We pick from worse, or excuse me, first to worst. That way the guys at the bottom are able to see what the guys at the top are doing and maybe flip their picks for just that kind of stuff. So we will start with the first place man himself, T.C. Fleming.
Starting point is 01:03:44 Or, yeah, the team TC. I'm sorry, we're going to start with Team TC, but the way Blake wanted to do this is allow Jake to pick first. So that's what we're doing, right? Yeah. Okay. All right. T.C. and Jake team, but Jake's picking first.
Starting point is 01:04:02 Don't feel good about it, but I have to take the Cowboys. Certainly not in Triple Play Zone. Yeah, pick the Cowboys and your Triple Play. We're not picking tonight's game. But I'm going to take the Cowboys. And then as much as I want to pick tonight's game, I'm going to triple play the SMU ponies, getting a point in a half at Louisville. That's my play there as I'm not sure. You've probably seen the articles and whatnot, Dan, but SMU does have a game changer at quarterback. 800 passing yards, two games. Kevin Jennings is a baller beat up on an average level team.
Starting point is 01:04:40 I think SMU is getting one. I think SMU is getting one. and a half on the road. All right. It has like one sack through two games. I'm a fan. So I'm going to triple the ponies and take the Cowboys. Whipple, Whipple,
Starting point is 01:04:54 Play. What do you think about your teenage pick there? I love it. Kevin Jennings went to Sock, right? Yeah. Yeah. And Sock, I don't know if you know this,
Starting point is 01:05:05 Dan, is located right next to Donovan Lewis Drive. So we all love to see that. Okay. Kevin Jennings is a baller, and Louisville is terrible defensively, so we need to get back on track here. Pony up. That's awesome.
Starting point is 01:05:20 Rich Phillips, you know. Donovan got himself a street named after him. Mm-hmm. Have you seen it? Have you been to it? And no one had to kill him by accident? Oh. He's still alive.
Starting point is 01:05:31 Excellent. Great. Like one of the few, like William D. Tate, like I just don't know a lot of people that are alive with streets named after them. It's a good point. Yeah. Yeah. That's great.
Starting point is 01:05:41 That's great. More, right? Dirk still has the street name. Nowitzky Way. Yeah. Okay. It'll look funny when it's just a Whole Foods. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:05:49 Which it will be. But that's Dirk's way. Flags fly forever. T.C. I also will reluctantly take the Cowboys for my triple play. Made a lot of hay last week. Fade in the Root Hogs. Love the Root Hogs.
Starting point is 01:06:05 We're going to have to fade them again. I will take Georgia over Arkansas. Back to you, Dan. Damn. Triple, triple, triple, triple. What's our spread there? A million? 20-something.
Starting point is 01:06:16 Okay. 24 and a half, I want to stay. Yeah, 24 and a half. All right. This one? Yeah. It'll be Team S&M here. As I have the next best record, we have the next best record.
Starting point is 01:06:30 I will start week two. Gambling in week two. You like to look for week one anomalies, like teams that looked way worse than you thought they were going to be, way better than you thought they were going to be, and maybe it was because of the opponent. And I think we had that with possibly Jacksonville last week. The Jacksonville-Denver game is a perfect example of this. Like Denver, are they that bad?
Starting point is 01:06:59 And Jacksonville, facing the Brown, are they that good? Now Jacksonville goes on the road to Denver. So Denver, that's a tasty pick. I'm not going to go with that one, though. Ooh, good. Similar thing happened, I think, the Green Bay Packers took on Minnesota. Green Bay, incredible. If you look at the final stats, how did they lose that game by double digits?
Starting point is 01:07:25 And then you have that. They're taking on the jets. The jets certainly looked way better than anybody thought they would. On the road, it was Tennessee, right? But now Green Bay, that's a tasty nugget there. I'm not going to pick that game. Okay. feel we have similar situations when you look at the Chargers and Vegas coming in.
Starting point is 01:07:45 Chargers underperformed. You're going to pick that game? He's picking that game. Similar with the Rams and the Giants as well. The Rams are hosting the Giants. Giants look good. I'm not going to pick that game. What I'm going to look at is a team that was on the road to start.
Starting point is 01:08:02 They only lost by six, but they had four fumble, four fumbles given away. They have a quarterback who has his ex-team coming in, and the guy who is quarterbacking his ex-team is the reason this quarterback isn't there anymore. This ex-team said, oh, I want this guy so much. I'm going to give him all the money in the world, and I'm going to get rid of this quarterback who just won us a playoff game, but let's get rid of him because this guy's way better. So this quarterback has revenge in his heart.
Starting point is 01:08:36 we have a team that is actually due to cover. They are currently, did you know, when I give you the team's name, on an 0-10 against the spread run. Oh, and 10, their last 10 games. And how many of those cost you points? And the team that they're facing, the team that's coming in secretly wants their quarterback to really fail so that they don't have to start him next week at home
Starting point is 01:09:01 because that's just going to cause a... Anyway, the point is... We're going to take the Tampa Bay Buccaneers against the Browns. They're favored by like eight. I don't care. It could be 50. We're going triple play. The Tampa Bay.
Starting point is 01:09:16 Triple play. Buckingiers. You can't just pick your fat head every week. This can. He will. If you can pick the team that's playing Arkansas every week, I certainly can. And as for the cowboy game, I feel very similar to at least you sounded like you actually are reluctant.
Starting point is 01:09:36 Because I think the defense sucks. I don't think it's a good defense. I think that their offense has to just come out as if it's going to be a shootout. I don't know if Shottie has that in him. He's a very conservative guy. But I think Dak does play great at home. I'm counting on Brandon Aubrey to hit a couple of 60, 65-yarders. And so give me the Cowboys to cover four points at home.
Starting point is 01:10:08 because I think they're probably going to get spanked against Baltimore the following week. So they better win this game. Mike Soroy. First off, I think they're going to get rid of Novitsky Way and then the city, whether it be official or not, nickname 75, the Dirk-Novitsky Highway. Okay. Bridging their former home to wherever their new home is. I love that.
Starting point is 01:10:29 I think that would be cool. 75 doesn't have a name. We name streets here. A bit of a wrench in your plans, it does have a name, but back to you. What is it? It's officially named. for George W. Bush. Oh.
Starting point is 01:10:40 75 is? Yeah, there's signs for it. There's two bushes? Yes. I thought the Bush is the other one. Yes. It's the dumbest thing on earth. I agree.
Starting point is 01:10:47 I hate it. I hate it. That one's for Jeb. But in the official record, it has a name on it. It's a president. I don't think they're going to take it off. Go ahead. You're saying we don't just change names of significant monuments and buildings in this country these days?
Starting point is 01:11:03 Ooh. I like that. It'll be the highway of, of America. I like your bucks pick, actually. I do like the Cowboys. Jump on board the bucks. I will pick them.
Starting point is 01:11:16 We're not allowed to pick the same game against each other. We could pick it with each other, though. Can we? We can't double up a triple. Yeah, go ahead. No, I'm not doing them. Come on. Come on.
Starting point is 01:11:24 It's a good idea. My picks are locked before I walk in these. Your model. My heart. So I'm looking to take somebody on. Let's see what you guys do. I thought I was about some brownies, boy. I don't want that.
Starting point is 01:11:35 I don't want this. I actually think the Cowboys are going to win this week. But I think four and a half points is a lot. And I'm taking Washington plus four and a half. Is it four and a half on everything? Yes. Okay.
Starting point is 01:11:49 Oh, plus four. I'm sorry. Plus four. Plus four. But I'm still taking Washington because I just don't know what to make of the Cowboys. I think they're all right. But triple time, you do not give Jim Mora Jr. 17.5 points when he's at home.
Starting point is 01:12:04 This is written. Colorado State plus 17. half is my triple play getting 17 and a half at home against BYU. Ripple, Ripple, Colorado State. They still have bear. And Jim Mora's there, huh?
Starting point is 01:12:20 Yeah. I know. Sneaky good team. He did so well at UCon. They're playing BYU. Oh, really? Neaky good coach. Jim Morr Jr.
Starting point is 01:12:28 Colorado State. Not a good time. Do you remember BYU's quarterback from last year, Dan? No. Was he a soaker? The one that had sex? No, he's, uh, His name is Bear Bachmire.
Starting point is 01:12:41 He wears like number 47. Started as a true freshman. Extremely unstable. But yeah, every announcer loves him. His brother's name is like deer or something. Lion. Lion. Seriously, they have a fight.
Starting point is 01:12:52 And he plays receiver. Yeah, his brother does. Yeah. Very, very BYU situation. But go, go Colorado State. Thank you. Does Mitt Romney's sons play on the team still or whatever? They did, right?
Starting point is 01:13:05 Tussons. Yeah, some of Mitt Romney's fans. We played on BYU. All right. Team last place. Is that the team name you guys are taking? For now. And Blake.
Starting point is 01:13:21 Blake. So I did not know I'd have to fight a cowboy homer each week as only one person in this room or Zoom meeting has worked for a station that is in the Cowboys owner back pocket. KT. squarely had his Cowboys glasses on last week, even though I had a long tirade about how the Cowboys were going to get punched in the mouth. One of us was right, and that was me, and that's why we're in last place. But I'm going to go first. That way Kevin can't ruin us with his triple play.
Starting point is 01:13:48 It's a four-point swing, guys. I mean, we could be tied for first right now had he not done that, and just been the Giants Cowboys Homer. This week I'm going to triple play the Cowboys minus four. Whoa. We've seen how this story goes. They will beat the shit out of the commanders this week, and it's going to be back to the Super Bowl.
Starting point is 01:14:07 I've seen this movie too many times. They will destroy Washington. I will have the exact same disposition that I had this week. You won't. I will. Which my disposition this week is it's one game. I think they're a good team. No, Jay and Daniel stinks.
Starting point is 01:14:19 We should fire. What will your disposition be when they do lose? Because their defense sucks. If they lose and it's because, you know, depends on the type of game. You're not just box score watching. No, no. Then I would say that's not good. You only play 16.
Starting point is 01:14:33 You got two more if you get beat up bad. They will hold the commanders to 10 points in every. Everyone will be glazing Christian Parker. You know it. They'll win by a lot. I think Jane Daniels' mom is worth more than 10. You can try and meet her pregame? No.
Starting point is 01:14:52 Tell her you're really proud of how she's raising her son. That's how you're raising your kids? No, I'm good. Sorry, KT. Go ahead. Just to step on Blake's narrative, I was unceremoniously let go by Dallas Cowboys.com once upon a time. Just after I left the fan. those years, years ago.
Starting point is 01:15:10 They can't keep KT in a box. This guy's a fucking shoot from the hip, dude. You'd better look out. Tell it like it is. Yeah. I hope you're all ready for the wrath. For my triple play, I've had my eyes all over, Aaron Rogers and the Mike McCarthy reunion because they're back together after what
Starting point is 01:15:29 Aaron Rogers did to him on December 2, 2018. Go watch that game. Aaron Rogers got Mike McCarthy fired. But last year, Rogers never even tried to throw it deep. Yeah, no, don't. Or do. Last year, Rogers never even tried to throw it deep.
Starting point is 01:15:46 And watching last week, he looked a little more mobile, and he threw it down the field six times. Did he complete any of those? No, he didn't. And that's going to scare me away for this. I'm backing off of that one. I went to UNT. I love what UNTs got going, dude. Getting three in San Marcus against the Texas State butt munchers, I like it.
Starting point is 01:16:08 But after all of this has happened and just seeing how things have played, I was thinking about the 2024 Washington commanders team that went to the NFC championship game. A lot of people just go, those guys were really good. They really weren't that good. When you think about the 2024 Washington commanders, they had the fifth most healthy roster. They were eight and four and one score games. And down the stretch, here's the quarterbacks they played. Cooper Rush, Will Levis, Spencer Rattler, Kenny Pickett, Michael Pennix Jr. and Trey Lance. only won one of those games by more than six points.
Starting point is 01:16:42 Let's go, Blake. Let's get back in this thing. Triple play. You're Dallas. Whoa. All right. Wow. Ripple,
Starting point is 01:16:48 whipple, whipple. They're panical. Let's go. Yeah, no, it does feel like a late marriage baby. We'll just see if this will fix things. A double triple, you two. We tried the dog.
Starting point is 01:17:02 Yeah. Let's try a kid. Amazing. The double triple. On the cowboys, no less. All right. Well, great having you guys in once again. Man, that game's going to be fun.
Starting point is 01:17:14 We look forward to doing it again. Go Rangers. Thursday. See you next Thursday. Just pick a kid. Sorry about the white socks. Looks like the Indians are overtaking the white socks and about to just knock them right out of the playoffs. If you want to get overconfident about that, you can.
Starting point is 01:17:30 That was a fun little season you had, though. A little patchy on your little head and go back to where are you playing now, Indiana. wherever the White Sox play. Thank you guys. Thank you everybody. Thank you, KT. And thank you T-speed. And I'm just looking for my run sheet.
Starting point is 01:17:53 Well, we could talk to you about sports and fit. Okay. Let's do viewer mail. Let's have it brought to us by Plum Quick. Starting point is 01:19:14 Hey, yeah, mail Is there any mail in your box for me? Let's see here It's time for viewer mail Let's see I'll go first. I told you guys recently Did we follow up on my buddy
Starting point is 01:19:42 Who would do the, I told you I had a buddy Who would do the blow dry as nuts? Uh, you did tell us that. but I don't know that we followed up on. So I got a couple of emails. There's a guy who's a home builder, and he says, so I had a buddy. He was a bigger gentleman.
Starting point is 01:20:01 And when I lived with him, I would always hear a blow dryer in the bathroom. I'm like, that's weird. The guy barely has any hair. And he was like, no, I blow dry my undercarriage, my taint, every time I get out of the shower. He's like, I can't get it dry enough with the towel. Blow dryer gets it done.
Starting point is 01:20:17 he's like there's even a button you can press for like not super hot air yeah cool yeah so uh i said you know i think it was grady who was like why don't we have like the bathroom hand dryer thing for your body and this gentleman harrison weighs in says they do exist i've designed uh bathrooms with a few of them they can go for a ton of money but a general good brand that isn't absurd in terms of materials it's the valerio full body dryer seven foot waterproof with motion sensor it's about $2,000 bucks. Seven feet tall,
Starting point is 01:20:51 you just walk into this bad boy. So it might be worth it for the den post-sunday sweaty stream. Some homeowners swear by it
Starting point is 01:21:01 so much they do not keep towels in their master bath. Yeah, I was thinking you'd have to go outside like on a windy day and do the
Starting point is 01:21:12 happy baby pose. That'd probably feel better. Because that would air it out. But this thing looks cool. And you get a bug in there though if you're going outside.
Starting point is 01:21:21 I mean, just imagine like how Jetsons you'd feel. It looks like a scale almost. Like you stand on it and it shoots air up your body. I would like to see it, but I don't know that I'd dry. It's an option for you. Hello to the IM pay of the Good Good Lay.
Starting point is 01:21:41 Talk of Carter's Incident Reports. This is, I think, about your son being a maniac. Got me to thinking about something I think falls into both playground myth and movie trope. The idea of the permanent record at school. Yeah. A bad kid on TV would go to the office. They would whip out a giant file folder showing all the incidents and bad things they have done. Not sure if this was ever a thing or just something made to scare kids at school.
Starting point is 01:22:12 That leads to kind of a gummy thought. In the digital age, would a TV principal show how many gigs of data the digital file is to the bad kids to communicate how big their file is? Or do they have to print it all out to add a visual aid? That's interesting. That's from Stephen with a pH. We don't, look, I have the permanent file threat made it to my era. You got that at the ticket, though, right? Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 01:22:41 He had a file. So they do that at corporate, and I guess that's a, in case we ever got to fire you. Because of your tweets? A couple of them, yeah. Couple of them. Was it you or Danny? I thought somebody was like tweeting at someone in corporate. Danny did and didn't get suspended.
Starting point is 01:22:59 I did for a day or two. But Danny tweeted out the mailing address and the phone number of like Cumulus Corporate during a day when none of the equipment worked. But of course, he was not. I'm curious, I still don't understand why that's like the sort of thing to get in. I mean... It's so funny, but clearly, local
Starting point is 01:23:24 or like if equipment's not working I don't think they put any request to hey can you help us fix the equipment and corporate said no right it is local people saying well I'm keeping that budget low so that
Starting point is 01:23:38 my job stays safe right it's both I mean they sent us that guy every it was whenever I know but locally they could have had control over that guy and said hey I need my guys to consult on how this studio is going to be set up. There's no way that this guy just ran over a five-time program director of the year and all that kind of stuff, right?
Starting point is 01:24:05 Yeah, you're probably right. I don't know exactly how it worked. I just know that I was in the... But it's easy to pass that buck up there. Thick of it, man. I was doing the top 10 at night by myself. Nothing worked. Literally nothing that I needed worked.
Starting point is 01:24:17 Well, you figured it out. At some point, but not without firing off a couple tweets. and then you got suspended? Mm-hmm. And then what does that mean? You just no pay for two days? KT does your job for a couple days. It's not like you were making that much either.
Starting point is 01:24:32 That couldn't have been that much money lost. I think I was in like... And it was a couple days off. 29-5. So it was probably pretty kickoff to get a couple days off. No, it was pretty horrible. Really? Yeah, it was pretty horrible.
Starting point is 01:24:44 Thought I was getting fired. Everyone was calling me. It sucked. It was my fault. It was humbling. Speaking of that, this was sent to me, this is from the Rangers pregame show. This is a female reporter that I don't know who this is. I just want to say I respect her.
Starting point is 01:25:01 I think she's awesome. She is the best at her job and earned it, whatever it takes. But I don't know who this is. But this is around 9-11. And they're talking about Skip. Everyone has a different experience remembering 9-11. And for Skip, who was playing in the New York Penn League. at the time of the tragedy.
Starting point is 01:25:22 He actually took a flight out of Newark on September 8th and told us that 25 years later it still feels humbling knowing that he flew out of the same airport as one of those hijacked planes just three days prior. You know, several of the players were out. You know, you idiot. It's one of the busiest airports on the earth. I don't know, bro.
Starting point is 01:25:38 Three days before. Call my friend Stretch Armstrong. Oh, my gosh. He's humbled to have flown out. What? Shit, I've been in New York. Like, what is the... We flew out into New Jersey on 9-11.
Starting point is 01:25:51 You felt it? I felt the power when we landed. Humbolded? You were feeling pretty full of yourself and you were like, you know what? I'm more like the lowly widow. You know, I flew out of fucking JFK. I called my dad, you know. Listen to how hushed, she said. Everyone has a different experience remembering 9-11.
Starting point is 01:26:09 Yeah, some guys were there, they were jumping out of the building. Some guys, you know, they were scheduled to be there that day. Some guys, their wife was on Flight 93. Let's hear how important this was for Skip Schumacher. for Skip, who was playing in the New York Penn League at the time of the tragedy. He actually took a flight out of Newark on September 8th and told us the 25 years later it still feels humbling. Eighth. Hold on a second.
Starting point is 01:26:33 Don't know. Don't know. That's from Brian. That's great. Thank you, Brian. I got another one from a dentist. Is this rinse? Do you talk about his favorite time?
Starting point is 01:26:50 First of all, I just want to say that this guy's name is boy. Okay. And if your name is Boyd and you became a dentist, you have done way better than everyone was expecting. So in Newark, Newark's airport, there's 500 departures and 500 arrivals per day. Right. So there were 2,000 flights before 9-11 after his flight. How many people are on a flight? 100, 200?
Starting point is 01:27:16 Yeah, 150-ish. So that times thousands. Millions of people. Yeah. Like how many people? now can then kind of tie themselves to 9-11. Billions, maybe. Because I flew out of newer.
Starting point is 01:27:28 But they're humbled. They're humbled. But what if you flew out of like just New York City that, in that I would probably feel a little humbled there? I think that there's a good chance that Skip Schumacher is more shoddy than Shottie is. And we just don't know it because. We don't cover him. Yeah, and he's not talking as much.
Starting point is 01:27:49 But that feels like if Shottie said that, yeah, no, I was basically, I basically killed bin Laden because I flew out of Newark on 9-8. Settled down, pal. But yeah, the email from Boyd, let me get back over to it here. I know I'm way behind on this, but as a dumb zone, DDS,
Starting point is 01:28:10 I would like to register my vote. Jake is correct. See, that's why he's reading it. You should. He hates Dennis. Expectorate, but not rinse. Remember when we learn that word? No.
Starting point is 01:28:23 What's that? It means spit. Oh, really? Mm-hmm. So if you want to work that into your... No, I don't. Expectorate. A verb that means...
Starting point is 01:28:32 I would not like her to know that word. I expect you not to expectorate. Yeah, I just don't want you to have that in your vocabulary. You shouldn't know what that means. That's not an option. He says, I will grant there are carve-outs for some special home-care routines, but generally speaking, again, Jake is correct. Then he added a gummy thought.
Starting point is 01:28:50 I do the home-care routine. The falling would never happen, even though Hillary lost, but it would be fantastic. A game show where you have to rank hots and hijabs. It could even be a live interactive Netflix thing where viewers could vote. Imagine the big reveal. I'm totally in. I saw a hot in a hijab yesterday. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:29:11 I was so jealous of the guy. Really makes the eyes pop. That's the only reason you were jealous of him? Because he had the hot in the hijab. Yeah. And he was a UT fan. He sat at the 50-yard line. It's not confusing, but it's fine.
Starting point is 01:29:26 Yeah, that gummy thought is brought to us by Early Bird CBD. Earlybird CBD.com. If you use the code Dumbzone, even if you've used codes before and you're like, oh, that was a one-time code. Well, this will work again. Dumb zone, all one word, no spaces, 20% off. 20% off. So they're looking for that, you know, there's a federal. ban and there could be
Starting point is 01:29:53 some regulatory framework that might mean early bird CBD, you're not allowed to get it like in the next couple of months so why don't you stock up on some of that? 2.5 milligrams
Starting point is 01:30:08 of THC so if you get drug tested at work it's no good for you unless you work here bro you better test positive for THC you know what I mean? Pop man but we will not have you on staff if you pay full price. So use promo code
Starting point is 01:30:24 dumb zone and get 20% off at early birdcbd.com. I got a couple. The first from Seen. He says, who is better to give us a judgment on what is funny if not Cooper Manning's son?
Starting point is 01:30:40 If Arch laughs at it, don't you think it is funny? That's a great point. I saw some good stuff online just about Hey, was the Peyton Manning bit funny where he's throwing footballs through the, through 14-year-old kids' heads or 10-year-olds or whatever on SNL? Like, can we not just say something is funny? But then it has to have a deeper meeting? I don't know.
Starting point is 01:31:05 Yeah, I'm tired. You just want to stop it all? Yeah, I kind of agree with that. I don't. I think the Peyton Manning thing is funny. I think most people have a brain. but I also think when stories like this happen, it becomes everyone's moment to let you know
Starting point is 01:31:21 what they think about the world. It's like, I didn't ask. No, now I'm, because you see like Fox News people or the regular political people jumping into this one and you're like, ah. Yep. And after seeing, like, there's a part of Twitter that will let you know which SEC quarterbacks
Starting point is 01:31:41 and what they're doing on Snapchat. And just to see that Arge thinks an AI video is funny, like makes him seem more wholesome to me. Yeah, most of them are asking you to bend over and spread it open for them. Yeah, Alabama wants to take turns. Yeah. But, all right. A couple from Daney Jeans. The first is a movie trope.
Starting point is 01:32:01 He lived in the same house as me, Dan. Hmm. In San Marcos. Did you know it? Or was he, like, hiding? He was there the whole time. Yeah, he was like Bruno and Enconto. Thank you to no one.
Starting point is 01:32:12 When the FBI places a microphone in a crowded room to record a conversation between two people, they play the audio back, which is just millions of people talking at the same time. But then one of the detectives says, isolate it. Then a guy turns a knob and all of a sudden the conversation between the two people comes. Yeah, I can tell you, as one of a few AV professionals in the room, I would pay untold millions for that software. We all would. Come on.
Starting point is 01:32:36 There it is. And then, you know, they show the waveform. How about the making a picture? And all of a few, shrink. Yeah, yeah. You can't do that. And then the other thing is a playground thing. He says electric eels.
Starting point is 01:32:50 I was always afraid I was going to step on one. Yo. I think I thought they were all electric. I really did. Like, what else is an eel? You see them at the aquarium now, and I'm like, okay. Yeah, I would assume they are. But he's right.
Starting point is 01:33:05 They're not. No. That's a good one. J.R. movie trope. Dear Daniel, speaking on the phone, saying your line, and then hanging up. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:33:18 Just the not saying goodbye type thing on the on TV. I think does happen a lot. He says, My leader is Jasmine's laser hair removal. Back in, stand a pee, use a pee bottle, but don't jar. From JR. This is a quick Roseanne from Tyler. I put it in the folder, Clayton.
Starting point is 01:33:42 Ohio State quarterback Julian Sayan. Now this is one. you're not going to see coming, but let me tell you something. That right there is going to be a Roseanne. Julian Sane has a, he looks like the little kid from Sandlot. Yeah, I was just thinking that. He's got a very rotund face. He doesn't look like your typical square-jawed quarterback.
Starting point is 01:34:03 Ohio State's quarterback will look like Roseanne one day. Thank you, Tyler. Okay, that's a real big. There's another one. That's a time capsule thing, though. That's basically Roseanne right there, that photo. You need to put that next to horse. racing and just other big proclamations that you can't tell for decades.
Starting point is 01:34:20 And Jared being a bad youth sports parent. I don't say bad. I just think Jared is a very, he's like me. He's very high-strung. Right. He will be yelling. Speaking of that, that's a good way to get into my other trope and viewer mail. I told Dan this off the air, but the new movie trope is character maybe wakes up or
Starting point is 01:34:41 leaves their house. And a lot of people are saying stuff to them. that they don't understand. So in the movie Goat, the Steph Curry movie, he beats a guy or he does. He has a big moment in like one on one. And he goes to bed that
Starting point is 01:34:58 night, but it turns out it was filmed and it went viral. So when he leaves his house the next morning, everyone's like, oh, what up? Goat! He's like looking around. You know that thing in movies? That's a good one. Well, I had that where I got like three emails in the span of two
Starting point is 01:35:14 weeks that were like, hey dude, I don't care what everyone says. I think you're cool. People that were like, I know you, everyone's saying you suck. And I was like, finally like the third time, I was like, hey, what's going on? And the guy was like, oh, it's just people are mad at you for yelling at Dan. And I want to say that if you've ever seen the movie D2,
Starting point is 01:35:39 it's the sequel to Mighty Ducks. There's a scene where Kenny Wu is hauled off the ice after he takes on Iceland's enforcers and he says two minutes well worth it take me to the fucking box if you're on your phone during the show I will yell
Starting point is 01:35:56 so round up your emails and send them my way I don't care I think you were just mean and you shouldn't have yelled at me and it really hurt my feelings and I was on the thread that he was on that's what makes it worse for him I know how low-privile
Starting point is 01:36:14 I didn't need. No, I shouldn't have been texting right there. It was dumb. And he doesn't do it on his computer because he's not an I message guy. I'm an I message guy. Couldn't find the eggplant emoji. I thought you told us before you were like, I don't want the texts on my computer. This is like work. And I kind of feel that. And I do I message. Maybe that was a long time ago. I've changed a lot in the last five years. You haven't recognized that. I'm not going to recognize it. I'm going to yell at you. And I don't care. Well, then I won't be able to sleep that night. And I'm going to have to go to counseling. You should. Then I'm going to find myself in the bottom of a bottle.
Starting point is 01:36:47 This is how bad, this is how, Bob and I had to call Bob last night. And I was like, I get it, man. I see what you're saying now. He's got his army. No, that's your little guy. His minions that he commands. Immediately, Blake was like, oh, what do we do we do the show for the listener? I'm like, oh, yeah, I bet he came up with that on his own.
Starting point is 01:37:05 Where did that come from? I got one criticizing me. Send me more. What? You'll only make me stronger. Kemp 888 at gmail.com. Tom G. 1310 at what was Gribble's email?
Starting point is 01:37:23 Junior was mind spring. That was always funny. One guy mad at me. One guy mad at Jake's cowboy opinion. Which one? Well, do you want me to read these? I want you to read all of them. Y'all can't stop me.
Starting point is 01:37:37 We've crossed the Rubicon. I'll be the guy now. I'll be Bob. Read it. Read it. Wanted the bad guy. Do you wanted it? Let's go.
Starting point is 01:37:47 Do you wanted the bad guy? This one is about no fault divorce. Zach said, I heard your chat about the proposed Texas legislation. You then proceeded to tell a story about your grandma getting divorced because she was being abused. I'm fairly certain being abused would be a fault. And so your grandma would have been able to get a divorce under the proposed Texas law. I'm not saying this is the best policy or right for Texas. But I think you have a bad argument here like he once told Norm.
Starting point is 01:38:12 rock on thanks for the show from Zach well and that maybe I feel like he's right um it but in some states in some states it's not getting slapped around is a fault
Starting point is 01:38:27 well no but the the fault back in my grandma's day it turned out to be the judge ruled it was her fault for being such a mouthy bitch yeah I mean I think I know that's a joke it's not a joke that that was common.
Starting point is 01:38:43 Well, she, and also, the thing is, she knew he was drinking, and then you don't talk to him then. Right, you knew we were up against it. Right. Financially. Let's bring Mouthey back.
Starting point is 01:38:53 I mean, that's a good insult. Mouthy. Yeah. Not to be, think about this guy's point, though. So what does your grandma do? She has to prove, like in a court of law?
Starting point is 01:39:02 Well, I thought the guy had a good point. But what I'm saying is that if your grandma is like, okay, I'm being abused, that's how I'm going to get it out of the fault of divorce. They're like, okay, where's a police report? Yeah. You think that was easy to get? Like a domestic abuse charge against the guy in 1960?
Starting point is 01:39:21 You know what I'm saying? Like, I don't know that that was an easy route. So I... Yeah, I would guess not. So I'd say it's a terrible point in a bad email, and you should email me about it. Okay. And then this one is about Jake talking cowboys. He'll do that.
Starting point is 01:39:40 But I think he's agreeing with you. It says here, this is from Matt. He says, Jake is right. How could the media be so mean and invent the term Gotti and create these unrealistic expectations? How could they goad shoddy and by extension Jake, your old partner Sturm, into talking about Christian Parker like he's the next buddy Ryan
Starting point is 01:39:59 or that Quinn and Williams is the best D-Ly Minutes since Reggie White? It's just so mean of them to put expectations out there when the team is just trying to go about their business without calling unwarranted attention to themselves. Obviously it was that same media that caused Barham to not even attempt to push Singletary out of bounds on his touchdown. I meant to go back and look at that. I didn't.
Starting point is 01:40:19 Everyone is just out to get to our poor cowboys. It's not fair. That's from D.F. Matt. All right. A lot of last names of players Nolan Ryan has struck out. He's gotten one blue, three greens, eight browns, three whites, and no blacks. He's gotten a flood and a rivers. Trio three times.
Starting point is 01:40:54 A law and an order. He's rung up three bells. He's sold. He struck out Moses. Jerry Moses. He's gotten the Adams family, Glenn, Mike, and Ricky, and he's sent bench to the bench
Starting point is 01:41:07 seven times. He's gotten 13 Davises, including Trench, your favorite Davis. In this day and age of big dollars, he's gotten cash, money, and price. He's banned a king and a queen, Al and Mel. Is that all?
Starting point is 01:41:25 No, there's more. O'1 filed away, and it is now nothing in two to Ron Hessey, who has struck out twice tonight. He's fanned a lawless and a crook and several players who've been in jail. He's gotten Ripley, believe it or not. He's gotten an alley, a shoe, a gamble, a strange, a bass, a bean, a bird, a cat, a moose, a cookie and a Bip, a hacker, a belcher, and a clutz.
Starting point is 01:41:55 Oh, gee, was anybody named Smith in there? Bunches of Smiths. No other Ryans, by the way. 02 and Hassee is gone. Strikeout number 13 for Ryan. Let's see, Hasse's now number 499-5-0-0-1 and 5-0-0-0-7. Ron was all around it tonight, wasn't he? He was all-around faint.
Starting point is 01:42:24 You're listening to The Dumb Zone. Let us promote one week from tomorrow. We will be at Conne Roso in Carrollton for pizza. Pizza Friday. That's a good bit. No doubt. Hey, are you going to be in town? Are you leaving town?
Starting point is 01:42:51 This weekend? No, the following weekend. What are you doing with the, what are you doing with the Cowboys Travel Game? So all of the broadcast, including Brad and Babe, will be doing the game from AT&T Stadium. We'll call games off, or we'll call the game off of a monitor just like a lot of people did during COVID. Except for Christy. Yeah, now Christy told us she's actually on the charter to the game and we'll do sideline reports from Rio. In Spanish.
Starting point is 01:43:17 And relay them back to Brad and Babe at AT&T state. Portuguese, rather. And you will be with... We have our whole outfit. You'll be in this, an empty stadium. They're, I think they're doing like a watch-along on the plaza outside, maybe. But yes, it'll be an empty stadium except for some radio folks. They better not skimp on the food.
Starting point is 01:43:44 They will absolutely skimp on the food. I was reading a thing. It said like they had the best media food in the league. Is that true? Cowboys? Yeah. Yeah. In fact, I thought this year I might take notes on each press box and deliver a maybe
Starting point is 01:43:58 a top five or top ten, kind of like that Emily bitch did on Arrowhead Water. Whoa. Emily, my email is J-Camp 88 at gmail.com. A lot of vitriol on today's show. It's our Friday, guys. Jake nailed. How is she qualified to do an article on water tasting? Has she proven anything?
Starting point is 01:44:18 She said she's a baker. Like she straight up said, I'm really into something, and it's not water. And if you're- Here's my opinions on it. Creative and artsy enough and, you know, qualified to write articles on whatever else. How does that make you qualified to taste water? And I just want to apologize for laughing at the video I saw of Blake punching the lady who reviewed the water. There's no place for it.
Starting point is 01:44:43 I didn't. It's not who I am. I have a weekend, no wife. And Dana, we tried to get you to watch the movie Road Trip at one point when your daughter was going to college. Because it was the only way we all knew Ithaca college. Yeah. There's also a thing in that movie where Tom Green is the stoner roommate. And they're like, where'd they go?
Starting point is 01:45:07 He's like, I think they went to Austin. Austin College, but it's Boston. And the other day, Blake asked me where my wife was going. And I was like, Ah, Newport Beach, which I looked up, is in California. And this morning I was like, watch her, last night I was watching her pack. And she's going to Newport, Rhode Island. Oh, that's the other side of the country, right? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:45:29 And I have the type of relationship where for months, she's been telling me she was going on this trip. and at no point that I really locked into the point that That's fine, yeah, you don't need to know where she's going All you know is where she's not going to be It's true It's true, but I was like, I'm Rhode Island, huh? That's interesting That is interesting
Starting point is 01:45:51 Let's call this Because I got a little audio From the wonderful world of sports Radio Sports Scoreboard Oh yeah, I like that Oh Clayton I didn't talk to you but I third on the run sheet.
Starting point is 01:46:07 Can we play the Brandon video? We want to make this sponsored by Fair Lease. And Brandon Aubrey now has a Fair Lease vehicle. We played it on the game stream the other day. But we actually filmed a little video to help Brandon with his Instagram. And then some of these, sometime this might be on the Cowboys broadcast this year. But do we have that available? All right, let's take a look.
Starting point is 01:46:36 There's Brandon kicking some balls. On the field. Yeah. There's a car on the field. Here's your car, Mr. Aubrey. Y'all weren't kidding about delivering anywhere. This is Fairleaks. We never kid.
Starting point is 01:46:53 There's T.C.'s drone work. We were trying to, Brandon was trying to hit the drone with the ball. Look at that. Yeah, that's awesome. It's incredible. You say you have another one, too? Do we do that today? Hold it.
Starting point is 01:47:13 We're going to hold the other one? All right. I like how Connor from Fairleys muscled out every other credit union or Fairlease employee. Yeah, I'm a football player. I got this. I've been on a field. We had to practice him doing that line so much without him laughing.
Starting point is 01:47:29 It's very funny. The first time I saw it, I laughed out loud. He just started laughing his ass off. What is the Fairle's hotline for our listeners only? Like, don't we have a line right? Right to Connor and Nick. It is 972705-4815. That's for Connor or Nick.
Starting point is 01:47:49 And say, hey, what's Brandon Aubrey like? He sounds so mean. What's he like in person? Yeah, I have a little sports audio for you. And I also just kind of want to talk about the cowboy game. But before we get to the cowboy game, let me go to the other thing that is really taking a lot of my attention. And that is the story of my childhood team who you're like, ah, man, they're 0 and 16.
Starting point is 01:48:18 Well, that's kind of good. They can't, nothing can get worse. Somehow I feel like this is worse. I feel like what the hole that they're in right now, it's, you're in a, I guess, quicksand, but it's, uh, it's a tornado, but it's not a tornado. It's like a big phase. You're trying to claw your way out of this. Is it true?
Starting point is 01:48:39 Inside of a tornado that's not even true. It's unbelievable, like, whatever they're doing. It's a car wreck. I have to watch it. And so, you know, I always listen to Shottie's, you know, press conferences. I've now been listening to Todd Munkin's press conferences. Hell yes. Because I'm like, what is this guy, what is his bit?
Starting point is 01:49:01 So this was very funny after the game. So Todd Munkin, how old do you think Todd Munkin is? Is he in his 50s? Yeah. He's a very ambiguous man, though. He's kind of like shoddy in that he never got his opportunity until the Browns interviewed seven other people and they all said no.
Starting point is 01:49:20 And they were like, well, what if we just go with Todd Munkin? He's 60. Just turned 60. It's the guy who's never gotten, he knew the opportunity had passed him by. He's not going to get a head coaching job. Well, then all of a sudden they don't give it to Jim Schwartz. He gets Maddie Lee. Like all these people that they were going to give it to like just bowed out.
Starting point is 01:49:39 and Todd Munkin ends up with the job. So they're asking, they're taking his temperature after the game. Like they got drilled. They got destroyed. Yeah. They scored a garbage time touchdown. All their yards were garbage time. I looked at the box score.
Starting point is 01:49:55 I was like, I don't know, I got 250. They didn't, that was, they got nothing done in that game. The drive chart is hilarious. So are you upset, Todd Munkin? I'm not, I'm not down. I'm disappointed. I mean, you're not going to get me down. I mean, I've waited a long time to be a head coach in this league, man.
Starting point is 01:50:11 It's freaking awesome. That I worry about with guys like that. For real. I'm a head coach, man. Look at this. I got that office. Do you see all the space? Do you see the view I got out of the office?
Starting point is 01:50:24 I see my checking account? Yeah. I got my own bathroom. No. In my office, no one else goes to that bathroom. I'm the only guy that uses it. It's awesome. I'm not trying to defend Shottie.
Starting point is 01:50:34 And you guys have worked this into a world where I'm having to defend Shottie. But I do think being the coach of the Cowboys, makes you take your, even though you're like, holy shit, I'm a head coach, I think pretty quickly you're like, dude, the lights are on. This is big time. Like there is no,
Starting point is 01:50:51 but if you're Todd Martin. Yeah, you're talking to Collinsworth and Torrico and eight. Every week. Every, it doesn't matter if you're good or not. Dude, it's the big time. We're on eight prime time games. Whatever. Brown's coach, you're like, man, this is pretty sweet.
Starting point is 01:51:04 I don't, it really doesn't matter what happens here. If the lights are on, don't you think he would lose the McConaughey accent and wear a effing hat not a visor because this is the big leagues? Yeah, no, I wish he... But he's always had a... He's had this plan of if I get to the seat. You don't want to be the guy.
Starting point is 01:51:20 This is how I'm going to act. Yeah, who changes all of a sudden. This is what I'm going to do. I can't wait to be the guy who wears a visor. Some people grew up like, man, I want to wear... Who is that San Francisco coach? I want to wear a suit on the sideline, just like my hero, Tom Landry did. Jack Del Rio did it once upon a time.
Starting point is 01:51:36 That's what I'm talking about. That's who I'm talking about. No, there's another guy. The San Francisco? Tom Sula? No, but I know it did. That's a good one too, yeah. Mike Nolan.
Starting point is 01:51:46 Mike Nolan wore a suit on the side. And that's the best one. He wore a suit on the sideline with the 49ers because his dad used to do it. Anyway. Do you think the Cowboys just started hiring guys whose dad coached? So now let's go to the real source of the train wreck. Deshawn Watson. Deshawn Watson is doing his press conference.
Starting point is 01:52:10 after the game and the next day, and I took a couple of cuts from those. In case you forgot, this is not a simple ordeal that he's going through? You know, it's the NFL. It doesn't go that way all the time. So, you know, you play, you learn, and you have those opportunities. And, yeah, it's a great. That's what the NFL is a hard league. Oh, okay.
Starting point is 01:52:33 So, like, they're asking me, why do you, hey, it's a hard league, man. It's difficult. There's other players over there. Oh, okay. What about those other players? I wonder if we can somehow... What I like to do is talk about... Because I have quite a few deficiencies,
Starting point is 01:52:50 but I can ignore those. When I... When I look at other people and they're, like, doing worse than me, that makes me feel better. I like seeing the disability guy, a network guy. Because I'm like, oh, man, I thought I had bad stuff going on. Least I have legs. It's perspective.
Starting point is 01:53:06 No, I mean, bad plays are going to happen all the time. You look all around the lead. Like everyone throws interceptions, everyone make bad plays, and you know, you gotta give defense credit. He made a good play on that. That's right. Other players make bad plays. It's not just me throwing interceptions.
Starting point is 01:53:22 Why do you guys think that? I know that this is, it's been here for a few years, this situation, but it never ceases to amaze me. Like, this is the most coveted job in the world. And this, like, listen to this guy talk and tell me you think they have a prayer of being competitive. Oh, my God. You just follow the bronze for like a week.
Starting point is 01:53:44 Like, I'd rather have Coupil rush. Like, at least he's going to go out there and run the point. Like, I feel like Deshawn Watson doesn't want to be wrong. He's got a personal thing going on. It's the whole thing is just, there's no chance. Well, Deshawn, can we take some positive? I like to do it like Brad Sham does during the broadcast. Like I'm actually talking to him.
Starting point is 01:54:04 Deshawn, can we take any positives out of this game? He's down there. How's he? Yeah, final completions, operating well. That's, I mean, that's pretty much it. You had one turnover. A couple, you know, that one-sac-fomo obviously got to protect the ball, but we recovered it. Yeah, you know, that's pretty much it for real.
Starting point is 01:54:25 You know, we just didn't have opportunities in the red zone to get your points. Only six incompletions. One of them was a pick. One was the end of the game or end of the half. Tip ball. two missed throws and then a throwaway. It wasn't my fault. We just didn't get into the red zone.
Starting point is 01:54:44 I mean, if we had. He labeled that as a sack fumble. Did you see the play? Yeah. And he also did. So that was the second turnover. Maybe he's not counting the tip. But I did see it.
Starting point is 01:54:55 And yeah, I think there's a world where he could have come out and acted like an addict. I know I said that before. But I think there's a world where he could have come out and been like, I had a lot of problems, personal problems. And I'm really trying hard to get through it. And if you guys can support me, I'm going to... But he just completely skipped that step. He completely skipped, I'm sorry, I'm trying to be better,
Starting point is 01:55:22 and he's still living in resentment mode. That's a word you'll hear a lot at, like, A, A, obviously, is that most of your stuff comes down to, like, resentment. It's like, what are you holding on to? You think this guy can be good at his job, why he thinks that the reason he's not good at his job is the people he works for and in the stands. He hates those people.
Starting point is 01:55:41 Yeah. He's not there to... He didn't want to be there in the first place. And that's really, honestly, I know we say this all the time. He sold the soul. Like, he could have had $220 million with $180 guaranteed, or it could have $220 million guaranteed. And nobody's saying the Falcons are a model franchise.
Starting point is 01:55:58 I'll go to a team and a city that I have no connection with. At least he would have been kind of going home, right? He wanted to go to the Falcons to... that's where he wanted to go. That was his choice. And then the Browns money whipped him. And he was like, okay, I guess I have to do this. And he regrets it.
Starting point is 01:56:16 He regrets like listening to his people that said, well, you should do this. Yep. Because if you had 220 million or 180 million, I don't think your life is any different at all. You will live the same life moving forward. The only difference is you wouldn't be able to say, I'm the guy that got the 100% guaranteed contract. Well, yeah, that's great. You can say that.
Starting point is 01:56:41 Now we go to the Cowboys. Because the Cowboys also kick it positive. And let's talk to Shottie about some of the positives out of this week. I thought that, again, you know, on offense, some of the adjustments that we made at halftime are really, really good. I thought we did some really good things from a, you know, kickoff coverage. You know, I thought that was positive. And there you go.
Starting point is 01:57:04 It's not where you want to look, but kickoff coverage? He also had... I did watch Brandon's kicked this morning. Pretty impressive. I like this. I like this. You know, all in all, I think, you know, the plan was fine, you know. We just, you know, we didn't execute the way that we needed to. And I know, I know, talked.
Starting point is 01:57:24 I mean, shoot first play the game. The first play call year, I hated it. I thought it was a terrible call by me. And they shoved it up our butt. That's the first time I haven't swam. in the last three days. That's tough. I just left that in for you.
Starting point is 01:57:40 I know you did. Because I knew you'd love it. I don't think it's wrong to say the plan was fine. I mean, if you have a plan and your team, this is like what I always say about when people are like Jerry sucks, Romo sucks, Dax sucks, and also Garrett sucks and McCarthy sucks. I'm like, well, you know, there's the Browns over there. At some point, we can't say the plan sucked and the players suck and that one of them could, like, was probably fine. And that's also...
Starting point is 01:58:08 Well, if you're the guy who made the plan, then you're probably going to say the plan was fine. Well, yeah, that's true. But I don't know that they got... I mean, look, that J. Sean Barham clip of him turning on Parker on the sideline is not good. But I don't... I don't think they...
Starting point is 01:58:23 I do think they got out-coached. But I don't know that they were just like bucket of effort out there. I think they just were... They were confused. They were unprepared. That doesn't mean it's a bad plan, though. I think the vibes were too high coming out of camp. They're poor front runners.
Starting point is 01:58:38 It's definitely easy to say now. If they don't like that, they would have to do something about it. I think this one, I think they're talking about Barham. Let me make sure. I mean, I know you've got different packs. Oh, yeah, okay. Not about that, because that's gone viral now, but the Barham, just having him out there, trusting a rookie type thing, that's where this question is leading.
Starting point is 01:59:00 But then I thought it, again, I'm just putting a couple things in here for you. because you're going to love hearing him. I mean, I know you got different packages, but I don't know if you say you have bought him with a bet, or, you know what I'm saying? Like, how hard is it to say I got to really trust him? Yeah. Well, I mean, again, we're not going to put guys out there
Starting point is 01:59:17 that we don't trust, one. Just because a player makes a mistake, doesn't mean we don't trust them. Just like me calling a bad play, first play the game, Dak didn't lose trust in my ability to call plays. I'm pretty good at. Oh, are you?
Starting point is 01:59:34 You can just say that? I feel like the Browns. I just, everything around me is moving. And I want to make points. Because Dan earlier said, like, Shottie's the most conservative guy. He's not. And I wanted to be like, but actually he's like in the middle. But then he says stuff like this.
Starting point is 01:59:49 And it's like, why would I ever defend this guy? Won't I ever? And also, I personally have never loved the 10 to 15 to 20 play script coming out. But they live by it. we're going to do, I hate that. I think you should script based on the next play. But if you are going to do it that way, how is it possible you regret the play? It took you eight months to call.
Starting point is 02:00:18 Play one. It's the first play. That's the hook. Right. And especially if you're, because you have to say the plan was good, even though it didn't work. So if you did have eight months to call that first play, how would you end up? How would you end up saying it was a bad play call just because it didn't work? That's what you're saying.
Starting point is 02:00:40 And I think he's trying to fall on the sword a little bit to show the players, hey, it's coaches, it's players, it's everybody, it's me. But he's mixing himself up by trying to do it. He's talking in circles there. Because he brought up that one play. I feel like he thinks he made one mistake all game, and it was the opening play. Yeah. Or at least that's all I've heard him.
Starting point is 02:00:57 Anyway, then he ends with a bingo. First play the game, Dak didn't lose trust in my ability to call plays. I'm pretty good at it. But at the end of the day, I think, you know, J. Sean Barham's really smart. He's a really good football player. Did he play his best football ever? Nope.
Starting point is 02:01:11 Did not. We love that. So I want to play you this, though. Now, there's two other cuts, and they both go with what we heard all off-season, and then we heard it right away after game one. And it is, can you know what? Education coach.
Starting point is 02:01:34 That's right. So we're going to, first of all, we're just starting out showing you that this is going to be a, we have a positive atmosphere here. Hi, guys. Starting the press conference. Too big of a sniff. Calvin. Hi.
Starting point is 02:01:53 Calvin. All right. He's going to ask him about communication. Hey, I thought communication was fixed and everything. Well, you address it first and foremost. It was surprising to us that we didn't communicate very well. I spent quite a bit of time yesterday in the team meeting just going back through the keys to communication. First part is being decisive and loud.
Starting point is 02:02:13 Second part, that's the person that's giving it. And then the receiving is where we were off, you know, on a few things. Calls are being made. They have to be louder. They have to be more decisive, but they have to be received. And to co-sign that, you see us we signal all the time based on, you know, different things. So, you know, you can't hear what they're saying on the film. So there should be hand signals that show information being received and, you know, we need to be better.
Starting point is 02:02:39 And it wasn't good enough. But we emphasized that we talked about it and they understand. I think sometimes guys try to do a little bit too much in those situations. And then there's, I just kept that in because the Dallas media is really part of the Dallas organization and they want to help you come up with your excuse that players are just trying to do too much. Yeah. I mean, they care too much. Biggest fall. So I don't know.
Starting point is 02:03:04 I have a weird feeling about this. Like it all seems like bullshit. Just the whole, if we're boiling all their problems last, like, at least the way they're trying to present it, that they boiled so many of their problems last year to communicating. I just haven't heard this elsewhere. If a defense melts down or has a bad game or whatever, it's just, yeah, it's just our guys. And so we actually, are you telling me, we're now in a classroom. room going, all right, step one, folks. I'm not to clockboard. Speak loudly. You know, I mean,
Starting point is 02:03:38 think about it. What if you're trying to communicate to somebody in the back of the room? Brevin, give us an example. Right. Let's go up and, uh, have you ever heard Dak call a play? There you go. Everybody can hear them. You can hear them in the next county over. So, uh, I just feel like then you're teaching now, Kim, now listen. What's the next step to that is receiving the communication. Okay, so, okay, I'm glad to see you writing notes there, Revell. So that's great. I love it. Anyway, he goes on, like, Clarence will bring this up again.
Starting point is 02:04:12 And so I just wanted to play this because he is going to triple play a, maybe quadruple play a bingo. And it's just fun to listen to, and this is my last cut. You want to say it again? I mean, disappointed. Yeah, I mean, we were disappointed. But am I sitting here saying we're going to communicate, poorly this week? No. We're going to communicate better this week. And so, you know, did I see it coming? No, absolutely not. Do I think some of it was, like I said, you know, guys getting caught,
Starting point is 02:04:42 not sharing enough information or being loud enough and things like that? Absolutely. But in terms of, did I sleep last night because I'm worried about communication? No. I will be very surprised if we don't communicate at a much higher level in this game. But again, there will be challenges to it, Clarence, because we are playing at home with the noise and the, fans cheering their heads off. That's not a challenge! When you're playing at home, that's... That feels like him saying we ran up to the line because we were worried they were
Starting point is 02:05:10 going to overturn it. We don't... You don't worry at home. Maybe, maybe though, we're talking about the defense, because the fans are supposed to go more nuts on the defense, right? To throw the offensive. They are. But I've never in my life heard a pre-excuse given for a bad defensive force.
Starting point is 02:05:30 performance because the home crowd was so loud for the opposing offense that our defense, have you ever heard that in your life? I have not. I can't say that I have. You never saw Luke Keeckley like wave the crowd down like Peyton May. Pin drop. You need a pin drop so you can hear him say coverage in the flat. I don't know what they can communicate.
Starting point is 02:05:55 But that's tough. Anyway, I do think, I mean, we said it during picks. I feel like Blake said it bluntly like this is, we've seen it a million times. This is a big playbook. It's a big DAC thing. And it's a big home and away thing too. It's a home and away thing, not just in the NFL, but for the Cowboys for sure. They play differently on the road.
Starting point is 02:06:20 They attack things differently. And I think their manhood has been challenged. I think you also saw it. two receivers have statistically bad days for them. I know CD drew a few pass interferences, so I thought CD had a good day. George Pickens did not. He didn't have the ball. He dropped a couple of, well, they didn't have the ball because, you know,
Starting point is 02:06:45 George Pickens dropped the ball. There are two big drops. And, yes, the defense did not allow them on the field at all in the second half. And that was certainly a killer. but that's why I think your mindset has to be the defense still sucks. If they are to then change your mind, that's going to be great. But go into this knowing our defense sucks and we need seven, not three, and we need to go for it, not turtle because it's fourth and inches and we're not close enough to the 50.
Starting point is 02:07:20 you need to play balls out and put up, forget this, we win the game in the fourth quarter stuff because the defense might not allow your offense on the field during the fourth quarter. So maybe this is a lesson to learn from. He's a very, you know, very low experience head coach. He doesn't have a lot of experience in coordinator positions either. He doesn't have a lot of experience in making game day decisions. So he's learning on the job. He was last year and you still are.
Starting point is 02:07:53 We saw it. Remember the Denver thing? There was a similar situation early in the game. Oh, yeah. And now that this happened, like, and I just think week to, I think he has to, they have to be honest with themselves. And they are not being honest with themselves. Brian Schottenheimer is not able to evaluate a defense that he has not seen play,
Starting point is 02:08:14 except in practice. They don't do, you know, I just feel like he has to say, until proven otherwise, our defense sucks, and I have to coach like that for the offense. Now, if that does mean I'm going to grind out the ball and keep win the time of possession, that's great, but your running game better be working great. And it wasn't. And I'm paying C.D. Lamb and George Pickens each over $30 million, and Dak making $60 million. So I need those three guys to power this offense. that's what,
Starting point is 02:08:49 that's my opinion. But I think they will. I think they're going to blow out Washington. Because I think they kind of suck. I think David Blow might be in over his head as well. I'm not sure. But they played pretty well. Washington last week.
Starting point is 02:09:10 They got down early and battled back. They've got a couple of good receivers that could cause problems. That's why I think, I don't think they're not going to score. I don't think that the defense is going to really have this great game. It's tough. It's tough after watching. This is our Friday.
Starting point is 02:09:28 Yeah, I mean, I was surprised that it was as bad as it was the other night, but I don't want to make excuses because I'm a fan. I just feel like the game got away from them, but you only get 17 of these, so making those kind of excuses. They never got a chance to play offense the way they wanted. I don't think that they should have taken their foot off the gas. with the blitzing, but then there's DART. I think they're super, in the past, they've been super susceptible to running
Starting point is 02:09:53 quarterbacks based on the way they played defense. They played a lot of man. Their backs were turned, and quarterbacks would just take off and run. And last week, they were not man, but Jackson DART was still able to just take off whenever he wanted. And I definitely worry about every quarterback this Cowboys team plays running for four or five first downs. And it felt like Jackson Dard, a lot of those were...
Starting point is 02:10:18 called running plays for him. It wasn't like just improv. Yeah, no. And Jane Daniels will improv the hell out of things. So, yeah, I think they'll probably get smashed by Baltimore. And in that story, they need to win this week. Right. So I think they'll probably get everyone back on board.
Starting point is 02:10:36 You think you're afraid of Lamar Jackson? Yeah. Yeah. Definitely. But, I mean, the Cowboys should as, I mean, I don't have anything to add to your point. I don't know that it should dictate the way they play offense, because I think that when you decide we're going to be this or that, you screw up. Like, oh, we're a passing team this week.
Starting point is 02:10:53 But completely full stop unacceptable, you should be going out there with your nuts hanging on offense and saying, however we're doing it, we're doing it on offense. There's not a fourth and one we're not going for. We've got a lot of different ways we can get a fourth and one. We'll go for it on our own fucking 10 because that's what we're going to do with a defense that we don't trust at all. We're going for it. he will never do that, but I agree with you that that's the way they have to think.
Starting point is 02:11:21 I also still think there's a pretty good chance that by the end of the year, their defense is much, much better. I stand by average. Yeah, maybe, but, you know, other teams are possibly going through some growing pains early as well, and those teams will get better. For sure. So I agree. I just think we don't focus on every other team the way we do the Cowboys, and I think it, you know, it probably makes us.
Starting point is 02:11:45 myopic. I bet every single team that lost this week, the people that do shows in their city are like, these guys are frauds. They bullshitted us. And then you win in week two. Some people go the other way. I mean, I did not feel like
Starting point is 02:12:01 in week one, this is a championship team. Yeah. Let's do the news. It's going to be brought to us by Ridge Wallet. I hooked up Soroy. I found a Ridge Wallet the other day because they sent us a of them and I hooked up Soroy and he said I had a Ridge wallet for like since day one and I'm looking for another one I gave him another one and I uh I was very proud to do that because he's a big
Starting point is 02:12:24 ridge guy gave my dad one of these things um Ridge wallet ridge.R.com use promo code dumb zone to checkout you'll get 10% off they look super cool um they are uh they have RFID blocking in them so you're not your identity theft type thing uh they got a five and one travel power bank you can charge right there on your wallet. I want to tell you about that. So, yeah. Plug your phone into your wallet. Full disclosure, yes.
Starting point is 02:12:52 They will send us Ridge wallets because we do the spots. So, you know, hey, here's how it handled. You know, so they're great. But I went to the website and I ordered one of those from myself because the power bank, yeah, you get to have your watch, you know, you don't have to have 10 different things. You just have one thing to. Genius. It powers it all.
Starting point is 02:13:09 It's great. Genius. And you get 10% off at Ridge.com. So tell them the dumb zone sent you. It is Ridge and the Power Bank. You can get that at Best Buy or at Ridge.com and 10% off with DumbZone at checkout. Here's Jake with the Dumb Zone News.
Starting point is 02:13:29 Go! Go! Go! I can't believe that that's me. Drop Beth sent that to us. You were talking about being a soccer coach and hearing all the fans yelling. Yeah, it sounds exactly like Greg Williams from Hardknock. and Greg Williams is with two G's. He is the former NFL defensive coordinator who was suspended during
Starting point is 02:13:53 Bounty Gate. He authored the line, kill the head and the body will die. I saw him replying to a tweet the other day. And I'm like, there's no way this is the real Greg Williams. And I went to the Twitter profile and it's just old manny and like it's not it's definitely him hit him with a follow and woke up the next day had a follow back so i will be looking to get gregg with two gs somewhere into the stream or something this year dude got to do it this just happened this morning so what a what a fun rush that is very exciting
Starting point is 02:14:35 dopamine it's probably hawkeye but for now we're excited that we have gregg williams congressperson jasmine Crockett is facing sanctions. Backlash. You were very close. Backlash is right there with sanctions and only in journalism and politics. Do you know what she did? Well, she's in the news because Chris Brown was in town the other night.
Starting point is 02:14:58 Now, what do you know about Chris Brown, Dan, other than he used to write smartfootball.com and wrote a phenomenal oral history on the history of the spreadoff. I think you're talking about some kind of a rapper or some kind of music person that was not good to ladies. in some way, right?
Starting point is 02:15:13 In 2009, he beat up Rihanna, at least that's the time that we know about. He is a full-on offender. You've got 20 years of assaults. In 2013, beat up a guy outside of a D.C. hotel was ordered into rehab, but later dismissed from the facility for violating its rules. Arrested in 2019 in Paris, suspicion of rape. I don't know. Bad, bad guy.
Starting point is 02:15:39 Well, Jasmine Crockett decided to not only appear with Chris Brown at his concert in Arlington, but give him a congressional award recognizing the singer and putting it into the congressional record. She came up on stage and said, right now we are experiencing black joy to the highest level, and I want to make sure that we document that in the congressional record. So let's give it up again for Chris Brown. This reminds me of, um, didn't we have something like this here?
Starting point is 02:16:14 Oh, uh, Michael Vic got the key to the city after the dog thing. Yeah. The key to the city of Dallas. Equally confusing. Chris Brown and Mike Vic have nothing to do with the city of Dallas, the state of Texas,
Starting point is 02:16:29 at all. But this is all, Congress is all bullshit. The whole, yeah. Just when they're like, oh, but we're going to,
Starting point is 02:16:36 we need to, uh, we're declaring that it's Indians. Cleveland Indians Day or it's That Jeff Leach guy did Tony Romo Day. Yeah, like, what do Why? Why? Don't What is, I thought you make
Starting point is 02:16:49 laws. I watched the schoolhouse rock growing up and they told me about bills and laws and not all this stuff. It doesn't matter. Jasmine Brockett is not doing shit to make laws, my friend. What's funny is that there's another state rep
Starting point is 02:17:05 Vinton Jones. He was there with her. He's also a black guy. She's not a black guy, but he is. And he took the same amount of heat and apologized. He's like, look, I'm hearing from a lot of people. I want to acknowledge these women, the black women who my actions have hurt. Moments like these, I think it's important to be specific and just as loud with an apology as our original actions are. He's like, look, I didn't know this was going to go like this.
Starting point is 02:17:30 Now, you could criticize that. Or you could criticize Jasmine Crockett, depending on your take here, for being like, no. Actually, I think this is awesome. fuck you and your apology. I cannot stand her. No? I've just seen her. But if I say anything mean about her
Starting point is 02:17:48 or say that she's a self-obsessed person who's bad for the government, I'm a racist. You are a racist. It turns out I'm not a racist. I just hate women. Ah, okay. Pig.
Starting point is 02:18:03 Let's see if we can put out an all points bulletin. Go! Go! Is it every... Go! I found it. Inestitestit. Oh, that's it.
Starting point is 02:18:10 Pisses me all. Yeah. Go. Okay. What are we doing? What is it? We're not working about KJ. Come on.
Starting point is 02:18:17 Knock it back. It pisses me off. Go. Go. Go. Go. Go. That's the same drop, dude.
Starting point is 02:18:28 That's amazing. I think I might have some Greg Williams in me. Oh, there's no doubt. What was a breakdown? I'm going to try that one day. F, F, you, F you, HOD. The breakdown was, all right. D get in here tight.
Starting point is 02:18:44 Let's do this. Break it down. Come get some, bitch. And they all clap. He's expecting you to have your nuts right there. Put your testicles in the C gap. See if you can find come get some. And I'll go to the next story.
Starting point is 02:19:01 This is an accepted not paying attention. All Points Bulletin put out for all radio engineers. Yeah? Yes. As Willow bin Ball suffered a break in overnight. the owner of a cutlery store says over $50,000 in swords and knights helmets were stolen from Willow Blitz. Yeah, bro. Big industry.
Starting point is 02:19:25 Like that guy, like the dude Nick brought us an old Soviet helmet to the ballpark that day. Like sword guy, he doesn't just stop at the blade. He wants the whole thing. Oh yeah, there's a whole battle league for full knights in armament. Well, around 1 a.m., Dan. swords, collectible knives, helmets, and more items were stolen from the store. Around 1 a.m., like I said, cut through a security chain. Dude, imagine the rush of breaking into the mall.
Starting point is 02:20:00 Like breaking into a store. But I remember one time, it's funny, we had KT on today. KT and I went to go see one of the new Jurassic parks one time at North Park at like 1 a.m. You ever been in a mall when it's closed? It's super fun. It's weird. It's kind of like being... Like everything was...
Starting point is 02:20:23 Except the movie. Yes. And it's lit. It's lit up. You know? So you're in the mall. It's very weird. And I would just imagine being in the mall for a burglary or a robbery at 1 a.m.
Starting point is 02:20:36 exhilarating. Yeah. Hunting knives. There's a... There's a set of armor located at the front of the store that the guy calls Rusty. and they just took the helmet off that. Oh, they call the... I see.
Starting point is 02:20:55 The mannequin or whatever. He has a name for the mannequin. Can you impose your will? Can you push yourself? Can you do this? Down! One. Down two.
Starting point is 02:21:09 Down four. Down five. Down six. Down seven. I'm sorry. I thought that was it. I don't mind at all. Keep shooting.
Starting point is 02:21:19 this will make the guy who says that this is the greatest piece of television ever very happy the Browns season of Hard Knocks? It's so much, dude. Baker, right? Baker, Brogan.
Starting point is 02:21:35 What could do what was? We think they were stretching before Normandy? Oh, yeah. That guy, Hugh Jackson. The big fat belly. Hey, what do they name the baby Carl? Who's naming a baby Carl? Todd Haley's there?
Starting point is 02:21:46 Dude, it's like 80s, like, early 90s S&L. All right, next pandemic. We're doing it. Next pandemic. And the Buck Show. We'll do both. We got a hazing situation.
Starting point is 02:21:58 Speaking of Greg with, or doesn't be Greg with 1G Williams, four Boyd High School students. Ooh. Facing felony charges, Dan. Following a hazing investigation into alleged incident in the school's field house. This happened two weeks ago. So football season. And what was the hazing?
Starting point is 02:22:21 We don't know. Oh. But we do know that two students have been charged as adults with unlawful restraint and injury to a child. As most hazing incidents do usually involve someone being tied up. Maybe tied to a shower pole or a goalpost. Maybe duct tape to your first class seat. Because this guy won't shut up about Israel. Yeah.
Starting point is 02:22:45 I would imagine that there are rampant rumors and stories about this on Facebook. But the official news story just has a couple of mugshots. That's what sucks about being in high school, among many things, is you get in trouble. So me and my buddy are both, he's 18, I'm 17, but we get in trouble and you got his name in mugshot the news, but not me. because I'm a minor. Yeah, that'd be great. So that's why you were happy to always be the youngest in class. Sure.
Starting point is 02:23:24 I forgot. I'm going to have to bring it up during the news. I was going to bring it up in viewer mail. But you had a story yesterday, or I think I brought it up because I was looking at our crime app. It's funny that a Good Samaritan or a citizen wanted to, they called 911, but then they were following the vehicle. Right. until the cops got there.
Starting point is 02:23:44 Very chappy. Travis from Community Mechanical thought it was him. Because he called, but it was like at midnight that he called. My thing was in the morning. So two people in that same area. He said he thinks this was him. There was a guy driving drunk at midnight on 114. He almost hit me around Whitechapel.
Starting point is 02:24:06 So I called it in. I was following him because it was on my way home. And he exited on Dove and they had a cop sitting waiting for him. for him just past Dove. Wow. So, but he wanted to follow him because the guy was weaving and. I actually, I know that I, that's not a bad, uh, I don't think that's narkey at all. I know everybody got mad at me when I called when the guy was asleep in my yard.
Starting point is 02:24:26 And I do kind of feel bad about that. But, uh, the freeway, dude. I think you're, you're good to go there. Uh, I think I found the Greg Williams thing. Let's see if this will play. And I want to reiterate that if it's not it, I don't care. These are all doing. Should we start making, uh, little, uh, little,
Starting point is 02:24:44 wagers on run pass. You mother. This is what they should do for hazing. That was cool. This is why he turned to you. I'm kidding. It appears that four Boyd High School students taped down one of their teammates and made them listen to Dude Perfect call a cowboy game on Amazon for hours on.
Starting point is 02:25:09 Stop taking a fucking nap during the day. Priorities in this ball game. the run. Stop the run. Stop the fucking run. What if Eli says, fuck you, fuck you,
Starting point is 02:25:23 fuck you, and goes. And we're in the middle of talking. Now that's a guy that communicates. Right? I mean, I guess.
Starting point is 02:25:36 You know, he's not. Communicates you right to Owen 16. Right. I was going to say, he's known for like cover zero blitzes that end games. And then drop-back. for the win.
Starting point is 02:25:45 Ready break! Come to you some, bitch. Yes. That is among the best breakdowns I've ever heard. It's not who expect we expect, which we used to play at the end of, at the end of opens. He'll walk out of the show.
Starting point is 02:26:10 He has nowhere to go. I have nowhere to go. And since I have nowhere to go, I'm going to make y'all listen to this whole thing. You know, I'm a, I was this is what I live for is this slap dick which he would say you need to go out there now can bury these dudes it doesn't start good what is this this is a last chance you this is them coming out of the tunnel and I think this is the greatest breakdown I've ever heard in my life
Starting point is 02:26:36 this is the thing that Beth just sent us no I got this one oh this is a great Williams has come get some bitch dude I get you know at the end of every position at the end of every period like you're doing some sort of breakdown you do this and in soccer, right? We'll bring her hands and do koalas. You're doing this every time. This one, this takes a second. I'm going to say something.
Starting point is 02:26:55 You're going to say, we expect. And then I'm just going to go down the line. So every time I'm done, you're going to say, who expects again? So I'm going to say, who expects? You guys are going to, I mean, you're going to say who expects. I'm going to say something. And then you're going to say, we expect. And then you're going to start over again, who expects?
Starting point is 02:27:10 You got it? All right. Communication very poor. All three, fellas, you got it. One, two, three. Who's it. To dominate the line of f***. They don't know it.
Starting point is 02:27:23 To put 11 head to shut these motherfuck They're doing it wrong. They get it though. That's it. Now they know. You got to double up. Hold on you. One, two, three.
Starting point is 02:27:46 We dominate the line of scrimmonate. They're still doing it wrong. It's supposed to end with we expect. Why would you do who expects last? They're doing who expect we expect. No, they're not. They're saying it's the opposite. No. They're saying who last.
Starting point is 02:28:09 To who dominates the line of scrimmage, we expect. Now, then they start the next one. Who expects? We expect. Oh, all right. I think I'll take Greg Williams. Murder suicide in Collieville. You, fuck you. Wait, Collieville, murder what?
Starting point is 02:28:31 Murder suicide. Murder suicide. I'm not really sure. It's not why our will, is it? He's a Collieville friend. Yeah, it doesn't say, it doesn't say the house burned. down. So. That's how he'll kill himself.
Starting point is 02:28:50 This one's wild, man, because it's 36-year-old and a 35-year-old. Oh, yeah, you would usually... Much older. In the 80s. Yeah. Was it a man killed his wife and then... That's what it looks like. Man appears to have suffered a fatal, self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Starting point is 02:29:07 Also, very white names. A lot of times he's... In Calib? I do these stories often. Yeah, but a lot of times when you have, like, honor killings or family killings, it leans. Oh. Less.
Starting point is 02:29:21 Shogun. South Lake City Council voted unanimously to deny a permit for a pride festival scheduled next month. This was to be held as it was last year at St. Martin in the Fields Episcopal Church. Oh, so they did it last year. Did it last year. I don't remember.
Starting point is 02:29:48 2,500 people. I don't remember any waves or anybody being upset. So they had a city council meeting this year. An associate pastor from the church spoke. Do we have a new council? Is that what's going on? I don't know. But an associate pastor and founder of the festival spoke at the church,
Starting point is 02:30:09 or spoke at the council meeting, said we open our doors of the church to all types of people from soccer teams to Alcoholics Anonymous to this festival. and then they had a citizen speak at the meeting who said, we don't like this. And then they voted 7-0 to deny it. But no, I think you probably are just forgetting that last year they burned the church down. They turned everyone there.
Starting point is 02:30:39 They were just sucking dicks out front. The whole, they turned a bunch of kids gay. What's that sound? What's that sound effect? Okay, that's how it sounds when you do it? Well, no, when they do it. Oh. Because there's so much more intimate.
Starting point is 02:30:53 it. Oh, all right. Being so gay. No, you're always reluctant. Which I, you know what? I prefer that tab. We're getting out of here. I like the reluctant tab.
Starting point is 02:31:05 The dumb zone. I have a buddy. Go. Go. That you know well. Let's do it, boy. Who once told us that that's legitimately among his search terms.
Starting point is 02:31:21 Reluctant? He said he would do, the two that he would do were reluctant and teach. teaches then you now you got a tag a duo right I mean it could go
Starting point is 02:31:37 so many directions but the instruction is the key it's in there if mother's mother's not just teaching anybody what about mother teaches reluctant now really

Dear Uncle Hogzilla handler, I want to send a shout out to fellow DZ disciple. It is Matt's Jackie Robinson birthday. His leaders are Dan's handlebar mustache, Dutch Pentameter,
Starting point is 02:33:54 and Grimps. Oh, RIP. And Grandpa's cure-all pet meds. Dog wouldn't suffer anymore. Can we get some Blake drops? That is from Brandon. Back. Blake drops.

Starting point is 02:34:21 He's got a banana behind him. She was on Dr. Phil? Can't read? Free Nobu. How is Beth doing? Star Trek. like those. Those are exciting.
Starting point is 02:34:35 Do you have a game on the weekend? Do you play two in a week or do you always play during the week? Kid game. Yeah, we have one Saturday. Do you practice too? You have two games every week. No, this was, I don't know why this week we played Tuesday. But yeah, practice Monday, game Saturday.
Starting point is 02:34:52 Okay. It's like the NFL. We've got a freaking streak to keep going. Hey, we're one in a. No, no. We've got a cap. We got a goal. Dear Dan, with all that is happening with the Dumb Zone schedule,
Starting point is 02:35:07 I think Thursday the 17th is our best day for a birthday shoutout to Daniel Fleming. Hey. His Kurt Schilling birthday is Saturday. So I think he will wear a bloody sock on that day. I will not speculate on how he wakes up on that day. His leaders are Bart Yasso, the mayor of running, and the Tarahumara with their
Starting point is 02:35:36 waraches on their feet and Pinolay in their guts. Dude, is that why we call the shoe the horatjas? I didn't know that. He really does like Jake and admires his running adventures. Shut it. Maybe someday they could run together. Whatever. Run backwards.
Starting point is 02:35:53 Thanks and keep adding those subbies from Tom Fleming. So is Tom the Marathon? the T.C.'s dad? Yeah. And they just bust your balls about how you suck at running? The younger one more than the older one, but it's really...
Starting point is 02:36:09 So Daniel? He's the... Yeah, and I don't so much mind it... He's in your crosshairs? From the two of them, it's that their hefty family member does stolen valor and shits on me about my times while he's got one foot in the diabetes grave.
Starting point is 02:36:29 They're the ones running the miles. But I didn't know that. That's, uh, Haracha's a Nike shoe. But I guess we named him after the, the tomaras, terramaras. You ever read, like, watch a documentary about those people? I can fucking run forever.
Starting point is 02:36:44 No. Those people. Because they don't run on the balls of their feet. Hmm. They run on the balls of their balls. That's right. Like elephant Titus man. Or Randy, when he
Starting point is 02:36:57 microwaved his scrotum. Hey, Dan, wishing my boy Grayson five today a happy birthday. Grateful for this community with sponsors like Community Mechanical. The FOD has been a great community. Thanks, fam. Love you long time. Also, I think you say community weird. Sorry Not Sorry from Eliseo, FOD for life.
Starting point is 02:37:26 No chance, Dan. Let's see, what else we got? Please wish a Dennis Eckersley birthday to Tara Howie. She is my trusty sidekick that helps people get life insurance in place after making sure they get that annual DZ sub. Priorities. She is so successful, she even has a place in Oklahoma and a dirt contractor. Her leaders are John Mayer, The Grateful Dead, and making sure she and her husband don't ever have kids to get in their way of having fun. That's from Sean.
Starting point is 02:38:00 I have two more, Dear Uncle Hotmail, the Hot Mail. Tomorrow is my Nolan Ryan birthday. A quick anecdote to celebrate. Okay. I was a Norm intern. My favorite memory was coming in the day after Mike and Cash had Rachel Starr on while they were filling in for Norm. Norm sat in silence looking visibly upset while eating his breakfast spaghetti. And finally asked me, is it true that they had a porn star on the show yesterday?
Starting point is 02:38:31 I told him yes. He gave a disappointed sigh and sincerity smacked, ah, well, and then got back to work printing minor league baseball rosters. That's awesome. It's just like on TV.
Starting point is 02:38:47 My leaders are George's crispy high hat in the new theme song and the Iwo Jima monument except it's Jake and the rest of the Richland High special teams unit. Day one number 21 from the Northwest Denton Beehive chapter, Stephen with a V. What an email.
Starting point is 02:39:11 It's a great email. I accept it. Email of the week? Yeah. Guy that loves Blake. I was only on hand, Steve. And dear Daniel, I'd like to wish Sean Harbin a happy Dirk birthday. I don't know how he was woken up because that would be gay.
Starting point is 02:39:28 Last year he had the sit-in when the guy parked his F-150 in your garage. That was awesome. The intern. His leaders are the kids who cut the brake line on the girl's car. Let's check in on them. Weren't they tried for murder? Yeah. And the Brown's coach from Hard Knocks.
Starting point is 02:39:48 That's from Tommy A. A. Hey. Game Day Men's Health presents. on this day in history. Game day.day.dumzone.com. Game day is the place. We had some guys in yesterday from Game Day,
Starting point is 02:40:10 and they were confirming. You can go to any of the 12 area locations and sign up to go to a cowboy stream high atop my garage in the den. You'll get beer. You'll get Conneroso pizza. You'll get... So you get all rocked off.
Starting point is 02:40:29 Probable forvality, right? Not just potential. I think it's in the 90 percentile that you're going to have a good time. And we learned yesterday you can get 10% off TRT for your wife. If you're a pastor and you are just excited about having sex with your wife and you love her a lot. She doesn't want to do it four times a day like you two. You want her to have double teams with homeless guys. She's not feeling it.
Starting point is 02:40:57 You know? Uh-huh. T-R-T. That's what that guy did. But maybe you just want to spice up the bedroom. You want their number ham? No, I was interested when Dan said, can you just sprinkle it on her food?
Starting point is 02:41:13 Yeah, get some TRT and save your marriage by surreptitiously sex poisoning your wife. Get some TRT so you can get some T-I-T, you know what I mean? Hell yeah, brother. She plays a place where it was a lot. intended to play. It's like spells a word. It's like boob and guys like that.
Starting point is 02:41:32 Guys are really into it. Yeah. Gameday.dumzone.com. Game Day men's health. Yeah. Game day. Keeping me alive. No one's joining me.
Starting point is 02:41:43 It's hard to do game day chant by yourself. It's like when I tried to start the wave. It's very embarrassing. You're at a funeral. To not get the wave going. I know, but it would have looked so cool. Call game day if you need a. Boner today. Right now. Hit pound for boner.
Starting point is 02:42:05 So today is Thursday, September 17th. We did our Friday show yesterday, so in essence, today is our Friday. On this day in the year 1900, the Cincinnati Reds, their third base coach, found a wire that led across the field to the Phillies locker room where their backup catcher was reading the opposing catcher's signs and relaying them to the Phillies coach by a buzzer hidden in the dirt. A wire? In 1900.
Starting point is 02:42:41 There was a buzzer. Telegramming. Yeah. Pitches. Did they think no one would find it? They found the wire. And that's where the saying telegraphed that pitch came from. There you go.
Starting point is 02:42:55 That's crazy. No, I have no idea. I was like, you guys have neighbors that stole cable? We always had cable, but we didn't, we didn't, we had like the co-ax. I stole the cable from. Yeah. There was just a, the box was in our yard. And, yeah, if you just took the thing off, you could, now I could only get.
Starting point is 02:43:14 You get like eight channels. The stations, yeah, on the regular channels on the TV. That had the number, yeah. Not the UHF channels. So, yeah, the first nine or eight channels. It was great. We got Cinemax with our free cable. Hell yeah.
Starting point is 02:43:26 And that was enlightening. I'll bet. young Blake. Oh, speaking of that. Gosh, darn it. I forgot everything today. This is more set for you, but it was a viewer mail. Okay.
Starting point is 02:43:40 Somehow. The guy calls it a bad beep, but I don't think it is. Okay, I was about to say, somehow Cinemax. Right. That trip. Just look at what he sent. You don't have to read the hard. Okay, yeah, it's just, we got a Bud Dwyer envelope.
Starting point is 02:43:51 It's always nice. Bud Dwyer on a hand. Manila. Oh, wow. This is, yeah? This is a Girls Gone Wild DVD. the real uncensored girls gone wild. Come party with the hottest girls in the world.
Starting point is 02:44:04 And bro, your wife's out of town? Oh, yeah. Let's go to town with that guy. This is so disgusting. Like you're holding a felony. We should review it. Look at the bottom where it says, look at those. Like, it's just a chick with like her boobs covered by the word look.
Starting point is 02:44:20 Let's all go for Jake's tonight and review it. Don't the surround sound on? Yeah, he said it was a bad beat like he found it. but I'm I don't think the word bad should be in there. I've had worst beats this week. Oh, also, yeah, thanks, Jason. I'm not going to read your full name and who you are. You know who he is?
Starting point is 02:44:45 Yeah, he works in a job. All right, yep. Don't put your, don't put it on there. Well, we know his name is Jason, so is it the Seahorn? Whitten. Whitten? Whitton. Kill her hair.
Starting point is 02:45:04 On this day in 1983, Vanessa Williams became the first black contestant to be crowned Miss America. She would later have to resign because she had a nude photo put out in Penthouse magazine. Wasn't Danny the first person in South Texas or whatever to see it? He's claimed that. He stole it off the magazine rack at his grocery store. So that was 1983, the first black contest. to be Miss America. 1994, Heather Whitestone of Alabama.
Starting point is 02:45:36 First, deaf, Miss America. How'd they tell her? Woke, that's what I say. I like my... She had anal beats that they buzzed. I like the chess. Yeah, she knew... She knew Morse code.
Starting point is 02:45:59 She's confused because she's like, wait, for a second. and I thought it was getting 1901 pitching calls. This is the day in 1993 that Nolan Ryan, in his next to last Major League appearance, will get his final strikeout ever. Greg Myers was his 500, 5,714th and final strikeout. You weren't in here when the Norm name game was playing.
Starting point is 02:46:23 The guy he's doing the broadcast with, Norm just crushes it. And then he stops for a second for a pitch. And the guy goes, is that it? It's like, dude, this is a masterpiece at work here. Don't is that it me? No.
Starting point is 02:46:39 And no, there's more. This is the day that it was announced that Master P signed an NBA contract with the Toronto Raptors. He played in Summer League and averaged 24.6 rebounds and 8 assists. That's pretty good. Yeah, no, he's really good. Yeah. And he's the GM for a college basketball team. Is he now?
Starting point is 02:47:02 Like New Orleans or somebody. Yeah. Are they better than Woage's team? Yeah, I think they're actually pretty good. Because I think Woage has sucked at his job. Massapie left this role in March of 26th at University of New Orleans. But you may also remember him as the guy who negotiated the worst contract in the history of a first round pick when he got Ricky Williams in all incentives-based contract. Hey, I believe in myself.
Starting point is 02:47:32 I'm just going to... Yeah. Yeah. They had traded crypto. So it's a yay boo for New Orleans. What if we trade all of our draft picks this one year for one player? That's kind of a boo, right? But then they got a good deal on the contract.
Starting point is 02:47:50 Great deal. Yeah. So today is September 17th, this day in Dumb Zone history. In 2024, we have a Dan fights with his wife that I don't remember. It just says drop foot Dropfoot. I'm going to have to go back and listen. I don't know why you guys were fighting about drop foot.
Starting point is 02:48:16 Okay, go ahead. In 2021, Notre Dame doesn't let Purdue bring in their big drum. God. That is a big ass drum, man. This is no... They don't let them bring it in? There's no fight like fighting over where the band's going to be and where they can sit.
Starting point is 02:48:32 CBC loves that. But he's just doing the best version of, They all stick with these guys. Did you carve out a corner for Uggah? It was the first game since 1979. They didn't have it. Beefy. And Notre Dame was like, you know, we don't really have room.
Starting point is 02:48:47 Sorry. We had Jim Shoots on the show, I think, for the first time in 2021 on this day. Legend. And this says Blake's nipple ring got ripped out before sex. Which means you still had sex after it got ripped out. kind of a better sweet memory for Jake. We rallied, Clayton. And then I had something on the calendar for tomorrow
Starting point is 02:49:16 that I was supposed to play, but since today is our Friday, I'm going to play it today. Dan wanted to listen to a segment. And let's see. And maybe next year we can listen to this segment. Okay, so I marked it. So we're going to listen to it. We were laughing at the direct
Starting point is 02:49:40 TV stream ad. You know it's not tough. Yeah. Not tough at all. And so that we were listening to the Brunigs, we were listening to the Brunigs listening to our show. And so now we're going to listen to our show, listening to the Brunigs listen to our show. Okay.
Starting point is 02:49:58 So repeat down. Repeat down. You're going to eat that sush. You can have one. I'm going to eat the other one. Blake, you mother. Dude, what are we doing? What are we doing? Soosh.
Starting point is 02:50:12 That's why Dude Perfect's the best. It's going to be emotional day for a lot of us. I mean, the fact that you see kids, 20-something now, never even knew their family members. You know, it's tough. But let me tell you something that's not tough. Okay. Not tough at all.
Starting point is 02:50:34 And I'm talking about direct TV. So he used the devastation of 9-11. There's a segue into the direct TV streaming deal. It's super easy. It makes it so, yeah, you thought it was difficult to it? A lot easier than having a plane hit. Now, wait, Blake, what are you saying? Last year, we, that is us last year?
Starting point is 02:50:58 Yeah. Talking and having listened to it. Yeah, so I thought on this day every year, we just listen to last years and last years and last years. It's fine with me. Okay. I mean, you asked for it. It's not also, I'm humbled by this since. So this is 2026.
Starting point is 02:51:14 It's September 17th, and this makes me think of September 11th. No, but today is 2026. Oh, yeah. We're saying this now. So next year when somebody hears this. Yeah. Yeah. We're going to listen to it again.
Starting point is 02:51:25 Easier than having a plane hit a tower that you work in or where you live. That's super difficult. Bundling and saving. Being 20 years old and not even knowing any of your family members because they all died on 9-11. Tough path. But with AT&T and direct TV. With direct TV stream, you don't have to have the box next to the cable wire. You just stream it.
Starting point is 02:51:48 It's not tough at all. Tough at all. And I'm talking about direct TV stream. What? What? What? Does it sound familiar? You got one device.
Starting point is 02:52:00 You know what that's the screen favorite. Jeez. You sound like fake norm. It does. That feels like you looted. Didn't touch it. I wouldn't pull this level of obscurity if it wasn't that high-calibur shit. What happened there?
Starting point is 02:52:34 That's so good. You know what I didn't notice is the guy starts to read with, does this sound familiar? That's such a low-energy way to read to, you're looking out your window and a plane comes in. Just a agreed. So now we've listened to us, listening to them, listening to us. Does that sound familiar?
Starting point is 02:52:57 And maybe next year we can listen to this segment. Wow. I can make that happen. He really is your little minion. I did. Just listening to us. Listen to them. By the way, I just want to dedicate today's show to Holly Rose mom that passed away yesterday.
Starting point is 02:53:18 No way. She posted that they buried her beautiful mother Yesterday I'd like to dedicate the show to these guys You guys Megan the Stalian fans I'd like to dedicate the show to Ladies Be Tripping Oh my god, is this a video Dude, this can't be real
Starting point is 02:53:40 This is a video of Sark turning over the casket This is crazy I think it could be real He's pretty mad at her Come on So if wait If she is being buried today, she might have died that day. I think she died when she saw the video of Holly getting rocketed into the...
Starting point is 02:53:59 No, she died when she saw Arch laugh at it. Like what? You would laugh at that? She died before Ever Grant defended her daughter's honor. I would have kept her here. Other birthdays today we have Patrick Mahomes is 31. Good friend of Jake. I think he would recognize me.
Starting point is 02:54:20 Well, he knew you pre-rehab. Yeah. He did. Yeah, you're like, hey, give me another shot. I won't fall down this time. No one will remember any of this. Anything we've done. But at some point, I will show my kid of video of me playing catch multiple times with the greatest quarterback of all time.
Starting point is 02:54:43 And they'll think, well, I guess he got something right. Marcus Semyon is 36. He has a 49.9 war. Not the winner of today, though. I haven't kept track of him, but I have kept track of Brandon Nemo. We've tailed off quite a bit. Simeon has hit 220 this year. Negative 0.4 war.
Starting point is 02:55:13 Nemo ain't there, I'll tell you that. Yeah, but it's also getting Simeon out of the locker room with Seeger, right? That's allowed Seeger and the rest of the offense to perform at the highest level that they can. They've gotten you a lot of half-off pizza this year. Tim Cedar is 52. that is a former cowboy kicker. Yeah. He was like a school teacher at the time, and they found him.
Starting point is 02:55:36 Phil Jackson, 81. And the commissioner had a gun. Alex Ovechkin is 41. Today's war games winner is Jose Ramirez. He's 34. The Indians third baseman. 59.8 war. Rashid Wallace, 52.
Starting point is 02:56:01 Clayton Jim Cornett is 64. Manager, Midnight Express. They list him now as successful wrestling podcaster. Did you know that? Nowadays he is, yeah, but he has a long history. Kyle Chandler, actor is 61. He's from Friday Night Lights. Jake, Rita Rudner is 73.
Starting point is 02:56:35 How she looked at. You probably seen her at one of the open mics. Yep, just the other night. other comedian Bobby Lee is 55 Bobby Lee's 55 It don't crack Damn yeah Asian people I mean they're the ones who've got it locked
Starting point is 02:56:53 There's just not a funny rhyme for it It's because they don't eat cheese Truly Really? Really? Yeah I exclaim that I think that's a big part of it Kevin Clash is 66
Starting point is 02:57:08 That was the voice rhyme, but I don't really want to say it. No, come on. It's going to be respectful to them. Oh, okay. If it's yellow, it tends to mellow. I don't think there's anything wrong with that. But it doesn't really, like the crack thing,
Starting point is 02:57:29 what tends to mellow your face? Does that make sense, though? It doesn't rhyme, but it... Yeah. Does it illustrate what you're trying to illustrate their heart attack? man. It could be better. Well, I mean, we're just workshopping here.
Starting point is 02:57:48 I didn't think any idea it was a bad one, but I guess I don't have we don't have that kind of trust. Kevin Clash is the former voice of Elmo. Oh, yeah, okay, so he's a pedophile. I sure is. There was some stuff. There were some things.
Starting point is 02:58:06 Tickle me. Robert Herchavec. Hey, do you know What the hell I do for a living? He's Shark Tank. Who's calling you? Who's calling me? It's 238.
Starting point is 02:58:22 We're still going. It's Julie. What are we doing? Does she know what a... We'll call you back, okay? What are you doing? How about if you're Asian, agent, you'll be evasion. I don't know.
Starting point is 02:58:43 I want to work evasion in here. Evasion Asian. I'll be back on Monday. Give me 70. It's going to be in the lab. Scott Hoying. Scott Hoying is 35. He's from a band called Pentatonics.
Starting point is 02:59:12 Do you know what that is? I think it's like a local, it's like an Arlington. Very good. Acapella. Yeah. Like they're huge. They are. I have not seen.
Starting point is 02:59:23 them, but I would be interested in that. They will ruin your Christmas. He went to Martin. Why would that ruin your Christmas? Like the Brunigs. It's just everywhere. Penitonics? And, oh, two more.
Starting point is 02:59:38 Cassandra Peterson is 75. Elvira. Dude. Let me tell you something. I don't know why they were running that movie on Comedy Central as a kid. Not really a comedy. but I was furiously masturbating to it.
Starting point is 02:59:56 She was like the movie host. No, they made a movie. Oh, they made a movie about a movie? But she used to host like the... Yeah, yeah, the... Yes. But Alvira, Mistress of the Dark, it looks like it was called.
Starting point is 03:00:09 I used to really enjoy that. Why do we have to add that adjective to, though? The Dark? No. Furiously. Furiously. Like, you just... I got it.
Starting point is 03:00:20 I get it. No, I don't think you do. Oh, because... There was Paula Poundstone, maybe Margaret Cho. Those are mid-effort. Okay. Then there's Elvira. And I was chasing that goth high for a freaking many years.
Starting point is 03:00:37 Your heart was on Fira. I'm sorry. I laughed at that. I'm sorry. I want to apologize. Our dumbs on birthday of the day will be Sam S-Mail. He's 49. Only 49.
Starting point is 03:00:51 Mr. Robot. Mr. Robot. He made up Mr. Rovarez. robot. Mr. Roebit. Born on the Day Night Ed, Roddy McDowell, he played Cornelius in Planning the Apes. George Blanda.
Starting point is 03:01:07 Roddy McDowell related to my dad, but not my dad. Well, he might have been. I guess I don't really know my dad, which really might answer a lot. Anyway, George Blanda, he was a kicker-slash-quarterback, but more thought of as a kicker. and maybe it was because in 1961 he was the best kicker in the game he led the NFL in field goal percentage 1961
Starting point is 03:01:36 55.2% unbelievable what was this long 38 also born on this day now dead Howie Schwab Bob from Stump the Schwab I'm going to read you the funniest stat line
Starting point is 03:01:55 you'll ever hear. In 1962, George Blanda's Houston team in the AFL went 11 and 3. He had 14 starts at quarterback. He threw the ball 418 times. He threw 27 touchdowns and 42 interceptions. He was second
Starting point is 03:02:15 team all pro. He threw an interception on 10% of his passes. 42 picks in 14 games. How many? yards passing? 2,800?
Starting point is 03:02:28 Not bad. I mean, he's stowing for 2. Well, it's not great. 200 yards a game. 200 yards a game pick on every 10 throws. It's insane. What is that? 2, 3 interceptions a game?
Starting point is 03:02:42 Yeah, he's giving it back quite a bit. And they went 11 and 3. But they went 11 and 3. You might get 10 points out of that. Football was very weird back then, man. I want to see some of them. You mean awesome? Yeah.
Starting point is 03:02:56 I would like to see it. Dead on the Stay Still Dead I have Laura Ashley That's the fashion designer She died falling down the stairs of her daughter's home Oh You don't want to do that Find you
Starting point is 03:03:12 And the daughter Oh Yeah maybe she's kind of still alive Mm-mm Give her a chick Six interceptions in a game twice Why not? Oh and he does the like straight back
Starting point is 03:03:28 Dropback to fall over on himself every time. And he's just yolo ball in it. This is awesome. Some of those, you know, some of those interceptions were as good as a pun. He's definitely what. I'm back here already. Throw this thing
Starting point is 03:03:47 as far as I can. Also dead on this day, we have Milo Hamilton, the Astros play-by-play man in 2015. And died on this day in 2001, Jake. Lou Dogg. It was a dog, like a Dalmatian. His name is Lou.
Starting point is 03:04:11 And he was the mascot for the band Sublime. Oh, wow. I forgot they had a dog. Is that in your bit? No. Your wheelhouse? No. I mean, I don't mind a little sublime, but that's not.
Starting point is 03:04:24 You're so humble. That's not my game. And that's what happened. I bet Matt Grimm probably had a pretty big. Sublime scene in his life. but not me. Hey, I got a hustle, or I'm going to be late for my other gig. No doubt.
Starting point is 03:04:39 Time and a half. See you. All right, brothers. All right. We'll see you. Uh, yeah, Franco and Frankel, personal injury attorneys, don't forget about them. 214 or 817, then dial all threes. They are awesome to deal with.
Starting point is 03:04:53 You will talk to a partner when you call them. Uh, if you think they could help you out. If you have a question about that, I wonder if this situation calls for it. We'll just call them. Uh, maybe, uh, It will. And mention the dumb zone. That'd be cool of you.
Starting point is 03:05:07 Maybe you have a lawyer, but a family friend doesn't. You hear about somebody else getting involved. That's what I do. I just go to parties and kind of poke my head in. I'm like, hey, the Frankles, they might be able to help you with this. Yeah, I hang out at the front of the emergency room sometimes and just say, hey, just in case. No. I mean, if you, seriously, they will help you out.
Starting point is 03:05:30 They used to work for the insurance companies that try to hold things back from you. So they know their tricks, they know how to attack them, and they know how to win for you. Franklfirm.com or 2.14-8-17, then dial all threes. So here is our pre-can check, because it is our Friday, three consecutive days in a row. We've just found out that one of us has no wife at home. And the girls gone wild DVD. And a girl's two kids, though, right? Yeah, for the most part.
Starting point is 03:06:01 Are we doing grandma one night? We'll be mixing in some grandma. A lot of grandma. I'm sure. The benefits to grandma. Like, I never had a grandma. And I'm really proud of your mom, too. Because either one of our grandmas, it was a very weird.
Starting point is 03:06:21 I don't know if you guys have this at all with either of your sets of parents. Like, it would, it was, I don't know how they ever raised kids. Because, like, if we left my. mother-in-law with my kids, she would go, like, I can't, like, what? I don't, like, she has no idea how to handle it. Or my mom. She has, but I think it might have been because when I was a kid, bingo. She also didn't know how to raise, she just, she was just doing her own thing.
Starting point is 03:06:56 Like, you'll get in the house somehow, you'll figure out how to find food, you'll watch TV as much as you want. Get on that bus to kindergarten. Yeah, yeah, you'll just, you'll be out there. It'll be fine. My mom's mom is awesome. and she helps out a ton. But my mom's mom had her when she was extremely young.
Starting point is 03:07:13 So that's the similarity, though. Yeah, my mom was like normal. Because my mom had me when she was 19. Yeah, her mom was younger than that. My mom was in her 20, whatever, normal time at that age. And my mom is like the type of person who, and this is, you know, she'll say I'm here to be a mom. Like, so she's very on board with helping with the kids. Like, you feel like you're doing something for her.
Starting point is 03:07:37 That's what I... Got what you want, right? That's the way... But your mom is like that. When she decorated our studio for Christmas, she thanked us. She thanked me for allowing her to let this creative outlet, you know, and I'm like, great.
Starting point is 03:07:57 Like, I thought it was a lot of work. Got a couple kid birthday parties, too. That helps a lot. That'll eat some innings on you, you know? So maybe you take the boy, maybe you don't. but one of them is spoken for it. And also, she's at the age now, you know, it's a little bit single tier, but she wants to go hang out to her friend's house.
Starting point is 03:08:16 Ah. Or have people over to our house. I was going to bring this up on Monday during weekend check and never did. Now, whatever, we're in overtime. I think, you know, Blake as a type has said before, like, when we would go to the bar and you'd have to pay for a drink that's like $18. And you're like, fuck, that's like three hours of my work. I think people don't.
Starting point is 03:08:36 Like we had a, she had a friend over last weekend and they played for like six hours. And this friend like loves our house and whatever. I have to think in my head, this is me, when I pay my mortgage and pay bills, this is what I'm getting. Because it's awesome to have your friends, your kids at your house with their friends, be like, I built this. But you don't look at the withdrawal from your account every month and think like, hey, this is actually pretty sweet. There's a, like, an item you buy, you're like, okay, I paid $100 for that. I don't think you stop and internalize when your kid is playing at your house with their friends, and it's awesome that it's like, I did this.
Starting point is 03:09:15 Like, you know, it's a lot of money to live in wherever you live, but you got to stop and think, like, this is awesome. I actually made this happen. And it's cool because she's at the age now where there's either kids over at our house or she's over there, and it's pretty sweet. dad's not cool anymore so be it now she's still at an age
Starting point is 03:09:37 though that they kind of respect you when you walk in right definitely we have not crossed the mocking Rubicon that you speak of we'll get there that's a very that's humbling man that's a uh you know
Starting point is 03:09:51 all your life they listen to you they kind of think that you know things and then once they get together with their friends and they're all about 10 or something certainly by the time they're like 12 Maybe they have the friends with older siblings. But I always said it was when you walk in the room and they got a bunch of kids in there, if they all kind of get attention and they're ready to listen and whatever you say is the law,
Starting point is 03:10:14 at some point, though, it changes to where when you walk through, they're all just giggling when you say something. And you're like, no, seriously, you have to get to bed and they're just like, and then you walk out and they hear real laughter. And you're just being mocked. and now your whole goal is to never be seen by them and tell your wife you're handling this situation. Like, because they actually, the wife, it's a different deal, a little bit.
Starting point is 03:10:41 But they know you suck. Yep. Once they, at this point, they're still under the illusion that you don't suck. But you do. And that's when I'll quit coaching, I think. Because right now they definitely still think I'm pretty cool. Well, that's when I had to get out of soccer coaching because I was exposed as a fraud once we were losing.
Starting point is 03:10:59 games 12-0. My day will come. Yeah, you got to get into a sport that you kind of know something about, and that still doesn't guarantee anything. I've got a trifecta this weekend. So I'm doing Argyll and Highland Park tomorrow, high school game. Saturday, I'm keeping talent stats for ESPN, Saturday at TCU for the great Ted Emrick, college game, and then Sunday.
Starting point is 03:11:26 What do you say talent stats? So there's an official stats or a guy that does stats for, like, graphics for the truck. I'm keeping stats for Ted. This is a follow-well move back in the day. That's cool. You get a little coin? I do. This week I was hired by ESPN.
Starting point is 03:11:42 You'll get a check from ESPN. Yeah. Whoa. I got a much bigger question for you. Uh-huh. How excited are you to meet Fuzzy Whitaker? Very. Fazzing around.
Starting point is 03:11:56 Oh, that's a Ted. play-by-play partner? Yeah. Like he's got a regular partner now? They were in Florida last week. Yeah, for the first time he's got a consistent partner each week. And this year it's Fossey Whitaker, former Longhorns running back. That's awesome.
Starting point is 03:12:09 That is cool. And then Sunday, Cowboys Commanders. So I got a high school Friday, college Saturday, pro Sunday. Got a trifect of this weekend. And I'll bet Waterberger has a new sandwich. So Clayton will be there and I'll hear about on Monday. Good times. Adios, mofo.
Starting point is 03:12:28 We got to go before this. to do. See you guys for drinks later. Thank you for watching my video. Subscribe and type for my name if you want to watch more of my video. Rooka. Rooka, Rooka, Rooka, Rooka, Rgo. We go, go, we go, we go, we go, we go, we go. We go. We go.
Starting point is 03:12:50 We go. We go. We go. We go. We go. We go. We go. We take like 10 minutes first to talk about.
Starting point is 03:13:02 Rock gone. Uh, but no, there's, you know, I... But it sounds like it's only the... Rukon. I went to go, went in to go look at a... Rukon. I don't know if you guys heard, but, uh... Rukon.

Starting point is 03:13:25 Rucon. Like, absolutely. Rokon... Uh, I'm sure that's... LaGone.
