kind of hit me that the stream thing works particularly well with a men's health place. I'm slow.
All right. I can't imagine having both kids solo all weekend without my little game day men's health

I'm Blake Jones.
I'm Fudy CK.
Intern Henry is over there with intern Henry Face.
And sitting next to him, the golden voice.
He's like that.
homeless guy and remember that guy?
I think his name was John Williams.
The golden voice.
He got voice work out of it.
In Cleveland, right?
The homeless guy, wherever Cleveland, since, anyway, it's Ted Emery.
Ted Williams.
Teddy ball, the real Teddy ball.
What's up, motherfuckers?
Whoa.
I got to channel my inner Henry.
He's right here.
It's crazy to feel the energy, isn't it?
Is Henry face the opposite of YouTube face?
Like they tell us to do YouTube face.
It'd be very expressive so they know exactly what your face is telling you.
Do they tell you to do that?
But Henry Face is just kind of, it's just there.
Dude, he's grinding over here.
He is head down in the laptop, got the stream up, chat going.
He's ready to go.
Is Ted Williams in Cleveland, the homeless guy?
Ted Williams, yeah.
Not the homeless guy that had them draft Johnny football.
Correct.
You have multiple sports.
Sports-related famous homeless guys?
It kind of checks out.
We might need a new Cleveland video.
I think I always thought these were the same guy.
They should, like, do a show.
Yeah, they should.
Maybe get the...
The overnight show.
Get Charles Ramsey to be their yuck guy.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Good job stopping yourself there.
Thank you.
Jake, it's been a while.
I do have a question for you.
What is the question?
How are the treatments going?
I mean, since I've last seen you,
you've thrown out the first pitch at a Rangers game.
You got to open for Akash.
You're making new friends at Cowboys training camp.
I mean, it's the ultimate make-a-wish run.
And I just want to make sure that the cancer isn't taking too much of a toll.
Yeah, they did Comedy Night, Dumb Zone Comedy Night, felt very make-a-wish.
as close, which is an experience that is not entirely uncommon to me.
You know, most of my, as we've detailed, my athletic career felt very make a wish.
So everyone being like, look, he's trying.
Give it up for him.
That's not new to me.
It's just that on a bigger scale now.
You're crushing it, man.
Hey, thanks.
I don't know Fuzzy Whitaker, though.
My new best friend.
For real.
I enjoy you guys.
Man, well, I appreciate that.
that it's just awesome to be on a regular crew, got moved up.
I'm actually on a crew.
Listen, it might be the Z crew, if you really think about it.
I don't care.
I'm on a crew, not just mixing and matching and different analysts every week.
Listen, it's part of the journey.
It's part of the process.
But it's just awesome to be with Fossey every single week.
Can build that chemistry, and we're enjoying the ride.
Super cool.
How many Fosies do we know?
besides bear.
I've never heard of a Fossey before in my life.
No, and I remember, unless I'm recalling this incorrectly, that is his real name.
F-S-W-W-S-W-S-W-T-T-T-T.
F-O-H-I-T-T-F-W-H-W-T-W-E-E-E-E-E-W-E-E-E-E-W-E-E-E-E.
Foss-W-E-E.
Yep.
Fos-E.
And, yes, I have shortened it.
I've called him F-S on occasion.
Hey, Fawz.
That's excellent.
Oh, he played for Carolina?
Mm-hmm.
Does he know Berline?
So he was well after Berline.
Burline's like a legend in Carolina.
He probably goes back every year.
But he knows Cam Newton.
Again, he played in that Super Bowl, Super Bowl 50, against the Broncos.
Yeah.
Fossey had 11 touchdowns one year.
He played in the Alabama, Texas title game.
Oh, sorry.
11 first downs.
He had one.
Yeah, I was like, whoa, no way.
Two hundred and sixty-five yards rushing and eleven touchdowns.
They just brought him in.
Yeah, Fossey at his size was the goal line back for Carolina.
It was 11 first downs.
Dan's like, did I draft him in fantasy that year?
I know that Ted Emrick is prone to give us Easter eggs during his broadcast.
I just wanted to ask about a tweet I saw from September 12th.
Okay.
Uh-oh.
No, this is not dangerous, but it was when you all were in Florida.
Florida was playing a school called Campbell, Dan.
I'd never heard of them, but I saw them on TV that weekend.
And Ted tweets out, I guess, after his meeting with head coach John Somerall,
John Somerall's mantra for the Florida Gators in Week 2,
be where your feet are.
He was very intentional about that, too, Jake.
He's the coach that wants you to do.
He directed at us.
Does he have a relationship with John Gruden that I'm unaware of?
Apparently, that was news to me.
I see that after they beat Auburn, you know, the following week, this past Saturday.
Yeah.
Jordan was down on the field, like tackling him.
Yes.
I did not know that.
Didn't come up.
But good for him.
Good for him.
He's just trying to be where his feet are.
Before we get into all the gold we have planned for today, we should promote that Friday
we will be out in public at Conne Roso and Carrollton.
I think that's one of the first...
Is that the first place?
No, no, we did a show.
Anyway, who cares what I'm thinking in my head?
We're in Friscoe.
Yeah, we were there early.
Kanye Roso in Carrollton.
We love Conne Roso.
They will be out their PILF catering group.
We'll be out at the Cowboys Stream this coming weekend as well.
Start planning those holiday parties with Pilf catering.
Well, that's a good idea.
I know that you get extremely excited to celebrate.
Isn't today something?
Isn't that why my kid's not at school?
I don't know.
I was in Friday.
It was off last Friday.
John Kukla, I was talking to him Friday, and he was like, our man downtown, you know, at Fox.
And he's like, oh, yeah, lots of people leaving early for the holiday.
And as I was driving home, I'm like, what?
What's the holiday?
Like, because he was, you know, lamenting the fact that, that like us, you know, everybody else leaves it.
You know, remember at the ticket?
It was like, oh, everybody can leave at noon because there's a holiday Monday.
Well, wait.
So nobody also works Friday?
When did this happen to the country?
When I grew up, we used to work hard.
This is how they get you.
Northeast Ohio, though.
That's probably different.
Nothing given.
But so, yeah, what is today's holiday?
Other than wood paneling.
Oh, is it a Jewish thing?
Yes, it's International Day of Peace.
I heard Brad, well, that's not Jewish.
What?
Yom Kippur.
Okay.
That's also a National Ice Cream Cone Day.
Okay.
That's what Brad Sham was referring to.
I heard him say something about it.
Yes, if there is a fasting?
If there's a Jewish holiday coming up,
that's what he said.
Brad Sham will let you know about it on a cowboy broadcast.
He'll work it into his humor.
Yeah, he mentioned something about it was a fasting or something.
Yeah.
I don't know.
Yep.
Anyway, he's got bits going on.
Anyway, where did all this start?
We'll be at Coni Roso Friday.
And the Cowboys will be in Brazil.
Crazy.
Yeah, man, we got field concerns.
Yeah, yesterday, Ted was with Blake.
Ted was also with, well, I don't want to ruin your weekend check.
Let's do a weekend check.
It'll be brought to us by the Parlay Collective.
that is our marketing firm.
Can we call them that?
I like using the word firm.
They're a firm.
Parley is built for businesses, brands, founders, and creators who need strategy and support
across the full marketing process.
They can help you build your foundation, then manage execution across websites, blogs, newsletters, social media.
Monetization!
Paid advertising, partnerships, analytics, and more.
So, yeah, they help us with a ton of stuff.
For instance.
They got us on Quibi.
What does that mean?
You said it was a cross website, so I was thinking.
Yeah, I don't know.
They made our sales decks for us.
They help us make, or they, not help us,
they make our promotional materials.
If you have a business that you'd like to get the word out about,
this is the way to try to do it.
You know, some people just go with basic, like, Google placement ads.
we've talked to a parley works with a couple of our advertisers and this is a different way to get your message out so do it at parlay collective.com check them out parleycollective.com
All right, weekend check number one I will report. I just got off the phone with the freeloading lady who lives in my house.
She's off today?
Well, she had to run home from work.
because they didn't arrive early enough.
They were supposed to be the old,
what would be there between 7.30 and 1.30.
So luckily, they didn't get there before 10.30,
and I didn't have to deal with it.
It being, we finally got a new fridge.
Whoa.
Bit of a yayboo if you're behind the scenes.
Bit of a yayboo because, look, we've mentioned on the air a couple of times,
trying to get some of our sales staff.
like, hey, this is the kind of thing that our, you know, we've got a nice size listening audience and they, uh,
meat fridge for beer.
Yeah, no, I, I just figured.
I got a half cow guy over here.
At the word, we go pitch somebody who sells fridges, like at the very least, you could advertise for a month.
And then this guy's going to pay for a, he's going to buy a fridge from you.
And, well, we never did really find, I don't know, the, that's a weird category.
If you are in, uh, if you are looking at local businesses, it's, it's, it's,
because it's usually at like you can, right, you know, sub zero or whatever, big national brand.
Yeah, it's like, it's within an appliance or it's within like a furniture store.
There'll be a whole different company that's a, they sell the fridges and stuff.
I don't know.
It's a little tougher.
Anyway, the point is, you guys are going to, uh, be able to put your stuff in the fridge when you come over my house and you don't have to go into the garage anymore.
like a how long has it been over a year yeah i can't even find it on the run sheets it's about a year we
made mention that we need a fridge in march so it had to be before then yeah well i'll just
continue to leave my food on the counter if that's okay it is weird that you do that it's god's
way but anyway so that's number one number two am i a narc uh because i just i went through this
this weekend i was like all right i'm going to do this now because
I get all these spam texts.
You know, hey, this is, it's always like a lady's name.
Do they know that I think it's hot?
In parentheses it says with tits.
Yeah, this is Lori with your local arborist.
Do you need a, and I'm like, yeah, roofing company.
Lori spelled L-O-R-I.
Absolutely.
L-A-U-R-I-E.
Yeah.
One is way hotter than the other.
Today, Arbor Day?
That's why the kids are out?
Anyway, so
I've now
I used to just like, well, I'll just delete that
and it always says, do you want to
report spam also?
And I've never done that before.
This weekend, I just started,
okay, everyone, I'm reporting spam.
Oh, I always do that.
Is this doing anything?
I feel like a narc.
Like, ah, they were just
small business trying to do their scam.
No, I mean, you have a spam folder
on your email, and you don't feel bad about that.
No.
This is just you taking matters into your own hands.
This is like the execution thing.
You can't do it yourself.
When is?
Pop Quiz.
When is Hispanic American Heritage Month?
What month?
I have a guess, and it's September.
I'm going to guess it's this month.
Based on what we saw at the Cowboys game yesterday.
I saw some stuff this weekend that indicated
that to me. Okay. You're kind of right.
Cultura. Well, maybe it's like half this month and half next month or something, some weird.
That's what's weird. It's September 15th to October 15th. You're not really getting a,
you can't just tell people, oh. That's ridiculous. Like, hey, Black History Month, February.
You know, it's locked in. It's so ridiculous because it's, they still made it a month. Like,
it's completely arbitrary at that point. So, why not the four-week period or the- Or make it
Who gives us shit? You've made up the time period. Make it six weeks.
So they're like, you can't have February. Oh, really? What about? No, no, no, pride got that one.
You're not even giving us Halloween and Dia de los Mueros. I mean, what are we doing?
They don't, yeah, they don't get out of Labor Day?
They cut it off in mid-October. Or wait.
When did they establish? I'm half-Mexican. I'm very offended, clearly.
Okay, 1988. That's, because I was going to say this feels like Luca Day where they were like, we can't really have nine
11 be Mexican.
So we're going to need you to start right after that.
Yeah, yeah.
Well, anyway, I found that out this weekend.
I also found out this weekend because of the Hornet problem, not really just for walking,
but, you know, I took two birds and everything.
Went to Lowe's, you know, Lowe's Home Improvement.
So I'm guessing.
I have heard of it.
You know?
Well, I don't know.
Is there another Lowe's movie theaters?
I went to the hotel in Arlington.
Yeah, you went to live by Lowe's.
Yeah.
There's a lot of different.
No.
No.
Anyway, full Christmas, everything's up.
Christmas?
Full time.
Because I reported to you when Halloween first popped up its head.
Wow, just skipping straight ahead.
All Christmas stuff now.
They've got a lot of good new items.
How?
And then...
New.
Like my mom.
Watch the Mr. T documentary.
Whoa.
I wasn't even aware that we were...
Called Untold, I think it's another Untold.
Okay, it's part of the series.
You know what I like about that?
It's one hour.
Yeah.
It was like 49 minutes or something.
It was great.
And, you know, Mr. T is just something that it's kind of incredible.
My end review is he's a great guy.
Just a wonderful guy.
There's no like, when he fell into the bottom of the bottle.
Not that that makes you a bad guy.
but I'm just saying there's no real...
It doesn't seem like there's a Kemp spin on Mr. T at all.
It's always...
He says if I'm surprised by this
because the first result that comes up
is that he's not happy with it.
Oh, wow.
That's surprising.
I'd like to read that then.
I don't know why.
It just paints him as an awesome guy.
But it was a...
He's just a gimmick.
He's a bit.
There's just...
There's a small shelf life for that.
Like, I can't believe he lasted really as long as he did
and was able to monetize it into a, you know, a TV series and all the, there was little toys, little Mr. T.
Oh, dude.
I bet you full of dolls and you pull the string.
This is like the beginning of my cultural awareness is like the A-Team.
And I don't know if it was through Nick at night or through what, but that's the first thing I remember thinking that, oh, I think this is cool because my parents do.
I probably thought Mr. T was the most popular person on the planet for a period of time.
I feel like he might have bit.
Well, at least this documentary painted it like that.
He was huge.
Is he actually, is he like actually a smaller guy?
No, 5'10.
Yeah.
But that's not like he's, yeah.
He could stand nose to nose with Stallone.
He's a tiny guy.
Yeah.
Right?
But Rose is right.
Give it to Stallone.
He discovered Mr. T.
He was just, he was actually a bodyguard.
And he kind of is like, hey, I think this guy, this movie.
And then he was.
He was good in the movies, like Stallone said.
And it made me think, what will we be watching?
Because that was like 40 years ago, right?
Mid-80s.
When Mr. T's fame ascended.
What will we be watching 40 years from now?
Or let's just go 30 and it's somebody else from the last decade of fame.
Like, obviously Huck to a girl.
Like, these are real, they burn real fast.
Right.
She went out pretty quickly.
But, and maybe, you know, I was also listening.
I listened to the August episode of the Brewers guy, the podcast.
Yeah.
About Labor War, which is coming in baseball.
And it just made me think of, they were talking about like, or maybe this.
somewhere. Now majorly baseball players have
like real FU money. And back then
it's like Mr. T didn't get that. He didn't get like
his following eight generations will be totally rich too.
But like Logan Paul
or Jake Paul, that's a famous
they came out and seemingly out of nowhere. They're burning bright.
Does he have so much money though that they can't,
they can never fall on.
Yeah, that's interesting.
Mr. T bad times or they can't run.
out of money. Yeah, I think part of it is, I was going to say that we make so many famous people now
that nobody can be famous enough that we'll care about them in 40 years. But at the same time,
like I heard some people talking about this this weekend, Stavi, was talking about Shane. They're like,
Shane's awesome, but there's no reason that he should be making like $500 million. Like in every
feel the people at the top of it
make so much
more than the people in the middle and the
bottom than they did before.
So it's almost inevitable that you
will know who Logan Paul is in 30
years.
I mean, it's almost on a void. He will
still be rich as
unless somehow he decided to get
out of the light, but he wouldn't.
Right. And even then, like, that's rich.
Yeah. Yeah. So I don't know. That's interesting
because there are a few people that you feel
like, and I mean there's some holdovers.
You know, Kanye, until he dies, will have the public's attention.
But he also kind of got famous before the now time.
Shane needs to come out and say $500 million isn't as much as you think it is.
Got to pay taxes.
They make comedians pay taxes too.
I thought there was just NBA.
I think everybody does.
Yeah, I think NFL too.
Clayton?
Weekend check.
Thanks, Daniel.
It's ball season, so it was a Friday night started with ball.
A little Iraqi barbecue.
Oh, kaffy?
Yeah, a little kaffy barbecue.
My new favorite spot, right there with you.
I think it's very close to where the new Dumb Zone studio will be.
Yes.
Yes.
It's dangerous.
Speaking of that, the construction crew from the new Dumb Zone Studio,
was there when I was there.
Shout out to him.
Yeah.
It was nice to see the blue collar boys getting down on some cultural food.
Dan, there's a Muslim guy who runs a barbecue spot.
Business Insider did an interview with him that Clayton sent me.
It's so good.
There's a bunch of different reasons why it's interesting.
Obviously, it's like you can't serve certain types of meat.
And one of those types of meat is sausage, which I learned is like the highest margin
product they have.
You know how like the ticket made a ton of money,
but all the other radio stations?
So like they have items on everything.
And you're a restaurant guys.
You know, some whatever.
Yeah.
But he can't serve that.
So he changes the math a little.
There's things like that.
I thought he just can't eat it.
No, the food is.
They can't prepare it.
The food can't be.
They're not halal.
Everything they make there is halal.
So.
What's halal?
It's just, it's how.
the meat is...
It's how the meat's prepared,
how it's raised,
how it's slaughtered.
It's not dog rib.
It's not just meat.
I'd like one dog rib, please.
They have certain cheese that can be,
you know, they have like rules.
You're not getting pork ribs there.
Yeah, you're heartkeying some delicious lamb spare ribs, though.
Oh my God.
Yes.
I got to make this.
How did the lamb not get the exemption that the dog get?
The dog is like,
lambs are cute and sweet and Mary had one and
as a whole
Yeah I think
Clams aren't pets
Kids have little stuffed animals
Like lamb chop is my daughter's favorite
You know little stuffed animal
In my in my utopian society
Where the AI is taken over
We will have a score
For the mental or intellectual capacity
Of a lamb relative to a dog
Like you know that the dogs is higher
But let's prove it
You ever been around a lamb or a goat
There's nothing going on
upstairs.
Really?
They eat anything.
They're eating trash, you know?
I mean, they don't.
Yeah.
They exist to be herded and slaughtered.
They don't have like a much of a natural purpose to my mind.
A dog like it hunts, you know, dogs have served purposes throughout history.
I think goats have served the purposes of being killed, I think.
But we don't eat goat, do we?
Yeah.
Fuck yeah, that's what you're saying.
We're not a goat.
Excuse me, I don't lamb is not goat, but goat you can definitely eat.
Yeah.
Go to a.
some jerk goat,
curry goat.
Also, Dan, some people eat dogs.
So,
yeah.
It's not entirely beyond the pale.
Great game Friday night with Houston and Tech.
The Monster Energy Big 12 is shaping up to be a...
The logo looks so funny on the field.
I feel like they missed an opportunity.
They need to put the XII in the same font as the monster claw mark.
Drip it down.
Oh, wow.
You know, that would have been amazing.
They'll get there.
Then we did a little a-ocean food for Saturday.
Right.
Into the Cowboys game.
Nice.
And this guy lives right.
It's just so great having Oklahoma State football.
Like everyone, you know, we're catching on.
It's very interesting in the fact that a year ago, like, we're taking our shirts off in the stand.
and everything. And then Eric Morris is like, I really don't like that. But it's like, hey, Eric,
guess what? We started something. It caught on around the world. We're staying with it.
The best thing that I took from the game was we had a thick pick. Oh, nice. And that's when a
defensive lineman gets a pick. Oh, yeah. Malik Charles got a late in the game pick and then
runs it through the end zone. And the funniest unsportsmanlike conduct penalty ever.
was on the defense, the entire defense,
meaning that the defense that was on the sidelines
ran with him onto the field and ran to the end zone with the pick.
Oklahoma State has these new seating things
in the east end zone by Gallagher Iba,
which is our basketball arena.
It's kind of like on-level suites or on-field suites.
The hockey team.
We have a hockey team.
Damn.
sit right there in the end zone every game and their tarps off and they're hammering domestic
lights so the new thing is this happened already once with a tight end earlier in the game they just
run straight to the hockey players so the entire defense runs straight to the hockey players
and the uh boon pickin's baptism is just getting dounced in beer by the hockey team in the end zone
And the announcers are like, well, he's going to have an interesting smell in the locker room
mixed with the normal football jersey.
And he's going to have some – I don't know if Eric Morris is going to like that.
He didn't.
But, yeah, it's just – I mean, it's very nice actually having something to look forward to watching on Saturdays.
Was it a tight game against Murray State?
No.
It wasn't.
And that was fine.
I'm fine with that.
And you're saying –
Mesta Maker was out after the first half.
Our backup looks really good.
You're saying Oklahoma State has arrived at 2-1-1 on the season with a lost at Tulsa.
I'm saying it's just nice to be able to watch a game and no, we're not going to get the shit kicked out of us.
Give them something for the win over.
I think you guys are underrating how captive a football fan base feels by a coach that they don't think they can get rid of.
When you have the same coach for like two decades, half the time you want him gone, but then half the time he's doing okay.
and it starts to feel like this is never going to end.
Yeah.
There's no way out of this middle ground where he'll win six games.
Now we've got a guy who doesn't like players getting doused with beer.
Yeah, but he kills an armadillo like after every win.
So it's kind of like.
I mean, it's kind of funny because his team last year at North Texas
had the stone cold celebration on the sidelines.
It was water, obviously not actual beers, but.
Bashing waters together.
I support all sideline celebrations.
all the bids.
Thank you.
I wish they would just hand the ball back to the ref.
Act like you've been there.
I agree with that.
Let's mention fair lease,
fair lease.org.
Fair lease is to hand the football back to the ref of Carlin's straight down the middle here,
okay?
It's not the time to play fast and loose.
They're backed by the Credit Union of Texas.
That's a community bank.
There is no big bank they have to go ask.
The financing is all done right there through Fairlease.
And that is done online at Fairlease.org.
They can let you shop for your next vehicle there.
A number of our friends in the business game have Fair Lease commercial vehicles,
unlimited mileage leases through Fair lease.
They'll build a flexible lease for you or your business.
It's what they did for Brandon Aubrey and his family.
Delivered him a football, a car right there on the football field.
So maybe they'll drive one to wherever you'd like.
dream big at fairlease.org or call 972705-4815 and ask for Connor or Nick.
Fairlease.com.
Fair lease, when you don't know what to do about a car, because car stuff is hard.
With Fair lease, you don't need a dealership, baby.
I had no wife in town this weekend.
She left Thursday.
Hey now.
Uh-oh.
And as I told you, she was in Newport, Rhode Island, not Newport, Beach, California.
Did you do that on the air?
Yeah, I think so.
So, you know, even though I do have a lot of help with my mom down the street and they can stay the night there, and I'm not complaining.
During the day, there's just, there's a lot of, it's Tetris.
You're trying to move a lot of stuff around.
and after I got out of here Thursday,
I was trying to get the kid home in time to meet the tutor that she does work with once a week.
And we were a couple minutes late.
My kid was crying because I had picked her up from her friend's house.
We're still working through.
That's about a, I'd say one out of every three times we pick up.
The five to ten minute drive home is still, she might as well be three, you know.
She's just upset that she has to leave.
Yeah.
And she knows that we're working through the idea.
Go back to the house of horrors that she lives.
We're working through the idea that, you know, you have a budget of time.
So if you want to stay over here after school, well, now when you get home, all of your free time is gone.
Because now you've got piano.
Now you've got reading.
Now you've got my soccer drills.
Like you've got an...
You have the stuff you do every day.
Get the cones out.
So that's not a fun thought either.
But so we're rushing home.
and I got home.
The tutor was there.
And I ran into the house and I opened my front door
and smashed my face in the eye with my door,
which inadvertently is an ad for Atlas Foundation repair.
Oh, no.
No, no.
A few weeks ago, it opened.
It took serious muscle to open my front door.
And I got home.
I was freaking out the kids crying.
Oh, I hate this.
I just opened it and it hit me right in the face.
I fell down.
The tutor was there.
It was super awkward.
She's an older lady.
I made her.
One thing I did you know.
No, because I'm happy you guys let me get this far into this without mentioning.
When you have my history with the bottle, you immediately have to start documenting things.
So I like took a picture and sent it to my wife.
Asked the lady.
I was like, hey, she saw that.
You signed this?
Yeah, I don't think I could have missed it.
But no, it was.
It was bad, but you're outside all weekend, wore sunglasses.
We had soccer on Saturday, tons of fun.
The boy had soccer.
My mom took him.
It was his first game.
Things went well.
We're very excited.
He's very excited.
He loves the competition, right?
Dude.
When I went over there that morning.
Did he kick ass?
Did she indicate?
I don't, yeah, I don't want to oversell it.
But we will have issues allowing our teammates to have the ball based on the videos I've seen.
Okay.
And there's one part of learning to play soccer on FIFA that I did not really account for.
And that is, you know, I've got it stripped down to like a two-button function.
On offense, he's passing and shooting.
But on defense, there is still a button that allows you to what?
Ted.
Slide tackle?
Slide tackle.
Nice.
So there are a few times on video where, and you know, at that size, that's a, have you
ever tried to execute a slide tackle?
No.
Like, I mean, that's not.
I would imagine you're not allowed to do it.
You're definitely not allowed to do it.
8 U.
soccer or whatever.
I don't think you're, you're probably not allowed to do it until they're 11 or 12, if
then.
Do they give out red cards at this age?
No, and somehow, I think they gave him the sportsmanship award.
Oh, okay.
They gave me a...
We're giving awards after game one?
Every game, there's a sportsmanship award.
Not Wiley.
Wow.
And it's like this is the point of this league.
Maybe the award means you were awesome.
I-9 is supposed, you know, they're really focusing on values here.
It's not at a church, but it, you know, I've been at ones that like this where they talk values.
But in any case.
We'll throw away once you get old enough, but...
Yeah, perhaps.
Just so you know when you're crossing that line later.
But then we went from there to the rides at Main Street.
Whatever's going on there right now, I think it's Pat Yom Kippur.
Main Street Days.
Is it Main Street Days or is it something else?
There's two of them every year.
Great Fest.
It wasn't great.
Great Fest is one of them.
I don't think it might have been.
It doesn't matter.
They're the same to me because I can walk down the street.
That's kick ass.
The kid is at the perfect age for that.
I mean, he'll just do the same one.
five times in a row.
And you just kind of chill and complain about the cost of it.
You just, you know going in, you're screwed.
So whatever.
But we went early, you know, the problem with it is it's a billion degrees.
But we were able to knock it out pretty early.
Watched a ton of football.
Went out to Fort Worth on Saturday night and got into five-minute stand-up sets.
And in between, there was a.
Classic car slash
like Latino culture thing happening in downtown Fort Worth.
Like the whole four or five block area was shut down.
It's classic car Latino month.
Right now.
Yeah, just this week.
But it was awesome.
Like, I'm not car guy, and I never would be,
but I think they create a nice energy.
When they're just parked, all the badass cars are parked everywhere,
and everyone's just, it was a band?
Is it a better energy than,
because I was in downtown,
Ventura one, were you there that year?
On the weekend it was like
VW bug.
I don't know. That's not bad.
Get together and that was kind of cool
to see a hundred of those things
all around town. Yeah, sometimes they do
this in Grapevine.
You know, where they'll have like the old British cars
or something, but yeah, it was like
it was very cool.
It was very lively.
And I just, you know, you got,
it was an 8 o'clock show and a 10 o'clock show.
Well, if you're doing five minutes,
you had a lot of time to kill me between i brought my computer you know like i went back to the car
worked but then you just you know i the solo experience of just walking around like i like you do
that like you do but i want to do it where like shit is happening but if i can just do that
i really enjoy it just walk around that was uh that was nice uh and then so is it i don't want to drive
to Fort Worth just for one set.
I might as well.
No, there's no control over.
Basically,
I drove all the way here.
Basically, if you say you're good on a night,
then you're saying you're good for the whole night,
whatever they ask you to do.
That could be two, three things.
It could be upstairs, downstairs,
you're saying I'm good for the night.
They don't really have,
there's enough people that want to do it.
So this wasn't an open mic?
No.
Oh, okay.
There's enough people that want to do it,
I think, to where they're not going to let you,
pick and choose and be like, hey. Are you getting paid?
It might be like
10 bucks. I told him I don't.
You're professional.
No.
Yeah, you're getting paid. I think it is
a legal situation
probably where
you know, it's like a production company.
Like Henry, we would never pay him generally unless
the law made us. Correct.
Correct. I think it's like when
Trump won that suit
for the Buffalo bills and they gave him
$1 or something.
Technically like there's a thing we
have to fulfill here yeah whatever it was but it was a great weekend man is it the same tight five
eight o'clock show and ten o'clock show i'm i mixed it up a little bit frankly ted based on
the racial composition of the crowd no for real you're willing to adapt that's smart because
i have jokes that i've noticed black people laugh at and white people don't it's actually a
significant problem for me so if five six black guys walk in i'm like fucking let's go yeah this is and you're
Fort Worth where anybody will tell you, I mean, you see people do it.
You might as well be in, like, it might as well be kill Tony.
Like, you're going to hear R word, F, slur.
It's people want to do their, I got, I'm Fort Worth and then we don't give a fuck out here.
Yeah.
The stage.
Yeah, that's not my bit.
But if I do see black guys, then I'm like, yeah, here's a Black Panther joke.
You already gave a little love to Atlas.
Let's just give them a little more and then get the Blake's.
Well, straight up.
They fixed my house.
No, you always hear that is that, you know, your doors and wind if they're sticking.
Like that is a tell.
That's an indicator that you could have foundation problems.
So that was the deal with you?
It was like you got to lift the door and then shove it with your shoulder to get it closed.
Because we got one of those.
Beyond that.
Yeah, you're doing the lethal weapon as you try to Tetris.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
It was a lot.
We knew we needed help, but it took, you know, finding somebody like Kyler and Atlas to get it done.
Atlas Foundation Inc.com.
They've been doing this for 68 years.
They do not employ salespeople.
They're not there to get a commission on you.
It's really been 68 years?
For real?
Yeah, 1958.
We got to keep them happy as an advertiser for one more year so we can do that.
Correct.
That'll be great.
So just for that, just for that, you should call Atlas for a free look at your foundation,
just to make sure they stick around for 69.
You can book that free inspection online at Atlas Foundation Inc.com.
They'll get in there and take care of things.
Did it at my house.
If I need work again, it'll be done through Atlas.
Atlas Foundation Inc.com.
Busy weekend for me.
I had, I think, my second all-time true trifecta,
which is a high school game on Friday night, college game on Saturday, pro game on Sunday.
It's a very busy weekend.
Was Ted at all of them?
He was at two of the three.
Should have invited him Friday.
I missed Argyle somehow.
Yeah, he had coaches meetings and stuff at T.C.
He had better things to do.
But Argyll rolled on Friday.
We played Highland Park at the new Argyll Stadium.
And I hope you took the over because there were 107 points scored in the game.
Is that a game you did not?
expect to win?
Highland Park has been struggling, have they not?
Yeah, they're not.
They're a little undersized and it's a down year for them.
I feel like everybody's scheduling harder stuff at the beginning of the year now.
Yeah.
I mean, it is a good measuring stick.
And also, I think that these lower schools are just not going to play DeSoto.
They're not going to play higher teams and get the shit kicked out of them.
So the big bullies can all beat up on themselves.
and it's a little more divided, I feel like, the normal.
But yeah, over 1,000 yards of offense.
It was, but it was cool.
I mean, seeing Randy Allen on the other side,
we had a tep and step doing the game.
Island Park has a TV crew and a radio crew.
There was a lot going on at the stadium.
How many booths do they have?
Could they accommodate everyone?
Yeah.
At the new stadium, they have that kind of set up.
Yeah.
We had to move like some scouts and some people,
around, but everyone had a booth and it all worked out somehow.
Okay, I'm asking because I'm old and I actually do find myself at home on Friday night
free after like nine often.
What do you mean when you say that Matt and Greg called the game?
So Dave Campbell's will do a broadcast of the week and they chose that game.
Okay.
This is new this year.
They're not doing like the thing we grew up with kind of where they run the school, like
through the whole evening.
Right, not just the traditional scoreboard show.
They might still have that presence.
They do an hour.
Yeah, after.
Yeah, late Friday night.
Excellent.
They're doing a game of the week on Dave Campbell's website, you know, YouTube, I'm sure, all of that.
I sound very old right now.
Website.
Internet.
Some people don't put it on YouTube, so I know what you mean.
Right.
Cool.
Yeah, so they were there.
It was cool.
It was a very fun atmosphere.
I ran into somebody that we had crossed past at the ticket.
I hadn't seen in a long time.
Russell Scott walked into our booth.
Russell,
my first interaction was Russell Scott was he was a program director at KTCU
and he would get mad at me for connecting from Coach's shows too late.
Coaches shows would go on at six and 23-year-old Blake would connect at like 540.
And then he did tickers for a little bit.
He did not understand that LT stood for left tackle.
He thought L.T. Laramie Tunsel's nickname was L.T.
So sometimes you'd call Laramie Tunsel L.T. Tunsel.
Anyway, he's a great guy. He walked in my booth. He does some stuff with Highland Park.
Did not remember who I was, which was exciting.
But my one takeaway, as he was leaving, he turned and I saw Russell Scott has an earring.
Did he lose a bet?
And that was not a guy I had pegged for wearing a
He's kind of an old, older stuffy guy.
Yeah, goatee, little...
I don't know how you feel about this, Ted, given your dad's experience in the radio industry.
But I would say, and somehow Russell Scott's name came up the other day.
Like, we know somebody who went to college with him or something.
I don't remember how he came up, but...
But if you think about radio guy and guitar center guy, there's a lot, oftentimes a lot of overlap things.
I feel like radio guy with earring is not like JJ or somebody we knew like that having an earring.
Yeah, I can see that.
You'd be like, okay.
It's just a guy who works in audio video.
I would say he's got an earring.
More engineers.
More engineers.
Who do play guitar in a band on the side.
Magic cards.
But Russell Scott does surprise me.
Yeah.
They really surprise me.
Yeah.
He's like analogous to Ned Flanders, to be honest with you.
Like, he's an extremely well-mannered.
Oh, yeah.
Great dude.
Yes.
Soft gentleman.
Yes.
Yeah.
I enjoyed running into him.
So is that like when I started to lose my hair or whatever, then I'd notice everybody else who, oh, look.
They're past me.
Are you looking at you guys with earrings?
Oh, no.
As your picks are like one in nine or whatever?
Yeah.
As KT and myself are not out of the gates hot.
You both tripled Dallas.
Yeah, and I think we lost every other game.
I was so bad when y'all both picked that, because it was obvious.
I know.
It was right there for you, too.
And so there's a kind of post, I'll get to Saturday.
There's a post that'll go viral every once in a while, and it's of a parent, and I don't, I don't want to make it seem like I'm complaining.
But the post is always the same.
It says, if I ever said I was busy or tired before kids, I was lying.
And this is it.
This is the busy time because get back from Argyl game Friday night after having to run the kids to two different places for babysitting.
Get back home.
Oh, the young kid is up.
I got to put him down.
Now I can finally get in bed.
Then we got gymnastics in the morning.
We got a soccer game.
I got to take them to the in-laws.
I got to pick them up from the in-laws.
Take them to my parents.
It's just non-stop.
And when I'm 80, I'm going to wish for these days back.
But right now, it's just how can we stay above water?
So wake up, go to gymnastics, we drop a gift off at a birthday party, then we go to Brooks's
soccer game, and I shed my first sports tier, I think, maybe of my life.
And it wasn't after my kid scored a goal, which he scored two.
It was when the other team scored, and a kid on their team started going nuts because they
had scored a goal, and he said, we have three, we have three.
And he's just very excited.
His team had scored three.
my son goes up to this kid and says you have three we have five you only have three we're still winning
got to get scoreboard and now this kids has been rightfully put in his place yeah I loved it
I didn't even teach him that it's funny to hear you say that because that is specifically the type of
behavior that you tend to try to
coach out of a child on the spectrum.
We're like, we don't always say every single
thing that we're thinking to every person
who walks by. We don't tell
everyone their shoes are ugly.
Right.
No, there are deeper levels to this game.
People are going to have moles.
Yeah. Where'd your legs go?
Well, if you remember, about
a year and a half ago, straight up
pointed and laughed the first time he
saw a midget. So
universal experience. I honestly
don't think any kids passing that test at that age.
So then go to the TCU game.
I got a nice text message from my friend Ted Emrick a few weeks ago looking for a stats
guy.
And I kind of said, you know, I can do it if you need some help.
And I think...
But you just led this thing off with, I'm doing too much.
My kids kill...
Like, you don't blame the going to TCU and having fun with Ted.
Uh-uh.
As why your weekend was hectic.
Right.
It was these kids.
I'm choosing to think I helped a buddy that needed some help.
Like there's times where he could have taken a nap.
He could have just chilled.
I think they had a great time with their grandparents all weekend.
Okay.
I support pedal to the medal, but you do have to note you are making some choices.
Oh, yeah.
It's definitely my fault.
And so I was hired by ESPN to do stats for TV.
And I had never done any work for TV before.
and heart rate at start was 107.
Just, I hadn't been that nervous in a long time.
And as an adult, like, we have very few of these experiences left where we get, like, literal, like, sweaty palms.
And I think it's, I think it's a good thing.
Like, I think that keeps you young.
You got adrenaline?
Yes, no doubt.
And seeing Ted do the-
Like what? Like, if I mess this up, there would be some higher consequence, then?
I think it's just you just really want to.
Do you want to get it right?
How's the TV coin?
Better than radio?
I don't know yet.
Oh, okay.
I'll let you know.
But no, it was cool.
Seeing Ted do the stand-up.
So there was no negotiation.
You didn't say, I'll do it for.
You just said, yes, I'll do it.
No, I said, yeah.
Do you want to work this game?
Yes.
Yes, I do.
I have a Saturday night open.
But, yeah, working with the truck and being in the booth, a TV booth.
You know, the TV gets the 50-yard line.
Radio gets stuck in hands out.
Oh, yeah.
out in the stands if things fill up. Right. You and Burline might have to go. I had never been in. There was no table falling over.
No. Okay. Yeah. Their table was very secure. Plenty of space. Yeah. So it was awesome.
Get those call letters behind you, you know? I know. So you check in at the TV truck. They have food catered for you.
They have a runner. Like you need your parking pass. You're your credential. Hey, we have this person bringing out to you.
The booth is at the 50. It's all of the, it's the part of the stadium I'd never been.
allowed in before. And so I'm thinking, I've made it. This is ESPN life. In about six minutes to
open, Ted says, hey, can we open these windows? Because it is closed in and you always need an
open air booth. And with about five minutes until the open, we realize that we can't get the windows
open. So just let me know. It's not Blake's job, by the way, to open the windows. I got out of
there. There are other people in the book.
booth and typically whether it is the A2, the audio two assistant, right, or this person or that person
again, running operations, they're in the booth, they can't figure it out. It's one of those
windows where you have to take the pain bit by bit and put it on the track. It's not like
you're just opening a window or, you know, up, it goes, it slides up, and they can't get it on
the track.
and they have to call somebody in from TCU to figure this thing out.
In a couple minutes before, they're supposed to go live.
This is all going down.
And so in my head, I was hired to do stats.
I don't know anything about this.
I'll be in the corner and I will just get out of the way.
So that was kind of nice.
It's not, it's not on me.
It's unlike when you were out there fishing a headset.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
That's me.
And from, you know, Roe X in Section 12.
A mafia heavy to get a headset back.
Yeah.
Somebody in the 300s in Jersey.
This was not me.
I got out of the way and I didn't enjoy what I was watching because everyone was a little nervous,
but it was nice to just not be responsible for that.
So the game went well.
Blake was incredible.
He won't say it.
So I will get first time working with Blake as a statistician.
Many games as a producer now, the Cowboys games with Steve Burline.
he was excellent.
He is absolutely of that caliber,
people that I work with at ESPN.
I would use Blake anytime.
He was awesome.
From what I understand,
it's very difficult to be a statistician
for a football game.
In fact, I heard for many years Brad Sham
would just have his wife do it.
Oh, yeah?
Yeah.
So that's the bar I have for how difficult this job is.
and then Ted just came in here and told me it was like surgery.
So I'm not sure where to.
I didn't say it was surgery.
He asked me to write numbers down and I did what I was told.
And I guess he's used to working with.
I mean, again, there is a difference.
You know.
You know when some people are on top of it.
Right.
You know Blake is a different guy.
Yes.
No matter what he does.
Can you do math in your head very quickly to give the yardage on a big play
that 57-yard pass for a touchdown
so that you can tag the call.
I'll tell you the people on Fox can't do it.
I'm sitting there.
How long was that?
You know, you're writing notes for the cowboy game.
Right.
How long was that?
Or they're just not feeding it to KB?
KB and TB.
At least there you have the screen.
Yeah.
Like when you're talking about Brad at times,
it's like there's no, I don't actually know.
Well, it's not like he then spits it out.
I know, but it's important.
I mean, even Ted was doing TV Saturday.
It's important, hey, big play, 46-yard.
That's in his lingo that you tagged the play.
So, yeah, you're right.
All I did was write a number down,
but I tried to do very well for my friend Ted.
A lot of trends and, you know, what's going on in the game?
What are they on third down?
They've completed their last six passes in a row,
little trends like that.
He was awesome.
Sunday Cowboys game, I'm back to picking up Burline.
Uber.
Your life.
So you pick up Steve Burline from the airport.
No.
Oh, they fly him in the night before?
Yeah.
And then where's the hotel?
Downtown, Dallas?
I drove to the old one.
Oh, he never informed you where he was.
On my way, he's like, hey, by the way, I'm staying at a different hotel.
Like, okay.
Wonder why they don't put him down at the Lowe's in Arlington?
He could then walk.
He might not want to stay there.
You think?
That would be great.
Okay, I would absolutely want to stay there.
I got lows all the time.
I think the lows next to the stadium would be cheaper than the place he stays at now.
So it might save the company a little cheddar.
That's what I'm saying.
He may have a stander.
Well, you driving to pick him up is saving the company a little.
True.
Guy turned in the mileage.
Okay.
Which I guess better for me.
But yeah, baseball traffic was nuts.
Baseball game, football game on the same day in Arlington does not go well.
And I wanted to tell Jake this because you've been claiming, like, do more Mexican heritage stuff.
Do some stuff for the 300, 400 level at the Cowboys Stadium.
The Cowboys have...
T.C. right?
The Cowboys, yes.
The Cowboys have by percentage, I would say it's not just by mass.
They have by percentage the highest share of Latino fans of any franchise in America.
And it's not close.
The Lakers would be second.
But the Cowboys, and they do stuff, but the hardcore cow, if you go to a cowboy parking lot on Sunday, it is over 50% Latino.
And those people are, in my mind, not that far off from East Coast fans when it comes to getting rowdy.
But if you go to a game, the entire first two levels, I saw a picture on Twitter last night.
There was a third and six.
And from the Inzone view, everyone's just sitting down.
Like the entire first level.
But that 300 level is so loud that the defense has trouble hearing their calls.
That's true.
Yeah.
But no, T.C. went and set up there one time and was like, this is a different experience.
This is like being at an NFL game, you know, because T.C. goes to Seahawks games and Bears games and a bunch of college games.
So yes.
So they...
Put the stripe on the helmet.
Yeah, they'll do that at some point.
Well, I notice...
I'm serious.
Do it for teams to do stuff like that all the time.
All of last year, they had the mariachi band.
and it's back, of course, and that gets a very loud ovation.
They have started to do a little more.
So they did the mariachi band shot, and the crowd is going nuts,
and they finish their song or whatever.
And then for the next 30 seconds until the game starts,
they just show fans on the Jumbotron.
And the first fan that they show after the Mariachi band
was this, like, 50-year-old hot Latina grandma,
these big cans.
And so the crowd is already going crazy.
Then it tamperes down.
And then they show her,
standing up and doing this and it just got equally as loud.
That's the rescue.
Hey, yeah!
So they played off of it, which I thought was funny.
That's the way.
We have a lot of those women here.
Put them up there.
And the Cowboys covered.
The Cowboys covered.
The Cowboys did cover.
All right.
Let's get into that.
Oh, yeah, I like that.
Brought to us today by Plum Quick.
Jake already mentioned that whole home,
the home membership that you can sign up for
at Plumquick Company.com or 469-331-3669.
Yeah, I got to get them out there.
Just a couple little things that are bothering us,
but I actually want them to do the water heater flush.
They'll just come out once a year at the very minimum,

Yes Cowboys beat Washington
Cover fairly easily
probably still would have if Jaden Daniels didn't get hurt.
Yeah, I did look up the half-by-half splits if you're interested.
In the first half, the performance they had, it was about average.
It would have been 16th.
It would have ranked about...
The Cowboys defense?
Cowboys defense in the first half with Jaden Daniels.
That type of defense throughout a full season would rank like 18th to 20th.
The defense in the second half was closer to...
22 to 24.
It was actually...
No, I have those flipped.
My bad.
The first half they were about 22 to 24.
The second half, it was about 16, 18, average.
So it got better.
Yeah, it was not...
It was not...
It was not...
It was not great against Jaden Daniels,
but it was markedly better
than it was last week for the full game.
I mean, they had a three and out, you know?
They had a stop.
They had progress.
When you guys are doing the...
national game for radio.
How close are you guys to TB and EA and...
Nowhere close.
Nowhere close.
All the radio booths are way up top and in the corner.
Even sham and everything?
Yes.
Same level.
Home radio, visiting radio, the commander's radio crew.
If Westwood One is doing the game, if it's Sunday night, you know, Thursday night,
a standalone game.
They're there as well.
And Compass is there for every Cowboys game, of course.
So, yeah, same level.
They're in the corner.
And TV, 50-yard line, low, perfect view.
Very different.
Got to make room for Dean Blandino.
Dino.
It was the Battle of the Visor versus the backwards hat.
Certainly Tom Landry,
rolling over or something.
Just very upset about this.
And I thought the games, I mean, this is what we're talking about on Friday, I think,
or at least the way I thought they have to do.
I think this is the way they have to play all year long.
Now, can you?
I don't know.
I guess you'd, I guess time will tell.
But I think they've got to come out because Shottie mentioned it in his post-game press conference.
He said, our plan was to come out, throw it around, really, you know,
sling it around a lot and, you know, get some points now.
And I just think their defense sucks.
I think it's horrible.
I think it might get better.
I mean, it should.
It was way better yesterday.
But I don't think it's good.
And I think it might have been, you know,
it might have been way better yesterday because Washington maybe not as good as the Giants in the long run.
I don't know.
I guess we'll find out.
I know.
But that's what.
But, I mean, they were still giving up six yards of carry, it seemed like.
Well, what were the final numbers on that?
Yeah.
Like, even their, what's supposed to be their strength is not a strength.
They're not, at least they can't run the ball on this.
Feels like they can do everything on you.
And you just got to throw it.
You got to, what do you have?
You have DAC and you have two number one wide receivers in theory.
And DAC just started chucking it around to CD, CD,
CD was feeling it early.
Give credit to Dak, too.
I think he's trying not to lose George Pickens.
Because you might lose George Pickens.
So like that next drive, he was trying to force it to George Pickens.
Even though George Pickens is dropping balls and doing uncharacteristic things,
I think that's a concern.
And I think Dak will work on addressing it.
But more than even shoddy, I mean, I credit Dak.
I credit DAC for executing this game plan.
He ends up breaking Tony Romo's record, which is a whole other thing on this day.
We love the Tony Romo.
You know, high school DAC was a college DAC or high school DAC tweeting about how Tony Romo sucks and he's done?
I'm pretty sure it was college.
2012.
At Washington, the game I was at.
Certainly you can't, you know, have this.
in the old days.
Somebody was bitching about Terry Bradshaw,
but no one ever knew it later.
You know, Ben Rothesberger hated
I don't know, but...
Well, it's not...
I just thought that's the way they got to play.
That's the way they got to win.
They just got to score, score, keep scoring.
It's never enough, I think,
for the Cowboys this year.
I mean, that's one way to go about it.
I would say the other team has a lot to do
with what you can and can't do.
And I thought
maybe just confirmed all my priors.
but I just, I think everything Brady was saying yesterday, I agreed with a lot.
I thought they have to be able to run the ball.
They have road grading offensive linemen and a good running back and their quarterback is old.
And they have, I mean, I feel like I keep saying this, but it doesn't land.
The Cowboys ran the ball at, they were maybe fifth or sixth in efficiency running the ball last year.
And they did it with one of the most creative run games in the NFL.
I mean, they were able to run the ball.
So just because you think you need to, I got to score points, I got to score points.
Why would you play suboptimal?
I mean, at some point the other team is going to make you run the ball.
I feel like the Giants certainly were trying to play a little bit more of a we're going to make you run the ball game.
And that gets back to are you the hammer or the nail?
Can you decide what you're going to do?
But I think week to week it's probably going to change.
And I would say just bailing on a team that can run the ball.
when you can do it well, I would advise against that.
Is there a difference, though, between being able to run the ball and, like, making that your identity type thing?
Like, I feel like Shottie somehow would love that to be their identity.
He wanted to come out and say, look at how he ran for 200 yards against the Giants.
Like, it's almost like to show that they can do this.
because if you just use Dax, CD, and George Pickens,
well, that would be the game plan I would come up with,
that every dumb fan would come up with,
that Jerry Jones would come up with,
because I pay him, that's the three highest paid guys.
But, like, isn't it more, if we can do it in a different way, too?
Like, I think they have to be able to run the ball,
and that's going to hurt them.
Like, they couldn't do it in the fourth quarter yesterday.
And you know what they did then?
Well, we still have DAC.
and C.D. and George Pickens, so let's just do that and put this game away.
Because we don't want to keep running the ball thinking we just got to kill time and run the ball.
What I'm trying to say is, I think you have to look at it as the game moves throughout the game.
And if you run the ball a few times and it doesn't work or you run the ball, you may get a look that
becomes more favorable to now throwing the ball. These are not.
Oh, yeah, yeah. To me, I just don't. I realize you're setting stuff up.
And all of it.
So if they're running the ball and then they hit a big play through the pass a couple plays later,
do you then say, well, we run the ball a couple of plays ago.
Stupid.
Why didn't you just do the long pass earlier?
So to me, I just thought overall yesterday, they called a pretty good game.
And you can flirt with three and outs very quickly if you start saying, I mean, I honestly thought that the going to Pickens as much as they did on the first drive yesterday.
I heard David Moore predict that on the pregame show.
I hate that.
I mean, I guess it's a personality thing, but.
How long have you?
Yeah, I know.
It's T.O.
It's all of it.
But the guy's not going to be here long term.
I know, but they have some plans for this year.
For sure.
They want to go far into the playoffs.
I don't mind getting in.
They're not going to do it without George picking.
And on third and two, throwing him a quick out for a first down, it's not, it's always a good player.
I'm not against it.
But I don't love feeling like we've got to do this or got to do that.
I think you end up at third and ten very quickly.
So I don't know.
My philosophy on all this stuff has changed a lot over the last 10 years, for sure.
And the league has moved and I think running the ball, especially running the ball and then being able to throw out of run formations.
It's very important now.
and yesterday they decided they were going to spread them out and throw it around.
And some weeks that might be the move.
I just think some weeks it might not be.
I think they really miss Tyler Smith.
And I know that's obvious, but I mean,
you saw it from the very beginning when they were trying the few times they did hand it to Javante.
You know, it's just that T.J. Bass in that place, it's just a far different player.
It's definitely different, but I don't think it's enough for them to say we just aren't going to
to try this, you know.
I think the DAC sneak, I'm glad I saw a DAC sneak with a guard out, you know,
there's years past where you'd think, ah.
Yeah, where was that on the field?
That wasn't in your own territory, though, right?
No.
No.
But, yeah, that was like, hey, that's how easy it can be.
He's a big man.
Man, in general, I tweeted that during the noon games.
It's an 80 to 85% success rate over the last five years.
Brady was like a 95% success rate.
You'll see teams on third and one and fourth and one call.
I hate to say get too cute because it sounds like a sports radio caller thing to say,
but it really is.
Landry Locker calls it coaching for clout.
Right.
And I love it.
That's kind of what you're saying with Shottie,
is that you're doing something besides trying to win.
You're trying to do some sort of a,
this is how people are going to think of me.
And I think all coaches do that to an extent.
But I don't know.
Yesterday they empowered Dak and he,
that was the plan yesterday.
I don't think it's going to work every week.
Let's see.
You're still pretty, I mean,
you didn't think yesterday was markedly better
than at least week one on the other side?
Defensively?
Yeah.
It was better, but I mean, still,
third and 18, they're converting it.
They're gashing him for five yards of carry.
There's a lot of problems.
I think they're very lucky that the opposing quarterback got hurt.
Yeah, he wasn't exactly, I mean, he's kind of boom or bust, I guess.
I just feel like there's going to be a lot of high-scoring games.
And I think the Cowboys offense is up for it.
Now, again, you would love to be able to run the ball and to eat more clock and all that kind of stuff,
keep that defense off the field for a little bit.
But I don't know that, I guess that remains to be seen,
whether the Cowboys offense can be that.
But you got, you have CD and George Pickens.
Have fun.
Let's light it up.
I just don't think that's, I mean, I don't think it's that simple, but maybe.
I mean, they made it look simple yesterday.
CD Lambs awesome.
That can't, that, was it the last touchdown?
Which touchdown when he just fought for it?
Second one, I guess.
Like that.
Right.
That's a man's wide receiver play.
Reaching over.
That belies his size.
He plays bigger.
He runs bigger and tougher than he looks, for sure.
But, I mean, he also, last year in the opener,
cost him the game with drops.
And Pickens had to, I mean, sometimes they try.
The Cowboys have had an uncharacteristic amount of.
Was a CD or Pickens dropping the ball last year?
In the opener, it was CD.
Yeah.
Yeah, I don't know.
I thought that I saw a lot on the other side.
You have to be worried.
You have to be worried about.
Yes, there were, okay, you want to just say better?
I thought they were consistently better on the Jaden Daniels, you know,
the misdirection play where last week it was like Jackson Dart would find himself
an easy 20 yards any time he did that, whereas they were covering that up.
And but, so they were covering up, it felt like the planned quarterback
runs, but I got an athletic quarterback and he can get out for an 18-yard run whenever he kind of feels
like it.
If things break down, they still have that problem.
And that's going to be a big problem next week, perhaps.
Yeah, I would say so.
Unless you can take a look at whatever Kellan Moore was doing over there.
How about that?
Yeah, I don't know exactly what happened in the game.
I mean, I've seen some highlights, but we'll go back.
but it's certainly
you'd rather not be playing the
Ravens coming off at loss to the Saints
I don't know
I thought the pressure I thought they
it wasn't overwhelming yesterday
but I mean to me
I think I'm hoping
at some point in this season
I can get you to acknowledge that
Quinn and Williams is a massive difference maker
I'd like to see that
the first drive of the game
he gets his stuff and they're punting two plays
later
like that was a lot of
with Jane Daniels out there. The first play of the game
where Sean Gary got a pressure, forced a bad
throw to their tight end. The second
play of the game, they tried running
inside and Quentin Williams got a TFL.
And now
we're getting off the field of the play later
and we're going up 10-0 on the other end.
Like, that's a Micah-like play
where they tried something.
He said no,
and now you're in a bad spot. We're getting off the field.
To me,
I mean, the pressure
last year was, I think, better than you thought it was
because it finished pretty high.
Last week was terrible.
This week was a little bit better.
The Caleb Downs getting lost in motion
where Saad's friend basically just paddled
Christian Parker. That's going to happen.
But it didn't seem like it happened near as much as it did last week.
Was that the Diggs one?
Yes.
The Diggs touchdown? Okay.
Motion him across the formation.
Yeah.
was concerned. Now, I don't, is it Traylon Burks?
Yeah, the deep shot?
Yeah, like, wow, that.
Former first round pick.
Kobe Durant was in the dust on that one.
Oh, that's the play. I'll, I could play it now. I was going to play some Tom Brady stuff.
For you later.
TB.
This was the play of the TB. They tried to take that deep shot.
Yeah, very good. Another good play call, that's second and one. I just want to go back.
That's the time where you can take.
a shot because if you miss it, you're right back to third and one.
It's a shot down.
The defense should know that.
But again, more smart play calls there by David Blow.
Dan, I would like to let you know that I did a mountain of research on this over the weekend.
On second and one.
I think, I mean, I think it's such an obvious thing that Tom Brady, it's not like you're
smart if you say that.
I just don't think.
At the same point on radio in real time.
I don't think people do it very often, though.
So let's say second and one, just second and one and passing.
So it's not medium pass, deep pass, et cetera.
Second and one.
Last year, the league was at 27%.
Completion rate?
Pass rate.
Okay.
Is that terrible?
Well, I'm just saying that's the amount they passed.
Oh, I'm sorry.
Not whether you complete a pass rate.
I'm sorry.
What did you do?
Now, in years.
That's not surprising.
That's what I just said.
You go back before that, it usually hovers, that's low.
It usually hovers between 27 and 33.
The highest it's ever been is like 32 and a half.
So it's roughly the same every year.
It's about 30%.
At second and one or two, it goes up a few percentage points, but not much.
So I went back and looked at the teams.
The Cowboys, for example,
Last year, their pass rate, now here's the problem.
Very small sample, right?
Like, so, for example, you don't get that many.
Last year, Dallas had, let's see, they had 28 such plays.
They threw seven times.
So they were at about that rate.
Now, I saw a tweet over the off season.
This guy who's blowing up now used to work for maybe the Eagles,
Ryan Paganetti.
Yes.
He did a breakdown on Benjohn.
Johnson because Ben Johnson has had some pretty, he's first in every one of these pass rates.
So you look at it and let's see, 24, number one is New Orleans, but number two is Kansas City.
Let's see some teams here at the top.
I'm trying to find where those Chicago teams were.
Let me go back up to Dallas.
So 2024, Dallas was right in line with the.
league. They've basically never been above
league average other than in 2019
they had an anomalous year.
At no point as Dallas had
a coach McCarthy or Schottenheimer
that was above league
average in this category. Going back to
2016. There's been one year.
So
you're, whether
it's, I started to somewhat change my mind
on this when people started to think about
like you've just got to get a first down.
That's the main thing. Just move the chains.
But then if you think,
about...
Because that...
You now eat another couple minutes off the clock.
Right.
You've, uh, yeah.
You're keeping that defense on the field.
But now think about, um, if you're the type of person that thinks that four down territory
extends, well, now you've got another down.
So if you're already in and one and you're the type of person that thinks that fourth down
is a real play, you should absolutely be passing at an over 50% rate on second and one.
In 2021, Ben Johnson's team was, they were seventh, then fifth, then fourth, and then now he's in Chicago.
And so there are guys who make this their calling card.
Chicago was second last year passing at 54.5% of the time.
Wow.
Yeah.
That's awesome.
Yeah.
I suppose if, well, I was going to say, even if you do it all the time and that becomes
the trend, well, now guess what else is going to open up?
you're going to be able to easily get that one yard running if that's the case.
But, yeah, 50% I would think that should be the number.
Let's play fake.
Let's mess around, whatever.
But if you put yourself in a spot where you have a 75% run rate, that is predictable.
And I thought you were going to tell me that the rate of actually completing a pass is lower than average.
And I would expect that because you're taking a shot in theory.
You're not throwing a quick little dump out.
Now, a quick little, Deshaun watching screen.
I can find that for you for our next show.
I will tell you that it is about 35 to 40% of those throws overall are medium or deep,
which has to be higher than the normal rate.
It has to be.
But we will follow up on that.
The point is the Cowboys, the entire time that you've been talking about them and noticing this,
they've never had a coach that bucks that trend ever,
which is not that surprising.
Not even Chan Galey.
I was thinking also about cowboy coaches
who have just been one and done
where the rest of the league is like,
eh, like,
I think Shottie's one,
but I guess that remains to be seen.
But I mean, Jason Garrett was.
Shotties is weird because of his age, right?
He's so, but Campo.
Campo.
you know, Barry Switzer even.
The rest of the league's not dying to have Barry Switzer coach their team.
There's absolutely something to that.
And I think Christian Parker and Clayton Adams are not on that list.
That's my thing.
Right.
You're correct.
When they leave here, they will have a long career outside of the White Lennon vacation to Lake Como or wherever that photo is.
See, there were a couple things that happened on the Washington side that I do think
that one deep shot that could have changed things a little bit.
You had that, what did you guys make of the play where the,
who was the receiver that had caught it?
They were on one foot, but then they landed kind of on their knee.
Yeah, Diami Brown.
And they were all guaranteeing this will be overturned once we come back from break.
We thought it was a touchdown.
Yeah.
That's what those guys did.
I mean, yeah.
Don't know.
And then even the credit, who's the booth guy?
Is it Blandino?
Dean Blandino for sticking to those guns and saying, yeah,
I think that should have been a touchdown.
Yeah.
Like him and Tom Brady immediately were like, well, in fact, do you want their bad chemistry
when they both immediately saw that?
Let me just say this real quick.
Brady is growing on me so much.
I love feeling like he's locked in to what people are talking about in football today.
and he's breaking it down.
At the same time,
I don't know that there are three to five people on planet Earth
that could have a comfortable conversation with this man.
He's one of the strangest people.
Think about it, dude.
Is anybody ever talking to him normal?
He's a weirdo.
And you can tell in these games.
He doesn't know how to,
he's like a robot that's kind of shorting out sometimes.
Great analysis.
Zero chance at chemistry.
That's why I think he would work better with like a gym nance.
Probably.
Jim Nance is also.
But this can be fun sometimes too where he's just,
Brady's saying weird.
So laughing at times he really shouldn't be.
It's quite fun.
This is when they saw the knee hit.
Yeah, shot of the left knee.
It's a great catch by Brown.
Oh, I don't know.
Boy, Dean, that looks like a touchdown to me.
One knee equals two feet.
Exactly.
Great minds think alike.
Dean, you're out of the jinks.
You owe me a Coke.
You owe me a Coke.
up.
Okay.
DB and TB, Vibin.
I wanted to give points to DB for putting himself in league with Tom Brady.
Because all KB and everyone else wants to do is lap him up.
Yes.
That was so funny when you said that.
That was so funny when you said that.
Major League, I've heard of that movie too.
I bet everyone else is dying laughing.
Whereas Blanino's like, I just see a couple goats.
I see me.
It's just creating this really soft spot where Dak could take three hits.
and just fire a little strike Nolan Ryan style right there to when Pickens goes out.
Just throw it with the CD Lamb.
We got two number ones.
I like the baseball reference earlier.
Nice job.
He's one of my favorites.
Nolan Ryan, he could just bring the heat.
Oh, is that what he did?
Wow, TB, I really love that obscure reference.
Who?
Dude.
No, what are you?
You must be an insider.
I can't believe it.
Real fan.
Not just football with this guy.
You've heard of Nolan Ryan?
Is Tom Brady aware that Kevin Burckhardt does the baseball?
studio through the postseason.
In that moment, no.
In that moment, no.
Let me tell you something.
We have a real weapon on our kickoffs, boys.
And I'm not going to sit here and tell you,
I think our show has anything to do with it,
but I had NFL pro go through a bunch of kickoffs yesterday,
and there's really only one guy doing it to this degree.
Well, I was going to mention his incredibly long field goal,
but before all of that, we must mention the play
His air conditioner?
Yeah, he got his air conditioning unit at Community Mechanical, CommunityDFW.com.
Brandon was one of the many people who is called up 469-667-7-290.
And it is a tale as oldest time.
Certainly they have the PM, right, the preventive maintenance.
But the tail as oldest time is the, hey, I had my other company come out here.
And boy, they said it's going to be like a whole new.
like $14,000 replacement for the whole thing.
And I don't know, just have you guys come out just to kind of see second opinion.
And they'll be like, yeah, no, how about we fix it for $100?
It's still running today.
That was like two years ago, right?
Yeah.
So, I don't know.
Because Brandon's family's idea, he was just kicking balls at his AC unit.
He was just standing there kicking footballs at it over and over.
And they were like, what if we just put this net in front of it?
See?
That's how smart they are.
Community Mechanical.
CommunityDFW.com.
Hit them up today.
You can call or text Travis anytime at 469, 66777290, CommunityDFW.com.
So what your other research project was?
I mean, look, it's the beginning of the season,
but we've now got three or four muffed kicks.
Nobody else is doing that.
Nobody else has more than one.
Because him putting a little spin on it,
Doing a little.
He's doing a lot.
Now,
one of them did not go as planned as we know.
This is the thing.
Yeah.
And you saw, was it,
was it in this game or was it might have been in the Titans Eagles game.
One of both teams at a kicker they didn't trust and they were just like,
kick it out of the back of the end zone.
We're just going to take 35.
And,
yeah,
the risk is it could go out of bounds.
It could go short of the landing zone.
like the open one did, but he has two or three in there that,
I mean, basically every kickoff they fielded looked uncomfortable.
Jalen Lane was in hell.
It looks cool.
It looks really cool.
And I mean, that is, that's, you start talking about like EPA and stuff like that.
I mean, Parcells would just say hidden yardage, but that's what that is.
The difference between starting there, I mean, it's like a sack.
Yeah.
No, he's good.
He is pretty good.
I'm looking forward to talking to him about the 60-yard field goal also because was it just me or did it kind of feel like you could tell that he did not, like he consciously said, I'm not putting my all into this.
Like it was just a nice smooth kick, but it wasn't like I got to, I got to really kick it.
And I wonder if that would affect him if the, because you saw the replay, it would have been easily good from 70.
Yes.
But if you're out there kicking 70, are you in your head saying, I'm kicking set?
I better give it a little oomph.
Right.
And then do you pull it or do possibly do something?
I don't know.
It just looked incredible.
You guys sit there watching him like in pregame?
Can you feel it or anything or no?
He's not really kicking too far in pregame.
Okay.
He's just loosening up.
Yeah.
But you're right.
I mean, I've said it on the show.
I've watched him the entire time.
And it's smooth, easy.
and then he just gave the high-five to Bangor,
and then I look, and it hits the net.
Pretty high up.
Pretty high up.
Just ridiculous.
It was not sneaking over the crossbar.
No.
Yeah.
Yeah, 60 yards.
He's got seven of him in his career.
It's nothing.
It's incredible.
I would...
What's the next best?
Do we know that?
Yeah, I mean, he has the most, obviously.
It's unavoidable.
I would hope that to the extent that you can,
Can you avoid it, Ted?
But, man, they really set him up on the Fox brought.
KB, more than any broadcaster.
What do you mean?
Well, here's a foregone conclusion.
This guy could make it from the moon.
And really, if he doesn't, it's a giant disappointment and failure.
He's like, he's going to miss.
He missed last week.
Like, why don't we chill out a little bit?
Right.
Like, they, they, it's a lot.
It's the only, really, the only player you can talk like that about it.
I don't believe in the announcer jinks.
No, I don't believe in the jinks at all, of course.
It's more just that you're not really.
providing the listener
or the viewer full context if you're
like, it's an abomination if this
guy misses. I hear you.
He's going to miss. Right.
And there's nuance to it, but
you have to establish
like you said, the kind of weapon that he is
and what he has done.
Yeah, maybe it's just easier to say,
look, this guy's going to make it.
Because usually he will.
Right. Do you guys see
the videos of Barham Pukin?
I saw it live.
Oh, you did?
I saw it when I was watching the game live.
How about you guys?
He's usually the one I'm watching.
I missed it.
Yeah.
Yeah, it was great.
It's double puke.
You guys ever puke in sports and kept going?
I like him.
I like him a lot as far as just, no, I've never puked during sports and kept going.
There's no doubt you have.
Of course.
Side line, but I'd love to, yeah, it freaks people out.
I like him.
I like his attitude is that he is, he seems like he's no, no bits.
He's all business. He's all about football.
What about if I need sunglasses?
I don't think he could, he would tell you to go to a sunglass store.
I'm here to play football.
Interesting.
Brett Maher second on that list with four.
No way.
Another cowboy.
Wow.
Four 60-yarders.
I feel like 40 was more his problem.
Yeah.
The Cowboys have to be number one by a million miles in NFL history.
What if they just had Maher kick longfield goal?
goals and another kicker kick short field goals.
I think they did that.
Yeah.
That's kind of what happened.
Did you guys, did you get to meet Ed Hercules' son?
Um, no.
Have you not talked about this on the air?
I haven't.
Do you not want to?
No, I will.
Yeah, we just got to the stadium later than I wanted to because of stuff, cars, driving car stuff.
But no, I needed tots.
Oh, that's right.
You drove Burline was at a different hotel.
He gets to go to the Rath meeting.
We did.
We did have to wait 15 minutes for Berline's coffee.
He said 30.
I was trying to be nice.
Well, Berline admitted it.
Again, coffee spot near his hotel downtown Dallas.
He puts in the order, he says, a certain time.
It didn't come out, but 30 minutes later.
And so Blake's in the car waiting.
The valet guys like looking like, I, he's right there.
I mean, I'm not there.
I'm hearing all this second hand.
I heard it from Burline, heard it from Blake.
So the I'm going to be there at ice latte.
X time, I'm going to be there at noon to pick you up,
but then you actually leave at 1230.
He said, yeah, he said he put his order in at that time,
and it took a while to come out.
Dude, I do not trust place order pickup at this time.
I don't.
No.
It's bombed on me so many times.
I only place order and pick up ASAP.
Back time it.
Place your order when you're ready to go.
They're never going to see it.
It's a game saying like I'm here, make the order when you're six or seven minutes away.
Anyway, but yeah, so there's a 90-minute broadcast meeting before the game where TV and the referee will get together.
Here's how many breaks were taken.
Here are my signals.
Here's our extras.
Just all of the broadcast nuances.
And there's not really a reason for me to be in there, but I like being in there.
Sure.
And so I get to see what the referees like and his personality and all the, you know, the back judge.
You know, everyone is in there, all the refs and all the TV people.
And so it's cool just being in there.
But I always make it a point to go shake the referee's hand and say good luck.
I don't.
Good luck.
Yeah.
He's got a lot of weight on his shoulders.
I will say this, though, because.
He's never got a home game.
No one's rooting for him.
No, no one says thank you to him.
Yeah.
But since going to these.
meetings and I have a, I can hear everything that the ref says on or off the air,
uh, because of my setup.
And Sean Hoculie is the worst referee, I think we've encountered it in some time.
He, on penalty calls, on one of the penalty calls, he says, here's the penalty, we're going
to ask Dallas what they want to do.
Did you guys catch that?
No.
Because it was one of the announcements to the crowd.
This was not off air.
And, you know, me.
And of course, Steve and I have to check on that.
That's kind of important.
Are you supposed to check before you?
Typically.
They always do.
Talk to the audience.
Yeah.
In that position.
Like, oh, well, I mean, this is the call.
Now, hang on.
Do you guys want to accept that?
Yeah, right.
Seventy-three.
We're going to ask if they want to accept.
Yeah, I guess I've never heard that.
A word from Fandul.
Yeah.
But, like, he would just turn his mic on at random times.
And I don't know, he's, uh, he's room for improvement.
Maybe play drops.
Maybe, maybe more.
Preacher curls.
Ooh.
His dad had the big biceps.
Is it break time?
It's an ender.
I think he...
And if you can't recognize Lee Corso's contribution to college football, you're just a big jerk.
38 years, his final college game day earlier today in Columbus.
As he said, he had to go with his first love.
He put on Brutus for the first time and...
the last time and he nailed the pick in all better than 66% with those headgear picks through the years.
Man, what an awesome morning it was.
You're listening to The Dumb Zone.
Before we comment on that, we already promoted we have Friday, APLE, Connie Roso and Carrollton.
How about next Friday?
It'll be our first ever Houston show.
Wow.
Wow.
Wow, indeed.
No puppet.
Eighth Wonder Brewery and Cannabis.
Oh, let's go.
They do THC drinks.
They do.
Howdy THC.
So we'll be down there next Friday.
That is SmackDown Town.
Houston Way.
Got to get Landry on.
Indeed.
Oh, yeah.
Have him come over.
Because that is the weekend the Cowboys will be playing in Houston.
Who do the Texans have this week?
I am not sure.
They're O-N-2.
They are O-N-2.
The Colts.
Are you working in bits on your national Cowboys broadcasts?
I fit one in yesterday in the post-game.
Okay.
I don't have the audio.
I'm sorry to promise something.
I don't know if it's even worth playing,
but yes, I did give a nod to you guys.
Are you guys trying to just...
We're trying to outbid each other every turn, basically.
And bouncing it off Burline, which is always the best.
The clip that you just played was a game on ESPN.
The guy obviously had no clue, but with Burline, you work with him every week.
You just wonder, what is the line?
Does the line exist?
I mean, if I can get steak and snickers past him,
Yeah, that was great.
He doesn't realize that's a Burline, like we're mentioning something you do, dude,
because he thinks that's just a common, like he's every man.
Everybody stops down for a treat.
It's a normal combination, peanut butter and jelly.
Oh, yesterday, yeah, you worked in hot dog fridge.
Yes.
Nice.
I was wondering about, it's because I heard that, like, Deshaw.
John Watson had average of like three air yards per attempt.
And I was wondering where Dax are.
Because Dack will fire it down the field, man.
Yeah, he's got one of the best deep balls, I would say, in the game.
It has for some time.
The, if you, the, was it C.D?
That whole shot in the cover, I mean, you're not throwing that ball.
Is that the one he called the Piss Missile?
I think so, yeah.
Yes.
That takes so much trust and so much confidence.
That is a no-no throw, but no problem.
I cut a lot of audio.
I didn't cut piss missile.
Oh, no.
I'm sorry.
I hope you know where it is.
Dak also wears, I was like, why is he wearing Darth Vader on his shirt?
And then I remember, doesn't it look like that?
Have you seen that patch?
Yeah, they've been doing it for years.
Yes.
Well, that's the Walter.
Peyton Man of the Year thing.
That's right.
So we just get to wear it for the rest of our lives.
Yes, you won the award.
You get to wear that.
That's silly.
Does he, do you get to wear MVP?
Your whole light?
Like, do you just wear a sash?
You win the Masters once.
You get to go playing it every year.
That's a good point.
You get to wear the green jacket.
I would love to see someone test this limit.
You know, what could you do that they're like, we're going to have to have the patchback.
Like, you know, Greg Olson has one.
did a remix to third leg, Greg? I don't know.
Wait, Greg Olson doesn't have an NFL man in the year, does he?
Almost positive.
He was a Walter Payton NFL man of the year? Well, let me check right here because I am looking
at that list.
Looks like a no.
Multi-time finalist. He finished as the runner-up several times. Never won the overall honor.
Wow.
This feels like it's probably good if you're a quarterback and people know your name.
No, no.
Look at this list.
He finished behind JJ Watt in 2017.
2016, Eli Manning and Larry Fitzgerald were co-winners.
Come on, get that out of here.
You can't split the Walter Payton Man of the Year award.
Now, you've got the list, Dan, but I've always thought of this as a big man award.
Dan Marino, Troy Aikman, Boomer Ossiessen.
But go to the last like 15 years.
It's the guys that I thought of.
J.J. Watt, Andrew Whitworth.
Chris Long.
Yeah, as far as big man.
Cameron Hayward.
But you're going to mix in Bobby Wagner,
Dak, Eli Manning.
Jason went and won it.
Of course he did.
Kurt Warner.
God, I can't believe they gave it to Ray Rice.
Yeah.
It was after the whole thing, too, right?
Just because of how well he handled it.
Still married.
How humble he was.
He is still married.
That always justifies it.
I think.
What else did I have?
Oh.
So, you know, later in the game, once it started to become a blowout, they're like,
Von Miller, ah, there's Von Miller.
That's the guy they signed.
He almost got a sack right, but then it was a penalty, something like that.
I think he's a Walter Payton Award winner, too.
No.
You are joking, right?
Because Von Miller, yes.
But the way they talked about him.
I thought he did a lot of stuff off the field to help people.
Help them up after he
Doe.
Geez.
Anyway, so they're going nuts about Von Miller, as we all do.
And they're not mentioning his Kempspin as nobody does, except one friend of mine.
But they were talking about like number 40.
Everybody's going to love this story, right?
Number 40, hey, I guess this guy, you know, everybody's looking at this going,
oh my gosh, Hunter Lipkees, 30.
So number one, that was a funny quote, right?
Yeah.
It felt like it was a broadcast for one, me.
No, 100 Lipke.
I shared the story, too, with Burline, who had no idea and he loved it.
Oh, wow.
Well, steak and the chicken bill.
I've never heard of that.
Boy, who negotiated that for Lipke?
The phone lines are lighting up at Fox headquarters after we showed you the first run.
run by Hunter Lifke, wondering how did he get number 30?
Anyway, so now we do the story.
He owns part of a chicken company.
I'm not sure what the percentages would like to know.
But I knew he was on Washington last year.
He's like, wait, what number, he didn't wear number 30 or 40.
Yeah.
Quentin Moore, their tight end wore number 40.
Why was this not a thing?
Did he not go to Quentin Moore?
How come I haven't heard the story about how Quentin Moore said no,
because this is the age my father was when he died,
or this is something that Quentin Moore,
did he just not even ask him for it?
And then now he has eight sacks again,
and he's like, oh, you know what?
I guess I can go to asking for numbers these days.
When he was joining Washington,
it was like tail between legs, is he washed up?
He said he was wearing 24 for Kobe last year.
No, uh.
Yes.
Yes.
Why are you laughing?
And then he came here and he's like,
Well, it's already retired by the Mavs.
Why do I need to do that here in Dallas?
It's curious.
It is.
And you kind of just have to go with the whims of the star athlete here
and what they say is important when.
Because, I mean, yeah, tail tucked,
but he thought he was picking a Super Bowl team last year.
He was down to the Seahawks or commanders legitimately.
Yeah.
It's a lifelong dream to play for the Cowboys.
He wanted his number.
This jersey will go up in his house forever.
He wanted 40.
There's a guy on cowboy payroll.
Now,
a cowboy flight who sees on Miller.
Again, the more curious part is it's trying to get him to play dominoes with me.
Not the number he won a Super Bowl in.
He didn't?
No.
It's not even the number he wore in Denver?
It's insane.
Well, he probably won a natty in it then.
No?
No.
In 1907.
They may have put, yeah, they may have put a black cone for it.
I'm not sure.
All right.
Let me play you some audio.
I didn't get pissed missile, sorry.
I'm trying.
I somehow missed it.
But I did think it was funny because Brady has something to say about just about everything.
And especially they'll throw it to the studio for like a game break and, oh, look, Green Bay won or what.
And he'll say, whoa, that was something.
Yeah, C.T. Carissa.
Except for they had a Vegas big play.
And then what's his name?
Broheart was like, oh, wow.
Oh, Las Vegas.
Uh-huh.
Two and O.
Nothing.
Wow.
Crickets.
Wow.
Like, he's like, I'm not going to act like I'm happy about that play or that I care
at all about that play.
And that's weird in its own right, you know?
Right.
That's what I'm saying.
Why?
Why wouldn't there just be rules that he can't be involved in ownership?
I guess, but you're Tom Brady, so we're going to break the rule for you?
Well, they're letting, they're letting Akeman do stuff now.
Because of Tom Brady, open the door.
Sure.
Right.
Anyway.
I heard a lot of teams are beating down the door for Romo's services.
He's so in touch with the game right now.
Well, the funny thing is, okay, so this cut I want to play you,
it makes me think, well, how does Romo frame it?
Tom Brady's watching football, and this is what is always in Tom Brady's head.
Costly penalty.
Jumping into the neutral zone.
Dach knows that he's got the free play.
Omanahue.
And then, back's thinking, no risk, throw it up there, see if my own mice and go up and make the catch.
With smart football.
Yeah.
I like seeing smart football from quarterback.
You know, I say that all the time.
I've known that about you.
You do enjoy that.
I get a little irritated at times up here.
I just gauge my own style of quarterbacking.
But I'm seeing it early from Dak today, playing very smart, finding the open guys.
Like, he's always annoyed.
he hates watching every quarterback.
If he hates watching
quarterbacks who aren't as good as him,
he's probably going to be pissed in all of these games.
Yeah.
He's Tom Brady.
But I'm going to, it doesn't matter.
I'm going to keep going.
Dak plays a lot like Tom Brady did.
And he's not the most athletic, even now.
Oh, he's pointing out that that's what I'm saying is that's,
the thing Dak has is the command.
Like mentally he's fully on top of things.
So, yeah, a lot of the guys,
especially today when you watch them,
I'm not saying they're not brilliant dudes,
but they're not having to do what Brady did
because they're a lot more athletic.
So the scheme answers that you need
become a lot easier for Jaden Daniels and Josh Allen
than they ever were for Tom Brady.
Here he's showing that he's just like you.
He's just like us when he's looking at the Jaden Daniels injury.
It's stepped on the right.
guard foot i think comes over was at his center allegrety oh shit oh no excuse me was not expecting to see that
oh man yeah yeah i'm with him i don't i'm almost kind of surprised they showed it as many times as they did
yeah elbows don't dislocate calmly it looks it looks crazy how it was yeah right
It looked insane.
So this is right after halftime.
They go down to EA.
Well, Kevin, when Jaden Daniels went down, Dallas head coach Brian Schottenheimer was right there.
He actually took some time coming over to me.
You know how other coaches are like, I got to get to the locker room.
Hey, can I, can you hold here for 30 more sec?
I can't.
Brian Schottenheimer has enough.
Well, let me go look for EA.
Let me go.
I got to go talk to her.
but it was to see if
I think it was a competitive thing
to see if he was injured
and she knew how injured he was.
But I liked hearing that.
Then this is funny
when they're talking about Christian Parker
at the end of the game.
There's Christian Parker, right?
Gets hired for this job, 34 years old.
He was the ninth
in last interview.
In fact, Brian Sean Harper said
I wasn't even going to interview him
that I did and I was blown away.
Boy, this fish story keeps getting bigger, doesn't it, though?
Oh, yeah.
Actually, I...
He was actually, he was out front of the facility
peering in.
Yeah.
Like 34th Street Christmas.
Just, please, sir, can I have a defensive coordinator?
Just one.
Brian Sean Harper said, I wasn't even going to interview him that I did and I was blown away
and he reminded me of myself.
Yeah, that's a good thing to do when you're head coach and you are doing some interviews and
you see a young, really intelligent, very articulate, young coach that is very poised.
Even if you did think that, you can't publicize it.
Like, what if you're like, you know why?
You know why I love Blake?
He has to.
He's awesome.
He reminds me of me.
He has to do it because he's an Instagram account that is sentient.
He is a human Instagram account.
Because, yeah, you could go eat, but you didn't go eat unless you told everyone on Instagram about it.
So he hired Christian Parker, which is awesome.
and I really want us to all appreciate.
Why is it awesome?
Because he's exactly like me.
Who's awesome?
Look at me.
Sometimes.
Swimming it.
Swimming me.
And I'm sure this is ironic,
but sometimes a person can be so self-unaware
that it can actually work to their benefit.
He thinks he's one of the guys.
And because of that, he's like,
I just need to surround myself with other dogs like me.
Just guys who...
Kick-ass bros.
Bootstrapped this whole thing from the bottom, just like I did.
I'll go find the other guys who worked as hard as I did.
He thinks that he did that.
Okay, you guys now have ruined a word by claiming that I have ruined a word for you.
I don't know.
Let's hear it.
So I was watching the commercials, watching this game live.
That is the most shocking development of the 2026 NFL season.
Live enough to what you're having to watch commercials.
That's right.
And so now I'm
Locked in.
I'm locked in.
And like I said, I don't feel like I've ruined this word, but now you guys saying that I've ruined this word has now made me think of it and it's ruined for me.
But it's a truck commercial.
How does this happen?
There's DNA.
Then there's heavy duty DNA.
HDNA.A.
Oh, yeah, bro.
I would love to give you some of my HDN.
Because it's heavy duty.
I want truck month to be over.
Been taking zinc.
Now, unless you have piss missile, I have something to finish with.
I think I have it.
It might not be the most, it might not be the cleanest cut in the world,
but we're going to give it a go.
Dak Prescott having a great day.
Three tests out soon at 20 yards, 2429 on the second and long here.
Rifles won't see.
Like even hearing Brady there is awesome.
Yeah.
Absolute piss missile up the side.
Awesome.
How did I make in cover two?
And CD settles in that hole.
Martin can't get over there on time.
But you know, we used to talk when Bob was like learning coverage, the honey hole,
that there's somebody coming down, the corner's floating back.
There is a very small amount of space that you can fit that ball.
And there's a good chance you're going to get your receiver's head taken off.
if you don't locate that perfectly.
So that's like why Brady's like,
oh,
whoa,
you don't even try that.
Tried that.
Absolute piss missile up to sideline.
Samer's still stinking.
That's great.
I'm going to get Burline to say that.
Man,
that will be our mission this year.
In his lexicon,
man.
There's no doubt.
That's an old,
that's Brady,
I feel like is an old soul.
Like,
you're never going to hear him trying to be cool.
But now we have a guy who is so cool.
next to him is Kevin Brohard.
Yep.
And they didn't used to do this on the broadcast.
But...
It's like a pandemic, dude.
He starts calling people by their initials,
and then all of a sudden they start calling him by their initials,
and then everybody's doing it.
And we're all so familiar with each other,
and it happened so often throughout the game,
I wanted to just play you a montage of some of the times it happened.
We go downstairs to E.R.
All of the Miss Q's...
in game one were fixable.
They were communication like TB is set.
Yeah, well, it's a lot of things, KB.
It's not just bringing in new players.
Well, KB, in his first full game in nine months.
As TB said, Ricky Vaughn, outside.
A little high, hard one.
The Packers come back and get that first win of the year.
KB.
That first got you.
Looking at the pictures on the iPad and wait until TV shows you
what happened on that last play.
I just see, even after the tackle, KB,
all the swarming, guys are excited.
But just a very, very difficult scene here.
and very quiet set of players exiting that locker room, KB.
Yeah, I felt like these happened three weeks ago, as you alluded to KB.
We go downstairs to EA.
Just wanted to see this defense bounce back, have a little bite to them.
They certainly have TB.
Sure have, EA.
Great report.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Oh, yeah.
So after the game, I guess DAC had tied, what is it,
20 straight wins against the division at home.
Okay.
Very kind of minutious stat.
So they showed on one half of the screen,
Tom Brady on the other half, DAC,
because those are the two quarterbacks that have done it.
Okay.
And so while they're showing Tom Brady on the screen,
it's right after their broadcast.
So Brady's like about to take the headset off.
And then KB comes into the picture doing this, like,
my man.
And then they do this little bro hug,
like great broadcast, bro.
We killed it.
Why don't you all do that?
Because we're professionals.
Because we don't kill it.
Those guys are feeling it.
Because we're not 11.
They're feeling it.
Yeah.
did they have a tunnel, the parent tunnel or whatever?
Dan, I have an answer to your DAC Air Yards question.
He's about dead average.
Okay.
He's about in the middle.
Just in general?
Yeah, I went like 2021 to 2025.
I guess I was even thinking of just yesterday because it just felt like he was airing it out yesterday.
Yeah, I could get that.
But he's, it's interesting.
The more of these stats you look up, the more you find,
there's nothing really that jumps out about the way the Cowboys have done anything
offensively at all, really during his entire career.
And I was just why I say that because I was watching that Brown's game too,
obviously.
And that's all they do is this little screen.
Yeah.
Like they're like, oh man, look at his numbers.
He's 22 for 20.
Yeah.
Well, he throws it right there almost every time.
It's insane.
Anyway, today's news is going to be brought to us by Qualis Roofing.
They've got drones.
They're pretty famous for that.
They're also pretty famous for just handling everything for you.
Once you get a free roof inspection from QualusGC.com, which I did, and they were like, oh, yeah,
once the last, we hadn't had a roof inspection in many years, as a matter of fact, and there's plenty of damage up there.
and they said, well, we'll contact the insurance company for you and deal with it all.
They did.
They took the phone calls.
They dealt with everything.
We ended up paying the deductible, and that was it.
So they're our oldest advertiser.
The foundation.
They are the foundation, but they're the roof.
QualusGC.com and 817-50908.
When you need a roof on your home.
They're the ones with the drone.
Put a roof on the mother, put a roof on air.
Quietly's GZ.com.
Here's Jake with the dumb zone news.

The other day
And it's all too familiar
with situations that I lived through.
All right.
16-year-old sophomore carried a 14-year-old victim
from the school's weight room into the boys' varsity locker room.
15-year-old sophomore dragged him further into the locker room.
I just want to note here, you're getting bullied by sophomores.
It's not good already.
From there, a 17-year-old boy allegedly dragged the screaming victim
by the ankles into a dark shower area.
There, a second 17-year-old boy and another boy, who the victim couldn't see, pulled off the victim's shirt and shorts and attempted to remove his underwear.
While the victim was being held down, the 17-year-old boy allegedly pulled down his own pants and underwear and set on the victim's chest.
This happened to you at Richland?
Yes.
This was, it's called a birthday, and you were lucky if they sat on your chest.
They're not sitting on your chest.
They're putting their ass and chest.
cheeks right on your face.
And typically, it was a guy named, in my case, he was an offensive lineman.
His name was bear.
So a big ass.
Yeah, they weren't fined in the kicker.
Now, I got birthdays on more than just my birthday because I caused a lot of problems, as you might expect.
But everyone else on your birthday, you just had to take it.
And we liked it.
Yeah, I don't, I never get it.
You didn't like it.
You thought it sucked.
And you only did it because somebody in the past, some weirdo and, you know, latent homosexual in the past did that.
Why is it always got to be with the weaner?
Or the butt hole.
And the sorories were talking about this the other night.
And it is just, this is the age where all you care about, hey, what's in your pants?
maybe I can slap you in the dick
or finger you in the vagina
this is all I'm worried about
as a 14 year old boy
punching my friend in the balls
and trying to get chicks
though everything is about
your pants at this point
hazing is not going to be carrying my pads
I bet you didn't have hazing
pay for the dinner
dude no go ahead the kid left
actually sued the school and then left
I have this for today and Twitter
one day this week
a I think it was an
SEC fraternity's scavenger hunt list for their hazing leaked. It's the most disgusting
beyond the pale stuff you can imagine. It's like whether it's have sex with a meth head or like drink
this gallon of piss. It's just whatever. But in this case it was we're going to sit on you naked.
And I'll have you know that while I received many of these ritualistic treatments because I would not learn my lesson,
me and really no one that I remember in my class, we didn't do this.
Now, it's also probably why we got the shit kicked out of us.
The team before us, pretty good.
Team after?
Pretty good.
You know what they did?
A lot of hazing.
The stoner class came through and was like, I don't know, we're playing football.
We have to be assholes, man.
That's how you go one and nine.
I feel like you need to beat on each other.
I have another sports story.
This one out of San Angelo, TLCA,
I'm going to say that's a community college.
San Angelo head football coach was arrested Thursday morning
for his role in the football program's push-up scandal
that sent 20 students to the high school.
hospital.
Boy, that was...
What year?
It's the high school.
Okay.
Texas Leadership Charter Academy in San Angelo.
The incidents actually happened earlier this year.
Oh, I'm thinking of the story from when we first started doing the hang zone.
I remember a thing out in Rockwall or somewhere.
Were they developed like myocarditis or something where you could...
It was all push-ups, right?
Yeah, we had a mom on.
I'm pretty sure we had a mom of a kid who had to go to the hospital.
We should have had Herschel for a counterpoint.
I would do 500 every night.
Counterpoint from Herschel just in general.
Yeah.
I mean, even beyond his specific area of expertise, push-ups.
Yeah, so this is like when they're doing,
they basically just made him go without stopping.
Like, you're not getting up until you do 420 push-ups.
So you don't get water, you don't get break, like you're staying here.
The next day, many of the students returned to school
and agony, unable to raise their arms to eat, brush their teeth, or dress themselves.
But despite this, the coaches required them to do push-ups for two more days.
It's called rabdo myelis.
Yeah.
It's like the CrossFit stuff, you know, when that was taking off and you'd hear about
rabdo.
These two coaches, Dan, are each facing two-year jail sentences if convicted.
Can you imagine, dude?
Kind of softens him up for a birthday, then.
No doubt.
You've got a different kind of birthday in there.
If nothing else, that's what Hazing does for.
He prepares you for the clink.
And Ethan Couch walks among us.
Bingo.
Big time, bingo.
We had a kidnapping,
thwarted in Irving last week.
We have new documents that detail what happened.
The 29-year-old man
trying to attack a female victim
on a walking trail at Shady Grove Park.
She had squatted down to tie her shoe
and the man ran up behind her.
What?
Rammed up.
Ran up behind her and did what?
Grabbed her hand.
Helping her up.
And said, if you move her screen, I'll stab you.
Turn around.
She said she noticed him reaching toward his pocket,
believed he was pulling out a knife.
Okay, based on context clues.
That's a good assumption.
So the hand that he had grabbed,
she squeezed harder,
brings it in,
and bites him there and on the collarbone
and the chest area.
And he released her.
Damn.
And said you've been juiced.
We're calling that a botched kidnapping.
That feels like a stretch.
What do you think the guy was trying to do?
Give her a good deal on a direct TV?
He had a knife.
He waited until she bent down at a park.
He's a 29-year-old guy.
She's a lady.
He grabs her, has the knife, and says,
don't scream or I'll kill you.
But we're now...
That's into kidnapping.
Maybe he was just going to rob her.
He could have been just going to rob her.
Well, you said females...
It takes stabbing a little easier than men do, so maybe that's not that bad.
That's also true, but also doesn't make it not a kidnap.
I mean, it's probably like you're thinking rape, right?
Robbery. What are you going to...
It just feels like kidnapping, though.
I don't know.
That's a stretch.
Very presumptuous.
I feel like...
I feel like saying the juice did kidnapping is a stretch.
The juice was like, why don't we all stay in this hotel room until we figure this out?
Yes, we have zip ties.
This lady...
She thwarted.
You're denying her thwarted.
She thwarted at least mischief.
But what were his motives beyond after the knife?
Literally only a man could come away with that.
I'm just saying, are you as an attorney?
Oh, also, he was a plot to kill the governor.
Probably.
I mean, it probably was.
I mean, he had a knife.
That is very much his attorney.
Yes.
No, he was just.
Your honor.
Boy, God, I would love to see.
Dan in court.
For a guy.
I've been there, man.
Dan giving, well, yes, you have, but in a different position, giving, you know, the closing
argument, you know, very demonstrative.
No, he would be the-pounding the table.
He's the man's attorney.
That's how he would have to bill himself.
It's like, are you getting railroaded at work?
Yes.
I call man, man, McDowell.
Even a lady who gets railroaded.
I'm the one who loves the morning show with Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon.
God, talk about compensating.
Girl Dad.
No, that's like...
Totally.
I refused to have...
What was that?
We had a...
Blake Lively guy.
You can guess which one.
Oh, right.
We assigned her...
Like, we just made our kids girls at birth.
That's actually...
Isn't that in a documentary?
Pretty unwoke.
Have you seen a documentary about that?
About babies?
We have too many documentaries.
Yeah.
That's a great one.
That's a great one.
Good point.
I don't mind if they
comport themselves properly.
like the documentary he was mentioning.
What?
Mr. T.
Ever, you got an hour to teach me about something, that's good.
What we don't need is six episodes of chimp love that should have been two.
That's more...
Speaking of documentaries, I know there's one about the cave boys in Thailand.
I should watch that.
I'd be interested.
Are they like 80 now?
No, but we had a situation out in West Texas where a...
Juvenile was trapped in a collapsed cave.
This is out near Lubbock.
Do you want to talk about my number one?
Definitely as a kid.
So it wasn't juvenile.
No, juvenile to my knowledge, is thriving.
Absolutely thriving.
There's a sketch for you.
Yes.
I'm stuck in a cave, huh?
Elon called the rescue a pedophile, huh?
Being stuck in a cave, large boulder had collapsed why the boy was.
was near the cave.
So now they have to try to break down the boulder while he's in there.
They don't even say how old the kid was, but it has very much kid in a well vibes.
It was at night.
I'm not fucking with caves, man.
They didn't really have that, or did they have that out where you, I mean, I bet out in Methland.
They got caves of plenty.
You ever do?
Because we would go to like Carlsbad Cavern.
No, I think caves are out here.
We didn't have caves growing up.
They're not messing with stalactites and stalagmites.
We did it.
I went to a Mexico Caves.
Yeah. Pretty awesome.
Yeah.
In the hill country, you can see pretty cool cave-like things.
If you're into that, I am not.
That belongs on the list of...
I thought I was going to be in a cave like half the time.
Nice and cool, though.
As a kid.
Fuck that, no way.
When you're in Texas, you go in a cave?
That's not the kind of cool you want.
That's bat cool.
You feel that cool.
There are bats.
I want nothing to do with that either.
Speaking of...
Have we talked recently about using the paddles to bring someone back to life?
being on the list of things from you were a kid.
That's a great one.
I had to drop my daughter at a different place today,
and we drove by the cemetery where my grandparents are.
And she asks about them a lot,
and I was like, oh, it's where Chappie's parents are.
And she's like, if we shocked them, would they come back to life?
Nice.
Yeah, no.
Let's see.
We're well past that point.
Let's get a shovel and find out.
We are.
Well past that point, my friend.
And then one more here.
The U.S. Coast Guard is investigating a cyber attack targeting an oil supertanker that was headed to Galveston earlier this month.
I don't know why I said that like that.
So this is straight up out of one of Blake's video games.
A team of Coast Guard and FBI officials had to board this Gulf tanker after learning that the South Korean managed vessel had been taken over by hackers.
Oh, yes.
So the people on the ship are like that.
like no longer in control of the ship.
They're trying to get to Galveston,
but hackers from Iran had taken control
of the tankers' navigation and propulsion systems
disarmed its communication systems
for over 30 hours.
So there's just a ship out there that we can't,
we don't know.
So did someone on the ship?
So the USA is like, we've got to go to the ship.
Did someone on the ship answer like an email they shouldn't have?
They accepted the party invitation.
And all of a sudden, yeah.
They went to Punch Bowl.
Yeah, yeah.
The dumbs don't news.
I'm still getting those.
Like and subscribe.
That was a good news.
Not just to you.
Thank you.
Somebody else must have been.
Jared sent me a text.
Hey, if you get one, it's not for me.
I think it started with Dominic Robinson.
Big weekend for Deuce.
They, uh, of course.
were unable to pull off the win, but he played very well.
That's all we're worried about.
I'm tracking him.
Wins are not a tight-end stat.
Right?
The way the game is headed, I feel like a receiver like Deuce might be back in vogue.
Ponsho.
Oh, hell yeah.
Let's talk about poncho.
Do you wear your poncho yesterday in the booth, Blake?
Not yesterday, but I don't know.
I should have.
I'd have looked a lot better.
And if they had gotten those windows open, he would have been
protected from the sun because it's got UPF 50 in it.
Pancho shirts big at the soccer fields.
I'll tell you that because dads are tired of looking all nasty, sweaty.
You don't have to necessarily iron or dry clean these shirts.
They fit correctly.
They're made for the weird body that you and I, meaning me and you, the listener in general,
have at poncho outdoors.com slash dumb zone.
There's two O's there, P-O-N-C-H-O.
Doors.com slash dumbzone.
Get you 10 bucks off.
Viewer mail birthdays, we have dear Dan the man.
Please wish my bestie since fifth grade, Diana Bruegler.
A happy birthday.
Ah, from the Beast.
Yeah.
Her leader is Jake, but isn't he everyone's?
She'd love to hear Jake's thoughts on the Keller School District
and how to get him and or the Dumbzone boys out to a charity golf tournament that
she's running.
This is a picture of us when Nokia cell phones were meant to be clipped to your jeans from Taryn.
We all love Taryn, folks.
We love Taryn.
I don't know if we'll get the Dumb Zone at the golf tournament that she's putting on.
It is here October 19th.
Is it on stolen land?
What's October 19th?
Is that a weekend?
Monday after Green Bay Stream is on Sunday.
and it is caliber swing to support.com.
Now what are they supporting?
Nobody knows.
Ooh, and I, it looks like somebody who is no longer with us, perhaps.
Anyway, go there.
Go to the website.
And happy birthday to...
You like golf.
Dan Bruegler.
To Diana Bruegler.
Oh.
Good afternoon, Mr. Dan.
920.
was Travis Hockstein's birthday.
If I died tragically, please don't have a golf tournament in my honor.
Oh, buddy.
Oh, it's happening.
We're doing a long drive contest in your honor.
Please don't.
I don't want a $5 mulligan to go to any fund I have named in my...
You'll have to play dominoes at the T-box.
Golf in my honor.
Please.
We're going to do it at an indoor golf sim.
Travis Hawstein's wife certainly did not wake him up in that special way,
but maybe she allowed him to crank hog.
That's enough.
Yeah.
Anyway, I am such a good friend that I introduced him to y'all,
and now he's an annual subby who greatly enjoys this sports comedy podcast.
Wow.
Thanks.
It would probably make his life if Jake would call him a good dude from Connor.
Well, Mr. Hawkestein, you're a good dude.
You're signed up for a year.
There's a very low bar, and that is it.
Greetings, Master of the Munch, Sentinel of the Slit.
I'd like to shout out my brother William Genovese,
who is one slice of a three-subby brotherhood
since it was his Dirk minus Theo Pinson birthday yesterday.
We had a lot of fun with Theo Pinson.
He made the suns mad.
His leaders are the Boeing 777X,
T.C's Oculus phase,
Oklahoma State,
and the 180-degree turnaround on James Winston's public image.
More DZ road trips to Austin,
more T.C, and most importantly,
fuck the Adelson.
Who are they?
Derek Genovese. That's from him.
Yeah.
Yeah, I'm just going to co-sign that.
I'm going to say, great job.
The Jamis thing is interesting.
If you think about Arch Manning,
because we're like, oh, God, what will this do to Arch?
And maybe it's just a different time.
But, I mean, James was as radioactive as it gets.
He was trying to reach around Uber drivers in the Taco line.
He was like...
Wait, what's the arch?
He was screaming in the luncheon.
I just mean like the fact that he thought that was funny.
People are like, how will this tarnage his brand?
You know, if he's viewed as a guy who's, it's like, I don't know, this guy, fast forward 10 years,
they're having him dance around on a Popeye suit on Fox NFL.
Yeah.
I think he'll be all right.
Yeah, he didn't seem to fall in the draft.
No.
Please wish my brother and good dude Luke Hullet happy birthday.
He turned 40 yesterday.
Luke has been celebrating his 40th all year.
He's had two knee surgeries since January
because of basketball and stairs, respectively.
Just the existence of stairs.
I think Luke is hoping I will buy a sit-in to celebrate his milestone birthday,
but I'm holding out to see if my AC unit needs to replace in the near future.
Shout out to Paul with Community Mechanica,
who helped us out on a Saturday this summer.
Nice.
They'll do that.
Heroes include DZPLEs in Denver,
his orthopedic surgeon,
the access to better concert seats and line bypassing that handicapped status buys,
and Blake's annoyance with himself for being a good person.
This is from Amy Adams.
That's very good.
Oh, wow, Amy Adams.
Amy Adams, she says, bonus shout out to our grandfather Bobby,
who turns 98 today.
He has been retired the entire time Luke has been alive
and has outlived two wives.
Congrats.
It's impressive.
That's got, in some way, feel good.
And one more.
You didn't have to divorce them.
They went away thinking good thoughts of you as good as you can.
That's what she would have wanted for me to find another one.
What if he poisoned them, though?
No, but the funny thing is, what she would have wanted is for you to get remarried and then that bitch to die.
Yep.
And then try again.
This time go younger.
And good morning. Better late than never, my husband's 40th birthday is today.
If you can give him a shout out about what a miracle it is that he hasn't lost his mind
between my mental instability and our three strong-willed children.
Y'all seem to be the type to like pictures of yourself.
So here is us at the Beeman's house party this year.
All right, Beemanfolk.
Thanks, bros. Have a wonderful day.
This is from someone named,
Melanie Cobb.
And she sent a picture.
Yeah, we met at their house. That's right.
Her husband wasn't there that day.
The picture of Melanie Cobb and us.
That's great.
I'm looking at it now. Let me look at it again.
Oh, there it is.
Yep.
What Melanie Cobb did not do is indicate her husband's name.
So if you have a wife named Melanie Cobb,
you're turning 40, and it's your birthday,
and you're at the Beeman's house with us.
with us.
Wait, he wasn't at the Beaman's house, right?
I don't think he was.
Maybe he didn't know what his wife was doing.
He keeps getting left out, curiously.
And apparently you seem a little on edge
due to your wife and three kids.
If that's you,
happy birthday.
Yep. Enjoy it.
Happy Vaughn Miller birthday.
I'll tell you what.
If Melanie Cobb was my wife,
I wouldn't let her go to that party alone.
I'd have been there with her.
I know.
She seems great.
She'd want to name drop you.
All right, let's go to
Flooring Direct's DFW presents
On this day in history
This is up next
So yeah
We finally got that fridge
You know it takes my wife a while to decide things
When we have big purchases to make
So we've been working on new floors now for a few months
And it is happening
I guarantee it
They've been great
FlooringDirectDFW.com
slash DZ
all the samples they will bring them to you.
They bring the store direct to you.
Get it?
They're flooring.
Yep.
And then they bring it direct to you.
And then the DFW part means that's what they are.
They are local.
They're not a big chain thing.
And this is like one of their satellites.
No, they are.
DFW.
This is their bit.
And they are here to help you.
So please go to fly.
FlooringDirectDefW.com slash DZ.
Do you have any of the deals in front of you right now?
They got the 0% financing.
Let's see.
You get your whole project for less than $100 a month.
Get 0% free financing for 36 months.
The point is flooring, direct, dfW.com slash DZ,
and they'll walk you through it.
Cheaper than you think to freshen up that home.
Yeah, they're great.
Today in history.
Let's go here.
It's Monday, September 21st on this day in 1915.
Stonehenge was sold at auction.
Actual size or the miniature version?
Actual size.
It was sold to a guy named Cecil Chubb who buys it as a present for his wife.
I'm sorry.
Unreal.
Add it to the, you have too much money list.
How can you buy, what is?
I mean...
Back then, in 1915, you could buy it and sell it.
he however would indian give it from his wife because then he gave it to the british people three years later
the british people he's british and then he donated it to like
i think government should own it is that the australian accent what am i like it
you don't indian giving we can't call anything indian giving anymore
well um probably yeah you you you it's the other way
though, right?
The truth is it's up.
I think that's kind of what the term always, why
started to bother me is I'm like,
we did something about that ourselves.
Like, I think that's, I think we projected the whole thing on them.
The people who invented trading might have had some ideas.
We projected the whole thing on them, though.
They didn't do that.
They would be like, oh, yeah, we're not going to take back what we gave you.
This was a trade that we made.
And then we would say, actually, we're going to change the whole trade that we made.
and we're going to.
I think it probably might have been more that the natives didn't understand trade.
So, like, yeah, I let you have something for a while, and then I'll take it.
Like, I think it was based on misunderstandings between.
Oh.
Just language barrier.
Right.
And so then forever we're like, don't trust these people.
Don't give that blanket back to us.
I really don't want it back.
No way.
It's all you.
I put an apple tag on it to make sure it gets all the way to Oklahoma.
The first ever Monday Night Football game was on this day in 1970
between what team teams?
That's right.
The Jets and the Browns, Browns won 31 to 21.
On this day in 1987, NFL players called a strike,
and it would be a 24-day walkout
and football owners hired replacement players.
Shane Falco.
Is this the year that...
Footsteps Falco.
Matt Kicker won the NFL MVP.
I think it mostly, right?
Yeah.
Damn.
And Blake, on this day in 1998,
CBS premieres a program called The King of Queens.
Hey.
Wow.
What a day.
Starring Kevin James, Leah Rameenie.
Reimini.
Lea Rimmany.
And Jerry Stiller.
Who owes me a date.
One famous birthday on this day in 23rd.
billionaire George Soros
marries
Tamiko Bolton. He's 83.
She is
40.
42.
They're in love.
That doesn't feel as bad, right? Well, 42?
I don't love it.
It's a 40-year age gap.
It's...
Yeah.
But you said after 30,
they're adults. They can make their own decision.
It's fine.
It just feels like 82.
And I'm looking at a photo of them, too.
you know, he just looks so old.
I haven't seen him since he last paid me.
Jake would do it in reverse for the pot 80-year-old.
Tomorrow.
Look out.
This day in September 21st, this day in Dumb Zone history.
In 2022, we had to dump the open, which is always a good start to the show.
Is this because of you?
Yeah.
What'd you put in there?
It took a while for Blake to learn that if you say the J-word,
that way.
No?
Then you can't put it in.
He's like,
what, Kanye said it in a song.
That was a thing for a while.
No, dude.
I left a retard in there.
Yeah.
That can't be in the open?
Doesn't need to be.
That's what I said.
If you say, it's something where if you say it,
you can get away with it.
Oh, you dumped it?
I was probably host.
Yeah.
I mean, you can't,
if it's pre-recorded,
they're not going to be as forgiving as if you just say something.
Like,
having knowledge that,
Okay, you know what I mean?
I guess context is everything, right?
Yes, and the context is you knew that this word was in this audio
and you're not going to be able to give the context and you put it anyways.
Was it funny?
Is this Corby?
I thought it was funny.
Yeah.
It's the hardest I've laughed at the ticket.
Bar none.
Yeah, go for it.
All right.
Yeah, definitely.
2020.
This was the foundation for a lot of future baseball humor.
And I'll tell you why.
Hang zone coming at you.
Because Corby said it and then turned around to say dumping.
Oh, yeah, for sure.
This thing is, it's a quick 10 days.
Fallen apart since he's headed to the IL, which I didn't know was called the IL because disabled list was offensive.
That's underreported.
What?
It's what Dan says.
I didn't know that.
It's true.
One per series.
You go to one game per homestand.
I go to every KG start.
Yeah. Home and away.
He gets traded.
Nice.
It's not like they're calling it the retard list.
Good Lord, get rid of that.
Oh, boy.
Here we go.
Did somebody get that?
That wasn't even a drop.
Some real Jake chimp.
It was a tough day.
The open shots we did have.
Oh.
Trump Carlin.
Oh, that's okay.
We can do that a little bit.
The Campanzi.
Bye.
Hi.
Such a funny announcement to imagine Rob Manfred making.
I know you think we're going one way.
Put him on the...
Actually, to try to keep guys in uniform,
we're going to make him declare for the retard list.
It's just...
It's hilarious.
And then 2021, we were playing some audio of Kishon Johnson.
I don't know why he was talking about Romo,
but he was calling him a diva.
And then we got an email from a piece.
P1 who said Kishon Johnson wouldn't speak to his waiter.
I've heard Kishan's stories before.
And you remember, you may not,
when he did that show with the hardline,
he would do it several of the times
from the building where they did the show,
but he would go up to like 16
and do it from a different studio up there.
He just didn't want to be in the same room.
because I would see him at
whatever, not 39
Maple, out front sometimes.
I'm like,
Ficking.
Hmm.
But he would never, like, actually talk to them.
He had another guy who was like his handler.
He, uh, I think was a pretty,
pretty into himself.
Yeah.
Uh, we started doing the,
but he was a dear friend of mine.
I mean, guys said,
give me the damn ball and titled his autobiography.
You'd never guess.
I thought he was so freaking cool.
So cool, man.
Just the fact that he wasn't wearing an 80.
He was one of the first guys.
He was like, oh, shit.
And he's just teaming up with Crabet.
Let's open him up a little bit.
You especially love that.
Yeah.
I love that Bugs team.
Wayne Crabet.
Derek Brooks, Warren, Work Dunn, Mike Allstott,
Keishon Johnson.
And then Kenney Mark Cardell.
And then Brad Johnson.
Had they just had anyone else?
Well, they briefly had Sean King.
I mean, it was fun.
Well, we were doing a Clemson Minute in 2021,
except Dan doesn't like the Clemson fight song,
so we used the Notre Dame fight song as the music bed.
Okay.
And then last thing, this was after a Cowboys game.
We choose to remember the good of Bones Fossil.
There were some bad, including he had to defend.
They tried to block a punt when it was fourth and 20.
And so that week he had to.
to defend the decision.
Why are you trying to block a punt on 4th and 20?
Did it blow up on them?
They roughed the punter.
They did?
Yeah, the other team got first down.
No, I remember that.
Obviously, the...
It's a good plan.
It's just not execution.
Holiday season.
Going for it?
Going for it?
The fake punt.
Oh, not going for it.
Yes.
A fake punt at your own 20, something like that.
That's where he lost his job.
There's no surprise.
As we look back at some of those stats I was giving you
earlier, bucking the trends on second and one, or bucking the trends on anything,
we had heard from multiple people who covered the team.
Jerry, not a fan, not of Bones as a person, but he's not on board with that.
He does not want a wild-ass special teams coordinator.
He doesn't really want a wild-ass coach.
That's why coaches.
Ben Johnson coached the way they coach.
By his mark is a wild-ass coach currently.
And yeah, he doesn't want any part of it.
that.
He's not hiring David Blow either.
Running double reverse passes.
Right.
Yeah, they should have scored on one of them.
They should have. They should have.
Kellen Moore was kind of an aberration here.
The two-passed one, I was like, oh, this is great.
You're going to throw it again.
We had a great angle. He was wide open.
He was.
Other birthdays today, John Kittna, 54.
I'm pretty sure there's some spins.
His son.
Well, the Sun thing.
Yeah.
Yeah.
But I think he got, he got, he got, he got in trouble as a high school coach.
Doug Davis, 51, former Ranger.
His wife was Stacy Davis.
And I think all the rage back then, he got traded to the Rangers and we were fired up about it because she was like in Maxim and she was all hot and just nuts.
Excellent.
She would call.
Doug Melvin
Like if Doug Davis's use wasn't correct
She would call the GM of the team

Bob Huggins, 73.
I'm pretty sure we got some audio.
Man.
You ever interview him?
Many times.
All right, this is beat.
Quite a few West Virginia games.
Damn it.
Why would this be beeped?
23.
Okay, yeah, we were still at the station.
This is a...
You play something beep.
It's okay.
I know, but it's funnier if it's not.
You realize that would be...
Some things are funnier when they're beeped.
But, yeah, if it's a certain word.
What's there, the Cincinnati?
Is it Cincinnati and Xavier?
Mm-hmm.
Like they have a big...
Big cross-town showdown.
Yeah, yeah.
And so there's some religious...
Steve also tells me that you...
He's calling into the local station here.
You have the best portal transfers.
Have you poached any Xavier guys to come to play for West Virginia?
Catholics don't do that.
No, we're above the fracas.
aren't we? No problem.
Absolutely.
I mean, I tell you what, any school that can throw rubber penises on the floor and then say they didn't do it, my God, they can get away with anything.
So there must have been recent controversy here in the most, I think two years before they had played this rivalry and all hell broke loose.
Penises everywhere.
Instead of saying dildo, rubber penis.
You're not going to hear Bob Hugg and say dildo.
I God, they can get away with anything.
rubber penis.
I think that was at the cross-town shootout.
It was transgender night, wasn't it?
What?
Now, this guy wants to play.
He's with his friend Bob Huggins.
He wants to play.
His friend, his partner, is going to go, what?
My God, they can get away with anything.
Rubber penis.
I think that was at the cross-town shootout.
It was transgender night, wasn't it?
What?
It was a cross-town shootout.
Yeah, no, what it was.
all those fangs, there's Catholic fangs
that's right.
Boy, so he says it the first time,
and he pauses like,
maybe I shouldn't have said that.
No, he forgot to add Catholic.
Yes.
He doubles death.
Wait, he said fag?
Yeah.
He's on the radio.
Do you understand why I said?
Oh, wow.
I wish I had this on beat.
Oh, man.
What it was was all those f f fakes,
there's Catholic fichs.
No way.
Fine.
Yeah.
Now the guy that wanted to play.
We're done playing?
Steve,
your comments about Bob Huggins.
Is he the best?
He's the best.
He's the best.
He's the best.
Oh, Bob.
Wow.
It's like three years ago.
This is not an old clip.
Yes.
I think what it was.
Yeah.
How do we get that music playing
underneath our show?
I love the bass music.
Boom.
Boom.
And I guess.
What's he made in his life?
50 million, 100 million?
Bob Huggins.
Yeah, a lot.
I've made that much money to say whatever I want.
Doesn't matter what medium I'm on.
No, dude, he's not an old journalist where they're like,
oh, I can change you as you.
He's Bob Huggins.
In excess of 40 million.
He's a mid-America college basketball coach.
That's right.
You always have to consider taxes.
Yeah.
In West Virginia, yeah, he has like a castle.
Yeah, I mean, he was a king there.
Yeah.
He got a bigger ovation after this.
Bright. Yeah, they were all thinking it.
And then he was found, stopped in his truck.
He was by police.
A couple times, I think.
He wasn't the coach anymore.
Sleeping?
You're drunk?
Yeah, not in between those two.
Yeah.
In and out.
Somewhere in there.
Darva Conger is 61.
Oh, my God.
Talk about like early Kempspin.
Didn't her...
She was on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?
No, who wants to make.
Who wants to marry a millionaire?
Sorry.
I think she would have been a quick out on who wants to be a millionaire.
But the guy that she was going to marry, didn't he end up fighting on, like, celebrity boxing?
There was some crazy story.
Alfonso Ribeiro is 55 from the Fresh Prince.
Author Stephen King is 79.
He will get a nice birthday present, but I will mention that later.
Okay.
So remember that.
Stephen King, 79.
Bill Murray, 76.
Ethan Cohen, 69 of the brothers.
Also a brother.
Liam Gallagher, 54.
Then they got back together, right?
They sold out.
Yeah.
I'd never do that.
What is that?
That's such a...
I would never sell out for like a $10 million payday.
Absolutely not.
10 is so low there.
Bob, it's great to be back.
Back.
Man, I tell you what.
Bob and Dan, it just feels it just fits like a glove.
If you turn that down, I would be angry at you.
I'd slide you a million.
I know you would.
And then would he be like, only a million?
All I've done for you?
And he gave me one million.
And then after taxes and that bad...
It's really nothing.
It's a slap in the face.
Yeah.
Might as well just piss on you.
Dave Coo-Yea, 67.
What do you know about him?
Full House and some kind of Kempspin.
Evolving somebody young, I'm assuming.
No, but...
He's in a lyric, right?
He did receive pleasure from Alanis Morset in a movie theater.
And she put that in her lyrics, yeah.
She did.
Because everybody would always add, like, who was it?
Oh, that's right.
Who did you go down on the theater?
Right.
Fucking Dave Kouye.
He's like, what?
Dude, Dave Kouillet had sauce.
Are you kidding me?
He was on Full House.

Let me tell you something, buddy.
Uh-oh.
What?
Boy, that was a bad beat in the mid-afternoon.
We've all been there.
Ginny Jones, Ricky Lake.
I did not realize until this morning that she was on your favorite show.
Let me see.
Doug's sister.
Yeah.
Yeah.
She was on King of Queens.
Doug sister.
T.E. teacher.
Luke Wilson, 55.
Nicole Richie is 45.
She was on my favorite show.
The Simple Life with Paris and Nicole.
And our Dumb Zone Burk's own birthday.
birthday of the day. Maybe we'll make it our dumb zone birthday of the year.
Now we know why he's got a haircut and he looks so good today.
Today is the 40th birthday of Lindsay Sterling.
Oh, my goodness.
Damn.
The movement continues.
Boy, I notice that Blake even shaved, I feel like between Saturday night at TCU and our game on Sunday,
and it was all in preparation for Lindsay Sterling's birthday.
Would you divorce your wife today if she walked in here and just said,
I want you to leave with me?
Of course.
You never see your wife or kids again.
Yes, of course.
For Lindsay, anything.
He was so close to being able to pull off the double.
I would do it too.
She's in Brazil.
And then I'd be real mean to her and fix her up with you.
She's in Brazil, October 2nd.
Oh, man.
Imagine if they could send us to the game instead of doing it remotely.
and then you just hang out there
until the show
and you have a meat queue.
Yeah, and we fly back home together.
You're on the Lindsay Starlight Charter now.
If you slash her tires, is that a meat key?
Like if you...
Pull the Jesse Waters.
She doesn't know that you did it.
But later, like, she's like,
oh, man, it was so cute
because he just helped me with my flat tire.
Jesse Waters?
Born on the Stay Now Dead.
H.G. Wells.
Now, he wrote the time.
time machine.
He died in
1946, so I don't know,
he probably wrote it, right?
Around 1900 or something.
Certainly they didn't exist back then,
but if Hot Tubbs did exist,
would he have included it
in his book,
The Time Machine?
Think about it.
Also born on this day now dead,
Larry Hagman,
who was J.R.
On Dallas.
Dead on this day, still dead.
The inventor of the Band-Aid.
Thanks.
Okay.
Earl Dixon.
What if it stuck?
Jim Cotthy?
I don't know how you say it.
He was a Dallas Times Herald reporter.
He's on that list of mysterious deaths surrounding the JFK assassination.
He was killed by a karate shop.
Shut up.
By George Dijon?
That's right.
Do you remember seeing George Dijon get kicked in the scrote?
Yeah.
And how he could control it?
Yeah.
It's crazy.
It was like at a ticket stock or something.
Yeah, he would do it, and he did it, like, for the SMU's football team or something.
What?
It was like mind control.
He could, like, stand and like...
Like the gift that you'll see, right?
The guy that's getting kicked repeatedly.
Right.
He would have, like, he would go...
They would do it at, like, you know, a jujitsu gym or something, and he would do it.
Roto punt him in the nuts.
He'd be like, fine.
And my final dead on the stay still dead in the year 2000.
Brian Smith.
He is the man who ran over Stephen King.
Oh, damn. He gave his misery.
Wow.
But then he died on this day,
giving Stephen King a birthday gift,
like that asshole that ran over me.
Wow.
Better that birthday gift than ball sack on the face.
Yeah.
And that's what happened on this day in history.
According to Jake,
the only real way to gave him.
whether your team will be good or not.
You kind of need some of that.
Special ingredient.
And you know the Cowboys aren't doing that.
No, that's not the sort of dinner, shoddies.
Anyway, we hope when you leave Ted and you head back to your house,
you don't get in a horrible disfiguring accident.
But if you do, could you remember to call Frankel and Frankel?
I'll try.
214 or 817, then you dial all threes.
Tell Fossey, too.
Yeah, thank you.
Just in case, yeah.
Maybe you while you're waiting for that coffee.
Now you're upset and you're driving Burline.
Yeah, we had a whole ass.
Yeah, it's personal injury attorneys.
Frankl and Frankel, it is Franklfirm.com.
But if you get into an accident, you think of their number first.
They're awesome to deal with.
You will talk to a partner when you call that number.
And just remember the Frankles and tell them the dumb zone sent you.
Ted, closing remarks.
So we started with the homeless guy, with the golden voice, and I will leave you with a story of perhaps a homeless person, somebody down on their luck.
We spent a lot of time in Colorado in the summer, very lucky to escape the heat, all that.
Yes, yes.
Okay.
Outside the grocery store, there was one guy who had a sign, and every week he would change the sign as he was asking.
for money. And it was clear that he was up for doing bits because the best sign was
my wife and dog were abducted by aliens need money for spaceship to rescue dog.
Yeah, that's good. That's really good. It's like, you know, buddy, I have a friend. His name is
Blake Jones, and I'd like to introduce you to him. I feel like we have the new homeless guy for you.
him to me.
Yeah.
This is way better.
Last one didn't really have a sense of humor.
Yeah, the last guy's bit was trying to bed you.
Yep.
This one has...
Let's avoid that.
Absolute heater jokes for signs outside of the bar or...
You know, that's the sort of thing you see out of your favorite sports bar.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Leave the wife.
Yeah.
Yeah, the old ball and chain, right?
God.
So where are we this week?
Bozeman, Montana.
Oh.
Home of the defending
FCS National Champions.
You know much about that scene, Dan?
Have you ever heard?
You ever heard about Montana football?
No.
Dude, they are so into it.
I had a buddy.
It's an awesome.
I've done one game up there before.
It's an awesome scene.
This is where Brian, our friend from Qualis,
his kids go there.
And I think they go to,
I had a friend who played their friend I played Flagg with.
And he would, that's when he first told me about it.
I started watching him when they were on TV.
I mean, there's nothing there.
So it's like Lubbock on steroids.
People go insane.
Like their tailgates, their whole crowd scene.
That's cool.
I mean, it is a beautiful part of the country, obviously, the Gallatin Valley.
It's where it's where Faldo is.
Nick Faldo, you know, go to your happy place.
That's his happy place.
I'm ready.
I'm ready.
He has land right there.
You know, everyone does.
Yeah.
When he throws back?
Sunday morning.
So again, DFW, thank goodness.
Americans got a nonstop.
But for a mid-afternoon kick, you know, Cowboys Ravens,
we're doing that game remotely.
We're not going to Rio.
It'll be an interesting setup, right, with the Brad and Babe,
Victor on Spanish radio.
And then Steve and I, Blake,
we are all going to be at the stadium doing the game.
remotely, off the big screen.
So a little radio magic on Sunday.
But yeah, first tune in Saturday night, ESPN2,
a little big sky after dark.
Boy, that's, what's your schedule like then?
Are you...
Midnight flight?
Yeah, fly out Thursday to Bozeman,
coaches meetings Friday, getting ready for the game.
Game Saturday.
First flight out.
Sunday morning, 6 a.m.
We'll get in around 10.30.
Need a ride?
Hope for now.
I'm going to put that on you.
Damn.
I can make it.
I did that the week before.
You already put Berline on them every week.
Because they asked you first, right?
They asked me first.
I don't know.
What if you called him?
I did not say Blake's name.
The guy said,
well, I wonder where Blake lives.
Oh, it's on the way.
Do we have any word on when we'll have a word on Tony
Romo? Do we not know?
Man. Because this feels like this is, this is probably the Nance game, right?
CBS, there's no doubt. Oh, it's going to be Nance and Watt. There's no doubt. Yeah.
I would have to think.
Damn. Yeah. I would be surprised.
We'll hear from Watt and Nance tomorrow on the show.
Okay. Thanks, Ted. Thanks, Ted. Thanks, Dan. Adios. Lofo.
We got to go before this becomes a zoo. See you guys for drinks later.
