So you went out for the coin toss, and so did Micah, and I saw Micah kind of stayed with you a little longer than most. I'm not going to ask you what he said, but, you know, I am. Did you have a pretty good relationship? All right.
Starting point is 00:00:34 Yeah, I mean, I talked to Mike a few times. I would always just kind of ask him about how things are going and he seemed frustrated with the contract situation. I'd just kind of check in and just, he likes to talk. So I like to listen. And he basically all he said to me was go get your money. And I was like, whatever. That sounds like my best. He's kicking balls.
Starting point is 00:00:58 Yeah, we know. He noted very early on that he was a different type of athlete, that he was super, super well-versed on everybody's contract situation. Like across the league. Across the league, his position, others, he knew who was up, he knew what they deserved. So, you know, in hindsight, it's not like terribly surprising this went the way it did, but I was always interested in that now he's the kick. He knows the kicker's free, and then he needs to get paid.
Starting point is 00:01:27 like that's not everybody's like that yeah that's cool uh he loves jake mika does yeah i i heard your your special or your recap on it with the jacket and the spicy pizza yeah he uh he he he recognized me the next year it was just this year felt a little hey remember the pizza boy felt not not the moment for it at camp this year and training camp was stressful time for him he wasn't in the best mood for the most part and for reasons that makes sense to me it's it's his future was so up in the air and there wasn't a lot of clarity for for most of it so it was just a tough situation for him to not be in just kind of a cloudy fog of a mood so give him a pass there he's still a human no matter what you guys think about him and he's he's been through a lot
Starting point is 00:02:24 I know making a lot of money through it, but he went through a lot mentally battling with that contract situation. So I understand he handled it different than most guys would. But there's no real playbook when you're dealing with that. So tough for him to go through that. We were listening to Collinsworth talk about it. It's just kind of sad.
Starting point is 00:02:48 Like, you know, and you move on. He's on a different team. and the Cowboys, as a rock who looked great the other night. Trust me, I could sell myself on anything, but it's just sad. It was just the, I don't know that, but whatever, we move on. And kind of fitting that ended it in a tie, kind of makes it feel like it's going to work out for both sides. That, well, I saw somebody say that right afterwards. It was like, look, this is, this is the trade.
Starting point is 00:03:12 They'll both be fine in different ways, and I can live with that for sure. So my last thing, you said you're not in favor of the USFL. thing the one play offense or one play what about one what about just kicking let's take it out to go to a we'll go to 55 be we'll go to my dream just play pig out there with the field goal kickers off sticks just go to the sidelines say okay I'm gonna I'm gonna hit the right up right here and if you do it the other guys got to do it if not it's pee and the game ends that'd be that'd be fun that honestly lose the crowd but I'd have a blast I don't know I feel like that's easily just as good is the college overtime, where they're running one or two plays, you know, if he's out there
Starting point is 00:03:55 calling his shot? If we get you 10 kicks from the 30-yard line, so that's a 40-yard field goal, and you've got to hit the upright, 10 kicks, how many do you hit? Like, do you do this? I do it from, with my one-steps from about 20 yards away, and in our practice facility, we have the high school uprights right next to or you have the high school uprights and we put a pro post between them so you have like nine feet gap there and I try to put it between them it's only 20 yards and I'm not moving just like a swing your foot while you're stationary I can put it through
Starting point is 00:04:36 there like I'll put it through like four out of five times um get back to you on hitting the upright it's pretty small I imagine I'd hit it once but probably not much more than plus or minus two of those so probably three to zero i'd say okay did i show you this last week that our t-shirt guy made a shirt for you guys he actually gave me a few of these he wants me to give them to you i can probably give it to blake right you guys are now a little he'll he'll hand you a stash before the game after yeah i can after the lucy's up in there right yeah wrap wrap the lucies in these he made uh some shirts that he's selling on uh our merch site now is uh leg day every day
Starting point is 00:05:21 and yeah that is awesome and by the way that's just any random football player with a 17 on their helmet that's not
Starting point is 00:05:29 yeah that could be anybody there's no star on that this is the same way if you've ever getting a TV commercial right he knows he's got to wear football shirt I saw your acting the other day
Starting point is 00:05:39 was it good what do you think I seemed like you were dejected and needed ice cream yes perfect that's right well good times man Yeah, I'll give you that shirt, but I want Trent's banger and butter shirt.
Starting point is 00:05:52 That thing was sick. All right, I'll see if I can dig one up. And look, we know you. Yeah, what size? X-L. X-L, all right. We know you guys have access to hats that we can't get. Oh, the hat he had on the sidelines is awesome.
Starting point is 00:06:07 The hat on McAfee, too. People are asking me, like, where do I get that? Dack has the lineman hat. I like the sparkly cancer hat, Braddon had on the sideline the other day. Right? the colors. That one I think you could probably get. The crucial catch hat.
Starting point is 00:06:22 I gave mine away one of the sidelines security guys has a family who are going through cancer. So he asked for it. I gave it to them. But they do sell those, I'm pretty sure. Yeah, we could get you one of those, Dan. The one that just has the uprights and the ball going through. I have the big sweatshirt that McCarthy wore. I love that thing.
Starting point is 00:06:44 The upright hat, that is from my kicking coach. starting a new brand performance kicking and just kind of want to represent him, give as much free publicity as I can. So I go on a show like that. I just throw it on. And I usually, I like to wear my hats backwards just so I don't give away free publicity. And you can see my full face. I'm not putting a shadow. But I felt like I needed to throw that one around for, for that moment. Respect. Yeah. So I mean, right now I'm just wearing it. A Vibeware hat that you guys can also buy online. It's just a company.
Starting point is 00:07:22 But don't want that all over. The hat is like a prototype made by Vibeware, actually. They had a collab with performance kicking. And I think he made like just like 30 of them. Can I have two. I can give one of them, one of them to you guys if you guys can fight over it. Hey, I'm just, people were asking us. And I just want them to know you can't get.
Starting point is 00:07:47 the hats he got i don't wear hats those aren't for sale um i don't know if they ever will be for sale they're just my kicking coach printed a couple of hats gave him to his kickers that are in the NFL and and to DAC um trying to get his brand out there sort of deal respect so if a listener asks i'll say why don't you make an all pro yeah i'll support your uh yeah we should promote we'll promote your kicking kicking kicking coach for sure yeah performance kickings right here in the dfW area and Austin. He goes between the two locations every other week. I wonder what he could do with a schlub like me.
Starting point is 00:08:25 Like obviously you can turn a former first round MLS draft pick. First round pick? Yes. First round MLS draft pick into a, you know, a good NFL kicker. What can you do with a raw piece of play like me? Oh, Blake, you want to? I can't kick, really. Blake is a humble athlete.
Starting point is 00:08:47 He is an ass-kicking athlete. Blake's lower half is powerful. Yeah, he'll figure it out. If you can golf, you can kick. He can drive a ball 300 yards. He can hit home runs and softball. He is. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:09:03 Your power comes from all the same places where you're hitting your golf ball and your baseball. So you'd figure it out. I don't know, the foot eye coordination is the hardest part, but the power's there if you can just figure out the technique. Go make some kicks. Oh, that's Brandon Aubrey.
Starting point is 00:09:21 How long can you, like, dribble a softball up, or softball, a soccer ball, like up in the air, you know, like the foot eye coordination, though, like Tiger can do with the golf ball? Can you do it for like 30 seconds? A soccer ball? Yeah. Until I get tired of doing it. Damn. You should see him on the plane. That's all he's doing.
Starting point is 00:09:43 Up and down. Up and down the aisle. Yeah. All right, dude. Thanks for taking the time. today and uh we'll talk next week see in new york absolutely thanks guys maybe go ice skating at central park together or something i'd love to get some dollar pizza that is the brandon aubrey program brought to you by comedian mechanical uh before we do news the dumbzel presents
Starting point is 00:10:11 today and twitter never a bad time what a quick bout for just looking at twitter especially before I leave I'm about to leave so I hope everything goes very poorly without me and you're really like
Starting point is 00:10:26 I can't do this show without this guy that's what I want now what I'll say is I hope everything goes well but what I really want is I want when I return that you're happy
Starting point is 00:10:37 no one really wants things to go well when they're gone CD Lamb would really like it if they really really missed him Anyway, we had a Twitter fight.
Starting point is 00:10:52 It's mild, especially for one of the participants involved. But skin, of Benin's Skin or of Mab's TV. Just after the game tweeted out, that's the type of tie that can springboard you to an exhilarating 8-8-1 season. Sounds like Blake. A little fun. funny. Yeah, he's just having some fun. He
Starting point is 00:11:21 likes to have some fun with the team he's allowed to have some fun with online, right? Yeah, now. Can't do that. He's one of my closest mentors, friends, and heroes. This is also a dog shit tweet, Jeff. All right. Well, you know who agrees with you? Yeah, my man,
Starting point is 00:11:38 my fellow in long shorts. Bradsham jumps in. What a pessimist. Let's see what happens It can also be a springboard to overachieving We'll know more in two weeks But then you and Ben told Mabbs fans To give up in the Portland series in 11
Starting point is 00:11:59 Damn Ancient history Bringing up the one and done boys Jeff Skin Wade replies You sure about that Get your facts straight X is full of misinformation Don't be that guy Brad
Starting point is 00:12:15 get your facts straight before you spout off in a public forum. Take a lap. And if you think 8-8-1 is pessimistic with a bottom-five defense, then I don't know what to tell you, dude. And that's accurate. And it's probably also accurate that he did not tell Mavs fans things are over. And he works for the Mavs. Brad, don't you understand how this is?
Starting point is 00:12:37 Yeah, but that is a bin-and-skinned thing, though. I think it was more put on Ben. Yeah, well, I wouldn't doubt that Ben might have said that, and I wouldn't doubt if I would have said that. but I would very much doubt if Jeff, or if Skin says we should give up now, don't watch this game three or five or whatever it came down to in Portland. Well, Skin hadn't always been there. He was there then, though, right?
Starting point is 00:13:01 He's been there a long time, dude. He absolutely has, at least in some way, shape, or form. He was. But, yes, that was. In fact, he was because that's when they, isn't that when they blew out? Does it hurt Bob Warren? Oh, yeah, you're probably right. Same time.
Starting point is 00:13:19 Mid-season, I think they blew him out. Skin started getting more shine. Everybody's playing their role here, right? I think it's weird to go into sports, but it's because people hate Jerry, right? I know Skin, well, it's just because of that. Like, in my dad's the same way, people who grew up, any, there's no room for positivity until they win a Super Bowl, because Jerry owns the team. I'm not saying this makes me better
Starting point is 00:13:46 I'm able to look past that though as a fan but like the skin he watches that game and he's like who cares it's Jerry's team it'll probably go wrong in the end I don't see the benefit of thinking like that it's not fun for me even though you know it's probably true
Starting point is 00:14:00 for sure yeah
