Starting point is 00:00:00 All right, Alexander, let's talk about Andy Burnham. He gave an interesting interview to a podcast on a podcast the other day. And Burnham, he said that there was Russian interference in the Brexit vote in 2016. He also warned France and Germany about Russian interference in elections. And he talked about how the Aev-D has some sort of Russian connection. So I think we understand where all of this is going. But your thoughts on Burnham's admission, his statement, not admission, a statement to that after speaking with UK Intel, they have told him that there was Russian interference in Brexit, which actually runs counter to all the statements that they were saying back when there was the Brexit referendum. Absolutely.
Starting point is 00:00:53 They were coming out with statements. And we have the articles. The articles are online where they say that there is no evidence of any Russian interference or meddling. Now there is evidence. Well, there are claims that Russia meddled in Brexit. Indeed. I would add that there's been lots of investigations, lots of claims, lots of journalistic investigations, and they will come up with nothing.
Starting point is 00:01:17 But nonetheless, now 10 years on when it is becoming increasingly obvious, that Andy Burnham is not just Stama Mark 2, but Stama Mark 2 plus wants to take us back into the European Union. He's actually said as much. Of course, now we trot out the whole story that there's something illegitimate about the result of the 2016 referendum, that he didn't mean what it appeared to mean, and that we can go full steam ahead and work towards rejoining the EU. And of course, it must be an EU that can, continues to follow the same formula as already, so that must be an EU that doesn't include parties like the IFDA, who are obviously in the pocket of the Russians, and therefore we must
Starting point is 00:02:11 give interviews to this effect and say that British intelligence is providing us with all of this information, which probably they are, by the way. I'm sure they can come up with files that confirm these things that the Remainers all want to believe and want us all to believe. So a few weeks ago, when Burnham was running for Parliament for the seat of McElfield, which voted overwhelmingly for Brexit, he told everybody there that, you know, they didn't need to worry. This isn't really much part of his agenda in the run, if he went back into Parliament. Well, we see how long that lasted. It basically does demonstrate what an extremely manipulative individual politically, Burnham is,
Starting point is 00:03:11 and how what he says is not to be taken seriously at all. Maybe you could argue that's true, politicians in general, but Burdenham has taken this far further than we've seen up to now. He was and remains a Blair right. He was on very good terms of Blair. I suspect he still is. But Blair has also been writing recently pieces about the importance of rejoining the European Union. This is now, obviously, where this is all going.
Starting point is 00:03:44 I think the other thing that's happened is that Burnham has, been boosted by an election results in a parliamentary by-election in Holborn, in London. Holborn and Camden is an area which is in about 10 minutes walk from where I live, by the way. So it's an area that I know very well. It used to be starless seat, starless step down. The Greens, Polanski, the leader of the Greens, Polanski, stood against the Labour candidate. but the Labour candidate won. And this has been seen as an enormous vindication
Starting point is 00:04:24 and act of support for Burnham by the British people. And it means that the Greens are now supposedly receding and no longer represent a threat to the Labour Party in London. The Greens, of course, are themselves a pro-EU party. The priority now is to defeat the Labour Party. the Greens in places like North London to push them back, roll them back. So you start talking about the EU and rejoining the EU. And no doubt that went down very well in places like Holborn and Camden and is, as you rightly say, the shape of things to come. What Burnham's electoral strategy is,
Starting point is 00:05:11 what his political strategy is, is to present Labour as the party that he's going to take Britain back into the EU, reunite the remainers behind it, and assume that way that Labor will be able to consolidate its support and maybe even remain the government and win the next election and achieve that greatly desired outcome of bringing Britain back into the EU. Yeah, I would say that reversing Brexit is the centrepiece of Burnham's administration. It has become the centrepiece. Yes. Exactly. What do you make of Burnham tying the 2016 Brexit meddling to 2026 Aevde in Germany
Starting point is 00:05:59 and how it all hinges on Russia and as Russia being the enemy? It's all about Russia being the enemy. Whether it's 2016, the Brexit referendum or whether it's the AIFDA surge and the AIFD election victories, It's all about Russia. Russia is the enemy, was the enemy, remains the enemy, and will be the enemy going forward. Absolutely. Well, when Burden became prime minister, we got all sorts of words and messages that he wasn't actually that sold on Project Ukraine. And in fact, he turned up, dressed down to a meeting with Zelensky, and that seemed
Starting point is 00:06:40 to reinforce the impression. And I was hearing all sorts of reports and rumors. circulating that in fact he was trying to reach out to people to see if he could find a way out of Project Ukraine. If that was ever real, and of course it might not have been, probably wasn't, but if that was ever real, Burnham, who as I said is a man who travels very light when it comes to principles, judged the room very carefully, realized that the Labour Party, the deep state in Britain, all of those people, would absolutely not tolerate such an approach being taken. And he's dropped it completely, and he's gone over completely to the side, which says
Starting point is 00:07:28 that Russia is the enemy, and we must unite the country against it. So, Russia is the enemy. We must unite the country against Russia, and we must reunite the country also, or reunite the left, by taking Britain back into the EU. So establishing the Labour Party as an anti-Russian party, a pro-EU party, the party that is friendly to Ursula von der Leyen, and the party that stands at the diametrically opposite position to the IFDA in Germany and probably before long to Marine Le Pen and her party in France and saying that these parties, because they have the opinions that they do,
Starting point is 00:08:18 they must be in the pocket of Russia. No difference between Labour and the CDU. No difference between Burnham and Mertz, right? Pro-war. Deindustrialization, pro-war, pro-EU, pro-globalist. I mean, the same party, effectively. Absolutely, exactly the same party and we've just exchanged one prime minister
Starting point is 00:08:42 to Kirstama for another prime minister, Andy Burnham, who as we said on this program, I mean, I would advise people to go back and look at what we would say before Andy Burnham became prime minister. He's just basically the same as Starmer, but with a rather more, with a rather better smile on his face. Fundamentally, there is no difference between. been the two. Can Brexit be reversed? I mean, can it be done without a referendum? Does it need a
Starting point is 00:09:12 referendum? And if there is a referendum, will it be reversed? You know, you actually put your finger on a very, very good point because I actually think that legally, you don't need a referendum to do it. I mean, what happened was that the previous prime, the earlier prime Minister David Cameron, said that he would hold a consultative referendum on whether or not there should be Brexit, that if the referendum decided that there should be Brexit, the government would abide by the decision. In fact, they wrote to every single household in London, in England, in Britain, rather, saying that very thing.
Starting point is 00:10:01 But it was made absolutely clear, later, and in various court decisions, that the ultimate decision rests with Parliament. So it's entirely possible that Burnham could pass a bill saying that Britain is going to rejoin when the election comes, campaign on rejoining, and then just rejoining without a referendum. Now, I am going to say something here. I think that the Labour Party, Burnham, are probably misreading the political mood in Britain. Firstly, I don't think there's been any great shift in attitudes about Brexit on the part of British people. In fact, I think that if Burnham does move forward and work to reverse Brexit, he might actually consolidate the left around the Labour Party, consolidate it around the, you know, eliminate the Greens
Starting point is 00:11:11 in certain urban areas. But the working class constituencies that voted for Brexit, some of which have stuck with the Labour Party up to now, places like McAfield, which of course, Burn and Widen that by-election. I think they would be absolutely disgusted. They're already very, very skeptical about the Labour Party, and I think they would switch to reform. I think there would be a major shift to reform in all of these places. And I think that this election would not go well for Labour, because so many of its seats
Starting point is 00:11:51 still are former industrial labor seats, legacy seats from the old Labor Party, where Brexit feeling remains extremely strong, but where some people are prepared to think about the possibility of voting labor, oh, sorry, voting reform. Now, that's one thing. The other thing is that, of course, sticking with this policy, doing nothing to end, Project Ukraine, what it ultimately means is continuing the whole set of policies that Kirstama had. And they were leading to economic decline
Starting point is 00:12:36 and economic stress in Britain. We're going to see further economic stress probably this winter because we know the problems with energy and the crisis in the Middle East and all of those things. And I think personally that they're misreading the results of the Holborn and Kandon by-election. As I said, I know the area very well. In my opinion, this was formerly an absolutely rock-solid Labour seat. Labor used to win very, very big there. You can see, in fact, that their share of the vote is declining. It continued to decline in this by-election. I think that in other parts of North London, the Greens now probably are very competitive. I think they might actually become competitive in Holben and Camden come the next election if there is economic stress and economic
Starting point is 00:13:39 decline. And I think that Burnham is locking the Labour Party and the Labour government into continued economic stress and economic decline. That's my own view. No different than the CDU. Real quick, Aivde, BSW, which is the ruling coalition in Saxony-Anholt, they are now saying that Germany should resume purchases of energy from Russia. Following up on Trump's diesel deal with Russia. They're saying it's time.
Starting point is 00:14:16 it's time to start buying energy from Russia. Not a one-time thing either. They're saying let's resume the cooperation. What do you make of that? Well, absolutely. I mean, a return to rational economics. The policies that made the German economy competitive and strong. Whether, of course, the Russians would be interested in going there is another matter.
Starting point is 00:14:41 They would need an awful lot of persuasion that if there was an IFDA government, And if the IFTA won convincingly, then I can imagine that Putin, who has, as we know, very much a sentimental soft spot for Germany. He recently met Gerhard Schroeder again, who came to meet him for his birthday and all that. I can imagine that Putin might agree. He might say, look, let's work together, get the Nord Stream pipelines up and running again, repair all the damage, get the gas moving. and it would be a logical and rational economic policy.
Starting point is 00:15:24 And it would make an immediate difference. I mean, if Russian gas started to arrive in Germany, within a few months, Germany would notice the difference. I mean, there would be an improvement in the cost of living. There would be all kinds of things that would follow very fast. But of course, it is absolute heresy as far as the German political elitist concern, according to the CDU and all of those people. Ursula and Kayakales obviously will oppose this policy to Thaneo. So would other EU states like the Baltic states, Poland, the Scandinavians, and of course the British would be adamantly and fiercely opposed.
Starting point is 00:16:13 So, you know, it shows again that you have a somewhat rational party on economic matters emerging in Germany. And we see that that is gaining traction in Germany because people there are feeling the economic pressure intensely. But elsewhere in Europe, in Britain, people like Burnham, what they're saying is that the fact that the IF. Derr is talking, in that way merely proves that they're being run by Moscow. Right.
