Episode Date: September 14, 2026Episode #163: The #1 Trait of Unhealthy People! (this makes you sick) DYLAN DOES NOT HOLD BACK! You can eat well, train consistently, sleep properly and have perfect bloodwork and still be... UNHEALTHY. Because some of the most damaging things we carry have nothing to do with food, exercise or supplements. Negativity. Resentment. Anger. Constant comparison. Refusing to take accountability. Spending your time arguing with strangers, obsessing over other people’s opinions and looking for another reason to be upset. In this episode, Dylan breaks down the characteristics he believes are shared by some of the unhealthiest people, and why improving your physical health may be impossible without first addressing what is happening mentally and spiritually. Dylan Gemelli is the host of The Dylan Gemelli Podcast, where he explores health, longevity, human performance, mindset and faith through conversations with leading doctors, researchers and experts, as well as his own experiences and perspectives. His approach to health goes beyond biomarkers and physical appearance, focusing on what he describes as the connection between Mind, Body and God. We weren't created to be selfish and hoard things and live only for money and power.
And we weren't created to hold grudges and to have hate.
We were created to love.
We were created to do wonderful things.
We were created to be happy and healthy.
Whether it's CNN, Fox, or anything else in between,
every single thing that you watch on there has some sort of negative connotation,
the kind of division and that negative outlook on others
when you're just looking for something to hate somebody for.
That causes a lack of hell.
To the people out there that make excuses all the time, never take responsibility or accountability, do you think those people are healthy?
Do you think that they carry healthy characteristics and take pride in how they feel and how they look?
When you become selfless as opposed to selfish, you feel better.
Do you want to know why nothing seems to help you with constant cravings?
GOP1 is the hunger hormone that everyone's talking about.
But your gut was designed to make it on its own, however it needs to write sick.
Bitter receptors in your gut and mouth are directly tied to GLP1 release, and most modern diets are extremely low in bitter foods, and so this natural pathway rarely gets activated, but have no fear because I found the answer with Just Thrive Digested Bitters.
Just Thrive Digested Bitters Deliver concentrated bitter botanicals that activate receptors in your gut, encouraging your body to produce GLP1 naturally, supporting healthy digestion, comfortable fullness, and a balanced appetite without any.
synthetic inputs. No bitter taste required. The bitter receptors that matter most for GLP1
signaling and digestive support aren't just in your mouth. They line your entire GI track. So when
the capsule dissolves in your gut, the bitter botanicals activate those receptors. Same signal,
same response, zero bitter taste. Right now, Just Thrive is offering my listeners something special.
When you start a 90-day Just Thrive probiotic subscription, you'll get a free 90-day supply.

All right, everybody.
Welcome back to the Dylan Jameli podcast.
I want to get into something today
that I think we'll catch a few people off guard
when I start to name the areas that I want to address here.
Because the obvious answers are not going to be what I talk about.
about. I want to talk about the attributes that the most unhealthiest people carry. Now, most of you
would immediately jump to something to do with their diet, poor sleep habits, potential addictions to
drugs, alcohol, every poor habit you could think of. Let me say first, all terrible habits
to have, all major contributors to poor health, certainly. So I am not discounting those whatsoever.
and I'll probably touch on those throughout.
But there's a bigger picture here.
There's a bigger facet to what causes people to be truly unhealthy.
Because I'll tell you this.
I can fix all of those things.
I can fix your diet.
I can have you training consistently.
I can get your blood panels in line.
I can correct a lot of these things and help you to do it.
And you can do it and make the efforts to make the changes that you need daily.
But if you carry the attributes that I'm about to list, it does not matter.
And I know, again, that probably sounds crazy before I get into it.
Well, Dylan, if my diet is in check and I'm training and even sleeping well, how can you tell
me that I wouldn't be healthy?
But I think as I get into this, it's going to be very evident and clear that every single
unhealthy person carries these characteristics.
And I will ask you this out loud as I go to make it so that you understand where I'm going.
And I'll say it very clearly.
And then when you say it out loud, you'll go, oh, yeah.
Because you're going to say to yourself, well, how can you say that every single person that is unhealthy has this?
What proof do you have?
What study have you done?
Let me just get into what they are first.
And it's going to be very fitting.
and I'll make this point as who the people that would say this, how they fall into this category.
So what is the number one characteristic and trait that I can say that generally every unhealthy person carries?
Something to do with negativity.
Whether it's a negative outlook on life, something that they're always thinking and construing in their mind that's negative,
some part of their day is carrying negativity.
when you start to become negative, you create problems for yourself, you create them within.
Your brain has so much control over every single thing that you do, how you feel, and your overall health.
I have talked to some of the best neuroscientists, and I'm not going to try to cite a bunch of things that I don't have in front of me.
Because you guys know me, I do speak with credibility in fact, but when I start doing things like this, I'm rolling.
and I don't script anything or have a bunch of things all to my sides here and papers here and there with a bunch of facts and things on them.
I'm going off memory and I'm going off things that I've discussed on my podcast and things that I've learned educationally at institutions, whatever the case, I go off of it all.
But I can tell you this.
I have talked to several neuroscientists and you can go back and listen, Dr. Daniel Amon, Dr. Dave Raven, some of the most respected people in the world.
and they will all correlate the mind and people that are positive versus negative in how much
it affects their overall health, how it affects them when they recover from injury or illness,
and how it determines their overall lifespan.
And I ask you this and say this out loud.
How many people that carry a negative attitude or showcase negativity or have a negative
vibe or energy to them do you look at and think to yourself or say out loud,
wow that person is the epitome of good health and i say that rhetorically and i've given the speech
and i say i'll wait and i never see a hand go up and give me any example of somebody that is highly
negative that they are pinpointing out to me that they look at and say wow i bet they're healthy
but i'll tell you what people that are unhealthy you're going to notice that aura to them almost 99% of the
time. There's always going to be exceptions to the rule on people that may be unhealthy, may have
illness or sickness, but I'll tell you what, the people that carry a positive attitude, they hide it
quite well and you won't be able to see it. That mindset and that ability to stay positive,
to have more compassion and love in your heart, to carry characteristics like gratitude and
humility, endurance and perseverance, those virtues that you need, those are indicative of somebody
that is healthier, happier, and more successful in life.
And we can define success in multitudes of ways.
But I'll tell you what, people that are negative, they end up having more problems.
If you look at blood panels, people that have higher levels of inflammation, higher levels
of cortisol, chances are they're carrying around a negative attitude.
And chances are also high.
They're not the most gracious people.
And I mean carrying high levels of gratitude throughout their day.
when you carry that characteristic of being thankful, it resonates into everything else that you do.
It really truly does.
And most people that always find a problem to every solution, they tend to not do so well on the health side of things.
And I see it time and time and time again.
That energy that you carry along with you can raise you up or it can certainly pull you down.
And when you start to have these people where in their free time, for example,
they're spending it watching ridiculous news stations and they're all the same.
So I don't care what side of the fence that you think you're on,
whether it's CNN, Fox, or anything else in between or all over the place.
Every single thing that you watch on there has some sort of negative connotation.
It causes division.
It calls out other people.
and all it does is pull bits and pieces of different interviews
or whatever they want to fit their narrative
to drive you against another person
and to cause some sort of negative reaction.
How many times do you watch those
and come out feeling happy?
I'll wait.
And we'll sit here and wait and wait and wait
because after you pull through a million episodes,
chances are you're not going to find me one.
The kind of division and that negative outlook on others
when you're just looking for something
to hate somebody for.
That causes a lack of health.
I'm not sitting here trying to be Mr.
Bring the World Together, although I would love to.
I know that there's a lot of things that go on that cause division,
but the more division and the more negativity that we carry,
the unhealthier we are.
And guess what?
Then we become more reliant on medications.
Once again, I'm not a conspiracy theorist.
Everybody here that follows me knows I don't give one ounce of a fuck either
way, what side you're on, where you go. I have a set of beliefs. If you feel that my set of beliefs
puts me in one side or the other, by all means, put me wherever you want, because to me it doesn't
make any sort of a difference. I belong to God. I don't belong to any group or anything of the
sort. Whatever characteristics or beliefs that you carry, that's your own. Don't ever become
dependent on a group or a title or anything else. That's nonsensical. And once again, unhealthy, because it
causes negative outlooks, negative connotations. Let me ask you this. What would you say if I asked you
about how you spend your free time and I bring up this? I say to you, well, you go through comments
and you see somebody that leaves a negative comment and then maybe you do a little digging into them
and see, well, man, seems like they leave an awful lot of negative comments on different things.
Seems like that's all they do. Can you imagine?
Imagine if I said this out loud to you, in your free time, you spend 30 minutes to an hour
scrolling through posts online and just talking shit, leaving negative comments.
And then you add up the time and the hours and you look at it over time.
And before you know it, you've been doing it for years.
And that time's adding up to days.
Then it's adding up to weeks to months.
That all you did when you look back at free time was do something negative.
insult somebody else
spend your time looking for things
that could piss you off
or that you don't agree with
and so you type and write
and do all of this and that's what you do in your free time
and then you wake up when you're 50 and you
wonder
well where did the time go
why did I not do
all of these things that I wished I would have done
what happened
why am I so pissed off why am I so angry
why am I unhealthy
well what do you think
all of these people that do this and waste their time and worry about what everybody else is doing
and worry about what everybody else thinks and what they say and what they said that could hurt
your feelings or piss you off who cares who cares when you think about those things
when you dwell on things in the past when you hold grudges when you hate people for the rest
of your life let me ask you a question a serious question and ask yourself out loud what did that
solve? What did getting angry at anybody ever solve? How did that fix any problems? How did it make
your life better? How did it make you any happier? How did it make you more successful? How did it
make you healthier? How did it make your connection with your family, your kids, your loved ones,
any better? Or did it leave you in a state of mind where you're asking yourself, why am I so angry all the
time you what you sometimes your conscious will get to you and you go to bed and think well
man i wish i was kinder or i wish that i wouldn't have said this or i wish i wouldn't have done
that and it's just a life a wish and wish and wishing did you to the people out there that
make excuses all the time never take responsibility or accountability do you think those
people are healthy do you think that they carry healthy characteristics and take pride and
how they feel and how they look and how they are to treat other people.
Because I'll tell you what, when you do good to other people, when you treat them,
well, when you smile at somebody and they smile back, when somebody says hello to you for no reason,
it uplifts you.
It makes you feel better, even if it's just for that moment.
But in that moment, you're lost into, wow, I feel a lot better.
When you do something well for somebody else and they tell you thank you,
Or somebody, for me, for example, what makes me happy with what I do?
When somebody comes to me and says, Dylan, something you said, a guest you had on, something
you asked them, something that you brought out of them, or even a guest that I have on that
says, you know, nobody's ever asked me that.
Nobody's ever cared to do that.
All everybody does is read off a script and ask me the same old shit that they do on every other show
I'm on.
That makes my day.
That makes me go.
That makes me feel so good.
And it makes me feel fulfilled because I know what I'm doing.
I'm doing something good for other people.
When you become selfless as opposed to selfish, you feel better.
And when you feel better about yourself, you become healthier.
You become a bigger asset to people around.
You become more successful at what you do.
You get things done much more efficiently.
When you take care of yourself mentally, you can take care of yourself mentally, you can take
care of yourself physically, but walking around with a negative attitude, doing things that
cause division, hating on other people, worrying about what other people think and say about you.
Taking everything personally, not knowing how to take constructive criticism, being sensitive to
the point where if somebody says hello to you wrong, that it's a problem.
Being so, so extreme one way or another where you just hate on anybody for having a different
thought or opinion or any sort of way.
that goes against your own.
Does that sound healthy?
If you say this shit out loud,
if you take a moment and take a step back
and look at yourself in the mirror
and ask yourself if you're really doing these things,
because some people, when I say this, will do it
and other people will do the same old thing
and just be more negative.
Fuck this guy!
You know, who does he think he is?
Or he's so perfect?
No, I am far, far, far from perfect.
But I'll tell you what makes me excel at what I do
is because I'm accepting of where I'm lacking
and I know that what I need to work on and I'm accountable and I tell myself, man, dude,
like you said something really bad, you did something really wrong, you need to fix it,
you need to be accountable, you need to say you're sorry, you need to take a step back and realize
what you're doing wrong and realize that everything that you say or do is not the end all,
be all. You need to be able to be accountable. When you have accountability, I'm telling you,
it is the most freeing thing in the world. See, there's multitudes,
of meanings to words.
And slavery is one of those words
because we all become slavery to sin,
we become slavery to worrying about what other people think,
to the man-made world.
When we don't really understand what freedom means,
when we're free from those things,
when we're free from worrying about what everybody else thinks,
when we're free from stresses and anxieties and angers,
that's real freedom.
that's real true freedom
you're not free when your mind is convoluted
with all of these negative things
and you've got to think to yourself
if you're constantly negative
and you're always in this bad state of mind
how are you able to really work on eating well
how are you really able to work on your training
if your mind is always in that realm
how are you able to push through
because mental strength is one of the keys to being a great athlete or being able to push yourself
at the gym, being able to be disciplined when it comes to your food, to be temperate,
to not go crazy and have to have a million bites of pizza because it tasted good or be lack of
self-control.
That's what causes addictions.
It's something mental.
something that triggers mentally.
You have a mental and chemical dependency.
And it starts with negativity.
Something, something that you're holding on to,
something that you can't let go,
something internally that's caused you all of these problems,
then it exudes out into everything that you do
and it doesn't allow you to be healthy nor happy.
You know, I used to always want to be,
the one that got all the attention when I went into a room
but for the wrong reasons
oh he's got this kind of suit or clothes on
he's wearing this he's got that
all of the things that make no significant difference
and don't really draw people to you
they draw a type of respect
that's not really respect
it's people that like you
just because of your status of who you are
but don't really like you
Don't really get that feeling from you.
Now when I walk in a room, my goal is to bring the most positive, vibrant energy that I can
that brings positivity, hope, and instills some kind of encouragement into people.
And that's what you have to do.
You have to bring something positive to others, which will then resonate and help us all become healthy.
Yes, sleep is imperative.
And people that have bad sleep are generally unhealthy.
Yes, people that have a really rough diet that eat a lot of processed foods that don't
don't take care of themselves.
And we could get into diet and everything else because that's a whole other ballgame
of disagreement.
Once again,
where people think that their way is the only way.
No,
everything is different for each individual.
And certain things work for some that don't work for others.
Once again,
that's that negative connotation where people get scared to even discuss diet because
they're going to get attacked if they're not keto or if they're not vegan or if they
disagree with this or that.
Again, it's argument, it's fighting, it's negativity over what?
Because somebody doesn't like your fucking diet?
Because somebody doesn't agree that being carnivore every single day of their life is good
or somebody likes carbs and somebody doesn't or somebody is a vegan or somebody isn't.
Somebody eats, God forbid, oatmeal or spinach or whatever else is the new thing we're not supposed
to eat today that was okay to eat yesterday.
think about how ridiculous some of the things I'm saying sound, how absurd.
Just sit there and think about it if you say it out loud.
And then ask yourself, is any of the things that I'm saying worth it?
Do any of these things have any bearing on anything?
And how much time and energy am I wasting into this nonsensical garbage when I could be doing
something positive?
and I will always say that the way to become the healthiest is to connect yourself to God
and some people are going to get so mad at that and whatever and I don't care.
I really don't because that is the ultimate path and way to truly get yourself turned around
mentally and physically because that is how you obtain the virtues that I'm talking about.
That's how you become loving and caring when you realize the importance of what we were created to be
because we were created to love,
we were created to give.
We weren't created to be selfish
and hoard things and live only for money
and power and control.
We weren't created to hold grudges
and to have hate.
We were created to love.
We were created to do wonderful things.
We were created to be happy and healthy.
Now there are certain things in the world
that we're created and we have to live
and be accustomed to and get around.
There's no, some things there's no ways around it.
But damn it, man, running around and being pissed off all the time and hating on other people
and just taking things out on others to either make yourself feel better or to try to drag people
down to your level of misery is bullshit.
And it does nothing but contribute to the bigger picture, which is causing this health decline
that I see.
Yes, there are other things to address.
But you would see so much less of all of these depilitating diseases.
diseases and problems if the mindset's changed.
So I'll leave you with that.
I am here to do one thing and one thing only,
and that is to try to bring people closer to God
and fix their lives in the best way I humanly possibly can.
And if I can get into your hearts and fixate love and compassion into your hearts,
everything else then is a learning curve that we will get through,
and I will help you all get through it with me.
and I will do everything that I can to help bring that light and that hope into everybody's life
and to be an inspiration.
So that being said, stay tuned for plenty more to come.
Dylan Jameli, signing off.
