Starting point is 00:01:19 Thursday. You all right? Friday. What happened to you this week? I'm a mess. I'm sorry. I'm a mess. I'm like scheduling, dealing with my kids. schedule, schedule, schedule, I don't know what day it is.
Starting point is 00:01:40 It's Friday, Laura. Finally Friday. It's been a crazy week, no question. A lot of people still recovering from the big parade yesterday. Happy Juneteenth, by the way. Shout out to everybody who's off today and just chilling out. Shout out to everybody who's need to watch some Team USA later today at 3 o'clock. Matter of fact, if you're in Jersey, I'm going to be out.
Starting point is 00:02:04 If anyone wants to come out. Oh, nice. Where are you going to be at? I'm going to be at Calandra's Italian village in Caldwell, New Jersey. Okay. Hosting a watch party at 3 o'clock for the Team USA Australia game as part of my joby job. But I love this place. Their food is friggin' slamming.
Starting point is 00:02:23 Actually, when you were at the wedding, did you on your way out, did you catch any of the pastries that were downstairs on the way out or nah, you didn't, they were gone? Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Because they provided the pastries that we had downstairs. They're an incredible bakery, but then like their actual restaurant is freaking awesome too.
Starting point is 00:02:43 Ooh. They did your wedding cake too? Producer Grips wedding cake. Hello. No, shout out. No, shout out there. So I'm going to be out there if you're in Jersey and you want to come out. Say what's up.
Starting point is 00:02:54 Let's see. Let's see. It's a big, you know what today is? You know how you do on Fridays, right? We just like when you do current events. Nobody wants to hear about your families. Look at Baskin' over there eating healthy stuff. What is that?
Starting point is 00:03:12 What are you snacking on there? What is it? What is it? What are you snagging on? Some nuts. Oh. I don't know why he's laughing if she has ridiculous. Why is producer Griv and King Louis, they're just cracking up?
Starting point is 00:03:28 Because he just said nuts. He's got a mouthful of nuts. Nothing like some salty nuts in your mouth. What do you say? And your hands. And your hands, yeah. It's from your hands to your mouth. I do want to say, Rassan, that I'm very proud of you.
Starting point is 00:03:53 You are sticking to the program. Every time he's in here, he has like his healthy snack situation, his healthy breakfast, and he's on it. Let's get through the point. So I'm just saying everyone's always talking ish to you. I'm giving you some love. Thank you, Laura. I appreciate you. You're always supporting.
Starting point is 00:04:11 Because if he kept getting fat, we would have to call him saso. Oh, no. Saso, man. That sasso used to be wrong. We don't want you to be saso. We want you to be wrong. No, no more sasso. Now everybody called me wrong.
Starting point is 00:04:30 Oh, wait. No, I don't know which is which. Is it when he got fat and he became wrong? I guess he got fat, he became wrong. We want you to be saso. Either way, no, you're doing good. You're doing good. Every time we look at you,
Starting point is 00:04:42 You got nuts in your mouth. It's a great thing. Oh, this is a big deal. Hold on. First time ever on the ELR show on a Friday. Oh. It's Miss Hatton. Hey, Nat. Hey, I'm not trying to be on the show right now. Oh, is everything okay? No, no, no. Everything's okay. I just, I need the remote and the charger for the blinds. Is the guy there already?
Starting point is 00:05:06 Yes. But it's early. Why are they already there? I don't know. Help her out, man. Okay. Yeah, thank you. So the one remote, the bedroom remote is available. That's right.
Starting point is 00:05:20 You saw it? No, I did not. That's where I'm calling. Sorry, the bedroom one is out. You know what? I don't like, I don't love what you're saying. I have things going on here. I'm really sorry.
Starting point is 00:05:33 The bedroom one you'll see. It's sitting out there. I think it's on the windowsill. I could not find, I could not find the living room one. It has to be somewhere out there. Maybe it's in a drawer in the kitchen. And then I told you, I don't think I know where the charging things are because I think that in the move, they ended up somewhere else. Okay, I'll let you go, babe, love you.
Starting point is 00:05:53 Thank you so much. Sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry. Anyway. Well, listen, I don't know why my ex-wife decided to get blinds with remotes. Oh, I have those two. Okay. Well, there you go. No, I didn't hate the idea as an I remember her doing it and being like, all right, cool.
Starting point is 00:06:12 It's a very modern feeling. Yeah. It's a pain in the ass. So I have it glued to my wall, like it has a little stand. You can take the remote off, but it stays there. I tell everybody, do not touch it because I don't want it to get lost. I have a question for you. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:06:26 Even if we do that, we should do that. Hopefully today that'll be the result. Yeah. There is someone in my house who is getting to that remote. I've been very good at that home. And is taking that remote. I, there is a person who lives in my house who lives for remotes. Oh.
Starting point is 00:06:40 All she wants is remotes to take them, to use them. So put it up high. I guess you're right. I suppose she has some limitations. She's going to be there rubbing her little hands like, ooh. That little girl loves a remote control. Speaking of which, wait, what were we saying before Natalie interrupted us? We were talking about Rassan and his nuts.
Starting point is 00:07:04 Oh, Ron. Ron and his nuts. Okay, Ron. Let's get through the point. No, you're doing great, Ron. He's doing good. You already look better. I swear to God, in the face.
Starting point is 00:07:17 I'm not kidding. I think he's like, let, I just sounds crazy. I think he already looks a little less gray. No, no, no. Men lose weight so fast. You guys just stop doing one thing and you'll drop like three pounds. Okay, not everybody, by the way. All right, but for the most part.
Starting point is 00:07:31 But no, Ron, let me say something about Ron. How do I say this respectfully? Oh, God. Ron wasn't meant to be fat. Like Ron was making him. fat. Was your body type ever as a kid fat? Were you ever a portly fellow?
Starting point is 00:07:49 I had my stages as a young, like under 13, yeah. You've had, you've had portly stages. Yeah, yeah. I was never like a fit, like athletic build. I was always like, you know, on the slightly pudgy side. Slim, but. You were slim thick?
Starting point is 00:08:02 Yeah, slim thick, for sure. Not slim thick. But what I'm saying is I think, I think that recently, you, it probably, like, I don't think it'll be that hard. for you to get to pretty good shape. Not like cut, jacked up, but where you feel like better.
Starting point is 00:08:19 You already notice it when you put your clothes on? I've noticed it a little bit. The biggest thing I've noticed is that I don't feel bloated anymore. And then like, when I eat, like, not a lot, but when I'm like full, and I feel like my stomach is stretched and, like, really tight. I'm like, oh, yeah, this is a feeling that I'd like,
Starting point is 00:08:38 I haven't had in a while. Why? Because you were, like, what do you mean? If you get full, you mean you, hold on. I eat now and I'm like probably eating a little bit past full. Yeah. I can feel like. Oh, this is like, oh, I don't want, and I don't want to feel this way.
Starting point is 00:08:51 Yeah. Whereas you were doing before all the time. Yeah, before all the time. Isn't that interesting? Yeah. You know what I could use a recommendation for on this Fought Friday? Maybe someone will tell me something. Right.
Starting point is 00:09:03 I've been noticing and I looked it up. I don't think it's anything like dangerous health-wise. I don't think it's an indicator of anything terrible, God, God forbid. But like, I notice that I wake up. gassy, like always wake up like feeling like kind of bloated. Even if I didn't eat a ton the night before, I still wake up feeling kind of like, and it's fine. Once I get going, just when you wake up. But it's just when I wake up.
Starting point is 00:09:27 And I looked it up. I do think it's possible. It's from sleeping on my side. Yeah. It did say that that is a thing because, and I really need to get off to sleeping on my side shit, bro. It's, it's, it's, my neck is hurting. Like, I need to train myself to sleep flat with one pillow. I have to.
Starting point is 00:09:42 One pillow is game changer. You did it? It is. I do one pillow. Yeah. And are you laying on your back? I'm one of those. I move around.
Starting point is 00:09:51 I move around a lot. But I've been consistently on my side and I don't think it's like working for me. And I also think maybe I read at least, according to my friend Claude. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Claude said that sleeping on your side sometimes the way your body is being pressing and doing different things. Yeah. You can be pushing gas around.
Starting point is 00:10:15 And that's why you can wake up feeling sort of bloated. It's a thing because I know I used to suffer from acid reflux and I forgot which way. But there's a side that it makes a difference. It makes a difference. Yeah. So if anyone has any thoughts, will you let us know? Do you want me to start the show with Maximum Cuteness? Yes, please.
Starting point is 00:10:34 Let's go. So, Bear was with my parents for a couple of weeks. Okay. Because we traveled. Yeah. And we finally got him back. And I missed him very, very. much my sweet sweet boy and poor guy his um he's really tired because my parents have
Starting point is 00:10:51 stairs and he would go up and down all day yeah and by the end of each day my dad was like he couldn't do it anymore yeah yeah because he's too old and but then the next day he do it again and they they were trying to get him not to but he wants to so now poor guy is just like I took him to the vet yesterday and she they were like hey he's fine they were like we don't think this is even like a long-term thing they were like but it's It's like right now he's basically like if you just started doing some random new exercise every day nonstop for two weeks, how your body would feel. And so he's like very tired right now since we got him back. But I got him some light pain meds to ease it.
Starting point is 00:11:28 Anyways, in the couple of weeks since he's been gone, we went to Italy. Maya is like a new person in two weeks. She's saying new things every day. And when I FaceTime once with my parents, I feel like she pointed when she saw him. and she was like, ba, ba, ba, ba. Whereas before, like, there were kind of two ships crossing in the night, you know? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:11:50 And now all of a sudden she seems aware. So this is the moment that I brought Bear home after not seeing my eye for like two and a half weeks. I'll give you the real inside, dope folks. Pardon the mess, guys, we just traveled, okay? That's a can of helium or something. Don't even worry about that. Who is that?
Starting point is 00:12:27 Is that bear? A little hot. She's like, my friend. He's here. B, B. I got the wow. Yeah. Yeah, I need that.
Starting point is 00:12:49 I need that as a drop, Grip. Bear, say hi. Maya, say hi. Bee. Be. Isn't it so cute? Yes. It's like brand new.
Starting point is 00:13:02 It just came out of nowhere. She's so excited. Yeah, I know. It's him. It's bear. Watch her run off into the distance. That is adorable. horrible.
Starting point is 00:13:24 That's so cute. I know. Wow. No, she's so stinking, so, so stinking cute. I'm so grateful. I just want everyone to know I am truly grateful that this is happening. None of it was guaranteed. Bear is now at least 15 and a half.
Starting point is 00:13:44 Yeah, yeah, yeah. At least 15 and a half. I mean, you know, so like it's, I'm incredibly grateful. I'm not going to lie when I was at the vet and they were feeling his legs and I saw him. I'm in, like, you see he's in pain here. And I saw him like, and like I just saw his like old boy body. Yeah. I just like was shedding a thug tear.
Starting point is 00:14:04 Even though he's great. Yeah, yeah. But like, I just am super grateful and I'm trying to just take it all in and enjoy it. Please do. And I'm so happy that like in this moment, even though he's tired and he's older, he's still pretty damn good. Yeah. It's like pretty amazing. He's really great.
Starting point is 00:14:22 And the fact that Maya is growing up with him is, Amazing. Yeah, like I just wanted them to at least, you know, and her and Rocky only got like a month together six weeks. So anyways, that's my video. Oh, so cute. Well, I want to send a big congratulations. I know I mentioned it before on the show,
Starting point is 00:14:39 but my brother and sister-in-law got married. That's right. And a fabulous wedding. And I couldn't post any photos because they were like, wait, wait, because they had a really, really chic photographer there. And I was saying, hmm, who's this fancy photographer? for oh wait there's a writer here too so their wedding was covered in vogue vogue weddings look at this crystal and juice congratulations covered in vogue oh my god it's so beautiful yes all dressed in lua
Starting point is 00:15:12 luar luar i love this a juicy juice i never seen him like this right doesn't he look so handsome crystal looks so beautiful they look great yes and luar um Shout to Raul. He is a Dominican Brooklyn-born designer. You know, made an incredible outfit. Wait, Rassan, put me in my boo up there because I couldn't post any pictures, but I'm about to drop him in a second.
Starting point is 00:15:37 Oh, that's why. Now that's why we're here. Now I get it. That's me, my boo. We're dressed out really good. Cute, right? Very cute. And now I know why she really wanted to congratulate
Starting point is 00:15:49 her brother and sister-in-law. Let me tell you something about Laura and her fitness journey. It's gonna, just get ready for the photos, okay? It's photo time. Don't act like I didn't pop out for your wedding. Oh no, you popped out. You popped out.
Starting point is 00:16:05 That's a fact. Anyway, congratulations to Juice and Crystal. So beautiful. So I have it up on Instagram, if you guys want to read the story. It's a beautiful Bronx love story. So I was very excited for them. Anyway.
Starting point is 00:16:18 By the way, I forgot to mention this the other day. That's very cool. Congratulations, Juice and Crystal. So cool. It just reminded me, though, because I just, I'm such, I'm so, like, inappropriate at times. I never met Carl Anthony Towns. Well, I have. I met him once in my life 10 years ago.
Starting point is 00:16:31 I do not know him. And I saw him and Jordan Woods walk into the party the other day. And when I see him, I just go, Demylo! I swear to God. I was just like, Demy! He's super cool. He didn't think much of it. You're so stupid.
Starting point is 00:16:50 Can you say Demylo to random Dominicans? I mean, you can. Do you think it's fine? Fine. I'm sure they're fighting amusing. I want to, what do you think, Rick would say? Do you think Rick could give me?
Starting point is 00:17:00 He would laugh. No, do you think you'd give me Dimello approval? Yes, I think so. I'm going to call him to find out. Yeah, he'll totally give you D. Mello approval. He's going to laugh. I want to find out. Let's see, you think, also do you think he'll answer my call?
Starting point is 00:17:12 I don't know. Let's see. All right. I know what's really, yeah. Okay. Are you FaceTiming? Yo, yo, yo. Dimo!
Starting point is 00:17:23 Dimo! Oh, hold on, I can't hear you. I can't hear you. You can't hear me? You're a mute. Damn, why can't he hear? Oh, because we're going. All right, hold, I'm going to take him off the thing.
Starting point is 00:17:36 All right. How about now? How about now? Yeah, I can hear you now. What's up? We're doing the ELR show. Oh, nice. Amazing.
Starting point is 00:17:44 I have a question for you. Talk to me. Is it appropriate that yesterday I saw a car, or sorry, on the other day at the party, I saw Carl Anthony Towns for the first time, like, well, second time ever my life, I don't know him. And I just saw him and went, Dimmilo!
Starting point is 00:18:00 Is that okay? I told him. So you don't think he'd be offended that I just, a white guy randomly yelled Demylo, I'm fine. You're good. You're good to go. And in general,
Starting point is 00:18:15 are you giving me the Dimeo pass? Do I have a Dimeo pass? The Dimalop pass is definitely there. You're definitely happy. Hi, baby. All right. Bye, Rick. All right, later.
Starting point is 00:18:28 Later. The great Ricardo, ladies and gentlemen, I have a Demilo pass. I am good, so if you see me outside and I yell Demilo, don't look at me any other way. Hilarious. Oh, my God. All right, so wait, we covered the wedding. Don't we have a baby Salasi video, I believe, as well? Oh, yes, this is so good.
Starting point is 00:18:44 Seeing this already. Ebro's late. You send this to me after I'd already seen it. I know, I've sucked, too. Take your time, Bascom. Look at her. Look at her. A little shoulder?
Starting point is 00:19:00 Look at her. Just arms out? She's doing the choreo. Whoa, whoa. This goes the last thing. It's the cutest thing. Yo, it's so good. When you stop my feet?
Starting point is 00:19:26 I love how serious she is. Kids love this, by the way. Oh, yeah, I know. It hits them right away. Think about it. I mean, it's all, like, scary looking and interesting. The spin. Like a little spin.
Starting point is 00:19:52 By the way, meanwhile, meanwhile. So cute. Meanwhile, should I worry that my daughter like just likes to spin like she knows that it gives you the spinneys I guess they do that sometimes she just she'll randomly remember and start spinning you're like no no no no no stop spinning you're gonna fall on can I can I admit
Starting point is 00:20:06 something what I wonder if anyone here relates is it bad that on some level like Issa is so perfect she's like such a model child and human being like I already know she's gonna be a model child and human being okay is it bad that on some level I hope Salasi drives Ebro absolutely.
Starting point is 00:20:32 Why? Like I just, I just like Issa is just it like if you, Ebro does it know. Oh God. He only knows what it is to have a kid who is so freaking like self-discipline. Like Issa is such an unusual and in the best way child. You know what I mean? Like she's like, uh, it's like you're raising a genius basically.
Starting point is 00:20:54 And she's like so emotionally intelligent for a kid. I just hope Salasi is a regular-assi who drives Hebrew nuts. Like, there's a little part of me. Like, Issa's like, you know, like she could practically serve you tea. And, you know, and Bascom's over at the birthday party. His kids are outside the balcony,
Starting point is 00:21:13 throwing someone off the roof, running around doing God knows what. Probably Kenz was over there cheering him on. I know, I know. No, Kenz's there drawing pictures of death and there's blood and guts. Baskim's kids are chasing after each other and screaming, and Issa's like drinking tea.
Starting point is 00:21:32 I just, part of me wants Iber to come back to earth and just have to see what. I want to, like I don't think Issa's ever had to exhaust. Issa has never made Ibro feel exasperated. You know what I'm saying? I don't think she's caused any exasperated. At least he hasn't told us.
Starting point is 00:21:49 That's the thing. Now, I would normally agree with you because Ebro is a liar. But the evidence is in spending time. I mean, yeah, she's like when you're with her, you're just like, who is this kid? Oh my God. Yeah. They're going to be two different. That's the thing.
Starting point is 00:22:04 That's a thing. Every kid is just different. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. And you can parent them, you think the exact same, right? But like, that's why we keep thinking, oh, should we do a girl again, Maya, so sweet. You don't know what the next one could be devil baby. Right. I mean, Rassan, you have multiple, you know, right, completely different from each other.
Starting point is 00:22:22 Are they all very different? Yeah, they're all very different. all sweet, but all very different. The third is actually the most troubling one that I would like. And it's because, so the youngest one, he was the youngest until I had to be. He's looking up to them. They're his models and he wanted to keep up. So he's like just advancing quicker.
Starting point is 00:22:44 Than any of up, of course, way more than the first one. Because he's trying to keep up with them. Right. And I think that's because of how close they are in age. So like, Ebro, they're like pretty far apart. Oh, yeah. And it's a total, it's like two only kids. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:22:57 Yeah, yeah, yeah. Both going to be very sweet. Although she may, she may still, like, little kids, as you know, they, like, admire other kids so much that her having Issa around still may give her a little bit of a push, but the gap is so big that Issa's basically another adult. Right. Yeah. Relative.
Starting point is 00:23:16 Yeah, yeah, yeah. As opposed to, like, a six-year-old, seven-year-old. Yeah. So, yeah, your third one, the former youngest, is, yeah, that one's going to. move super fast. But what's how old is he? He's full. So that's the biggest gap is between him and the baby?
Starting point is 00:23:31 Yes, four years apart. Okay. Yeah. I wonder if she'll be as fast as he is or if that gap because it's bigger doesn't hit the same. I don't know. That'll be interesting to find out. Oh, with the baby? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:23:45 It'll be interesting to see. I think he'll probably be calm or too because he's seeing them like, because already he's pretty chill. He's also three months. I just can't believe it. Congratulations. You play yourself. You have the cutest kids, man. They're all really cute kids.
Starting point is 00:24:03 Really, really cute kids. Yes, yes, yes. All right. So let's get to some emails. Freedom Friday. Let's do it. I don't know if I want to start with Mark. Mark is, ugh.
Starting point is 00:24:14 Oh, no. Hold on. What the hell? No, I do. Let's get right into the smoky smoke. All right. This is a beat of 250. And we're celebrating Black Music Month,
Starting point is 00:24:22 a celebration of legacy, creativity, and global influence of black music. Today, we celebrate the legendary Leotin Price, one of the most important voices in American history. Opera began in 16th century Italy. But black artists helped expand and redefine what that tradition could become. In the late 1800s, pioneering performers like Matilda Jones helped open the doors for future generations of black classical artists
Starting point is 00:24:45 by appearing on some of America's most respected stages. Then came Leotene Price. Born in Mississippi, Price brought a voice that was rich, power of. and unforgettable in 195. She became the first black opera singer featured in a major television opera production with NBC Opera Theater. She later earned worldwide acclaim
Starting point is 00:25:04 performing at the Metropolitan Opera and internationally. At 99 years old, Liotine Price remains a symbol of excellence, discipline, grace, and artistic greatness worldwide. Black Music Month Amplified Voices

Go ahead, Laura. All right, here we go. As discussed with Laura, just wanted to bring this to your attention as Norrie and DJ EFN was on the plantation and took subliminal shots at ELR. As far as saying, the figure that Drink Champs is using to promote their 10 years looked too light to be Norrie. It's Rosenberg-esque. They since removed it.
Starting point is 00:26:41 Petty and shady. Deaf knee caps or jerseys made Nick's mashup as the weather gets warmer. Can't wait for the signed shirt before Ebro gets out of here. So, yes, he's a thought. What do you reach out to you? He reached out to me and he was like, yo, they're taking shots on you in the interview. And he sent me the link of the interview.
Starting point is 00:27:00 Honestly, like, that's... Did you hear it? I did. Before it was taken out? I did. Okay, can you explain? I just don't understand what he's saying. So it was in a, um,
Starting point is 00:27:07 I think they were talking about like a flyer or a visual. Okay. And then I think Norrie said something about like, that being too light, two light skin. He's like, it's very Rosenberg-esque. That's honest. How is that a disc? Yeah, that's why I didn't think it was.
Starting point is 00:27:21 I didn't think it was a disc and I even, I think Caz was like, A, A, A, not too much of Rosenberg. But it was just, it was quick. Oh, but Caz was probably then because he knows that he's probably making the joke that if it's too much about me, I'm going to say something. Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes. But then it got taken out. Yes.
Starting point is 00:27:35 I didn't know he got taken out because I saw it. If it got taken out, that's more interesting than it being said. I don't mind. I mean, if the point is Norrie was made too light on the thing and he said it's Rosenberg, yes. That's funny. I'm like the standard of white for him in that moment. I don't care about that. Yeah, that's what I didn't take it as a diss.
Starting point is 00:27:53 Nah, not at all. You know, but I think just the mere fact that they mentioned your name, and everyone's like, ooh. But mentioning me and then if the powers that B would have it removed, that would be the more interesting part. I mean, but it wouldn't surprise me. Me neither. Hey, guys, they don't like us.
Starting point is 00:28:09 No. They do not like us. They're not happy with what we're doing. They really, they really don't like us. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So anyway, but thanks, Mark. You're a faithful fight and we appreciate you. Yeah, but that doesn't seem like, no, those are our guys.
Starting point is 00:28:22 Honestly, that's for real not a thing. Yeah, yeah, yeah, it's fine. It's fine. All right. Let's go to Chenezia? I'm butchering your name. Chenecia? Let me see.
Starting point is 00:28:35 Chenecia. Chenecia. Chenecia. Okay. Good morning, yeah. I'm so proud of you. I'm proud of you all. You guys are so entertaining with your shows.
Starting point is 00:28:45 I'm on Patreon as well. Thank you very much, darling. First of all, I need to thank you for the interview with Jesse. Reyes. I'm embarrassed. I didn't know her music. She is such a breath of fresh air. So real. I am late to the game, but went through a lot of her catalog yesterday and was blown away. Begging for your love and couldn't be me or my favorites. Next, Laura, did you finish the Testaments? Okay. So I did not condone anything on the show, but it comes straight from Project 2025 Playbook. But after episode three, there about to F-ish up next season. I hate, I'm excited.
Starting point is 00:29:19 L-O-L. Thank you and I love you guys. Yo, bro. Testaments, if you're a handmade tale fan like I am, the Testaments is fire. Yeah, I thought it was great. I thought it was. It gets better and better as it goes on, I think.
Starting point is 00:29:33 I think the season gets awesome as it goes. I loved it. And I love Chase Infinity. Me too. Me too. I love all the girls. Yeah, they're all really, really great. But she's like an incredible actor to me.
Starting point is 00:29:47 She's like special. Yeah. I find it so interesting their name's Chase Infinity. And there's a dude in hip hop. Great guy. Aesap Rocky's old manager. Chase Infinite. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:30:00 And Infinite Infinity. But it's like, it's weird, no? I mean, is Chase's real name? That was his name as a rapper 20-some years ago. Right, right, right. He added probably Infinite, unless Infinite is his real last name. But what is, but why would two people, you know what I'm saying? Like, what is there a meaning?
Starting point is 00:30:18 Who knows? Who knows? I'm going to ask him if he's related to Chase Infinity. But yes. Maybe it's his daughter. Wouldn't that be some crazy issue? You never know, by the way. Yeah, but I loved it.
Starting point is 00:30:27 I cannot wait for the next season, man. I am hooked. I have all my friends hooked on it. I watch all the recaps. I love the videos when other people are breaking certain episodes down. It's my favorite. But thank you. And thank you for all your support.
Starting point is 00:30:40 And yes, the interview with Jesse Reyes was beautiful. You know, Jesse is just amazing. And don't feel bad that you were behind, by the way. In this era, we live in, there's... There's too many people to keep, like, she's not mainstream, mainstream famous. Yeah. But when you find her, you're like, wow, she has tons and tons of fans and her music screen. And big-ass features.
Starting point is 00:31:00 Yes. And that's the point, right, to introduce you to new people. So we're glad we could do that for you. All right. Rosenberg, do you want to hit a voice note or a video? Let's hit a video. All right. Let's do Yvette.
Starting point is 00:31:18 Go ahead, Yvette. All right. Okay, let's do Adrian. Oh, do Adrian first. Let's go with Adrian. Okay. Yeah, I will. All right.
Starting point is 00:31:32 All right, let's go to a video. Let's hit Adrian. What's up, ELR? Longtime fan. Thrilled to send a video today right from where I listen to you all every single day on my commute. Love you all. Literally, you guys are my friends. I talk to you every single morning.
Starting point is 00:31:56 We're having comments. even though I'm just listening to your show on my way to work. I wanted to just shout you all out. Love how you guys hold our government accountable. There is definitely space to be a patriot and be critical about the administration. Also agree that our POTUS is significantly challenged cognitively. I think there needs to be a big evaluation on his ability. to orient a person, time, and place with all the hospitalizations he's had lately. We are a young country, just as a reminder. I know we talk about that often. I know Rosenberg was talking about Rome and its history. I do have hope, though. I think the youth will turn it around.
Starting point is 00:32:45 I think this little chapter of our country was needed to inspire a renaissance, and it's coming. Onward, upward. I appreciate you all every day. Shout out to all my borikas, the Puerto Ricans out there celebrating the Puerto Rican Day parade this weekend. I will be tuned in every day. All the best to you and yours. Big fan.
Starting point is 00:33:13 Thank you. Thank you, Adrian. Oh, that's fire. I love that he sent a video he's like from, this is when I listen to you guys. Look, he had his ear pods on. Like, that's fire. Adrian is dope.
Starting point is 00:33:24 He sounded just like the Mizzah to me. Didn't he? That's funny. Ebro and Rosenberg got into a thing this week. I can't do an impression, but you get the idea. He sounded like the Mizzam. Oh my God. Shouts to Adrian.
Starting point is 00:33:41 Shout to Adrian. That's really cool, bro. Thank you. All right, my turn. My turn. Let's go. Shouting out to a genuine soul. Blessings to you all, including the behind-the-scenes gentleman who make the show happen every day.
Starting point is 00:33:56 You know who he's talking about? Griffster and... Okay, Ron. Let's get through the point. You're all truly doing your thing. I enjoy getting ready for the day with you every morning, whether I'm at home, in the car, or walking to campus. I work in academia at one of the 25 colleges
Starting point is 00:34:13 within the City University of New York system. If you're looking for an affordable education, choose CUNY. Anyhow, moving on, recently our team suffered a tremendous loss. We unexpectedly lost, one of the most beautiful, charismatic, detail-oriented, and sharp-dressed men to ever be a part of our team. This has been and continues to be devastating for all of us. I wanted the world to know that K-Buddy was the kind of person you wanted on your team. He was hard-working, meticulous, dependable, and always knew how to pull you back when life had you spiraling.
Starting point is 00:34:45 He showed up for people. He cared. He made a difference. I want all of New York to show love to this man, his partner, his mother, and everyone fortunate enough to experience his exceptional soul and spirit oh man beautiful hey buddy I'm so sorry to hear about this that that's really really sad sending so much love to Kay Buddy and his entire family and all his friends and everyone who loved him man like yo people really die out here yeah yeah it's like it's it's God sometimes like
Starting point is 00:35:23 Like, the other day I had this weird thought. It wasn't based on shells. I don't remember who I was thinking about, but it was someone else who we've lost somewhat recently. And, oh, I know who I was thinking about. I was thinking about my friend Lindsay, who passed away a couple of years ago. And I was thinking about how, like,
Starting point is 00:35:40 when you think about your life, like, if you think about your life and, like, all the people around you in, like, this space, all, like, you know, your family, friends, people you're super close with, less close with, but the people in your world. Like to jump forward 10 years and think about the ones that are gone. Like who didn't make it to now?
Starting point is 00:36:03 Yeah. And now people keep getting added to that list. I know this is like incredibly dark, but I was like literally thinking about like we're all like friggin insects. We're all frigging ants just like walking through and then some get stepped on and they're gone. And then others keep going. And we see animals when that. happens, right? Like a colony. And you're like, oh, these ones survive. These ones don't survive.
Starting point is 00:36:28 But we're all the same. I know. Like as yeah, our lifespan is longer. But like, you know, just that's why live in the moment. Love hard. Do everything you want to do. Don't wait. Just do it. That's one thing that I've learned in the past like 10 years. You know what I mean? Not to hesitate. I still think it's hard. I still think it's so hard though. Like responsibility makes it so hard. Yeah. You know, financial responsibility. But you're right.
Starting point is 00:36:57 And like, just what I try to do is just say more yes. More yes to a certain thing. Like I'm trying to, yo, Peter, I'm trying to just hang out with my friends more. I love this for you. Yeah. I just want to hang out with my girlfriends. Like we have like, I have separate friend groups and some of them have joined forces. Like the other day in my girl S and then Natalie came.
Starting point is 00:37:17 You know, me and Natalie have a great friendship. My friend Molly. Like I'm just trying to hang out with my friends more. And I appreciate, like, Ricardo's been so supportive of me because of, you know, I've lost two of my best friends in less than six years. So you just have to, like, try your best to just like, just love on your people, man. That's all you could do. That's all you could do. All right.
Starting point is 00:37:38 Let's get into an email. This is from Regina. Giving you flowers. Good morning, Ebro, Laura Rosenberg, and everyone behind the scenes that makes the EL Army a frightening fighting force. That would be King Louis, Rassan, and producer Gret. I really wanted that Laura know that even though she doesn't say much, when she does, it's monumental. It's moving and it means a lot. I know you all try not to overshare, but you need to know that the little nuggets you drop do matter.
Starting point is 00:38:08 Today, I swipe my card at the gym. And it said the last time I'd been there was 261 days ago. I returned today because of Laura. Her sharing her health journey will motivates her to walk on the treadmill for an, hour watching her favorite shows. Aw, this helped me leave the house and gave me something to focus on. For today, I retired from the Army 13 years ago after serving 22 years. Oh, God bless you. In the medical field where I deployed in Iraq and Afghanistan, the things I've seen, what I went through along with childhood trauma, I suffer from severe PTSD. Oh, man, this is heavy.
Starting point is 00:38:48 I honestly only leave the house to take my daughter to do. school, practice and attend church. So it's a big deal. 16 years ago, my mother passed away at the age of 58, and my oldest daughter was a year old. My mom never met her first granddaughter because I had to cut her out of my life. To hear Laura mention parts of her story about her father. Words can never express how in a weird way I no longer felt alone in these torturous, aching feelings that I live with every time I look at my daughter and see my mom. So I thank you, ELR, for being you. leaving the plantation and doing you for us. And I hope this was short enough for Rosenberg,
Starting point is 00:39:27 even though he's got what I can still hear him in the back of my head. Keep it short. I love you guys. Wow, Regina. That was very beautiful. I almost got choked up. Yeah, you know, I think, you know, in the past 10 years, we've shared a lot of different, you know, parts of our life,
Starting point is 00:39:47 some more than others. Yeah, I had a very, It's a mulchous relationship with my father, but I felt comfortable sharing the bits that I did because I felt that other people could relate. And the first time I did open up about my relationship with them, I had so many people like email me and DM me sharing their stories. So that's why we do it. But as far as the health journey, guys, I'm just trying to make it look as regular as possible. I'm not out here trying to be, you know, a fitness, a fitness influencer. sir, I'm not trying to fake the funk.
Starting point is 00:40:22 I'm not telling you that I'm going to go every day. I may fall off the bandwagon. You know what I mean? But I'm just a normal human being and I'm sharing the things that have made me feel good. And that's all we can do. You know what I mean? That, it was a lovely email. I totally agree.
Starting point is 00:40:38 And yeah, I think that's all we do. But it is nice to hear that someone specifically your experience. I understood what she was saying because those family things not working out must like, it just it hangs over someone. So to hear that someone, it happens to people and it's not uncommon.
Starting point is 00:40:55 Yeah. I'm sure that is lovely. So, no, that was, that was touching. And by the way, I just want to clear one thing up though. I'm not the long email hater. She is. Why do y'all always put their shit on me?
Starting point is 00:41:10 Like, Ebro does stuff. No, Rosenberg always. No, I don't. Guys, I know I do plenty of annoying things. But just attribute the one. that are actually mine. I love a long email. Laura's the one who goes,
Starting point is 00:41:22 hurry it up, or I'm going to fall asleep. That's Laura. It's me. It's me. And Ebro just doesn't even listen to y'all. He doesn't even, I'm the only one who listens.
Starting point is 00:41:32 Am I wrong? I listen. Sometimes. Yeah, for the first, that was about you. All right. Hey, ELR fam. First off, love the new program.
Starting point is 00:41:45 I'm from Chicago, so never listened to you on Hot Night but would catch the very limited content on YouTube and it got me hooked. Now I listen every day on the way to work. Okay. I've got a friend who I think would benefit greatly from validate me based on what Rosenberg has said about its message. He's in his early 40s, married with a couple of kids. He has recently been vocal about his struggles with mental health.
Starting point is 00:42:07 He has never sorted out his career. He quit or was fired from job after job. In both scenarios, it's always the company's fault, not his own. He's done therapy, quit that too. Meds quit that too. He may be back on meds or therapy, but I can tell he sometimes gets frustrated talking about these things.
Starting point is 00:42:25 So I try not to ask unless there's an open window. How would you go about suggesting something like validate me without seeming like an armchair therapist? Well, a couple of things. Number one, I'm not a therapist. So, you know, validate me covers a lot of things. First of all, I'm figuring out what the hell it covers. It's going to be a years-long process.
Starting point is 00:42:47 and me figuring out what the show is, but it, you know, it may be specific to things that relate to him. It may not be. I don't know. But it sounds like, you know, you have a friend who's just got a share of issues. Listen, I always want people to recommend the podcast, but I would just say, does he know that you listen to this show? Because you could like find, you know, maybe just be like, yo, I listen to my favorite show. The guy has a new show. I'm listening to it's tight. I actually think you'd like it. Like, maybe you don't have to like, like, you know who Rosenberg is? Like, you just like a kind of. kind of, you know, maybe there's a way there. But again, I don't know that it's specifically going to be the thing that speaks to him. It sounds like he's dealing with a bunch of stuff.
Starting point is 00:43:25 Your mental health is such a catch-all, like, term. Everyone's problems are so specific and different. And we just kind of like throw things that like, get in therapy. Yeah, you know, fix it. It's like all of these things are so complicated. And sometimes it's not a fix-it thing. Sometimes just learning how to live with things. Yeah, yeah, exactly.
Starting point is 00:43:50 Just figuring in. And, you know what I, and like hopefully getting, I think an important step is one of my favorite things that happened in my journey of getting to where I am now, which is still a journey, but getting to this point in it. I think that the stuff that I did that led to the end of my first marriage really served to hold up a mirror to myself. you know and like I have not been able to fix all of it I can't like there there are things that in my life all the time I'm like I want to do that better I I was annoying in that way I wish I'd been better in this way but I really do think that it like held up a mirror in a way that
Starting point is 00:44:31 was super helpful for me where at least I can now understand yeah like my shortcomings um I remember a couple of years ago you got like really annoyed with me remember that I don't you probably remember this but like you got really annoyed me one day during the show because I was being I I get very judgmental at random times based on disagreement and it's like you previous to it I still like again I still did the asshole thing like where I was being like what why do you think that what do you basically my face is saying you're an idiot that's what my face is saying and I know that now my face and tone is saying you're an idiot I get it from my dad by the way it's like built into me this like where disagreement has to mean like anger.
Starting point is 00:45:18 Sweet MJ. Oh, God, he's the worst. Yeah, like it's like it's so, it's a very like, like, it's like you're being triggered just because I disagree with you. And then my dad is just like me, wait 24 hours. He's now on the other side. The thing that he was looking at you like you're a moron for thinking. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:45:37 He now thinks and I can be that way. Yeah. I was happy that. when the moment happened, I remembered like five minutes later. I was like, I'm really sorry. I didn't mean to do that. But like I was at least able to, when pointed out, like, why would you point it out if you didn't mean it?
Starting point is 00:45:54 Why would my friend not point it out if it didn't like hurt their feelings that I did it? Yeah, yeah, yeah. I still can do it. I just am better at catching it and recognizing it. And I'm grateful that now there's a, that all of my dumb behavior, held up a mirror of like, oh my God, there's all kinds of stuff you do that's not great. And I think it's important for us to have that. Yeah, I think one of the key things in life is like just being honest with yourself and so many
Starting point is 00:46:23 people are afraid. Like, it's okay if you have issues with this, if you're insecure about that. Like, why am I lying to myself about a certain thing? Because you're lying to yourself to just mask your pain to make yourself feel better, but it's still there. But it's still there. And so now you've created this whole version of the world. where everybody's this and everybody's that and you're like but what are you?
Starting point is 00:46:47 Yeah. And so like my favorite thing I can say about where I am because I'm I've got Plenty that's not ideal. But I love that I could know what my shortcomings are like I know I know 1,000% what every person I work with now at least at least in my immediate jobs Not WWE where I'm there monthly I gotta be honest I think they all think I'm pretty Charming and wonderful I'm not there very very often. I'm always on time. I dress well. I'm friendly and I leave. It's not the same. It's one day a month, two days a month, it's easy. But like at ESPN and here, the people who deal with me every day, I'm happy about the fact that I now understand more fully how they view me. Some
Starting point is 00:47:32 of the things can't change. Like, and I'm not going to continue to beat myself up for things that are not, I'm not able to do. I can continue to try to do better. Yeah. But I'm also not going to be like, listen, I know that Don and Alan get irritated that our meetings start at 2.30 and I often walk in at 240. I know that. I know.
Starting point is 00:47:54 I do. And I will do my best. I also have 90,000 things that go on throughout the day. My life is very different. I have another full-time life, whatever. And I struggle with it. I haven't given up. Some weeks I do really good.
Starting point is 00:48:08 and some weeks I come up short. But like, I'm aware that that's how they feel. And I can at least like try to be as a result, if I know I'm doing something that irritates them, at least be aware of it, try to make up for it in other ways, acknowledge it, try to still be like, you know, do all the things I can. Whatever, I'm rambling.
Starting point is 00:48:28 It's just never ends. The self-work just never ends. But to your dude, just recommend it like you would any other show. You know what I mean? Like, hey, this really touched me. Enjoyed, you know, this podcast. You said it affected you. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:48:40 So check it out. And it might not affect him, by the way. So, you know, I can't. By the way, I was told I got to do this. I added it this week. I added it to yesterday's show. I didn't have a trigger warning on the show. And I got multiple messages from people like, hey, Rosenberg, I love this.
Starting point is 00:48:56 I love that you're doing it. But you need a trigger warning because you're talking about things that for people who are coming might be like, whoa. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And someone said the Peter Guns episode, like, sent them. Oh, man. Man, yeah. Because you got a molestation and all kinds of like, you know, we don't go into super graphic detail about anything.
Starting point is 00:49:16 But you still. But it's all around stuff that's, you know. So that part too. Work in progress. All right. Just add the trigger warning as a. No, no, it's there. It's there now.
Starting point is 00:49:24 I've warned. I've warned. Do we have another video? Do we find the video? This is the beat of 250. And we're celebrating Black Music Month, a celebration of the legacy, creativity, and global influence of Black Music. Today we honor the timeless sound of Charday.
Starting point is 00:49:40 Born in Nigeria and raised in England, Charday became one of the most distinctive and elegant voices in modern music. Alongside her legacy band, she gave us unforgettable classics like Smooth Operator, your lover's king, no ordinary love. And by your side, her music blended soul, jazz, R&B, and Caribbean influences
Starting point is 00:49:58 into a smooth, emotional sound that remains unmatched. This year, Shade would be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, recognizing her lasting influence across generations of artists and fans worldwide. At 67 years old, her legacy continues inspiring audiences everywhere. Chaudet prove that greatness does not have to be loud. Sometimes true power is calm, soulful, elegant, and unforgettable in every single way. Black Music Month Amplified Voices is sponsored by AARP.
Starting point is 00:50:32 It's been too long, cowboy. From Disney and Pixar. So that's Lily Pat. Where are you? Some sort of old man toy? What? She thinks you're old because you're bald, Woody. Toys are for play
Starting point is 00:50:44 Tech is for everything Toy Story is back I want to talk to you device The long toys Twitter wall through that I responded I have plastic fingers Featuring Taylor Swift's All New Song
Starting point is 00:50:53 I knew it I knew you Available now No way Oh yeah Disney and Pixar's Toy Story 5 Now playing only in theaters Tickets available now Are you one of those media
Starting point is 00:51:03 strategy people Clicking through slides scrolling spreadsheets Yes? Good! This is for you Because on Spotify There's an audience that's different Locked in, loyal, invested.
Starting point is 00:51:14 They're called fans. Fans don't just listen to music. They feel seen by it, like it belongs to them. So when your brand shows up on Spotify, that's who you're talking to. And you're right next to artists like me, Lizzo. So, are you ready to talk to fans? Spotify Advertising. You're among fans.
Starting point is 00:51:35 You're on. Go! Hi, guys. Okay. I've been a longtime fan. Anyway, I wanted to know. If you guys are going to be bringing back Whiteish Wednesdays, and I think you should have some type of segment
Starting point is 00:51:50 where maybe people can call in, play some of their music, maybe have some type of little context. That way, you know, people ain't talking about copyright this, copyright that, and maybe you can give the newbies some time to shine. Anyway, I also had an idea for your ending, your closing song. I can't hear it ever since I started doing it. Anyway, if you like that, maybe you can send me a cup of something. Bye.
Starting point is 00:52:26 Oh, she's cute. That's funny. That's very funny. I'm not mad. It's hard because we're on YouTube and we can't really play music. No, we can, but we can on Patreon, but Ebro just seems like, I think he seems hesitant about doing Whiteish Wednesday without like, and I get this actually, a new format that would make it work because, like, we don't have everybody here.
Starting point is 00:52:53 Yeah, it's hard because it before. we had our phone of FOTS and they would Zoom No, they were on the phone, actual phone lines listening live and rocking with us. Aubrey was on Zoom, but, yeah, we don't have, I mean, we could do a, we could do like, listen, we could try one week like just you versus Ebro with the phone of Fots. And like it's a different version of the game,
Starting point is 00:53:18 but maybe we can make it work. And even, I think that even you could join us, maybe we have producer Griff play some songs. Like maybe you don't necessarily have to have a DJ. he just like plays them. No, of course. We don't DJ them anyway. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:53:29 All he needs to do is sit over here, take this. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. And he could play the songs and we could all, yeah, why not? We could probably do that. I think we should. I thought from the very beginning that was going to be like one of the main things we did on Patreon, but we haven't yet. So I'm curious from the patrons. You guys are the ones who support the show.
Starting point is 00:53:46 Like would patrons want that? Yeah. I guess you should let us know. Because I've seen complaints that, like some people like that we play music on the Patreon and some people don't. I know. I don't want to hear this right now. And particularly, like, her suggesting new music, I'll tell you one thing.
Starting point is 00:54:00 I do not think people want to hear new music on Patreon. Like us being like, check that. Maybe one pick where it's like, hey, here's one thing we think you're going to like. Yeah. But, like, just sitting there and being like, let's play you. I mean, this week on Patreon,
Starting point is 00:54:12 we play people New Northwest. Is that what they wanted? Congratulations. You played yourself. Wait, producer Grove is you? Pete, we haven't played name that white. Oh, my God. This.
Starting point is 00:54:24 And don't, didn't you set up a whole thing? thing for it? Oh yeah. We're ready. Do we still have it? Yeah, for name that white. It's in a system. I just have to reload it. You'd have to reload it. I brought it up and I thought that was going to be really fun. But like, let me, okay. Ebro is not, if you don't like prep him and tell him what, like, he thinks it's just we're going to go rogue and fall off the whales and it's going to be the worst thing ever. There was a time when I was like, let's just play it. And he like, we didn't end up playing it. So I would like to play name that white. I think it'll be very fun. It'll be so fun. because I don't know anyone, so it'll be funny.
Starting point is 00:54:59 Neither of you know anyone. I mean, like, and yet you both know a couple of people, but generally neither of you know anyone. I think it would be fun, so let's see. Anyway, we have to wrap up. Yes, I forgot. We have things to do. Also, Laura, real quick, have any of you seen obsession yet?
Starting point is 00:55:15 No. Obsession has become, so I didn't know anything about it until a week ago, and then my brother saw it, and then my friend Jeff told me saw it, and then Jeff told me it is becoming one of the biggest horror. movies of the last thing. Oh, see, no, no, no, no. Calm down.
Starting point is 00:55:29 Not everything is the scariest thing ever. It's like a mainstreamy horror movie. I don't think it's like insane. I don't like any of them. People are saying maybe Oscar nominated kind of movie. You can't see anything scary? You're like the merchant of death. Why can't you see a scary movie?
Starting point is 00:55:44 I don't know. Because I don't want nightmares, Rosenberg. You're not going to get nightmares. I mean, I don't even know what's about it. Is it gory? I don't know. I guess I should see it first. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:55:51 But this is going to sound like a random stat, but it's actually, I think, not and kind of cool. This past, last weekend was its fifth weekend. Okay. Out. It was the biggest fifth weekend in the history of film. No, no, that's not nothing. Okay.
Starting point is 00:56:09 That's a crazy stat. Because I thought you're going to be like, you know, on a Tuesday on a random leap year. So think about it. Think about the movies that have lasted that are really big, that last 12, 20 weeks, whatever, big movies. It had a bigger fifth weekend than Michael, for example. Okay, okay, okay. And no one knew what it was when it came out. It's just been building and building and building.
Starting point is 00:56:28 I still haven't seen it, but I'm like really curious because it's supposed to be amazing. All right. This obsession. I don't even know what it's about. Watch it is. You can tell me about it. All right. So speaking of obsession, people are obsessed with the New York Knickerbockers.
