Starting point is 00:00:00 Just don't call in a podcast. The Ebro-Lora Rosenberg show. Off the toilet, ladies and gentlemen. You know it's going to hit different when he's fresh off the toilet. The whole show hits different. You're going to have the breakfast turn into the morning situation. Then I'm ready to go. Right.
Starting point is 00:00:42 However, some idiot. Yo, man, do, I want to know people who have, like, got in. in a vehicle situation that is literally affected people's lives. What you mean? You mean like you were in the situation and you were like, because this happened, I'm now sitting here knowing I effed up everyone. Destroyed everyone's day. Because that happened today.
Starting point is 00:01:07 A man, so if you're a truck driver and you drive in and out of Manhattan or whatever. Maybe they could have the story, a story like that. They may have it. There's certain, you can't take the Holland Tunnel if your truck is of a certain height. You can't take the Lincoln tunnel if your truck is a certain height. They're taking the CWB and there's signs. And they're supposed, I mean, I'm sure there's somebody at the, what they call it, the Port Authority who's going to get in trouble today, who didn't measure the truck, you know,
Starting point is 00:01:30 because those guys are those cops and Port Authority guys are sitting there at the tunnel. They're supposed to stop trucks. Oh, if it's close, they should look and be like, oh, this is meant I'm making it. Right, you might have to turn around. You got to go to the other thing. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Someone drove there. And it's happened before.
Starting point is 00:01:44 It's not like the first time it's never happened. But somebody took a truck that was too tall. into the Lincoln tummy. And so what does that mean? And block both. So does that mean they get in, though, and then realize it's too tight? Potentially, yes.
Starting point is 00:01:59 I think as they get like wedged in, they're like, uh-oh. Bro, that has to be the worst feeling of all time. So now a beautiful, and by the way, it is a beautiful morning in the city. Beautiful morning in the city. I'm sure people got in their cars like, oh, it's not raining this morning.
Starting point is 00:02:15 Okay, cool. There's no fog this morning. It's an August Wednesday, so it's not as packed as like a September, October Wednesday. Right, right, right, right. It's cool. You can still move around. What? 90 minute wait. Oh, my gosh.
Starting point is 00:02:28 It said 90. 90. It started. When I got there this morning, it was at like 45. And I was like, that's completely abnormal. That's already. So I'm already looking for another route. Went a whole other route.
Starting point is 00:02:41 By the time I got- able to get out before you were in, like, line. Yeah, yeah. I saw it and was like, this ain't. Because I already know what it looks like. Like this don't look normal. So something's going on. So I already, you know, changed my route.
Starting point is 00:02:53 By the time I got to the other route, I'm listening to 10-10 wins, and they're like, it's an hour. By the time I got here, they're like, it's 90 minutes. And the truck is still stuck there. So there's people, their whole day ruined. Man. Your entire day is ruined
Starting point is 00:03:09 because someone tried to drive a truck into an area that they're not supposed to be driving a truck. So then, depending how deep it's, wedged in, do they need help getting Yes. You know what now? They're going to get like pulled out. Well, no, I mean, if it's really bad, how are they even doing it? What's the process to even getting? I'm sure. I'm sure it's happened before. I know.
Starting point is 00:03:29 I know how, but they know how. Someone knows how, but like, they're there. They're doing it, but everyone's morning's ruined. I just, and you're just. Because here's a deal. Everybody who would normally be going that route is going to take different routes. Those different routes are going to now be longer than they normally are. And now those, So you're talking about hundreds of thousands. Yes.
Starting point is 00:03:50 Effected. Yes. Because you, well, no, because of a multi, because a few people botched it. Yeah, a couple. The driver botched it. And whoever's supposed to keep an eye on. You should be watching on it. Well, also botched it.
Starting point is 00:04:02 That feeling's got to suck. You know. Even just breaking down in the tunnel where it's not your fault at all. I think about that all the time. It would be terrible. Yeah. And that's just one lane. That's one lane.
Starting point is 00:04:11 But still, you got, they got to get a truck in there to get you out. So then they're going to block other trucks or block a whole. whole other way to come an opposite way to get you out. I'm shocked it doesn't happen more. I don't like tunnels. I'll be honest. I do not like tunnels. Nobody, I don't think anybody's like, woo, I get to. Yeah, like the potential of being stuck in here is, it's, I think anybody that drives through a tunnel every day is like, yes.
Starting point is 00:04:35 Tunnel, but like under a river. Bridge is better, right? Yeah, if you have to pick, but even that, you know, windy days, you're feeling the wind the wind push you around and all that. Or you're driving next to some super, tall long truck and you see and you ever been driving extra trucks and you can see the wind like pushing on the trailer this none of it's good if natalie's watching the show she's like see this is why we're never leaving i'm not doing this never doing this never doing it and look there's tons of
Starting point is 00:05:04 options i you know look i still got here in a decent amount of time if you know how to move around but you know it's yeah there's been times there's been times if you're in manhattan and you got to go back to Jersey. There's been times where literally there's an accident way out in Jersey, like on the turnpike that shut down the turnpike. Oh yeah. Which shuts down all the bridges and tunnels, and not shuts down, but traffic gets backed up so much where it was like, I remember a couple of times. It was like a three hour wait to get out of Manhattan. You might as well just park. Brough. Just park, park, get on train or get on ferry. Figure it out. I was going to mention this the other day too speaking of just related to new york traffic nonsense the other day i got two envelopes with tickets
Starting point is 00:05:49 that they hit me for on the west side highway okay speeding at 41 in a 30 that's speeding no bro bro i mean if you spend time in new york city the idea that if the west side highway is open 41 would be a ticket isn't it's insane well here's a deal It's insane. Speaking of 10-10 wins, just heard a news report today that they're going to crack down on people speeding, even more. That people are looking at speed limit signs as optional in New York City too frequently. Well, apparently that, I wonder if this is related. Because why did I just get it right now?
Starting point is 00:06:30 I've been driving on the west side highway for 20 years. 41 in a 30. Where were you on the west side? Down here. Down here. So when I get on. Once you're below 57th Street, you're getting hit with cameras. It's from where.
Starting point is 00:06:42 when I turned on the highway after work one day. So right by old hot, kind of over there. Oh, yeah. So yeah. No, that's not even the Westside highway. That's West Street. That's West Street. That's 12th Avenue.
Starting point is 00:06:54 There's no, that's not even a highway. Once you get above 57th, I guess you could say it's the, it's what do they call it, 9A, Henry Hudson, whatever. But you know what I'm talking about. If you're at that time of day driving down there and traffic's moving, 41 is just rolling with traffic. That's just you're trying to. And they probably hit all those people with it.
Starting point is 00:07:12 Oh, no. They're hitting everybody. They're hitting everybody. So we don't need anybody moving out of the city with any sort of pace. Let's slow this thing down. That's right. Well, first of all, remember, they don't want you driving at all. Right. But they're going to let us keep driving.
Starting point is 00:07:23 They're just going to keep on. You're going to keep driving. You're going to pay this congestion price and you're going to go to speed limit. Or you're not. We're going to take you. Even better. Even better. You're not.
Starting point is 00:07:33 Don't worry. No points. Don't worry. No points. You can do this every day. You can go 41 every day. Every day. We'll charge you 50 every day.
Starting point is 00:07:41 It's 50? 50. That's how you know they're not even serious. 50 is how you know they're like, we just want to take the money. Just give us 50. Because if it was a real ticket. 95.
Starting point is 00:07:49 95. 15. No, 50's just ping. You'll give it up again. If you let that, if you let that 50 add up in your late fees. Who do you think we're talking to the king of the late fees? I know.
Starting point is 00:08:02 And then you might get a boot like I did this morning. No. Way. Reson got hit with a boot. Bow. Oh my God. Wait, why are you not paying your tickets? Because right away, you let it sit for a little bit
Starting point is 00:08:17 Right And then I come back to it when it goes into judgment And then you get the email, you're like, hey, you're at risk They're getting... Y'all don't have the app? I have the app, the pay of a dispute. I pulled it up. So I parked on 26th, was walking to the studio.
Starting point is 00:08:30 How many tickets I got? Turn back around. Let me just make sure I'm good. I check every month. All right. And then as I was walking back, I saw the marshal. Booboo. Wait, wait, wait, wait, I'm here.
Starting point is 00:08:40 Nah, bro. They got cameras. I ready put it on. But I only got one in judgment. Pulled it up for damn. All right, I'll pay it right now. So you paid it right now. $800 took it off the car.
Starting point is 00:08:49 And they took it off the car. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh, you know what? You got lucky that he was there, right? If he's not there, that's a way more. Even if he had left, I still would have to pay for it. No, but you can put the coding. But then you're waiting and figure.
Starting point is 00:09:00 No, you put the code in and you take it off. You just got to drop the boot off at one of those locations. I never even been through this. I didn't even know. They make it easy. But again, they make it easy so they can just get that money. Don't worry about the boot. Wait, but why?
Starting point is 00:09:13 And then the boot is 185 on top of whatever you owed. So I probably really owe like $5.50. They add the 185. Now it's $750. These guys. Do you remember the girls? I think it was in Louisiana or Atlanta who used to go around popping boots? No.
Starting point is 00:09:31 Oh, yeah. You were like they're heroes. I remember those heroes. You don't know, Shiros. Shiro. They were going around popping boots off. That was fire. I got four tickets.
Starting point is 00:09:42 What are you? What app is this? This is pay or dispute? It's a New York app. Yeah, it's been around for a long time. I've never used the app. I just go to the website and type in my license plate. No, there's an app.
Starting point is 00:09:50 You just go. I check every month. Just to make sure. Just to make sure. That's smart. I should get this app? I mean, if you want to make sure. Man.
Starting point is 00:10:00 You know what I mean? Anyway, what you got today for the rundown, Laura Stout? We're going to cover just some fun stuff. Tyler the creator announced like a dope lineup for Camp Lognog. We never discussed a drop trailer. Everyone's very excited about that. And then just a cool video of an emotional moment, Jay Cole had on stage.
Starting point is 00:10:20 So we'll cover all of that and more. One of my favorite videos came on my timeline yesterday. It was Fox News. Oh, God, which one? Covering, where is it? Did it make, yeah, here it is. Clip 13. I know you're going.
Starting point is 00:10:36 Yeah, Laura, New York Socialist Mayor is teaming up with the Theater Development Fund to give high school students I don't think Rassan putting in both channels, did you? Zorn Mandani lacked a set designer. So he staged a low-budget production instead. Can you break down what's happening? New York. I wanted to film the video now because we can't hear it. I don't know what's going on.
Starting point is 00:10:58 What if you push an A-Tam up further? Not going to happen? It's not coming through. It's not coming through. What happened to the audio, Rassan? Do you have an answer? It's in one channel. Okay. At least you know.
Starting point is 00:11:10 It would have been less, it would have been more. frustrating if you didn't know. No, I know. But you were right. I knew. You just want you knew. Well, he said it wasn't and then I you know I let him go ahead. But anyway, it was Fox News. Okay. Because you know mom, Donnie said, hey, I want more people to be able to go to Broadway, especially students who can't afford that. So I'm going to have a lottery basically to help kids who can't afford this. It's an amazing thing. Amazing program. Not to cut you off, but you know how many kids want to experience it? Like we had a few, we had a few people, donate to Envision and we took like 15 students to see Hell's Kitchen.
Starting point is 00:11:47 We took them to a couple all first time experiences. Like all these kids born and raised in New York were like, oh my God, never had the opportunity to do this. So crazy. It's so special to be able to do it because it's, theater's expensive, it's amazing and I, you know, they work very, very hard. But there's also an opportunity to help people because they do a ton of shows
Starting point is 00:12:04 and there are seats that are empty and seats that get sold cheap to people who know. Yeah. There's all these ways to go to Broadway. Yeah. And so why not? Pull aside. Well, according to Fox News, you know. So what happened?
Starting point is 00:12:17 Well, according to Fox News, he should be going after the unions that make the prices too high for people who were. Then they made fun of him for doing the announcement in multiple language. Of course. He did it in Chinese. He did it in Mandarin, Spanish. He did the Mandarin himself. He did the Mandarin himself. Well, I might make fun of it.
Starting point is 00:12:39 I got to hear it. I might make fun of it. Well, what's the blonde ladies? name. Laura Ingram? Yeah, she was like, oh, he sounds pretty good. He had a great accent. She actually bigged him up for his Mandarin accent.
Starting point is 00:12:50 Good for her. I don't know if I trust her Mandarin accent knowledge, but okay. I mean, oh, here we go. Let's have it. Yeah, Laura, New York Socialist Mayor is teaming up with the theater development fund to give high school students free Broadway tickets, which seems like a nice thing. But Zorman Mondani lacked a set designer, so he staged a low budget production instead. Not y'all talking about low-budget productions.
Starting point is 00:13:12 New York. I wanted to film this video in front of a real red curtain, but all we had is the screens for me. Why? Because I'm not on Broadway. I'm in the storage room of an office building on Murray Street and Broadway. But that's okay, because the magic of life theater could never be captured on video anyway. It's something that must be experienced in person. It was a funny little bit. Leave it to a socialist lawyer to push a lottery for theater tickets, but then to make sure that all the new New Yorkers could understand his theater. pitch he delivered it in Bengali, Spanish, and Chinese. Shudu Taina, John Lottry, the Enter Corba.
Starting point is 00:13:50 Visit this site web to know how to participate in the sortteo until the lunace. I'll put it out of Chinese, but I want to try it's pretty good. He actually has a good accent. A man of many accents. Now bear in mind, the average theater ticket lawyer is $131 a pop, okay? OK? Wow.
Starting point is 00:14:13 People can't afford this. So I guess they think by luring the high school kids to free tickets that that'll win them over, give them something worth seeing. Yes, you get it. Why don't they restrain the unions that Mandani is such a supporter of? That's what it's exploding the cost, mounting a Broadway show. And it keeps a lot of new shows out of New York. But here's the other kicker.
Starting point is 00:14:33 He's appealing to the Bangladeshis and the Chinese. Guess what the percentage of people who are actual Broadway audience members are? Now the Broadway League, that's the Producers Association, they just did a study. 66% of the Broadway audience is white. 11% is Asian. You idiot. Yo, these people are so stupid. I cannot.
Starting point is 00:14:57 I knew that would say that. I cannot. That was my favorite video yesterday. Like people, the people actually watch that. By way, Laura Ingram's one of the worst human beings on the planet. And she didn't even really seem into it. She kind of was looking at him like, I don't know if we got a lot here. Even for me, I don't think we have anything here.
Starting point is 00:15:14 She was like, how am I going to hate? How am I going to hate? Can you believe it? By the way, I would have thought the percentage was higher. I'm not even. Well, not only that, but why wouldn't you do it in different languages so other people, oh, because you don't like inclusion. You don't want inclusion.
Starting point is 00:15:29 Yeah, these people are insufferable. You don't want inclusion. And then you know why the, but by the way, you know why people want to make more at unions? Well, because the corporations that you conservative support keep running the prices of. Right. The idea that you would go to the union, what union? Screen actors, guilt? No, I think Broadway has their own.
Starting point is 00:15:46 I mean, the Broadway, so the actors of Broadway? The workers, no, the workers, the people who set design. They're the reason. It's them. It's not the companies that put on the shows, own the theaters, do all the things. Oh, not even that, the gas prices. Remember, these are, the prices go up because things cost to be delivered. Right.
Starting point is 00:16:03 Things cost to be made. Things cost, you know what I'm saying? Like, it costs more to get to work. So I need to make more money because you raise the tolls. But also, and then on top of that, aren't some of these theaters owned by massive companies? Some of them, yeah. And shows are at times put on by, like, Michael isn't getting produced by some little mom-and-pop producer. I don't believe so.
Starting point is 00:16:26 Oh, yes, Griff, who you have so over there? Oh, man. You're one of those. You caused a massive traffic back up once? Hello, can y'all hear me? Can I hit me? We can hear you just fine. Yes.
Starting point is 00:16:42 ELA family what's going on man good morning good morning sir listen yes sir I was listening to your conversation about truck drivers and stuff ruining traffic for everybody and I've been that guy before so see oh man so just for the con bro just for the context all right so I'm a UPS driver in Brooklyn I work in Bay Ridge okay I drive a regular package car every day but sometimes I drive the big joints the van yeah so okay so boom a couple of years ago I'm moving from Brooklyn to Queens, right? So I had to rent one of the big U-Haul trucks, right? The long story short, a few of my guys from the job that, you know, they helped me move out to Queens, whatever, whatever. Now, I just came off knee surgery, so my boy, he drove the truck for me to the location where I moved at.
Starting point is 00:17:28 Now, after we all moved and all that, everybody split up, I said, you know what, I'm going to drive the truck back to Brooklyn where I rented it from. So I didn't remember the route that we took to get there. I'm thinking I know is where I'm going, right? And then I'm thinking, all right, I'm a truck driver. I got this. I know what I'm doing. I, whatever. I end up on the Grand Central Parkway.
Starting point is 00:17:48 So I'm driving. Everything is good. Traffic flowing. Smooth. All right. So as you mentioned earlier, you see the signs on a little, like the little underpasses. It says that your truck got to be in certain height, right? Mm-hmm.
Starting point is 00:18:00 I don't remember the exact, like, number. I think the thing says something like, you can't drive under this bridge if your truck is over 10 and a half. Well, something like that. I remember my truck said 12 feet. So as I'm coming up to the underpass, bro, I jammed the bricks so hard. Oh, so now, so now sitting there, I'm trying to figure out how am I going to get this truck off the highway, right? So as I'm sitting, it's only two lanes. Oh, people hate your guts.
Starting point is 00:18:33 It's like a little awkward way I got to go under. So it's something like the Holland Tunnel. It's just two lanes on the Grand Tour. So I'm sitting there. I'm calling three ones. one call my wife, yo, what do I do? How do I, whatever, whatever? So I sat there for about 30 minutes, bro.
Starting point is 00:18:47 I look in the rearview mirror. It's about 800 cars behind me just sitting there. I felt so bad. No, man. You should have apologized now. It was crazy. Wait, hold on, hold on. But they were trying, they were going around you also, right?
Starting point is 00:19:00 In the other lane? No. So, okay, so the way it was, I think I kind of was in the middle. Like, as I told myself coming up to it. It's like an all. So you thought you could weave to the middle and still slide under because of those arches in Long Island? You know how the arches are on Long Island to get off? You know why they're made like that too.
Starting point is 00:19:21 To trick people like this guy? No. Well, you know, everything's racial. But I want to enjoy this call. But we'll get to that. It was so that buses couldn't get under them. That's why they're made like that. So buses.
Starting point is 00:19:34 When they planned, when they planned those like to get to Long Beach, those you go under those arches to get to the beaches and all that. get off the highways when they plan that what was his name Robert Mays yeah he thought the city planner was like one of the most white supremacist racist dudes like there's a whole history of how he planned so that black people couldn't catch buses to the beach we want to make sure the buses can't get off can't get off so they can't even go because the underpass keep the underpasses love crazy caught this brother so what did you do bro how did you get out of it hello hello yeah how'd you end up getting out of the situation yeah what happened So basically, as I'm sitting there trying to make phone calls to figure out how to get out the situation,
Starting point is 00:20:18 somebody from a few cars behind came walking up the highway, and he told me, yo, what are you doing? So I told him the situation, he said, listen, you good. I drive 18 Willis for a living, been doing it 30 years. He said, so the sign that you see there, they actually give you a grace period. So if it says 11 feet, you actually can be up to 13, 14 feet. you can make it. They just, you know, you can make it. So I'm going to go in front of you and I'm going to guide you.
Starting point is 00:20:46 He said, trust me, just stay right in the middle and keep the wheels straight and you good. So I did that and I was good money. But I'm looking like, listen, unless they come airlift me out of here, I'm not moving to I'm not going to turn this truck into a convertible, bro. Like, I'm not. And I ain't get the insurance on the truck. Oh, yeah, no. You know, like, I ain't had money to invest.
Starting point is 00:21:08 You know what I mean? That is not money. Thanks for your phone call, man. Thank you. Now, well, so that's a tell, right? So they do give you a grace, right? I'm sure they do. Yeah, yeah, it's not exact.
Starting point is 00:21:21 But they're telling you, don't go over this height. Yeah. I'm sure the person at the Lincoln Tunnel today probably thought there was a grace. You probably thought there was enough. Like, yeah, it's fine. It's a little too high. It's a little too high, but I've been through this before there's a grace. Now you're stuck.
Starting point is 00:21:37 Hundreds of thousands of people stuck in driving. He's a cork. Yo, can you look it up, see if people are still stuck for how long? He's a cork. But I'm not going to lie, though. I think it's hard to say I would do this or I would do that. But I know myself well enough. I definitely would have felt the pressure if I was the guy we just talked to.
Starting point is 00:21:59 I would have tried. I would have been curious. Like if it's close enough, I think I would have tried. I don't know. Which is stupid. Which, by the way, is probably stupid. Because you can make it worse. You could make it worse.
Starting point is 00:22:10 But you could also. make it through. Right. But with that much pressure, if I was looking at it, it was probably like, let me see, because I'll feel,
Starting point is 00:22:16 the way I would think about it is if you feel it for a second, you stop, and then you back up and you're like, fuck, it's not working. You know what I'm saying? Yeah, yeah, of course.
Starting point is 00:22:24 I'm surprised. That he's obviously a very cautious person that he didn't even give a shock. I don't want to tear the whole roof off this thing, you have to buy it. Right. He didn't have no insurance. Wow, we got more phone calls.
Starting point is 00:22:34 No, they said back to usual traffic. Okay. They got it. 22. miles an hour. Wow, moving they got it out so if you got to be at work at nine o'clock you may still make it so maybe he didn't really get in there maybe he just had to get they just had to back him out maybe they said stuck
Starting point is 00:22:50 this morning if so that's impressive uh laura you sent us in the chat clip 11 people getting fired at the chicken factories and people started fighting people were yelling people were crying the tyson facility in joslin is shutting down leaving more than 2 500 people scrambling this is the letter those workers got this afternoon confirming the plant's permanent closure. Workers will get paid for the next two months, but the job some have leaned on for years is gone. The Tyson Foods plant is located in Jocelyn. That plant began operations in 1983 under the ownership of Iowa beef processors. You can tell by the map, it was a central part to the local and regional economy. But why is a company that's called the area home for so long closing its doors with next to no notice? With the breadcrumbs,
Starting point is 00:23:40 were public as of about 10 days ago on the company's earnings call. Tyson told shareholders they expect losses around $650 million this fiscal year and its beef processing sector alone. Company officials claim cattle shortages and high livestock costs are to blame for that massive loss. But that reasoning doesn't do much for the workers who now only have a few weeks to find where their next paycheck is coming from. KDBC's Elizabeth Ruggiero talked to some of those workers. who learned their career Tyson was over.
Starting point is 00:24:13 For decades, the Tyson Complex and Jocelyn has been the heartbeat of this community, but that beat went silent this afternoon. As workers arrived for their shift, they weren't sent to the production line. They were funneled into the cafeteria to receive a letter that many say felt like a betrayal. People started fighting, people were yelling,
Starting point is 00:24:33 people were crying. I know people that have been here for 30-plus years. I know people that have been here as little as three days. Tyson says the decision comes down to economics. Oh, you don't say. It's so great, right? And isn't that also like the Argentinian beef is making its way in here too?
Starting point is 00:24:51 Well, I'm glad you brought that up. They're Laura Stowles because people forget that didn't we just give the Argentinian government a bunch of money to help with their economy? And then they're also in the cattle business and in the farming business. Big. So is Brazil. Big. So while people
Starting point is 00:25:10 What? Call right now if you're one of those Maga America first people Lots of them listening They're not gonna call them They're not dialing up 844 ELR ELR I don't think they're watching I don't think they're watching
Starting point is 00:25:22 I don't think they're watching Yo how many months we got left for this What do you mean? 30 30 30 months We still here for a minute It's still time Yeah
Starting point is 00:25:36 It's going so good bro It's going so good. It's so great. I'm sick of winning. I'm bored of all the winning. That's for me. Do you feel like you're never going to have, and things are going to go so good,
Starting point is 00:25:47 you're never going to have to vote again? That's what I'm thinking. I'm thinking, why vote again? We should just keep them in office. 2028, they're selling hats about it. They got hats. You're ready. Yes, King Lou.
Starting point is 00:25:58 No, I was going to say what you say. It's 2028. Yeah. Yeah. Well, look, Florida had a primary. And a black woman won, the Senate primary. in the state of Florida.
Starting point is 00:26:10 Angie Nixon. That's clip 17. There she is. Angie Nixon beat establishment Democrat. That's how they're being framed. Or he's being framed Alex Vindman. Now, Angie Nixon, all right, just to give a little backstory. They're calling her a progressive.
Starting point is 00:26:27 I don't know if she's a Democratic socialist. Scary. But what I do know and clearly remember, even before she started running. was when they started taking books out of the schools in Florida, Angie opened a bookstore with all the books. So she's been like an organizer and like in the communities like opening black bookstores and like telling, you know, making sure history is not laws.
Starting point is 00:26:57 Like she's one of those people. And I think she was a state representative also before this gig, before she decided to run for U.S. Senate. But here's the deal. she's got the Democratic nomination in the state of Florida the question now is in a election between her and the Republican nominee who is considered the favorite
Starting point is 00:27:21 can she actually still win? Well, that's the thing about all these races. Same thing with Abdul-Said and Michigan. All of we get excited about all of them. Great sign for the Democratic Party. Can they win? Can they actually win? Which I think is where you get the establishment Dems,
Starting point is 00:27:36 which people have a problem with wanting these more middle of the road candidates to be able to beat a Republican. Right. But you have a very loud, active base inside the Democratic Party that's like you guys don't get it. We don't want that.
Starting point is 00:27:51 Well, no, and also those people aren't activating people. Right. That's the thing. Like, they're not, why would you argue the establishment ones are so good? Take the politics part out of it. We all agree they're better than the other side. That's right.
Starting point is 00:28:05 Everyone agrees. No question. question about it. Which one can win? I'm not getting evidence that these establishment Democrats can win. Because that hasn't happened either, right? Right. That's what I'm saying. We don't have the numbers now. So we just lost it. We just lost the presidential. We lost both houses. Yeah. So I don't understand what part of it making you think that that's working out so well. Yes, King Lowe. Well, I was going to say in this race especially has people freaking out a little bit because I don't know if you guys remember Alexander Vindman, but he was the whistleblower part of the 2019 impeachment
Starting point is 00:28:34 of Donald Trump. Yeah. So he was like, The big part of that, the guy that went on understanding testified against him. So they thought he was going to win and he was a frontrunner for all these years and all these months. And then she came in a DSA candidate. And she is so she is DSA. Okay. Oh, Democratic Socialist. Oh, God.
Starting point is 00:28:55 She came along and upended someone that people thought had motion. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's interesting. A Democratic establishment person. And they said she was outspent like by a gazillion dollars. Is he like, is he an APAC guy? I don't think so.
Starting point is 00:29:10 So he's a pretty good Democrat. She's just more, hey, listen, Ms. Nixon sounds amazing. Go win. Right. Otherwise, I got another button for you. Because if we're going to get all hyped up, you're going to go knock people out who have motion.
Starting point is 00:29:23 The guy went to Donald Trump. Is he good? Now we got to win. Now we got to win. And I think that what you're articulating there is why people are concerned about Democratic Socialists. Can you actually, can they win in the general.
Starting point is 00:29:40 Well, they should be able to... Outside of New York City. Right. Specifically in Florida. Well, in Florida too. And will the people... Ebro talked about this some... I can't remember if it was Patreon
Starting point is 00:29:50 or what show it was. But are you going to activate people, particularly people of color, who we know could be the tide-turning factor in an election? You get those numbers up a little bit. You get a little bit more excitement from young people, black people, they will win the elections.
Starting point is 00:30:09 That's all we need. It's not like the numbers aren't there. But just like you said. And they can get the Latino vote. And the Latino vote. But that's, you know, all those Latinos in Florida. See, but what I'm saying is the difference with some of the Latinos is you're trying to turn them.
Starting point is 00:30:23 Some of these young and black votes, you're not trying to turn them. You just need to activate them. They don't vote the right way. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You just got to get them to the polls. Well, and Angie is, she's a black woman. I hope so, man. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:30:35 Pluses and minuses, depending on you're talking to. Florida controversial being a black woman man what could she stand for well you know chauvinism I mean listen
Starting point is 00:30:47 racism it's all there got a lot of people who claim to be progressive when they see a black woman on their thing are they like it's a real deal
Starting point is 00:30:56 it's a real thing I got a cost it verbally again oh no now now you're it's an epidemic what's going on now what did you do
Starting point is 00:31:05 I was outside The garden MSG yesterday in the last couple of days. I've seen mad people lined up. Okay. So day one, I was like, I wonder what this is about. So yesterday I'm leaving the office and I walk over to the line and I'm like, yo, what are you guys in line for? And they're like Olivia Dean tickets at the box office.
Starting point is 00:31:24 We're trying to get because she's got sold out for sold out shows at MSG. Correct. So I'm like, oh, that's dope, man. Hope y'all get the tickets. Man, it's a great show. Girl turns to me and goes, fuck off. Oh, I thought you were joking. I thought you were saying,
Starting point is 00:31:40 when you said someone was mad at you, because you said it was a great show, I assumed it was like an ELR listener who heard you were viewing the show and was having fun with you. No, this woman just turned to me and goes, fuck off! You're joking.
Starting point is 00:31:51 Swear to God. And that's it? Sitting on the ground waiting in lines and some redhead lady. She was like, you rubbing it. And then that was the next person. Don't rub it in our face. I was like, yo.
Starting point is 00:32:04 And then there were listeners in line. It was like, hey, bro. They saw me get accosted verbally attacked Literally said F off Fuck off And wasn't joking Not at all
Starting point is 00:32:13 Not a smile I walked away like my bad I was like yo my bad I'm just like y'all know yeah In my mind I was like yo But they were obviously hardcore fans They know it's a great show Why are you telling us it's a great show
Starting point is 00:32:26 Why the fuck you think we're in line No no what you did was stunt You did you're not recognizing as that No but it was in retrospect That's why I said my bad I was like, you, the words, it's a great show to people who want to see this show. No, waiting in line since 7 a.m.
Starting point is 00:32:42 It's a great show. No, that is, no, you know what? I don't know what button, but you deserved it. 100%. Congratulations. It's a great show. I didn't have to wait out here like a dummy. Have fun.
Starting point is 00:32:53 Well, see you later. No, no, you deserve everything you got. Yeah, this time I think he deserved it, Pete. Yeah. Yeah. I just can't, but like, it's so interesting who, which artists are big enough at what time for four shows at MSG?
Starting point is 00:33:08 Like I know she's big. I did the research when you said you went to the show. I'm like, oh, wow, she's gotten big. But this fast, that many shows. No, Rosenberg. We live in such weird niche pockets. 7 a.m. with 7 a.m. umbrellas out. Ready.
Starting point is 00:33:21 Protecting themselves from the sun and the rain, waiting for Olivia Dean tickets, MSG. And by the way, all ages, backgrounds, everything. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. She's pop, so it's everything. But even when Cleo So was here at Radio City, She did four shows, I believe. And people were like, four shows?
Starting point is 00:33:38 Who? I'm like, yeah. People were asking me, like, crazy for tickets for Cleo So. But Cleo, that one, the only difference to me is that is Radio City such a huge difference. Like, that's a big show, but it's like $4,000. Sure. She did. Olivia Dean just did 16 of those.
Starting point is 00:33:54 Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. That would have been like Harry Stiles at Radio City. Well, no, Harry Stiles is doing 30 days. But remember, that doesn't make sense to me. None of these make sense. 30 days a month straight They're gone I know I know
Starting point is 00:34:09 And I know Strawberry lemonade Is that his song? Yeah I know I've heard of one song Oh it's watermelon sugar Whatever I call it I went with it right
Starting point is 00:34:19 Strawberry lemon This one yeah What's the difference What is strawberry lemonade Watermelon sugar What's the difference The difference The difference
Starting point is 00:34:28 The difference is The difference is The difference is The difference What watermelon A thing has to produce watermelon sugar I don't even know what that means.
Starting point is 00:34:35 I don't either. But you know what strawberry lemonade is. I do. Thank you. But water, a good watermelon is sugary. So I just don't wrong with it. I'm sure it's innuendo of some sort.
Starting point is 00:34:48 Yeah, but it still feeds the point. I don't get, like, we're living in just the weirdest. Music is just so divided. It's crazy. Well, yeah, it's very fragmented,
Starting point is 00:34:56 yes, to some, but I also just think we're not in that algo. Like, that's a pop algo. Yeah, but I'm telling you, even now like. And we're not at radio.
Starting point is 00:35:07 We're not in radio. And you're not listening to music like you used to. Well, not not radio music and not radio music. No. For sure. It's the only stuff that's on, I'm being told about her. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:35:17 You're not actively seeking. Like when, how, when are you sitting down and going like, I'm going to see what's new? Where and where? And by the way. And where?
Starting point is 00:35:25 And certainly not in pop. But you still see what I'm saying. Yeah, yeah. I hear you. It's not just me. And that's me. No.
Starting point is 00:35:32 I hear you. No. The question I'm asking. The question I'm asking. Asking you as I'm asking everyone. It's not directed at you. I've had this conversation with a lot of people that are like, yo, I don't know what's going on.
Starting point is 00:35:39 I don't know what to listen to. What's good? Like we hear it all time. What's the good hip hop this? What's it? Because it's not like you're turning on the radio and there's a host saying, hey, this is good. This is bad.
Starting point is 00:35:50 This is what it's not happening. They're just playing you the hits. Right? And the things that are already popular. I can't quite pinpoint the whole. There's not a journalist doing it. There's not a magazine. There's no release.
Starting point is 00:36:01 But there are some things like that. It's just. Where? Like me, my goddaughter put me on. To Olivia. Yeah. She loves her. I was like, oh, I was like, let me hear this way too.
Starting point is 00:36:11 I was okay. But you guys are parents. This is what happens to parents. No, but it's still different. It's still 15 years ago, 35 and 40-year-old parents were still bopping to Drake, to, started from the bottom. Because it was on the radio. But now what's on the, and that's the thing.
Starting point is 00:36:32 When I turn on the radio, literally I swear to God the only song I hear on Hot 97 is Chanel I swear to God I think it's just Chanel radio that's all they fucking play bro it's every fucking minute they are a cultureless hole it's no it's no yesterday I'm not kidding I heard Chanel which I hear every one I want to hear a marrow in them turn it on all I hear is Chanel over and over again followed by like last last and songs that we were playing every morning a year and a half like it was bad when we were on but bro
Starting point is 00:37:09 I'm like what you're feeling is how people have felt for the longest we were just in it we were there so we didn't know you're right you're right we were in it what you're expressing is what people been feeling yeah yeah we never listen to the music we turn the music down we were preparing I always kept waiting and by the way and we were so not checked in on what the music was Ebro always knows because of his other job I always was waiting for you to play
Starting point is 00:37:32 That's Apple Music, so don't just other job it. Sorry. That's Apple Music. Very good point. That is Apple Music. They do the Super Bowl halftime. They do? No.
Starting point is 00:37:41 But I was always waiting for you to play the game. Let's just turn up the volume and ask Rosenberg what song this is. Because if you had done it, I would have been like, Chanel? Because you just, it's gone. It is, and evolving over time, it just got worse and worse and worse and worse. And by the way, there's a 19-year-old, 20-year-old right now. listening to the radio or whatever music's popular. And that's what's popular to them.
Starting point is 00:38:07 And they're okay with it. They don't have any context for like it not being okay. You have context. Yeah, no, you're right. And also the Chanel part really bothers me. The song, the words. Why? No,
Starting point is 00:38:18 no. It's like the other brands were expensive enough. They went to Chanel. Has anyone ever stopped in a Chanel store and looked at putting someone in Chanel? Are you going to, order someone? No, seriously. The people listening to the song are not putting anyone in Chanel. And if you do-
Starting point is 00:38:38 Shout to my guy Anton out there. He works for Chanel. If you are a person who listens to the song and who are a regular person and the person your word says, if you love me, put me in Chanel, you are with an asshole. No, I'm pulling the car over. No, you're saying, well, you're with the wrong person. You needed to like. If that's a part of the mandate? You need to be with someone who's worth $100 million.
Starting point is 00:39:00 You want a $5,000 thin shirt? Yeah, because that's what you're getting at. Literally. No, it's expensive. So what I hear, I just go, wow, that's a crazy thing. They say Gucci and I was like, wow, I was crazy. It's Chanel is like... Is Chanel more expensive than Gucci?
Starting point is 00:39:13 Yes. I don't know. Very, yes. Chanel is like, you know, if we're in Paris or whatever, when we pop it all the little boutique stores and don't buy anything, the one we really don't buy anything is Chanel. You go look at the fragrances. You know, a cop of fragrance, maybe.
Starting point is 00:39:27 Yeah, perfume you could get. So what's the order on the high, is it? So where's Louie and Gucci the same? No, Louis is above Gucci too. Got it. Okay, and then. Chanel's above Louis, though. And Louis's stupid.
Starting point is 00:39:38 And Chanel's even more stupid. And so then where's Prada in that? Prada's pretty expensive too. Prada's like between it's Gucci to Louis range, right? I got news for you. It's between Louis and Chanel range. Really? Yeah, Prada's expensive.
Starting point is 00:39:52 And the bag, they're not even leather. I think Laura's frames right now are Gucci, by the way. Well, the frames you can, you can manage. But here's a deal. I've shopped at all of these places. Okay, not frequently, but I have bought things at this. Yes. Once I decide I'm going to buy something at one of these places, I'm not shop.
Starting point is 00:40:11 I don't shop. There's no shopping. You know what you have to get and you go get it. I'm going to go get the thing. I'm not even thinking about it unless the price is something I is crazy. I'm not even thinking about the price. Because you can't, your brain can't process it? I can't process it.
Starting point is 00:40:26 Right. You just take the L and move on. I'm buying this gift. I want this Louisville. Like I love Louis Vuitton denim. So I have several Louis Vuitton denim things that I just have. I wear them once in a while. Okay.
Starting point is 00:40:39 But I really like them. I just buy them. You don't even look at the price because it's going to hurt you. Because in my, which is why I'm asking. No, no, which is why I'm asking is because if I'm going to buy it,
Starting point is 00:40:52 I like it because I like it. Not because I'm shopping or I want to. Because most of my clothes are cheap. What are you saying, bro? What you're saying? No, like most of my clothes are cheap. Like, this shirt is a cheap shirt. I got it.
Starting point is 00:41:05 You know what I'm saying? So if I'm going to buy something expensive and I want this Louis Vuitton denim, I'm just buying it because I want it. Not because I'm shopping and like trying to figure out what's the least expensive versus the most expensive and what's the deal. There's no really even doing that there. So it's all bad. Which is why I don't know the order.
Starting point is 00:41:23 I don't know. Like in my brain, Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Chanel, products, all I'm saying. No, Chanel is different. What are your test? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh, there's a hierarchy? I want to see me and Laurel right. Let me see.
Starting point is 00:41:34 Oh, then Lachenele to me feels like number one. Luxury brand guide at the top is Hermes. Yes, we know that. Chanel and Della something I never heard of. That's a supreme luxury. Okay. After that is Bulgari, Dior, Cartier, Goiard, and then something I never heard of. After that is Gucci, Fendi, Prada, Burberry, Jivanchi, Celine, Bortegaigua.
Starting point is 00:41:58 Oh, no, Louis was up there. Got it. Yeah. Then after that, you get into the Jill, Sander. I heard of that. And a bunch of Acony Studios are, Alexander McQueen, Issa Miaki. And then at the bottom, the bottom of the barrel. You're slumming it.
Starting point is 00:42:12 Oh, man. Michael Coors, Torrey Birch, Mark Jacobs, Kate Spade, and all of that. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yo. By the way, whenever I see Fendi, I'm like, what year is this? Fendi, I only think of, like, L.L. Cudda. I swear to God. Right, dude.
Starting point is 00:42:28 It's all been around. long time. I know. No, I know. But if someone's like, I'm going to Fendi right now, like, word, are we in like a UTFO video? What is going on? You have to really want a specific thing. I guess. Yeah. I'm not knowledgeable enough to know. Where'd you get this just on the internet's? The brand guy. Yeah. By the way, the only thing that I would notice a difference is the bottom. I know the bottom, those bottom brands are like mid-tier brands or whatever, the Tory Birches. I know that that's not on the level. Dior and Chanel, those things are expand. I never, I never, I never. I never. I never. I never. knew that there was a level of like Gucci was below Dior and all. I never knew that.
Starting point is 00:43:04 Yeah, bro. I mean, I don't think anyone thinks of it consciously. Let me put it this way, though. You can go to places and see regular repugged people who like sucked it up and got some Gucci. They're not sucking it up and getting Dior. It's just, it's out of control. No, you're not sucking it up and getting Chanel. Chanel is a very specific thing that you want and you're going to go get it and you know you can afford it. And you're not me. So that's what you're not. I was trying to articulate. There's no, if you have to suck it up to be into one of these brands, you shouldn't have one of these brands.
Starting point is 00:43:36 Yeah. That was, that was right. That's my point. It's like you, like, my point is like, I'm, I don't know that there's a tear because if I want it and I can afford it, I'm going to get it. Otherwise, I'm not getting it. Yeah, but, but the point, the point is the song is telling people, it's making it sound normal. No, no, no, no, no, it's not normal.
Starting point is 00:43:59 And by the way, I want to tell you, it's not normal to not know what your denim jacket cost at Louis Vuitton. I'm going to tell you, it was $3,200. It was between $2,600. Yes, it was expensive. So you. I look at the final number for sure. So when I sign the thing, I look at the final. He's like, he's trying to explain it.
Starting point is 00:44:18 He's like, no, the thing is I don't get it because I just go in and buy it. And it's just the denim. No, I guess, no. It's just. The clothing is very. No, Laura, it's just the men's denim. But I already know I'm going to spend eight grand. I guess is my already know that's not what I'm trying to say is most human beings can't process I'm going to spend eight
Starting point is 00:44:35 Most human beings probably shouldn't even be looking at these stores I I I I agree how about this? All human beings shouldn't be looking at these stores Probably I mean they do make some really well-made stuff It does last a long time I ain't gonna hold you they got some stuff that lasts a long time You know why it lasts a long time? Because people spend so much money on it that you wear it
Starting point is 00:44:59 twice a year. You can keep it for 30 years. I got some stuff that I bought that's cheap that I don't wear a lot and I went back to it in the closet. It fell apart just from sitting in the closet. There's some stuff that just falls apart because it got too much oxygen on it.
Starting point is 00:45:11 I have a Chanel bag that Ricardo bought me. That was, it's very expensive. It was a gift and he's like, how come you never wear it? I was like, I'm scared to get it, you know, like scratched. I don't want. And he's like, I bought it so you can wear it. And I'm like, I'm nervous about everything.
Starting point is 00:45:26 I saw a comment yesterday. I saw a really cool post. this vintage, my friend Sam sent me this post of a guy had the Nause hoodie from the photo shoot that Nause and all his boys in Queensbridge were wearing for the Elmatic shoot. So it's a blue hoodie that just says Nause and Orange and Elmatic on the back.
Starting point is 00:45:48 It was only for people around at that time. Okay. And he tells the story of how he got it, blah, blah, blah. And then in the, you know, it's one of those things that's getting fed to mad people. So MC searches, in the comments and he's like mine is still in a box has never seen the light of day and I replied I went search what are you
Starting point is 00:46:06 doing take it out of the box and wear it yeah yeah yeah you executive produced the album what are you waiting for you gonna give it like are you selling it one day we we spend people are collectors but we're too precious bro yeah you gotta wear it because then like with sneakers they're gonna crumble they're just gonna fall apart by wait by wait this shirt I just got this for my boy Ted this is a $2,500 dollar luxurious out of bought a Louis Vuitton. Well, I didn't buy it.
Starting point is 00:46:31 I didn't buy it fortunately. Me and Ted have a great working relationship. I help him out a lot. What's the back looking like? Is there more? The back is fire. Because people in the chat were like, what's that? That's actually pretty cool.
Starting point is 00:46:40 Oh, that is fire. This is the parking lot bootleg from WrestleMania 14, the Tyson, when Tyson was a ref. So it's a 98 parking lot bootleg that he got it and it's mint and my size and all the things. I still, I met a guy at VintageCon. Remember I saw you, VintageCon? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. He had this in his bag. He came up to me.
Starting point is 00:46:59 He was like, Rosenberg I got something I think you want you need this 14 bootleg I was like I do bro he was like man it's expensive I was like all right what are we talking about he was like $2,000 I was like you should find someone who's going to spend that I want it and I'm gonna find it but I can't how do you know and how do you know that that's the actual shirt and it just wasn't made last week because I got it from my boy Ted who's this is what he does he's an he's an official guy Ted you know wrestling for sale he this is what he does yeah and also I can at this point
Starting point is 00:47:29 I know it's the Delta tag, it's the right t-shirt. There's certain things. You can tell. A friend of mine took me to a vintage store in New Orleans and they had all these dope cash money, like oldies. Those ones have gotten so expensive. And then I was like, how much are these? 25.
Starting point is 00:47:44 26. I was like, fam, why you bring me here? Why are you? I hate the, I will say that is the one thing that frustrates me about dope, like hip-hop vintage stores. The price tags on them are so ridiculous. And I'm also like, does anyone buy these? Are you just waiting for the day like Travis Scott
Starting point is 00:47:59 or like some you know what I'm saying like bad bunny walks in yeah yeah yeah that he's like I'll take all of them okay and by the way Ted you know I helped Ted early in his career becoming the wrestling vintage guy and then he met bad bunny and bad bunny bad bunny blow it up oh I mean well you didn't blow it up he doesn't blow it up that bunny doesn't post about it at all he just buys mad shit no that's my man yeah yeah he just he sold bad bunny that one of the illest wrestling paintings of all time a painting I think it was I think it was like 10 racks Yeah. It was this, yeah, it was, it was art. It was art for a poster in WWB poster
Starting point is 00:48:34 from 30 years, 25 years ago, but it was the original artwork for it. And Bad Bunny found out that he had it. Yo, he'll just come through on the low though, show up in my man's house and just cock. Oh, the Conejo just be like, what do you have today and walk out with? He's the, he's the real.
Starting point is 00:48:51 So we've spent 20 minutes talk, we went from Chanel the song to vintage, to vintage wrestling things that cost thousands of dollars. Yeah. And if I didn't stop you guys right now, you'd just kept going.
Starting point is 00:49:02 We keep going. And I'm going to tell you something. I hate that shit. We love it. What, vintage? I don't care at all. I have no. It's cool.
Starting point is 00:49:11 It's pieces of history. I don't know why he doesn't like it. I don't. You don't have anything vintage? Let me rephrase it. You don't have any interest. I'm not shopping for vintage. I'm not going to a vintage store.
Starting point is 00:49:20 But you don't take your stuff out of, but you also have stuff. I don't even take it out of storage. I have tons of stuff, but I'm not going to go buy or shop. Or whatever. Yeah, I just kept it because it's memorabilia for me.
Starting point is 00:49:31 But that's what this is too, though. No, but he's not interested in it. And I would say Ebro actually, he's one of those people. He's like search. He's got a storage full of stuff. You know what it's going to turn into? Stuff ESA has to get rid of one day. Oh, my God.
Starting point is 00:49:43 Turn into dust. It's going to be something. Issa just like, oh, my dad had all these shirts. Now they're all mildewed and ruined. Yeah. I need to get rid of these. And you could just be rocking them. Yeah, I'm not going to wear them.
Starting point is 00:49:53 I'm just not. Do you know where the hip-hop shirts are? Like, honestly, you know where they are. They're in a box. So why can't you just bring them? We can't like, then give them away. Let's have a contest. Let us borrow them.
Starting point is 00:50:03 Let us look at that. Let us decorate the studio. Like, I thought we weren't going to decorate the studio with a bunch of shit. I'm just using that. We still got there. So now there's a cereal box of fucking rando hats. Well, not rando, but still the emotional yoke.
Starting point is 00:50:21 Yo, that's all the more reason you should bring in your shirts. I want to see what you got, bro. But he does the same thing. All right. So let's get back to. Let's get back to the run down yet? No.
Starting point is 00:50:31 Laura got the run down Turned out. It's 857. Jesus. Well, y'all was yapping about all the money y'all got. Mr. Louis Vuitton Denham. The Louis Vuitton Denham Don.
Starting point is 00:50:43 I'll bring that in. All right. So Tyler, the creator, announced Camp Flognaw, 2026, two days, November 14th, and 15th, with future, Don Tolliver, Earl's sweatshirt, Isaiah Rashad, Lupe Fiasco, and of course he has a bunch of pop stars that are going to grace the stage,
Starting point is 00:51:03 a lot of special surprises, and of course, Tyler is also going to perform. So I always hear that this show, Rosenberg, you've gone. I always hear that this is so much fun. Oh, I thought you went. I always here for anyone who has, any, all my friends saying, bro, this particular show is so much fun. It's a great
Starting point is 00:51:19 show. It's a great time. I mean, look, let's be honest. He bit Peter Palozo. You know, I'm glad you said, saying actually you know what because they were one of the odd futures one of the first acts and did it every year did it every year and remember there was one year Peter Paloosa was at uh in Brooklyn outside yep in that lot and and and there were carnival rides and stuff in the back yeah yeah but it was they were up for a different reason but you did they let you do Peter Palooza in
Starting point is 00:51:52 yeah yeah yeah that's right but it was it was exactly like that that is fact can't flog It's in a parking lot, Dodger Stadium. Yep. With carnival rides in the back. Yes. What year was that when you were doing it? I think I had them like 12, 13, 14, something like that. So 10 years ago, 12 years ago.
Starting point is 00:52:11 Yeah. I do want to go. You played yourself. I played myself. Well, I mean, it's just another. We played ourselves. Yeah. There were so many things you had the first hip-hop podcast.
Starting point is 00:52:23 You had the first hip-hop show in a parking lot with random carnival rides. Without future. Without future. And now it's Camp Flognaw. It's got an announcement. I do want to go, though. November 14th and 15. It's always at a great time I feel like to go to L.A.
Starting point is 00:52:39 that I always feel like it would be really fun, but I can never go. I can never pull it together. I'd like to go. It's a Saturday Sunday? I don't know. I'm sorry. I can't be in L.A.
Starting point is 00:52:46 I think it's Saturday Sunday. But they have rides. I can bring Maya. It's not, I mean. Who's performing? Issa would like it. Issa might rock with it. Who's on it?
Starting point is 00:52:57 Future. Tolliver, Earl sweatshirt, Isaiah Rashad, Lupe Fiasco, and he has a lot of pop stars. Lola Young, but he has a lot of pop stars and R&B stars that are like surprises. Oh, that aren't listed. Yeah, so far. Oh, Leon Thomas, too. Everybody I love. I love all these people.
Starting point is 00:53:14 This isn't enough to move me to Los Angeles. Oh, my God. Okay. All right. I like Future and Don Tolliver. I'm not running to L.A. to see Future. Wait, what? And Tyler, Tyler, himself.
Starting point is 00:53:22 But I tell. I mean, listen. He's going to perform. I love, I've seen Tyler perform many times. One to his tour here was incredible. He's on a new level right now. After that, Don't type the glass. Yeah, I didn't see Don't tap the glass.
Starting point is 00:53:33 We went to call before you get lost, right? No, I thought we went to Chromacopia, too. I went to Chromacopia, I took Jazz to Chromacobia. I didn't get to see Chromacopia. Not live. Anyway, okay, moving on. Jazz loves Tyler. For all the Snowfall fans, the Drop, the Snowfall Saga
Starting point is 00:53:48 is back with characters Wanda Bell played by my girl Gail Bean and Leon Simmons. They're back, and here's a clip of the trailer. Now it's two minutes long. You got to stay when I've been through. I like the whole deal. When I was getting clean. Music brought me back to life.
Starting point is 00:54:06 Damn it, Wanda. You're going to shoot me, Lee? Inspiration hits when it hits. This is the new goal rush. No cops. No murder. From the dope game to the rap game. I need you to make a track for me.
Starting point is 00:54:24 Something special. Yes, yes. This underrated baseline, anise hella black. We gotta bring artillery so real-right-what-up, buddy. Do you think I'm gonna let you and your female cousin go through a house full of blood? What you from? You shall be here. Hey, blood? Run that shit back.
Starting point is 00:54:43 These are laughing times of a barraiser. Lacking times with a variety. A new world opened up, and I'm at the front of it. When I was running with Leon and Franklin, I had a far well see how they changed the game. We know our customers because we are our customers. Oozie in the stash, dodging the crash, prodig of the ghetto soy built to less.
Starting point is 00:55:08 Hard to stay in the present when you define by your pay. This music business. How could you let this happen? How was I supposed to stop it? Family comes first. You don't know nothing about sacrifice. You ain't got no business in the rap game. You understand everything that's happening with these boys right now?
Starting point is 00:55:27 I got a tendency. box and you keep trying to sell me matches. He's my family too. I ain't gonna let anything happen to him. Hey, where you from? Talking to you. Where you're from? Oh my love. I know exactly what you are. I know this streets just like you. You don't know this gangster shit like me. But you go down this road, you're gonna get yourself killed. I hope you like slaying tapes in the streets. Wait, wait, please. Why can't anyone be special around? I'm unstoppable, baby. Yo, there's so many scenes in there that is like my childhood is crazy.
Starting point is 00:56:21 I'd love ain't nobody these days. With that just that record? The last two years, I just love that song so much. I'm very excited. Yeah, I don't know why. I've really, it's really, it's gone up for me. I don't know why. Um, you know, that when you're, when you're on the butt, yo, how many people in here
Starting point is 00:56:35 been on the back of that bus and a bunch of people get on, from a different neighborhood and then harassing you. God. You got to get off the bus and run. Oh, man, that's worse. Yeah. It looks good, right? Yeah, I mean, I'm a little, I'm a little nervous about it, be going like,
Starting point is 00:56:51 depending where they go with it, music. I can't tell from the trailer where it goes. Well, so music, that's one thing I was actually excited about, because Buddy is great musically. Yes. So the raps will actually be great because they have artists from L.A., buddies from Compton. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:57:07 Like, they're from where. And if you just like, what era? What are they making? I think this is 88. I think this is 87, 86 mid, like after that kind of crack, gang thing was starting to, you know, really, it was in there, but it was like people were pivoting to like putting out music, right? Like, swap meat tapes.
Starting point is 00:57:26 And that's why it's called the drop. Like, you're selling tapes at the swap meet, selling tapes on the corner out of the trunk. Like that whole mid, the late 80s going into the 90s thing, I think that's. I guess I makes me nervous because, like, the drug stuff I know nothing about. So I'm able to believe everything I see as a viewer. with hip hop stuff, if I'm going to be annoying,
Starting point is 00:57:44 if I started to hear stuff, I'm like, this doesn't sound like it's 1987. You know what I'm saying? Yeah, yeah. That's the part where I get a little, I know it's hard for me to fight my nerdy music. Yeah, yeah. But it looks really well done.
Starting point is 00:57:54 Yeah. Bringing you back to New York, Mayor Mom Donnie's first parents night out gave New York City parents free child care for four hours on August 16th. Now this one. The Mom Donnie glazing show. Yo, bro.
Starting point is 00:58:11 That's who we are. I did see other pictures of like how parents spent their four hours. And it was like, yo, it was so beautiful. Some parents finally went like on a first date. It's been like four or five years since they had a chance to just be by themselves. People like just sat home and did nothing. And they were like, oh my God, I haven't done this in years. Like I think this is amazing.
Starting point is 00:58:32 I want to shout out to families, moms, dads, dads, parents, all of all, you know, identities. If you are with a partner and y'all have children, you haven't been able to get out of the house in and on a date. Yes. And in a year, I just want to hug you. I know. I just want to hug you. But a lot of the stories were multiple years, Ebro.
Starting point is 00:58:56 No, I know, but that's why I started with a year. Five years is like, wow, and y'all are still together and you're still rocking. Like, yo, you need a hug, a high five. You need, I don't know. another night out and single parents too because you know they never have you know especially the ones have no family or nobody to help them so you know of course people try to the fox news try to rip it up i don't have any video of them but i read they were like who's paying for this you left your children's with strangers i'm like well what do you do when you drop them off at school because all the people
Starting point is 00:59:30 that were working they they all work and at least i saw there was a lot of teachers and and people who are just like clocking in a few extra hours from extra cash, you know. If you're a teacher and you can get overtime by taking care of kids on a, you know, and helping their parents. But think about what that does for community building, right? Like where teachers want parents to be more involved, right? And want to have better connection with parents. Teachers, all teachers I know are like, I wish parents were more involved.
Starting point is 00:59:56 I wish parents could, you know, I could meet them. I wish they knew what was going on in the classroom so they support their students at home. If imagine if you're a teacher and you work in a community and there's parents who are like, hey, I want to go out Friday night. Right. You know, teachers are going to stay some extra time or come back on a Saturday and watch the kids. I don't know where they did.
Starting point is 01:00:15 I'm assuming at the schools or at different daycare centers, wherever it happened. Imagine what that does for the bond between teachers and parents or just a community in general. And then for the people who are complaining like who's paying for them is tax paying dollars. I was like, sir, people are going out and actually going on dates. They're putting money back into small businesses. Well, you have that.
Starting point is 01:00:34 But also our money goes to things. that we don't want already. Parents actually want this and they're the taxpayers. Right. So what are you talking about? Something that they actually get back out of the money that they spend. Listen, why are we, what are we doing? What are we doing? Why are we sitting here having the conversation?
Starting point is 01:00:49 Congratulations. We know what this is. He's Muslim guys. His ideas are bad. He's a terrorist. Do you didn't know? That's all they think. That's all they want to get across to you.
Starting point is 01:00:58 Yeah. Anyway, that's a rundown. Hey. Wait. Are we into the gurus? We ran. late today. We owe the people. We got to go to Ebony McMorris too, bro. Oh, Ebony McMorris,
Starting point is 01:01:10 our White House correspondent, we got a lot of stuff to do. Yeah, we've got to push the gurus to tomorrow. All right, let's go over to Ebony McMorris. We chatted with her yesterday about things going on in Washington. Ladies and gentlemen, join the program. Our weekly White House correspondent, her name is Ebony McMorris, calling us
Starting point is 01:01:26 with a beautiful background, including some sort of crane. What is the crane for? What's happening, Ebony? Cranes in the sky. If cranes in the sky was a not just a song, but an image. There it is. You know.
Starting point is 01:01:42 And the price hack is getting higher and higher and higher to the $900,000. Who's going to pay for it, Ebro? $900,000 or $900? $900. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Look, that's my middle class mind. I thought that was a good deal.
Starting point is 01:01:59 Yeah, 900,000. I think nobody has a problem. I think it's $900 million. Yes, right? So who's going to pay for it? We're actually supposed to be getting a list of some of the donors soon. The president said he's going to release some of those names. But we do know that some of tech's biggest names are in that.
Starting point is 01:02:18 But you also got to always follow the money trail. That's also going to be some of his biggest donors, you know, that are going to be attached to everything. But yes, we are always reminded. But it will also be the Qataris, the Saudis. It'll be the tech companies, the tech brink. It'll be the Peter Thiel's. And guess what? It'll be you too. It'll be taxpayers.
Starting point is 01:02:41 Taxpayer. And by the way, that is the ballroom, Cray. Yes. And that is the East Wing that was torn down. I remember the Biden days when we would have events and they would be in the East Room. And he's saying that he's doing this for security reasons and the bunkers and everything like that. I feel like every time I come on, Ebro, we're always, like, we're hearing the headline story, but at the end of it, we're always looking to follow the money trail on this. And so the price is ballooning, and I honestly don't think it's going to stop there.
Starting point is 01:03:20 I don't care what list comes out. I'm just going to tell the taxpayers that the bill is going to be like many bills is going to be handed to you in so many ways. That's right. I mean, as far as this new ballroom and whatever's under the ballroom, being security related, I believe that for the government it likely is, especially this current government, because it's probably a data center where they will keep all of our data and where they will keep track of, you know, obviously very important documents that are, you know, confidential that we've never been able to see.
Starting point is 01:03:57 What happened to Kennedy? What happened to what happened to Martin, what was going on with aliens? All that will be in there. It's a data center. Yes. And a bunker. And a bunker. Yep.
Starting point is 01:04:07 And they're keeping track of all of us. That's right. All the flot cameras will feed right into there. There's a lot going on down there. I mean, they got it. I don't know. The half has not been told, but I do know this. It didn't start with the truth.
Starting point is 01:04:21 There you go. It started with just a ballroom, him needing it. And because of the assassination attempts. And then we had the correspondence dinner, which is not held here. and every reason that he has given has not been true. So whatever it is that we may ponder or think that it is, we know that it did not start with the truth. And that is a through line through so many of the other things
Starting point is 01:04:48 as this nation celebrates 250. I would say all the things. What are we had here? It's the through line of everything happening. We've had a wrestling match here. We've had a wrestling match. We've got no, no, no, no. No, no.
Starting point is 01:05:03 that was MMA, Ebony. That was not wrestling. That was okay. Educate me on that. Okay. That was not my lane. That's not my lane, Rosenberg. But it is.
Starting point is 01:05:11 I should know it was M. M.A. Hold, let me ask you something. At what point do you guys who are covering this every day, I guess, I won't say get worried, but get re-wired,
Starting point is 01:05:24 Ebony, about the fact that this man is wearing like a Trump 20208 hat. I saw one the other day that looked like a very third Reich kind of font. I saw that. When do we start to get re-worryed that this guy is not going to leave and is really going to try to stay in office in 2020? Let me just say this.
Starting point is 01:05:44 If you were not concerned or didn't have any thoughts before this second term even began, that means you were not paying attention at all to Project 2025, you know what I'm saying? of course there are we've got the Supreme Court Corps we've got the Constitution that does not allow for that but regardless it is what Steve Bannon said in the interview I think it was 28 17 18 I can't remember but he said what we are going to do is spin the zone I don't want here's the thing and I was talking with working on an immigration story talking about Haitians and when I was talking with Alan Orr who's an attorney and with the Haitian Bridge Alliance, he said something to me that we should all keep in mind. And that is that when the people begin to speak up and cry, doesn't matter what the situation is, that is when things change. And that is how we create change. I don't care what movement that we have had in this country. The reason why things have changed is because people begin to speak up and talk. And I know we talk about this every single time I'm here. but it's the truth of the matter, right?
Starting point is 01:07:06 It is when you remain silent, that things remain the same. And so we must all be vigilant and stay educated and not get so caught up in the zone spinning. Because at the same time, there are other stories that are happening that are affecting everyday lives. Like I wanted to talk about the indie rates that's going to be happening this weekend throughout the Washington, D.C. area. M.MA, now we've got a race about 1.7 miles. Is it Indy Cars or NASCAR? No, it can't be NASCAR. It's Indy.
Starting point is 01:07:36 It's Indy Car. It's when I do know. This one I do know. It's the Freedom 250 Grand Prix. It's going to have Indy cars going through the heart of the nation's capital, the National Mall. I don't know if you guys have seen in the Smithsonian, the museum, some of the most recognizable places that represent democracy in this country. And he's calling in a celebration of greatness. It's a one-time thing that's going to be happening.
Starting point is 01:08:01 But let's, so general admission was free, but I will say organizers are saying there's going to be about 288,000 people that requested to come in just a very small amount of time. This event was created through Trump's executive order. Organizers initially had failed to get support from Congress earlier, and they were going to do this around the capital. But here's the money. Penske Corporation, of course, who owns IndyCar, its chairman is a long time Trump ally, Trump, Trump, awarded Pinsky the Presidential Medal of Freedom, was filed the money trail in 2019. The Guardian had reported that Pinsky Corporation
Starting point is 01:08:39 made more than $4 million in political contributions ahead of the 2024 election and including $1.1 million to MAGA Incorporated. I'm just saying, so Pinsky is covering most of the racist direct costs and organizers have not released the final cost, but it's supposed to cost cost roughly more than $20 million on this street race.
Starting point is 01:09:07 And so who you think is going to get that bill to? Us, taxpayers. There you go. Yeah. Right. So there's going to be restrictions all around. While Maga, Inc. and everybody else takes the money out the back door. But absolutely.
Starting point is 01:09:21 But here's the contradiction in some of this, right? So Trump is calling this, you know, symbol of national pride. even though two-thirds of their drivers are driving under foreign flags, right? This is international. The reigning champion Alex Palau, I think that's how he pronounces his name, is Spanish.
Starting point is 01:09:41 And so America First, internationally powered. There you go. And just a year ago, Trump's Department of Homeland Security used IndyCarstown. This is how I tie to immigration to promote my mass deportations
Starting point is 01:09:56 and a detention. And then back then, DHS had announced that Indiana would provide 1,000 additional immigration detention beds in the state prison. The administration nicknamed this operation Speedway Slammer, borrowing from Indiana's racing identity. Right. The Indianapolis 500 is also Indy cars. Right.
Starting point is 01:10:19 Speedway slammer. And so in their promotion of it, they showed an image of a computer-generated Indie style car covered with ice logos, erasing along a prison fence. Ebony, I'm not enjoying this conversation. Well, are you...
Starting point is 01:10:37 Ebony, are you, have you set out today to make us believers of the level of corruption that are taking place? Because we're with you. We're already... But somewhere along the lines, I'm saying something, they made up. Because guess what we're having throughout D.C.
Starting point is 01:10:56 Oh, of course. Are you got a company? Because money. Because Trump, and I'm sure somewhere along the line is one of his cronies buddies is going to make some money. Ebony, we got a report that you were meeting, and I think you just confirmed, you met with some attorneys who are working with the temporary protection status that Haitian immigrants have lost. We've seen videos of Haitian immigrants being placed with ankle monitors on. Can you talk a little bit more about those families that are affected and what the path forward looks like for them? Yes, so I've been speaking with Alan Orr, an immigration attorney, also with Haitian Bridge Alliance, a firm and Backer who is with Haitian Renewal Alliance and several doctors who are talking about, even though we saw these stories come out.
Starting point is 01:11:49 A lot of times we skip over them once they hit the headlines, but the fallout of this, we haven't even begin to. to see this, right? And it's not just stopping at Haiti either. South Sedans TPS ended on August the 7th. El Salvador's is going to be September the 9th. So it's not just the one-time story. This is a huge way that is hitting this country. And so I sat down with Alan Orr, who was extremely concerned. He said, Ebony in our offices, we're having about 20 to 30 more people that we're seeing each week who are coming and trying to figure out what to do. And you talk about these ankle monitors. He's, I mean, there's like 60 and 70-year-olds, too, that are getting these ankle monitors. There's no reason for it. In addition to the ankle monitors, we're seeing the
Starting point is 01:12:32 electric shock gloves that they're talking about spending $20 million on and putting those on the streets as well. And so the fear was happening, you know, in Springfield, Ohio, hundreds of Haitians being called into ICE offices and sent home this way. It is, as one analyst called it a new form of humiliation. A patient. Parents are telling Alan that they're afraid now, guess what, school's back in session, right? I don't know if you have any children, but school's about to sit in session, about to start back up. A parent are telling attorneys they're scared to pick their kids up, scared to send their kids to school. Don't want to be seen walking around with these ankle monitors.
Starting point is 01:13:12 And so it's not a one-size-fit-all solution. He says they're really taking things on a case-by-case basis, but he said we should be alarmed at what we are seeing happening around this country. that's when he went on to say what I told you earlier, but things will only change. Because I said, Alan, it seems so hopeless. I'm interviewing families as well who've lost their jobs, who cannot go back because they don't have their work permits now. And so they're almost like just full of fear. And so many are, well, he's telling some, don't immediately always accept the offer to go
Starting point is 01:13:48 back to Haiti. Why are we sending people back to a war and torn country? If we are telling people not to travel there, why are you sending people back there? It's because they don't care about these people and mostly because they're not white. Also, it should be noted that with the ankle monitors, if you follow the money like Ebony loves to do and we love to do, the companies that provide these ankle monitors get a lot of money. So the monitoring and the ankle monitors themselves help fund a lot of these, what are they called, prison industrial complex
Starting point is 01:14:23 these, you know, the publicly traded companies that make money on in prison and carceral things. Of course. The other thing, Ebony out of Kentucky. And say it again? I was saying the company that makes the gloves are out
Starting point is 01:14:39 of Kentucky. Like you said, always follow the money trail, but I love New York Attorney General Letish James. Yeah. She has already said officers who misuse them in her state will face criminal and civil consequences. And I need everyone to be like that. Yeah, no, Tish James is not playing any games.
Starting point is 01:14:57 Ebony, what happened the other day in the press room with the reporter and Trump was yelling at them? What happened? In the Oval Office yesterday, the president went off on another reporter, which we have seen time and time again. And she was asking him questions about our relationships, about North Korea. And he goes off on a lot of.
Starting point is 01:15:19 her as he always do calling her of course where are you from CNN fake news i mean it's is is it's sickening what he does it's also just like he's running this is the same distraction skit there's no place to go there's he has he's run out of material uh the entertainment value has been lost serious things are actually taking place people who are actually concerned are out in the streets as you said people are getting very very active uh with back to school imminent. I'm seeing reports of parents of black children and Hispanic
Starting point is 01:15:56 children who were born in the United States sending their kids to school with passports just so that they have documentation so that when they show up to school they're not whisked away or harmed by ice. And by the way, this is as young as kindergartners
Starting point is 01:16:12 of kids who are carrying documentation to school. So basically if you're not white, which in the United States it should be noted too there are tons of undocumented European immigrants who have nothing to fear right the the narrative on the news the narrative on social media and platforms is mostly about black and Hispanics and so people are living in fear right now and it's going to be a scary scary back to school for many people and a scary holiday you know financially for a lot of
Starting point is 01:16:49 other people who are just working class Americans. So you have the racial dynamics, you have the economic dynamics, and it all pretty much points to a shit show of a nation. That sums it up well. Cranes in the sky. And cranes in the sky.
