Just don't call in a podcast.
The Ebro-Lora Rosenberg shows.
Oh, folks.
I'm not ready.
Why is the sound not in here?
Lori, you okay?
I can't get my headphones to work.
Laura can't get her headphones to work.
This is the right thing plugged in for sound, no?
We don't have sound.
But guess what, folks?
We have Rob Markman.
in the building.
Hey, I'm back.
Last time they said I was too sleepy.
We're going to wake him up this morning.
They said you were sleeping?
They said they were like,
yo, you was a little sleepy, dog.
I know basketball wants to tell you to move over,
but he didn't tell you before he said.
You want him to close to the Lord, don't you?
Yeah, you're close to this way.
Because our fococ to set up,
you're completely, because they set up a room
where if you're right there, I'm invisible.
Wow.
They said you were sleeping.
I thought you were great last time.
What are you talking about?
They said I was sleepy.
Maybe I read too much of the comments.
Shout to everybody watching.
Yeah, by the way.
A lot of people show love to.
As someone who reads too much of the comments,
you read too much of the comments, bro.
You read too much of the comments.
Me, now someone like me, I'm never affected by the internet.
You know me.
Still.
I don't see.
Solid.
I don't see anything.
I don't hear anything.
I don't know anything.
But was super stoked that you came back, bro.
I was, I was, I had,
bro.
Louie can't crawl like a CIA operative next to the desk without me commenting on it.
What the,
He's helping me do that.
Y'all, this is the most physical activity
I've ever seen Louis do.
This is insane what's happening.
You're supposed to keep it on the low.
I can't.
Can you get it in the shot?
Is there a way to get it in the shot?
You got him?
He's out here watching the lioness.
I see it.
I recognize those moves.
You saw that?
Yeah, I'm watching the lioness.
I recognize those.
He's trying to connect Laura's mic.
My headphones.
I mean, her headphones.
My head phones.
Into the board.
He doesn't know.
He's staring around.
It's right where you sit.
As always.
has it where they sit.
Hey man, Ebro's not here.
It throws everything off.
That's the thing.
All it takes is one little shift.
Right.
Well, Laura had a busy morning.
You had an Uber situation this morning.
Yeah, I could.
I guess because everybody's going back to work and everything from the holiday, I couldn't
get a, I couldn't get a cab.
And let me ask you a question.
Did you fly in yesterday?
Yes.
How was it?
Because moving around here was easy.
It was a very light labor day.
I took a red eye and, uh...
Oh, red eye was probably easy enough.
I mean, I thought it was going to be easy and it wasn't.
It just was one of those.
I had my five-year-old with me,
so I thought we were good.
She would sleep through the whole thing.
For some reason,
they didn't turn off,
like, all the lights completely.
You know how they usually-
So when?
Yeah, they didn't do that.
So she was, you know,
tossing and turning.
It was just,
what time was the flight?
I left L.A. at 11 p.m.
and I landed in.
And the lights were,
that's usually lights off immediately.
I know.
I know.
I know.
Who's suspect,
but whatever.
Well, listen,
I have to fly today now
for unfortunate circumstances to Florida.
and flying to South Florida,
I then looked at the thing the other day,
and the first thing I see is that Amazon crash.
Yeah.
On the runway.
But however, guys, don't worry about me.
I am not flying into Miami International Airport.
So where are you flying to?
Oh.
Oh, yeah, baby.
I am flying into the hub of America
known as Donald J. Trump International Airport, folks.
Is it officially changed?
Yes.
Oh, God.
When you fly to West Palm Beach,
which I've never done before, I don't believe.
It is DJT.
Wow.
I'm not surprised.
Although it does tickle me that the airport he got is kind of a pretty mid.
Right, right.
You know what I'm saying?
West Palm's kind of mid.
What is it?
It's close to Mario Lago or something like that.
I'm sure.
It's close to all of it.
I mean, West Palm, it's actually crazy how many airports are down there.
When you think about like how big Miami is,
Miami's like market number nine, I feel like in radio terms, like nine or ten.
they have there's there's a Miami international there's Fort Lauderdale and there's West Palm
and in this current version of America what's happening with our FAA I don't really trust that many
airports in Florida that near each other yeah facts facts facts what is it 11 yeah it's a lot of
airports for sitting for like because of market yeah I mean New York has three right
San Francisco by the way San Francisco I mean it has more than one I like that barely I like
that Jersey too you said New York has three like
Shout to Newark.
Shout to Newark.
No, listen, everyone from Jersey also uses Newark.
Right, right.
But when you even, when you even type it in, like when you're plugging it, it says New York.
Right, right, right.
It says New York, New York.
I love Newark Airport.
Easy, peasy for me.
I find it to be generally pretty easy, too.
But isn't it kind of annoying for you now in Brooklyn?
Or no, you could.
It's not that bad.
Yeah, not too bad.
Rob, how have you been?
I've been good, man.
Busy, man, but good, you know, working on this YouTube channel that I got, man,
pumping out some interviews.
I just did one with Ransom right before that.
I did the talk with Rhapsody.
I saw the Ransom, by the way,
Ransom not an easy interview to grab.
He is very rare.
That's my guy.
I just said him, I said,
hey, you want to do an interview?
He was like, yeah, absolutely.
Not for Rob.
Guess what?
Didn't happen when I hit him.
Oh, my bad.
No, I didn't hit him this time around.
I didn't hit him this cycle.
But I hit him on the previous one
when he only did rap radar.
Remember when you did like the comeback
and just did rap radar?
Hey, listen, he did my album.
I'm going to let everything else pass from this.
No, no, but he's always, what I love about Rand is he's genuinely honest.
Like, he'll just tell you, even on that last run, he was like,
because I tried to have him come up to genius.
And he was like, I don't know.
No, he kept it very honest.
He was like, I don't really feel like doing anything.
I'm doing this one thing.
And that's it.
I'm like, listen.
If you would rather spend your only moment talking to BDOT, that's on you, bro.
I'm just kidding.
Hey, man.
No, it's Monday.
Rosenberg don't start that blast.
Because BDOT would be a slick too.
He was BDot, BDot King of Slick, had his little moment.
moment, rappers are doing stadiums, stop crying.
I was like, I hope you're not so.
Oh, I saw that.
I didn't connect it.
Listen, I said to him, I said, I hope you just mean Jay.
Because I thought that would have been a real serious oversimplification if you meant
everything else.
I agree with the idea of celebrating rap.
Although, like, can we stop giving hip hop the participation trophy of like, I'm just so happy
rappers do stadiums?
Yo, this has been the biggest music genre for damn near five decades.
And we're like, rappers can do stadiums too.
Of course our biggest stars could do stadiums.
I hear you.
I hear you.
Like, every time we have to like clap it up.
I think you get to choose the stadiums you want to do.
I get to choose the ones if I want to go.
You know what it is though?
But there's been, it feels like a concerted effort to talk about in the media how much hip hop is not on the charts for the first time since tone loke.
Oh, it's like something insane shit.
So, you know, there's a lot of talk about how hip hop isn't what it used to be.
And so I think these moments is like...
Don't you think sometimes it's us telling on ourselves, though,
that we don't, that we as the culture don't necessarily think it's the exact same as it used to be?
So we're propping up the things we do have,
which is that our legendary artists are at this level.
Right.
Because I think a lot of hardcore hip-hop fans are not super satisfied with the most.
with the current status of mainstream hip-hop.
Whether it's accurate or not,
I think that's how people feel.
I'm sure you have these conversations all the time.
Oh, yeah, all the time, man.
But hip-hop is, as it always has been,
there's just more of it.
So there's more examples of it.
Like, people complain about Hammer.
When Hammer was the biggest artist that there was,
and like Vanilla Ice,
and what is and what is in the sell-out,
and how do you keep it real?
And you got an R&B sing on your hook.
You sold out, E-P-M-D,
crossover. I mean, it's you. You know what I'm saying? Like, like, it was so funny. It's always been like
this. Having an R&B singer was both, um, like certified street cred death and also a guarantee
you were going to do it at some point. Yeah. Even like, I mean, she, A. Z. Sugar Hill. Right.
You know what I mean? Like everyone would come out with that and then at the same time,
people would turn around and kind of criticize it when people do it. Right. But, you know,
that was the ever two when the start turning. I think once we got Mary J. Blahs,
knowing a lot of these hooks, it was like, you know what? It, it legitimized. Yeah,
illegitimized.
Lado, what are you feeling most passionate about today?
Well, I did want to talk about, and Rob, this is something that you also wanted to touch on,
BET.com, just scrubbing all the old interviews and content.
It's basically what happened, right?
What the hell is happening?
I don't know.
But BT said that they're taking their editorial content, their articles.
So this is years and years of interviews and opinion pieces.
Oh, no.
And not just people's work, not just journalistic work and the people who work really hard on that.
I mean, photographers, yes, yes, yes.
And others, like, unless you save that and archive that work, have nothing to show for it.
But even our artists or whoever they were profiling, these are records of history.
These are documentations.
You know, like now we're getting, you know, people look stuff up and chat cheap, you know, AI is Google now, right?
Your search is AI.
Who knows where they're scrubbing from?
Where are they getting this information from that?
They're then feeding when you ask a certain question.
Look, but BET did it is very concerning.
MTV News did it before that.
I'm an MTV News alum.
So they did it before that, very concerning.
Hip-hop DX took their stuff down.
Y'all form a radio station from what I heard
is taking a lot of the editorial content down.
It's really concerning what's going on.
Well, I'll tell you what.
It makes me get paranoid about their YouTube channel
and that we need to do some work.
I downloaded a lot of stuff from YouTube.
Yeah.
But like if there's stuff we're super passionate about, you never know.
Now, I would think with YouTube you don't want to do it
because you're saving it to continue to collect views over time, but you never know.
And who knows what happens to YouTube?
Who knows what happens to YouTube?
That's right.
Get a hard drive and start getting all your stuff.
Can I throw a really boring addendum onto the BET one specifically, though,
that makes it different to me than the other ones?
Viacom is the worst with digital.
Yeah, yeah.
MTV, even before MTV, and I know you know this better than anyone,
even before they did what they did recently, everything's been gone, bro.
Yeah, because they've had, they're video, they wouldn't even get down with YouTube.
They took years fighting with YouTube because they didn't even want to,
they're so bad with their digital rights.
We had some when I was at MTV News because we had the, um, the player that was on the site.
Yep, that was always broken.
Always.
And it was geo-block.
So, so if I interviewed an artist in America, Canada wouldn't see it.
Oh, Lord.
South Africa wouldn't see it where, like, you just, you just.
We just couldn't see it every, because MTV franchised out.
There was an MTV Canada.
There was MTV, UK.
There was an MTV base, which is South Africa.
So we were geoblocked.
But they wouldn't put stuff on YouTube.
I did a really big interview with Kendrick Lamar in 2015 and, like, beg them to put it on YouTube just so people can see it.
Did they eventually do it?
They did.
But it took work.
Well, you know what it was, too.
My first thought was like, yo, we need to put this on TV.
I was like, yo, we need to air this.
And they was like, well, chill out.
Whoa, whoa, whoa.
Why would we air an interview with Kendrick Lamar, bro?
Team Mom is on the night.
We're not going to do that.
And by the way, we have six very good episodes of ridiculousness back to back.
We will not interfere by putting your music interview.
Yeah, I will say shout to Yomi, man.
Yomi was running MTV Jams at the time and was like, well, I'll put it on Jams.
Commercial three.
Okay, okay.
So we got it on Jams.
But the consolation was I won the YouTube fight, so it's up on YouTube.
Well, there you go.
but like I remember
first of all like anything I did from hip hop squares
is all gone and they did all this cool
stuff leading up to it including I remembered
one and I was sitting around one day
and remembered this by the way yesterday
was eight years since Mac passed away
I remember and I was like oh my god
I was like looking for pictures of Mac or something
and I was like I forgot
that they did this interview with us
the day before his show was on
the day his show aired we both got
haircuts together and they filmed
us both getting haircuts in like the makeup haircut room like this is all backstage you're making a
weird face everyone's getting their hair done and shit it was tv bro what what hair did they cut for me
oh my god you know you know what i expect by the way no no i expect better from you that was a very
white thing to say only white people say to me how do you get a haircut i need a hair bro i got a haircut
is there for 75 fucking dollars.
All I do is get haircuts, bro.
Yes.
All I do is get haircuts.
I was just fact-checking.
No, that was foul what you did.
Anyways, I was getting a lineup.
Although, I think, because that was still repug-era Rosenberg, to be clear.
So you had a little hair.
No, exactly.
I had a little too much hair.
Yeah, yeah.
But I think they actually did for that show,
do a pretty good job lining me up.
So they had like a barb or whatever.
Okay.
Anyways, I was like, oh, that video will be so fire to find of me and Mac.
Just chilling in barber's chairs talking.
Of course, of course.
Bro, you can't even sniff any video like that they put up.
It's just been, Viacom has been,
yo, Viacom's level of failure when it comes to music culture
with everything except the award shows.
Yeah.
Like, the BET Awards have been great.
Yeah, yeah.
And the MTV Awards, for whatever they are,
they manage to still be a thing.
In every other way, bro, their lack of prioritized.
music has been so damaging to music culture over it.
We can all sit here and talk about how things are different.
Nothing is more different than the fact that Viacom basically decided we don't care about
music videos.
We would rather run cheap, free, strip-style TV shows that we can air all the time.
And we don't point the finger enough at how damaging that is.
So were you there at the time where they decided to make that big switch where they went straight,
ridiculousness, T-Mom?
Was that before I got that?
I got there 2011.
I think Team Mom, Jersey, short.
Like, that was already a thing.
I got there, 2011.
So you were just focused on the news.
Yeah, MTVNews.com.
We used to do the hottest MC show.
Okay.
It still had more going on then, though.
Yeah, yeah.
No, yeah, we had Raffix Live with Sway as the host.
Like, we had a lot of programming,
mixtape daily was still a thing.
There was a lot of documentation, a lot of, you know,
you mentioned artists like Matt, Nipsey Hustle,
artists who are no longer here to tell their story.
You know, we were all up and down interviewing Nipsey about the $100
mixtape and what went into it and where is all that stuff now?
So unless you had a team of people downloading everything, it's just gone.
Yeah, which I didn't, sadly.
And again, their stuff didn't even go to YouTube that you could then get.
You'd have to hope that someone ripped it and it could survive on YouTube for a minute before they got to pull down.
You know what I found recently, we did an episode of Raffix Live.
This is on the internet because somebody ripped it.
Sway was the host, but Sway, for whatever reason, was sick and wanted to do it that day.
It was our future, full our future, all of them.
When Earl came back from boarding school.
And I'm the host.
This is one of my first on-camera opportunities.
It was the toughest interview I ever had to do.
Too bad we didn't know each other that well, yeah.
I could have given you the heads up that it was going to be a nightmare for me.
Crazy as hell.
Me and Tyler were like, cool, we had a rapport.
Doesn't matter.
Right before the cameras went on.
He said, nobody take this interview seriously.
And the cameras went on and everybody just, but what I did was we used to have this.
Tyler.
We used to have this segment where we used to have an up-and-coming artist,
Skype in, play their music video, and get feedback from the more established artists.
Okay.
This episode, the up-and-coming artist was Joey Badass.
And Steve's, Joey Badass Skyped in, but it was when they dropped survival tactics.
And they just went at it.
They just, our future didn't like Joey.
Joey didn't like the way our future was talking about him
and Joey was in high school
I don't remember that.
Yeah, I'm gonna send to you somebody like that was a classic moment
and I felt so bad for Joey
I'm so glad everything worked out for Joey.
Right, right, right.
But some of that stuff, yeah, it gets ripped and saved
onto YouTube.
But they deserve, they, you know,
just to put it in the terms that old heads would understand
the ultimate gas face to Viacom.
It's, I just remember being like,
and what was the show they had before Rap Fix?
was
between direct effect
direct effect
was MTV 2
but direct effect
was up there
rap fix
I'm trying to remember
I'm trying to remember
was that
like I did a couple
episodes of Ashow
at that time
but I guess
it was direct effect
when it went to MTV 2
yeah yeah
yeah yeah
would be my guess
like I did
Seif did
direct effect
Seif did direct effect
in the earlier
Seif did
TRL fill in
direct effect
and stuff like that
and then
I got it
towards the more
bootleggy end of it
but some fun
episodes like
I did a rock the bell
I did a rock the bell's
episode
where I got all the artists that rocked the bells.
But again, you then wouldn't be able to find it.
So I'd be like, oh, I'm so psyched.
I interviewed Erica Badu.
Do you, let me just go.
And then you'd have to find it and use the player.
Yeah, no, you didn't.
Did you do it?
You didn't do anything, is what you did.
Yeah, but it's sad, man, because that is history.
And to your point, when everyone is using JetGBT or Claude,
like, where the hell are they going to find any of this?
They're not.
What are they scraping from?
Where is the information?
Yeah, and that's why the information you get is so bad these days, guys.
Like, actually, I found recently that, like, when I'm good,
Googling stuff on my phone, it's like you have to kind of make a concerted effort to not just
get AI answers.
Yeah.
Yeah, yeah.
You have to dig deeper.
You have to like, because otherwise, if you, it'll start just giving you AI and you're
having a conversation with AI and you're like, no, no, no, I just want to Google.
I'm just trying to like find the phone number for United.
I don't need this back and forth.
I don't need a water to be used in a random town in Fort Wayne because I'm trying to ask a
question about where, you know, whatever is.
Yeah.
What else, Laura, we moved you from the weekend?
Why don't we just jump into the rundown?
You want to hit a rundown?
Let's get into it.
Oh, hold on.
I need to press the button then.
Hold on.
Play my song, Rosenberg.
Hold on.
Laura got the run down, turn that up.
Screen's on glow when she pulls up.
Headlines heavy, but we still cut up.
Life still flashing, we don't slow.
All right, I'm sure you guys saw the clips of Jay Z and his shows in London.
Did you guys watch the little clip of him stopping his show to sing happy birthday to Beyonce?
That one made it.
That one cut through the algorithm.
I saw it.
It had to wait.
Reson, you have that for me?
That was super cute.
Beyonce in the hoodie.
Yeah, she was like in a suite, right?
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Just watching.
Yeah, with family.
I thought that was super cute.
I just, I'm happy anytime Beyonce doesn't perform
because it makes it special the first one.
You know, I'm trying to just.
You don't want to give them anything special.
I want reasonable doubt over time to be proven
as the best show of the shows.
I think you and I disagreed.
You didn't, wasn't it.
said you thought the last one was the best one right yeah reasonable doubt was the most
special reason that was special got it but that third night it was just magic yeah once if you were
able to stay if you're able to survive just because everything that happened you have it all right let's
see right here um it's a young lady's birthday no no no no no no no no don't do that to her she's not
perform it's her birthday you're gonna make a perform on her birthday yeah she's definitely in the
Okay, thank you.
Definitely in the building.
I just want to acknowledge.
First of all, it's a 20 year anniversary of B-Day.
Yeah.
So she's somewhere in here.
I don't know where she is, but if you've got, you got it,
I just need one thing.
The only thing I'm gonna ask you for tonight
is if we can all just sing happy birthday.
So just really quickly.
Just really quickly.
Let's keep.
How are we gonna do this?
Let's everybody could be on feet.
Okay.
You all ready?
Play some play some play some play.
Get your music.
God, no one's ever done this for me on my birthday.
Right.
Peter Palozo was lit, but not like that.
That's sweet.
Firework show.
With the fireworks show.
I know.
Now, how much, it did seem like the London shows were relatively quiet compared to the New York shows.
Well, I saw that night one.
He brought out Lauren Helen Whitecliffe.
Saw that.
Okay.
That's pretty dope.
Nothing quiet about that.
No, that's a big deal.
Giggs.
Idris Elba.
opened up the show with American Gangsta intro, and for night two, it was Dave and Sampa.
What did the Fugees do? Do we know?
They did ready or not, and killing me softly. I saw clips of that.
Now, did he come up with an interesting way to get to them? Do we know of that?
Yeah, well, he prefaced. Do you know?
No, no, no. I didn't, I just saw direct the clips of them performing.
He prefaced that when he dropped reasonable doubt and went on touring the UK, he was opening for the Fugees.
The Fugis took them across the Cs in the UK to tour.
So that was the connection.
I love that.
Love that.
But he didn't do a like stop mid-song.
Yeah, well, I don't know.
That's what I got into enjoying, though, after night one
because he did it so creatively.
Right.
Because I'm sitting there even when he brought out,
I don't know how you felt, but like,
did you go, you went to reasonable out too, right?
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
I felt like even, even as obvious in retrospect as it is.
Like when the president's played,
I wasn't thinking about Nas coming out.
Like I never thought about,
And it does seem obvious to me now,
but I just wasn't thinking about you can use all these little samples.
Yeah, yeah.
But then, of course, I started thinking like,
oh, in L.A. when he does the evils, he's got to bring Snoop out, right?
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
And that was one of the low-key favorite parts of reasonable doubt for me
was when he did the evils and switched the entire murder was the case beat.
I thought that was awesome.
Shout out to Omar, right,
Adam Blackstone, musical director and Young Guru.
And Guru, for sure.
I think that's the collaboration.
And of course, Jay, the collaboration of all of them kind of coming up with these interesting.
They really, they nailed it.
In London, he did Family Feud, you know, when you have Beyonce singing, hi.
Yeah, yeah.
And then it went into a term of my music, hi, hi, hi, hi.
So they've been creative the whole time.
They've been having, it's been real, man, it's been dope.
How many did they do in London?
Just two?
Two, two.
Really quickly, congratulations to Sierra.
And she's, she has baby number five on the way.
Baby four with Russ.
With Russ, it's a lot of kids, bro.
Yes.
I mean, look, they're super happy.
Congratulations to them.
They could do it.
Hey, listen, they're super rich.
She, her bounce back ability is unlike anything we've ever seen.
Insane. Yes.
Y'all both got smaller children.
One.
One.
One.
Can y'all go for five?
How much can you go?
I'm done.
Laura has made a decision.
The shop has closed.
The shop is closed.
The sign has been turned around.
It's close.
Yes.
Yes.
My wife and I currently will literally go from, this is our range.
Should we just stay with Maya?
And then the next day, I don't know, you think we could do four?
Wow.
So I think we'll land somewhere in the middle, probably at two.
But again, you just don't know where life takes you.
So, like, I think we're sort of in the mindset that if some point we got comfortable not being in Manhattan, then I think the idea of more kids is appealing to Natalie.
I think she likes that idea, but she also loves the idea of living in the city.
And if you notice me saying she is because I'm just here.
It's up to her.
It's up to her ultimately.
Listen, if we had mad kids and I had a house full of kids until I was an old man, I'm not going to fight about that.
At the same time, can I imagine physically handling it right now?
No, it's very hard.
I have a good friend who went from one to two recently, and he always thought there'd be three.
And like, within months had to go to his wife and be like, hey, baby, I know.
know we were thinking about three like it's over I can't this is more than I was willing to
that I am able to do how many you got to too too but but discus right old not they're old 18 and 21 so
oh yeah I started young yes yes so my sister will always still hiss like when you're going to try out
the girl because I got two boys it's over so it's all we're done so it's the end of the symphony
it's over right right I gave that I had to do now I'm living life for me and my wife it's it's
it's yeah I really I wrestle with it I go back and forth all the time because I love
I love, love, love the age that she's at right now,
like at 19 months, the go-go-go-gag-gong around the house
and just making sounds, and it's like the most fun.
So, like, the idea of getting to extend that
if I were able to afford to do so, sounds dope, but we'll see.
In other news, and this is important because we did talk about this,
so Big Tigger has been cleared in the domestic violence case.
Say it loud, because it doesn't move around as much as the allegation.
Right, right, right.
So he's no longer facing criminal prosecution.
You know, this was months.
He was dealing with this for months.
So remember, he was arrested back in June on battery and child cruelty charges tied to the domestic dispute.
Now, the child cruelty charges was because their 13-year-old son was in the room when it happened.
I think it's important to say that.
That's what it was?
Yes.
Wait, and it wasn't his 13-year-old son.
No, it's hers.
But they're married, so you know what I mean?
Oh, got it, got it.
Yes.
So I'm just, you know, I'm happy to be here.
I believe, I mean, technically, yes.
but who knows after this?
I mean, everybody's telling him to run, so.
Yeah, Takers guilty of one thing.
A bad taste of women.
Like in a crazy-ass M-F
is what it sounded like, because when those videos came out
Oh, my God.
And who are we to judge?
I'm never going to be trying to be the arbiter
of what physical contact constitutes abuse.
But I can say
it felt very much like
a weird setup video
when that, when either,
when her son,
was the son who,
was yelling Mr. Tigger.
Yes.
The Mr. Tigger audio, it just the whole thing felt so crazy and odd.
And the way he was filming, too.
I don't know.
It felt like a setup for me.
It all just did feel that way.
And, you know, it puts us in a really situation.
Laura and I have a super long term forever relationships with Tigger.
So you then see something and you go, oh my God, I hope that my friend wouldn't do something
like that.
Right.
I don't think they would.
But how many times have we heard of stories where people,
we wouldn't think we're capable if something are capable.
So you have to walk a really awkward line,
but it sounds like this is pretty clear that there is nothing here.
Yeah, yeah.
I'm sure you guys have seen that Macklemore is trending.
Oh, I saw it.
He opened up for Ed Sheeran at MetLife Stadium,
and there's footage of him, of him basically, you know,
we already know he's been very vocal from the very beginning on his stance.
He believes in a free Palestine.
He's always been super vocal about it.
that but he took a stand on stage and he also called on ice called is a terrorist organization
and he also you know um went after the israeli government and now a lot of people are calling for her him
to be removed from that tour now here is the video of him got a way to say this all day one of the
reasons why i wanted to come on this tour was because i wanted to stand up here on stages and stadiums
across America and say two words that are very near and dear to my heart, free Palestine.
I said free Palestine. I want those words to be loud and clear so the people from Gaza all the way
to the occupied West Bank know that we have not forgotten them. And this next song was inspired
by the bravery of Columbia University students
who led an encampment movement that mobilized the entire world,
open up hearts, myself included.
So thank you to those students that risked their diplomas,
that risked their tuition, that risked their scholarships,
that stood up and said no.
CUAD students, students for justice and Palestine
and Jewish voices for peace, thank you guys.
To all of my Jewish brothers and sisters,
Criticism of Israel, criticism of apartheid, being against genocide in no way is a criticism of you.
My message is for peace, love for all human beings to be treated with dignity, respect, and equality.
So I say free Palestine.
I say free Lebanon.
I say free Cuba.
I say free Congo, free Sudan, free all people in America.
living in fear over this terrorist organization ice.
Man, so, so, oh God, there's so much here.
So number one, MacLamore, it's so interesting, his trajectory,
considering like, I don't know how you felt.
I imagine it's somewhat similar, but like,
McClermore was always sort of unfairly ganged up on at times.
Like even the whole Kendrick text thing was such an overstated,
Like it was like a little bit of a misstep.
People treated it like he like actually did something foul,
which he never,
McLemore really never did anything foul.
His intention wasn't bad.
It was definitely a mistake.
It was a dumb mistake.
But it was not filled with any sort of bad intent, disrespect.
He never disrespected the culture.
He was always truly committed to the right things, right?
Going all the way back to the, you know,
to what I almost called it, same song.
Same love.
Same love.
It's not same song by Digital Underground.
No, no, no, no.
And so he's been on the right side of history
since he started.
But he has been really incredible
on this issue specifically.
Yeah.
And it came from a place of,
and I've spoken to him since,
I don't know, sometime maybe late 23, early 24.
It came from a real place of,
like he said, seeing people protest
and it becoming something
that became like a huge,
part of him. You know what I mean? I understand why at first people are like, damn,
dog, this taking on your whole identity like you're wearing a kofia and your what,
like I could see how people were taken aback by it at first like this took over your whole thing,
but it did. Yeah. Like he is watching the horrors of what's happening in God's that happened
and it changed who he is fundamentally. And it's funny because we're going to get into the Kanye
stuff at some point, but I think there's a direct parallel between these two situations.
it is imperative that these asshole groups don't lie and call what McLemore did anti-Semitic
because it completely, completely nullifies real anti-Semitism like making a song called Heil Hitler.
That's the whole thing.
And that's the part I've always said with my chest is what McLemore did was speak up for human rights.
There was nothing anti-Semitic about that
In the least bit
And when I saw like whichever stupid group it was
Try to come after
By the way I think the tour is over
Yeah, was it was that the last time?
I had him yesterday
He said I'm going home
I think that was the end
I think he was done
Like either his leg is over
Right
Or it's over
Right
Trying to get him off the tour
Yo guys you lost the battle
No one believes that's anti-Semitism anymore
But you knew what it was
First of all you knew what it was
surely as shiren and his team knew what it was when they when they booked them because this this has been
maclmore's mission for the past a couple of years yeah i'm sure full to to the people who thought
it was just going to be thrift shop and and the ceiling can't hold us and you know like this is who
you go back to same love like maclemore's music has been very political even before the blow up um
and then i'm glad that we played the whole clip because he did make it a point that you know at the
And he says, hey, to my Jewish brothers and sisters,
correct.
Criticism of Israel is not criticism of you.
Look, they try to do the same thing to Kalani.
You know, when you talk about the state, when you say, hey, I don't agree with genocide.
I don't agree with what the state of Israel is doing.
You get this broad stroke painted of, oh, that's anti-Semitic.
I think it's.
Well, Kalani had a misstep or two.
I do think the words, F, Israel is going to make people feel different than,
but that was early and she corrected that.
And it does go back to intent, right?
Like, I think with looking at the total array of Kaylani's actions and her character, you could be like.
Oh, total, total collection of actions and character.
We don't do that.
That's like, it's so obvious, right?
And they tried, and people really did try to shut down Kaylani.
They did.
They shut her down at the park.
Yeah, she lost a couple shows because of it.
And lost it.
And listen, this is like two, it's so complex and, and frustrating.
to see like this this weekend in fact i didn't even check my twitter yet i'm sure it's in shambles
because last night before i went to bed i tweeted about macklemore so i was like oh perfect i can in the
same weekend be screamed at for being a f u zionist and then also get all the jews saying uh all the
although not all the jews let me not say that let me do what other people do all the crazy right-wing
Zionist telling me that I don't care about Jews.
But yeah, I just posted that there's nothing anti-Semitic about it.
And we should be able to, everybody should be able to say that is not anti-Semitic.
And at the same time, there is also real anti-Semitism that happens.
And to be lazy and not be able to chew.
Like a lot of the comments I got all weekend were basically saying that the whole thing is
bullshit.
There is no anti-Semitism, blah, blah, blah.
and I'm like, if I have to explain to you why Kanye's sort of two-year run,
which, by the way, you have the right to forgive him for it if you want to.
I mean, frankly, if you're not Jewish, it's irrelevant to me whether you forgive him or not on it.
It would be like me forgiving a white racist for using the N-word.
Not a thing I get to do.
But you have to be able to see the difference between someone who is choosing to say hateful things about Jews
and someone who in 2026 is calling out the Israeli government
genocide that that battle's been lost like Israel failed that mission that is a failed
mission by them the the the blurring the line so anytime someone says anti-Israel it's
anti-semitic the public is now hip to it they they actually now know smart people now
know Israel does not speak for Jewish people so the idea that people would come for
Macklemore and pretend now like people are going to believe that's anti-Semitism I'm sorry
I don't think anyone's buying it yeah another thing I wanted to touch on
Rosenberg, I saw it when you sent it.
The Elizabeth Holmes,
is it a documentary that 824 is putting out?
Yes.
The little clip, I don't know,
Rassan, did you get a chance to put it in the system?
It's, yeah, it's the Nathan Fielder doc about,
but I don't know, can I say the truth?
I know nothing about Elizabeth Holmes.
I had to look her up before I got.
Yo, me too, bro.
I had to look her up.
And everyone was like so, do you know about her?
Yeah, yeah.
So can you just give us a little bit of background?
And listen, I remember a little bit of it,
but she had this company and I believe it got big.
A medical company, right?
A medical company, yes.
she had this device, this machine where I guess you could check your blood and it could tell you
if you had certain diseases.
Yeah, it was a technology for viewing blood tests.
Right, right.
But I think it went as far as, and I hope I'm not wrong, that it was in like regular
drugstores.
Like it was supposed to be like this big phenomenon and she had raised all this money.
And you see her at a vent with like really big politicians and everybody was like, you know,
drinking whatever she was serving.
and to the point where eventually it was a scam
and people that really believed in the technology
and believed what she was doing
were very hurt by it.
Imagine you go in and somebody tells you that you're,
you know, you have this but you don't have that,
but you're really diabetic and you're going around thinking
you're not diabetic and, you know, so a lot of people got hurt by it.
So, and the woman was found guilty
and she's currently doing like 13 years in prison.
But she looks absolutely crazy
because she is a lot of people.
say that she's a compulsive liar.
Right.
And just her look, because she just will look through your soul and lie to you.
Yeah, so everyone basically believes almost everything about the company was fake.
Yeah.
Her valuation got at some point up to like $8 billion, then went down to zero when they realized
she was a complete fraud.
Nathan Fielder is hilarious and does bizarreo humor.
Nathan for you is, of course, an iconic show.
He's done two or three shows.
I was trying to find the name of the one last year.
That was dope.
Who was America?
Fire.
Oh, the rehearsal, two-seasoned the rehearsal.
He's a brilliant avant-garde weirdo comedy producer,
and he made this documentary,
and apparently got all this time with her
before she went to jail, and this is the trailer.
I'm not that person.
I can promise you that.
I don't have anything to deceive you on.
Of course, I'm not deceiving you.
I'm engaging with you as a human being.
Why would I deceive you?
There's no.
So there's no reason for me to do that.
Okay.
All right.
Okay, good chat.
You're being real right now?
I'm always being real.
So, real quick, I'm not like the ultimate Nathan Fielder guy.
Some of his stuff is too weird for me, and I just don't feel like watching it sometimes.
But then the stuff that's good is so good.
That trailer is friggin' brilliance.
Like, I don't even...
Whatever the movie is, everything about the movie is, everything about the...
that trailer from how much it grabs you,
you're like, what's happening here,
to the music that goes with it,
to then it pops out and you see how actually close they are?
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Because you could tell, he knows she's lying.
She knows she's lying.
They both know that she's lying,
and the way she just looks at him with such conviction.
Like, it's so wild to me.
I don't know.
This is the first time that I've seen,
because I've seen the actress who played,
I think she, there was a movie made about her.
Oh, really already.
Yeah, so I saw clips about it.
But this is the first time I see her in real life.
She looks absolutely bonkers.
And then the name you can see everything for a documentary is a fire name for a documentary.
It appears like what happened is there's a scene there and he came over to her as director and started chatting with her.
And then they were like, let's just use this as the trailer.
Right.
But anyways, people were very excited about that trailer.
I mean, I'm in.
I'm looking forward to this.
Looks really, really good.
And they screened it.
People didn't know what they were going to see.
Well, it was like a surprise screening that I think they just invited people in.
Oh, really?
And then they figured out what it was that they were watching.
Oh, wow.
Yeah, they kind of sprung it on.
That's fire too.
Because I think he was one of the few people who got to spend time with her before she went to jail.
So I guess this is what all this footage is, but that's super rare.
But his history, he's Canadian, but his history of TV, like the things that he was a part of is just so much different, funny stuff.
and then he became, you know, he did episodes of Nick's Wardson show, Nick Kroll,
all the funny weirdo-ish that has happened.
He's had some part in.
But then Nathan for you is what kind of was the beginning of him becoming this really popular but cultish figure.
Like I know people who are just obsessed with everything he puts out.
So it'll be fun to watch that one.
Very cool.
That's the rundown.
Oh, I got to hit the intro for the outro.
Come on.
When she pulled up
Headlines heavy but we still cut up
Light still flashing we don't slow up
All right Laura we have some decisions to make today
We have to figure
We have to figure some things out schedule-wise today
Okay
We have Ebony coming on at nine
We have Ebony in 10 minutes
Okay
So we can get to Trump
And the whatever horrors
Were happening over the last several days
Or or and I should say
Yeah, and, and we, we, there's a lot of stories we haven't gotten to.
Plus, we also haven't done, haven't done many gurus.
Do we have gurus, uh, Griff?
Yeah, he said you on this weekend.
He said us a guru, we have a guru, we can get to.
Okay.
People don't like it when we missed the gurus.
I know, but at the same time.
Oh, yeah, and then I was going to say, and then we haven't even touched the Kanye stuff
from over the weekend.
I'm waiting on you.
And we haven't talked about Mom Donnie.
We haven't debriefed on our God.
That's right.
That's right.
Big weekend.
Yeah, a lot has happened in the last week.
So all of that said, it's very important.
But I think video number seven probably trumps all of that.
All right.
Video seven, please, Bascom.
This is super important, I think, rather than all the other stuff.
Hooggan, yeah.
You say you don't know where a macho man is coming from.
You're right.
You don't know anything about the macho man, Randy Savage, and where I'm coming from.
Because it's mind-boggling to you, yeah.
A one man could make it to the top of the World Wrestling Federation Mountain, yeah, all by myself.
This is so good.
As a macho man aficionado, her details.
Her details are so, so good.
Hey, do we happen to get also, speaking of important things we can get to yet,
Did we, did we happen to be able to get the Yadi stuff in?
So, so Yadi, L'Iotti has been doing WWE now since, I'd say, beginning of the spring.
Like five weeks before Mania, maybe he came around, March, I'd say.
And he's been managing Trick Williams.
And, you know, he's been going to Orlando and working out at the Performance Center
and trying to like, you know, just learn whatever he can.
and beyond that, everyone has been super thrilled with his performance.
Like, he's just been a shockingly good character.
Like, I just, I have no other way to say it.
He's been his, his, on the mic, the way he carries himself, him as, and Trick Williams
together.
You remember Trick when he came in?
Of course, yeah.
It seemed very random at the time.
They actually seemed like a really great manager-wrestler duo.
Anyway, so Trick is currently in the middle of a feud with a guy named Baron Corbyn,
and they set up a match,
Baron Corbin versus Lil Yadi
and if Louis Yadi survives five minutes in the match
and this is a thing that has, you know,
it's a little trick that has been done throughout history.
It's like a fun thing to do with someone who's not a wrestler.
Okay.
If he survives five minutes,
then Trick Williams would get another title shot
against Baron Corbyn.
They were in Atlanta for Sunday night's main event.
Cuevo performed.
Tyler the Creator was there,
ringside, and Yadi had this match.
and we just wanted to show you a couple highlights because Yadhi did his damn thing.
Oh, watch the Hurricane Rana from Yadi here.
But he's in a fight for survival quite literally here.
I mean, listen, it's not perfect, but it gets the job done.
Yes, that's still really good.
This one is, this one is, this one is, this one is.
Do you see this one yet, Griff?
It's a flying cross body. It's more like a flying side body.
And this is video taken by the...
the concrete boys.
Yaddi went through the table.
Look at Tyler.
He's losing his life.
I'm a little sad.
I miss Tyler going to WWE.
I feel a little sad.
Did he last five minutes?
He did.
And then Trujew Williams won the title back.
I love that.
So all that was pretty good.
No, he, I'm super happy for Yadi, man.
It's, he's been like really taking it seriously.
And, you know, my, my favorite thing about him is he rolls up with basically, it was, it was, it
It's interesting that they had the concrete boys with him as like his like entourage
because in real life he hasn't had any entourage.
He just shows up like a worker going to work every day.
Like he really is really, really into it.
That's fire.
So the fact that he got to do all those things was special.
So shout out to Yaddi.
Yes.
Have they ever or could they ever?
I mean, you were the people's champion?
24-7 champion.
24-7 champion.
That's right.
24-7 champion.
I know bunny's gotten in the ring.
There's a lot of hip-hop, hip-hop adjacent.
Jason.
Yeah.
Cuevo opened the show performing.
What did we just throw all the hip hop guys
who have gotten in the ring before
into like a Royal Rumble?
By the way, you know,
don't, I bet Yadi's goal is to get in a Royal Rumble.
I would imagine that's like high on his list.
Although the hard thing about the Rumble is,
I'm not saying, Yaddi's probably aren't in his way
to be able to do it.
And Yaddi's a pretty big guy.
Like, for example, I've always thought about the fact
that I would never get in the Royal Rural,
I would never be offered that opportunity.
but if I was, the hardest thing would be
I'm not even athletic enough
to get thrown over the top row,
nor am I tall enough?
No, no, what I'm saying?
That's the hard part.
I want to see you in the ring
with all the different rappers.
With just the rappers.
So you want to see a horrible match
is what you want to see.
So they can, you know,
take everything out,
everything you've ever said about all this guy.
There will be some cheap shots.
I'm trying to think of all the musicians
who are around.
Who are the musicians that are around these days?
You got, you got Yadi.
Okay.
I'm good.
He's not coming from.
Yadi and I are great.
I don't think he's ever been mad at me.
All right.
That could change.
That could change between now and then.
Bad Bunny, he doesn't even know a thing about me.
I'm safe.
Jelly Roll, I've never said in, I've never been anti-jelly roll.
We critiqued some things.
You sure not on his come up when he was rapping and when-
Was hanging out a little white?
I was not aware of him at that time, I'll be honest.
You probably were.
I was not aware of him in the little white days.
Who else is a,
Am I forgetting any current music people that are around?
Do you have Travis Scott?
Travis Scott?
I mean?
Yeah.
Yeah.
No, no.
Travis and I are Gucci.
But I don't know.
Based on what he did to Cody Rhodes, I'm not getting in the ring with Travis Scott.
Okay.
I am not taking a punch directly to the jaw from Travis Scott.
But listen, I'll tell you, the coup de grove, the whole thing is still a bad bunny though.
Yeah.
I mean, from an athletic standpoint, like his ability to, he is the gold standard of can actually physically do the work.
Like he's so far on a different level.
He literally would come in whenever he was like,
yo, he's really, really, really focused and doing it.
He was super impressed with Bad Bunny.
And then he had these matches that were just like awesome.
By the way, you know, I never got the merch.
Do you know, Laura, the night I won the 24-7 championship?
Bab Bunny performed that night.
He performed Bukertie.
Okay.
With Bukerti.
And I still haven't ever bought the shirt.
So like the shirt, the merch for that night,
it was a weird time because we were still pandemic.
Yeah.
So they would make merch, but it wasn't the same
because people weren't able to go to the event.
It was frigging digital seats.
No, but I was just saying I was going to look for it
and you'd find it interesting.
The merch just looks like a bad bunny concert merch.
Oh, okay.
That's the only thing they have for the Royal Rumble in 21.
All right, so here's what we're going to do
because I think we need a little more window,
a little more time to get into the Kanye stuff
of the weekend.
Let's do a guru.
Okay.
Actually, it's already almost time
for Ebony McMorris.
Is she here yet?
No, we can do a guru.
All right, we have time for a guru.
Here's what we're going to do.
Okay, so it's a weird week.
Ebro, we thought Ebro is going to be here this week.
We did.
And then he called us in very classic Ebro fashion,
hit us Friday or Saturday and said,
I'm going to San Francisco all week for work.
So Ebro is gone for the week.
tomorrow I have to go to a funeral in Florida.
Yeah, but it just happened unfortunately.
So we caught that unfortunately.
So Laura and I were trying to figure out
how do we maximize our time for the people.
So what our plan is,
is we are going to do the show right now
as we just did.
We're going to do a live Patreon
immediately following this show.
Rob, you're going to hang?
Yeah, I'm going to hang out.
You really want to get in the muck and mire
with me on this whole Kanye thing?
This is why I came.
And I feel like you're ducking it now.
No, no.
Don't duck.
Yeah, man.
No, we are talking about it.
There's a lot to say.
All right, so we're going to do a live Patreon the second this show ends.
And obviously, if you don't have time for it right now, it'll be up later.
And you can, you know, if you're a Patreon, subscribe, we'll get it later.
But maybe you never been on Patreon.
You want to join us today.
We're going to do a live one on Patreon.
So Ibro Laura Rosenberg.
What is it?
Is it just ELR show?
Elr show on Patreon.
We're going live five minutes after this show ends.
Tomorrow we're going to go dark on account of us.
just not being able to happen between no ebro and funeral, et cetera.
It's not happening.
And then we'll be back Thursday and Friday.
We'll do a live show.
Thursday and Friday, we'll do a show for the people also.
We'll do a half live, half Patreon, 9-11.
It's the 25th anniversary of 9-11, so we've got to do a show for that day.
And we still have to get into more of our behind-the-scenes with Mom Donnie.
We sure do.
So that's all the stuff we have coming up today.
So if you haven't signed up for Patreon, go do it.
In the meantime, in between time, I see our friend hanging out very close to the
the White House today. Looking like she's practically inside. It's our girl, our White House correspondent.
Ebony McMorris is here. Ebony, how are you? It is Peter, Laura, and Rob Markman. Ibrose off today.
Can we get her sound? Sorry, try it again, Ebony there. Oh, no, come on, Bascom. No pressure, but we don't
hear her. He, Bascom claims it's not him, Ebony, and you have such a beautiful, this is such a
beautiful picture today. Is it possible she's muted? It doesn't say she's muted. Do you want to
want her to leave and come right back.
We have the A-Tem
potted up correctly.
What do you think, Bascom? You're in the hot seat right now.
All right, Ebony, do us a favor. Just leave and come right back
if that's okay.
All right, she's going to leave and come right back. In the meantime,
very quickly.
Hey, you know, it's time for the gurus.
Rosenberg.
All right. You know you are a beautiful queen.
Ebro. Don't ever play yourself.
You're not a guru.

Gurus, I wrote in last October
about my sex addiction.
I'm the guy who had escapes with porn stars
amongst many other devious acts.
I took your advice and sought treatment.
I have refrained from acting out on my desire since.
I admitted guilt to my wife.
Yo, this is a validate me episode of my Gia.
What are we doing?
I admitted guilt to my wife.
It was probably the hardest
and most embarrassing thing I've done in my life.
I admitted to being unfaithful
but didn't give the details.
They were so extreme
and I figured she would think I'm joking.
And up front, she didn't want to know.
We're still together and things are improving slowly.
But as time passes, she started to ask more questions.
I don't want to get back the progress we've made,
but I feel guilty hiding the truth.
Should I admit to the massage parlor, casual encounters, bull activity?
What's bull activity?
I don't know.
And BDSM amongst other things.
Oh.
Or should I temper the truth and admit to an acceptable portion of my axe?
I know nothing is acceptable.
My situation, there's a broad spectrum of ax.
All right.
We turn the beat down just a tiny bit.
This is going to be super quick.
This is easy.
This is perfect.
Do you have any sound from Ebony?
Do you feel good that we'll be able to go back to your basket?
Okay, you did.
Literally, my episode of Validate Me last week or two weeks ago, I interviewed Jen Acker, who's a certified addiction, a certified sex addiction therapist.
Okay.
This is exactly one of the things we talked about.
Yeah.
You're in a great, okay, you're in a terrible situation, but you're in a great situation.
The horrible part is this has probably already been hard for you, and she doesn't even know the tip of the iceberg.
I know.
So you're terrified.
Correct.
There is no fixing this at this point without it all.
There's only one path forward.
This is all or nothing, bro.
If you don't let her know everything,
eventually it's going to just keep coming out
and drips and drabs and it's going to be a disaster.
This is when you need to go find a proper counselor.
And she's obviously giving you time.
It's not like you feel like you have to say it today.
You have shit.
You have time to write the gurus.
Find yourself a certified sex addiction therapist.
seek their advice on it,
and then they can set up a therapeutic setting
in which you can start to tell your partner
everything that's happened.
But I know you guys,
this isn't like either of your bags,
but even I think y'all could see,
like, it doesn't make sense now,
but she knows some,
you're going to reveal some
and hold back the other.
How is that going to work?
Right.
And then later on,
when small things start popping up,
she's going to be like,
you continue to lie to me.
How come you didn't tell me?
So you're just going to be in this hamster wheel
of horrible, horrible, horrible fights and arguments.
And your trust is down the drain.
You watch a movie, something reminds her of something.
She asks another question.
Yeah.
And I think it frees him too.
Like just let it all that way you don't have to hide it anymore.
Because there's also walking around hiding it,
knowing that there's these things that you can't share or you feel that you can't share.
Let it out, man.
Like I think it helps him too.
I think holding on to it is going to damage you.
The only thing you cannot do is just go rogue and tell her all.
You need to get a therapist in the room.
You guys are going to need a therapeutic setting.
Yo, go watch my last episode to validate me.
Look up C-Set.
They're called C-Sats.
Go find a C-Sat who will sit with you and your wife.
This is what they do, bro.
It's going to be ugly.
It's going to be painful.
But it's the best case scenario.
And she's already shown that she likely wants to try, you know?
She probably, I know it feels like when she gets more information,
she's going to leave, she probably won't.
But if she does, you can't,
yo, you already did bad shit.
You can't now live in a lie.
You can't balance out you doing bad stuff
by now lying to the woman.
So you're going to have to go eat this.
It's not going to be fun.
Need a clean slate.
Yeah.
The original gurus at gmail.com
and now we try a clean slate
with our friend Ebony McMorris.
Ebony, can we hear you, most importantly?
Congratulations.
Hold on.
Congratulations.
You plagued yourself.
Basque, and we do not hear her.
He's talking right now. I'm here.
We can't.
The ATEM is up.
Anyone want to look at the ATEM?
Anyone to do anything?
You know what we should do is just end the show and record with Ebony.
Yeah.
I think that's what we're going to have to do.
Because this is what's happening.
So here's what we're going to do.
We're going to talk to Ebony McMorris for five, ten minutes.
Then we're going to jump on Patreon live, dive into the whole Kanye situation from the weekend.
And do all of those things.
if you're a Patrioni, we'll see you in about 10 minutes.
And if not, we'll see y'all on Thursday.
Does this sound right, Laura?
Have I forgotten anything?
No, no, I think you're good.
But it's a good time to join if you're not a Patreon.
So go on at patreon.com right now.
Search for the ELR show.
Yes, we're going to hit Patreon with two different episodes this week.
In spite of the rough schedule, we've got to serve Patreon
because y'all already suffer with us last week.
You think, again, that she's here.
I will hear her.
Ebony?
Yes.
Oh, can you hear me?
Look at you, Bascom.
All right, Ebidy.
So good to see you talk to us.
What's going on?
What's on your mind today?
What were you thinking you had to talk to us about the most?
The conversation that you all were having right before I came on.
I'm over here at the White House, and I'm like, wait a minute, sex therapist.
Well, what are we talking about?
No, but it's a-
We cover it all, Ebony.
You cover it all.
And now you want to bring me in.
But let me just tell you because in your bedroom, you may be affected, maybe not right away.
because Canada's retaliatory tariffs hit at midnight tonight.
No, it's not going to affect your toys right now unless they have aluminum in them.
However, right after midnight, Canada started charging new terrorists,
about 27.6 billion worth of American goods.
That's going to affect steel, aluminum, dairy, appliances, farm equipment, paper, plastics, and electronics.
You're not going to feel it right away, but it will hit businesses.
And so we're talking about, they were trying to do dollar for dollar on the 50% tariffs, the U.S. already put on Canadian goods.
This follows trade talks that completely fail apart in late August when Canada's prime minister, Mark Carney,
said, you're at war when you get attacked. We got attacked. And they did.
The president even last night. He, oh my gosh, y'all, he was on true social.
That's where I was going next.
40 plus.
I couldn't even keep up, but I'm trying to be on vacation,
like have a little holiday,
and it wasn't working because he was constantly tweeting out all types of things.
But one of them also was a threat against a Bavarie,
which is a Canada's airliner.
And so he's threatening them, right?
But here's the thing.
America, that company employs hundreds of American workers in Texas and Kansas and other places.
And so these 10,
There's this trade war that we're going back and forth affects both parties at a time when we're saying grocery prices go higher.
Right.
We're seeing inflation rising and upticking.
And so many states, there are a few states that are going to be hit the hardest when it comes to this.
Michigan is one of them.
Pennsylvania, even with is going to get hit.
And so Michigan is the biggest.
But Ohio, Indiana, Wisconsin are all places with factories and shipping auto parts to Canada.
On dairy specifically, you've got Wisconsin and Vermont that are going to get hit.
Vermont sent 80% of everything at exports to dairy straight to Canada.
And so this is just another fallout of this administration.
And so we don't know yet.
We haven't heard anything yet from the administration or what's going to happen.
But I do not think you're going to see these two parties come to the table with any type of agreement.
It's almost like a who can wait it out the longest.
But we keep seeing this on so many different fronts within this.
administration. What do you think we were most being distracted by, I mean, four? Why the insane
truth storm, like ridiculous photos and videos and maps that change the name New Mexico to New
America and a visit from George Washington and AI? Usually, usually when he does something like this,
it's because there's something he doesn't want us to be paying attention to. Is it just the general
you know, disarray and terrible state of everything economy-wise.
Do you have any reason as to why he would have been going on such a truth storm?
Is it the bad hair?
I mean, what's happening?
First of all, I think it's the perfect picture of narcissism.
And this is what he did in the very beginning to get the attention that he wanted.
And who knows what's going on in the president's mind?
Well, we do because it spills all out over truth social.
But we do know it has been a distraction.
But you can't keep doing that and thinking that it's going to continue to be a distraction because Americans are being hit.
This Labor Day had some of the highest gas prices that we have seen.
You cannot unsee that.
You cannot unsee your grocery bill.
You cannot see child care costs going up.
You cannot unsee those things.
And so even his own party, it looks at him with a side eye, but they still fall in line with him.
And it's backfiring because if it worked, his poll numbers would not be so low.
They are in the mid-30s.
I don't care whether you go on Fox News or NBC.
His poll numbers are low.
And so Americans, even his own base, they are getting tired of it.
And some are pulling away.
We are seeing this on starting tomorrow, actually, tomorrow and Wednesday, today and
when Samson, Republicans are holding something that has not happened before.
And it's Trump's brainchild, which is a midterm convention.
We have not seen this before.
Keynote speakers, JD Vance, all right.
They're all going to be descending, of course, this is to get money because they're going to need it.
They are facing backlash from their own team, own sides, and they're scared because Democrats, as many posters are saying,
and a political analyst, is that they're going to stand a huge chance of taking the House, but also maybe the Senate as well, in Texas as well.
That's going to be a big key battleground state with the aging Ken Paxton,
growing up against Cala Rico.
And so it's crazy because I think political did a report
and they reached out and asked several Republican members,
are they going to this convention?
Out of the 70, I believe over 40 said that they were not going to attend.
They're trying to pull back because what does it look like in some states
when the president is stumping for you, right?
Even though he wants to tell everybody, just think of me,
being on the ballot.
It's,
it's,
I don't know if we can even cuss on here,
but it's a you know what show.
Yes.
It's a you know what show right now.
And so what are we expecting to hear when he takes the stage?
I believe it's the same things that we always hear talking about the Democrats,
saying that he's going to lower gas prices,
even though it's the highest that it's been,
probably crapping all over,
not just Democrats,
but saying that what you're seeing is a hopes and,
and there's no affordability crisis from,
But there has not been any delivery and I think people are getting tired of it the question becomes what will Democrats do
To run on this because they're always giving them material always
But what are they going to do with this messaging in many states that they could could maybe a small chance
Even take Texas has always been read for decades
But there's a slither of a chance with Tala Rico when it comes to can pack there is so
No, it feels like there's at least
We'll have to say.
Yeah, it feels like there's at least a little bit of hope this time around.
I mean, if the Democrats can't take advantage of how bad things are now,
when will they take advantage?
Because things are, as you said, an absolute-ish show.
Ebony, thank you very much for making time.
We appreciate you.
And don't let these people disrespect you make you stand in the parking lot.
A lot of our people are very unhappy.
They have you in the valet position.
People in our chat are very angry.
Not the valet position.
Look, you be careful because I heard you say you were flying into DJT.
That's a great.
I love, no, what?
That's a knuck if you buck.
That's what you do.
Best airport in the country.
What?
It's going to be great.
Ebony, thank you so much.
Thank you, Ebony.
Oh, no, now she got her AirPods falling out.
It's all happening.
Ebony McMorris, ladies and gentlemen.
All right, so you've heard, you've come,
you've heard what everyone had to say.
Now we go to Patreon to get spicy.
That's right.
We'll talk about it all.
By the way, so I just saw Mark Lamont Hill posted his,
interview with Vlad
today,
or clip of it at least.
Oh,
wow.
And it's like,
you know,
DJ Vlad on Peter Rosenberg,
Lewis Farrakhan,
and something else.
I'm like,
yo,
Mark,
you wait for the week
when I'm in hot water,
then you drop the clip net,
then you Algo hustle
with the Rosenberg hate headline.
Let me tell you what I won't be watching.
With respect to Mark,
I will not be watching that interview.
All right,
we're going to go live in about
five to ten minutes
on Patreon.
We're going to get into the whole Kanye of the weekend and much more.
There's a lot more that happen.
We're doing on Patreon.
Rob, thank you for making time, bro.
Of course.
Of course.
Thank you for having me.
Rob Markman is here.
ELR continues next on Patreon.
Just don't follow the podcast.
