Just don't call it a podcast.
The Ebro-Lora Rosenberg shows.
Good morning.
Good morning.
Listen, our guy Rosenberg is flying over here.
When I say flying, he is in a car trying to get here.
And it's a big deal, honestly, because we have had a lot of crazy stuff happening in the background.
We had a death in our friend circle.
So Rosenberg had to fly out to take care of that and be there for the people that he loves.
I'll let him talk more about that.
But I'm just giving you guys the disclaimer.
Ebro was, I don't know, in San Francisco.
Yeah.
Yeah, yeah, big apple stuff, as you guys know.
So it's been a, it's been a little choppy here, but I'm here.
I'm here to hold it down.
Rosenberg is on his way.
I want to give a big shout out to the chat.
I know, I know, I know, you guys.
It took us a little long to get it together, but we're here.
Louis, who's in the chat right now?
Who should we shout out?
Wait, hold on, hold on.
All right, there he is, there he is.
Shout out to Spanx.
Shout to Spanx.
Shout to Spanx, always holding a stand.
Danielle Lawrence said,
Laura for president.
Jeanette Rosa, running the board solo date night.
Shout out to Kristen Mack.
Shout out to MFI-Y-6-O-Y-D.
Yo, these names got to get better, guys.
Okay, okay, okay, okay.
And shout out to everybody who always hits us with a beautiful super chat.
We appreciate you guys.
Super chats, of course. We always appreciate the super chats.
Yeah, we'll make sure to get to you. And by the way, I know you guys have been receiving your merch, your ELR hat.
So thank you for sending us picks. Please send us some picks.
They're super cute. And I just like reposting them and stuff like that. So shout out to you guys.
And if you haven't received it, you should be getting them this week.
Rosenberg is in the building, a lot going on.
Oh, I like your shirt, Rosenberg.
Oh, are using your mic or E-Bros? I'm using E-Bros.
Yeah, this was from, remember we went to the Room 72 Nike thing the other day?
Yeah, yeah, yeah, that's fire.
And they were doing this Nike seating thing and they had a vintage section, which got me very excited.
Yeah.
And you remember I was stressing about what to get?
I ended up going with this 90s Kobe Jones.
Remember Kobe Jones?
I know you, Marissa, I know you don't remember Kobe Jones either.
You don't remember Kobe Jones either.
You all too young?
I don't remember Kobe Jones.
You wouldn't remember me either.
Yeah.
He was on the U.S.
He was a black dude on the U.S. soccer team in, like, the 90s, maybe early 2000s.
But anyway, so shout out to Room 72 and Nike was pretty cool.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Super dope.
A lot going on in the world, Rosenberg.
Yes, a lot is going on with the world.
Thank you for your patience.
I appreciate it, everybody.
No, I don't know if the chat's been patient right now or angry, but I appreciate you.
I think they were a little antsy at the beginning, but they're cool.
Everybody's cool now.
I was on the flight.
It was one of those things.
Still sitting there.
And then you're like, why are we?
Why are we still sitting here?
I know.
And then they're like, hey, I guess you're wondering why we're still sitting here.
Sorry, we're having some issues with the air conditioner.
We have to test some things out.
Oh, God.
And then, you know, we'll give you an update in about 15 minutes.
Okay, and that turned into an hour?
And then, no, it was probably like, he was really good with the update staying on time.
You just don't know where it's going to go.
And then they're like, all right, we're going to have to go back to the gate.
But we're not going to be plain.
We're going to see what we can do.
Okay.
And can you turn down the A10?
thing, it's like pretty annoying, don't you think?
Thank you.
Thank you.
Okay.
And then, and then we went back to the gate.
They did the whole thing.
And in the end, we did end up taking it.
But like, when it happens, though, you're just like, you're, A, panicking about the next day.
Like, what am I going to do?
Right.
You know what I don't, you know it frustrates and upsets me?
And I know you've had to deal with this recently.
The rebooking part.
Like, I'm like, what do I do to rebook?
Yeah.
Because, like, I booked through Amec, so it wasn't, if you were booking directly with the airline,
you could just go right on their.
app and switcheroo.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
But if you've booked any other way
or someone booked for you,
now you're making phone calls.
You know, it's a headache.
It's a headache, bro.
When I was stuck and I was,
I think the last time I was stuck was in Puerto Rico,
Ricardo was not playing games.
He just straight up booked another flight.
I remember, it was like, we'll deal with the rest later.
We'll deal with it later.
Yeah, that's the only way we were able to get out.
But for everybody else, everybody was stuck in Puerto Rico
for like three extra days.
You know, that was, your trip was maybe one of the most scary
from a distance trips.
That I couldn't handle what you guys did.
It was a night.
And with a five-year-old, okay.
But better five than two.
Yes, yes, yes.
Because we're going to San Francisco in October.
And that 9.30 p.m. flight to San Francisco with what will then be a, you know, 20-month-old or 21-month-old.
Yeah.
But you better believe I'm taking advantage of this up till two flies free.
Were you able to pull that after two?
No.
But I honestly, Rosenberg, like, I didn't do it after a while.
I just wanted the comfort.
I got her her own seat.
I was like, you know what?
I did reverse.
I did reverse.
I'm not having you on my lap this whole time.
You know, sit down.
But my problem is I didn't find it.
My philosophy has been,
try my way to get two business seats.
Don't pay for her rather than get the whole row on coach.
Because by the time you do the whole roll on coach
and you put in her damn seat, you have no room.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Like her seat is the whole row.
It's crazy.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
And now the planes are so small.
You can't walk up and down the aisles.
Even trying to be a dad walking your baby up and on the aisle,
you're nearly crashing into everybody every moment.
Yeah, it's awesome.
So what are you feeling most passionate about today, L.S?
I mean, there's so much.
Look, in the rundown, we're definitely going to cover this crazy Norie story that just popped up.
We'll give you an update.
We'll talk about Jimmy Kimmel.
But you know what we should jump into?
What's that?
Let's talk about Fetterman.
Oh, the big Republican convention.
The made up, the made up, we're desperate and we need money, fake Republican convention.
Yes. So shot to Kevin at Here's Why Kevin. You know, we have ELR News Weekly. We were texting and he hit me. And this is before it went out. He basically was like, Laura, like, Federman has a video that they're going to air at the Republican convention. And I was like, I am not surprised. I'm not surprised one bit.
No, me neither. I'm kind of past, I don't even get very affected by Federman stuff anymore. I think he's just like deeply unwell.
and I don't understand like
I never particularly liked his whole gimmick
but he's so like I wasn't surprised by that's even a little bit
yeah yeah yeah yeah but he is a Democrat
appearing at a made up Republican convention
to try to um
you know rally some sort of excitement
prior to the midterms so the idea that you would claim
your quote a Democrat and show up to the rally
for the right because you're such a centrist
and you're all about America
is wild. Do you have the video?
You want to see the video? Or we don't have it?
Let's see.
A big room of Republicans in Dallas.
Yes, I'm Senator John Betterman, Pennsylvania.
Yes, I'm a Democrat.
Why am I here talking to you today?
Because, well, I'm a common sense Democrat.
I'm always going to stand with America.
I'm always going to reject the extremes and socialism
and that anti-American way of life.
Dave McCormick is the kind of Senate.
that gets the job done and he's going to fight for Pennsylvania.
I'm proud to count him as my friend.
Right back over my shoulder.
That's the iconic U.S. Steel Mill.
U.S. Steel Mill.
This is a politician.
He can't put sentences together.
He will work with President Trump to fight and defend the steel way of life right here in the Steel Valley.
I have this opportunity to introduce this great American, a great senator.
And yes, he's in a different.
party, but I'm proud to count him as my great friend. So for everybody in Dallas, I'm here to
introduce Dave McCormick. He can't, the guy can't, the guy can't talk. And then here's a statement
from him, Rosenberg. I mean, I'm just going to read a piece of Eddie. My remarks introduced Dave
McCormick as a great American and a friend. We're in different parties, but we are both T. We heard
your bad state. Right, right, right. And at the end, look, I'm a lifelong Democrat who votes
my party. And should the Senate flip in November, I will still be.
the 51st vote that I ran on.
I don't believe you.
Sure.
Nobody believes you, bro.
Bitch!
Nobody.
I mean, I believe he'd vote on most things, Democrat, but...
I don't even know.
I don't think he's really voted.
Has he really voted against the Democrats?
No, he's voted with the Democrats of the majority of the time.
Now, though, will he play the position of power if it's 51-49 in the Senate?
Yeah.
That could be...
Well, and it depends on which specific things.
I'm sure on like basic regular stuff he would,
but on these other issues, the Israel stuff,
like there are these different things where he's really cozy up to the right.
Right, right, right.
Bitch!
It'll be interesting to see, but did you see the drama with Hassan Piker?
So I deleted Twitter from my phone yesterday.
Okay.
We talked about that later.
But so when you guys sent the link, and I got to be honest,
it wasn't super appealing just seeing a bunch of people write,
Hassan Pikers meet.
And then there.
So no, what is the video?
Do you have the video?
Let's see you.
There's no shot.
There's no, oh.
Look at what they put.
Oh my god.
What is going on?
No.
No.
No.
No.
No.
No.
No fucking shot.
Oh.
Oh my God.
Prime sign programming has begun and they showed you.
Rewind like four minutes.
Because today's extreme.
left hasn't simply moved away from Republicans
most of the nation is composed of same people what the fuck
trots you've always had socialism and communist party USA
it's not gonna work this then oh that's the Democratic Party
in the street burning
Fucking posted the meat pig
No!
I'm sorry!
Yo!
They posted the meat pig at the fucking Trumpalooza!
I mean, that's really a lot.
What the fuck, no!
Yo, that is crazy.
Bro.
Yo.
His reaction is comedy.
They've learned my peat.
I don't know what else to say about this.
This is, my meat pick is now history.
Don't show this to the barbers and the Deborah's Republicans.
What are you doing?
Barbers and Devers are going to see this and start thinking differently.
Oh, my God.
I don't know if you saw on a group chat, though.
There was a report that the Grindr app crashed again in that area.
For those of you who don't know, the Grindr app is a hookup app,
but it's known for being a gay hookup app.
So.
I feel like every time there's a big right wing thing,
a story comes out about Grindr, I hate to be this person,
but I have to call us out on our own side sometimes.
I don't believe it every time.
There was that, hold on, or they're that horny.
First of all, like, not, okay, are there closeted right-wingers?
Absolutely.
But like, you know, people didn't even go to this thing.
You're telling me the Grindr app couldn't take like a hundred more right-winger
searching for cock in Dallas.
They had to shut down.
What kind of dating app?
Then it's the worst dating app in the world.
What would they do when the Super Bowl comes somewhere?
You know what I mean?
Like, I just think it's one of those stories.
Like, you sent it from some random link.
I think people just say it every time.
And it's funny.
But yeah, I mean, listen, the whole thing was crazy.
I saw some of the clips I saw were just so ridiculous.
Guys, it looks like a comedy skit.
Yo, Tim Scott.
Tim Scott.
Do we put Tim Scott in there?
Tim Scott screaming.
Oh, Tim Scott.
I assume that's the headline that says on our page.
No, it says video, what's video 14?
Louis, you got to label things right.
Yes, okay, okay.
Louis just wrote WWE.
No, he did.
He wrote it himself.
Oh, you did that.
They hate our culture.
Needs to be American.
Crazy.
No, you won't.
Crazy.
Lou, are you going to say something?
Well, I was going to say, honestly, I was ready for him to say afterwards go full
triple-achians.
Are you ready to suck ahead?
But you're disrespecting wrestling by ever acting like a WW promo would be that bad.
The delivery is so bad.
They are just so bad.
Like, sometimes it goes beyond like the hatefulness and all that stuff.
And I'm just like, these are your mans.
Like, this is who you guys, you think this is dope?
Right.
Did you happen to see the video I sent like right before the show started?
Do you get that when I was late?
What about this video of Trump explaining how great Democrats is as a phrase?
Nobody knows that dumb has a bee at the end of it.
What do you mean?
The U.M.
And that's fine.
So the Democrats, as I call them, but I just came up with it a couple of months ago, and I said,
you know, you take out the E and you replace it with a U.
And nobody knows that dumb has a B at the end of it.
Most people think is DUM, and that's fine.
So we take out the E, we replace it with the U, and they're Democrats because their policy,
is so bad.
Bro.
Even the dumbest people know that dumb has a bee at the end.
But that's his audience, though.
No, I think, but by the way, there was a laugh there.
I actually think they're kind of laughing,
like, not intentionally laughing at him.
They don't mean to.
I'm not saying they're, like, against him.
Yeah.
But I think they're organically laughing.
Like, does he think?
Like, it was such a bad line,
and I came up with it a few months ago.
He is, he's, I, I, I, I,
I realized, I was thinking about it the last couple of days,
he's always been like this really sick narcissist.
We know that.
Correct.
You can see it going back forever.
Correct.
Even interviews from 40 years ago, he's kind of the same.
Yeah.
And now as, you know, a child with a parents that are getting to be close to 80,
almost exactly his age.
Yeah.
Like, you can see as people get older, like certain things that they were able to keep contained
start to get a little bit more obvious.
Like my mom, my mom is a very normal sweet lady,
but like my mom, even for example,
her faces of like displeasure
are not something I ever really noticed.
But now if like I tell her something she doesn't like,
I can see in her face a more obvious like,
like what?
That just didn't used to be there
because she had more of like a,
I keep it all kind of tight.
And I don't like, my mom's not nearly as expressive
as her younger son.
And so she didn't express everything.
And now I can see it on her wear it more.
Right.
My dad just like, you know, he still makes all of his like cogent salient points.
But like when we're on the phone, yesterday we were talking at the airport, he doesn't have a filter of like stopping between sentences to maybe like, hey, so how are you?
What's going on?
He might just rock off like seven things straight.
Yeah.
And I'm like, dad, my man.
Calm down.
Calm down.
So I say all of that to say, love my parents.
They're doing relatively pretty good.
but you can see your ability to control things goes away.
So you take a guy who's already been a complete psycho narcissist.
That was with the guardrails up of like a 40-year-old and a 50-year-old and a 60-year-old who's still on point.
Now there's nothing.
Like that whole bit of Democrats and thinking he's like sounding cool.
Like you're telling me, Ivanka's not like, oh, my God, this dude, he said, it's embarrassing.
That's, it's embarrassing.
saying he's lost it.
Yeah.
And even going to the 9-11 comments.
Where you changed that like four times.
Now he got picked up.
He's a big guy, but got picked up.
We have that.
You got tri-fighters.
You got Trump's made-up 9-11 story?
Because we don't want to be disrespectful and play that on 9-11.
Let's play it now.
You have one of the landmark buildings.
No.
That's the original.
That's the original.
That's the original.
He said on 9-11.
But there's, let's see if I see the number.
Even what he actually said on 9-11 was so,
Tone deaf.
Right.
And he was nowhere near,
he was nowhere near the buildings.
Now,
yeah,
he's,
he's,
he was nowhere near the buildings,
but he was doing construction.
And they had a moment,
they were worried that something
that happened,
so they picked him up and,
and he made it sound like a hero's story.
From 9-11.
And he also has added that he had like a hundred of his workers.
Yeah.
Down at the,
the World Trade Center.
He didn't.
Correct.
There's just no proof of any,
the money that he says he gave.
nothing that he says he did related to 9-11 is true.
And then I think the most unhinged part, Louis,
in terms of like the lack of being able to control anything anymore
is the fact that he is incapable on even the 25th anniversary of 9-11
of just staying quiet,
he had to cancel on going to the Pentagon because they won't let him talk.
No, no, it's the other way around.
New York.
I'm sorry.
I'm drunk.
I know.
I'm drunk.
The fact that he had to cancel on going to the World Trade Center
because he can't speak.
Like you can't spend one day with your hands just folded.
Absolutely not.
But that's crazy.
It doesn't surprise me at all.
In a way, I'm kind of relieved because we didn't need him there.
Yeah, no, me too.
It's fine.
It's not about him and he would make it about him.
And by the way, you saw Vance already said shitty things about Biden too.
No.
Vance was like all the other sitting presidents and Vance.
are all gonna be there.
Okay.
And Vance was something like,
oh yeah, Joe Biden's gonna be there.
I'm sure I'm gonna have some
really insightful, smart conversations with Joe Biden.
It's like, my man, are you for no reason talking shit
about the cancer-stricken former president
who you're gonna see at the 9-11?
And what is wrong with you people?
These people are spineless, bro.
They're spineless.
Like what's wrong?
I just don't understand what's wrong with you.
Well, I will tell you this.
The, you can see how desperate
is they're nervous about the midterms.
They're not trying to, you know, they're scrambling.
Go to video 18, Rassan.
Because I peep this, I think Louis sent this in the chat.
And I was like, oh, okay.
I know that we're gonna pull something off,
but check this out.
That only I can make this promise to you.
Oh, this is wild.
And here is my promise.
If the Republicans win the House of Representatives
and the United States Senate, both of them,
because of our economic,
tremendous economic success, like in history, we've never had anything like what's happening.
No, we haven't.
But because of our tremendous strength and success economically, I will issue a dividend to every adult citizen in the United States of America for $5,000.
Do you have the math on this yet?
No.
How many adults are there?
Let's do the math.
Very much like a successful company will do a cash distribution to its shareholders.
Or like last year when I gave our great members of the military, 1776.
Remember?
Bro.
So I was wondering what the newspapers, because we're so used to Trump,
I was wondering what the newspapers would say.
Yeah.
And the Washington Post says, Trump makes case for a.
Iran War promises $5,000 payouts if GOP wins midterms.
The Times says the Times front page is something similar.
GOP convention takeaways.
Trump's $5,000 offer a surprise Democrat and more.
No, no papers just come out with Trump attempts to bribe midterm elections.
Of course not.
He is trying to bribe the American people in front of America.
the most that the Washington Post in the New York Times can say is Trump makes offer.
No, he's the sitting president is trying to bribe the American electorate for the win
in the election.
Yes.
Yes.
To which in turn would be his hope is to maintain power, then probably never leave office.
And now he's literally going to try to throw his own money at it.
And we're so gutless as a society.
We don't even come out and say that this is crazy.
Yeah.
There's no standard for crazy anymore.
No, no, there isn't.
They try to normalize it as much as possible.
They will tap dance around the headlines.
And partly also because they're scared of getting targeted.
They don't want to get sued.
They don't want to get targeted by the Trump administration.
So it's kind of like, yes, I still think you're spineless, but they are scared.
Yeah, I guess so.
I mean, everyone catches a lawsuit.
Yeah.
But like, so if they call it a bribe, then they could get a lawsuit because he will say that that's not true.
Yep.
Yep.
Yep.
So that's where we're at right now.
That's what does.
I wish we had some right wingers who popped up in the chat who could at least call.
I do get bored of us all agreeing with each other.
I need someone to call and try to explain.
Sometimes we have some in the chat.
Sometimes.
844, ELR.
Do we have the ability to answer the phones?
No, griff's here.
Okay.
That's unfortunate.
Well, maybe a message.
You all want to FaceTime me?
Because I want to find Trumpers.
I need to hear from you.
Call Amber.
I need.
Oh, my God.
Maris says they call Amber.
That's crazy.
Yeah, no, last time Amber and I spoke about things and she was trying to explain things to me.
I, listen, I will always love her.
I had to literally, like, oh, my God, my baby dropped my shoe, dropped her shoe.
I got to go.
You got to go.
Now, I wasn't lying.
My, Maya did drop her shoe and I did have to go get it, but I did not call back.
I can't.
You know, she is like a real life, in real life on the phone.
I mean, I don't know if you've had this experience.
She will in real life try to convince you.
Convince you.
Yeah.
And like.
does with whatever.
Yeah, whatever.
That's true.
She's done it with previous causes that were good causes.
But now she's trying to, like last time I spoke to her,
she was trying to explain to me these right wing ideologies that I'm like,
and I, you know, I guess there are some who call me a,
but I'm not the,
I'm just not confrontational with friends like that
where I'm going to be like, hey, everything you're saying is absolutely absurd.
I'm listening.
I was trying to not get to that point because I wanted to try to be,
level-headed.
But do you say,
like the problem is,
yeah, I don't agree with that?
Yeah, I was like, I said, but no,
that doesn't, and I would present something
and she'd say, oh, well, what about this?
And it would be not founded on proper information.
Yeah.
And then, you know, I bring up Stephen Miller,
and she's like, who's Stephen Miller?
Oh, my God.
And I go, if you say who's Stephen Miller,
then why?
I can't talk to you about right-wing.
I can't even talk to you about right-wing politics.
You don't know the things that you're,
and like-
I'm not new to this.
Like I've been having politics conversations
since I was five.
I'm not,
you're not gonna convince me of this now.
I'm not,
you know,
I don't,
it's just awful.
And these people,
and like,
that's why I asked a question the other day
of are we doing the right thing
by brow beating?
Is there a place where we can find
some people who might be just confused in some way?
I know Ebro's philosophy is no,
F that,
that's not our job.
I get that.
I hear him.
I'm not saying he's wrong.
I'm just presenting if our goal is to hope that this changes.
Are we better off saying F these people?
Or are we trying to skim off like some?
Sometimes I agree with you.
And sometimes I feel like it could just be a waste of time.
You're not wrong.
And hear me out because I was just talking to Marissa and Louis behind the scenes.
Like I was watching like BBC coverage, right?
Of the convention.
And they're interviewing people.
And they're just so brainwashed that
no matter what you say, they're just like, no, that's what do we believe.
That's Trump is going to save us.
They're hopeless.
And then sometimes I've been presenting with people who try to hit me with, you know, they don't agree with something I said.
And then when you give them valid, valid truth, they're like, oh, that's fake news.
But that's fake.
How do you know it's real?
It's fake.
Well, those people, no.
They just dismiss it.
But those people are hopeless.
Okay.
But like, for example, I walked into the barber the other day and there was a guy in the chair who,
you know was talking politics and I love my barber shout to my guy is he I wouldn't exactly call
his barber chair you know um an episode of crossfire okay this is not high level political conversation
being had um but but Izzy is on the right side of history okay right in a very in a very you know
in a very um okay is he you know uh I see queenss or Brooklyn I think he's a queens Russian
Queens Queens Russian Jew hopefully you're not disrespecting him no I'm pretty sure he's in Queens I'm
pretty sure he's okay okay but russian jew yeah and and a lot of these russians in in the boroughs
you know are are not it i don't want to generalize but they're definitely a bunch that are not
yeah they're pretty right wing yeah and he's not um anyway so i hear him in the chair talking to a guy
who's like yeah man whoever runs against trump i don't care who it is whoever runs against trump
F this guy.
He's a liar.
You know, he's this, he's that.
I'm never.
And I was just sitting there listening.
And he's like, listen, I didn't even vote last time.
He's probably lying.
He probably voted for Trump.
He's like, I didn't vote last time because, you know, the choices weren't good.
But this time, anyone who runs against Trump.
And I guess what I'm trying to say is we can have the conversation rightfully about why didn't you like Kamala?
You're probably a bigot.
You're probably a sexist.
You're probably all of these things.
We can do that.
I think it's probably more effective
if we want to limit the power of the bigots and the sexists
to get people like him who just are now like anti-Trump
to just get him to vote for the other person.
Let's see.
But like what's our goal?
Is our goal to just scream at people
for the rest of time as the world burns
or is the goal to get the power back to people?
This is going to be the ultimate question for the Democrats.
Because like I talked about the other day, and I don't think any of Abdul Syed's, Al Sayad's policies are crazy.
They're not.
So he's not like some crazy left-wing politician.
No, they just, they just discriminate against him because of his name and his religion.
Yes, and now they've added, yes.
And then they've also now added the Hassan Piper, the, you know, the Democratic Socialist.
Hold on.
Where does he put that drop?
Democratic Socialists.
They've added all of those things.
Laura's version is not.
That's it.
Thanks Maya.
No, no, it's this.
No, no, no.
No, that's conspiracy.
No?
No.
It's conspiracy theory.
L-L-J, cool, Jay.
That's what I'm going to feel by you right now.
I was always a naughty girl guy.
You know what I mean?
That's your one.
You're going to shut your white mouth.
That's the one for you right now because we can't find it.
I can't find it.
I can't find it.
All right.
But like, we're just going to have to, oh.
There are going to have to be, you know, it's a really complicated thing because I know in no way.
do I think the left right now should capitulate.
I do think that we need to move this whole thing much further left.
But I think AOC is a great example of seeing someone who still is standing on all the foundational things that she ran on.
Yeah.
But is learning to play enough ball to be able to try to get some centrist.
Yes, you don't want to become centrist.
Yeah.
But you do need to get some of the centrist.
We have, like, I just don't think we can stress this enough.
we have to win the midterm.
And then they have to win the presidential election.
And like I literally think Armageddon is on the line.
Now I sound like a crazy right wing zeal.
But the way I see these video clips moving around about what the AI companies are doing,
Palantir and every one of these different AI companies,
if we don't get like adults in the room,
you can't get the owners of these AI companies to admit that they want human life to continue.
Bro.
And then how many times that we've seen people who have resigned from these companies
and become whistleblowers on like, yeah, it's going to be bad.
They, they, I just, did you see the Ted Cruz stuff this week?
Yeah.
But apparently that was an old clip.
I saw the clip.
Ted Cruz talked to Elon Musk and basically Musk told Cruz,
he thinks there's only like a 10 to 20% chance that will all be killed by robots in the next five or 10 years.
10 to 20%.
That's Elon Musk.
You guys.
So I'm just saying if we don't find, if we don't find a way to get power back.
Yeah.
And I still was having this conversation yesterday.
I was at a funeral and like just chatting with my friend's uncle.
And we were just like, I was like, do you really think Trump's going to not run?
Like, do you think he's really just going to step aside and be like, hey, guys, it's time for J.D. Vance.
No.
I don't think I buy that.
I don't buy it either.
Well, I don't think he's going to run again.
I think he's going to keep playing this game.
I think he's older.
I don't think he really wants to do this much anymore, to be quite honest.
But he's not going to give anybody a rub.
Like he's not going to give you don't think he'll put over anyone he's not going to put over
Anybody he wants them bowing their knees to him
To say I can see that give me your support but he's not going to give him the support
He would have done it by now but like even but then how are they gonna win that he doesn't
He doesn't care because no but he doesn't care it's not I actually think he probably would if he doesn't run he probably wants him to lose
Yeah, he doesn't care because all he's gonna do he's gonna go to his board of peace he already set things up from
himself afterwards he has the board of peace he's going to be doing things for himself
and enriching himself through what he's yeah and he wants the right to miss him forever he
yeah yeah he wants to be the savior like by the way i want to tell everyone uh i flew in and out of
donald j trump airport yesterday yeah yeah and you know they got to really please him it's
actually officially it's president donald j trump airport and i'm here to
tell you one thing about
President Donald J. Trump Airport
considering he is a man who likes
everything to be fancy and like covered
in gold, it is an
unbridled shithole.
Oh my God. It is a
small market.
It is a small market
nasty
shithole. Now
I loved it
because it's small and I love any
small airport. So I don't care if it's like
ugly and nasty and whack.
As long as like you walk in and security has no line
and you go like right to your plane like Burbank
or any of the small airports, I love it.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
So it is a very usable airport in that way.
But in terms of like what he would like,
because you know, he doesn't want,
he doesn't care if it's small and convenient.
He wants giant and gold.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
It has not.
Dude, the floors look like they haven't been replaced
since 1980.
Oh, God.
It's horribly old.
So anyone who's going to West Palm Beach.
How do they have three airports in South Florida?
It's crazy.
West Palm, Fort Lauderdale and Miami,
all within an hour is just wild to me.
You want to get to the rundown?
We can.
Let's do it.
Laura got the rundown.
Turned that up.
Screen's on glow when she pulls up.
Headlines heavy, but we still cut up.
Life still flashing.
We don't slow up.
So Louis sent me this, well,
sent us in the group chat this morning.
That Buck Wild from Star and Buck Wilde passed away.
Yeah, I saw that.
Now the reason, you know, this is it.
You know, I used to work for Star and McWild.
That's I thought about, right when I saw it?
And a lot of people, there's still a lot of people who don't know
because this happened really early on in my career.
Now, I worked for Star in Buckwold, not when they were on Hot 97.
When I was on, I was working at Power 1051 when Power 1051 launched.
And I was like an associate producer.
So, listen, one day I'll open up about some of the crazy things that happened behind
the scenes in that show.
But, you know, not yet?
Like, I always say, like, listen, my experience, my person,
experience with him was always positive.
Like, Star always treated me with respect.
Well, that makes one of us.
He always treated me with a lot of grace.
So I don't have...
That's what I think, what I think, Star.
I don't have...
I know, but I don't have that experience.
So I can't lie about what I went through.
And by the way, and by the way, you shouldn't.
If he was good to you, it's, you should say he was good to you.
So, and then, you know, and then Buck Wilde was a...
He was so crazy.
Like, I remember him, like, skateboarding up and down the hallways and just being a fool.
But he was always super...
fun and super nice and
you know I just you know I
it's sad it's very but I got like
I never knew much about Buck Wilde to be honest
like obviously I didn't live in New York when Star and Buck
were having their moment but I was very
like aware of what the show was
yeah and I was very aware of like Stars
stories yeah was was
like how much did Buck Wild even talk
on the show he didn't talk that much
relative to the show right no it was not an even
co like the billing was bigger
than the role on the show for sure right
but Star would do that on purpose he would prop him up
all the time. He wanted it to look like a big thing,
but really Buck didn't do that much, right?
Not really. I remember, like,
in their column in the source, too.
Like, I just remember his name
always being around. Yeah. But I really
couldn't tell you what he looks like, and I couldn't tell you what he
sounds like. Yeah. I mean, Star would
always, like, protect and uplift him.
You know, he really held him down.
He would joke, like, he didn't know if he was his son or his half-brother.
There was always, like, all these jokes. Was he younger than him?
Yeah. Yeah, yeah. He was a young kid.
So, but.
Damn, man, that sucks.
Rest in peace, man.
Rest in peace.
To me, he was always a good person.
He always treated me with a lot of, like, you know, good energy.
And that's all I can say.
Hey, sending love to Star, too.
That sucks.
I'm sure he'll do, you know, Star still online.
I'm sure he'll do some sort of tribute.
I'd imagine, I don't know what their relationship was.
Yeah, I believe he did one last night.
Oh, he already closed last night.
So he spent some time, like, just talking about the journey and highlighting moments.
I saw a clip.
I mean, listen, it is a, it is an iconic moment in radio history.
You look back at the time at which they were on top
And it was incredibly brief
Yeah
But it was incredibly impactful
Yeah I mean listen to me
It's probably one of the wildest rides in radio
Like wildest rides in radio
No no they're 30 for 30 all day
Yeah like it's like how fast they ascended to the top
How like different it was
It was it's a really interesting moment in time
That was super impactful
And I hope one day
Star will put out you know what I mean
his story, like the whole journey
so people can see, because there was a lot to it.
So, yeah. So, I mean, the right person
to tell that, finding the right person
to help tell that story, it would be super interesting.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, so rest in peace.
Rest and peace, Buckwild. How old, do we know how old he was?
I do not know, 47, yeah.
Yeah, and I believe he died of an overdose,
which is super sad.
Oh, breaks my heart.
That's tough.
In other news, man, I saw this pop up.
Norie is facing sexual assault
allegations.
They were filed by Carmen Bryan, who is, there you go, who is the mother of Naz's daughter.
Oh, it's Carmen, right.
Yeah, so she claims that Anori physically overpowered her and assaulted her inside a Manhattan nightclub in 1999.
She alleges that he was drunk, they was visibly intoxicated, and committed non-consensual digital penetration, despite her please to stop.
So how do these I believe is using his fingers.
Thank you.
Thank you, Laura.
What are you with some sort of medical expert?
No, but I know that term confused a lot of people.
Oh, it did?
It did.
Well, people need to learn to read.
Yes, yes.
It confused a lot of people.
A digit is what's on your fingers.
Yes.
So can you?
Marisa, shut up.
Risa, shut up.
They're all right.
It's a serious story, but it was hard on.
Sorry, sorry.
But here's my question.
Can you randomly say in 2026 that in 1999,
is that because they opened the statute of limitations on essay cases?
So I believe she's suing under the New York City's gender-motivated violence law
to seek compensation.
So she wants money.
So they can't seek criminal court.
They can seek money.
Yeah.
They can see criminal repercussions.
They can seek money.
Yeah.
And then like, oh, gosh.
So she alleges that, you know, she says that she left the club crying.
She's saying that he followed her outside asking, don't you know who I am, before recognizing her.
And then he apologized.
She claims that he say, well, you keep changing your hairstyle, so I didn't know it was you.
And then she says that she told Jay-Z about the event, that he threatened to confront Norie.
And then she asked him not to get involved.
And I was like, why are you putting Jay-Z's name in this?
I don't know, I don't know.
But she is suing and she is looking for money.
Listen, we, we, we, it's very good that we live in a time when all things related to
essay are taking very seriously.
Yeah.
Flip side of that coin.
It's, it's, it does feel crazy, 27 years later.
I understand everyone has their own journey of coming to like moments of reckoning of
things that are traumatic.
But like, it is, norie's gotten the biggest he's ever gotten.
Yeah.
You know, it's just, we'll see.
We'll see.
All you can do is let it play out.
Right.
Now, I'm sure you guys saw reports of Jimmy Kimmel saying that he was going off air.
So all these rumors are currently denied by the network.
Oh.
They're saying that the show will conclude in May 2027.
ABC has stated that these cancellation rumors are inaccurate.
So it is going to, so you mean so it's not concluding in 20207?
It says his show will conclude May 27.
But that's what the rumor is, but they're denying that.
They're denying it.
Yeah, I didn't see him mention at all, did he?
No.
So I think there were rumors because I think he would have said something.
I mean, I saw, the only thing clip I saw moving around of him
was him saying that his interview with Tolariko that he has today
has to be put on YouTube and the networks won't.
Which is so why.
They won't allow him to do it on TV.
Right.
Yeah, the fact that he can't air his interview is so crazy.
But, you know, when Ebro responded to this in our text
with, you know, his regular made-up commentary of what's not actually
happening but you get some interesting insight coming from it when he starts telling his own version
of the events he's like yeah why wouldn't he go he could do his own thing and be bigger i'm like i don't
think anyone's suggesting he's leaving on his own bro they're suggesting it's canceled yeah yeah but his
point but i bro's point is not wrong like i mean if kimmo leaves if kimmel leaves like you're
telling me if he did a youtube show wouldn't be the biggest youtube interview show with millions
of views every night though i think it would be pretty successful but look at what happened to don't
Lemon, he's bigger than ever.
At least I think.
No, no, Don Lemon is bigger than ever.
And by the way, and Don Lemon was not a hundredth of Jimmy Kimmel when he left CNN.
Yeah.
He would like, not even close.
Jimmy Kimmel would be, he would still get all the A-List celebrities.
Like, he could do a million.
He could go on his own if this continues to be.
But also, it is the bag, though.
Right.
I mean, Jimmy Kimmel gets paid a lot of money.
And there's a lot of money in production of Jimmy Kimmel.
Yeah.
If you're Jimmy Kimmel, do you feel like?
doing the show that is produced way cheaper than what you're currently used to.
And then you're going to spend your own money to produce it.
And exactly.
Yeah.
And but you do have to remember like take all the politics out of this and the fact that
you know, freedom of speech is under attack from the right.
These shows aren't really worth the squeeze for networks anymore.
You do have to remember that part like Jimmy Kimmel, Jimmy Fallon.
There's a reason most so many of these shows have gotten canceled and it's actually not the
politics.
It's just there's so much money and no one watches live TV.
Bro, you know the last time I stayed up and watched a late night show?
Yeah.
And we're, and we're closer, we're close to the age of people they think would watch.
Right, right, right, right.
So it's all YouTube clips anyway.
Yeah, because like I never stay up to watch SNL.
I'll catch a clip.
You know what I mean?
Yeah.
I can't even tell you the last time I watched.
Well, SNL, I actually, SNL I'll occasionally watch from 1130 to 12, but that's a weekend.
Yeah.
Week nights?
Yeah, we're cooked.
We're cooked.
They're just not making their money there either.
Yeah.
Louis, what were you going to say?
Well, no.
We were talking about Don Lemon,
and I just wanted to shout at Don Lemon
because he actually this week
launched his own 24-7 news channel.
Oh, I need 24-7 of Don Lemon.
Oh, okay.
Yeah, called the Don Lemon channel.
It's going to be out of my house 24-7.
As you guys were talking about how he's just growing his brand all the time.
Right.
He went from YouTube channel to a network to now a whole news channel.
Well, just like us.
We have our own news channel, ELR News weekly.
Exactly.
You know what?
I think once a week is fine.
Yeah.
I don't know if I need Don 24-7,
but I'm sure he's in a fill
with lots of other people and stuff like that.
Yes, so, you know, new episodes of ELR News
drop Friday, so make sure you guys take it out.
There's one tomorrow, right?
Yep.
Brand new episode of ELR News.
Now, we talked about Norie some here in the rundown.
Have you been keeping up at all with the Vlad Nori of it all?
No, bro.
After a while, I just tapped out.
I know he's going to have a field day with this one, though.
Who?
Vlad!
With these allegations.
Oh, yeah, I'm sure.
The one thing I'll say is
Well there's a couple things
One
I'm really trying not to play ball with Vlad right now
Who keeps saying nasty shit about me
Now I did I did tweet something
Of course you did
Like a week ago
That's I think I'd set him off because the norri said something
And I laughed at something
Or I did something
So I'm not innocent
I definitely said something
And then he turned it back into his regular shit about me
But also independently of that
He went on Mark Lamont Hill
And for the thousandth time
told the same stupid story about me and him that's not nearly the indictment of me that he thinks it is um
Vlad has clearly decided he's like doesn't want to pay rappers every day anymore and he thinks he can just
do this thing by just getting on camera himself and I think he's probably right I think he's probably
built up enough of a brand that now videos will move around where he's just interviewing himself because
we went years where Vlad was never on camera yeah and then all of a
sudden I'm like oh my god Billy June really cleaned up his act and it's and it's flat on camera
yeah yeah and he's doing all these videos so I'm like not really trying to give him more content
but I will say one thing and I know how chat will probably get mad at me although I don't know if
people are honest I wonder if people would agree okay so the Vlad Nori thing clearly feels like
just nasty work and people just trying to get views and whatever I don't really you know Vlad
came out and said Norrie never did my show and then he threw like
an entire hissy fit about Norrie blowing off his show
and what a sucker and snake Norrie is for that.
It sounded like the bitchiest crying of all time.
Bro, we've all had friends who we like,
and people we've done shit for who don't do it back.
Like, it's just so regular in our business.
But whatever.
I think he was trying to get views
and it turned into this whole back and forth.
The one thing, though, the one thing I will say, though,
and it takes a lot for me to quote unquote defend Vlad.
I don't know that I love that Norrie's response.
was just like, and I love, by the way,
N-R's my brother, love Nory, even if he goes up to Hot 97
and says New York is back, we love Norey.
He's our dude.
In real life, he's been nothing but great to me.
Yes.
But I will say, I didn't love that his default was just like,
you're a racist, I bet you say the N-word.
I was like, that's, there's so many things to go at Vlad for.
There is no, I have, and Louie, am I missing anything?
Believe me, I would be the first to tell you guys.
I don't think there's any history to say that Vladford.
is a racist.
I don't think that's ever been a thing.
No, he's just, yeah,
culture of torture,
but you can,
but not a racist.
Yeah,
well,
you know,
Vlad is sort of the ultimate culture
vulture,
although I had to tell you,
and I,
I hated seeing this.
He said in one of his videos,
as you can see,
this is why I got off Twitter,
because the algorithm,
now I'm watching Vlad videos.
It's time for me to go.
But he said he was like,
I've paid,
his argument was I've paid out
over $1.5 million dollars
in artist interviews.
Basically,
how am I a culture vulture
when I've given people
a million and a half dollars.
It's for you to make money back, though.
I agree, but I will say, no, no, listen, I agree with you.
It is for him to make money back.
But it is still a good argument.
Like, I don't respect it because I think the idea,
journalistically, of paying people for interviews is completely flawed and unethical.
Like, if you're paying people to say things,
especially when he's getting people to talk about crime and shit like that,
you're getting people to tell on people, you're doing all kinds of nasty shit,
and they're doing it because you're getting money.
So it's not charitable.
Yeah.
But it is a strong, it's a,
good way for him to defend culture vulture because he's like, well, at least I'm giving people
money. Anyways, his content sucks. It makes the culture worse. I absolutely loathe it. And I can't
believe y'all have given this guy hundreds of millions of views. All that being said, though,
I thought Noray just going racist was like, is that really the argument? Yeah, no. It was
kind of weak. It was just, it was just, there's so many, there's so many other things to do.
Yeah. I mean, I just hope it just all. And then I thought, you hope it all what? You hope it all, what?
It all gets wrapped up.
Yeah, I'm done with it.
It's not going to get wrapped up because I'm telling you,
Vlad's new thing is on camera,
so now he's got to keep this thing up.
I'll tell you one thing about Vlad.
You really keep playing with Norrie.
Like, I really wouldn't keep playing with Norrie.
Like, the level of disrespect he's going to
as if Norrie has always just been Mr. Friendly Haha podcaster,
like your memory is obviously extremely short.
And mine is not.
Like, I have really good memory of what CNN was.
So I just like the idea that he keeps calling people all kinds of bitches and hoes and
Like like Vlad for an overgrown Billy June you talk crazy
I think that Vlad even went to Norway's wife the other day I saw that he went after his wife
Yeah, he's like white and yeah and how she's like white and then and then bro you don't
You don't think you sound like a clown when you get on camera and you're like let me tell you about how much I love black women all the women I date are
black it's like bro you're already losing if you're doing you the whole thing is it's just
terrible it is between that and me having to see another fat joe n-word discussion
like the videos just keep coming for that this thing is i've always been going on for 10 years
i know i know listen to decide some of y'all don't have to like fat jo people can not like fat joe people
can like fat joe it just felt like i was like what was new what was uncovered that was new in
this conversation well he did go on on the show button podcast right i saw that
He doubled down and then he also said, I'm the blackest N-word.
Yeah.
That was a hell of a quote.
That was a hell of a quote.
Yeah, that's a comment that got people like, it's right.
No, honestly, that wasn't, to me that, well, that was a bad quote for a variety of reasons.
But to me, the more damning quote of the clips that I saw is that Joe goes back and forth between saying his family is black.
And then the other part of I grew up around it, which is like not a good argument.
argument.
Yeah.
That's like what Hulk Hogan's response was like when I was at the basketball cart,
brother, people were saying the N-word.
That's not, you're either, you are either literally, you are either literally black and
your family has black blood running through your veins or you're not.
You can't just be like, I grew up near Melly Mell.
That's not going to help your argument.
No.
If you're going to get into this argument, which he did.
Yeah.
And then why were people coming from Mark Lamont Hill?
I.
Because Mark made a response.
Yeah.
And then just said, Joe, you're not black.
You can't do it.
Right.
But then I saw, like, people I really like who, like, don't know Mark Lamont Hill coming after Mark Lamont Hill as if Mark Lamont Hill as if Mark Lamont Hill.
As if Mark is just like some square who doesn't know anything about culture.
I think they're just saying you can't speak on New York if you're not a New Yorker.
Oh, my God.
We're back to that.
You are in the muddy waters of the internet.
What?
This is why I deleted Twitter.
Like, you are in there.
This is why I deleted Twitter.
And I downloaded an app called Be Present.
Okay.
What the hell is that?
It's a serious.
phone the face screen time
restriction app
they claim
okay they will get my screen time
down like at least in half
if not more all right
all right just stay off Twitter bro
keep it
keep it deleted
you read downloaded it just well that's what I'm hoping
this app will replace as instead of redownloading
it I'll follow the app and actually
yeah not do this shit yeah Twitter's bad
bro I end up watching these
like it's not even you think this is bad
You think Joe Budden and Vlad TV clips are bad.
I end up watching things that are like craziest moments on watch what happens live with Andy Cohen.
I'm like, why am I watching this?
No, it will take you down an insane rabbit or like clips of like shows from the past.
I know.
For some reason, I was like, you're listening to me because they were giving me SVU clips.
So you know I was in.
I was like, oh my God, I remember this episode.
You would really get locked into an SVU clip.
Bro, it just, it's like clip after clip after the most random things.
I was like, I got to go.
No, by the way, guys, dead ass, content is going to be the end of all of us.
Yeah.
This word, content, because it really is.
And that's why I always said I didn't want us to be in the content game, because I really do, like, believe that having meaningful conversation and doing radio shows where you're, like, hanging out with people is different than literally, like, just chopping up pieces of crap to suck people into wasting their life.
Speaking of which, we are all going to have our life wasted on a huge screen thanks to the new eye.
iPhone. Oh yeah. Yeah, I saw it. Apple finally, I can say this without Ebro here. Apple finally did something. Every year, Apple's having their big release. And I go, great. They're going to announce a new camera. Woo-de-doo! They actually announced something that made me stop what I was doing and go, wow, they went with the double the fold-up screen joint. That is one of the true droid things I ever saw that I was like, that's fire.
Apple needs to do that and they're doing it.
Did you see the prices, Laura?
$2,000.
Lowest one.
Oh, that's the lowest one.
Oh, you want the bullshit one?
Oh, yeah.
Okay, so that's like the kid version.
The baby one.
No, it's the smallest memory.
The 256 gigs is $2,000.
Okay.
You can go all the way up to two terabytes for just $3,600.
Yeah, I'm so good.
They're going to have, we're going to be walking around now, though.
Phones are already expensive.
Think about, I wonder like if the level of crime would go.
up with people walking around with fucking $3,000 computers in their pocket.
I know, I know.
Well, I was going to say, and don't forget, we have a microchip shortage, and it's
getting worse and worse.
So everything's going to get more expensive, and crime is really going to get worse because
people are going to try to steal these things.
By the way, the microchip shortage is caused, but is it somehow AI related?
Why do we have a microchip shortage?
I believe so.
And then some of these people are.
Or is it the metals?
Yeah.
Yeah, something like that.
But at the end of the day, that's why there's like a shortage on PS5s.
There's a shortage on MacBooks.
There's a shortage.
It's going to be a shortage of phones coming soon.
When is this phone actually dropping?
I think a couple weeks.
Now, I'm not going to lie, though.
This is one I wanted, though.
It is because what I love about it.
You over here talking mad-ish and you're going to get it.
Yeah, that's right.
Yeah, I'm not.
You wouldn't want it?
I'm good.
Listen, I'm the type of person.
Like, I don't get a new phone until something's wrong with my phone.
Like, I don't run to get the latest version.
Because you know Rick's getting it.
Maybe.
Maybe.
To me, I don't really.
Here's why, here's why, here's why to me it's worthwhile.
As someone who uses my phone a lot to watch straight up TV, like Natalie does not like the TV on when she's going to sleep.
It's too bright in our room.
So if I want to watch wrestling or something, I have to watch on my phone.
So the idea that I could have it folded like next to the bed with the like the screen.
That to me is useful.
Just use an iPad.
That's, that's, that's.
I just use my iPad.
He wants to use an iPad, and I just want the phone, right?
Oh, God.
So you want a smaller screen in your iPad?
That I can fold up.
No, they got me.
This is a good one.
I get credit or credit is due.
Most of them, I do not care.
This one is a winner.
In other news, Janago revealed that she's dropping her first album in six years.
It's called West Side Whimsie.
It's coming out September 11th.
That's tomorrow to you.
Yeah, she also said that Kendrick Lamar is featured on a track call So Good.
Good. She got Absol, Larry June, Tyga.
So let's see, I love Jeanne.
I have not heard of Jeanne music in a long time.
That's what I'm saying. I'm excited about it.
And she is her and Big Schaughner no more, correct?
She's now with Larry June.
That's the rumor.
That's what they're saying.
Marissa, is that like official official?
It's confirmed.
Confirmed.
Yeah, because I know they were in the music video together.
So everybody was like hard launch, but you know.
Hey, so my girl, Jeunay loves a hard launch music video.
Or even a soft launch.
She's had soft launch music videos.
She's had hard launch music videos.
But no, congrats.
I want to check out the Jene Project in a Kendrick verse.
Yes, yes, yes.
So let's see.
Well, that's wrapping our long-ass rundown this time.
Oh.
Do we have time for a guru?
We should.
We should because people miss it.
Laura, do I have a guru?
Y'all miss it, but do you send gurus?
I don't know.
That's producer group's job.
So let's see.
I have one that says,
career a career advice question.
Okay, okay.
So there is a guru.
So it's guru.
You got you.
It's a jace.
All right.
Original gurus at gmail.com.
Original gurus at gmail.com.
Put on my glasses for this.
Don't ever play yourself.
Again, the original gurus at gmail.com.
That's where you email us.
Yes, your destination for clarity, Laura.
I'm a big fan of the show going back to the days of hot.
Not all the way back to the days of hot.
I'd like to start off by thanking you guys for being part of my mornings
and for helping me through some tough times during the pandemic
in my line of work, there was no stay at home.
I was outside.
Retired from the city after 21 years of service,
and I'm considering a career path in video slash audio production.
Okay.
There's a pretty reputable school in the tri-state area
that offers a program reasonably priced that can be completed under a year.
In your opinion, is it realistic to think that I can pursue this career path
and obtain fulfilling work in this field in near future?
fully aware that I have to work my way up and pay my dues,
not interested in on air,
behind the scenes where I see myself,
very appreciative of what my former career provided me with,
but it was never a passion.
I'd love to know for once what it feels like
like you get paid to do something I enjoy.
FYI, I'm in your age bracket with that in mind
and the amount of time it could potentially take
to get employment after completing schools.
It worked my time and money,
not into chasing fantasies.
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Hmm.
I mean, listen, I think it's, I think you have a better opportunity and a better chance working behind the scenes.
We'll give you that much.
I think it's video editing that he wants to do.
It sounded like.
So you could use that in a number of ways.
But you do.
I mean, it's, I mean, the skills for that is always evolving.
Like I'm looking at our sound right now.
Video slash audio production.
Yeah.
So if you're going to start from the bottom, just.
You know, it's going to be a nice road.
Here's what I would say.
There is a way to make money.
Yeah.
Because so many people make, wait for it.
Content.
You have so much content being made that you can be a part of people's crappy content.
Everyone needs someone to shoot.
Everyone needs someone to do audio.
I think that I'm making this up and I would love to hear Bascom's thoughts.
But to me, if I had a little bit of time and money to,
to like start a thing, it would be learning,
doing a certain portion of learning,
camera side, audio side, like spending six months
to a year on that.
Yeah.
But then I would maybe launch my own business
where like your own mini production house
where you can like do things for people.
Because I do think there's money to be made.
If people could find out about your services
creating, like producing content for people,
mad people are spending money to have content produced.
And now it's not just people who wanna have podcasts.
Like everyone,
needs content. Like a hospital needs content. You know what I mean? It's like a law firm.
Everybody needs content. Everyone needs content. Yeah, a baby shower. A housewife who just wants to
show the world what she's doing every day. Yeah. Um, what do you think, Baskin? No, I agree
what you said. Like definitely having a camera and some, some audio, your own audio equipment is
going to be beneficial. But everybody has a camera. Everybody is shooting. So breaking in is going
be difficult. If you could have a space where people could come to you,
um, that's a good idea. And have like, sit couches, uh, tables, mics, everything set up
where you could have like in-house production. I think that would give you the edge
because people, everybody wants to have content. They don't always know where to do it. And if you
have a space equipped for everything. Yeah, that's a useful. Yeah, and then you're paying a rental
fee on top of everything. Exactly. Yeah. Yeah. So there is a way to do it. Yeah. Yeah, but then, but to start to get the
to make some money because I was going to take money.
It's also pitching your services to like places that you,
that wouldn't necessarily seek out.
Because I'm telling you,
a friend of mine just got a job like she's doing social media for,
um,
a,
like a zillow.
You know what I mean?
And it's because you need it.
I said every company needs social media.
That's true.
No you're 100.
Right.
And then editing.
So it's like you can start by pitching yourself to like different companies.
So I think there's an opportunity.
The bigger question is,
is it worth it to like go to school for it?
Like is anybody,
going to care that you got like a year degree in anything?
I think it's more about just learning the knowledge.
I think you go to like a trade school.
You know?
That's kind of what you're saying.
It sounds like, or they're saying, but like, just find a way to learn it.
I don't think having anything on paper makes a difference for you.
Yeah.
I think people will need to see a body of work.
Like, oh, hey, oh, you have a website where you can show you've done things and then just
being able to do it.
If that's, if you have to do that through school, sure.
But I'm not, don't, I certainly wouldn't act as if getting some sort of thing on paper
is going to help you get a job.
Correct.
I don't think it,
unless you just want to go get hired by a company
where maybe that would be helpful.
Yeah.
Otherwise, I don't think it's going to do much for you.
Good luck to you.
So say the gurus.
All right, guys,
thank you guys for hanging out with us today.
Does that mean it's time?
It is time.
Tomorrow, we are doing a short, free program.
Yes.
And a Patreon program as well.
Absolutely.
So please send us your videos and your voice notes.
We want to get some you.
Yes.
Send them those videos and voice notes right now.
Now, Ebro Laura Rosenberg at gmail.com.
We will see you on the Friday show.
There's also a Patreon from two days ago that we did.
If you did not catch up with that one,
we did a full hour on Patreon for that too.
It's a juicy one with Rob Markman.
So I hope you dig that.
Thanks, guys.
All right.
Bye.
Peace.
Don't call it a podcast.
