Starting point is 00:00:00 Just don't call in a podcast. The Ebro-Lara Rosenberg show. Good morning. Yo, listen, man. Listen, man, it's a lot of people catching it, bro. Well, some more than others, though. Nah, it's going to be... You want to go back?
Starting point is 00:00:26 You want to go back to yesterday's show now and give me my credit? On which one? You were hesitating on the button. I'm like, this is such a button. And you were like, for who? The Ed Shearin thing. Oh, right, right, right. You were holding on on the button.
Starting point is 00:00:37 You were being judicious with the button. Yesterday, I've never seen an avalanche button like that. Nah. Well, I guess, but so my hesitation really wasn't towards Ed Shearing. Congratulations. You played yourself. When you were like, Ed Shearren played himself. I was like, I don't really know he would have just had, he either, he would have had to pick a side.
Starting point is 00:00:58 Right? That's my point. There was no. He misread. He clearly was being political. and trying to read which way to go and he read so wrong. Well, no, but he read what, which is,
Starting point is 00:01:10 he read like, yo, I have fans that bought a bunch of tickets. I can't get into a situation where I can't do the shows. Well, guess what? That's what he was reading. And guess where we're at now? I know. Can't do the shows unless he gets a new band.
Starting point is 00:01:23 New band, new openers. I mean, you want to jump into the rundown? The rundown quickly? I mean, we're here. Maybe we start a show with the rundown every day. Is that the new format? May as well be. That's what people want.
Starting point is 00:01:35 That's what's going on out here. All right. So let's get things together. Okay, so Ed Shearin issued a statement. Did he? And he basically, I mean, we're going to show you this statement, but he's basically confirming that Robert Kraft pressured him and forced him to take McLemore off the tour.
Starting point is 00:01:52 Right. And following McClure's exit, all of Ed Shearin's opening acts and his band have pulled out of the tour. Everyone. Well, so one thing we, you may not know if you live in North America or on this side of the globe is that the Irish from Ireland
Starting point is 00:02:08 don't play when it comes to representing for oppression and representing for oppressed peoples. It's kind of like a part of their heritage because of their history. Yeah. And his backup band is like Irish musicians. Yeah. So Aaron Roe said,
Starting point is 00:02:24 I cannot stand by and allow billionaires to use their position of power to silence the rightful voices and those who speak up against Israeli genesis side and who highlight the savage murder of children. Artists must not be silenced when they speak up for the oppressed. And as I was saying earlier, the button. This, this is.
Starting point is 00:02:46 Even Ms. Rachel was like. Well, Ms. Rachel, me know, Rachel's ready. That's not actually, Ms. Rachel's ready for smoke. She called Ed Shearing out too. Yeah. So did AOC. It's, and that's why the button is the perfect thing because he didn't start this. He just completely mishandled it.
Starting point is 00:03:04 That's why it's the ultimate button. Now the whole thing's about Ed Shearin. Yeah. It was about McLemore. Maclemore is the side story. Ed Shearin is the story. Well, and I guess I don't know what people thought. What was Ed She said?
Starting point is 00:03:16 So to everyone's point, and this is a real question I have, he should have just canceled his tour. That's what everyone thinks Ed Shearin should have done. It's just said, hey, I'm not going to have opening acts and people forced to be silenced on stage. If you don't want to have my show come to your stadium, fine. That's what people would have wanted. He could have said, I want to perform.
Starting point is 00:03:42 All of my opening acts want to perform. They're not allowing me to perform on their platform. I said that yesterday. You guys are changing what the situation is. Lawyer up and you have to now back. Yes, that's what he had to do. And that's why I keep saying misread the situation. because for the previous forever in history,
Starting point is 00:04:03 the political move would have been, I'm going to do what the rich billionaire says to do because I got to protect my chicken. Because obviously he doesn't care about the issue that much. I'm just being real. Obviously doesn't mean that much to him. So, you know, that's disappointing, but that's where we are.
Starting point is 00:04:18 Because if it meant a lot to him, he would have wrote out in the first place. He didn't. He thought, all right, I got to watch my business interests. In doing that, he read where, the wind is blowing completely the wrong way. This is back to what I was saying yesterday. Israel has botched their entire worldwide lifetime marketing plan is dead.
Starting point is 00:04:42 It's a they know it's it's the whole thing. It's you can't standing with them is the L now. It changed. I'm not saying there won't be repercussions for people who stand against them. But overall, the wind is blowing the other direction. The people have spoken. worldwide they're not with the shits I'm trying to think
Starting point is 00:05:02 I guess on the outside I think you guys are right and I think everybody's right like in its simplest forms I'm thinking about the legal ramifications if I'm Ed Shearing and I signed a contract to play at these to do this tour okay and because a stadium says
Starting point is 00:05:22 hey you can't bring or it was multiple stadiums it wasn't just one but they were all there was only I think three of them that said hey right and then macklemore came out with a statement and ed sharon was basically like yo this decision wasn't made by me this was made by other individuals right specifically robert craft specifically robert craft okay i think in some and this is just my business brain thinking i think in some ways ed sharon still gets his touring money because this isn't his fault and I think that he can still pay the individuals who said,
Starting point is 00:06:02 I can't perform under these circumstances. So there might still be a legal course for Ed Shearin because he was forced into a situation. I see what you're saying. Yeah. He didn't bail on the situation. Right. Right.
Starting point is 00:06:14 The heat he's getting is just going to be the heat, right? But that, yeah. That's just what it is, right? But as far as like owing, owing money, because that becomes, like, these. tours are you're talking about hundreds of millions of dollars that a that a I don't know who the promoter is live nation whoever could say yo you owe us money now because live nation we got to refund all these tickets all of the the stadiums and bookings and whatever whatever all that has to get
Starting point is 00:06:42 paid right like you don't just get to walk away from you know reserving a stadium and staffing and all of the things that we're planning to go in and you don't just get to walk away from that so in this scenario ed Sheeran's not on the hook to that's what I'm thinking of about. Yeah, well, yeah, you're probably right. But on the outside looking in, everybody's going to pile on and blame Ed. I'm just thinking about the reputational part for him because he'll survive the financial part and yeah,
Starting point is 00:07:06 it can't all be on him. He's not broke guys. But his, well, surviving the financial part is not as easy as people always think of hundreds of millions of dollars. I'm not saying it is. I'm just guessing you're right that it's not going to all fall on him at this point. Like this is now such a fiasco. I'm just thinking about
Starting point is 00:07:25 the lesson it was in not doing the right thing in trying to play it so safe. He tried to play it safe. His statement yesterday was horrifying. Do we have the statement? You have it in there? The only piece that I was sympathetic to was him talking about the other individuals
Starting point is 00:07:44 that he was trying to protect that this is their job. Totally. And by the way, I'm sure he's not lying about that. Like I said yesterday, he's like a CEO. This is an industry of him. He's got hundreds of people who are eating, off of this tour. Right. So it's not that simple to just be like, all right, I'll bag it. You know what I'm saying? I do sympathize with that. But he literally is just like, yeah,
Starting point is 00:08:04 I don't want to say things. I have personal feelings, but that doesn't mean I need to make the public. Yeah, that was, that was, bro. Because you've already, you've done the Ukraine thing. You've done. Brexit. Brexit. There's mad stuff you've spoken out about. Mm-hmm. That's the problem. You've spoken out about other things. So now people, again, it's just reinforcing the things everyone says. That's the really unfortunate part also, is you're just reinforcing why do people treat this issue separately? Like as a Jewish
Starting point is 00:08:32 person, I'm not comfortable that this issue has to be treated separately. These are all bad issues. But for generations, people have been scared to speak out because of the rent. Like if right now in 2026, okay, we're in 2026 and
Starting point is 00:08:50 McLemore and Ed Sheareran two white guys are dealing with ramifications like this for speaking out on behalf of oppressed people in Israel and the cameras are on and their social media and people can get right to it and everybody
Starting point is 00:09:12 can see what's happening. Imagine what was happening in 1986. Right. If people were like, no, this government, this is happening with these elites. imagine the level of silencing and erasure that was taking place for anybody that spoke out about this issue 30 years ago. Of course.
Starting point is 00:09:34 If this is happening in 2026 in broad daylight and they're not afraid to get rid of you. And listen, and even in 26, people that are not as rich and famous as Ed Shearin that have lost their jobs for speaking out. But that's why I pointed at Ed Shearron and Macklemore, right? because it's like, bro, you couldn't be whiter, you couldn't be richer, the spotlight couldn't be brighter, and they're still like, eh, get them out of here. I don't care what anybody has to say. Guys, yesterday afternoon I was at work,
Starting point is 00:10:06 in one moment of being silly, I just tweeted, I've officially withdrawn from the Ed Sheeran Tour. Because it was every 20 minutes someone was withdrawn. You can't help but tweet. So I wrote, I'm officially withdrawn. Yo, it has 5.7,000 retweets, and I have mad people just being like, wait, who are you? There people really thought us. They're like, wow, another person left the, someone's like, yo, are you a roadie?
Starting point is 00:10:37 Now, there's also 3,000-comments, so it's probably not all pleasant stuff in there. But yeah, man, this is, it's a weird thing because I know there are people I saw in the comments on our post yesterday. we talked about it in the clip in a very like calm empathetic sort of way i wasn't like ed shiren f you i do have empathy for him he's never appeared to have been a bad dude i know it's simple for people in comments to say genocide is simple pick aside like it's easy from your comment where you have nothing on the line to tell people how easy it is to shut down your entire business for a cause when most people commenting have never lost one red scent for a cause in their lives. But I can't villainize the man except say I'm disappointed.
Starting point is 00:11:27 You just, you should have went with your heart, and instead you went with probably advice from people who have a vested interest in the issue, who led you the wrong way. But it doesn't mean I don't sympathize with them at all. No, but also on the business side. That's why I keep bringing it up. You guys act like it's easy to walk away. and just say, hey, I'm not going to do this thing that I signed a contract, a legal binding contract
Starting point is 00:11:53 and say I would show up at these locations. No, no, and tons of people planned and worked on it for months and months. They don't just show up with a guitar and say, let's go. We've rehearsed. There's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's all types. There's so much stuff. Tickets have been sold, bro. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:12:10 You don't, he's on the hook. If he walks away, he, it's his fault. It's his fault. They can sue him. So I'm not saying he, because listen, what he said in his statement was really what botched this more than anything. You know what I'm saying? This is Ed Shearant's statement that we finally got up here. Yeah, it's not great.
Starting point is 00:12:36 I like them continuing to be nice to each other in the messages, though. Why do you think they're really at odds? I think when McLemore said in the first one, I hope me and Ed can still be friends after this. I hope our friendship can survive. I would, that might be the one button I have for Backelmore. I think that's going to be a tough hill to climb. Because, because, you guys know I'm, I'm, um, um, uh, I'm optimistic.
Starting point is 00:13:01 No, you're, no, you're out of your gourd. You're like, why can't we all be friends? Well, no, I just know that these situations, yeah, there are people, listen, for people who have been through, like myself, nothing out at this scale, but definitely dealt with people making mistakes on stage and causing concerts to go a ride. Sure. And having to figure out how to keep people employed, keep artists relationships, and move forward without, you know, everybody losing their livelihood.
Starting point is 00:13:37 I know how these situations can be. And if you have your head screwed on right and you understand how to support people when shit gets crazy, it's not the time. to go let's hate each other also hey listen Tyler the creator once got my um my south by southwest uh show canceled because he decided to that's where you went that was your first start he started a riot not not not not you not not you basically turning a million multi-million dollar operation upside down but but the constant have to get canceled though almost you know why i didn't get canceled because you're your incredible diligence and hard work
Starting point is 00:14:15 and good relationships with people that I wasn't going to get mad at. And not panicking. And not panicking. And taking the heat. And you know why I'm on social media today? Because of that? Because of that. I got on social media that day because little Wayne was going at the whole team and the whole station. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:14:36 And I had to defend the whole team and the whole station. You think this was a bigger event than when Tyler got my South by show? Yes. Shut up. I can't believe that you feel that way. No, you're right. And I bring that up. You're right.
Starting point is 00:14:50 Feelings are hurt at the time. And then everyone moves on. It's like, guys, things happen. Let's do business. But once again, but you have to have somebody's got a cool head. Like, yo, this is a bad situation. Everybody don't start cannibalizing each other and going at each other because we're trying to figure. This is one person.
Starting point is 00:15:05 You know, seven stadiums pulled out. I thought it was three. Seven. Seven threatened two. Wait, what do you mean because of McClamore? Yeah. Yeah. So also there's another part that's important to remember.
Starting point is 00:15:15 This is also bigger than Robert Kraft. There's also more villains here. If seven stadiums pulled out, that's not Robert Kraft. But they're saying he's the one that did the outreach. He called all of them to be like, hey. I get it, but everyone that made decisions. If we're going to be mad at Ed Shearin, you've got to be mad at each individual stadium owner too.
Starting point is 00:15:35 They all were just catering to them. That's like the fans being mad at people who own the teams. I know, why be mad at the actual people who are the ones doing it? Because it is the owners of the stadiums who are the ones doing this. Who agreed with Robert Kraft to do that. Yes. They're the ones who are like, oh, sure.
Starting point is 00:15:49 Yeah, yeah, you're right. We should do that. By the way, we do have a Kanye show, though. So don't worry about it. Their names aren't on the ticket, and nobody knows them. You know what I'm saying? And they're not. So people only hold the talent usually accountable.
Starting point is 00:16:03 And you realize the only person at this point who could have still fixed this situation would have been Robert Kraft and these owners? Yeah. He could have said, you know what? This whole thing's gotten out of control and good people are losing their jobs now because of it, I think I need to set a meeting with McLemore and we need to put him back on the tour and have a conversation. But he won't do that.
Starting point is 00:16:23 Of course not. Yes. Is Kanye play at Raven James Stadium in Tampa? Did he? He already did, I think. Yeah. They're on the list. Yeah, they're on the list.
Starting point is 00:16:31 No, no. So the Tampa Stadium where Kanye played was on the list to say, McLemore cannot. No. So how Hitler's a go free Palestine. Not going to perform it. Got it. you know
Starting point is 00:16:45 I want to perform Heil Hitler just did he changed his mind afterwards though yo the funniest part though so then that means there must have been a conversation that we're not hearing about where what maybe maybe there wasn't maybe there should have been
Starting point is 00:16:58 where after what was going on with McLemore and the whole coverage of what happened at MetLife Stadium someone went in and was like hey can you ask McLemore to not do that anymore so that we can do these other shows probably yeah
Starting point is 00:17:13 which maybe Matt in Maclewell I don't think so though I think they went right to he's off the tour I think I think Robert Kraft went right to no the guy who did that can't come on this tour I don't think he gave him a chance there wasn't a hey
Starting point is 00:17:29 wouldn't McElmore have said that in his statement wouldn't he have said they asked me to stop making the statement but I refuse to he might have actually thought I made it once it was super impactful let me go on the let me finish this tour we don't know
Starting point is 00:17:43 I don't think you would I don't know that he would have just walked away and let all this happen if they gave him the option of, hey, you didn't get it in once. It made huge news to get in line. I doubt it. I don't know. Well, it definitely got bigger than they wanted it to. We talked about that yesterday.
Starting point is 00:18:00 And at some point, billionaires and elites are going to stop thinking you could just bully the people. You know what I'm saying? Because that's really what this comes down to. There's all of everything we're seeing, whether it's a Trump administration, whether it's this incident with Ed Sheareran McElmore. It's a constantly trying to silence individuals, trying to change a narrative,
Starting point is 00:18:23 trying to distract individuals from focusing on issues like this. But by the way, this is the same tactic when you go back to Black Lives Matter and police brutality, when you go back to the ICE issues, when you go all of the things that you see these, you know, powerful elites, trying to drive home, hey, don't look over there, don't talk about that.
Starting point is 00:18:49 And the people who did talk about that, they're missing. They're canceled. They're in jail. Right? You go back through history. It's always been the same. But now I... I hope this is a precedent, by the way, that, like, for other issues.
Starting point is 00:19:04 I don't know if they've learned their lesson. They're going to keep trying it. Because, like I said, it's 2026. Everybody's got a camera in their hand, a computer in their hands. a computer in their hand. Things are happening. People are running straight to social media. And Robert's old and these owners maybe are completely out of touch as billionaires and rich
Starting point is 00:19:23 people definitely can be. And they just think they can manipulate the public and they know based on history that a lot of times people do forget. We're living in a different time with a different climate, with different things at stake. And you can do certain things, not other things. Like he can go hang out at the Jay-Z thing the other night and see people and other rich people are going to treat him fine. but what you did, you lost a lot of people.
Starting point is 00:19:45 Like, you can move around in your own circles. No, I'm saying, I'm saying as far as like Robert Kraft, there's nobody not going to a Patriots game? That's not happening. No, no, no, Patriots game, no. There's other concerts that are going to happen at Gillette Stadium and sell tickets. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:20:02 I get my point is, they don't really have to care. Okay, so he's not, Robert Kraft's not looking at comments. No. Yeah. He doesn't care that this is all over. the news. Matter of fact, he might like it. He might like it because it's showing his billionaire buddies. See, ha ha, got him in the
Starting point is 00:20:17 titsy. Don't try this again. Don't try this again. They think they got power. They don't give a fuck. He really may not be affected by this at all. Yeah. And that's why, that's what I think too. He's kind of like, oh well, the news cycle will end in a couple days and it'll be over with and we'll go back to this. That's what they count on it going away and us
Starting point is 00:20:33 moving on to the next outrage. You know what I'm saying? But that's what makes Israel different to the United States. Never forget, the United States can do horrible things forever and they're able to get away with it. Israel doesn't have that juice. But they're
Starting point is 00:20:49 going to think they do. Well, they're learning they don't. Only one country really, maybe a couple of them. We'll see. Have the juice. We'll see. Talk to me in 10. What? 10 years? 10 years. When the apology tour comes and the museums go up and the
Starting point is 00:21:05 new, we talked yesterday. They put in a new prime minister. People are going to think, oh, Netanyahu's gone. This is a new day. Trump is gone. It's a new day. The other Republicans aren't just aren't as bad. The pivots, the distancing.
Starting point is 00:21:18 All that's going to take place. Well, it depends, though. I think if there's not a market change, I don't think it's ever recovering. I think it's always going to have this. And I don't take any pleasure in that, but like it's going to have a weird connotation always. It's going to be, yeah, if they don't do something drastically different,
Starting point is 00:21:37 like somehow find a way to come up with a one-state solution with equal rights for all, If they do that, no, they will recover. Eventually they would recover and you'd look back on this horrible time. That's then now you're like most countries. But you continue to go on with this horrible injustice and people and and apartheid of people living two separate worlds. It's it's 2026, bro. Like you said, the cameras are on. You can't do it.
Starting point is 00:22:03 I mean, and to your point, America does a great job of lying about like you bring up apartheid two separate worlds. We have two separate justice systems in this world. in our country but it's covered up cleanly well because of hope and because of all you know
Starting point is 00:22:18 voting and all this other stuff but history would suggest that this you know the way this country's been run and the way we're looking at it right now it's kind of always been this way
Starting point is 00:22:28 where you have these really really rich elites dictating the way things are going to go but at least on paper they have cover for equality they can pretend on paper
Starting point is 00:22:40 look it's we equal rights for all. Yeah, they will. They don't even have that on paper there. They, they, it's, there is basically a separate rule book for two kinds of people. I mean, it's just, how could anyone,
Starting point is 00:22:51 that has no place anywhere. I know. It's horrible. In other news, Drizzie, Drake had a, premiered his short film, FOMO with, let me see,
Starting point is 00:23:04 there was sexy red was in it, Don Tolliver, his mother, stun of Sandy, Winnie Harlow, tons and things. tons of cameos. There was this one thing that I saw, because I saw a clip of it. It was long, and I saw it this morning, but complex covered it.
Starting point is 00:23:20 Drake, I guess in a new song, he said, pray for Gaza, which is interesting because he's never really said anything before. He has been on, he's signed a, oh yes, he did. He signed the letter, artists for Seasfire. Yes, I remember now. Yeah, he did send a letter. He has the line talking trash about Caled, which I wouldn't exactly call support for Gaza, but it clearly mocks Khalid for not supporting.
Starting point is 00:23:44 And 40's been very outspoken. And 40's very outspoken. I mean, listen, Drake. Now, some people may try to pick it apart for him not saying free Palestine and saying pray for Gaza. Like, people will try to pick that apart. Yeah. That's also that people will also try to run up in your face and demand you scream things
Starting point is 00:24:02 to be acceptable in their version of protest. In other news, Texas State Representative Vinton Jones is now apologizing for celebrating Chris Brown. Remember Jasmine? This is Venton Jones. So he was just up there with Jasmine Crimes. He was. He was.
Starting point is 00:24:17 But he got a lot of heat too. And he cleared the air with Don Lemon, basically saying, look, I'm sorry for triggering victims of domestic violence. That, he said that that's not what he intended to do. By the way, hit him with the Ed Sheeran button. We may have to rename the button. You didn't know that was going to, you. When they said, hey, you're going to go up on stage with Chris Brown.
Starting point is 00:24:37 You were just like, sweet. No one has a public official. officials like, hey, what are people saying these days about Chris Brown? Why does no one have smart people working for them? Well, some people are out. No one said, hey. There's a lot of people who are out of touch, bro. Oh, you'll be fine.
Starting point is 00:24:52 He's got hit records. No, they're like, he's on tour. People love Chris Brown. And they're right. There's also people. And also, the people who love Chris Brown are very loud. Yes. The other ones are quiet.
Starting point is 00:25:03 They're dormant until you try to do something nice for Chris Brown. And then they're like, hey, wait a second. So, but that's, this should be. And also, too, I would guess that most of the blowback that this senator got was on social media. Yes. Yes. Right? From people who make it their job to do the social media outrage stuff and go after people.
Starting point is 00:25:26 In the stadium, I saw the video. Didn't look like anyone was upset. It didn't look like anybody was upset. Yeah, but it was also in a stadium full of Chris Brown. Yeah, they were there for Chris. No, but that's what I'm saying. That would be weird if they then got upset about it. But a senator, but I don't know.
Starting point is 00:25:39 I just, I've run into so many people throughout my time that are so disconnected from the way we are able to absorb. Like, we spend our days absorbing both sides, trying to, trying to absorb content, seeing where people are at and reading things. They're just not doing that. Yeah, especially when it comes to entertainment. Yeah, that's the rundown.
Starting point is 00:25:59 Thank you, Laura Stavs. Intro is the outro. Laura got the rundown, turn that up. Screen's on glow when she pulled up. Headlines heavy, but we still cut up. Are you following the Kennedy Center fiasco or no? I'm not. What's going on?
Starting point is 00:26:16 I'm half in, half out. Well, so Trump put his name on it. Yeah, they said no. Then a court said you can't do that. So it took Trump's name down. Then they cut down the legendary willow trees that are out front. Like, they cut them down. Trump did.
Starting point is 00:26:33 Whoever, his administration ordered those. In the front of the Kennedy Center, if you ever been those beautiful trees. cut them down. Then Trump came out and was like, listen, if I'm not involved in the Kennedy Center, it's a financial disaster, which I think was just covering up for the fact
Starting point is 00:26:51 that you have been involved, and that's why it is a financial disaster because nobody wants to perform there. And so now they've had to shut it down. Well, he was going to put money into it, like the administration, the board had voted to put money into it. Into renovating, right?
Starting point is 00:27:06 Because his name is not going to go on there. They voted that, It's going to be a financial disaster. They can't fix the Kennedy Center. They're going to close it down. How sad. So now he says, yeah, now they're attempting to do the renovation so it's going to close down. But if they don't put his name back on it, then they're never going to finish.
Starting point is 00:27:22 Yo, he is literally the worst. He's an egomaniagra. Like, if you watch this, but like if anyone, if any objective rational human being were to see what he's doing, you'd be like, this is insane. This is the behavior of a two-year-old who makes decisions. But that's what this administration is. No, but this is like, there's no other way to see this, though. It's only a temperate. It's a tantrum.
Starting point is 00:27:46 No, but there are people seeing it as, and I don't know if these are real people or paid activists, outraged specialists on social media for MAGA. There are people seeing this and going, yeah, I mean, look, if they didn't want to put my name on it, I would, I mean, Trump has the, they'll say Trump has the right. Yeah. in their brains. Like, because they, once again, people see the job of the president
Starting point is 00:28:13 as some sort of end all, be all, you get to make all the decisions. They don't understand that it's a job managing a country. Like, it's not about, you're just a job. You just have the job for eight years, buddy. Your job is to manage things and help us move things forward and keep things maintained
Starting point is 00:28:35 and make business. decisions ultimately for the country it's a chief executive officer that is not how he sees this job no and but that's also not how met too many voters and people who voted for him see the job you do what did you guys think of my um the Mitch McConnell thriller dance that I sent him to I thought it was important you don't watch that I didn't see that damn this is good content right here this is AI for this Mitch McConnell video I'm like yo you Remember when the robots have us all like locked up and they come in and we're like getting hauled off to be murdered. I'm like, yo guys, y'all remember the Mitch McConnell thriller though?
Starting point is 00:29:31 That joint was pretty good. Dow Blaze. That shit was Da Blaze. Yeah, that is fun. I saw that video clip of somebody just trying to, hey Mitch, how you feeling? He's just like. I know. He's not frozen.
Starting point is 00:29:43 He's just frozen. The interesting thing for me was the permacrin on his face. Yeah. And I was like, okay, so if his brain ain't working enough to get. his speech going. How does he keep the grin and did that and like did that like, how did they do that? Damn, bro. All I can say is it's not great. Well, he didn't show up to work yesterday. Oh no. Oh no. Listen, the biggest story for me around the Mitch McConnell thing is how often he voted against sick leave and pregnancy leave and these other things that people that that, that bills that have come across his,
Starting point is 00:30:20 you know, across Senate floor to approve so people can have, you know, support when they need medical leave or, you know, pregnancy, et cetera, et cetera. And now he's not been at work for three months. And getting paid. And got paid. So he has paid sick leave.
Starting point is 00:30:39 Yeah, he's just hanging out. You watch any of the Cash Patel? I've sent the clip in earlier of Cory Booker and Cash Patel and Republican Chuck Grassley. You never got that in You could tell us You have a microphone
Starting point is 00:30:55 That might have came after the deadline I didn't get that one in But I got another one and I'll get chosen You have what the beastiality on The first one Yeah, this is wild What's happening bro? What about the beastiality?
Starting point is 00:31:10 Same thing Because the regs wrote it up in a fashion Before I arrived That addressed prostitution, beastiality and trafficking They were there before I got there Tell me what it's
Starting point is 00:31:20 said before. It automatically disqualified any individual who participated on either side of it. Obviously, we are never going to hire the criminal. The bestiality? The bestiality? Yes. So you disqualified the animal? Well, I don't think we have great canines, but we're not going to disqualify it. I understand. I'm trying to understand why you did this. Why would you even get into beastiality? We are not into beastiality. But a lot of these individuals, I know you're not. But I'm trying to say it.
Starting point is 00:31:55 You changed the qualifications and mentioned beastiality. If Joe, if Joe participated in beastiality, not as the animal, but as the human. Not as the animal, it's crazy. Don't you think he ought to be qualified, disqualified? If he voluntarily did it, sure, but if he was trafficked into it. How do you involuntarily do it? This didn't, this, these changes didn't start with you, didn't? somebody came to you and recommended.
Starting point is 00:32:23 Yeah. Yeah. And when you saw that episode of Black Mirror, that's what happened. And when you saw Beastiality. Right. Involuntary. I said this with respect. The person who recommended it,
Starting point is 00:32:33 why didn't you just say what planet did you parachute in from? Why do I want to leave? Well, that was my initial response. Why do I want to leave with my chin and get into Beastiality? That was my initial response. But they then explained to me and showed me cases in which people were forced. into it and had applied to the FBI. Cash, if you were trafficked,
Starting point is 00:32:56 and you did some shit with an animal, but it wasn't your fault. It's okay. So, look, it is funny, but also at the same time with Kat, and I don't like Cash Patel. I think he's unqualified for the job and just an idiot.
Starting point is 00:33:10 But what he's saying is, there were instances of people who applied to be in the FBI who had been trafficked and as humans and forced to have sex with animals. How many times could this happen? He said there were instances.
Starting point is 00:33:26 That's what the man said. Now, I've only, you know, obviously you, I saw every, I don't know of everybody, that Black Mirror episode where they kidnapped the politician and forced them to have sex with a pig on camera. That was the first episode. That was like the first episode of Black Mirror ever. Yeah, set it off. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:33:43 Right? And then you, you know, you've, you know, you've seen like those, what was back in the day, the faces of death VHS tapes where there would be like women forced to have sex with animals type stuff and people would film it. Yeah. So let's not act like that's not happening now here.
Starting point is 00:34:01 I guess you're right. But as far as being qualified to be in the FBI, I think people are making fun of Cash Patel because they don't feel like he's qualified to be in the FBI. And then obviously poking fun at the fact that maybe he got trafficked and had to have sex with an animal.
Starting point is 00:34:19 But there, you know, you guys, crazy shit's happening on it. It's, this is a time. And by the way, once again, it's 2026. There's cameras everywhere, social media everywhere. I'm sure crazy conversations have happened on C-SPAN or in these sessions where there, that we, throughout history, that weren't caught on tape. I'm sure. This also happened.
Starting point is 00:34:46 You know, there's Corey Booker and Cash Fettel. Her time's up. No, sir, my time is not up. You allowed Mike Lee to go two and a half minutes over, but yet a Democratic senator, you're going to cut off? At a previous meeting, I let you go three hearings over. As you have other people, I have one more line of questioning to give. No, he's...
Starting point is 00:35:05 So, Mr. that I'll make my concluding remark and you can do whatever you want, sir. My concluding remark is we don't have an FBI director. We have a lackey here. Okay. Who's using government... And frankly, he's not even a good lackey. He's an incompetent lackey. He's like an 18-year-old kid who wants to join a fraternity that he could never be a member of,
Starting point is 00:35:23 doing keg stands and chugging with friends. He's an embarrassment to the agency and wouldn't qualify even to be an FBI agent, sir. He won't answer questions for a committee. He insults Democrats here and you don't step in. He has a little book by his side that he literally is using to try to intimidate people in the same way he intimidates reporters. He is a disgrace, sir. And the fact that we are not asking him, in fact, demand.
Starting point is 00:35:47 demanding him to answer the most best basic oversight questions is a further testimony to what is bad is not just that we have a rogue FBI agent intimidating reporters. What's bad is that we have Republicans in the Senate that are enabling him to go without any objective oversight or transparency or accountability. How many times in White House? Why do you figure you're something special now we've had one. I'm not special. My time has now just. one Republican go over and we have one Democrat go over. My time has just now reached what Mike Lee did.
Starting point is 00:36:24 And we as a committee have done what you've done before, which is ask him to answer basic questions. He won't even do it in writing. This is a mockery and a sham. We have a rogue agent intimidating the press, violating people's First Amendment rights, and doing everything the president has. You don't show much respect for your chairman.
Starting point is 00:36:44 You've gone on now. I have utter respect. In fact, I have love for you. And this is why I know this is not who you are. We're going to go. You are not holding this witness in an objective way to answer the questions that are given to him by Democratic senators, yet he insults them time and time again. What he did to Senator Walsh should make this whole committee stand up and walk out and sanctioned this man for speaking to one of my colleagues the way he spoke to them. Even Senator Whitehouse, who was then sitting in, tried to control this witness who makes everything personal.
Starting point is 00:37:20 I have a right to ask questions about how he's spending money on his girlfriend. And yet he stonewalls me, but will run on Fox News and talk about any and all these issues. This is ridiculous. This is a sham. And what's bad is not the person sitting there who is a mockery to the office he holds. What is bad is the people that are enabling him to do this. so. You understand Mr. Director, why during the Kavanaugh hearings, I let people talk and talk because it takes longer to shut them up than it does to let them talk. Now, you go ahead and say
Starting point is 00:37:58 what you wanted to say. I don't have much to say. This guy called me a thug. It's kind of ironic. He's running for President of the United States. He just got his 22nd ad campaign. Next. Senator Graham. I think Senator Graham sucks. That wasn't the mic drop you thought it was. No, that wasn't even dope, bro. That wasn't. What? You don't know what ironic means.
Starting point is 00:38:22 It's not ironic. Well, I thought it was interesting to see Corey Booker grow off. I'm glad. Even though, you know, we've kind of lost our faith in Cory Booker, Hakeem Jeffries and a number of people up there. And having a backbone. But yeah, I'm happy. No, he has his moments.
Starting point is 00:38:36 Corey has his moments where you're like, I like Corey. And then he has other moments. You know, very Democrat in that way. Very Democrat in that way. Yo, shout to Zippix, man. Zippix pulled up on the ELR show. Talk to us. If you're a part of the EL Army,
Starting point is 00:38:50 get some Zippix toothpicks for a loved one who has that nicotine addiction. It gives you clean, convenient, surprisingly satisfying way to curb your nicotine cravings without smoke, without vapor, without the long list of synthetic ingredients. You find in most modern nicotine products. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:39:08 So give your lungs a break, man. Get those nicotine. And also you can do the B-12 ones too. Oh, really? Yeah. have B12 toothpicks, too, so they, you have options. And six different delicious flavors. You could either get the two milligram or three milligram for nicotine,
Starting point is 00:39:22 depending on the level of addiction. You know what I'm saying? Like, how much nicotine do you need to satisfy that, uh, that urge at first? Do you, um, you, you add a smoking segment in your life? And some would say it's a, um, a very long term one. Yes. How is it, but no, but it's never, I never, I never had like a, I've never been, No, I've never, I've never, I never was a true, true hardcore, oh my gosh.
Starting point is 00:39:44 I had one moment, maybe one moment when times were not great when I, but that was actually the vape era. And that's why this is so important because, you know, the days of bumming a cigarette were one thing. The problem is then it became, oh, let me try your vape. And before you know what, you're like, let me just buy a vape. And those vapes are giving you so much nicotine. Yes, people don't realize that.
Starting point is 00:40:06 That all of a sudden you're hooked. So you could have been someone who spent 20 years bumming a cigarette here or there. And you were fine. Like a lot of people did that. But with the vape, you get hooked because the amount of nicotine is so high. Yeah. That you take a few hits from it. And you're like, ooh, I need to.
Starting point is 00:40:23 And people like the satisfaction of just doing it all day. I'm like, do you smoke a cigarette all day? I know. Why are you laying in bed the second you wake up? It becomes like your phone. Yeah. So this is why it's more critical than ever to have things like, Zippix toothpicks that you could take here to get off of the nicotine because it is a thing.
Starting point is 00:40:43 EL Army, do your thing. Go to Zippix toothpicks.com. Must be 21 or older to order. Warning here, nicotine is an addictive chemical. Zipmore smoke less with Zippix nicotine toothpicks. Speaking of kicking a habit, I have to say I am very proud at this moment. Of? I don't want to say too loud because I don't know if she's watching the show.
Starting point is 00:41:03 Okay. But yesterday was Maya's first day with. without a P-A-C-I. Okay. We went rogue. We just went cold turkey. That's good. Natalie had made it like a few hours,
Starting point is 00:41:17 and she was like, hey, I'm just to keep going. And I was like, all right, let's see how this goes. Yo, she slept through the night last night. She did not. Now, I think on the low, I think it helps that she's a bit sick and she's very stuffed up. So I think subconsciously she's like, I don't even want the passie because I can't breathe with it in my mouth.
Starting point is 00:41:35 Right. That might be the break. Right there. But we, so she went 24 hours. And when she comes back for it, just be like, we don't have it, throw them out. Yeah, they're gone. What do you mean? We don't have that anymore.
Starting point is 00:41:45 That's not what we do. Stay strong. We moved off that. You want some water? But water's great. A little bottle, a little bottle with some water. Yeah, just distract her. And then after a while, it's gone.
Starting point is 00:41:54 Yeah. It'd be good. I think that's a solid move. Yeah, no, it's time. You got to make the move at some point. Anybody checking the Super Chat this morning? What's going on? Oh, super chat.
Starting point is 00:42:02 We got it. We got a shout it out before 849, Ebro. and we should shout out that we have a tremendous, tremendous Patreon dropping today. Okay. What's on it? We have Corrupt and Daz. How long is that episode there, Baskam or Louie? Hour 20?
Starting point is 00:42:20 Hour 20 with Corrupt and Daz. All right. If you like some classic hip-hop stories. It's just hanging out. It's just a hang out with them telling stories and kicking it. We got into some death row, some. some Tupac, their relationship,
Starting point is 00:42:38 the new project that Corrupt has with Raqim, Masterkiller, and who else was on that joint? Das is on there. No, it's corrupt,
Starting point is 00:42:45 Master Killa and Raq Kim is the group. Is the group? Lots of features, though. Yeah, yeah, yeah, okay. But also, I don't know if you guys caught, there were a couple
Starting point is 00:42:52 of interesting moments early in that Tupac conversation. Which was? We'll see if people pick it up, but like, there was very respectful, obviously, but there was definitely early on corrupting Das being like,
Starting point is 00:43:04 Pox need to speak out and get into it with everybody was stressful for them. Right, yeah, because you guys will see it in the combo. They were absolutely like, we had already been through, ish. Because I asked him, I said, there's that, you know that clip that was moving around last week of Snoop sitting next to Tupac? And Tupac's like, but we'll bring the drama
Starting point is 00:43:27 to anybody who brings the drama. And Snoop's like, yeah, cuz. Like he's just sitting there in his suit like, yeah, yeah. I was like, was it ever like hard? You know, because Snoop didn't seem like he was that into it. And corrupt was at first definitely like, yeah, man, like it was kind of awkward in ways because Pac wanted all the smoke. And we, yeah, we'd already had just watch it.
Starting point is 00:43:51 You'll see his energy, though, is interesting. Interesting, too, because if you follow, you know, once again, we lost Tupac when he was 25, right? And I think everybody on the show loves Tupac thinks he's an icon, loved what he talked about, his music. And loved what, you know, his mom and, and the black nationals were all that stuff. But remember,
Starting point is 00:44:10 Pock went to a nice high school and was mostly not like a street dude like that. Just opposed to someone like maybe Snoop who grew up in, you know, a Crip neighborhood, Dazz and corrupt, you know, how they, right, how they kind of came up in neighborhoods where there was always conflict. And so now you're making some,
Starting point is 00:44:36 some money. And you mean to tell me you want more conflict? Yeah. Like we got to keep having problems. I thought we was doing this so we didn't have that. I thought that's why. Yeah. And well and not only that, the probably aren't even the street problems. These are in the industry. And it's like why are we? We already, we're already dodging old relationships that we have to avoid and we just got all kinds of stuff to avoid. And Pock was as they as they talk about the interview, he just got out of jail and he's got. He was angry. And he's angry. And he's angry. And he's angry at a lot of people and like ready and they were just kind of like because that's the energy snoop gives gives in that interview is just like mm-hmm go ahead Luke well I was gonna say it don't forget
Starting point is 00:45:13 Snoop is just coming off the trial right and all that madness too oh yeah he just went oh he's like I'm just put through the ringer get out the way yeah I can't I can't be sounding like I'm threatening people or I have pro like now it's very interesting though but yeah today patreon oh and and it's a double whammy this week because because then on Friday we're gonna have Rhapsody yeah hang out for family Friday yeah so it's a good Patreon week two very long full episodes with guests hanging out is pretty dope.
Starting point is 00:45:41 Oh, you guys ready for the... Super Chat, you asked them. Yeah, Super Chat. And then we got to go guru. That was where this started. Super Chat. Bonnie said, oh my God, where's the sound?
Starting point is 00:45:52 It's 807. She was upset. Sorry, Bonnie. Eric said... But Rahsaan, you did a great job today. Rassan was ready to go today. And we was in here BSing. Yeah, it was us this time.
Starting point is 00:46:05 And Akeem Broderick. mentioned it's the power of old white billionaires y'all true true true i do want to get to a point with the whole uh israel conversation where we stop looking at what's happening with rich jewish people and billionaires as it happening because they're jewish no it's happening because they're billionaires and elites right same thing it happened like people can separate it's interesting people can separate the kKK from Christianity completely and they have crosses they have their whole thing is built around burning crosses yes and you're right no one's like yo but are you Christian right that's a great take bro great you know what
Starting point is 00:46:53 good for you that honestly it's true no one brings that up nobody brings that like every but you're now asking people to walk and chew gum at the same time like wait I can say I don't like Israel but I don't have to say something insulting to Jews. Like, yeah, you don't. You don't at all. Bro, my comments, thanks to my stupid tweet about saying I'm leaving the tour, if you want to see, like, scary anti-Semitism, bro, these comments, I'm talking about using German Udn, Udn rat.
Starting point is 00:47:25 What is that? Udn is, you know, that's what Nazis call Jews. It's German for Jew. Udn, J-U-D-E-N, hashtag Ud-N-Rat. rat. You will see the war. I don't even understand what side they're on. I'm like, I don't even know. If it makes you feel any better.
Starting point is 00:47:43 On Twitter, if you just want to sometimes, let me see, let me see how the other oppressed groups deal are getting, when you go through certain posts like the Nolan Wells posts about people just remembering Nolan Wells and just for Nolan Wells. Just sick. Monkey. You know, like putting up pictures of KKK. burning crosses. Everything.
Starting point is 00:48:06 We should have sent you back. And the end word with the hard arts. I mean, that's light work. That's like, I was actually talking about like, you know, you know,
Starting point is 00:48:15 things that are just like you really worked, like going Uden, rat, you worked hard to do that. You know what I'm saying? Yeah, well, you're into this. Like you're, you're equipped and ready with like the worst types of hate
Starting point is 00:48:29 that you can find. But anyway, once again, that's also Twitter, where you can look at a positive video of puppies and the next video I get is people fighting in the street. It's the worst bro. It is the absolute
Starting point is 00:48:40 And by the way, the only time I go to Twitter now is when y'all send a link. It's pretty much the only thing. Same. That's what I get at you like, you're in a cesspool, bro. I know. It's not on my phone. Listen, step one is I don't go on my phone at all. Haven't reinstalled it at all. I'm down two hours a day. Overall
Starting point is 00:48:56 my phone use. At some point you got to accept that you like it a little bit. I think that may help. No, I'm addicted to it. No, no, no, you like the mix-up. You like seeing what people have to say. No, no, I like the validation hit of seeing my name pop up and at replies and being in conversation. That's what I, I think it's a visceral reaction. So let me ask you, let me ask you. If it was all positive all the time and it was just, just love, love, love. Who would that be? Who would I have to be on Twitter to get that? I don't know who that person.
Starting point is 00:49:24 But whoever, somebody, whoever is just all positive, all love. Right. Would you be running to see what people are saying if it was all positive, all love all the time? Or would you be like, I don't need to bother go see that? Everyone just loves me. I know. But I want to see who calls me a UdN. Some people are addicted to that validation of, like, being uplifted and liked and loved. But to I'm asking him. Yeah, but if it was constant and that's all I got, it wouldn't hit.
Starting point is 00:49:49 You wouldn't get a hit anymore. So that, and that's what I'm saying. At some point, I think you like, like, like, not that you like. It's not like, though. I'm only pushing another word like. Okay, like is a bad word. You are drawn to. Tron to.
Starting point is 00:50:01 Fine. It's exciting. Will you accept that it's exciting? I guess on some level that must be what it is. You're like, like when I opened up the thing and I saw my dumb tweet had 5.7,000 retweet. You laughed. Something was like, oh, look at that. Good work.
Starting point is 00:50:18 Now let me see what the comments are. Oh, my God. This is horrifying. And then on the other side, like my post a couple days ago moved around when I said the Kanye thing. I'm like, damn, Kanye could still tour for Heil Hitler. And I also get mad on the other side that some people just comment, yo, he a I apologize. For some reason, it just makes me laugh that there are people who think you could go to a studio. Make a song with producers called Heil Hitler where you rap the choruses, some, my end word, Hile Hitler, over and over again.
Starting point is 00:50:50 And then when people get upset, go, yo, my bad, I'm sorry. And I should be like, done. Thank you. Next? Like, when is that ever a thing? That you could do something that egregious. And it's just like, I'm sorry. What do you all want from me? I accidentally fell into the studio. I wasn't here during the Kid Cuddy tweet thing. But you know, I was hanging out with Kid Cuddy last week. When it was happening?
Starting point is 00:51:13 After. After? And you didn't bring it up? Well, we talked about Kanye. We didn't talk about you, though. That's crazy. We sat next to each other at a dinner. Like literally he's sitting right here.
Starting point is 00:51:23 He didn't say anything. He didn't bring it up. He didn't bring it up. But he may not even know. Cuddy is so, his version of being. on the internet as such, he could not even realize we're still doing a show together. But I definitely was like, yo, you know, how's this, you know, going out in Chicago with Kanye going? He was like, man, it's tough. Like, it's tough. He was like, you know, that's my brother.
Starting point is 00:51:47 I want to love him. And I was like, I think that's the complicated thing about this whole thing, is there are people showing up because they want to support a guy that's claiming he's on a path to improvement. He's also going home to his city where it's like, the backdrop of all of this great hip hop we love and people want to be there for that and see that moment and that's people people on the outside are interpreting that as forgiveness and he was like bro and i didn't know this about cuddie and i guess it's public information because i asked some people and they were like yeah he's got a brother who like his brother brother who suffers from like schizophrenia and is like a drug addict and i was like oh so you kind of understand how crazy
Starting point is 00:52:32 crazy can get and then hope for a loved one to like come back at some point. And I was like, I don't think, I was like, I can't relate to that. I don't have a family member that I would forgive just because they went off the, you know what I'm saying? Yeah, but you're not family. Who's not? But you're not family. That's why, because you don't have a family member. You're not family.
Starting point is 00:52:54 And like Cuddy said to Rosenberg, you're not family. Oh, that was in the tweet. Over and over. Oh, God. And by the way, all of those things, and I'm not mad at Cuddy. But all he had to do... I think that was the root of him. Maybe that's why he said that.
Starting point is 00:53:05 It probably was. But the only thing that he misstepped in is like... First of all, I wasn't talking about, Cuddy. So I under... He took it. He obviously does feel away about it because he interpreters about him. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:53:17 And I get it. I didn't direct it to one person, as Rob Markman pointed out. So it's open for anyone to take it. He obviously took it as about him. And instead, I think the right route would have been like... And he tried to do this. He just also kind of...
Starting point is 00:53:30 of like took a shot at me to just be like yo bro i understand how you feel and you have that exact right i'm trying my best to love someone i consider a brother that's all you would have to say instead he made it more like but you don't get it because you're not family i'm like no i'm not i'm just a jewish guy i didn't love him making a song called hale hitler that's that's all i am i'm just a guy who spent thousands of dollars on him over the course of my life and yeah but you're just a fan i'm also sad but i'm not i'm not family but i understand where he's coming from but and also too um He is family. He is family.
Starting point is 00:54:03 Billy Iles' family. Billy I was family. I wanted to bring him up because he was there also. I saw him last week. Oh my God. What dinner is this? Is the Illamani meeting? No, it's that at work.
Starting point is 00:54:12 It was Apple. Apple had an event in Cupertino and they invited a bunch of people out. Like I saw a bunch of people. Oh, this is right before or after the big announcement. This was the big announcement day and the day after. So like I show speeds at Apple Park and like Kutty. So I met I Show Speed and I saw Phineas.
Starting point is 00:54:29 And who else was there? A bunch of people. But at any rate, Phineas has been about this. He's a solid dude. Yeah, yeah. Like, this ain't the first time. Like, when they tried to play, remember the whole thing with Billy Elish?
Starting point is 00:54:46 Where somebody, like, ran down on her house or something? Remember that whole story? There was like a Maga dude that ran down on her... I don't remember that. There was a whole thing with somebody tried to docks Billy Eilish. Okay. Like, Phineas is with the shits, bro. If there's a problem
Starting point is 00:55:01 he'll solve it. No, no, no, with the shits. Why did this come up? No, no, no. I just yesterday saw that he was quick to be like yeah, nah, I was, I'm a... Because he's, I think, one of the first who volunteered to be like, yeah, no, I can't do these Ed Shearing dates. Yeah, yeah, he was,
Starting point is 00:55:17 he was. Him and the other, and the other Irish dude. Aaron Roe. Yeah. He's Aaron Roe's Irish or the band is Irish. I thought Aaron Roe, I don't know, but Aaron Rose is who I saw first. Got it. I saw Finney's first. This is all before I This is all before I left the tour. It was too much for me, honestly.
Starting point is 00:55:34 Y'all ready for the guru? Let's go. For the gurus, Rosenberg. All right, you know you are a beautiful queen. Ebro, don't ever play yourself. You're not a guru. Breathe out.
Starting point is 00:55:46 The original gurus at gmail.com. The original gurus at gmail.com. That's where you email us, your destination for clarity. Well, this is appropriate. Send your emails, by the way, the original gurus at gmail.com, the original gurus at gmail.com.
Starting point is 00:56:06 Um, yeah, this is interesting because it's about a band situation. One of my good friends slash bandmate and I have been together for years through thick and thin. Okay. He doesn't always have a stable job or a working car. So most of the time I've picked him up, dropped him off every time we hang or practice or have a show for years. oftentimes, you know, as well at local shows or the bar, he'll ask me to spot him a drink, a drink ticket or whatever. 90% of the time he doesn't pay me back, which I don't really trip about because I'm in a good financial situation myself. He has a common tendency to be forgetful, including losing his keys, wallet, phone, at shows or bars, taking 15 plus minutes to come outside when I pick him up.
Starting point is 00:56:49 Adding on to this, he lives completely out of the way of our practice spot for my place. so what is normally a 25 minute round trip for me to practice turns into closer 40 minutes each way to accommodate my friend recently he overslept when I was outside to get him and he never came out
Starting point is 00:57:05 not the first time and claims his phone was dead even though it rang all the way the three times I called he messaged me later in the night after practice saying my bad I was asleep I let him know that I feel like this happens a lot and I'd prefer if he started getting his own ride to practice
Starting point is 00:57:21 he has roommates with a car and he basically flipped out he flipped it on me saying I'm being disrespectful of a situation and coming at him after taking a little more talking a little more he says he's always had another ride he could get
Starting point is 00:57:35 and I should be a grown man and speak my mind literally what I just did LOL and is telling me I'm trying to be controlling of him he sees zero issues in what I'm saying to him saying he told me years ago we could get a ride if he needed apparently he told me this literally over two years ago and has never mentioned it again to me
Starting point is 00:57:51 or my other bandmates, which they could attest to. It's been a burden on me for a while, and the way he's reacting is getting me to a point where I'm kind of over, not just the band, but my friendship with him. What do you think, gurus? Appreciate you guys every morning at my desk job.
Starting point is 00:58:08 Thanks. I just want to say, I just want you to feel seen because these situations, I think everybody has had a friend or a loved one in their life at some point, who you love dearly, but they are making it.
Starting point is 00:58:21 impossible for you. And your attempt to help them is being like you're getting practically a middle finger in just attempting to help. So I just want to say we feel your pain dog. But I think this is kind of like he's giving you the opportunity. He's saying he has a ride and you should have manned up. You now have an opportunity to, I would still say it very formally though. I would say, hey, I've thought about what you've said. I've been getting increasingly frustrated with how things have been. I love you. I want you to be in the band.
Starting point is 00:58:55 I want us to be friends. But I'm starting to build resentment for how you've been handling things. And I'm going to take you up on that. I think you should find your own ride to practice because I'm sort of at my wits end with it. Love you. I care for you. I get you don't see it from my standpoint,
Starting point is 00:59:11 but it's driving me crazy. I need you to figure things out on your own. As simple as that. Sounds good. I agree. That's what he can do. And he's going to get mad. And he'll be mad at first
Starting point is 00:59:18 and then he'll get over it. And maybe you'll see some sort of movement, but you're enabling him. You're giving him money when he needs it. You're waiting outside while he's asleep. No, bro. I cannot. No. I think you did what
Starting point is 00:59:32 you could. And now it's time. Yeah, it's like a group of dudes what it sounds like. Some bros. Some bros? Yeah. I don't know. I just feel like I don't know. I do think you should talk to him, just like Rosenberg said. You should have a conversation. Don't just stop showing up. The only reason I ask is because in my situations with the
Starting point is 00:59:50 people would you consider them friends or bandmates? They sound like friends. I mean, how could they not be? I don't know. They're playing a little band together where they're just playing at bars and stuff. He said they're friends. Okay. You know, it's not Motley crew.
Starting point is 01:00:03 Like, are you that? They're not fighting through for the money. In a situation like, the only reason I'm like questioning, we can wrap this up was in a situation like this where this doesn't seem, is this particularly heavy? Is this a heavy thing? Do you think this is heavy? Heavy. Like where it needs care.
Starting point is 01:00:18 Instead of being like, bro, you're bugging. I've been supporting you. I've been doing X, Y, and Z. You're taking advantage of me. I don't like it. The only reason I'm adding a little bit of hair and extra care is the description he's giving
Starting point is 01:00:32 of this guy in general is someone who's got other stuff going on. He's depressed. He's this guy between the forgetting stuff all the time and being late and always like everything is a disaster. I think that's a worrisome person you've got to be a little bit mindful of.
Starting point is 01:00:49 He's got roommates. You're at your desk job working hard. You got money in your pocket. He doesn't have. So you see what I'm saying? I think he's in a spot where he could be on the line of things don't go good for him.
Starting point is 01:00:58 And that's your way of showing compassion. While also drawing a boundary. Yeah. I'm not going to just keep, yeah, cool. Because you're just showing up now to wait outside his house while he says my phone is dead as you're hearing it ring eight times.
Starting point is 01:01:11 That would send me. Yeah, maybe he's doing some drugs. You think he's going to be off here? Who knows? But that's why he has to stop giving him money, lending of money and stop with the enabling and then send them love from afar
Starting point is 01:01:24 and say I'm here if you need to talk but other than that or for a jam session Yo, the enabling that happens out here it's crazy. A lot. That's a lot. So hopefully you guys can get through this but talk to him in the Rosenberg way.
Starting point is 01:01:37 So say the gurus. Let me know if that works and then right back. Yeah, because there's people going through stuff out here. I got a few friends going through some serious life change of things, man.
Starting point is 01:01:51 stuff is happening. And I've listened, like, I've listened and listen and listen. And I'm like, you got to make some decisions. You got to like, put the, it's, it's, it's, it's, teaching people how to put emotions aside and just be logical and execute. No, it's not easy. It's not easy, man. Well, you're, you're sort of naturally adept to that. It's kind of your way. I think I was, because it's raised in an environment where you had to do it. Yeah, you had to, because it was so much chaos. You had to work more to find being the emotional part. Exactly.
Starting point is 01:02:22 Rather than working to find that. Exactly. I'm still working on the emotional. Yeah. Listen, all of it's hard. None of it's easy. But I have a few friends who lost parents in the last couple of weeks. It's just like a lot of life stuff out here, life for people.
Starting point is 01:02:35 It's really, uh, it's a lot. Trying to be just, you know, have gratitude. Well, remember my, um, theory that between right now, they will call it October and like the end of February. days are getting shorter it's getting colder you got all of these holidays stacked together which require money which require you seeing people that you're not quite
Starting point is 01:03:02 clean with so it's a lot of emotions pain and then layer on top of that we got a shit show of a country right now so it's going to be an emotional several months ahead so I'm probably going to say this more than just today, but buckle up. Might want to put a helmet on.
Starting point is 01:03:28 Buckle of an helmet? And a helmet. Dang. It's that tab. Time. See you on tomorrow, guys. The big NFL joint. Put that joint on.
Starting point is 01:03:37 Peace.
