Just don't call in a podcast.
The Ebro-Lara Rosenberg Show.
Yeah, man, sorry with tardy a little bit again.
No, it's me.
You don't have to be sorry for my tardiness.
I mean, you know, we're a team, Rosenberg.
Thank you, thank you.
Today is one of those mornings, guys.
Fresh off the New Year, the Shana Tova and all that.
It's 5787 on that Hebrew calendar.
I would never know that.
Ebro is the only person who ever tells me of the Hebrew years.
Yo, but so for lunar, for lunar and for the lunar New Year and for the Hebrew, you know, Rosh Hashanah and all that.
I'm amazed that more people don't pay attention to the fact that we all run around and say it here.
We showed this the other day.
2026.
And I'm like, yeah, but there's other calendars on the planet have different dates.
And nobody, it's like everybody just accepts the.
Isn't that sort of like how I felt when I went to Italy this year, though?
True.
And you were like, oh.
I was walking around like, wait, this is how they're doing it over here?
Right.
We're babies.
We don't even do anything.
We can't wipe our ass as a country.
We know nothing.
Please.
Architecture is trash.
Trash.
Everything here is beautiful.
And then they got the Michelin Star Restaurant in the old, like, everything.
And they know how to live life better.
Oh, they're happier.
They're walking more.
Yeah.
Oh, they don't enjoy.
their animals with things.
You can actually eat bread
and not put on 20 pounds
just because you have a slice of bread.
Isn't that crazy?
Or pasta.
It's pretty nice.
Everyone out there has this experience
these days of they go on a trip to Europe.
Well, stop, start again.
Everyone, who's everyone?
Everybody I've talked to
who has able to take a trip to Europe.
And has a passport.
It has a passport.
It's only like 30% of the U.S. population,
but keep going.
And has the means to do this.
The time, the money, all those things.
They're always worried they're going to gain weight because it's vacation or whatever.
And then they're like, yo, I ate the whole trip and I came back and I was down two pounds or it's crazy.
It is wild.
They're poisoning us guys every day.
Wait, what do you do for Roche?
Like, what do you guys do?
Well, this was Young.
This was the Yom.
This was the Yom, excuse me.
This was the chest pound.
The beat box.
I didn't, I didn't, I did not pound my chest.
I, you know, don't have a synagogue.
Okay.
We shut everything down.
I did not go on my phone at all.
Okay.
No TV?
No nothing.
No, we did TV.
We eventually caved
and at like four
when we wanted to get some stuff done
start preparing food, cleaning up a little bit
we were like, let's
throw on Pocahontas and give ourselves
a little reprieve.
What we've been avoiding these days is her getting
anything early in the day
because we find that when we set the tone
with that early in the day, it's a crazier day.
Many you turn on a show or something
and amps her up for the day.
Like, yeah, like,
And like the B word, I mean, I can barely even say,
Bluey out loud anymore.
Booy, buoy, buoy, buoy.
But we now have some booey books, which is good.
So now we can read the booey books.
Although I'm pretty sure one of them is AI slop,
but that's for another day.
Yeah, everyone's kind of.
But it's a book.
But it just doesn't make sense.
I'm like, I know there's some Australian slang in here,
but this doesn't even.
Oh my God.
All right.
Anyway, so we really didn't do much.
We just shut down.
We took her to the Children's Museum
and like let her do her thing.
and then Natalie and I talked about some things throughout this year
and what we'd like to be better next year and things like that.
But we weren't in synagogue.
We just disconnected the whole day.
And then we broke.
Natalie cooked.
We had a little, actually I kind of botched the barrakees.
But whatever.
We had our little dinner and that was it.
You know?
I didn't repent the right way.
I didn't do the chest pounding though.
It was missed.
What is the chest pounding?
This is for like...
When you're repenting, that's like part of the thing.
Oh, okay.
I didn't really do that this year.
Although, listen, I got to tell you,
I didn't have a lot to pound my chest for this year.
The years where I was pounding my chest the most,
guess what I went around and did?
The exact same bullshit the next year.
So this is kind of good.
You know, I'm not saying I didn't have things worthy of repenting for.
But not the big.
With all the faiths, right?
With all the faiths.
Yeah.
No matter what your faith is.
Where everybody waits until a specific day to apologize.
Right.
It's too late to apologize?
It's like, really.
bro, you could have not done the thing.
Or when you did the thing, not did it again.
What do you think is worse, though?
It's kind of like a New Year's resolution.
If you weren't going to start that.
You waited all the way.
You waited all the way until Pope Gregory's calendar.
You didn't even do it on the Lunar New Year.
There's mad calendars that start.
You could have started your New Year.
New Year.
No one's going to miss on that delicious food.
What's worse, though?
The one day a year?
Or you go do dirt on Saturday and then just go hit the apology button on Sunday.
Oh, yeah.
Sunday.
Like, let me go see this.
Go to the confession booth.
She did it on my wife last night, Priest.
Yeah, do this, do that.
You're good.
All right, cool.
See you next week.
There's so many versions of hypocrisy.
We all, we do it so many ways, man.
But listen, man, people are doing their best.
You know what I'm saying?
Some people are.
Look, everybody's trying.
I hope.
And some people haven't started trying, but you will get to a certain age where you look back on your transgressions, I think, and you'll have regrets.
Some people's not to their deathbed.
Right.
Like, that whole, like, sitting here about to die and apologizing joint, I'm not really sympathetic to that.
You mean like the lady with Emmett Till?
Yeah, I'm not sympathetic.
Yeah, you lived your whole life doing it, though.
So what is the most selfish thing you could do?
Your entire life, you knew.
You lied on Emmett Till.
You ruined people's lives.
You destroyed them.
Uh-huh.
And by the way, and then you even closed out the most selfish you could.
So you screwed everybody, but you're like, I want to cover my ass on my way out the door.
Uh-huh.
I want to make it up there.
Nah, boy.
Might as well have kept it to yourself at that point.
The biggest.
F*** got it here.
Terrible.
I missed your guy's conversation on Ed Sheeran.
I'm sure you all said he nailed it.
No.
Water under the bridge.
Time to move on, right?
Sure.
Look, no.
I don't know what did we say.
No.
I assume you said it was frigid.
and felt like nothing.
I don't know what, I don't even remember what we said,
but it didn't feel like I was that passionate about it.
I was like, poor Ed.
He read off the teleprompter.
He read off the teleprompter.
I did point out that he got some backup band people
that they never dropped the names of.
I did say that yesterday.
Well, that at least there was a band.
Well, no, that the band, he was like,
yo, these people are brave enough
to come up here and stand next to me.
I'm not going to say who they are.
But he never said their names.
No, shout out.
Because you know the internet we're looking for him.
Oh, why they, is that another though?
Why'd you even bother?
Did he have to say anything?
I guess.
The people came to your show, they obviously don't care.
Right.
So you might, should you just write?
Because you don't have a strong statement to make.
So you might as well just keep it moving.
Well, and I know we brought up the Beatles story, right?
About, you know, in the, I think it was 1963 or 64.
The Beatles were playing in a segregated venue they found out.
and they refused to play.
Okay.
And the venue back down
and the Beatles in their tour writer forever
would never play segregated venues.
What do you mean the venue back down?
They said, we'll change to being an integrated venue.
Yes.
They integrated the venue.
Of course, that's the way the history is reported.
They were like, nah, you want us to play, you integrate.
That's right.
Cool.
Well, they had black people sitting in one section.
Oh, God, they were there.
They were there, but black people could only sit in the top.
Just segregated.
It was a segregated venue.
Segregated venue.
Sorry.
Okay.
And so then, you know, I guess people could see wherever they wanted.
If you wanted the Beatles to play, they were not playing in that scenario.
And every opening act, according to history, was a black artist on these tours with the Beatles in the early 60s.
So we talked about that.
I talked about that story yesterday.
And also, you know, the Green Day story.
I don't.
The Green Day story was they were.
They were getting big and they had an opening act.
What was the name of the act again?
For who?
For opening act for Green Day.
Google it.
And they had an act that was an openly gay punk band.
And venues said no, Green Day you can't play.
And Green Day was like, F y'all.
What was it?
Pansy Division.
Pansy Division.
Strong name for a gay punk rock group.
And Green Day was like, well, if Pansy Division can't open, we ain't playing.
all the venues back down and Pansy Division did all the shows.
And that was, and according to history, that was a big moment in LGBTQ, like openly gay.
He said D.
Yeah.
He's, you threw a dick in there.
What did I say?
LGBT.
TQ.
LGBTIQ rights and like openly gay musicians.
So you're saying there's kind of a precedent.
There's a precedent.
The artist wins.
Yes.
So, and I, once again, I don't know the, I don't know the business scenario that Ed is in.
Clearly people are afraid, though.
I think that's a big headline here.
Or I think it's also who is in, who is Ed's team?
Who was he listening to in this moment where he felt the only play was what his play was?
I still feel the biggest mistake he said
was saying he's apolitical.
Yes.
If he was like, hey, guys, I'm in a tough spot, man.
I brought McLemore on this show
and I knew what McLemore stood for
because we know that to be true.
McLemore...
That's all his brand has been
for the last couple of years.
To have him in 2026 is to be bringing that.
And by the way, he made a song called
like Heinz Hall.
Yeah, yeah, that's what I'm saying.
Two years ago.
That's what I'm saying.
That's what his brand has been post-2023.
He knew that.
For sure.
So now the heat comes down, the pinch is on, the squeeze is on.
Ed could have said, listen, McLemore is my man, and I have a tough decision to make because
I can't back out of these shows for the fans or my staff or my team.
And I'm in a tough spot.
He could have kind of, and so the shows are going to continue because I'm contractually
obligated and whatever.
He might have got fried, but the whole apolitical thing of acting like I don't say anything,
that made it worse.
Yeah.
It would have been bad.
I'm not saying it would have been good.
I'm just saying that made it worse.
And then he said the listening and learning thing was sending people.
They were like, we don't need to hear how you need to learn more.
Like no, not in 2026.
No, you've had a few years to at least a few years to learn something.
Right.
But my thing was always, okay, if this is hard for you and it's not an issue that you, you feel conflicted on it.
because you're seeing what you're seeing
and it's upsetting you,
but you have these other people
in your ear being like,
no, it's not that.
You don't understand.
You're conflicted on it.
You don't have enough.
Cool.
That's why to me the easy thing was,
I chose these artists
and I'm sticking by these artists.
You don't have to even speak on the issue.
He could have actually still been
sort of not that brave on it
but made a smarter decision.
I'm just sticking with my artist.
If you guys don't want this tour,
you don't want the tour.
The fans will be disappointed.
That's on you.
but instead I want to perform for you.
I want to perform and these are the acts.
We all agreed are coming.
Whatever their messages are.
Now he stood with them.
Now, well, now the, yeah, it's true.
Milk's out of the other.
That's right.
It is what it is, man.
Toothpaste out of the two.
I mean, I'll go back.
I'm going to say it again,
the fear of so many people
around having a discussion
about a government
killing journalists,
kids,
doctors trying to help
innocence
and not being able to say
yo you guys are systematically
trying to wipe out a section
of the population of a geography
it's a system of trying to wipe them out
that is a genocide
the fear around that
is the biggest headline to me
because for so long people
tried to act as if
this government and this nation was
like, you know, thoughtful, empathetic and like democratic.
And maybe there was a period where it was.
Moments, perhaps.
But we do the same here in the United States.
But what's the difference between that and here?
There is no difference.
That's my point.
Why is there this big fear?
That's why I, like, I've had this, I've had this conversation.
I don't know if you guys mentioned when I was gone, the Rolling Stone interview.
We did an interview for Rolling Stone about this issue.
and I've heard from many people on it
and that's I've tried to say that to several people like hey
I understand this is hard for you to accept this news
that a place that you love is not what you thought it was
but don't worry it's true of the place you're from
like that doesn't it doesn't have to be this all damning
you're a sellout you're a bad version of who you thought you were
like that's what it is to be American too
how about yeah and it's what we always say like we love this country
That's why we criticize it because we wanted to be better.
You could do the same.
You could do the same.
Listen, no one's telling you, I think, and I've, I guess.
You remember when Hassan Minaj was doing his stand-up on Netflix?
And he was being critical of Modi, the president, and people from his family, people in India,
and people who are, you know, Indian here in the United States from India, South Asian,
were coming down on him for talking about an elected official
in the nation where their heritage is from.
He's born here, though.
Right.
The Patriot Act.
That's what it was called.
It was called the Patriot.
It was really good.
And they were coming down on him and he was talking about how his family was calling
and his parents were like, yo, you can't.
He's like, I can't talk about the prime minister, Modi,
being a piece of shit.
Yeah.
Like what?
But there's this, I think, and by the way,
and the reason I'm bringing up,
this is because there is something where individuals here in the United States who are critical
of governments other places, right, think it's normal.
And people from the other place or who hold the other places close to their heart, it represents
their heritage, their whatever, and they don't want to see it get critiqued in that way.
That's a thing.
For sure.
That's a something, it's a thing, bro, like where it's like, no, no, no.
I believe it's a government.
I'm having the conversation.
I'm talking to people.
And I said this to Ebro the other day.
The people I'm talking to, you have to understand, they're not MAGA.
They're not like lunatics.
They have a blind spot.
Like on any other issue, if I were to point everything out about this, they'd be like, oh, that sounds bad.
Yeah, absolutely.
That government sounds terrible.
They're doing what to those people?
And then you get to this.
You're just like, well, hold on a second.
Yeah.
And it's this.
And so like, what I've been feeling over.
the last couple of weeks. The McLemore thing made a, it made like a bigger dent than I thought it would.
I guess because we all talk about this so much. That happening to me, I was like, oh, that's
interesting. I didn't think it would be this big a deal. Like it really hit. It somehow pushed this
issue bigger, which is great, which means I think, and hopefully McClamore feels this way.
I spoke to him. It seems like he feels his way, but I don't want to speak for him. But like,
this feels worthwhile. The juice feels worth the squeeze. This is changing the conversation.
more like and I and I realized how many people there are who are good people who are like still
they've come like they've moved over I can hear it you know what the new line is I hate Netanyahu
I hate Netanyahu that's as far that's but that's their that's the new line they've gotten to
they weren't even there before now they're at I'm against Netanyahu what do we have a
Is there like a, what is this, would this be a psychologist?
Yeah.
What is the thing with humans, because now I'm thinking through the lens of like
your love and affinity for something like a parent or a sibling, right?
Someone you, someone or something you truly love that is doing very bad things.
And the world is like your brother, your mother, your father is a horrible.
Your father is a horrible person.
But you're like, yeah, but I love my mother and I love my father.
And I don't really like you talking about them.
Right.
Well, that's how it is.
That's what it is.
I'm sure there's some sort of professional psychological name or something that defines your inability to see this thing that you love for what it is.
You see what I'm saying?
Or even if you do see it for what it is, it doesn't change the way you support it.
Right.
I mean, how do we feel about parents in the courtroom with their children who had they know did horrific things?
Oh, yeah, yeah, like a murder or a rapist.
Child molester.
Yes.
All the things.
Yeah.
There's family there.
And I'm not, I'm not accusing them of being wrong.
I don't know what the experience is.
I'm just saying we've seen it.
They're there.
No, I know, but they're my family.
And I love them and I'm not.
Yeah, whatever that is, that's this.
That's this.
It's an enabler.
Is it an enabler?
No, no, no.
No, this is more like a...
Because I was like, is it Munchausers, but no.
Munchauser, what's Munchauser by proxy?
But that's when you love someone who is doing damage to you?
Oh, that's Munchausers.
It's a hell of a name for a thing, by the one.
Munchausers.
You love someone who's like you love...
But no, this is, what do you mean?
This is just, I mean, we're almost overthinking it.
This is just like what deep, you know...
Well, I was just trying to think of the name.
I hear what you're...
I hear what you're at.
I'm trying to give it a name.
There has to be a phrase.
But like my Redskins fanship, my way of loving them was talking shit about them,
saying the name needs to change, the owner needs to go.
But I was still rooting for them.
You remember.
When some people left, more people are the opposite.
Didn't want any.
Hey, I do whatever they go with, I go with.
They're still fighting to get the name back.
There, you think there's a.
Everyone says it's Stockholm syndrome.
It's not Stockholm syndrome.
That's falling in love with your captor.
It's not Stockholm syndrome.
It's another syndrome.
It's a different one.
But anyway, putting that name,
the reason I bring that up is because putting that name on it
might help those individuals see what they're doing.
Not saying they'll change or whatever,
but sometimes people are just super defensive
and they don't want to see things.
You know what I'm saying?
And they also don't want to allow individuals
who have been harmed by their,
thing that they love to have the space to be vocal and critical and distance themselves
from the thing.
Right?
That's like part of it also.
Where it's like, no, wait, you don't understand.
No, I do understand what happened to me.
And I understand what's been happening.
And I understand what I've seen.
And I don't like it.
And I don't want to be participant of it.
And I don't want to give it a pass.
But there's also, there's these complexities to this argument.
that I know and I know everyone in comments believes there's no complexities to anything.
They just scream. It's genocide. This is easy. And I'm like, you're oversimplifying what
decades of relationship connection and all these things are. So when you're talking to people
about it, you know, they have a litany of things they get to. Well, what about this? Well, what about
this? Well, what about this? Some of their whatabouts are, you know, things. And like actual things
worth a conversation. And some of their what abouts. I'm like, yeah, I hear you, but let's just
focus on this specific thing. No one's trying to say that every single thing. Oh, but Israel is the
only place in that area where you can be free and openly gay. And Israel is the old. They have
incredible doctors and they've given all these things to the, all of these things can be true.
And also, again, back to America. We've done incredible stuff. And horrible stuff. And horrible stuff.
It's just about being able to look at the full picture.
And on that note, like, even in the United States of America,
there's places where it's uncomfortable to be openly gay.
Yeah.
Like, as much as a society where we're like, no, in America, you could be openly gay.
We could name some places where it's like, uh.
And black.
Or black, or interracial relationship.
And I would probably throw a bright back of those people.
Hey, why don't you go talk to the settlers in the West Bank,
see how they feel about the openly gay thing too?
Right.
My guess is they're not the, my guess is they're not the,
people in Tel Aviv at clubs hanging out.
Right, right, right.
Different vibes everywhere.
So it's complex, y'all.
But I do, I am sensing, I'll wrap it up by saying, I did sense that the McLemore thing
has done something here.
And there's more conversations that can be.
Well, and the other piece of it is we live in the United States of America, where we fight
for better or for worse for the ability to have this conversation.
And for us to say, hey, our money.
our taxpayer dollars are going to support a nation
that is doing things that we don't like
and we don't want our money going to that.
Like I think that's another piece of this.
That's a big piece.
Of course.
Because there is the narrative shaping
that I believe that the pro-Israel crowd
is fighting for to try to make it so
that they have support here in the United States.
And that is completely shot.
Well, that's the thing I've been trying to tell people also
is like, and that's in that interview that I did.
It's like, but it's over.
Like that has changed.
It's gone.
That's what the matter.
McLemore thing showed that Ed Shearan thought the safe play was to just run the play and stay with Israel. No, it wasn't. That wasn't the safe play. Why? Because the entire U.S. public has changed across party lines. It's completely changed. Yeah. When are we going to break down the mom-dani faces from yesterday? Oh, we should definitely hit that. Because the bros are back. You know what it's like when the pros link?
When the pros link, well, so the video hit yesterday of them standing next to each other. We have the one where Trump is just straight line. And, you know, we have the one where Trump is just straight lines.
and Mom Donnie's trying to keep his straight face
and to keep his straight face, he just blinks a whole bunch.
It's like, yo, blink three times if you need help.
Type blinking.
It's the best.
Mary, do you first?
What's your response to President Trump banning outlets
from the White House grounds?
Did you challenge him at all about this
in your meeting with him?
Historians and legal scholars have called it
textbook authoritarianism.
And Mr. President, are you banning outlets like MS now, CNN,
and Politico?
in order to distract from the Iran war and high gas prices.
I told the president that we're going to have all of the members of the press here on the lawn,
and that is something that I believe in as everyone, no matter the opinion or the critique, that we engage.
Mr. President.
It's interesting because they said they were going to boycott me, but they never boycott me.
I wasn't very worried about that. Look at all that press.
But no, I'm only doing it because they're going to boycott me.
it because I think the press also is an obligation. And, you know, I won in a landslide. I won the
election in a lot of great things. I've done great things. I've said on eight wars. We have the
best economic numbers for the country in the history of our country. We have $21 trillion pouring in.
The biggest number ever any country was three. Nobody's ever done what we've done. I never get anything
positive. It's always negative. No, that's exactly right, because he's not going to allow people to use
it as an evening afterwards.
He can't like play him behind his back.
This is the best meme, the best outcome.
That's all you can do.
That's all.
Let the meme just be completely blank because then you're just interpreting it.
An outlet would write at least reasonably well, but never.
If you look at CNN, it's fake news.
If you look at MS now, I don't even know what MS now is.
I guess it's the MSNBC, what it used to be, or MSDNC, as some people call it.
That's Democrat National Committee.
But it's just by the...
And I think that these outlets have an obligation to be fair.
And if they're fake news, I really think I have an obligation not to allow them into another very special house.
This is a special house.
Where does he mentioned?
Well, the White House is the most special of all houses, I have to say.
And I don't even think the mayor would argue with that.
And I think I have an obligation not to let fake news.
Very bad for the country.
Very bad for national security.
No one's bad.
I have that obligation.
So we'll see how it works.
I know you're not trying to.
No, I try.
But it doesn't work.
It doesn't blink.
Oh, there he is.
Okay.
No, I told you after our movie song.
He's the goat.
Oh, my God.
No one's politicianing better than Mom Donnie.
He's the highest level, bro.
I give it to him.
The way he kept that straight face.
And I'm telling you, he's better.
His ceiling, if this was sports, bro,
this is the, we found the new Jordan, bro.
Clinton
Obama
At this age
Think about the age he's at
Where he's
Think about where he would go
Like where he might go
Obviously we just know the ceiling
Is unfortunately under president
But he could do
I just really hope it's not like
He's hosting a talk show
Like I just want mom done
And keep going
Yeah yeah
You know, let's see
Because he's that ability
To do that
He met with him
He gets his stuff done
they came to some agreement on Sunnyside to get this housing done.
Yeah.
You know, and he knows how to play Trump close because it's a Queens thing.
It interests Trump because it's about building houses.
Like he knows how to play people in just the right way without ever.
He's a genius.
And specifically Trump, because Trump always is glazing him at some point.
Even though he'll say some little things about him.
Push comes to shove.
And he respects the celebrity game.
He's too famous to not be responsible.
respected by Trump because Trump respects.
Well, he knows Mom Donnie's really popping.
That's what he really pop.
You know Trump knows what it.
He has to stand next to it.
Hey, listen, earlier yesterday, Trump tried to do a ribbon cutting for his new helipad
and there's not even microphones working because the media is not there.
So he's got to go stand next to Mom Donnie just to get a microphone working.
Look.
Quiet.
Quiet out of the green.
Yeah.
Yep.
No press.
No mic.
Sorry, no TV here.
Why is this even a thing, but?
There's no microphone because there's no microphone because the pool cameras aren't there.
So maybe, Tim, this is one example of it backfiring just a little bit.
Just a little bit.
Just a bit.
So Trump knows what's hot.
Got to stand next time.
I'm dying out.
Oh, by the way, Trump's most recent approval rating, if you care about these things.
What's that number?
It's the lowest he's ever had.
Lowest average.
Which is like 30%.
28.
Oh, it's 28.
20, excuse me.
28, which is lower than his last low.
This is the lowest he's ever been.
Has the president ever been this low?
28%.
I don't think Bush might have been lower towards the end.
Oh, ever.
Ever.
Yeah, I think Bush towards the end was a little.
And if you believe in these things, so that means that 70% according to these polls,
70%, 72% of the country does not like what the president is doing.
Just 72%.
Yes.
Harry Truman was at 20%?
22% in 1952.
Richard Nixon, 24%
right?
Nixon 24 before Watergate
and Truman 22.
That's surprising to me
that Trump isn't the worst.
There's some people who will not let go.
What was Hoover's?
Like, you know what I'm saying?
I'm surprised that those two
are the absolute worst.
Well, Nixon, I guess things were pretty bad.
Yeah.
Meanwhile, in
updates of where's M.J. Rosenberg
at these days.
That's your dad.
And by where do you mean?
other than at home.
Politically.
Oh, okay.
Because he's almost 80.
Don't say that.
He's 79.
All right.
I'll tell you where he's at is out on Hassan Piker.
Really?
Grand opening?
Grand closing.
Done.
Well, Hassan's too much of a troll for him.
It's getting to be a problem now.
And the problem is he's connected to all these candidates.
But his inability to sort of, for lack of a better word.
And I say, and I'm saying this truly respectfully.
His lack of ability to shut the fuck up.
every once in a while.
Well, no, but yeah, because he's a straight.
That's what he does.
That's what he does.
So, like, remember that whole thing of like, who's going to be the Hannity on the left?
Who's going to be the Joe wrote?
Well, now you have it.
And they don't stop.
They got to be on every day because their brand, as much as he cares about politics.
Yeah.
This is the brand.
Well, so, but I see it differently.
People went looking for whatever you're talking about.
They did.
The person on the left, who, because we heard them saying it.
It was big.
So they went looking for it.
Yes.
They found a guy that had a big following, Hassan.
who cracks jokes,
talk shit, doesn't take shit seriously.
He'll wear a funny outfit.
We'll show up places.
We'll say unpopular things.
We'll say offensive things.
They found a guy, but he's very smart, okay?
And they saw him next to candidates that started winning.
Yes.
So then they said, we're going to go farther.
I saw Hassan on MS now with Simone and them.
And they were like, you know, Simone was like,
listen, I would tell candidates to stay away from you
because you're a problem.
I'm like, we need to win.
And I think that's where your dad is at pretty much, which is like, yo, you're not helping
people win because your dad is a political guy.
He's looking for, and similar to you, looking for the candidate that's actually going to get
the job that's going to be able to hopefully write and progress things.
Correct.
And get us as far away from what we're dealing with now as humanly possible.
Is that what you're saying is that what made your dad be like, I'm good off him?
Yeah, yeah.
He's just, it's just that it's too much.
much.
All right.
And it's too much all the time.
And then saying things that are not, as he says further things that create more smoke,
now they go, Abdul al-Sayed.
Wasn't that the guy who first brought you out?
And now Abdul Al-Said is basically on some, hey, I talk to a lot of people, bro.
I talk.
In fact, that's probably part of why he talked to, what's that idiot on Fox News we showed?
Walters.
Oh, Jesse Wolter?
He talks to Jesse Walt.
Like, he's like, I talk to people.
You know what I mean?
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
So I just think, it's, listen, politically for the most part, I like a lot of what Piker has to say.
But then he has some other things I also don't love that you just-
But how is that different than Joe Rogan?
But it's not.
It's not.
But, and this is the big critique I have, the right has a Joe Rogan who says dumb shit, offensive shit, has offensive people on those similar things.
is less knowledgeable, full stop about a lot of things.
And less political, by the way.
He's not as political as.
He's not, okay, fine.
That's Assange's whole brand, it's politics.
And fine.
However, none of what Joe Rogan has done
or any of these other people
collide with whatever the right is trying to accomplish.
Nobody brings that up where the right is afraid
to be like, yeah, like, I spoke to Joe Rogan.
Well, the right don't give an issue by me.
Because they don't give a fuck.
They don't have any shame.
We have a different, that's the thing.
And so, and that's a different standard.
Because we're always looking for the perfect candidate.
And that's always going to be an Achilles heel for us.
Yeah.
Right?
Of people who are trying to do progressive things.
Yeah, it's a great point.
Like let Piker be Piker.
He's not the one running for office.
He's not.
So if people want to talk to him and they talk to him, cool.
But stop trying to, he's a streamer.
Like, like, like, he's literally a streamer who everybody's tried to exalt as this spokesperson for progress.
You have people who.
who can actually speak for progressive things.
Bernie Sanders,
well, I think, I think,
Mom Donnie, AOC,
you have actual politicians
who are progressive,
who have gotten the job,
who you can go talk to
about the progressive platform.
Hassan Pikes are streamer.
For sure, but I will say,
the one thing I will put on Hassan Piker
is that in the way he carries himself,
he does think of himself as that.
As a politician.
As a lot of it's around me.
He likes, he's,
he's centering himself as the thing.
But that's a brand.
But it still doesn't mean anything.
No, no, I know.
But I'm just saying I can't act as if he's just an interviewer and people show up.
No.
He very much wants to be.
No, he's got, I'm what the Democratic socialist mindset.
It comes through here.
Like, he does like that energy.
Maybe, you might be right.
But I think he ultimately, from what I see is a rabble rouser.
And he's, and you're right.
The left.
And he's cat.
And I saw him say that.
Guys, I'm a rabble rouser.
Like, I start shit.
I start the combo.
I try to,
create a combo.
Like it's almost like allowing activists to shape policy.
We always go back to that with the whole defund the police where everybody's like running
from this.
No,
no,
no,
what?
And we,
going back to an interview we did when Kamala was running,
where we asked her about defund the police.
And she eloquently reshaped the conversation into actually discussing a policy,
which is working here in New York City right now.
Yep.
About reallocating funds to people.
who specialize in things
that can help us be proactive
against mental health issues
and crime and things like that.
It's actually working here in New York City.
But this is the dichotomy.
This is what makes it hard
is that because progressive people
have a tendency to be thoughtful
about a variety of things
and care about people's feelings
when they hear a piker say something
they don't like, unlike the right
where they're like, oh, he said he was,
yeah, he just said he likes Nazi stuff.
But he's not a full-on Nazi.
That's not what people.
progressive minds like, eh,
that sounds like a dangerous thought.
I don't think we should associate with him.
It's like we're too responsible for our own good.
Utilize him for what he can be useful for and move on.
And also say you disagree with him.
Yeah.
Be like, listen, listen, there's some ideas we align on.
Listen, we just saw, we give Mom Donnie, by the way,
the activists and all of the progressive people that would,
Mom Donnie's up there chumming with Trump.
And because we trust Mom Donnie,
we're like it's no big deal guys there's nothing to see here while Trump literally stood next to mom
donnie lying about multiple things everything everything yeah the whole thing all mom donnie had to do was
blink to let us know that he knows he's lying and we're like yeah nah mom donnie's good but he's earned
trust but that's right but once again we have plenty of people in position who can speak on
progressive ideas things that are actually working they're doing the job a streamer
it's a, what is that called?
A red herring.
It's a red herring.
Hassan Pikes a red herring for the right.
And then to your point, everybody's so thoughtful and careful that instead of being like,
yo, bro, he's a streamer with a big following.
There's some things we align on the things I don't agree with him on.
That's all it was, bro.
Relax.
Next topic.
Like, what you're talking about.
And honestly, that's what Abdul Zayyad has been doing.
Yeah, he has.
That's exactly what he's been doing.
He's done a good job.
He's done a good job dealing with it.
Yeah.
Oh, and oh, by the way, in the White House, next to the president, are literal Nazis.
open white supremacist Nazis.
And we run from a conversation with Hassan Piker?
Again, here you go, but you have one side that just doesn't care.
They don't care.
They're Gucci with it.
They can have whoever they want in there.
It really makes no difference.
Let's get to the rundown.
Laura got the rundown, turn that up.
Screen's on glow when she pulled up.
Headlines heavy, but we still cut up.
Light still flashing. We don't slow up.
Well, I saw this pop up last night in the Nolan Wells case.
TMZ and other outlets are reporting that no criminal charges will be filed.
The medical examiner determined that the death was a drowning.
Now, when I looked into it, the medical examiner did say that they found some bruising in the back of his head,
but they were like, that had nothing to do with the actual drowning.
And you know that because...
But what does that mean that doesn't have...
But I mean, wouldn't bruising mean...
I'm not saying it means foul play, but couldn't it mean you hit your head on a rock?
Couldn't it mean something?
Could mean something or maybe got bruised after the fact.
I don't know.
Yeah, I guess that's a possibility also.
Yeah.
So I was asking King Louis, I was like, did we ever hear about the independent autopsy?
But I haven't heard anything.
Well, here's the thing about trust.
Remember that we just were talking about trust.
Yeah, what state is?
Guess what we don't trust.
The medical examiner in Mississippi.
You really?
With a deceased black teens.
That's right.
You don't trust the medical examiner.
Why?
It's weird.
I wonder why.
I hadn't seen recently where things were at.
It seemed like over time more people were talking
and like more people were public,
like more kids were coming out and talking.
Yeah, they were.
We never got any further information, right?
Yeah.
Because the news coming out of Mississippi,
I'm sure it's easy to control.
Who's covering this?
Right.
The internet was.
So yeah.
Any credible news outlet
that's going to get people's attention
covering the Nolan Wells killing?
I saw it eventually.
get to like the night. No, but I mean
the details you're talking about, more students coming
out, the longer tail of it all.
Where would that, where would that be
covered where you would actually be able to discern
whether or not what you're getting is facts or not?
That confusion tactic,
right? We see it in multiple
things. Yeah. Like where you're just
like, wait, which way is up? What's the truth?
Who's telling the truth? Who can I trust? If you
can't trust the medical examiner of a state
well, I'm just going to wait to see if the family
releases a statement today or says anything.
I trust the family.
I trust the family wants to get answers.
So after banning MS now CNN and Politico and experiencing a day without live television coverage,
the White House is launching its own app to deliver the news.
Perfect.
Trump TV, Essentials Station.
I believe we do have a video about it.
It's like Vlad's TV.
Don't worry about it.
We got that covered.
I wonder if they got a drum kit.
Yo.
That's the skit that interrupted.
interviews all look like flat TV interviews.
Trump's just sitting there looking like boozy in front of the drum set.
That's funny.
So remember, you know, after the ban, it came out yesterday that five major television
networks, including NBC, ABC, ABC, CBS, and Fox News took a unified stand.
Okay.
And suspended their White House press pool coverage.
Actually, Fox News is who spoke on it.
Yeah, which I was really, really surprised.
But, you know, they were like, yeah, if we look,
lose these midterms.
We don't want the same thing that happened to us.
Did you know, I didn't know how the pool worked.
Did you guys know that?
No.
Ebra, do you know that the pool all worked together and they shared costs and they were all like,
no.
I did not know that the five.
So the five, the CNN, CNN, Fox News and the three networks in that pool.
And MS Now.
MS now.
MS now is under NBC, I guess.
Okay, okay, okay.
They all shared everything.
So like all of their work together would be sharing money.
They would share cost to do stuff and they would share footage.
So each person gets a day.
So it's like Fox News has cameras on this day.
And they would all split who does the works.
They would work together.
Even though their opinions were vastly different.
It's like, well, we all need this video and stuff either way.
So it was Fox News who put out the statement yesterday being like, hey, it was their day.
And they're like, we're not doing this.
Like this is we all work together.
I just did not know that was a thing.
Yeah, same.
how it operated in that way.
Same. Same. Same.
In positive news, guys, WMBA star Lisa Leslie was honored with her own statue outside the
crypto.com arena over the weekend.
She has become the first WMBA player to receive a statue in front of the arena.
And here's a speech that was moving around, which was beautiful.
Everybody can't afford to come and have a seat in here.
And back then, it was affordable.
But I'll tell you, I still was thankful.
because every opportunity I had was a moment to change the mind of a man who was a hater.
It was a chance to convince somebody who didn't believe in women's basketball.
It was an opportunity to let a little girl believe that she could be me and my teammates out here
because it's all about love and hope.
And at the end of the day, it's more than a sport.
It's an opportunity to change people's lives.
It's an opportunity to build community.
It's an opportunity to bring people together.
So if you don't remember anything about me,
I thank God that I have a statue out there to remind you.
But remember, it's always been about love and basketball.
God bless you all and thank you for supporting the L.A.
And the WNBA.
It doesn't relate to the top of the time.
No, great film.
Great film.
Great film.
First women's, you said.
but she's the first woman outside
the crypto.com arena to have a statue.
But I don't know.
We don't know if it's the first women's basketball.
Who else would have one?
I can't think of where one is.
There could be.
I'm sure there's coaching plaques.
Maybe there's coaches.
Maybe.
Women's basketball coach.
Maybe.
I think it's more than just the first one outside.
Crypto though.
But crypto, you know, crypto is a lot.
There's a Shaq statue for now.
No, I'm just kidding.
A Kobe statue.
Stop.
Yes.
King Luke.
Sue Bird has one outside Seattle.
Oh, Sue Bird?
There you go.
Okay, okay.
Is that, oh, those the only two?
Yeah, that's it.
Okay.
But L.A. has like a handful.
There's like five.
Yeah, Kobe Shack.
I think Phil Jackson's getting one.
No, no, but yeah, but the ones that already exist.
What's his face?
The legendary announcer.
Terry West.
Oh.
Whose name I'm forgetting.
Damn.
Give me the name.
Give me the announcer's name that I'm spacing on.
Chick Hechern.
Chick Hearn.
Has a statue.
I don't remember if West,
or Wilt has a statue?
Jerry West has a Laker statue.
There's a bunch.
The point is outside crypto, there's a bunch.
But magic?
Yeah, magic.
I hope they put Lisa Leslie's near Shacks,
and she's looking at them like,
Jack, rough day.
I had a rough day.
No, it was a rough day for Shack.
But also, too, Shack's been on this page
of law enforcement and wanting to be.
But by the way, this is why I'm hitting Shack
with the Super button.
Super.
because Shaq has been rolling with the police
for like 30 years like
He was like make a wish cop
Like he was down there be like Shaq you too can be a police officer
No no he's been into it no and then he became a police officer
Yeah he's doing all the sheriff stuff a sheriff I think in Florida somewhere
All the stuff he was captain cop
And everyone loves Shaq so much that they kind of were like hey man
Shacks just into this police thing
Because there are good cops of course there are but still a lot of people if you were to be like
I just want to be down with the police.
A lot of people would be like, all right, bro.
Shack got a pass on that, it felt like.
And then you had to go accept the thing with the biggest clown embarrassment.
But the big deal.
So policing and history, a top 20.
He's a top 20 worst in the field, Cash Patel.
Well, but also remember, it's the whole Epstein files because he's the guy that's, you know,
that is seen as one of the people protecting pedophiles.
Well, yeah, that amongst other things.
Yeah, Cash Patel is.
he's bad in every way possible.
He's a joke.
He is one of the things that like,
you would think with Shaq loving policing
as much as he does,
you would think he would look down his nose
at Cash Patel.
Because he's like, no,
I really care about real policing
and justice and people who do the right thing.
You are obviously an imposter
and a complete joke.
Like this is not serious.
No, he accepted it.
No, and to the way you put it,
they were Kikin.
It's hard to draw the line
of where Kikin,
where casual friendliness
and Kikkiing,
where that line
meets. When you're on a stage, when you're on a stage,
laughing with people who the world sees
or the public sees as bad, you get a Kiki.
Which is why, which is why Mom Dani was hitting the.
The Blink. There's no Kiki. No smile. No Kiki.
You will not accuse me of Kikiing. Yeah.
Yeah. So bad day.
That's called not Kikiing.
Anyway, that's the rundown.
There you go. We didn't get the outro on.
The run down turned out.
I don't know why these people are acting like they doing big productions.
You know this AI.
All right, well, let me not.
Let me chill.
What's going on to the super chat, King, Luke?
Well, we got two super chats.
All right.
Oh, nice.
Sussex Squad said, F. Peter, we missed you.
Oh, thank you.
Happy New Year and welcome back.
Thank you, friend.
And Juju 10452 said,
Friendly reminder that the person who can help the plate of the palisks
Palestinians is in the White House, not at an Ed Shearing concert.
I mean, yeah.
That also.
I mean, yeah.
But, you know, in the, in the, people are upset.
And when people are upset, they're going to come for whoever they could get their hands on.
That's just how it goes.
Yeah.
Yeah.
This was just a big moment.
This was just a big moment that drew a lot of attention.
And he's got to take the L.
You know what I'm saying?
He's just getting fried up out of here.
Listen, I'm sure there's tons of people still listen to Ed Shearron's music.
I'm pretty confident he's going to be okay.
As many people who are disappointed in Ed Shearin, I'm sure, you know,
and I'm sure there's people who claim they'll never support Ed Shearron ever again
and they're out on him.
I actually feel bad for the guy.
Yeah, by the way, that's far.
To say you'll never, like, to turn it into straight hatred for him
is taking this time where there's a lot of horrible things going on
and having just zero human empathy for another person.
Like he did not, he's not the villain here.
He failed.
He failed in the spot.
Yeah.
He's not the villain here.
I'm sorry.
People are still going to feel how they want to feel.
It's easy.
I loved seeing that in the comments.
When I was posting like our original thing we put up, I guess, we were like kind of,
I think we were gentle about it because, again, Ed Shearons never been a piece of shit
publicly.
So why would we sort right to he's a bad guy?
We tried to talk about it reasonably.
No, people were saying.
that you're soft. Yeah, we're soft and in the comments
it was like, this is easy.
Hey man, sitting in the comment, typing
a comment is easy. Play the
play the, play the
Korean, the actual ad,
the converse ad.
The actual converse ad.
I don't want to find real bad. No, no, no, that the photo
came from. So you saw the photo.
Uh-huh. Yeah. Everybody saw the photo.
So we saw the photo before
we actually saw the ad.
Of course. Allegedly, this is the ad.
Where's the photo?
photo. The photo was taken
I guess at that shoot so that
whoever decided to take that photo
was like a, the way I understand
it, was a teaser for the ad.
Okay, I can see that. Do you have the photo
still there, Baskam, too? You plagued
yourself. When was that
moment in, oh, oh, that's the woman
holding a pair of shoes. Yes.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Everyone's issue is like, why are you
obscuring the arm? Why does that look like
the KKK hood? You all, you.
all of the valid things.
And I can say for myself,
can't speak for everyone,
as someone who's accustomed to corporate America
playing in black people's face
in the history that I've been,
that I've inherited here in the United States,
I was immediately triggered by it.
Yes, for sure.
Right?
And so, and because, once again, trust,
there's a lack of trust.
For anything corporate and this.
Of people just rage baiting
and or completely disregarding
pain of black people.
Like, so that's a thing.
But then when I saw the original ad,
I was like, well,
what,
damn it, why did I see the photo first?
How did this happen?
But that was the teaser.
But how did this happen?
But like, so someone just,
someone leaked the photo intentionally.
Or they put it out as like the teaser
pick or whatever.
And they just looked at it
and didn't think of anything.
That's what they're going with.
Or they did think of a thing.
They wanted to rage bait.
Get us all talking and boom.
At this point, it could be either one.
Yeah.
And so when I woke up this morning and I saw my black and white chucks,
I put them on.
Right.
You said I feel good.
You said I'm going with.
No, I said to myself, I also have slave masters in my pocket
and I'm going to go get in a car that actually used to make vehicles for Nazis.
Sure.
and I bring all of that up because while in the Ed Shearing combo where you might be like,
you know, I'm out on Ed Shearan, are you out on the money in your pocket?
Those are slave owners in the pocket.
I know, I know.
Like how many things in your life right now that you know about are tied to the action?
The United States of America, where we live, a complete genocide took place here.
Which one?
Of indigenous people.
Oh, that one.
Oh, you mean the.
the actual eradication of the indigenous people of this land
took place hundreds of years ago
and I know that makes people feel comfortable
that was hundreds of years ago
but it happened and we're
and then we co-opped names of things and put it in.
And we shove them into little tiny places
where we're like hey you get to be here
and have your own little country here in these little spots
and now we use your names and your images
for team names and mascots and blah blah
Names of Rose in town.
But that was a long time ago.
That's it.
A long time ago.
That's it.
And would you know the actual number?
Is it like 50 million?
It's crazy.
Yes.
It's in the tens of millions.
Tens of millions.
Yeah.
So all of that to say, like while we're working through all of these things and rightfully
outraged, right?
I do think there is some space to have conversation and figure out how you're going to move
forward.
And I will say.
I have.
I think, oh, and I'm wearing a Yankees hat in just a few months ago.
They had a, they thought it was a good idea that they were going to have a moment of silence for a white nationalist named Charlie Kirk.
I remember.
It was an interesting choice.
And it happened.
So to the people who are like, yo, I could never.
I'm sure there's something.
And by the way, this is one of the things that I heard from in some of the Jewish people who I heard talk to after my Rolling Stone interview.
They feel like, but why is everyone so obsessed with just this?
it makes like them feel personally attacked.
Like why is everyone obsessed with our place being bad
when other places are bad?
And I tried to explain, well, A, it's 2026
and they're able to see everything about it
and B, it's funded by the U.S.
But I do understand, to your point,
like I do get triggered in that way sometimes.
Like when I Show Speed is doing one of his things
where he's talking to strangers online
and it pops up and it's a girl going,
I'm from Israel, and he just screams free palis.
it hangs up in her face, I'm like, bro, you should do that in the mirror for yourself.
Because all the taxes you're paying are going right to the same thing.
To pick random people from other places and get a holier than now position, as we live off
of us doing this and participate in our country doing this over and over again, Native Americans,
whatever, hundreds of millions, black people, a hundred million in slavery.
We have done this, and that doesn't even count, going around the world over the last
hundred years destroying a government last 35 even in the last 35 Iraq Afghanistan we've killed
millions of people either directly or indirectly and by the way we drop two nukes in Japan okay
evaporated babies evaporation gone generations of families gone sick and sick for generations
and then sick for generations and we go to
Japan and they welcome us and they love Americans.
They don't judge us as the as a people for that whatsoever.
Are we even humanly capable of that here in America?
Not right now.
We hate people.
Some are.
Some are.
I think we act like no one can make up though.
We act like no one could ever get past anything.
Well no, I would say the that, living in New York City where you have literally Palestinians
and Jews, Muslims and Jews, Christians, blacks, white, and
all of the everything living side by side on the train side by side for the most part
everyone is welcoming I think for the most part that's true right like yeah there's some
there's people who are not and there's people who are assholes for sure and you're gonna
find that for the most part everyone is welcoming I think for the most part the news and
the information we get is that there's big division and I don't I don't honestly
believe that's true right but I do believe that our leaders feed on that right
They feed on us being divided because they can then take advantage of us and not get us, you know, we can't unify ourselves.
Well, you were saying this the other day, that's sort of ultimately with the Israel-Gaza thing.
Yeah. That's the biggest picture of all of it.
Yeah.
Just like everything else.
It's just like everything else.
Rich ass people playing with chess pieces and lines.
And the thing about Israel and the reason everybody makes a big deal about it is because there are notable individuals in public who are either from or big supporters of Israel.
And it's a big ally that we make a big deal about, right?
So when something's going on, yes, people feel like they have more of a connection to this place
through by proxy or because they've heard about it so much.
So it is made a bigger deal.
I thought about this when we were talking about the N-word last week and Fad Joe.
And I was like, why is everyone so obsessed with the N-W world?
Well, a lot of it is because they feel like they know black people and they feel like they listen to hip-hop.
and they've been exposed to a word a lot and it's everywhere and why can't I do this thing that's
literally everywhere and we know the answer is well because the people who are offended by that
word and use it ingest with friends and whatever are telling you that that's not what they want
you to do that's the answer right and by the way that's not even unanimous like you have some
black people whatever so I think this the same thing you have this thing this entity this
place that you hear about, you know people from, whatever,
and it's supposedly supposed to be this great place,
and you're hearing these terrible things.
And then you're hearing things that you wouldn't even allow
here in the United States.
Separate roads, malls, yeah, yeah.
You know, open air encampments.
Then there's this most recent stuff where you're just like, wait,
what? And there's people allowed to come with guns
and kick people out of their homes?
And I think that's the piece where people, if that was happening,
happening here in the United States, it would be a bit, like, that's not happening here in the
United States.
A lot of bad things, not that.
But I think it has a lot to do with people dismissing it and saying, no, it's not happening.
And making you feel unsafe for asking and questioning or being outraged that you learn something
new.
That's a huge question too.
Where people are like, wait, what?
I could get in trouble for talking about this?
That's crazy.
It's not happening.
I see it.
And they're like, but it's not.
There's nothing going on.
So I think that that has a lot.
I don't know.
Is that still a thing?
Are people still saying there's nothing going on?
Or dismissing as you don't understand.
Or dismissing as you don't understand.
And that's still going on heavy too.
We got to get to our White House news correspondent.
Oh, yes, yes, yes, Ebony.
I wonder if, wait a minute.
Ebony McMorris is on the program.
Oh, wait.
She ain't in the White House.
Oh.
But I need air horns.
I love for the White House.
Listen, Ebony McMorris, you have been cast out as well?
You just forget about me.
The president is trying to...
What is that?
No, we never forget about you.
We'd never, ever forget about you.
But now, so give us the lowdown.
Fox News, CBS, ABC, NBC, CNN, you know,
have been together and basically shown solidarity
to not be a part of the, what are they called, the press pool?
Yep.
how did that affect you?
So I heard you all saying earlier because I was watching the show y'all all
years.
I am a part of the radio.
That's why when we were talking about my big mic that I always hear,
and this, which is the TV program, just existing about five groups,
five different outlets.
Cover the president wherever he goes.
In town and there's out-of-town cover.
What would happen was when those outlets land together,
they really left the White House at a disadvantage.
Now, they can always go and get other outlets, MAGA outlets,
cover the president, but they're not part of the official press school.
And I know that they tried to do that, but nobody really wanted to do it.
They reached out to other different organizations.
I believe it was first.
Hold on one second.
I know you guys are getting a little double feedback.
Your mic also sounds a little like you're just cutting in and out.
Yeah, she's going to get it together on that side.
But, you know, the whole White House press correspondent as she was just articulating,
you know, she's in the radio section.
So she covers and shout to AURN who brings Ebony to the point.
program. Yeah, they do.
Yeah, they do.
But yeah, she's in the radio side
of things. So, I guess
the TV side
has all band together, I think is what she was
trying to say. And we'll come back
to Ebony out there on the White House.
You guys want to get to the gurus?
I don't know if I have a new guru.
Oh, man, big fail.
Do we have Ebony?
Okay.
Ebony, you back?
Damn.
I am back.
I hear you somewhere
You hear me
You have the wrong three five right there you go
Ebony
Yep I'm back
Can you hear me?
Okay okay
Now you sound crispy
You sound good to go now
There's a little feedback
Can you do you guys hear
Yeah we hear you just fine
Okay perfect
So what would happen was
When these outlets
Band together
And said that they were not going
To cover
The President's movements
Which I'm excited
Because we've had
Fight about this before
When the President has come
out against various outlets, the question has been, okay, so how do we respond instead of letting
someone just kind of be out there by themselves? So I'm glad they made this move. The judge has
given the Justice Department until today to file its written defense of Trump's ban on all of
the outlets, CNN, MS Now, and Politico. That came through Judge Timothy Kelly, who was a Trump
appointee. And so that's going to be setting up real fireworks. And tomorrow is the hearing where we will
see what the judge says, whether they have to remove this ban immediately, which they probably will.
This was a dumb move because it backfired on the president when we had an event yesterday.
I was standing next to the camera that was covering the president. There was no audio outlet.
Yeah, that was the ribbon-cutting outlet.
Yeah, I was right there.
I was right there for the ribbon-cutting.
I was right there with my mic.
But because you took, because the outlets decided to, I'm not going to do this,
they put in another outlet who could not shoot the audio back.
And so as the president tries to silence the media, he was a little silence yesterday.
He silenced himself, that's for sure.
Literally.
Absolutely.
So we're going to see what happens with the DOJ.
They have to do this written defense today.
Tomorrow we're here with the judge has to say.
But the president has said that he's going after other outlets.
This is not new.
He did it in his first administration.
He's going to it again.
I would say this.
We all knew this was coming for this conversation before it even hit
national
air.
And these outlets,
Politico says that they,
all the outlets are saying
they've been banning their First Amendment rights
to free press and their due process.
And many are saying,
can the president do this?
And that answer is no.
You cannot kick people out
because you do not like what they are saying about you.
But if we're following this administration
closely,
oftentimes they do these things.
Trump and his team
so that they can make money
elsewhere.
They cause a problem
so that they can figure out how to monetize
and yesterday they caused this problem
and launched Trump TV.
So it gave space
it gave space basically for them
to launch yet another
platform. Well maybe
Ebony could get a gig on Trump TV
would that interest you in any way?
No sir, no man.
I want you guys to.
Don't forget.
I don't think people really,
because so much has happened.
Remember when Trump got in office,
Caroline Levin took over the press briefing,
and then a little later on,
when they didn't like some of the things
were being said,
they launched another briefing.
That briefing was with MAGA outlets.
Oh, yes.
I remember this, yes.
It did not last long.
Most people didn't watch it.
They had it.
on YouTube and it was horrible the questions were ridiculous it didn't last long i don't think honestly
this trump tv is i think it's going to follow along that same pathway the president has always wanted
to control the media we are not about to do state media here in america well i don't think
that so i don't think the aim just like with his meme coins i don't think the aim is ever for things
to be successful long term
as much as it is to create a distraction or launder some money.
I hear you.
Over a short period of time and act like,
hey, we did a thing over here.
We had to spend money on it,
but I gave a kickback to my boy.
And I was able to do X, Y, and Z.
And in the meantime, you know, I had everybody chasing the tail.
Like, a lot of that is just, you know, that's, listen, man,
these are mobsters from streets, man.
These are like literal criminals.
There's a history of criminality tied to the current press.
resident. Like, it's not even, and then if you look at what he was doing in New York City with
real estate and his felony convictions with, you know, lying about finances and documents and
shell corporations and kick, like all the things. This is the same thing. But I also think he's
too much of an egomaniac to let this go. Nah, what go? He wants to see his name. He wants to be
a part of every single headline. That's why I think that this is not going to last. No, I hear you,
but bros had his name on school, stakes, ties.
Doesn't matter, not enough.
And a lot of that stuff is failed.
No, but I'm saying that stuff's failed.
And then he goes and does another jukes.
You know what I'm saying?
There's another hustle right after the thing fails.
He doesn't even blink.
Like, he had his, didn't he have his own sports league?
No.
Or no.
He wanted to buy a team.
He wanted to buy a team.
Caught an L on that.
But then wasn't he the commissioner of a league or something?
Did he have XFL?
No, no, USFL.
USFL.
But he didn't own it.
He was just like the.
he was he was involved but did not own but I failed to yes now he listen he and also do we talk
about the gangsterism ebony of this last week of him in Greenland because like that is literally
straight off the Sopranos like if you watch the Sopranos Trump is treating Greenland the way
it's like when it's it's literally him showing up somewhere and being like hey we're going to do
your security trust us you're going to like it for life by the way
We're secured.
It's literally some straight-up gangster shit.
Well, yeah, but this was after he made a bunch of noise about taking it over, right?
We're going to take Greenland.
Greenland's going to become a part of the United States and kept beating that, ringing that bell, ringing that bell, ringing that bell, ringing that bell to where they had to come to the table to figure something out.
Remember when Richie Appreel gets out of jail and he shows up and Beans these pizza spots like that?
Wait, say it again, Ebony?
I was going to say, let me tell you where that may not work.
and two fronts that it's not working, that's what they're wrong and China.
Yeah.
The talk isn't getting it done.
And no, the talk is not getting it done.
And even right now, he is at the United Nations General Assembly and countries that come together because there is such division going on right now.
And the backdrop is that the world isn't worse shape than it was a year ago.
We've got two wars that are still raging in Europe and in the Middle East, a shaky global economy, and no consensus on whether it's climate or security.
Even the UN Secretary General called it an error of deep uncertainty.
There's power shifting everywhere.
And so we've got the UN, and then we also have President Xi's visit to the White House this week.
and AI is supposed to be a conversation on the table,
but a terrorist course and the war in Iran.
She is bringing a large business delegation with him.
And so there's going to be the economy and economic and global power is going to be at the table.
And he's not been able to do that.
And let me add to the list where he hasn't been able to do that.
Y'all, we're talking about it earlier, Mom Donnie.
That's right.
There are certain leaders that doesn't work with.
Well, guys, as much as I want to shout out to the people in Greenland.
I don't know if they have anybody tuned into the Ebro-Lora-Rosmerk show, and I mean, no disrespect.
Okay.
You guys remember what the summer?
You guys remember Summer Jam?
Sure, I remember.
And you remember looking out the crowd when we were at MetLife Stadium.
50,000, 50,000.
I remember those days, sure.
That's the entire population of Greenland.
Got it.
Okay.
So, yes, Greenland, I don't want to disrespect you.
You know, but Greenland is not China or Iran.
But, but nonetheless, you know, they got bullied.
Yeah, I mean, yeah.
They got bullied.
And now the United States, is it right?
Ebony will be the security provider for 56,000 people for life.
That's when really what they want is the resources in the ground.
That's really what they want.
Well, yeah.
Oh, God bless.
Whether it is Greenland or any other place that we have.
you're talking about that has been the he treats the world like a big real estate deal yes but it is
backfiring yeah no it's it's it's an embarrassment to say the least ebony mcmorris um so what happens
next now uh do you get to go and do the audio microphone thing as a part of the press pool
or are you like what happens for you now microphone check yeah so yeah so yeah i
I am a part of the radio pool.
And let me just tell you, all of the outlets
have been in conversation about next steps, to be honest.
There are conversations that we've all been having
with each other because these are all our colleagues,
even though we are serving in separate stations.
And no one wants to be bullied in this situation.
And we kind of see the writing on the wall.
I am part of the radio pool.
I was pulled yesterday on radio.
There was no audio to get because the president didn't even come
to us anyway. I am on a eight-day rotation, so every eight days I serve in the pool. As of now,
I will be there next Tuesday, actually. I'll still be on with you all, but I will be pooled.
And we have to kind of wait and see, especially what this judge says on tomorrow. That's what I
can't wait to see. And also what is in this written statement by DOJ, which will be a bunch of
mess. Well, and the big decision here to reiterate it is this is constitutional.
Freedom of the press is in our Constitution.
Oh, yeah.
There's an obligation that our politicians and our, you know, elected officials have to have freedom of the press to cover the goings on.
Yeah.
That's in the Constitution.
Well, that's why this could end up blowing up on him.
Like, this could be another one that he thinks is no big deal.
And I'll just, you know, why are we dealing with this?
I'm not buying that.
What do you mean?
That it won't blow?
I'm just not buying that he thinks.
I'm not buying that he thinks.
I would buy that there are someone,
there are people around him that are like,
hey,
we're going to do XYZ,
you cool with that?
He's like,
yeah,
I don't like this.
This is fake news anyway.
Yeah,
and they're running a play
that is going to financially benefit him
or they're trying to obscure something else
or distract us from something else.
You're probably right.
But I do think this one could blow up in their face.
At least in terms of ending up looking bad
to people that they may have not counted on.
Okay.
I think there's people.
Really?
You're not going to let me.
It's already looking bad.
What is it?
He's polling at 28%.
We discussed earlier on the show.
72% of the population isn't rocking with him.
Some of the worst approval ratings in presidential history.
Absolutely.
He's polling low there.
And also on how he is pulling low when it comes to international affairs and domestic affairs.
Every single metric, this president keeps polling low, but he does not care.
And what makes me upset is that he has a Congress that is complicit in this and allows it
and a Supreme Court that many times backs him.
And I think that's why he has felt so powerful.
But I always have been reminding people this week of those two steps that Stacey Abrams so eloquently laid out for us on how a democracy becomes an autocracy.
That's right.
Well, and we are entering early voting in the next, what, two weeks?
Is the early voting window?
Ready?
No, early voting is already, early voting has already started in certain states.
I was saying here in New York.
It started last week.
I think it doesn't it start like mid-October going into November.
But yeah, I'm other states around the country.
Voting has already started.
Ebony McMorris, thank you for your time today.
Sorry about the technical difficulties, but we appreciate your work and we'll see you next week.
Thank you, Ebony.
No, thank you so much for having me on.
It's because I'm in my White House booth in the basement.
Oh, yeah, basement Wi-Fi is never good.
Thanks, Ebony.
Oh, man.
There you go, ladies and gentlemen.
Ebro-Lor Rosenberg Show.
So you said you're out of gurus, but that was a lie.
No.
I don't see.
I mean.
So we'll get to the gurus tomorrow.
Either way, yeah.
But either way, if you have an issue,
to send your email.
Please do.
The original gurus at gmail.com.
the original gurus at gmail.com
your destination for clarity.
I want us all to do some homework,
both the EL Army and you guys tonight.
Have you guys seen any of the new Drake music videos?
From FOMO?
Yeah.
No, just a clip here or there.
We haven't actually.
I mean, some of them are like short little kind of,
but I'd love to get your feedback.
You want to break it down?
Okay.
I'm not break down.
Where can I get that's on YouTube?
You can get on Apple Music.
There's a bunch of music videos up there.
I'm sure YouTube as well.
All right, cool.
But yeah, he hasn't dropped the whole project, I don't believe, yet.
Just a bunch of, and also music videos from the other portions of the project, right?
Like you have the Habiti records.
He dropped some music videos for the maid of honor, some of those up-tempo.
So he just dropped a bunch of videos.
Yeah, there's a bunch of music videos.
That he aired in the FOMO stream that he did.
Exactly, exactly.
But anyway, go check that.
Tomorrow we'll get to the gurus.
Anything else we missed today, Laura, we've got to get to.
No, I think we're pretty good.
Covered everything for Gucci.
I mean, there's other stuff, but we'll do it tomorrow.
On Ybro-Laure Rosenberg, we appreciate your time today.
See tomorrow.
Don't follow the time.
