Starting point is 00:00:47 Morning, morning. Yeah, good morning, everyone. Hopefully you've gotten in your cars on your way to your things, checked out your other forms of entertainment, and you've checked in with us now. Why do you say they said they yesterday? What do you mean? Well, because I want people to know that, you know,
Starting point is 00:01:03 recognize that we recognize that they have other options before they come in. But you hope that they've checked. Like, you hope that they've, like, bounced around already? Yeah. Yeah, so they could just stay with us. Oh, like, you all got it out of the way? That's right. Oh, I just don't know to show what you meant.
Starting point is 00:01:16 Oh, okay. Do you need to? You think they do? I don't, I, you said it two days in a row. I was curious about what this meant. Yeah, that's all. I just want them to, you know, look, they got other options. There's also, well, you know, me.
Starting point is 00:01:29 There's also, I'm very competitive. So I wanted you to go around and see what else is out there before you check in with the show that's actually putting something together for you. If we're running on time, That's our biggest problem Getting people in here Getting their headphones on
Starting point is 00:01:43 Getting things together and being on time For the price I'm getting paid Me surviving getting out of my bed today Is a goddamn miracle But listen if you're trying to get paid paid from this program You may not show up anymore If it's about money This is Rosenberg's last show
Starting point is 00:01:58 Thanks for coming out It was a good time No, me just being here To last night was the night, bro It's like it's hard He's going to something tough And I've been through it So I feel him
Starting point is 00:02:08 having a baby and a senior dog at the same time is very hard. No, it's not easy. I'm sure there's people watching right now. They're like, when putting up wang emojis because they've done it like 90 times. Well, I guess what? For the people who've done it 90 times, it's actually easier, though. Yeah, probably, right? So, like, I don't think they relate.
Starting point is 00:02:26 I honestly have decided I don't talk to people who have a bunch of kids about my, my hard times because they're not going to get it. Well, they don't remember. It's weird how the human brain works, too. No, that's why they keep having a moment. Right, because you don't remember that that first one was, the first one was definitely hard. Or it was not as hard as you thought it would be. And so you went and had another one.
Starting point is 00:02:49 And the second one was a disaster at the toddler stage or the infant toddler stage. Yeah, I've heard that that can be the case too. But, yeah, we've been going through it for a while. I mean, listen, the baby's great. Last night, she was not great. Last night she was a nightmare. It was a 4 a.m. to 5.30. full-on hysterics.
Starting point is 00:03:09 I had to do the... I actually had a moment where I had to follow what they taught you in the hospital. Do you guys remember in the hospital they make you watch the video? Yeah. They at least did for me
Starting point is 00:03:18 the Shaken Baby video? Yeah, yeah, yeah. And they make you watch it. Ebro, will you help me find this thing? Where is my thing go? I'm sorry. I need help. It was here and now it's lost.
Starting point is 00:03:28 I'm always trying to find the thing. He's trying to plug in his headphones. That's what's happening. Yeah, follow the wire for me. I had to remember the shaken baby video, which is they had a thing that when I saw it, I thought was so absurd until you live it, which is if the baby's going completely insane, put the baby down and walk away. Yeah. Yeah. I hit that this morning. Yeah. It was a, I'm going to set you down. Yeah. I'm going to go in the
Starting point is 00:03:54 other room and I'll be right back. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Because the, I was trying to get the, she, she peed through everything, right? So I'm now, I got to get the sleep sack off and the outfit off. Yeah. New diaper, new outfit, new sleep sack at 4 something a.m. And you know, you're still hoping you're going to get back to sleep, right? Maybe not. But you may not be, but you're still fighting through it. So the hysterics, the hysterics when I went to put the, try to get the new sleep sack on was like, you're not getting this sleep sack on.
Starting point is 00:04:24 This sleep sack's going to be the death of me. And I will not let you get it on. Fighting and screw. And I mean bloody murder and, and I don't know if, Ebro, you have this experience at all, But like, when I'm trying to do things, I'm hoping I can do it without Natalie coming in. Yeah, of course. But then she'll hit a certain, if they hit a certain blood curdling, I'm like, that's it. Now you know mom's coming.
Starting point is 00:04:47 Now we're both in trouble. Now I didn't get the job done. And you're, we're both grass because of this. And also Natalie struggles to go back to sleep more than I do. So we try to avoid her getting up because I can generally do a bunch, even feed her, get back in bed to Paul. back to sleep whereas once she's up she's up so you haven't gotten how old's uh my now a year in three weeks you haven't gotten the trust where if the baby's crying you hear nat nat doesn't go you need help there's not like a you need help or you got this um it's well our back to our stupid
Starting point is 00:05:25 apartment the hallway's kind of far so you can't just go it it requires a full-on yell got it's like you got this oh no it's annoying It's annoying. I thought I liked that's why I liked the apartment. I was like, it's cool, it has always. And so she assumes I have it. She just assumes I have it. But if it hits that blood curdling, where it sounds like the baby's hurting.
Starting point is 00:05:46 Like you're like, and I held her. I know. And I'm like, what's going on? She's uncomfortable. She's tired. Same thing going on with you. Same thing going on with you at the same time. I know.
Starting point is 00:05:58 That's what's going on. We're tired. I'm angry. I'm angry. I want to be bothered. Why are you bothering me? But clean me. But clean me.
Starting point is 00:06:06 And also she probably wants a bath. She doesn't want to just get a diaper on and a new outfit. Yeah. But like it's 4.30 in the morning. So I'm like, I'm not putting you in the bath this second. I'm putting you in a diaper, giving you a dry outfit. I'm going to wipe you down and drop you in the bed and hope it works out. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:06:20 But anyways, I won't bore you. Sometimes you just got to talk to him and be like, listen, you're going to work through this, my gym. Listen, I think of you in those moments. And I'm like, I'm trying to talk to you like you're 30. You have to know. And what else you got? You can't. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:06:32 Oh, you can't. What are you going to do? Well, what about the scream back move that you like? The wang! Oh, we're doing the wang! I'm mad too. I do that. We're all mad.
Starting point is 00:06:41 Everybody's mad. Wham? You want to wham? I wang! But no, it's hard. Everyone out there lies. Maybe some people have an easier time. Maybe the first year is easier for some people.
Starting point is 00:06:50 They just don't talk about it. Do you think that's what it is? Yeah, they don't talk about it. Or if you really think about it, a year and three weeks in, how many of those nights have you had? Not many. That's why you forget. That's the truth is we haven't had that money. I just find the overall collection of everything, toll on relationship, you know,
Starting point is 00:07:13 me, us having work transition, pressure. Change, move, the collective. I have the other job going, we're now working harder at this job than we were working at the other job for free. Yeah. So the collection of everything. Well, listen, there is the reality. that we can wrap this up this week.
Starting point is 00:07:36 Well, I don't, that would be... Why would you say that? I'm just putting it on the table. So everybody knows that we don't have to. Because he's saying there's a 20% part of him that kind of feels like doing it at times. Well, no, I'm just like, I don't want people to feel like we have to, like... We do.
Starting point is 00:07:50 Well, because we're already down the road and we want to give this a shot in earnest. And we want to do this. That's all I'm saying. If you want to do it, stop bitching. The chat is cooking us right now. I know. The chat is so mad at us right now. Meanwhile, our level of commitments really to the people.
Starting point is 00:08:08 Right. Well, and why are they mad at us, Laura Stel? No, because we're talking about maybe quitting. They're like, what are you saying? I just subscribe. I just gave you my Patreon. Yo, there's somebody's like, what do you mean you quitting? I haven't even got my T-shirt yet.
Starting point is 00:08:22 We just had 50 in the Super Chat. I know. I get you $50 just today to make it clap. Reading the amount of comments from people that are just like seemingly just discovering us. Yeah. Yo, one of our good friends hit me up yesterday and commented something
Starting point is 00:08:37 about the other show. Okay. Actually, I might as well say because it's hilarious. He goes, yo, no, in all seriousness, how did Shawnee get an entirely new voice? Yes.
Starting point is 00:08:45 Which I don't want to, like he had vocal, he removed vocal cords and replaced them with new ones. Well, Shawnee's voice was messed up for a long, long time.
Starting point is 00:08:53 And now it's crystal. No, but people are saying he literally sounds like a new man has shown up. Yeah. That's how crazy it is. Well, he's doing the dance. So he's beyond.
Starting point is 00:09:01 Dance. Your dance can't change your vocal cords? No, it's different kinds. She's doing that dance. Yo, they got a black fact every day. No. Every day? Yeah, it swooned in this morning.
Starting point is 00:09:13 They were teasing it in a black fat coming up. Oh, my God. Anyways, so our friend, our friend, though, hit me up. And I go, hey, respectfully, why are you not rocking with us? He's like, oh, y'all are on? I said, yeah, bro, every day.
Starting point is 00:09:27 8 a.m. Sent him to the line. But how would he know? I would think on our soul. I guess people aren't seeing the socials. He may not be on social media like that. He posts every once in a while. He sees my stuff.
Starting point is 00:09:38 But he may not see your stuff. Yeah, that is true. We don't know. You don't know if the algorithms. You may only see like race baiting or, you know, bad bunny clips this week. He might not be doom scrolling. You know what I mean? No, it's just doom scrolling.
Starting point is 00:09:50 You don't see just like your friends posting their new venture. That's right. But I still get people and be like, man, I miss you every day. You're part of my own routine. And I was like, you know, we're live every day. And they're like, oh, my God, this is amazing. So people are still learning. But the other part is too, like for a thousand years,
Starting point is 00:10:05 you could just get in your car and stuff is on. Mm-hmm. If you want to check the Ebro-Laul-Rosvenberg show, you got to think a couple of steps. You got to enter YouTube. You got to connect the Bluetooth if it's not already connected. You got to actually opt into this. And that's more work for people.
Starting point is 00:10:19 Well, I heard from one of my most successful friends in life, my dear friend Olivia Milch, who's a fantastic writer and director. And she has been checking it every day. I was like, I love this version of the show. you guys just sound freer. Like I just hear the freedom in the show, which I thought was nice to hear. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:10:37 I don't feel free. No, you feel more bound up by work. Well, also, the problem, the, the, the, previously, I only cared about my commitment to you guys. Otherwise, most days I wouldn't have shown up. I only cared about knowing, well, you guys are all working, we gotta work. Now we're actually invested in the entire operation.
Starting point is 00:11:01 because it's meaningful and people care about this. Yeah. Meaning us. Whereas previously, beyond our show, the walls were falling down. There was... Equipment didn't work. Yeah, there was no... When you're doing an interview, the lighting's trash.
Starting point is 00:11:15 Like, no one else cared for the overall thing. Your, our mic sound way back. By the way, I tuned in and for Meryl in the morning, everybody over there. Have them fix your microphones. I don't think they have anyone who knows how to do that. You mean that air? Then they can't. Well, and even it's supposed to be Mero in the morning.
Starting point is 00:11:34 His mic came and here is Mike. Like, and then when they do interviews, you know that mic position over there. Remember, I used to complain that mic position, which is why we never went in the studio anymore because they wasn't getting it right to sound right and to look right. So when you're in the studio, it just doesn't look good. No, our vibe would be good in the room, but I would always be like it's ironic. We sound worse in the room. Yes.
Starting point is 00:11:55 Like we are better off where we can control our own levels. Right. So anyways, the point is we're invested now. And that's why you're more tired. Because you say you don't feel free. Well, no, I don't feel more tired. What do you feel? You feel more invested?
Starting point is 00:12:06 I feel refreshed. No, no, no, I don't feel free because I can't play the songs I want. Oh, that part. There's things you can't play. Like, you know what I mean? There was things we didn't have to think about. Yeah, that part wasn't I. That is the bonus of radio.
Starting point is 00:12:18 Like, I did a Dilla mix yesterday. Yesterday was 20 years, 20 year anniversary of Dilla's death. And I made a little mix, but I'm like, I was just going to throw it on the one at Patreon. We could throw it on our Patreon, but we can't put it. can't put it out. Right. Can't put that stuff out in the world like that. Do you want to put it on the Patreon?
Starting point is 00:12:35 Well, I did it for my very under. You worry about us being underserved on this Patreon. The Wan-Up Patreon. They're in the desert. They're in the desert just waiting for a- You guys have a subscribe? A sprinkle of water. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:12:45 We still have people who are that loyal, and I've been... Listen, that's another day. The Me and Syf Wan-EpSit situation is another day. You want to do a Patreon about that Patreon? Listen, Eboe-Laure Rosenberg. Make sure you like, subscribe, chat, all the things. We'll be shouting the Super Chat if you want to throw some cache in there. And I'm still uncomfortable with it.
Starting point is 00:13:07 But, you know what I mean? We'll do the dance for it. Well, listen, I got our kneepad yesterday. Start dancing. Yeah, you gave the mic top. You know what I'm saying? Made it clap. It was crazy.
Starting point is 00:13:13 Griff hit us with the, you need eye contact. Oh, it was crazy. Yesterday was a wild day, bro. But yeah, the Super Chat makes you dance. Laurel hit the finger bang. Everyone's doing the dance. Oh, oh, oh. Hey.
Starting point is 00:13:28 Now, speaking of scrolling, on the gram. I don't know about y'all, but I'm still in the bad bunny vortex. I know. Of watching. So yesterday, I literally spent the entire day watching people watch the halftime. Oh, that's the new thing? So they put up cameras to film like their parents seeing Bad Bunny, which just had me in tears. Oh, my God. Because can you imagine, can you imagine if you are a Puerto Rican grandparent,
Starting point is 00:14:00 Or anybody from a Spanish-speaking country that has worked as their ass off to just be in this country, start a family, maintain a family, get your kids' education, whatever, hold on to your traditions, hold on to your culture as much as you can. Mm-hmm. And boom, at the biggest moment in, like, this society's entertainment calendar. Mm-hmm. A kid from Puerto Rico gets up there and does a full set in Spanish highlighting culture. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:14:39 Can you imagine what that feels like? It's beautiful. But that's what I was saying yesterday when I was on threads and I was reading all the people who felt like they never get seen or celebrated. Like reading it got me all choked up. There was just one girl from Uruguay. She's like, they never mentioned us. And she's like, and I saw my flag. She's like the pie that was oozing out.
Starting point is 00:14:59 Even just hearing. Even the people from other countries that just heard the shout out. The police flag, like everyone was celebrating. Oh, man, the Haitian flag, the Belize flag. The Belize flag. Shoutouts, you know. Yo, Jamaican people hearing them shouted out with the Latin countries. Because, you know, the Caribbean can be a little very divided based on language.
Starting point is 00:15:17 Right, right. You know what I'm saying? So, oh, that was my whole day yesterday. Yeah. Dude, this sounds like my house. Yesterday, yesterday. Natalie and I've restarted Mad Men. And I was like, hey, babe, can we start the episode?
Starting point is 00:15:28 Her out. It's only bad money videos. Her algorithm is only that. So you're in the same place. Yes. It's every single. It's either that and we'll get to it. Hi, I played a tree.
Starting point is 00:15:38 I played a tree. I love the tree video. I also played a tree. I love the tree video. The tree video is hot out of here. Wait, can we play the video, Ebro, about the story behind the wedding? Oh, yeah, we got that. You got the bad bunny wedding story?
Starting point is 00:15:52 Heartwarming. This is great. All right. I'm here for it. While this couple was planning their wedding, they jokingly sent an invite to a certain celebrity. Now this celebrity did not attend their wedding, but because they sent the invite, they had to scrap all of their wedding plans. This is such a crazy story. So Thomas and Alicia are a beautiful couple from Southern California. They've been together for a while,
Starting point is 00:16:15 and they got engaged in Cannon Beach, Oregon. They start planning their wedding, they send out all their invites, and they have 15 left over. They sent 14 of them to local businesses, and they decided to send one to a certain celebrity. They end up hearing from the celebrities team informing them that this person would not be attending their wedding, but they wondered if they could hop on a Zoom call. Now, Thomas and Alicia think this is odd, but they agreed. So they get on the Zoom call,
Starting point is 00:16:42 and what this celebrity's team tells them absolutely shocks the couple. They get off the call and they realize, we have to completely cancel all of our wedding plans. Now, why would they have to do that? It's because they were just informed that they're going to be getting married at the Super Bowl. So they sent an invitation to Bad Bunny because they chose one of his songs to be their first dance.
Starting point is 00:17:05 The team reaches out to them, lets them know that Bad Bunny can't come to their wedding. But if they would like to get married at the Super Bowl, he would be happy to have them. And that's exactly what happened. So the wedding that you see during that Super Bowl performance is actually a real wedding. There was an engagement scene during the performance. There was the wedding scene during the performance. Bad Bunny is their legal witch. and he even signed their marriage license.
Starting point is 00:17:29 Can you imagine sending out a wedding invite and then end up getting married during the most of you have in the country? This is an incredible story. Shout out to Thomas and Alicia. He's one of the very few content creators who I enjoy when he pops up on my feed. Yeah, because it's like this is going to be nice. Yes, it's going to be nice. And he's doing some level of service.
Starting point is 00:17:53 He's finding a story that you probably could find yourself. if you dug around but you don't want to. He's doing the work for you and telling it to you in a nice way. It's a soothing toad. Yeah, shout to Global Mind. Now, he does a good job, man. That's a really cool.
Starting point is 00:18:07 Imagine having your wedding certificate, your marriage certificates. I'm not married, but does the witness sign it? They do. Yeah. Wow. Fact. Bad buddy who said.
Starting point is 00:18:17 If you did that. Now, I wonder if they really did, like, cancel their wedding. To which I would have told them, You guys could still have whatever wedding you're going to have and also do this. Yeah, I was thinking the same way. You don't need to not have a wedding. Yeah, you can still have your friends and family and do that portion and show the video. They're like the one prerequisite is bad bunny and sis.
Starting point is 00:18:39 This is the only way you sell them. Nah. We have some breaking news. I think we need to point out before we, uh, their, uh, Lou just sent this over. Laura, you saw it right? We don't have a breaking news sounder. We need to do that. Can we get a breaking?
Starting point is 00:18:52 We need some sort of breaking. We got to change it up, though. let's think of a good one. We don't want to do the same one we always did, right? Let's, let's... This is something. All right. We don't have anything, but something.
Starting point is 00:19:00 But we'll use this for now. Breaking news. There you go. Okay. The FAA has halted all flights to and from El Paso Airport in Texas for 10 days. I'm confused. And they could extend it. This hasn't happened since 9-11.
Starting point is 00:19:20 The halting of flights to a place for an extended period of time. Don't they have an ice ice. facility in El Paso? Isn't that like one of the... And an army base. What is happening? But I don't understand. Is there any more information? That's all it is.
Starting point is 00:19:35 But I wanted to put that out there because of the military action and potential Department of Homeland Security action. They've halted all... Like, why? I don't understand. Yeah, I don't either. I mean, I guess we'll get more information. But yeah, we want to pay attention to that.
Starting point is 00:19:52 But anyway, breaking news on the Ebro-Law-Rosvenberg. show. Turn that drop up, man. It's too low. Not that loud. That hurt my ears. There you go. Abla lay.
Starting point is 00:20:03 Now, speaking of Bad Bunny, back to the Bad Bunny story, can we have this investigation that's being levied against Bad Bunny? Have you guys seen this story? Yes. I was going to use it in the rundown, but let's do this because this is... It's not real, so the rundown deserves better. I mean, it is. That's a sad part.
Starting point is 00:20:22 It's happening. Let's have it, Rassan. over to the bad bunny bad performance of the super bowl halftime we're still investigating this there's a lot of information that has come out about the the lyrics i saw the half time show and we're switching back and forth with the t p u s a half time show they uh the lyrics uh from what we have seen from bad bunny are very disturbing and if it holds more so than absin five the you know i don't speak fluent spanish over Okay. I know how to ask where the bathroom is, but these lyrics, if it is true, what was said on national television, what's true? We have a lot of questions for the entities that broadcast this. What's true? And we'll be talking with Leonard Clark from the SEC about this.
Starting point is 00:21:13 I don't know. Some sort of content that this is, this could be much worse than the Janet Jackson wardrobe malfunction. Worse than Janet Jackson. But at least that was a malfunction. I mean, this was apparently intentional. This was intentional, yes. And they could not have said this word in English. So just the fact that we're at a place in our country
Starting point is 00:21:33 where we had a fully not understandable halftime show to English-speaking people, which is the language of this country, by the way. And that it is that grotesque is just really disturbing. And here's the ironic part, Dr. Gina. The NFL purposely wanted a Hispanic, star basically to perform at halftime because they're trying to attract more of a Latin America audience and this is what they deliver. Yeah, trying to pull them away from the football that they call.
Starting point is 00:22:07 I'd rather hear Maddie Kelly's honesty about her white supremacy. You know what? Just say it. Don't, don't, he's hinting at what the problem is. Why? I don't understand. These people that are obsessed with racism, can't you at least be. honest about the greatest passion in your life? The greatest passion in your life is your pride
Starting point is 00:22:28 in your white skin. You hate other people. If you're obsessed with it, why don't you wear it on your sleeve? Why do they have to hide from it? This entire thing is that they're scared. They are losing the white identity of this country. It's making them freak out. It's making them freak out to the point that they had to elect someone who they worry. They know. They worry. Maybe like a child predator, maybe like the most, he hates the Bible. They know he hates their Bible. He hates everything they stand for. But he likes white supremacy.
Starting point is 00:23:02 But they had to go with him because that's how important this issue is, yet they can't actually say it out loud. It's insane. We just watch that whole dance. He's not saying what he wants to say. No, and in his tweet, he's like, you know, Americans were forced to watch him gyrating it. And, and- We've seen tons of people, Jirating can't be the problem.
Starting point is 00:23:27 And I was like, what? Like, it was insanity. They just make up whatever they came. If Bad Bunny was in the Epstein files, they wouldn't be investigating them. Oh, no. Because guess who's not getting investigated? Anybody in them Epstein file?
Starting point is 00:23:42 No, it's a real thing. No, it's... And other than Bad Bunny, Epstein chaos is on my timeline. Yeah, that's, you really are my wife. It's the exact same. I saw a funny thing moving around to someone. That's their whole timeline also.
Starting point is 00:23:54 Yeah. Someone put up a video. It's just like doom scrolling Epstein nightmare that have mixed in people dancing to Chambaya. Like it's just like you know what I'm saying? But yeah, what was the biggest? Is there anything new Epsteiny in the last couple of days? I mean, go ahead. Just Lane testified, right? No. No, no. She she said apparently she could exonerate. She could exonerate Trump. if they're willing to change her sentence. They're outwardly saying, yeah, hey, I can come out and say that he did nothing if you all let me out of jail. So that means there's another option. Correct. It's completely invalidated by the fact that it's even being discussed.
Starting point is 00:24:42 But this morning when I, in the car, I saw a video of Bobert. Congresswoman Boebert was leaving a viewing of unredacted Epstein file stuff. And, you know, she sucks. She's the, she's like Kid Rock's girlfriend. She's a nightmare. But anyways, she walked out. Kid Rock's girlfriend for real? That's what's speculated.
Starting point is 00:25:03 Yeah. What? You haven't heard that? No, no, no. Anyways. She was the one to give a handies in the theater to an expert. Yeah, I mean, respect. Which is fine.
Starting point is 00:25:11 If that's what you're into. No, exactly. And it's very on brand for Kid Rock. Like, she's kind of hot, but got a skanky reputation. It's very Kid Rock. So, but she had just seen some of the unredacted files. And they were like, do you think that Maxwell, should, you know, get the opportunity to blah, blah.
Starting point is 00:25:27 And she was like, no, Maxwell needs more time and a harsher sentence. Like, what I just saw is the most. So, like, they know Maxwell should not be able to get out for anything. There should be no sort of plea deal really available for her, especially when you know that the president is the kind of person who would blatantly do a quid pro quo right in front of our face. That's what he does. So I hope that that doesn't happen. You know, in the UK, maybe is it Spain also?
Starting point is 00:26:05 France, for sure. They are already investigating politicians that are in the Epstein file. Oh, my dad just told me that yesterday. He said, he said Andrew, Prince Andrews lost like everything. Yes. They're taking away in Europe. If you are like deeply in the Epstein files, you're losing. bank accounts, you're losing every opportunity.
Starting point is 00:26:26 Everything's gone. They're taking it from everything. They're not playing any games with you. This is the only place. Nothing. Nothing. This is the only place where it doesn't matter. Wow. But think about it. Europe isn't a perfect place. We know that.
Starting point is 00:26:39 But they don't believe in serving poison to their people also. That's right. We're fine with it here. We are the worst place in the world. Why do you think we're so loud about saying we're the best place in the world? It's because we're the worst. At least the worst of the people who had the opportunity to be good. I'm sure there are worse places to live based on the lack of opportunity and money. Now, if you're looking for a silver lining, there was a time when England and Britain or England, the UK, Europe, all of them, all of those countries have had their time where they were the worst.
Starting point is 00:27:08 True. They're older times. They're older countries now. They're older countries now. No, they have longer runs of it. And longer runs of it. Yeah. So if you're looking for a silver lining, maybe one day we will be honest about our white supremacy and racism.
Starting point is 00:27:22 We will make being a Nazi and the Confederate flag actually illegal. And we will move forward and hold people accountable for corruption in the government at the highest levels. And not be and not try to, because I remember what was the guy? What was the guy running for mayor that we had, Andrew Yang? Uh-huh. When I asked him, I asked Andrew Yang, do you think Donald Trump should be held accountable for his crimes? and he said no this was before all the
Starting point is 00:27:54 Epstein stuff and I was like and everybody was afraid to have the United States look like a banana republic well look where right now you play here we are here we are if you don't this goes all the way back to the Civil
Starting point is 00:28:08 War if you don't hold people accountable for their crimes that's just happening again that's what you are now yeah I saw Same. I have to, like, be easy with all the ICE videos
Starting point is 00:28:24 because they really upset me. But I saw this video of, like, ICE agents, like, tackling down, like, deaf students, right? Nah, bro. It's literally bottom of the barrel, Ebro. Like, we are disgusting. Yes, deaf students because they're not complying. They're not listening.
Starting point is 00:28:42 Oh, they weren't able to listen. Oh, what... So what I'm trying to say it gets to is, do you think that there will be a time where these ICE agents will be held to carry for their actions. Based on history, no, Laura. No. January 6th, they stormed a federal building on live.
Starting point is 00:29:00 It was on live television. Across the world. The entire world saw it. Remember, they wiped doo-doo on the walls. It was documented. They had zip ties. They beat up cops. They killed people.
Starting point is 00:29:12 Yeah. They got off. They were exonerated. So, no, I don't, in all like, I don't know what would have to. happen for people to get held accountable. Isn't it ill though? It sort of feels like America, you know, has been a disaster in many ways forever. But, and you and I've argued about this some, but I believe it was trending in the right direction, maybe too slow. But I thought it was going. You mean Obama era. Heading towards post, but I mean, just generally speaking, there were ups and down.
Starting point is 00:29:43 If you looked at the chart, right, there were definitely downs and ups and but we were generally, the chart was slowly going the right direction. And then we went, I think we're really good. Oh, no, we were post-racial, remember? It's time to get. We had a black president. Racism's over. It's time to get what we like to call post-racial, baby.
Starting point is 00:30:02 Let's do it. No, no, listen. We're going to move in easy, okay? We're not going to start with an American black man. That's too much. Too much. Too much fear. The white man has too much fear of them banging his wife and all that.
Starting point is 00:30:14 We're going to go with a mixed kid and his dad's from Kenya. His dad's African, culturally, he's basically just Hawaiian, okay? He's, I mean, he listens, he likes basketball, but he's, we're going to try it. I think we're going to be fine. And that was enough to send us back to goddamn pre-Civil War. That was it. Yeah, that was it. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:30:38 That's how racist it is. Working for the idea of the nation looking up towards a biracial black man sent us. completely back to prehistoric times. We're so embarrassing. Anyways, what else we got? Well, there was a video we showed two days ago of Mike Tyson's commercial during Super Bowl. Oh, you want to rehash?
Starting point is 00:31:04 Well, because I didn't think the commercial was that bad. No, we all said, well, Laura didn't say much, but Ebro and I were like, this isn't bad. No, and I didn't think it was that bad. I still don't think it's that. But then we got comments that were like, nah, y'all missed it. It was bad.
Starting point is 00:31:17 And what exactly did we miss? I think they're calling people fat, right? He was, a G or whatever it would he? Yeah, first of all, let's not even get to how bad the actual spot is from like a production standpoint. But he was associating being overweight
Starting point is 00:31:30 with being disgusting. Okay. Okay, yeah. That's not. We could talk about being unhealthy. Yeah. But using things like fat and disgusting. But see, I thought he was just talking about himself.
Starting point is 00:31:40 He was, should we watch it again? Or which video do we have over there, Bascom? Do we have the explanation of the, of the Tyson? video or the actual Tyson video? I don't think Bascom has it. I think No he does. He said he needed two minutes. Two seconds, two seconds, but yes. I kind of took it like Ebro, I thought he was just
Starting point is 00:31:56 talking about himself. He was using himself as the example. But it's a very, it's an oversimplification of overweight people in this country. And it's pretty, and then he's what he's his fudgy. I guess and I didn't hit me like that. I thought he was just
Starting point is 00:32:14 talking about himself. And so some people have weight issues and it's not because of their food. It has nothing to do with their food, exercise, none of that. Yeah, and some people have issues to do with their food and it's deeper than they're just want to eat all the time. Right, right, right, right. Yeah, let's see.
Starting point is 00:32:30 All right, let's see. I was so sad, nasty. I would eat anything I was like 345 pounds, a quarter of ice cream every hour. I had so much self-hate when I was like that. I just wanted to kill myself. We're the most powerful country in the world And we have the most obese, fudgy people. There's a lot to be said about this ad. Not least of all the fact that decades of data have shown us that moralizing food and shame-based messaging,
Starting point is 00:32:55 like using the terms fat and nasty or fudgy people, whatever that means, are not helpful. This is well-established. Shame and stigma-based messaging around diet do not improve health behaviors and are consistently linked to worse eating patterns, disordered eating, and poor mental health. But what I really want to focus on is this line. Something has to be done by processed food in this country. This is during the Super Bowl, alongside commercials for Dunkin' Donuts, Lays potato chips, Mickelope Ultra, Pringles, Budweiser, Pepsi, Skittles, Helmonds mayonnaise, Ritz crackers,
Starting point is 00:33:27 tortilla chips, and raisin brand. If we are serious about improving how Americans eat, we have to start with reality. Americans do not struggle to eat well because they've not heard enough shame-based messaging. They struggle because we've built a food environment designed for profit, not health, highly palatable, convenient, aggressively marketed foods dominate our landscape because they make industry a lot of money. Meanwhile, more healthful foods are far less accessible for millions of people. This is not an accident. It's the predictable outcome of policy choices and an unwillingness to meaningfully regulate powerful industries. And more broadly, health is largely shaped by income,
Starting point is 00:34:03 food access, social supports, environment, and access to education and health care. These are the forces that determine what people are realistically able to eat. And you cannot shame someone out of structural constraints. If we truly want people to eat more nutrient-dense foods, shame-based messaging during a football game is not the solution. It requires building a society where the healthier choice is the easier, more affordable, and more accessible choice. It requires policies that strengthen the main drivers of health and willingness to rethink systems that currently prioritize corporate profit over health. Until that happens, food manufacturers will continue producing and aggressively marketing the food that generate the greatest profit, and people will continue to eat what is
Starting point is 00:34:41 most available and accessible to them. And this MAHA movement, which protects industry. Kay Nurik, I think is her name. I'm gonna'amena. And, like my music, my hair can't change with me and has to be able to continue my rhythm. For so, Potion Nine,
Starting point is 00:34:55 of Sebastian Professional, has all what my hair needs. Nutrition Profunda, protection against the encrespaid. 99% less of rotura and Puntas Abirtas, under control. New Potion Nine of Sebastian
Starting point is 00:35:08 Professional, the secret professional of who don't see tendentias, but of she has a great account. I've got a great follow. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:35:17 Everything she's saying is absolutely right. The whole science behind shame-based messaging and all that, fine, absolutely right. I still think, and once again,
Starting point is 00:35:27 she's absolutely on point with all the other ads that you're seeing. Yeah. I think this is rooted in who put the ad up. Yeah. This is rooted in a shot
Starting point is 00:35:36 at RFK and MAHA. With good reason. Yeah, and with good reason. Yeah, yeah, for sure. I'm not disagree. But you're saying not because of the words that were used. No, the words weren't great.
Starting point is 00:35:45 But it was also still Mike Tyson using doing Mike Tyson. Yeah. Listen, I love Mike. You know, he's a flawed individual. Yes. But I have a lot of love for Mike. You realize what it says about your organization that that was the best commercial you thought you could put together at the Super Bowl was having Mike use the word
Starting point is 00:36:04 fudgey. That was the best they could do. The biggest platform, you're going to spend the most money to deliver a message. And they thought they were like, this is so important. Yeah. Well, but, it's Mike Tyson. Well, but, and the expectation is that the government is supposed to use their intellect and science and specialist to craft and information to craft commercials and messaging for the public.
Starting point is 00:36:30 The reason Mike Tyson was obese wasn't just because he was feeling lazy and wanted to eat a bunch of ice cream. Right. He's got serious trauma and mental health issues, which probably. led him down a path of specifically in that in that era in his life it was after his young daughter was killed well there you go he was he he he gained that weight in the worst time of his life there you go it lasted for like 18 months then he got really healthy and lost the right yeah it's not that wasn't the average like might you're you're right he's not even the right person for the message Mike has been a freakish athlete his whole life that's right now he does
Starting point is 00:37:05 without working out lean towards being a heftier guy like that's kind of who he is but he's also one of the most famous athletes of all time. That's what I'm saying. They were just happy to have a celebrity. He's not a regular person, is my point. And none of that was based in science. So I feel the blowback on the Mike Tyson ad is valid. And it's based in people being like,
Starting point is 00:37:24 you're the government of the United States. What the F are you talking about? Yeah. You don't even have scientists up there. The scientists have quit or you fired them. Yeah. And real quick, I'm just curious. It's like one hand.
Starting point is 00:37:40 doesn't wash the other. This administration is removing so much red tape to make it easier for us to be fed poison. Yes. We are less healthy, right? They are literally allowing something like, you know, less restrictions on baby formula. And everything we put in our body. Can I tell you what doesn't help people's health?
Starting point is 00:38:03 Stress and chaos from the top that's constantly spinning us in. into an emotional, chaotic mess every single day. It's a great point. Yeah, and on top of the nutrition. And then you have all the other stuff. Right. Unemployment. Things being too expensive, right? All of the things.
Starting point is 00:38:26 So you can't even as a government keep things calm and focus so that people can have a seemingly emotional healthy day. Right. You have complete and utter chaos. You're allowing poison in all of our. food. You don't even believe in the vaccines that can keep us healthy. We're seeing diseases that haven't
Starting point is 00:38:46 existed in decades make comebacks. There's like 900 cases of measles in South Carolina. Because y'all have scared people out of MMR and their polio shots. And you think Mike Tyson and an apple is going to make that better? What the F is wrong with these people? So I think that's what the blowback is.
Starting point is 00:39:02 So when we watch the ad, I'm looking at Mike Tyson talking about his health. I'm not putting it all together. I got into an argument with a friend of mine because she was like posting your smoothie at Arawan. And I was like, why the hell are you giving them any money? What's wrong with Aeroon? You got them smoothies are like $29.
Starting point is 00:39:16 I just think that stores like Arawan like boil my blood because it's elitist bullshit. Go for it, Laura. Spicy styles, talk about it. Because it is. Especially in a place like, okay, it's popular in Los Angeles, but do you know how many food deserts Los Angeles had? Right. Has actually.
Starting point is 00:39:33 So I've never, I've never been to Arawan. So it's basically a smoothie king for the rich? No, not just smoothies. It's an actual supermarket. Okay. where you can buy a gallon of raw milk for $37. Eggs will cost you $48. And I'm just making up these prices,
Starting point is 00:39:47 but this is how ridiculous they are. I've had an aeron smoothie on delivery. I've never been in. I didn't know it was a store. When you were in L.A. Yeah, in L.A. But they have one out here. I think it's inside, um,
Starting point is 00:39:59 Kithi. Yeah, some BS. Which is a private club, by the way. For it, everything is for rich people. So if you want, quote, unquote, super healthy stuff, oh, you have to pay. So Laura's really mad at it.
Starting point is 00:40:10 her friend. I just feel like Well no, it's very dushy. It's just a douchey move. Yes. Because people do and you should even know Erwan is already a punchline just on account of what Laura's saying. So there's a double whammy. Number one why are you a douche? Number two,
Starting point is 00:40:26 you don't realize that showing off that you're eating Airwant is even more douchy? How do you not have the president of Mike? Everyone knows it's douchey. Why would you celebrate this? Like people are like ooh, how cool. No, it's not. Laura's on a game. It's terrible. Also, you can't just go to a regular place and get a smoothie? Like, I mean, in terms of looking for a healthy option, I'm sure, you know.
Starting point is 00:40:43 No, because they want the triple organic. Come on. And that's why I hate them. I hate them. I hate all those elitist grocery stores. I think it's a joke. You know what I'd like to really find, do some research on? I'd like to know, and I'm sure there's an app for this, but like what are the healthiest places?
Starting point is 00:41:03 If you're on the go and you have to eat, like what are the legitimate healthiest places to go? You know what I'm saying? Is it sad? Are you saying like a restaurant or what do you say? Yeah, like I'm leaning more towards like chainish restaurants that you might see everywhere. Not fast food because we know none of them are healthy. But like, for example, like in my brain, I'm like, oh, I don't want to be too bad. I'm going to have Joe in the juice.
Starting point is 00:41:27 Is Joe and the juice not bad? Or is it straight trash? What are you having at Joe and the juice? I think that's the piece. Well, it is the piece, but also do they just have healthy ingredients? I'm not talking about fattening or not. I'm not talking about calories. I'm talking about eating healthy food.
Starting point is 00:41:41 Like, is this food okay? Is it a food good? Yeah, you don't know. You don't know. And by the way, the labeling, you don't know if it's real or not. There's a lot of things you don't know. That's why, like, you obviously, a lot of oils, a lot of sauces, fried, you're done. Anything with a lot of oils, sauces, got sugars and things in them, and fried foods, you're in trouble.
Starting point is 00:42:00 But I'm saying even when you go to the place that you believe are healthy, a just salad, a sweet green, a Joe and the juice, the ones that are brand, their brand is we're supposed to be healthier. I know. How many of them are also just giving you poison? Well, I look at it. Like, we choose to shop at like a Whole Foods or a Trader Joe's because there's like healthier options. But then, you know, Amazon bought over Whole Foods. So that's a whole different thing there.
Starting point is 00:42:20 I've seen like all these like nutritional like breakdowns of all these like influencers saying, this is terrible. This is bad. This is why. And I'm just like, you think you're doing it. Oh, the Yuka app? Yeah, I need the Yuka app. I don't use it.
Starting point is 00:42:34 I spell it. It's useful, right? Yeah, I do it a lot. What's a do? You scan the food item. Okay. And it scores it for you health-wise. Yeah, that sounds good.
Starting point is 00:42:44 Yeah. So that's, I mean, that is a useful. Until they want to make some money and then, you know, all of a sudden now. They're giving you bad information because whoever bought the company. You see? Oh, I got a dope one for yesterday. That I heard yesterday.
Starting point is 00:42:55 Listen, all you can do, look, your best bet is to eat as clean and lean as possible. That's your best bet. No, no, I know. And you're going to get some poison. Okay? You've been getting it your whole life. And then you go to like the. There's a few rat turds in that.
Starting point is 00:43:09 There's a few rat turds in there that are allowed by the FDA. Just know it. Maybe a few more now. Maybe a few more. They were like, we're tired of the red tape, a little more rat poop. You know what I'm saying? But you know the fruits and vegetables. Now there was this guy who was like, if you look at the code at the beginning,
Starting point is 00:43:24 it'll tell you if it's actually organic or not. What? I thought because the signs said organic. I'm buying organic. No. No, no, no. Some of it could be GMO. Some of it is sprayed with some, you know,
Starting point is 00:43:34 pesticide that was just cleared. Rosemary, you just don't know. anymore. So this is unrelated to food, but I just thought you to appreciate this. My dad sent me an article from somewhere yesterday. It was an opinion piece of basically saying how America is a complete fraud. If economically America was more like the NFL, how much better as a society we would be. Meaning, I'm not talking about the business of the NFL, but how the NFL is actually a socialist construct. And it's funny that everyone loves... Oh, yeah, because it's all shit. It's all shared profits.
Starting point is 00:44:09 All shared profits. Yeah. The Cowboys make the same money from the TV deal that the Carolina Panthers make, and the Panthers are never on TV. If your team sucks, what happens? Get a high draft pick the next year. We're going to give you the best opportunity to lift yourself up. Everything is done.
Starting point is 00:44:27 Everything is done in a way that's supposed to make everyone equal and fair. Why? Because you want a good game. You can't be the Cowboys and say, hey, you know, we make the most. money, we do the most for this league. We'd like to have 13 players on offense. Not 11. Can't do that.
Starting point is 00:44:46 But in big business, Target and Walmart and all of the big, in Amazon, they get to change all the rules and the little guy just keeps losing. And yet we somehow think that we're going to have a healthy economy or ever do well. And not only that, they villainize the idea of doing things in this way.
Starting point is 00:45:06 But our favorite pastime by a mile is a complete socialist construct to make sure everyone can be healthy. And guess what happened this year? No chiefs, no Eagles. We got the Seahawks and the Patriots who two years ago were the worst teams in the NFL. You wouldn't have thought they'd have any business been there. While he says all that, they're bashing their brains in and might have some brain. That's a separate point that's absolutely true. But guess what all that was going to land on.
Starting point is 00:45:34 but guess what we're doing right here in American society? We're still bashing our brains in or getting our brains bashed in by the federal government or ICE agents or the police and nobody's being held accountable just like the NFL. Great point. At least they get paid well. At least they know what they're getting. That's right. They opted in.
Starting point is 00:45:51 They opted in. They're going to be rich and hopefully stay healthy. But yeah, that's a different story. Laura, you ready for the rundown with Laura style? Let's go. Oh, man. Laura got the rundown. Turn that up.
Starting point is 00:46:03 So it looks on glow when she pulls up. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Light still flashing. We don't slow up. So it looks like Drake and McDonald's might have something going on. So new posters have been popping up all over Toronto with the owl and the Mickey D's logo.
Starting point is 00:46:23 So possibly a new meal, new merch, new menu, something. I mean, you know, something on the way for the ice man. I think he's gearing up for. You said, and McDonald's? Yeah, Drake and McDonald. So just as we were talking about how unhealthy. So real quick. And of all the collabs.
Starting point is 00:46:41 See, I was not going to say anything. Drake is fast food. Drake already makes fast food. Now he's going to be a fast food. Damn. I thought I was going to get through this story and we weren't going to go anywhere. Go anywhere bad. Go bad on Drake on this.
Starting point is 00:46:54 No, no. I'm not going to crush him. But when Travis did that, it was the most gross. It's just like. A lot of artists did it, though. didn't they? McDonald's? Yeah,
Starting point is 00:47:04 no, no. Like a Jay Balvin, Travis Scott. I mean, Jay Balvin. Yeah. Travis Scott. Who else? Sweetie. Sweetie.
Starting point is 00:47:11 Oh, yeah. Some of the true grades. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You're a bad guy. No, I mean, listen. Now, you're a bad guy, man. Travis will not say no to a check. That's, he will not, he,
Starting point is 00:47:23 I think Travis is a really talented dude, makes interesting music. Yo, man. He will not say no. I just want the audience to know. I'm holding back, man. No, well, no, listen, you should. You're more corporately connected than I am.
Starting point is 00:47:34 No, no, no. That's not why I'm holding back, because I don't want to be a Drake hater on this. Oh, on the Drake part. Okay, okay. Yeah, no, I'm more corporately connected than you are. I guess we're both corporate. No, you're more corporately powerful than I am. I guess we're both corporately connected.
Starting point is 00:47:46 I have one job. Yeah, I've got multiple. Yeah, but yours is a higher position. It's a big one, though. No, I'm really holding back because. So then, don't say that. Okay, that's not. No, all I was going to say.
Starting point is 00:47:56 You got to want to hold back. No, no, you know what? Laura, lay out. Go ahead, bro. No, I can't do it. Hit him with a one shot. Ebro wants to go in. No, no, no.
Starting point is 00:48:05 I'm holding back. Oh, no, no, guys, guys, guys, I'm holding back. You might as well not. I do so bad. Well, because it was how Laura set it up. Because she was like, the ice man is doing a deal with Mickey D's. That's like a double whammy, bro. Like, why are you the ice man right now?
Starting point is 00:48:25 That's his thing. Well, I thought he was canceling the album on account of that. I don't know. I didn't hear that. Laura set him up as the ice man is doing a deal with making me. I thought he was no longer doing it. Oh, wait. Oh, I'm going to send you somewhere else.
Starting point is 00:48:38 I don't know if you guys saw this yesterday, though. He's like now following Donald Trump. So everybody kept posting. Who is? Drake. Come on, man. Why are you making this so hard, bro? Is this on IG or Twitter?
Starting point is 00:48:51 On IG. He followed Donald Trump on IG? That's recent? I mean, people were pointing it out. I don't know if it's a recent follow. And I went and checked. Yep, he is. Listen, a lot of people follow Donald Trump.
Starting point is 00:49:04 That's fact. A lot of people who hate Donald Trump follow Donald Trump. That's fact. You know, like, I've always seen people follow the president just because they want to know what the hell he's saying. Yeah. I've seen that too. However, Drake. Now, look, he's not an American citizen, so maybe he wants, you know, be able to move around without any problems.
Starting point is 00:49:20 I think he moves around fine. Could be. We don't know. I don't know. I just thought that. He moves around fine. So I don't follow Donald Trump. Me neither.
Starting point is 00:49:29 I might follow him on Twitter. I had to go. I went and looked, though. I don't follow him on IG for sure. I follow POTUS, and I'm unfollowing that. Yeah. President of the United States. Because POTUS switches up with every party, just like the mayor, the mayor.
Starting point is 00:49:42 That's if we ever have another president. Well, I'll follow again. Do I follow Trump? No, I don't follow Trump. Do I follow POTUS? It's a good question. You follow POTUS for sure. You think I do?
Starting point is 00:49:51 Yeah, why wouldn't you? You probably been following since? No. You don't follow POTS? No. On IG, I don't. On Twitter, I didn't. No follow for POTS for me.
Starting point is 00:49:59 You get nothing Rebel Rebel Renegade must stay paid In other news Rosenberg's not going to care But Britney Spears sold her entire catalog I don't care either
Starting point is 00:50:13 For like $200 million Well I'm happy for her I just Brittany just makes me sad man I just Natalie loves Natalie's of that age She loves Brittany of that day And she was watching the
Starting point is 00:50:24 Super Bowl commercial Her Pepsi commercial Yeah Bra her moment at that time you forget like we do forget how big Brittany got at her at her I know you didn't care and you were completely checked out an anti so was I
Starting point is 00:50:37 but I was also 20 so it was in my orbit she was like just almost as big as you could possibly be and then I literally later that night on my Instagram I saw on the algorithm like her like dancing with knives and looking sweaty and I'm like what the happened I had I got into argument back when she was
Starting point is 00:50:58 in a prime. Not a prime. Like, right, what was, oops I did again? That was her second album. Second album. Whatever it was. And I said,
Starting point is 00:51:08 she's gonna end up crazy and doing porn. And when you look back at like her interviews, they were so inappropriate. Like the way people like, talked about her. No, no,
Starting point is 00:51:18 listen, it's not on her. Like, I really, I do not blame Britney Spears for anything. She, if you, it's the way I feel about Bieber. If this started with you when you were literally
Starting point is 00:51:27 too young to make choices yourself, it's very hard for me to ever fully hold you accountable in the way I do someone who decides when they're 17, 18 years old. I'm going to go for it now and build a career. Bieber hasn't done anything too bad. No, no, no, but he's had his moments of bad. Yeah, like the drug stuff or whatever, but I think mostly Bieber's stories, people taking advantage of him, right?
Starting point is 00:51:49 Yeah, but he had a bad person. He had a racist video back in the day, an N-word joke that he told. He had this, he can just be, he's had moments where he definitely comes off like an a-hole, like on, you know, when you see him from a distance. Not my experience with them. But I always have empathy for people who just never got a chance to choose, you know. And Brittany, listen, I used to talk mad-ish back in the day, too. Don't get me wrong.
Starting point is 00:52:13 Oh, she's overrated. You guys see girls like Britney Spears in Ocean City every day. But then I went back and watched the Pepsi commercial. I was like, all right, she was her. She had a thing going at that time. There's no way around it. The brand was on fire. And the other part for me, I think, when I first,
Starting point is 00:52:29 I never was a fan of the whole dressing up as a Catholic school girl and being flirty. Never. No, you were very, you were always always, you've always always always been like, but again, not her. No, that's the societal thing. Like that's a cultural thing. She didn't come up with the concept of, oh, I'm going to dress up as a Catholic school girl and look slutty. I would always like, why would I know. And then they shot the video at like at a high school.
Starting point is 00:52:55 At a high school. And it's just like, when you look back, you're like, what? Well, and then even that, even that people. Pepsi Super Bowl commercial, the whole theme of it, it's a few years later, she's like definitively adult at this point, she's like, whatever, 21, the whole theme of the video while she's looking hot is it showing people watching on TV like tongue out of their mouth, like older men
Starting point is 00:53:15 being like, ugh, like they just, it's nasty. But I'm, so I'm happy that she's got her, she got her publishing or sold her publishing. Sold for 200 million? Yeah, that's a good amount of. That's the number, a 200 million. I would say for what Brittany's music catalog is, which is not that great. Although I will say, take this back.
Starting point is 00:53:38 Her value probably just went up. I don't know if you're aware of this yet. Ebro, maybe you would be. Toxic is very hot for young kids again. Oh, they rediscovered it. Toxic has become, like, Issa definitely knows toxic. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Toxic has become like a forever hit, which I hated toxic at the time.
Starting point is 00:53:57 as a DJ because you'd have to play it at my college gig, I'd have to play toxic and it's just like, the way it started was so that I could not stand that freaking record. But I like it. But no, it's a good record. It's lasted.
Starting point is 00:54:15 It's actually, it's the one that's lost. And I'm confused. Max Martin wrote I just had to Google. Max Martin, who's obviously still very active in music and having tons of success. He wrote a lot of those Britney Spears record. So he benefited from, so when they say Britney Spears sold her catalog,
Starting point is 00:54:33 is that $200 million for her? Because she didn't. I don't know. She's, from the way it's written, I wasn't in the studio, so clearly I don't know. Maybe it's just her writing portion. Maybe that's her portion is $200 million. That's still phenomenal. That would be a lot of money.
Starting point is 00:54:48 That would be a lot of money. If you didn't write those records. That's a lot of money. And they probably gave her publishing at a certain point because she was an entity. Right. So sometimes artists like a Britney Spears or Whitney Houston, these big artists, because they're doing your soul, you have to give them some publishing. Right.
Starting point is 00:55:05 Even though they don't actually put pen to paper or come up with any idea. Yeah, but now you're so valuable in the process you deserve the credit too. That's right. So listen, I just hope I always thought the sneaky weird part about the Britney story and her conservatory was it's terribly messed up. But based on the videos I saw, I was like, It kind of seems like, her conservatorship, based on the videos I saw,
Starting point is 00:55:30 it kind of felt like she needed help. I'm not saying her parents were doing that. And two things can be true at the same time. She could need the help, and people could be taking advantage of it. For 100. I think that's the most likely scenario. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Well, so let's see.
Starting point is 00:55:44 Is that the rundown with Laura Stout? Is it? Anything for the lowdown today? Well, the lowdown was supposed to be them trying to come after bad buddy, trying to investigate him. He just wants to play the music. It doesn't really matter. with Laura Stey.
Starting point is 00:56:00 So are you telling me I take your story earlier? That's exactly what you're saying. Do you have me to redo part of the tweet? Yeah, go ahead. It's time for the lowdown with Laura Stap. Just part of the tweet. This congressman Andy Ogles from Tennessee, right? He wrote, the Apple Music,
Starting point is 00:56:14 Half-time show was pure smut. Smut. No, this is crazy. He recently aired on national television for every American family to witness. Children were forced into explicit displays of gay sexual acts. No, no, there was one gay dance move.
Starting point is 00:56:30 You saw the one gay dance move, right? Women gyrating providently. It didn't. Bad Bunny shamelessly grabbing his crotch while dry hump in the air. No, stop. No, stop. Yo, the reach, bro. They might as well just say I was offended by how many times you said A.
Starting point is 00:56:47 No one should say eh that many times. And it goes on, but it is disgusting how, you know, these people are. No, they're freaking out. I knew when they saw the girls dancing in front of the. The Casita and with all the girls like shaking and twisting and whining. Well, it's making it feel too much. I knew that was going to get some blowback. Even though every, every year it's like that.
Starting point is 00:57:08 Every year, basically. Every year. But I knew they were going to. Because when you see black girls and Latina's doing it. No, no. That's when people. You don't want to say it like Megan Kelly? Latinas.
Starting point is 00:57:18 Latinas. Fucking asshole. I'm sorry. Hey, it's Black History Month. Yes. And we got a black fact. We got a black fact today. Let's see it.
Starting point is 00:57:29 Moving too quick for Rassan. Sorry, man. Yes, shout out to our friend, Def, not and follow him on Instagram. He's a great creator. If you live in South Carolina, do you know who this woman is? This woman in the middle right here. Her name is Septima Poinsett Clark. She was a teacher and organizer and one of the most important architects to the civil rights movement. She created a concept known as Citizenship School.
Starting point is 00:57:49 She taught black voters how to read, write, pass literacy test, and register to vote all throughout this Jim Crow South. And on top of all that, she mentored Rosa Parks. Parks. And on top of that, she played a huge role in the Civil Rights Act that Rosa Parks took part in, both before, during, and after the Montgomery bus boycotts. And in the summer of 1955, Rosa Parks attended one of Clark's workshops, and it was a turning point in her activism. It's believed that the schools that Septima Clark set up trained 10,000 teachers and helped register over 100,000 black people to vote. September Clark didn't just teach history. She enabled, she emboldened, and she mentored the people that came along to create history. And he says that based on facts. And that's what makes it a... Based on fact.
Starting point is 00:58:43 Black fact. Right here on Ebro-Laure-Rosembourg show, like, share, subscribe. Yes. I want to give a shout out to the super chat. Let's do it. Let's go. You still got to do the gurus. I know.
Starting point is 00:58:54 Sharon, hit us up. She's a loyal friend of the show since the beginning. Thank you for feeding us the truth no matter. what love, respect, and admire you all will follow you guys anywhere. And yes, how did you know I'd love to see Ebro in his birthday suit? God bless you all in your families.
Starting point is 00:59:10 I said something about people want to see you strip. I think it was yesterday. The eyes, Chico, shout to you, shouts to J.W. again. Tina Chrissy came through with a big bag, fought forever. Love what you all are doing where it's going. Did you all see that Britney Spears sold the right to her entire
Starting point is 00:59:27 catalog? You know what? We did that for you, Tina. That's why we did that. Yes. Wow. KP dropped a 50 spot. Oh, my God. Such a fan showing y'all some love. Zen, Zen, Zen, Zen, Zen, Zen. Raul says, Rosenberg, I need an apology
Starting point is 00:59:43 for saying, I made up the Trump in the files more than Christ mentioned in the Bible comment. I need eye contact. Yo, chill, bro. No, he does need an apology because now Jamie Raskin says the unredacted Epstein file. Yeah. His name is in there one million times.
Starting point is 01:00:00 Bro. It was 38,000 in the redacted. Yo, we didn't shout out this, and thank you for reminding us 25 lighters, Mad Skills who won a spoken word Grammy this year. Yo, Mad Skills, that's right. Yo, I was going to post that on my gram, too. I set it aside and didn't do it.
Starting point is 01:00:18 Yo, Mad Skills, man. Salute. That was his second poetry album, too. Yeah, shout out to Skills, bro. Shout out to Cringe, who hit us up. Oh, East Village. Hit us again. Hey, fan from Perth, Australia. The 50 is to show love only, no glazing.
Starting point is 01:00:33 L.O.O. Yo, Ebro. Never stop talking to truth. You're the realest voice out there. Queen Laura. You're truly beautiful inside it out. And Rosenberg, keep the truth coming, my G. Pah. Shows to Eric Jones. Shouts to Shantel Mitchell. Sheen Bean. I'm so happy that I can now take y'all from the car to the bus to the office. When you were at that other place, man, it was hard to find you out here. We need that Saibow and Saibad hoodie, Laura. What's side bad? Shut your bitch ass.
Starting point is 01:00:59 Sit your bitch ass down. Shouts to Grim BK. Shouts to Eddie. BXCast says, good morning. Love you guys. Are you guys going to bring back a congratulations you played yourself segment or are you hitting the button so much throughout the show
Starting point is 01:01:15 that it's over, L.O.L. Mareno de Van, aka our boyfriend. Wow, we have. Because he hits us every day. How much money we got? Another 20. Top off the mic.
Starting point is 01:01:28 Two hand next, right? Oh, my God, no. Two hand out. Yo, chill, bro. Yo, it's time, man. No, hold on. Wait, we got more? He said, you should let the people know how Italians are protesting and rioting because
Starting point is 01:01:39 ICE is in Milan. Yeah, that's real. That's where I've been seeing those. Chef Daniel Brown back again. Thank you again, man. He says, I shop at Giant. I save a lot. And Acme, what up?
Starting point is 01:01:48 And lastly, your C girl said hot raw. Rick got it right. I want to ask the people, drop your legit, fave Mexican spot in NYC and lastly shouts to Yvette. That's everybody today. Wow. Wow. So much love. Original guru time. The original gurus at Gmail. Let's go.
Starting point is 01:02:07 Breathe in, breathe out. The original gurus at gmail.com. That's where you send us your problems. The original gurus at gmail.com. Where the gurus unite to shine the light. Ebro burn the sea. Zen. Zen. Zen.
Starting point is 01:02:26 All right, Rosenberg. Who's out there? Who needs us? I want to say this briefly. Okay. One, send your emails because we need more gurus. The original gurus at gmail.com.
Starting point is 01:02:34 Shout to Dom Nero out there, checking us out. So how's to Dom in Canada. I might want to watch use his video tomorrow. He sent a video about the difference between American fruit loops and Canadian fruit loops.
Starting point is 01:02:45 Oh, okay. And I'm intrigued by stuff like that to see directly how our country's good with poisoning us. The original gurus at gmail.com, if you want to get down with that, but also at that time, it's hump day.
Starting point is 01:02:55 It's time to get your Freedom Friday emails and points notes do us as well. Ebro Laura Rosenberg at Gmail. So send those in today as well if you want to be a part of Freedom Friday. PCLR, glad to see you are in real time building your own.
Starting point is 01:03:06 I find this offering so much more enjoyable than y'all being a hot to be honest. It allows a more intimate experience. Pause, Ebro and Peter. I've definitely been in the super chat and Rosenberg call me Danielle. I'm no lady. Oh, sorry, I guess it's Daniel.
Starting point is 01:03:18 My bad, brough. Zaniel. Why did you just Zaniel? Yeah. Come on, man. Question. In light of our recent Super Bowl halftime show, many of my friends and peers are saying the quiet part out loud.
Starting point is 01:03:29 I think it's disturbing, especially today when black men are speaking conservative white men talking points. Yes, there are a section of the Latina population that voted for Trump and do not feel like they are part of the diaspora. However, right now in this moment, we have to be intentional and deliberate with every step, tweet, post, share, etc. How do you all handle this right now? Not those who voted one way or another, but right now, after the halftime show and all the subtle, bigoted comments on your timeline, I would love to know. What do you mean? Handle what? Like Handle seeing that there are people out there.
Starting point is 01:04:01 I've been seeing racist my whole life. I think he's talking about, I think he's seeing black and brown people doing it. I think they're idiots. That's how handling it. You're dumb. You know what I saw yesterday? I saw a video moving around from Adam Pac-Man Jones talking about how he didn't like halftime. Bro, of all what in the concussion protocol is?
Starting point is 01:04:26 this. We do not need... Nah, listen, there's some people you just don't... You just didn't need a podcast from. Well, not only that, but I can't take you serious. You're grifting, bro. You're aligning with white supremacy and racism because you think it's going to get you to a bag. And you have no morals and you have no purpose. You know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 01:04:44 Your purpose is not to serve the community or uplift people. It's just to help yourself. Let's just be honest. Yeah. That's just what it is. You just have to chase a bag. What is that called? Click farming.
Starting point is 01:04:56 Algorithm hustling, cloud chasing. We kind of said this yesterday. That's how we handle it, is that we know that these people are not serious. So I know it's frustrating and it could be upsetting. But yeah, I think at a certain point, we've gotten used to seeing people that just, you're just like, oh, so you stand for nothing. I know what you are now. Thank you. That's it.
Starting point is 01:05:12 And they keep it moving. I think that's the silver lining. People showing you who they really are. That's it. I'm feeling proud to say it out loud. So yeah. So don't, I don't think, try not to let it affect you too much because people are showing you who they are. And if they show you, believe them.
Starting point is 01:05:25 Yeah. So say the guru. There it is, pal. Original gurus at Gmail. The ebro-law Rosenberg show every day, 8 a.m. on YouTube. You can check us out live. And obviously, you can watch on your phone, jumping the car, throwing on Bluetooth. New Patreon today.
Starting point is 01:05:39 That's happening? New Patreon. New Patreon. New Patreon today, with an announcement. Yeah. Wait, why did you got, yesterday, Rosenberg, we were doing the Patreon and you were asking me, we were doing like origin story, like how we did what we did. We got to some of that.
Starting point is 01:05:51 Yeah. Why did you say it sounded like I was upset that I was telling the story? I don't know. Your tone wasn't like fun. It's like it's like it's hard getting you to look back. I'm always looking forward. So looking back is like I don't know if it's something I'll be honest. Looking backwards for me feels lame. It feels stuck. Yeah, but that's not. I'm sorry after I'm gonna I'm gonna pull the I'm deep in these therapy streets. That is covering up feelings. Well yeah, I think it's covering up the fact that it was hard and I don't want to think about it. Correct. But that whole, but you add the lie, which sounds fire, which is, not because I'm looking forward. And if I look back, I can't be looking forward. Well, really, it's like, I don't want to look back because it hurts. And I'll feel like crying with you people today. It's just hard. It was, well, I don't know about looking back on work was that.
Starting point is 01:06:40 But that's what I'm saying, but I think you look back at the whole picture, something. Something scares you when you look back a little bit. That's my, just my. No, I can see. Someone who's been friends with you for 20 years. That's my observation. Does it scare? Well, if you're on Patreon, you're going to get some of it. You get some of it. We don't, we don't get all the way there. We start it. We start the origin. We start the origin. It's going to have to be a multi-part situation. You know what I feel when I look back? I feel a level of, I think I'm always trying to be humble. When deep down inside, I'm the greatest motherfucker, y'all. See, he's doing it again. No, I'm kidding.
Starting point is 01:07:15 No, when deep down inside, when deep down inside, I was like not processing what was going on. I wasn't even thinking about how I felt about it. So then when you look back, you got to kind of go, wait, how did that make me feel? It's like work. Yeah. That's the part. Listen, when I hear you talk, we got to go. I don't know why we're bringing this.
Starting point is 01:07:36 I don't know. You just pulled a Rosenberg. Well, because I want people to tune it to the Patreon. It's a good job by you. But this is now even better than the Patreon, I think. But when you, the calmness with which you speak about your mother and father's relationship and you speak about it very calmly, it's like there's so much there, bro. Like there's sign.
Starting point is 01:07:54 You love your dad. and you love your mom and your dad was horrible to your mom. Oh, yeah. Living through that and then rationalizing the relationship and you can't. But he's your dad. No, but you can't rationalize relationship. You can't. There's no anybody out there that had one parent that is currently abusive or was abusive.
Starting point is 01:08:19 If you actually go to a therapist, right, and you actually sit down and do the work, you end up in a place where you have to accept the fact that you have no. control over that. Like you... But still there's so much hair. There's got to be so much there. Yeah, it hurts, but you have no power. Right. That's the part. You're powerless and you have to accept that. But people live out
Starting point is 01:08:38 that little kid experience for the rest of our lives in different ways. So a long way of saying, I think whenever it comes back to like, hey, let's look back. I think for you it gets more complicated than let me just look at the fun times when I was the jamming salmon. Because then you start looking at like all the other things floating around there. And there's a lot of stuff there. Plus, you're a black man in America.
Starting point is 01:08:56 You didn't grow up in 2000. No. You know what I'm saying? Like, what year were you born? 75. Like, now looking back, 75 is still, I missed the beginning of it not being horrible and it was still horrible. No, no, no, it's still horrible right now. There you go.
Starting point is 01:09:12 So go subscribe to the Patreon. Forrest keeping us focused. Good issue in there. She's like, no, it's true. The America's bad. Patreon. See you in a photo. All right.
Starting point is 01:09:20 All right. That's what we're waiting for. Oh, really? Yeah. You can't leave without this. We'll see on Patreon. Don't follow the podcast.
