Starting point is 00:00:00 This is a podcast from Rover. Is this the worst rendition of the American National Anthem people have ever heard? The internet's losing the plot over this. So, Kristen Chenoway, icon, small little petite blonde lady, she was the original... Glinda. Glinda from Wicked on Broadway. Yes.
Starting point is 00:00:25 Now famously played by Ariana Grande in the movies. But she was the first one. And her voice is very kind of operatic. Have a listen to her final note in the American National Anthem at some sporting a movie that happened overnight. And have a listen to see why you think the internet's kind of a bit confused. I think it's impressive. Hugely.
Starting point is 00:01:13 I think that's not the right song for it. I think show that skill another time. Really? Yeah, gosh. Because it's like, it's such a, I hate when, like, you try and go to sports and you go to sports and you go to sports and you. you sing the national anthem and they change it up. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:01:26 So you've got to stop singing along. That's the version that you can't really fully sing along too. If you're not as gifted as a singer as she is. Yeah, it's like classic, when you go to a concert and the music artist changes up the song that you know and love and then you start singing, they sing different times. You're like, this is embarrassing. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:01:42 We're not all singing together. She put out on Instagram after that because she was getting a bit of hate. People were agreeing with you Harrison online. And then she was like, you know what? I'm just being my authentic self and that's just what I'm here to do. Yeah. iconic though no good on her
Starting point is 00:01:55 I think just like yeah selfishly as an audience remember over like oh well I can't join in can on hey better than Fergie oh
Starting point is 00:02:02 we all remember Fergie come on Steph better than Fergie low blow mate so Lord's new album comes out on Friday it's called Virgin her
Starting point is 00:02:12 her third fourth fourth album and a lot of people have heard already because you might have seen this online she's been doing
Starting point is 00:02:19 these little pop-up parties all around the world where she's just got a bunch of her fans, super fans in one space, normally like a club. And she just plays the album and she kind of like dances to it and lip sinks along to it. It looks like so much fun. And people who have been to these exclusive Lord Listening album parties
Starting point is 00:02:39 have gone to Reddit and they have described the album that we will all here eventually on Friday. But would you like to know what people are thinking of it? I'd love nothing more. Because Harrison. Yes. Go on. What?
Starting point is 00:02:53 Retail everyone. I'm just not the biggest fan of Lord. Lord. Controversially. I know. I know she's like a phenomenon from this country. She truly is. Same music.
Starting point is 00:03:02 Same toast. So this album, one of the songs on it is called David, the final song on the track list. And this is what people are saying about that one. It's the one that surprised me the most. Just based off the title, I didn't expect much. But wow, I think it may be her best album closer yet. Really?
Starting point is 00:03:21 You reckon it's about Seymour? No. But someone else described what the song is about. Attenborough? No. They go, I'm not sure why she chose the title, David. But the lyrics are about her relationship with her ex-boyfriend, who was 17 years older than her and started dating her when she was a teenager.
Starting point is 00:03:42 It's reflecting on how he took advantage of her and the imbalanced power dynamics in their relationship. Oh. Whoa. Oh, heavy, eh. Did you know about this relationship? Was it public? Yeah, no, it was definitely public, yeah, for sure.
Starting point is 00:03:57 Gee, that's pretty rough. Yeah, um, interesting, eh, so that's the final song on the album. The album as a whole, people who have heard the full album, Lord's album we're talking about are describing it as, holy hell, it's good, it's raw, powerful, electric. There's a few rock elements in there. Someone else says it's a no-skip album, and the singles were the weakest for me.
Starting point is 00:04:18 Whoa. So, I mean, this is one of the weakest songs on the album. It's got to be good because it's so rocked. It's a shame, I mean, I'm not, I'm saying you're good on her. It's crazy that all the songs when she's by herself, people are saying, like, shit. Wait, what do you mean? You see, like, all the singles, like, the ones when she's by herself? No, no.
Starting point is 00:04:37 Like, she's single, like, she's by herself. Do you know what a single is? Wait, we need to clue you up on words more. Maybe not. What is it? A single is, like, when an artist releases a single, it's like, one of their favorite songs from the album at Sport Radio Plays. You know what I mean? What we play. They're singles.
Starting point is 00:04:54 I really should be taught more about this job, eh? Scandal. With Sean Stephen Harrison. Brad Pitt, we all know that his divorce with Angelina Jolie has been pretty messy. Turns out he has an alcohol problem and he talked in a brandy podcast about going to AA. Now, this doesn't happen with Brad Pitt. He doesn't do podcasts. He definitely doesn't talk about this kind of stuff in any interviews that I've ever seen him do.
Starting point is 00:05:23 And so he was on the Dex Shepherd podcast. He must be friends in real life or something for him to get on there. He's promoting his new F1 movie. But have a listen to his experience. I was pretty much on my back. Yeah. You know, on my knees. And I was really open to, I was trying anything and everyone,
Starting point is 00:05:41 anything, anyone threw at me. It was a particular, difficult time. I needed rebooting. I needed to wake the fuck up in some areas. And it meant, it just meant a lot to me. Interesting, eh. That's really crazy. I didn't know that about him.
Starting point is 00:05:55 Yeah, neither really. But he don't know much about him. He's one of those movie stars that's so mysterious. Well, he's private. Super private. And you learn everything about him through, like, tabloid media. So it's like, what do you believe? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:06:07 You know what I mean? I just didn't realize that. He's one of those famous people in the world, but you just don't know much about him. No nothing about him. He liked adopting children at one stage with Angelina. Oh, yes. Remember that? He's currently in New Zealand?
Starting point is 00:06:17 And he... Did he hit one or something on one of his kids on a plane? Oh, really? private jet, he, like, got aggressive or something. Probably peak. Who knows? Who knows? Who knows? Imagine, though, like, going to sort out, you know, your addiction, and that's a huge step, and you're sitting there at Alcohol's Anonymous, and walks Brad Pitt. And do you, well, do you know they actually have, like, celebrity alcohol anonymous?
Starting point is 00:06:40 Oh, maybe it was a celebrity one. I know, it's a podcast, Bobby Lee, a comedian, he goes to them, and he's, no, they can't say who's there, but he's like, oh, it's just the people, you would not expect the people there. It's, like, pretty sad. He's like, but it's crazy, but we're all together. Wow. Interesting. You must have to sign a non-disclosure agreement contract bank. God. Jeez, that's interesting. That is Scandal. You can listen to The Edge on Rover, R-O-V-A.
Starting point is 00:07:04 It's free to download to your phone. And every single time you listen or watch one of our videos on Rover, it gives you an entry to winning a brand new car. Two-two. So every time you listen, you could be more and more chances of winning a $70,000 car, which is pretty cool. Yeah, rum. Yeah, rum. Any more? Don't you do them?
Starting point is 00:07:22 Oh, okay, sorry. Rover, Music, Radio, Podcasts.
